I was assisted by Manual on Monday for a car rental. I rented a car from Fox and I understood that I am under no legal obligation to take your rental insurance. I have my own insurance and my credit card also offers coverage. I was told by Manuel that I had no choice but to take the insurance from Fox. He also added road side assistance. I was never offered an insurance waiver.

I had a very bad experience with this comp. I prepaid my car rental and when I got there they didn't have the car I wanted. So I got a small SUV. It costed me $9.95 a day more. After driving this car for one day the car broke down. They gave me a smaller car and nothing was done. Today I checked my credit card and found a charge of over $1000 on it. The charge should of been only $123.90. I called to dispute this but nothing was done. If you are interested Las Vegas, and renting from Fox Rental. Be carefully. I was taken with over $700, higher charges. I will let everyone know what happened to me. I am a performer in Nashville Tennessee, and come to Las Vegas to perform in spring and summer. I will never rent there again.

Do not use them! We flew into Orlando with no idea that the rental was off site. Waited 30 min for a shuttle, went in the opposite direction of my resort. American changed our flight time to 6:50am and they do not accept car drop offs until 5am. We almost missed our flight. They also uncharged and upsold any chance they got. Told me I needed to put down a 650 dollar deposit and I only got 184 of it back. Don’t be dumb like me!

NEVER EVER EVER rent vehicles from this company at the Utah airport after 11:00 p.m. My family and I had two reservations for two vehicles, my reservation was for 12:30 a.m., the shuttle had already stopped running at 12a.m. and we were simply stranded at the airport, 8 people including children. The next day, a very friendly young woman assisted us and asked me to send an email to the manager to make a claim, which I did, and I didn't even receive an apology or a refund for the inconvenience caused to my entire family. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I picked up my rental car with very little issue and the car seemed nice. The problem came the next morning when my entire AirBNB smelled like gasoline. The gas tank had a leak and had leaked in the garage. The company refused to tow it since it was drivable which seemed entirely unsafe. I was forced to travel an additional 2 hours to return it out of my way plus gas and have to clean the garage I was staying at. I tried to get some discount or customer service and they refused only offering a measly 20% discount on future rental. This will amount to about $40 which didn’t even cover my gas cost, plus I will never be renting from them again, nor will I sign off on rentals for my company through them. It will cost them most more than that. Very disappointing…

My statement sent to FoxRentACar in support of my request to have the unauthorized surcharge removed. Request denied by the FoxRentACar Billing Department. On 12 February 2025, I reserved an auto from FoxRentACar online. On the same day, I charged both the auto rental ($647.66) and the security deposit ($150) to my Discover credit card.

On 18 March, I picked up the auto in Phoenix. Once I presented my paperwork to the agent, he suggested I get a larger vehicle. I responded that the auto I requested was sufficient for my wife, myself and our one piece of luggage. The conversation was difficult because the agent was wearing a mask and both my wife and I had trouble understanding him. The agent then asked where we were traveling. I told him we were visiting friends near Flagstaff. He strongly urged us to get an all-wheel drive vehicle owing to the snow.

I told him that we had checked online and that there was no snow on the ground where we were going, and that snow had not been forecasted. I also told him that I had already stipulated my auto preferences when I reserved the car, and that I had prepaid for the auto. He then urged me to get the post-drop off gas fill option, telling me that gas price was hovering around $6 per gallon in greater Phoenix, but was only about $3.50 if FoxRentACar filled it after I returned the auto to the lot. I declined the offer.

Finally, after 20 minutes or so, the agent started telling me about insurance. I told him that I have an excellent auto insurance policy that covers me completely when I rent a car for business or pleasure. He kept pressing me, and I told him I did not need the extra coverage. He continued talking about LDW, and I kept telling him I did not want the coverage. Finally, we were presented the invoice. It clearly shows the TOTAL ESTIMATED CHARGES of $797.86, which is the amount I prepaid. I initialed the contract based on this number. Thus, after I returned the vehicle on 30 March, I was shocked to discover that I had been charged a total of $1198.51, or $550.85 more than I had prepaid. I got online and noted that my charge card had been assessed another $400.85 by FoxRentACar, Phoenix. FoxRentACar also kept my security deposit of $150.

I have rented cars my entire life, but have never encountered such egregious behavior. My wife and I feel that the Fox agent was blatantly trying to take advantage of an elderly couple by mumbling behind his mask and trying to strong arm us into getting “upgrades” that we did not need or want. In examining the FoxRentACar invoice, I still find the section on the LDV very misleading.

Like many others, I declined the extra insurance coverage at the Fort Meyers rental. For starters I even AVOIDED Fox by going through Europcar only to find out after I landed that it was in fact through Fox using Europcar as a cover. They then charged me an Extra $160 for insurance after I verbally declined. They told me to sign (assuming I was signing that I declined the coverage) only to find out they charged it anyways. PREDATORY and SNEAKY to not only force me to sign Fox’s rental even though I rented through Europcar. This should be illegal.

Booked a flight with car from Expedia for flight into Orlando airport. Was not aware that you have to be shuttled to their location. Waited almost 40 minutes for shuttle to arrive. Arrived to their location about 10 minutes from airport, check in only to be told they only accept a major credit card for a “deposit”!! My husband and I both have a debit Mastercard which can be used as credit or debit with NO problem at all other retailers. Keep in mind this booking was paid in full, so this is just to “have on record”. Salesman proceeds to say he can call another car rental and that we can call Expedia for a refund! Car rental he had come get us, had no problem using our card for deposit HOWEVER we ended not only paying 362 for the rental but also a 200 deposit, this on top on the 215 already paid when booking trip which Expedia now refuses to refund because this Fox rental says it’s in their agreement. Absolute scam! DO NOT EVER rent from this company.

I rented a car in December 2024 at DFW airport. As usual, when renting a car, I told the agent, Mirna, that I did not want any additional options including the LDW coverage. I actually told her that both my auto insurance and the credit card I was using provided the same coverage. She seemed to understand that I did not want any options. I only discovered that the LDW coverage was added when I got home. I tried contacting the rental office at DFW and also several contacts at Fox. All of my emails were ignored. I finally contacted the BBB and have gotten several replies from Fox refusing to refund the unwanted charges. I learned from Elliott Advocacy that Fox uses the "sign here" scam where you sign documents on a tablet, but what you are signing is not shown.

This is the second time that I have had unwanted options added to my contract. The first time I called Fox and they reversed the unwanted charges. I thought, at the time, that it was just the agent's error. It's apparent to me now that adding unwanted options is Fox policy and the additional profit is more valuable to them than repeat customers. I will never rent from Fox again.

We recently used Fox for a car rental in Las Vegas. There was a 40 minute wait in line. The agent used high pressure tactics to upsell our rental and add extra fees. After the process. He told us to pick any car a drive off. They had already been checked, so we didn’t have to. We climbed into 4 different vehicles until we found one that was clean enough to take. Clean enough, because it was still in need of the rear of the SUV needing vacuumed, the windshield was dirty, inside and out, and the outside mirrors had so many dried water spots that you couldn’t see out of them. As we prepared to leave the facility, the agent at the gate told us that we needed to complete a vehicle assessment form listing all damage. Contrary to what the rental agent told us.

Once on the road, we found the vehicle to have a load vibration under the hood when accelerating at highway speeds. Already an hour out of town and 10:00PM, we did not return. We also found during a snowstorm that the driver's side windshield washer didn’t work, and the passenger side ran out of fluid after using it just three times. We had to purchase a gallon of cleaner fluid to get through the snow. Now that we have returned the vehicle, there were additional charges that we did not know about. We will never use Fox again!

I rented from FOX through Priceline at San Francisco Airport. A tire blew the day after I rented. I called and since I was closer to another FOX location, they told me not to return it to SFO but to go to the closer location so I did after AAA fixed the flat. They specifically told me to return the car at SFO, not the other location. Then they charged me for returning it to SFO. They tried to charge me $400 extra for not returning it "as clean as when it was rented." Then a few months later, I got a $150 charge out of the blue on the credit card I used to rent from FOX. I had only crossed bridges in SF a few times, not $150 worth! I called FOX and asked for an invoice. FOX told me they did not have one because a separate company handled this. FOX gave me a number to call. I called that number several times. Never got through. Finally left a message. Never got a call back. FOX is a total ripoff!

They said I signed accepting the charges, despite me verbally declining, and the man at the counter implied I was signing to decline the extras.*

After reading other reviews, it is common practice for this company to lie and scam their customers and charge after the fact even when a customer has declined - doubling or tripling the initial rental cost. Avoid this company at all costs, low rental fees are just to get you in before charging you astronomical extras in fees - costing you more than booking at other companies from the start.

When we rented our car for spring break in Dallas, TX we were told that the toll would be charged to our credit card when we returned the car and to use the toll lane. "No worries". I knew we used a toll 3 times, not 7, but it is confusing when driving. Our toll usage was $7.40 cents. I was told that fee would be charged. I just got a letter in the mail, the 26th of March saying that if we didn't pay by the 22nd of March, they were going to charge our card on file for a $90 admin fee. I didn't give permission for them to charge the card. We were scammed.

I contacted the credit card company to cancel the payment and also the Department of Consumer Affairs to file a complaint. As a business owner, there is no reason that this automatic transaction takes any administrative assistance whatsoever. Other rental companies, like Hertz sell you a flat fee toll package OR charge your car for the few tolls that you use. I have NEVER in all my years of renting cars, had a company illegally charge our card for anything. The hidden fees do not offset the Expedia Gold Member Perks or VIP perks whatsoever. Go with another company and pay a little more to not get scammed.

When we went to pass through the toll, the service didn't work, and we had to pay all the tolls separately. When we returned the vehicle and told them that the service didn’t work, they said they were sorry but couldn't refund us and that they could offer a 15% discount on future rentals. I have rented cars from Orlando International Airport for years. I have never had such an awful experience like I did with Fox Rental. They need to verbally state to their rental customer’s that you will incur a $15 fee per toll that you go through, even if the toll is only $.54. You will get an insane bill in the mail with administrative charges through the roof. Your actual toll fee will be substantially less. It is the administrative charges that get racked up, and this needs to be verbally stated to the paying rental customers.

I WOULD NOT recommend this company to anybody. When the price of the rental car is less than most car companies, there is a reason why. The day we dropped off our rental, I noticed the car in front of me had expired plates (six months old). We told the renters who had no clue. What kind of car company is this?!?! Her position was that the car rental system does not align the times but clearly they knew my time was 9:30 AM pick up and that the car that was rented five days prior was not due until 1 PM.

This company is a total joke and when you call their customer service it’s people in the Philippines, which barely could understand English. Do not rent from Fox. They are the most unprofessional car rental company I’ve ever dealt with! So planning our day is not important to this company since they lack the business professionalism to notify the Customer ahead of time so much for planning our day!

We were told we couldn’t use our own E-ZPass because they automatically register the plates so if we didn’t pay the $12 a day for their service they would charge us $15 per toll even if it was a .50 toll. Corporate said no that is not true. They can deregister plate and we can use our own E-ZPass. We verified this with three different corporate agents this to be true. However, the Manager at the ORLANDO site said corporate doesn’t know what they are talking about.

But the cancel button was disabled because I spent so much time trying to figure out a solution at the counter it was past my reservation time. Also, since I purchased from Expedia I had to request from them. Expedia reached out to FOX and it was denied. I called FOX and they said Expedia never contacted them. I recently rented a vehicle and was asked at checkout if I wanted to buy a daily toll pass. Similar to other car rental companies I've rented with, I said no and that I would just pay the tolls incurred which I assumed would just be charged back directly to my invoice like other car rental companies. It was not informed to me during this conversation that Fox would be charging a $15 per toll admin fee and I ended up with a bill higher than what it cost to rent the car. I strongly feel this should have been disclosed during my conversation with the employee. Terrible customer service, it's impossible to get ahold of someone to help you after you have an issue. Also didn't receive notice about the issue until the day they charged my card.

NEVER RENT A car FROM FOX AGAIN!!!! The staff here engaged in deceptive behavior: I have reserved a car rental service (on OCT 31, 2024 to Nov 03, 2024) through the Priceline website for Fox Rent-A-Car at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Intl Airport (ATL), located at 2200 Rental Car Parkway, College Park, GA 30337, and paid $175.91. When picking up the car, a fat woman at the station gave me a form to sign, and they charged me $308.32. She told me that this amount included a $152.32 deposit and a $156.32 rental fee. She assured me that once they received the payment transfer from Priceline, this money would be refunded to me. This is the scam.

Later, when I called to inquire about this matter, I discovered the truth: the $156.32 charge was actually for additional services. However, the staff did not clearly explain this to me at the time. Their deceptive behavior was that when I questioned why I was being charged this fee, they told me it would be refunded. My mistake was not carefully reading the lengthy terms when signing because, in my past experiences renting from other companies, I never had to read such long agreements and had never been deceived before. Typically, after completing the paperwork, I would just sign. I strongly advise everyone not to rent a car from FOX because it is difficult for customers to avoid the traps and pitfalls they deliberately set. THE The staff NAME IS EMIREY.

I booked the car through Expedia. I waited in line for over 45 minutes to get the car. By the way, there were no other lines at the other rental car companies. The person who helped me was named Cynthia. She was very nice, but I feel that she lied to me. She convinced me to pre-pay the gas and I would be fully refunded for what I did not use. I have a witness (my daughter who was with me and heard her tell me this). She told me that the gas at the local gas stations was around $4.70 cents per gallon, but they would only charge me the $3.47 cents per gallon. I then asked, "well what if I fill up my tank full." Cynthia said that I would get the full amount refunded. And if I only used a few gallons, I would get the amount unused re-funded back to me. I only used 1/4 of a tank of gas. I received the vehicle with it being full on February 14th at 2:18pm. I used 1/4 a tank of gas (returned it with 3/4 tank of gas full on February 16th at 4:32pm.

Cynthia told me I would be refunded for the amount of gas that I didn't use. Getting pre-paid gas is a scam! I did not receive any refund until I contacted support and they would only refund me 1/2 of the gas charged. They would not refund me for the 3/4 of the gas that I was charged for. I was also charged for a platepass to go through the toll roads, which I am happy that I got because I didn't even see a place where you could pay a toll fee.

There are so many taxes and fees on the final invoice that I was not told I would be charged for nor did I realize I was charged for. I have never been charged so many hidden fees from other rental establishments. I agreed to pay for the Platepass and the gas I used-not other amounts like fees called: Concession, Recovery, Surcharges, Customer Facility fees, Energy recovery fees, vehicle license fees. I understand having to pay taxes, but why both Local sales tax and state tax with surcharges? So to rent a car for 50 hours, it will cost almost $300 bucks. This is a lot more than I thought that I had agreed to.

I feel deceived. I have never been scammed like this before. I called billing and they would only refund me for <$53.21> So half of the gas that I was charged for not 3/4 of the gas I should have been refunded for not using. I am not impressed with Fox at all. Your employees are either deceiving clients into paying for additional fees or they are undereducated and need more training on the charges that they are signing customers up for.

There are so many bad reviews when it comes to car rental companies but FOX is truly beyond sketch and it makes sense why the price is cheaper. I have never written a bad review for a car rental company until now. We rented a car from here and shortly after driving it on our trip we noticed a massive bulge in the wall of the tire (it could have popped any second). Thankfully we noticed it before it caused a massive car accident by popping on the interstate while it was pitch black.

Due to the late hours of the night and limited options, we had to get a used tire for the car which was $260 (for the cheapest one) then we had to get another tire on the car towards the end of our trip for another $260 to replace that one. All because we received a damaged car from the beginning. So on December 21st, 2024 we called the help desk who sent us to roadside assistance who sent us to billing and they told us they would reimburse us since it's a safety issue they created and they did not check the car before renting it to us (there was no quality check done). They told us to talk to the local office when returning it and we would get our money back for the purchased tires. Also worth noting we called them on the 26th and 27th as well.

When we returned the car, Christina (The manager) was being super difficult but said they would send our receipts to management. So we sent them early January along with all the details. No response, after several calls and 4 emails Felecia ** responded to tell us there was nothing she could do and that she gave it to Christina. We were not allowed to have Christina's phone number or email address so there is no way to follow up. What else do you do?

So we call Billing again (this is now Feb 7th, 2025) who tells us there is nothing they can do and to call the store... but the store isn't responding or answering? There is no communication from billing with their offices or help desk. Billing said they didn't even have a phone number for the stores and when asking for the manager, they said there was no manager in their office. How is there no manager? She reassured us there was no one else to talk to but her. So if you have a life threatening issue with the car, there is no way to get help or assistance. Also, I really hope no one had an orange Nissan mid sized car after us because it absolutely has a life threatening issue with it.

AVOID AT ALL COST! I'd give them 0 stars if that was an option. There are too many other excellent car rental companies to work with instead. This company CLOSES at the airport just after 12:30 AM so if your flight is delayed, you cannot get a car. The fine print is that if you do not contact them within 12 hours of your scheduled pick up time, they keep your money and expire your reservation!! For example, our flight was to arrive at 10:30 PM, was delayed and we did not arrive and disembark until 1 am. Had to spend $60 on a taxi to drive us to our hotel, arrived to our hotel at 4 am, awoke and called the company at 10:45 am because we were sleep deprived.

Despite calling only 15 minutes after their 12 hour policy they showed no flexibility and told us our reservation was expired and we were not permitted a refund!! A car company that is based out of an airport knowing flights are delayed daily should be more flexible or stay open around the clock like all the other car companies we walked past at the airport. This company robbed us of nearly a $1000 and caused serious stress. NEVER EVER AGAIN! I truly wished I had read reviews before selecting them. I hope this saves someone else from this experience. Before signing, the agent informed me that the total amount would be held as a deposit and returned after the vehicle was returned, minus any issues. I walked through a series of signatures on the tablet that included no itemized view of what I was going to be charged for. Once I received the printed receipt I had asked about the charges on the invoice, the agent had said those charges would be returned and are just a hold.

Upon reviewing my invoice after returning the car, I noticed unexpected charges with daily rates included. Despite waiting a few days for clarification, I discovered that an additional charge of $220.60 was processed on January 10, on top of the $97.38 I initially paid on January 5. This charge is entirely unauthorized and unacceptable. I did not approve any additional services or charges beyond the rental agreement. I requested that Fox Rental take immediate action to refund the $220.60 to my account. I've escalated this matter with my credit card issuer to dispute the charge.

After I returned my rental car, I received a receipt of 521.75, in which $379.42 is the rental car add-on that I have no knowledge about that was charged to my credit card. After checking my credit card account, those charges are real charge and are not temporary credit card hold like Christina said. This transaction process is a scam and a very bad business practice, which is totally unacceptable. In addition, I am being charged 6 times on airport shuttle fees when I only used the shuttle two times, to and from the airport. The pressure tactics, the lies, and doesn't let customers see what they are signing into lure customers on purchases of all the rental car add-on are unacceptable. I won't be going back to Fox Rent A Car ever again. Based on thousands of reviews on the internet complaining the same things on bad business practices and tactics that Fox Rent A Car used, it is recommended not go to with this rental car company.

TL;DR Fox Rent A Car refused to add my spouse as an additional driver because we have different last names. Fox rent a car does not deserve a 1-star rating. I wish Customer Affairs had negative ratings for companies like this. Fox rent a car seems to be running a bait and switch business model based on my experience.

THE DETAILS! I've had several issues with fox rent a car and always gave them a chance, but they never cease to disappoint and only get worse. Yesterday (November 27th, 2024), my spouse and I rented a car, before booking, I carefully read their policies: the additional driver policy (spouse can be added at no cost if present with a valid license), cancellation policy (no cash refund, $50 fee, in-store credit for “pay now” option), and payment policy (name on CC must match reservation and driver).

Everything seemed fine, so I proceeded with the reservation. When picking up the car, I tried to add my spouse as an additional driver, only to be told we couldn’t because we have different last names. I pointed out that this wasn’t in the policy I had read (see policy attached). They claimed it was their policy, but it wasn’t stated anywhere, and they couldn’t provide proof when I asked. I asked if proof of marriage was needed, and they replied, "No, as long as you have different last names, you'll have to pay extra to add your spouse. It's our policy." I asked if we had the same last name and address but weren’t married, would we be considered married and add her at no cost. She replied, "it’s our policy to “have the same last name”. WHAT? We are legally married! Are they inventing policies to take advantage of people, especially during the holiday season when rentals are in high demand? This is absurd!

Please, do yourself a favor and avoid fox rent a car at all costs. Don’t be fooled by their cheap rates/deals. Pay a little extra for better customer service and peace of mind. From my experience, fox rent a car couldn’t care less about their customers—they see us as just another way to make money. As many others have noted, the desk clerks can be shockingly rude, dismissive, and uninterested in helping. If something goes wrong, their default response is always, “It’s our policy. Sorry, nothing I can do.” They clearly don’t care about resolving issues because they know someone else will take the car if you don’t. On top of that, there’s a major focus on squeezing out extra money through extra charges, hidden fees, and citing questionable policies designed to justify the charges. Be prepared for unexpected costs at pickup—or better yet, save yourself the frustration and take your business elsewhere.

When we were told that we needed to have the same last name to add my spouse at no cost, we were understandably frustrated and disappointed. However, the clerk remained completely unfazed. She simply kept repeating, "It's our policy, there's nothing we can do," with a tone that was not only unapologetic but also dismissive and offensive. It was clear she had no regard for the inconvenience or frustration we were experiencing and was ready to move on to the next customer in line to exploit. I’ve attached a copy of the Terms and Conditions, which are the same ones fox rent a car emailed us. Nowhere in these terms does it specify that my spouse and I need to have the same last name in order to add her at no additional cost.

When I went to pick up the car, not only was I disappointed it was FOX, but I was told there would be a $500 dollar credit card hold. I was a little taken aback as I usually pay $200-$250. I canceled my reservation and went with another rental company. Fox continued to deny and wouldn't offer another car at the same price. The fox agent then offered a lower priced car with another agency, didn't give the business name but said they'll pick us up in 5 mins. Very weird and sketchy. We ended up going back to the airport and rented from the terminal. Still haven't received a refund.

First of all, instead of the sedan we rented we were given a gas guzzling SUV. They did not clean the outside or the inside of the vehicle. There was mud on the back seat and crumbs on the passenger front seat. There was no windshield wiper fluid either so they were not maintaining the vehicle either. I would not recommend renting from FOX. Customer service is the worse.

I was charged $214.47 through booking.com then when I returned car (no damages, full tank) I was charged an additional $423.56. This is even with me declining any additional coverages.

I was so intimidated by rep at pick up when rep physically bypass the sign screen himself anytime I would try to read what I was signing. He would just say I was declining the extra coverages then had me initial again (paper copy) next to the “declined coverages” just to find out when I returned car I got scammed and what that really meant was me agreeing to additional coverages. Booking's customer service did absolutely nothing. Fox Billing Department couldn’t even explain what their basic insurance covers. I was declined to speak to manager during the call and was told one would call in 48 hrs after I kept insisting but never heard back.

Fox Rent-A-Car is an absolute disaster, and I would give them ZERO STARS if I could. Not only did they fail to provide the service I paid for, but they also LIED to my credit card company to avoid refunding me the $571.12 they owed me. This company is a SCAM, and their shady practices are NOTHING SHORT OF THEFT.

I initially booked an 11-day car rental on May 4th, 2024, for $571.12, for a trip starting June 20th to check on my BLIND, WIDOWED 75-YEAR-OLD AUNTIE with STAGE 4 CANCER. But due to my auntie’s EMERGENCY ROOM VISIT—the third in just four months—I had to change my June 2024 travel dates. Fox Rent-A-Car REFUSED to apply my credit to the new reservation on THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS: June 3rd, June 9th (when I needed to extend my rental), and July 16th when I was returning for my auntie’s 75th birthday party.

As a SURVIVOR OF THE 2023 LAHAINA WILDFIRES, I had just moved back to Lahaina June 2024 and was adjusting to unforeseen traffic problems caused by debris removal, road maintenance, and other issues beyond my control. Normally, I allow plenty of time—I like to arrive 2 to 2.5 hours before flights to avoid stress because I HATE being late. My professional and personal life revolves around making and showing up for appointments on time. This was the FIRST TIME I had ever missed a flight in my 50+ YEARS OF TRAVELING.

On July 16th, I missed my flight due to a PERFECT STORM of road closures: trucks removing wildfire debris, BOULDERS on the road, and lane closures for guardrail repairs. Despite this, I CALLED FOX RENT-A-CAR IMMEDIATELY to inform them I would be 24 hours late and requested they hold my reservation. Instead of helping me modify it, they FORCED ME TO CANCEL and charged me an additional $26 to rebook. However, after 36 minutes on the phone—including MULTIPLE HOLDS—they claimed they were able to use their computer to cancel the reservation, but they couldn’t process the new booking due to "computer problems" and "dynamic pricing." They told me to rebook online, but I tried for HOURS with NO SUCCESS.

After hours of dealing with their INCOMPETENT and RUDE customer service—which seems to be outsourced to a call center where ENGLISH IS A SECOND LANGUAGE—they HUNG UP ON ME MULTIPLE TIMES. This left me STRANDED WITHOUT A CAR during a FAMILY EMERGENCY! When I finally arrived at their rental location, they claimed there was NO RESERVATION under my name, said they were OUT OF CARS, and REFUSED TO HONOR MY CREDIT with their sister company. They tried to charge me OVER $750 FOR FEWER DAYS THAN I ORIGINALLY BOOKED—$250+ MORE than I had already paid—and told me I’d have to come back the next day to pick up a car! My destination was 40 MINUTES FROM THE AIRPORT without traffic.

When I REQUESTED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR, I was pressured into accepting the INFLATED PRICE and then HUNG UP ON AGAIN when I refused. By the time I arrived at my brother’s house after midnight, the online price had INCREASED TO $978.80—NEARLY DOUBLE MY ORIGINAL RESERVATION COST.

To make matters worse, Fox Rent-A-Car LIED TO MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY (Hawaiian Airlines Bank of Hawaii World Elite Mastercard through Barclays). They falsely claimed they refunded $500 of my $571.12 on May 4th, 2024. THIS WAS A COMPLETE LIE! The $500 was a SEPARATE DEPOSIT CHARGE that was returned in a different transaction and had NOTHING to do with the $571.12 rental fee that was NEVER REFUNDED. Despite providing CLEAR EVIDENCE from my Barclay statement (the only credit card I use to earn travel points), which showed the $500 deposit charge and return, my credit card company sided with Fox Rent-A-Car. They claimed my dispute was only for $71.12 because "services were rendered."

Fox Rent-A-Car repeatedly offered me credit but FAILED EVERY SINGLE TIME to let me use it. The final blow was being ABANDONED AT THE AIRPORT, FEELING UNSAFE, DURING A FAMILY EMERGENCY, without a car and without help from their so-called customer service. Their credibility is beyond repair. It feels like being TRAPPED IN AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP that you’re forced to return to again and again.

I am BEYOND FURIOUS with this company’s behavior. They have held over $500 of my money for MONTHS without delivering any service or resolution. This kind of PREDATORY BEHAVIOR is exactly why customers need to avoid this company AT ALL COSTS. This is CORPORATE GREED AT ITS WORST! Fox Rent-A-Car feels entitled to KEEP MY MONEY without providing service, and they LIE ABOUT REFUNDS. It’s absolutely DISGUSTING that even my credit card company has been misled by their deceit.

Let’s not forget: Fox Rent-A-Car is now owned by EUROPCAR MOBILITY GROUP, one of the largest car rental companies in Europe. Europcar proudly claims to have entered the U.S. market by acquiring Fox Rent-A-Car, one of the largest independent car rental companies in America. If this is how Europcar operates in Europe, CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE WARY ON BOTH CONTINENTS! It seems they’ve only brought their CORPORATE GREED and DECEPTIVE PRACTICES into the U.S., leaving customers like me STRANDED and out HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.

I don’t know about you, but I’m TIRED OF BEING SCAMMED by greedy corporations like this—taking money from hard-working people, FAILING TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE PROMISED, and then LYING ABOUT IT! If you value your time, money, and sanity, STAY FAR AWAY FROM FOX RENT-A-CAR AND EUROPCAR MOBILITY GROUP!

I would advise everyone to stay away and don't be lured in by their low prices because they will end up charging you 10 times more at the end. I was in Tampa for a funeral and had the car a total of 35 hours. I prepaid for the car but had to leave a credit card number for the security deposit. When I returned the car, everything was fine but the next day Fox Rent A Car charged my card a total of $539.66 for cigarette smell in the car and fuel. However, I had filled up the car and provided a receipt and I don't smoke, have never smoked and I am allergic to smoke. I would have definitely noticed a smoke smell in the car and would not have been able to drive it when I picked it up. I have contacted billing numerous times because the Tampa office cannot be contacted directly.

The billing department said they forwarded my dispute to the Tampa manager who denied the dispute and will not credit the charge. This seems like a scam to me because everything was fine when I returned the car but someone decided to charge me $539.66 and I have no recourse. I can't even talk or email a manager directly only the billing department with representatives who I can barely understand. Maybe someone will contact me from this review. I explained the emergency, and the person behind desk said she would see if there was another car available. She found one, apologized for not seeing it as an option previously, and started the paperwork.

After I signed everything and we were about to head out, I noticed the price was way more than the price I originally got. She said the new car was an upgrade (it wasn't). I didn't have time to argue, again we had an emergency, but I was told someone from company would call me to rectify, no one did. I recently retired from managing an area of the US for a national Corp and was on my way to San Diego for a vacation and to help my 92 year old mother in law. I had prepaid in full for a car at Fox Car Rental San Diego Airport. The charge seemed high 406 dollars plus 150 deposit, but I assumed it was normal for California pricing being a little higher. Then after waiting in a long line I was mistreated by a rep who was by herself and totally stressed out. She was the rudest customer service person I have ever met. She kept trying to upsell me on their insurance!!! I told her my credit card covers her vehicle and she kept insisting I buy insurance and other upsell items. She even misrepresented herself and Fox by telling me that I have to buy their insurance for liability coverage.

At that point, I let her know I was aware that everyone’s car insurance covers basic liability on any car that person drives and I felt like she knew about liability coverages and was trying to deceive me. She then threatened me with cancellation. Well she had me sign all the docs and then I let her know I didn’t appreciate her coming at me trying to “nickel and dime” me to raise my bill! OMG
She cancelled my reservation then and said she would call her manager and let her know she was cancelling my reservation!!! I said I would like to speak with the manager thinking that I Would get to tell my side of of this horrible transaction to a more reasonable person and come to a resolution. She had my wife and I wait on the side of her office against the wall, as she kept working and 5 minutes later she gets a phone call from her manager to approve cancelling and hung up.

The rep then told us the manager would not come to talk to us and told us to leave. Wow
As a long time mgr, I always met with customers who were upset with our reps or had an issue with the company!!! I was shocked and have never had a company been so aggressive. This Rep was not accommodating but combative and it is not a very good look for tourists coming to visit San Diego!
Good news is I went two doors over to Thrifty and Dollar Rental. No Line!!! Walked up to counter and the Rep was so sweet and friendly. First thing she said was Welcome to San Diego! She gave us a new Camry for the week at the price of a smaller car and it was only 263 dollars. When I told her I had insurance she was very helpful and friendly. Great customer service at Thrifty/Dollar Rental San Diego Airport. All I can say is the location there is the best for service, pricing, and time. We had our car in 10 minutes from when we walked in their door.

Do NOT USE Fox Rental at least in San Diego!!!! Do so at your own risk. You may get lucky but most likely not. I can’t speak about other Fox Agencies, just can attest to how bad San Diego is run!!
Not over yet, Fox has not refunded my money yet and even though they cancelled my reservation, when I called billing they said that only the deposit and taxes was refunded and they needed to “investigate” to make a “decision” on refunding my money for something I never received. So I can definitely witness to the fact that also the billing policy at Fox is definitely a nightmare and I may have to go to court to get my money back and file with BBB. Honestly I have never had a bad experience like this and I can only warn others so they don’t have a similar nightmare experience to complicate their lives!

The rep then told us the manager would not come to talk to us and told us to leave. Wow.

As a long time mgr, I always met with customers who were upset with our reps or had an issue with the company!!! I was shocked and have never had a company been so aggressive. This Rep was not accommodating but combative and not a very good look for tourists coming to visit San Diego! Good news is I went two doors over to Thrifty and Dollar Rental. No Line!!! Walked up to counter and the Rep was so sweet and friendly. First thing she said was Welcome to San Diego.

Do at your own risk. You may get lucky but most likely not. I can’t speak about other Fox Agencies. Just can attest to how bad San Diego is run!! Not over yet, Fox has not refunded my money yet and even though they cancelled my reservation when I called billing they said that only the deposit and taxes was refunded and they needed to “investigate” to make a “decision” on refunding my money for something I never received. So I can billing policy at Fox is definitely a nightmare and I may have to court to get my money back and file with BBB. Honestly I have never had a bad experience like this and I can only warn others so they have a nightmare experience to complicate their lives!

We had the exact same experience at Phoenix (PHX) as "Rani **, CA" (see review dated 8-14-2024). We had a prepaid 4-day rental at PHX via Priceline. While we don't mind paying added taxes, the counter agent added 'loss damage waiver' and their 'fuel refill' charge even though we verbally declined (only spouse as witness). They use a tiny digital signature pad so you can't read what you are agreeing to upon signing, you presume the agent is marking what you asked for. After the rental Fox charged us $147.97 for those items even though we returned full of gas. I requested a refund from Fox directly and that request was declined citing the signed agreement. I suspect the agents get a reward for these add-ons. Examine the printout before leaving the counter!

    I will NEVER rent from them again. (1) The checkin/car pick up experience was awful and took over an hour (they don’t offer pre-checkin so you can go straight to your car); (2) customers (not their staff) are responsible for marking on a drawing all possible damage they see on the car before they leave with the vehicle; (3) they use bait and switch pricing and say unlimited miles but when I checked in there was a restriction on distance and only driving in the pickup state and the state to the left and right, and if you breached that, there would be a crazy penalty fee charged (I believe $1,000) and they use gps to track where the car goes;

    (4) I had to extend my stay twice for a family issue and it was really hard to reach anyone in customer service to do that; and (5) when extending, they charge you the normal daily/weekly rental rate + a penalty for extension + a per day extension fee on top of the normal rate. I’ve shared the experience with a few friends and they each had similar experiences and none of us will ever use them again.

He confirmed my request.

I was then asked to both sign and initial on a iPad which was sideways so had no chance of seeing what was on the screen but like most renters trusted the agent and just want to get the car and get on the road! FOX FRAUDULENTLY CHARGED ME $464.35 AND $2,839.98 AFTER I ALREADY PAID THROUGH PRICELINE $293+$116 FOR AN EXTRA DAY. My flight was delayed 3 times, so I got there at 11:30+/- instead of 9:00+/- pm. I tried calling them during delays, but couldn't get through. This was in Seattle and I had to do a lot of driving, by myself, so I obviously reserved the smallest car possible. Well, they gave my reserved car away at my reserved price and left me with an 8-seater, 3 row, Wagoneer that I could barely drive, and said it was $300/night instead of the $54/night. What?!! The lady at the desk agreed to only charge $99/night and it was now one less night, so about $240 that I paid right there. The car was horrible, enormous, wouldn't fit anywhere and got 10 mpg!! I had to park at the parking garage across from my hotel downtown Seattle.

When I came back to leave, a person was now parked on either side and I couldn't get the car out of the space. The front end almost immediately touch the car to the right, or take off the bumper of the car to the left. So I couldn't use the car for a day and a half and had to get an Uber for $100/day, WHILE SPENDING $100 per day on the Wagoneer. When I finally got it out, I had missed doing all the things I had stayed for the weekend to do. So I called Priceline and asked how much to extend one day, they called Fox and they said $116, so again, I paid right then over the phone. Then the next day, before I went to park it for the last time, I filled the gas, which was half a tank and it cost over $75!!! I parked it and when I got up the next morning to drive to the airport, I couldn't find the key. That was my only mistake. It is a $250 charge, I accept that. So I had to leave the car and get a $80 Lyft to the airport.

I immediately started calling Fox to tell them to go get the car. For 3 days straight, they passed me from person to person, hanging up on me, taking my number and not calling me back. So it was 4 days until their Roadside assistance called me back. I told them the issue and they went and got it. They said it would be $110 towing fee, and I said okay. So they have told me in total $250 for lost key charge and $110 tow fee, so $350 would be charge to me. Instead, they charged my card $464.35 AND $2,163.46, which included all rental nights at $300, a refueling fee when I had not driven it since I filled it up for $75 the night before, and just a ton of other charges, duplicating all of the charges I already paid. They are a dishonest, opportunistic, unethical company, and I am taking this to court.

Do Not EVER rent from Fox. I plan to contact a government oversight agency to file a formal complaint against this company. I rented a car from Fox in the Phoenix, Arizona area in March 2024. Fox charged me for an 8-day rental when I was only in Phoenix for 4 days. At first, I thought this was an oversight on the company's part, but Fox reproduced paperwork showing the rental was kept for 8 days. I had documentation of my flight itinerary showing my time in Phoenix and returning home after 4 days.

My feelings about being scammed have been validated after reading these reviews. I read reviews before renting from Fox but this thread did not come up. The rental horror stories sound very familiar to me. Upon arrival at the reservation counter, I was told I would be given a car smaller than I had reserved, so I had to pay for an upgrade. I was told a hold would be placed on my card and refunded related to unnecessary insurance coverage, late fees were charged, and the price billed to my credit card was double the contracted amount. I am still going back and forth with my credit card company and Fox Rent a Car.

Let's put them out of business. It is not worth the risk. Do not trust the employees at the counter! Please note this rental company is not open 24 hrs and they will not wait for extra time after hours even if you inform them you are going to be late. I booked the car for pickup time before 1am 14th July 2024. Our flight was delayed and we informed the rental company customer service over the phone call about the delay. The customer service staff made a note of it, informed me they sent a notification to the branch about the delay. The customer service staff also informed us it is up to the branch staff if they want to wait for extra time. We landed in Denver, took a cab and reached the branch after 1am (they close at 1am) but unfortunately no one wanted to wait for us because it is not mandatory.

I came back in the morning, was greeted by a employee and then started the actual business. They asked me which places are we going to visit and then he tried to upgrade us to a AWD (extra 200$) which we denied. He then added some employee discount which he should have done initially before we denied the upgrade for the first time and tried to push us for an upgrade again to AWD for 100$. We denied this too. Now comes another one into picture called protection. The staff tried to scare us and pushed us to add protection. We didn’t have enough time to think about this and opted for basic protection. Later we came to know it is not needed as our current auto insurance covers that.

Now comes the interesting one. The staff member offered us to sell the gas for cheaper price (3.39$) to fill the car’s gas tank. The staff member said “Hey I can offer you gas for a cheaper price than outside and you don’t need to fill the gas tank when are you returning the car”. We denied it because we already knew the gas price is lesser than 3.05 in many places in Denver.

After all this discussion he just gave us the car key and asked me to find the car myself. I found the car, opened it and I smelled cigarette smoke. I was surprised the staff did not care to check the car before giving it to us. I went back to the help desk and met a different person because the guy who helped us first was not available. When I informed him about the car’s condition he was clearly not happy for some reason and finally gave us a different car. Note : Before going to this place to pick up the car please check with your insurance team about the coverage and don’t spend extra money here.

I asked them if they made note on my file that I called and requested it to be removed/refunded and they did state that it was clearly on my file. So the day i retuned my vehicle I called the billing dept and they stated they had to escalate this matter - it was escalated and weeks went by I never heard back, after calling a number of times I was told they would get in contact with via email. As another work week went by I called back and they said it was denied by the manager. FOX Rental was by far the most unprofessional company I have dealt with but will never deal with again. I will begin to spread my experience now across the numerous sites for review in hopes to help another travel weary family make a better decision when it comes to the numerous rental companies available! So I was lied to, told a service was "Mandatory" than promised a resolve and then declined. Worst Rental Company so far.

My wife and I recently moved to North Carolina, where we had just received our new Real ID licenses. For a trip to Texas, my wife made reservations with Fox. When we went to pick up the car, their ID scanning equipment rejected our licenses and they refused to rent us the car. They told us they could accept a passport to verify our identity (and let us drive their car with what they believed to be an invalid license?!!) (This, at an airport location where we had to pass through TSA.). They said we could go to another rental desk, where they had more basic scanning methods, but every other agency had zero cars available. Fox had NO protocol for handling this situation - abysmal service!

My suspicion is that they knew they could rent our reserved car to some other customer at a higher rate, and they could not care less about the predicament they put us in. We ultimately were able to get a car from Hertz, where they had a scanning machine that appeared to be similar to Fox’s (in addition to the infrared device that shows the holograph on the card). Hertz’s machine said my license checked out fine. Will avoid Fox in the future.

I saw people turned away because they only allow payment with a credit card, even though it is misleading on the website, and says debit or credit. Some were told it’s left to the “manager's discretion”. I myself tried to speak with a manager however, I talked to someone on the phone. First off, I made this reservation 2 months in advance and the car wasn't ready on time, I had to wait longer for the car to be ready and I get the wrong vehicle. I understand that it is a holiday weekend but you would think that someone that makes a reservation well ahead in advance will get the vehicle that they selected. Second, the customer service at the office is terrible. They come across inconsiderate and definitely seemed like they didn't want to be there. The people that gave me the car didn't listen to my request that I am being given a wrong car. They said that is all they have, as I am looking at an SUV in the lot (they gave me a truck). They added insurance, when I said no.

Thirdly, you would think that since I had to wait that the car would be in tip top shape. Well, the inside was not clean and the windshield wiper fluid was low (after 2 uses of it). Go with a known and established rental car company. Do not let the low prices impact your decision. You will definitely save the headache by choosing Hertz or Enterprise. We had to take a shuttle to the rental place since it was located far from the airport. Upon arriving at the agency, we were told that there were no included was 408 full size cars and the only option was a Mid size SUV.

Usually, in these circumstances, any agency in our previous experience had offered us at the same price as the full size. But Fox has charged us for the price of a mid size SUV, while we actually booked a full size. When asked if there is any possibility that the cars would be available later, they did not assure us, in which case we were forced to rent the SUV. Later, when we called the customer service, after 25 min of call, we were not given any option, neither to return the SUV and swap it with a full size car, nor adjusting the amount to the requested full size car price since there was no mistake of ours. All they offered was a 10% on the total rental charge, i.e. $13, while the taxes and other charges, together was $408 vs $278 for a full size that we actually booked earlier. To top it all the customer service agent in the office was very rude in responding to our questions.

I would give a 0 star review if possible. Where do I start? First, we had an awful wait time for your shuttles, we waited 45 mins outside the airport. Also, online did not say off-site, Fox is listed as an MCO rental car company, but it's a 10 min drive from the airport. We heard employees telling customers the shuttles run every 10 mins however this is not true and it wasn't just us, everyone on our shuttles to and from the airport were complaining about their wait time as well... Once at the rental place we were never told of a deposit fee or toll pass fee, online it says your final cost after taxes and fees. This is also not true. They said we have a $150 deposit and have to pay $14/day toll pass, if we don't pay for the toll pass they keep your $150 deposit and charge you the maximum ticketed price per toll!

After waiting 45 mins for the shuttle then agreeing to all the extra payments we finally go to the vehicle. The seats were so stained there were scratches all over the back, which whatever, didn't matter too much to us. We start the vehicle and the front and back tire pressure on the passenger side were so low a light was flashing on the dash! This was a 4Runner SUV so pressure should be around 45ish. They were at 18 and 22!! We saw an employee walking by, we told her about the tires. She couldn't really communicate with us well and said she doesn't usually do this, but could add air. My husband offered to do it but she said no. She was very friendly and it was nice of her to do however, it took over 10 mins to put air in 2 tires. At this point we were so frustrated and ready to start our vacation.

The finalize this nightmare car rental my husband had to spend time (and although less than $10) and money on our vacation to add air into the tires throughout our stay!!! This is completely unacceptable! I still feel we are owed for this horrible experience, but as terrible of a company this seems to be, I’m sure I'll never hear from them. Rented a Jeep from their Ontario CA airport offsite location from 3/21 through 3/28. While picking up the Jeep the Fox representative did the standard upsell for insurance/gas/toll road options and we optioned to pre-pay for gas and toll. The rep we had a toll road account and that we would place the vehicle on our account as we knew we would be using the toll roads for an early appointment.

The rep made comment about "if that works" when I said I'd use my account knowing it wouldn't. What I learned that the toll roads will use the license plate to charge my account UNLESS the car has a transponder associated with an account. The Jeep did have a transponder to Fox charges a $15 admin fee for each loop you pass through. If you're going to Disneyland from Riverside that is 3 different loops each way. This is their scam. All the reps know the plate will not be scanned and the customer will get charged $15/scan with a max of $90/day all while I think the charge is going to my account. THEY ARE SCAMMING CUSTOMERS WHO USE THE TOLL ROADS. They have a whole dept to handle complaints after the fact where you find out the truth. WILL NOT USED FOX AGAIN OR EUROCAR THEIR OWNERS.

When we got to the counter, they forced us to buy insurance that we did not need since we are covered under our personal auto insurance. We had to fight with them when returning the car to get the money refunded after we spoke to their billing department who agreed that we did not need to purchase separate insurance. After all this, they still held back one day of the insurance cost, because we did not get a chance to talk to billing until the next day (like that was something we should have known). Plus, they charged us twice for the car as we paid for the rental through a third party. That was another thing we had to fight with them on when we returned to the airport to return the car (and while we were trying to get to our flight). Stay away from this company.

Waited 30 minutes at Fox Rental which was in an alternate location from airport in Las Vegas. The customer service guy told us our reserved Kia Sportage (or similar) was not all wheel drive (which we assumed since it was an SUV) so we spent $212 more (after $678) on an upgrade. We selected a Toyota 4Runner. On the road, we found no windshield cleaning fluid, tire pressure was low, out of alignment symbol was lit up and "oil maintenance required" light came on. My girlfriend and I were on remote roads in Utah and were quite concerned about the possibility of low oil. Called Fox and was told we'd be reimbursed if we get oil and put it in.

We were at Bryce Canyon National Park, headed toward Moab on remote Highway #12. When I pushed, they said we could take it to a service station in Moab. We would've had to give up a pre-paid 8 hour tour of Arches and Canyonlands ("Moab in a Day") and lose our money. We had no other choice but to just hope everything was OK. My friend was quite anxious about it. When we returned it at Phoenix Airport, I sought out a manager to discuss our issues. He was at lunch. They took my phone number as we had to catch our flight but he never called. After several calls after returning home, the best they could do was give us 20% of our upgrade cost ($42.59). We paid $891 for a vehicle that was not adequately maintained, one that we did not feel safe in. I DO NOT recommend Fox Rental! I've never had any issues with other vehicles I've rented. Our vehicle was not maintained appropriately and we felt unsafe.

Typical bait and switch.. Reserved a Camry. Got there at 9 am. Said all they had left for me was a Scion box car and only had the one. If I wanted to upgrade... Said would be an additional $10 per day. Paid the $110 on my credit card. Returned the car early and received an $8.01 refund. Well when inquiring why my $150 deposit wasn't returned to my card after being back for 3 weeks..Said they kept the 150 for the 110 upgrade and the extra 40 was for the taxes. Funny how they knew on 3/14 that on 4/2 I was going to have 110 in upgrades with 40 in taxes 10 days before I even picked the car up and a 300 dollar rental went to 554 with all their fees and the 110 had 40 dollars of fees.. This has happened Twice! Fox returning deposits is a joke. I've had to get Capital One involved on both occasions. I initially PAID for the rental and deposit in advance, Feb. 2024. My trip was in April 2024. I had a issue on my first card so Cap One sent me out a new card. I informed Fox, calling first and was told that it would be taken care of when I arrived. I now have a new card to present at the counter, Fox charged me TWICE, telling me that they are NOT ABLE to move the $415.00 I already PAID on my first card. In other words, after speaking with Fox's Accounting office they had the GALL to tell me that the first deposit was placed back on my "first card", one that Cap One closed!

I called Cap One explaining this mess and they put the money right back on my card and took up the dispute with Fox Car Rental. NOW I'm waiting on my NEW CARD, the $150.00 deposit they promised me would be back on my card within 48 hours. That was 8 days ago now. FOX CAR MAY HAVE CHEAP PRICES, BUT THEY HAVE THE MAKINGS OF VERY GOOD SCAM ARTISTS! The BBB should take notice.

This evening, March 30, 2024, I arrived at Fox rental company in Burbank, CA to pickup the compact vehicle I had rented and paid in full. Upon my arrival, I was told that they had Dodge Charger that they upgrade me into as they no longer had any compact cars available. I advised them that the reason I rented a compact vehicle was because I wanted a vehicle that was gas efficient and a Dodge Charger with a Hemi engine really burns a lot of gasoline. They also offered me a Van. I told them that I didn't need a van, as a van was not gas efficient either. They apologized and said that I could pay additional money if I wanted to upgrade to a vehicle that was more energy efficient.

I spoke to the supervisor on the telephone and she was no help. She just said the same thing. I rented a car from this company a few weeks ago and they made me take the Dodge Charger with the Hemi engine, as the type of vehicle I rented was no longer available. Seems to me that this particular location or company has a pattern of making their clients take cars that from their lot that they didn't want in the first place. I have rented many vehicles from other rental car companies and am appalled that this company forced me to pay an additional $25 to rent a vehicle that is somewhat energy efficient. It's not the money per se, it's just bad business. Normally, other car rental companies apologize that they don't have the type of vehicle you rented and they make it right by upgrading you. Do not rent from Fox Rent A Car, they take advantage of customers. Check your rental agreement before signing anything. They do not call you back, nor respond to your request, unless something happens to the vehicle. I rented a car from Fox in Las Vegas on 3/24/24 for a two day rental, the rental was $40 for two days. I told the agent that I have my own insurance and did not want theirs. He added the insurance in and told me to sign here, here and here and pick any car from lot 6. That agent did not explain anything to me when it came to the insurance, but he said okay when I said I have my own insurance and did not want theirs and then he said okay. He flat-out lied, if this is the way Fox Rent-A-Car does business, it is very unprofessional and rude.

The insurance cost me $13.98 for roadside assistance, $34.00 for rental liability and $61.98 for loss damage waiver totaling $109.96 that I did not need because I have rental coverage and roadside assistance. I spoke with the billing department and they do not understand your complaint and always say “I’m sorry for the inconvenience but unfortunately…”. I got tired of the verbatim from each person so I requested to speak with a supervisor and she said they were all unavailable, WOW. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM FOX EVER AGAIN.
