I asked to extended the rental. They agreed but did not told me of the rate changed, double what was in the contract. I should have been better taking their car back and rent another car somewhere else or even at their place would have been cheaper. I call the company and it is a location decision. The staff was even laughing at my name as they could not understand it... REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. PLEASE avoid them at any cost.

This is my first and last time renting from this company. First of all my rental had been prepaid prior to picking up the car. After arriving at the rental agency and told them my rental and rental insurance had been prepaid was told that didn't go thru and it was not all the charges. When turning in the car asked for a receipt and it was given. Imagine my dismay upon my return home to find two different invoices in my email. So I called my credit card company to dispute the charges and was informed of a 3rd totally different amount that was charged to our account. I would like to dispute all the charges on my account except the original amount posted in June of this year. I am a senior citizen and feel that I have been preyed upon my this dishonest company.

Had the car a week. Yesterday afternoon, 10/1/18, car was completely dead when I tried to start. I called the # on agreement as instructed when there is a breakdown. I was put on hold 5 times at what I assume was the Ft. Lauderdale Airport location I rented from. Agent always answered, "Good morning, welcome to ACE, please hold," and placed me on hold before I could get no halfway out of my mouth. Decided to call the nearest location, West Palm Beach, FL. Actually got to talk to someone and explain the situation. She asked the # I called, I told her, (954)764-1008, she stated that is the wrong # and quickly transferred me. As soon as an agent answered I got the same treatment as stated above. After two more times of waiting through the holding period I hung up.
Additionally, I did not leave the lights on or anything else that would have drained the battery. Today's cars shut those things off automatically anyway. I got a jump start from one of the busboys at our resort. Car did start this morning but barely even though I left it running everywhere I went yesterday afternoon. If I miss my flight two days from now due to this car then there's really going to be a problem. I've spent over two hours now dealing with this car issue on my vacation time and haven't even been able to communicate the problem to anyone. Except the one agent who didn't do anything other than transfer me.
At least the car runs once it's started. Guess I'll just have to plan to leave early enough to account for finding a jump start and get to the airport in time. Ridiculous, but I'm not going to spend the two hours driving to and from Ft. Lauderdale let alone however long it would take ACE to resolve if they even would. Based on the other reviews I've read ACE acts with no integrity on their promises to resolve issues. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RENT FROM ACE RENT A CAR. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

DO NOT RENT from ACE. I been disputing a charge on a bill for more than 5 months now and when I finally get to someone I was told that the company I rented from is now close and it was privately own so they can't assist me that I need to dispute the charges with my credit card company. Now I'm stuck with 400.oo worst of bill from E-Z PASS and charges and penalty fee for a E-Z PASS that I was told was on the car and will only be charge if it was use which it was but the company refuse to pay for it so I got 5 bills which I don't mind paying but they refuse to waive the penalty fee. E-Z PASS refuse to waive the penalty fee after I try to dispute the charges. Below is my confirmation:

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! First we had a confirmation to rent a car from someplace in Calgary on JULY 19, 2018, which was a mistake. We called and changed it to the airport, the lady waived the fee. We arrived at the airport, the rental car people said, "We don't have a reservation for you, your car is in the city at a location a half hour away." Already now behind in our schedule, we took an Uber to the city 40$ ride. We arrive, no car, they put us in a minivan and said we won't have any fee to turn it into the airport location on the 26th.
We get to the airport location to turn in the car, we didn't have the original paperwork to look back at it, because we assumed everything would be taken care of. Of course not, arriving back at our hotel we noticed there is a 150$. So now 40$ Uber and 150$ difference is a ton of money. The supervisor Jared drove us to the hotel and promise me he would take it up with his supervisor (re: Uber ride). He has yet to get back with us and we have yet to get our 150$ waived...

I'm a Federal Government traveler and I've been dealing with rental companies for almost 9 years and so far this is the worst. Last week had the worst experience with the ACE company (located in Miami Intl. Airport)... Horrible customer service (very disrespectful) and at the time you get to the front desk they changed the numbers... Not good at all!! And last but not least when I get to the car, the car looked like someone used for a bank robbery the day before!! LOL... Don't try, trust me! Ahh let's not forget that the facilities are way outside of the airport and they looked so weird and suspicious!! I'm still waiting to get my insurance refund and it's being almost two weeks.

Never ever rent from ACE Rent A Car. Having rented hundreds of cars in the US and abroad from almost every major company, I have never seen such unprofessional service. I rented from the Las Vegas airport location. They left me waiting for their shuttle for almost an hour in 106 degree heat. Their phone is on a loop so you cannot reach them by phone. Corporate was aware of this. They then insisted that I not use a debit card and promised to bill the debit card when I returned the car. When returning the car, they refused to use my debit card even though their own notes showed they promised to do so.
As I was waiting, another customer was frustrated that they opened two hours late. I reached out to corporate and spoke with Christina, a manager. She emailed the Las Vegas manager who never returned my call. Christina said there was nothing else she could do. She claimed she had no manager (I'm sure she's not the CEO) and refused to allow me to speak with her manager. I told her I would write a complaint and she said that was fine as she handles all the complaints. Worst company ever!!!

I waited three and a half hours to get my car. I missed half of my father's funeral because of this. They ran out of cars due to overbooking. They had the nerve to tell me that if I got there at my scheduled time I wouldn’t of had to wait over three hours. I was pissed because I showed up 30 min early and waited in line for two and a half hours before I even made it to the counter. I was charged more than the original price I was quoted online and couldn’t do anything about. If I knew my way around Ft. Lauderdale I would of left and went somewhere else. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! They are rude, understaffed, overcharge you, and take hours to get you your car.

Do not be fooled by the low prices. I booked and paid for a Ford Explorer from ACE through their website to be picked up in Santiago International Airport, Dominican Republic weeks in advance. Upon arrival I went straight to the counter and informed the agent on duty that I had a reservation and gave him my information. He looked at his monitor and after 2 minutes staring at his monitor he tells me that they don't have a car for me. I started to panic because that was my only form of transportation and I didn't tell anyone I was coming.
This agent didn't seem to care and all he offered was to give me a vehicle that wasn't even there and I had to wait for them to bring. I was so upset that I told him to cancel my reservation and he told me they couldn't do it and I had to call the customer service number in the U.S. I called the 844-874-3966 several times until I got someone and asked for a refund on August 17th, 2018 and today is August 22nd, 2018 and still no refund. I've called several times today with no luck. This company is dishonest and their customer service is horrible. STAY AWAY!!!

I hired a car at Toulouse airport France via Expedia and on arriving at the desk, the salesperson suggested that for Euro 3 per day extra I could upgrade to a larger car. The upgrade was actually a Fiat 500. Is there actually any car that is smaller than a Fiat 500? I sincerely doubt it. Then the sales person presented me with a sheet of paper with a long list of items that I would be responsible for if I didn't take up their insurance of €18 per day. This list included all parts of the car and I was told that I would be responsible for any breakdowns, towing, mechanical problems etc. as well of course as any damage to the vehicle.
Despite me saying that my credit card already gave me insurance, she still persisted in saying that I should take their insurance to make sure I was fully covered. After declining the first time she then offered a lower rate of euro 14 a day. I did accept this but of course I should not have done this and relied on my credit card insurance instead. I would recommend never using this company because of their high pressure sales tactics which means that you will end up paying MORE than you would with one of the other major rental companies.

Rented a car from Saint Pete Clearwater airport. They are N0T at airport as we paid for airport taxes which to leave car at airport for an early flight. They scam you 20$ to leave car at airport. Joke! Car we got was dirty first observation then the gas tank was half full. Lady says no worries bring it back half full. Which when you are refilling how can one know where half is so of course they got car back with more gas than we got it. Then on Sun Pass we paid for and as we drive thru the toll it says STOP pay toll! The topper some dog hair on seat send us a $150 fee to vacuum car! Are you kidding me.
Probably a 5 minute job. Which if the woman who checked car said of you should vacuum car or there is a big fee we would have went and done so but any company I have rented from before always takes car to wash and vacuum them out. I should say ALL LEGITIMATE CAR RENTAL COMPANIES!!! They are all about big add on! We paid for the extra insurance then extra Sunpass fees and anything that they could come up with we paid for so there would be no issues and guess what two day rental ended up costing $250 for that I could’ve had a car a nice convertible at any other company for half that price. No it was not a convertible just a beat up mid size clunker. BEWARE!!!

During our trip to Las Vegas wife misplace the set of keys. Had to call office to get a set brought out to hotel. Later she realized she had them in the bottom of her purse just 10 min after they brought a new set. Called office. They instructed us to just bring back when we return car at the end and no charge. We did as they asked. I even went to the manager office in the back, spoke to lady running the show and she said no problem. Had even confirmed the amount I WOULD BE CHARGE. Asked for the receipt. She said, "No, we will email that to you." Right as we get on the plane the email is sent with the $200.00 charge still on the bill. I have tried calling customer service. They will switch me to that location, and guess what? No one ever answers.
However when we had the car they would answer and even knew who we were by our phone number on the caller ID. Tried calling next day same thing and each time I would leave a voice mail to call me back. As of today this has been a real stressful matter that they need to resolve. PLEASE GET ME THE TOP PERSON TO GET RIGHT.

I had a reservation (via Expedia) to pick up a rental car August 4th at the Toronto airport. Knowing it was an off-site rental, I followed the directions on your website to go to where the shuttle was meant to pick customers up. I used the courtesy phones, as directed, to call Ace. I called at least 10 times (the phone ringing 12 times each call) before anyone answered the phone. When someone finally answered, I was told that the shuttle would pick me up in 15 - 20 minutes. No mention was made at that time that there were no cars available. One hour later, I finally gave up on the shuttle and ordered an Über. I reached this decision after noticing that there were at least 30 people waiting for a pick-up and speaking to the driver from another company’s shuttle. He told me that people had been asking him all day and that nobody seemed to actually be doing pickups from Ace.
Upon arrival at your office, the staff members behind the desk were clearly very stressed and unhappy but they were markedly more upbeat than the customers standing and waiting in line, many of whom reported having been there for up to three hours at this point. I joined the queue and for the next thirty minutes, not a single customer was processed. I now believe that what was happening was that the customers at the counter were customers for whom no car was available. The staff members appeared to be paralyzed into inaction, showing no initiative to address the agitated customers who were waiting nor to think creatively about how to service everyone.
After this 90-minute period, an Australian customer came in and made a rather big scene, leaving one young employee close to tears. One of the staff members finally confirmed for all of us standing in line (the first official communication I had had since arriving) that there were no cars available if you had not pre-paid your reservation. I asked if they could form two lines so that they could process the people for whom cars were available and perhaps give a more realistic timeframe for when cars may become available for the rest of us. The staff member told us that this was impossible and that we all just needed to wait our turns.
At this point, it had been almost two hours since I begun the car rental process and the wait had created a situation in which I was running quite late for an engagement. With my daughter outside fearing we would miss our event, she was in tears and I ultimately ended up in tears myself, asking if there may be some hope of getting a car if I came back closer to midnight (after my engagement was planned to finish). My stress had been exacerbated by the many people who had begun to give up and leave without their pre-paid vehicles. All of these people had made plans months in advance and were having to change them because your company had taken our reservations, and in some cases our money, without having sufficient stock to meet your promises.
My story ends in a slightly happier way. The employee at the Discount desk (who until this point had not been helping Ace customers) saw me crying and took pity on me. He got me a car and I was so happy to be one of the people to actually get a car that I didn’t pay adequate attention to what he charged me. Although my reservation through Expedia was for $217.75 USD, I was charged $377 CAD which is significantly more.
Having to return my car on the Monday of a long weekend given my experience on pick-up I left myself 2 hours for the drop-off experience. I am happy that I did because I needed most of it. I arrived back to the office to find that there was no signage as to where I should actually drop the car. After about ten minutes, I finally tracked someone down who could tell me where to park and then headed inside, where I again found a long line that was not moving much. One of the employees finally asked for people dropping off cars to come to the front. I dropped my keys and headed outside to wait for the shuttle, slightly uncomfortable that nobody had checked the condition of the vehicle nor confirmed that I was returning the car with 7/8 of a tank of gas, just as I had picked it up. After 20 minutes of waiting for the shuttle, I finally asked at the desk when I could expect it.
I was told by the woman at the desk that she had only seen the shuttle once all day and that my best bet was to walk to the Delta hotel next door and take their shuttle. The shuttle was due in 25 minutes and I decided to wait for it and am glad that I did, because in that 25 minutes, no Discount/Ace shuttle drove by. Unfortunately, Delta was clearly not on board with Ace passengers taking their shuttle because the shuttle driver was telling passengers that he would not take anyone from Ace Rent A Car. Worried about missing my flight, I felt that my only option was to lie and tell him that I was a hotel guest because for the second time, the advertised shuttle service was not available. Having relayed all of this to the Customer Service e-mail account before business opened yesterday, I have yet to receive any reply.

Went to Hotwire.com to rent a car a sadly got Ace Car Rental in Jacksonville, Florida. First in Hotwire they promote that they give unlimited miles. When you get there, it's not true. They have limited miles. My time was limited so ended up paying an extra $20.00. For extra miles being that it was not unlimited. The car was rented for two days. It is a nonsmoking car which I agreed on being that I don't smoke. Upon returning the car. I return the keys and the female assistant manager inspects the car unaccompanied from my presence and comes back saying and stating that the car was smoked in. Only to charge $200.00 extra dollars from my credit card. I ended up calling the police only to find out that I would have to go to small claims court. To dispute the issue. People be aware... Always review the car with the car rental agent. Take photos before and after.

I am not looking for restitution. The sole purpose of this complaint summary is to warn other consumers of the deceitful and corrupt practices conducted at the PTY ACE Rent A Car agency, the lack of support from the corporate (headquarters) office, and their customer support team. My fiancée and I planned a trip to Panama to visit her family, she arrived one week before me, we researched various travel websites to keep our vacation affordable. When we decided to book with ACE it was based on the terms we found on their website. The total came out to around $350.00 ($200.90 for the rental and est. $150.00 for insurance). When my girlfriend and her two kids arrived (July 9, 2018) at the ACE office, the terms and conditions were different from what we saw on their website.
The agency was charging my girlfriend $772.46 for insurance, that is over 3 times the rental price. She was extremely upset and shocked by the upcharge and tried to resolve the issue with the ACE representative, but they refused to give her any support. I tried speaking with the representatives and franchise owner, but they refused to provide support. When I told the owner that what he was doing was criminal he got upset and threaten me if my girlfriend did not return the car. He was in David, Panama (6 hours away). I told him we would return the car when I arrive on July 14, 2018.
Furthermore, the car that she was given is nothing like what was promised, the car was old, dirty, and had many dings and scratches. So, it was okay to return the car earlier but not adjust or prorate the charges. When I arrived, we returned the car, still paid $200.90 for the rental and was told the insurance would be adjusted but it would be adjusted by the owner. We never heard back from the owner. My girlfriend received an email saying they are reviewing the case and would provide a response 2 to 5 business days. We have not heard back from anyone. The owner of the PTY location and his son (Alejandro **) are liars, crooks, and greedy businessmen, the corporate leaders (COO Charlie Mullen and CEO Richard Radzis) do not care if a consumer has a problem with an ACE franchise, and customer care (representative Christina) does not provide support.
If you call customer care they will refer you back to the location, you rented the car. My advice to all consumers traveling to Panama City, Panama and needing a rental car; rent at another location and save yourself the aggravation. This office is only after your money and the owners do not care about customer needs or concerns.

On April 9,2018, I reserved a 12 passenger rental van for a week, starting on July 23, 2018, for a trip to the beach with grandkids. I reserved it more than 3 months in advance, and I paid the full rental fee in advance. Our beach trip is an important tradition for our family, some coming from several states away, and some even from overseas. I made the reservation far in advance and prepaid as I thought it would assure me that the vehicle would be available when I needed it.
I drove to Ace's location a week in advance to 1) be sure I knew the location, and 2) to re-confirm my reservation. When I got there, I was told that the vehicle I had reserved had been rented to a different party, in spite of my long-standing, prepaid reservation. I was offered a 7 passenger minivan instead. And I was not given any advance notice that my reservation was not going to be honored. I cannot safely transport my 9 passenger party in a 7 passenger minivan, so now we must take 2 cars, which was exactly what I wanted to avoid. Not a satisfied customer.

The actual price paid nearly doubled due to extra charges & fees and that Liability Insurance that you do not need because you are already covered by your personal car insurance in addition to your credit card insurance too. Expedia should not be having business with this car rental company probably run by unprofessional/scammers. You will have to take 2 shuttle bus before reaching their office in the street mall and you will wait more than an hour standing under a small waiting shed outside of the main car rental complex on a July Las Vegas warm days for the 2nd shuttle bus to arrive while other rental company has already picked their customers twice.
Only one passenger (driver only) will be accommodated on their 7 passenger mini van that you will only see the company name on the driver T-shirt but not labeled on the vehicle. When you finally arrived at their office you will see a long line up of frustrated customers and again wait for another hour to get the car that has no license plate. The counter lady was rude because she will not give you the car unless you pay that stupid Liability Insurance and fees that you do not need for an extra $15/day plus tax. Upon return, you will be advised they will email you the statement but until now I have not received the statement or final invoice. I will never booked with Expedia or with this car rental company in the future.

However, another man stepped over to her and stated "she is trying to rent a car for someone else". I asked why he would make that accusation. He said: "Well we are giving you a $15,000 car mean we have to make sure you know." I asked, "Is this something you ask every client." He stated: "Yes!" In a very condescending tone. "I mean you can be renting for your brother, who knows. I have make sure." He continued to make comments at which point I had to just remain calm to try to get out of there as soon as possible in order for things not to escalate.
This is extremely offensive. I've been renting cars for 30 years and have never been accused or asked if this car is for someone else. It wasn't a question. It was a statement as if he knew for sure that is what I was doing. There should be some disciplinary action for this behavior and/or ACE should ensure that they do not have staff that are judgmental towards people of **. I felt insulted and discriminated against. I booked a full size car for my vacation last week through Priceline. Ace had a better deal than anyone else. $10 a day. The website told me my total would due at the counter would be just under $100. Excitedly I reserved the deal. Upon my arrival, after riding in two shuttles, I was not greeted by anyone. Two angry women stood outside cussing about the awful treatment they had received. Inside there was a long line and only two counters open. Everyone seemed angry. A young man held up one of the counters for at least 20 minutes. It seemed they had overcharged him for something and he was trying to straighten in out. By the time I reached the counter I already knew this great deal wouldn't be so great. I was charged just under $400, as they require a $200 deposit. This wasn't on the website at all. I paid it and about 30 minutes later my car pulled up.
They only had one young lady checking cars out. My car wasn't clean and the seats were stained but I was tired and took it anyway. Before returning the car I had it washed and vacuumed at a nearby car wash. Upon check in the agent Jorge looked inside the car and before we took ten steps he said he found ashes and would be charging me a $200 smoking fee. I asked him to show me ashes as I don't smoke and I had just left the carwash. Deep in the corner of the center console, underneath the radio was something that appeared to be a cigarette ash. A person would literally have to stick their arm into the dash almost elbow deep to put an ash there. I told Jorge I did not smoke and have never smoked. He hunched his shoulders and said I gotta charge you. So instead of paying 99 bucks, I was charged 299 for my 4 day rental. Ace is a con. Do not fall for the low rate. I have emailed corporate and have heard nothing back as of yet.

If you are considering renting an ACE Rent A Car in Europe, my advice is to run as fast as you can to another company. We recently reserved a car in Barcelona, but when we went to get it, we were informed by their partner agent we needed an international driver's license, or we could not rent the car. We did not have one. We went to six other companies in the Barcelona airport, and all said an international driver's license is not necessary. Trying to call ACE in the US was futile, as no one answered the phone.
I called ACE and they said it says you have to have an international license in the rental agreement, but in the confirmation they sent, no such mention of "important" things to remember for renting a car. Upshot was we paid $400 more to another car rental company, got a car WITHOUT an international driver's license. BTW, the last time we HAD to have an international driver's license was in 1983. Stay away from this company at all costs, and do business with them at your peril. Hopefully they will bankrupt soon, and put their "customers" out of their misery. Total bush league operation. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

I rented a car from ACE Car Rentals at the last minute from Tampa Airport. As I did not have my car insurance policy with me they refused to rent me a car. I had already prepaid for the car so basically held to ransom until I paid over $300 additional dollars for a two week rental for their add on insurance. I have never had to produce a hard copy of proof of insurance at a car rental and it did not say to bring it with me. I have rented cars in Tampa on numerous occasions and this is the first time this has happened. Because the car was prepaid I would have lost the money I had already paid so gave up and paid what I felt was extortion. Stick to the better known companies.

Only choice offered was Ford Escape for $40 a day, twice my reservation amount. Car interior was filthy. So much for ACE ”We’ll get you a clean car statement.” Then I received a ticket due to license plate tags that expired three months ago. Rent 30 cars annually. I have never been forced or bullied into getting Auto Insurance from any other rental agency... The receiving attendant identified the damage once I returned the vehicle. Ace Car Rental Orlando worst ever experience - I have been renting cars in Florida for a number of years. We arrived in December to pick up our car from Ace. When getting out of the shuttle there was a family yelling as they had rented a minivan for the 2 adults and 4 kids and they did not have one for them. :( Upon getting to the counter ourselves we were asked about extra insurance, I gave my Insurance slip and said I have coverage with my company. The agent then proceed to tell us we had to have proof of loss, and without this we would need to purchase the insurance because the proof of loss they were looking for is if the vehicle went down it would cover the rental cost.
We did need to call insurance company. They spoke to them for half an hour trying to explain and we actually had coverage. My niece was not so like she had to pay the extra $150 to get insurance on the car. When asked to see a manager a gentleman from the back come out spoke to us for two minutes when in the back. When I asked to speak with him again they said he was on a conference call and couldn't come out and sent a young guy out to speak with us who is maybe 18 years old. I would not recommend them.

When I brought it back I had my realtor follow me to continue our discussion (so I could return the car on time) as I had unfinished business. Took a peek inside and did not want to wait in line up. So I came back out to finish my business with the realtor. Eventually someone came out and took my documentation and inspected the car for return. By the time I was done with my business went in to sign documentation and it was 2.19 pm so they charged me an additional day at $88.40. She tells me that's fine, but I went to tell her the vehicle was dirty and that the windshield had black tar all over. The girl tells me they just replaced the windshield (window was dirty, definitely not replaced).
Ok, well I guess I will go then. As we start the vehicle it says, low windshield fluid, as we all know when it snows and there is dirt on the road it is a necessity to have window fluid... We continued our drive, didn't last but 30 mins and had to pull over to get fluid for the windows. Next thing, I got pulled over 2 times, luckily never got a ticket, but I was pulled over for the driver side tail light being out. They apparently don't do inspections on their vehicles. They were out of cars and most of the people in line were going back to the terminal to rent from other rental companies. ACE said I could get a 15 passenger van for the same price. I went to look at the van and it was totally blocked in and they were not willing to remove other vans so I could get it out. Also it needed cleaning. I went back to the office and they said they just got a Ford Expedition. I said I would take it. The Expedition was very nice. I returned it on October 29 and turned it in. It is now November 27 and I am still waiting for the $200. refund of the deposit I paid on my credit card. It is not a debit card.
I have talked with the offices in Florida, Denver, and Indianapolis several times and have been referred from one office to another. When I did get through to Denver they said the problem was they had changed credit card companies and there was a backup in getting refunds out. Each time I called I was told they are working on it and I should have it within a week.
Today I was told by Christina in the Indianapolis office that Denver is an independent location and my deposit should have been refunded by now, however she said I am on the list to now have the refund within another week and the reason for the delay is because they switched credit card companies. She told me that only the Denver location can authorize the refund, however on the 16th when I last spoke with Jeannie from Denver she said Allison in Florida was working on it. I have been unable to contact her and have left messages on the message line for a call back within 24 hours. Still waiting to get one.

Even though we had never heard of them, we decided to rent a car from them in Queens, NY because they appeared on Expedia so we figured they must be a reputable brand. What a mistake! This company preys on people through a combination of lies, bait and switch tactics and deceptive business practices. They were rude and unprofessional throughout all of our interactions with them, and they basically lie at every turn in order to con people into paying more than they should pay.
Unfortunately, getting a beat-up car with really low pressure in one of the tires was the least of our problems. Among other things, they made up ridiculous policies that aren't clearly communicated in order to coerce you into purchasing their "optional" insurance coverage under duress, they lied about the original fuel level and mileage on the vehicle they gave us, they asked us to electronically sign things that refer to external documentation that they won't show you, they won't let you speak with a manager unless it's convenient for them and they didn't tell us they would be closed when we returned the car leaving us potentially vulnerable to even more frivolous charges, which is why we took photos and videos of everything. Ultimately, this company doesn't have an ounce of integrity in them and I would recommend using literally any other rental option that you have available to you.

Rented a vehicle through Travelocity. Paid for the vehicle and extra insurance ahead. Got to (Keflavik) Iceland. Rental agent tells me that my extra insurance (collision) is not valid and if I wanted extra insurance I'd have to buy it from them (at $70 USD a day - almost twice as much as the rental). I pulled up the policy I purchased which explicitly states I am covered for collision. He uses several scare tactic examples and implies that if vehicle is damaged in ANY way we would have to repair on our own and pay for in full for ANY damages before we could leave the country. Essentially implying "If you don't buy our insurance and there is any damage then you won't be able to leave the country." Glass, tires, chips, dings - anything. (Funny. That car was all dinged up and it was not repaired before we were assigned it, where'd the repair money go?)
I'd realized they were doing this to EVERY customer there after he stated "Well, you can call your booking and they can refund you the money you paid for that policy. The man before you did the same thing and he got a refund." Uh-huh. Then I watched the next customer at the counter. EVERY customer - a Grand a pop per rental. Stranded at the airport. No reservation elsewhere. 6:00 in the morning. In a foreign country. Rock and a hard place. It's not difficult to figure out that racket. Easy money.
Then he hands us this detailed "damage" sheet of damage to the car already (oh yeah? what'd you do with all the money you collected from any previous renters because the car is still damaged). Reiterates any damage that is not on the inventory would have to be repaired by us alone or paid in full (a scratch = an entire paint job; a low tire = charged for the entire wheel) and to inspect the vehicle fully. Yes, we did. Dark and rainy out - tries to shuffle us out the door without inspecting the car. Nope. It'll be inspected.
On our return at 6:00 a.m. they came out with a light that could illuminate the entire parking lot. My husband stood over the inspector pointing out every ding, scratch, dent, chip and reiterated that that damage was on the inventory and it was pre-existing. He said the investigator got very angry with him. Too bad. Our money not yours. You got enough. THAT car cost me over $1,000 in combined rental - almost $700 for insurance - for less than a week. Don't rent from them. They're extremely unethical and out for money.

We continued to Gainesville and on Sept. 8, 2017 I stopped at Tires Plus to check the tire as all gas stations had long lines and those without gas had no compressor on. I was amazed when Devon, the person that inspected the tires said that the tire needed to be changed; he proceeded to check the rest of the tires and said that all of them had to be changed as they were not safe. He gave me a business card with the name of the Service Manager to give to ACE. I called ACE and spoke with LIV in Orlando. She said I had to return the car there to have it exchanged.
Now, we are in the midst of Hurricane IRMA and I am supposed to drive an unsafe car to Orlando and return to Gainesville with all major highways open to move North only, not South, and then brave the traffic upon my return to Gainesville. I asked why the tires were not inspected and I was told I was supposed to check them before driving the car away. Now, the person at the gate only inspected the car for body damages, not safety issues. I had never heard that a car rental company asks you to check the tires of the vehicle rented; I was under the impression that the law required them to make sure that all safety standard are met, before renting their vehicles.
I asked to speak to a manager but I was told there were none. I wonder how ACE can be in business if it isn't able or willing to guarantee that its cars are safe to drive. I especially wonder about their service department. Who authorized the car to be driven even though, as Tires Plus indicated, all tires had to be changed as the car was unsafe to drive? Needless to say, I do not recommend ACE at all; unsafe cars is not what I am looking for. Service people that seem to neglect important safety issues and customer service that is totally unresponsive to your requests is not what I would expect from a rental company. If it weren't for the current ranking of 1 to 5, I would have given ACE a "ZERO."

Worst rental EVER! The worst problem is that the rental process was a scam. The counter person tried to refuse me the rental car unless I purchased your liability insurance. I had already refused the extra insurances that were covered by my credit card. They added the liability insurance without asking or letting me know. I found it by comparing the price I had a quote for. 99% of folk would have missed this as they also had a security deposit added. Then they told me I had to purchase it or they would not rent me the car. This was taking a long time so I started telling the other customers at the counter that they should check with their credit cards and refuse the extra coverages. They realized they were losing money so they started to work faster to "get me out of there". They also tried to force me to purchase prepaid tolls with a threat of a $25 a day fine if I had any tolls.
They had trouble finding the keys to my car. I think they were trying to get me to upgrade to a better car. Well, not better. It was in the same class as the one I was suppose to get. They probably just wanted more money for it. You have an offsite location. The problem is that it not easy to find the shuttle to the location from the airport. I had to make several phone calls to find out where to go. The airport shuttle drop off (after I returned the car) was really far from our terminal. We had to drag our bags a long way.
Overall, this was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I am planning on telling Priceline that they should either terminate offering rentals for ACE, or had some kind of disclaimer about how bad the Orlando ACE is. Another note: This was not just my experience. The other customers at the counter were also very unhappy. Also, I was very lucky as I was first in line. Extracting money from folks takes time, and there were many people in line behind me that had to wait much longer than I did. It probably took over 40 minutes (I was not timing so I don't know exactly) to get my rental, even though I was first in line.

ACE Car Rental ORLANDO - Totally horrible experience that caused my heartaches & heartaches on my Vacation. From the time we picked up the vehicle and from the time we dropped it off. To start, watch out because this rental attacks you with "YOU Must purchase what they offer..." They overwhelmed you, they're sales people that don't let go until you are completely frustrated. I vacation in May, the charge after all they say YOU NEED/You MUST... It almost double the amount Expedia quoted me on my itinerary. Way too much money for a car rental.
I have rented with other companies and never ever did experience this bad time/ordeal. When the vehicle gets dropped off, they rush you out of there without even giving a receipt, and when asked they so claim they are printing. The SHUTTLE closed the door and was leaving. It is now three months later, and I now have another charge that I tried to dispute but is causing too much trouble again. I WISH no other person goes thru the same bad situation I went thru and put my family thru. DO NOT conduct any business with this Place ACE RENT A CAR.

SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE, NEVER AGAIN. Last February, I have made a reservation with ACE Rent A Car. The total rental cost has been paid the same day. When I got at Goldcar desk (the rental car supplier) at the end of June 2017, there was no car reserved under my name. GoldCar never got my reservation from ACE rent a car and they give me a document to confirm the situation. For the same car category with same coverage, GoldCar were asking for 4,2 times the amount of money I already paid to ACE rent a car.
I tried to phone for 30 minutes ACE rent a car at the number specified on my contract. Nobody to answers. So I spent another 30 minutes of my holiday time to find the best deal among the other rental car companies at the airport. I finally found one at 3,6 times the amount of money I paid ACE rent a car. On my return, I have been in touch with the Customer Care Service of ACE rent a car. They are willing to reimbursement the extra rental cost but not the applicable taxes even if our rental contract specifies the opposite under the general conditions. Worst, they don't damage you for the trouble nor the time you took on your holiday time to find a solution to their mistake. So, do yourself a favor, go to another rental car firm.

We have never rented a car from ACE Rent A Car before. We NEVER will again! I reserved an Economy Car from the Denver, CO location two days before arrival. I called the morning of the reservation and was told they had plenty of cars on their lot. When I arrived at the TRAILER (not a building) I was given three choices of vehicles and none were an Economy Car. They finished with my contract and mentioned that I was the only driver allowed to drive the car (I was never questioned on additional drivers before the contract was done). When I said my husband would also be driving, I was charged a FEE for an additional driver and the contract had to be done again. I was finally handed the keys to my rental vehicle and told to mark any damages on a sheet or come back into the trailer if I did find anything.
Next I got to wander their lot looking for my rental vehicle. It was very obviously NOT washed. I checked for damage or scratches on the body, NEVER THINKING TO LOOK FOR CHIPS IN THE WINDSHIELD!!! The inside of the vehicle was very obviously NOT cleaned as well. There was garbage on the floor and the cup holders and storage compartments in the doors were all sticky. We had to go buy some wipes to stand touching any of the surfaces.
When I returned the car, I'm not even sure if I had it in Park yet and the woman standing there waiting to check me in informed me I would have to escort her to file a claim because there was a chip in the windshield. She was very obviously trained to spot a chip even before I departed from the vehicle! Neither my husband nor I are aware of ANY rocks hitting the windshield. It would be our guess that we weren't the only customers that had to file a claim on the same chip. I was informed I could either pay $44 or deal with it later. I learned my lesson. We will NEVER rent a car from them again.

When we arrived at ACE the lady asked about insurance and I told her I already purchased it and she commented on the great price I paid. She also asked about their SunPass that we needed to go through tolls because you can't pay cash. She said it would cost $6.99 one time fee so we took it. Now I receive my credit card statement and the price is super high so I called to ask why. I first was told the account is closed and oh well there is nothing they could do about it. So I tried to call corporate. That number just sends you to their regular customer service number so they are no good.
I must have been transferred like 20 time before I finally talk to a lady that went over my bill with me. I was charge an extra $63.96 for their insurance so basically the $50 I paid was a waste of money. The SunPass that was $6.99 was actually per day for a total of $28.00 when in actuality I could pay cash and it would have cost me only $4 total for my entire trip. Additionally, I was charged for a full tank of gas when the car was completely full. As a result, I was charged $70 plus too much.
I subsequently called the location and explained the bill error and the agent basically said too bad. The manager will not call me back and there is absolutely nothing I can do. About 5 minutes later two employees left and one was taken outside to check a car with a customer so one employee was helping and the others did not return. I was waiting in line for 40 minutes by the time I got up to the counter there was only 2 cars left on the lot.
The guy at the counter was friendly but I was already frustrated with the wait and he proceeds to tell me that since I am a local driver that the mileage is not unlimited and that I would be charged if I went over 450 miles in the three days. He said it was stated on the online reservations which it was not. It states unlimited mileage. So I needed the car and could not leave without it so I just took it. The car sat the entire weekend once I got to Orlando.
I returned the car on Monday and I walk in and there is no one in the entire place helping anyone!!! I waited a few minutes saying, "Hello! The rental charge was fine, the car was fine, but we were unhappy about the drop off charge added to our credit card if the office is not open and you need to drop off the car at an alternate site. This would not have been an issue if it was located at the airport as was advertised. The information MAY have been in the fine print. I have not located it yet, but when we indicated we would be dropping the car off at their office right at opening time, you would think that they would have mentioned that there was a charge if you arrived earlier and had to drop off at their alternate location. When I called to communicate my disappointment, I was coldly told, "it was in the contract". I am not happy with their customer service and will choose another company in the future.

We had a bad experience renting a vehicle through ACE Rent A Car while on vacation in Colorado from June 16th through June 23rd. First we discovered that the car rental place was off site so we had to take a shuttle to the rental trailer! Once there we waited in line for about 40 minutes. Finally got waited on to get our car which we requested was a Toyota Corolla or similar. They offered a Ford Explorer and I confirmed with them that there would be no extra charge for the bigger vehicle. They urged us to buy their toll pass at $11 a day for which we did not need as we did not drive where there were any tolls. They did not ask if we had auto insurance. They gave us a pink slip which indicated that the vehicle's gas tank was full, which it was only 1/4 full. They gave us the keys and told us to look the vehicle over and indicate on the pink slip if there was any prior damage. They did inform us of the hail damage from the recent hail storm.
The vehicle was filthy inside and out. They did not wash it from the previous renter and they did not clean the inside out. There was garbage in the seat pockets and dog hair in the back cargo area. We did not feel like waiting in line again so we took it and tried to contact them by phone with no success. The dirty vehicle ran great the whole week and we returned it early on Friday, June 23rd. There was a line again and an employee told us if we were dropping off the car to just put the pink slip and the keys on the counter and we were free to go. I commented on the dirty vehicle on the pink slip. We took the shuttle back to the airport.
Then on Tuesday, June 27th my husband got a call from an ACE employee saying that our rental car was overdue. He indicated that we returned the vehicle early on Friday morning and proceeded to tell the guy how disgusted we were with Ace when the man hung up on him. My husband tried to call him back to finish the conversation but could not return the call as it was marked unknown caller on the caller ID. I made arrangements thru carrentals.com to rent a car in Denver. Ace Car Rental by far had the best price for my needs so I made arrangements to rent a car from them. When I got to the car counter I presented the information that I received for the rental. I was then asked a number of questions, one of which was where I was taking the car. I told them Colorado for a wedding then Wyoming to see Yellowstone. I was told that Ace DID not allow the car to leave the state of Colorado and that it was disclosed in the terms and conditions. I showed them what I received as a confirmation and that limitation was not disclosed. I asked them to produce that information and they could not. After much conversation I left and went back to the airport and then got a rental car without limitations from National Car Rental. The cost was $500.00 more than the Ace quote of $199.00. $699.00 total for 7 days.
It seemed to me that they DID not want to honor the quote and could not produce the documentation I should have received stating that I could not leave the state. This is a basic bait and switch issue to get customers in the door. Note that I was the only customer in the place and Ace only had about a dozen cars to rent. Ace was at a offsite location and they worked out of a trailer. Not a professional operation! I then contacted rentalcars.com with the issue and they said it was in the terms and conditions.
Since I travel about 6-7 weeks per year, I rent cars often. Never have I ever had an issues or a limitation of where I can drive. I asked National Car Rental the same question and they never heard of such a thing. This appears not to be an industry standard. Avoid Ace Car Rental and carrentals.com. You need an attorney to go through the paperwork to confirm the deal you are promised and in the end they still may not honor the deal as quoted. Don't let Ace or carrentals.com ruin your vacation or business trip!!!

My family and I were recently on vacation in Miami. We decided we would try to rent from them because they had good prices online and the model of minivan that we wanted which was a Nissan Quest. When we got there we realized what a hassle it was to get to and from the rental agency. Once at the rental agency, it took more than half an hour to be taken at the counter, although there was no one ahead of us in line; then once at the counter it was much worse.
First of all, we were told that they no longer had a Nissan Quest (even though it was the only one being advertised on their website AND we could look out the window and see 3 parked in their lot and one being returned). I told the man behind the counter that I had made a reservation online with the driver's info but the passenger's credit card. I gave him both the driver's ID and the passenger's credit card (both us were present). He would not take the passenger's credit card because he said that it had to be the driver's credit card. So we gave him the driver's credit card and kept asking him how much is it going to come to? First he said $250, then $350, but $400 was actually charged. Even still, we thought it was a good price so we accepted.
Two weeks later I look at my credit card statement (the passenger) and I see a charge for $500. I immediately call them and they tell me that the $400 that was charged at the counter (driver's credit card) was in addition to the $500 charged on the passenger's credit card. So they in fact did take the passenger's credit card and charged a total of $900+. And now they refuse to return the $500 to the passenger's credit card. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE! THEY WILL TELL YOU ONE THING AND DO ANOTHER! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!

Only credit cards so if I didn't have a credit card I would have to get back on the shuttle and head back to the airport. Rented the car from Friday May 19th - Monday May 22nd. When I returned the car on Monday May 22nd took the shuttle to the airport, went through security and realized I left my prescription glasses in the car. I called ACE and was told by Daniella that they had already re-rented the car and nothing was put in lost and found. I then asked if she would be able to call the customer who had just taken the car to see if they can check for my glasses. She proceeded to tell me that they do not disturb the customer while on vacation and that they are not responsible for items left in the car.
I called back again and asked to speak to the manager. She gave me all the reasons why I couldn't speak to the manager but saw that I was not getting off the phone when she finally put the manager Andre on the phone. He told me as well that they are not responsible for lost items but that the people who had my car would turn it in on Thursday 5/25 by 11:15 and he put a note on the account for them to check for the glasses. I called back on Thursday 5/25 at 9am to remind them and Daniella said there is a note on the account.
I called back on Thursday at 12 noon and Daniella told me that the car was not brought back yet. I called again at 3pm and Daniella was quite frustrated and reiterated that there is really nothing they can do. When I asked to speak to Andre the manager she proceeded to tell me that he has more important things to deal with than my lost glasses. I then told her that I am not getting off the phone until I speak with the manager as this is not the way you treat a customer. Andre gets on the phone frustrated as well saying that he has important meetings he needs to be at and I am interrupting them. I then say, "Is this how you treat customers", he then lowers his tone and tells me that the customer that has my car extended their stay to Sunday May 28th and that Andre himself personally will call me on Sunday to let me know if they found my glasses.
Of course Sunday came and went and I never received a call from anyone at ACE. I did call at 7pm and a nice young lady helped me. She goes by D. She said the car came in and they checked and found nothing. I then called back on Monday to speak to Andre to see why I never heard from him and of course he never came to the phone but the girl who answered the phone told me that he is off on Sunday. Never EVER have I heard that you can't take a rental car across state lines, so I didn't even think to look for it in the rental agreement/reservation. We had unlimited miles, so that shouldn't have been a problem. We had out of state plans with the car so we couldn't use ACE. This left us with a 2+ hour delay leaving the airport and seriously increased the price of another car rental because we were stuck and didn't have time to shop around. Our rental car with another company ended up costing 600 dollars MORE than we were expecting.
Additionally, the airport shuttle (Denver International) was painfully slow and took an hour to get back to the airport from the rental center. We requested the cleaning crew to at least clean the back window (covered with dirt) and the request was declined. Car seat adjustment did not work. When we were asked to pay $10 a day for tolls ($60 total) we declined with the expectation that there were alternative methods of paying individual tolls. No explanation was given of the local toll system -- that individual tolls CANNOT be paid by cash. Ace has us paying a penalty of $25 per toll (total of 3 or approx $10 locally).
The exit from the rental office had two directional signs, one to the airport the other to city. We took to city that leads directly to a toll road. Trying to return the car at the airport there are NO ACE SIGNS POSTED. Ace is not located with the Car Rentals signed at the airport. A call to your toll free number went to Florida office. It took us about 20 minutes to find Ace while being on airport property. Upon returning the car, I got in line at the counter. Ace representative stated to several of us that if we left the key and contract our receipt would be emailed. That was two days ago. I have no receipt. I have had to call Ace twice. Am still waiting. Don't rent from Ace.

Upon renting car the man who rented the car to me never went over anything with me. He only ask me to walk around car and note any damage on car. Upon returning car only to find out they were not open and no place to drop keys, I was worried about missing my flight had to get Uber because there was no shuttle back to airport... then I get my credit card statement and was charged $28.00 for a quarter tank of gas. I will not be renting from this company again... and will not recommend this to any friends. Very dissatisfied with this experience.

Geez, where do I begin? First of all, they are NOT located at the airport. This isn't a bad thing necessarily, they will pick you up with a shuttle. I foolishly assumed they were at the airport because every other rental agency in town operates out of the airport. Anyway, when you take delivery of your rental car, they don't review your contract with you or even offer you a chance to read it, they just put an electronic signature pad on the counter with 9 - yes, nine - places for you to sign and click OK. It's not because they are in a hurry. I saw another employee do this to another customer when I returned my car. Demand to see what you're signing for.
First, they automatically charge you $16 for an airport shuttle ride whether you need one or ask for one or not. I guess if you fussed and complained they would remove the charge, I don't know. Secondly, when I picked up my car, the employee told me that there was a $200 damage deposit on the rental which was fully refundable later. Later, I was looking at my invoice, and how much was the damage deposit? $300.
Third, they automatically add $10 to your bill to cover interstate tolls, whether you need them or not. That's right, even if you drive straight from the Ace rental car office to your motel right next door, you still get to pay for Interstate tolls. This was my favorite part of the experience: If you want to apply your own car insurance on the rental, you better grab them by the collar and ram it down their throat because they will NOT ask you for it and then they will automatically charge you for Florida state liability insurance for every day that you rent the car.
After I realized this, I called up to complain and an employee on the phone told me that they WOULD refund the insurance charges to me if I showed them proof of insurance. But, when I returned the car and showed the employee my insurance, he told me that they would NOT refund the insurance charges. I mumbled something under my breath about calling the Florida Attorney General, to which he immediately said, "Well, whaddya know, someone already removed the charges from your bill" - which was BEFORE I showed anyone proof of my insurance!
It just goes to show you, businesses that operate in the tourist industry, especially in tourist areas like South Florida, will scam you every chance they get because they know that a lot of people get very disoriented and stressed out when they're traveling or on vacation and they don't take time to read the fine print. Plus, they know that in a few hours or days you will be hundreds or thousands of miles away and you'll be powerless to do anything about it. DON'T vacation in South Florida and DON'T rent from Ace rental car in Fort Lauderdale.

Booked a Toyota Corolla. They were out when we got there on the time that had been stated when I booked. Rep tried to give me a Mustang Coupe for 4 people. HAHA! Got a Hyundai Santa Fe... Paid a $200 deposit and $50. We were early returning vehicle, filled the tank up with gas to full, and it was in the same condition as it was when we took it; and clean. Also, the toll fees were like $10 total; not $50 (what a joke)! Ten days later, I called about my deposit being reversed on the credit card... They said in a few days it should be reversed. Ended up getting $56/$200 back... Long story short, involving several calls with terrible communication on their end, including having to call corporate, where they kept hanging up on me, they claimed the rest of the deposit was all these other completely hidden fees.

CHECK THE REVIEW!! I made the mistake for not reading the review and I paid price, but I don't want anyone to fall into the same trap. The only reason I gave one star is because that is the lowest rating, ACE rental deserve a NEGATIVE rating. I'll list all things that they scam me for.
Fuel on pick up, marked FULL on paper and expect you to return FULL. Only found out it was only 1/4 tank upon pick up. I discovered it 5 mins out the door, took picture and went back. The CS looked at it and circle 1/4 on the pink slip. When car was returned, they accused you making the changes as there is no initial, and charge you ridiculous amount per gallon to fill it up to FULL.
Take picture of what you signed on the small keypad screen when declining insurance and request for a paper copy of what you signed. Your electronic will be added to the final contract on places that you did not agree to. And without you realized, you agreed to the $15.99/day liability insurance. I was told that it's the company requirement to have liability insurance but nobody will inform you up front, only when you receive your final bill. Take pictures of the car and ensure you captured all imperfection or else you will end up with a big surprise.
They will scare you into getting tol ltag by telling you there is no toll booth in some area, everything is pay by mail based on the license plate. But since car is not registered to you, ACE will receive the bill in the mail and they will charge you $25/transaction. I fell for that and found out there is always a toll booth to give change. You will be charged a full extra day if you are late for 30 mins - 1 hr, not a pro-rated rate, + insurance, + toll tag, ++++ everything else.
Request for a final receipt BEFORE you leave and go through the charges details, don't accept email. You will be screwed as soon as you leave the place. They will tell you contract is CLOSED (not even sure what that means) and no changes can be made, so you basically have to pay whatever amount the charged you. DON'T waste your time calling customer service, there is NONE. And they will tell you should have read the contract and everything you signed. Period. Again ----- STAY AWAY!! MY FINAL BILL WAS $245 BUT MY ORIGINAL RESERVATION TOTAL $123 INCLUDING TAXES AND FEES.

On return could not find rental place with our GPS. Called Ace they said GPS outdated and could not give you a close address or the address of the airport. Stopped many places and got directions. I rented a car from ACE in Fort Lauderdale, FL for two days. When I returned the car on the due date, they charged me an additional day's rental fee despite being only two hours late (most companies offer a grace period). Furthermore, they claimed the pin on the gas gauge was 7/8 below a full tank and attempted to charge me for gas (even though I had just filled it up). Another employee vouched it was indeed full. Then they tried to hit me up for $35 in tolls despite providing no proof I ever racked up that much in tolls. Typical "bait and switch" tactics - wish I had read all the bad reviews BEFORE renting from them. Never again.

I've rented vehicles at least 1 month for over 20 years for work. This is without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had with a company period. It's a complete bait & switch rental company. I made a reservation and of course when I went to pick up the van they didn't have it. After waiting almost 2 hours for them to find one (around 9 pm this time with 5 cranky starving kids on vacation) they found one. I had to have a van to fit everyone or I would have left.
After all the hassle they then said I HAD to purchase commercial insurance for a VAN (no commercial license required by law??). The insurance was more than the rental car cost. This was NEVER mentioned in the original booking online. They wouldn't let me leave without it. They are nothing but scam artist. I just hope someone reads this before they get scammed too. It's the Ft. Lauderdale ACE rental car company. By the reviews of ACE this is standard practice for this company. They should be put out of business.

We had a very bad experience with an agent Neil with ponytail who claimed to be the manager. We made reservation about a week ago and when we arrived he wanted to give us a van and that's not what we requested. He kept saying there is no car to give to us. I asked there is plenty of cars outside and he said they all have problems. If we don't want the van we can go somewhere else, mind you it was getting so late.
So we started to look for somewhere elsewhere we can rent and another agent there was helping us to look for a place to rent. He was walking around singing and humming. So my friend got on the phone to complain and she was on the phone for 15 mins on hold. He came back saying "ok will go check on the car but it's not for sure." He came back later on saying "ok I found you a car but it needs a car oil but if the engine sign comes up don't worry it's nothing." We took the car for 4 days no engine sign came up. We just had a very bad experience.

Very unprofessional! The biggest complaint I have is that they took our money out of our account when we reserved this car online. Upon arrival, we had to take a shuttle from the airport to the car rental facility where we took care of business quite quickly and efficiently. At the end of this half hour long process, we were told that they do not accept DEBIT cards - even though the money was already gone! There were two other couples trying to pick up their vehicles as well and were told the same thing. Both of us have had issues with credit cards so neither of us own one. The employees behind the desk were unsympathetic and quite rude about it. We had to get shuttled back to the airport and needed to spend double what we had already spent!
ACE did not give refunds at the counter so we were out almost $400 on our trip and could not do several things that we had planned. This information - which is IMPORTANT - was not on any of the e-mails that my husband received after confirming the reservation. This is copied and pasted: 'Rental Restrictions: General Conditions: *Unless stated otherwise in the Rental Restrictions, you must present a credit card in the driver's name at time of rental pickup.' Our debit cards say MasterCard on them and we use them as credit cards. We have never had an issue with that before. This was totally unacceptable. We felt like second class citizens as we were driven back with our tails between our legs.

I rent every so often. Last week I rented from Budget and had no problem. Good car, good price and good service. Booked a car through Priceline and I ended up with ACE. Boy did I get a surprise. I don't know how they stay in business. They told me that Florida renters are only allowed 150 miles per day. I was on a time schedule. I had to take their shuttle to the Fort Myers Airport and it turned out many flights were arriving. All the rent-a-car lines were full. It would be a while till I could get another car. Luckily Alamo saved the day with their machine in the lobby.
Avoid this company at all costs. They are rated one star. I've been renting for about 35 or 40 years and I guess there are still surprises. I reserved a rental car at ACE rental car, Orlando Florida. They provided me with an economy Ford Fiesta. While driving from the Orlando airport to my hotel in Daytona Beach the car, without any warning whatsoever, lost all RPM and speed slowing to an abrupt stop from 70 mph speed limit on interstate 95 to within 2 miles an hour and directly in front of a semi truck following my vehicle! As an experienced driver very aware and alert I abruptly moved to the shoulder to avoid being rear-ended by a semi truck and dying on interstate 95 as a result of an engine failure and a defective automobile! I continued my journey to Daytona hoping this was a single incident. However it was not! This exact situation occurred twice again, on State Road 44 into New Smyrna Beach and then again on Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach as I approach the hotel.
Fortunately I was able to instantly react and pull off the road to avoid being rear ended by traffic behind. I immediately notified the rental desk at Ace Rent-A-Car. They agreed that it was a serious safety issue and very dangerous and to park the car in the parking lot and they would replace the vehicle by the next day, towing the unsafe and dangerous defective Ford Fiesta back to their Orlando location. The exchange was made at no charge obviously because of the dangerous unsafe non-drivable rental car! I returned the replacement vehicle to their location on December 12. Today for days later I was advised there was a $436 towing charge fraudulently without my authorization or approval added to my Visa card!
I immediately called this unscrupulous rental company and spoke with manager Andre. He stated he was told by the local dealership there was nothing "wrong with the car", and therefore charge my account $436 for the towing of the exchanged vehicles. Without question, unequivocally this company has proceeded to put in an unsafe and dangerous vehicle back on the road in their rental inventory and charge me as a customer and outrageous towing bill when in fact the car failed three times driving it from Orlando to Daytona in 80 miles!!
Please do not under any circumstance is put your LIFE IN DANGER and rent a car from this unscrupulous company!! Their office is located on Semoran Blvd., Orlando! I advised my visa contact (and will never pay the charge) and filed immediate dispute. After 15 minutes of discussion and restating the issue and a problem to manager Andre, who is the one who initially of approved the replacement because of the dangerous situation that he agreed to, he never agreed to remove the charge. I have notified the department of transportation, the Inspector General's office and call Pam ** the Attorney General's office of Florida.

Worst parking experience ever. I travel bi-weekly and tend to switch between a few different ones. I decided to give this one a try since it was on Cheapairportparking.com website and had a reasonable rate for the time period I needed. The drop off process was uneventful. Coming back we did have to wait longer than expected to get picked up from the airport even though they said a shuttle runs every 15-30 minutes. The couple in front of me in line: They couldn't locate their car keys. It took them almost 30 minutes to figure out what was going on but they finally were able to locate the car and keys.
My turn: Also could not locate my car keys. Took about 20 minutes. Finally located my keys and guy goes to get the car. He is gone for another 15-20 minutes. I go outside looking for him. Can't find him (granted this lot is not very big) - Send my daughter to go out looking for him - he is wandering the lot aimlessly looking for my car (supposedly). Now we are all walking around the lot looking for my car - after walking around for an additional 15-20 minutes we finally locate my car under a tree with leaves covering it. Next dilemma there's another car parked behind me - no way to get out. So... yes you guess it takes another 15 minutes for therm to locate the keys to that car to move it to let me out! So all in all I was there almost 1.5 - over 2 hours since we landed to get out of there.
They have a horrible process with their parking service - and as I can tell from previous reviews and being in line - car rental service is not any better - the numerous times I heard "there is nothing we can do for you"! When you drop off your car they fill out a slip of paper and then your keys are put in a Ziplock bag with this slip of paper. So if your keys get separated from the slip of paper they have no real idea where your keys belong unless they look through all the ziplock bags. The Ziplock bags are kept in a box yes a box behind the counter - I could have reached over the counter at any given time and taken a whole box of keys.
When people dropped off their cars for parking the keys and paper were lined up on the counter - no supervision - the attendant left numerous times with keys in the open where anyone could have walked away from them. Avoid this place at all costs - The extra few dollars saved will just = a lot of aggravation. The only positive thing I can say was the shuttle driver was pleasant.

On November 4th we went to pick up the Mini Van that I had went online to hold. When we got there, we were told that we couldn't take it out of state so we had to take a van....15 passenger van. It was a 2016 Ford Van and it drove great, rode great and did serve the purpose. The problem was... once we got home, 1.5hr later from picking it up, we found ants were inside. There was a spill that look like a milkshake going down the side door; cups in the back with ants in them. I didn't look inside to inspect for cleanliness. I have never had to do so before. I called the office and spoke to "Sean" and he was very nice and apologetic. Said he would give us a $17 credit. I didn't think that was fair but we had to get on the road to get to our destination to NC.
When we returned on Monday the 7th, we went inside and the guy behind the counter was on the phone. While sitting there, we overheard him tell a customer on the phone that his refund had been processed and to double check his records. When he hung up, he called us to the desk. I told him before we get started I would like to show him something. I told him it drove and rode great! The gas mileage wasn't that bad and enjoyed using it. I told him there was a spill on the side door and ants we had to kill during our use of the vehicle.
He told us that he would have gotten ant spray and then Ace would have reimbursed us for it. I also let him know there were cups in the back with ants and it all came down to the van was not cleaned before released to be rented. I also mentioned there was a dead dried up frog in the door. I mentioned that management needs to check all cars and vans after they have been cleaned to verify the work has been completed correctly.
At this point the guy who was working this shift, November 7th at 2:30pm. He proceeded to say, "Give me the ** key." We were so shocked that anyone would say this to a customer. I said "Excuse me????" He said, "Give me the ** key and get off my ** lot and never come back." I gave him the key and told him we would never do business again with this company. I also said I would be getting in touch with corporate office. He said he didn't care and to go ahead.
He kept my paperwork that had all the information on it. If we had not been so far away from the lot we would have turned around and went back to get it. I have my credit card transactions to prove they took my money. I am waiting on my $150 deposit to be credited back. I have been in customer service for years and management. His behavior was and is grounds for dismissal. I hope corporate office deals with this. They have lost a customer for life.

We were with friends who returned a rental care on June 22 to the Orlando location. I left my phone in the car. An employee called us within a few hours of returning the car to let us know that they found my business cell phone had fallen between the seats. Upon our return to Montana, I contacted the Orlando rental location to arrange to have my phone returned. I was told I needed to "send a pre-postage paid package" for your company to ship my phone back to me. Honestly, I was a bit shocked by this, assuming, this would be a small customer satisfaction gesture to simply ship my cell phone to me.
So, the following week, I went to my shipping company, they prepared a return pre-posted package (which cost me over $50!!). After almost 5 weeks, I contacted my shipper who, via package tracking, informed me the pre-paid return had indeed arrived at the Orlando location on July 6th and was signed by June **. However, at that time, 5 weeks later, my phone had not been returned. When I called the location, it took over 5 different phone calls to finally speak with "June **" (she was always "out" when I asked for her by name). I was told, "I will leave her a sticky note to call you" - that never happened!
Finally, when I was able to speak to June in person, she informed me she never received a prepaid package to return my phone. When I told her she was the person who signed, I was told, "my employees just sign my name when I'm not in". Really? What kind of in-office policy is that? Now, she was taking no responsibility because "they just sign my name when I'm not here" (which seems to be quite often given the multiple times I tried to contact her). As ridiculous as I found that, I asked that the company simply return my phone to me. At which time, she told me she had no idea which phone was mine. After describing it, she charged my phone and identified my husband's contact. We confirmed she was holding my phone and we had identified it as my phone. She then, asked me to resend another prepaid package. Really? We are talking that my phone has been sitting in Orlando for over 3 months, I live in Montana!
So, after another 3 weeks, I received a call from my shippers that my phone finally arrived. When I went to pick it up, they told me it was returned, not in the first package I sent for $50, not even in the second package that was resent - but in a makeshift box. Oh well, at least they returned my phone after nearly 4 months now. Oh! By the way, did I mention while my phone was in the possession of whoever was "securing my phone", I received several text messages from total strangers on the east coast (remember, I live in Montana) informing me they were receiving text messages from my business phone requesting credit card information regarding a Capital Credit card! That's fun to deal with as a business owner whose phone is at a rental car company in Orlando.
Ok, my shipping company called me today, that my phone finally arrived! Well, guess what - the ** show that you run at your Orlando location sent someone else's phone to me. $50 dollars shipping later, some very rude conversations with "June **" (a supervisor who allows other employees to sing her name?), text messages from people that my business is requesting credit card information... and now I have someone else's phone in my hands. What the hell? Seriously, I was so impressed with the immediate notification that someone found my phone in a car.
I will never rent a car from your company, I will inform everyone I know of how your company has no customer service and how your company allows supervisors to have others fraudulently sign their names, and then not take responsibility for that signature and lack of follow through. We will definitely inform our friends who frequently rent through your Orlando site to never rent from your company, again. You should seriously examine your policies because I am absolutely appalled at the treatment we received from your company. You should be ashamed!

Required me to take Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) or take the shuttle back to the airport and find another car company. First I reserved a mid-size. The agent offered me an AUV for additional cost. I refused. He then offered an SUV for NO ADDITIONAL charge. I said I still wanted just the mid-size... guess what, they did not have any mid-sizes available. Then the SLI requirement. If I showed them my auto insurance policy which has liability coverage they would not require SLI coverage, which is optional according to their policy.
Well at 10:30 pm (Orlando Airport) I would not have it and could not "call my agent" as he suggested. But he said if I could produce one later they would reduce the charge. Well I did call my agent and he emailed me my policy and I then called them and said I would email my policy... they said they do not accept emails and I would have to come in to present my policy. What a scam! I had to take the SLI under duress and I still have not gotten an answer after sending certified mail to them requesting a compromise. HORRIBLE company.

We had a really miserable experience with ACE rent a car and I would like to warn other travelers about it. I booked a car for 6 days with ACE rent a car at the JFK airport. Our flight got there at about 11:40 am and I called ACE around noon after picking up our baggage to send their shuttle. We waited for half an hour and then called again to check if they had sent it. They assured me someone was sent for a pickup. After waiting another half hour, I called again. This time they said the guy picked up other passengers, but did not see us. There was no way this could have happened. People at the waiting area told us a black or a white van from Hilton will come to pick up and we have been waiting for an hour or so.
Anyway, they sent a shuttle finally at about 1:30 and we reached the ACE desk at Hilton Garden at about 1:45 pm. The customer service person was attending to another customer and we were next in line. Amazingly, it took close to an hour for that person to process and we finally got to the counter at around 2:45 pm. We were planning to go to Montreal, Canada and mentioned it to them. The person said there is an additional charge of $100 to go to Canada. I wanted to speak to the manager to understand why that was the case. The person spoke (or pretended to speak) to someone on the phone and never gave us a chance to speak to anyone. We finally reached our destination (Poughkeepsie) around 5:15 pm more than 5 hours after landing in JFK!!
The unfortunate thing was we finally did not go to Montreal, but ended up getting charged for it. When I called them to say that we did not go to Canada, they said it is too late (understandable). However, I wanted to speak to the manager again and was told to call again later and it is in their policy to charge us. I asked to show me the policy and they would not oblige. Also, the car was in an average condition and said maintenance required. Thankfully there were no problems on the way, but you can bet that I would not go to them again.

I booked a car through Travelocity and was told the total for the time period would be 166 and some change. After returning the car and looking at my credit card statement, I see a charge for $300 greater than the bill. Called them up and they said it was a credit hold and that it would be posted within 5 business days. I called my credit card company and asked them when the hold would be released and they stated there was no hold on the card. I called Ace back and their policy is to charge the customer the "hold" amount plus the actual fee, then do a refund.
Now, I'm not sure what the interest rate on your credit cards happen to be, but even a 10% APR on an extra $300 in a billing period is stupid and unnecessary. If I had rented this car later in the month, my billing period would have rolled over and I would have been charged interest on something that shouldn't have been there. Shady business practice right there... If you're going to put a hold on a card, actually issue the hold, don't charge the consumer then refund it. You think they'd pay for the interest on that too? Unlikely. Next time I rent a car, it'll be from a company that doesn't try to upcharge.

When the flat happened I called Ace rental for help and they told me it was my responsibility and they could not help me and then hung up the telephone. Very rude. They need to be fined and inspected and closed down. Unsafe for renters and they do not own up to any of their mistakes. All they care about is the money.

We booked a pre-paid car rental from ACE thru CarRentals.com. The package includes Theft Protection and Collision Damage Waiver. ACE was only a broker, the car renter was Green Motion Car Rental (GMCR). When we picked up our car, GMCR refused the insurance and wanted to scam us another high premium insurance with £1,500 deductible and £40,000 liability for a £15,000 car. GMCR cancelled our reservation when we refused their insurance, and ACE's help phone did not work to sort out the mess. We have to dragged with heavy luggage to take public transpiration back to Heathrow Airport to rent another car hours later with exhausted bodies.
When we asked ACE for refund, ACE said the transaction was completed, and accused us had no insurance and refused to refund, while we did not get car from ACE's package and our rental package included theft protection and collision damage waiver insurance. We are still trying to get money back from ACE. Get clear from ACE, they will lie to keep your money.

When disputing the charge they were not nice or sympathetic at all. Being so far from home we ended up having to just deal with it but it would have been cheaper to just take a taxi to our hotel in Ft Lauderdale. Total waste of money.

Today 9/2 is my first time renting with ACE and wasn't the best experience at all! First of all the employee offer me the option to pay the gas so I can return my car empty for a total of $30, that is for the 4 days rental. I ask if the gas tank will be full and he said no but the car right now has 3/4 of gas. So I said to myself that is decent. I put 10-15 dollar more to fill the tank and head to my destination. I inspect my car for any damages - everything good! But after I get out from the rental place I see that my fuel tank is only 1/4 of gas!!! Unbelievable!!! I had to stop in a gas station to fill up the tank and I spend the same $30 that I paid upfront to have my car full of gas! Second the car wasn't clean at all!! Was filthy inside and outside, and I even had to take trash out from it!
I definitely will not recommend this company at all! Since I felt that the employee lie to me and the condition of the car wasn't the best! The only thing that it was great was the price for the rental.

Beware of this company. Their rates for Orlando showed up in comparison sites as one of the cheapest, so we booked with them. However, on arrival, we were told that their "International Drivers" policy is a MANDATORY charge for CDW and SLI. We tried to cancel at this point, but were told that if we cancel they wouldn't refund our booking which has been pre-paid. They have an option to "pay now" or "pay later" which is more expensive - If you do opt for this company, make sure to choose pay later as it is a complete scam.
Their stated policy online for International Drivers is that they need to see Proof of Full Coverage, so what the person in the counter told us is incorrect. I am trying to get a refund. They have told me to call back again tomorrow as they have no management coverage on the weekend and to go back to their local office to provide the proof of insurance. To be doing this while on holiday is a disaster. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

We arrived late in the day and had rented a van in Tampa FL. They told us they were giving us one van and then no maybe this van. He couldn't decide which van he wanted to give us. Finally after he decided what van and we signed the papers and I added the toll package. They finally drove the van around, it was dirty inside and out and a lot of scratches. They handed me the paperwork, I told my husband to start documenting the scratches and finally he took the car in and said there was too many scratches to document and they said it didn't matter. We went to eat and then got on the road to drive to Siesta Key and the van starts shaking when we get to 50 MPH. By this time it's too late to turn around and ask for another car. So driving all over the Florida area was not very pleasant with a shaky car.
After a week, we took the car back and as soon as we drove in and started getting the bags out of the car, one of the workers came up and asked for the keys immediately and said he had to get the car ready for auction! We are hurrying to get our luggage out and stand in line to check out. When I got to the front the worker asked for the keys and I said the other guy took them to take the car to auction. He tried to accuse me of giving the keys to someone off the street. I said "No he worked for you." We proceeded to check out and had to wait a long time to get to the airport to make our flight. Almost missed it. A month later, I get a charge on my credit card. I call them, got the runaround. Finally talked to someone and they said I did not purchase the toll package so they charged a $50 surcharge for my $8.00 in tolls. VERY SHADY COMPANY. DO NOT USE THEM!

We reserved a midsize car with unlimited miles for $306.22 for a 10 day time period. When we went to pick the car up, we were told by the ACE employee that they would not give us a mid-size car for that price, only a compact. They then proceeded to tell us that since we are Florida residents, we were restricted to 150 miles a day and required to put down a $300 deposit, despite the fact that our reservation stated unlimited miles and that the price included all taxes and fees. None of these changes that ACE was forcing us to now accept were in the original reservation contract. We were stuck at that point since we had no back-up reservation, so we took the compact car with the mileage restriction and put up the deposit they required.
It wasn't until that evening that we realized the car they rented us had expired plates on it. We drove back to Ace and arrived right before closing requesting a different car that had legal plates on it. The attendant brought out another car which we inspected and noted that one tire was almost flat. The attendant went back and checked his records and said they had had a problem with that car because of a slow leak in the tire. They then brought out another car. By that time, it was dusk, they were closing and they hurried us through the paperwork and inspection. The car also had no gas in it so we had to go immediately to a gas station to fill it. Since Ace was closing, they told us that we could go get gas and then return it empty. [We returned it with a tank even though it was given to us empty.]
When we returned the car, we walked around with the attendant who originally found no scratches. Then as she walked back in the door looking back at the car, she walked back out and pointed to a scratch on the underside of the right wheel well area. My husband told her that we did not scratch it and explained that when the original inspection was done it was getting dark by that time and ACE was closing, and so since you have to back away from the car to even see it, it appears it was missed in the inspection that night. Looking down as you walk around the car, even she did not see it until she went away from the car and looked back. She agreed with my husband that it could not be seen while walking around the car and it could have easily been missed when the attendant conducted the inspection with my husband that night.
She then asked my husband to write a confirmation on the paperwork that stated he had not hit anything, which he did. She said that would take care of it and we would get our deposit back which she marked for reimbursement on our paperwork. She highlighted the deposit account on our paperwork and the paperwork even shows -$300 showing it was being returned. Then to add to the nightmare, they told us that their shuttle was broken and they could not return us to the airport. We had to catch a ride on the Enterprise shuttle to get to our plane.
A week later, we get a letter stating that ACE is filing a claim against us for $364 which included repair of the scratch and rental charges for the car for its non-use while being repaired. I requested a picture of the scratch and the photo they sent shows a large black area over the scratch. It was not the scratch originally found on the wheel well but was apparent that they altered the scratch. Since the scratch was not prominent originally and the ACE attendant agreed with us that the location was easily missed and telling us we were getting our deposit back, we did not take our own photos.
Despite explaining this to your insurance claim department, Ace said they are proceeding with the claim against us. The degree of deceit and unprofessional treatment through this whole procedure is overwhelming but appears to be their MO from reading the other reviews. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews before renting. Never again!

DON'T BE TEMPTED BY THE LOW PRICE! YOU WILL END UP PAYING A LOT MORE THAN THAT PRICE! I rented a car for 11 days in Jamaica starting from 12/7/16. Although they operate under the name ACE, the documents are on the name of the branch: DANJOR. The price seemed to be good. Immediately after leaving the company I found out that the key doesn't lock the car. As they don't have any sign showing the company name, and their address cannot be found on the GPS, I had to drive around for approximately 1 hour to find the place. When I told them, they said they know it. Of course, I was upset for the time I lost from my vacation and for they didn't mention it in my check-list.
When I returned the car they show me a small spot at the back bumper, that they said it wasn't there when I rented the car, and demanded for it US $150. The car was a piece of garbage, the body was rusted and full with dents and probably its total value in the US won't exceed $500. To ask $150 for a small dent it is a rip off. I offered to fix it by myself at a garage, but they told me that I am not allowed to do this and anyhow, it has to be "to their full satisfaction" that costs US $150. I argued and at the end they accepted to charge me for US $100. They are crooks, their attitude to do business is not honest, and if you still choose to be tempted by the seemingly low price: You have Been Warned!

There were 4 other people waiting there also, calling!! They advertise they are a mile from the airport! I believe that must be as the crow flies because by the time we were at the ACE place it was 11:40 pm. We told them we did not think it was fair we get charged for a full day as in 20 minutes it was the next day. We rented the car until July 27th. "Sorry, no can do" is what we were told. We asked to speak to a manager "Sorry no one there but 2 workers!" We rented a Hyundai Sonata online and all they had was a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV for us. Car smelled like smoke and the tank was not filled but of course we did not realize the gas issue until we drive away and at 1:30 am after all the bs we were not going back. They did note the smoke issue. On the return date when I went to drop the car off the place crowded, 3 other people I spoke with and the people we rode the van with to the car rental center had nothing but complaints about ACE stating it was the worst experience they ever had!! The person who went out to check the SUV looked at the car and said, "Okay so you owe us $445.25!!" "What are you talking about???" My response!! That is what they were charging me and I said, "No way." She took me into her office but said I really should have read the contract before signing! I did and it said 222.45!
She then said, "Oh, I'll give you a voucher for $200! It may not appear on your credit card for awhile!" Fine, just give me my $ back you snakes!! We get in the van, with 5 other people, it is 96 degrees and someone says, "Is the air conditioning on?" The driver says, "Oh, it's not working!" Just to add some balance to what seems to be a flood of negative reviews. We rented through Priceline.com on 7/16 for a one week rental. I had never heard of ACE but the deal was excellent ($175 for 7 days - full size car, unlimited miles). Picking up the car was a bit of a hassle as we were at their location for an hour with the same 4 customers in front of me in line the entire time. Not sure why they ALL took so long but it seemed a lot of these issues were coming up (charges for insurance - a credit card in someone else's name means they must be added as a driver etc).
When it finally was my turn I walked up to the counter and the rep walked away without a word for 10 minutes. He did finally return and my processing took only a few minutes: I declined the insurances, I declined an extra driver, declined the pre-paid toll package (BTW drove all over Orlando and to Tampa and back and never once encountered a toll road!). And the rep explained the $300 deposit would fall off once I returned the car. All good - even got an upgrade to an SUV at no cost (likely they ran out of full size cars). The rep was not pushy and very friendly. Handed me the keys and told me to go to #53 in the lot. I asked if they were going to come with me to inspect the vehicle. He said "we inspect all the vehicles before we rent them out". Hmmm... ok.
Anyway the car was great. Returned it on 7/23 and saw a giant mob out front waiting for the one shuttle that was operating at that hour (5:45am). Our flight was at 8:15 so we had time but didn't want to risk it so we cabbed it to the airport for $20.00. So really - other than the long wait... and being abandoned at the counter for 10 minutes. The rest of the experience was excellent. The $300 hit my bank this am. So we got a great car at a great price and just a little inconvenience. I WOULD rent from them again.

Please do not be tempted by the relatively cheap rates! These people are total scammers. The first time I thought it strange that they accused me of not having a full tank despite the fact that I had just filled it to full at the gas station across the street. They said they would charge me for a full tank because it wasn't full at their rate of 5 times the going price. Luckily I had extra time so I went back to the gas station, put like 5 cents in (all the tank would take). Then upon my return, they said they needed the receipt for the gas? What? Ok - went back and got it.
You think I would have been alerted and not used them again but the cheap price was again too hard to resist! This time I brought the car into the lot, full with the receipt in hand. The car was in perfect condition because I checked it at the station right across the street. I go in to check out, it was busy, the lot is small, I wait like 15 minutes or more online, check out and the attendant comes in and starts filling out an accident claim with no explanation... I questioned him and he said the car was damaged... WHAT?? I go out and there are two new surface scratches on the right passenger side back bumper.
Making a very long story short, their claim to my American Express was for $2200 worth of damage!! Of which AMEX paid my $500 deductible. Although I am out no money, this is total and complete fraud to American Express. Even though I reported the scam, Amex still paid it. Do not under any circumstances use this RENTAL AGENCY. I rented a car via Rentalcars.com, paid for insurance and my booking receipt stated that I was to pay $282 when I arrived at ACE to pick up the car. When I arrive I tell them that I wish to add an extra driver and nothing more. That amounts to $15 extra. Then I put my signature down thinking that I was signing the insurance. After I have delivered back the car, I get a receipt from ACE where 3 optional types of insurances have been added to my rental!!! I had no idea that I was buying them, I didn't want any of them having already paid for insurance, and I was definitely not explained that I was buying them. Together they added around $100 to my bill.
When I call ACE they ask me if I signed for the insurances and I realized that I'd been cheated right away. YES - of course I signed where they told me to sign! But they can't just make me sign for extra costs and options without even telling me anything!!! It would be the same as if your local grocery store just added groceries you never asked for to your bag, made you pay and sign the receipt. ACE rental cars are deliberately cheating people!!! They know few people read what they sign, let alone understand what all these types of insurances are!

I have done a reservation of a car by the rent-a-car CarRentals.com, an Expedia Inc Company. Going on vacations to Dominican Republic, have rent this car by the site, and also took a extra collision damage insurance by Allianz that is presented also by CarRentals. However when arriving to the office of the renting (ACE) in Santo Domingo Airport, and presented the voucher printed from CarRentals, I was astonishing with the events.
First they did not accept the coverage insurance for the collision done. They said that insurance have no legal support in that country. Further, that, if I want to take the car, I was needed to get a mandatory insurance for that period, in the extra amount of 566.00 USD, besides what I have paid by the renting in the site.Without that extra cost that was mandatory and not an optional extra, I could not get the car. So I decided not to pay this extra because is not supposed, after to present a voucher from CarRentals to have to pay more that was accepted and within the contract. So left the rent a car without the car.
After that I have exchanged several emails claiming this situation and requesting the total refund paid previously to CarRentals, but by now with no success. I assumed when I agree to rent a car in this site, that I will not have to pay any other extra cost but this is not the situation. So this was not an optional, was not for fuel or an optional insurance. This was part of the renting cost, as said by the responsible in the ACE office was a mandatory insurance, and without that I could not get the car.
Besides the claim made, and as said, several exchanged emails this site and related support team are avoiding the subject. I have paid for something I was not able to use in the amount paid. As a client I should know before the payment and the contract, the total amount I will have to pay for a service and not to be forced to pay more, if I want to rent the car. So when reserving the car by CarRentals.com, I have really not paid the full amount, but really only an entrance and a previous payment. This is not legal. But by now I'm still waiting for the common sense from this company to refund me.
I have claimed also for the collision insurance made, something that have no legal support in that country according with the employer of the rent a car. So instead of getting the total support from the company CarRentals.com, I'm dealing alone with 2 companies, trying to get the refund of what I have paid worthless. Shame.

Well, I can say I will never rent from ACE ever again! This company is horrible!! My boyfriend and I arrived in Orlando, FL on 6/23/16. After we picked up our bags, we were directed out to the shuttle which was already full, so we were told it would be a 10-minute wait. No big deal until 10 minutes turned into 45 minutes! After we finally got on the next shuttle, it was about a 15-minute drive just to get to the rental property. We walk inside to see a short line of maybe 4 groups, with them having four employees already helping 4 other groups which we weren't too concerned about. However, we waited in line for an HOUR!! CRAZY!! Once we finally made it to the front desk, I handed the gentleman my confirmation email and driver's license. As he is checking out my information, I read this note on the desk stating, "If you are paying with a credit card, you have to put down a $200 and if you are paying with a debit card, it was a $300 deposit!" WHAT???
That was NEVER stated online. EVER! We were quoted $171.50 online, for 5 days. After I read that, I was fed up, so now our running total was $471.50... PLUS he never asked me for my car insurance, so that added on another $50.00! With all these add-ons, that maxed out my car, as I have a limit set. So I turned it over to my boyfriend. He handed him his card. The gentleman stated that if he is paying for the car, that he has to be a driver on the car! That was an additional $7.99 a day... After everything was said and done with taxes we ended up going from $171.50 to $571!!! I can say that I will never rent from this car company ever again. And I will make sure that my friends and family will never rent from them either!

We are Florida residents, but reside in another state since my husband is in the military. We still have a FL license, but with our current address in TN on it since the state of Florida allows military members & their families to maintain their home of record. Their (Ace) policy states LOCAL RESIDENTS are only allowed 150 miles per day. I booked this reservation thinking I was getting unlimited miles. Wanda was very rude, and said because we hold a FL drivers license it doesn't matter we live in TN. We are considered LOCAL. Then as she looked into our reservation she seen that I booked for a week. Then we were informed that we were only allotted 750 total miles for 7 days. I went from thinking we would have unlimited miles to 1,050 to 750. This experience just kept getting better & better.
Wanda also gave us a hard time regarding our full coverage insurance. She stated we needed to have a FL policy. We do hold a FL policy, and she wanted to argue with me that it's not possible since we reside in TN. I had to pull up my declarations page to show her. Makes sense right? According to the mileage policy I'm considered a local, but my insurance (according to miss know it all Wanda) it wasn't possible to hold a Florida policy while residing in another state. I will never use this company again, and I will make sure other people that are Florida residents that are affiliated with the military do not use this company.

They never told me it wasn't at the airport. I waited over an 30 minutes at the Orlando airport in Florida for a shuttle. When I got to ACE 20 to 30 minutes later I had to wait in line for another 45 minutes. Once I got up to the counter I told the lady how bad the service was & the wait time. She stated this is how it is in the summer. She didn't show any empathy or apologize. She just asked for my ID and auto insurance card. She left me at the counter for a long period of time so I went outside to tell my mom about how bad this was. While I was outside a lady told me she was from New York and that she cussed them out. While she was telling me how wrong they did her she was cussing as well.
I went back inside and waited again at the front counter the lady came back finally. She told me "I don't appreciate you cussing me out to your family." I told her 3 times that wasn't me, that was the New York lady. She didn't say anything back. After accusing 3 times of doing that I told her "If I cussed you out I would tell you to your face." She stated "Due to the wait don't fill the tank back up when you drop the car off." She gave me my papers after I paid. She said "Fill out this paper with the any damage to the vehicle & have one of us sign it." No one came to inspect the vehicle with me & a lot of damage was already done to the car. I did as I was told, filled it out and went to a guy to get it signed. He stated "I'm busy. Have someone else sign it." He wasn't busy but I found a lady. All she did was sign and circle what I wrote about the vehicle.
It was dirty inside and had dried food on the seats. Before I left I asked the lady that helped me "When do you open? I have a early flight to catch & need to drop vehicle off." She told me 24 hours which was a lie. I got there at 4:30am to find out they didn't even open until 5am so I had to jump on a shuttle to get to the airport ASAP. I asked them for a number to file a complaint which they gave me. I called and did that which was a incident. I got a email 2 days later with an apology. That's it & they closed my incident out. So I called back and stated I want to speak with someone about this so they reopened my incident. The next day I got a call from the supervisor at that location. He stated "I'm sorry" and he gave me 15% discount off my rental. I will never rent from them again. It took a total of 2 hours to get my car. They are very rude people who just don't care about you or your time.

ABSOLUTELY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER with a rental car. NEVER AGAIN will we rent from ACE. We arrived in Orlando, waited an HOUR for the shuttle, got to the rental place, which was FULL of families complaining about their rentals... Waited an hour in line only to be told we were late and had to pay an extra $10 a day for our rental. GUESS WHAT??? WE were on time... THEY were late. We left, rented CHEAPER from Hertz and had a wonderful experience there. The manager was very kind to a Hispanic family there but wouldn't do a thing for us or for the other three families they screwed.
NEVER AGAIN. I will be posting EVERYWHERE I can find about this experience, including rentalcars.com where we found this "amazing" deal. Also calling corporate. Don't do it. First of all, it's NOT cheaper, they nickel and dime you to death... It's off site and they are rude and slow and the cars are not in good shape. Save yourself the trouble and stay with a big name.

I booked a rental car through rentalcars.com and ended up with a booking from ACE Rent A Car. I booked the car about a month in advance. I had nothing but problems, right from the start. First of all, they advertise as being located at the Calgary International Airport when they are 20-30 minutes away. I didn't discover this until I arrived at the airport to pick up my vehicle. Second, we waited almost an hour for their shuttle to come and get us. There were two other parties waiting for the shuttle, three in total. On our way to pick up our vehicles, the shuttle driver tells us that they only have one car left. So, two of the three parties had to get their vehicle somewhere else. He drove us to the other side of town to Avis to pick up a rental car. THREE HOURS LATER!! We were heading to Banff National Park and only had a short amount of time to explore the area.
Having to waste three hours dealing with this company was a huge disappointment and extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, as he dropped us off, the shuttle driver assured us that Avis would have a shuttle to take us back to the airport when we drop off the rental car, free of charge. Once inside Avis, we discovered this was not true because Avis doesn't even have a shuttle service. I will never use ACE Rent A Car ever again. This was the worst service I ever received from a company. I do have to say, the individual at Avis did everything he could to help us out. I am very grateful for this understanding and for accommodating us. He gave us a better vehicle, saved us a few dollars, and made arrangements for us to be able to drop the vehicle off at the airport. The next time I rent a car, it will be with Avis NOT ACE. If I could give ACE zero stars, I would.

Beware of this company. We went to Las Vegas this week got the reservation through Travelocity. The cost for my rental of 5 days is $227.11 but they charged me $239.45 for insurance. We were told that they have two packages we can choose from, the basic package at $25/day and the full coverage at $45/day. My husband and I chose the basic for $25.00. They were in such a hurry to make us sign the paper without letting us read only reassure us that we were signing for the basic package. So we signed and when we got the bill they charged $20 dollars more a day. Before I called the rental company I called the headquarters in Los Angeles to confirm that the basic insurance is $25.00, and then I called the rental company to talk to an associate about the issue.
I was told that they only have the full coverage and they don’t carry the basic package. The company keeps insisting that the file is already closed and what’s final is final. I called back to headquarters, and they said that only the store manager where my rental was was the only person that could help me with my situation. So I called back to speak to the store manager, Andrew **. He’s worse than the associate. He claimed that they only have the full coverage package, after I confronted him about calling headquarters to confirm the price. He then changes to say that the paper we signed was the full package.
I finally understand why they make you wait so long while picking up your car. After coming off of the plane, you’re so tired and you just want to finish with the rental as soon as possible. This company comes in and takes advantage of that so they can sneak in the wrong information for you to sign. I wish I could give negative stars for this company. Horrible experience. On Saturday May 30 we rented a car from the company in the beginning everything was fine. It wasn't until the next day when my husband and I decided to check our account and notice they took a total of $378.84. Now at this point we were confused. We then called and the lady informed us that the extra $300 dollars that were taken was because of a deposit. At this point I'm really upset now because we wasn't informed of this info prior to us booking. Then she proceeds to tell us once we return the car it will take up to 5 days for them to return the money. Now I'm livid... I then ask to speak to a supervisor and then she puts us on hold for like 10-15 mins and comes back to the line and say, “Oh a supervisor isn't available.” So then I ask, “Don't by all have a policy in place for irate callers?” And then she starts getting an attitude about my money and says since she wasn't the one that I dealt with it’s not her fault...
A couple hours roll by and the supervisor calls us back and basically said the same crap the first lady said and that first thing in the morning to call him and we can call the bank together... So today we call back and then he says, “You need to call the bank and to call when you have them online.” So we hang up and dialed back not even 5 mins later and the same dumb girl we dealt with answers the phone. We request to speak with the supervisor that we just got off the phone with not even 5 mins ago and this dummy then says “Oh my supervisor is unavailable.” I'm like “Look I just spoke with the man not even 5 mins ago and I was instructed to call back with the bank on the line. I have them in the line and need to speak with him now...
Then my bank even got on the phone and said I just need the confirmation number. She then gorvreallu ride with the bank teller guy and then hung up the phone. This is BY FAR THE WORSE RENTAL CAR PLACE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED... SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE & YOUR MONEY. THEY ARE NOT WORTH A DIME!!! We rented with Ace Rent a Car, 5757 South Semoran Blvd in Orlando Fl. We will never do it again. The price was 1/3 again more than what the booking said because of all the extras that they say you need to have. Also when we left they moved so when we returned the car we had to find the new place. Seems to me that as a paying customer they should have let me know when I rented the car. I left my iPad in the car when we returned the and when I called, about an hour later, they first said it wasn't there. I told them if it wasn't there then someone must have stolen it. Guess what, they found it right away then. I was told to mail a prepaid box to them and they would mail it right back to me. That was May 3, 2016. They received my box on May 9, 2016 and they continue to tell me they mailed it!
Funny that it just isn't arriving. I hope you enjoy the iPad mini that you decided to keep and lie about. I travel twice a year from Alaska and will never, never, never use ACE again. We chose Ace for car rental in Mallorca, Spain. We discovered that they have no branch there, but have a local company - Goldcar - that serves as a partner. Goldcar is as dishonest as they come. The quoted rental price was reasonable. But... (1) they asked if we wanted their "Super Relax Coverage" (extra insurance) and we declined. But they added it anyway without telling us, and transferred our signature from the signing pad to the contract without showing the contract.
When we asked for a refund, they refused on the basis that we had received the benefit of the extra insurance. (2) they asked if we wanted a car upgrade, and we declined. But they charged for an upgrade nonetheless. (3) They charged an exorbitant fee of 30 euros for "extra cleaning" though the car was returned like any rental. When I demanded pictures they sent me two showing sand on the floor mats - something that would take 30 seconds to shake out and vacuum. These tricks almost tripled the price of the rental.
I called Ace, since I had rented from them. They chose Goldcar as a partner and they vouched for Goldcar by offering its services. But Ace's customer service department took no interest in these matters. Ace chooses dishonest partners, promotes their services, and then do nothing when their partners take advantage of their customers. I would never rent from them again!

If I could give this company less than one star I would. I reserved my rental for April 23-April 25, 2016 for 9pm. My night started out by waiting 30+ minutes for a shuttle to the off site rental building. Once I arrived I saw that there were many unhappy families waiting inside. Long story short: ACE overbooked by at least 12 families. I was there for 45 minutes before I could get an employee to talk to me about the situation and even then I was brushed off very rudely. I was told that there were luxury cars available for rent but that I would be charged an extra $100 per day despite this severe over-booking being the fault of the company. There were regular economy & mid-sized cars on the lot but all were dirty or broken. Two families were able to rent vehicles but once they paid they realized that neither of the cars would start (one of the cars was completely out of gas). I overheard them being told they could not be refunded at the store.
I called corporate which was a waste of time because no one answers the line and you are required to leave a message with your name and number to be contacted within a 24-hour period. I left my message 5 days ago and have yet to receive a callback. Please do NOT rent with this crooked company. And by the way there were cockroaches. The place was filthy. As a previous reviewer posted, I too rented from ACE the week of April 16-23. Upon arriving to the Orlando Airport, our phone call for pickup went unanswered. It was not until 30 minutes later that another family arrived and had prearranged a pickup from them. When the shuttle arrived, we hopped on board. The driver seemed very indifferent to the fact that the calls were not being answered, as were the counter people.
However, the real reason for my complaint is that on the morning of our car return at 7:00 a.m., we drove up to the car rental grounds to find a locked gate with a tiny sign on it that said "please return car rentals to ** address". We could not believe that they did not tell us we should return our car to a different address, nor did they give us at least a courtesy call. The other address was 10 minutes away! By the time it took us to find the place, return the car and wait for the shuttle, we arrived a 1/2 hour later to the airport and just made our flight. I have rented many cars in my life, and NEVER have I experience such a lack of customer service and unprofessional way of doing business. My bottom line - there are many car rental companies out there - stay away from this one!!

I will make it to the point. The site says they are "on the airport grounds" (that's the first lie). Had to board a shuttle and was driven about 20 minutes away. Rented a car on 4-17-16 in Orlando, Florida, returned it on the morning of 4-24-16. We pulled up to the locked gate (with others who were also returning cars) to find an abandoned building and lot with a tiny note on the fence that stated "if you are returning a car bring it to this address... A 10% discount will be given off your total."
I guess a call or a text or an email would have been too much to ask for. Fortunately we left very early. We did have a plane to catch. We find the new address, and ask about the discount, were told it's not off the total but the rate (the note did not state this). We asked why we were not told of the move when we got the car. We were told "we just moved 3 days ago". So just three days ago they just decided to pick up an entire business and move it, and could not tell anyone, and when asked this we got rude and snippy answers from the workers. Never again!!!

So, I called again and this time, a shuttle arrived within 10-15 minutes. As soon as we had all our luggage loaded and were in the shuttle, the driver says, "Oh, by the way, we don't have your car. So, we're taking you to another rental service."
I spoke with them twice on the phone and they never said anything about the car not being available. Turned out they had no minivans and no car seats! At the other company they took us to, they only had one seat, so I ended up driving to my hotel 20 miles away without a car seat for my infant! Our only (legal) option was to buy our own car seat... If I book the car place again when I leave I will have my visa reported as lost so any other charges will not be allowed.

Rented a car in Atlanta for 3 days, I returned the car and the charges for the rental was deducted from my card. A couple of days later I noticed that $250 dollar hold was still on my card. When call to inquire, I got the office manager who was so rude and disrespectful. If that's the service that ACE rendered to customers we as a society is in deeper trouble than I thought. I would never rent or recommend this company to anyone.

I rented a car for 4 days online from ACE at Orlando airport through Rentalcars.com. My online purchase did not require a deposit. ACE told me when I went to pick it up that it required a refundable deposit of $372.90 which was secured to my credit card, but would not be charged to it if the car was returned with no damage. I was also told I could return it up a day early if I gave them 24 hours notice, which I did. When I received my credit card statement, this month, it showed an ACE 372.90 charge for the deposit, but only a $242.93 refund which means they still owe me $129.97. I have tried to call them multiple times during daytime business hours and at night both and no one answers the phone. Like other reviewers, it sends me to the voice mail box, but it always says it is full and so I cannot even leave a message. I cannot reach anyone at ACE to try to resolve this problem.

We rented a car through this company 12/11 at 11 pm. Drove it 2 hours to where we were staying! In the am, we went out and there was oil leaking all over the ground. Called the company and they took all day to get the car towed and bring us a new car. Tow truck driver said it "was a major issue." We got back to the airport to return the car and they added the $412.50 towing fee to our bill. Unfortunately, my husband had no idea what we paid for the rental and signed the papers! So now per the company we are bound to pay this. Also, the rental we rented on 12/11 had 9720 miles, the one that got Checked had 9414 miles on it. (Ace's response it was a clerical error). I think the error was they had the wrong car checked. Do not take any chances and rent through them! It's not worth it for the stress you have to deal with!

I rented a car from them from February 8, 2016 to February 13, 2016. I told the representative Renold that I had an early flight on Saturday February 13 and had to be at airport at 4 AM. He said "We open at 5 so you can drop car off in short-term parking at airport and call us and we will pick it up." He never told me there was a pickup charge. When I called them at 5, nobody answered. When I got back home I tried calling someone to talk to about that charge and they said "You have to talk to Patrick and he is not in."
I called several time and got a voicemail that said "You can't leave a message because box is full." I guess the only way to resolve this dispute is to dispute the charge they put on my credit card. Another thing is they took a 571 dollar deposit when representative said it would be only 400. The rate was originally 29.95 per day but because I kept it one more day, they charged me 60 dollars. All together it was a bad experience. No customer service since each ACE is privately owned.

Reserved 3 vans over a month in advance from ACE, Orlando airport. With confirmations in hand as we checked in they asked for an additional $120 for the week. Reason, my name appeared on all three. By adding two additional drivers' names would require $10 per day additional charge per van. While making the reservation on the phone with a reservation specialist, there was no mention of needing the other two drivers' names. My credit card was charged $75 which was charged to my card immediately and will no doubt lose. Needless to say we left the business and went down the street to another agency and rented our vans without incident. Stay away from ACE!!

They are legally trying to get me to pay over $700 for rodent damage in the engine compartment. I had the car for two days in freezing weather, returning at 5:15 A.M. (no attendant). They stated a "check engine" light was on. I never saw one, and I would have noticed. So I drop of a perfectly fine and warm car at 5:15 AM on a freezing day, and they are coming after me to pay. I would be curious if rodent damage has happened before at this location. Have they even checked? I'll pass this up to our legal department. In twenty years of business travel, this is the first I have heard of rodent issues. I travel 140 days a year and ACE will never see another cent of my travel money.

We flew into Orlando on January 31 at 9:30 pm. We had a car reservation through Priceline.com for 57 days. When we got to the Ace counter, the young man said we had a problem and he could not rent us a car for that period of time. He said it was illegal to rent a car for that long, and we would have to enter into a lease agreement and Ace did not do that. It was late and we were tired and didn't know what to do. We had a reservation at a hotel and were planning to drive to Cape Coral for 6 weeks before heading back to Orlando. He made no suggestions and did not seem to care that 2 senior citizens were now stranded.
So we rented the car for 2 days and planned to return it to Ft. Myers and figure it out from there. The young man made it clear that they did not like to have their cars returned to a different location but was doing us a favor and charged us a premium for the service. We were left in a real bind, as we had a great price from Priceline.com and when we got to Cape Coral we started shopping online for a new rental. It was going to cost us double for a new car rental. We did find a National. We'll know car rental place that rented us a car for 55 days. We told them our story and they were flabbergasted with what was done to us. It is not illegal to rent long term. Ace Car Rental's lack of knowledge and customer service cost us a lot of time and money. They should be shut down.

I reserved a compact car and was given a large Nissan Quest van after waiting over an hour on line. The car was dirty, had tire pressure issues and it wasn't until I was on the highway for a few miles that the empty gas tank light came on. In a panic (I am a senior citizen travelling alone and now it was dark), I found a gas station before I ran out of gas. When I returned the car, I was told the employee at the counter should have told me that they don't have a gas tank there and I should return the car with the same amount of gas I found in it. It cost me $35 to fill this large tank with 17 gallons and then I returned it full as is the normal procedure when renting a car at any other car rental place. Never again.

Took a 300.00 deposit and told us we would get that back when we returned the car. That did not happen. When returning the car the deposit then became 112.00. We lost a lot of money. I think the worst part about the situation is when the supervisor called me back he told me that is how it is. He never attempted to correct the employee. Don't use ACE.

My husband and I left the Ft. Myers, FL location approximately 1.5 hours ago; leaving without the vehicle that had been reserved. My husband and I received the worst customer service that we have ever received while renting a vehicle. Numerous items were different in person than when reserved online (ie. Website stated unlimited mileage which was in person not the case, reservation stated vehicle was economy, yet vehicle available was mini-van [up charge for other type of vehicle], required a toll add on of 6 dollars per day despite routes not requiring tolls). We attempted to be good "sports". However the agent was so rude that we left without a vehicle. Upon the agent stating, "If you rent cars so often you should know rental terms better", we decided to leave. Will never rent with Ace again given so many other options available.

When checking in we were asked if we wanted insurance. We told them no, we had talked to our insurance agent and had coverage so we didn't need it. After realizing our bill was double what was quoted we tried to start calling to find out why. It was virtually impossible to reach them. It continuously went to a full voice mailbox. When I finally talked to someone, we found out the charge was for insurance!! But of course there is never a manager there for us to talk to. After a month of calling and talking to several people... one of which told me they would get the charge removed. I have just been told today they will do nothing about it.
Their customer service sucks and they pretty much stole money from us. We will never do business with ACE again and I will do everything I can to let everyone know they steal money and dodge customers that have an issue with their business practices. I don't know if every location does business this way. I know I will not be using them again anywhere.

Upon arrival and pick up, the clerk told me that I had to take insurance liability (16.99$/day) and that it was mandatory in the state of Florida. What he forgot to ask or specify that since I have insurance in Canada, I was covered for that with my insurance company back in Canada. When I returned the car, I heard another clerk explaining that to other Canadians customers, which didn't have to pay extra for the insurance liability.
I find this situation regrettable, for two reasons: first, I completely lost trust in your company and second, I cannot believe that clerk can be so dishonest to take advantage of a customer and misinformed the customer just to sell an insurance policy. The name of the clerk in question is Neil. I do hope this situation will be resolved as soon as possible.

I reserved a rental car at Ace Orlando site. Arrived and they did not have an infant car seat. Told we could not rent the car unless my grandson had an infant seat. Advised me to take the rental to an area Target (leaving my daughter and grandson behind) to purchase a seat, and they would reimburse me the $119.99 that the seat cost. When I returned, I was told the check would be available when I returned the car. Halfway to my destination (on toll roads), I noticed the tank was empty and the gas light on.
When I returned the car at 5 AM 3 days later, there was no check. To their credit, an employee called me, apologizing says the check was there in the drawer, but the clerk didn't know. They promised to mail it to me. 2 months later, multiple phone calls to Wanda, Leo (office manager), Patrick Lewis (Orlando owner), corporate office (Christina **), and certified letters with receipts, they still have not sent the check. HORRIBLE!!! Be aware that they charge a $300 deposit on top of your rental cost. This is printed nowhere on the confirmation you receive from Ace nor does it populate on any third-party travel websites. And after paying the deposit, they will tell you that it is refunded within 1 to 3 days... THIS IS A LIE! It takes 14 business days (nearly 3 weeks). While you may save a few dollars with this heck of a rental car company, it isn't worth the headache of horrible customer service, off-site pickup and dropoff and frivolous hidden charges.

We had a terrible experience with Ace car rental at Cancun. I had booked both the car and the insurance online. First of all, Ace has no presence at Cancun airport, they just pass the leads to their local partner Fox Rental. We reached their partner's shop Fox rental and they refused to honor the insurance that I had booked online because of some internal issues with Ace (or so I was told). I tried calling Ace call center and the phone reps went round and round without any help. After 1 and a half hours there, I lost my patience and we had to buy insurance from Fox at double the prices! Fox also didn't have a Toyota Corolla, so we had to settle for a lower Toyota Yaris car. I would never book with Ace in Cancun in the future and would warn others too.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. They claim it is unlimited mileage. I just happened to read the fine print. If you are from Florida, you cannot drive more than 150 miles a day. So I called and asked why. She said they were meant to rent only to people going to Disney or Sea World. I stated that that wasn't what they advertised. She was VERY rude, barely spoke English and couldn't explain exactly WHY I couldn't leave the state. She said if I drove across the state line the vehicle would shut down and I would be on foot. Had I NOT read the fine print on the 114th page of their BS contract, I would have been stranded with my 3 children alone on the side of the road in who knows where! NOT something I would've taken lightly nor was it something they made me aware of!
I then began doing some research and came across this website. I have since cancelled my reservation which states I will get a FULL refund of the $32 they take as soon as your complete the rental, but after reading the other nightmares here, I doubt that will happen. Lesson learned and I will tell everyone I know about the POS company. I am just wondering how they are still in business!

Very disappointed with Ace rental car in Orlando Florida! Booked reservation for a midsize car a month in advanced. When we got at the office they didn't have a midsize for us, they said we have to take a minivan. I told the woman that was helping us, "We reserved a midsize car not a van!" She told me, "This is all we have for you." Not happy with the van, but had no choice supposedly, got to van, it was not clean, garbage in the van and the gas wasn't full like she told us.
I told her there's a lot of marks on the outside. She gave me a paper and said "Just mark on paper of damages you see?" Very unprofessional, she kept telling us she's in a hurry cause she's now off. We felt very un-appreciate, and I wish they could get people to work there that speak better English. Our sales person could barely speak English clearly. We had other problems with this van, and I tried calling to speak to the manager that was never available. Never will we ever go with Ace Rental Car, and we will let everyone we know how we were treated! Extremely disappointed.

I would like to bring to your attention my frustration about my rental car reservation with Atlas Choice and its subcontracted rental company ACE rental car not being honored at Charlottetown Airport in PEI, Canada on July 25, 2015. Once arrived, we discovered that there was no car available for us. ACE told me that Atlas Choice had over-booked their rentals and 22 customers were trapped like us the same day. ACE advised us that Atlas Choice overbooked and the only solution would be to contact all the other car rental companies at the airport to try to find a car.
We were obliged to beg to the other rental cars, who were all aware of this shortcoming from ACE since so many customers were approaching them last-minute. We waited for many hours since it was only natural that they would serve their own customers first. Eventually from all the car renters contacted, Hertz proposed a package solution to us not negotiable at 993$. We were trapped after having trusted Atlas Choice to provide the expected car at 470$.
I raise a complaint to Atlas Choice as we contracted with them, they obviously refund us, but the delta cost we had to incur to sort the situation is not yet sorted 4 months after the issue. My piece of advice is: never use Atlas Choice and ACE car rental, you better have to pay a few more and to avoid surprises running your holidays. Raise your complaint directly to Atlas Choice CEO: Mohammad Karim, Atlas Travel Insurance Services Ltd, 3 Castle Row Chiswick, London W4 4JQ Who is managing the following companies: Atlas Direct, Atlas Insurance, Atlas Choice Corporation.
