    If I could give them a zero I would. Don’t trust them. I've heard many stories about their overpriced flights and activities. But I’m telling a different story. Mind you this happened in 2023 and it’s 2025. They will practically just steal your money if you cancel a trip. And if you try and get it back they’ll say that you harassing them when it’s your money that they took. So I saw that $169 was taken from my account. which I was fine with at the time till I found out that I couldn’t go due to personal reasons. It was due to one of my family members became sick so I had to take care of them. So I had to cancel. When I did they said they would keep my money as store credit which I didn’t want.

    Fast forward am still trying to get it back. I've sent emails and called them. They all say the same thing that they couldn’t give it back. And one of their representatives said that they would get back to me and never did. Or would straight up lie and say that they sent it to me and I never got it. Thank goodness it’s wasn’t a higher amount like one of My friends lost $900 dollars thanks to them. All they want to do is make money off of you. My advice do your search on all company, don’t trust them, and DO NOT give them any money unless you like giving away free money. (PS if the company sees this I just want my money back.)

    Save your money and do it yourself. They charge extortionate prices for insurance. 5 minutes of research provided me with a better price for 1 years worth of comprehensive insurance to more countries, compared to 6 months and less countries with them. I didn’t book my flights through them so can’t say anything about that process. Don’t even get me started on the working holiday process. I decided to go with Global to try and minimize my stress, believing they could sort a job for me quicker and easier than I could myself. Turns out this is not the case. The day I was flying out they finally let me know that I had a job. So basically I was flying to a foreign country with no job and no plan. But alas they got me a job right on the buzzer and off I went. Until…. I get dropped in the Irish country side and am immediately greeted by more Global customers (living and working at the workplace) who are absolutely shocked I’ve turned up.

    They have sent multiple complaints and emails to global (by multiple I mean upwards of 5 separate global customers over months) about the workplace and the exploitation occurring there. From what they told me global ignored the basis of their emails. From my experience I also tried to email global about the exploitation occurring. Examples include: full week of pay taken off of us as a ‘bond’ though hearing from multiple former employees they never saw that money again, not paid extra for overtime, schedules illegal (you could be rostered on until 11pm and then scheduled the very next day at 7am in the morning. You are meant to have 12 hours between shifts), no breaks on shift depending on department which is also illegal for a 9 hour shift, we could work 10 days in a row with no days off, no HR department and finally management bullying workers.

    I addressed all of these concerns to global and was told I should speak to HR. I already told them there was no HR. They then said they could speak to management for me but needed my permission. I told them that concerned me, as management had previously kicked out a global worker (from work and the house) and left her high and dry in Ireland with nowhere to go. Could global organize a back up for me in case that happened to me? No. I was on my own. They offered to get me another job, however when they messaged me about another opportunity it was one I had already rejected in the middle of nowhere with no public transport options (obviously I did not have a car for 6 months work). At that point I gave up and never heard from Global again apart from the copy/paste emails they sent to everyone. No one checked in on me. So much for support.

    I ended up sticking it out with the job, however it was NOT a working holiday. I worked more than I ever have, for less wages than I’ve ever been paid, and saw none of Europe because I never got time off. Seriously don’t waste your time. I’m more burnt out from my ‘working holiday’ than I was at my career.. and that’s from a 26 year old in stock broking. I spent almost 3 grand for absolutely no reason, please don’t make the same mistake I did. Not even bothering with an attempt of a refund because I know how that will go. Scammers. Avoid at all costs.

    Amazing experience so far! Taylor & Ellen have been so helpful and wonderful and there for me every step of the way. :) They’ve always just been a phone call, email, or message away and setting up meetings have been extremely beneficial! Taylor especially has been there with me since the very beginning when I was still debating about taking the trip and I can’t say enough good things about her! She is one of the main reasons I’m even going. :) The whole process has been easy and the paperwork has even been fun, not tedious! I’m so excited for the next steps and continue on this journey and can’t wait to experience my trip that I’ve been anticipating. :)

    GWAT offers an amazing service and, for the most part, I've had a pleasant experience with them. My Trip Coordinator, Kate, was absolutely lovely and has answered my questions and helped me prepare. However, I do find that almost everyone I've spoken to seemed to be reading off a script; like they had to say certain things to hit their markers for the conversation and would direct the conversation despite my questions. It felt very pushy. Even when I had already made up my mind about participating in the program, the first person I spoke to seemed to ignore my questions and tried to "sell" me on the merits of the program which, in my case, was superfluous and frustrating. That first conversation was meant to be informative about next steps. Despite the fact that I did not need or want information on "why this program is so great and why I should sign up," they gave it anyway. I would ask that GWAT encourage their coordinators to be less like salespeople and more like advisors.

    I also struggled with the financial aspect of GWAT and how insistent they were that everything be paid upfront. I had already paid the initial fee to be accepted into the program, yet they insisted I pay the insurance fee SIX MONTHS in advance to "lock in my spot and show potential employers I am serious about moving to NZ." There was no reason for me to pay 1 year of insurance in full that many months in advance when it would not start until I landed in NZ. That being said, I gave a 4 star review because I do find GWAT to be a helpful and supportive resource for moving abroad. I appreciate that they are organized and experienced.

    Updated on 05/24/2024: As per my last review of this company, I was rather displeased with the initial handling of my case, however Liam from Global assured me that he would resolve this issue. I had believed there was no light at the end of the tunnel for this matter, but with this second consideration taking effect now because of Liam’s own efforts to reach out, I can say this is quality company. I am grateful that Global does take a further look into their customers' best interests and pleased to see the due diligence provided. Thanks again Liam I appreciate the call and how you handled this matter.

    Original: Disgraceful company that will completely rob you. Terrible, Terrible company, huge scam. Ridiculous cancellation and refund policy. I had decided on a pursuing a Working Holiday in Australia and had only booked an opening consultation with my designated trip coordinator. 2 days later they processed a payment towards the trip. With the time difference between countries, I was unable to call and cancel and there was no option on their world site to do this. This is a scam company and I’ve already submitted a claim to my bank to review them.

    2 days in so obviously no work has been done on Global's end, nothing towards the trip, no assistance, no resume, c/v help, no job placement, no accommodation help, just absolutely nothing and they refuse to return the payment of $550. Keep the trip deposit of $1 by all means, but refusing to refund the money that paid for absolutely nothing after only 2 days is disgraceful. Horrible company. There was no work done on my behalf in the 2 days that justifies keeping the money.

    I cannot stress heavily enough how awful this company is. They claim to be a middleman to make the process of obtaining a working holiday visa and finding work in your country of choice easier, which they absolutely do not do. Before they will even start helping you with anything they require over a thousand pounds. After paying this, you are no closer to obtaining the working holiday visa. What do you get for the money? A few links emailed to you from which you fill out all the paperwork yourself. A thousand pounds. They will then try to scare you into only getting insurance and flights through them, at twice the usual cost.

    All of the services they provide you can easily do yourself. Then they will help you find a job, by which I mean they will email you a few links to online job postings. You then, again, fill them out yourself. (The place I ended up working at their suggestion was by far the worst job I've ever had with the most heartless management possible.) I had secured another job through them, that en route to, I got my car stuck on top of a deserted mountain, with nobody around to help. Me and my girlfriend were stranded on this mountain for several days. As soon as we were rescued from the mountain, I let Global and the employer know we would be unable to make it to start work, as I was a car and several thousand dollars down.

    Global then promptly dropped us and offered no further help to us for breaking their 'behavioural policy'. Even after explaining that we almost died and couldn't physically make it to our place of employment, they didn't care. Avoid at all costs, this is an opportunistic scam of a company, and couldn't care less about you and only want your money.

    We are an arrival & support service designed to make travel easy and stress free. All of our trips are a set price and have a range of trip inclusions. Our Travel Team are there to assist with flights & insurance if you want to book this with us, this is your choice and you don't have to but our team ensure you arrive at the best time.

    You can travel solo if you wish, but our customers book our trips to take that stress out of having to organise everything yourself.

    You had a dedicated Arrival Coordinator who was there every step of the way to assist with your trip. You were placed at one of our Partner Organisations, you may have had to submit part of your application yourself due to some organisations having an internal system, however this would have been organised through us.

    We are sorry to hear about the accident that you had and we hope you are ok. We were trying to work with you to offer bus routes and alternative options etc to get you to your job, but you said you were not able to make it. We suggested to delay your start date even by 3 months if you needed, but you said you could not make it. This partner hires relatively year-round, so they would have been able to accommodate a later start date for you.

    Global Work and Travel is pushy over the phone and don't cover all policy with you until you've already made a purchase. I booked a trip before covid and they canceled it on me but refused to provided a refund to protect their own profits instead of helping out me and people like me who were in the thick of a pandemic. To this day I have not been given a refund for $3400 I spent. They offer a less than 50% refund and cite the policy they never even cover with you. It's absolute bull. Never trust companies like this one. They don't care about you.

    I began my journey with Global Work and Travel in September of 2022. I had paid a total of 3500 dollars for medical forms(500) initial deposit (1600), visa payments (500) insurance (900) not including flights. I kept trying to contact about booking flights in September- Initial quote was 1500 return. Global work and travel never got back to me to pay for my flights. It is now a month before I am meant to be flying out and I have been quoted 4000 dollars flights Au to New York! What a ripoff. Won’t be going as I’m not paying 7000 for a working trip where I am getting paid 2800 American which is 4000 Australian. Working 12 hour days five days a week for three months. I’m practically working for free as my initial deposit is in my contract as paid wages. This company has been sued by the Queensland government before in 2016. I wish I had not been ignorant of this.

    I am unsure if I will be able to get a refund of my insurance and deposit. I will be contacting the Queensland Commission of Regulation about this and see if I can make a claim. Also it turns out the deposit fee is only meant to be 495 dollars. Why was I quoted 1600 dollars? Also my flights and all documents were meant to be sorted out three months before I was meant to be travelling. Seems this company is not following its only policy. Alarm bells should be ringing. I’m feeling very saddened by this as I was looking forward to my trip to America. The amount and time and effort and money I put into this trip I will not be able to get back. I wish someone had warned me of this company.

    Hello. I would have rated my Global Work & Travel experience a 4 out of 5 only because there was quite a bit of chaos and miscommunication. But it's a very large project so it was expected. Otherwise, everyone was super nice and as helpful as they could be to explain things. You have to remember, everyone that they are working with comes from different places, so systems and requirements may be different. However, overall, it was totally worth it. They helped make the trip super fun. Like I said, 4 out of 5. Not a bad rating. If anyone was to ask me if they should go, I would say yes. I would say, "Try it but make sure you are very organized yourself and that you are ready, and you know what you want. Or else, you will be fighting for things - spots, availability, even pricing with plain tickets and such." But like I said, anyone there wants to help you, wants the best for you, and overall, it was a really good experience.
