I have to agree with the multiple previous reviews. Fox Rental Car charged me more than I agreed to pay on my reservation. I asked both the representative behind the desk and representative in the garage who gave me the keys if the price remained the same as on my reservation. Both representatives confirmed Yes. They demand your signature on a little screen about 4x4 inches in size so you can't read it properly.

There was nobody there when I returned the car. Therefore I could not get checked out or get a receipt. I only discovered the increased price when I reviewed my credit card charges. I called their helpline but that representative was also unhelpful. Consumer Affairs is correct in stating that Fox Rental Car may offer low prices but they make it up on the back end by charging what they want. It's a classic bait and switch. I fly for business every month and will not be utilizing Fox again until they remedy the problem.

Never had a poor rental car experience in all our years of travel before Fox. If it were not for the friendly shuttle drivers it would be a zero rating. In Ontario CA it is NOT located at the airport, two shuttles later we were pressured into purchasing insurance that we had already purchased through Expedia in a package. Car was sketchy, ran and shifted very rough, large tear in the fabric of the door, no mats, good thing we barely drove it. Saving a few bucks costs us.. Was contacted for a review by the local manager, she was going to look into our concern. No reply. Avoid the frustration!!!

I got into an accident on my first day of rental. I followed up with my car insurance and Fox to learn my next steps. Fox gave me conflicting information. On-call representatives asked me to bring my car to a designated lot, not the location where I picked up the car. I order a tow and the tow company shares that the LOT WAS LOCKED AND CLOSED. Tow company has no choice but to stow the car and TOW AGAIN the next day. I had to call Fox repeatedly to confirm the lot would be open.

On the day of the accident, I also confirmed with my car insurance that I would only be responsible for the deductible. Months later, I received a letter saying I owe thousands of dollars. I called my car insurance and they shared FOX completed repairs that were NOT RELATED to the accident, therefore my car insurance wouldn't cover those costs. I asked FOX for an itemized receipt of all repairs and their representative ONLY PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE DOCUMENT. I had less than a month to figure out what was going on, and the FOX representatives kept harassing and threatening me for money, urgently. What's the difference between a SCAM and FOX??

I will give zero star, stay away from this place. I will give zero stars. I prepaid approximately $360 through Priceline for a 4-day car rental, expecting that to be the total cost as advertised. However, when I returned the vehicle, I was unexpectedly charged an additional $300 for the same rental period. I was later told these extra charges were for insurance, roadside assistance, and other add-on services. I did not request, authorize, or agree to any of these services. At the rental counter, I explicitly stated that I did not want any additional coverage or add-ons, since my credit card already provides rental insurance coverage.

At no point was a contract clearly presented or explained to me regarding these additional charges. These fees were not transparently disclosed and effectively doubled the price compared to the advertised booking price, which is extremely concerning. This experience strongly suggests hidden charges and misleading pricing practices. Customers should be able to rely on the price they are quoted when booking a rental car.

I have requested a full review of my rental agreement and a refund for all unauthorized add-on services. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will proceed with disputing the charges with my credit card company and filing formal complaints with relevant consumer protection agencies. I hope the company will take this issue seriously and correct the charges.

The person at the counter was very arrogant. My card did not work. He was not going to rent me a car and it was late at night. He said everything was my fault. After 10 minutes of pleading, I got him to try another card machine. It worked. In the car. The rearview mirror was not stable. The oil light was on. Tire pressure lights came on. Something positive, the man at the return at Phoenix Airport was very nice and quick. Forget saving a few bucks and go to Hertz or Avis.

I would give -10 stars if I could. This company is listed in the Defense Travel System used by civilian and military for temporary travel duty. A Marine was quoted $56 a day, approximately $240 for the week. Upon returning the car, he was charged $175 a day instead, for over $700! He twice tried to get them to adjust the actual price and they flat out refused. With any luck, they will be removed from the government system as an option.

Here is the bigger scam from not only Fox but Expedia. If you go to the Expedia website and then go to rent a car it can lead you To EUROPcar website, which you assume would be reliable. What can happen is that they will route your rental to Crappy FOX without your knowledge! And as you know and from the reviews Fox is an absolute suboptimal experience, especially the Vegas location. Furthermore Expedia does nothing to assist you if you have an issue.

This was the second time I used Fox Rent A Car as part of my Expedia travel package, but it will be my last. Although the staff at the rental counter and return area were very nice and friendly, their billing department and customer service teams were not helpful at all. First, when I arrived to pick up my car, because my flight had landed early, I was advised I would have to wait an hour or pay for an additional day. The counter agent told me that the car was due back by 2:00 pm on Thursday. I turned the car in at 2:05 pm but was assured by the person who accepted my vehicle that it was fine because there was 59-minute grace period.

Imagine my surprise when my credit card was billed for another day. I called and spoke to someone in billing who finally got approval from a "supervisor" to refund the late fee. But they only refunded part of what I had been charged. I was given an explanation that did not make any sense, and when I asked to speak to the supervisor, I was told someone would call me within 24-72 hours. Of course, I received no call. I called a week later and was advised that my request for a supervisor to call me had been declined. The billing department agent was very dismissive in talking with me but did finally relent and indicated she would escalate this issue to the rental location for resolution and email me with the results. Of course, I received no email.

I waited another week and called back and tried going through customer services instead of billing, but again, I got nowhere. I was told that they would put in a request for someone to call me back, but of course, they did not. I tried going onto their website to find a phone number to call their corporate offices which was basically a waste of time. At this point, I will have to eat the difference between the extra that I was billed and what was actually refunded. It is not a large amount, but it is the principle of the matter. If they do this to multiple customers in a day, they are definitely raking in the profits.

In addition, pressured me to get the insurance, even though I previously specified I did not want it. All said, I paid twice as much as originally agreed to rent the car. Tried working with customer service to resolve after returning the car and they refused to refund the unnecessary insurance (my insurance already covers). Lesson learned. When I was trying to resolve the issue, one of their incompetent employees gave me a number for what they claimed to be a different division of Fox Rental Cars that was supposed to be able to help, nope, they gave me a FAKE PHONE NUMBER. I was planning a reservation in Hollywood Florida for the following dates: February 16 2026 till March 30 2026. So I reserve a car with Fox. I received two confirmations including one on the eve of departure, February 14 2026. So on the 16, I went to the Fox counter at the fort Lauderdale Airport and after a long hard look at his screen, the clerk told me that I have been barred, rejected, and I'm now persona non grata at Fox. I couldn't get any reason why as no detail was provided even for those who work there. It was an administrative decision at a higher level apparently and that was it. No car for me. Go find a car somewhere else!

I told the clerk I reserved a car 2 years ago at the same place and probably a few other time since I'm doing this kind of location for about ten years. Never any problems of any kind ,credit card or damage to the car or claims. Nothing. Now that reservation was for an amount of 1213.06$ for the duration of the vacation. Given what just happened, I had little choice but to find a car on the spot. So I went to ACE, the counter right next to yours. The guy at ACE tried his best to have the lowest price for me but could not find lower than 1722$ for part of my vacation, 28 days. It is absolutely abhorrent to be treated like this. No notice to that effect has ever be send to me .Only happy confirmations. On top of that, it cast a shadow on my reputation left unexplained.

I rented through Priceline for my rental car in San Antonio, Texas for 2 weeks. I went to the rental desk and she pulled up my reservation, asked for my Driver's License at that time. I told the sales agent that I had more than enough full coverage on rentals with my personal auto insurance and offered to show her my insurance card, and I would not need any additional coverage. The agent said she just needed to know what insurance I had and I told her the company. The agent stated then I just needed to initial in 2 places and then asked for my payment. I paid with my American Express card which also offers coverage on rentals in addition to my personal coverage.

I returned the car in time and when she handed me the total amount I questioned why was I charged 180.00 for additional liability when I did not request that? The check in service said I would have to call the 800 number on the receipt that I was emailed. I called the Customer Service and of course you’re talking with foreign personnel you can hardly understand and she stated it was their policy. I then asked to speak with someone above her then was told there is no one above her and the charges could not be removed!

We reserved a car from Fox at the Phoenix airport. Our flight from Canada was canceled so we called Fox to let them know we would be late but still willing to pay for the car on the day we couldn’t show up. Fox kept telling us they couldn’t guarantee the reservation. We asked Expedia to send Fox an email explaining the situation, which they did, but when we got to the airport the next day (14 hours late) our reservation had been canceled.

Fox said the only car available was an upgrade for an additional $240. (Seems to be a common theme from what I’m reading in other reviews.) The staff was rude, abrupt and very unprofessional. Fox has a 2 hour grace period, after that time they cancel your reservation so you can expect to be charged more. When I checked around most car rental companies have a 24 hour grace period. First time we rented a car from Fox, but never again. Worst car rental experience ever trying to deal with the Fox staff.

I rented a vehicle from Fox in February 2026, and the experience was poor. First, the vehicle had a noticeable and unpleasant odor at pickup, which the attendant acknowledged but attributed to "bad car fragrance" without offering any solution. Second, I was unfairly charged a refueling fee. My rental agreement stated the car was picked up with a "Full" tank, and I returned it with the gauge showing "Full." Your representative then charged me to "max" the tank, even though there was no documented proof that it was at a "max" level at pickup. This arbitrary charge is unacceptable; and they will not refund me the charge. The practice of "skimming for cash by adding charges after the fact" is the reason I will be choosing other rental companies for my future travel.

I will never rent from Fox again and I suggest that others shouldn't either. They are deceptive in their practices. I specifically said I didn't want the daily insurance coverage; however, when it came to signing the different parts, the customer service person slipped in the part about accepting the insurance coverage and without my husband realizing what it was (he's quite deaf) he initialed it and we were charged for it. I should have questioned the total amount right away, but I thought maybe I was mistaken and I hadn't prepaid my reservation. My bad.

When I finally figured out what they had done, I called Fox and was told I'd need to go to the airport to get the charge removed. We finally went today and they refused to do anything about it and said it was our fault for initialing it (even though the copy they emailed me doesn't show it being initialed). This happened at the Fort Lauderdale Airport. We are out hundreds of dollars due to their deception. I'm at fault for not calling them on it right away. Lesson learned.

When I picked up the car, I was not given any information about this, and the contract does not state that the car must be returned in Miami, or that a penalty of $80 would be charged if it wasn't.

I called customer service, and the representative said I should have checked the company's website or asked the attendant, even though it is the employee's responsibility to provide this information, or it should be clearly stated in the contract, not on the website where people don't even think to look, much less read the return terms. I do not agree with this company's policy, and you can be sure that this will be the first and last time I rent a car from you. Besides all the trouble, the amount is very high; an Uber or Lyft from where I was would have cost me $50, and I could have saved $30 if I had known the car had to be returned in Miami.

I told the that it felt that Fox was sticking it to customers who were already on the hook. No change. Since I did not feel that I had much of a choice, I accepted the extra cost. Afterward, I took at look at Fox's website and found out that if I had started a new reservation for the 2 days - and not an extension to the existing one - the cost would have far far less than the $175, approx $50 total. PAY ATTENTION TO ALL THE TERRIBLE REVIEWS! My experience was terrible, including the following: They did not have the car I made a reservation for or an equivalent. So they offered me an upgrade but at a cost of over $240 for the reservation, or a downgrade, but because I paid in points, no price reduction. It took me 15 minutes to convince the counter person to give me the upgrade at no cost, which has always been my experience at other rentals.

The agent, I believe his name was Amir, then said I had the option of purchasing a half a tank of gas and I would only pay the difference between the amount of gas that I dropped the car off with and a half a tank. Instead, they charged me for a full tank when I return the car and no matter how much I protested they insisted that’s what I agreed to. I checked with Amir, probably five times before I agreed to the rental that it was a half a tank. When I returned it was close to half a tank, but they insisted there was only 4 gallons and charged me over $35 in gas.

With regard to toll roads, I thought I agreed to a feature where the tolls would automatically be recorded and then I would be billed for them. Instead, they charged me $12 a day - $167! - for tolls even though I did not use any for 10 of the 12 days I had the car. I had maybe $20 in tolls. They insisted they did not have the capacity to change my bill once I complained about it saying that’s the contract I signed and too bad. When we got home we couldn’t believe the charges for the rental car and deposit were charged on our card. We have called and explained what happened to several people in the Philippines. They told us they couldn’t give us a refund on the rental car without talking to the Las Vegas site. They said we could call back. We played this game for about a month. The last call we were told we couldn’t get the deposit back until we returned the car we never got! Finally a supervisor said he we return the money. We are still waiting. If you are thinking of using Fox my advise is to run Forrest run!! We didn’t and we were sorry. 😢

I rented a car from Seattle for seven days. I returned it on the seventh day Sunday before noon. It was due back by 2:30 PM to drop the car off, the attendant said to leave the cars in the vehicle and we walked out. On Tuesday of that week, I receive an email stating that my cost was nearly double what was expected. Evidently the attendance didn’t log the car in as being returned on Sunday, they said it was returned on Tuesday. I called customer service several times and they were of no help. They asked me to provide a gas receipt showing that I filled the vehicle up that morning, which I provided. They said they were going to forward it to the manager at the Seattle branch but four weeks later the problem has not been resolved and I have paid $1200 to rent a car for a week.

I let her know I did NOT want insurance, she charged my card over $470 when I asked why, she informed me it was a hold in case anything happened to the car. The charge went thru in 3 days. I tried calling all the customer service numbers, was hung up on, or left in a loop of sales. I emailed the phoenix fox airport manager, to no response. Picking up the car I was handed keys and told to "find my car with the alarm" in a dark garage. I was made to sign a waiver saying the car had no scratches, in a dark garage where I couldn't see a thing. Lesson is, don't believe anything they say, fight for no insurance and basically don't try to get customer service on any level.

We had a bundle deal for flights, hotels, and car rental, and we paid in full, but the lady at Fox Rent A Car asked for a $391 security deposit for a 4-day Nissan Altima rental, saying it would be refunded upon return. We returned the car on 12/18/25 before the scheduled time and were told to leave the keys in the car. I received a $177 refund from Fox Rent-A-Car.

When I called billing and the location, they said many extra charges had been added and that I had signed the paperwork. Nothing was explained about these extra charges, but the sales receptionist asked if we wanted a Jeep; we said "NO" to avoid additional costs. False advertising and the company's tactics of making customers scapegoats for extra charges justify the feeling of being ripped off. I hope more people become aware of this car rental place in Fort Myers, Florida. - with Shay ** at Fox Rent A Car.

I told the young lady I do not need insurance because my insurance company covers my car and Costco, my credit card company, covers the rest. I explained the last time I was in town, I rented from Alamo and the car had hail damage and I didn't pay a cent because Progressive Insurance Company and Costco credit card company took care of the whole balance. So I don't need insurance. And if I take insurance from Fox Rental Car, my insurance company won't cover me. When I returned on the 16th of December to turn the car in, I was informed that I owed $45.39 for insurance.

I asked Areisha to take it off, she said she could not because I signed for the insurance. I explained to her, they have you initial and sign on that iPad and you don't have time to read anything. Plus, they don't give you a copy. I asked her to explain what I was signing, and she never said I was signing for insurance coverage. I was lied to and stolen from by Fox Rental car company. I talked to everyone I could, and they still said they were not returning my $45.39. They offered to give me a 5% discount on my next rental, which I said I would never rent from this company again. INSURANCE SCAM, INSURANCE SCAM, INSURANCE SCAM!~! Read the reviews below mine, I wish I had read them before renting from this place. Review after review below call them out for making folks pay for insurance when they specifically declined it. READ THE TERMS BEFORE RENTING HERE!!!! They 1st charged my wife a $500 deposit that we had no idea about. Then they did a hard pressure sale to make us buy their insurance for $100 when we had already bought the insurance on Booking.com. They made it seem that they wouldn't give us the car without their insurance. The girl at the counter was very insistent. Unfortunately my wife didn't understand that it was already covered and paid it.

That killed a large part of our trip to see our son graduating USAF Basic Training. Getting clipped for an extra $600 at the beginning significantly impacted the trip. We barely covered the other expenses without that $600. In the Google reviews, it shows that other military families experienced the same thing. She had booked the car thinking it would be cheaper than Enterprise, which the upfront price was, by $100. But when everything was done, it ended up costing more. MUCH better to have gone with a more reputable company like Hertz or Enterprise where you can see all the hidden things before you book. So, while they did have everything listed and technically didn't do anything "wrong", their tactics are designed to confuse the average consumers. So, READ THE TERMS BEFORE RENTING HERE!!!! I will never use this company again.

Bottom line, as I say above, make sure you read the terms and understand what you are signing up for. And know if the insurance that you already paid for will cover your trip, don't let them hustle you into the extra $100 insurance when you already paid a fraction of that to the booking company. I get that the person at the desk is required to try to sell it to you, but when they flat out lie and says that the insurance you already paid for won't cover damage to the rental car if you're in an accident, and will only cover the other person's car, that's not right and is a scam. Oh, and check with your own car insurance company as well, depending on your plan, many of them already cover you if you rent a car on vacation, not just when you get a rental because you got in an accident with your own car. Just sayin', don't pay for something you already have, or can pay MUCH less than $100 for a 3 day rental.

I've now asked for time and date-stamped pictures of when I picked the vehicle up and when I dropped it off and in addition, the invoice for their repair (to see the date of repair, if it even was done) and the insurance claim they put in to have it done. This is Absolutely Ridiculous. If the window was actually damaged on my watch, why didn't they tell me at drop off or sometime before a month had passed? We flew to Ontario, California on November 23rd, and took the shuttle from the airport to Fox Rental to rent a car to drive while we were in that area on vacation that week. That transaction had already been arranged and paid for. When we entered the office that afternoon, we were taken aback at how the two employees behind the desk were raising their voices at the two customers that were being waited on at the time. The two customers were a man and a younger lady. I am assuming it was a dad and his daughter. They had just come from LAX to pick up a car, but they were denied. The young lady was asked about her driver's license. She and her dad let them know that she had two licenses, both currently valid. One was a U S one (issued by the state of California) and the other was an international one.

Both were presented, but the Fox employee refused to look at the Calif. one, and only looked at the international one. She was denied a car, and they cited on the paperwork that she ONLY had an international license. That wasn't true. She tried to show it to them, but was denied that opportunity. The two employees continued to show anger, berating both the dad and the daughter, and raised their voices higher. Then, they told them to leave and that they would have to go back to LAX to pick up a car. No explanation. No apology. No suggestion on alternate car rental companies. No compassion. They walked outside, and I walked out with them. I let them know that we had observed the situation, and that I would be writing a (negative) review for FOX because my husband and I had observed the way they had been treated. That was poor customer service.

When it was our turn at the counter, they weren't any friendlier to us. They did not greet us, but asked why we were there. We, again , were floored at their lack of courtesy. They told us which car we could drive, gave a spiel about some regulations, and handed us the keys. That's it. The attitude conveyed was gruff , grouchy, and grating. Not in any way professional, personal, or pleasant. No appreciation, acknowledgement, or acceptance. Not a "Thank you " for doing business with them. We seemed to be viewed as another business transaction that day. They even changed the information they had given us on the phone, by assigning us another make and model than the one they had previously cited. We were not granted the respect we should have had as customers.

Therefore, we won't plan to do any business with your company in the future. We also address, ask, and advocate that the two employees working their shift that day be terminated. Whether they realized it or not, they were representing your enterprise, and it is my assumption that you would not choose them to depict, describe, or define your company. The impression, information, and ideas conveyed that day gave us reasons to search for alternate car companies to rent from for our future travel plans. As already stated, we plan to take our business elsewhere. In the meantime, I do hope you will hire employees that will take on the goal of showing respect to customers. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to offer my input.

But when I arrived at Fox counter in Vegas, the lady agent with a bad attitude told me that the car type which I booked wasn’t available which left me no option but need to upgrade to a bigger car for an extra $25/day which I didn’t need. (I had same situation before with other car rental company and they just provided me with another car which was available with no extra charge as it’s their issue and responsibility but not the customer’s fault.) But Fox just wanted to ripped you off and left you no option. And what pissed me off was that the couple behind me got the car type which I booked!! So I got scammed!

Also, they need you to pay pre-paid fuel saying that it’s cheaper than full to full but then again it’s another ripped off as I just drove around the city and only used half of the gas. Another worse thing, the agent required me to pay $17/day for mandatory rental liability protection saying that it’s a new Nevada law that was implemented as of October 01 in 2025 even though my own insurance policy has already covered, then plus all those hidden fees which surprised you at the counter. So in the end, I paid an extra over $400 for the car rental which was totally scammed. I called Fox customer service afterwards, all I got was those irresponsible answers and bad attitude, they didn’t take any responsibility at all.

I chose Fox/Europcar because they seemed like a cost-effective option with reasonable reviews, but my experience turned out to be incredibly disappointing. At pickup, the representative specifically asked me if I wanted the premium insurance. I clearly said no. What she did not explain was that by saying no to the premium option, I was still being signed up for their regular insurance. She never disclosed that there was a second type of coverage being added, nor did she mention the cost. Had she done so, I would have declined it immediately. I already have personal auto insurance and have never paid for unnecessary coverage.

While I understand they later pointed out that my initials were on the screen, the issue is how the options were presented. The process felt rushed and confusing, and the lack of transparency made it easy to unintentionally accept charges I never wanted. I initialed the screen under the impression that I was declining insurance altogether. To make matters worse, after realizing what happened, I emailed multiple people at the parent company. Every response dismissed my concerns simply because I had signed the contract, even though their own representative failed to clearly explain what I was agreeing to.

    Beware:
Do not rely on their verbal explanations.

He asked me for a $250 CC deposit which is standard at these 3rd party car rentals. Barry had me initial on this little electrical panel and I again reiterated I'm not taking anything extra.

I then took the shuttle to the lot to pick up my car. It turned out to be a 2024 Dodge Hornet not a 2025 and it had some minor scratches which I made not of. The car itself rode pretty smoothly. To start, their airport shuttle never arrived—even after 15 minutes—so I had to take an Uber to their off-site location, which felt unsafe, poorly maintained, and overwhelmed with customers. There were more than 25 people waiting and only two agents working. It took over two hours just to reach the counter. When I finally did, the agent—unprofessional and inattentive—added charges I never agreed to, including a toll pass and insurance. I wasn’t even aware of the extra $100 until I returned home. These charges were never explained, authorized, or disclosed, and feel fraudulent.

The issues didn’t end there. Within the first few hours, the “luxury car” I was given malfunctioned—I couldn’t shift gears or turn the vehicle off. It took more than four hours and two different tow companies before the car was finally retrieved after midnight. The replacement vehicle wasn’t much better; it had issues with a flat or otherwise inoperable tire. This is, without question, the worst and most poorly managed rental car company I’ve ever encountered. The location was dirty, the service was unacceptable, and the business practices felt deceptive and unlawful. Terrible. The car was fine, but they added on more fees than what I originally paid for the car! I ordered the car through Expedia for 2 days. They charged me $71.33, which was supposed to include all taxes and fees. Once I picked up the car, I added $13.99 for the "toll road" pass. I also added pre-paid fuel, because the counter-person told me if I pre-paid for the fuel I used then it would be cheaper because they only charge me $2.86/gallon which is cheaper than local gas stations and then I would not have to bring the car back with a full tank. I agreed to that as well. I ended up returning the car early (the next day). Then I got the bill! They ended up charging me an additional $76.50! that's more than the original cost of the car. They charged me for 2 full days PLUS $7.77 in an hourly charge.

I only had the car for 25 hours total. They also charged me $46.33 in fuel. I used1/8 of a tank! They charged me for 16 gallons!! The car doesn't even hold 16 gallons! On top of that there is a Concession Recovery fee of 10% (10% of what, I have no idea) for $10.86, Flat tax of 7.5% for $9.56, and a surcharge of $2.00. But wait, there's MORE! There was also an additional $21.87 of additional fees and charges, even though when booking through Expedia, it stated that the cost included all taxes and fees. All in all they charged me over 100% MORE than the agreed upon charge. What a racket! These people are con artists. DON'T RENT FROM THEM! DON'T LET THEIR "LOW COST" CHARGES FOOL YOU. THEY PULL A BAIT AND SWITCH ONCE YOU RETURN THE CAR

If I could give this company 0 stars, I absolutely would. Our experience with Fox Rentals was nothing short of infuriating and downright deceptive. When we arrived to pick up our rental, the gentleman at the counter seemed polite at first—but quickly became intentionally vague about what we were signing and what the additional charges actually were. I’ve rented cars many times and I’m fully aware of the upsells and extra fees they try to slip in, which is exactly why I denied every single add-on when I booked through Expedia.

In person, I repeated multiple times that we did NOT want any additional charges. Despite that, the employee brushed it off, claimed we were just signing for “liability,” and never once mentioned that we were actually agreeing to roadside assistance and their overpriced insurance—charges that added up to nearly $350. He rushed us, told us to “just scroll and sign,” and made no effort whatsoever to explain what we were agreeing to.

When I contacted customer service, they told me a claim would be filed and I’d receive an email within 24–72 hours. Weeks went by and nothing. I had to chase them down, only to get the same dismissive runaround. This company is dishonest, misleading, and clearly relies on tricking customers into paying for things they explicitly declined. I will NEVER use Fox Rentals again and will absolutely be warning everyone I can to avoid them. Do yourself a favor—save your money, your time, and your sanity, and go with literally any other rental company.

The lady at the counter could have easily said.. Well you can, please provide proof of required coverage, we had that with us. They just keep showing the sheet, saying pick one... They won't modify your contract, either, if you know you're going to be a few hours late returning. My $200 rental turned into $290 for a return that was 3 hours late. Scam, pure and simple. However, when I returned the car, I noticed a charge for a “Loss Damage Waiver” that cost nearly as much as the rental itself — a clear scam tactic. They also added a $150 “deposit” that I was told would be refunded later. You’re required to sign everything on a digital screen, so you can’t actually see what you’re agreeing to in real time. Fox Rental Agency is about as sleazy as a company can get. I arrived at their Seattle location and when I went to pick up my vehicle, it was covered in dents and scratches. After doing a walk around the vehicle to document the damage on a provided damage sheet, I noticed that the rear driver-side tire was practically flat. After asking several lot attendants for assistance to no avail, I went back to the booth and they directed me to manager who filled the tire with air and we waited for twenty minutes to see if it held air.

At this point, he ask me how long I had rented the vehicle for and I replied 12 days. He said he didn't feel comfortable sending me out for 12 days and offered me the option of switching the vehicle AT NO EXTRA CHARGE for another one. I accepted, as I didn't want an obviously damaged vehicle anyway. This whole process put me an hour and a half behind schedule. When I got my credit card statement, I noticed there was an additional charge for $631.31. I called the Fox rental facility and was told there was an UPGRADE FEE of $40.00 per day, totaling $480.00 plus taxes and fees for which I never agreed to. After calling the facility, the agent was extremely rude and told me that was standard operating procedure when swapping out a vehicle. I explained the entire situation and she said she was sorry, but the charges will remain.

Also, my credit card agency was of no help at all. I will admit that I did not read the second rental agreement, as I was already an hour and a half behind schedule and took them at their word, big mistake. I truly thought however, that they would make it right upon explanation. They had all the information on the situation of the damaged vehicle but told me and I quote, buyer beware. Rude beyond belief. They told me it was MY fault for not reading it. That is another thing that will never happen again. I have rented many vehicles over my lifetime and Fox Rental is by far the worst I have ever experienced. I will be renting from reputable agencies in the future, even if it is a little more. Unfortunately, that’s where things got worse. Fox charged us double the expected amount, adding a series of hidden fees that were never discussed at the counter. You sign three or four times without any clear explanation of the actual total—and by the time you realize what happened, it’s “too late” to fix it. I rented a car for a weekend trip to California in mid-September and upon arrival I was required to put down a $500 deposit simply because I do not own a credit card, and when I was asked if I wanted to prepay for gas (in the event that I might need it), I was informed by the person at the counter that any money not used for gas would be returned to me, only to find out that the return agent that checked my car in LIED about the fuel level of my car! I returned my car with a FULL TANK and the return agent listed it as empty! 😡

So now the company is trying to deny my full refund of the $500 deposit that I was promised would be returned AFTER the car was returned (minus any amount they might have had to use for refueling, which was NONE because it was returned FULL!!!). So if you want to deal with a company that has dishonest business practices, calls customers liars, employs thieves, and encourages dishonest business, then go ahead and use Fox. Otherwise, stay as far away from them as you can because they WILL steal your money!!!

I have rented from Fox at PBI Airport several times. Yes the rental is cheaper, but the sales staff is deceptive and two times I got poorly maintained cars. I also was lied to or possibly the staff is poorly trained, which cost my last rental to being quoted at 117 before fees and taxes to 445 after insurance was added without me knowing and prepaid gas, which they assured was a better deal. The fuel charge alone was 95 dollars on a 3/8 full tank. I had to return the car with no a/c and got a replacement with a horrible smell. I asked them to take the insurance and prepaid gas off for the replacement and was told customer service was the only way to do that. Customer service said I had to do it at the location I rented from. Absolutely the worst experience.

This was an option through Expedia and think they are in on the scam together! They tell you that (Fox Rental) is a non refundable / non changeable rental. Ok, but then your flight is overbooked and your airline changes your flight therefore changing your arrival time to the original destination. Catch is this; they tell you oh we can request a waiver/voucher for this rental, so you can be reimbursed, due to the airfare changing your flight (I guess this is an option when airline changes your flight on non refundable bookings.) To which they (Expedia) will obviously try to book you another car reflecting your new time of arrival. BUT really won't get you reimbursement.

Now I have paid for 2 car rentals for the same trip!! They are nickel and diming people as well as blatantly lying to their customers. They want you to "forget" they said they were going to reimburse you because it was beyond your control. Literally had a supervisor named "Jamity" say he would call me back to help with this. He needed to close the line he was transferred on and will call me right back from his direct extension. This is the 4th person this afternoon I have spoke to from Expedia! They are very much trying to pacify me so hopefully I give up. I am not! I used to think Expedia was legit and reputable, boy was wrong and will not be using them or Fox again. I will also share my experience with every traveler I know... Hopefully it will affect their bottom line once they stop scamming people!!

I was scammed with the information I received from the agent who gave me the car. Agent mentioned that I need the toll pass as California has so many tolls. I mentioned the route we would be taking and she said every toll is $15 and that we would be going over many. She said we would not see them but they have cameras. She said we would be crossing at least 2 a day. So I signed for a toll pass for $140 for the 10 days. I crossed 3 tolls and they were each $8. The manager and she said the agent should have not told me that. Well that doesn't help me. She said there was nothing she could do. (Besides all the hidden charges!) My flight was delayed, traveling to West Palm Beach, picked up the car from the airport. The representative that assisted me asked if I wanted a SunPass, I said no, I was just using the car to get to and from Port St Lucie. He proceeded to state if I pass a toll, the charge is $90 and there was no way around the charge. I stated I wasn't familiar with FL and that $90 for a toll charge was pretty steep.

He recommended I get the SunPass for $13/day and if I did not go through any tolls, I could have the charges removed. That was a total deception! I contacted Fox Rental and the representative I spoke with said they don't refund those charges back, even if I didn't use the Sunpass. I trusted the representative, I was tired and the flight was not pleasant, I just wanted to get to my destination... very sad that employees would use such tactics to get more money from people. What happened to honesty and good customer service to retain customers? VERY DECEITFUL. Will never recommend the company.

At the rental counter, you are hit with numerous hidden fees that quickly erase any so-called “savings.”

One of the biggest issues is their push for accident coverage. If you decline their coverage, you are penalized in other ways, which makes the experience frustrating and unfair. In the end, you actually come out better renting from companies like Hertz, Avis, or Thrifty. These companies offer upfront pricing with no hidden penalties for using third-party bookings, unlike Fox. Fox Car Rental is misleading, and you are not saving any money by choosing them. I had a rental booked with Fox for a flight from Houston to Las Vegas in Jan 2025 for a business conference. Houston experienced a once in a lifetime snowstorm that week, and the night before my flight left the city shut the airport down completely and canceled all flights. Something that hasnt happened before. Disappointed by missing the conference for sure, but everyone was easy to deal with, the hotels, the airlines, all quickly gave refunds as it was an OBVIOUS act of God and way beyond my control. Everything that is except Fox rental cars. They decided to dig their heels in on this $220 rental and 'pretend' that I canceled the rental for unknown reasons.

I submitted over 20 pieces of documentation, including news stories, and even a special custom letter that Southwest Airlines was kind enough to put together for me explaining how the decision to cancel the flights was not mine, but was in fact forced due to the closure of the airport. I dealt with their refunds department for almost 6 months giving them every opportunity to simply make the refund but this is a big deal to them and they really need the $220 I guess. Well I moved all of my rentals over to Enterprise and have had many good experiences since then.

I am paying more but I guess this is one of those cases where you get what you pay for, and apparently FOX is just crap. Oh well, I forgot about it. Then today Fox has the nerve to send me an email saying how they are surprised I haven't rented from them in awhile, what could have possibly gone wrong? and please take the time to leave reviews about our company.... so OK. If I could rate this a 0 star I would. The service while renting the car was great, however everything else was a complete disaster. I made the booking through Expedia with the flight, at the Orlando, FL location. It did not have that they were not onsite, and had in very small font in the confirmation that a shuttle would need to pick us up and take us to the rental car location during "normal business hours", not mentioning what the normal business hours are. I started freaking out as it was after 12 AM. Then another person from my flight overheard and said he was getting a car from Fox also and there would be a shuttle. My fiancé was on the phone with Fox and they said a shuttle would be there no later than 12:29 AM. Well, 12:37 AM is when the shuttle got there. I was just happy to see them. Then, renting the car.

They charged me an additional $300 at the counter to just get the car after I had booked the car through the other site. Fine. Paid that and the gentleman behind the counter said to return the car to the garage when going to the airport for my flight. Awesome. Return day comes so I go to the airport, pull in the terminal to return the car and the attendant says he isn't sure what to do with the car so he would talk to his manager. So, I leave, get on my flight, and return home. A WEEK later, I receive an email that the car has not been returned to the location. I freaked out! Luckily I had taken pictures of it in the airport garage with a timestamp and location tagged. I sent that to Fox. I received an acknowledgement that they sent the pictures to the location and they would follow up. I received no updates so I emailed the person again. She stated they still have not found the car.

I called the customer service and they said they do not have trackers on the car. I find that hard to believe as it was a 2023 Mercedes and a rental car. But whatever so I started worrying I would be liable. Today I receive an email that they are sending a demand letter to me and that they would start the repossession process and notifying the Orlando police being charged with theft, and I would be added to the "do not rent" list. I call the Orlando police who gets me in contact with the airport police. They said it happens regularly with this company and it's probably in an impound lot. They checked and called me back within 30 mins that it was indeed in an impound lot and gave me the information.

Fox also emailed me after I provided them the information of where the vehicle was, told me I would be charged an addition $729 plus towing fees. Received the updated receipt/bill, $1995!! Why couldn't Fox have found where the vehicle was a week ago?! Worst experience of my life hands down. I will never ever rent from Fox again, nor recommend. Good luck to anyone who does.

This is without a doubt the worst rental car company ever. They charged me for a couple of gallons of gas when I had filled up the tank. I called customer service and she asked that I send receipt and I also had picture of gas gauge showing full. She never responded. I called back again and got someone else. He asked for all of my gas receipts. I sent all of them to the email he sent me. Never responded. Then called back a third time and "supervisor" said my receipts weren't high enough for the miles on car. And basically told me I was lying when I told him the price per gallon at the ARCO. This is unbelievable over less than $16 but it's the principle. They are wrong and will not take off charge. Don't ever rent from them.

Wish I could give them a 0 star. I sent my wife and her friend to Tampa for a getaway. I reserved and paid upfront for the rental through Expedia (181.00). Once my wife returned the car we were hit with hidden fees, extra charges, and unexpected costs. She took the damage protection (her fault as she doesn't travel all the time like I do) which ended up being more per day than the rental. She was never told a price upfront. When I called them about it the woman I talked to was quite rude. At the end of the day the rental cost double (186.00 extra) than I thought I paid for. Stay away because you will pay much more than you did when you reserved. Also to note, even though the car was reserved and paid by me under my name as her the driver under my Expedia account they would not talk to me until I got authorization from her that they could talk to me about it!

I rented a car from Fox Car Rental at their SeaTac office in Washington State from April 14th through the 17th and returned it in the condition that was given to me at the time of pick up. At the time of pickup, I was provided paperwork that clearly listed all existing dents and scratches. Upon return, no new damage was noted by staff, and I was not informed of any issues — everything appeared to be in order. Now, four months later, I’m being contacted and told I’m responsible for a cracked windshield that was never mentioned during the return process and absolutely did not exist when I returned the car. The idea that I would be held accountable for damage that could have occurred long after my rental period — with no timely documentation or evidence — is not only unreasonable, it’s deeply unethical.

I’ve asked them for photos and for the video feed of me entering the return area. The customer service agent was just a bully. This feels like a clear attempt to push unwarranted repair costs onto former customers. I’ve asked for photos and for the video feed of me entering the the returning area. Strongly urge anyone considering renting from this company to think twice. If you do rent, take thorough photos of the car (inside and out) at pickup and drop-off, and document everything in writing. As a customer who returned a car in the same condition it was rented, I should not be dealing with fabricated charges months down the line. I will be disputing this claim and reporting the company to consumer protection agencies if necessary.

The majority of the charges (shown on the receipt attached below) were unclear and incomprehensible to me. Because it was late, I was in a hurry, my English isn't very good, and I had already paid a deposit on Expedia, I had no choice but to sign. But I feel this is outright fraud. I’ve rented cars from Fox many times in California, Nevada, and Oregon, and I’ve never encountered such excessive hidden fees. I don’t understand how they’re allowed to operate like this in Texas.

If I could give zero stars I would. I rented a Fox Rent A Car in Orlando in June 2025. The car place is a bit far from the airport (about 10-15 minutes). Which wasn’t a big deal if it saved money. But here’s where the stress really began. The line was long and slow moving. Then the Fox company pressured me to get a $200+ insurance plan I didn’t need. They took a $365 deposit I wasn’t sure I’d get back. This caused unnecessary stress throughout my trip. I did get a full refund on my deposit, but it took several days. I felt terrible that other people were talked into up to $400+ unnecessary insurance plans. Truly criminal.

Now a month after my rental, I received a $106 fee for using tolls. I was stressed and careful throughout my trip to pay cash at every toll I could. But I think there may have been 2 tolls (less than $5) I could not pay cash for, hence the $100+ fee. If you don’t want to have your trip ruined with unnecessary car rental fees, do yourself a favor and pay a little extra for a car rental company that is not full of crooks.

Similar experience as others, we found hidden fees or misrepresented fees once we received our bill. For example, we reserved the car for noon, but our flight arrived early and things worked out that we got to the car rental in SEA about 1.5 hours early. It appears they have charged us $20 per hour for getting it early - so make sure to time everything correctly or you will be charged! There was no mention at pick up that they were going to charge us, we would have just waited to pick up the car. Hidden Charges #2 (and really quite mind blowing). We paid for the pay for fill up at $4.42 (in rental agreement), but because "we returned the car with more than a half tank" we were charged 9.96 per gallon. So it's better to return full or under half. Because it was only a couple gallons I guess they charge more.

We drove off without doing so except taking videos of the outer vehicle. While in the road, we noticed the alignment is off and the van is making some tire noise. We checked the tires when we got to the hotel and we noticed that the 2 front tires are balding and have cracks. We immediately called it in and requested for a replacement. We ended up calling back after over an hour waiting for their call back.

They want to charge us for the hours the van was in our possession. We disputed it for safety reasons and threatened to call the credit card to dispute the charges. All of a sudden, they promised they’ll tow another van to our hotel and tow the original van back to their lot. Since they over billed us for the rental, we told them to take off $187 for inconvenience, which brought down our bill to the original quoted price. At this time (2 hours later), we’re still waiting for the tow truck to come drop off the replacement and to pick up the other van. By the way, The van looks dirty and overused (nasty).

This review is for The FOX Miami Airport (3275 NW 24th Street Rd, off-airport). I definitely do not recommend this place—especially the representative named **. His attitude changed as soon as I declined the insurance he tried to sell me. Without asking, he automatically added a $150 toll fee and expected me to pay it. When I questioned the charge, he started lying, claiming that everywhere in Florida has tolls and that if I didn’t prepay, I would be charged $15 each time I passed through one. When I refused, he got upset and kept threatening me with the possibility of even higher toll fees. After he completed all the paperwork, he handed it to me and kept saying, "Bye, go," while I was still reviewing the documents to make sure everything was correct. He continued repeating, "Bye, go, go," as if he was trying to rush me away from his counter.

Then, my family and I went out to the rental car lot to get the car. No one was there to assist us or conduct a pre-inspection. I saw a mechanic walking by and asked him about the inspection, since the vehicle had many scratches and visible damage. He said the inspection had already been done and the record was in their system, so I shouldn’t worry. I told him I would take pictures and videos of all the damage just in case. He said, “It’s up to you, but it will be useless.” I took the video anyway.

When I returned the vehicle at the Atlanta airport, the representative who checked the car asked for the pre-inspection sheet. I explained that no one had performed a pre-inspection when I picked up the vehicle. She pointed out that the car had several areas of damage and said that without the pre-inspection sheet, I would be held responsible for the damages. I showed her the video and all the pictures I had taken. She confirmed the date and time on the video and, after reviewing everything, she finally checked me out without holding me responsible for the damages.

I truly believe that either the representative ** or this company as a whole is trying to take advantage of customers. If I hadn’t taken that video, they would have made me pay for damages that were already there when I picked up the vehicle. This was the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had—the staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. I strongly urge everyone to stay away from this company and especially from this rental location.

I reserved a car online through Expedia, for @250.00 but when picking the car by the airport an extra $395.00 were added, when reserved online, I had reserved an SUV, but it was downgraded to a Nissan Altima, same that was dirty outside and dry vomit in the inside, my husband and I complained but to no result. When we call customer service, they told us that that was considered an upgrade???? These people overcharged my credit card. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYBODY AT ALL.

Well!, I am another dissatisfied customer. I rented my vehicle at DFW, I was charged a late fee, because my vehicle had bad tires on the passenger side which had me going to a tire place almost everyday. I was attending a conference and was the only authorized driver, and did not have time to go back for another vehicle, but after speaking with billing and customer service it would not have worked to my advantage. So they charged me a late fee for returning the car late due to having to put air in the front passenger tire again on Saturday morning and having the rear on repaired! I was told once I leave the rental place I am responsible for the condition of the tire. First and last experience ever with EUROCAR. Somebody tell Donald Trump about them so he can write an executive order to shut them down!!! They are the worst car rental ever!!!!

This company needs to figure out how to better serve its customers. Should not have to wait in line for 2 hours to pick up a car that has already been reserved. You have 2 people working and 75 people in line, standing in the heat because the doors don’t even shut since the line is all the way out in the parking lot. Will never use your service again. Other rental places I have utilized have a super easy pick up and drop off, might want to take a page out of their book!!!

This company is based on fraud. Said I would receive a full sized SUV seats 7, got a RAV4 seats 5. Charged me for a full tank, used half. Charged me for a toll pass, never had any tolls on the road! The salesperson was very slick, never explained the charges, made it seem like they were doing me favor. Like, "I'll activate our toll pass so don't get fined," instead of saying, "We are going to charge you $45 for something you're not going use."

How about the gas purchase. You prepay for a full tank of gas, since they have lowest price in town. What they dont tell you is, if you only use half, they still charge you for a full tank. Then when you call them and question it, they say, "We will refund you the half tank as a COURTESY...." Unreal. Same deal with the toll pass, only absolutely no refunds on that scam. Never saw one toll fee on the trip!! Lost $45 on that one!! Not to mention the car was dirty when we got it, like actual dirt on the carpets. Nice Fox. Like they say, never trust a FOX!

Horrible experience with Fox Car Rental at the Ft. Lauderdale airport location. Made reservation online through Expedia with our flight tickets, 2 months prior. When we walked to the Fox location we were greeted with a snaking line, stood waiting in that excruciatingly slow line for 2 hours. Finally we it was our turn, only to be told that we could not get a car because the credit card used on the reservation was in my name and the reservation was in my husband's name. Why wasn't it flagged when I made the reservation if this was a problem? When asked to switch the name, as we were both standing there, he said we would have to cancel the reservation and make a new one and would not honor the original price. Wanted to charge $100 more! So infuriating to start off our Anniversary trip this way. Never again with FOX.

I have been renting cars with Drivo/Fox rental cars since 2020. I don't expect special treatment, but as a loyal and pleasant customer, I have never damaged the vehicle or had an issue. They would show me a little respect, but this place is not even a credit with the Better Business Bureau. It's an LLC, and they're allowed to take your money, and the minute you have anything to say that disagrees with what their rules are they will band you from renting cars I have spent The last 5 years with this company, and I'm ashamed to say it maybe $60,000 or more, and you would think that they would give a little bit more respect.

They banned me for speaking up for myself.

I had an issue with one of their employees, he is passive-aggressive. he says comments like "you people." he is very racist, and I'm not going to stand for being targeted or abused verbally when I'm spending money. After I booked my second reservation in a row for the month of May, when I came to pick up my rental car, I was told I was banned after dropping my previous rental off and walking across the street to their new pick-up location. FYI, I have been renting cars with Drivo/Fox Rental Cars since 2020. While I don’t expect special treatment, I believe that as a loyal and respectful customer, I deserve a certain level of respect. I have never damaged a vehicle or had any issues during my time with them.

Unfortunately, I’ve found that the company does not hold a good standing with the Better Business Bureau and operates as an LLC. This allows them to take your money, but if you voice any concerns that contradict their rules, they will ban you from renting cars. Over the past five years, I have spent approximately $60,000 with this company, and it’s disheartening to feel that they do not appreciate my loyalty. I was banned for speaking up for myself after experiencing an issue with one of their employees, who exhibited passive-aggressive behavior and made comments such as "you people." This is blatantly racist, and I refuse to tolerate being targeted or verbally abused while spending my money.

After booking my second rental for the month of May, I arrived to pick up my car only to be informed that I was banned. This was right after dropping off my previous rental and walking across the street to their new pick-up location. It’s worth noting that the same employee who requested my ban had previously helped me book a new rental, fully aware that I would lose my money. I was there previously, and the same service person who requested me to be banned helped me book a new rental, knowing I would lose my money.

The manager, R, told me to contact the corporate office to resolve this. I have spoken to several people at their so-called corporate office and have been informed they will look into the matter and get back to me. It's been two weeks now. I will update my outcome and load images of my consecutive rental agreements from 2020 to 2025 as proof.

I recently rented a car from Fox Rent a Car at LAX Airport toward the end of 2024, and I had a very disappointing experience. Firstly, the shuttle took an hour and a half to arrive, despite us repeatedly calling the office. While we waited, every other rental car company’s shuttle came and went multiple times, but ours was nowhere to be found. Each time we called, they took our information, but the shuttle never came until much later. When we finally arrived, the agent convinced us to upgrade the car, even though we clearly stated that we did not want to pay anything extra. Despite our insistence, we later discovered that we were charged an additional $443.68 which covered a full payment for the car rental. This was completely unexpected, as we had already paid the full amount through Expedia.

The agent misled us into signing for something we did not ask for, which we believe was done deliberately. It became apparent that Fox uses the “sign here” tactic, where documents are signed on a tablet without clearly showing what is being agreed to. This practice is deceptive and unprofessional. After realizing the issue, I called Fox Rent a Car to dispute the charge. Unfortunately, the customer service representatives were unhelpful and kept repeating the same scripted responses without truly understanding or addressing my concerns. No resolution was offered, and it was clear that they were not willing to assist. I later found out that many other customers have faced similar issues with Fox Rent a Car. I regret not checking the reviews beforehand, as it would have saved me from this frustrating experience.

This experience was extremely disappointing and made worse by the agent’s dishonesty. It’s clear to us that Fox prioritizes additional charges over customer satisfaction. Due to this experience, we have decided never to rent from Fox again. We strongly advise other potential customers to be cautious when dealing with Fox Rent a Car, as their practices can lead to unexpected charges and significant inconvenience. Fox Rent a Car is undoubtedly the worst place to rent a vehicle, and we hope that sharing our experience will help others avoid similar issues. Attached are photos showing the condition of the car we received, clearly demonstrating that no upgrades were made. Despite this, we were unjustly charged extra.

Absolutely the Worst Car Rental Experience – Avoid at All Costs. I am appalled by the utter lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service at Fox Rent a Car. This company has proven to be disorganized, misleading, and downright abusive in its billing practices. Back in October, they charged my personal credit card as agreed. Despite my making the full payment, they inexplicably sent the matter to a collections agency, without any clear communication or explanation. There was absolutely no systematic process, no notice, and certainly no courtesy extended.

To make matters worse, months later, they went ahead and charged the same high amount to my business card today, without warning or authorization. This is not just unprofessional—it’s borderline fraudulent. Their customer service has been consistently rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to take ownership or even explain what’s going on. I am shocked at the level of disorganization and the absence of even the most basic decency in handling customer concerns. There is zero transparency, zero communication, and an attitude that is both arrogant and careless. Stay far away from Fox Rent a Car unless you want to be overcharged, ignored, and treated with disrespect.

MANY PEOPLE READ & TRUST MY REVIEWS!!!! DO THE RIGHT THING!!!! DON'T RENT CARS FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY DO A BAIT & SWITCH! I initially reserved a car through Expedia.com for a rental car at the Fort Myers Airport. I followed all the instructions for opting not to take their auto insurance because my Insurance Company verified I was fully covered & I printed all the documents needed as proof. Upon arrival & picking up the car, their person behind the Counter "Amy" said she's been there 20 years and never heard of no one not taking their insurance. She coerced me into taking their insurance. At that point I had no choice stranded at their rental site, made me sign a receipt for $317.73. She wouldn't even look at my Insurance paperwork & said that was from Expedia.com not Fox Rent A Car website.

While at my Resort, I used the computer to look up www.foxrentacar.com & on their own website it states that purchasing their insurance is "optional". I returned the car, spoke with the other counter person "Angel", she said there was nothing she could do for me, to call "Billing". Once I got home, I checked my credit card. I was charged by Expedia.com $135 which was what I was expecting to pay for the car rental. In addition I was charged $317.73 by "Fox rent a car". I called the billing dept. They refunded me $150 which means I still end up being charged $302!!!! They are thieves, this is not over!!! I am going to the florida better business bureau, the florida attorney general & the U.S. Attorney general complaint departments if this is not resolved immediately!!!! Save yourselves the aggravation, do not rent a car from these bait & switch thieves!!!!

Just do the right thing & I won't have to "Contact us"!!!! I've already tried to resolve the problem through your company & expedia.Com. Expedia.Com charged me $135 & then you charged me $317.73!!!! You credited me $150!!!!! My budget was $135 through expedia.Com!!!! I'm still out $150!!!!

I wished I had read all the bad reviews before I booked my rental with Fox rent a car. I prepaid everything through priceline, when I checked in, the person at the desk charged me some deposits for preauthorization of the gas charge. When I was trying to ask how this worked she was very impatient and almost yelled at me that she had explained it already. Anyway, I got the car and started my vacation. When I returned, I filled up the gas tank at a nearby gas station (2 miles away) and then returned the car. I took a picture of the gas tank with indicator of full and the mileage and then returned the car (this is a couple minutes before the staff actually checked in the car and the gas tank clearly showed full).

A couple of days later, I got the refund of the deposit, surprising $56 was missing. I called and asked why. Customer service said I returned the gas tank with 1/8 of the tank missing. I emailed the picture of the gas tank and the mileage and the receipt from the gas station. It turned out that there is a 2-miles differences between my picture and their recording of the mileage. I asked about how the 2 miles can account for 1/8 of a tank and how can people returned the car with zero miles in between gas station and the rental car return location if there is no gas station right next to it, she couldn't answer my questions. Yet she kept saying according to their policy I didn't return the car in full tank because I drove two miles between gas station and their rental return. Because of this they can only refund me for 50% of the gas precharge. This is super frustrated and I still haven't received even that 50% of the refund yet.

In addition, the staff who worked there were rude, impatient and seemed not care at all. Besides the impatient lady when I checked out the car, the guy standing in the returning lot playing his phone even when he saw we drove in. There were no one else returning at the time but he never came to greet us and take the car. I had to ask if he works there for him to unwillingly move to check in my car. The customer service rep was nice and suggested I turn the car in at 4:30, instead, because it was saving me approx $15.00 and there was an hour grace period.

We turned in our car before 4:30, and there were at least 6-8 cars parked in front of us. I even walked to the check out desk to ask what to do, and they told me to go back and someone would be with me soon. They stated I turned the car in at 4:59. I was already through TSA, checked my bags etc and waiting to board my plane by then. Regardless, they wouldn't waive the fee, and said it would be 48 hours to speak with a supervisor.
