We got a paper in the mail saying you can come and get a free android tablet if you sit in on this time-share deal. Global Vacation Network wasn’t time-share, but that’s what we looked at it as. So we went and we sat in on it. I’m not a very trusting person when it comes to things like this, I worry that I’m getting scammed and so I’m very skeptical. I was okay with the presentation. It says not all amenities are free with the condo, so you may want to pay. That’s fine with me. I think we’ve done three vacations, and they’ve all been very clean. Sometimes they’ve been very dated, like 1980s. But as long as it’s clean, I really don’t care.
One thing I haven’t really liked is we had one of those parties and had some people over so they could listen to the whole sales pitch, and get a free vacation. Though, I really didn’t expect any of them to buy, two of my friends did buy. One family said, “We’re getting ready to move my parents. Does Global do discounts with U-haul?” And the representative said they do. But, after they purchased and called to see about that, they were told Global never do discounts with U-Haul.
Also, I’ve had two experiences with both of my friends, where we had a benefit and told, “We’ll give you this perk for nothing.” I didn’t know it was not a standard thing, so I was telling my other friends about it. When they went to ask about it, they were told they don’t do that and they’ve never done that. And then I feel horrible, like I sucked them in to doing something because we’ve really enjoyed it. We recommend it to our friends and then, the first thing they call about is a big, fat mess. It’s a bummer, upsetting and frustrating.
Other than that, I hope that we continue to have good experiences. We’re going sometime in September to Lake Tahoe. Overall, I’m satisfied with Global. It was worth it.

Thanks Jamie for the honest review. This is the type of feedback we need to make Global Vacation Network better. Glad you are enjoying your vacation experiences.

All my vacations were really beautiful. When I went on a vacation with my daughter, they've been pretty good and helpful. Global Vacation is a good company. I've been hosting parties for the last three months so I'm not new with Global.

Thanks for the great review Philip, and that you are holding parties! Glad your vacations have been great.

Global Vacation Network is the most amazing thing we've ever done. We have been to their presentations several times and the first time we signed up, we really felt like it was too good to be true so we didn't actually use the vacation package for probably four years and we were just paying it off. Finally when we got it paid off, we found out that there were great tickets to be able to go to Hawaii and our first experience with Global was in Hawaii. So we have since that point gone every year. Now we have attended some of them throughout the world and some of them are high pressure and not very pleasant. Other ones are a lot more laid back. It just depends on the location.
We love the Global. Our family tried to go two times a year. That's my kids and they're grownups now. And so there are six of us and we try to go at least once and most of the time twice a year on a Global vacation because we love it so much. It's awesome. It's almost unbelievable though. When we were given this presentation it's almost like no there's no way that that can really be that good, but really it is. Our favorite location that we go to is in Cancun. This will be our fourth time that we've gone to Cancun, The Mayan Palace. This time we've upgraded to The Grand Mayan and were real excited about that. We're actually leaving in a week to go down to be there so we are super pumped. That's one of the prettiest locations that we've ever been.
We've been to the ones in Florida quite a bit. They're okay. We went to St. Martin and St. Kits. They're not that great. It's a hit or miss. But the ones that are really the best, they seem to know about them and they book them over a year in advance. The one in Aruba I've heard is spectacular. I don't even think that it's offered anymore, or if it is I have to book it like a year in advance. We love our Global package. As Doug and I get older and get closer to retirement, we know that we'll probably spend more time in the United States. Our kids are pretty particular about wanting to be on a beach. But Doug and I just want a beautiful location where it's nice and warm and we get to experience something fun and different.
All of our experiences have been so great. It's an adventure going to these different locations. You never know what you're going to get and it's an adventure. But it's definitely a lot more affordable than trying to do it on your own without the package deal. It's becoming more competitive. There are these all-inclusives that we've considered doing. We haven't done one yet, but we've looked at the pricing and they're very comparable. That would be your main competition, I would say. Hopefully they'll continue to have more, more people want to become part of the family, and they'll continue to get these really spectacular locations. I think that's what keeps us coming back is the spectacular ones like The Grand Mayan, The Mayan Palace. Those are really our favorites. The other ones were just okay.

So glad to hear you are using your Global Vacation Network membership. Hawaii sounds fantastic, and Cancun is so beautiful. The Mayan Palace is a great thing to see on vacation. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this fantastic review.

Great value that leads to having good vacations with your family or friends... I remember signing up with Global Vacation Network, and we extended our contract a little bit to get a few extra points as they call it, so we could have vacations more often. We've hosted a party at our house twice. The guy comes in (it's a little awkward in some ways), you invite your friends over, we're honest with them saying, "Hey, you're gonna get a sales pitch". But I make sure there's no pressure. It was very congenial. Pleasant, appropriate use of humor, got a lot of facts out quickly. And at each party, at least one if not two out of the four couples have signed up. So they must be seeing some value in it.
My wife and I have taken vacations we could not have afforded and had a delightful time in facilities which we probably would not have been selecting in order to save money. So, like for instance, the most recent one is my wife and I celebrated 40 years of marriage by going to Hawaii in February of this year. It was a condo that cost us $94 for the week and It happened to be a Wyndham run facility. Now, I have to pay a yearly fee of $390 when I use it but it's a good deal. I can't do a week at a place like that for $400, $500 even. And once you're there, you get into places where people make sure you have a good time. It's just not like going on vacation, selecting a motel or whatever in a town and then it's all up to you.

Congrats on 40 years of marriage Scott! Wow Hawaii, what a fantastic anniversary. So glad you are utilizing the parties, and friends are signing up. Thanks so much for leaving this great testimonial.

All of the people from GVN were excellent. I've had wonderful service each time, a 100% when it comes to quality. Also, vacations through GVN were wonderful. They did wonderful when I wanted the Coco Beach. We didn't have a way to have Coco Beach but they got that for me. I was the first one to do Coco Beach because that's where I wanted to go for spring break and they made it happen for me. BEACH FRONT.
I've been to Galtenberg... We've been to Daytona... We went to Coco Beach... and we're getting ready to go to Myrtle Beach in less than two weeks. So far, it’s been excellent. But after May, after I go to this trip (Myrtle Beach), I might have a different experience. I'm just really disappointed because I didn't get anything I asked for. We didn't get beach front but I have four condos going so I guess it had to be where it had to be. Now I just found out that we are not getting the other thing I asked for - a picnic area. My families will come in from all over for a family reunion and we have nowhere for any of us to gather. We've got rooms for 24 people but no place to get together. Every place else that I've ever had, had like a grill area with table and this had nothing. Also, on the computer it said that "you have Water Park tickets," but then when I talked to them at the condo they said "that's not too global, you don't get the Water Park tickets."
We've had it booked for probably close to 3 months and I'm just finding out, in the last two weeks, all the things that aren't there that we were supposed to have. So I'm a little bit disappointed. It's probably partly my fault because I didn't follow-up... You put your request and you fill it out what you want and I just had the assumption that I knew I didn't get beach front, but I had the assumption that all the other things were filled -- we didn't talk about them. So we'll see how it goes. But like I said everything else has always been wonderful. I've loved everything they've done.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a great review. Glad to hear about all your great vacations. Coco Beach sounds wonderful! Sounds like a great reunion.

I've been with Global now for about 15 years. Everything has been fine with where we're staying, but I don't like that most of the time you can't find any place. They're saying there is, they tell you that they can, they only have one room or something, and then of course that's always taken. We hope to plan another vacation but when we tried to book one again in June we couldn't because we waited until February and it was already taken. Everything was fine except for one vacation that wasn't Global's fault, it was the tenant's fault. The woman that owned that place, she was drunk and kept wanting to fight everybody. Totally drunk the entire time. Other than that one, everything has been fine. We never had any problems, but we do prefer to have more units available.

Thanks Gary we are trying to add new properties to the network which should make booking closer to vacatin time easier. We appreciate you taking the time to leave this review.

I went to the Ann Arbor store to sign up for GVN. I had gotten an advertisement in the mail and we went there for the presentation and it was excellent. As for booking the vacations, our experience was poor. When you're trying to call in to get a hold of anybody to schedule something, you have to leave a message and it seems like 3 or 4 days later before somebody finally gets back with you. I know they have a lot of the stuff you can do online but half the time, half of the inventory is not even available to even book yourself online. It needs to be opened up more to where a customer can do everything if they're not going to call you back in a timely manner. That's one thing that I'm not happy with. I have recommended other people that have purchased the plan but there needs to be improvement in the booking process.

Thanks for recommending people to the GVN presentation. We really appreciate your feedback, this helps us to make the program better. Thanks for your review.

The interactions with the Global Vacation Network representatives have always been very good. When we first started out, we had a lot more choices. We didn't have to worry about booking nine months ahead or six months or whatever. Now, it's much harder to get places in Florida in February. But we did just get more stars and we also have a concierge service. They said that that would help us get what we wanted. So I'm looking forward to trying that out. But most of the places we've stayed have been very good. There had been a couple that was questionable but for the most part, it's very good.

Thanks for your review, and so glad you have upgraded to receive more benefits and availablility in booking accomodations. We really appreciate your feedback.

We first heard about Global Vacation Network when we received a call from somebody. Becoming a member was fine. We did it in person. We went to a meeting down in Grand Rapids. We’re about an hour away from there. We originally attended a Global Vacation Network presentation and then we went to another program a few years back and added some more weeks or point stars. They were knowledgeable and they explained the process. They were welcoming and warm. We've been to different places and our trips have all been good.

So glad to hear you have been enjoying your Global Vacation Network, especially that you upgraded to be able to receive even more benefits. Thanks for taking the time to leave this great review for GVN, we really love hearing from our happy members.

I can't remember how we first got an invitation from them to come to a meeting. That was back in about 2001. We had a good experience. We bought three stars at that meeting and then in 2006 we upgraded to six stars. It was a great way to travel with Global Vacation Network and we had a lot of experiences. One of my favorites was Paris. We've been to Paris and Italy. We spent three weeks in Hawaii. That was a really good one too. Three different islands, a week each island. We've been to a lot of places. Santa Fe and Williamsburg and Florida.
We've been to a lot of places. We've been happy with our accommodations. Sometimes they're a little dated but they're always exactly what we want. For my bookings I usually talk to Heather. When I book our trips, she's good in getting back to us and getting things when we need them and that type of thing. We went to a meeting just a few weeks ago in Lavonia to go over any changes with the program and we did not upgrade at that time. We already have six hours and we didn't want any more.

Paris, Italy, & a week on each Hawaiian island all with your GVN membership, what great vacations! That sounds fantastic. Even some great places in America. Glad you are using the customer support also to help make your vacations great.
Thanks for taking the time to leave such a great review about your experiences.

We've been members of Global Vacation Network for as long as 8 years. Our vacations for the most part were all very satisfactory. Some were even exceptional. There was one vacation location that we weren't too pleased with but that was probably our own fault. We were too new to the program to know that we could call in and have our accommodation changed. But with that one exception, we've always had a very good time. We have had friends sign up into the program because we were satisfied. They listened to the program and also joined.
We've also had an in-home party. Now that was a failure. The in-home party did not go well and I don't think I would ever do that again. But besides that it's been a good experience. We recommend GVN all the time. We think it's a wonderful program. I know there are lots of other programs out there but we like the Global arrangement where we own nothing and we just vacation for a week at a time. It's great.

Dawn we are so glad to hear you have had such good experiences for so many years with your GVN membership. Thanks for recommending the GVN travel club to your friends, we really appreciate it. To many more happy vacations!

We came in to a presentation six years ago. We came to do something that we felt was reasonable, it went well, and we bought a package that night. But there were some things that we didn't like. It was like buying a car. The presentation was made and then it was like "Well, let me go talk to my supervisor and see if we can do something better." Then the guy left and then he came back in.
We also have a real problem with what is offered to get you in there -- It's really difficult to redeem the reward for coming into a presentation, like the gas. It was $50 worth of gas and we had to get $10 worth at that time. That's rather unreasonable. And then there was an overnight stay at Marriott or Hilton but you had to find a cashier before you can make a reservation because you couldn't use a credit card?!
We personally have been very pleased with Global with the properties we've gotten and we use it every year. Some of the properties have been a little old and tired but we understand that and for the price it's still a good deal. But because of what I mentioned above we would hesitate to have our friends go to a presentation. We also have found that we have to be flexible. We put in this year for us a condo in Naples, Florida for February. We wanted February and put it in a year ahead but we got the third week of April...

Glad to hear you have had great vacations with Global Vacation Network. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your feedback, GVN relies on these reviews to help make the membership packages better.

We really have not taken any trips for the last several years. I don't think we've even paid our due right now to be active GVN members but we did go in and have a meeting a few months ago in Grand Rapids and we paid to upgrade. Our experience with the marketing company was good. We've just had some issues in the past where we'd tried to use it. We've been members for quite a few years and we weren't happy with the quality of the places and so that's why we just kind of didn't use it anymore. And now they assure us they have many more within driving distance. The GVN reps were very nice on the phone and we did have a good visit when we went in.
Our initial Global Vacation Network presentation I just always feel very pressured in those kinds of things. It's not just Global Vacation, but where they want you to make a decision that night and if you don't then you lose any of the benefits that they promised. I don't like that kind of situation because my husband and I would rather be able to talk it over, weigh the pros and cons and make a good decision but I always feel very pressured in those situations. I do remember that. They said we could have 3 days and 2 nights at various places as kind of an extra thing and so then we did do that but then we found when we got to that place, we did have to go to the lecture and listen to a presentation about that property. And so again you feel sort of pressured to commit to, so it's not just a fun stay with no strings attached. It's really a presentation again to get you to try and commit.
I can't highly recommend because honestly we wanted this party for our kids back in 2006. We have a couple kids on the mission field and we're supporting them. We gave a week at a place in Michigan. It was the only drivable one and they had small children and couldn't afford to fly so they wanted to drive and it turned out to be just a crumbling down, falling apart old ski resort. We went up there and visited them for part of the time so that just gave us a very bad impression. We did use GVN again in 2008 in California. That was a very good location but it was very, very small, like the bed was in the living room. There was no separate bedroom. Overall, I would describe our experience with Global Vacation Network as "pressured".

Thanks Sherel for your review, GVN is trying to add more locations to the network to provide a larger choice when booking. We appreciate you taking the time to leave this review.

Attending the presentation was sort of frustrating. I got to be candid about it because there's always that pressure - “You've got to make your decision now” and all that kind of stuff but we got through it. We've now been a member of Global Vacation Network for 12 years and probably went on 12 trips, somewhere in that vicinity, and all seemed fine. They worked out the details in some of the holiday getaways and so forth so our overall experience was good.

Thanks for your feedback, and for being members for so many years. Glad to hear you have been on 12 great vacations, and hope you enjoy many more as GVN members.

I haven't planned any trips with Global Vacation Network yet. I had made a reservation through them while traveling which went very well. I was very pleased with that. It went really slick. It was back in 2006 when we took out our membership. We got a card in the mail and went to the appointment. It was interesting enough that we did sign up that night. Then sometime in December, somebody called and said they wanted to upgrade our membership. So we went and they updated our program. The girl was excellent. We have got 8 stars now rather than 5 and we have an opportunity to have a concierge all the time. We have the update of not having to pay our yearly dues unless we're going to be using a condo and have means of using the expressways. We probably use that more often than what we had before. We didn't use the express weeks. This hands us to do that a little bit more because we didn't have to pay the dues. Our dues went down plus our weekly fee would be $159 instead of the $96 that we were paying. We found the 5 stars not enough if we wanted to use our whole family at the same time. A couple of years ago, we went with the Tamarack in Wisconsin Dells and that worked out really good. We've had good experiences. It's less expensive than the regular travel. You get good prices for airline tickets or rental cars. I've had nothing but success with them and I'll continue to go with them.

Thanks Sharon for your great recommendation, and so glad to hear your family enjoyed their vacation to Tamarack in the Wisconsin Dells which worked out so well. Glad to hear you have had good experiences with GVN and that you find it is less expensive than regular travel.

We've been members of the Global Vacation Network for 15 years. We went in and upgraded our stars and everything has been fine except for one location. It was a rundown place but other than that it's been fine. I'm on the list for a next year vacation but haven't heard back yet. But they said they haven't got the condo set up yet so I'm hoping to hear soon about that.
Sometimes it's very hard to get into sites where you want to go. That's my only concern. If you don't book 13 months in advance half the time, you're not going to get in to them. Like in Michigan you got 3, 4, or 5 properties and they're totally booked up through the summer. Especially when you got so many that isn't in a local area you can't get anything. It almost makes me feel I'm flying on an airline and we got this great sale for $59 one way but we only have one seat and we need two. That's the only thing which is of high concern.

Glad you have been with GVN for 15 years, and have taken some great vacations. We are constantly searching for new properties to add to our network offering more places to stay. Thanks for being with GVN for so long.

My husband has been a member of Global Vacation Network since '95. We upgraded ourselves a couple of years ago and we went to a presentation in January. We brought a couple so it's good to learn different things, but all those times, we never knew about the cruises. There are some factors you learn little by little so it's good to attend the presentation because you find out they've been there. We made several calls and now we've put the cruise in November. We're looking forward to it.
We really liked Gatlinburg - that was the best vacation. In all the accommodations that we had, we had no problems. We're retired and free to travel but it seems like everything is peak, no matter even if it's off-season, so it's hard to understand. We're not thrilled about that. Some of those we tried six months in advance are free. It's like sometimes you can't see availability. The Global Vacation Network team is very accommodating, very knowledgeable and informative. We are not left clueless. Our last vacation was a cruise thing and they were so nice and so polite. There were a couple of agents involved and they went beyond abnormal duty. It was nice to know that there are people out there that really listen to you. Overall, I would give it a pretty top-notch. I've talked to other people with other timeshares that we're trying to convince to go to Global Vacations too.

Thanks for your glowing recommendation, and bringing in your friends also. So glad you are taking advantage of the cruises, they are so much fun. We are really glad customer service has been such a help to you.

When we first spoke with them three or four years ago when we joined, our experiences have been good. The last one that we went to for the upgrade, however, we were kind of disappointed. The way they talked on the phone was they had made some changes within the systems and they had done some upgrades and they would like to have us come in and talk to them about the upgrades. The upgrade would have cost me $5000 or $6000 more on top of what I have into it. I was happy with what I had -- I had five stars and unlimited expressways, concierge service, and they were all things that they were offering me again...
Well, anyway, we have used GVN quite extensively and love it. Most of the places we stayed at were topnotch. Great locations. It was as much a pitch for a different level of things and we just were not at that point in time interested. But the presentation was fine. The young lady that did the presentation did a fair job. She was more headed towards her goal of having us to move up to a higher level but definitely was not as high pressure as her manager or whoever came in with the offer. It was a little more forceful the lower the amount of money. But all in all it was a fine experience.

We really appreciate your feedback Steve. Glad you have been happy with GVN.

I attended a 90-minute talk regarding the company with the promise that even if I didn't sign, I was guaranteed a free flight and 2-night stay at a Marriott. I got there at 6pm and finally got out of there at 9:30! After the 90 presentation, they took us into a room with high sales people that were so rude and pushy. When I tried to explain that my current circumstances were not such that would warrant me joining at this time, my salesman actually snapped his fingers over his head and another salesman appeared by my side. This one was worse than the one I had and began to ask me very pointed questions that were none of his business regarding my current circumstances.
Finally I told them I just could not join and please give me the certificate for the flight as promised. I got the certificate alright but you would not believe all I had to do to get a flight. I had to complete a form; next another form came in the mail to which I had to send $4.95. Next I got another; I had to send $50 to reserve my reservations. It was at this point that I realized that I was not assured I would get the destination I chose, or the airlines, or the time of year! I finally just gave up. I didn't send $50 but I did send $4.95. I wanted to take my elderly parents to see my sister in California, but with Global's "fine print" that just was not possible. I was actually considering about a vacation package when things slowed down in my life but now? I would never consider them! I hope I never hear the name Global Vacation Network again.

It’s true there are some rules one must follow to redeem the promotional incentives, but I assure you there are many people who have successfully completed the registration process and enjoyed their vouchers for airfare and accommodations. Global makes sure to explain that some restrictions apply to the vouchers both verbally during the initial pre-screening phone call inviting you to the presentation as well as in print on the vouchers themselves.
We're so sorry that you had a negative experience at the presentation, but we want you to know that Global Vacation Network values your time and appreciates that you chose to spend some of it learning about the vacation values we offer to our members. We want you to enjoy the promotions that we presented to you or find one you could enjoy. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call us at 206-937-1337.

My experience with Global Vacation Network is good. They were very helpful and they worked with us well when I talked to the marketing company on the phone. I found that the people were friendly and they were really good about answering our questions and they do a real good job about doing the follow up. The only problem we had was the last trip that we had when we put our information in and then when somebody contacted us, they asked us if we would consider changing where we wanted to go or the date. They did end up moving us back a week because the place that we wanted to go to was closed for spring cleaning. But I didn't think suggesting that maybe we want to go somewhere else was really appropriate.
The other thing, it was four weeks before we even had a response and we were trying to do it to take advantage of an airline. And when you put your request in, there wasn't that much space to be specific. So at that point, it would have been easier to talk to somebody to say, “Okay, this is what we're looking for.” But in the last time, we were told that some of that’s changed and that should be better now because you go directly with somebody that they book the condos and stuff. Now that we can call someone, that problem has been eliminated. When we've gone to our places, we've been pleased and we've had great vacations.

Thanks for leaving this detailed review. We use this feedback to make our services more user friendly. Glad you have had great vacations using your Global Vacation membership.

It was a very pleasant experience talking with Global Vacation Network. They weren't too high pressure. The presentation was fine, I like going to those but my husband is the one that always signs us up. The marketing people offered us discounts and we've gotten a couple of nights some place. My husband likes anything free. The last two places we went to were very good. They were cleaner and more updated than some previous ones. The first couple of places were poor. And sometimes it's difficult to get the location that we requested.

So glad you thought the Global Vacation Network presentation was a pleasant experience, we really appreciate your feedback. It is great that the last two places you vacationed to were very good. Thanks again for taking the time to leave this review.

We were told we would be guaranteed a place if we booked 120 days in advance! This is a crock of CRAP!!!!! They lie!!!!! The sales people lie!!!! It is a waste of money! Please do not EVER EVER EVER buy this vacation club. I wish I could sell it or just get rid of it! When we did finally get a place, it was gross, moldy and small (in Myrtle Beach). I am so disappointed!!! DO NOT BUY!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!

We have called the Global Vacation Network office to book vacations. I don't feel like we've been treated respectfully. People don't return our calls in a timely manner. We had a situation last year where GVN had screwed up our reservation and we went round and round about it, until about a week before we were supposed to go and we didn't know whether we'd even be able to go on vacation. It seems like every time I call, I don’t talk to somebody. I have to leave a message and they don't seem to be around - that’s the travel part.
The marketing company have been very, very congenial. They've been supportive and very nice. I’m not as pleased with our vacation because we haven't used it a lot. I would rate the vacation office and what we've experienced last year. Our accommodations were really nice, but the way we were treated, I thought, was very badly.

Hi Diane,
Thank you for the feed back on your use of the Membership and the vacation weeks. This helps us continue to improve our service. We are continuing to add agents and expand the on line access to the vacations so our members can more easily access the vacations that we offer. I feel like we were all victims of a fraudulent business! People please research this company before you attend a creepy presentation. And they never give you the gift that is promised.

Hi Bessie,

We use it two to three times every year. The places that we have stayed have been very nice. The majority of times, we could get what we’re looking for. Sometimes, things are booked up and you have to change your ideas and hear what the girls have to say on the phone. My wife does mostly that. There’s one girl in particular, Robin, that’s her name... my wife loves to call her and she always goes out of her way to try and come up with something. She’s really good. I would recommend Global Vacation Network. I have no problems with them.

We've had a few conversations with Global Vacation Network but generally they've been pretty good. The presentation was okay. There was some sales pressure but not unduly high. We purchased an additional week; we already had two weeks with them. That part was fine. If I question anything, it's the emotional - If you come down and do this, you can sign up and get a free weekend somewhere, like we registered for and have not heard a thing yet and we can have advantages with that.
We've used the program a few times and we've been pretty happy with it. Initially we had trouble getting a reservation set, but after a while it took us getting used to the way it works and maybe have streamlined a few things. But we've been very happy with it. The first couple interactions with them we had some problems. The places weren't very clean, some of the stuff was broken. We contacted the local contact people and they came out to clear the problem almost immediately. Our last vacation that we took was a mess in the Bahamas. The place had roaches in it, ants, etc. The place is shabby. The toilet bowl had two colors in it to show that they don't even scrub the place. That is a mess. We had vacation in St. Martin the year before. That was great. But for Bahamas and what you have to pay there, it was a perfect mess. We had some in-laws with us. They wanted to go back home before because of the place was so nasty.
Global invited us the other day to office here in Michigan and we went. We were telling the representative about our experience. And they said that if we had called, Global could have found another place for us. Well we say, nobody ever told us that before or else we would have called them when we got there and I then saw the place. But we didn’t know. But for future reference, if we go any place and we don't like it, then we will call Global and let them know.

I've been with Global Vacation Network since like 2003, and I’m really happy. I think they were professional and friendly. I was recently divorced a year ago, and so money’s tight. They didn't give me a very heavy sales pitch, but I thought that I could probably squeeze my finances around and upgrade my package because I think it’s such a good deal. If you're not a part of Global Vacation package, it’s a neat deal. When you’re 56 and your kids are all raised, it caters more to that. If you like to travel at my age, now is the time. Travelling and working, it’s hard to save up money to go. And if you can get a reasonable price on your condo, that really helps you to be able to go to some pretty fun places. It’s a good deal.

I am so glad to hear you are having some great vacations with your Global Vacation Network membership. You are so right about going to all those fun places on vacation, now is the time! Thanks for your great review, and please have a lot more fun vacationing with GVN.

Lisa was our Global Vacation Network salesperson, and she showed us all these wonderful things and when we went back and actually looked at the things, she left things out. We were taken aback with that. We have the concierge thing but we have to pay for that every year. That was never ever mentioned. It was never brought up that we get it for this year, and if we want to use it, we have to pay for it again next year. Another big selling point was we were told that no matter how many bedrooms, it was one price. We were disappointed with that because it was only for an express week. That was never mentioned either and we've never used an express week.
The vacations have all been good, except for one time. It was Sparks-Reno, in Reno. The place was a dive. It was terrible. I wouldn't even take off my shoes. I wouldn't take off my jacket and I said I'm not staying here. But we got contacted with someone right away. They handled it right away. They took care of it and we were moved right then to a newer unit. So that was very nice. All the other times we've been very happy with what we have gotten when we have booked different places.
We have hosted two parties. We were told that we were supposed to get money for bringing in other couples and we've never gotten anything yet. So I've been meaning to call them on that. We plan on using more of our vacation weeks and that's why were interested when we got the call to go back in and upgrade. However, all the good selling points were not made clear.

I went in and I reviewed my package with them and he kept saying, “Well, you were supposed to bring your paperwork.” I was like, “I signed up nine years ago. I don’t know where my paperwork is! I do everything online. Why do I need my paperwork?” And it looks like they would have records of what I have without me telling them what I have.
I was supposed to get a $50 gift card, which he forgot to give me. They mailed it to me. In fact, I tried to - I was going to use it today. They said you have to call this number. I called and they’re like, “Oh, well it’s not going to be activated for a week.” I was like, “What?! That’s ridiculous!” But Allison, that was in North Carolina, I know she’s been fantastic and anytime I called there, I usually don’t have any problems and every place I've ever stayed at has been fantastic. I just got back from Maui in December and oh my God! The location was fabulous!

On the phone, the people at Global Vacation Network were very pleasant and very nice and that's why I went ahead and did what they asked me if I would do. The presentation however was a different ball of wax. My daughter Katie lives in Grand Rapids and she and her husband were going to come with me, and we set it quite late at 8:30 so he could be there but he ended up working over. He works in Holland which is 40 or 50 miles away, and he called her and said, "Honey, I'm not gonna be able to make it to that meeting because I won't be home in time" and so we just said okay. But then they told me, "Well we can't do anything for her or for you because he's not here." They weren't going to do what I was promised so I said to Katie "just call him and see if he's home and maybe he'll just run over here because it's worth it to me." And so he did and they come over.
What the girl tried to sell me was an extension so to speak of the GV that I have and I just cannot see it because my husband passed away since we bought it and one of my sons has used it once. I have a daughter and maybe two more sons who may want to use it someday. They're pastors and that kind of thing and they don't make a lot of money so we have to just use it as we can afford it. And because we have to pay the yearly fee if we use it that year I decided that I didn't want to update because frankly I felt that it would be good money after bad. We didn't need it, it would be different if my sons and daughter were all clamoring for it but they aren't.
I didn't have a pleasant experience because the girl's attitude once I told her that I had made the decision, was more pressure and arguing with my son-in-law... Then another man came over and he was even more unpleasant. In fact he said, "Well, I think anybody's stupid that doesn't take advantage of this." He turned me off. So there's no way that I was going to do it after that...
Everything that happened when my husband Al and I first bought the program and everything that happened when my son used it that year were very good (Al and I had used it before he passed) but this particular instance was unpleasant. Also one time they promised us a weekend in a motel. Two nights and three days. But when we got home and we were reading the brochure, we have to put money up front and if something came up like we were sick or we couldn't make it we would lose that $50. Then there was a lot of strings attached to it so both of us just decided we're probably not even going to use it.

There are times that we are pleased with Global Vacation Network and then there are times that we’re very frustrated with them. They make it sound like you can get whatever they got available when that’s not really the case. Our goal was to go on one vacation always at Spring Break and usually in Florida where it’s nice and warm. But we discovered that in order for us to get a place in Florida that we want we have to literally call the year before.
When we get ready to leave, we put in our place for that next year. So it has a whole year, so we’re first on the list of the first availability in that area. And we have found that most times that we do that, that we are pretty successful. What’s frustrating is they say they have Express Weeks, and that you can go anytime, anywhere. Well, that’s really not true.
We’re happy because we definitely have gotten our money back in what we've invested. So, overall we were not dissatisfied with the program because we have gotten our money back and then some. I would just recommend that anybody who’s gonna become a member of Global, is that if you know what place you wanna go and the time you wanna go, try to put it in as soon as possible - like a year in advance, to almost guarantee a spot.

The main thing I signed up with Global Vacation Network is that in contrast to the RCI affiliated or location-specific timeshare, I could just go wherever I wanted as long as Global is affiliated with someone in that area. I don't have to trade with people for a timeshare. Interaction with Global was typically good - you put in a vacation request and someone calls you back and follows up on it. It's good, pleasant, fun experience. Vacation is good. We used them last month and went to Blue Ridge Resort down at North Carolina. It was a nice resort and updated so they're excellent. Accommodations were good with granite countertops in the kitchen and nice, clean rooms that were not from 1970s so it was cool.

I have wonderful and not so good experiences with Global Vacation Network - good majority of the time but some of couple of places weren't exactly what we expected them to be, like the bed was just absolutely horrible and you wished you could have switched the place and left. Last year in Cassini, the bed was acutely so horrible that I slept on the couch. Some of the places are privately owned and so they can't switch you, but if that's the case then the people who owned the places should make sure that the accommodations are right for the money that you pay to stay there.

We've had Global Vacation membership for years now since 2000 or 2001. They tell you that if you end up getting a place that you don’t like or is not up to your standards, you could call the 800 number and they will relocate you. Once we went to Marcus Island and that place was really a mess and we weren't able to be relocated. We usually would go to Florida Thanksgiving time and so there wasn't anything available but twice we've gotten really shoddy condos and nothing was ever done to compensate. My last experience with them this past summer, I took a girlfriend trip and we all stayed at condos in Myrtle Beach and that was a nice experience. The lady making our reservations was very accommodating. But the only thing I have a problem with is that I requested two- to three-bedroom condos. Since they didn't have that available, I think it's unfair that I had to pay a process fee for two bedrooms. It wasn't my fault that they didn't have what I asked for. But they were pretty good.

The only thing that I don’t like about it is they tell everybody and put it all out there that you’re going to be out on their front balcony facing the ocean and that’s not true. One time we were a quarter mile away from the beach. That would be my only thing that I don’t agree with when they come and do a presentation. They are putting it out there that if you sign up you're always going to be king and queen, but you are really not. Other than that, I haven’t really had a bad experience.
It's always been some kind of a battle to go where you want to go but I don’t know if it changes if you pay more for your membership or if it gets any better easier. I'm okay with it. For what we pay to get in, we've had some good experiences traveling. However the whole experience is too complicated and you have to go through too many steps.

Over the years I've done a couple of GVN parties and I went to a presentation recently. It was terrible. We've been members for a while and enjoyed our membership and used it. We were asked to come in to learn some information on upgrade in terms of the membership and told a lot of information that turned out to be false. We upgraded our membership and then retracted it when we found out. It left a really bad taste in our mouths.
They told us that we would gain access to a lot more condos than we had access to with our current membership. When we joined there were a set number and then later a bunch of other higher quality ones were added and we did not have access to those ones currently but would get access if we upgraded. We were told that the website would be completely different once we upgraded and that when we came in, we were going to get a free vacation week that was one of the Global week and that contracted out through something else. Because we hosted a party before, we had trouble using the Time Out one that they had given us as an incentive. I had specifically asked, when called and asked to attend the party or upgrade information, was it that same type of incentive week because we had trouble with all the restrictions working with scheduling that. They told us no, it was actually a Global Vacation week that we could request the date and that turned out to be false also.
I was totally satisfied and enjoying the club until that experience. I tried to set up The Time Out Vacation recently and had an unexpected death in the family over Christmas. I was very depressed trying to take advantage of the Time Out vacation and was frustrated with the way I was treated on that process as well. There's still a good plan with the club. They don't need to oversell it and lie to people about it. It feels bad that that's the way it went down and they feel the need to do that. I couldn't feel good about encouraging a friend to buy into it at this point. We did before because we had parties and had invited friends but not right now. The manager at the location did reimburse the charges for the upgrade once she found out what happened. She followed through with that but I feel like that's the least they could have done.

Hi P. T.,
We are SO sorry to hear about your experience! Especially after you were so happy with the membership. We will make sure this situation is corrected. We look forward to having your well placed confidence in GVN restored.

We attended a GVN presentation to join and hosted parties also. The experience was good. We just felt like they needed to be a little bit more upfront and open as to what they're offering as far as what's available. They should go into details if you get upgraded that there's an extra cost. All that stuff needs to be spelled out from the beginning. That would be our major complaint but when we host the parties we do tell people exactly what's what but it should come from the representative. We've taken some vacations and been out west, to Idaho. We've gone to quite a few places south and east. The accommodations were excellent. Our first one was a bummer because we went to Myrtle Beach and it was a dirty place but they made it right.

I’ve never had a problem with GVN. They’ve always been very pleasant and they’re not too pushy. I’ve spoken to them lots of times. Their presentation was very low key also. We never felt a lot of pressure or anything. We’ve used our vacation stars. And those have been all good. We’ve never been disappointed with where we went. When we first got it about 8 years ago, the promotion of 2 nights’ stay, we got somewhere that was horrible. The accommodation was horrible and they basically forced the presentation down our throats and I reported that to Global. When we got back, they apologized and said they weren’t using that company anymore.
They always respond quickly. And we were on a cruise twice with Global staffers and they were all very pleasant and a lot of fun. The gal we dealt with in the Grand Rapids office way back when was excellent and very pleasant, and we really enjoyed her! We’ve been happy with our vacations and the Expressway weeks. They gave us an idea of what kind of increases there would be in the maintenance fees and they’ve been true to that too, so I don’t have anything negative to say about them at all. It’s been excellent!

The GVN team was very nice. They just helped me through that. I thought since I wasn’t told, that wasn’t quite fair so I did not like that. We have gone on vacations and have been very pleased with the accommodations. The booking process was fairly smooth. Our only complaint would be when we host the parties, which we really enjoy doing, that we’re only allowed one condo stay in a 12-month period. That makes it hard because it makes us not want to host parties. And also, if we could give them to our family members too that would be good.

We attended a GVN presentation a year ago in September and we joined. And then, during that time I took advantage of all of the specials that Global uses. So over the course of the year, we had 8 weeks of vacation with Global. My husband and I were featured in November 11th Member Monday. We did Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks. And then we did Ruskin, FL and Panama City, FL, and then we came back up. We came home and then we decided to go back to South Carolina because we were thinking about spending our winter down there, so we took 2 weeks there. And then in September, we went down to Daytona Beach for 2 weeks. And then last week, we were in Branson. So we really love the program. I had a party and two of the couples joined from the party.
Global is a real bang for the buck! What I think truly helped our friends decide was while we were on vacation in all those places, we invited them to come stay with us. So they had the opportunity to experience it before they bought it. We think it’s a tremendous value. Before we go into a unit, I take pictures of every room and then actually write a critique sheet for that condo, and then also do a formula in Excel to show us how fast that we actually paid ourselves back. I think next, we’re going to Vermont and New Hampshire next May and we will actually have made all of our money back. I can honestly say one of the things I have on my critique sheet is “Did something go wrong at the condo and how quickly was it repaired?”, and that has had a real high success rate.

We’ve had very good experiences with Global Vacation Network. We first went to a GVN presentation 8 yrs ago in one of those deals where they say, “Oh, you get a free this or that if you come to a presentation,” and we did that. We’ve used Global for the last 3 years. We’ve used them in Spain, in the Lake District in England and we are currently using them in Florida. We’re already booked for this coming year in Florida. When you book, you send it up in writing, and then it continues online. And then you have to talk to a representative to finalize each deal. So it’s a combination. It was easy to book.... You just need to know the rules… You need to book way in advance. Like for a party, you almost have to be a year in advance. And if you do that, then you’re in good shape. It’s not a last minute type thing. It's excellent!

We had a Global Vacation Network party a couple of years ago and we didn’t have any success with it. They offered the things to the customers but it was within a too short of a period of time and nobody was able to go so it was not a huge success at all. They have asked us to do another one and we have said no until people are retired. Sometimes you can’t always get the time off and that was the problem I was having and then it was just too much of a hassle for them to do. Unfortunately nobody took advantage of the trips that were offered then for attending the party.
We did go on a trip earlier when I first got it but I work really strange hours and my husband’s Canadian and so consequently we’ve had a problem getting together at that time. And we’ve been really, really busy since I retired just trying to make it back to not going somewhere and doing something so it’s been a real adjustment.
We want to plan and we’re hoping on a trip to Germany and a few other things. After the holidays, we will have some time to figure out what we’re going to do. Because we did use it before (we went on our honeymoon with it), I can’t say enough. It was very good for us. They were very accommodating at that time. I’m looking forward to being able to use it again.
Every time they call us and want to set up a party, they’re very congenial and they always call and check up to see if everything is okay if we’re ready for one. But it was really hard to work in a party. So I think it’s more for people who have more time off and maybe I don’t have the right friends. There are some people that just make the time and I guess we’re just not one of those people. I would love to be using this but I’m hoping that next year we’ll start.

I hosted a GVN party and it worked out really well. We had three couples and two couples bought. There was no high pressure at all. I think it was probably because it was such a good price because we’ve had ours for 10 years. They made it the same price and so they felt like that was too good of a price to pass up.
We also take about two of GVN’s vacation a year. We have two scheduled already to Florida. We’re going to spend a week on the Gulf Coast and a week on the East Coast. We have not used 2013 yet but our schedule is for January and February because our time ends in February. When it comes to booking, I usually talk to somebody on the phone. I usually fill out the paper and fax it and talk to them on the phone. But I will probably now start to do that same process online. But then someone calls you. They make you an offer online and then you call them, talk to them and confirm or get any information they need or whatever.
Overall, it’s been a good experience. You have all different levels of things. Sometimes you go and it’s not a super wonderful place. They’re always clean and serviceable. Some are really nice. There’s a lot of difference in the level. And you can go wherever there’s a resort. I think the biggest downfall is that you can’t go to any cities like Washington, DC or New York City. They don’t have any properties there so they only do resort areas. Now, you can do an outskirt. If you’re somewhere in an outskirt that’s close enough, you can go to those things. It’s a condo-based thing.
The only thing negative is this party thing and I’m going to take that up with them. They offer you this little bonus thing that is just a pain in the butt and it’s useless to me. And you pay 50 bucks for it upfront then we still haven’t heard from them. And the party was just in July. But that’s not directly with Global; that’s some deal they had that’s an add-on. Had I not already sent my $50, I would not pursue it at all. It’s like a two-day vacation somewhere and they make it impossible to do.

I really like St. Maarten and the places we stayed at, not so good at Myrtle Beach. My membership begins in October. I put in my thing in online. That was the only way you could do it. And nobody got back to me it seemed like for almost a month. I couldn’t get the condos that I wanted.
I ended up getting one bedroom condos. I was taking my sister with us. We weren’t even on the same floor. We were going back and forth and back and forth with things. A lot of it was my fault because I really thought that hopefully, something would come up with two bedrooms. And it never came up and we didn’t get into a condo until January.
It was just an okay condo. Nothing I would recommend to anybody. The thing that bothered me is in previous years before I had the vacation club... I had made reservations in February for a two bedroom condo and gotten a nice one on my own. So that’s why it was kind of bothersome. I would recommend it to my friends, although I do tell them about Myrtle Beach.

They don’t have a lot of new facilities yet. But the other places, Myrtle Beach, it goes into the Hollywood factor - it was built up in the ‘70s. The one in Colorado was nice. Our first experience going to a GVN seminar that they put on was in Grand Rapids, MI and we first saw them then as a group and watched video and had a presentation and talked. And then if we were interested, we sat down one-on-one and talked and discussed different prices, different actions, different number of stars, purchase and how and what they do. We did buy into it and we thought it was important for our family to continue on doing things together and we thought it was a good opportunity because we don’t have a cottage per se, where the family can hang out and do things, so we wanted it yearly. At least once a year, we all go to a condo and spend a week together.
I work for the school so it worked out that now every Christmas, between Christmas and New Year to go somewhere or spring break. So it’s kind of an opportunity to keep the family together while seeing that I work for the school I had other friends that I would like to see my opportunities. So we’ve hosted I think 3 or 4 parties already and sold quite a few packages for them. We’ve also gone on to quite a few vacations with GVN. There’s a variety of condos out there. Some that are big, 13 floors and some that are only smaller, 2 floors whatever. Some that are quite deluxe and some that are not as deluxe. So I guess depending on what you want and what you’re looking for, the availability and stuff like that, you get some options.
I would say I’ve recommended GVN to friends. It’s still your choice and you have options to either say, "No, I'm interested in that condo” or “What are my other options or different deals?” or what like that. They’re not perfect but there’s opportunity to improve but yes, every place has that. There’s a possibility that there could be a little bit improvement in something.

I usually just provide feedback to Global when I get home. So if there were some concerns with the property, I usually let them know at that time.
The Mexico property was outstanding. I remember that. It was really nice. And there was one in Florida as well that was very nice on Naples. The others have been mediocre. The properties tend to be a little older and in need of repair and redoing. For the most part, the bookings went pretty well. I think it could be better if they could get a response center. It’s hard to put in a request and then wait six months, nine months or whatever and then off you’re going to go. Sometimes, you don’t get the response very quickly. I give them a 4, but I feel like the price is getting prohibitive now. The annual fees and each time you rent, I think we could probably find property on our own that’s the same price.

We went to a presentation ourselves when we got Global Vacation Network and then we’ve had two parties. We have gone on vacations with them and we haven’t had any issues at all so far. We also did a cruise. Actually, ours turned out perfect. GVN made all the reservations, everything for us, and everything worked great. But for everybody that signed up in our parties, we had like five people sign up, and none of them has gotten the free vacation that they actually signed up for. And everything that they want or anytime that they want, there’s nothing available.
My brother-in-law wanted to go to Hawaii, and Hurricane Susan, that’s the only time they have available. All the other times, everything was booked. My brother-in-law was going to do a cruise from somebody else but he just paid for all this. This doesn’t make any sense to me.
And my nephew, they got the free vacation and they called on the telephone to find out what they had available. They were going to Orlando. They told them they didn’t have a one-bedroom available in Orlando. So they could put them outside of Orlando but it would be like 45 minutes to an hour away. So they agreed to it. So they told us they had to have a $200 deposit. So they sent that in. When they got the reservations at this place that they booked them at, bottom line, it’s called the Roach Hotel, and it’s two hours away from Disney, and they have two little kids. And so, now they’re trying to get the $200 back and they can’t get their $200 back.
Although everything worked great for us, GVN made us look bad to the five couples that signed up and they had put a lot of money into it. So far, I haven’t had one that has received anything back on their vacation. They sent in their deposit and everything. And they wanted to go and they’re telling them that they have to wait 45 days before they can actually make reservations to go anywhere. They had a 45-day notice. And our party was in June. They wanted to go in the first part of November and now they can’t go.

I’ve been to Kauai once and the main island. We’ve also been to Santa Fe, NM, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and Puerto Vallarta two years in a row. That resort is absolutely amazing.
To book the vacations, you have to put your request in. Well, it depends. There’s two ways. I’m a member so I’ve done it both ways. Being a member, you have to put your request in online and then they call you or email you within 48 hours after you’ve put your request in and let you know what’s available. If it’s way far in advance like 6 months or something, say, I wanted something now for next April. They wouldn’t know their inventory yet so they wouldn’t get back to me until probably January to let me know. But they do not take your money at that time until you’ve looked at the resort and said, “Okay, I will stay there.” Overall, it’s a great program.

There are things that I’ve been looking at toward the time before I got involved with Global and I think the way they contacted me was like I got a phone call and typically I don’t listen to who’s trying to call and he was very polite. He asked me a few questions and asked if he could explain a few things to me, very upfront and I said okay. So he explained a few things to me about if you come to this, come listen to this and you’ll get a 3-day vacation whatever. So I started asking questions because I’m looking into obviously some kind of vacation property and he answered all my questions and everything he had to say I liked so we went to the presentation and that’s when we got involved.

I hosted a party for Global Vacation Network. It went fine but unfortunately, nobody bought. But the guy did a good presentation. I have gone on many vacations with them, probably 20 or more. I’ve not gone overseas, but I’ve gone all over the country from California to Maine. They’ve all been good.
The booking process with the team at GVN has been very good. We usually send in a form and then they contact us. It’s been an excellent program for me.

I went to a presentation and had a great time. I ended up purchasing. I also have gotten numerous of my friends to buy in and they’ve totally enjoyed it. They’ve never had an experience they haven’t liked so far. I wouldn’t have people buy into it or come to my parties if I didn’t think it was a good deal. I’ve thrown 2 parties for Global Vacation Network and the people that I’ve invited have bought five memberships. In fact, three of us are going to gather there to Mexico in March.
Booking with Global Vacation Network was great for me. But I think a lot of people misuse it. They get upset. I’ve read a lot of their reviews and people complain about it but they don’t know how to use the system. I mean you can call up 30 days in advance and get it… I myself have never had a problem getting anywhere that I wanted to go. I have never had a problem with them, never. I arrange at least 8 weeks a year with them. I have been to Daytona. I have been to Myrtle Beach. I have been to Hanauma Beach, Mexico, Kentucky. I have been to a lot of places (I’m a single guy). If I had a companion I’ll probably go overseas. Anyway I’m going to Fort Lauderdale. I can leave on the 20th of this month and come back on the 11th. I'll spend two weeks in there, one Saturday to Saturday and one Friday to Friday.

We hosted GVN parties. We went to the Ann Arbor, MI office first off and that’s how we found out and then we’ve had parties. The parties are fun and informative. We had plenty of people sign up. The booking process is pretty good. I like the new online setup that they got now. That’s really nice. They have very good staff with them. We recommend. We go on vacations at least 2 or 3 times a year. We went to St. Thomas. We go a lot to Florida. Mostly we’re in Alabama. So those are most of the places we’ve gone at this point. I tell everybody about Global. We vacation more frequently because it’s less expensive.

We attended a GVN presentation about 3 to 5 years ago now and then we hosted one recently. It was good. The hosting one was a little longer than we anticipated it would be. He was a little late because of finding our house. I think he just talked too much. We’ve been members for 3 years. We’ve been to Hawaii and Florida and Arizona and Oregon and Wisconsin and Michigan and Pennsylvania. They’ve all gone well. Each location has its own personality. The booking process was smooth. We understand it pretty well. Once you make a reservation, like if something’s not available that we wanted, once you have an agent, it’s easy to get a hold of them and talk about it and figure it out. The website is pretty cut and dry like pick a place and pick a date. But when you’re talking to people, there’s a little more flexibility. They can say, “Well, we have it available here but not there.” They’re good with that so we appreciate that. I think we get good value and great locations to visit. I would recommend GVN to friends.

We’ve been pretty impressed with our vacations from Global Vacation Network and don’t really have any complaints. We got one coming up in October. I think we’ve done about 4 or 5 years now most. We’ve been to the Smoky Mountains. There was a pine lodge down there for $1000 a night supposedly, and that was nice. We’ve been in Breckenridge and Frisco. Both facilities there were nice. We were at Myrtle Beach right after the fires down there but that didn’t impact us and the beach experience is not my thing but it was nice. We would have been better off going to South Carolina where most of the history was that we were interested in. That’s a 3-hour drive each way down. We did that three different days but we’re going to Meramec next month and Wisconsin. We were also at Carrboro two years ago and my wife really likes that area and it was nice except the weather was cold and spring didn’t spring when it was supposed to but it was good. The facilities have been good.
As for booking vacations, we had some problems with the credit card thing. It seems to be a big deal. Sometimes the credit cards works and other times it doesn’t. So outside of that, I don’t think there’s been a big deal.

Actually, I did not really care that much for my experience there with the GVN presentation. But since then, we’ve had home parties. And those are great. It’s more personalized. There was an event that they had us out without an office, when they have a bunch of people there. And it wasn’t a personal. The thing was we had to sit there through all the stuff that we already knew, like they explained the difference between a condo and a hotel. Well, you could stay in the condos forever. We just want them to cut to the chase and get to the deal. And you can do that with your home parties but well, those things, there are so many people there that they have to inform everybody of everything. The only one promo that I even like is the one that they’ve earned through themselves. I don’t like any of the other ones because you had to jump through so many hoops. The good thing is they’ll switch their gift over. I’ve never had any problems with getting them to make sure that I got my gift. But anytime I’ve used a gift that was outside of their control, I’ve never gotten it.
We’ve been on several vacations with them. We went to Panama City Beach, Florida several times. We went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee a couple of times, and then we also went to Clearwater, Florida with Treasure Island, Florida last year. They were all good experiences. We went to Myrtle Beach a couple of times also. I thought they did it really well with contacting them and making it easy for us.
We recommend it to all of our friends. There are some things I think that they can improve upon but nothing major. I think everything’s great the way they contact you and keep up-to-date with you. I just think that they need to buy more properties. The availability of the property sometimes is what I think can get you in trouble because sometimes you have to let them know so far in advance to get a property. And some people don’t have the luxury of saying, “Hey, I’m going on vacation in six months, and I want to go here.” There are a lot of times my wife and I would just say, “Hey, we’re going to go on vacation in two weeks” or something like that. But then again, I guess they also have the Express Weeks. They have a lot of ways they try to accommodate for us so, overall, we’re very satisfied with it. It’s been a great value as far as not just the money, but it allows us to go on vacation and can save time. We go on vacation and spend time with our family that we wouldn’t be able to do otherwise because of the price of vacations, we’re not going to be able to take as many.

We went on two vacations this summer to places we booked with Global Vacation. We just went to Gulf Shores in Alabama. We go on two or three every year. Well, it went well. The booking process was reasonable. It’s not like totally easy because we have to give them like where we want to go and I say just come back and say what to have and what do we want, one bedroom or more than one bedroom. It’s just going through the process. I would not say it’s hard. It’s just going through it. And it’s not like, you’d call up and you’re all set. But will going to take up more than one contact. So that’s the only reason really why it’s not “easy”. We’re good with it. We’ve had other people that we know didn’t have good experience, but we’re right there. We like to take vacations just to take vacations, not kind of visit relatives. So it’s been very good for us.

I hosted a GVN presentation not long ago. It was good. We’ve hosted a couple of different parties. We were happy with the promotional options of the Global one. The other one, not too much. We had one where you could stay at a Marriott Hotel or something like that. They have these cute little names and I was not happy with that one. In fact, some of the people that have chosen that one, they all were calling me and saying, “Nothing worked.” The people were very rude and they weren’t flexible at all. Everybody that took that one basically just didn’t get a gift at all, including us. The Global one, however, is what I tell everybody to use because that one is good, flexible and they work with you in places and dates. And if you change your mind, they will probably try to be as accommodating as they can be.
We’ve been going on vacations with Global Vacation Network for many years now and we love them. That’s why we have parties. I wouldn’t promote them if I wasn’t happy with them. The cost was really good; it’s so reasonable for the places that you did. For a whole week, people are astounded at how cheap it is. We’ve gone everywhere. Last year, we used the one in Hawaii, in Point Pierre, or something like that. We’ve used a lot of places.
This Friday, we’re leaving for Yellowstone. We’re getting a stay like two nights here and one night there. Two nights there so Global, that doesn’t really work with Global but I wish it was because we’re spending so much money. It's like, “Man, I wish we’d get this for at least a couple of nights.” It doesn’t work when you’re travelling from Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. It doesn’t work that way unless you want to spend your whole day on the road. Not going to do that.
I would say it’s a wonderful vacation for a great value! It’s really, really incredible since we do travel a lot. It’s a nice place that you could just stay at for so reasonable price. I would recommend GVN to many friends. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends and have a host party if I didn’t feel like it was a good product. It’s all good. I’ve been very, very happy with them and I’ve been a member for a long time and I don’t think there’s been one year that has gone by that we haven’t used it.

I attended a Global Vacation presentation originally when we bought this in 1996 or 1998. Since then we went to Hawaii 3 times and we’re going to Maui and Kauai with them this year. We’ve been to Florida 4 times with this program. We’ve been up to north Michigan twice and Myrtle Beach once last fall. The experience was good. They don’t owe us a penny. If they went out to business, we’d be just fine. We’ve gotten our money’s worth and then some.
I’ve actually gone to their office in Clearwater when we vacationed down there and I’d met my travel agents face to face so I have real people that I know and that I deal with. And I’m very happy with the program.
I’m doing a vacation party for them on Sunday and in two weeks, two other parties for them. And our friends, two of them have bought with the same program. But it does have some downsides. You have to be able to plan ahead for a long time. If you can plan your vacation out a year, there’s a good chance you’re going to get what you asked for in a location. If you’re expecting oceanfront five-star resort, it’s not that kind of a place. But you didn’t pay that kind of money. It will put you where you want to be and if that makes you happy, it’s the program for you.

My interactions with the GVN team were really good. I had a good rapport with the team members that were there when we first started. Since then, they’ve moved on, but it was very good. I never had a problem. If I had any, I just had to call them and they corrected it.
Everybody should go with them. I’ve even had people come over and listen to a rep talk about Global. I think it’s a very reasonable vacation plan especially in today’s times compared to a resort where you have to pay taxes on it every year and service fee all the time.

My husband usually takes care of the booking. They do it online instead of calling to book or faxing like they used to. We do use it for our kids for their honeymoons. We have five kids and they all but one used it for their honeymoons. And that was basically why we got into it. We started out with a smaller package and then we gradually added on to that as we used it more and more. But they’ve been to the Caymans. We’ve recommended it to friends and family.

We’ve been to California. We have a trip scheduled in January to Cancun. Yeah, we have nothing but good things to say!
We’ve had pleasant experiences with our interactions with the travel agents at GVN. There’s never a problem. Everybody’s always been very helpful. If something’s not available, they find us something available. I was not happy with my husband when we bought into it. And it’s the best thing we’ve ever done!

It was the first time we’ve ever done anything like this but the GVN presentation itself seemed pretty realistic and pretty reasonable and fair. And then after the presentation, they took us back to the sales pitch area to speak with the sales representative. It went pretty well. We ended up paying far more than what we could have paid and I’m not sure if that’s just because of poor negotiating on our part. I’m not sure but I mean, we paid roughly $7000 for our package. Well, we haven’t had a problem since we’ve owned the package, I guess.
We’ve gone on vacations with them and they’ve gone really well. The vacations have been nice. What we’re noticing is the availability. The longer that we’re in the program, the availability of what we would like seems to be dwindling. We kind of vacationed locally in Ocean City, Maryland. So the first time we used it, we flew to Florida and went to Universal and that was fantastic. And then the first time we used it for our Ocean City vacation, it was nice. We got a three bedroom. We have a large family. At the time, it was six. Now, it’s seven people. It was great. It worked out well.
The second time we used Global Vacation Network this past summer, we had put in a request shortly after we got back from the last vacation in 2012. And we didn’t hear anything for a very long time. And then when our request was approved, it was for a two-bedroom unit which we only found out about a month before our vacation. I believe maybe two months before our vacation when it was actually approved. We had requested for a three. They said there was nothing available, but if we want to pay more, they could look for another two-bedroom unit close to where we were so we could possibly split the family up.
So that’s been our experience. We’ve not really used it to travel overseas or anything like that. We haven’t taken full advantage of the travel agency or the buyer’s program or anything like that, all the other amenities that come with the package. I mean, our standards are real high and so far, we’ve been happy with what we’ve gotten. It’s just that we’re noticing a little more pushback from Global and it’s becoming more difficult, it seems, to get what we need. I would say do your homework and research what you’re going to get into. But it’s a good program. It’s just not all it’s cracked up to be at the presentation.

A few years ago we went to a intro meeting for Global connections in Tinley Park, Illinois. We were told/shown all the wonderful places we could visit at world class resorts, that the lifetime membership is to share with family and friends, and that we would have worldwide accessibility, and if they didn't have a facility/resort/hotel in a place we wanted to visit they could utilize the other time share organizations to find us somewhere to stay. Not a problem they told us. To date we have never been able to use this program. I called 7 months ahead this year to book a place anywhere in Greece. Anywhere! They said that they would get back to me. Finally they left me a message to say everything was already booked!! I called back and asked how could there be nowhere in Greece? Early April is the very start of the season, the Mediterranean is not even warm. I know Greece well.
I finally get out of the agent that the only place they rent out is a motel/hotel on Crete. I looked it up and it is a second rate place with really bad reviews. Disgusting! This was not the first time either. I have on numerous occasions asked for accommodations to different spots and nothing is EVER available. Unless you are willing to go at the drop of a hat on one of their hotline specials, planning ahead or closer to the date, to a popular destination or even out of the way destination, it is near impossible, and actually I would say impossible, since it has never happened. Just to go anywhere near Mackinac Island, Michigan, was impossible. I have called numerous times to voice my dissatisfaction and talked to managers who said they would personally check for me and find something, but inevitably, they would simply leave a message to say they're looking and would call asap. She never returned the call ever.
One of the managers had a district manager call me to assure me they were legitimate and gave me instructions on how to work the program to my benefit better. Are you kidding? They talk a great game and they don't deliver, and they make money hand over fist. They are a second rate organization as far as I am concerned. I am out a few thousand and they suffer no consequences for ripping off people left and right. This club is a huge disappointment!!! Save your money!! There are so many deals on Groupon and Social Living and other online travel options that put this place to shame. Don't waste your time or money!!!

We have taken vacations with Global Vacation Network. We like Global very, very well. I could probably count up a number of vacations we’ve taken but it's many and there was only one place that we didn’t care for. Everything else was very satisfactory and if they couldn’t provide us what we requested, frequently they would find another property; whether it was with Wyndham or an RCI exchange they’d put us, they’d put a lease of and that was always lovely too. So we have been very satisfied with Global.
We just came back from a vacation. This time we wanted to go to Gatlinburg but the Global properties were full so they offered us a Wyndham property in Sevierville which is just north and it was wonderful. Wonderful. The condo itself was especially comfortable and apparently, it’s not unusual at a Wyndham resort for them to bring in nightly entertainment. So we had professional entertainment three nights that week. It was wonderful.
It was just the in-home presentation part that did not work well for us. We had a GVN presentation in our home; we were the hosts. We didn’t like the presentation at all and would never do that again. In fact, we had another couple that were interested and we said, “It would be better if we call the office and tell them you’re coming and why don't you just do it there.” We were told that people that signed up on our recommendation would sign up at the price point that we had enrolled in and he started his promotion at twice that cost. It makes us all look ridiculous. It’s like “Well, c’mon, that’s not what we told our friends we paid nor was that what’s supposed to be offered to them.” They said, “Oh, yeah, we have other deals and this and that.” I said, “Well, aren’t they supposed to be able to sign up for the same deal that we got?” “Well, yes.”
When we bought our package that was a thousand dollars for each star that you purchase. You can buy two. You really need two for a vacation. You can buy 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 and so they actually tell our friends. When he comes and tells them that it costs $12,000 to be in the program, it makes us look ridiculous. I mean that isn’t right. I don’t know how these people are trained but the whole issue was it just went over poorly and none of our friends signed up naturally.
But the one that we sent to the office telling him what to expect, they bought in for the 6 stars. They bought as much as they could. So anyway it was just embarrassing but we had a nice time. They're our friends. I had them all for dinner. I fixed a nice dinner. It’s a nice evening. Other than that, we think GVN offers wonderful value. We always recommend Global.

We’re getting ready in fact to set up our vacation for Hawaii through them. We're planning to do that in the fall. This year my son did use our vacation package and went to Orlando, Florida because he is involved in volleyball and went down to the sports center down there. And he’s taken a 3 bedroom promo.
The interactions I had with the team at Global Vacation were very good. They were helpful. In fact, it was nice to get a hold of somebody and they absolutely just walk through everything and took care of everything, which is nice. We have about 800 clients here at our office. And we have passed them to nearly everybody. And we just told everybody how much we've really liked it for the price. I think it was really well worth it. So, we're waiting to really experience for ourselves this year to see how we're going to do. Our son loved it. He thought it was a great experience. It will be two years in November since we signed up with Global Discovery. We had a lot of questions when we were there at the presentation and in looking around the room as after we met with our individual counselor, we think that we were like the last couple there. They were very patient with us and they answered all of our questions. I will say in the very beginning, I think it was somewhat difficult to get a hold of them simply because you seem to have to go through a number of channels. Sometimes their hours aren't always convenient when you work full-time and by the time you get home and realize it it's like, 'Oh, shoot. They're closed.'
To be honest, you go into this thinking, 'This is a scam. There's got to be a catch somewhere.' And not having any experience in this type of situation personally, even though we did commit to joining Global Discovery Network, I think there were always some reservations in our mind. We certainly had utilized Global Discovery for two vacations that we have taken since then. My husband lately has probably had more contact with them than I have because he's the one that actually communicated with them to schedule our last vacation and I think all of those communications have been just fine.
I will say I'm very pleased with some of the changes that they had made in their website to give more information to us as a member of Global Discovery without having to call all the time to check out availability and things like that. I think that has really enhanced my experience as a consumer and makes me more likely to use their services. It's been a pleasant surprise. We have recommended them to a friend.

I had some real problems with our trip. We flew from Michigan to Vegas and then rented a car and had the date set up for Wednesday. And on the road, my husband called and said, 'They confirmed your check in for tomorrow.' I said, 'No, that's wrong.' Because we were checking in on Wednesday and we were going to be gone a week. They had the date wrong. And so we had to find a room that night and I said, 'We'll check in tomorrow and I'll take care of this.' My husband called and they would not help us. They got the date wrong and had us returning on Friday the following week when our plane was leaving on Wednesday. So it was not even close to what we set up. And they said, 'Well, there's nothing we can do for you.' We got a room and I said, 'Well, we'll just check in tomorrow.' They said there was a lock box on the door. Okay.
We went to our conference and found our room. It was in the worst part of town that it could possibly be in. We could hardly get our car into the spot. We were literally a few feet from the front door of the bar next door. We had people drunk and throwing up at the foot of our car. We tried to get in the room. The lock box wouldn't work. We couldn't even get in.
It was awful. I'm sure it doesn't always happen that way. It wasn't that we weren't in the location as far as city wise where we wanted to be but we paid what we're told was a certain quality of room or accommodations, and it was dangerous, dangerous, dangerous in all the other places we talked to so that you don't want to be anywhere in that part of town. It was terrible because we've made deposits and all that and did it in good faith. I've got my niece with me, and we can't even get into the room. It was like midnight, 'We got to get out of here. This is really bad.'
I tried making a phone call. We couldn't get an answer for anybody. We had to drive farther into Long Beach to find a hotel and ended up having to pay for a hotel that was very costly for the rest of the week. So we never even checked in to the room.

It was pain free to get the vacation schedule. We told them where we wanted to go and what times, and they got back to us right away and had what we wanted. We used the vacation just a couple of weeks ago. We went down to the Orlando area and it was real easy to use. I would recommend them.

I attended the GVN presentation. Well, I joined so it was successful. I have been very, very satisfied. I just want to keep it like it was the best kept secret, I guess sometimes.

They were offering a tablet. It's not the Apple operating system. It's the other one. . It's what really caught my eye and then so I really wanted that. That's why I went to their presentation. But that was pretty cheap so I ended up like discarding it. Then the other thing they offered was like a free vacation. That ended up being pretty crappy because you have to do it at certain times and I just work so we couldn't accommodate that either. I guess the prizes were kind of worthless to us, but that's why I went in the first place. I didn't think that I was going to go in there and participate, but they were fine. The GVN team has been very accommodating and satisfactory.

I went up to a presentation. I'm sure it did begin on time. It was informative and it was a positive thing. We ended up with the roundtrip, it was the plane fare, promo. We didn't use it because it didn't work out. There were so many conditions on a plane fare that we couldn't use it in conjunction with the vacation.
With the GVN team, I won't say it was easy, but part of it might be trying to get used to the system. If I call and leave a message, I don't always get the next day call back. But I do get a call back. I'd say that the choices aren't as many or as timely as I was led to believe, but they've been pretty reliable to work with, I think.

The people from Global Vacation Network have always been very courteous and very wonderful. We use our vacation weeks and we're also planning on taking a cruise really soon. The condos have been very, very nice. When I request something, they made the time exactly what I needed. I have not had anything except very, very nice experiences with them. I have recommended them to a friend.

The GVN presentation went really well. It was long time ago but I'm sure it did begin on time. Out of all the promotional options, my favorite was probably the one where they offered us a three week or having a party or having people in. We've never had a problem. I've always been pleased. If there was a problem, if there was something that wasn't available, they always work to get something else. They've always been very nice.

When we first heard about them, we went to a friend's house. We were supposed to get some kind of weekend voucher and some restaurant card. We got the card settled but I don't have the vouchers for a free vacation - a week of vacation. Nobody that went to the presentation got it. I am aware that we were supposed to get both and we only got the restaurant card, not the week vacation like the kids said that we will be getting for going to that presentation.
I'm trying to think they were okay. They said that they had to have so many referrals in order to get some kind of voucher or something for a vacation. We didn't get anything ever. They called me to have parties and stuff and all people are going to get a vacation. I said I'm not going because I've already had a bad experience since they didn't follow through in a way they said they were going to.
Overall, sometimes we're happy, sometimes we're not. I was not happy with the fact that they don't follow through with some of the things they were going to and the timeframe of things sometimes takes a lot longer when you want to book things. Anyway, it's okay when it works.

Hello.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We apologize that you have not received your promotional trip. If you can call me or email me with your name and address I will have one sent to you right away.

Don't waste your time with this company. They continually change their methods, approaches and prizes to get you to sit through a lecture, which upon completion, you do not receive your end of the deal. Lastly, your information is not safe with them. Soon after, the cell number I used was continually being called by other marketers. Coincidence, eh?

Sorry for the issues you seem to be having. We see about 30,000 people a year and do the best we can to avoid these. If and when we they occur we do stand ready to help fix it. Please email me directly at gvnterryd@gmail.com and I'll help you. Since we don't resell info - coincidence, is correct.

During the one on one presentation, they asked you where you like to vacation. We told the salesman, Dave **, that we travel regularly to Traverse City. He went to the computer and told us that they currently have an agreement with Pinestead Reef Resort. We were sold as we thought that at least we could use this location or something similar. When we tried to book something in Traverse City, we were told that they did not have an agreement with Pinestead Reef Resort nor did they ever have an agreement with this resort. They do not have an agreement with anyone even close to Traverse City beachfront. They find out your locations of interest then they tell you what you want to hear.
Of course, when I called to complain, they point to the contract stating that they cannot promise any specific properties. I made the mistake of taking these guys at their word. I spoke with an Andrew who told me he was VP of sales. He was cordial but there was no satisfactory resolution. He asked me to call the travel agent again to see if she could find something in the area and promised to check back with me in a week.

We purchased their package for $4,500.00, and have not been able to get any deal. We contacted our credit card (American Express) and have not been able to get our money back. I can not find purchase items to meet my expectations. The travel hotel card is a joke, as they think Motel 6 is okay. We want our money back! How do we do this?

The entire process is a ripoff. The gifts they do offer are garbage in quality. The airline tickets cost you as much as a sale ticket when you are done. They offer limited use and a lot of stipulations. The company is not rated, as stated. They do not follow-up on any complaints.

If you attend, the company states that you will receive "free" gifts with no obligation to purchase their vacation services for $12,900. The only problem is that these gifts aren't "free". You need to pay service fees to claim them, up to $150.00. They call themselves a company that prides themselves on "word of mouth". However, they have no business cards. And they lied about saying that they were rated an "A" company by the BBB when in fact they are a "D".

My wife and I went to a presentation about a Vacation Time Share in Orlando, FL. We went mainly because of the incentives. I will admit there was no hard sell. Before you read any further, I know the old saying, "If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't." Fortunately, we didn't get screwed like other people may. We were told one of the incentives was a free five-day trip to anywhere in the U.S. which included a round-trip plane fare and a three-day stay at a resort. We had to send in a coupon indicating where we wanted to go and send in a $50.00 per person refundable money order as "good faith". The money order was to be sent certified mail. Unfortunately, I missed the certified mail part.
They returned a check of theirs for $100.00 because we did send them $100.00. Their reason was I didn't send it certified which they said voided the entire trip. Nowhere on the form (unless I missed this) does it say the trip would be voided. When I talked to them, they explained the reason for the certified mail was they have people send money orders and claiming the company cashed their money order and didn't apply toward their vacation. I told them some people may be stupid, but I kept my receipt and if nothing happens, I can call with proof. The company response, silence. I also mentioned we believe if we would have sent it certified mail, there would have been another reason why the application was voided. They didn't respond the way you think they would. First, there was silence. Then, an attempt at denial but not much. I talked to many people at different locations. I will admit some of them did call me. A couple of them were strangely quiet when I told them where they called from, as in they didn't want me to know their location.
The last call was someone telling me we would receive "another" trip but would not be like the first one. This trip was to consist of a week vacation at a resort (theirs?), but we had to get there. We never received this. This trip had many restrictions as to when we could go. It should be no surprise the entire summer was off limits plus most of the rest of the year. The only thing we got from them, besides a bunch of lies, was a $50.00 American Express credit card. They all acted like they would do something, but in the end, nothing except the credit card. Beside the trip, there were other incentives we never received. Since we didn't really lose money, we did lose incentives they "claimed" were ours. To us, this is a scam. I want you to know at no time did I yell nor did I swear at them. They knew I wasn't happy. At times, their professionalism wasn't there.

got a phone call from this young women at 9:56am on my cel phone(private)at work stating that she is representing a law firm and that I owe for global vacation networks. I started to tell her that my wife and I attended this vacation 90 minute presentation and signed up. We were never presented with the "free gifts" and after making 3 payments stopped, as we had felft that they were diseptive and misleading, and especially after we sent by fedx the paperwork directly to receive the vacation vouchers, and the fedx package was refused.
She didn't care to listen she didn't let me finish she was rude, ill mannered, and got me quite upset. Then she proceeded to tell me that I was going to be sued and I would be receiving a letter in the mail. No lawyers office would have a women like that represent them. I found that when I called the phone number back I got a voice recording saying this is the law office of Joel Cardis llc, no live person, and when I tried to put the phone number on the web, or reverse look up it does not exist 610-382-5116.
