They charged me for a car I didn't even pick up after I called them letting them know I was running late, customer service told me not to worry because they would be around but they failed to inform me that they would close at 11pm. When I got there by the WPB airport they were closed, withdraw money from my credit card, and refused to refund the money, I spoke to many people who work there and got no results. They keep giving me excuses and the runaround.

Rented a car from Fox Rent a Car via Sam's Club. Incurred $30.79 in toll fees - which is fine. Got a credit card charge for another $90 in Admin Fees from Fox. Ridiculous. Have called four different numbers to try to resolve - so far, no luck. Will NEVER rent from Fox again....and question Sam's Club's decision to partner with Fox. Already submitted credit card dispute, filed a complaint with the BBB and posting all over social media to NOT RENT FROM FOX unless you want to pay for their bogus Admin Fees.

Booked on Priceline as a noncancellable, nonmodifiable reservation. Arrived at the counter and they charge me double the amount in other fees that were not optional add-ons. Either I forfeit the car and they still charge my card, or take the car and they still charge my card. I return the car and they increased the charge by another $50, citing various convenience fees and an "early fee". Will never book with Fox nor Priceline again. The cost would have been lower if I had gone to the more reputable brands despite a higher advertised on Priceline...At least places like Avis, Budget, Hertz, etc. don't deceive you with silly fees.

I have been a member for 2 years and book thru their website. I was flying into Miami for business and had booked my car three (3) days in advance. I arrived to the Fox car rental facility after two shuttles (train and bus). Get to the counter and he finds my reservation and two minutes later he tells me they are sold out. I told him it is Sunday at 10 pm, and looking thru the window, I count 42 cars available. He said he can't help leaving me stranded.

Had to fly out to Miami for a funeral, looked up car rentals and this seemed like the best choice for the price. I only needed the car for 2 days. Initially, I was quoted and charged $102.00 plus the $150 deposit would get “returned” when the car was returned. I paid extra at the counter so I didn’t have to deal with toll charges. Once I returned the car with a full tank, I was told by the guy who took my car in that my deposit would be “returned” to my cc in 5-7 business days. Little did I know, I would never see my deposit. I called 10 days after my trip and they said they were keeping my deposit to cover unexpected charges. My car rental wasn’t for $102 but the actual amount was $252.00. Don’t fall for this rental agency's lies. Go somewhere else. I will be filing a complaint with small claims about this company.

Never rent a car from this company. I rented an economy car from fox car rental using Expedia website. I paid $373.40 (this includes the 6 days car rental and the insurance). After I returned the car, they charged me $563.86 on top of the $373.40. So the total for renting an economy car for 6 days was $937.26 (more than $a150 per day).

I called them and tried to explain that there are many extra charges but the lady who answered me was very rude. I told her that, "I bought the insurance when I made the reservation, and you charged me again for insurance." She said it is a third-party insurance and she cannot do anything. There is $33.25 for fuel. I filled the car with gas the day before returning it, and I used it for only 30 or 40 miles. $90 for upgrade, which I did not approve, I told the person in the office that I do not need to upgrade. I need only an economy car. I rented cars many times before from other companies and I never paid such amount. I will file a complaint to the customer protection service, and I might take legal action. They are scammers.

My boyfriend and I were visiting California. We went to Burbank Airport to rent a car. Fox car rental seemed reasonable, we needed a car for four days. This is where it went wrong. Our salesman charged us for three days instead of four days. We wanted the car the 23rd-27th and they charged us till the 26th without our knowledge. He made it clear after we had gotten the keys “See you back the 27th!, have a great trip!” We get a call the 27th saying our car is late and we will be getting charged a late fee. I was confused why this was happening but then the collector told us the situation.

I was furious because we got charged for FOUR days $637 and now they want us to pay more? We were charged for four days and not three and we were told “Well you should’ve looked on your on your contract.” It’s a full on scam and fraud filled business. I do not recommend ANYONE to FOX RENT A CAR. Their business and service is beyond terrible. Good people that work hard should NOT be getting scammed or ripped off trying to rent a car + enjoying their vacation.

Flight cancelled and rebooked on earlier flight. So got to Fox earlier at 7:30 PM and rental started at 9:45. Tried to charge me $225 to pick car up 2 hours early or said I could wait until 9:45. They had no indoor seating. All outside on plastic chairs. We waited and at 9:30 the employee turned off the lights and started locking up. When asked where he was going when he knew we were getting our car in 15 minutes he handed us a slip of paper with a customer service number and said we could call to complain that he was going on a 30 minute break. He went to his car and watched us sitting outside with our child and never left the parking lot. Just watching us amused. When he came back at 10 PM we had been waiting 2.5 hours at this point and we were very unhappy. When I expressed my feelings he refused to rent us a car and told me to leave.

When I asked him to call a manager he called the POLICE! I’m not kidding. I still can’t believe it but I have the police report to prove it. You can call Ontario PD at 909-395-2001 and ask for report ** to see it. We waited until 10:45 for the officer to come. He could not believe we had been waiting since 7:30. The officer asked the employee if he could rent me the car but the employee would not. It was after 11 at this point and all other rental car places were closed. We were left stranded with our child at Fox with no hotel or transportation. We walked with our 7 pieces of luggage down the street to the first hotel and begged for a room since we could not get to our actual hotel an hour away. The replacement rental cost us over $300 more for last minute. These actions by Fox should be criminal. Save yourself and don’t rent from Fox!

Used Fox rental cars for the first time traveling to Tampa. At the checkout counter when picking up the vehicle, the total price with fees and everything was $48 for 24hr rental. I opted for the company to top off my fuel at $3.33 a gallon which I thought was very fair. We drop 64 miles in a Jeep wrangler that started with a full tank and was above 3/4 full when we returned the next morning. They charged me to fill the entire 23 gallon tank and added about 8 different “service” fees that was not on the $48 total that I signed up for the previous day. Complete rip off. My total was $174 dollars for a 24 hr rental and traveled 64 miles. Never, never will we use again. They have the playbook on how to tank a company.

When I got to Phoenix airport, to the Fox desk, I was offered prepayment of fuel. I said that I usually fill up at the local Costco before returning a car. I was told that I would be charged 8.99/gal for anything over 2 miles away from the rental car return. That sounded expensive, so naively I agreed to prepay for, what a sign said was $4.85/gal or so. Which didn't seem exorbitant.

I was also told to "fill up in Yuma, you'll be OK then." When I went down to get a car, I asked the attendant: "Do you really charge people if they've traveled 2 mi after doing a final refuel?" He said, "They're sales up there. (No)". It all seemed fishy. I quickly Googled the issue and found that I'd be liable for taxes/fees, and that whatever I didn't use (fuel-wise) I would lose. If I'd "filled up in Yuma", I would have lost several gallons of gas, which would have been Fox's gain. I tried right away to change from prepaid to self-refuel. Fox makes this impossible. I tried to use all the fuel before returning the car, but left a couple gallons in there.

All told, I lost about $50 because I got pressured into prepaying. Calling Fox customer service was fruitless. Disputing the credit card charge was fruitless, because I signed the rental agreement (who has time to read all the fine print)? The taxes and fees are significant, and not listed on the sign that says, "$4.85/gal if you prepay". There was no mention of the taxes and fees on the sign, or from the agent who pressured me. Of course it's in the fine print. Expedia didn't have any way for me to leave a negative review. So this is the only place that I can warn others: avoid Fox if you want to avoid this kind of hassle. Others have had much bigger problems than this one, but it was really unpleasant. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had in years.

They said I did not, and trusting that I proceeded with my trip to Salt Lake City for the first time. The manager, a male, was snarky and quite rude. He said that he didn't know of any car company that rents without a credit card, but with an audacious tone. All well and good, but I told him that prior to the trip, I called Fox's central office to make sure that a credit card was not needed. and they told me that since we already paid for the rental, the credit card was not necessary.

After some negotiation, he told us he ultimately would not rent us a car. We were floored. He could have had a wee bit more patience, but we feel that since we are a multi race couple he just could not let us rent a car at the end. Furthermore, we were tired from traveling all day and were quite fatigued. So, we were left stranded after a long day. I have to say that this was more than a minor inconvenience. Stay away from this company. Go to Enterprise, they took care of us right away, even after all this fumbling. Even with our politeness, we tried hard with this manager! A representative had just switched out and instead of taking care of customers she proceeded to do paperwork or go to the back for 30 minutes before taking any customers leaving just one clerk attending customers. When I finally got to the clerk, she informed me that there were no vehicles (Compact) available which I had previously prepaid for. She informed me that they only had minivans. I asked her if I would be charged any additional fees since there were no vehicles I prepaid for available, and she stated there would NOT be any additional fees. I had to put a security deposit down - when I checked my credit for the security deposit, I only received a portion of the deposit back.

I called their customer service number to ask why I didn't receive the full amount and the representative told me it was because I had upgraded my vehicle. I told her that I was told by the counter representative that there would NOT be any additional charges and that I wanted my full deposit refunded. I also asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. The representative indicated that I could not speak to either of them and that she would send an email to a manager regarding the situation to see if they would approve the refund. I asked if I would be getting a copy of the email request and she indicated that I would not be getting a copy.

When I asked her to tell me what she would be stating in the email she was failing to include the most important fact that the counter customer service representative stated there would be no additional charges because they, Fox, did not have the size of vehicle I had prepaid for. Entered into a rental agreement ahead of trip on Fox’s website, and prepaid, along with an extra $150 deposit required (that was supposed to be refunded at the end of the trip).

Upon arrival, offered an upgrade for a jeep for $30 extra a day for 4 days, and paid for upgrade and sun pass at that time. Had a copy of rental insurance and travel credit card for collision. Was assured by service rep and attendant upon returning car in good condition we would receive our $150 security deposit back. Received a receipt with extra undisclosed charges tacked on, and no refund of security deposit. Contacted customer service, and was no help, because we apparently signed the “fine print”. Ended up costing us an additional $322 for a supposed $120 to upgrade. Couldn’t even take the top off the jeep, due to being a hard top, hand crank windows with manual locks, ran rough, and didn’t feel like “an upgrade” at all.

I booked a rental car via Booking.com for a vehicle at Fox Rent A Car LAX in advance on March 6, 2023 for a planned trip in April to Los Angeles, California. The reservation indicated I would receive a Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar from April 11-13, 2023 a total cost of $126.86. I arrived at the Fox Rent-A-Car LAX location on the afternoon of April 11 and the customer service agent (OLUFEMI), indicated they did not have any Jeep Grand Cherokees and if we wanted an SUV he could put us in a Dodge Durango. He indicated it would be $50 per day, which was only $2 difference from the vehicle I had reserved so I agreed. He proceeded to discuss insurance to which I asked "Can't I waive the insurance?". He motioned negatively and again asked me which insurance I wanted so I did choose one since the agent appeared to indicate that I did not have a choice.

When I returned the vehicle, the return agent processed the paperwork and the total was significantly higher than the quoted price. He indicated the vehicle was not $50 a day, but was a considered an upgrade and the cost was an ADDITIONAL $50 per day. He also indicated I would not receive the $150 dollar back as the initial customer service agent indicated I would. The receipt I was provided indicated UPSALE. The insurance and the UPSALE definitely was deceptive practices and "bait and switch".

I spoke to a manager who was not helpful at all. He indicated the Durango is an upgrade, although I explained to him that his agent did not explain that and the Booking.com reservation indicated Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar. I do know that the MSRP for the Jeep Grand Cherokee is significantly greater, so I do not understand why the Durango would be considered an upgrade with a $50 extra fee, pricing the rental for almost $100 per day. Had I been explained about the upgrade, I would have respectfully declined. The manager indicated he could not correct the pricing to honor the Booking.com reservation, all the while speaking condescendingly with a smirk on his face. He proceeded to ask me to prove what I was saying. At this time we had a flight to catch and time was of the essence. He indicated we could follow up with the corporate office and he would place notes on the account.

This was the worst experience I have ever had renting a vehicle during vacation. I was lied to from the time I arrived to pick up the vehicle until the time I returned the vehicle. Four different Fox Rent-A-Car representatives communicated four different inconsistent statements regarding my reservation. I believe deceptive practices were employed to solidify upsale contracts and purchase of unnecessary insurance, as I have full coverage automobile insurance on my primary vehicle. All in all, the experience was horrible and I have nothing positive to say about the experience. Had I known I would end up Paying over $100 per day to rent a vehicle, I would have reserved a luxury vehicle, to which a Dodge Durango IS NOT.

In Fort Myers for vacation, decided to rent this car as it was advertised through Expedia. Got a really great rate by booking in advance. Check out of the car seemed to be smooth and the agent told us that if the initial car provided wasn't suitable to simply come back in and she would help us out. The initial car seemed a bit small, so I went back in, as the agent had mentioned, to ask for help. She then pointed out a few other vehicles in the lot that we could have. When I asked what the price difference was between the initial car we booked and the others she was showing, she pointed at them all and stated that they were the same. So, we decided on another vehicle. We did not sign a new contract for the new vehicle, but were given a new invoice that just had written on it "exchanged" and nothing that said "upgrade" or equivalent wording.

When we returned the car, the manager told us the price and it was hundreds of dollars more than the original price! We were told that we agreed to the upgrade and therefore that was the cost. After disputing for a little, the manager took of $113.00. We weren't satisfied...BUT we didn't want to miss our flight, so we agreed to the amount and left unhappy. The agent was not transparent about the costs and fully and completely open about the various charges. Hi, I have rented a Mini Van from Fox at TPA Airport on 2-7-23 and returned at 2-14-23, we clearly discussed that I don't want to purchase any additional insurance or any other product like toll pass etc., I was shocked to see that they blatantly charged me for supplemental liability which was $109 more then what I agreed.

I don't know how this mistake could have happened since it was so clear at pick up that I don't want to add this insurance, but from the way they responded to my complaint it seems very likely that this is their strategy from the get go, they were not even interested in finding out how this confusion happened, they simply stated their position that I requested this insurance without giving any credence to my argument that I never accepted it.

It seems to me that they simply rely that there will always be customers who aren't so smart or educated enough to fight to get their money back, and that they take advantage of the less educated or older people who don't know how to argue with them. I know it because the same time I returned my vehicle I overheard an older lady arguing with them over how come she was charged for her Toll Pass about $12 each day when she was promised that it would only be a one time charge.

She argued with them screaming "I asked you 5 times if this would be a one time fee or a daily fee and each time the answer was that it would only be a one time fee and not a daily fee and now you are telling me that its indeed a daily fee?" This makes me think that they are stealing right and left from whoever they can, without any regards for honesty. I was able to get a refund on 2-28-23.

To be completely honest, the car was nice so I liked my rental experience, however I would most likely not rent again with them since it's impossible to know what you will end up being charged. If you happen to absolutely have to rent with them, make sure you force them to print out the agreement on paper at the time of pickup with all charges listed and take your time to go it over to double check if they haven't sneaked you in something against your will. In any case it's better to completely avoid them altogether as you will have to count your fingers to see if you have them all after shaking your hands with them.

They also charged me $64.95 for tollway tolls, even though we used a fraction of that amount for the traveling we did. When I called and complained, they said that I signed and agreed to pay those amounts on the contract. I will NEVER use Fox rental car again. I think they are unscrupulous and deceiving. BTW...their cars are not the newest....our car had 71,000 miles on it and was well worn.

When I arrived at the hotel, I contacted customer service of this company and they told me that the insurance was voluntary and that I had to go back to the office where I had picked up the vehicle and they would change the contract. This shows that the values they offer are to hook and then force, not having knowledge, to include insurance and others that most likely will not be used. I still paid USD 400 considering tolls that I did not even use.

Got the typical bait & switch. Had even called to confirm a Hyundai Santa Fe was available as wanted to test drive this model after getting it last year from FOX in Ft Lauderdale and was happy with it. But was offered only a Dodge Journey which is NOT EQUIVALENT as these vehicles don't have the necessary leg room as does the Santa Fe...why even classify as same? So the typical response was "we can upgrade you"...OF COURSE...IT'LL COST YOU!!! WHY???? I was promised it and why I PREPAID!!!! WHAT a typical SCAM!!! The vehicle I was given was NOT AN UPGRADE....it was the typical Jap tin can!!...a sub-standard Toyota 4Runner...no featured equipment features like the normal Hyundai Santa Fe and drove and handled TERRIBLE!!! It even was reporting tire issues CONSTANTLY...but all tires fine...didn't even have way to test tire inflation pressure like most GMCs have...again substandard.

Why if FOX didn't have the promised vehicle...upgrade at THEIR EXPENSE? And if I pay almost double the daily rate I was promised...TRULY upgrade to a vehicle with same features as promised...not these sub-standard Toyotas, but at least a GMC equivalent? It'll be my last rental from FOX!! I had to put up with this crap vehicle for 3weeks!! FOX knew I was coming nearly 3 months ahead and prepaid as well...I would had expected FOX to ensure that the vehicle promised WAS AVAILABLE and reserved...especially having been a repeat /returning customer.

Oh and by-the-way...STOP encouraging buying the toll road SunPass @ $10 a day...the desk clerk said oh you'll need it!!...BS!!! Drove nearly 1000 miles and NEVER NEEDED IT. Went to Ft Lauderdale, New Smyrna Beach, St Augustine and back through Orlando without it!! What another SCAM avoided!! I would think FOX would be able to stand up to your promises and if not eat the cost at their expense to keep your customer satisfaction level up.

Prices sounded great when I booked it. When picking the car up at LAX Airport, it was a Kia sedan. It had 70,000+ miles, a rattling, constantly vibrating steering wheel, windshield wipers that smeared the rain around, completely shot, no floor mats and carpet worn through from people's feet. Horrible. In addition, they whacked me with a $12+ tax/day (8 days) for a flimsy booster seat for my toddler.

Then, while driving my daughter to the San Diego Zoo down the Pacific Coast Highway, there was a car accident and I had to detour to a toll road. Long story short, there were no cash lanes open, I did not purchase Fox's toll tag, there was an 800# to call for tolls if cash lane was closed and you didn’t have a tag. I called to try to settle up and was told that I couldn’t, since it was a rental car. Fox charged me $9/toll (x2) and a $15 admin fee for each toll, for a total of $48. After the crappy car, the cheap booster seat, worn out wipers and a complete money grab for tolls, this was not a good deal at all. Please avoid this company unless you want to be nickel and dimed after the rental and enjoy driving a junker.

I figured even if they charge us $2 extra per gallon, for 10 gallons maximum the would be $20 bucks. So we returned the car. Fox charged me $8.99 a gallon for 18 gallons of gas. We were planning a trip to Orlando from NY. My wife and I get discounts through our jobs so we used Fox to rent a car. We had the reservation done over a week prior to our flight. The amount we agreed on was $174 and some change. Our flight was delayed 3 hours so I read over our rental agreement we printed and it said we could pick up our rental 24/7. We landed in Orlando and quickly realized fox was not located at the airport which was unfortunate but they offered a shuttle to their location. We waited awhile for the shuttle which took us a few miles from the airport.

When we arrived at Fox in Orlando we had all of our paperwork ready and showed the guy. Two seconds later he tells us they canceled our reservation because we didn’t pick it up by 6pm. It was a little after 6:30 and nowhere on our paperwork does it state we had to pick our rental up within a time limit. We explained all of this to him and he acted like he didn’t care. He told us it was going to be $105-140 per day before other taxes and fees which would’ve put us around $700-800 for the 5 day rental. I asked him how that makes any sense considering we were quoted $175 for 5 days and now all of the sudden it’s practically $175 each day, he claimed the prices changed because it’s almost the holiday season. Never offered us any kind of discount knowing we had an agreement in our hand. There was literally a week's difference in us making this reservation.

So now we’re stuck in an unknown location with no transportation and no way back to the airport to talk to other rental companies. I got on my phone looking for large SUV rentals and the companies I knew of were all booked because of the large organization. So we felt completely stuck. The guy that was no help came out on his cell phone saying there’s a place he knows around the corner and the guy would come pick us up. Said he would give us an suv with 3rd row seating for $450 for the 5 days. It seemed like our only option so we agreed. A few minutes later a man shows up and grabs us takes us another few miles away. Once again the $450 was before taxes it ended up being $524 and a $200 deposit.

After speaking to other parents that flew in for this organization every single one that chose fox had similar problems. They had quotes much cheaper and when they arrived they were charged more than double that amount. I decided to look at more reviews for Fox and quickly realized they do this often. And their vehicles are apparently very dirty and not taken care of. On their website it shows they have vehicles from as low as $35 a day. I truly believe they were trying to take advantage of us. So maybe we dodged a bullet but when planning a trip and trying to budget things it’s a horrible feeling when the company you sign an agreement with takes advantage of you after screwing you over and making you feel vulnerable. I will absolutely never do business with Fox again and I highly suggest anyone that wants to enjoy their trip to do the same.

I rented a car from Fox at Los Angeles International Airport on November 20, 2022. Upon arrival, I walked to the highlighted Purple Car Rental Pick-up area where I waited an hour and fifteen minutes for a ride to the pick-up Fox Office. I told the driver that me and another passenger had been awaiting his arrival. He was disrespectful and flippant. He simply chuckled and said, "You know traffic"! He made multiple stops along the way in the dirty van with dilapidated seats. The blue seats were so worn they had turned blue-gray with a hint of blue. Very disgusting.

The office held long lines and was equally dilapidated. The employees seemed overworked and a bit disheveled. Not a good look for a supposed professional company. Upon arrival to the car pick-up location, cars were lined up but there were no full-sized cars available, thereby requiring an additional wait of twenty minutes for the car to arrive for rental. My plane arrived at 9:30 p.m. by the time I received my rental car it was midnight. No one reviewed the car's condition but left it to me as a consumer to indicate damages on an 8 1/2 x11 inch sheet of paper with images of cars. This was also confusing.

The car was dirty on arrival. I was told the machine was broken thus cars were hand-washed and vacuumed. The car arrived wet with splashes of soap. I could not discern whether it was actually soap on the car or the car was damaged. Additionally, the garage where cars were picked up is not well-lighted, consequently, it was difficult, at best to discern the condition of the interior or exterior of the rental car.

In summary: Do not rent from Fox. It is evident they are only interested in making money. The cars are dirty and in poor condition. My car required alignment. The transport van and office is filthy. The line to retrieve vehicles was too long. The wait for the van was over an hour. I stood and watched multiple clean and spacious pick-up vans pass by. Please do pay the additional cost to rent from a company that cares. It is apparent Fox does not have respect for clients as evidenced by the numerous one-star ratings. They really deserve 0 stars but there is no room for this when selecting stars.

I was arriving late evening so I was looking forward to picking up my car after a 12-hour travel day. When I arrived, I was told they had no cars. Not “no cars in your type” or “no cars for the rate you pre-paid” but NO CARS AT ALL. Zero cars. I was one of several customers finding this out around 10:30 pm on a Wednesday.

The guy at the Fox counter told us to go to the Dollar rental desk and warned us they wouldn’t be able to match the rate I’d already paid (about $800). Worth noting that Dollar, Thrifty, and Hertz are all one company. Dollar offered a rental for more than $2000. I was too tired to argue. They gave me the number of a parking spot and I hauled my 3 suitcases up to the garage. By the time I found the spot, someone else was in the car. They had given her the same spot number. I’m guessing one of the folks at Thrifty or Hertz had been a little quicker than my guy. I dragged all my stuff back down to the desk and cancelled everything.

Ended up renting at Enterprise the next day. I was lucky…I had made the reservation directly with Fox so I got a full refund within a week. Other people in line had made reservations through Expedia. Fox told them to get a refund from Expedia, and of course Expedia was telling them to get it from Fox. TOTAL SCAM and FRAUD. We requested a refund and we were not given one, nor have they gotten back to us when we escalated our complaint. STAY AWAY FROM BOTH FOX RENT A CAR and EXPEDIA.. My rental went from $315.00 to almost $1,000.00 for a low budget rental car company. Fox car rental. The vehicle was a 2018 Dodge Journey. With almost 90k. One of the front drive axel was clicking when turning, the front headlights had condensation in side after it rained, the interior was horrible. Unfortunately I was pressed for time and could not return the vehicle early. I did try calling but the call gets routed to a different location and to get a human to answer is like waiting for ice to melt in the artic. But there must be a reason why the Miami Airport does not allow them to do business in their Airport. That should have raised a red flag. I would have felt safer with Alamo, Enterprise, Avis, all of the other options available at the airport. Please don't be fooled by their initial price. It's a fishing hook to get you in the door. Bad business practice. Remember the saying If you buy cheap you're going to pay for it in the long run. Well I got hooked and paid for it. Never again.

Message to anyone that sees this I would strongly advise never renting from Fox car rental. We are currently in south Florida under a state of emergency with hurricane Ian, Fox car rental will not allow us to return the car but to only five locations in the entire state of Florida and four of them are Orlando or south where the worst hit areas are. They will not work with me or anything else. They say I’m on my own basically and if the car is dropped off at any other location, other than the five locations in Florida, that we are responsible for the car, will not give me any other options to return the car anywhere else during a state of emergency. I really believe that this company has no regard for us the customers and our safety.

This company is NOT at the airport. These are NOT new cars. If that is what you are looking for, you should not have left the airport! These have bumps and bruises and some miles on them, like your car at home...So you should feel right at home here. There is a shuttle to bring you to several rental car companies that are quite off the beaten path. The shuttle ride was really concerning. At a certain point, the driver jumped a downward ramp! Eduardo was polite and easy to work with at pickup. I waited for them to wash the car. But drying the car off is not a part of "cleaning the car for your use".

On my return, I was trying to present my receipt for filling up the car before returning to avoid the mistake of being charged for gas. I based this on a review I read, and speaking to a representative over the phone before bringing in the car. The guy I spoke with said it was unnecessary, and when I said I read recent reviews that said the opposite, he said, "well, that was the review". I went inside to do the same, and the rep at the desk said "that was from a long time ago". (All of these horrible reviews I read were within the last two months.)

The first shuttle driver that came to pick up, held up two fingers to say he only had room for two people. The second shuttle was parked at the front of Fox and did not come near the area that said "shuttle bus" with the covering for shade. I tipped the guy $20 for all of the people on the shuttle bus for getting us there quickly since we waited quite a while for the shuttle.

For how they were able to get me into a car in a pinch, for how great I was treated by Eduardo, the fact I had NO extra charges besides what I agreed to, and having a decent car to rent, I would rent from them again. The shuttle driver leaving and going to the airport was quite sketchy, and the return guys are not exactly nice. If those would be hang ups for you, do not rent from here. If you just need to get it done and rent something decent, absolutely try them out.

I rented a car from this place and paid in full. All was left for me to do is just to return it. When it was time to return the car they forced me to sign a document and said if I don't sign it I cannot return the car. Since I didn't speak any English I didn't understand anything that was on the document, because I don't speak or read English. Also I filled up the tank in full with fuel. They still charged me $11 per gallon for a full tank. Overcharging me for a full tank of Gas that I already filled up. On top of that its $11 per gallon that price is unheard of. The fees below are what was added on top of what I already paid in full. I did not pass any tolls. The car was not an energy car. The fuel was already filled up. I never agreed to pay for loss damage waiver, customer facility charge and Alternative dispute resolution. I never agreed to any of these charges. I had no idea I was being charge for any of these. It was all a lie and fraud.

This company is a scam towards people who don't understand English. It's very unfair that they treat people from other countries in such a prejudice conniving way. I am disgusted by their behavior cheating me by $1058.65 all because I am from another country. I called them back many times with an interpreter and they ignored my calls and gave me the run around. I lost money for paying an interpreter and going nowhere with it. At the moment I am at a loss and the company is doing nothing about it. Drop. Vehicle license fee. Energy recovery fee. Rental surcharge. Tolls per day. Customer facility charge. Alternative dispute resolution. Loss damage waiver. Fuel at $11 per gallon. Total charges $1058.

I was told I would have to call the corporate office in California and file a claim for a refund. The local office couldn't do anything to help me. The time difference added a degree of difficulty, and I ended up having to drive my own vehicle.

After I got ahold of the company to file my dispute they told me they would have to verify my claim with the local office, and call me back. First they didn't call me back so I called them again. I was told the office manager never responded to their inquiry so they would have to call me back, they didn't call me back. When I spoke to them again the office manager still had not responded, and I was told I would receive a refund. 2 months later I received a new charge from Fox Rental as a recharge. When I disputed the charge through my bank, Fox claimed the charge was valid and Visa simply agreed. I now lost my second dispute. Not only did I have to pay for travel in my personal vehicle, but now I have had to pay for a rental that I was never given.

We declined to add myself on as an additional driver, she charged us and had to get a manager to remove it. Next, it was the tolls, this location did not offer an easy pass. It was very inconvenient for the consumer but lucrative for them. If you went through a toll, they charge you an additional fee on top of the toll. Next, the car broke down and it overheated an hour after we picked it up. It was inconvenient waiting and calling roadside assistance being transferred and out on hold.

Then they asked for pics and videos to see if it was something WE can fix!! Heck no, send someone out here and bring us another car. That took 2 whole hours and we were 20 minutes away. We left the car and walked to a nearby restaurant to wait. We finished our meal, they still had not arrived. Once the driver showed up, switched the cars but the replacement car was not the same class as the original. AND no, they did not compensate the rate.

I had prepaid the amount of about 1400 dollar, including a 200 dollar online collision insurance with another company. The operator at pick up in Denver added all kinds of insurances, adding about 1000 dollar worth of insurances to my initial bill without me asking or without him explaining what he was adding to my bill. I did not need nor ask all this insurances.

From being the best priced rental car deal this turned into a real scam, which I would even tend to call a criminal activity. I am totally dissatisfied and asked for a refund and you refunded me about 350 dollar. The real thing is that the Fox Rental operator in Denver took advantage of me and the confusion that is inherent when one arrives at an airport in a foreign country and so he doubled the initial amount of money, which had already been prepaid. Very dissatisfied and I feel I was scammed.

I live in Washington and needed a rental car to go to Spokane for concert my daughter bought as a birthday present. So I went online and prepaid for my 2 day car rental non refundable. I pay to park my car in an outside parking lot take their shuttle to the airport and another shuttle to the car rental center. I take my license and a cc with my name on it up the counter. She puts all my info in and tells me it’s a 500$ deposit payable by major cc only. My card only has 400 available, I have debit and cash and they won’t take either. However the lady In front of me and next to me only had to pay 150 deposit and was able to use their debits because they were from out of state. They also would not use 2 ccs nor would they use someone's cc if they weren’t there. When I mentioned there was nothing on the Travelocity website regarding a deposit they said they’re 3rd party so they have nothing to do with them.

They have control over how 3rd party businesses conduct business about them especially if your prepaying for their services. I would love to know why the 500 deposit for local and 150 for out of state (these are not for damage) their for theft and both will not stop someone from stealing a car if that’s their intentions. Also a cc is much easier to stop payment on than a debit card so why not accept the debit card from someone local. If I had known about the deposit I would of brought the cc to cover it. But after 2 and a half hours I spent in line and at their counter and no help from them it was too late to take a shuttle back to the airport, another shuttle to my car drive home to get a cc and then do it again on a Friday. They also had to have the physical card there so I couldn’t pull up a different one on my phone prove it’s mine and have them run it for the deposit. My daughter wasted the money for the tickets and the hotel and I feel horrible and will never think of using it, referring anyone to Fox rental.

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! This place is a scam. I rented through a third party - Car Rental 8. I rented a Camry or similar. My prepaid amount was $329.86 with an estimated amount of $126.00 was to be paid at the time of pick up. I made the reservation with my Visa debit bank card. They wouldn’t accept this when we got there to pick up the car and would only accept a credit card. We were told that $318.88 would go on our card and the majority would be refunded - we chose to have them fill the car up upon return ($97.00) and we thought we were buying a toll road pass for $69.00, at least that’s what the agent told us when we picked up the car; however, the Plate Pass cost us $95.92 ($11.99 per day), a different cost than what we were told and than what was printed out on our rental agreement. This was not how the agent explained this to us.

When we arrived to pick up the car we were told that they didn’t have a Camry and would put us in a van. This was fine with us. We were rushed through signing electronic documents on a little screen really just big enough for our initials/signatures - DON’T do this. ASK to see a printed explanation of everything you’re signing. We trusted what the agent told us and trusted that the money would be refunded on our credit card. It was not. Not only was the $318.88 not refunded, but the total charged to our credit card was actually $343.68. The total for renting a Camry came to $673.54. So, while it looks like a good deal, it’s not. You might as well rent from Budget, Avis, or Enterprise. All the hidden fees are a scam to make it look like you’re getting a better rate.

Also, the van was pretty beat up on the outside. They give you a paper to mark anything bigger than a golf ball size dent on the outside of the car. You are then supposed to give it to the gate attendant. I pretty much circle the whole car as there was chipped paint all along the passenger side door, and dents/scratches in other areas. The fabric in the very back of the van was torn up and noted as well. The gate attendant didn’t even look at what we marked or the car to verify the damages - he took the paper and moved us through the gate. As we were pulling out of the gate, a Fox shuttle drove by with the rear door open and someone’s suitcase fell out. My husband stopped the car and I grabbed the suitcase and took it to the gate attendant to explain what happened thinking he would be able to radio the shuttle or call to let them know. He didn’t seemed really concerned about it. So, someone arrived at the airport without their luggage.

It was not real clear upon returning the car what we were supposed to do. When we pulled into the return parking, there was no one to tell us what to do. Thinking we had to return the keys to the counter, we started to head inside and was stopped by a worker outside who took the key and told us to go inside to get to the shuttle. We were told that we didn’t need to check in at the desk and that we would be sent a receipt. Now I understand why - they don’t want you to question all the extra charges. Again, DON’T RENT FROM FOX.

Then I go ahead and book new reservation on 6/22/2022 for the amount of $293.08 plus $150.00 for deposit, I went to my credit card account and there was 2 charges and 2 deposits, 5 days later one deposit was back. I wait it until 7/6/2022 and check my account and saw only $150.00 back to my account. Today 7/6/2022 I went to their website and check their prices and it was even cheaper and decide to cancel it one more time $293.08 and re-book at the new rate of $263.96 plus $150.00 deposit. So I decide to call fox rent a car to see when I will see money back to my account and their respond was, "We can give you in store credit for those canceled reservation" but their system newer warned me about this and they never send me an email that I have to call them to get the in store credit for future reservation.

Now because of their system setup I end up Paying them $785.55 plus new reservation of $263.96 plus $150.00. I would like for you guys to step in and help me out to get my $785.55 back because their system do not warn the customer about the canceling policies that you they are keeping those charges if canceled, nor their system have ability to warn you that you are obligated to call them to get in store credit. So if you do not know about this you will end-up paying for double even triple reservation. This was all done using the Pay now and save. (Not much of a savings). THIS IS REALLY MONEY HUNGRY COMPANY AND IF THEY DO NOT FIX THEIR SYSTEM AND MY ISSUE I WILL STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

NEVER!! Rent a car From FOX CAR RENTAL. Rented a car at Denver Airport on June 27th and returned on July 4th. Horrible. Customer service LIED to us and others around us who were also renting. FIRST: We were told by the clerk that we could prepay to fill the car at return. The agent stated they were always about 30 cents cheaper than the gas stations. My husband asked specifically if they would only charge us for the amount of gas needed to fill the vehicle. Yes they said. LIE. We were charged $81.51 cents for filling a car we returned with close to 3 quarter tank. Gas was averaging $4.85 a gallon at the gas stations. The car has a 16.6 gallon gas tank. So they charged us for filling a bone dry gas tank. Seems like someone who works there benefited from the rest of our fill-up. Oh, and what happened to the 30 cent cheaper?

SECOND: We were told that Denver and surrounding areas had mostly toll roads. That in addition to the toll fee, FOX would add an additional $15 per toll as administrative fee. They "graciously" offered to provided us with unlimited tolls for an additional $11 per day. Somehow this ended up costing an additional $83.93. THIS IS A TOTAL LIE. When we asked about this from some locals, they laughed and stated you could go anywhere in the City and surrounding areas without paying a toll. Just set your GPS for no tolls. They also stated that the tolls on some major highways, 25, 225 and 70 were being waived at the current time.

THIRD: The car we were assigned was a wreck. There were so many dents, scratches, chips etc. that we couldn't put enough X's on the small piece of paper. I took photos instead. The inside showed quite a bit of wear and tear. The charge for this car came to $608.40. Original confirmation was $422.28. That's almost 50% more.

I booked the car on Expedia for the dates of May 29th til June 8 and paid Expedia on May 17th at the time of booking. When I arrived at Fox rental office on the morning of May 29th, I was told by the assisting agent, Olufemi that my assigned time of pick up, 7:15am was not available. He requested for me to sit in the lobby for 30 minutes or so until a vehicle would be ready. No problem, I was tired and a bit distraught having been on a red eye and having had no sleep. At this point, I was just going through the motions of how to best manage getting to my destination.

After the requested time was up, I again approached Olufemi, and he proceeded to begin completing the process. He asked, "do you need coverage", I said "no" (as I also did not reserve the vehicle from Expedia with coverage). He then said, "just the basic rental then?", I responded "yes". Olufemi asked if I would like to prepay fuel, I responded "yes".

I was then instructed to the pen pad for signature requirements. My eyes were blurry....Lack of sleep and clarity on the pen pad was difficult. Olufemi guided my signatures as typical agents would. I knew my car total was around $400 when I rented it so I inquired, "why does this read $500 plus?" Olufemi responded, "yes maam, the car is $400 (not exact) but you also have prepaid gas." I said, "oh yes, of course, thank you, I am sorry....I'm so tired from the flight."

Upon returning the car on June 8th, the agent alerted me the charges were $800 plus. I was confused, he then showed me on the contract where I was charged for a LDW. I never approved this, and it was snuck on my bill without my knowledge. I then approached Andrew **, where I was directed by the returning agent. Andrew was apologetic and said there was nothing he could do. He directed me to Theo **, acting manager, who also would not help me. All I got was this email. It's unclear what the manager responsibilities are if they cannot engage with a disgruntled customer who was improperly charged.

I have a history of renting through Fox, and never do I need additional coverage. Like most responsible adults, I am safeguarded through other means therefore have no need. I rented the car through Expedia without requesting additional coverage, Fox representative Olufemi should not have taken it upon himself to decide for me that it was okay to charge me for services not needed. As previously described, when asked if coverage was needed, I said no. The disguise of his response of "just the basic rental then?" was his ploy on deceitfully adding whatever he added.

I was taken advantage of and treated unfairly. The location offered no service once I realized what had occurred. I understand agents get some sort of compensation for these "upsells" and am a victim of a Fox employee fraudulently mistreating me and attempting to take my money. Please respond with how this matter can properly be corrected. I have disputed the charge with my credit card. I would like to have my charges completely reimbursed, then a properly corrected invoice/contract to be presented for me to pay what I am responsible for. I am ashamed for Fox rental car company for being so loose with their representatives' abilities to take advantage of people.

Your car was in really rough shape. I told the person who did the intake about it. The car had: metal on metal with the brake pads and the rotor, rotor was warped, tires would vibrate after 65 miles an hour, tires and rotor would shake when braking, the car did not shift properly, did not have any power unless you hit the gas hard, etc, etc.

My transatlantic flight was cancelled due to technical issues, so I got to the car rental 24h later. Fox Rent A Car had already declared a no-show on my reservation as their holdup time is max 12h, even if you alert them beforehand. They refused to update the booking and instead they charged the full amount. In essence, I was robbed the equivalent of an 8-day car rental. How is that an honest customer-oriented policy? The hotel, Home2Suits by Hilton, on the contrary, had a much smarter and honest policy. They immediately updated the reservation with the new dates when I explained the reason for the late arrival. If you want to spare yourself this kind of destructive frustration and being ripped off, please stay away from FoxRentACar and its umbrella corporation, Europcar Mobility Group.

I honestly had a really bad experience with Fox Rent A Car. I was renting a car for only three days and it said that the car was 27$ per day, my total came up to 172$ and I didn’t add any protection. I know there was a 30$ tax but it shouldn’t be that much. However, 10 minutes after my booking I tried to cancel it since I saw that something was wrong with the pricing and I couldn’t. An Expedia agent tried to help but couldn’t as well. Neither cancel or get a refund. I find this unacceptable, it's not only a money issue it's a change of plan one as well. What if we found another option and needed to cancel?

Worst rental car experience EVER! Yes, they will be cheaper than all the other companies, but if you have a problem, you not only will wait on hold for a very long time, but you will get no satisfaction. I rented one of their Jeep Wranglers for a 2 week stay, and it ended up with a Death Wobble (Google it). After many phone calls, and being sent to the wrong repair places, they finally brought me a different Jeep Wrangler. Guess what! It ALSO had a death wobble. I've since learned this is a maintenance issue with these vehicles and the death wobble is a known problem with the Wranglers. All in all, the problems ended up costing me over $300 additional dollars and NO ONE... Not ONE person who can make a decision will return a phone call of email to even discuss this. You should not rent from them, even to save a few dollars.

To be avoided at all costs. I received a price confirmation and gave half of the deposit. When I picked up the car the price charged was three, yes really three times what was confirmed. On top of that the person who served me was very unpleasant. To avoid absolutely. Even if the price seems advantageous, once on the spot it is quite different and you are not given the choice. When you just flew 8 hours you don't feel to argue. You just want the car and get off this spot. Stay away please. P.S. There no way to give no star!

Horrible first experience with Fox Rent Car. I reserved and paid for a car at Priceline with Fox Rent A Car. After one week this company charged $302.50 for cleaning fees and gas. I prepaid my gas by recommendation of the service agent, they charged $79.71 the first day. I left the car cleaned, and without damages. They sent an email with a receipt with the amount without details or itemized these charges. I called the billing department and I still waiting for an itemized statement. They abuse the good faith of people. My car was returned clean and in good condition. This company has its way to rob you. They will take your money without a reason.

This company truly does not care about its customers and I hope that this review saves someone the headache that I have had to experience dealing with them. I rented a car in Denver in May 2022. I did not discuss any add on services and had a paid reservation completed prior to arrival. The agent at the counter directed me to a screen where I entered my initials 6 times. No explanation of what for but I did not find this unusual from past dealings with rental car companies. Agent then handed me my keys and my receipt. I reviewed the receipt later to discover I was signed up for the prepaid gas fill-up upon return. It took some effort with customer service to get this reversed as I had signed for it. So my lesson is to check the receipt before leaving the desk. I assume the clerks get a commission for anything extra they can sell you. I do not know if this occurred or if it was just simply hitting a wrong button.

Although you may be tempted to use Fox because of the price, be aware the quality of service and the vehicle will suffer. I was hoping my first experience was just a coincidence, but the second time proved me wrong. The first time the vehicle was in terrible condition. The dash plastic was shattered and the car was clearly abused and the second time the usb ports didn't work and the brake pedal rubber was missing & your foot could clearly slip off. And I'm sure like most rental car companies they try to get you to pay a daily fee for tolls and I declined. What I didn't notice was the $15 administrative fee they charge me for the one toll I incurred.

I only became aware of that this second time, when I was charged $90 in administrative fees which the salesperson never mentioned. Of course, they will say it's all in the agreement you sign hastily when you're trying to get your rental and get out of there. Three things these service people can tell you AS A COURTESY and most don't! 1 - You can go to a store and buy a toll pass to avoid all of this! 2 - Never listen to them when they say you can return it empty because their gas is always more expensive! 3 - Your own car insurance WILL cover you while renting, but if you're concerned, check before you go.

While there we were asked if we wanted to prepay the gas and tolls for the week which we agreed to and 1 month later we rec a bill for 2 tolls and administrative fee because the customer service rep who wrote up the original agreement was new and did not process the paperwork correctly. DO NOT bother with this rental location or FOX RENT A CAR to save a couple of dollars. You get what you pay for I guess.

This was not disclosed to our reservation. Stuck at the airport.... Executive car rental stepped up to help us but could not return the rental to Orlando. So executive car rental helped us out by walking around to other rental companies and found us Sixt car rental. Sixt Car rental saved our trip.

Absolutely zero regard for safety. Fox Rent A Car is literally renting accidents waiting to happen. We rented our vehicle in February, only to find out when it snowed on I 70 west that the wiper pump did not operate, requiring us to stop the vehicle and squirt water on the windshield, washing it manually. Worse, the car spun out and I 70 spinning five or six times down the highway is a result of the tires having two millimeters of tread, which is completely unlawful. We could not use the rental car the entire trip as it could not make it up a small grade. Fox would not stand behind its product, and the tire companies informed us that this was common, and when Fox would advise the customer to fix the tires for them (effectively perform maintenance on the vehicles they neglected) they would stiff them. Please avoid this foreign company at all cost. There is a reason Hertz and Avis are more expensive. If you want to bring your family back home alive that is…

I paid in full my Fox Rental Car. When I got to the counter, I was told I am REQUIRED to purchase insurance if the car is in the shop because our regular car insurance doesn't normally cover this; I didn't see anywhere on Fox's website telling me this. He asked if I wanted to bring the car half full and said I'd be charged $35 which he said was $4 something a gallon. Seeing the prices out there I agreed. Upon return of the car (which I brought back half full as required), I was charged $5 something a gallon.

So between the insurance and the gas, they charged me another $230+ combined with what I had already paid. It would have been much cheaper to use the rental cars at the airport rather than taking an extra shuttle to Fox; I would have saved money at the airport rental car. Also, the car was dirty and nobody comes out with you to go over the car. It was a push-button start which I had never used. I had to ask another customer how to use the car! Never again!! The car rentals at the airport, I've always had someone walk out with me and go over the car.

Horrible first experience (and will be the last) with Fox Rent A Car. Booked several weeks out for San Antonio Airport location. A few days before departing for San Antonio we had to make flight changes due to airline strikes, which put our arrival time and rental pickup ~6 hours later. I updated online reservation and it suddenly showed vehicle would not be available, so I called them. They said no issues and compact SUV would still be available and they said they would ensure the reservation was updated. Connecting flight was delayed due to "mechanical issues", so I called Fox and advised that our flight would be delayed, but airline would not say how long, so may not make it by midnight when the rental kiosk closes.

They said I had a 6 hour grace period before reservation would expire and would update to hold reservation for next day in the event we arrived after midnight. We arrived at the rental kiosk at 11:45, ~45 minutes later than originally planned, but they said we were past our 6 hour hold time (they never adjusted from 5pm to 11pm) and our reservation expired at 11pm, so they gave our rental away. Original agreement was Jeep Compass for 10-days for $544. The guy at the kiosk said he would try to work us a deal on a Toyota Corolla...here's the kicker, he said 10-day rental for the Corolla would normally be $3,200.

I commented that I could rent a Mustang GT for that price, and he replied with "hey, supply and demand". So the great deal he was going to give us was the Corolla for 10-days for $1,200 (all this while his supervisor was standing behind him watching). I told him absolutely not, then went around the corner and Hertz hooked us up with a Kia Sorento for $401 for the 10-day rental. I will never use Fox Rent A Car or recommend anyone use these scam artists.

I told him that I did not require insurance since I am usually covered by my personal auto insurance and/or my signature credit card. I think he was upset about that, He gave me a small piece of paper and a pencil, I asked him to explain to me what I should do with that paper and he told me that I should check the car very well, because if he found any damage to the car that I had not reported at the time, I would have to face the court.

Furthermore, according to my reservation I would have a Chevrolet Equinox or a similar car. Well, I just received a Kia Soul. I arrived on a night flight, it was around 11:30PM and I was with my wife and two small kids, I just wanted to get to my hotel. My good friend Barbara ** rented an SUV from Fox with my daughter Anea as the authorized second driver for a trip to Seattle and back to Burbank. I was the passenger. Upon arriving in Seattle and pulling into the hotel's parking garage, a rear tire shredded to treadless strips of rubber. Thank God we were only going less than 5mph when this happened. Fox, displaying marked indifference to the situation, suggested no course of action other than we buy a new tire. Tires don't shred on rental cars when maintained, serviced and replaced when required. A few days later, the vehicle would not start, and the service light was on. We added more gasoline, but the car still wouldnt start. Fox offered to bring us another vehicle and pick up the old one. They did bring us a new one and towed away the first one. At no time was the vehicle in any collision or accident. Had there been a collision or accident there would of course have been a full accident report filed.

We were all shocked when Fox billed Ms ** almost $2,000 in repairs to a vehicle that was NEVER DAMAGED while in our possession. They referred to "the incident" -- there was never an incident! There was never any damage. If there were damage it could only be AFTER the vehicle was taken from us by the towing company. Wait, it gets worse. Prior to returning the vehicle to Burbank, an incident report was filed of a NO DAMAGE/NO COLLISION event at a stop light when a car slammed on its brakes in front of our vehicle. Our vehicle stopped without making any direct contact with vehicle in front. The driver of the front car, (uninsured) insisted on a report as he wanted to claim that his mother in law in the front passenger seat suffered whiplish and a dent in the right SIDE of his car (obviously preexistent) was caused by non-existent collision! His attempts obviously failed.

When the vehicle was returned to Fox there was no revelatory discovery of new damage to the vehicle whatsoever. Later, however, Ms ** was billed $1600 for repairs when there was nothing to repair as there was no new damage whatsoever to the vehicle. More than one complaint regarding these blatant fraudulent charges have been filed with the State Attorney General, and I am amazed that this company is still in business.
