I cannot stress heavily enough how awful this company is. They claim to be a middleman to make the process of obtaining a working holiday visa and finding work in your country of choice easier, which they absolutely do not do. Before they will even start helping you with anything they require over a thousand pounds. After paying this, you are no closer to obtaining the working holiday visa. What do you get for the money? A few links emailed to you from which you fill out all the paperwork yourself. A thousand pounds. They will then try to scare you into only getting insurance and flights through them, at twice the usual cost.
All of the services they provide you can easily do yourself. Then they will help you find a job, by which I mean they will email you a few links to online job postings. You then, again, fill them out yourself. (The place I ended up working at their suggestion was by far the worst job I've ever had with the most heartless management possible.) I had secured another job through them, that en route to, I got my car stuck on top of a deserted mountain, with nobody around to help. Me and my girlfriend were stranded on this mountain for several days. As soon as we were rescued from the mountain, I let Global and the employer know we would be unable to make it to start work, as I was a car and several thousand dollars down.
Global then promptly dropped us and offered no further help to us for breaking their 'behavioural policy'. Even after explaining that we almost died and couldn't physically make it to our place of employment, they didn't care. Avoid at all costs, this is an opportunistic scam of a company, and couldn't care less about you and only want your money.

We are an arrival & support service designed to make travel easy and stress free. All of our trips are a set price and have a range of trip inclusions. Our Travel Team are there to assist with flights & insurance if you want to book this with us, this is your choice and you don't have to but our team ensure you arrive at the best time.
You can travel solo if you wish, but our customers book our trips to take that stress out of having to organise everything yourself.
You had a dedicated Arrival Coordinator who was there every step of the way to assist with your trip. You were placed at one of our Partner Organisations, you may have had to submit part of your application yourself due to some organisations having an internal system, however this would have been organised through us.
We are sorry to hear about the accident that you had and we hope you are ok. We were trying to work with you to offer bus routes and alternative options etc to get you to your job, but you said you were not able to make it. We suggested to delay your start date even by 3 months if you needed, but you said you could not make it. This partner hires relatively year-round, so they would have been able to accommodate a later start date for you.

Global Work and Travel is pushy over the phone and don't cover all policy with you until you've already made a purchase. I booked a trip before covid and they canceled it on me but refused to provided a refund to protect their own profits instead of helping out me and people like me who were in the thick of a pandemic. To this day I have not been given a refund for $3400 I spent. They offer a less than 50% refund and cite the policy they never even cover with you. It's absolute bull. Never trust companies like this one. They don't care about you.

We have established a high level of flexibility with our trips precisely because we understand that circumstances can change. If you are unable to travel at the time you originally booked for, we offer options such as pushing back your trip, putting it on hold, or even swapping to another trip. We aim to provide our customers with alternatives that suit their changing needs.

I began my journey with Global Work and Travel in September of 2022. I had paid a total of 3500 dollars for medical forms(500) initial deposit (1600), visa payments (500) insurance (900) not including flights. I kept trying to contact about booking flights in September- Initial quote was 1500 return. Global work and travel never got back to me to pay for my flights. It is now a month before I am meant to be flying out and I have been quoted 4000 dollars flights Au to New York! What a ripoff. Won’t be going as I’m not paying 7000 for a working trip where I am getting paid 2800 American which is 4000 Australian. Working 12 hour days five days a week for three months. I’m practically working for free as my initial deposit is in my contract as paid wages. This company has been sued by the Queensland government before in 2016. I wish I had not been ignorant of this.
I am unsure if I will be able to get a refund of my insurance and deposit. I will be contacting the Queensland Commission of Regulation about this and see if I can make a claim. Also it turns out the deposit fee is only meant to be 495 dollars. Why was I quoted 1600 dollars? Also my flights and all documents were meant to be sorted out three months before I was meant to be travelling. Seems this company is not following its only policy. Alarm bells should be ringing. I’m feeling very saddened by this as I was looking forward to my trip to America. The amount and time and effort and money I put into this trip I will not be able to get back. I wish someone had warned me of this company.

As you mentioned, our Summer Camp program requires that participants have their visa before we can start looking into flights. We understand that changes can happen quickly with this program, which is why we have this policy in place to ensure that participants have all necessary documentation before booking flights.
We do see that there were delays in getting your documents completed and your visa approved. Our team did reach out to you several times to help with this process, but we understand that these delays may have impacted your ability to book flights at a more affordable rate. If you do wish to book your own flight than use our flexi fares this is also completely ok to do!

Updated on 11/29/2022: I filed a BBB claim against their questionable practices. They said they will not refund the $247 they took from my account without authorization. Apparently it costs them $247 to take $247 from me. Please don’t get scammed like I did.
Original Review: I paid $1 to register and explore the site more fully. I am currently unemployed and was looking into teaching abroad. A week later that took $248 out of my account! Now it’s going to take 7-10 business days to get a refund?!? Thanks for the not so happy Thanksgiving.

After you paid your initial $1 deposit and completed your booking forms, there is a checklist which outlines what happens next. One of the next steps was for you to set up a payment plan that best suits you. If you do not set up a payment plan during this time, you are automatically set up in our cheapest bi-weekly plan, with the first installment commencing after 14 days of booking. We also outline this in our booking terms & conditions which you agreed to upon registering with us.
Our team did try to call, email & text you a number of times for 2 weeks to discuss your trip and payment plan with you. Unfortunately we did not receive a response from you so you were automatically set up in the payment plan as outlined above.
We have asked one of our department managers to reach out to you to discuss your concerns further!

Global Work & Travel have done a great job of organising my trip to Canada for the 2022/23 ski season, the experience has definitely made life easier, and having that extra layer of security is added peace of mind. Maria was my arrivals coordinator and she was really nice and helpful, always going the extra step to ensuring I was up to date with what was coming up. I had access to plenty of resources to review so I could find the ideal location to be based, also suggestions and advice from someone based in CA. Super happy with my arrival into Canada, as well as the job that we managed to find. After my experience I would recommend Global to anyone that wants to travel but is a bit unsure about a lot of the logistics. Everything that is available and the people helping you out definitely made the experience a whole lot better.

Eimear my arrival coordinator has been amazing throughout my process to begin my journey to Canada making me feel at ease about any stresses I had in the moving process. Eimear was very welcoming and friendly on my arrival to Canada for orientation. Eimear continues to be a great help answering any questions I may have throughout my stay. I was interested in one of their trips to Japan for language learning through Global Work & Travel, and thought that the experience would be right up my alley as I have been interested in traveling to Japan as well as learning the language more than I have by simply studying on my own. The experience I've had with the customer service from the travel coordinator I was assigned has been exemplary so far. Very detailed and thorough with helping me finalize the necessary documentation, as well as to just chat about the trip and share resources for things to do once there and our shared interest in the travel destination! Extremely easy to talk to and quick to respond to any questions I may have as well as looking into more details on their end to get back to me if my query isn't a common one.
I look forward to any further contact as I know it will be helpful and easy to navigate so that my trip can go smoothly. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested. I'll have to make another review once I actually have my trip for how that goes. 10/10 would get customer serviced again!

I used Global Work & Travel to become an au pair in Paris and it was a great experience. Everyone who works there is kind and accommodating, especially my au pair coordinator, Julie-Anne. I had some trouble with getting my visa on time and Julie-Anne was able to assure me that everything was going to be okay and that I would still be able to go to France even if I was a bit late. She listened to me and was very helpful with explaining what to do. I would definitely use Global Work & Travel again!

Global were of the utmost assistant upon me deciding to embark upon my Canadian Working Holiday Visa. Their experienced advisors put me at ease from the start by answering any queries I had. They've been there after I landed in Canada and went to my destinations during winter and summer and have always been good in getting back to me with any questions I've had so far while abroad. The Getaways inclusion which is new this year is also superb as it meant I got to see Vegas and the Grand Canyon which was an experience to say the least.

I signed up with Global in April 2022 for a working holiday trip to Canada. Along the way, I was assigned Maria as my arrival coordinator, and we have been in frequent contact since, organising my trip for the past few months. Maria is an enthusiastic and friendly person who helped make the whole process much easier for me. She provided me with a range of information and suggestions about things I should do and see in Canada. Maria helped secure me a job on the mountain with Sunshine Village in Banff, with staff accommodation, which I am very grateful for. I am loving my trip so far and am excited for the future. I am a first time traveller internationally and was seeking to move and work in Canada which is where I stumbled across Global Work and Travel and I couldn’t have done the jump as smoothly had I tried to do this on my own. All the staff at global are responsive and organised to the point where it eliminates any stress in the planning process. Global covers all facets of the journey in assisting in information on the visa process, flights, resumes, employment guidance and any fun activities in between. I couldn’t recommend enough! For my personal travels Having a Vancouver office is extremely handy for when you need any guidance or assistance along the way if you seek it (shout out to Eimear at vancouver HQ for being so responsive and accommodating).

Planning to move your life overseas is very stressful, however with the help from my Trip coordinator Julie Anne I was supported throughout the whole experience. I was provided with guidance and support at any hour of the day which made the overall experience stress free.

I came to Canada with the help of Global Work & Travel Agency. They are helping me make my dreams and goals come true. They made the application process and the whole moving process a lot easier and made me feel safe in a foreign country, thousands of miles away from home. I can rely on my coordinator Eimear, who has been helping in any way she knows and can, gives me advice and is my rock! Couldn't do it without her. :) Absolutely would go with them all over again!

Do NOT arrange your working or volunteer trip with Global Work and Travel. They charge huge amounts of money for NOTHING. $1800- for promises that never materialize. $1800- for 4 nights in a hostel that you can book yourself for $20.00 per night!! They promise to help set up jobs, assist with visa processing. NOT TRUE. They were not even aware of the cost of a working NZ visa. Was told 280- and was actually 455-. Only contact was from sales person looking to sell flights and over priced travel insurance. They insist on full payment up front, claim to have a generous cancellation policy, but when trying to get a response regarding cancellation, we were stalled until it was too late to receive even 50% of the money back. My daughter saved for 18 months only to lose $1800-. It is NOTHING but a hard sell travel agency. DO not fall victim to their pushy sales tactics. They offer NOTHING for your money.

Our Working Holiday Trips have a huge range of trip inclusions not just 4 nights of hostel accommodation. Our trips come with pre departure support, airport transfer, arrival activities such as wildlife sanctuary pass, surf lesson, hinterland tour, Great Barrier Reef boat trip, plus bank account assistance, sim card, tax number, job interviews plus loads more!
The cost of visas can change so apologies this wasn't updated with your daughter soon and she was not aware, however we update our documents as soon as possible but unfortunately visa costs can change with no notice.
When booking our trips all of our customers have to read and agree to our booking terms & conditions. This is clearly outlined so all of our customers are aware what the fees are if they need to cancel their trip.
Your daughter would have received a number of options if she was unable to travel including being able to push her trip back until the time was right or swap to another trip.
We have assisted thousands of customers on their trips overseas & we are confident that your daughter would have had an incredible trip if she travelled with us.

I had loads of help from Global Work and Travel and they made my first solo trip come true which was amazing. There is a few downfalls Though. I feel like I didn’t get enough information about the place I was visiting. I got told that 800 pounds wouldn’t have been enough for my flight there and back so did that myself and got flights for my budget. They did take a lot of the stress away like when you paid for everything they sort the Insurance out which help take stress away from me. They didn’t contact me as much as I would have liked especially throughout Covid as I’d already paid for most of everything and I would have to contact them. My travel Coordinator got changed three times so found it hard to email and get in touch with someone that could help. I did have an amazing time though and I’m definitely want to return there.

I have had a good experience with Global Work and Travel. A lot of swapping with my travel coordinator which lead to some lack of communication and confusion although once I was assigned Julie-Anne my experience significantly improved. She has a vast array of knowledge and experience in travel and Au Pairing and was able to put me at ease and make me feel safe during a tricky situation whilst I have been abroad. I felt she genuinely cared about my safety and happiness while Au Pairing.

Off the bat when I signed up I had a phone call telling me about my trip and everything I need to do and get in order. I then had another phone call a few months later explaining my flights, travel insurance and such. I then had a video call with my au pair manager months after who explained to me how the process works with finding a family. Every step of the way I had help to get me to my destination and if I had questions everyone was quick to respond and get back to me.
The only thing that stressed me out was not knowing what luggage was included with my flight and getting told I would pay more than what I actually did for checked bags. I also was stressed about meeting my au pair manager 2 months before I was scheduled to leave and worried I wouldn’t find a family in time. I would say maybe have the au pair manager meetings months in advance and starting to look for families sooner rather than later to ease stress. Especially because in the beginning I was told I need at least 4 months before I leave to start searching for a family. Overall everyone was so helpful and kind. :)

Global was helpful when it came to prepare our departure. The phone number and bank process was easy. The activities promised in London happened and were accurate. They answered emails quickly and in details. Only hiccup was the flight booking. I travelled with a friend and didn’t expect to pay extra for the plane ticket I already paid for, a week before leaving the country. I thought the flight price wouldn’t change if we paid in advance like they said at the beginning. But it’s alright. Quite expensive but as my first big trip I’m happy I had them to guide me through.

The experience with traveling to Japan and learning Japanese was good. I enjoyed coming back to Japan while studying for the N3 test. I am looking forward to reusing the program before the test next year. The time, effort, and constant adjustment was good. The only issue was getting the visa set up prior to leaving (adjustment). Other than that, it was very solid.

Not worth the money, the actual pastoral help they give you on your trip is next to none. They essentially just upsell you everything and apply a LOT of pressure and time deadlines for you to pay out, over charge for flights insurance, phone plans, etc., etc. For the money you pay they really help you with very little. Read the small text. 6 month obligations for work placements, very strict about sticking to those contracts in order to ‘keep the company's reputation’. Majority of placements will be with big corp hotels where they treat you badly. You can do so much better on your own, just have the confidence to get out there and you’ll meet loads of people in the hostels you stay at and find places to stay without them! You don’t need to pay them thousands for the little help they give. I promise you!

Your Trip Coordinator was in touch with you frequently in the lead up to your arrival checking in with you every step of the way and they continue to stay in touch with you. They last spoke to you just last month, which is 6 months after your arrival.
We are surprised to hear you think we have given you very little help as we assisted you with everything you needed on your arrival to Australia. Visa assistance, pre departure support, airport transfer, initial hostel accommodation, orientation session, bank account set up, sim card, arrival inclusions such as the Hinterland tour and surf lesson plus so much more assistance along the way.
Before you arrived, we set you up with a job interview at a luxury resort in Byron Bay. One of the most sought after locations in Australia. You felt this wasn’t the best fit for you, so you declined the role.. We then set up another interview in Sydney, which you also declined. We then organised an interview with one of our partners at a ski resort, which unfortunately you declined. You discussed with your Trip Coordinator that you were looking at other options.
All of our partners and our trip have a minimum 6 month commitment. We make this very clear on our website and also in our booking terms & conditions and it’s also discussed with your Trip Coordinator to ensure you are eligible for our trip. As I am sure you can appreciate, businesses don’t want to train new staff for them to leave just a couple of months later.
We are partnered with a lot of different hospitality partner organisations all over Australia, from small bars or cafes to bigger hotel chains. Working for a big hotel chain in Australia is a preference for a lot of travellers as it looks great on your resume and an incredible experience. As you didn’t end up working for one of these hotel chains we are unsure why you would say they treat you badly, if you haven’t experienced it yourself.
We do have deadlines in place to ensure we can book everything in for your arrival well in advance and have enough time to organise your job interview. We are sorry if you felt there was any pressure, however our team never wants anyone to miss out on travelling at their preferred time of year.
We are not sure what you mean by phone plans as we do not set you up on a plan at all. You would have received your pre-paid sim card with the first month credit included when you arrived.
Our services are designed to save our customers time, money and stress. We offer a premium service with full support every step of the way for all of our customers. We have dedicated Trip Coordinators who look after each customer before they travel and once they are in their destination country as well. You can travel on your own but many of our customers, especially those who are travelling for their first time, find this process very difficult and don’t want to have that stress to organise it all themselves. Which is exactly what we’re here for, to ensure you arrive in the country, with everything booked in and a job to go to! It’s great to have that peace of mind that you always have someone to turn to for any questions as well.

My travel concierge behaves like an insurance salesman. Stacey has tried to sell me medical travel insurance for nearly $1000 for a 6-month trip to Argentina. When I asked why I needed this insurance, she told me that Argentina requires COVID-19 medical coverage to give out a visa. I asked if I absolutely had to purchase insurance through the company associated with Global Work & Travel, and she said that it is strongly recommended because she wanted to make sure that I met all the requirements to enter the country because she would hate for me to pay all of this money just to be stuck unable to enter Argentina (*more on this later). This felt like a scare tactic to me, so I looked into other insurance companies and purchased insurance for $200 for my 6-month trip instead. I uploaded my coverage letter, and the document was approved by my trip coordinator.
Fast forward two months, and I took the initiative to reach out to my coordinator to make sure that I was all set and approved to go on the trip. Thank God that I did because she responded in the affirmative and told me that I was all set. But the very next day, Stacey calls me and tells me that my coordinator had emailed her to tell her that I didn't qualify to go on my trip because my insurance was "insufficient." I asked if I would have to purchase insurance through Global Work & Travel, and behold, she said yes (even though I had emailed her two months ago with my third party insurance to make sure it would be enough).
When I asked what I needed, she said that I needed travel insurance in addition to COVID-19 medical coverage. I tried to insist that my insurance company had assured me that I would not be denied a visa and that my coordinator didn't mention this and had already approved me for travel, but Stacey kept replying with, “I don’t know what to tell you. I’m just doing my job. I would hate for you to miss out on your trip because you couldn’t enter the country. I actually had this happen to a traveler three days ago.”
When I kept questioning why I suddenly needed travel insurance when this was NEVER mentioned before, she got a little testy and kept repeating that she was just doing her job and didn’t know what to tell me. She then told me to email my trip coordinator and ask her, which seemed strange to me because isn’t that her job? Stacey is the one who called me claiming that my coordinator had said I no longer qualified for this trip, so isn’t it on them to figure out if there was miscommunication? Regardless, this actually made me look into the visa requirements for myself, and the Argentinian government website actually states that the ONLY visa requirement for a U.S. citizen is a current passport.??? I emailed my coordinator who affirmed again that I was quite eligible for my trip and that it was just miscommunication.
So my questions are:1. Why did Stacey call me a month from my departure date with this frightening warning of how I won’t be able to go on this trip because of my insurance? It feels like a high pressure tactic meant to panic me into purchasing $1000 of insurance that I didn’t need.
2. Why was I told by Stacey months ago that I absolutely NEEDED insurance in order to get a visa when this turned out to be untrue according to the Argentinian government’s own website? I'm willing to assume that maybe Argentina had recently loosened its visa requirements.
3. Why the “I don’t know what to tell you. I’m just doing my job” when I was confused about conflicting information? Absurdly unprofessional.
4. What is up with this “miscommunication”? Was I just lucky that I got it in writing a day ahead that I had all of my documents in order? Did my trip coordinator actually email Stacey about travel insurance?
OH! And they pressure you into buying the plane ticket from them as well. The same ticket costed $300 more through them, but it was “recommended” because they will help you reschedule your flight in case it got cancelled (but doesn’t the airline do that anyways?). On a positive note, for the most part, my trip coordinators were communicative and professional. Stacey was also professional and agreeable up until our last interaction. I would almost recommend this company to others, but only as long as you are ready to advocate for yourself and do some research on your own. I will be back to update this review after I actually depart for my trip. Fingers crossed.

As a complete beginner traveler, the service provided was great. The co-coordinators made everything very straightforward and easy to understand throughout the application process which reduced any stress. From start to finish, my whole experience with Global Work & Travel has exceeded expectations. Tiare has been overly helpful with the process of attaining my VISA and getting me over to Canada. I am extremely appreciative of the job she has done. Mark's orientation was absolutely perfect to the point where all my questions were answered, couldn't have been better.

Kim was great in adapting to my needs especially when the first couple interview options didn’t suit my preference for my working holiday. She was able to find me what I wanted. When I arrived she helped me with questions I had and welcomed me into the Global office to assist me.

Booking my summer camp USA trip was really easy with Global Work and Travel. Hayden and Stacey were the best and helped with any questions I had before and during my trip! It is a big relief to know you have someone to contact when you're on the other side of the world. What a trip! I had a really amazing time Volunteering in a school to help teach English. I don't know if I would have gone to the Galapagos without this trip, though it was always a bucket list trip for me. There were a few hiccups, like there would be for any trip. But some things that made me a little uneasy before I went was that my travel coordinators kept changing and frequently. Though my last one, Jasmine, was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. (I mean they truly all were) I felt a little uneasy because of that. About 1-2 days before my trip, I didn't have the name or addresses of the people I was going to stay with. I asked and they were provided but maybe if they could just attach it to an email, that might be a little better.
Overall, the trip was amazing. Because I only volunteered between 7-1 I was able to do half-day excursions and explore the island without feeling rushed. I ended becoming really great friends with the English teacher I was assisting with. I was able to spend her birthday with her and her family. The people on the island are incredibly kind, the food is very delicious and the environment is absolutely incredible. A once and a lifetime opportunity that I am incredibly grateful for.

Amazing and life-changing experience in Nepal. This program has not only been an incredible opportunity to do something meaningful by working at an orphanage but it also has allowed me to immerse myself in the wonderful Nepali culture. I can’t recommend Jennifer enough, she was constantly in contact with me via email and zoom the whole time trying to ensure my experience was exactly how I wanted it to be, was very considerate about what I did and didn’t want and kept me updated along the whole way. She was fabulous at orientation day with calming nerves and ensuring me that She would only be a call away whenever I needed! Jen is amaze!

Jennifer was extremely helpful with the whole process. She was always happy to help with any issues I had and she even reached out to me multiple times to check in on me and make sure I was okay. There were some times that I was really struggling on this trip and she made things so much easier. I wouldn’t have coped without her assistance.

I was a little cautious at first but as my departure approached my team (especially Kate) were amazing. They were able to get me and my friend a job that we had no prior experience in as well as in the exact location I had asked for. It is a bit pricey but they do their best to get what you asked for.

Ellen was so helpful especially as it was booked at the start of Covid so we even changed trips and dates more than once. Nothing was too much trouble and we had an amazing trip to Namibia where we volunteered with the community building a rock wall to protect their water and then out tracking the elephants.

This company has helped me move and find work in Dublin Ireland. I am very happy that I decided to go with them. Their staff are very nice, and very helpful. Stacey was great at helping me figure out my flights, and getting my Visa in order. She was very helpful and patient with me as I figured everything out. Jennifer helped me find a great job right in the city center. She is very nice and great at answering all my questions. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend! I had booked and paid in full for a volunteer trip to Thailand. I had confirmed the time I would like to go three times during the 12 months coming up to my trip. But they never reserved my spot or confirmed my trip. Even though I have a welcome email that clearly states, quote: "in order for us to lock-in your Project Intake date with our Destination Office, so they can allocate accommodation and transfers for you, and be able to prepare for your stay in general, we will require the Trip Balance settled". I had done this. I paid the trip balance in full. Their gWorld app and my trip coordinator all said I was going in November. I even have a text message to my coordinator again confirming I wanted to be booked in for the November intake. But then I called them, 4 months before my trip just to confirm all the details and check everything was all okay.
Only to be told on a call that lasted no longer than 4 minutes, that I was no longer able to go on the trip I had had booked, scheduled and paid for, for well over a year. They said I could do another trip and that the trip was never confirmed. So paying in full does not confirm my trip, as indicated by their time and save me a spot. And confirming via text message does not confirm my trip. Very frustrating. The fact I could no longer go on the trip was never communicated with me until I called them. No emails, no phone calls. Nothing. Just a holiday I can no longer go on because they overbooked the intake.

My trip coordinator, Nichola was absolutely brilliant in letting me know everything I needed before I left for my summer camp. She was very helpful in reminding me of deadlines. The only issue I had was with my travel concierge- I was given a flight time so I booked travel arrangements around that but they gave me the flight proposal 4 days after I was meant to get it so it was fully booked. So they gave me a different flight but I still lost money on trains/airport travel.

Nichola and Kieran were very helpful with booking and organising my trip, they took care of everything for me and made sure my travel and accommodation was sorted. Piper has been my travel concierge and has helped me greatly through the process of getting me over to the UK! Any questions I had were answered + more. I would highly recommend GWT to any of my friends / family if they were first time travelers like myself. Only somewhat negative comment I have would be the change of departure dates because my flights were booked pretty late, but I don't know if that's from the company's end or COVID affecting the amount of flights, so I'm very understanding. Piper has been nothing but amazing. I really appreciated all the help that the team at Global Work and Travel provided me with. With all the bare bones and necessities they were able to provide was really beneficial for someone like myself being a first time traveller for an extended amount of time. Managed to meet some others who were also travelling with Global Work and Travel and they were absolutely beautiful human beings. One of them actually got a job in the same area as me so I'll be keeping in touch with them. Everyone who helped me sort out everything and the team in particular were incredibly helpful and polite, and were always there to count on if I ever needed any questions answered. I made an enquiry to Global Work and Travel (GWT) about a working holiday overseas 2 years ago but because of the border restrictions I was concerned about it going ahead, so I contacted my trip coordinator and was falsely assured I would be safe to travel and return, which was never possible. I was allowed to use half of the funds I had paid, which I did but these flights was cancelled due to yet another border closure. I tried to rebook and they wanted to charge me the same amount as if I booked independently, not including what I had already paid - so this means flights would have been DOUBLE the amount they were worth through GWT. Absolutely ridiculous.
GWT used manipulative tactics to try and leech more money from me by asking for unexpected additional fees after booking. I requested a full refund as it has been two years and I have paid them hundreds of dollars without any goods or service to show for it. They promised to "request a refund" for me from the airlines but have since ignored my attempts to follow it up and it's been two months since the request for refund.

We are sorry to hear that this is how you feel about your experience with us. We understand that you have been in contact with our team who have explained everything to you, but we would like to take this time to clarify a couple of your concerns for you and also other readers.
Unfortunately COVID affected so many of our travellers plans to travel. We had quite a number of travellers leave during COVID as a number of our trips were running, but we completely understand for anyone who wanted to put their trip on hold or not travel at the time they were supposed to. You decided that you wanted to cancel your trip, and you were offered a travel credit with us.
Normally with our travel credits, this excludes domestic travel. However, our team as a gesture of goodwill, made an exception for you and allowed you to use this credit towards a domestic flight.
Our team went above and beyond to assist you with your travel needs, however due to COVID you were unable to go on this domestic trip. We cancelled your flight with the airline, and at the time the airline said this was non refundable and offered a credit. This is a standard procedure for domestic airlines.
However, we were able to get a waiver from the airline and they have offered a refund, which can take up to 12 weeks to process, which our team advised. Once we have received the refund we will let you know & this will be applied back to your account as a travel credit with us. We have sent a follow up to the airline but unfortunately for now this is out of our hands until the airline gets back to us. We completely understand this can be frustrating waiting, however this is down to the airline and their wait times.

Kieran was very helpful and was able to answer any questions I had about flying i.e flight cost, tickets, forms etc. He always got back to me and answered all my questions even the stupid ones. He made the whole process seem less stressful.

Very good organisation skills from the people who work here, everything was organised for me from start to finish, as this was my first time doing any travel and they made everything so much easier for me with setting up accounts, visas, etc. The responses were always up to date and extremely well organised, and also very friendly people. Would highly recommend this for a first time traveller or someone who would need assistance with organising things! :)

I booked a working holiday in New Zealand with Global Work & Travel and they helped me massively get everything organised, what I thought would be a stressful process was a lot easier with the help of the trip coordinators. In particular my arrival coordinator Kate was amazing at helping me get everything in order and was reassuring when things didn't go to plan. If you have never solo traveled like myself I would definitely recommend GWT just to give yourself and your a family a peace of mind that there is support available throughout the whole process.

When booking a trip with this company (which I was forced to as they took the money from my travel partner before discussing it with me), no one knew how bad COVID was going to get. A few months after paying, the entire world shut down and even that wasn't a good enough excuse for Global to give our money back to us. They have stolen over $2000 from me and refuse to give it back by claiming that "I knew what I was getting into with their COVID policy" - no. No, I didn't. No one did. Then I get told one thing by an online coordinator, the very next day I get told something else and thus my G-World account (holding my money) is deactivated.
Rethink everything you know about this company and be smart - book everything yourself. Save thousands of dollars by using different companies or organising things yourself by asking around travel groups. Trust me - it is NOT worth the effort to book with Global and then everything being cancelled due to COVID and then you've lost 2 grand. Please search around and take note of how many people review the company 5 stars BEFORE they even leave - Global has an initiative for discounts for reviews.

We have replied to your review on another site more in depth but also wanted to cover your concerns here too. Once again we are saddened to receive this review from you as it goes against our vision and purpose.
Firstly, we do not offer any discounts on our trips in exchange for a good review, this is a completely false accusation. We collect reviews from all of our customers throughout their entire trip, from the initial booking stage, pre arrival and when our customers arrive in-country. We have over 11,000 reviews across a number of review platforms, as you can see they are all throughout different stages of their trip including many customers who have arrived in their destination country, and many who have returned home after their full experience and reviewed us.
We would like to clarify that you absolutely did have a choice with booking a trip with us. We in no way can force someone to put their trip deposit down and complete their booking terms and conditions. Your friend reached out to us for more information on our trips, our team called her as requested and registered her for our Working Holiday Trip. She put her trip deposit down and referred you to us. We then called you to ensure you qualified for our trip and went through all the details with you. If you did not want to travel with us, you definitely did not have to register for the trip. Our trip deposits are non-refundable as you have mentioned in your review and we do make this clear throughout the booking process where you must tick a box to confirm you understand and this is also outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
You first registered for your trip on July 28th, 2020, by this time we were in the middle of the pandemic and a lot of the world had already been in a lockdown for a few months. During your booking process, we made it very clear what our COVID policy was, and we confirmed that no one could predict what the pandemic would bring about, but that you understood there was a pandemic, it could affect your trip in a variety of ways, we would work with you to overcome as many COVID issues as possible, but that we wouldn’t be able to provide 100% refunds should you wish to cancel due to COVID. At no point in time did we say you should have known the full effects of COVID, but that it was unpredictable, and by booking a trip with us during a pandemic, you couldn’t try to hold us liable for the result of the pandemic, which you have attempted to do. Had you not personally confirmed your understanding and agreed to this, we would never have accepted your registration request. Our terms and conditions must be read by yourself, and you confirmed you were happy to move forward and personally confirmed that you understood & agreed to them. No one knew how long COVID would go on for or what it would entail, including the CDC, or any other organisation or government body, but to ensure you were aware of potential outcomes and to give you time to think about whether you wanted to book travel during a pandemic, we updated our booking terms and conditions for anyone such as yourself, who was booking in the middle of a pandemic, to ensure you were aware of what it might entail and that it could affect your trip. From here, you paid your trip off in two installments over the next two weeks.
We understand that you have spoken with our support team who have already reviewed your concerns thoroughly. They have offered you a 50% refund of your trip balance in line with your booking terms & conditions or a 100% trip credit that can be used towards our trips. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes after booking a trip with us which is why we are unable to provide full refunds. Both options you have been given are very reasonable, are in line with your booking terms and conditions, and are in line with the agreement you made with us when you first requested to register for your trip during a pandemic.
Once again, we are sorry to hear that this is how you feel, but we want to thank you for taking the time to leave your opinion of your experience and for also allowing us the opportunity to respond as well. We wish you all the best for your future travels Emilee!

At first, I was skeptical about going through an organisation to complete my travel arrangements, flights etc because I had always thought it’d be overpriced but then I came across Global work travel and within the first phone call that you receive after enquiring about a certain trip, they were just super honest, helpful and communicated really well throughout the transition process. My stress and worries were all taken care of once I got started with global work travel. I had Tammy as my travel concierge and I can definitely say, if it wasn’t for her help I’d still be questioning whether or not I should go. I am halfway through my trip in Thailand. It has been truly an amazing experience so far. The quarantine in Patong wasn’t too bad as I was able to go to the beach every day. It was stressful though waiting for my RT-PCR test results to come in but thank goodness everything came in negative. When I first arrived I had to quarantine 6 to 8 hours which was no big deal as I was tired from the trip and happy to stay in my room to rest anyway.
My team members who helped me were highly professional, incredibly supportive and thorough. It was quite a challenge getting into Thailand but they helped me every step of the way to make it happen. I’m so happy to be here now. Working with the children is exactly as I had hoped. It truly is a beautiful way to work and travel in a meaningful way. I look forward to hopefully many more adventures through global work and travel.

I was planning to go to participate in one of the Camp America trips they offered for the 2022 season. I had settled my payments totalling $1500NZD and was about to begin the next stage of adding police, medical and visa checks. A few days after my final payment had gone through my mother was diagnosed with early-onset dementia where the doctor had asked myself to be present with my Mother almost at every hour of the day as she unfortunately was deteriorating very quickly. Upon learning this I immediately emailed my trip advisor to cancel my trip assuming that on the grounds of a possible medical exemption I would get a full or at least a 50% refund. Keep in mind this is over 5 months from when I was due to depart New Zealand.
On top of this almost the second they read the world cancel in my email to them they had locked my ability to access the contract I had signed and viewing the Covid-19 agreement surrounding cancelling, transfering or rebooking your trip. This is incredibly shady and goes against many of New Zealand's laws regarding transparency around product quality and cancellations even with Covid being factored into the conversation.
If you are looking for a reliable and transparent agency to plan your next working holiday DO NOT BOOK with this company unless you are able to physically visit one of their branches. Even though this company was founded in Australia they are bound by the business practices and SOP's of whichever country the client is hailing from. I would elaborate further on the other shortcomings of the contracts and the Covid-19 agreement form however I have been locked out from even viewing these documents and I haven't even received a cent back or even the store credit they mentioned you would get back after a 50% CANCELLATION FEE!!! These people have effectively run away with $1500 of my money which could make a massive different in the cost of now looking after my medically unable mother.

Our trips come with ultimate flexibility and a lifetime guarantee so if you are unable to travel when you originally wanted to, we do allow you to push your trip back until the time is right with no additional fees. We understand as you mentioned that you can’t travel right now. If you can no longer travel, you are also able to transfer your trip to a friend or family member.
There are many costs involved behind the scenes when you book a trip with us which is why there are cancellation fees in place. These fees are outlined clearly in your booking terms and conditions which you must agree to before you can book a trip with us. These bookings terms & conditions were emailed to you once you registered for your trip, if you no longer have this email, just let our Cancellation Team know and they will email them over to you again. As you are cancelling your trip you no longer have access to your gWorld account as you are no longer looking to travel.
Rather than cancelling your trip and losing any money associated with it, we have offered you a 50% store credit that you can use in the future towards any travel product our travel team retails. This can include international flights, hotels, hostels, tours, car rental plus more. We think this is very reasonable and is something other travel companies are not offering.

My experience with Global Work and travel was a very successful one. Their response rate is fantastic and I found the whole team to be extremely helpful, especially my main trip co-ordinator, Julian **. I was impressed with how quickly he answered any questions I had and really appreciated his re-assurance and problem solving during the COVID pandemic. I liked having someone there to assist you every step of the way. From confirming your trip, organising everything you need for your trip, to sorting out the flights and where to go once you are in the country. I felt I was well supported the whole way through which meant a lot to me as it was my first trip abroad alone. If this is your first time too, I strongly recommend traveling with this company!
I volunteered for the Costa Rica sloth & wildlife rescue sanctuary which I was expecting to do a lot more than was required. All we did was feed the animals, clear out their enclosures and rake leaves. Also it's illegal to take photos of an animal and human together which means NO SELFIES! As well as not being allowed to touch them, I found was quite disappointing. However I would say it's still the best way you'll see the wildlife up close. Especially the baby sloths!

Overall I had a great experience, but did face a few bumps along the way. The description says Hua Hin, but it's really anywhere in Thailand. The staff were always helpful and available when I had doubts/questions. Covid did make things a bit more challenging, but glad I did this because it was an incredible experience!

Both travel coordinators are very helpful and clear. The office is nice and it is nice to have a full breakdown of canada and what to do and what we can do. I do think the hostel could be somewhere that is a bit more safe as the one we are in there are some weird people and only 1 shower per floor.

I've almost finished my quarantine period in Thailand and so far (despite the pandemic) things have gone as smoothly as possible. My Global Work & Travel coordinator Julian has been such a support through the entire process, and he has always been quick to get back to me if anything needed clarifying or if I simply needed questions answered. He has been consistently kind and made me feel more confident than I ever could have been if trying to make a trip like this on my own. My girlfriend and I used Global work and travel to help us get to Canada, with all borders closed and extra restrictions due to covid we felt it was the right move for us. Although there are some negative reviews I came across online I was initially considered however (and we can only speak of our personal experience) it couldn't have been further from the truth, the person we worked most with was Tiare who was our Canadian connect, she literally helped us with everything, from securing us job interviews, for which we have got employment in Banff on a ski resort with staff accommodation, to Assisting us with the visa process, I cannot stress enough that she helped us with every question and every obstacle we faced, from our experience we would highly recommend them to anyone looking to travel. My experience overall with Global has been fantastic. On my home country's end there were a few hiccups but none that were trip stopping. I found that often Global were really interested in talking to me until they had received payment, and then it was like they didn’t want to know me. This was particularly evident when trying to pre book flights and travel insurance. So much so that it actually deterred me from booking travel insurance with you and I went to your provider directly.
I also found that there were specific instances where the global team back in Australia were not up to date with specific information. For example, VAC’s appointment availability, changing travel restrictions interstate and correct information regarding Covid testing. The most disappointing part of my experience with Global was when my travel concierge charged me $140 for my 2nd suitcase, only to tell me the day before I was leaving, that she could not book it for me and I had to do it myself. That money still has not been returned to me by the way. If you could look into that, it would be much appreciated.
Now onto the good stuff. I could not have done this without the help of Global. Sam was fantastic all the way through, so I must give her credit for her sunny disposition and general helpfulness and understanding. Ultimately it was was the willingness to help, the understanding and fantastic communication displayed by the team here in Vancouver that really sold me on the experience and got me over the line. I couldn’t have done it with them.
In particular I would like to mention the efforts of my travel coordinator, Anastasia. She has been my rock all the way through this experience, someone I could rely on and she never let me down. Her communication skills, knowledge and professionalism are second to none. In my humble opinion she deserves a pay rise or at least some recognition of her incredible efforts. What a fantastic team player you have here. Don’t lose her because her contributions are vital to the success of your company. Apart from what is previously mentioned above regarding a few negative experiences, my experience with Global has been overwhelmingly positive.
I do understand with the times we are in, doing what you do could not be easy, so I take my hat off to you for the amazing job you are all doing. If I could offer some overall constructive feedback I would offer that increased transparency, improved proactive communication and honesty (admitting when you don’t know something, or admitting to a mistake) would have improved my experience as a customer.
Other than that, I think it is a bloody miracle that a boy from Brisbane has made his way to Vancouver given the state of world right now, so thank you very much for looking after me! I am going to keep my relationship with global strong as I may book again a trip with you in future (to the UK) and may also send some of my friends your way as referrals! Once again, thank you for helping me realise my dream of coming to Canada!

Unfortunately, because your flight included a domestic flight it would not allow us to do this, which was picked up by our Travel Team. This was a mistake on our end and we do apologise for any inconvenience with this. Our team did call you as soon as they were aware of this and we can see that you will be receiving a refund for this.

It was mediocre. I felt pressured to put money down to do the trip, although I am happy I did the trip and they were a tad flexible with me needing time to decide. Then I didn't hear from Global in a timely manner after I spent a few thousand dollars for the program. When I had difficulty with my VISA being returned on time because the Trip Coordinator, Ellyse didn't give me all the information when needed, it delayed me in getting my VISA, which added to the already difficulty with getting VISAs right now. I didn't feel she was the best source of resource as we were paying Global to assist in getting me to Spain for the teaching program. The TEFL Iberia coordinator was more helpful at getting us the information for our VISA and being accommodating since we missed a week of the course. I think Global is a great idea, but more assistance when paying someone for a service would have been appreciated.

Firstly, we are sorry to hear that you feel as though there was pressure to book your trip! We do have limited spots with all of our trips, even more so now due to COVID-19 so your original Work & Travel Expert would have been trying to make sure you didn’t miss out on when you wanted to go. We have had this happen a number of times in the past with previous customers.
From checking your profile it looks as though you were in regular contact with your Trip Coordinator, Ellyse. As a support & arrival service we do offer general visa guidance with all of our trips. Your Trip Coordinator provided you with our visa guide with step by step instructions on how to apply for your visa, this is a guide only as every consulate in the USA is different. It is up to each traveller to ensure they contact their closest consulate for confirmation of what documents are required as this can change frequently. We find this is the best way to give you the advice to save any wrong information being given.
The closest consulate near you did require you to get your documents apostilled and unfortunately this was delayed due to COVID-19 and was taking 2-3 months to process. There are some consulates in the USA where you don’t need documents apostilled & the process is slightly different, which is why it is important to contact the consulate for the correct advice. Unfortunately COVID-19 made the visa process more difficult than it should have been and your consulate was also not very responsive. We can completely understand how frustrating this would have been, however Ellyse did everything she could to inform you of the process.
It is really great to hear that our in-country partner was really helpful & gave you great advice. This is exactly what they are there for, to support you on your trip pre & post arrival.
We understand that you have also been in touch with Ellyse and she is there if you need anything further. It sounds like you are having a great time in Spain on your Paid Teaching Trip & we hope you continue enjoying all that Spain has to offer.

All they do is make you feel more comfortable with moving away. You show up to a hostel which you completely overpay for. They give you all these “free events”. When you show up to the hostel those events+ more are all already free!? I went for three months relying on them to find me a job which did not happen. I had one interview for a corporate job that other professionals that studied in that field got over me. I had to end up finding a job on my own. MY ADVICE - save your $1000 just move to a hostel. When you show up you will meet sooooo many people easy. Get a job by making a resume and go around and hand them out. Use Seek, Indeed, recruitment agencies or other apps.
I met people from the hostel that worked at Global Work and Travel in the Gold Coast. They even said it’s a rip off and they feel like it’s a joke when they get “random” people over the phone to pay for pretty much nothing. (You even over pay for your flight! Use Sky Scanner or Kayak and you will get much cheaper flights than they offer.) Also they are sooo nice (fake) when you show up to the office in Gold Coast just show you basic directions of the city and stuff, all things you can find on Google. They tell you there’s plenty of jobs blah blah blah, Then right after as they stare at your screen they get everyone to fill out a review for their website, (when you’re all excited) that is the reason it has so many 5 stars.
Also from my experience, my “global coordinator” was always very nice on work hours asking all these questions over the phone to me, making sure I was paying, then I met in person at the office all good. I see her in public off of work hours and I’m like, "Hey how are you!" Got a eye roll and walks away like I was a hated old friend or something, like I was the last person she ever wanted to see! Just to get a call the next week “Hi Ryan!! How are you? hope you're well! How was your week?” SO FAKE! Definitely not happy with this company and have told almost everyone I know NOT to register with global, I felt like I was scammed! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

As an arrival & support service, this is exactly what we are here for. We want to ensure you feel supported & comfortable in moving to another country for a long time, as if things don’t work out it would be a large waste of time & money otherwise if you had to return home early (not to mention embarrassing). Our dedicated team is there from start to finish with your trip to answer any questions that you have and ensure you have a smooth arrival into a new country, taking out the stress of travelling on your own - not to mention the months of preparation and guidance before you even leave home.
Our Working Holiday Trip to Australia comes with a number of trip inclusions, such as initial accommodation, airport transfer, arrival activities, orientation session in our office, bank account set up, sim card, job interviews, ongoing support & so much more.
Your initial hostel accommodation was booked for you before you arrived at Surfers Paradise, and at one of the best properties in this city. As you mentioned, the hostel does organise different events for its guests too, so we are a bit confused by your statement about the free event.
We would like to clarify that we are not a recruitment agency, and as part of your trip, job interviews are just one inclusion to help kickstart your working holiday. We put you in touch with our Partner Organisations that are suitable for you based on your previous experience, it’s then your responsibility to attend the interview & get the job, like back home. We are unable to make any guarantees in terms of job types or inclusions as it does come down to our Partner Organisations hiring at the time, and of course how suitable you are for what they’re looking for. However, the very vast majority of our travellers get offered the job before landing & start working & earning money within days of their arrival.
We can see on your file that you were offered a number of different job interviews through your time in Australia, not just one. These job interviews were in a number of different fields such as sales, labouring, farming & even a ski resort. Unfortunately, you were unsuccessful with your first interview and then you declined your next one at a ski resort. You were also offered a role on a farm, however you did not turn up on the day that the partner had asked you & they then filled the role with someone else because of that. Your Trip Coordinator was in touch with you throughout your time in Australia & was always responsive to you.
You’re right that you can travel on your own and do your own research & hand out resumes when you arrive. Not for a minute do we deny this, just like you can also buy & cook your own meal instead of going to a restaurant, or cut your own hair with some cheap scissors instead of seeing a professional salon. But many of our customers, especially those who are travelling for their first time, find this process very difficult, or simply don’t want to do that and prefer to spend their time having fun and not being stressed when they land. And that’s exactly what we’re here for, to ensure that this process all goes smoothly and you don’t need to spend weeks handing out resumes, spending hours Googling, or having your parents worried that you’re going to run out of money and call them up for more (or return home early after travelling to the other side of the world).
Our trips do not come with flights however we do have a dedicated Travel Team who can book your flights & travel insurance for you. You can purchase your own flights online on these websites, however they are not flexible and most of the time you are unable to change them if you need to. Our flights are flexible fares which can be changed if needed, and 9 of 10 of our customers change their arrival date for numerous reasons and thus use this benefit.
We welcome all feedback about our trips, good or bad as it helps us improve where required. We ask for reviews throughout our customers’ journeys with us, from when they book their trip, while on their trip & when they have finished their trip. When our customers are in our office for orientation, we do ask for a review of their experience so far, this is up to the customer if they would like to write one or not, by then, customers have spent 3-12 months receiving a service from us, have made it here, and 99% of the time have passed their interview and are about to head off to their new job. We have thousands of reviews across a number of platforms, and you will find many of these reviews are from customers whilst they are on their trip having an incredible time, plus our Instagram is loaded with photos from real customers raving about their adventures.
After looking into your profile, we can see that you have brought these issues up before with your Trip Coordinator in March 2020. It was confirmed then with you, that your Trip Coordinator did not walk away from you and that she waved to you whilst in the supermarket. We are very proud of all of our Trip Coordinators here at Global Work & Travel and we can assure you that they are all very friendly and always happy to assist all of our travellers. They go above and beyond for all of our customers which you can see from all of our 5 star reviews where our team members are mentioned.

If you book your trip with Global Work and Travel, expect it to cost more than what you see on their website. I've booked my Galapagos trip with them, and the trip itself has been great, but there are extra expenses that are to be expected, such as the flight, island hopping and booking another place to stay if you want, and paying $20 and $100 for another visitor's fee and entry into the Galapagos National Park. Also, my Travel Concierge booked my last stay in Quito, and didn't book accommodation.

This company is terrible. They are withholding $1500 for a trip I am never going to be able to go on. I followed their instructions the entire way through and now will never be able to go on my dream trip and have been robbed of $1500. We can see that you have been in communication with our cancellations team who have provided you with your options if you wish to cancel your trip. There are a number of costs involved behind the scenes when you book one of our trips. Rather than cancelling your trip completely and losing any money associated with it, we have offered you a 100% trip credit that can be used in the future towards any of our trips we offer. We think this is very reasonable and this is something that many travel companies are not offering. We completely understand that you may not want to travel now, however you are able to use this credit in the future when the time is right.

I completed my 4 week TEFL course through Costa Rica TEFL, booked with Global Work and Travel, Julian at Global was very helpful from the start and has kept in contact throughout, although I decided to travel to Costa Rica sooner than the course started and booked this myself, Julian still gave some great advice. The course itself is extremely intense, you are required to work/study very long days into the evening and often required to work the weekends too to ensure you are ready for teaching the next week, my advice to future students would be to ensure you make time for your own wellbeing. The school is located in Samara and it is beautiful, it is a small seaside town with lots of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and surf shops. Myself and 3 other classmates have decided to stay in Samara whilst the other 6 students have all found teaching jobs elsewhere in Costa Rica.

This was my first big trip on my own and I'm so glad I did it with Global! Julian was so helpful at getting me ready right from the start up until getting on the plane, and the reassurance that if I had an issue whilst there I had someone to turn to made it so much easier. Volunteering wasn't quite what I expected but Julian made sure I was happy and I had an amazing experience, it also gave me the confidence to go travel further around Africa, having the trip of a lifetime!

Global Work and Travel seems legitimate and fair on the outside, but as soon as you go any deeper than the surface level, that's where the problems started. I first contacted them in December of 2020 after my friend decided to use them to go abroad and teach English in Thailand. From the get-go, I was promised many things that did not pan out. I was subjected to high-pressure sales tactics even during my initial phone call to get info about the program and to DAILY calls for 3 days in a row pressuring me to sign up and pay in full over the phone. I was assured that I would be able to travel and do training with my travel companion (as listed on my profile and the website). That did not happen. We ended up leaving the US 4 weeks apart and I only got to see her for 3 days (out of a 6 mo trip) once in Thailand. They blamed COVID-19 every time either of us brought up a problem.
The problems don't end there. On their website (then AND now) there is NO MENTION ANYWHERE that certain countries they send people to may have quarantine requirements on upon entry due to COVID-19. Now I know this is out of their control, but when I signed up officially (and paid in full) on December 7th, 2020, Thailand (my destination country) did not have an entry quarantine. Starting in January of 2021, an entry quarantine was enacted and all we got from Global was an email saying now we must travel early and quarantine at OUR OWN EXPENSE, even though the rule was not in effect yet when I paid the full amount advertised on their website for my trip on December 7th, 2020.
I raised my concerns about this immediately to my so-called "dedicated trip coordinator" who essentially told me “Too bad, so sad" you signed a contract and if you back out, we will not refund any of the money you paid, but we will hold on to your money for 5 years in case you want to book a different trip with us..." By this point, I'm already out just over $2800 USD and now facing an ADDITIONAL cost of $1200 USD that I neither planned for nor was made aware of (even as a possible risk) during the initial booking. There was no mention of anything on the website about COVID-19 and risks participants (physical and financial) incur when traveling through Global Work and Travel, nothing helpful, anyway.
When I raised concerns about this to my travel planner, I would get the same answer in a pre-worded, scripted email every time... They never actually really tried to help me. Even when I would get one of them on the phone, it would be the same scripted responses as before. At this point, facing the issue of losing all my money if I didn't go, I felt forced into going. I felt like I was being coerced by a giant company that doesn't actually care about their participants after they pay for their trips. In fact, since I landed in Thailand in April, I HAVE NOT ONCE heard from anyone (email or phone) from Global Work and Travel to check in to see how I'm doing.
I was also told that they couldn't discuss specifics of my trip until it was paid in full, despite heavily advertising a payment plan for participants to pay off smaller chunks of their trips. I signed up for a payment plan from the start and even after scheduling my first payment for later that week, no one would talk to me about details pertaining to the trip I had just signed up for. The reason I got was: "We can't 100% confirm your spot until you pay in full..." Overall, this company is a huge scam that lures in participants w/ low trip deposits and a flashy website. Total money spent (and lost): ~$4100 USD.

We're so sorry to hear that you feel this way about your recent experience with us. Unfortunately COVID has affected many people's plans and we are saddened that it has also affected your trip. It has been an unprecedented challenging year especially for the travel industry. We have looked into your file and we would like to go over some of your concerns and clarify them for you.
To register for any of our trips you do need to put a trip deposit down & complete booking forms. Our team would have contacted you after you reached out to us for more information. All of our trips have limited spots, so our Work & Travel Experts would have wanted to make sure you didn’t miss out (we have seen this happen many times in the past). We are sorry if this came off as pushy, we assure you that was not the intention. As you mentioned, we did contact you over the space of three days, so we are hoping you had enough time to think about the trip before putting your trip deposit down.
When you originally registered for your teaching trip with your friend, there were no issues to be placed together, we have had a number of friends & couples travel together in the past and have always been placed together.
Once yourself & your friend had your placements confirmed, you were placed separately. Your friend who was also travelling with Global, wanted to be in the south of Thailand, which was why you were placed separately. Your Trip Coordinator called you both to confirm that you were happy with this and you both confirmed this was fine.
Your schools required you to go through different visa processes, which is why you were unable to arrive and quarantine together.
COVID has 100% affected how people can travel - as we would have mentioned to you, the changes that were caused due to COVID were completely out of our hands. We keep all of our travellers up to date with all changes to trips, especially quarantine requirements. This is not on our website, as it changes frequently for each destination country and also changes depending on where you are travelling from and if you are vaccinated. There is no way we could have this information on our website as it is different for everyone & every trip.
However, our dedicated Trip Coordinators are there to keep all of our travellers updated on what is required of them to travel. Which is exactly what your Trip Coordinator did. You were made aware of the quarantine requirements as soon as they came in. You were given a number of options with your trip, such as changing dates, however you confirmed you wanted to proceed with your trip. We completely understand that this is not ideal having to quarantine, but you decided you were happy to do so. All of our trips come with full flexibility, so if you did want to push your trip back later you could have. Rather than losing any funds associated with your trip you also had the option of a travel credit, this is far more than many other travel companies have offered during COVID.
We do have our Booking Terms & Conditions on our website, and these were updated on our website once it was clear that COVID wasn’t going anywhere.
Your Trip Coordinator spoke to you on a number of occasions about your trip and your options pre departure. We would never want anyone travelling if they were not comfortable with it, however you assured your Trip Coordinator that you did want to proceed with your teaching trip.
We are not sure what you mean about not having the specifics of your trip. Once your deposit is down your Trip Coordinator calls you to run through all of the specifics and details of your trip and you also receive a document that outlines everything you need to know about the trip & country you are going to.
Your Trip Coordinator reached out to you after you had arrived in Thailand and you replied to say everything was going great & you were excited for your placement, so we are quite surprised & saddened to receive your review and hear otherwise.

Global Work and Travel has helped my dreams become a reality. I love that I was assignment a separate person for each stage of my journey (e.g. travel coordinator, arrival coordinator). Each person helping me on my journey from Global has been so friendly and helpful and has answered any question I had. I valued so much that they didn't throw everything at me all at once, and staggered each thing I needed to do, so I wasn't overwhelmed at the beginning.
However, one thing I would say is at the very beginning of my journey, I would have benefited from being given a costs list, with a breakdown of each cost, for example (biometrics etc.), as I did slightly go in blind and not really understand al the expenses that would come my way. Overall, I would recommend to anyone Global Work and Travel and would definitely say that the fee for letting Global help you is so worth it in the end, as without them helping me each step of the way, I would not be where I am now.

I booked a working trip with Global Work and Travel in December 2019 with my planned flight for 25th April 2020. For obvious reasons the departure was delayed a number of times, but continuous support was given by Julian ** and the XploreAsia team. I was assured that I should always ask for help whenever needed and I certainly took advantage of this. Despite the continuous hassles caused by the pandemic I arrived in Thailand safely. The quarantine hotel provided an excellent service and the induction week in Hua Hin was a thoroughly enjoyable and productive experience. I am now teaching at a school in Bangsaphan and I have accommodation next to the sea. I thoroughly Global Work and Travel to anyone who wishes the ultimate work and travel experience.

I wish I could personally thank everyone at the Global team who helped me achieve this once in a lifetime experience. But I have to give my special thanks to the team who helped me with my big leap - Tiarna, Jaz and Vedrana. I have had my eyes open to a whole new different way of life, learnt new things and skills that I’ll be taking back home with me, met amazing new friends, interesting different people and I’ve also fallen deeply in love during my time here. The confidence I have gained within myself is something I can’t express in words.
I came from a small town where everything I needed was only minutes away, I knew everyone I saw and they knew me. I felt trapped, closed in, bored. There wasn’t a second thought when I started the process with Global and although I was upset and terrified to leave behind everything I knew and was comfortable with, I am so glad I did. I am so proud and happy of the person I have grown into. I couldn’t have done it without the help of the Global team and my family.
The team are beyond amazing, they kept in contact with me from the first inquiry phone call and answered every question I had (and lots of questions that my mum had to ask!) Of course I was skeptical at first, I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into but I was constantly in touch with everyone from phone calls, to Skype calls or just emails keeping me up to date with everything. It soothed my worries straight away. I didn’t know where to start with getting a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa so having the team run through and tell me everything I needed to provide was a massive weight off my shoulders. They took care of all the stressful bits that come with organising life overseas, organising flights and transport from the airport to the hostel that they also arranged. They found me a job before I even left the country! Not once did I feel abandoned or left in the dark from the moment I left right up until even now, they still keep in contact with me.
I have fallen deeply in love during my time here, I have met the most amazing man. He has opened his arms and heart to me and has shown me his country, his home. I wouldn’t have been able to meet him if it wasn’t for Global. I really could write all day about how this experience has changed me as I’m sure everyone else could too. But this is something you need to experience yourself, and I can guarantee you won’t regret it!! I am beyond please with Global, they have done such an amazing job. Everyone should be proud.

Firstly, my sister and I found the staff very nice and friendly, overall. Unfortunately, a lot of things we had to figure out on our own. They advertised really well compared to what they actually offer and do for you. We got to Surfer's paradise and were put into a hostel (Budd's in Surfer's backpackers resort) that was very run down, and had to share a room with 4 people, that would smoke ** in our room. After 4 nights, we had not found a place to live as it was in the middle of a crazy week in Surfer's Paradise called ''Schoolies'' and there were absolutely no rooms/apartments to rent out. That said, we had to jump from one Airbnb to another for 2 weeks, until we finally found a place that was overly expensive.
Global made it sound as though they would help us find a place but they only gave us a site: (**) where we got scammed and lost over $1000- Not the company's fault, just a kind warning to watch out for qualified scammers. :) We were offered very few and poor job opportunities, the same as all the other travelers we met. I have actually never written a review before, on anything, but felt compelled to let you all know how much money you could save up and visit awesome places in Australia, or wherever, instead of using it with this company. We met a lot of friends that were with global, and ALL of them, had the same negative feedback.
All in all, both my sister and I lost approx. $4000 for this company, and had many stressful days in our early stage in Australia, which was disappointing, considering we intended to avoid those by going with the company in the first place. Like I said, the workers were very nice, but we believe they work for a company that is money hungry, more than client-focused.

We're so sorry to hear that you feel this way about your recent experience with Global Work & Travel. As a premium service provider we want to ensure all of our travellers are having a great time on their trip so we are saddened to receive this feedback as it goes against our vision and purpose. After looking through your profile we would like to go over some of your concerns in more detail.
We have to respectfully disagree with you in regards to our trips and what we advertise and offer. All of our travellers receive the same service and the same inclusions as what our website states. We absolutely do not advertise differently to what we offer.
One aspect of your trip is to have a dedicated Trip Coordinator. I can see your Trip Coordinator was in constant communication with you before you arrived and when you were in Australia. She was there to answer any questions you had via email and organised a video call with you to ensure you were fully prepared for your arrival.
Before you arrived in Australia you were presented with your job opportunity as a Kids Club Attendant in a resort on the Gold Coast. This was a Partner Organisation that we have worked with for many years and previous travellers have loved working there and made lifelong friends.
Once you arrived in Australia, we set you up with your first 4 nights of accommodation at a hostel in Surfers Paradise. This is in a 4 bed dorm so you are able to instantly make other friends and have a social network. Many of our travellers travel solo, so being in a shared dorm is the perfect way to make connections with like minded people. If you didn’t want to stay in a dorm, then you would have been able to request a private room with your Trip Coordinator. We receive great feedback from our travellers about this hostel due to the vibe and atmosphere there. It is disappointing to hear someone was smoking in your room as this is definitely not appropriate and we are hoping you brought this up with the reception staff.
Unfortunately there was a slight delay in our Partner Organisation confirming your start date, this can happen from time to time as they are a real employer and unexpected things can pop up. We understand your frustration with this, however they did get back to you 3 days after you arrived with a confirmed start date.
This role was on a casual basis but during the summer months you should get adequate hours to support yourself. You did express concerns about the hours so we organised another job opportunity for you based in another location of Australia but you wanted to stay on the Gold Coast. Throughout this time, your Trip Coordinator continued to stay in touch with you and assisted you with anything you needed.
The time of the year that you arrived can be busy, hostels and rentals can fill up fast. Your Trip Coordinator is here to give you advice on finding somewhere permanent to live, however it is up to you to go do the viewings yourself as you want to ensure it is a place you want to live. We are glad that you were able to find an AirBnB to stay in.
In January, you reached out to your Trip Coordinator as unfortunately your hours hadn’t picked up as much as you would have liked and you requested further assistance with another job interview. Two days later we had organised another interview for you here in Surfers Paradise at a restaurant. As you didn’t have much hospitality experience, your Trip Coordinator went above and beyond and got you both into the office to do some training with you on how to carry 3 plates and prepared you for your interview. You had your interview and were successful in getting a trial, however you didn’t turn up for your trial shift and your Trip Coordinator was not able to get a hold of you. This could have been a great opportunity for you both to learn new skills and start earning money.
After this, we still continued to try and assist you with job interviews. Unfortunately due to the horrific bushfires at the start of the year and COVID hitting in March there were very limited Partner Organisations hiring, which was completely out of our control. We do ask all travellers to be open minded to locations, however you both only wanted to stay on the Gold Coast which made it even more difficult to organise something further.
Throughout the start of the pandemic, your Trip Coordinator continued to stay in contact with you frequently and sent you through job links. We even offered to swap you over to our Au Pair Trip, however you decided it was time to go home.
We are a little bit confused by your 1 star review as after you returned home, you sent through a very positive email to your Trip Coordinator thanking her for all of her help and that you were very grateful for all of the assistance.
