I am most shocked by the customer care team's unprofessional-ism. They are shockingly non responsive and inept at resolving issues. I am fighting for a false charge since 90 days and they have not moved an inch. I have enough paper trail to show how inept they are, how they lie to you about handling your issue, and delete recorded conversations with their team, deny mails that I have received, deny reservations confirmation mails that they FALSLY CLAIM I MADE.

Basically they lie and wriggle out of anything and do not help. I got a call from +1(602) 466-9813 number. The lady first assured me that she wanted to resolve my issue, after few minutes she said I should not call anyone as she will personally resolve my issue, and after 3 minutes she says she will not resolve my issue because Expedia has nothing to do with the FALSE CHARGE. My card has been charged for 405 euro!!!! She did not know what she was talking about... I want to make sure nobody faces such atrocious handling of a grievance. There are so many other bookers that I don't see why Expedia should be used at all for bookings if they can not be the go between party for customer support.

I booked an airline ticket (Itenary No - **) from Expedia. They booked it through ETIHAD Airways departing March 1st, 2019 from Toronto to Mumbai and Returning from Mumbai to Toronto on March 12, 2019. For some reason, I had to cancel the flight. I called them the day before departing. It took 5 hours for them to cancel the flight. I called 10 to 15 times to both Expedia and ETIHAD. Expedia said call ETIHAD and Cancel it ETIHAD said call Expedia and cancel it. Somehow Expedia canceled it and gave me a case ID (E-**) with the $399 charges.

I have been chasing them to get my $1100 refund back. I called them multiple times to check the status of my refund on my credit card. Every call is 1 hour wait time. It has been 3 months I have not received my refund yet. They are repeating the same story to check with ETIHAD's accounting department (Case ID - **) and ETIHAD said to check with Expedia. I talked to one of the customer representatives today she said she will call ETIHAD behalf of me and will find out the status and kept me on hold and said if the call will drop she will call me back. I never got a call back from her. It's a hassle to dealing with them just to cancel the ticket even though you are paying the cancellation fees. It's better to book it through local agents (Old school way).

This week I booked a hotel through Expedia. I use Expedia frequently (at least 2 or 3 times a years. Sometimes as often as 6 or 7). My brother was in an accident on his way home this week; my niece passed away and my brother is currently in a coma. We have been told we have hours left with him. Because we are 5 hours from home I got on Expedia to reserve a room for my sister, mother, & I. The room rate with tax ended up being $163. Except when I check in Holiday Inn states had I booked through them directly my room would’ve been $88 with tax... I called Expedia several times. Explained my situation in hopes that they would rectify it. No. They refused. Basically acted like they were put out by me asking. The fact that I use them multiple times a year to book flights, hotels, & vehicles & they couldn’t make this right? I’ll never book with Expedia again. 0 ⭐️ for customer service. Worst ever.

Never book a flight with Expedia. I had to help my parents with the flight reservations and we never had problems with Expedia before. But IF you ever run into flight changes or any situation where Expedia could lose money, they will just blame the airlines and say there's nothing they can do on their end. In the end my parents had to book a new flight a day before their date of departure (paying an extra $3000) and I incurred a $300 international phone call bill even though I dialed their international toll free number or called their number with my local area code.

What happened was my parents' flight was cancelled by Air China (transit point before flying into Seoul, South Korea) a week before its intended date of departure. I called on behalf of my parents asking if they can find another flight. They kept putting me on hold, saying they need to call Air China then Asiana. So I stayed on the line, on average waiting for 3 hours. Then Expedia would get back to me saying Air China won't pick up or that call hours have ended and ask me to call again tomorrow. So I did that for 4 days straight. Same thing happening over and over until eventually my parents gave up and had to cancel their flight with Expedia and book a new ticket because there was only 1 day left.

It's one thing had Expedia notified my parents of the flight cancellation on Air China's part. I purposefully withheld information so that they don't twist the truth around. This new Expedia agent I was speaking to was not aware of when the email from Expedia went out to my parents. He was under the impression the email went out 2 months in advance which is when Expedia found out about the cancellation by Air China. But for some reason, Expedia didn't bother letting their customers know about it until a week before the departure date. So I argued Expedia holds some responsibility for negligence but they just said things like this happen in life and they we should speak to Air China directly. But the problem was that we bought the tickets through Expedia not Air China and so my argument was that it was the miscommunication between the two of them that's the problem so my parents should be compensated. This did not happen.

I asked them, "Then why would anyone book through you guys when all do you do blame your business partners and don't take any responsibility for anything?" They just kept saying sorry but that there's nothing they can do. It's quite clear in my opinion that Expedia's business model is a dying one. They're essentially an incompetent travel agency who moved all of their business online and don't have any direct line of communication with the hotels and airlines they claim to work with. They're just the middle men who takes fees from older people who aren't as proficient in the travel game. I was able to get my parents a $100 voucher. Funny part is, it was only applicable to the hotels booked through Expedia. This was completely useless of course. But I figured my parents may use that so negotiated to get that. This voucher also expires in a year btw.

Also, when I called back about my phone bill, they said there's nothing they can do (obviously being the useless company they are). I had called the customer service number that started with my area code. When I called asked why my phone service provider charged me a $300 dollar international phone calling bill, they said sorry but that's the provider's problem not theirs. I'm very careful about international calling but to be sure, I asked the guy if perhaps this call is also international even though I'm using the proper area code. Hilarious enough, he said yes it's international and that I'm calling India. I said, "How am I calling India when I called a number that begins with a South Korean area code?" He said, "I don't know but this is India" and that I'll be getting charged for the current call too. Then he had the audacity to ask if he can put me on hold when I asked to speak to his supervisor.

Btw, their supervisors are also a bunch of useless "I'm sorry but we can't do anything" people. The whole company is based on blaming their business partners and will not take responsibility for anything. Never use Expedia. They'll run out of business soon since they actually hold no power over anything. But avoid them if you can because they'll rip you off at any corner.

I bought plane ticket along with car rental on same transaction then minutes later decided to cancel because the dates do not work for me. It allowed me to cancel and said I cancelled successfully. I though it will refund my to my credit card. It only gave me back part of it. Not all of it.

I did not found this until weeks later when I get notifications to check in for flight then when I looked it only refunded me for car rental but not plane ticket. Called in to their customers service was put on hold for 2 hours. Escalated to 3rd tier they say my fault and have follow policy (pretty much the equivalent of "just following orders"). They can see the history/log of me booking trip and canceling it. Why would I only cancel one part of trip something essential like car rental. I would not. Wasted my time and money and defrauded me. Expedia did refund my money but it would take 5 to 7 business days but were quick to withdraw my money once the hotel was booked. Horrendous customer service, my friend and l were able to find a room five minutes away for two queen sized bed for two nights for 129. So not only did we have to wait for a refund. As of June 2019, Expedia will (if you're REALLY persistent) match a lower hotel rate... but be warned, it's a complete nightmare process! In order to get a $350 refund for a lower price that popped up minutes after I booked a 5-night hotel stay, I had to waste hours on the phone and via email. They make it absolutely as difficult as possible. I don't believe this is by accident, but rather by design - and for a few hundred bucks - not worth it.

You need to call, and get directed to their Price Match submission page. With approval, you can submit your claim including PDFs showing before & after rates. They will run you through multiple requests for different information and each time, there is a different name attached to the email thread on their end along with a new and different request for information. This went on for 2 weeks, until finally they offered a refund. Gaaah! Never again. Just go directly to the hotel or airline... the lack of transparency (honesty) with Expedia was really disappointing.

I called Expedia and they said they wouldn't refund due to the hotel policy. Didn't try to help at all. Also, the website and confirmations are hard to navigate, hardly any information. Basically anything they send you just summarizes vague descriptions and doesn't give you helpful options to contact. Then they told me they would not even change my booking dates unless I got a letter from a doctor to justify why I could not make my travel. For three weeks I was running around trying to get them to refund my money or change my booking. Then I rang the hotel direct and they said they never asked for a doctor's letter and they were happy to give me the refund. So Expedia had been lying to me all this time.

Now after approving my refund last week, they say I cannot get my money unless I bring a letter from the bank to confirm my bank details. They won't even send a bank cheque to my home address or take my account details. To make it It gets better, I was just told they don't have a customer complaints department that customers can directly contact and talk to. What a load of rubbish. The Expedia staff I spoke to are all in India, and they are only two people you can talk to, the person who takes the call and the supervisor. 3-Jun-19. Question: Is EXPEDIA acting "just" as an agent and does not protect its customers? As a longtime customer of Expedia (for several years I was a GOLD member), I was surprised to recently realize that the first time I needed their assistance I was not able to receive it. I used EXPEDIA's service to rent car on April 25th 2019 in Rome, Italy (Itinerary: **). The rental company was Dollar (serviced in Rome by Hertz). All went well of my side – I returned the car with even more fuel than what was in the car when I took it. However, I soon discovered that the rental company has charged me 100.83 Euro because I "neglected" to fill the fuel tank.

On May 8th I sent an email to Expedia with the relevant documents showing that the car was returned with even with more fuel than received (I received – 6/8 fuel tank, I returned 7/8). Meaning that the charges by Rental Company are wrongful. Since this email, Expedia has been dragging their feet in any possible way and finally on May 31st I got an email explaining that Dollar "have denied your refund request" and that EXPEDIA "act only as an agent". I am now wondering why should I bother with EXPEDIA services if they are not able to protect and represent you? This a big disappointment for me since you expect the full protection in case you are being "rubbed" because of a transaction brokered by EXPEDIA. Haim **. We found a lovely Riad in Marrakesh and made the booking excitedly waiting for our holiday. We arrived and the Riad broke the news that we didn't have a booking, they had cancelled on the day we made the booking but Expedia/Ebookers had failed to let us know. We spent half a day trying to get them to organise replacement accommodation, as it was a very busy weekend. Everything was booked up and more expensive. They spent all their time trying to put us in substandard accommodation that was the same price as we had booked a month ago. It wasn't as good and not even in the same area. We had agreement that if we book somewhere they would refund us the cost of the replacement accommodation.

Upon returning home we sent the receipts and a full complaint to the email address provided and received no reply. I chased and included the general customer service email and got a phone call where I pointed out I had requested that I wanted to have my reply via email which I do not think is an unreasonable request. Their call finished and I expected a reply, none was forthcoming. I chased multiple times and ended up getting an email from CEO email after 4 weeks of nothing.

They passed it onto their priority customer service team who took 2 weeks to offer me the difference between our booking with them which we did not get the chance to use and the hotel we booked. This would mean we will have paid double the cost of our initial booking and Expedia receive money for nothing. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced and though Expedia publish lofty strategic imperatives of being Customer Centric every step they have taken has been for their own betterment and has had the customer nowhere near the centre of their money first customer second company. I call Expedia and their customer service claims they can't reach the hotel. I email the hotel directly, May 23rd the Hotel replies to me that they can cancel as long as Expedia contacts them directly. I call Expedia immediately to inform them of the Hotel's offer, they deny my request to forward them the email and instead insist they need to contact the hotel directly and must wait 48 hours for a reply (this is strange to me since they replied to me within 24 hours, however I take it as the May 24th cancellation deadline is no longer on the table). May 25th I call Expedia to follow up, system is conveniently down for maintenance and service agents can't look into the issue.

May 26th...system is down for maintenance again, I am told to call back in 4 hours (02:00 am local time). May 27th I call Expedia and am told the hotel has denied the cancellation and refund (they will not forward me the e-mail proof as was promised by the initial call), instead I am told to email the hotel directly but they refuse to provide me an email address to include them (possibly avoiding a paper-trail in their mischievous way of obtaining commissions). This company habitually misinforms their customers for profit, their phone lines and website are set up in a way to entrap callers & browsers into selecting options which lead to extra costs. There are other business that offer a better experience with comparable deals.

I have been using Expedia for my travel needs every week for well over a year. I finally had a slight change to one of my reservations and tried to make a change to my reservation one week in advance. I purchased the $19 Protection plan Expedia offers when I bought the ticket originally. The only way I could get my money back was to file a lengthy claim with Travel Guard, the insurance company and jump through hoops to make it happen. Since the amount I would be getting back was only $65, I let it go. Not worth the time and effort. Just keep in mind that Expedia will not help you even if you purchase the Travel Guard. It is a waste of time and money. The worst part for me is I bought this "insurance" multiple times and used Expedia for a year before I needed to make a change. And when I finally need their help, all they could give me was a phone number to the insurance company. I'll be going directly through the airline now.

Booked a two night stay with Expedia charging me $216. I thought that pricing was high to start with, considering the motel. When I checked into the motel, the paperwork clearly stated they were charging $93 per night. Considering the quality of the motel, I could see $93 per night being a fair price. I approached Expedia about the issue and was sent a form letter with an excuse that did not reflect the truth. So Expedia took $30 as a fee for their services. A fee they never mentioned and clearly attempted to hide in their pricing.

So... Find a hotel on Expedia's site and then call the hotel directly and you will probably get a better price. Is it this way for all bookings? I don't know but if Expedia issued a simple quick refund of the difference, that would have made a considerable change in my opinion of their services. $30 compared to my lost business as well as bad reviews. Expedia made a bad business choice.

I haven't had a problem with Expedia in the last six or so years we've used them for our family trips, until this year. Our problem, which was related to not getting an airline ticket refund they their agent assured me that I'd receive, was escalated three times to their highest tier of support (to their Corporate Office). Ironically, it's at the highest levels of Expedia where we found a culture that sorely lacked accountability, empathy and interest in the customer experience.

This nightmare began when American Airlines suddenly canceled our flight to Mexico and offered to book us on another flight the next day. Understanding our interest in leaving on the day we originally planned to leave, Desiree, a representative in Expedia's Corporate Office, recommended that we let her cancel the AA tickets we purchased through expedia.com, and then purchase tickets separately on a different airline. Although there was an added cost to purchasing the tickets last minute, we moved forward with Desiree's suggestion after she confirmed that she successfully processed the AA refund on our behalf and that we should receive reimbursement within 6 weeks.

Fast forward two to three weeks later to when we receive an email from AA stating that our refund would not be issued, given that the tickets were "non-refundable." I called Expedia again to ask for help, highlighting the conversation I had with Desiree, and I was put in touch with Mark in their Customer Support team / Corporate Office. Mark immediately went on the defensive, noting how they have no control over the situation and cannot provide me with any help or compensation. When I referred to Desiree's previous guidance that I'd get a refund from AA and to simply purchase another flight, Mark stated that "You didn't have to take [her advice]" and that she should not have assured me that a refund was coming. Wow. No compensation (or coupon), no apology, no sympathy whatsoever. The agent was combative and defensive, and guaranteed me that "no compensation will be provided for you today."

Of course, I understand that ultimately AA is the entity that charged me for the tickets (and I intend to file a dispute with my credit card company), but this is just shameful customer service from Expedia's top tier of "Support." While they admit their agent mistakenly led me to believe that I'd receive a refund and highlighted no risks, they refuse to provide any assistance in resolving the matter with AA or even offer a "make good" coupon / credit for their bad advice and our subsequent troubles.

This was an extremely disappointing experience and costly lesson that had a negative impact on us financially and required hours and hours of escalations and remaining on hold. It showed just how poorly Expedia responds when things get bad. After many years of being a customer, this is one service we will not be returning to.

Today we are forced to use the Internet because local offices are hard to find. We've tried Expedia a few times and were so disappointed we gave up and cancelled our travel plans. It was less stressful to stay home and enjoy whatever we could locally than book something online. I don't know if all online travel agencies are the same, Expedia is the only one we've tried. Pet Friendly Hotel Scam. We were traveling by car with our 2 dogs. I booked a hotel in Anacortes, Washington (Sunrise Resort) after filtering for "pet-friendly" on Expedia. A fee of $260 Cdn was put on my card immediately since we were only 2 days away from the date. The Sunrise was the 7th booking we had made on this trip and all were pet-friendly. Closer to the date, I phoned the hotel to ask about the pet fee - this had always been separate on this trip. We were told that they had never been pet-friendly. So we asked to cancel and get a refund. No way. They claimed it was an Expedia problem. I spoke to 2 Expedia agents over almost 2 hours. Most of that time I was on hold on my cell phone in the US where I pay roaming charges. Apparently, agents are not allowed to call customers back unless it is a dropped call. Crazy.

Long and short, we were charged $260 and did not have a place to stay. We were told that the refund was up to the hotel, and Expedia could not do anything about it. Later, we search other sites - Google, Booking.com, etc. and all sited the Sunrise as being pet-friendly. The pet fee SHOULD be part of the contract AT THE TIME OF THE BOOKING SO YOU CAN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BOOKED THE RIGHT PLACE AND YOU KNOW WHAT IT WILL COST.

Contacted Expedia again today and am waiting for a response, next step is disputing the charge my credit card, what a ridiculous situation. I would not even think of using Expedia again!

I booked a round trip ticket through Expedia from Seattle to Jacksonville, Florida. When it came time to fly back to Seattle I came to the airport with my two children ages 2 and 4 (something Expedia was well aware of because I bought each child a ticket and indicated their ages) and I was traveling alone with them. The first flight was to go to Detroit and then on to Seattle. I learned that this was not a actually a connection but rather an entirely separate flight. They wanted me to pay two separate baggage fees for each flight since they were technically 2 separate flights (not the round trip tickets I requested and paid for through Expedia and paid an extra service fee to Expedia). Then they wanted me to get off in Detroit, claim my bags, go back to the ticket counter, check the bags again and go through security again to board the next flight to Seattle. This was again because it was a separate flight and not a connection.

This was not what I paid for through Expedia. Yes the airline (Spirit) was awful as well. So when I got to the airport and the flight was delayed there was no way I could make this “separate flight” and there were no other flights to accommodate me with this airline. So I had to stay the night in Jacksonville with my two kids with no accommodations offered by either the airline or Expedia. We then were rebooked on the same flight the next day (the only thing Spirit could do. I then called Expedia. After 3 hours on the phone and speaking with the regional manager (who initially was trying to get us another flight but told me Expedia would have to eat the cost and the cost was too much to get us back to Seattle) told me there was nothing they could do and it was the airline's fault. She would not accommodate us in any way.

We arrived to the airport the next day and as I was checking in the exact same delay occurred (I also learned the exact same delay had occurred the day before we started this process). So three days the same delay occurred. Spirit finally booked us on a Delta flight and I had to pay baggage fees again since I had already paid on Spirit, Delta told me I still had to pay them and pursue Spirit. In the end, I did not get what I paid for and no accommodations were offered. My father had an equally bad experience with Expedia just three weeks prior to this. Overall, an awful experience and something should be done to prevent things like this.

At that moment I called an Expedia representative to cancel and make corrections. The rep informed me that they could refund me but would keep $200 of the refund due to their cancelation policy. I was stunned! I spoke with 3-4 different representatives within the 3 days following. I was told at first they could not do the full refund, then I was told they would within the next 24 hours. I called within the 24 hour time frame. The rep I spoke with informed me she would give $50 of the $200. I held on for 40 minutes until they finally agreed to pay the full amount. I was sent a confirmation email after 40 minutes of haggling. Word of advice, they will refund you but you must be persistent. They are ripoffs and I'll never do a reservation with them.

If I could rate ZERO I would. Booked a hotel through Expedia and was sent an email on the total price. My card was charged and additional $185 for booking fees. Ridiculous amount! Approximately 50 per night extra just to book through Expedia. Booking directly with the hotel would have been less expensive. I called to dispute and 1hr and 40 minutes, 4 people later and and passed from Expedia to Orbitz as they each site claimed the reservation was made by the other affiliate. AFTER all that - the best they could do was give a "credit".

Requested a refund and was told I would have to continue to hold and speak to another supervisor for a refund investigation. I am sure the long wait, layers of people is Expedia's way of frustrating customers to give up on complaints. VERY dishonest company and never recommend anyone to use Expedia to book anything! Positive if a refund was granted it would have taken weeks to show on my statement and most likely additional phone calls. Very disappointing. This company has been permitted to rob people and allowed to continue as a legitimate business.

On March 12th when I booked the two rooms and price matched I paid May 11th $179.28, May 12th $71.28, May 13th $71.28 with a tax/fee of $43.07 per room for a grand total paid $672.72, $440.02 was paid in points and $232.70 was charged to my Expedia card with a fee due at property of $251.70.

This equals a difference of $206.44 which Expedia refuses to refund because they can't complete elementary school mathematics and understand the difference in the price. 5 months ago I booked a cruise through Expedia. I didn't do it because it was cheaper than other booking sites (it wasn't). I booked it through Expedia because they offered a $200 onboard credit if I paid using my MasterCard. Done. I paid the booking in full using my MasterCard and filled out the redemption form... couldn't wait for all the drinks and daycare this would afford me!

Fast forward 5 months and I'm on day 2 of my 8 day cruise. Still no credit! Using the cruise lines' phone, I spent 30 minutes (20 of which was on hold) talking to Expedia customer service to learn that because I purchased an upgrade using a Visa card (my daily roller) I was immediately disqualified for the $200 credit. To clarify, because I bought something EXTRA, I was disqualified for the benefit of my previous purchase. That's like a grocery store refusing to honor a "buy one get one free" deal because you bought 3 instead of 2.

Not only because I feel like I got swindled out of $200 that I was promised, nor because I was forced to spend 20 minutes listening to that blaring and atrocious "on-hold" music (so, so bad! ), but because I feel like I can no longer trust Expedia to honor their promises, I am rating them 1 star and have no intention in giving them my business ever again.

Now my parents have been getting the run around about getting their money refunded. It's been 3-4 months, and still no reimbursement. It started with several calls and constant back and forth with Expedia and Philippine Airlines, and to my knowledge is still the same issue of laying blame on who/how to reimburse my parents. When I explained, he put me back on hold to contact the hotel. He came back to tell me that (as I previously stated) the hotel knew about all of this. Then he placed me on hold again. When he returned he stated this is because the hotel put him on hold and he had no choice but to put me on hold once again. At this point I have been on the phone for over 40 minutes for no reason. I emailed hotel to add spa treatments and they emailed me back saying they didn’t have our booking. So after a week of calling and chasing this up myself with Expedia they assured me and confirmed my booking again. Yet even after all our conversations and my concern about the reservation we arrived in Marrakech at Riad and they DID NOT have our reservation and no rooms available.

They tried to find us other accommodation but of course all 5* hotels in the area were fully booked now due to short notice. She found us a riad luckily in the end so we had a place to sleep at least.. But I spend lots of time doing research and of course it’s not the riad I booked. I can not stress enough how upset I am about having our holiday absolutely ruined like this. We are parents to young children and do not get much time away to holiday and were very much looking forward to a relaxing break. And that is the last thing our arrival was by any means.

Not to even mention the huge phone bill I now have too for calling them for an hour and switching data on to find a place to stay and rectify the problem. This is totally unacceptable, yet it’s taken me emailing them for another week since getting home to be offered a voucher of £25 towards any future bookings...as if I’ll book with them ever again?!!! Then it’s been ‘upgraded’ as a gesture of ‘goodwill’ to a £50 refund on booking... My phone bill alone is £111?! Absolutely terrible don’t book with them if you can help it!!!!

We recently booked an expensive travel deal air and hotels included with Expedia for 2 weeks traveling from San Francisco to Tokyo Japan. We booked early in February for a trip in June. In early May we received an email from Expedia said due to some schedule changes made by the airline our itinerary has changed and Expedia has “accepted the changes on your behalf (meaning our behalf)”. We looked at the new itinerary and every has been changed with awkward hours from extremely early departure flight time to super long layover wait time at airport on our returning flight. Basically a very crude travel itinerary no way would have picked at the beginning especially we have to travel with young children.

We called Expedia - demanded assistance to change things to better options that would fit us. Basically they said no as that would cost us additional money and blamed the situation to the airline for making those changes. We contacted Air Canada (the airline) to investigate. Air Canada admitted they did have some schedule changes made but confirmed that they always granted Expedia a one time free pass to work with the customer (us) to select alternative flights that would best fit their needs. However Expedia never did contact us throughout those occasions and decided to make the new flight itinerary for us **?

Basically they charged us full money and in the middle of the contract change everything with downgraded awkward unpopular service choices that obviously no one wanted. Worse they refused to make it right did not allow us to cancel the trip (knowing we signed a non refundable purchase) and forced us to basically take it or leave it?? They made us wait so many painful hours on the phones passing us to various agents, supervisors, corporate customer service yet unable to explain or send us concrete evidence where they have disclosed that kind of unfair practices. They treat it like a done deal and nothing else they can do regardless what kind of negative situation they would leave us in.

We contacted our credit card company and they agreed this is clearly and bad business practice and an qualified transaction to file a dispute. However we will risk going through a long disputing process while we have to spend new large amount of money to rebook the trip elsewhere which is getting more expensive. We already booked some local tours and services that we can’t cancel the whole trip plus it’s not easy to request PTOs for us. This is a real nightmare for us. The public must be aware with shady business practices as such... Be careful dealing with Expedia!!

However, my recent experience has made me doubtful that I will ever use Expedia again. 2 days before my return flight from a vacation, Expedia emailed me saying there were changes to my flight, and when I called them they said that all flights from Air Canada had been cancelled, so they had moved my flight to the following day. They said that I would have to either pay for an extra night at a hotel, or book another flight with a different airline at my own cost.

They told me there was nothing they could do and I would not be reimbursed for any changes to my itinerary. When I asked whether Air Canada would be able to do anything, Expedia said it would be a waste of my time to call them and that they would just defer me back to Expedia. Luckily, I ended up calling Air Canada and they were just as confused as I was about why Expedia said there weren't any other flights that day (there were), but they did a great job of sorting out an alternative flight for me at no extra cost.

In summary, if something happens to your travel plans with Expedia, they will hold no responsibility for it and will refuse to reimburse you for changes beyond your control. I highly advise booking through a different travel website or through the airline/hotel directly--at least they will give you the customer service you not only deserve, but should be entitled to when spending your hard-earned money.

After being speaking with an agent and being on hold for +35min they told me the cost to change the reservation for flights would be almost $500 instead of the expected ~$150 (accounting for the change fee and ticket price difference). After challenging their figure and nearly 1 hr on the phone, they did concede the point and only charged me the correct amount.

They said the super shuttle in Mexico said they did pick us up and Expedia believed them over us. We ended up paying for for transportation twice. Expedia was very rude and unprofessional.

I booked for a hotel room for the firefighter convention in Indy on 4/8/19 for $264.42. Expedia kicked in the wrong date on the reservation 9:34am. 3 minutes later, I quickly cancelled the room at 9:37am. Emails confirm this. Yet, I don't get a refund. My email from them states, "Your Room Has Been Cancelled". You figure only 3 mins elapsed from when I reserved the room to when I cancelled. I also then reserved another room for the date I needed through Expedia, which was double the price.

2 weeks later, I noticed the cancelled room was still charged to my credit card. I called Expedia 4/22/19. I spoke to a lady, who did not speak very good English. She tried calling the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites. The lady from Expedia stated he Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites manager wasn't there and they would email me. The next day I get an email, Expedia said it was not cancelled within their time frame. This is even though Expedia's system kicked back the wrong date and 3 minutes later I cancelled it.

4/23/19 I call Expedia back and talked with manager, who didn't speak very good English. He says there is no record I called on 4/22/2019, even though I received 2 emails from them since the last time I called. Then he calls Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites again. They say no refund. Expedia tells me they are going to investigate and can determine if it was something on their end or my error and get back to me in 72 hrs.

If they are not sophisticated enough to know the I called on 4/22/19 how are they going to be sophisticated enough to do a thorough investigation? Expedia told me it was my fault and no refund. Now I am disputing the $265.42 charge for a hotel room I cancelled and did not stay in with my credit card company. Needless to say this was my first time using Expedia and it will be my LAST!!

Booked a car through Expedia (in addition to the flight) and paid for the car insurance at the time of booking as Expedia advertised that I would get a discount if I pay through them. When I arrived at the airport to pick up the car the agent said that the insurance that I paid to Expedia does not show up in their system and that I have to pay the insurance directly to them! So naturally I paid thinking that there must be a mistake and that I would contact Expedia later and they would surely refund me.

I emailed Expedia support and after more than 2 weeks of waiting, I get a very short email saying that someone from their end called the agent and he told them that he honored the insurance I paid through them! I then followed up with another email showing them the payments that I made on Expedia with their promised price and the credit card statement showing what I paid to the car rental agent.

Another short email from Expedia telling me to show proof that I actually paid for insurance. So they basically threw it back at me instead of asking the agent to show them proof that they honored the payment I made on Expedia and to have some sort of process to make sure that agents do honor the payments made on Expedia. Instead they hope people would just give up. Needless to say that I have been booking with Expedia for years for me, my family, and my friends and so after receiving this horrible response I decided not to do business with them again.

A few days after my initial booking I had to change my flight to leave earlier to back to London quicker to see my dying Father In Law. I called Expedia and after an hour they were able to change the outward journey, and an email confirmation was sent. Over 24 hrs later I received an email saying that there was a problem with the booking.

My husband called Expedia and found out that they had not booked the flights and also messed up on the additional costs. We spent 7 hrs on the telephone despite the fact that they admitted liability. We were bounced from one person to another while they were consulting with Corporate Headquarters. They messed around for so long and were so inept at organising anything that they were unable to rectify the booking. By the time they agreed to give us the flights for the price quoted the cost had risen 4K and they refused to honor our booking.

After 7 hours on the phone they offered a full refund and then we got cut off. Back on the phone to yet another person and finally rang off after so much frustration. We called back again the next day to ensure that we were indeed getting a refund and we are back into the same cycle. NO ONE taking any responsibility. We have had to book at VAST expense other tickets and have now been fobbed off again saying they will look into this. I cannot believe the utter ineptitude for EXPEDIA totally messing up our booking and NOT taking any responsibility. I will never use them again and we are now $3K in debt for their complete failure to do a basic booking for a flight change.

Four days later, I received an email advising my seat assignments were cancelled. I went immediately to the airline website and discovered that the only seats I can choose are center seats, not together and that I can UPGRADE to Main Cabin for $49. I already paid to Upgrade to Main Cabin. After spending hours on hold, explaining over and over again to employees in call centers located in India--their method of breaking you down seems to be to spend hours talking in circles, saying nothing and then repeating back to you a different story than you just told them...

Anyway, an Escalation Supervisor offered to pay me $150 to refund the Upgrade Fee and for my inconvenience. Great but I'm looking forward to a miserable flight that I could book on any other travel site today for half the price. The following day I received a call from another Escalation Supervisor advising they cancelled my "request for a refund" BECAUSE and he actually said this, I had upgraded from Economy to Economy and seat assignments are not guaranteed. I fly all over the world all the time and I have never, ever had anything like this happen before. This was the worst travel agency I dealt with. Their customer service is so horrible and they don't know what they are talking about and no records of any customer interaction. Every agent tells a different statement and kept the customer on hold for hours. I booked an India trip with them 3 months prior to the travel and after 20 days airlines canceled one of the flight and I called them to check what's going on.

Day 1: I was kept on hold for 3 hours and they told they need to submit some documentation with carrier to get me an alternative flight and told me to call back after 48 hours. Day 2 : I again called them and I was on hold for 5 hours and now the agent was telling me that there is no details on the interaction I had on Friday and they started again looking and finally told me that there are no seats available or no flights so I need to cancel and request for a refund so that they can help in booking another flight which is obviously 700$ more than the flight I booked and they are asking me to pay for that.

Why am I liable for the cancellation of flight done by the airline. So I called the airline to confirm whether the Expedia agent was saying right or not. The Air France agent told me that they are working on accommodating all the customers to a different flight so they want me to hold on to few more days (which is totally different from what I heard from Expedia agent) and they couldn't assist me further and asked me to contact the ticketing agency.

She investigated and said it was because the flights were from two different airlines yet the site let me choose them. Then she switched the flights around and in the process of this whole ordeal the flights went up almost 500 for the four flights. She tried too many times and had my credit card locked out again! I recently booked a flight with Expedia.co.uk and they are not transparent with the charges during the booking. Expedia UK provides you a price in GBP and when you actually book a flight you end up paying in GBP. I recently booked a flight for £783.51 and at no point it was mentioned that the airline I chose was charging in Euros and that the GBP price quoted is an estimate. I used my credit card to pay £783.51 and when my credit card statement arrived I was shocked to see that the amount paid was in Euro. And I was charged €913.72 plus non-sterling transaction fee of £21.55. Firstly, I lost out on the exchange rate as the credit card companies never offer good exchange rates - the exchange rate applied was 1.1662 when it was 1.1862 on that day.

If I was to pay €913.72 @ the correct exchange rate of 1.1862 I would have paid only £770.29. I therefore lost out £13.22 straight away on the exchange rate! Added to that a non-sterling transaction fee of £21.55. My total loss was £34.77. When I contacted Expedia they pointed me to a clause 3.1 in their huge list of Terms and Conditions (which apparently I accepted) and said that they are not liable for these fees and that the price in GBP was an estimate. This is ridiculous as they were never transparent about the charges. I feel cheated! Their terms and conditions are on https://www.expedia.co.uk/p/support/general-booking-conditions.

I also booked my accommodation through Airbnb and they quoted me a price in GBP for a Euro destination and that is what I paid. The conversion etc was already applied by Airbnb and I knew exactly what I was paying for my accommodation - there were no conversion or any non-sterling transaction fees whatsoever. This is what I mean by transparency. Expedia are a bunch of cheats. They are never transparent about their prices.

I gave feedback to Expedia that perhaps they should not include such properties on their website, and that they should vet these places a bit more carefully.

Unfortunately, if you want to go a hotel that has flexibility, don't go to the Knutsford Court in Kingston. Expedia should also learn to put up several more prompts for the buyer to know clearly that this property makes absolutely no changes. Any changes are at the buyer's own risk. I had to write a review to highlight the amazing customer service I had with Expedia yesterday. I am heading to San Diego, but due to illness and a doctor's appointment, I had to delay my trip by one day. I called to switch my hotel reservation and spoke with Eric. He said that normally, the hotel won't make any changes and will still charge me for the extra night, but said he'd speak with them to try and make the change anyway. After waiting on hold for a bit, Eric came back on to say that he'd convinced the hotel to make the change and give me a refund for the night I wouldn't be there! I was so grateful! It's so refreshing to have people like Eric working in customer service. He truly understand what it is to provide amazing customer service!

I experienced the same problem like many other Expedia customers with respect to get the last minute travel problem I experienced to be resolved on a timely fashion and to be able to travel. After spending over ten (10) hours between incompetent and useless Expedia staff and the airline representative where the air ticket was issued from the airline back and forth for resolving a simple correction problem on missing two letters from my first name. I bought the ticket from Expedia a week ago. Even though on Expedia site my profile information section my first name was written correctly, the ticket was issued with two letters missing. After I booked the flight, when I received the confirmation from Expedia I only looked the dates I am travelling not the section towards to bottom of the page where traveler name is written, until the day before travelling for checking in.

The day before my travel, I tried to check in with the airline. However, I couldn't check in. I called the airline where the ticket was issued and I was going to travel with. The airline representative told me to call the travel agency-Expedia- to correct the missing two letters from my first name. I called Expedia. Expedia Representative called the airline to correct the problem. Following that Expedia Representative requested me to provide a copy of my passport. He sent me an e-mail. I immediately responded and provided a copy of my passport. The Representative told me the problem will be resolved very shortly, (7) hours before my departure time. Someone from Expedia called me an hour later on spelling on my reservation with the airline cannot be corrected. He told me I should call the airline directly.

I called the Airline directly. Airline Representative told me that they were awaiting a copy of my passport from Expedia. I called back Expedia. Expedia Representative called the Airline again and talked to airline. Then Expedia Representative told me that I should call the Airline again. This back and forth travel problem solving approach of Expedia, like a ping ball, took (12 )hours, and two letters couldn't be corrected on my reservation and I couldn't make my flight. I purchased Travel Protection Plan when I purchased the ticket based on Expedia's suggested advertisement, if there is a problem with your travel travel insurance will help you with rebooking and refund, which is absolutely useless insurance policy and not helpful at all. It only works for dead or emergency hospitalization kind of circumstances.

Finally, Expedia Corporate Representative told me that it was my fault not to check the itinerary’s bottom part for my name. As other people suggested, and I 100% agree with them, do not buy tickets or make hotel reservations through Expedia or other online travel agencies. Go on airline and hotels website direct page and purchase it directly from the airline or from the hotel. When problem arise on your travel plans you can talk directly with the airline to solve the problem. Not waste hours and hours on the telephone between Expedia and the airline or hotel. The travel insurance they advertise on their website and when you decided to buy that insurance it would be a backstop for your travel problem, but it is not.

I normally don't write reviews anywhere but I want to warn anyone who is thinking that you are getting a good deals buying plane tickets via Expedia, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG!!!! First of all the price is the same as if you buy them directly from the hotel website or airline website. They have many hidden information about fees here and there, and asked you to buy flight protection with a note "Full Refund". And when you do need to cancel the ticket, they ask you for a death certificate!!! Seriously? Anyone has to die to get the ticket money back?

Ok, then they charge you the penalty fee (you already paid USD$100 for the travel protection hoping that you don't get charged if you were to cancel the ticket). Fine it is what it is as they said "The airline is charging you, not Expedia. We are only the "mediator". Ok. Then about the refund, their customer representative says "it will take 3 to 4 months time for the amount to go back to your account. I completely understand that it is your hard earned money but it's the airline again..." I was charged over USD $2500 and seriously....I didn't get on to the flight and also I have to wait 3 to 4 months to get the money back only because I thought Expedia was a good site to get the tickets.

I booked a room with the Hampton Hilton at the Gatwick airport through Expedia using the online app. It was later in the day that I realized that the app had defaulted the date to an earlier search and the new date had not been selected. I called Expedia to make the correction and was informed that they would need to call the hotel to confirm a change to the correct date - this change took nearly a week, three calls and a couple of email to make.

I have been an Expedia customer for years and was very disappointed at the amount of time and effort it took to make the change. My advice to users is to be very certain that the app has entered the dates correctly before clicking the approve button. The online app must collect cookies that store previous information entered and if you are not careful populate the current search. I am very disappointed that the change from such an error took so much effort to correct - after all, I was continuing with the booking, just for a different date. I wasn't canceling outright.

What was the point of buying traveler's insurance if they did nothing to actually help us. Furthermore, we have received no help or compensation from Expedia. On Sunday, March 31, 2019 we booked a trip through an Expedia agent (via telephone) to Rome. We purposely CALLED to ensure that our seats were together and to pick the exact package that we saw on-line. We spent over an hour meticulously spelling out details (because the agent was of a different nationality). When we received the email confirmation, one of our names was spelled incorrectly. We immediately called back and were told we would have to call the following day (Monday). We called back on Monday and was told that they were unable to fix THEIR error without charging us an additional $200. We told them to cancel the trip because it was within the 24 hour cancellation period. The agent informed us that she could not do that and that all they could cancel was the hotel and shuttle service.

Collectively we spent most of Monday on the phone with agent after agent before finally speaking with a supervisor who assured us that we would receive a full refund. The following day, our credit card was credited for the hotel and shuttle but not the flights. We called Expedia customer service again and were told that the flights were non-refundable. After an additional two hours on the phone and a second supervisor (Gray) we were told that she would fix it for us with no penalty. We insisted on an email confirmation and she agreed. A week later we called to follow up because we still had no refund posted to our credit card for the airfare. We called Expedia today and were informed that the flights were never canceled and that we would not be getting a refund. Another hour on the phone and a third supervisor (Gabby) later, we are told we should be getting a FULL refund.

We again requested an email confirmation (for what it is worth which is apparently NOTHING). Let me just say that we are DONE dealing with this company and if we are not credited with a full refund we will forward all the emails to our credit card company for handling and will take whatever legal action that is available to us. Rest assured, I will WHATEVER IT TAKES in legal fees to ensure that Expedia is held responsible for their mistake and that they honor their repeated promises of a full refund. THIS IS beyond RIDICULOUS. ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Thanks, Expedia for ruining our dream vacation.

Tried to get us to do multiple stops, different days (ie: shortening our holiday), etc. We have a condo booked that we've paid for (can't get money back for unused days) and we both have a work schedule that we have to abide by. They would find us one that was acceptable to us, put us on hold for ages and then come back to say that that one was no longer available!

This happened again and again for hours. They were just talking us in circles. The Max 8 debacle has caused a lot of headaches for everyone but how difficult is it in this day and age to send an email out ASAP so that we could've been on this 10 days earlier!! Very poor customer service. We demanded a refund (could be up to 8 weeks before we see our money) and we booked through Alaska for substantially more money than we'd paid back in Oct when we booked our holiday. So much for planning and organization. We are very very unhappy customers and we will NEVER use Expedia again. We will also be spreading the word. Beware of 3rd party bookings!!!!

I was never told that they would not honor Red Lion's policies. Later, I had to cancel my rooms to find out that they would not honor the 48 hour cancellation policy. When I finally got a hold of Red Lion I was told that my reservation was under Expedia. I never talked to Expedia. When I called them they told me that they did not have a reservation for me and that I needed to call Reservations.com.

I have since found out that Red Lion is using Expedia to book their rooms, but it is under Reservations.com. It is a total scam as it is not told to customers, and Reservations.com does not honor the policies. However, when I filed fraud charges against Red Lion, it is Expedia that is providing the supporting documents. I find this funny since when I tried to talk to them earlier they knew nothing of my reservation. I feel that the public needs to know the partnership that Red Lion and Expedia have going. I lost out on almost 250.00 from their scam. This was also because they charged me in full for my parent's room as well. So I ended up paying for two rooms.

I have been an Expedia customer for years, having booked tens of thousands of dollars in various travel over the last 15 years or so. I have always been basically happy with the service. We recently took a trip to New York City, and I booked some activities through them. In this case, I had booked the One World Observatory, a Harbor Cruise and the Metropolitan Museum of Art with the guided audio tour. I didn't double check the email receipt, because, well, why should I? The many, many times before I had always gotten what I ordered. The day of our travel I went to download our vouchers. Even though I use the app, I like having them as backup. Well, I couldn't find the voucher for the Met. I called Expedia and we found out that in lieu of the Met, the website had inadvertently booked the One World Observatory twice.

I went ahead and re-booked the Met and the Expedia agent said he would work on getting a refund. Well, they ended up emailing me and saying that there would be no refund. I replied that this was the result of an Expedia website glitch, and they responded again, "Sorry, no refund." I tried again going through their online customer service. I pointed out that I had been a long time customer, and at the least they could offer me a credit towards future travel. Their response? "Nope, no refund." It was basically like, we don't CARE if you are a long time customer and too bad if it was a website glitch, no refund. We're talking $73 dollars, and they didn't care one bit that they could lose a long time customer. Well, they have lost one. A company with this sort of attitude deserves to go out of business.

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. To make a long story short, I had to make a last minute hotel reservation for 4 colleagues and myself. I found a hotel and made reservations for 5 rooms 3 nights and a few hours later I saw a better deal and since the rooms were selling fast I decided to book 5 rooms at a different hotel. But before doing so I called Expedia to find out if I would be able to cancel without penalty which I was told I had until 6pm to cancel without penalty, mind you it was about 1:30pm.

After consulting with my colleagues we decided to go with the 1st choice therefore I went online to cancel the second hotel. As soon as I canceled the 1st room I realized I was being refunded partially so I immediately called Expedia and after reviewing the first call I placed the agent explained there was a misunderstanding because when I called to inquire about the refund policy it sounded like was actually asking just for the 1st hotel and it did not apply to the rooms I was actually trying to cancel.

I FULLY RECOGNIZE THAT I DID NOT READ THE REFUND POLICY. My issue was that I called to understand why I was being refunded only half of the price and after they explained to me the reason as to why, the agent took it upon himself to say that despite the misunderstanding I will get a refund and that he needed to get I touch with the hotel and Expedia will would get back to me. At that point I did not bother trying to cancel it myself online because he was going to take care of it.

Since I had not heard back from them I decided to call back the following day and again I was reassured that I would get a refund. So now it’s been 5 days and I received an email stating that my request is denied and that after being reassured over and over by the agents I spoke with. I called corporate at that point and I did not appreciate how I was treated as if I am illiterate. AGAIN I REPEAT. I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE FACT THAT I DID NOT READ THE REFUND POLICY however I should have not been mislead by the agent who kept on telling me I will be refunded. Had they told me from day 1 that there was a chance I would not get refunded I would have went back online and done it myself and at least get a partial refund for all 5 rooms. Corporate ended up refunding partially 2 rooms after I started getting upset. I think it’s a shame and very unfortunate... It will probably be the last time I use Expedia.

Do NOT use Expedia! Long story: We booked round trip tickets and hotel through Alaska Air VACATIONS which, it turns out is Expedia. The two companies have nothing to do with one another other than Alaska Air allows Expedia to partner with them in ticket sales. (Note: There is nothing on Alaska Air's website that says Alaska Air Vacation is actually Expedia nor when you click on the Vacations button does it tell you that you're being linked to Expedia.)

During our first phone call Expedia arranged our flights and hotel. We purchased super saver seats BUT paid an extra $150 for seat assignments rather than waiting until we got to the airport to get them. When we called five days before our flight to obtain confirmation documents which we had NOT received from both the hotel and Alaska Air we were told we had not purchased assigned seating and needed to pay an additional $300. Odd, because we had been given the seat numbers at the time of purchase and we had document proof of what we paid for the hotel and for the airline tickets.

Talking to the agents yielded no results. The first agent sent us to Alaska Air who, of course, couldn't do anything because the arrangement were through Expedia. The second agent, a supervisor, argued with us. Donna kept talking over us. She interrupted, refused to listen, and did nothing to rectify the situation. We asked for her supervisor and she said there wasn't one there at her office; that the supervisor was in another department and she did not know the name of that person. We were told she would arrange to have him call that evening.

By 9 pm there was no phone call. We called and spoke to another agent who said that the supervisor would call us between 9 and 10pm. Of course, there was no phone call and when we called back at 10pm we were told the department was closed and to expect a phone call within 24 hours which of course never came. We find it strange that Expedia expects customers to stay up all night waiting for their phone call.

Please note: Alaska Air did as much as they could including calling Expedia on our behalf. Alaska Air was very concerned about the issue because their name is associated with Expedia. Alaska Air was told by Expedia that Expedia would call us within 24 hours but of course Expedia did not. Besides that seating fiasco, be aware that Expedia did not forward to Alaska Air wheelchair and special needs accommodations that we requested. We never received a refund nor do we expect to. Apparently cheating customers is how Expedia makes a profit.

This is my WEDDING which you are now ruining because you refuse to tell me why I can’t change my flight. Screw you guys and believe me, I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know to NEVER book through this scam of a website. Hope you guys are happy.

We booked a holiday through Thomas Cook without knowing that they had partnered with Expedia. We compared the holiday we wanted to the same offering as British Airways. Thomas Cook looked to be cheaper by £200 for the same holiday and choose that one. However, once the holiday was booked I noticed there was no mention of luggage on our booking and called Thomas Cook to better understand. The call was routed to India and the team (including the manager) told me the booking was actually Expedia, although that was not made clear at the time I booked it, that our luggage was not included, and we would have to pay for luggage at the airport.

I was furious our booking was with Expedia without telling us, and the manager for Thomas Cook in India was wrong - I could book the luggage online via BA (the flights were with BA). I had to pay £160 per person for one suitcase which made our holiday £320 more expensive. If I had booked the holiday with BA, we would have saved £120 plus, our luggage would have been included, and we would have earned BA points. This is the second time I got caught out with Expedia and I will never use them again- best to stick with a good brand, such as BA.

Found the booking we required online but as it was for 2 couples one with dogs and the other not staying as long we rang customer services. This took over 45 minutes and cost us more for the bookings than shown online. Very difficult to understand the operator too. I won’t be using this agent again. I wanted to give no stars but option not available.

I Paid for extra baggage to Expedia 27.5£ per ticket. The airline got a booking only for flight and I had to pay the fee again directly to the airline. Expedia refused to reimburse the money, and didn't seem surprised when I called.

I hope this is helpful for everyone. Today I tried booking a bundle package through Expedia. After choosing the hotel, flights and car rental- I provided them with my personal information and credit card. I clicked on complete booking and I got an error message to give it a few minutes and try again. I waited a couple of minutes and clicked on complete booking once again. The screen completely freezes on me. After a while the screen comes back up on my personal information but the booking was not complete. I went and checked my bank account and I had pending charges from Expedia. I immediately contacted customer service and they were telling me it was something wrong with either my bank or card. I went to my bank and they told me that there is nothing wrong with my card.

Contacted customer service again and tried completing my booking via the phone instead of the website. I come to find out that the reason why that happened is because they apparently are having issues with Spirit Airlines, the one I choose for my flight. Also because online I chose to protect my flight and rental. He said if you do that then you cannot complete the booking. It made no sense what so ever to have that option on the website if you can’t have it. I went from choosing a non-stop flight to having one with a stop and through America Airlines. Yes, the prices are very affordable when you bundle the flight, hotel and car rental but I think they should pay attention to their website. Change the information that is incorrect.

I bought a ticket on Expedia for TD from Accra, Ghana To London, UK On TAP Air, About 2 months before flight I receive an email from Expedia about schedule change, I think whenever airline change schedule they are allow you to cancel the booking for free. Expedia send out an email to TAP about a refund but never get any response back from them even after 15 days.

Another problem. When I ask them to proceed with a refund they claim you would not get any because actual fare is only $60 and airline cancellation penalty is US$150, But I paid CAD$398 in total. I bought many tickets in life. I always get refund on the basis of full price minus penalty. Never ever get a refund on the basis of fare only, usually fare is less than taxes and fees. If this is the case no one ever get a refund back. I hope Expedia will look in to this matter soon.

I am very cautious and particular. I have booked many flights online. I carefully scrutinize the policies. I confirmed a booking by mistake trying to get to the actual discount offer for hotel if booked with my flight. As soon as I did this I knew I had made a mistake because Expedia’s Price was $700 more than another vendor and I did not intend to buy this ticket. I was shocked and was hoping it was not confirmed but no seconds later I got email confirmation. It was not made clear at all (this info took me 4 hours waiting etc on phone to Expedia customer service representatives talking to multiple different people , having to explain the situation over and over again,) that I had to cancel my purchase on the same day to get a free cancelation.

If I had known this or had a heads up that was easy to see on my confirmation email, I would have cancelled immediately. But I didn’t know it was so time sensitive so I phoned first thing in the morning to see if I could cancel my booking and how much it would cost me. I was told that if I had cancelled on the same day it would have been free but because I hadn’t I would have to pay $260 per person so sorry. I was told that I would have to wait to speak to a supervisor.

I waited for more than 2 hours before I actually spoke to a supervisor who eventually said that the airline would give me a credit for the amount I paid but I would have to pay $70 per person (therefore $210) for changing the flights and I could only redeem this credit if I bought the tickets through Expedia for the same airline!!!! Meaning I would be paying $210 extra and probably get it at the expensive price I paid (if still available. Or even more!!!). No THANKS. I WILL NEVER TRUST EXPEDIA ever again. I think that the company does not have a policy putting the customer first. They do not care or help you if you make a human error. Too bad. So sad if you made a mistake. I think the fine print is so small it is very difficult to find. Not customer friendly and cutthroat. Be careful to use Expedia because if you make an error TOO BAD. You will have to be more careful next time. I advise USE ANOTHER provider!!!!

I recently booked a return flight from Vancouver Canada to Palm Springs. Because it was with Expedia, the flights turned out to be two one way tickets on different airlines with no seat selection because of the rate? The outbound was fine but my return is supposed to be tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. on a non-stop flight to Vancouver.

I was checking on my flight on the internet and couldn't find any listing or reservation. I got a bit concerned and spent over two hours on the phone, with Expedia, Air Canada, customs service, consumer services and waiting on hold. The reason they couldn't find the reservation because the flight had been cancelled and they failed to inform me. Had I gone to the airport I would have not gotten a flight. Because I pursued it, the Air Canada agent re-booked me on another flight, United Airlines with a 3 1/2 hour stopover in San Francisco and then with AIR Canada home.

They moved me up a class so I was able to get seat selection! Wow! It is now less than 24 hours before my flight leaves and I have yet to be informed of my flight being cancelled. Almost a year ago, I had booked my daughter to come to Vancouver via Expedia. The same thing happened. There was a hurricane and they were trying to get people to as soon as possible before it hit. They cancelled the flight and re-booked it two days earlier! No one called my daughter or emailed her and she went to the airport only to find the flight had been cancelled and the re-booking left two days earlier.

They were most uncooperative in re-booking without charging us but still charged us to re-book. We said we weren't notified and they said there is nothing they could do about it. When I spoke to Air Canada they said they hear that complaint from people all the time. They just don't have their act together and there is no follow through. I will never use Expedia again.

I booked and paid for a hotel to attend a wedding that evening. We arrived at the hotel only to find that it was still under construction and NOT OPEN. We had to find and pay for another hotel causing us to miss the wedding. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Expedia. I have yet to be given a refund. Expedia has two different reasons. 1. The hotel is open which is a LIE and 2. No one answers the phone at the property. OF COURSE NO ONE ANSWERS. IT'S NOT OPEN. Expedia when can I have my refund?

I have been okay with Expedia with flights and hotels until recently when they start offerings these condos. Went to Mexico and one night a two bedroom on Expedia was a 1 bed studio. Luckily property was able to accommodate. Another one in Mexico. DID NOT EXIST at address. Expedia did eventually refund as no one could get a hold of the apartment management. Now they start advertising a low rate with a daily property fee. When you click reserve it doubles the nightly property fee and has an itemized variable amount of taxes. This is true on all condos I check in Seattle while looking right now. I must say this is probably not a mistake and more of manipulation of price.

Twice I have booked through Expedia, both times terrible. First time the hotel had no hot water, the next time... pictures of the hotel on the website were just fake. Completely run down and so much illegal activity and surrounded by strip clubs. Never book through them.
