I booked an accommodation for F1 weekend at a decent price in downtown Montreal. I bought the non refundable tickets to the F1 race after securing an affordable accommodation. The host canceled and I was left with limited options and surged prices given the popularity of the weekend (double what I originally paid). I provided this rationale and an option to Booking’s customer service and asked them to cover the difference given the issue that was beyond my control and they offered an option of a booking that was not even remotely comparable (unsafe and undesirable) or if I didn’t like that a mere equivalent of $40 CAD toward another accommodation when I would be out of pocket over $500 for real comparables. So I had to just book elsewhere. If you need a reliable booking service with good customer service that are reasonable when issues like this happen with their booking hosts - this would not be the company to book with.

I have never been so disappointed and disgusted with a booking. I have booked all my travel with Booking.com and have always been accommodated. Also at the the time of my booking it is clear the policy and procedures of the property. Easy communication with the property. Not this booking. The property refuses to modify booking but no refund for cancellation. The property refuses to answer phone calls or any correspondence. The text exchange is juvenile. You have my money. Refuse to modify dates or entertain the conversation. This is my last interaction with booking.com.

I am very disappointed based on the booking that I've made vs the car I received. My booking was for Audi A3 or similar and when I reached the Alamo rental car location, I was given a Hyundai Elantra (lowest model option), and was told this is the similar car. The associate bluntly told me that I can pay additional for an upgrade if I wanted. Very dissatisfied with the service plus false advertisement. The employee even stated that they don't have Audi A3 or any luxury vehicles at their location. I could have paid less elsewhere with the same amount of money I paid through Booking.com. I travel quite a bit throughout the year but not sure if I'll ever book another rental car using this website after this incident.

Booking.com is great as long as you do not dispute a service. Once you have booked consider it sunk costs. I added an updated arrival time for a taxi which was acknowledged by booking.com and the cabbie was going to be two hours late because they had not read the update. Too bad said booking.com, I still owed the money when I wanted to cancel versus wait two hours. Come on! Also had a terrible tour and they said too bad. Advice is to use their site to research which tours are popular etc and then book direct or via viator. Buyer beware!!

The property charged me in advance for 5 nights through the Booking.com website, then canceled just three hours before check-in. It’s completely unacceptable that fake properties can advertise on their platform and have access to the customer's credit cards. I’ve been calling customer service for the past 20 days and still haven’t received my refund.

Inconsistent cancellation policy, terrible communication and lack of follow up. Per the website and Japan Air, could cancel my flight reservation within 24 hours which I double checked before booking. Called to cancel the next day within 24 hours and was told this wasn't possible despite providing a link to both websites that state their policies. Spoke directly to Japan Airlines which said Booking.com would have to cancel since they were the vendor. Booking.com said the 24 hour cancellation policy only applies if you book directly with Japan Airlines, which there is no documentation of in their policy. I was told a specific supervisor was assigned to deal with our issue, whom called once on a Saturday at 6:30am from Sweden, which I missed.
Racked up $60 in international call fees trying to contact this specific manager back in Sweden who never returned my call. Was told they would call back on a certain date at a certain time. Never happened. Called the customer service line and was again given the same message, that it could only be dealt with by "Rishika". Sent about 4 emails to Booking.com customer service with only automatic replies back. I have used this platform for years but will never use them again. We ended up surrendering and requesting a tax refund back which gave us a 50% refund, but still lost over $800 due to this policy inconsistency. Beware of their claims to cancellation. They do not follow through and will not communicate with you as promised. The amount of stress and money this platform has cost is not worth it.

Why was I bait and switched for the condo that I requested? I wanted an oceanfront that was shown to me on the web (31 pics) and after I reserved you gave me a parking lot view condo with no view of the ocean, just a parking lot. Please explain. I have called and Emailed to ask a reason for the switch and have not received an answer. Be careful of what you think that you are getting.

We went on a trip and used them twice for two different hotels. Both hotels charged us again at check in even though we had paid in advance through Booking.com. We were double charged at both hotels. After probably 12 phone calls, poor customer service, and hours of wasted time and being put on hold and hung up on multiple times finally got the money back from one of the double charges but months later we are still out $100 it seems we’ll never get back. I will never use this company again.

If only there were a zero star rating, I would give that to Booking.com. This company seems unwilling to help their customers when they make a mistake on a hotel booking. They clearly booked us the wrong room yesterday and the hotel was unable to move us to the room we had actually booked because they were completely full. It was my husband and It's one night away from our kids and we had many hotels to choose from. I spent over an hour on the phone with Booking.com. Initially, they did not even offer to refund us any money and instead cancelled our reservation (we had already checked in) and said they would book us another room elsewhere. Literally ALL the hotels in the surrounding area were completely full due to it being a holiday weekend so we were unable to stay anywhere else.
In the end they refused to compensate us anything more than $100 for the mistake that THEY made and I had to fight for any sort of compensation at all. The hotel room was $530 and so $100 for the wrong room (which was significantly downgraded compared to the one we originally booked) and all the time spent on the phone is ridiculous. The hotel seemed willing to work with us, however, because we booked through booking.com their hands were tied. Lesson learned. I will NEVER use booking.com again. Beyond horrible customer service and it ruined our one night away. Attached are pictures of the room we were supposed to have from the website versus the room we received.

This is the worst customer service. The hotel refused to rent the room to my son even though they had a vacancy. After waiting 30 minutes, I was able to talk to a customer service rep that was in Japan and I could tell she didn’t understand English when I was trying to explain the situation. Claim there was not a supervisor for me to talk to And told me I had to get a refund from the hotel. The hotel told me I had to get my refund from Booking.com. I ended up having to dispute it through my bank.! Worst experience ever!

We own a cabin and I thought it may be a good idea to list our property with them, boy was I wrong! After going thru their setup they kept telling me my account was not active. After 2 weeks of trying to jump thru their hoops I just gave up. Then I received 2 messages from 2 different guests stating they had booked my property. How was that possible when I was being told it wasn't active?? They had not even accepted my banking information to forward me payments. The dates they took money for had been booked months earlier thru another site which Booking.com had been given my calendar link. I advised the 2 sets of guests to cancel their stay and get their money back as they were not actually booked at my property and may get put at some other property.
Booking.com does not provide a phone # you have to search the internet and start calling any you may happen to find. If you are able to get thru they don't help you, they tell you they have to call back for verification, I have been waiting for 3 days and still no contact from them. They tell the guests in an email to contact the property owner for a refund but they have the money not the owners! We don't get paid for 7 to 10 days AFTER guests have checked in. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Please do not use this company.

If I could give Booking.com Zero stars or worse I would. They do not care to fix the issue I had regarding the lack of safety in the room I booked. They will not provide a refund and the two times that I called them, the call was magically lost out of the blue before I could receive any help at all. I have messaged not only the property but also booking.com and have been given no help. We never stayed at the booking because there was no locks on any room doors and at least 4 other people living in the house. Apparently they were long term tenants as per the property owners. I explained to them that if something were to happen that they would be liable for not having locks on any room doors. Their explanation was, the previous long term tenants had a child that would lock the doors so they had them taken off. Do not use booking.com. They will not help you if something goes wrong.

I had a terrible experience with this hotel booking company. I received a confirmation email for my hotel stay, which clearly stated my reservation was confirmed. However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that the booking had been declined due to non-payment — something I was never notified about. This is completely unacceptable and misleading. A confirmation should mean the reservation is secured — not that I’m going to be left scrambling for a room after a long day of travel.
What made things worse was the lack of support. I contacted customer service, and not only was the response slow, but there was no clear accountability or resolution offered. I was left to make alternate arrangements at the last minute, which were more expensive and completely avoidable had the booking platform done its job. This experience was stressful, frustrating, and incredibly disappointing. I will not be using this company again, and I strongly advise others to double-check their bookings directly with the hotel — because clearly, this platform can’t be trusted to follow through on its own confirmations.

My flight ended up costing double what I paid because Booking.com didn't warn me that if one leg of a multi-leg flight was cancelled by the operator, Booking.com wouldn't reroute the flight. Had used this site several times until recently. I booked a condo for June 7th. On May 22nd Booking went to charge my card and the fraud protection on my ONLY credit was flag and declined the charge. I immediately called my card and told them it was a legitimate charge. My card company told me to call Booking or go back online to reprocess the charge. I did. The website would not let me reprocess the charge. I called. I talked to someone who sent me another link to try which I did. It didn't work. I called again in which I explain I only have one card. I was told I had to use another form of payment.
I could not use my debit card because I had just paid bills. I asked what I could do, and, verbatim, was told "well you are going to lose your reservation then there is nothing I can do." I said it was not my fault the fraud protection went off in the first place. I being penalized for my card being a good card service. So I cancelled the reservation and my account with Booking. I won't be using them again.

The reviews on their site are not accurate. I booked the Clarion hotel in Muscle Shoals, AL that was listed as 7.4 "GOOD" and the hotel was literally barely functional. The parking lot was filled with weeds between the cracks of the broken pavement. Signs were everywhere warning about leaving valuables in cars and the risk of break-in. And from there, it only got worse.
Inside, the hotel looked abandoned. From what I could tell, ONE WOMAN was running the entire place. She was check-in, housekeeping, room service (if you can call it that) and everything else. I got the key to my room and walked down a hallway to it that appeared not to have been cleaned in months. The room itself stank of mold and mildew. The TV had no remote, so I called down to get another one. The same woman came up with one and I clicked "Power"... only to find that the cable didn't work. I open my drapes to see two men fighting in the parking lot. I decide (like any human being with common sense) to leave.
I drive to Florence across the river and explain to Booking.com the conditions I experienced. They promise to "look into it and make things right." What do they do? Nothing. No refund, no credit... nothing. Yes, this was a non-refundable booking but based on the pictures being accurate and the hotel being safe. Neither was.
For my following trip, I had also booked a night at the LaQuinta Airport Nashville. It's listed as an "8.1" VERY GOOD on their site, so I go ahead and book it. Keep in mind, this happened before my trip to Muscle Shoals, so now I'm leery and decide to check other reviews. Not only does the place have a problem with bed bugs, but it also has issues with car break-in's on the property, and is under renovation. The hotel is a mess, and the ONLY SITE that rates it this high... is of course, Booking.com.
In the meantime, my wife has a spider bite that becomes badly infected and she can't walk well as a result, so I ask Booking.com and the hotel if I can cancel my booking. They agree to! I get a refund! Hallelujah, right? Wrong. I get a $2.50 refund for each night. I'm out several hundred dollars because of how they misrepresent their properties. I will never EVER use Booking.com again. In my opinion, they don't care about your stay or the actual condition of your hotel, or even if you are safe where they send you. They just want their money. Never again.

Unfortunately, I had to book my two night stay at the San Teodoro on Korcula (Island), Croatia through Booking.com. Every time I tried to go directly to their website it resorted to a Booking.com hosted site. My wife and I were vacationing in Croatia this past mid-April and upon arrival to Split, we were supposed to ferry from Split to Korcula the next morning. Due to strong southern winds, all ferry services from Split to Korcula, and actually all ferry services to all of the islands was canceled for the next three days. There was absolutely no way for us to get to Korcula to use our reservation. Well, unless we could have prophesized the intervention of "Mother Nature" 15 days from when our reservation was, and canceled, Booking.com is still going to charge you - even if you have absolutely 0% control. Thus, I would urge anybody thinking of using Booking.com to reconsider - given their absurd, no excuses - fourteen day cancelation policy. I wish I could give no stars...Booking.com appear unwilling or unable to offer help or support when a booking goes wrong. We booked Best City Home Near Checkpoint Charlie (it is nowhere near by the way) in Berlin for a week to support our daughter after an operation. We messaged frequently, explaining our plane would not arrive until after the (extremely brief) check in window. They informed us eventually that they could not allow our daughter to check in for us, nor could they change the day of our booking. Our only option was to cancel and hope that they could resell the booking. They told us that they would let us know 24 hours before whether we could check in late. Less than 24 hours before, our daughter phoned them. They then messaged us to say we could not book in that day. We had assumed and indicated in our message that we would then check in the next day.
We woke up this morning after sleeping on our daughter's floor to find out that they had cancelled our booking, recording it as no show. The apartment is re advertised on the site, booking.com customer services spoke to us on the phone but all they can do is ask for our money to be refunded. It appears that they cannot insist that we be allowed access to the apartment for which we have paid, nor can they insist that we get our money back. We have nowhere to stay and our money is gone. I’ve been a loyal Booking.com user for over 10 years and have always had positive experiences—until recently. Two weeks ago, I accidentally made a hotel reservation in Istanbul, and my credit card was charged without requiring the CVV code. I immediately contacted Booking.com customer service to request assistance, including a waiver and free cancellation. Unfortunately, their response was extremely disappointing. Instead of offering real help, they simply sent back a generic, standard reply. They made no effort to engage with the hotel on my behalf, offer a credit, or explore any form of resolution. We're talking about a $540 charge.
I followed up with an email on April 28 and again on May 6—both were ignored. I finally had to call on May 8, only to receive the same canned response yet again. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to help from Booking.com's customer service has been incredibly frustrating. After this experience, I no longer trust Booking.com and will not be using their services in the future.

I am extremely dissatisfied with Booking.com. As a host, my experience has been incredibly frustrating, unprofessional, and ultimately damaging to my business. I recently had a guest stay at my property without any issues or concerns, yet despite this, Booking.com has failed to pay me for the reservation. This delay in payment has caused me significant financial harm. To make matters worse, the communication and documentation related to the booking were inexplicably erased from the platform. This deceptive practice only raises concerns about the transparency and integrity of your operations.
Adding to my frustration, when I contact the customer service team, I am repeatedly told that I will receive a call back for “security measures.” However, these promised callbacks never come, which seems to be nothing more than an attempt to get me off the phone without resolving the issue. When I do manage to speak to someone, the representatives barely speak English, making it difficult to understand them, and they seem to be unable to provide any meaningful assistance. I am instead bombarded with generic, copy-pasted responses that do nothing to address my concerns. The worst part is that the customer service team claims that my issue is being forwarded to a “specialized team,” but I have yet to hear back from them or see any progress on my issue in over a month.
I am deeply disappointed with the lack of transparency, support, and integrity displayed by Booking.com. It has become clear to me that this platform is not equipped to handle the needs of hosts, and I would strongly advise you to consider alternative services such as VRBO or Airbnb, where the level of service and professionalism is far superior. This is the absolute worst vacation rental service platform ever to exist!

I have been using Booking.com for many many years now. I’m a genius level member and used to have good experiences. Now that I have higher standards and are making better money, I realize that booking.com is for people who can’t afford to pay upfront for their motel room so the patrons treat you as if you’re going to Come and party and trash their place. My most recent experience was through a “Modern” townhouse in Ventura, Ca. My family was going to take a trip. I searched for four bedrooms and found a good location that could house up to eight people.
Two days before my check-in, I reach out to the property to ask if my family member can check in before I get there or do I need to be the one to check us in. At that time I relayed that we would have eight people in our party and I was told the home could only have four people; it’s a townhome with over 20,000 ft.² and four bedrooms but they’re saying that only one person can be in each bedroom? This townhouse in Ventura California Did a shady move and changed information on their posting after I had booked the room so that they wouldn’t have to honor the booking for up to eight people. They claim I only reserved for four people and sent me a cancellation notice immediately.
In my experience if the number of members in your party changes, you can pay for the extra people as long as the housing can accommodate the persons. I stayed on the phone with booking.com customer service for over an hour! while they investigated and confirmed that the information on the posting was changed by the property AFTER I booked. I was put on hold many times and eventually they hung up on me! What great customer service (sarcasm)- so when I called back, I got another customer service rep who said they couldn’t do anything for me when the gentleman prior had said he would be able to pay the difference for another lodging since it was such short notice and I experienced these issues with this patron changing information on their site after I booked!
I have family members canceling because of the change in price of our lodging and now my trip is a mess. If something seems too good to be true. It sure in the hell is! I thought I had a great place to stay for a great price for my family and our vacation. Boy was I wrong! I expect better from a patron and especially from booking.com when I have been a dedicated and frequent customer for YEARS.
I’m an avid traveler, and I’ve started flying again and I will no longer use booking.com for these services either. I will no longer be using their services for anything. I’ve had enough disappointment with them in this past year. I will book directly through the hotel because that is the best way to get the accommodation you need or I will book a VRBO. Just like the commercial says- if you book a VRBO you don’t have to worry about being squished or having separate lodging. You can enjoy spacious accommodations and not have to worry about shady patrons changing things as they feel during bookings.
I no longer need booking.com to reserve rooms in which I don’t have to pay anything upfront. I sure hope that I can get a refund quickly since I paid full price in advance for our lodging and now I have to wait a few days to get refunded while I find another place that I have to pay upfront for. Thank goodness I can afford this. I would feel very bad for those who couldn’t and I’m sure that happens often. I will take my business where I am appreciated and treated like a valued customer with respect. This current situation is ridiculous and it’s not my first issue with staying at places through Booking.com. This was the last straw. I’m definitely feeling the difference between lower income and higher income brackets. Thank goodness I’m on the higher income bracket now and those days are over.

Booked air tickets through Booking.com but due to death in a family, I asked them to refund or give credit note. They refused to do it citing airline policy. I reached out to the airline and they said they would have refunded immediately if it was booked directly but now it was up to Booking.com to refund the money. I called booking.com again but they refused to accommodate even though their policy says that they will refund in such circumstances. Bottom line - Never buy flight tickets through booking.com. The tickets might be cheaper by few dollars but experience is much more expensive and not worth it. The matter has been escalated.

Looking at a hotel on Booking.com? DON'T DO IT. If you have an issue it will be about impossible to get it fixed. I booked a room for two nights but needed to change the dates, tried to go back in and fix it but had zero luck. I called Booking.com to try to straighten it out but had zero success, I will give a list of numbers that will get you nowhere. 800-497-2175 888-850-3958 800-906-2871. A representative that you can barely understand will give you the run around and then tell you to call the hotel and try to change the date or cancel. The hotel will tell you there is nothing they can do as the room was booked through a third party and to contact Booking.com. So, long story short they cost me $263.22 for a room I never stayed in.
Booking.com/help will also get you zip nor will reservations@hotelplanner.com. I spent a lot of time trying to get this fixed and of course as it was charged to my credit card I thought that disputing the charge would help. Nope. Booking.com said the charge was legit as I didn't cancel the room. Obviously I tried many times to cancel online and using their "customer service" numbers.

I had a horrible experience with FlightNetwork (operated by Gotogate). I booked a flight through Booking.com, and FlightNetwork/Gotogate was the third-party agent. Immediately after booking, I realized I was charged a different price than what was shown, so I cancelled the ticket within minutes — well within the 24-hour free cancellation window.
That was over a month ago, and I am still waiting for a refund of $2,541.46 CAD. Air Canada confirmed in writing that they never received the funds, and therefore can’t process a refund. Meanwhile, FlightNetwork/Gotogate keeps sending generic, templated replies saying the refund is “being processed” or “pending,” blaming the airline — even though the airline never received the payment.
This has been a ridiculous loop of excuses, blame-shifting, and zero accountability. Their customer service is virtually useless, and they hide behind Booking.com and other platforms. I’ve filed formal complaints with CIBC, the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA), and other regulators. No consumer should be treated like this. Avoid FlightNetwork and Gotogate at all costs. If you see them listed as the travel agent on any site, run. They don’t care about customer service or integrity — they just want your money.

I will never use Booking.com again. After my fully paid reservation ($2,247.98) was canceled without warning for a busy convention weekend, I was left scrambling to find a new place at a much higher price. That was frustrating enough, but the real nightmare started when I tried to get help. I spent hours trying to reach someone—most of the phone numbers listed don’t work or loop you in circles. When I finally found a number that connected, I waited forever just to get through. In the middle of explaining my situation to a customer service rep, the call suddenly disconnected—no callback, no resolution, just dead air. To this day, I still haven’t received my refund or a clear explanation. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and nonexistent support are unacceptable. Booking.com has completely lost my trust—they’ve made a stressful situation worse, and I’ll be warning others to steer clear.

In December of 2024 I booked a place in Washington DC for March of 2025 (Spring Break). Two days before my trip (the day after my credit card was charged) I received a message that my accommodations were cancelled because they had "overbooked." I quickly messaged them what was going on, and received a message 2 days later that said that they had a leak and had to have work done. Different stories, don't think either are true. Booking.com was great helping me book another location that was similar to my first booking, but that location contacted me later that day to say they couldn't accommodate my whole trip. At this point I found a third location and booked it.
Now, I had already had to rebook my flight to come in the next day, so this was already quite an issue. The third location (Mary's Stay H St Corridor 759 18th Street Northeast, Northeast, Washington, D.C., DC 20002) hadn't sent me any information to check in so I sent them a message. When I didn't hear anything, a couple hours later I called them. I was told that they had NO RECORD of my reservation, and that they would look into it. When I never heard back from them I cancelled my reservation and my trip. When I asked for a refund, I was completely ignored. I contacted Booking.com again and they contacted the site. Mary's Stay H St Corridor even told Booking.com that they had no record of my reservation, but they still have not returned my communications and have also NOT returned my money. They said they needed to run my social security number if I use debit and only when my credit pass is when I can rent from them. I could not get a car and never have I been asked for my SSN for a car rental. It 1 worker in there and the office was empty. No other employees or computers. It looked like a scam office under Budget and Avis.
While I was there for about 2 hours I saw several families come in stating that someone had taken their money and to pick up the car which the worker said wasn't in their system. My Mom then tried to make a reservation through the website because I maxed my credit card and was waiting for the refund. Stay at 626 Kent Street SE, Atlanta, GA via Booking.com: While Sean (owner?) might have been accommodating to a point, the house was not. There was no on-site parking per se, there was only on street parking. The on-street parking was only on one side of the street as if you parked on the other side of the street, no one would be able to drive down the road as the road was very narrow. Garbage cans were left in front of the house so if you wanted to park in front, you could not have. The ad stated "With free private parking; Parking, Parking on site, Private Parking, Free parking". There was no "private parking".
The yard was the size of a postage stamp and extremely hilly. There were string lights throughout the backyard which we were not informed of, nor did they work. If you came in at dark and did not know they were there, your head would be detached. The BBQ area was a joke and was a tetanus experiment gone awry. It was so rusted that I am surprised it was still standing. The fire pit was in the same condition; completely rusted out and filled with water. The two patio chairs were filthy and it would have taken more than a rinse with a hose to get them cleaned. As there was no designated “eating area,” you had to use the “desk” area which was a joke. It was a high table on wheels which presented a danger. It had wheels and would roll without warning. The chairs/stools where uneven and the tops spun wherein you could literally spin off the stool. Again, very dangerous.
The bathroom was another issue altogether. The toilet was broken wherein you could not flush it via the handle but had to take the tank lid off and do it manually. The toilet seat was not the proper size as it was too small for the size of the toilet. It was comparable to a kid’s potty seat. Sean had notified us of the toilet flush handle when we got there via email through booking.com and wanted us to wait for his plumber. Not happening. I am not paid to wait for a plumber to fix something that should have been done before we got there.
Checkout was 11 a.m. and check in was at 3 p.m. He had enough time to get a plumber. He stated that the former renter had broken the toilet but this was untrue as the flush handle was rusted which caused it to break. I do not think anyone was staying there in quite a while as the air was stale and smelled moldy. The unit did have an air dehumidifier in it which was not on and once it was on, the air did clear after a few hours.
There were cobwebs in the corners, and dust on the ceiling fan and light fixture in the bedroom. There was no mattress cover nor pillow covers just sheets which to me is quite unhealthy. The closet door was locked so there was no storage except for a clothing rack on wheels. The kitchen and bathroom floor grout looked like it was never cleaned; they were disgustingly dirty.
The television was another cluster. I had to call Sean twice to get the TVs to work and even after I called him twice to try to get them to work, they did not so I gave up trying. If there was a property manager/maintenance crew taking care of this home, they should be fired. As a manager/maintenance crew they would have seen that things needed to be done before a “tenant” could occupy the premises and avoid the above issues. You would think that the air conditioner/heat would have been on and the refrigerator turned on before guests arrive but that was not the case. It was very disappointing and we left the next day. We would have been better off in a motel/hotel. As to booking.com, they really should inspect the properties that they are advertising as the pictures lie quite well as well as the owners of these properties. Embarrassment to anyone that advertises these properties without thorough vetting of the properties and/or owners.

I updated the credit card information, using a different card just in case, but they still couldn't see the updated card on their end. I've had a lot of ads annoying enough that I swore to never use them, but I've never been pushed to leave a bad review. Our current state of society with incessant waterboarding of capitalism is tiresome. It used to be we would get 15 minutes of our program and a few minutes of ads; now it's every click. Even just pausing a YouTube video brings up an ad. Shame on any business that buys into this model, and shame on youtube and other media for allowing their love of money to perpetuate a cycle of insanity. Kill the algorithm, and many more.

Now they refuse my refund and stated they did not care and would not give my refund unless I booked with them again right there and then which would have blocked my credit card for over $400. I said yes so I could find another place. Got to end of cancelation and was charged 150 dollars. Booking.com said, "It's policy." I have used them prior 7 times and had to cancel twice. No problems. No charges. It listed on my credit card as a flight reservation cancel. I didn't book a flight. I live an hour from hotel. Nowhere on web page did it list a cancelation fee. On 4/7/25 I made a 2 night reservation on Booking.com. I discovered an error I made, booking one day in advance of my visit to the motel. I called Booking.com and the motel less than an hour after the actual booking. The motel was unable to help per the fact it was booked with a third party over whom they have no control. Booking.com dug in and said their policy prohibits changes, the motel is the one who can resolve this, blamed me for the error, and politely evaded any assistance saying this problem couldn't or wouldn't be escalated to resolve the issue. Eventually, the motel worked with me to attempt to mitigate the issue. They also gave me a better rate than Booking.com. I am working with my credit card company to dispute the charge. My opinion/recommendation to others is: 1) Delete the Booking.com app if you have it.
2) Just go online to their website and gather the information you need on your lodging options. 3) Call the lodging provider directly yourself and negotiate your own rate. You will likely get as good or a better rate doing so. The lodging provider likely has to pay Booking.com in some manner, anyway. The lodging provider will treat you much better with problems than Booking.com will and no one will be profiting off an error you make. The lodging provider will be much more flexible with you and will likely speak better English too. I found all this out too late. Don't put yourself in a position to learn this lesson the hard way, too.

We called to get our money back, but was told 10 business days to put the money back on our card. I have booked vacation condos through them before, but they were in living conditions. This hotel was deployable. I hope they honor their word to reimburse because the young lady said no refunds, but the hotel said money back within 15 minutes of check-in. We called them and said they would refund the money. It took a few minutes to withdraw money from our account, but takes 10 days to get it back. That's ridiculous! I don't think that we will ever book through them ever again. She had enough nerve to ask us if we wanted help finding another motel. We graciously declined. We decided that our best bet was to drive out of the Atlanta area and stay, and drive in for the funeral the next morning.

Despite charging my card, Booking.com could not guarantee that the quoted price would be the final amount. When I attempted to raise a complaint, I was directed to complete a lengthy and frustrating claims process. Eventually, my case was closed without a clear resolution or explanation. Furthermore, they placed the responsibility on me to contact the rental car company directly. In my view, Booking.com functions merely as a middleman, profiting from customers while providing little to no support when issues arise. Buyer Beware: Booking.com Failed Me Completely. I’ve been a loyal Booking.com customer for over a decade, but after this experience, I cannot in good faith recommend their services. I booked a flight through Booking.com, received a confirmation code, and thought all was set. However, at check-in, I discovered there was no flight due to a payment issue—something Booking.com ignored entirely. When I contacted them, they told me to call the airline, which informed me that the booking was canceled due to a payment problem on Booking.com’s end. Back to square one with Booking.com, I was met with dismissive responses and empty assurances that my case was being handled. Despite multiple calls and promises that I would be rebooked on my original flight, I woke up to an email stating there was a "technical error" and my money was being refunded. They ghosted me after my flight departed, leaving me stranded.
Adding insult to injury, I had also booked a non-refundable hotel through Booking.com. While the hotel was gracious enough to cancel my reservation at no charge when I explained the situation, Booking.com refused to help or reimburse me. I requested compensation for additional flights and a missed tour, totaling $650. Their response? A claim form with a promise of a decision within 14 days. It has now been over six weeks, and I’ve received nothing but silence. This entire ordeal has made it clear that Booking.com prioritizes profits over customer care. If something goes wrong, don't expect them to solve the problem. My advice: think twice before trusting them with your travel plans. Book directly with airlines and confirm your bookings before committing to anything non-refundable.

To this day, no one has. They took my money and they did not pay the hotel which I consider a scam. Shame on you, Booking.com. You lost a valuable customer who is a lifelong traveler. This is March and still no reply from customer service.

Absolutely horrible experience with Booking.com. If zero stars were possible! Needed to cancel reservation within 48 hour window. They said that only the hotel could cancel my booking; they would email the hotel. Hotel did not have that email. Contacted booking.com again--another 20 minute wait. Oh, the hotel should have the email. Try again. Hotel had no email. Contacted booking.com again--another 20 minute wait. Give hotel this email address to send cancellation to. Hotel clerk, Darren, whom I got to know very well, did so. Nothing from booking.com. Reservation still there, uncanceled.
After my trip, staying at another hotel, my reservation was still there. Contacted booking.com again--another 20 minute wait. They said to contact the hotel. Hotel had a cancellation number, apparently from booking.com. Contacted booking.com again--another 20 minute wait. They did not accept the cancellation number--THEIR cancellation number. Said if only, oh, oh, if only the hotel would contact us, the hotel is at fault. They just REFUSE to contact us.... Called hotel. They had contacted booking.com many times. Darren said, "You know, nothing is up to us and this is all normal with booking.com. They control the bookings. They should just cancel for you." Contacted my credit card company as last hope to cancel the charge. Will see.

If you have a Booking.com App, DELETE IT! They are the worst company. It is impossible to speak with a human. They finally sent me number and it was a number for the Netherlands. They do not have an 800#. Their responses basically say too bad, after they have taken your money. I booked a room, but stuck in a blizzard one hour later. Obviously, I knew I wouldn't make it another two hours to the hotel, so I called to cancel. The Sleep Inn & Suites Omaha Airport, was equally awful. I called immediately (one hour after the reservation) and explained the situation. The person who answered the desk said "non-refundable" and hung up. This happened 3 times. I tried Booking.com and got absolutely nowhere.

So I book through Booking.com when no other options are available. I went to Greece and was there on the 28 of Feb 2025, when Greece has strikes and protests that I was unaware of, however the people and businesses were aware. I booked for a hotel and a boat to get there but was not able to go due to the strikes. I was charged and paid for the rooms to stay, but since I could not stay, booking.com will not allow me to leave a review about getting ripped off. Also booking.com does not allow screenshots it seems. I agree with the protesters after I found out why, but I should not take the loss for this situation. I should also be able to leave a review about getting ripped off.

No emails were sent that they were canceled! I don’t usually write reviews but this business is POOR!!

Booking.com is a scam and a fraud. They charged me money for a hotel that I did not reserve, I didn't stay in. And then customer service had me on the phone for in half an hour asking me for my social security number over the phone and then when I didn't want to give it he said put your information into this affirm. What is that? They wanted me to smile for the camera, send a picture of my ID and another thing but I wasn't going to do that. It is a fraud. It's a hoax. You don't get to talk to anybody real. They're in it together with the hotels and they rob people.

So I booked an apartment in Miami called dt.miami for 1 week for 1300$. 1 week before my stay after dt Miami already took my money began to private message me to ask me for my credit card to confirm my stay. So I got a little nervous and started to do a little digging about DT Miami. Come to find out it was actually a scam! I reached out to speak to Booking.com, which was hell on earth to get their phone number! Finally, after being passed around to multiple different people come to find out that they did know. They just didn't bother to let me know.... Considering the fact that the company is based out of the UK maybe they should stay in the UK so that they can confirm their listings...
Once I finally got a hold of someone who could help me. She suggested that I reached out to my bank to get a refund which I did not get... I spent an hour and a half on the phone with Booking.com for them to just suggest that they would "" give me a discount on a different rental after waiting on the phone for over an hour. She suggested a space that was just not acceptable.... She also assured me that since they were so nice that they were gonna cancel my reservation for DT Miami at no cost to me.... Gee thanks.... I will never ever ever use Booking.com again! By the way to add insult in injury if you didn't know international phone calls will cost you over $100 to sit on hold so thank you Booking.com.!!!

I swear to God, I have never will use Booking.com again. I booked the flight, car, and Hotel through booking.com. Unfortunately, because of the tornado, my flight was canceled several times. When I called them about the rental car, they told me my reservation number was not correct, so I gave up on my rental car, and I paid again for the vehicle. The worst part of my story is when I arrived In Allentown, Pennsylvania, in the middle of a cold night; when I went to my hotel (Holiday Hotel), they didn't give me my room, which I had b reserved for a week stay, and I had paid the whole cost an advance. Their excuse was that I didn't check in the first day, so they gave my room to someone else. When I asked for my money, they said to ask for Booking.com. In the middle of the snowy night, I was looking for a hotel. How hard was it?

So we travelled to Vancouver last week. In December we had booked a place for our trip. Two days prior to our departure, we were advised that the initial place that we booked was no longer available however, they had placed us at another location. When we arrived we went to check in, and I noticed the place where they had booked us was a condo. Upon reaching the unit, we were greeted by a tenant who was very confused as to why we were there. I called the company, and was hung up on 7 times, until someone emailed us saying they found another place close by. Upon reaching the next location, the interior was a complete mess, towels everywhere, beds were not made, and there was garbage all over the bathroom floor. I reached out again, to complain about the conditions of this location and was told there was nothing they were able to do about it.
Suffice it to say, this was the worst experience my family and I ever had. I would not recommend booking thru this company as they do not know what they are doing. We ended up booking ourselves into a hotel for the duration of our stay. Their customer service is poor and cannot even help anyone when there is a need to.

I have had problems with both my reservations through Booking.com. First place you can't get ahold of them. It's almost impossible to reach a person and when you do that rude. I bought a room with a Jacuzzi. Never get many vacations and one of my main things if I wanted was a jacuzzi tub. Motel has not had Jacuzzi rooms for years but yet I was charged for a premium room. Fortunately when I got to the motel and told him that my problem they took a hundred dollars off the price. From now on I'll do my own research or call the hotel directly. Also, there were prices were higher than what I could book myself. That doesn't make any sense. I thought the idea was to get cheaper rooms. After reading several reviews from different sites highest rating I could find was 2.5.

Tried to contact customer service because I didn’t receive a confirmation email. Can’t get through to customer service because I don’t have confirmation or pin number but they won’t send me the email. Went round and round with robots through email asking me for my information over and over again and never got anywhere with them. Do not use Booking.com. Please book directly through the hotels. Don’t have to learn from your mistake like I did.

I will NEVER use Booking.com again. They do NOT stand behind their bookings, and once you get to the hotel, everything magically changes from what you originally reserved. It's as if the info on their site is completely inaccurate. When I called customer service to resolve the issue, the representatives were absolutely useless — no real help at all. And when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told she "wasn't going to take the call." Seriously? That's the kind of customer service they offer! If you want a stress-free and professional experience, use Hotels.com instead. They are way more reliable, and they actually care about fixing problems when something goes wrong. Don't waste your time or money with Booking.com!

As a result, I was forced to pay for the room again at the hotel's front desk. When I contacted (link unavailable)'s customer support, they were unhelpful and unable to resolve the issue. It's been weeks since my stay, and I still haven't received a refund for the duplicate payment. We booked two rooms in Miami Beach, FL for January 1 and 2, 2025. The name of the residence was "Agave on the Beach". When we arrived, both rooms smelled strongly of mold, the sheets had a lot of hair on them, and the rooms were generally unclean. I immediately called booking.com and told them the mold was making us sick and we couldn't stay at this place. I asked them to cancel and asked for a full refund. The representative said she had to contact property management; after some time, the response came that the offer was to "deep clean" the rooms THE NEXT DAY. We said this was unacceptable as we couldn't stay there. Booking.com said I couldn't get a refund because I had failed to cancel the reservation on their terms. This is nonsensical, since the booking was non-refundable.
If the accommodation had been as advertised it would have been one thing, but it was a miserable place. For some odd reason, booking.com put $103 in a "wallet" for me on their site, which is a fraction of the cost of the rooms for two nights and not enough to make up for our having to find another place to stay on New Year's Day. We did find a much nicer place, although not using booking.com. I will never use this company again to book a place to stay, as I have no confidence that they are accurately representing their properties. This place stunk, literally. Also, it is not "on the beach", or even in view of the beach. Please don't waste your money on this. Airbnb or VRBO would have provided customer service; this company is basically a shill for property managers and landlords.

Absolutely horrible experience!!!! I booked flights for my mother and myself through Booking.com in January for a mother/daughter trip to Portugal in April with my two childhood best friends and their moms. I used booking.com only because my mom’s passport had not arrived yet and we wanted to secure seats together as “the moms” aren’t comfortable flying, especially not abroad. The airline changed our flight in early Feb, which was inconvenient but fine. At the end of February I got an email from booking.com that my flight was cancelled. The airline said that it was an issue with booking.com, so I reached out to booking.com and they said they were waiting for the airline to reconfirm the flight.
I’ve called and emailed their customer service so many times and they just tell me I have to keep waiting. It is not the end of March and 4 weeks away from our trip, and our flights still have not be rebooked!!! At this point booking a new flight would mean paying almost 3X the original cost. It is an absolute CRIME that this company exists and can screw people over like this. They are a disgrace of a company and I wish I could send out a worldwide PSA to never book anything through them. They only exist to steal your money and get rich while doing so.

I met Eman ** through a friend. She informed me she works for Booking.com and she can get flights half price if I paid 1000 dollars for a year of service. We started off good. Everything appeared fine. She booked my flights to go and return. She ended up dropping down part time and told me she would be working weekends and Ruby her supervisor would be booking the flights when she is not there. I had just came back from Costa Rica when I had to go back because my grandfather died. I asked her if she can book the flights for my family as well.
She booked about 8 flights that day and told us we would get our return flights the night before our return, I trusted her as she has been booking my flights for a few months and never really had a problem. So now she got a lump sum of money and when it was time to return we couldn’t find her. She didn’t answer any of our calls. We ended up buying our own tickets back. After speaking to multiple people it turned out she has been using her privileges to take people money. She also had me paying in advance to get the cheaper flights for half price. She apparently scammed several people that I have found out about.
