Since I posted this review I have been contacted by SellmytimeshareNow who have issued a full refund. The processing was speedy and they were respectful throughout.

    Original Review: March 8, 2015

I listed my timeshare with this company for sale after a number of discussions with the Sales rep. I was wary of the promises made as these did not exactly match the details on the company web site. Two specific promises were made: 1, that the fee covered all subsequent years if the timeshare did not sell. 2, that a full refund would be given if I sold the timeshare "by any other means for an amount higher than listed". The companies terms do not reflect this but the Sales rep ( ** ) told me that the company would honor this agreement. I sold my timeshare privately. I have been attempting to obtain a refund for 4 months now and still have not received one. I have been fobbed off and delayed and finally told I'm not eligible. If others have had this experience please post your details.

Steve, we apologize for any confusion surrounding our refund policies as well as for any delay in the refund process. While the original documents we received from you regarding the sale of your timeshare were not legible, we appreciate your patience and persistence in resending us a copy of these documents that we were able to review fully. Upon review of these new documents, it was determined that you were in full compliance with our refund policies. Again, we apologize for the delay, and we are happy that we were able to come to a resolution. We stand by our guarantees and honor our refund policies.

It was a big decision for me to sign up with "Sell My Timeshare Now". A few years ago, I had signed up with another company to sell my timeshare. They took my money and I never heard from them again. If you are looking to just unload your timeshare, not make a lot of money, and just get rid of it, I would recommend "Sell My Timeshare Now". The process is a long one, mine took about 9 months, but they got the job done. The people at "Sell My Timeshare Now" walked me through every step, right to the closing. It seems good to know that I will not have to pay any more maintenance fees, taxes, and special assessment fees.

    Original Review: Feb. 13, 2015

Why do people sell their timeshare? Typically because they can NO LONGER AFFORD them, so time is very critical. Feeling desperate to sell my timeshare and after numerous phone calls and follow up emails from **, I thought that this would be the way to do it! However, months later, I am feeling as if I was caught in a trap, a scam. A scam that cost me over $1,000 now. Once the charge was made, I have not had a single call from them. I have lowered the sale price twice and nothing.

I spoke with Westgate representative and they told me that "You should NEVER pay upfront to sale your timeshare, it's illegal"!!! Well, too late for that. Guess they got my money, and I am still stuck. :( All I keep remembering was the sales pitch, "Westgate is a high demand property, your timeshare could have already been sold, etc." Months later, WHY hasn't it sold??? And WHY have I not had any calls to follow-up???

After speaking with ** and others I am more comfortable that Sell My Timeshare are involved and will be helpful in marketing my timeshare. Several adjustments based on recommendations have been made and already the placement aspect has been enhanced.

I'm pretty stingy with company ratings and will hopefully over time raise the rating to a higher level but before doing so I would like to see some tangible activity on the listing. So although I am better pleased based on recent conversations I'll see how things progress from here.

    Original Review: Feb. 12, 2015

Signed up for the program in September 2014 after being leery about Timeshare Resellers but was convinced Sell My Timeshare would be different. The sales agent provided the normal hype about owning timeshares in the #1 area of the country and that the selling season was "hot", instead the experience so far has been the selling season is "not." Since listing the timeshare I have received no calls, emails - nothing. If it wasn't for my continual following up, the yearly contract would come and go without any activity. I went along with the listing price as discussed with the agent and so I was led to believe the asking price was reasonable. At first we listed the property with 4,550 points whereas we learned the points being offered was in fact 6,050 and the sale price was adjusted accordingly. Very disappointed with this company.

We had heard about SellMyTimeshareNow from the Sheraton Resort. Each person we spoke with was friendly and informative. They guided us in determining a selling price. A few times, we e-mailed them with various questions, and they always responded quickly and politely. They were supportive during this process. Once we received an offer, they sent us e-mails clearly listing what information was needed from us to close the deal. Overall, they were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We didn't feel that they were taking advantage of us. We definitely recommend them!

** , Customer Care Specialist with SellMyTimeshareNOW, contacted me and offered a deal, if I would reduce the price of the timeshare, he would refund my $1600 if it did not sell by the end of 2015. I reduced it again, now $10,000 less than original price 1.5 years ago, and hope it sells quickly. I am putting my faith in ** and SellMyTimeshareNOW again, and will rate a 5 as soon as my timeshare has been sold.

    Original Review: Feb. 4, 2015

Sept. 2013, I spent $1600.00 listing one timeshare in Myrtle Beach with SellMyTimeshareNow. I was told that I was listing at a good price, and they even put "motivated seller" on the ad. I called back after one year of no hits, and was told I had a hit the first month but I could not be reached. That is a bold face LIE. I have the same cell phone number I have had since 1995, and I did NOT receive a call from anyone trying to buy my timeshare.

I have now dropped the price again, and STILL have had no phone calls. Aren't I eligible for a refund of some kind? I have MS and am not able to travel, and this timeshare is a burden. I do not want it. I need to sell it and I am disappointed and dissatisfied that I was led to believe this would be a reputable service to use. I agree that the phone representatives are very polite; however, that is not getting my timeshare sold, and not making my $1600.00 spent to have it sold worthwhile.

SMTN responded to my concerns and we have resolved the issues I had satisfactorily.

    Original Review: Jan. 29, 2015

I signed up with Sell My Timeshare Now over a year ago. When I initially filled out information on their website, I received calls for about 6 months from them, several times a week, telling me the benefits of listing with them and giving me false information about their ability to move my "extremely desirable" (their words) unit that should have "no problem selling." Being that I did want to get rid of the timeshare and was unsure how, I eventually listed my timeshare with them - at the amount they suggested - for $2000.

I have not had one single inquiry on my property in the ensuing 13 months, nor a single phone call from SMTN people, when before I agreed to list with them, I couldn't get them to stop calling and was assured of their continued customer service and support upon listing with them. I have called to find out why no inquiries on my listing and they are extremely rude, telling me that I have it listed too high!!! Have since dropped the listing price to the next LOWER amount THEY recommended, and still nothing.

I WOULD NOT WISH THIS COMPANY ON AN ENEMY. I am interested in a taking part in a lawsuit against them due to their misleading and false statements about their services and ability to actually Sell a timeshare.

I was contacted by a customer care manager within 2 days of my complaint, and they resolved my issue in a very timely and professional manner. The manager I spoke with explained that they may have been running the promotion of the money back guarantee during the time when I agreed to use their business to list my timeshare property, but the paperwork may have been missed (by either party) at some point.

Regardless, he honored that original deal and sent me paperwork to confirm our agreement. I now have the ability to cancel service with this company at any point after the one-year mark. This makes me feel much better knowing that if my property never sells, I can remove the listing and receive a full refund. In the meantime, I will be sure to stay in contact with their customer care department to make sure my listing is as strong as it can be.

    Original Review: Jan. 19, 2015

We listed our timeshare with this company in March 2014. The sales representative on the phone was pushy but assured me that the upfront cost of $1,000 was necessary to handle closing costs, etc. if/when they found a potential buyer. He closed the deal by explaining that if it didn't sell after one year, I would get my $1,000 back. I felt reassured knowing that I wouldn't be throwing away my money.

Almost one year later, after having lowered the price by over 50% from his recommended starting point, we have received zero inquiries. I contacted customer service to double check on the one year policy, and was told that they have no money back guarantee. I now understand why the salesperson (**) was so pushy. An unsold property is just as good as a sold property to them. Actually it is better because they don't have to pay for any of those closing costs.

We have waited until now to write this critique of Sell My Timeshare Now in order to be sure that we didn't receive an annual timeshare assessment for 2015. The posting of our timeshare by "Sell Your Timeshare Now" was very professional and it resulted in at least a half dozen enquiries over the first 3 or 4 months and an acceptable offer to purchase within 6 months.

Various staff members were polite, helpful and professional throughout the selling process. However, we did not anticipate the amount of time, paperwork and expenses the process would demand of us including signed affidavits from our lawyer. Perhaps some of this may have been because the transaction was international.

It may interest you to know that the biggest problem we had was not with your company but with Interval International who put us through what we considered to be many extra hoops in trying to transfer our banked weeks to the buyers as part of the sales agreement. It happened but it took too many phone calls and letters.

The only issue now left on the table is for us to complete certain papers for the IRS in order to claim some taxes related to the sale. "Sell Your Timeshare Now" treated us well and helped us to successfully sell our timeshare. Thank You!

Sell My Timeshare has not lived up to the commitment. I listed on their site in August for a timeshare at Hacienda del Mar in Cabo. Hurricane Odile struck on September 14th leaving total destruction. I placed multiple calls to SMTN to inquire about refunding our listing in light of the fact that the area was devastated and the unit was not resalable. SMTN said, "it's not our problem."

Sell My Timeshare Now promised their service would actively market the property and that I could expect interested buyers within 30 days; that was 5 months ago and I have not receive a single call from SMTN regarding my property. I have received multiple calls on the rental from competing sites that charge far less!

I would strongly urge anyone thinking of listing with Sell My Timeshare Now to proceed with great caution. I feel they are a scam. There are many other sites that offer better service and have the recommendations from their customers to prove it. I have been in dispute over the policy of SMTN for a number of months. They lack integrity. It is unfortunate that they claim to have customer service; a customer service that hides behind terms and conditions and not behind customer satisfaction!

He told me that it had been received and that I would have to speak with ** before it would be canceled. I told him that I had placed two calls to ** and have had no return calls.

On October 28th ** called and asked what was going on and I told him that I canceled and he said "fine good luck" and hung up. In the mean time they said that it takes 7-10 days for the money to be returned to my card and said that is because of my credit card company. I have been in contact with my credit card company and it is not them it is Sell My Timeshare now. My credit card company does have that I want to dispute the charges if they are not reversed. I have all the communication in my emails. These people are total scammers. I don't understand why it takes 7-10 for the charges to be reversed. When I tried to cancel within minutes, no one could be reached so I left a voice mail stating that their payoff amount was incorrect that I could not do it and to return my call. No one responded. I'm now filing a complaint with the Attorney General. It's a scam and they fight your credit card company. Buyer beware.

My experience with the sale of my Timeshare was that of dissatisfaction. Communication was extremely poor and trying to obtaining correction information to facilitate the process was very convoluted and in error. I discovered in contacting various offices, in my search to determine what was causing the extensive delays, that they did not share information and as such gave me incorrect information and direction. The result of all this caused the closing process take nearly eight months to complete. I would not work with this organization again.

I have seen other reviews and do have a contrary experience. I just completed the purchase of a timeshare in Barbados and was very satisfied with the experience. The price I paid was much better than what the resort was asking for and the people I dealt with were wonderful. They processed everything exactly as they described and were accommodating to my payment schedule requests. Very professional and courteous. I would certainly use this service again.

I listed my luxury timeshare with this company for over $1000.00 USD. They promised they would make every effort to sell my timeshare and have done nothing. It is now 1 1/2 yrs since I listed it with them. I was contacted by two salesmen after trying to make an attempt to ask in June 2014 why nothing has been done to sell the timeshare. They thought I wanted to list my timeshare and were gung-ho about trying to convince me to list with them.

I was contacted by someone called ** who said timeshare resales were great and couldn't understand why it hadn't sold yet. He suggested I contact the main office and ask if I had any inquiries in regards to someone being interested in purchasing my timeshare. I did this and found there had been 0 inquiries. I attempted to contact him 2 other times and received no reply. This is a very deceitful company, I asked for my money back and they refused. Do not do business with these people.

I listed my timeshare "Outdoor Adventures Resorts" in May 2013. I have had nothing but problems with Sell My Timeshare Now from the start. The salesman was very aggressive and made a lot of promises as to what they do. He kept calling me and used his unprofessional sales tactics to get my money. He also had other people call me and they became more and more aggressive. Once they got my money I never heard from them again. It has been over a year and they have done nothing. I spoke to outdoor adventures today concerning my timeshare and Sell My Timeshare Now. De De at outdoor adventures warned me not to deal with this company. She also said that they misrepresent themselves by telling clients that they can sell their timeshare. She also informed me that their resort is not a deeded resort and cannot do business with them to sell my property. So basically I wasted $699.00.

Once they get your money they do nothing. So all they do is list your ad on their website. Their description of my property was incorrect, I called several times for them to correct it. They kept telling me that they needed "A Deed" to my timeshare. That tells you what they know which is nothing. My timeshare is a membership only, I do not own any property with them. I called Sell My Timeshare Now today to tell them what my timeshare company said to me. I asked my money to be returned. They stated that they do not give refunds. I then informed them that I would be contacting the Attorney General in both states that they have offices in. They said "The Attorney General Loves Us, and they recommend people to us." I found that very hard to believe. I hope that my comments will stop anyone else from using this company.

I find it disgusting that companies exist to prey on people who have already, in most cases, been victims of misrepresentations!!! And this takes a lot for me to say since I worked for the largest timeshare company for many years in sales. I know these tactics as I watched thousands of sales reps come and go use them. Like most of you, I submitted the online form since there is no pricing online. Oh wait, that's because there is none right? Ha ha I knew better! That was on a Friday around noon. By Monday morning, not even business hours, I had 12 voicemails from the initial sales rep and then his supervisor, each one progressively more aggressive. And also had the emails questioning my commitment.

I may say I was shocked, having been a sales rep. How in the hell this man thought he could ever get my business acting like that! I appreciate persistence and I get busy but this was purely obnoxious and unethical business standards. Luckily, unlike most of the people on here, I was calling to price shop as I own a small (by their standards) full service management company for points owners. I HAD ALSO INQUIRED ON A FEW LISTINGS (always looking to take over points as I wholesale them to businesses in case you ever wondered how these are available on large hotel sites and vacation clubs) AND got A CALL FROM A BROKER???? Confused FSBO???

I don't need a broker. I've done thousands of closings so why? Because they get ANOTHER fee on the back end by having a cpl on staff so they can collect another fee. And in response to eBay, can I say no, no, no! They actually blocked me from getting info through eBay street. I cornered them on technicalities of sale. Many say free, up-to-date fees, etc. Fees are never right. Closing shouldn't be more than $200 ever and resort transfer $100 and never ever ever pay any maint. fees for year in which it is purchased! !!!!! Only exception is a prorated R A team or take over once you can book if they have points left or them as it on points they have left. No points is billed annually anymore (unless rare fixed week conversions). This is their way to make more money and charge another fee. Most companies who sell these require owners pay 2 years of maint. prior to listing so the owners do not see a dime! !!!!! HERE IS THE HONEST Truth FOR THOSE OF YOU OUT THERE IN A DESPERATE SITUATION:

Never, never, never, never pay up front to all your property other than a membership fee (red week 29, tuts, 5 stars - mine 5/month etc). A real estate broker who doesn't specialize in timeshare is going to be less knowledgeable than an industry veteran. If you're looking to rent your ownership, never ever give more than 20 percent or a guaranteed rate and rental guarantee (we do this). This will distinguish the real players in the industry (we are confident). Always look for a full service company to maximize it all your vacations too. You never need to try to find inventory again if you have a good one (that's right first pick every time). Those looking to resell, the brutal reality sucks!!! Depending on how points are set up the avg resale is .008/1000/100/10 points. And that is average. This will be less if your resort has assessments, or more than 5/1000/100/10 with taxes. Only way to get more is with a VIP transfer! Yes it can be done. Contact a real industry professional (Test if they can't answer the ins and outs to your benefits run!!!). This info isn't really available anywhere due to these corporate giants. Mine is in a password protected forum.

The ONLY TIME you should ever spend any substantial amount to get out of your timeshare is in cases of misrepresentation upon purchase(s). In this case, you will spend money and if you're upside-down, it's a percentage owed. These companies do exist (I know a great one blew my mind) and are specialized legal and credit services. The good news is a good one wins 99% and gets the owner out of contact free and clear with a refund on anything paid to the contract. Biggest piece of advice - be careful! I am an owner too so I get it. Make sure you check ALL claims for validity and ALWAYS ask for it in writing and highlighted. Hope this helps. I would steer clear of the big names (donate for a cause too!!!!). We stay small because we actually care and have a code of ethics. Dig deeper on searches!

Unless you plan on losing lots of money I suggest you not buy one and certainly am not convinced yet that this company can assist me in selling this. Time will tell. Been on the market since last Dec and not one inquiry. Contacted someone three months later and told them that some of the information in the ad was wrong and they said they would change it...Maintenance Fee and Points (we went from weeks to points) we earned based on week 25 and the resort (Massanutten, VA). I'm in the process of figuring out who to sell my timeshare with and trying to do my research prior. I'm in the web marketing business and am very familiar with SEO and how it all works. However, I'm just trying to figure out the best company to represent me and will be a turn-key operation. I don't want to have to deal with the screening, negotiations, closing or transfer.

The problem I have with this company is there's a set price that is paid at the beginning and no guarantee it's going to sell. There is no carrot for the company to find you a buyer - they have their money - on to the next sucker. If the company is so confident it's going to sell the property, then they should give you a refund for the amount if it doesn't sell in a year. They also should have a limit as to how many timeshares from each location they will sell. And if you really wanted to suggest they are a true web-marketing company, they would be able to provide you with statistics of how many people come to the site, track how many people viewed each listing and how many offers were made on the specific listing. Also, as someone has also mentioned, the email the representatives email to state what the services they are providing directly contradicts the terms in which the website states. If you have sold your timeshare elsewhere on the internet, I would love to know where so I can get mine sold.

I contacted Sell My Timeshare Now (SMTN) on 4/6/13 about advertising 2 properties for sale. SMTN defines itself as "a For-Sale/Rent-by-Owner website timeshare advertising company". ** ** was my sales rep. **/SMTN lied and used unethical sales practices and broke the company's own Terms of Use. ** said the lowest listed ad on SMTN site by other sellers at the same properties as mine were currently listed at $6500 (was actually $1397). ** suggested to list my properties at $8000. ** said my properties would "sell quick" and that "Bluebeard's has a lot of interest". I listed each property at $7995 and paid $1848 over the phone w/ Discover Card. A link for each ad of my properties and the Terms of Use were emailed to me on 4/8/13. However, Terms of Use read "We do not appraise or provide guidance regarding the value or rental price of your Timeshare. We cannot and do not make any representations as to the likelihood of success of the ad, the period of time it will take to sell or rent your Timeshare".

I called ** on 4/12/13, 6:40pm to request refund due to misrepresentation. Left a message to call me but did not disclose reason. Call not returned. Called again on 4/13/13, 10:30am. ** answered and I informed him of my refund request. ** said he just woke up and will call me back in 45 minutes. Call not returned. I called back later (5:09pm) and the phone said unavailable and could not leave a message! Even if I was still interested in the services, I wouldn't be able to update anything because the company does not return calls. Another misrepresentation. I disputed the charges w/ Discover on 5/10/13 since I was not getting calls back (case #**). Company fought my dispute w/ Discover and I had to file for an appeal dispute w/ Discover on 6/13/13. 7/27/13, ** from SMTN called to "resolve" my issue. He told me they could change how the ad is listed but not refund any money. I expressed my misrepresentation claims and he said he would have a manager call me the next day or two. No call returned.

Coincidentally, on 7/29/13 I received an email saying: "New Timeshare Offer Or Inquiry. Dear ** **, Congratulations! Your advertisement on www.SellMyTimeshareNOW.com has generated an inquiry. One of our agents will be in touch with the interested party to verify the legitimacy of the inquiry on your behalf and help you in any way you deem necessary moving forward once a formal offer has been confirmed and submitted. If there is anything we can do to help facilitate the process, don't hesitate to email our Client Care Department at customercare@sellmytimesharenow.com or call us at: US: (877) 815-4227. Outside US: (603) 516-0200 SellMyTimeshareNOW, LLC does not screen or endorse inquiries placed on your advertisement. In order to protect your privacy, we do not provide your personal information to any inquiring party, as stated in our Privacy Policy. We encourage you to use discretion when giving out any personal information."

Why would an advertising company contact an interested buyer on my behalf instead of just relaying the buyer's information to me? Their Terms of Use state: "We do not screen or qualify potential buyers or renters who respond to ads." Also, my welcome email stated, "Prospective buyers who are interested in either making an offer or requesting further information will submit their inquiries and offers through our site. Any such inquiries or offers will then be presented to you (usually via email, unless you have specified otherwise). Please be sure to respond to all offers or inquiries made on your timeshare within 24-48 hours".

No further info came about the "inquiry". This indicated to me a possible FRAUDULENT claim by the company.

Foolishly I agreed. I now realize I have just blown that $. The price settled on was, I knew, too high. I called to lower it and the rep agreed, but has not done so & no "owner motivated" appeared as discussed. I reckon this is the perfect job for a quadriplegic blind sales rep. So, I was curious, but cautious and reached out to these folks for information. I specifically asked for their terms and conditions in advance in writing. Are there fees associated? How do they work? Do they take a cut of the sale? Is there a flat up front, etc.? Please send me a TOS or contract by email so that I can review it. The purpose of this is obvious: save my time, save their time, right? And, oh yeah, that transparency thing. I specifically requested it by email and intentionally did NOT provide my cell phone number. I figured it the TOS were agreeable, I could call, right? Wrongo.

I received an immediate email from one of their apparently commissioned "real estate salespersons" as follows: "Please provide a valid number if you are still looking to sell your timeshare ownership. Thanks.” So, I respond again, requesting information by email, which for me (the prospect and customer!) is the preferred means of communication. I reiterated that if the terms were attractive, I would call her at the number provided.

The response was totally hostile and unexpected: "Did you purposely provide us with an invalid number? If you are not serious about wanting to sell your timeshare, I’m going to invest my time in helping people who are wanting to sell." ???? I WANTED to sell. I did sell shortly thereafter. But the refusal to provide any information outside of the context of a high-pressure sales pitch where confusing and misleading information can be doled out - has all the markings of a scam.
