    I was told with a 2000$ upgrade I would have so much more for the Caribbean options I go every year. For the last seven months I have been checking every day trying to book something by the end of the year. This might be the first year we don’t go which is super disappointing after spending that much money being told I would have so many choices :(. There are less options than I had before the upgrade and it’s very disappointing. Also was told if we can’t find something that they would look into other timeshare companies and get us what we’re looking for. After calling and asking if we could do that I was told it’s almost damn near impossible to do. I went on RCI site and so many places to stay in Saint Maarten! I has never been so disappointed with Global Connections.

    Hi Megan,

    There are currently over a thousand vacation weeks available for instant confirmation in the Caribbean. Over all, there are many more choices with the new program. The membership has never had a set number of resorts in any area since our inventory of vacation resort weeks is constantly changing and the web site only shows resorts that have weeks available for instant confirmation. The agents can look for additional options for you and will let you know if options are likely.

    We joined in February 2014. We have never used the program but not because we didn't like it but didn't take the time. I found out late they charged us the membership fee on our anniversary date each year even though we didn't use it (that was the deal, don't use it don't get charged). I talked with a gentleman and he offered me 3 options to receive the $1600+interest overcharge. This was August of 2018.

    I have emailed several times, called and left messages on his work phone posted on his email, called the Dublin Oh office I had just went to a meeting at, left a message for the salesman I meet with and still have not received a call or email. I am in the process of gathering emails phone records and contract to send to the Attorney General. They charged me again this February and I immediately used the "contact us" on the website and told them they needed to drop the $410 because I didn't use the service. No number to call so I have no proof I contacted them. My salesman said it happens and I should ask for all the options and have my account paid off!

    I’ve been reading these reviews and can totally stand by what they are saying. We got sucked into a presentation by winning a raffle prize. 3 day vacation. We wound up in the high pressure sales presentation. We kept refusing to buy in. Finally they came back with a “sold back” package. 2 stars, 4 stars for expressways. $2000 buy in which I thought was pretty good compared to what others paid. Our first trip was a resort in San Diego. $189 for the week once we paid the yearly fee and used both stars. Vacation was fantastic!!! I checked what it would have cost had we booked directly with the resort. It would have exceeded 2K for 7 days. So we basically got our money back in the first trip.

    Since then we’ve used it several times for Florida. No problems. But lately I’ve noticed the same issues with available places. Horrible choices and never available when requested. They tried calling us to “update” our package and I pretty much told them no way!!! I said I didn’t like the high pressure sales tactics they used the first time so no way am I coming in again. I’m pretty sure this is why I no longer can find anything I would book. Thanks for all of your posts. I knew they were fishing for more money when they started calling.

    There may be more options and benefits with newer updates to the membership but we are maintaining all of the previous vacation memberships as well. Resort availabilities can fluctuate and so being flexible and providing advanced notice are still the best tools to use in order to get the most choices from your membership.     My husband and I have been Global Discovery Vacations members since 2014 and we're really happy with our purchase in the beginning. Over the years the amount of properties available for booking kept declining to a point where there are only 2 destinations in the summer on their website - Arizona desert and California desert. Last year, while vacationing, we were invited to attend a "meeting" which turned out to be a sales presentation where we were offered an upgrade for several thousand dollars which would have given us access to more properties, and would have increased our star credits.

    Well, we are working people with a son in high school, and our three weeks per year are enough vacation for us. Besides, we were not prepared to make such decision within 45 minutes so we declined the offer. When I posted my complaint about the situation, Andrew from Global Network contacted me and advised me to call an agent when booking, and they would give me more choices. Well, that did work last year but please keep in mind we are not too picky - we got Arizona in August.

    Last week I contacted an agent again to ask for availability for this Summer. The lady was very helpful but both properties that she found for us were two-bedroom ($193 for the second bedroom), and required an additional $295 "peak season" fee. In other words, each vacation week would have cost us $658 with 1 star credit. Add the $410 annual membership fee to that and you will end up with a sum that would probably be enough to cover a simple vacation arrangement without GVN's assistance. Unfortunately, I already paid our membership for this year so we are stuck and we will have to go to either Arizona or California just so we don't waste it. Luckily, we have the option not to pay if we don't travel with Global. I learned my lesson for next year!

    The lady Cassidy was very nice however they are promising customers things that they are not giving. They really need to not try to sell a 7000 package in 1 hour. That is not enough time for me to make a decision. It's not the money. It's the trust. Where is my 25$ Amazon card and my vacation package to Vegas?

    My wife and I bought membership and at first were very satisfied but every year the availability of places is not there and the locations of the ones that are available are either dumps or in the middle of nowhere. If things don't improve soon I will be contacting an attorney to get pro-rated portion of the initial price back. Advice is if it seems too good to be true it is. That certainly stands true for this company. I will say Nicole is very nice and does try to be helpful but her hands are tied.

    I purchased this 10 years ago. It was great for years. Then I noticed the condominium availability had went to almost nonexistent. I would call and they would email me the same condos that were on the website, that was a joke. Then I get a phone call asking me to join a webinar scheduled to go over the upgrades and I agreed. She showed me the platform that I was using and then showed the upgrades and I was blown away. I got really excited and she told me they put millions into making this better. I was thinking to myself, "This is great," I paid them close to 5k ten years ago and they put that money to use along with all the other members. Then all of a sudden BAM... "In order to use this we need you to pay more money." She put me on hold and my blood started to boil.

    When she came back I ask her, "So what you're saying is Global took my and all other members' money and used it to make this better for the new customers and we have to pay more or suffer with the old platform. Is the cable company running this company?" If I pay to improve my house the mortgage payment doesn't go up. I would guess that a lot of their members are on a fixed income and can't afford to pay more for something they already paid for. If there is a class action on these guys, please let me know. I am calling a class action lawyer to see what I can do. I'd like my money back. Why on earth wouldn't we be grandfathered in. My only choices for summer condos are Arizona or California in the summer for the most part so it's shake or bake are my only option. What a joke. They talked to me like I was a child setting up the appointment also.

    This dude was saying stuff like, "Do you understand and you better be prepared for this call, don't waste our time." I am a 49 year old man that makes damn good money and I won't waste it on something that I have already paid for. She wanted 8k more from me. Hahaha. I buy vacations on CheapCaribbean.com all the time. Cheaper than I can get it on here, so why would I pay 8k more? But we all know they scammed some of my fellow members and they didn't get me twice. Shame on you Global Discovery. Shame on you.

    This started in the typical fashion of being offered a free tablet. I told my SO not to go. She got sucked in at the meeting and I was there with her. They kept us there longer than they told us the presentation would last. We were told that we would be getting a package with "three stars" but they wrote down and only gave us "two stars" then charged us the same price quoted for three. The salesman used high pressure sales tactics, wasted the first 1.5 hours of the presentation telling us that what they were selling isn't a timeshare nor anything related to it.

    The same salesman committed fraud on our application. I work, my significant other hasn't worked in three years. They set the plan up under her name then made me the co-signer while lying about her income. We both very plainly told the man she makes nothing and doesn't work, he wrote down an income anyway just to get the application approved. Me and my significant other broke up half of a year ago, she had to declare bankruptcy and now I'm saddled with the bill. I'm sitting here weighing legal options like bankruptcy or the Attorney General. Do not sign anything, do not trust that you will get a solid product. The entire process felt like something out of Glengarry Glen Ross.

    I went to Global sell production. After reading reviews everything went on make sense. They said always available, no blackout days. Timeshares sales said same thing. Why these people I'm reading say they can't book nothing there. I seen where it says power by RCI. I am a member of RCI. I had more problem with them than anyone. They lie you like a rug lay on floor. I not only one people talks at vacation. A lot of people said same thing. All they want your money and leave them alone. They change phone #, promise you anything make a sale.

    We received a letter in the mail to renew for our membership. We paid off everything and haven't used our membership yet, except for our free trip. We were told we would not have to pay our $435 yearly fee if we didn't use it that year. They did this last time too and we had to call and make sure they didn't charge us. I've called twice and my husband called twice and no one has called back. Pretty sure this place is a scam. Also, our free trip wasn't that nice. It was dark and looked dirty. I doubt it's ever been updated. Don't purchase a membership through them. Waste of money and time!!

    My husband and I purchased a vacation package a few years ago and were very excited with what the package had to offer. Fast forward to today and the only time we have been able to use our package was the free gift vacation we received at the presentation. This was not due to a lack of trying. Each time we have attempted to use the program, we are told there is nothing available in the locations we want to go. We have tried to book vacations in Florida, New Mexico and even Alabama. We looked into 3 separate cruises too. For each of these attempts we were told there was nothing available in the timeframes we were searching.

    I would really like to use this service one day, but it doesn't seem to fit our lives no matter what or where we try to go. Our most recent request was to visit Albuquerque New Mexico over Thanksgiving. The closest they could get us was Santa Fe. Over an hour away. Too far to drive for family visits. We haven't fully given up on this program, but we are close. I imagine they don't give refunds when the program just doesn't work, but I sure would like one. We paid a lot of money to get our one "free" trip.

    My husband and I listened to their presentation and decided to sign up. We were paying our payments but when we went to use it there were no available cabins on the cruise ships we were wanting to book or the price was higher than what I could book it for online. Now we have this huge bill in collections for something we never used and paid them quite a bit of money already for nothing.

    Hi Beth, In addition to the main value of your membership there are fixed discounted prices for select cabins on select cruise lines. Like any reservation system the cabins are booked on a first come first serve basis so advanced notice is key. If the discounted cabins that are only available through your membership have been sold out for a particular date or ship, than you can book a non discounted cabin or select a different date or ship.

    Don’t do it! My mother-in-law paid $250 to have her membership transferred to us so we could enjoy what she hadn’t used in 11 years due to health issues. We would have to pay another $5000.00 to even be able to “see” what and where we could go. All I want is my mom to get her $250.00 back. Have left 6 messages over past 3 weeks (BTW she paid this in April! It took this long to even get this far!) and of course, nobody can call me back. DO NOT BUY INTO THIS SCAM!

    You would never have to upgrade the membership in order see vacation availabilities and travel with it. Your mother-in-law gave you a 'golden oldy' of a vacation membership that allows you to place a vacation request for a location and date with advanced notice, then, one of our booking agents would contact you with options of places that you could confirm.

    I want my money back and cancel my contract ASAP! I "purchased" a membership to this organization, and because I was a Goldstar family member of the military, they "gave" me what they call a better deal. Four month later I lost my job, and wanted to cancel the membership but was told I could only reduce my payments; that was almost two years ago. I have moved to another state, and tried on numerous occasions to call, to cancel this contract, and receive no call back at all. Darn. Wasted $$$!

    However every other month, I received an call with an invitation to come in because the company was "reorganizing"... I've call the 1-877-214-9699, ask to speak to Ruby, voicemail only--I left a message, and honestly, Not One Person return my call. I will have to agree this is a scam and I wish to God I had never heard of them. This is nothing but a huge scam. Stay away.

    We signed up 2 years ago and have only once found a resort in a destination we want. When we went there, all amenities were extra charge so we ended up paying a lot more than we would have without Global for another hotel. We signed up through a 'special offer' but were not told that we would be charged an 18% finance fee every month! We are out of a lot of money and we're told by phone we cannot cancel this. The representatives who gave us their business cards are not reachable and their numbers are not in service. We would like to cancel our membership!

    We have been Global Discovery Vacations members for three years now. We haven't had many opportunities to use their services but overall we were satisfied with the program. It really is a hit or miss but we are not picky so we tried to make the best out of our vacations. The company recently increased our membership fees but we thought there was an inflation rate to consider so we were OK with that.

    While we were vacationing with Global last month, we were called and asked to go for a brief meeting to their nearby office since our membership needed to be updated. I specifically asked if that was going to be a sales presentation because we had friends with us. I was told that "no, it was not going to be anything like that", and we would each (our friends and our family) get a free one-week vacation for the trouble (which we did at the end). So we went, and sure enough that WAS a presentation, where the agent was trying to sell us an "upgrade" for $2600 in order to gain more star weeks, and more hotel choices.

    First of all, we were quite upset that we had to drag our friends along and waste their time, and second - we were definitely not prepared to spend that kind of money on such a short notice, so we denied the offer. After we came back home, I started looking for a new destination for our last star week for the year, and to my surprise there was nothing to choose from! One bedroom condos were a real treasure to find, and for the month of August there were only TWO options, both in Arizona! They sure want us to upgrade!

    When we first signed up with Global, we thought that we had made a great choice, giving us the opportunity, therefore the motivation, to travel and take time away from our busy lives. We were never told that at some point we would have to upgrade, for about the same price we paid only three years ago, to be able to enjoy our "life-time" investment. Right now I feel like we were tricked and would not recommend the company to any of my friends. Still wondering what to do with the one star week we have left.

    This company took advantage of me as a senior by being very high pressure and having inexperienced agents wait on us (one was in training). Also, telling us that it didn't matter where you traveled it was all $187.00 per week. We specifically asked about Hawaii and yes was the answer. When we tried to schedule, not only was nothing available, but the prices were triple what was promised. Also, we tried calling many times only to be put forever on hold and when leaving messages were never called back. Just recently when we tried to get out of the contract they were very rude saying we signed and had to hold up to our part. The problem was they never held up their part of the contract by being deceiving and lying. Stay away from Global Vacation Network!!!!

    My parents bought a 5 star package in their retirement. They never ended up using due to sudden poor health. My dad always told me... “It goes to you kids when we die.” Apparently not! Apparently they would have had to transfer it BEFORE their death. So if you own and die suddenly... Global gets your package back free and clear. Global rep just told me my dad KNEW that when he bought it... sounds like a hidden scam to me. My dad was so proud he and mom were leaving something for his children to enjoy after he and mom passed! My dad passed suddenly first and my mother was paralyzed her last 4 years of life so couldn’t notarize anything! After global told me all this... they then offer to sell me a "discounted" package! REALLY!!? I think this place is a scam to weasel money out of old people!!!

    My husband and I purchased this travel plan 5 years ago. We have never been able to use the vacation "stars" or time due to the lack of destination locations and time of year. All resorts located in Florida etc. are during the peak Hurricane season. Even if you are looking at off peak times to travel the destinations are usually not available or cost more than what is being sold. Also, do NOT attend a presentation. They will promise some sort of gift but you will leave with a $5 gift card to Walmart of the like and think you are getting a 3-4 day Cruise. However, once you read the fine print and all the reviews you will see that you never get the cruise but pay additional $200+ in fees. The whole program is a SCAM and they hope that folks like my husband and I just give up. I will be looking to take this company to small claims court in order to re-coup some of our funds.

    My husband and I went to a presentation and bought with Global Vacation Network back in 2007 when we lived near Chicago. The salespeople were very helpful and they even got me some peanut M&M's when my blood sugar started to dip since we were there past dinner time. We were quite skeptical that they could work with my husband's difficult schedule and were concerned with the time restraints of our three school age children. In the end we decided to give it a try and we both agree that we're glad that we did. We've always loved to travel and wanted an affordable way to take our children to other states and other countries as they got older and be able to return to areas in Europe and Mexico where we had traveled during our engagement. We held our breath and put in our first vacation request for the Wisconsin Dells.

    We were delighted to discover that the two bedroom accommodations at the Tamarack in the Dells were more than adequate, the full kitchen had everything that we needed and more and that most of the places had washers and dryers. Over the next few years we found similar accommodations with Global in MI, IN, OH, TN and SC. Myrtle Beach has become a family favorite and we've been back several times using different resorts there with our Global membership. We have had a few small problems with some of the places (keys, A/C unit and a shower). In each case the resort or Global has stepped up to fix the problem. We've found that it's best to contact the resort first if there's a problem and only reach out to Global if the resort staff doesn't handle it.

    The membership has had some upgrades over the years and we've purchased more "star credits" so we can get larger units and travel more often. We've been able to take 4 vacation weeks a year for the last several years and have taken the whole family to Spain and France and Mexico with the Global Vacation program and have plans for Australia and Ireland.     We've been members since 2002, and so there have been many improvements through the years that we were not aware of with Global Vacation Network. I wish I had known Andrew (GVN customer service specialist) before I wrote my earlier review--Andrew spent a great deal of time discussing the program with us and sharing information on how to get the most out of our membership, and he well-informed us of how the program has improved over the years.

    Global Vacation has taken steps to improve communication between GVN owned properties and non owned properties to ensure a safe and relaxing vacation for their members. The customer service side of GVN has greatly improved over the years as well, and we recently had the opportunity to speak with them simultaneously while working with Andrew, and we were very impressed and look forward to speaking with them in the future. As our issues were genuine, GVN took responsibility and they have worked diligently to resolve all of our issues. We look forward to vacationing using our Global Vacation membership now and into the future.

    We were called by Global back in 2002. Very high pressure and confusing. We were offered the deal for $7500 originally. When we refused, they came down and down and down. $2600 and we were gone after a five hours sales pitch. The problem is we paid very high interest on the $2600. So they still got their money. The bigger problem was after we paid it off. They called again. We were so young, we were new business owners and had no attorney check the paperwork for us. These kind of contracts should never be considered without being looked over by an attorney. But it's not like we had the opportunity. That price was only good that one moment. When we got called back that second time three years later, we had not even used it except for the free hotel stay in Hawaii, which was a nasty hotel, and for a Disney trip we took just weeks after purchasing the package.

    So we hadn't really gotten used to how it all worked. Very confusing. Anyway, we were nuts to go back, but the way they got us to go back for another contract was (Darren **) Customer Service Manager, this was like the year 2005, said that they wanted to make good on the package. He claimed that some people didn't get what they were promised and that they wanted to make sure we got everything we should have gotten. He said the last thing they wanted was for people to come back down the road, upset, that they found out they didn't get the same thing that others got. WOW! We fell hook line and sinker.

    The first time really was not a ripoff. If not for the second time around life would be great. Perhaps that is why they really called us back. They reviewed some contracts and found they didn't get enough money to really make out good. Darren ** told us they had added some new resorts and they even added cruises. We could get on that cruise list if we paid another $2600. I advised him we couldn't do it because of the high interest rate on the previous contract. Yeah, the interest rate was so high we ended up paying about $7000. We should not have gone back, but we did and we signed when he said the interest rate would not be so high this time.

    The problem I discovered later was that the annual fee that was originally not to exceed $359 was now not to exceed $700. Darren never mentioned that the annual fee would change and we didn't catch on until it was too late. I called Global and they refused to change it. I tried to call Darren ** but the number was no longer in service. Of course it wasn't in service! Basically there is not much savings. Especially when there is no guarantee the place you will get is even as superb as they said the places would be. It's hit or miss. Some places are awful and some are really nice.

    We are now considering going to Mexico using Global. We did go two years ago and we stayed at the Canto Del Sol, which was very nice. No complaints about the room or resort really, just the staff. After our Global package experience my husband and I decided never ever under no circumstance would we attend any such type of sales sessions. And believe me there have been many just like Global that have surfaced over the years. And they are getting more clever and it's way easier for them to commit fraud on your credit cards.

    I will say this, and I hope Global keeps themselves at bay and avoids temptations to commit fraud on their members--Since I spoke to Global directly when reserving my vacation, and the office is in the US (which doesn't mean they can't fraud us, it just means so far they haven't. Not that I can see). I provided my credit card to pay everything including the taxes. Global informed me that there is an all inclusive offer of $1000 per person for the buffet, but they we could decide that later once we were in Mexico if we chose, or we could do it right then over the phone. I turned it down because it was quite a steep price. That's $2000 for food for two for one week.

    I am familiar with Mexico and I chose to shop for groceries and prepare our meals in our fully equipped condo. I paid Global over the phone via credit card and my credit card information has so far been safe. So far no fraud has been committed on my accounts. If I had paid via credit card anything in Mexico things would have turned out much different. We arrived in Mexico and the hotel staff at Canto Del Sol was made up partially of RNC representatives and they insisted on having us attend a 50% off breakfast--in a huge room set up like a Global sales conference room. We refused. But when they wouldn't stop stalking us everywhere we went, we finally agreed to go. They wanted our credit card number. We told them we would pay cash. They were instantly upset. That's what we thought! They were going to one way or another get us to buy a vacation package via giving us discounted food and a high sales pressure pitch.

    This was our vacation! For three days, they stalked us. They called our room. They followed us when they saw us eating food on the premises and they confronted us wanting to know how we got the food since we had not purchased the food plan. They carry clipboards probably with everyone's name, room number, and who knows what else. Anyway, we advised we bought the food at the grocery store and brought it here. They walked away, and then they huddled in a corner having a discussion. They would glance over at us now and then.

    Incidentally, the resort is stripped of vending machines completely. There is no place to purchase food for cash. You have to provide a credit card and they don't even particularly allow you to purchase a single meal out at the cafe or even a drink at the bar. We don't drink alcohol, but we did attempt to buy a coke. The guy looked at us strange and gave it to us for free. It was late in the evening when this occurred and that's probably the only reason they gave it to us. What happened was that after they continued to stalk us and continually trying to get us to attend the breakfast (which we never did) and to bring a credit card we went to the front desk and told them what had been going on (not that they didn't know already) but we told them this needed to stop. That under no circumstance are we giving them our credit card.

    We also complained about how they refused to let anyone purchase food, and how there were no vending machines to buy snack or beverages, or even medicine. We told them we had figured out that most of the staff are actually a group of sales people dressed like hotel staff and we do not want to purchase anything. We told them we have Global and we do not want another package. They agreed to leave us alone. They even agreed to let us pay for some food with cash. We never did buy the food. We were fed up. Pun unintended! But we did still have a great time once we got them off our case. When I got home I called Global and asked if they were aware of the RNC (can't remember what it stands for but they are online and there are many complaints about them frauding people via credit cards) staff and that they harass members. Global said no.

    I told them about our experience with there being no vending machines and how we couldn't buy food, and how we were confronted when we were spotted eating our own food. Global acted surprised. I'm not sure if they were really surprised. I think they know this goes on and they either choose not to do anything about it, or they can't do anything about it, or they are in on it. I certainly hope not. I really do want to use Global without being robbed. I've paid enough. I just want to enjoy my vacations now. We are planning to go soon back to Mexico, but we will likely stay at Krystal International resort as Can Del Sol has no room available. We will see how it goes.

    When my wife and I first bought our membership from Global, we couldn't have been happier with our choice to join. We took some great vacations. The money you save is unbelievable. For the past few years, we have used other vacation options, and haven't used our Global membership. This year we decided we wanted to take advantage of our membership again. They have some changes since we last used our membership. A gentleman from Global came to our home and I was upset about the changes that were made. But I believe the whole thing was a misunderstanding on my part. We were still able to get a three-bedroom condo on the beach in July. Since writing my original review, I have been contacted by Global, and they have answered all my questions. I would urge people to consider Global. I wish I could remove my original review, and I look forward to using Global for my vacation needs in the future.

    My wife and I bought a membership to Global Vacation Network several years ago. This year we were going to try to go to a beach. Anywhere just a beach. A representative from Global came to our home, and wanted to sell us an upgrade on our membership for $2000 dollars. We declined. Now when I look on their website and try to find something on the beach seven months from now, nothing. In fact I have one option, and that is in Costa Rica. One option in the whole world. But if I pay the $2000 dollars, I have tons of options in Florida, and South Carolina. We originally payed $5800 for our membership. But nobody told us we would have to pay thousands of dollars every so many years to keep using our membership. Please don't buy what they are selling. Just look at what the Better Business Bureau has to say about Global.

    Let's see this is a part of the Global discoveries, and I have had it for a few years now. Initially I was happy but I can tell you there has been a definite slide downward. The last place I stayed was horrible, with cockroaches, a queen bed that was two cheap twin beds pushed together! The pictures on the internet showed you a pool a nice beach area, and then after you pay and get there you are told "sorry nothing is guaranteed" and they show the tiny writing on the receipt AFTER you pay! There is also always an upsell they tell you that you need to take time out of your vacation to visit them to go over changes in your package... Well they just get you to go into up sell you and get you to pay more for more selections. And then when you say no thanks they won't even give you what you were promised to come to begin with.

    I spent weeks calling and complaining and leaving bad reviews online before I get what I was promised. And then my vacation week of a lifetime is very limited and they promise you nothing! You pick a state that is all and good luck! And for the icing I am looking to book 5 months out for a LOW season cause that is ALL you get to pick from and you have to give them 200$ deposit 5 months out or up to 12 months out if you don't book...

    I don't mind giving a deposit but how about I do that when I check in? Not half a year in advance! And you don't get your deposit back for 2 weeks after your vacation is over? Wow. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It started out nice and has turned into a total disaster. Rude, pushy sales people and horrible customer service when you call!

    Global Vacation is such a great vacation club. We have been able to travel to different locations/resorts and meet so many new people. Our experience far surpasses anything we could have hoped for. We have recommended Global to family and friends and are pleased that 4 friends have also joined. Now we will have to try and plan a joint vacation together as a group. We have new friends we have met while traveling, and enjoy the luxury of being able to go to different resorts in specific areas to determine which resort we like the best. So far each resort has been clean, the people are all friendly and welcome you as family. I love the fact that some resorts offer the option to purchase their all-inclusive package. We have taken advantage of this option twice and have been very pleased. Our next vacation is already planned - we are returning next month to Puerto Vallarta, for the third time this year. Love it!

    I want to mention that some resorts offer presentations to guests, hoping that you will purchase "time" at their resort/location. They will offer you incentives to purchase. No resort can match the value and large selection of different resorts/locations that Global can offer. We are planning our next vacation in January. We are considering having a second Global Vacation presentation in our home for a group of friends who are interested. We want them to hear and see why we love our vacation club so much.

    My wife and I have been with Global since 2010. The reason for going with the vacation package, was to spend a month in Florida in February. They said "No problem that can be done..." Everything went well for the first 2 years, then they said they could not put us in a condo for one month, and would have to do it in 2 week segments. Driving from PA to Florida, I did not want to make several trips to accomplish my vacation... this brings us to the present day. I sent a request in on March 10, 2016 for a vacation date of February 2017... According to the original contract your request are handled on a first come basis. I have at present received 2 locations. One was for Kissimmee, Florida and the other was for Ruskin which is in the middle of nowhere. I stayed there in 2015 and did not want to go back.

    In other words if you don't take what they offer, you may not be going anywhere, even though you have spent a considerable amount of cash. I personally think they have a tier system and if you want to go on vacation, you better pay for their promotions... I ask them to refund my money, but to no avail... I am currently considering hiring an attorney to sue Global Vacations, and also reporting them to the BBB. Thanks for reading.

    We've been hearing ominous things on TV from Ohio about people who are very displeased with the way Global Vacation handled getting people in to listen to the spiel. They feel like they've been taken and some of the prizes that were promised weren't up to what they should be. But we have used it and we've been pleased with what we've had. The resort we went to in Pennsylvania was a little outdated and could have some renovations and better upkeep, and the one we went to in Myrtle beach recently was a big resort. It was okay, but it was the off season so it wasn't too bad. But the resort in Tennessee before, The White Oak, was really nice. It was newer and we really liked that one, and as far as experience, it's been okay.

    We've had three parties just from bragging about Global Vacation Network and we probably made them 18,000 here in this rec room. Everyone we had here for about each time bought double. Everything's been great. We've been to Aruba three times and we had to get it a year ahead. Then my son had used it to go to Cabo. We've had no problems with the people and the places that we stayed.     We've attended one of Global Vacation Network's presentations and it was pleasant - not too long and not too boring. Then we've signed up in person for a membership with them. We've taken a couple of vacations through them. As far as the vacations, a hell of vacation is always nice to get away. One of the things that we've had problems with is booking the right time of the year to get to places that we want. It seems like we always had to settle for the second or third choice. They never had our first choice or it was already booked. One of the places we've stayed at in Florida was less than what our experiences had been, it was still all right, but it wasn't what we were expecting, but other than that, for the most part, everything has been fine.

    We went to South Carolina and we went first to their office down there to check in and get our key. We eventually got to the condo that we were staying in. There were some minor problems and we stop back, head to the office instead of calling them or whatever and talked to them. They were very pleasant, approachable and did what they could to try to take care of the problem in a timely manner. We're happy with them. It was a very pleasant experience and overall, the cheapest way to go.

    I had had a contract with Paradise and they told me I had a certain amount to use it. When I went to schedule it, they had cut it off before the time. Global called and said that they had to pick up for this company, and then I paid a bit more money hoping to use it all up and get my cruise - eight days, seven nights. Global thought that my program is only for a few years, but my program is for life which lasts forever. So I told the one person, “If this is the way it’s going to be, then I lost more money, and stop calling me.” Then they realized what they’ve done after they looked at it and they don’t call anymore.

    I would’ve had a good experience if people would quit calling me to use my plan because my husband is still sick and I can’t use it. People who aren’t from Global Vacation, steals from Global, calls and harasses me. That’s why I’m getting ruder when I answer the phone and someone says how I’m going to owe thousands of dollars. But if the people calling are from Global, I'd talk to them. We have not been on a vacation yet, but when my husband gets better, I will come down, fulfill the first part of it, then take the cruise and we will be done.

    We had a wonderful vacation, there is no doubt about it, and we couldn't have done with it without Global. We haven't used it in a couple of years, but we went to Hawaii on our first trip and it was wonderful. We are both retired and it is pretty tough out there. Put it this way: Living within our means has been a challenge. So putting any more into a vacation program is really not where we can be right now. We're glad we were able to sign up for this. I would definitely recommend them, and I have. But like I travel in the same circle as my age group and we're all out here trying to figure out how we're going to make things stretch.     Everything is great with Global. We had a great time in Sedona. The room was nice. Everything, including the scenery, was great. We were very pleased with our accommodations. We have placed it for two weeks and we had to fight to get that like a year in advance. We hope to do the same thing again for next year but it took us a long time to be able to get those two weeks.

    Global Vacation Network has been very good for me. I had a very good experience to all places I’ve been to. The only one that was probably less than 100% was the one in Fort Lauderdale because the property was being renovated and it made it a little difficult to get around. And I have to say Hawaii was my favorite vacation. It was wonderful because we had a chance to explore a lot of other places. I’ll be leaving in two weeks for a vacation in the Cayman Islands using one of my weeks.

    As I remember, joining GVN is easy. Their folks are available to explain things if I have questions about the way my benefits and stars and weeks work. I’ve been very satisfied. I hope that the yearly membership dues does not continue to go up. It’s like the rate that it has been but I don’t have any control over that so I am a little bit concerned.

Facilities have always been good. We've never had any complaints about any of the places except for our most recent trip in Nashville at the Wyndham. The room's TV had a problem and the ice maker didn't work but those are minor issues. Then we wanted to go to Tennessee but their website doesn't have everything they have. So we called and the girl said she would look in to see what she could set up for us. She did and I felt like she went above and beyond. Global Vacation is worth your dollar.

    We're very satisfied with Global Vacation Network. I'm not good at doing things online so I got to call for help and they're always willing to help. However every once in a while it's been hard to get a hold of someone. Maybe all the agents are busy. There's a lot of numbers they have for different things and you just got to be a little patient getting a hold of them.

    The very first vacation I had with Global Vacation Network was a little rocky and it left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. But overall, I'm okay. I've had a little get together at my house and invited a couple of friends and both of them joined. I wouldn't do that if I wasn't happy with the company. The guy that came out and did our party was very good and knowledgeable. When we went on our last vacation at Daytona Beach, I stayed at Sea Shells and they had representatives there that treated us top-notch. I was very pleased.

    Our experience with Global Vacation Network has been good. We went to a few condos that have not been satisfactory but most of them were okay. When we went to get Lindbergh, that really spoiled us, it was beautiful. They had it set up so nice. I would recommend them but there have been a few things that haven’t been good. Sometimes they say there is complete kitchen but it's not and there are only a few pots and pans. Also, the Hydra Bed in the condo in Ohio was absolutely horrible.

    We first heard about Global Vacation Network through a seminar and it was very informative. Signing up wasn’t difficult at all. So far we had a good experience with them because we are regular member. If we stayed in Gaston it would not be so entertaining. Most of our stay have been very good but the last one we had this year was ugly. Victorian in Galveston condo that we stayed in was filthy and the whole building was already rundown. The staff there told my wife, “This is no hotel” and that pissed me off. We’ve been with Global now for 9 years and that was the first time that we’ve ever been dissatisfied. We haven’t spoken to their representatives yet but I know it wasn’t their fault. It was the location. Global did what they had to do. So, as far as I’m concerned, Global has been excellent.

    We've had a lot of good experiences every time we went with Global Vacation Network. We've been to Myrtle Beach, Tennessee; Sedona, Arizona three times; and we've been to Florida three or four times. In every place that we've went with them, they were all up to my expectations. I haven't used it a lot in the last few years but prior to that we used it a lot. I liked the part that if I don't use it, I don't have to pay the dues and keep the term until I use it. What I didn't like was the 120 days that one has to call prior to getting a vacation spot. We didn't have to do that before and we wanted to go to Myrtle Beach. But since we upgraded to the next level, we won't have to worry about that anymore.

    Most of our experiences with Global Vacation Network has been very good but the last one we had this year was ugly and not entertaining. It wasn't Global but the Victorian in Galveston. It was the building rundown and our condo was filthy. The staff there told my wife, "This is no hotel" and that pissed me off. We've been with Global for 8 years, and that was the first time we've ever been dissatisfied. But I would still say their the best. As far as I'm concerned, they have been excellent.

    We have been members of Global Vacations for one year and have attempted four vacations. So far only one has worked out but only after about two months of going back and forth negotiations. Every time we choose a vacation destination, they either don't have any connections in that area or they cannot accommodate us on the dates we want to go. When we signed up, we were told they had condos all over the world. We have not asked to go to any remote place. Actually all of them have been to major vacation destinations and yet they can never seem to accommodate us.

    There's only been a couple vacations we've taken with Global that I've been very pleased with - there are some that I will and will not go back to. They show a beautiful picture on their website and when you get there, it's not what you saw. One time they supposedly put me up in a high class one but then we get the retro, the 60s. I took a relative on one and I was so disappointed. We just came back from the Poconos and I was not pleased at all. We're going to be back up there in March as well. Unfortunately they said we would be off-site, in these probably renovated condos. We are leaving for another vacation with them next Friday and I hope it's going to be a good one.

    We went to our first Global Vacation Network presentation about 15 years ago. We absolutely loved our old program but we ended up changing it recently. We got a call from them saying they had new programs and they told us that they’d like us to come in so they could explain the programs to us. So we ended up changing programs, and so far we are having a very good experience with it. For instance we normally go to the St. Pete area, and one of the places that they have units contracted for right now is Madeira Bay which is a condo hotel. So the company provides us with a lot of privately owned units and we never had an awful one.

    Recently we were checking on multiple units that were available and the comments were the same for both units, which was weird. We finally decided that other users were commenting on the resort rather than on individual units like they should, and some of them have had good experiences and some hadn't. One of them complained about a microwave that wasn’t working and management is off-site which they weren’t happy with.

    In our experience, management is normally off-site. We’ve had some units, like Madeira Bay being a hotel, that have a front desk that’s manned 24 hours a day so there’s always someone there. We’ve also stayed at Holidays R Us a lot of years where they have a front desk but it’s not manned 24 hours a day. A lot of the beach cottages have no one there too so if you run into a problem, you have to contact whoever the rental person was you were dealing with. Despite that, we’ve had really good luck. And Global Vacation Network normally is able to find what we want, like if we need a 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom, they come up with it one way or another.

    Our agent, Nancy, had worked with us from the beginning and filled out four forms for me back when I didn’t know that we needed to fill up four forms if we wanted four weeks. We absolutely loved her. When I send stuff in, I always sent them to her attention so it’d directly go to her. But she retired on us last year so we had other reps, and they got us moved around. Whoever this new supervisor was in that office was a very black and white person, gave us a lot of garbage, and you need to have your forms in 60 days ahead of time. The first week wasn’t within that 60 day period so we didn’t get in.

    This year we’re back on track and we have a new agent that we worked with who’s going to be as knowledgeable and helpful as Nancy was, so we’ve made out very well and we liked what we’ve seen with the new program. Right now we’re working on five weeks in October-November, and we’ve only used up 2 of our 8 weeks, so we're doing okay and we'd recommend Global Vacation Network.

    After their presentation in the Indianapolis area, I ended up signing up with Global Vacation Network. Initially, I made a lot of phone calls to resolve an issue but that was in the first year and we finally got that straightened out, though it took a lot of phone calls on my part and I had to keep asking to talk to somebody at a higher and higher level. But everybody I've ever spoken to has been quite pleasant to talk to.

    The quality of our trips have always been very good and we've always enjoyed the places that we've seen. Some were in better shape than others but the properties have been fine. However, when we first joined in 2006, there were a lot of properties in Europe that were available. But now in this past year, almost every time I look I do not find hardly any properties available. Global used to have a property in Paris at the Royal Regency and they have not contracted with that property, which has been really disappointing because we’ve used that every year; sometimes twice a year.

    I had a friend sell me one of her week's vacation through Global. I requested a week at Ocean City MD, beach block. Though it took a month or so we got a nice condo at beach block within a short walk to the beach. The place was nice. Not overly fancy, could have used a little TLC, but I understand that good maintenance help is hard to come by there. It was during peak vacation season and we were given the choice of three units. We could view pics of each and made our choice. We had a wonderful time and did it again the following year and it also went flawlessly. I am now looking to purchase my own membership. As long as you are just looking to have a decent place to stay and a great location, it worked out very well for us.

Like anything, presentations always nice and the selling aspect is typical selling. You go from one person to another and finally settle on somebody. So it was initially acceptable.     We are dissatisfied 'cause we can't find places that we wanna go. I've been trying to get some place like St. Martins for February and still waiting to hear back. I guess they don't have a lot of inventory right now. We've been members for a long time but I haven't used them for a while because we haven't been happy since we can never get what we want. We enjoyed going to St. Martin and that's why were trying to go back. And 'cause that's about the only place where we've been so far.

    We were at a Global presentation when we signed up and we actually wanted to cancel the next day because we felt that we were misinformed. Unfortunately we already paid for the lifetime membership package so we just went ahead with it. The people that presented were misrepresenting and there's high pressure during the event. We had to make a commitment that day and I don't think people like doing that. If only they'll give people a chance to think about it and will not have to feel pressured into buying something. I think there's improvement that could be made. I wouldn't recommend them.

    I got a flyer in the mail for some airline ticket vouchers. It was funny because just a couple weeks prior to that one of my peers at my work had gotten the same flyer and he was telling me all about it. Well lo and behold a few weeks later one shows up at my house. So I brought it to him and I said "Hey, is this what you got?" He goes "Yeah, that's exactly what I got." I said "Did you have anything to do with it?" He said no. So I went, and had it not been for his experience, I would have never signed up. But because he had such a positive experience with it, I was all on it. Now looking back it was probably one of the best financial decisions I made for myself ever.

    Since signing up with GVN, I've hosted two parties at my home and have recommended them to so many friends. It's unbelievable. When I first signed up I thought if something goes wrong the worst thing that could happen is I just lost $2,600 and I suppose I've spent $2,600 on stupider things than this. But my experience is quite the opposite, every trip that I’ve been on has been more than a blessing. Once I was out in Colorado and had a small issue with one of the condos. I wasn't upset. It was minor things - dings on the wall from luggage, the carpet was burnt because somebody dropped an iron, a little bit of water damage but it wasn't wet water damage. I called and not only did they take care of me but they gave me a voucher. They were apologetic. They handled it very professionally and very quick to call back if I've ever called.

    Now GVN has a star program where you can buy up to eight stars. I started out with the two star but back in February I bought two more because two wasn’t gonna be enough and I don’t even think four’s gonna be enough.

    So far, the quality of the 2 trips we've had were very reasonable but both the condos we stayed in weren't the best. They were fine, but the last one we stayed at the carpet was horrible (I think they're owned by people who were renting theirs out and I don’t know if Global just signed up for a bunch of those people trying to get business in). The locations were great and I would go to the same locations again but I wouldn't go back to the same one we stayed at.

    Everybody that has contacted us or we've talked to from GVN have been very helpful and we’ll use them again. Although we’re kind of out of the travelling mode as far as flying somewhere and staying. That’s why both places we went to were only four hours away from home, which really worked for us, so we were glad to do that and we may do that again if we can find a similar deal.

    We've had Global Vacation Network since 2002. I don't remember if we just got an invitation to go and review the program but that's when it started. We attended a presentation and I told my husband we're not gonna buy anything before we walked in, and he laughed at me when I walked out because we did buy. I said that wasn't a bad deal. We've been using it since, and have three weeks left.

    Our trips have been very good. The places especially in Hawaii which we just returned from were absolutely excellent. The one before that was at the Majestic Sun in Miramar Beach, Florida. Now when we did get in that unit, we had to wait because they were scrubbing the floors. The floors were very wet when we went in but we figured they were gonna dry, which was fine. There were a few other things like a towel bar that was broken and the blanket wasn't clean. I talked to the person that I worked through and she apologized and told me to call them directly right away the next time there's an issue.

    There was also an instance before that, when we spent two weeks in Kissimmee, FL. We got to our unit later in the evening but it hadn't been fixed up. So I called the emergency line and they responded immediately. They had a place where we had to go up the steps but then they asked if we could go back down because there were two flights. But it was a very nice place and we liked it up there so that's where we stayed. Most of our experiences have been very good and the places have been very nice. All the people we've dealt with at Global Vacation Network have all been very nice and helpful. Some are more pleasant than others because they talk slower or are very explicit. My brain thinks slower as I get older. Then again, our experiences have been very good.

    We’ve used Global Vacation Network three times and we’re satisfied. When booking online, the vacation weeks are not available but when I call, miraculously, something is available. The places we've stayed in have been clean and well-equipped as advertised although there was one time last year when we went to Destin, Florida and the place we've stayed had bed bugs. We got it sprayed and cleaned and we didn't even have to move, which was good. Somebody who we talked to during that time said, "Oh, we'll be offering you some more stars" as a way to compensate but I haven't heard anything about it and it's been ten months. But the experience, for the most part, has been extremely good for us.

    We have been working with GVN travel agents, and we loved them. They've been very helpful, friendly, timely with what they can do for us. They've been wonderful. The quality of our trips has been great. We just came back from a week in Florida. We've been to Arizona and Florida mostly. We've enjoyed the resorts that we've stayed in. They’re very nice and the units are clean, they're decorated. They have all the amenities. I love the washer and dryer in the unit and that’s really a plus. The views, if you're in Florida, you're usually on or near the water, one side or the other side of the state. In Arizona, we've stayed in Sedona and that was just absolutely fabulous: the views and the hiking. And the unit was absolutely beautiful. We were in Virginia as well and that was a lot of fun.

    This last one that we were at in Treasure Island, Florida, they are individually owned condos and there’s a service that manages them. And I spoke with the housekeeper, it was just a few housekeeping issues that I think needed attention. The unit itself was fine, the bedrooms, bathrooms were clean. The kitchen needed a little work as far as like the coffee pot wasn't clean. The grounds were still in it, there was a dirty pan in the oven. The oven was clean, other than the dirty pan being there. So it wasn't horrible. We enjoyed the unit as far as the area and the place was fun.

    Also, my experience in getting signed up for a vacation and making a reservation through Global Vacation Network are not bad. They usually get back to me properly. I'll either email or call to let them know what I want to do and they're supposed to get back to me in two or three days, and they usually have. They have a travel agent as part of their services and I didn't think much of that part of the service. They were very helpful. We did recommend Global Vacation Network to friends and one of them did sign up. He's going to be experiencing his first vacation this year too.

    We haven't used Global Vacation Network a lot but the experience that we have had has been positive. We came to their office, saw a film, talked to some people, decided to try it, and signed up. Everybody's been pleasant. We liked our trip at Hawaii a lot. We thought we were going to be a lot closer to Traverse City but we weren't even in Traverse City. We were in one of the outlying areas, so it was a little bit of a ride to go to Traverse every day but it was okay.

    Overall, Global Vacation Network seems to be a pretty good outfit. I like it better than where you have to go to the same place every year. With them you get to switch up. We don't have anything planned with them right now because my wife's getting ready to retire but after that, we'll see what happens.

    We received a teaser check ($1,800) from this company and the promise of free airfare for two to our port of departure for our free cruise. All we had to pay was somewhere between $80 and $300 PP for fees. We would be required to attend a 90 minute pitch for their vacation club. However, you and you spouse had to be no older than 72. So, being 74 I was disqualified. I guess they figure I wouldn't live long enough to justify the fee for buying into their club. What a bunch of discriminatory garbage. They said I would "qualify" for their senior offers - I politely told them to take a hike.

    We heard about Global Vacation Network through a Grand Rapids branch office. We went in for a meeting with them to take a look at what they have. It was approximately fourteen years ago and it seemed to have went really well. We were very impressed with it. We've gone to Hawaii six times with them and were very impressed with the facilities. It's also been a couple of years going at the New Log Cabin, which we are just well beyond pleased with those facilities as well.     Our trips with Global Vacation Network have been good except it seems like they've got less places that we wanted to go now. It's harder to get a place that we're interested in going so we haven't used them lately. It's not a bad experience overall, though, since we've been with them for a long time and we've actually upgraded three times. This last upgrade was my least happiest upgrade, but I did it anyway. This last time, I thought I was getting more than I was getting for the upgrade. I do have upcoming vacations planned, but not necessarily through them. But we're going to be looking at them to use them for a family vacation. Their people have all been very friendly and and professional, especially the ones that work in Kansas City. I guess that's where their headquarters is located. I've had an interesting experience with them.

We asked specifically if they had access to anything in Jackson Hole, and the guy got on his little laptop and he then he goes, "Oh yes, we have three or four Jackson Hole." Well it came to pass that they had nothing, and that was the one place that we wanted to go because it's close to our son. I complained but it didn't get me anywhere. It's hard to get what you want. The last two, I did a year in advance and didn't exactly get what I asked for. Wanted a two bedroom. I had to take a three bedroom and it took a year in advance. It's probably five months before they got me anything. They seem to be signing up more people than they can book. But since then, when I'm trying to book something everyone's been helpful and courteous. Also, the condos that we've gotten have been really good and nice - can't complain about that.

    We've only used Global Vacation Network a few times when our kids were younger -- we just haven't had much time to use it and we're also not really good planners. They also don't have a lot of destinations in our area, so that's a downfall. We would have used it more if there was some closer to the Midwest area as the airfare can get expensive with four people travelling. But the ones we did use, they were beautiful. We went to Florida with it, and then my daughter used it in California. We had one where we used it for a summer trip up north - it was great and worth the money. Beautiful places, just above and beyond. They’re really nice and they're worth the money and the savings. Now that our kids are grown, we want to try and use it again.

    Global Vacation Network gave informative presentations, and since signing up with them I think I've used it two or maybe three times, and all of them have been good. It's only recently that it has not been good; their sales department frustrated me personally. My wife died in 1994 and I signed up with them sometime 2002; they made me put someone else on the contract and so I put my daughter on there. My daughter is in the contract with me and I didn't realize my daughter had to be there for Global to talk to me. It really has been a hassle. I've wanted to go and find out more about how to use my plan, because I've been pretty inactive. I think they want to get me back on board and start collecting the annual dues but the way they're treating me, they're not making that possible for me want to come back.

    We have some places that we like to go back to that we've been very happy with. We've had a couple places that were not very nice. The one thing with Global is I think it's more of a low-cost vacation alternative, so you're not going to get five-star resorts. If you go in there knowing that and keeping your expectations at that level, you won't be disappointed. But if you're looking for something that's amazing, you're not gonna find that.

    We just got back from a trip in Costa Rica two nights ago. That was a week-long trip. And we're going down to one of our favorite places that we go to with Global in Destin, Florida. That's in May. And then we're going to be doing a Mediterranean cruise in September. And we'll be going to Sedona in November. In all these, they've been very good generally. Usually the communication that we have with Global is once we submit online a request, we'll get a call back and that's when we talk to people and they've been very good and respond in a timely manner. Sometimes it'd be nicer to be able to talk to somebody who is more familiar with some of the areas though - kind of more like a travel agent, but I don't think that's the way Global's set up. But I'd like to be able to ask for recommendations in an area I'm not familiar with and I don't think they really have that capability. On the whole though it's a very good vacation for the value.

    We went to one of Global Vacation Network’s seminar a few years ago, and it was well presented enough to make us make a choice to join. We've used the express ways more often than anything else, and all of our experiences have been good and we've been happy with all of the places we've stayed at. Some of them have been a little bit better than others, but most of the accommodations have been what we expected. However, I was a little bit disappointed that they wanted to charge us $5,000 to join their new upgraded program, which would allow access to many more destinations. I think that this would be an option we would have for what we had already paid, so we chose not to do that and just keep the original, which doesn’t allow us access to all the various locations had we upgraded for another program, whatever the cost was.

    We attended a presentation at a Global Network place and won a vacation to many different places to choose from. I am excited about it and can't wait. Now here is where the dilemma accrues. They offer a water park vacation in Sandusky OH. I don't need to be guaranteed a certain place but would like to have an idea of places they use. Because there are a lot of super nice places there but there are also a few I wouldn't want to drive by much less stay at. I have called every number emailed every place and person I can but everybody has the same answer. "Oh we don't know which hotels they use there." Somebody knows or knows somebody who does. There are a lot of good choices but would prefer to be able to take my 9 year old son with us but also don't want to waste this gift. If anyone has any info me I would greatly appreciate it.

    We’ve had some absolutely wonderful, beautiful, fantastic vacations with Global Vacation Network and have had a few that were not as good. The people at Global have been absolutely wonderful. Most of the time the places we've been to were decent places though we had one place that the bathroom door didn’t close completely, because it had just been repainted. I need 2 studios to accommodate my family. The dates, the locations available is just not what was sold to me when I signed up. So frustrating and the travel agents have bad attitudes. I'm so disgusted that I decided to sign up with this company. Don't be fooled like me, you'll do better to plan your own trip dealing directly with the company, not Global NON-Connect.

They had some pretty good offers while we went and met with them, and we decided since we're planning on taking vacations every year, we would want to go with something like that.     When we can get away and there’s some nice condo that we go to, it’s a very nice experience -- The first vacation we took was very nice. The only problem is that there's really not a lot of places we can stay at at certain areas, such as down at Orange Beach there's one and we do not really care for it. At some places we want to go to, there's no place that GVN has for us to stay at. So it's disappointing especially when you put that kind of money out.

    We attended a Global Vacation Network presentation and that’s how we ended up signing up. The presentation was very informative and upfront. We’ve used it every year since we had it and have been very satisfied with the places that we’ve stayed in - it was a good thing for us to do that. It’s always been positive except one time when I called to make a reservation and the girl argued with me because she said that we couldn’t get the week that we wanted because it was going into the next year. I knew that we can because the same thing happened the year before. Finally, I told her, “You need to go and talk to the supervisor because I know this is okay.” She did and it was all fine. We may have had to adjust a little bit time-wise as far as what they have for availability but we’ve been able to go where we want to go. We always like to go to Hawaii so we paid extra for where you can sign up 13 months ahead of time of when you want to go. That has worked out well for us because we get in ahead of a lot of the other people. We would recommend them.

    My husband and I bought a package from Global Vacations back in 1997. They were then located in Southfield, Michigan. The very first trip we took was to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was very nice and the condo was excellent. The following year we went to Hawaii in a very substandard hotel like condo. From that point on it has been a living hell. The contract requires that you book 45 days ahead. Well, let me tell you, you can book 9 months - 1 year ahead and they claim to have nothing available. None of the places listed in the brochure are ever available. When you are able to get accommodations it is in a 2-3 star hotel, nothing whatsoever like what you are presented with in the presentation. I still have time left on our package, but had to walk away because they wanted the maintenance fee paid up in full for the 2 years we were unable to use the plan. Why would we continue to pay a maintenance fee and no unit is ever available???? They won't even discuss availability until the fee is paid, then after you paid the fee NOTHING is available. TOTAL SCAM!!!!

    I first heard about Global Vacation Network from a flier in the mail. I went in with the intention of not doing anything to get the free stuff and it turned into applying. I attended a Global Vacation Network presentation and it was great -- a good experience. We tried to book a vacation and they told us there was nothing available so we went through to something else. But we were not happy after paying all this money for this place so we contacted somebody else and got our units that we wanted. Going on a trip was fabulous and we have one scheduled for January. They're a great deal and I've had 3-6 people who bought into it since I did.

    I first heard about Global Vacation Network in one of the presentations a long time ago, and I bought into it that night cause it was such a good thing and I was pleased with it. I really liked it. I’ve had all good experiences, no bad ones. The trips have been all good quality. Fantastic. Interaction with the team was always good, nothing bad.     We went to a Global Vacation Network presentation and we liked it. We've been with them for years. One time, they set us in a condo which was nice. The balcony had 4 ceiling fans, and tiles all over the place. It was an apartment probably around 1,500 to 1,700 square feet. It was huge and I was impressed. They had a full kitchen with granite tops and a nice refrigerator, not cheap like a hotel where you have crushed ice. The place where we're at had 3 huge swimming pools. They had nice shops around and you could rent a boat and jet skis. You even had a place where you can go jetpacking.

    So Global is my favorite. It was the most expensive to join but you get what you paid for. It's pretty reasonable. My wife and I like Global. We'd recommended it to our friends. We had one of our friends join them. They're good and they help us a lot. When I ask for things, they get back with us. They even helped us with passports. It's a really good company.

    My family and I have used Global Discovery for now over four years. They do not disappoint! Every location has provided us with a spectacular vacation without the unnecessary 'junk' that is associated with other vacation/timeshare programs. While Riviera Maya (my favorite) has been used multiple times, Gatlinburg, TN was spectacular. The staff is very accommodating in finding the right resorts at the optimal time. Side note: Plan accordingly & book early as possible! These are prime locations, and they fill up fast. I would just like to thank Global Discovery for an amazing program to which will be used for years to come. Vacation has a new look on life!

    Initially I signed up for a 3-year preliminary and recently I went ahead and changed to be a regular member because the trips that I've been on have been great (I've been on two) and I've been very satisfied with what we had. So I would recommend Global. However, there is a company that Global deals that is is almost impossible to work with and they have us jumping through hoop after hoop after hoop. They make you turn in 3 places where "you can't go here, you need to turn in another one... you can't just go here, you need to turn in another one... " and they give you these deadlines. Finally they said "okay, we'll give you this." So we gave them a date but they changed the date and said, "I'm sorry. It's got to be this way." It was one thing after another after... We ended up not going because we couldn't deal with it any longer. I wish I remember the name of them. If I knew exactly how to report them, I would report them. But brushing that aside, Global has been very very helpful, they've helped us work out a place. And like I said, I just recently changed from a 3 year trial to a full membership and I paid that and they have not been hard to deal with.

    On 11/16/14 my wife and I received the "Bait and Switch" call stating we had been selected to win a guaranteed sweepstakes award. We attended the stated 90-minute presentation and were educated and quite entertained by the podium facilitator. After 4 total hours of being at the presentation center we actually purchased a plan and became members.

    We are current very satisfied owners of a timeshare with Marriott Vacation Club. We were informed that adding GVN to our current Marriott ownership would enhance our vacationing experiences due to the extensive travel network resources GVN has access to. The major selling point to us was we were told that being a GVN club owner would enable us to use the travel agency services to book discounted flights.

    Well lo and behold, this is clearly not the case. In fact, when we tried to use the travel agency service to book a flight from NY to Cancun, Mexico for 4 days in Feb 2015 there were no flights available. However, when I searched using Kayak, or CheapOair or even directly through specific airlines there were many flights available. Interesting isn't it? What happened to the extensive travel network resources?

    Additionally, that guaranteed sweepstakes we were winners of... well it turns out we did the scratch off and actually won a, "Round-trip airfare and hotel accommodation to 3 days/2 nights at our choice of hotel." However, after reading the lengthy legal fine print it turns out that, "The Reservation Request Form will allow you to select travel dates and destinations". BUT... "Travel must depart on a Monday or Tuesday... All travel must be completed within one year from the date of issuance. You must select two travel dates with at least 30 days between each travel date. Flight schedules and hotels are at the discretion of the validation center. All requests are at the discretion of the validation center.”

    And the best part, “This offer is not valid on or within 7 days before or after a major holiday. Major holidays: New Year's Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.” Do the math. That means for 140 days out of 356 within a year this voucher cannot be used!!! 7 days before or after the holiday = 14 days for each of the listed holidays with 28 days for Christmas and New Year's combined.

    So, simply put, if you have a ton of flexibility in your personal schedule and are willing to be at the whim of someone else's decision making of your travel plans then this is for you. Unfortunately, this is not a viable option for my wife and I. We have submitted the written cancellation request as of 11/17/14. Which is within the 3 day window as written on our agreement contract. Now we have our fingers crossed that the cancellation will go smoothly and we wait to receive our full refund since we paid in full when we signed on to become members.

    GVN may well be a product for some people. Unfortunately it is not a product for all people. The moral of this story, read the fine print of all documentation. Ask lots of questions and if there is any conflict between what a salesperson tells you and what you find out for yourself back out! Oh, and if you happen to have the ability to use an American Express credit card to pay for your membership I highly recommend you don't listen when they try to dissuade you from using it. I know that if the cancellation doesn't go smoothly then Amex will quickly remove the charge from the bill with one phone call.

    We love our experience with Global Vacation Network and our vacation plan. We heard about GVN years ago. A guy that worked at a local TV station started doing promotion for the travel club and we went out to one of the presentations, loved it and have been in it ever since. We plan on maintaining and staying in it for the rest of our lives. I retired so we haven't used it in maybe a year but we plan on being more active in GVN again shortly.

    Our experience with the GVN team has been perfect too. We were in Florida and I was having a hard time trying to rent a car. We got a much better rate through Global travel than we did right there at the rental car place. It worked out perfectly for us. Also we got information about where to go for cruises in Fort Lauderdale, cause we were down there a few years ago and Global travel helped us.

    I also told my mother-in-law about GVN. She got timeshare in St. Martins. When she initially bought her timeshare, she was paying $300 for the one week and it was $70 or $80 maintenance a month. By the time it was over, for that one week she was paying over $1,500. I kept telling her about our plan with GVN and when she looked at it, she said, “This is crazy. You guys told me so I’m now switching over.” So my mother-in-law is also a part of our travel club as well.

    We signed up to become a member with Global Vacation Network. I haven't used it in a while but when I did, my experience was good. All of our interactions with the Global team has been positive. Overall quality of the trip has always been well. However, I would not recommend Global Vacation to my friends but it's not because of any experience I've had with the people I've talked to. It would be because there are no vacation places to stay where I want to go. I've called them sometimes to find out if there are places where I want to go but they don't seem to have places available. We have always stayed in and we like to go up to New England and there are absolutely no places in Maine for us to say. Signing up to become a member was good but I don't think that Global Vacation has 5-star accommodations, maybe 3-star accommodations.

    I received a call from Global vacation about 2 weeks ago. The man said I won a 5-day 4-night cruise with airfare for 2 and 2 nights hotel accommodations. I asked the man if I had to pay anything for this prize. His reply was "No, you won a prize. There is no cost to you." I then asked if I had to pay any fees or deposits or anything else for this prize. Again I was told "No it is free. You do not have to pay for anything." I questioned him a third time and got the same reply. The man said "Your time is worth money and we are compensating you for your time." I said, "OK I will go to your presentation." I was told I would get another call from them to give me an appointment time and date. At this time I asked him again if my prize was going to cost me anything. This time he chuckled and said "No you don't have to pay for anything."

    He gave me a confirmation and prize number and an appointment, 11-04-14 at 7:45 P.M. and that he would contact me the day of the appointment to confirm that I was attending. I again asked if there was any cost for this cruise. Again I got the same answer. He also said it would only take 90 minutes of my time. The day of my appointment he called to confirm my attendance and again assured me I would pay nothing for this prize. When my wife and I arrived at the office to register I again asked the same question and given the same answer, "No Cost to you." I wish I would have done some research first, but that's another story.

    My wife and I attended the presentation and I must say we thought it was a great deal. The presenter was very polite and professional and seemed to enjoy his job. We liked him. After the presentation we were escorted by another gentleman to another room where the sales pitch was presented to us. Again the guy was professional and friendly. Though we were not pushed into buying we were told this was a one time offer at this discounted price. My wife and I discussed it and decided the timing was off because we were paying off our wedding from 2 weeks earlier. If the timing had been different we would have jumped on the offer. We said maybe next year after we paid our wedding off. The salesman was very understanding but said we probably wouldn't have the same offer. He said wait here until he got our prize certificate and we could leave, which he did and we left.

    On the way home my wife and I discussed the bad timing of this offer. We really wanted to go for it. So I get home and as I am checking the prize certificate I see a web site to get the details. You guessed it. We have to pay reservation fees and taxes and other government fees. It was just ridiculous. The funny part is I asked the guy on the phone if I could record him reiterating the zero cost to me. He didn't mind so I did. I intend to wait 2 days for an answer to this from Global Vacations then I will contact an attorney. If you get a call from them, I recommend you hang up immediately.

    During Sales Presentation we were told many untruthful statements. Purchased this vacation club last year in the summer. My Representative was Andrea, and Mike was the travel director. I am in contract for over 5k for this membership. It's been over a year and I still can't use it. We were promised that we would have abundance of locations and neighboring condos to stay at. They showed us maps of different places to go with different colors showing us condo's they owned as well as their condos who they have contracts with as the neighboring units that would be own to us. Three times within this year, and the most recent being 10-27-14, I was trying to go to Miami.

    I get the runaround. “We are all booked till April. You should really book a year in advance like our regular members". I told the lady - Danny, “The reason why I joined with this company was because you guys assured us we could book within months and even weeks before a trip.” The lady hanged up on me. They absolutely tell you that it's subject to availability, but at the same time they show you hundreds of locations all over the states. You look at their map of places and are assured you will have somewhere to stay. But, now being a member and trying to reserve a place it's a complete lie.

    So, since this last failed attempt I decide to Google this company... at the presentation we were told they were approved by the BBB as they showed us their slideshow. Also they said this was the number one company with no complaints in its history... All lies. Then we were promised the free trip with airfare to HI for going to the presentation and then another trip without airfare to Mexico that need to be used/booked within a year. Well, I sent in the form they gave me and then when I inquired about it... Nothing.

    For our situation and income and all, I think Global has been the best fit that we've found so far. We've only used Global twice, one for Hawaii and the other in Gatlinburg and we've been very happy.

    The Gatlinburg trip was very nice. We stayed in one of the log cabins. It was in the off-season, in October, so the pool wasn’t open. But we all liked the cabin. I wished the setting would have been more up on a mountain, like how Bluegreens was. We took a tour through Bluegreens there and that was really classy.

    When we went to Hawaii we stayed in Maui. We stayed right across from the beach. That was a really nice place. It had fancy garden, landscaping and grass. In Oahu, we basically stayed in a 38-storey building on Royal Kuhio Drive there. It was kinda like being on vacation in New York City. It wasn’t a bad place but it was a few blocks away from the beach or where all the big end resorts are. But a healthy person could walk down there in 3 to 4 minutes. I'm in a wheelchair so it took me a little while. But it was really right along bus routes. I took the bus to different places. It was well located, like staying in a skyscraper.

    But being in Waikiki, the whole place is like being in New York City. It’s just the way the whole area is. We liked the place. It was an older building, but it was very nice. The only thing about both those places at Hawaii, they kind of advertised heated pools, and the pools were not warm at all. That was the only disappointing thing because being handicapped, I really would use a pool more than being able to go in the ocean. So, that was really the only thing that was disappointing. The interactions I had with the Global team were all positive. They gave nice presentations. Overall, I really like Global Vacation Network.

    I was invited by Global Vacation Network to a presentation over eight or nine years ago. It was a pretty good experience. I owned a time share and still own it. I went to the presentation because I was looking for something for my kids, so that they would be able to have something that they could use when they got older. And it was a price that was well worth it. We've been hosting presentation parties here at my home since about April, and have had a guy that's been coming out from Global connections and we've been sharing information that we learned. Out of the eight parties we've had, we had about 16 people that have signed up.

    We've also had a couple of vacation, most of which are for my kids. My daughter and her friend went up to Wisconsin Dells for one weekend. They were able to get an Express Week that they used to go up. They were able to have a 3 nights, 4 days stay for $59 in a resort, at the Peppertree. Couple years ago, we went up to Wisconsin Dells and stayed at Christmas Mountain for the $159 which was a good experience. If you like to vacation and plan your vacation out, Global Vacation Network is a very inexpensive way of doing it.     I first heard about Global Vacation Network when I got a postcard in the mail. It said “if you are interested in a presentation, come to this certain place and sit down for a presentation”. So my wife and I did, we went and listened to the spiel, sounds like a good idea and we bought a membership right on the spot.

    Experiences have all been positive. We were in Hawaii one time and the place we stayed at wasn’t fully equipped like it was supposed to have been, so Global comped us a free vacation to make up for the difference, for the inconvenience. They’re a two bedroom condo. We didn’t have an ironing board, an iron, and the things that you’d expect in a condo. So they told us “go out and buy whatever you want, whatever you need, and then send us the receipts and we’ll reimburse you”. Which they did, and when we got back to the states, I sent the receipts in and they cut a check right away.

    We’ve been so satisfied with the plan, we hosted parties at our house before and had a Global representative come to our house and give a presentation. And friends of ours have signed up and bought into the plan as well. I’d recommend Global Vacation Network.

We moved into a new townhouse and Global was already calling the other people whose telephone number they had even before we got there.     After my last experience with them, I haven't traveled with them since. We were planning to travel up north to swim and boat and all. And the unit we had, they forgot to leave whatever they were supposed to leave, or they deliberately didn't leave it so we would have access to the beach and other water facility. So to me, it was a wasted week. And we went to various places, tried to get in. Then we finally got hold of the caretaker for the unit of the owner. And by then, we just didn't care. We had things planned. So I didn't even bother calling Global and I didn't bother using them again. I'm just waiting to see how they are with my next booking, which will probably be this winter.

    We only used Global once when we went to Las Vegas and that trip was good. We tried to use their Travel Agency there, but it was so much more expensive than if we just went on the internet and got it ourselves. That didn't make any sense to me.     My experience with Global hasn't been good. Here's the deal. We used Global once and we had a wonderful experience the first time we used it. We went to the resort in Little Harbor in Ruskin, Florida, and the accommodations were lovely. Everything worked out fine. Since then, I've tried a couple of times to book and of course I want Florida in February so that's always an issue. I tried a couple of times and nobody could offer me anything. "How about the Bahamas?" I said, "No. I don't want to go out of the country." So now I'm retired and I would like to use Global Vacation. My problem is there is non-availability in Florida during the winter months. That's my complaint.

    Apparently right now they're working on getting some more condos and weeks so that I could get something, so I'm patiently waiting for them but I'm frustrated because I know, and I don't even have to be in one spot, I gave them 5 different locations that I could go to based on what's available at the website right now. So I'm waiting to hear from somebody via the customer relations guy that I talked to in Michigan and so far I haven't heard from him or anyone else. I hope they contact me soon because otherwise it's turning into a steam for us because we can never get the availability we want. The one time we used it, we loved it so much that now that I'm retired we went and bought a third star. I'm mad with them and I'd like somebody to know what's going on. They need to work harder on getting more availability in Florida during the winter months.

    We've been members of Global Vacation Network for a long time, about 9 years. We went to one of the meetings and signed up in person. We usually get really good condos. There’s been one time when it wasn't the greatest but overall we've had good success with the condos. And it’s been easy to upgrade for our kids, so we’ve enjoyed it. The one condo that I wasn’t too impressed with was just kind of grungy. But other than that they were all good.

    The Global Vacation Network team has been very helpful. If they can't book out something for us, they usually try to find a way that they can and get back with us, and so that’s always good. We did one of the parties once and they were cordial when they came out for the party - the ones where they come to do their spiel. I don't think we've had any real problems.     We went to a Global Vacation Network demonstration in Columbus which is an hour away. We were among a group of 25 to 30 people who were there to hear the presentation. And then we met one on one with the salesperson and decided what we were willing to spend and what that would allow us to do. That's how we got into Global Vacation Network. As a perk of coming to that initial meeting, we got a free weekend in Florida which was a disaster. The hotel that we were to go to, we only stayed there one night. It was so disgusting. It was filthy and dirty and the pool was broken. Ridiculous, it was awful. But that was fine and we've gotten beyond that. So whoever they arranged those freebies with did not do them any service.

    Anyway, all of the other vacations that we've gone on have been very lovely accommodations. Sometimes they haven't been exactly what we've wanted. There was one time we went to Port Charlotte, Florida and that resort was not near a beach which is what we always want but that was kind of our fault. We didn't check it out and make sure. It was in Florida so we assumed that we would be on the water but we weren't. So we had to drive further than we wanted. Now we know to be really careful and research before we set something. We've also been to Hawaii, several places in Florida, Delaware and every resort or condo we've had has been very comfortable. Sometimes luxurious.

    But we have to book so far ahead to get what we want. Sometimes we wanted specific things and when we went online, couldn't find it in the listing. So we either call or sometimes submit a request for them electronically and then we work with an agent to make plans. That's when we find what the options were and that's been very, very positive. We currently have two vacations planned. One in December and one in June and both of those needed help. And the person that I spoke with took all the information and then she gave me as many as ten options for the dates that we wanted and then we talked about them and they wrote it down to the very one that would work the best for us. When we went to Hawaii, we did the same thing with actually talking to an agent after submitting a request form.

    We were also invited to purchase additional weeks. We made our deal for only three stars which means three weeks if they're not in the peak season time frame and we decided that we really wanted to have six eventually and they had an offer that for each week it was far more expensive than we were willing to pay. The negotiation ended with a thousand dollars for just one more week and over time I'm hoping to add two more at a thousand dollars a piece. The person who called and offered that to us was kinda disappointed that we couldn't negotiate for what was in our best interest and the salesperson always says that we take a risk. That might not ever be offered again. So now I'm willing to take the risk because I'm not willing to part with that much money at this point. That was kind of outside of scheduling vacation time. But it worked out just fine, we now have four weeks and it's helpful to us. I would recommend them.

    We went to Maples and we had a good experience with the place that we had there. We're really happy with it. And we took a trip to Grand Cayman and we were happy with the place that we had there. We were less happy at first until we realized how much other people were paying for the same place and suddenly that helped because Grand Cayman is a pretty expensive place to visit. So overall, they're fine for taking a vacation... but don't ever believe them on the free gifts.

    We signed up and were misled regarding the gift that we were supposed to receive that ended up quite a little scam. And when they contacted us recently, when they wanted us to do the in-home presentation for our friends, we did that and I was very disappointed with the gift that we were supposed to receive. And because of being ripped off the first time that we signed up, I was really specific with the person who arranged it on the phone and with the guy that came out to my house to say to say, “Hey look, we did this once before and we got ripped off on the gift. Are you telling me that I’m gonna be okay and this is not gonna happen again?” “Oh no, it won’t happen that way again. We have all these different places and this is our program and we’re not using a third party.” We ended up contacting some people there and said that it was the same old ripoff that they did to me the first time. Then they said they can do this other great thing for me instead. And it was just as bad. And I finally told them to just take it all back, I don't want it and I'll never deal with them again on that aspect of it.

    I signed up with Global Vacation Network in person. I attended a presentation where they described their programs. I like it when they have the people who’s honest to have presentations at their home if they want to, to share that with other people. I really like them having that.

    Overall, my experience with them has been excellent. The last place that I went to was terrible, the facility was horrible, but Global took care of it. They put us somewhere else so that was very, very helpful. I’m not saying it was their fault, it was the hotel’s fault. So I told them to take that resort off their list. They said they had quite a few people calling them about the resort.

    I went to New Orleans, too, and at the time, they didn’t know that the hotel I had was under construction. We didn’t have hot water for almost five days. But Global gave me a credit to make sure everything was okay.

    Out of the blue we got a call or something in the mail about it. We had just gotten married and thought, "hey, why not?" So we went to the presentation and heard what Global was all about.     I pay my $389 a year. By August I'm supposed to get a free week or a hotel room, depending on place and time, if I pay on time which is a nice bonus. My weeks used to be $79 and now they're $89 and that's not too bad. I've gone to Hawaii three different weeks. One week one month, one week another month because you can't have them both in the same month and you can't have them next to each other. They got all these rules but we worked it out that we could go one week in March and then skip a week, and then we could go another week in April, and they helped me through that. I also went to Tuscany, Italy and that was really cool. It was a walled in city, and we didn't even know where we were going. When we got there, it was like a great surprise.

    So the actual vacations are good. I've gone to other places with them. However, I'm not always happy with them because of too many restrictions and rules, and not enough availability...

    Being a customer I was offered to have a presentation in my house and I set it up for June. At the very last minute, they called and said that the guy had some family issues and he couldn't attend. So that was cancelled the morning of the same day he was supposed to come. Then we set it up for July and a couple of days in advance I called up, told them what happened and I said, "From what I understand the guy had some family issues, but he might not even come back." They didn't have a person, so I would have been doing that for the people again the same day. They ended up giving me a free week for each person which we got but I had to call up three, four times to get it. The last time I called, it was I'm calling straight to Global and complaining. They called back to the presentation department and they sent it. Now there's a whole bunch of rules and regulations to even try to get it, so I don't know how that's going to work.

    I’ve gone to some nice places in the United States with them but if you pay your money and you don’t use it, it’s just your own fault, which is my fault. I used to be married. We used to go a lot. But now I’m not married and I moved to Florida so I feel like I’m on vacation all the time when I’m here in Florida. So I don’t feel like I need to go away. It's not my fault that I don't use it as much as I should. I should think of them and use it more, but you have to plan so far in advance... You call up and say, "Oh I want to try to go over here in a couple months." "Oh we need three months' notice." Or, I was one day late. I wanted to go on such and such time. It was to get my free night and I had to let them know 60 or 120 days in advance, and it was like 59 days or 119 days -- it was one day. Nope, too late. Okay, can't do this for one day? I wasn't happy with that, and that was just recently (in May). That's fresh in my mind.

    In addition to that, the stuff that we earned with the group, they won't let us go with the group. We wanted to go some place and it says that this is not meant for a group. But they don't tell you that in advance. They tell you that after you do everything and then get the paperwork. Everybody will have to use their own somewhere or somehow, but I don't think we're going to get to do our group thing.

    Lastly, I don't like it where they say pay this money up front and you can't cancel and you don't get a refund if it doesn't work. So why do you want to pay two hundred or so they're asking for up front when you can't even cancel or get a refund? It doesn't even say you can't cancel in 90 days or 60 days - just you can't cancel...

The condos are okay but not the greatest. They're kind of second rate, but it works out all right.     I never was interested in a timeshare because I don’t like going to the same place each year, ever. But the options Global gives are really good and we've been very happy with them.

    Every other year, we take our whole family with the grandchildren and usually rent two condos -- that’s what we did in Northern Michigan, the one in Maryland was a private home -- and they’ve all been delightful. All of the places have been very clean and well appointed. They've been different in style. We've also used the instant getaway things or whatever they call them, just to kind of get away for a weekend. I think they’ve replaced it somewhat but it’s still a good deal and is great for retirees.

    So if you’re willing to spend a little time to work with Global, it’s an outstanding deal. Our kids are very happy with it. In fact, my daughter-in-law and my wife, a lot of times, they’ll do the planning together for the family ones. We even bought two extra stars. We’re that satisfied with them. Right now we’re actually thinking about looking into their place in Scotland because our daughter is in London for about a one to three-year assignment.

    We've been Global members for about 7 or 8 years. Our experience at their presentation was fine. But over the years, our expectation of what we were presented was and is a lot lower than we were led to believe at their initial signup and presentation.

    First of all, we have an extremely difficult time trying to get anything in Florida. We've tried to book at least 6-8 months out and we told them what our parameters are and they have an extremely difficult time, and it seems like it’s getting worse and worse and worse to try and sign to anything in Florida for us in the winter months. I’m struggling with the benefits of this because we always like to vacation in Florida in the wintertime.

    And then the second to the last time we used them (my wife just came back from the Wisconsin Dells and she said she had a pretty good experience there) we went to Texas at Padre Island. It was just a very bad experience for us where we stayed at Padre Island. The beds were so small that we couldn't even sleep together for a week. It was very old, rundown, the ceiling was peeling off and falling on the ground. Very, very poor accommodations from what they originally presented to us.

    A couple of years ago, it seemed like the service was very good. Now it seems like it’s getting harder and harder. Also, they wanted us to re sign up to get better benefits, and they start it out at $5,000, which I thought was ridiculous. It finally ended up at around $2,000 to get better preferential treatment, which I thought was pretty stinky because we had signed up for the full package and we were promised a lot of stuff...

    My expectations are dwindling and I’m not sure that I would recommend Global Vacations to anybody anymore. It just got to where I’m not feeling the love here anymore with this program.

    When we went to the initial presentation four or five years ago, there was a little pressure when signing up with Global but they made it sound nice and it sort of is. Their representatives are very knowledgeable and very helpful. We've had several vacations with them and most of the facilities are very nice. One was a little questionable, but for the most part, they're nice. One problem that we have is that it's a little hard for us to make a plan 8 or 12 months in advance, and if we want to, it's usually sold out by the time we're ready to decide. But we've enjoyed the vacations and they've all been easy to work with. We've actually scheduled to go down to Florida in Pompano Beach in December.

    I had a number of issues and never even went in to see the presentation. First I was told I had "won" a free trip. Of course I was skeptical to begin with. I had a very difficult time understanding both people I spoke with. It wasn't so much an accent issue as it was choice of wording and the cadence of speech. When I finally understood the company name, I immediately looked it up online to make sure it wasn't scam. I told the person this and that I saw the $13,000 membership fee. She said I should not look online. Red flag number 2. She said that it shows I didn't trust the person I was speaking with (strange). I said that people should be skeptical of people they don't know calling to say you have won a "free trip" from something you filled out months prior.

    I was never rude. I know these people are doing the best they can in a difficult job so I am always polite regardless. They did notice my skepticism and asked several times and I said I wasn't sure what the catch was. They said I could "trust that there was no catch and I could be sure of what they were saying." Again, not really something that can be said and believed immediately. Eventually, I said I appreciated their time and effort but wasn't interested and was hung up on without a goodbye or anything. It was a very unusual encounter and not a pleasant one.

    My husband received a call stating that they received a response form that he filled out at a state fair and wanted him to attend a 90 min session for free airfare and stay voucher. We went, everything sounded great until I was told a high price of $13900 for the membership. The 23 year old sales rep that my husband and I were assigned to was very immature and lacked professionalism. He referred to the condos as "very dope" and even asked what I thought about the other couple that attended the session with us. The 23 year old talked to us like we were his friends bashing about other couples and kept telling us how "dope" everything was and that I should overcharge my friends so that I can make money off of them if I choose to purchase a membership. After spending three hours (not the 90 min as told), I was able to finally get out with my husband along with the restaurant gift cards and the airfare/stay voucher.

    The rep told me that I would be able to redeem the gift cards at restaurants like Olive Garden and Red Lobster but that was complete fraud. After going to the website as indicated on the gift card, it directed me to restaurant.com, which was like a Groupon format of gift to restaurants that I have never ever heard of! So pretty much, I wasted my Friday night with my husband from 7:45p-11p to be given "gift cards" to "restaurants like Olive Garden and Red Lobster" to be directed to a weird website to restaurants that I would never even set foot into. Majority of the restaurants were to Mexican restaurants that I had to pay a minimum of and then a certain amount to be deducted off my bill; therefore, not a gift card at all. Perhaps this membership works for those that travel all the time but when I saw the condos on the website, nothing looked spectacular and it was just a waste of time.

    I'm a thousand percent satisfied with Global Vacation Network. I've never had a bad one yet. The presentation I attended was amazing. I was very satisfied at that time.     We received a card in the mail for a Global Vacation Network presentation where they were offering a television and a grocery coupon. It happened right after Nelson and I retired. The presentation was very good. Young man that did the presentation was a good salesperson. It was quite intimate. There might have been four other couples with us but we enjoyed ourselves and they offered a couple of coupons when we came in, so we decided to purchase the package. We've had wonderful trips. We've been to California twice and Florida twice. All the places we've stayed are just really, really nice.

    The first rep that I talked to, Heather, was a joy to work with. We were trying to maximize our stays by doing our winter trip, and she was able to get our accommodation so we could stay in the same unit for both weeks. It was a very lovely experience and I talked with two other girls. All of them have been very good with us. We just purchased two more stars this past June, and that also was a very good experience. So we're up to six stars and have really enjoyed our experiences. It has been very pleasant. We were skeptical going in to the presentation and were very pleased with everyone. They're very professional and it has turned out to be a great deal for us.

    We've been happy with Global. We had gone to a presentation and the only thing I wasn't happy about it was the insistence by the presenter that you've got to sign up right away. I said, "No, I'm not going to do it. I just don't do things like that." So we went home and talked about it. I looked things up, and it seemed like everything was on the up and up. And I said, "Oh well, so much for that." About a year later, they had another one of those presentations, so we went to that one and jumped on it.

    We had one vacation where we went to the Shells Resort in Daytona. We got there the week before they were going to renovate the condo and it needed it. We had another situation where we went to Myrtle Beach and for whatever reason they placed us in the first building that had a pool in it. Until ten o'clock at night, you could hear the kids screaming downstairs. They were having a good time, but we didn't want to listen to kids screaming. That was the extent of our bad experiences.

    We've been to Vegas four times now. We've been to the Grand Desert Paradise, way off the Strip and we like that. We went to Polo Towers, very nice, a little bit closer to the Strip and then the last couple times we've gone to the Wyndham and actually we're going to be calling again to set up another Vegas trip and one to Panama Beach City. Every time we've called Global, they've been very, very helpful and suggest things. They're efficient, knowledgeable and friendly.

    We got a call to come down to a seminar and went. I was nervous and wondering, "What am I doing here? What am I doing spending all this money? What's gonna happen?" Very, very apprehensive... that's how I started out. But then I enjoyed the presentation. It was intriguing. They did a great job of delivering their product and we bought it.

    Our first eight years with GVN were Outstanding. Outstanding with a capital O. Everything went honky-dory. No problems. Everything was smooth, better than we expected. The facilities were wonderful. Everything was great. The people we've dealt with were great. This year, however, was a bummer year for us, a REAL bummer. It was like pulling teeth without Novocaine to try to get out vacation established.... I've been trying since April. But then last Friday everything fell into place and it came to fruition. We got our vacation planned. So I'm happy about that. But it is now August, so it took me 5 months to get this thing planned. Normally I get it planned in one week.

    I've been with Global Vacation Network for 14 years and it was fine but a little deceiving on some of the properties that we spent time in, but we've been happy with them and not happy with others, and couldn't get a hold of them because when we were unhappy we had to pay to upgrade ourselves to get out of a smoke-filled room you couldn't even open the windows on. But in the last few years, they've been pretty nice.

    We had a couple of presentation about a month ago and it was entertaining, but we ended upgrading. We went up northern Michigan this year; it was really nice. It was a golf resort and it was a real nice condo but there was few silverware because we cook in sometimes, and there were plastic knives. But we had quite a beautiful view. The people at the clubhouse were nice. It was a good experience. There were other things to do in the area so we were at a golf resort and it was fine. The weather was nice, we had a good time, and the last place we were in was in Pompano. We were put in a beautiful place on this street called Atlantic Avenue. For some reason, we thought we would be by the ocean but we were three miles from the ocean. But the place we stayed in was pretty awesome. It was a Wyndham resort. Some resorts are good, some not so good. When we put in our request, they try to find us what we want and they're always helpful. Were satisfied and we're still with them. We were happy with them.

    My experience as a Global Vacation Network member was positive. There wasn't any drawbacks as I was expecting from a timeshare. I wasn't quite sure what it was, I know that it's a decent presentation and the pressure to buy into was not hard or aggressive and you had the opportunity to stop and step back if you wanted to. I have had 6 stars with them four or five years, and the opportunity came up because I was interested in buying two more, so I came in for an informal presentation with one sales associate and we reviewed some of the basic changes from what I had previously to what it is today if you were to add on, and I'd like to add two more stars after that presentation.

    My vacations through GVN have all been fantastic. I don't have huge expectations. I wasn't expecting four stars in every place; I wasn't expecting it to be a global trendsetter in any place. But it got me to the locations that I wanted to be in. The accommodations were clean, neat, some were outstanding in terms of view. One in particular, St. Martin, was excellent in terms of changing a room once because there were some unacceptable things in the room I didn't like and they moved me to another room, so that was just a super experience getting changed, and excellent locations.

    I wish there were more locations, but it gets me where I wanted to. So I'm just looking forward to continuing. I like to plan ahead, so having 13 months in which to do that gives me ample opportunity to select places that I want to go to, and that is a huge advantage for me to be able to plot vacations a year ahead, so I just have to wait for me to get there. GVN met my expectations, and accommodations were above average.

    We've had Global Vacation since way back in the 70's. I've listened to several different companies, and they're all pretty much the same. They were nice and friendly. We've attended a GVN presentation in which they described their current programs. It was nice, and they were courteous. The only thing I would say is they need to offer some kind of snack when you're there that long. That would have been nice because we went at 6 o'clock, that's dinner time. And by then we're hungry. So by the time we got out of there, we were starved. They offered water and coffee, but that was it.

    Also, most of our vacations with them have been okay, but the last one... the location was okay, the condo itself was not. And we expressed that when we were there. We stayed at the Aston Venue. It was across from the beach and you can walk to a lot of things. The internet was wonderful. But they needed updating very badly. The stools to the counter were all shreds. The vacuum was bagless, it looked like it's never been emptied. It was full almost to the top. The kitchen towels were fine. The bath towels, they were very limited to one a piece. No washcloths or facecloths. The counter was in bad shape. It had a couple of holes in it. And the dishes were mismatched. When we've gone before, they've always been nice matched dishes, and pots and pans were a bunch of mismatched stuff. They worked but not the quality that we were used to seeing.

    So we told GVN about our stay and the lady was very upset. She said, next time, call this number and they will either change our location or change our condo because that's not up to their par either. Because the view there wasn't very good. It was looking at the parking lot, at the parking garage. It was not what we have had before from Global. We've used Global many times. I loved the one we've used in Arizona. It was wonderful. This one was in Maui and it was not good. Luckily, we were only there a week. And we made do.

    And my other biggest complaint with them, is the people downstairs told us, "Oh, they can't help us. That belongs to Global. We can't help you." They were friendly enough, like they got us some coffee filters because there was no coffee filters, so they got us some coffee filters. But we said, "Can you come fix this? 'Cause the door to the two bedrooms... we had our daughter and our son in-law with us, the bedroom door wouldn't stay on the track. Could you come fix?" "Oh, no. We can't do that. That's not ours." They were friendly, but they weren't helpful.

    Any place else we've ever say that if we have a problem, they'd come and taken care of it right away. We have gone to Arizona. They have been wonderful there. My son went to Vegas, that was wonderful. But this in Maui was not. We just went and listened to the upgrades and they were very upset to hear that we had this bad experience.

    Ten years ago, a friend of ours gave our name to Global Vacation Network and we went to the discussion. We had no problem signing for membership back then. We just listened to the presentation, figured what would work for us, and that was it.

    We were able to take a vacation every year, which is what our goal was. So far, we’ve taken around seven vacations. It’s not necessarily places that we’ve enjoyed or liked because the resort has sometimes been majorly crappy. Of the seven, probably only one has been great. Another one of the seven was a great location; however, it was not what we wanted, we wanted a different location. The hotel or the resort that we stayed in was very nice, but where we normally try to stay and get in, we’ve not really had great success with the resorts that we were staying. Still, GVN did allow us to take a vacation once a year.

    We hosted an at-home party just last month where GVN described their current programs. We were supposed to get vouchers for a 4-day or 3-night week stay or a weekend for hosting the party. We still haven’t received those, I don’t know what’s taking them so long. Also, after we had our at-home party, we called to do some pricing for appliances. We gave them our information and we’ve never heard back from them. In some customer service calls, they just give us a little bit of a song and dance. If we were only given help in getting our concerns resolved.

    We got a promotional call one day from Global Vacation Network and went out of state and saw a film and a presentation by a fellow. We didn't intend on buying it all, but we stayed because the meeting had to be a total of 90 minutes at the time. Then we met with someone, and we crunched the numbers. We thought we made a mistake, but we didn't so eventually we signed up.

    The best thing that we've gotten is to be able to use Diamond Resort properties through Global. We grab them every time they go up and that has been tremendous. And we haven't been unhappy with GVN. In fact there's one in Sedona that we're gonna go to on the 31st of October. The only time that we had problems was in Costa Rica, in Pueblo Real. That place is a mess. I emailed right away and got no response. I usually really check things out before going, but for that one, I didn't because we wanted to go to Costa Rica. We went and took a chance, and it’s not what we expected. We didn't have a choice then because we already had our airline tickets. It was like a gas station out of the back woods as far as I was concerned. They've got a beautiful pool area. And that's what the pictures are of. So we were kind of stuck until we got home. It cost me $2500 to get another place there. So one thing GVN could do is to give people 24 hours after they've booked to pull out of it if they can't get the right plane or... because you can't change the planes.

    I’m still waiting for GVN right now since I haven’t heard anything yet regarding my January vacation for January 25th. We went to a Global Vacation presentation and they had explained to us about getting the extra two stars for $2,000 and that we wanted to go on vacation this winter in January to Naples, Florida. The guy there said there wouldn't be a problem but they say different things and it seems that there’s nothing definite so I told them to hold on the upgrade if I can’t get my commitment to January’s stay. It isn't happening for us right now. Here it is, August, and I have arrangements to go on a cruise next January, but I don’t know if I have a place to stay around it, which is what I want to do.

    We had signed up with them when we took my daughter to a graduation program in Southfield. She graduated in 2001 and we had gotten something in the mail so while she was at her program, we went over, listened to a program then and signed up. We’re finally retired and we had bought it then thinking that we could do more things. We've only had two vacations with them. The first one was supposed to be in downtown San Diego but it turned out to be more than a half hour away from where we wanted to be. It was a very nice place and all inclusive but it just wasn't for what we needed because we were with family all day, and then by 11 o’clock at night, it was too late. I always said to drive up to the mountains, which is where the place was. It was a lovely place, but we ended up not staying there. We stayed a couple of days and didn't go back there. The second one was Hawaii and we had a wonderful time in Hawaii. It was a lovely place and couldn't have been any better. The people there were helpful and everything was nice. We did try one another time last year for Costa Rica and again, they couldn't find us anything near where we wanted to be so we ended up just renting the place too after going online and finding one.

    We got a cold call from Global Vacation and we were retiring the week before so they had us at the exact perfect moment of our life. We had gone to Mexico our first week of being retired and came home for two days and then we went to the Global thing. We were definitely in an upbeat mood and had no intentions on buying but we did buy. We've been very happy. We listened to the whole spiel. They do give giveaways when you go listen to that and those were quite disappointing because some of them, you don’t get what you’re supposed to get and make it really difficult. You can’t pick exactly the week you want to go or exactly where you want to go. I went on the computer and I see that everyone complains about that. They’re making a mistake by doing that because it does lure people in but then they get bad reviews.

    We've gone on 12 or 14 vacations through Global and most of them have been spectacular. They don’t give everything they say that they’re going to give you. When we went to Costa Rica, they say if you’re going to be at the beach, you’re going to have a balcony at the water. That’s so not true in Costa Rica. We were in the middle of a fig farm and there was no water anywhere near it. So there are some things that are not true. And did we have a blast? Yeah, we did. When we went snow skiing, we put our boots on in our living room and we walked to the ski lift closer than people could walk to their parking lots or get off the buses.

    We really don’t have any major complaints. We have a friend who bought it. I wouldn't ask my friend to buy it if I totally hated it - just everything they say is not true. We’re only four years into it but I’m finding that we used almost all the places around here. They said that they have it for all 50 states and I asked if we could get West Virginia, Ohio, or Pennsylvania which would be a driving trip and there is nothing in those states. Everywhere that I do get, I’m really thrilled with. And I had one situation in Arizona and the first night, they sent us away because they were overbooked and I called a few times and didn't get through. I called as we were driving away and they did refund my star credits and I had a year to use them which I didn't but just knowing that they had fixed the problem somewhat made me feel better. They didn't just say, “Well, too bad. You’re gone.” So I do like that. I’m glad we have it. I hope that it continues and we can find more places that we want.

We just went in to an orientation and it sounded good and I signed up and paid for it. It was a pretty good experience dealing with them and they were at my house here about a month and a half ago and so far so good. We just never have been able to go on a vacation together, but so far when I've had dealings with them, it's been okay. I did recommend it. I just signed three people up to it.

    The vacation I took through Global Vacation Network was good. The stay in Florida was good. We lodged across from the beach. I couldn't ask for no better place. I mean, me and my wife had a good time but it had been so long. I'm waiting to go in September down to Florida. We're waiting to go down there. The vacation is what you make it. The surrounding is what makes it. I mean, if you've got nice places around like a motel or something, it's nice. That's your whole outlet on a vacation, if you got a nice place to stay and you don't have to worry about bookings and staying clean. When I went before, I was happy with the lodging and all that. It was nice looking and everything.

    I recently signed up for GVN. I have since experienced some medical issues where I am having to pay significant medical bills. I contacted GVN because I am not able to travel for at least a couple of years and feel given my current circumstances this is not something for me. I do understand that I tried to cancel past the 3 day wait period; I have called several different people within their organization. They did offer to lower my payment (every little bit helps); however, it's not enough given the medical debt I am ensuing. I indicated that I was willing to call it even, however, that is still not good enough for them. I really need out of this deal and GVN is not willing to help me. Any suggestions?

    My experience with Global Vacation Network has been pretty good. I've been waiting to find a place in Florida other than Fort Lauderdale where the young people hang out. I've been waiting to find a place on the east side, along the East Coast and I haven’t been getting luck. Overall, I liked the one in Daytona we stayed at. It’s really outdated. We don’t need anything fancy. They had a construction site next door where they tore down an old place. There was dirt there and we had a lot of ants coming, but they took care of it right away. The few years we've been into it, we've enjoyed it. We like it because we bought the maximum stars. It seemed like a good deal. It’d be nice getting places a little easier right now. But I guess if everything would come easy, it might mean that people aren't using it.

    Somebody sent me a letter in reference to a Global Vacation Network gathering they were having. The letter had a date for us to come out there. So we went out to it and heard a rep talk about it. The presentation was good and everybody was friendly, so we decided to join.

    In the vacations we went to, everything worked out and went as planned. If we had questions, GVN answers it and everything was good. It was just like they said. There were no issues with anything or anybody. Everybody was very helpful and a good company at this point. I recommend GVN. They have good prices, and friendly and awesome people.     We first heard about Global Vacation Network from a flyer we got in the mail. The experience signing up with them was pretty good. The explanation and the people who presented it were good. Just a couple of months ago we just signed up to get two more stars and that was pretty informative. Whenever I do call the agents, they call me within 24 hours and they’re friendly. And the vacations have been real nice. I’m just still waiting to hear from Florida though. We put a vacation request in March. I still haven’t heard one word yet. Overall, it’s a nice package to have to get away for a couple of times a year. And after you retire, you’d be able to use it.

    We used the Global Vacation a couple of times and were disappointed with the places we went to. I had a party for a group of people and they all bought, and tried to get that free one-week vacation they were promised. They had such a hard time, none of them used that, and we didn't use it also. It's just that they don't have nice places to go to, so nobody went or used it. The person who came to demonstrate was very good; that's why he sold but they didn't come up with good/nice places to go to or to compromise, so nobody was happy with it. We wasted money.

    We went to a meeting in Grand Rapids about three years ago. Global had a good sales pitch and they had a good deal so we signed up for it. And just last week they called us again and we expanded our services a little bit. The only problem they have is that when they said you can get a free cruise and save thousands of dollars on bills is all false. It is downright deceitful. It was the section that you could barely read the paper on how to do it, and I was careful and read the paper and everything. But I guess I missed one line that says send registered mail and I didn’t send a registered mail, so they sent me a letter back with a letter saying, “you didn’t send a registered mail, so you’re disqualified.” So that’s the only thing I was real sad about.

    But overall we have a pretty good experience with Global. Up to presently, we’ve been using Global quite a bit because they’ve been having special buys. And special buy... you hear everything from luxurious, very nice condos for as low as $99 a week, all over, everything from Florida to Wisconsin to Ohio to Pennsylvania. We took advantage of them for the last couple of years. We had something like 9 trips. They've all been good and they have been reasonably priced. As a matter of fact, we just got back from Costa Rica. So we’ve been pretty much happy, except the problem is now that they have not had these special buys and I haven’t seen these special buys since January. In the previous two years, they almost had them about every other week.

    We liked the program so we signed up, and it was just easy. The first time we used it was about the 10th of December. We went to see our boys and it was a beautiful resort. It was in Arizona. The second time we used it was in California and that hotel looked like it belonged in the slums. It was horrible. The paint was peeling and the lights were out so you banged into things trying to get to your room at night. This time this year it looks like we've got a pretty good place lined up, or so I am hoping.

    One other thing is when we do talk to somebody, they’re very helpful. But just a week or so ago, we were asked to come and update. So we drove all the way down there. There was traffic galore. We tried calling. No answer. We finally make it down there. They said all the people had left for the day. I mean, they had still people there, but you're supposed to watch a presentation for something and everybody was gone. Nobody could help us. They gave us a ticket and said, "Okay there you go. Thanks for joining us". It's like we didn't drive all the way down here for nothing. We were only like 15 minutes late. We were really disappointed. We said, “Well, we called the number” and they said, “Well, that’s an Arizona number” or something like that. It was down south. Nothing to do with Livonia, Michigan. So it’s like, “Okay, wait a minute here. You need to give us a local telephone number so in case we have problems, we can let you know we’re going to be a few minutes late.”

    Seven years ago, we attended a GVN presentation. It was positive enough for us to buy and we've been on many trips. There was only 1 time that was negative, and it wasn't that bad. But we've always been satisfied with Global, other than the one time. We go every year and we've got New Hampshire booked in September. We're going to do a cruise in February and we're going to Wisconsin in May.

    I have nothing negative to say about anyone at Global. We do the VIP cruises and the staff that they send on the cruises is just incredible. All of my reservations, they just have been wonderful. I don't need to take a specific agent because they're all so good. The reason I have parties to introduce people to Global is because I believe in it so much.

    I got some piece of paper in the mail that said I’d get free airline tickets to somewhere if I call Global Vacation Network, and so I did. We walked in on a presentation, listened to their spiel and decided it was for us. They were very nice, friendly, courteous and knowledgeable—they told us everything we needed to know. We decided to become members and it was great.

    The place that we stayed at during our vacation was gorgeous. It had granite countertops; it was a very nice place. We learned in that trip that GVN doesn’t include extras such as toilet paper. But the place that we stayed at had no problems giving us the extras even though they didn’t need to. And over the phone, GVN have been very helpful. We got to line things up and they are very pleasant to work with. We’ll definitely be using GVN again, but right now, we’re waiving since we’re a little strapped for money.

    We purchased the lowest number of stars... 2 because yup we have no money, and this is why we joined. We would never be able to afford a vacation that was pleasant for us and the kids on our income. Anyway we paid $2000 for the membership (think one full week vacation's worth) and now we spent a total of $700 on a fully stocked condo unit, perfect for traveling with kids, for one full week. This was completely worth it. We travel to see family every year and it was roomy for us - 2 full bedrooms and a pull out couch, full kitchen and 2 bathrooms for $700; that's including the yearly registration fee. Not only that we had a beautiful view of the water, we were very satisfied and plan to go again next year.

    We received a phone call from Global back 8 years ago. We went to their office and that’s where we had their spiel, and we signed up at that meeting. During presentation, they went through why they existed, who they were as a company, where their roots were, and that they were using surplus timeshares as one of the main reasons they could offer the rates that they offer.

    We're pleased with Global Vacation Network. They have been courteous. They've worked with us. We've had great vacations through them. We usually take two a year. However sometimes it’s challenging to get exactly what you want, and most of it’s because I’m not that fast at early booking. But that’s one of the things that’s just reality when you’re working surplus -- you’re limited. In addition to that, one of the challenges that I find is that when they say “We can’t do this” you have to be a little more assertive to be able to get what you want... But overall, positive. It meets our expectations. I recommend it to my friends.

    We have had good experience so far with Global. What we noticed is that the condos we get are usually not the nice condos at the places we go. It seems we can't request anything and even some friends that also became members have noticed the same thing - that we always get the ones that are not renovated, the cheaper ones. We weren't aware of that when we purchased. That's not what they told us. We do vacation once a year and we're glad that we're able to have a vacation. We enjoy that.

I've only used it once, I just hosted a party not too long ago and I got a free trip out of it. One thing I don't like is that I have to register the trip, but the thing is I have to pay this big deposit and I'm not planning on using it until next year. But in the meantime, I have to pay like a big deposit of $200 right now. I don't like that. I think it's a good deal for someone who really has time to travel and can travel, which is not really me because I don't travel a lot because I don't have the money to do like that.

    It seemed like a good thing that's why I decided to sign up with Global years ago. I've already attended a GVN presentation where they describe their program and it was fine. They showed us some slides and talked about what it offered and how it was different from timeshares, It was interesting and it was fine. We've only taken one vacation through them and it was fine. Our problem has always been we've wanted to go certain places, and the ones we've asked for, they didn't have any availability so we went with what they had available and it was a fine place. It ended up being a studio and we had a need for an extra bed but that was all that was available at the time. It was okay. Were someday going to probably try it again but we haven't yet.

    We did have one bad experience when they called. Like our plan was coming up towards the end and they called to see if we wanted to come in to see if we'd be interested in other things and we weren't real happy with that guy. He was pretty pushy and we weren't crazy about him. But we just had a home party just maybe a couple of months ago and that was completely different and enjoyed that. But overall, it's just been okay.

    This year we called Global and ended up booking. Within 120 days we had some friends that we’re going to go on vacation with us thinking about joining. I called Global and told them that I wanted two condos or a house, and they said they probably wouldn’t have anything else in Myrtle Beach. I said, “Can you check and ask somebody if you could get something better?” They’re like “No.” I’m like “We've had parties for you and everything else, we’ve had people buy from us, and you can’t even check. I’m giving you 120-day notice and you can’t help me out here. You know, I’ve got people who are interested in buying…”

    I really thought there was going to be some changes, because we normally see things changing, but they said no nothing's gonna change. I even talked to the manager and she said no there's nothing we can do. Now I get up online and I see things changed. They could have just given me a little hope so I could give my friends hope that these things are going to change. I was very disappointed.

    Until this last time I have never said anything bad about Global. We belonged to Global for so long. We love Global Vacation plan. We've had fantastic vacations, we had saved thousands of dollars, it had been wonderful for us... we tell people how wonderful we think the program is! However my friends are really upset with me now, not believing a word I say about Global. Global had called and asked me to host a party and I said yes. My friends called and they cancelled completely.
