    Overall decent experience. Only downside was the car was a bit older than I expected for the cost. I was also overcharged to refill a smidge of gas.     Overall good - One incident when the Turo sided with the owner versus the client. The incident was reported to the owner. I replaced the tire with a used tire since it was a used tire on it previously. The owner wanted a new tire. The owner did tell the client to purchase a new tire when the owner was contacted. The client paid for a used tire and continued the use of the vehicle. The client had to purchase a new tire when the vehicle was returned.

    They have been excellent with every rental. Only things we would like to see is more vehicles available in Oklahoma City. Seems there is not many individuals renting. Mainly companies.     I was accused of smoking in my last trip and I did not. I took pictures when I checked out because I was accused before and had no proof that no smoking was done.     We had two couples and wanted to have some extra room to do a little touring during the color leaf change in this car worked out really well. We picked up the car at the airport and she told me exactly where it was at and everything worked out very convenient. The only issue we had was it seemed like the car was very squeaky and we did have a tire warning light that was on from the beginning. The host was great to communicate with and shared advice on how the process worked considering this was the first time I had used Turo. Easy access to the car in the long term airport parking lot - pick up and drop off. My main concern was connecting auto insurance coverage with my Turo rental.     I will refrain from using Turo in the future. If you get stuck with a host that is unreasonable, you will get stuck with unreasonable charges after the car is returned. For example, I was charged for violating the smoking policy because I dropped a vape in the car when no smoking occurred in the car. Furthermore I was charged $18 because the host dropped off the car in the parking lot the night before - personally I believe that if you are dropping off a vehicle, you should try to minimize the cost of the renter. Especially since you are charging for every single thing. Many hidden costs. Rather rent from a traditional rental company.

    Vehicle was returned, I was charged a smoking fee for crumbs on the floor. Literally some sand and like grass crumbs from basic foot traffic. Nothing destroyed or not cigarettes butts, no smell, nothing; made Turo aware, they charged my card $200 and won’t refund it or try to correct the error with the host because I explained, "This must be an error. Let’s call the host." They refused. Crazy part is I have a medical condition and I literally can not smoke even if I wanted to. Absolutely no customer service, they left my email on read after they just sent me an email about the smoking policy. Also they charged me for some host literally submitting old tickets from a year ago and was telling me I owe tolls, took about 2 months of arguing with them to get that corrected, they don’t read anything the host puts as proof. They just charge the customer. See the return and beginning pictures they provided and tell me where you see $200 worth of damages.

    I have only had a few un-savory occurrences. Once a car wasn't available after I had paid and got to the location to pick-up. Turo helped me and waived fees, but in the moment it was awful. One review I received was so not true. That Buick smelled like straight smoke and she tried to say it was me. I do not smoke anything and I have never smoked in my life. Another review I received was because the lady gave me the wrong lock box code and said we had some hiccups. No WE didn't. If she had given me the right code the first time it wouldn't have been any issues.

    Overall it was very nice and simple! The only thing to be careful is the renter. Sometimes, at least on my experience, the car wasn't as tidy as they sell it. The car wasn't clean, therefore they add an smelling odors to hide with a good smell. Also, the car wasn't showing scratches it does have, which becomes disappointing whenever you're paying for a premium car. I definitely think Turo should have better management of the cars their renters publish; because in my case it was 70-80% accurate.

    I was falsely charged for a smoking fee. Extremely upset as this was a $150+ charge. I am currently attempting to dispute the charge as I had my children in the vehicle with me and do not smoke. The "proof" that was sent to me looks staged and the vehicle smelled of smoke prior to my trip. Additionally I noticed burn holes as soon as I entered the vehicle. Customer service is unhelpful & unwilling to be transparent. They automatically side with the host even if your proof is valid.     I booked a Turo car to be picked up at Charlotte, NC (CLT) airport. Following their instructions, my son and I went to the Express Deck Self Park row 2G and the car was nowhere to be found. I contacted the host who did some checking and told me the car was not returned and the next thing I know I got a text saying the trip was canceled. So here we are in the middle of a parking garage with no transportation. We were supposed to be at an event an hour later. The host told me Turo will contact me to set up another car. They did call as we were walking back to the street area. While talking to them, I booked an Uber just in case.

    After 30+ minutes they did find a car but told me I have to get to some hotel near the airport to pickup. I declined and took the Uber and ended up at the event 15 minutes later. I would NOT recommend Turo if you have a time commitment close to arrival time. I have used Turo a couple of times before and they were fine and not airport pickups. I'm thinking - don't use if you have a close time commitment and not airport.

    I am writing to formally escalate a complaint regarding my recent rental experience (RESERVATION #**]). Unfortunately, the vehicle I rented from Mrara experienced significant mechanical issues due to a dead battery, which severely impacted my plans and caused a great deal of inconvenience. On Sunday, October 13th, the car battery died, rendering the vehicle unusable. I was unable to get to my destination, forcing me to use a rideshare service that a colleague ordered for me. Despite waiting over an hour for roadside assistance, the vehicle died again, requiring me to seek help from a stranger to get another boost. I then had to personally go to Walmart to clean the corrosion on the battery cables, further delaying my day and pushing back all of my work appointments.

    Throughout this entire ordeal, I never received an apology or any acknowledgment from the host regarding the faulty vehicle. To make matters worse, when I contacted Turo support, I was informed that a partial refund could not be issued for the day, due to not having a receipt. This is extremely disappointing given that the vehicle was clearly not in proper working condition when I rented it.

    Considering the circumstances, I respectfully request the following:

    1. A partial refund for the day that the vehicle was inoperable.

    2. Compensation for the additional costs and time incurred (Uber fare, battery cleaning, lost appointments).

    I have provided all relevant documentation, including screenshots of messages with roadside assistance, and a timeline of events. I believe this situation qualifies for compensation under Turo’s customer satisfaction policies. I trust that Turo values its customers, and I hope you will take this complaint seriously.     My wife went to fill the car up and there was a radio station at the gas station where I filled up. I have the receipt and when I arrived to meet the host I saw that it was not full.     The first car I rented on the island of Oahu should NOT be on your platform. 140K plus miles---The headlight was out, the car barely started, and the owner (a bunch of guys who were running their own business) knew it! They came to where I was staying to fix the light, and replace the battery, but the car wasn't even safe to drive, it was shaking when you hit anything over 20mph! I picked up the car at 8 pm (in the dark) and text them immediately, ONLY drove 5 miles. They came at 8 am... and I returned the car only later that afternoon because I had no ride to where I was staying AND STILL GOT CHARGED AN ENTIRE DAY $52!!!

He told us to purchase his "shuttle transfer for $35" but failed to remind us that it doesn't start until 7 am and our flight was 8 am... So we had to get Uber too... Not impressed on this visit...     This experience with Turo rep and host are really frustrating. I have not received the promised reimbursement of airport ticket. See details. Turo, please protect your guests and remove this host from your list. A lot of problems given to us by this host, Freddy. He ruined the whole first day of our trip, deceived and lied to us. I will also reach out to US public safety and transportation regarding this issue. It is really traumatizing what we went through, we were physically, emotionally and financially drained. We don’t want another victim on this scheme.

    Let me share what happened to us. I booked a rental van thru Turo app from dates Oct.5 at 3 pm to Oct.11 at 7 pm, van delivery to and from Newark airport. When we landed the airport, I saw a message from Freddy that he left the van in an airport parking spot unlocked with the keys and parking ticket inside. With the heat of the sun, a lot of luggages, empty stomach, and tiredness from the flight, we walked very far to the parking spot that Freddy told us (pls note I have in my family 3 senior citizens and one 9 y/o minor). Only to find out, he left a different van. I contacted him he said the vehicle he uploaded in Turo photos is not available so he gave us a different one, without informing us prior.

    When we opened the van, there is no space for our luggages (the van that I booked has a huge space at the back). Inside the van, it’s really dirty, full of fluid splashes on the walls, dust, holes on the chair covers, fluid splatter and shoe prints on the chairs, and a hole on the ceiling from a broken aircon window. On the outside, a big indention at the back apparently from an accident, missing van parts on the side, different color of tire rims, a lot of bird poops, and rain marks. On the technical aspect, various signage popping out on the screen, not stopping all throughout our ride to airbnb, it says low tire pressure, headlight bulb issue, oil change reminder (i) and (!) icon, defective airbags, no wiper fluid, and disturbing clunking noise when the van is moving (I have uploaded all of the photos and evidences in Turo).

    When we exit the airport parking, we saw that Freddy parked the van since 12NN and we paid for the ticket. This is not included in our agreement, he did not mention that he will have me pay the parking nor asked for my permission to do so. I thought that he will drop off the van the exact time and location in my booking, same as the usual routine when I booked in Turo. I took photos and reported the condition of the van to Freddy, his reply was “If you don’t like the van, return it to me. That’s simple”. I tried to call him but he’s not answering. Me and my family decided to cancel all of our itineraries on the first day of our trip, until we resolve this safety issues.

    I called Turo, spoke to 5 different agents, and I’ve been on the phone for more than 6 hours, most of them stating they have system issues until I finally spoke with their supervisor. They asked us to return Freddy’s van to the airport same parking spot in order to cancel him, we waited in the parking lot for 2 hours on the phone waiting for Turo agent’s instruction. However, they cannot find for a vehicle replacement, they said it should be same category or lower, or else I will shoulder the additional costs. Only the deluxe van is available and I had to pay $420 for this. By 12 midnight, Turo agent was able to secure this deluxe van, we paid for it and traveled 34 minutes from the airport to pick up the deluxe van. We went back to our Airbnb at 2:40 am, tired and felt cheated.

    I am dissatisfied with my experience because although the host had great communication before and during the trip, the vehicle was not ready to be driven as it was not sanitized nor cleaned and was making a loud noise occasionally over 60 mph, no freon in the vehicle making the a/c barely blow, and were in Houston. I notified the host and still kept the vehicle despite the lack of readiness due to immediately needing a vehicle to move my things out of storage.

    I also kept it another day, yet I was charged for an invoice and wasn’t informed what I was being charged until I reached out to customer service. I wrongfully informed to dispute through email and was unable to had to go on the website. Upon being able to dispute the situation, I was sent pictures that was not provided in the invoice.     I used Turo on a recent trip for business in Grand Rapids Michigan. I absolutely loved the convenience and accuracy of this service. I travel often for work, and I am often in need of a rental car. I find it very frustrating that often you are provided a generalization of the type of vehicle you will get, but you do not get to pick your vehicle. Additionally, even if the vehicle is equipped with Apple Car Play and/or GPS, the rental company charges you additional fees to use this daily. I find Apple Car Play a must for me when I travel, due to the easy and convenient mapping features.

    With Turo, I was able to pick the exact vehicle I wanted to rent, and was provided all the features available with the vehicle prior to selecting the vehicle. There were no additional fees for Apple Car Play and/or GPS, and one of my favorite features of all.... I got to skip the long line at the rental counter. There is nothing worst after a long day of traveling, than to have to wait another hour at the rental counter waiting to check out your vehicle. A couple other features I love about Turo, is that they allow you to use a debit card when renting the vehicles. Most rental companies do not, and if they do they require a significant deposit that takes days to clear from your account.

    This last summer I schedule a family trip in the mountains, and my daughter who is 24 years old, wanted to rent a car for the trip. The rental agencies either would not allow her to rent a car because she wasn't 25 years old, or they charged additional fees daily for her to rent the car. She was able to rent a car on Turo without any of that hassle. Finally, Turo allows you to have more than one driver registered to drive the vehicle with no extra fees. You only need to verify the driver thru the app. I will never use a rental car agency again... I love this app.

    What I appreciate most about Turo is being able to pick out the exact vehicle I want and being sure that's the one I'm going to get when I arrive. As a guest I'd like to be able to better filter cars be features. For example, the Hyundai Palisade. There are multiple trim levels. I only want the top calligraphy edition with the massaging drivers seat and air conditioned seats and am willing to pay more for it. It's hard to search for it though and you have to wade through a lot of regular palisades. I don't think Turo should be penalizing hosts if guests choose not to leave a review.

    Buyer beware!!! In July, 2024, I began the process to rent a car in Portland, Maine, for ten days in October. I was traveling Down east to bury the ashes of my mother and father. Found a car offered by Andre in Portland, on Turo, that fit my needs and rented it. Had to change the original rental dates due to airline changing flight schedules to the Portland airport and did that with Andre's acknowledgement, using Turo's web service. Then, a week before I was to leave on Oct 12th (Columbus Day weekend), the billing arrived. Andre had increased his rental charges by over $300. I reached out to Andre who claimed not to know why his rental charges changed. He directed me to Turo's Help Line. They explained that, after I rented his car, Andre had increased the daily cost with 'surge pricing' to reflect the Columbus Day holiday weekend.

    I related all of this to Andre and asked for an explanation. In the middle of our conversation, Andre abruptly and without notice to me cancelled my entire reservation. At such a late date before a holiday weekend I couldn't get another car at my original quoted price. Had to cancel my entire trip. Called Turo to lodge a formal complaint against Andre. First, Turo sent me a message that they'd closed my 'case'. I called their 'Help' line again (they don't accept complaints via text, you see) and spoke to 'Jay' who could barely speak English. After explaining what happened and asking to lodge a formal and specific complaint against Andre, 'Jay' at Turo Help Line reported that he'd written down my details and reported that Andre would be fined $160 for canceling my car.

    Jay could not read back his notes of our call. Andre is still ahead at least $150 on his car rental income. Turo cannot/will not provide me a transcript or any other proof of my complaint against Andre and, since I 'never completed the contract' there's no record of Andre's appalling actions in cancelling my rental - I can't post my experience on his account page. Buyer beware! Avoid Turo. There are much more reliable options.

    I have nothing but 5 star reviews by hosts and rent a car about 1 to 2 times a month. Turo randomly and without notice/or reasoning blocked me from renting cars all because I used my wife's card by accident on my account to rent a car. I have 7 other cards on my account as well. They said I was fraud and if I want to rent another vehicle then they require a credit card to be put on file. This is the worst experience I have ever had. You would think that they would treat a customer that treats other hosts vehicles as If they are theirs as well as someone who rents vehicles through them often with respect and dignity. I have been treated like dirt via their support team with absolutely no help in this matter and forget about asking for a supervisor because you will never talk to one. I would have highly recommended Turo before this experience but now that I know that they undervalue their customers. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
