The CS representative was very cordial. He told us all the necessary docs we have to prepare to support our claim. He told us that we will get the check within 10. We received in less 10 days. Allianz is very reliable. We will renew our insurance for 1 year term this coming September. I highly recommended ALLIANZ to our family and friends who are frequent travelers.

We began insuring all our flight when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Also, I have a 94-year-old mom in nursing care. I was supposed to go on a vacation and right before I was supposed to leave my father became very sick and hospitalized. Thankfully for Allianz, I was able to cancel my plane tickets and have the money back within a very quick timeframe. Thank you so much for all of your assistance in this matter. I would definitely recommend this company for travel insurance to anyone.

I would highly recommend Allianz for travel insurance. They took care of our claims very quickly due to flight delays and cancellations. We then had to rent a car to get home and that was covered. We have used them for the last 3 years.

I purchased this insurance along with a non-refundable airline ticket. When my husband became ill and I could not take my trip, the airlines could offer no assistance. However, the Allianz policy I purchased covered this incident, and refunded my ticket cost full.

We booked our trip and found out afterwards my wife has cancer. We’d hoped to still make the trip, but as the time approached it became apparent she would not be able to travel abroad. I contacted Allianz and they assisted me through the claim and quickly refunded our fare.

Recent RCCruise in Jan put of Port Canaveral. I always buy ins. I was very happy with the the quick claim turnaround. Missing a port of call should pay at least 150 rather 100 dollars. It would give a person some spending money but, I hope you will keep the premiums very low. Thank you.

My mom and I were taking a trip together. I submitted the online claim online a couple hours apart. Jan 17th 2020. I faxed the supporting documents together- referring to our connection on the cover letters. My claim processed rapidly. Received my check in January. My mom’s required multiple calls. 1/28 a gentleman combined our claims. No change in progression the following week. Finally I was told that it was escalated 2/7 and that Karla would review within 48 hours. 2/9 some progression in claim status. Today, it says the check was sent. What happened to delay my mom’s claim?

I was contacted by one of your claims specialist around the end of January to let me know he had processed part of my claim for Trip Delay & Change Fee. He needed more information to process Trip Interruption claim. I immediately sent him the information as well as uploaded it to my claim files. I emailed your rep several times but there has been no response. I did receive the 2 abovementioned claim checks (thank you) but the limits on the policy provided by Alaska Airlines don’t adequately cover real costs for hotel, meals etc. so after spending money on an Insurance policy still end up paying for travel events I had no control over.

After purchasing tickets for flight to FL, developed kidney stone. On advice from Dr., I had to cancel the trip. I had purchased travel insurance from Allianz. Upon submitting proof of cost to cancel the trip and Doctor's note, they quickly approved the claim and mailed me a check to cover the cost.

The claims process was a cinch. Had to cancel a pricey trip last minute. The person I was to stay with was injured and couldn’t receive guests. I was able to submit photographs of clinic documents and a PDF document and turnaround was timely and efficient. Very happy I bought the travel insurance.

I had to reschedule my flight when my mom became ill and needed to go to the hospital, and Allianz settled my claim within a matter of days. All I had to do was submit my information and some supporting evidence of my situation, and it was all handled. I received my reimbursement in just over a week. They did great, and I'm very happy I bought their insurance. Thank you!

I originally filed a claim that was denied. The letter stating that my claim was denied arrived at my home address. Circumstances changed and I had to file an appeal. My claim was approved. However, my refund check never arrived. My refund was issued on January 2nd. It is now February 14th and I still have not received payment. How is it that you had my correct address to inform me that the claim was denied, but not to issue my refund. I spoke with an agent and they were able to cancel the check and decided to issue the payment via direct deposit. I've never had an issue getting money deposited into my account. I still have not received payment. I called the company again and spoke to an agent who assured me the payment was deposited on February 7th. There were no transactions in my account on that day. I am extremely frustrated with this company.

I had 2 incidents during travel, one with delayed flight and another with delayed baggage. I could raise the claim and got the claim for the delayed flight, but I couldn't get help with customer care raising the second claim for delayed baggage, called help desk twice and sent email twice.

Halfway through my trip, my airline cancelled my flight due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The airline offered a pittance, as the one-way ticket was much more expensive than buying a round-trip. And these insurance scammers say that because there is an epidemic, they will pay nothing. You are on your own. It is insurance that insures nothing. Don’t waste your money. Don’t be a chump like me.

I paid for travel insurance but needed to cancel my trip. My claim was denied, then later I was offered about 10% of the cost of my flight as a refund (less than $30). It's a total scam and completely not worth the money.

When I had to call Allianz customer service to request a refund, the person that answered was very helpful. I was directed to the Allianz web site site, it was so easy. After filing the correct information online, I received a quick refund. I will use this service next time I travel. Thank you!

We were unexpectedly pleased with how our claim was handled and processed. Within just a day or two of submitting online we received an email of approval and within the week we had check in hand. We will definitely purchase travel insurance again as you never know what life brings!

I received an email that my claim has been denied. I would like to file an appeal on the behalf of me not knowing there was damage to the vehicle. The first time I heard there was an issue with the condition of the vehicle was when I filed the claim. The vehicle was vandalized without me knowing. I am unsure what records were submitted but had I known there was an issue with the vehicle I would've filed a claim. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. 11/02/19 - I returned the rental. The Sixt personnel examined the car and stated everything was fine. He only mentioned the license plate not being in the front of the car. No damage was brought to my attention. 11/11/19- Received an email from the car rental company about damage to the vehicle. Date of Loss: 11/02/2019. ACM File#: **. Vehicle: 2019 Hyundai Elantra. 11/12/19- Claim number: ** submitted with Allianz. 11/21/19- Received notice of the claim being denied.
I've been working with Kalinda ** at Global Allianz appeal department. I've answered all her questions and she has since stop responding to me. I've read your Terms and Conditions and Vandalism is covered under the insurance I purchased. I have no idea while this is not being paid out but I do not want to take legal action against the matter. This is an inconvenience to me being a customer of yours and purchasing your insurance. This is also the most unprofessional way to go about handling business. I will NEVER purchase their insurance again.

Before filing my claim, I called in to ask a few questions early in the evening and had a very difficult time understanding and hearing the lady on the phone. There was shouting and loud laughter and was told they were either having or going to have a pizza party. I was told to go online and file a claim. At that time, I was not a very happy customer. Once I was able to do that with the help of my daughter, the claim was processed extremely fast which I really appreciated.

Made a flight reservation for a medical trip to a doctor in another state. The doctor had to cancel my appointment because of a personal emergency and could not see me till two weeks later. Purchased Allianz at the same time as booking tickets on Delta. Called Allianz. They said the reason was not covered. This insurance is junk and not worth the premium. In another instance I purchased insurance at the time of booking from them 7 weeks prior to departure and tried to cancel the insurance 5 weeks before departure and could not because of 10 day policy. NEVER EVER WILL I BUY ALLIANZ fake insurance.

I had a weather delay while on my trip. Would have been stuck at O'Hare for 2 days. Rented a car to get home and it was covered. Just keep in mind that getting all of the required paperwork is a pain.

I was told that my insurance would not cover assisting me in getting return flight when my original flight was canceled, and only for "delay" expenses up to $150. Even after I explained that the airline did not have a flight option for me at that point. So I was stuck an extra 2 days before the airline itself could help get me home (airline would not upgrade me to higher class even though there were seats available) which meant lost income, increased expenses for parking, and patients not seen.
I was shocked when I was told the only thing I was told this insurance would cover was a hotel/meals/transportation up to $150. Thankfully I didn't need hotel as I was able to stay with family because 2 nights in a hotel, meals, and transportation would have been well over $150 in that area. Very disappointed as I thought this insurance was to help me when these things happen.

Due to the earthquakes in PR I felt I would be safer if I canceled my trip for now. Placed a claim online for a penalty charge that the airline imposed on me for cancelling. The turnaround time for a refund was less than than they told me. Overall experience with Allianz, pain free. I would purchase insurance again.

I missed my train because the bus was late because of a 4 hour traffic delay on interstate. I had to get a motel room. I remembered I had travel insurance, I really didn’t figure it would pay for my additional out of pocket expenses. It was quick and easy to file a claim. I scanned proof of tickets, cost of motel and in a very short time they reimbursed the cost of my motel. I was so surprised at how easy it was and how quickly they paid.

This is EXACTLY WHY you should always purchase trip insurance. We were forced to stay overnight at our connection location and the airline forgot a room for a travel companion. She was forced to pay out of pocket for that mistake. She submitted proof of expenses and she was courteously and quickly compensated. I would recommend Allianz to all my fellow travelers.

I initially purchased the insurance because we had a parent having surgery. Booking so far in advance, I was afraid we might have to cancel for health reasons. We ended up going on our trip but it had a long delay due to flooding at the airport. We never expected something like that but the claim process was very easy. Easily claim format, with detailed information about required information needed. Called once and an efficient answering assistant answered all of our questions about submission. Payment received and the check format was the requested format. I’m also very happy that the physician statement was not required to file the claim. Relatively painless process: while I was unsuccessful getting anybody to email me back after entering information into the website to make a “inquiry” picking up the phone and calling Allianz directly was extremely helpful. The representative informed me of my coverage and was very clear about the next steps. It then took approximately two minutes to complete my claim. My claim was approved within five business days and my check arrived within 10 days.

After a recent flight delay which caused a missed connection. An unscheduled Airport Hotel stay was necessary. The process was simple and clear in filing my claim and the money was paid in a timely manner. Although not a complete reimbursement, it was satisfactory to at least get a majority of what I had to outlay.

I booked a room with trip protection. The day of check-in, I found the same room cheaper through the hotel directly, rather than Expedia. I filed a claim that same day and got confirmation. 10 days later, I received no answer still. I contacted them again, and had to submit all over again. Finally, they did give me the price match guarantee, but it was a hassle. I spent $9 on trip protection and got a $20 refund, so $11 net gain.

I was very pleased with the whole of the experience. I was in the unfortunate situation of having to cancel my travel plans due to an illness in our party. My daughter got ill the weekend of her camp. Allianz quickly refunded the cost. You never think you need the insurance, but I was glad I bought it. It doesn’t cost much and it was worth having since the camp was well over $100. Thank you for the help!

This is a must service if you are renting abroad. The price was very reasonable and with the very intuitive website that they have for claims, you can upload all the necessary documentation for a claim and it was resolved within days. This is actually the second time in a few years that I have needed to make a claim and it has always been fantastic. Highly recommended!!

A complete fraud of a company. I currently have the simplest insurance claim, a rock hit my rental car window. 4 months later they are still paperwork trolling me even though they have every piece of paper I got from the rental company. Just so you know, my credit company TD Platinum Travel card (which Allianz is contacted with) has called to complain to them and they don't care. If they won't pay me for this simple basic claim they won't pay you anything, ever.

Was stuck in the Burbank airport waiting for a flight to a Boston on Nov. 10, 2019. Flight was delayed 7 hours because of mechanical issues. When I called, rep was uncaring and condescending. $75 for a $429 fare isn’t worth it. I won’t be buying from you again.

We were unable to use our train tickets to Venice because of the flooding that occurred. The person we dealt with on the phone was knowledgeable, accommodating, and very nice. We were able to get our refund of almost $400.

The first person I talked to to ask about filing a claim wasn't helpful and told me it would be too late to file a claim. That just didn't sound right to me so I called again and the next person told me what to do and within a few days, my claim was paid. That person was very helpful and made it easy to file my claim.

We have been customers for 20+ years. We always buy travel ins and from Allianz (& its predecessor, Access America). It has come in handy on many occasions, now more than in the past as we are now Medicare, so out of country medical expenses are not covered. Do watch out if your "trip delay" is for a brief illness (we had a week delay due to appendicitis) - they said they would not pay us unless we cancelled the $25,000 trip! We did not need to CANCEL, only delay! Not sure about that one. Pay us about $500 to change flights or $25,000? Just a heads up. They have come thru on many claims for us so we will continue to use them.

This may not fit your description for a refund because someone needs to change their plans and cancel. I did get one flight refunded, while the other flight was not refunded. This confused me. I did try to talk with someone there on the phone about it. In the whole grand scheme of life. I have moved past this decision regardless if I did not get my money back. Thanks for reading this.

I booked two Jet Blue Flights; both from FL to MA. I insured both with Global Allianz as I knew there was a possibility I would have to stay in MA for medical reason and thus not return to FL and not use the last leg of the first flight and not use the second flight at all. I found out I needed surgery and had a doctor's note. Global Allianz was responsive by telephone to explain the claims process to me. When I filled out the information online there was some problem with Global Allianz consolidating claims for both flights; it was confusing to them. I spoke with very well informed and extremely helpful customer service agents who were able to consolidate the claims.
The claim for the first flight had already been paid. They had to go back into their system, attach the two claims electronically, review both and send a second check for the loss of the second flight. They told me how much time this would take. They offered a way to review their process online as they were processing the claim. They were exceptionally responsive, always seeking to better understand my concerns, and ultimately solved the problem promptly. I received payment within a week following my calls. I highly recommend their insurance when it comes to medical issues (the only issue I can speak to). They are professional, responsive and very easy to work with.

We were pleasantly surprised that there were "no surprises" when we requested the trip cancellation refund due to my husband's surgery prior to the planned trip. A lot of people have differing opinions about whether it is worth it to invest in the trip insurance. In our case it was worth about $700+ that would have been lost due to unforeseen medical circumstances when we booked the airfare. Thank you Allianz!

When I fell ill and could not travel, I feel that Allianz was extremely helpful and responsive. Once I submitted a brief letter from my doctor, they immediately approved payment and I received the check very rapidly. The website could be a little clearer on what kinds of documentation are required, however.

I bought Allianz travel insurance few times. However 1st time submitted claim. It's been a month and I keep getting emails that they need additional information. 3 days of my vacation ruined because of missed connection, arriving day late to Aruba and baggage arriving on 3rd day. I called, representative reported that everything is ok however few days later another email regarding additional information. I lost day of accommodations, rental car, 3 days of vacation time. Receipts provided but looks like I need statement from Trump or someone else to process claim.

We had purchased trip insurance last year for our airline tickets to St. Maarten when we purchased the actual tickets- one was points + insurance and the other was full fare + insurance. On December 16, I received information regarding problems on the island, including warning from US Embassy of the Caribbean. We canceled our trip. No problems canceling our hotel on the French side. Our timeshare on the Dutch side- they understood and refunds were given. I contacted Allianz to get reimbursed for both airfares and submitted two claims as they were two separate policies. The one for $178 (points reinstatement) was approved and paid. The full fare ticket for $1032 was reviewed, and denied. The same documentation was submitted for both. I was told over and over that the policy does not cover civil unrest and safety issue. We are extremely disappointed especially since one was approved.

Honestly I wish there was an option to rate Allianz insurance a zero instead of a one. I purchased 2 tickets for me and my boyfriend to Haiti which was for $1000+ something. I had to pay extra for the insurance just In case. Couple month later when the time was close we had to cancel the trip due to a lot that’s going on in Haiti like protesting against the president, sex trafficking, violent crime, civil unrest, and kidnapping, tire burning, and road blockages and a lot of robbery. Tourist could not travel because they were getting killed and rob. Every road was block. We wouldn’t be able to get to our destination. People were literally dying of hunger due to them not being able to leave the houses to go grocery shopping because they would get killed.
So we decided to cancel our trip because there was no way we would jeopardize our life like this. I contacted Allianz and told them what was going on, they told me to file a claim, so I filed the claim it took them like a month or more to review my claim. I Kept calling them. The person I was talking to said they didn’t receive the documents. I had to resend them like 3 time. It took them an another 2 weeks to send me an answer AND SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE BENEFITS COVERAGE. So I ended loosing the $1000+ and also the extra money that I pay just for the insurance. It’s crazy how we could’ve got killed but they do not care about that. Allianz does not care about anything. All they care about is making their money but don’t really care about people safety or their reasons. Save your self the headaches and take some other insurance company. ALLIANZ IS SUCKS.

Our flight from Maine to Atlanta was delayed due to weather and we missed our connection. Delta rebooked us on a flight that would have got us home well over 24 hours later that our original flight. I would have missed work and my son would have missed his next flight. To prevent this we had to rent a car in Atlanta and drive 8 hours (all night) to get home in time. Despite extensive documentation of everything (all receipts, boarding passes, GPS logs, etc.) Allianz refused to reimburse us for the rental car. They would only reimburse us for the minimum that is promised with any claim -- which was not even close to what we actually had to pay. I will never buy from them again.

I am being retained by a Law firm as an expert witness in a case. They scheduled my Deposition for a specified date, so I purchased my ticket and the travel insurance as I am experienced in working with Law firms and Attorneys, who sometime need to reschedule court dates, Depositions etc. Sure enough, three days prior to my scheduled Deposition, the Law firm notified me that they were needing to reschedule me for a later date.
I contacted Allianz and explained, they instructed me to upload documents explaining reason for cancellation. I acquired a letter from the Law firm, explaining their need to cancel and reschedule my Deposition. Allianz ultimately denied my claim for $538 explaining due to lack of documentation and there being no medical issues. I will NEVER PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE from ALLIANZ and will be sure to share with all my Collegues that Allianz is not truly travel insurance as we all might think, as it is only applicable for medical emergency purposes, which like all other scams IS NOT CLEARLY articulated when purchasing your tickets online.

Bought concert tickets and could not make it to the concert day of. Caught a 24 hr bug or something, was not going to be able to stand for the duration of the concert let alone enjoy it. Did not go and filed a claim in the following days. Long story short after numerous phone calls and emails, with their poor customer service and piss poor excuse for communication, have no received any info or refund on my tickets. Extremely pissed. Would not recommend Allianz insurance to my worst enemy. Garbage service, garbage business.

I have been a firm believer in buying flight insurance, but have never had the opportunity to file a claim—until now. My wife cancelled her trip because of a teenage emotional breakdown in our household. When we filed a claim, it was denied because “mental health” was not a covered circumstance. When we purchased her ticket on Delta.com, we had no idea what was a “covered circumstance” so we had no reasonable way to assess the level of coverage we were purchasing. This is very frustrating to say the least. I will be reporting them to our state insurance agency. Meanwhile, my advice is to not buy flight insurance—unless, that is, you’re absolutely sure about what kind of coverage you’re getting. Buyer beware!

Bought this to protect my flight and had to change reservation and wasn't covered under their "terms" which is total bs - when you buy insurance it should cover these types of changes, I'll never insure anything with this company as long as I'm alive.

We had a relatively straightforward accident while on a trip to Iceland this summer, but luckily we had bought insurance (we thought). We kept all the paperwork and sent in literally everything the insurance company asked for, but we are still getting a run around for getting paid. We completed all the necessary paperwork, sent multiple emails, and spent way too much time on hold trying contact any who can help, but all of this has been in vain. It has been extremely frustrating. Bottom line: look somewhere else for travel insurance. This was a complete waste of money and an excruciating and unresolved headache.

While on a trip to Norway, we received notice that our return flight had been cancelled by British Airways. Our trip had to be extended one day to get the next flight out. This entailed additional expenses for us for another night in a hotel and meals. British Airways refused to compensate us. I called Allianz, and the agent I contacted was very helpful. The process of submitting a claim was fairly easy, and the review did not take long. Before we knew it, we had received a check for our extra costs.

I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to download a one-size-fits-all kind of form and then figure out what pertained to me and what didn't. As much as we hated to cancel our trip, Allianz made it very easy to fill out the paperwork and send it via email. Also the our paperwork was reviewed and approved very quickly. When you must cancel a vacation, it is very unsettling but Allianz makes it as easy as possible to gather and forward them the information they need to process the request.

Bought one of these that keep getting pushed to you when buying an airline ticket, thinking what if something goes wrong and it's an expensive trip, etc... It was a trip to Hong Kong, and we bought it about 9 months in advance, paid $120 for the insurance. When the time drew close we had to cancel the trip due to the protests going on all over Hong Kong, people getting tear gassed, not a safe place to travel to, etc. The airline reimbursed the 2 tickets right away, minus the $200/ticket fee, but to our surprise the claim we made with AIG for the $400 cancellation charges was... denied!!!! :)
When I called to figure out how to submit the claim I was told that we could cancel for pretty much any reason, that's why we had insurance, but after following the claims procedure it took more than one month to review the claim, and deny it. When I called to find out why, the explanation from the claims adjuster was... it must be considered a terrorist attack/situation by the US government for them to accept the claim we made pertaining to 'destination became uninhabitable'. Bottom line, insurance is very difficult, these companies are out to get your money, not looking out to provide insurance... Luckily it was just the cancellation fees, but we're out $120 for the insurance plus $400 for the fees, there's just no way to win it, they're crooks.

Process for reimbursement was quick. Had to cancel our tour to Japan due to medical problems. Tour company took care of the majority of the paperwork. Only hangup was getting the medical confirmation from the physician. I felt the minimal charges were fair and reasonable.

I purchased the Allianz insurance because I like the added peace of mind. When my flight was delayed and I couldn't get to my final destination at a decent time, I was glad I had the insurance. The online claim was easy to understand and made the process quick and painless. It took a few days to review the claim, but the communication I received at each point was clear. It was a little cumbersome gathering the necessary claim documents. Don't know why the claim has to be notarized as this task was cumbersome to get around with limited mobility. However, once submitted online, the credit came much sooner than expected.

I’m gonna be honest, I used Allianz but the fact they crawled into my business on why I was canceling was unsatisfactory. I just wanted to get my refund which I did but the process to get it was unsatisfactory that they crawled into my business. I probably would use them again in the future if they got better with their customer service as she was rude to me about it.

Before I started the process, I contacted a Representative for tinfoils on what documents were needed. She was very helpful. I submitted the required items to Allianz and was kept up-to-date on the progress. I was notified within ten days of the return amount I would be receiving and a check followed. Due to a recent cancer diagnosis for my husband, we were forced to cancel our holiday travel plans. We booked our cruise and flights about 18 months ahead of actual travel. We are in our 70's and a lot of things can interfere with a travel plan in that period, so we bought insurance from Allianz (the carrier offered by our travel agent). Our travel plans came off splendidly, however my wife was sick with a respiratory illness on board the ship. Allianz has a simple online procedure for filing a medical claim, We used that and were fully reimbursed for her medical treatments and medications less than a month after filing. We are very satisfied with the service from Allianz.

Bad weather forecast caused me to reschedule for an earlier flight back. I spoke with someone about a refund and they helped me with the contacts I should make. Always get insurance and haven’t ever had to use it, but when Delta suddenly canceled my flight and wouldn’t rebook until the next day and said they wouldn’t offer refunds because it was “due to weather” even tho other airlines were flying out that night, I was able to get reimbursed for a flight on another airline. Had an issue with booking, needed to cancel. Customer service was absolutely rude the whole conversation. I was talked over and he wouldn't listen to my situation when I tried to explain. All he did was say "go to this website and submit the paperwork needed". Didn't explain what paperwork or website to go to. I had to figure out what to do on my own. When I had called to figure out what I could do in the first place. Very disappointed with customer service and how unprofessional they were. However once I had figured out what to do on my own. The process was quick and handled with the money in my hand in about 3 weeks.

I had to cancel my hotel last minute due to the flu. Was a little skeptical about this, but thank God I had Allianz travel insurance. Having a very disappointing experience with Allianz. Booked a trip to Asia in January 2019 for November 2019. Husband needed knee surgery in August. He was unable to travel in November per doctor's orders. We submitted all requested documents. We received a letter December 2 saying the trip would be reimbursed. Still have not received the reimbursement. Just spoke to a supervisor who says now the claim approval was an error and is being reviewed in an "unknown location" and unknown length of time!! What kind of service is this??

I purchased a travel insurance policy that included $2500 of trip cancellation insurance. Allianz did a very poor job communicating everything once a claim was filed. They said they needed proof of the airfare and hotels so I sent the booking and credit card slips. They never got back to me to say what they really wanted was proof of cancellation on each of these items, instead they just closed the claim. Then they short paid me and sent no accounting of why they paid less than the claimed amount. Likely I will still get the shortage back after complaining and talking to supervisors but I shouldn't have to do this. This might be fine company if your trip is a packaged trip but for an independent trip with multiple legs way too hard to satisfy them and get a live body on the phone. There are much easier to work with companies out there.

And this travel insurance company are just impossible to reach but once you get hold of them they denied that it’s included to your insurance. Great service, with no real issues. I had to cancel a business flight due to a court summons for an adoption. I canceled my flight and submitted the proper forms and evidence, and promptly received a check in the mail for the refunded flight. The only part of the experience that could have been better was navigating to find the proper cause for the claim, which had a very long list where I wasn't entirely sure I had selected the most relevant/correct category to file under.

This was the most easy insurance company I have ever worked with. We travel a lot and I have never purchased insurance but being we were going during hurricane season I thought why not it was only $76.00. Well on our way back from Miami to Eureka we got to San Francisco and our flight was cancelled and it was 6:30 pm and they could put us on stand by the next night at 10 pm. We declined and rented a car and drove the 6 hours home. The next day I went to Allianz website and put in my claim they asked for proof of the flight being canceled and my trip info I took photos of everything attached it and emailed 7 days later I got a check! I highly recommend Allianz easy to work with and fast to respond.

I purchased the insurance for my flight thinking it was a minimal cost to cover the "just in case" that I had no intention of having to deal with... But come the week before my scheduled travel, "life" happened and I found myself in a position that I would be unable to make my vacation a reality. On a Saturday I contacted Allianz and spoke with a rep that guided me through the process of initiating a claim. It was not difficult and everyone I dealt with was extremely understanding and helpful. I was able to recoup my cancelled travel cost with minimal hassle. I had two different occasions this year where I needed to use the flight insurance I had purchased. This first time, I rescheduled the flight due to an illness. The second time a few months later, I had to cancel on a work flight across the country because of a knee injury laid me up. Both times, I had the best experience with this company. The process takes a little bit of time, but is pretty straightforward. The first time, I called customer service and was walked through the process. Second time, I knew what documents were needed and it took about a half hour of my time - total. My wife and I have been long time customers of Allianz Insurance. Initially I was purchasing several policies a year to cover our travel. Last year while talking with an agent, she asked if I had ever considered a full year policy. She explained that I could get the same coverage as I was getting on my individual policies at a lower price. After reviewing the All Trips Premier Plan and getting a one year quote, I purchased one. That plan expired in the middle of a trip this year and it was so easy to purchase another plan prior to leaving so we did not have a break in coverage. Allianz is so easy to work with and their claim service is excellent. As often happens on a cruise, I had to visit the ship's doctor due to a bad cold. Upon returning home, I filed a claim including the requested documentation. My claim was quickly process by Allianz and the costs reimbursed. Great service.

It was my first experience with a travel insurance, in a trip to Brazil. I was very well attended to my needs. Unfortunately I had to come back home sooner, due to a sudden health problem I had there, to be treated here. They provided my expatriation completely. And this Friday I finally going to have my surgery, after several struggling tests were done here. But definitely I recommend this company to anybody. They were great, paid for my all hospital expenses in Brazil and my full expatriation.

I emailed the info re the flight and problems with additional proof of the situation - and Allianz was quick to respond! They even had a lovely note with the refund!!! I will definitely use them again when I travel.

I had to cancel my flight and re-route my daughter. Long story short, I ended up spending $1000 to make these changes due to an accident where I ended up in the hospital. You guys took care of it with flying colors right away.

We've been buying Allianz for many years and we have always appreciated their excellent coverage, affordable prices, and quick reimbursements for claims. We have recommended you to many people over the years. This latest claim was for my daughter's trip interruption due to a death in the family of her travel companion. Wow. I opted to buy travel insurance and never thought my seminar date would change. And then it did. I freaked out. For the extra $28 I paid it saved me at least $200 on the AA change fee. I would never hesitate to buy it again. Great product.

Cancelled flight. I have not heard where my reservation stands with insurance. Had to cancel. My only response from insurance has been that my case will be reviewed. No other correspondence. It is undetermined if insurance was worth the cost or not. Would love a response.

I had an accident while in Europe and I was impressed with the service person who took my call. I received follow up calls and was given multiple options during these calls. Representative was sympathetic and kind. Quick resolution for my claim on my return to states. Highly recommend this insurance.

Due to an illness, my trip was cancelled. I had purchased Allianz insurance when I bought my ticket. JetBlue refunded all but $100. I filed a claim with Allianz in a very easy process. They approved my claim within days and sent a check a few days later. I was very happy that they came through for me in a short time. I'm pleased and would purchase this insurance again.

Allianz was very understanding and prompt in handling our cancelation. We have used them previously and have always been very pleased with them. I will not use any other travel insurance company besides Allianz. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Have filed two claims with Allianz, each time uploading to their site exactly what they requested, only to be asked for the same information (and new information) multiple times. Both times related to concert ticket insurance where I could not attend due to work requirements. It is impossible, as usual with internet based companies, to reach a real person; however, if you contact the Allianz Travel offices (866-884-3556 as of today), you can eventually reach a real person to assist. All the information on the ticket insurance site (and the associated texts and emails) will not provide that number - they try to only handle things by upload and fax. This is troublesome as they continue to ask for the same information, even after uploading, so this site and company are very disorganized.
Be aware, if you file a ticket claim due to work, they will ONLY ask for a letter from your employer, at first, and you get an email saying they have what they need. They will then come back and ask for proof you paid for the tickets (which is odd as you purchase the insurance in conjunction with buying the tickets), and they will then come back later and ask for the actual tickets, which is not easy considering everything is mobile entry these days. They should be asking for these items all upfront at once and letting you upload all. Part of me thinks they are just intentionally delaying matters to hold up payment, a common practice with large international companies. Just be aware of the challenges in dealing with this company.

I purchased flight insurance for a trip I booked for my boyfriend and I. I was hospitalized due to mental health and could no longer make my trip, I was denied any sort of refund because mental health is a policy exclusion. I am very dissatisfied by this as I wasted my money purchasing this insurance. My flight in total was close to $500 dollars and I will never use this service again. Stay away if you have any sort of mental illness as they don't care whatsoever.

I bought Allianz trip insurance when I ordered my airline tickets through the AAA. I broke my arm 4 days before the trip. I followed the directions on the Allianz website to make my claim for a refund. It was easy to upload the requested documents. I thought it would be just the beginning of a long, drawn-out process, & I would probably have to provide more documentation. What a pleasant surprise to receive notification in less than a week that my claim had been approved. I received a check (the payment method I requested) in the mail shortly thereafter. At a time when dealing with a broken arm was making my life more difficult in a lot of ways, it was SO NICE to have the trip insurance claim process go easy! Thanks, Allianz! Best $25 I ever spent!

This has happened a few times now. I buy an airline ticket on Delta Airlines and then change or cancel the airline ticket. Allianz does not refund the policy if the airline ticket is cancelled and getting the funds back takes time and hassle. I am not buying this insurance any longer.

This insurance is for medical emergencies only, not if you decide to just change your travel plans. I made plans to travel from Dallas to Virginia for Christmas and booked the flight in Sept. and purchased the insurance in case something came up and needed to change the itinerary. At the time of purchase I looked at the policy and on the trip protector gives 12 benefits and one of those is change fee protection. Until I tried to used. I called in early Dec. to change my plans and when I stated that disclaimer I was told it doesn't cover it and instead was sent by email a different policy that doesn't state what I read on the AA website.

I purchased two tickets to Hamilton which ran about $550. Wasn't able to make it due to a medical issue due to a psychiatric medication reaction (migraine, anxiety), and on the advice of my doctor couldn't go to the event. On the Ticketmaster checkout page when deciding to buy the event protection, it claims any documented health issues would be covered, along with a multitude of other covered reasons.
They fail to mention however, that anything mental health related isn't considered valid, along with anything they deem to be preexisting. After reading multiple reviews on other sites, i.e. Y E L P, it is apparent that they resort to some form of plausible deniability in any of the categories they promise to cover due to fine print legalese. They offer low-cost event insurance without any intention of actually paying out any claims. All you are purchasing is a false sense of security. In hindsight, this is blatantly obvious as I paid about 40 dollars insurance on a 550 dollar pair of tickets. Any insurance company is going to be profit driven, and in their case, it wouldn't be feasible to actually pay out claims with the amount they charge.

Our family took a Royal Caribbean cruise and due to bad weather we were unable to dock at one of our ports of call and instead just sailed around that day. Never went back to that port. We had taken out the travel insurance as suggested by our AAA travel agent. We notified Allianz of what happened and sent in documentation showing we missed the port. Our claim was handled quickly, and professionally.
