First and foremost I would like it to be clearer that when you google a particular hotel that it is the hotel, not reservation.com that you're contacting. I had done that on Dec 14th 2019. I thought I was talking to the hotel directly and it wasn't till the end of my booking that I was informed I was mistaken. The rep on the phone said it was too late to cancel I had already said yes. She transferred me to a customer service rep and he told me he would cancel it in the system but she did not and billed my visa. I didn't find out till my Visa bill came in the mail. After many calls to reservation.com I finally got the issue resolved thanks to Karen ** at HotelPlanner.

I asked Esther ** if the hotel I booked was serving breakfast. She told me that she contacted the hotel and informed me that they do not. She was very polite and fast. I also asked her a question 10 minutes previous and she remembered me. It was nice.

Esther ** was very helpful in looking into a problem that I had with my reservation to change it from 2 nights this Friday, January 10-12 to just Saturday, January 11-12. However, I am unable to change anything or cancel my reservation. She put a request in for a date change hoping that will work out.

For some reason, this prepaid reservation could never be acknowledge by the hotel. Don't know the issues "Reservation Desk" had with hotel. I contacted RD via chat and worked with Charity ** who quickly cancelled my reservation (if it ever existed) and arranged for a refund. Ms. ** was very helpful. But I need to take off one star for the failure of RD to complete the reservation. That failure had nothing to do with Ms. **.

I was very disappointed when I had to cancel my reservation with Comfort Inn & Suites due to Illness. I had a non-refundable reservation so did not expect to get a refund of any kind. When I called to cancel I was put in touch with Sarah **, one of your customer service representatives.. She was very understanding and said she would try to get some of our money back. To my surprise in 2 days she contacted me to tell me she was refunding all but one night. I am so grateful and will rebook with Comfort Inn in the future.

We made a reservation on-line to a Raddison to stay over from a wedding. When I placed the reservation, somehow the number of adults and type of room was recorded incorrectly. I called the customer service number which opened the ticket. I received a response back after my inquiry of the ticket, that someone was looking into it. Less than 24 hours later, I received a notice that the changes were made and with no additional cost!!! The responses were very professional and prompt! Great service!

I asked for refund one night that I checked out early because of the hotel rating is real bad and we can't sleep. The rep replies are very fast. She understands my questions and answered all my questions. I hope what she told is correct that I'll get my refund back within 3-5 business days.

Originally my room reservations did not get processed to the hotel I had booked. After a quick Chat with Charity she took care of the issue and all is good. I would recommend Hotel Planner and Charity to anyone as they are super friendly and fast to respond. As with any online booking agent it is always good to verify the reservations before traveling!

I am a hotelier and a group inquiry came in which we provided rates and then the group did accept however, they did not book any rooms with us. After several phone call messages and numerous emails send to the agent informing that this group did not pick up any rooms with us. Disregarded all communication and stills end out an invoice for 85 rooms for one night when our property does not even have 85 rooms and we have told them no rooms were picked up by the group. This company is terrible to do business with and when you call any of the numbers all agents are busy so leave a message for all departments group reservations, individual reservations, the agent's extension, invoice department. What you people are doing is very wrong and unethical.

I was in correspondence with Sarah ** in reference to a hotel reservation that was made for a wedding reception in June of 2020. The bride, who is in the medical field for the U.S. Navy, recently learned of her deployment in May of 2020. Therefore, I was requesting Sarah’s help in how to proceed with the cancellation & possible (hopeful) refund. She was extremely helpful in the handling of my situation. Sarah was prompt in her response of emails to me and I really appreciated her assistance.

Delta Chelsea reservation. Made reservation online for 1 night. Medical appt next day, 9thJan. Unwell enough to keep appt at Mt Sinai. Phoned Chelsea to cancel. Learned I had booked with 3rd party. Phone 3rd party. Hope I get FULL refund. Not happy with myself that I booked online. I think I should receive full refund. Pat **. My error completely was unaware of 3rd party. Duh!

Sarah ** was quick and helpful with my request. She is the first person I’ve talked to in the past 3 days that actually helped me. I’ve called the phone number repeatedly and even left a message and no one has reached out to me. I also entered two online tickets with no response either and spoke to someone on Saturday who was supposed to expedite my request and send to a manager and no response from them either. Sarah was wonderful but I works never use your company again.

Booking number **. I called the Red Roof Inn Ellenton Florida to book 3 additional nights for my stay. I was never informed that I wasn't talking to red roof inn. I was never told that I was booking with Hotel Planner and I certainly wasn't told this was a pre pay and my credit card was charged. I would have never agreed to that had I known. When I called to cancel Sunday - Tuesday reservation early Friday morning I was shocked to find that I hadn't booked with red roof inn but had booked with hotel planner. I'd never even heard of hotel planner. How could I have booked with You? The red roof inn has a 4PM the day before check in cancellation policy. Hotel planner said I was too late even though I was more than 2 days early. I was promised a phone call back within 24 hours.
I called backed a couple of times that day and left messages to call me. I called at least 3 times on Monday morning and left messages. I've yet to receive 1 single callback and it's been a week since the 1st call you back in 24 hours. The only way I was able to talk to a live person on Monday was by calling Expedia 1st and have them transfer me. I was told at that point that my cancellation had to be approved by my rate provider but was told I wouldn't be allowed to know who the rate provider was. What the heck?
I had talked to the red roof inn manager on Saturday and he cancelled my reservation on his end. He told me I'd have to call hotel planner to get my money back. How can I call hotel planner if you don't answer your phone and you don't return phone calls? I was told Monday that I'd have my money back in 5-7 days. Now I get an e-mail on Friday saying I'll get my money back in 7-10 days. I'm expecting my money back no later than Monday which is 7 days from when I was told 5-7 days. I don't know anything about hotel planner but it's apparent you don't operate ethically. I have no idea how you hijacked my phone call to red roof inn. You should at the very least identified yourself and told me this was a prepaid reservation. You should return your phone calls when promised and you should return your messages. I consider you nothing more than scammers. I look forward to getting my money back!!

Please be advised that the agent who booked this reservation with you is from an offsite call center that uses our site to make reservations. Please note that we did reach out within 24 hours to advise that we were waiting for the refund to be processed from Expedia in order to get it processed in our system. As soon as Expedia did release the funds back to us our agent did get the refund processed back to you.
The refund has been fully processed in our system as a courtesy due to the inconvenience you experienced from the offsite call center. It is depending on your bank and their processing time in which you will receive the refund.

When booking my rooms online, it gave me a choice of one king bed or 2 beds “preferred.” I specifically needed one room with one king bed and another room with 2 queen beds, not that those were simply just my “preference.” That concerned me, so I called CS and they got me connected with Sarah. She made sure I got the types of rooms I needed and also that they would be on the same floor and close to one another or adjoining, if possible. It was simple to correspond with her via email. It was a very good experience.

While booking a reservation, an error occurred where I had two reservations under the same name. A representative called me the next morning to confirm I had actually made the reservation or if it was an error and offered to assist. Since the Christmas holiday had recently past, the timing to fix the issue had taken longer than I anticipated. However, Charity was kind enough to chat with me via Hotel Planner’s online chat and reversed the issue as quickly as she could; while keeping me updated throughout the process. This experience made me feel comfortable using this particular third party booking site. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

I didn't need to cancel/rebook because the manager followed up with the hotel and get it sorted out for me. I recently had to cancel a hotel reservation. I thought that I could cancel the reservation 24 hours in advance but that was not correct. The cancellation had to be made 48 hours in advance and I didn’t meet the hotel planner in a timely manner. We were unable to travel to Washington State from Alaska to attend a wedding and had to cancel our room reservation. There was a no cancellation clause in the reservation but after I contacted customer care it was only 2 days before our cancellation was approved and we were assessed a small cancellation fee which seemed appropriate. Hotel Planner couldn't my reservation. Then I called expedia, they provided me with the confirmation number. Updated on 01/29/2020: Have been waiting since Sept for this to be cleared up. My posting is the only one that has gone unresolved. I hope your call center has improved their customer service skills. You guys have seriously dropped the ball on getting me my refund. You requested my reservation number, and that was it. I get it, I'm nobody with so many positive reviews. But I'll tell you that you do have some negative ones in your system. It's obvious your company cares, but for some reason I have not been updated by any means. Hopefully this second review will maybe jumpstart you again. If I could post a screen shot of the very short conversation between you and I, I would.
Original Review: I booked through Employee Network and broke down heading out of town. I called the hotel directly and told me they couldn't cancel my reservations. I explained to them I couldn't make it at all. It took me 3 days to figure out who had taken my reservations. By the time I called it was Monday. I called in Sept right after the weekend I was supposed to go on vacation. It's now Dec and for some reason I still have not received my refund, even after the hotel agreed to refund my money through your booking agency. It is Dec and this happened in Sept. I find it hard to believe that this would be acceptable in any business practice.
For this I will never recommend this site nor the affiliate Employee network. The story I keep getting is they are waiting kn the hotel to agree. But I already had received that answer back in Sept. Then after it was, "We don't know when the refund is coming but it will get refunded to you." It's 330$, it's not 20$. Nobody knows how to operate in the call center! This is ridiculous. No refund should take longer than 30 days.

Petswelcome worked with me on the phone as did the hotel. Everyone was professional and courteous. It took a couple of weeks to organize the refund but they did refund me for the screw up. Originally booked One Suite for 5 for one night at Comfort Inn and Suites in Gulfport for my out of town guests. Calked back to re-book same for two nights. I do not think the Customer Svc Rep understood English. The confirmation I received was for one guest for two nights at a Day’s Inn in Gulfport. I called back and a very polite Rep apologized and said I would have to call back for a refund during different hours. When I chose not to re-book through her due to the first foul up I was disconnected. I was surprised to get a letter regarding the cancellation of the erroneous booking & a pending refund. I hope I do not have to dispute the charge with AMEX if the refund is not reflected on my account over the next ten business days.

I booked a room for my son at a Super 8 hotel. I booked it at the wrong Super 8 hotel. I booked it at 1829 Hwy 287, Vernon Texas, 76384. He was at Super 8, at 1110 Interstate 10s, Beaumont Texas 77707. I was informed that I could not transfer the room to the right hotel. It was a huge hassle. So I emailed Super 8 for a cancellation. The room was for Dec 4,19-Dec 5,19. I was also told that I would be charged for the reservation, with no refund. The room was $89.03. Esther ** emailed me back and said that I was going to get a one time cancellation, refund. She was very prompt about responding to my emails. She got me my refund, took care of it for me. So even though it was a big problem and Super 8 hotel wouldn't transfer the room to the hotel my son was at. It was booked under Scott **, I Rebecca ** paid for it. I'm in California, and is not familiar with Texas at all. Thank you Esther **.

I had a very positive experience with Charity at this organization. I had made a reservation which was nonrefundable, but had a situation related to family illness and had to change our arrangements. Charity and everyone I spoke with were kind and helpful and allowed me to change the plans with a full refund. Given all that my family has going on, I so appreciator her/their kindness and good service.

Shortly after I made my reservations, within minutes of mapping location of hotel. I realized The location was over 3.0 hours to my final dentation. I call back and was told that their policy was not refundable. However they would contact Customer Service and have them make the final decision. I received an email and phone call from Charity ** on Monday letting me know I would receive my refund within 7-14 days. Great follow-up. Thank you. I will be happy to use HotelPlanner again.

After checking my latest bank statement, I saw that I was charged for 2 rooms instead of one. I booked on 12/1/19 for a reservation made for 6/6/20 at the Seaport Inn & Marina in Fairhaven, MA 02719. It seems the agent double-clicked on my credit card by mistake resulting in 2 charges of $167.35.

I recently booked thru Hotel Planner for a weekend getaway trip. Unfortunately we had a sudden death in the family and I had to cancel my reservations. I was advised then that I would not receive a refund, due to Hotel Planner's policy. After speaking with Reginette **, she advised me if I could give them evidence of the death in my family, she would maybe be able to contact the hotel to see if they would re-consider. I did as she requested. Today I received word from Ms. **, that the Reservation Director has approved my refund which I should get in 7-14 days business days. Many thanks to Ms. **.

Duplicate Invoice. Every time I called the 800 number I kept getting the runaround - "Sorry the person is not here. You'll have to leave a voicemail". I would call at a different time and the same story over again. Today, I had the pleasure of dealing with Ms. Karen ** who resolved the issue with minimal to no effort at all, she simply asked what is the invoice number, seen the mistake and fixed it immediately. I even send the actual invoice number which had the actual rooms loaded. She even waited until I actually seen it on my end yet removed so I can continue to work. The dates for my family's Christmas were changed because of my brother's illness. I had to revise my prepaid reservation. Following what I thought would be the most streamlined method to reserve a blocked hotel room for a wedding party, I find out too late that I have been duped by the ripoff service called HotelPlanner. This is of course after I had booked and prepaid for a room for far more than the room rate would have been had I just called the Hotel directly. PLUS hotelplanner charged an outrageous Tax Recovery fee. SO please stay far away from this horrible ripoff of a service and call the hotel directly. This room rate fluctuation is a bunch of BS, I hope folks get smart and stay clear of this service. THEY SUCK!!

When I first emailed Reginette ** yesterday, I had been working with Dawn ** for 5 days to rectify a hotel situation. Dawn had been working diligently with me for 5 days trying to get me a refund on a hotel booking I needed to cancel. She did not let up and we worked on it for days. Yesterday, Dawn provided Reginette's email address to help us push the refund through. Once I emailed Reginette, I received confirmation that my hotel reservation was cancelled and refunded almost completely in full. Reginette's prompt service provided me with immediate relieve after going through days of frustration and stress. I truly appreciate all of the help provided by Dawn and Reginette. They refused to cancel the reservation even though I contacted them 2 minutes after the reservation was made when I saw the error. Bad Company. Do not do business with them.

Terrible experience with reservations. I did not know that I was booking with a third party, and I specifically asked for a booking in The Guitar Hotel over and over. And at check in I was told, "That’s not what you booked. I travel constantly and never was so dissatisfied. I will never deal with a third party again and will express my disappointment to every one I know.

The cancellation policy reads "Any cancellation received within 1 day prior to the arrival date will incur the first night's charge." We called more than 24 hours prior to arrival date, however after more than one phone call to try and sort this out, I am still being charged for the nights' stay. Will NEVER book on this site again & will recommend the same to anyone else.

My fiancé and I checked into our hotel only to find out we had an emergency and had to leave the next day for what originally would have been a 3 night stay. I called the hotel who informed me I would need to reach out to HotelPlanner. When I did, they were very understanding and said they would work with the hotel and that I would hear back as soon as possible. Within 3 days, I was told we would be refunded after they had worked directly with the hotel, which was so great to not have to go back & forth between multiple parties. I am actually quite livid right now. I started with 50 rooms "booked" when I originally asked for a group room BLOCK. Then I was told during this recent convo with Esther that I needed to cancel my room bookings to move forward with a group request. thinking that meant group room block request and getting approved for it, not waiting for bids... so now I am left with nothing to show when I originally had 50 rooms. This has caused me a huge headache.
My reviews have changed because my first one was before I got the group request link. Then I realized I had to wait for a bid. Which I've already asked for a bid months ago and never got one from the marriott.. and then I realized I spent 3 hours total trying to book at Mariott and the Sheraton and have nothing to show for it, besides my time wasted with people that may not be fully trained or know their job and 0 rooms blocked. I am so frustrated. I clearly asked for group room blocks for the Marriott. Not until I canceled the rooms was I told that I would have to wait for a BID. pretty much with no gaurentee. Im sitting here wondering why my request was is so difficult?

We were allowed cancellation on a room that stated no refund or cancellation because our granddaughter who is playing for IUK soccer said that they were going to be playing against Asbury University on Saturday November 9th so we hurried up and booked a room at the Comfort Inn Lexington South. Unfortunately we found out that they had to play the losing team of the Asbury/Ohio Christian match which ended up being Ohio Christian. Thankfully they were very understanding on our predicament and allowed us to cancel so where we could change locations.

I had booked a room with doubles bed (email confirmation says doubles) through my corporate site but when I showed up at the hotel, they put me in a room with a single bed. I had to pay the difference at the hotel to "upgrade" my room. When I contacted HotelPlanner about this, they said someone will call me to resolve. A month went by with no call back so I reached out to them again, they were quick to tell me to keep waiting and that tickets are answered in the order they're received. After that, since August (it's been months!) I've emailed them, called them to get a live person (no one answers), and left them voicemail for callback - all NOTHING. No response. I'm super shocked, this is horrible - you should avoid this company because they'll clearly avoid you if there are any issues.

I used your website through a the UCT Website to book a room for an upcoming trip. The room was booked at an excellent price, with a no cancellation, until I pressed confirm then found out the booking was in USD. Once the exchanged was charged the room was crazy expensive. I explained to her what my issue was, she was very understanding, told me she would get back to me in 24 to 48 hours with a resolution. I was hoping to find hotels available for a room block. This service not only didn’t provide hotels with the criteria I was looking for (they have guidelines when signing up), I have since been harassed by spam emails claiming to be from an employee, Sonia **. I have received emails nearly daily for several months from 7-8 different email accounts. I have asked to be removed from contact lists, to speak to a manager to no avail. This service was not worth the effort they are now causing.

I erroneously booked two nights at a hotel for my cousin's wedding when I only needed the Saturday evening reservation. As soon as I pressed process, I realized my error. I immediately called the support line and was encouraged to contact the hotel directly. Because it was the weekend, I wouldn't hear from them until the next week. I called the hotel and they approved the cancellation of the two-night reservation. I then followed up with an online chat. A couple of hours later I received confirmation that they would refund my stay. Fingers crossed I get the refund!

On Oct. 23rd, I reserved a room at the Holiday Inn in Bakersfield using Hotel Planner to check into the hotel the following day, Oct. 24th. I received a Status Email claiming my reservation was “Awaiting Confirmation”. The next day, my husband and I drove the 3 hours to the hotel, and when we arrived, we found out we did not have a confirmed reservation, but luckily the manager found us a room, which turned out to be nearly $40 dollars cheaper so we were happy. My husband decided to call Hotel Planner to let them know they never confirmed our reservation and to ensure they wouldn’t charge our credit card as we ended up booking and paying the hotel directly.
The agent, a woman, was not only very rude and argumentative and insisting in charging our credit card, she also hung up on my husband! The manager at the hotel also tried to reason with the woman and again, she refused to budge. It would have been very interesting to know what would have happened if the hotel was booked and we couldn’t have gotten a room and you had already taken our money. I will never ever use this company again.

DEPARTMENT RESPONSE:Dear Partner, With reference to your booking ID XXXXXXXXX:
Thank you for your email. We have contacted the property in regards to this booking issue. After validating with the hotel, we found out that this reservation has been cancelled by the hotel and they have provided a room to the guest under walk in. This is due to hotel internal issue that they were not able to find this booking upon the guest check in and only found it after. As to avoid double charge to the guest, we have cancelled this reservation as well and refund 100% of the booking value. Regards, Customer Experience Group

Issue with booking thru 3rd party site. Sarah ** was 10000% helpful. Everyone else was pointing fingers back and forth at each other trying not to have to deal with situation.
