What is Westgate Reservations?
Westgate Resorts has 22 resorts in nine U.S. states. Timeshares are a vacation property type where you share the costs of the property with other owners. In return, you’re offered a guaranteed amount of time at the property each year. Timeshares are offered for vacations to not only Westgate properties, but also places around the world through exchange programs. Westgate timeshare properties offer modern amenities including fully equipped kitchens, leather furniture and in-room washers and dryers.
How does Westgate Reservations work?
Essentially you own a portion of a property or resort, with guaranteed vacation time every year. You can vacation at your home property or a resort through Westgate’s exchange program. Westgate partners with other timeshare companies like Wyndham, Marriott, Hilton Grand and Starwood to provide more vacationing location options.
The best way to start the Westgate timeshare process is to book a VIP tour at a resort location. The in-person tour can be booked online or by phone.

- Orlando, Florida
- Las Vegas
- Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Additionally, Westgate timeshare owners are able to visit properties around the world through exchange programs. Exchanges allow you to visit other Westgate resorts, take a Westgate cruise or exchange internationally. Exchange fees may apply.

Initially, our experience was very positive. Our representative, Natalia, was welcoming, professional, and personable. We genuinely enjoyed the presentation and the property itself. In fact, purchasing a timeshare is something my husband and I are interested in doing in the future. However, we explained honestly that while we liked the product, we are simply not financially ready to make that type of commitment at this time. We shared that we would likely revisit the idea within the next year or two when we could do so comfortably and responsibly.
After we expressed this, Natalia brought in her manager. At that point, the atmosphere changed significantly. The conversation became uncomfortable and increasingly pressured. We were asked questions implying that we lacked financial capability, including whether we had Affirm we could put the purchase through. I explained that I would never place something like this on Affirm, yet the pressure to close a deal immediately continued. The personalities of the staff shifted from friendly and welcoming to cold and dismissive once it became clear we were not prepared to purchase a timeshare that day.
We were also told that if we did not move forward immediately, we would never be able to return for another presentation. We knew this was untrue because the representative who originally scheduled our appointment specifically told us that if we enjoyed the presentation but were not ready, we could return in six months. At that point, it became obvious that misinformation was being used to pressure us into making a purchase.
After this interaction, we were introduced to another representative named Brenda, who stated she would “close us out” so we could receive our Universal Studios tickets. Brenda then presented us with what sounded like a wonderful alternative option. She explained that for approximately $1,300, we would receive three vacations to use over the next three years, including three seven-night, eight-day stays. She stated this would also establish a Westgate account for us and allow us time to think about purchasing a timeshare in the future.
We were excited about this offer and specifically asked Brenda multiple times whether there were any additional costs associated with these vacations. I even referenced the Dream Vacation Week book she provided and asked directly if there would be extra fees tied to those offers. Brenda clearly told us no. She explained that once we completed the remaining payment for the package, everything would be available to us and accessible through the materials and USB drive she provided. She specifically stated that we would not have to pay anything additional for the three vacations.
Unfortunately, after returning home and reviewing the USB materials and contract, none of what Brenda verbally described appeared to exist in the agreement. Concerned, I contacted customer service the same day because I noticed there was a 10-day cancellation period. The representative I spoke with informed me that the package only included one week of vacation, and that both the Dream Vacation Week and Leisure Time Passport programs would require additional fees.
This was extremely disappointing and upsetting. We feel that we were intentionally misled in order to secure the sale. What makes this even more frustrating is that the package itself may still have been appealing had it been presented honestly. Your properties are beautiful, the two-bedroom unit we toured was impressive, and the discounts associated with the programs still could have made the offer worthwhile. There was absolutely no reason for us to be misled or pressured.
As someone who has worked in sales and marketing for over a decade, I understand the importance of presentation and closing opportunities. However, there is a right way and a wrong way to conduct business. High-pressure tactics, dishonesty, and treating potential customers poorly when they decline an immediate purchase are unacceptable practices. Your product is strong enough to sell itself without misleading consumers.

I am glad we got involved with Westgate. My sister and brother-in-law, my husband and I, love it. We love going on vacation. I recently retired, and I've been traveling everywhere this year. So, it's perfect for us. We love it. We've been to two so far. Next week, we're going to Myrtle Beach, Westgate. That's gonna be our third one.
We did a tour, and we loved it. We bought two units. The next year we went back, we bought four units. The following year we went back, and we bought 10 units. So, we’re up to 10 units now. We love it there. My son lives down in Florida, and so I like to come down there. He's an hour away from Westgate, so we drive down to see him and come back for the night and go back a couple days later. It has worked out perfectly for us. We decided to go to Tennessee, and we stayed at Westgate, Tennessee. We fell in love with Tennessee. This year we're gonna go to Florida for one week in October and drive up to Tennessee for one week since we love Tennessee.
Westgate makes the process easy for you. You call and ask for something, like towels, whatever you need, and it's there. If you need dish soap, they bring it right to you. If you want your bed made, you could call them, and they're gonna make your bed for you. Also, we tried a restaurant in Tennessee. We ate at several of the restaurants in Florida and they're good. You don't have to leave the resort. You could go to the marketplace and get stuff. You could go out for dinner. I'm coming down there in July, and I'm not gonna have a car. I will be at Westgate, and we'll eat all the time there.
Westgate in Florida has 14 pools. We go to the pools all the time because we like that. We've been to the golf area. We have done T-shirts with the kids, the bingo, karaoke. We played games. They had a Jeopardy Night. We participate whenever we can. We were at the Tennessee location only for four days, so we wanted to see the mountains. I walked over to the pool, and I saw it. So, I wanna do the pool this time, because I didn't get to do that last time. The Tennessee units are like little log cabins, they have a fireplace, where the ones in Florida have a Jacuzzi. I assume they're all different. I'm looking forward to going to Myrtle Beach and seeing what it has to offer.
In Tennessee, we went to Dollywood. That was easy to get to. We drove up to the mountains. It was easy to get to restaurants. We went to Flapjack every morning for breakfast. And Walt Disney World's right down the street. It's five minutes away, but it takes like a half-hour to get there with traffic in Florida. But everything is convenient. It's so relaxing. The staff are outstanding.
I get phone calls all the time about timeshares. I tell them, “I'm very happy with my timeshare,” and they hang up on me. They don't wanna hear it. I'm not interested in selling. I'm trying to buy more. For owners, they have a dinner that you get a $200 gift card. You have to go for breakfast, and they take you a tour. I like that, because last time we did that, we took a tour, and we got to see the villas in Florida. We ended up buying two villas, which are the two-bedroom units down there. That's perfect. I like doing that. I thought it's gonna be at some point where you're not gonna buy anymore. But it's very nice to have that option. They have the gift shops and everything. I don't think there's anything that I want that they don't offer.

Checking in with Westgate was good, but checking out was aggravating. They came up and got us from the room. The rep, Peyton, was nice at first and we couldn't have asked for a better person. We told him before that when we went down there that we weren't looking into buying because we already own with Westgate. We got a good deal with what we have and we didn't want anything as far as buying or upgrading. He asked, "Is there anything that you need help with?" I said, "Yeah, I need help." We do cruises too and we wanted to figure out how to do the traveling to what we already got. He said, "I can show you how you can get on and do your cruise." We thought, "Hell, yeah." He went to show us how to do it online before he started trying to sell shit.
Whenever he started trying to sell us stuff, we told him we weren't interested. We said, "No, we're good with what we need." It was pleasant with Peyton the whole time until I turned down buying something from him. We tried to talk to him and he said, "Oh," talking about the cabins that we can see over there. He never was saying words. When I didn't want to take the deal on buying the place, his attitude flat changed. He started getting rude with my wife, mostly. He was a totally different person to what he was when he came up and got us.
We felt so awkward with Peyton. We were going to get a ride up from one of the buses. We didn't want to ride back up with him the way that he was acting, but he said, "No, I have to take you up." We let him take us up to the road, but the whole time, he was like a four-year-old little kid. Other than Peyton, I met one fellow who was nice. He even helped me pack my bags up to the room. All in all, I would rate everything, but that Peyton dude, at a 5. If it was up to me and I knew that I could sell our share and be out of it, I'd let Westgate have it back. However, I've not talked about it to my wife about it and she doesn't want to sell it.

Hi Bride,
Thank you for your feedback and for being an owner. We’re glad to hear check-in went well and that some team members made a positive impression. We’re very sorry for your experience during the tour, as this is not the level of service we aim to provide. Your comments are taken seriously and will help us improve.

We were invited to a time share sales breakfast and condo preview in Vegas. We currently are owners with VI Resorts. It was supposed to be 90 minutes and we were promised 2 events/attractions in Vegas. The salesman was nice and we expected high pressure sales but it took more than 3 hours, we had to keep telling them no. He sent his manager over after he couldn’t sell us the package. Somehow the price went from more than a $1000 a month for the package to $149 a month. Lots of smooth talking and trying to convince us to make the deal. We continued saying no and then they left to get our “gifts” sent the gift lady over with yet another sales pitch, we again said no too. We ended up getting another paperw we needed to take someone else in the hotel to redeem our vouchers.
We finally got the vouchers redeemed and we only got one attraction instead of the two promised. We had plans with friends that ended up not working out because we were held hostage for do long. I was really pretty disappointed. We are currently Vacation International owners and am disappointed that Westgate is our parent company now.

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my experience with Westgate Resorts and their “Vacation of a Lifetime” certificate. I contacted customer service on behalf of my mother and stepfather to assist them with booking their vacation. Due to my mother’s limited English proficiency, I joined the call to help ensure clear communication. My mother was present on the call and answered all questions directly. However, when it came time to confirm details such as spelling her email address, I briefly assisted. At that point, the representative refused to proceed and stated, in a raised and dismissive tone: “NO, I HAVE TO HEAR IT FROM HER. You must speak and understand English in order to register and travel with this certificate.”
I explained that my mother does understand English but benefits from assistance due to language limitations. The representative then stated, “We are in America and you must understand English,” and refused to continue the booking process. I later spoke with a manager identified as Nelly **, who reiterated this position and defended the policy, comparing it to needing to speak French in France. She appeared dismissive when I raised concerns about discrimination.
This experience is deeply concerning for several reasons:1. Westgate Resorts actively markets and sells to **-speaking customers, yet appears to deny equal access to services unless customers are fully fluent in English.
2. My mother was present, responsive, and participating in the call, yet was denied reasonable assistance.
3. The tone and wording used by both representatives were unprofessional and exclusionary.
Denying service or placing barriers on customers due to language limitations—especially after accepting payment—raises concerns about discriminatory and deceptive business practices.

We visited Westgate quite a few years ago, bought four units, and have been happy ever since. Booking our stay has been very simple. My wife calls on the phone, makes the reservations and then we get there usually late. They check us in and send us to our room, and everything's great. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, and the rooms are always clean. We've never have to worry about having a mess anywhere or it being dirty.
In terms of activities, we usually go on hikes on our own and while we don't typically eat at the resort, when we went to Cocoa Beach this past week, my family went for some burgers and they were really good. We also used the pool and went to the tiki bar a little bit. The bar was cool and the bartender was great. The pool was decent too. My grandkids went swimming and had fun. The resort had entertainment up in another section, DJs, and all sorts of stuff for New Year's. It was our first trip to this particular location, and it was good. The resort is close to plenty of restaurants, and we were right off the beach. We went up to Amenity Park and another wildlife park as well.
Our experience with Westgate has been excellent. They offer great accommodations and we've had fantastic stays. I love Westgate and I'm very happy with the program that we have. It works for our stuff. We get plenty of vacations throughout the year, and I would recommend it to anyone that's looking to get a timeshare. Definitely go through Westgate's sales presentation and buy a unit because it's well worth it.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your continued loyalty and for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We’re glad to hear reservations and check-in have always been smooth, the staff consistently helpful, and that you enjoyed the pool, tiki bar, and New Year’s entertainment. It’s great to know the program and accommodations continue to meet your expectations.

I have been an owner for over 15 years. I am now in a financial situation where I can no longer afford the taxes and maintenance (increased costs every year, etc). I called the resort to ask about my options and I was told I have 3 options. One is to try to sell it, 2) deed it to a family member, or 3) relinquish the property which would cost me over double the cost to pay the maintenance and fees. So I say tread carefully when looking to buy, because if your situation changes, they are running a racket to keep you in the timeshare.

Beware Beware Beware! Do not fall for the try before you buy vacation package. Date: July 11, 2025. We recently stayed at the Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa using a guest certificate from my in-laws, who are owners, and strongly encouraged us to visit. Upon check-out, we were invited to participate in the mandatory timeshare presentation. During the presentation, we spent hours touring various timeshare room options, but ultimately, we decided against making a big purchase as such right then. Afterward, we were offered a try-before-you-buy vacation package valid for two years with no strings attached. Despite our clear intention of not pursuing ownership at that time, we reluctantly agreed to a $75 deposit that day.
Unfortunately, the try it before you buy it offer fell short of our expectations. Although we kept all the documentation provided, we later realized that the contract containing my initials and signature was delivered by email days after our request. To make matters worse, the initials and signature didn’t appear authentic. This series of events has left us quite disappointed, especially since we initially enjoyed our time at the resort and were looking forward to making reservations for the upcoming Christmas season. Regrettably, given this experience, I cannot recommend Westgate Resorts or consider staying at one of their properties ever again.

HORRIBLE!!! I have read several reviews from “RENTERS” that their stay was wonderful. Well I’m an “OWNER” that has owned since 1996, and we’re currently staying on the property now for the Thanksgiving holiday and my experience this year has been extremely unpleasant. The deed has been paid in full for a decade now and I guess that since I have chosen not to pay additional money for a more upgraded unit that I deserve to sleep in filth.
The first unit that we checked into was in the B building and the room was less accommodating than Motel 6. The second unit we looked at was more modern but only had 1 bedroom to accommodate 3 women and 1 adult male. The third unit that we checked into was renovated but when spraying down the beds with lysol we noticed several bedbugs. When we went back to the front desk for the forth time management immediately disagreed and stated that the pictures that we had taken were of “spiders” and not of bedbugs. They then instead of upgrading our room to one of the rooms that “RENTERS” are ranting and raving over they told me that they could not grant any upgraded rooms to “OWNERS” this week.
We were then given a fourth room that was in the same building as the third bedbug having room was located in. When we checked in the room the smell of bug spray hit us in the face, the dishwasher was running and all of the ceiling fans were running. This was an extremely disappointing customer service experience since we also had a flight delay earlier and we landed after midnight. Then went to pick up the rental car and was told that they were out of rental cars and to come back in the morning so I ended up spending additional money to rent a car from another rental car company because the resort is over 30 minutes away from the airport. So we ended up getting to the resort after 2:00am and finally checked into the forth room hours later.
After this experience I will definitely be looking into selling my timeshare since I was shown that you are more valuable as a “RENTER” than an “OWNER”. I would advise everyone to just attend the timeshare presentation and continue to come as “RENTERS” because as soon as you become an “OWNER” you no longer have the red carpet rolled out for you. The managers on duty were Danielle and Rudy and neither understood the value of customer service. I will also be posting my experience on TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. I am not looking for an insincere apology. I am looking for an explanation of why this happened and I what course of action is management going to take to rectify the problem.

My experience with Westgate’s timeshare has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. From the beginning, the information they gave me was confusing, incomplete, and in some cases misleading. The salesperson who handled my case, Héctor **, assured me that everything was recorded on camera and that he couldn’t lie because of that. However, when I called customer service and asked them to review the audio of that conversation, they told me that no audio recordings exist.
I felt deceived, unprotected, and trapped in a contract that does not reflect what was promised to me. I’ve tried to resolve several issues, but all I received were evasive answers, unexpected charges, and a complete lack of empathy. When I asked for help to exit the contract or renegotiate, I was given no clear options and no human support.
That’s why I firmly warn: DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. No matter what they promise you. Read every clause with legal guidance and proceed with extreme caution. Spread the word! Let no one else fall into this trap disguised as an opportunity. I write this review to protect other consumers and to urge Westgate to review its practices and treat its clients with the dignity they deserve.

My husband and I stayed at Westgate last March. The process was fine, but we didn’t get the unit I was hoping for at that time. My first husband and I owned a timeshare at Westgate. I gave it back after he passed away. So as an owner, I knew what the units were like, and we were given a very small one. My husband said it was okay, but it wasn’t what I was expecting.
This most recent stay was much better. We stayed in one of the quad buildings. There were even two little Cayuga ducks outside. We were also fortunate that they moved us to a bottom-floor unit because my husband has difficulty walking and climbing steps. The only issue was that he couldn’t get into the tub, so next time we’ll make sure to request a handicap-accessible room.

My experience with Westgate Resorts was deceptive, high-pressure, and financially damaging. During the sales presentation, I was subjected to hours of manipulation and false promises. I was told the timeshare would increase in value, could be easily rented or resold, and would save money on future vacations — none of which turned out to be true.
After signing, I discovered hidden fees, inflated maintenance costs, and severe booking restrictions that made using the timeshare almost impossible. When I reached out for help, I was met with rude and unhelpful customer service and pressure to spend even more money. Westgate’s tactics are predatory and unethical, trapping consumers in contracts that are extremely difficult to escape. I strongly urge anyone considering a Westgate purchase to avoid them completely.

A friend of mine who owns the property was the one who gave me one of the brochure, where you recommend someone to go to the Westgate, but they have to sit in 90-minute session. I sat in and I loved it. I went back again, he gave me another one. When I went back, with the experience I got, I purchased. And then from there, I upgrade the purchase. Every so often, I see more benefits, and I purchase and upgrade until I finally upgrade to Tennessee. I always own in Orlando, but then I realized that Tennessee is an elite program.
So far, I've never had an issue. When I want to travel, it all works out for me. They're always courteous to me. Before, I used to rent a vehicle when I travel. The only place I don't rent a vehicle is Vegas. But any other property, once I go there, they normally send a vehicle for me to pick me up at the airport. So, the service I get is superb. The accommodation is always clean. The staff are polite.
Amenities like the pool and tennis court are always good. The kitchenette unit is always well furnished with stuff that I need. There are always glasses and pots. Everything is there, so I don't need to purchase. Even the sugar and perishables that are there can last for a while. You always get dishwashing soap for the dishwasher. They always leave soap for the washing machine and dryer sheet.
When we start using it and we start seeing the benefit on traveling, using it, it's a perk. Every time we go on a family trip, I try to go somewhere that Westgate is, so at least the accommodation is covered. All I have to do is find stuff to do. My wife posted a video saying that this was one of the best perks being an owner, where the accommodation is superb. The way we are treated, we feel like we are VIP.
My wife loves it, especially the places we have been to. They are unique, especially Utah up in the mountains. We love that. My kids that are Gen Z love the mountains. When I book there, all of them say that their breath is totally different.

Hi Dwayne,
Thank you for your wonderful review and loyalty as a Westgate owner. We’re thrilled to know our staff, amenities, and unique locations have consistently made your travels stress-free and enjoyable. I dealt with Westgate 11 years ago in Gatlinburg. You get pretty good deals but they do not tell the truth about the 90 minutes. It's actually three hours. I don't think it's right how they pressure you into trying to buy timeshare. That is not even stated in the documentation that they give you prior to signing on. It says on fine print that you are not obligated, you do not have to buy timeshare. So, if you get one no, it shouldn't be any pressure. And it's never that.
But the deal outweighs that. I paid for the room outright. The rate I got paying for it outright without the promotion minus the rate that they gave me including the promotion wasn't a big difference. The resort is beautiful and so are the available amenities.

I bought in Westgate, Branson, Missouri. Branson is the first place we went and we started traveling with them. They have VIP for owners. I'm a owner so I went into that line that says “VIP owners on this line"". There were other customers. We were standing there and they were working on all these other people. And we're just waiting. Finally, my wife said, “Hey, what about us? We've been here almost an hour. And you guys ain’t even looked at us.” “Oh, we're sorry.” And they came over. There was a guy ahead of us, and he was also mad, but they took him. They finally worked on us. We were not happy at all.
I just went there at Smoky Mountain, Gatlinburg. And they asked me a question. I said, “I'm a owner. And I can't use my place only when they want me to use it.” I said, “What's the sense of owning then?” They give me certain years. Mine is odd years. So, 2025, I can go. Now, I have to wait till 2027, which, I think, is ridiculous. I pay all this money to own. And I'm telling them that it's not fair, that they should have a special spot for owners. Now, if I want to rent it out, that's my option to rent it out, not theirs.
Sometimes you go to a resort, and they treat you like you're an owner and you feel great. But some places you go, and it's like you're a peon taking up their time. And it’s like, “I'm the owner here. I own. Why do I have to pay extra to go to my place?” That's how I feel.
I took my family to the restaurant at Smoky Mountain, and the food was awful. Even my grandkids and nieces wouldn't eat the food because it didn't taste good. We never went back to that restaurant ever again. And any time we want eat, we left the resort.
They had a water park which was good. But you have to pay extra for it. And you get a band, which is okay. They have a lot of construction going on in Smoky Mountains ‘cause they're building more and more. They have plenty for the kids. But all the adults wanna do is drink. If they have bars on the location, who wants to see a drunken parent? I don't, if I have my kids with me, I'm not drinking ‘cause I don't know what's gonna happen to them.

I was convinced to make a $7,000 payment based on promises of exclusive benefits, free vacations, and VIP access. These benefits were emphasized during the presentation, and I was pressured into signing under the belief that I would receive significant value in return. However, I have received none of the promised benefits. I was misled by the sales team, and the documents I was given did not clearly reflect the exaggerated verbal promises made. Attempts to cancel or receive a refund have been ignored or denied.
This experience has caused me financial distress, and I feel I was taken advantage of. I am requesting a full refund of the $7,000 due to the deceptive nature of the sale and lack of delivered services. I am willing to escalate this matter through legal and consumer protection channels, including the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Florida Attorney General’s Office

Terrible experience with timeshare meeting. I would avoid it at all cost. The manager was so rude and condescending. He was rude to the point I started crying and we left with nothing. The gifts aren’t worth being treated this way. We were there for almost 3 hours which was only supposed to be 90mins. They wasted me and my boys time on vacation, promised gifts we never got because they wouldn’t end the presentation even after multiple times me saying we can’t afford it.
The manager started getting nasty to the point where he said, "Well I grew up in a trailer, lived off of government funding and went on vacation only once as a child so you should be happy you guys go on cruise”. Then he got up and rudely walked away. He also made statements like “you aren’t going to listen because you don’t want it”. I told them several times I can’t afford to pay 1400 a month for a timeshare that doesn’t even count maintenance fees. He has no idea how we grew up or what we have gone through so he shouldn’t speak like that to another human being. It was horrible!

The check-in at the desk at Westgate was fine. But in order to get the parking tab, we had to go to the concierge desk. And there, we were blasted with timeshare. We didn't come with the timeshare. I didn't go to be talked to. I didn't wanna be talked to. It wasn't exactly something that I felt comfortable with. I felt like I was over a barrel. But I didn't have much of a choice. They said, “It's only an hour and a half."" It was over three hours long. I wasn't gonna buy anything. My friend that had come with me had just purchased some things with Bluegreen. And they talked Bluegreen down. They told her how horrible it was. It was a horrible experience. We'll never stay there again.
They should've given us the parking thing at the desk when we checked in. But that's how they get you. Because I had to have the parking thing and I couldn't get the parking thing until I talk to the lady at the concierge desk. And the lady at the concierge desk was selling and getting people lined up for their sales presentation at timeshare. It's the most underhanded and sneakiest thing I've ever seen. I was furious. But the resort was nice. It was very well-kept. The people were very friendly as well.

Would not give us clean towels. Had to keep calling and requesting. Ac leaked, never got fixed. Handicapped doors wouldn't open.

I got a timeshare with Westgate. We go every other year and sometimes we go different times to meet people. They’re pretty reasonable and there’s a lot of things to do. It’s great for kids and it’s close to Disney.
During off-season, check-in is really easy and quick. Otherwise, you gotta wait in line. I rate them highly and would recommend them, but I’d give anything to get rid of our timeshare because they were going up.
They also screwed up our card in our last visit though. They put the wrong end date so we were locked out of our room. My husband was not happy because it was late at night and he had to drive to the front. We were tired and wanted to go to sleep, and then we got in the car and drove to the library. It took an extra half hour to get resolved.

My daughter-in-law and my son had two apartments in Westgate. I’ve been there three times. The front desk I spoke to over there sent me to another desk to offer me to go on a ride and show me around. We love it. The last day that I spent there, it was hard for me because I got really sick. My sugar went through 600, and it was terrible. It was a good thing that they got the hospital nearby. The ambulance came and picked me up, and I was in the hospital. With Westgate, you always get good customer service. I would like to, in the future, go back again with my daughter and the baby.

What started as a simple vacation turned into a nightmare. They lured us with promises of a free day at the resort and $100 cash just for attending. Everything they promised was a lie. Once we got there, we were pushed into a high-pressure sales session that lasted for hours. They asked invasive questions about our finances and used emotional manipulation to pressure us into signing a contract. We were promised luxury vacations, and 5-star hotel stays around the world for $400–$500 through Interval International. None of it was real.
When I tried to use the so-called “benefits,” every search I did showed prices over $1,000 per night — even during low season, in multiple locations. It was obvious: they had completely lied just to make a sale. When I tried to cancel the contract, providing clear proof of false advertising, Westgate ignored me for weeks. Then, when they finally responded, they claimed that being lied to be a "valid reason" to cancel. Are you serious? This is theft, pure and simple.
Westgate traps you into paying for something that doesn’t exist the way it’s sold. They have no shame, no customer care, and no integrity. Once you sign, you're trapped — paying month after month for empty promises and frustration. I'm still fighting to free myself from this mess without having to involve lawyers, but the truth is clear: Westgate is a scam operation pretending to be a vacation company. If you’re considering signing with Westgate — DON’T. Save yourself years of regret, stress, and financial loss. Stay far away from Westgate Resorts. You have been warned.

I’m writing this to warn others about my experience. I purchased a timeshare with WEST GATE in Las Vegas about a year ago while under the influence of alcohol and ** during their sales presentation. I was pressured into signing a contract I didn’t fully understand while impaired, and I’ve since realized the promises made during the pitch were misleading or not honored in the contract.
Since then, I’ve filed complaints with the CFPB and BBB, but WEST GATE has refused to release me from the contract or acknowledge the unethical conditions under which it was signed. Their tactics feel predatory, especially toward vulnerable tourists who are not in a proper state of mind to make a financial decision of this size. I’ve also submitted a formal letter and will continue to pursue cancellation through legal channels and the Nevada Attorney General. If you’re considering doing business with them, please read everything carefully and avoid making any decisions under pressure or while intoxicated. This company took advantage of me, and I don’t want others to go through the same experience.

My experience with Westgate has been good. The highlight was the water park but they charge you to go in. Other than that, check in was good and I would recommend them.

I enjoyed my timeshare while it lasted . As soon as in got older and could not take advantage of it. The peaking fees became a burden. Not the the timeshare itself but the fee attached. I tried to get out of my contract through their legacy program but it was an expensive and tough process so I just stopped paying and hit my credit bad. I found a credit expert who not only straightened my report by removing all negative marks but also exited Westgate timeshare for me. If I told you this was a cheaper and better option than most you won’t believe it. I was very skeptical until the process with realtreeofalpha the credit guru on t-gram began and I started seeing results . If you’re needing credit fix or timeshare help you talk to this amazing guy. You won’t find many like this guy.

Over $1k in cash and over $6k in fraud was attempted! You are not safe at Westgate. If you are an owner, I highly recommend that you reconsider. If have not purchased and are just a guest planning a family vacation, I strongly caution you. To add insult to injury, the sales rep texted my wife “As bad as this seems, it could've always been worse”. Westgate has refused to accept any responsibility for this incident.

Worst timeshare you can buy. I've been an owner for almost 10 years and I could tell you that they are not even worth it. The resorts are old apartments or hotels with fresh paint. I learned the hard way that this company cheats its owners as much as possible. Making you buy an affordable unit just to be stuck with paying a yearly maintenance fee to use it. With that same money you can get a private house thru AirBnB. So be smart and avoid getting suckered into buying a timeshare from these guys or anywhere else.

I live in Pennsylvania, but I used to live in Newport News, Virginia. I travel back to Virginia a lot. I sold my house that was there. That's why I kept Westgate in Williamsburg. So when I come home, all I have to do is go to Westgate. If I have to rent a room, I can get it at a decent price.
The check-in and out process was good. Every time I come, it’s good. Food options are cool because I'm used to the area. I can just about go anywhere in the area. Newport News, Hampton. I don't have any problem finding what I want. When I'm staying in the resort, I go to the supermarket and I do all my own cooking.
My wife likes the activities,, going down to the gym room to do the treadmill. Other than that, I don't worry about anything else. When I come there, I come to get a break and do nothing. So I'm satisfied.

Hi Joseph,
Thank you for your thoughtful review and for being a loyal Westgate guest! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoy the convenience, relaxation, and amenities like the gym during your stays. It’s great to know that our resort feels like a home away from home, allowing you to cook, unwind, and stay active. We’re honored to be a part of your travels and look forward to welcoming you and your wife back to Williamsburg in the future!

My experience with Westgate Resorts was awful. They used false promises of free meals, accommodations, and discounts to lure us into a 7-hour high-pressure sales pitch. My young children were left hungry and distressed, as we were denied proper food and breaks. We were pressured into signing a contract based on lies about lifetime discounts and investment benefits, which turned out to be completely false. So far, I’ve lost $3,000 upfront, with over $30,000 in additional payments expected over the next 10 years for something entirely misrepresented. The actual benefits are nonexistent, and the financial burden for lifetime. Westgate Resorts relies on predatory, manipulative practices that exploit families. I strongly caution others to avoid this company.

Westgate Resorts are full of lies and only want your money. After you get pulled into the scam, you sign your life away and they don’t help you get your life back. You are stuck paying a life long of fees. $1000plus a year for the rest of your life-to stay for one week a year in a resort. This was a horrible investment. I have called them numerous times and everyone has an I don’t care attitude. “It’s nothing we can do, you shouldn’t have signed the documents.”

The check-in and check-out process and the food options were very good. The Treasure Cove Island and all the pools have been our favorite activities. We enjoy all of it. Also, we're relaxed and at ease when we stay at Westgate and if we have a little issue or something, they are very upfront and helpful. The indoor parking is really nice, too. We feel secured. But one thing was we attended an orientation and we deposited $20 cash. But we were supposed to see each other again and due to the hurricane, we were not able to. We were not able to get the $100 credit or the card and get back our $20 cash. Other than that, we really enjoy our stay there. That was our second time and we always use Westgate pretty much because it's comfortable and nice.

WESTGATE RESORTS. Once upon a time I owned a Timeshare with Westgate Resorts. I attended one of their high pressure sales presentations to get Free tickets to Universal Studios. Several hours later I bought a timeshare unit. A few years later I upgraded to all year booking with no black out dates. The promise they made to me was that I could cancel my ownership at anytime through their Westgate Legacy Program. This was a complete LIE. When I tried to cancel my ownership they refused to accept it and they told me I would be paying them for the rest of my life. That included the purchase price of the property Deed ($32K) and yearly Maintenance Fees of $1400 per year. I WAS HORRIFIED BECAUSE THEY LIED TO ME DURING THE CONTRACT SIGNING (32 Pages). Westgate Resorts do not allow you to cancel your ownership even though they say you can.
Being unable to cancel my ownership as promised by WR, I hired a timeshare cancellation Attorney for $4000.00. I cancelled my ownership through a legal process which is on file in the County Comptrollers Office in Orlando, FL. My property Deed was legally returned to Westgate Resorts releasing me of all legal obligations to WR. The horror didn’t stop there. Westgate Resorts continued to bill me for the property even though I no longer owned it and they had the Deed back. This went on until it went into collections and was reported to the Credit Bureaus. Despite my proof that I no longer owned the property, Experian refused to remove the negative entry from my credit report. This went on until Collections went into Foreclosure which was also listed on my credit report no thanks to Experian. WR was trying to ruin my life because I found a way to legally cancel my ownership despite their LIES.
Even through all of this, hundreds of owners filed a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against Westgate Resorts for being lied to, unable to book their weeks, and being unable to cancel their ownership through the WR Legacy Program. Westgate Resorts uses high pressure sales tactics to lure unsuspecting victims into buying a Timeshare with them with FREE PARK TICKETS by lying to them about their rights and options and then refusing to allow them to cancel their ownership even though they boast that their Legacy Programs allows them to do so. LIES LIES LIES!
Staying at the Resorts is nice as a NON-OWNER because then it is just a Hotel. Under no circumstances buy a timeshare from them. You will regret it and soon realize it's cheaper to just stay there as a normal nightly guest. The Legacy Program is a SCAM to calm prospective owners into thinking they can cancel their ownership whenever they want. YOU CAN'T!

They gave us $100 if we would come to a meeting for breakfast so we did. A young man did a tour with us and we really liked him but he gave us a little bit of misinformation. He gave us a price of 30,000 for a week of vacation and I said there was no way I was paying that kind of money. They got it down to the one-bedroom and every two years, it was 7,000 and something. My ex-husband agreed to it but on the way home, we had a discussion and we were gonna back out. We tried to get ahold of them but no one answered the phone. Finally, someone answered and they made the excuse that they just got a new telephone system and it's just one thing after another. The young man told us if we purchased this and we decided to sell it or get rid of it, they’d take them back. but I heard later that was not true.
Then, we got divorced shortly after that and I'm the one that got stuck with it. I did pay it off myself and my first trip was with a couple of girlfriends, which we enjoyed. Also, my daughter and I go all the time every two years. But I'm gonna be 77 pretty soon and I don't know how long I can do this because the maintenance fee keeps going up. It's ridiculous. The only reason I can do it is I save $50 a month toward the maintenance fee. Hopefully, it's enough because if they raise it again, I'd be in trouble. Other than that, we love the Myrtle Beach location because it's on the ocean and we had a balcony. That's the best place we've been so far. We also liked Kissimmee because they have a lot more there on-site.
