Refund on policy due to cancellation of flight. Had to cancel flight due to coronavirus and my health issues with COPD.. My doctor had suggested that I do not travel to the Philippines during this crisis with coronavirus, because of my age and COPD, which is very chronic.

First time we used Allianz, and unfortunately on our recent trip to New Zealand February 2020, we were part of a National State of Emergency due to excessive flooding in the Milford Sound Area. Fortunately it resulted in us only missing one night in one of the hotels, and we were compensated by Allianz. The check arrived about two weeks after claim was submitted. I appreciated being able to talk to a real person when I called. My husband and I needed to change our flight plans because of the health needs of my elderly mother. Our additional airfare costs and rental car was reimbursed with very little effort on my part. Within a few weeks of my submitting receipts, a check arrived with the total amount I had requested.

I’m glad I had insurance for a trip we were taking to Jakarta. Due to the coronavirus, we were concerned about travel. Two of our travelers had been sick with the flu for weeks. We knew that a 16 hour trip could send them back into a full-blown fever. We had to cancel our trip. Having insurance got us our money back. It doesn’t make sense to take a chance when you’re traveling. Buy the insurance.

I developed health issues after booking my flight that did not allow me to fly on an aircraft and take the trip. I was very happy that I took the insurance. Having insurance sure helped with this unforeseen situation. I did have a letter from my doctor advising that I could not fly. Allianz was very responsive and reimbursed my flight cost in a timely manner.

Sudden medical needs on a Disney Cruise to Mexico landed us paying out of pocket for unforeseen expenses. We submitted our claim and were paid within days - all done on the App! It was unfortunate my husband and I needed to spend the Christmas holiday apart due to his 94 year old mother's illness and we would not be able to spend time all together as a family. We knew this could be a possibility and obtained insurance just in case. Never having used insurance before we didn’t know if it would help in our situation. After following clear instructions online and uploading documents we were approved to get our refund of flight fare for additional fares and changes in flights purchased. I am so very impressed with this company and will be buying insurance in the future.

Our ski trip was interrupted due to weather both going and returning. The customer service representative we spoke to was very understanding and provided great assistance in making sure our claim was filed correctly, even pointing out some things we should have included. I became ill and was unable to travel. After obtaining a letter from my physician, Allianz promptly returned the cost for me to buy back my air miles. I recently booked a trip to Japan with one of my friends. Long story short we had to cancel due to preexisting health conditions and the coronavirus outbreak. They did not refund me a cent, and said that there were exclusions in the travel coverage. One of which being epidemics, even though I had a doctor's note prohibiting me from travel. They are trying to save their own from losing an insane amount of money. However the financial deficit was much greater on my end. I had worked all year to save up for this trip, and now to throw $1,334 away without any real reason. Just another example of greedy corporation doing whatever they can to make more money. I'm so glad this two trillion dollar company did not have to reimburse an 18 year old her flight to Japan. Do NOT buy their travel insurance, it's not worth it and they will scam you. It's better to deal with the airline directly.

We obtained Allianz insurance for our airline tickets for a trip. We cancelled a trip for medical reasons. Allianz reimbursed us full price for the cancelled air tickets. This total process, claim submitted to refund received, took about a week with minimal effort on our part. Thank you for the excellent service. Our comparison is the response by CSA Travel Protection which we used for the condo rental. With CSA, there was significant paperwork required, complex instructions and it has been a few weeks with no response other than “they will get to it when they can assign a claim manager." In looking at the reviews of CSA (mostly negative), we should not have used them and won’t in the future.

Had to change flight a week earlier due to an unforeseen medical problem. Allianz refunded my change fee within 7 days. Great, friendly, helpful customer service. There was never a question about why I had to change my flight. They simply asked for the 2 itineraries.

I was able to take pictures of all necessary documents and submit my claim while still at the airport. The claim was reviewed, processed and I had my reimbursement in less than two weeks. I never communicated with any actual person. I have absolutely no complaints.

I had to cancel a planned trip because of illness. The claim process on Allianz's website was easy. I just had to provide copies of a few documents to file the claim. The claim was processed very quickly and my airfare was refunded within a few days. During the process there was excellent communication from Allianz via email.

Allianz was also preparing to refund a seat enhancement that was not refunded by the airline. Allianz needed proof that was the case and when was asked for documentation from the Airline, they decided to refund it on their own but Allianz was preparing to process another $380.

Great, fast claims payout, but expected a full payout of the about $300 US rather than the $150 I got. I assume the $150 payout was the "no receipt" amount listed on the site, but I DID submit a receipt, so not sure why that was.

I always use Allianz for trip insurance and they are wonderful and fast with all responses and problem resolutions. I have used them over 10 times in the past years. They have never given me any hassle when I have submitted claims and always answered all my questions.

I received an email from you guys saying everything was in order. Check would be delivered in 10 days for full amount. That was on February 6, 2020. Today is March 6, 2020 and I still have not received the check. I tried calling and they said the lines were too busy to send an email. I sent Sent an email asking what’s up and have received no response. I am still waiting for $900 plus reimbursement check. Can you help.

My flight was CX due to weather. I was very pleased with the speed for the quick response. The check was in my hands in just a few days. And the process was very simple. The online process just took a few minutes. I just attached a photo of the hotel bill.

I bought 2 tickets to an Illenium concert a month in advance but wasn't sure if something would come up later down the line so I decided to buy insurance on them just in case. A week before the event, I have found out that I could not go because of my great grandma's birthday, who has traveled from Hong Kong to the U.S. to visit relatives she has not seen in years or even met. I have submitted a claim about this situation and I have not gotten an email back from Allianz and their customer service team.
I decide to call them and they say I need to provide proof such as a birth certificate! How on earth am I supposed to send them such personal and confidential material such as that?! Also, I cannot make my great grandma get a copy or picture of her birth certificate because she is not at home. This is so frustrating because as a college student, losing $250 for no good reason is so detrimental to a student's budget. Also, if someone buys insurance on something, especially for something simple and little as concert tickets, shouldn't it be easy to get a refund back? Apparently, it's not so simple because I might as well give them my grandma's social security. I want my money back Allianz!!!

My frustration comes from the fact that I responded around the 14th of February, 2020 that even though your website shows that a check for my claim was issued on 2/5/2020, I have not yet received it. Today is March 3, 2020 and no one has called or sent me a reply and I have yet to receive a check for my claim. In fairness the claim was processed in a timely fashion, but the important part, the payment, has yet to happen. Please reply to me promptly.

I want to share my experience with Allianz Travel Insurance. I was visiting my son and family in Germany when I had a stroke. I was admitted to the hospital on December 25, 2019. My son contacted Allianz and they took it from there. They paid a large portion of the hospital bill, but that is not all. They also had an escort with me, which happened to be a nurse. From the moment I left my son's home until I arrived in my home in Michigan, she was with me every step of the way.. When we arrived in the Detroit airport, there was another driver to drive us to my home. I can't say enough about my experience!

It was a international award trip protector III policy number ** issued August 14 2019 and effective August 15 2019. And the address state abbreviation is AE which stands for Armed Forces in Europe so you should update your stat codes.

My trip starting in Austin, TX on December 2, 2019 to visit my daughter who lives with her family in Europe didn't start off very well. I fell, really hard & flat on my face, in the Munich main train station the day we arrived. The paramedics came and after examining my very scrapped face, said that I might have a brain bleed & they should take me, in their ambulance, to the hospital. I was treated in the ER and had to pay them 200 euros before I could be released. A few months later, I received a bill from the ambulance for over 900 euros! I paid it & decided to submit a claim for reimbursement from Allianz Global. Thank goodness I had bought their trip insurance. I wasn't very hopeful and couldn't believe it when I soon received two checks which more than covered the ambulance and hospital bills.
If you are traveling, I strongly urge you to get trip insurance through Allianz Global. I visit my daughter 2-3 times a year and will always purchase their very reasonably priced trip insurance. Hopefully I won't ever need to submit another claim. But if something happens, I know that Allianz Global will help me right away. Thank you Allianz Global Assistance!

I was so glad I bought Emergency Medical Insurance with your insurance company. I never hesitate buying an insurance like this because l I never know what lies ahead of my trip. When I was in the Philippines, I got sick and had been hospitalized for two on an emergency. When I returned back to the United States in Illinois, I submitted my claims. Then without any questions after submitting the required documents, I got my check for my emergency medical and travel delay. It was an awesome experience that your company can be relied upon on these instances. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your company to my family and friends to get insurance coverage from you. Normally we only purchase travel insurance for International Travel but on this occasion we purchased the travel insurance for a trip to Sacramento CA. Midway through our trip I broke my left hand, needed to visit emergency care, a local orthopedic doctor and then cut our trip short and return home to set my orthopedic surgeon. Things can happen. Luckily we did have the Allianz Trip Insurance. I spoke to an customer support agent, downloaded the mobile application. I then utilized the information that I had obtained to receive reimbursement for our incremental travel expenses incurred for our shortened trip. The electronic claim filing was intuitive and did not require any addition customer support calls. Once the claim was filed, we received a reimbursement check very quickly. I am very satisfied and highly recommend using the travel insurance as Things Can Happen!

I used Allianz to insure my Amtrak ticket from St. Louis to Kansas City for the Super Bowl parade. Unfortunately, I got sick on the way to my train. I submitted my claim and it was approved. I rebooked the next morning and made to KC. I had the time of my life, plus, the check is in the mail for the ticket I couldn't use.

This is the second time I have had to make a claim with Allianz about a travel incident. The first time was hospital/doctor costs for a trip to southeast Asia. The most recent claim was for a cancelled trip to Sweden. In both instances Allianz handled my claims swiftly and without asking for additional information. Frankly I would never leave the United States with Allianz insurance. They are prompt, friendly, and responsive.

Claim first filed 12/06/19 (bc of medical reasons) - docs scanned & sent by e-mail separately; rec'd Confirm Claim Submission (#**) ON 12/06/19; need to wait 2 wks. January - no info - need to cb in 2 wks. Agent cannot find record of e-mailed docs - given mis-info by agent. More call backs. 1/05/20 - agent says claim DENIED - PAYMENT INFO INCORRECT - ?? - but I did not receive any info about this... 2nd claim opened - more mis-info; I e-mailed all necessary docs to Claim Dept. - e-mail notice rec'd 2/08/20, says wait 10 business days. It is now 2/24/20 - no notification rec'd - except this e-mail that "MY OPINION MATTERS!" SERIOUSLY? Called today to Claim Dept (recorded msg). Notes CLAIM APPROVED on 2/12/20 - $360 paid - however, I have no payment nor documentation. Perhaps CHECK IS IN THE MAIL! - but it hasn't arrived yet! Very poor communication & performance by Allianz.

My flight got canceled because of a winter storm. Airlines are never responsible for that. I submitted a claim for the extra costs of food, lodging, and transportation that I incurred due to the flight cancellation. All online. Quick and easy. I was skeptical about buying insurance for one trip, only because I have my own insurance. If you are reading this, buy the insurance. I had to cancel a trip due to injury. In my case this is a recurring injury so I had all the needed docs to support my injury from past doctor visits. But they do require some sort of proof for injury. Just be aware of that. But process to file claim was real easy.

We, unfortunately, had to cancel our trip due to medical issue - the process was easy and the refund came quickly. We received our refund from Allianz quicker than from our travel agency. I called to inquire about the process and the customer service agent was friendly and helpful. I was able to upload my documents (medical note from my doctor) and I was given options on how to receive my refund which I thought was great - rather than requiring it to be paid back to the card used. I prefer my bank because I can track it easier.

Allianz was so helpful when I was ill in Xela Guatemala and later in Antigua. They gave me names of clinics and hospitals and reimbursed me quickly. My mom had to communicate with them sometimes because it was easier and they were helpful to her too. Well worth the price and I will always purchase this insurance for international travel.

I purchased insurance for an Australia trip that unfortunately we are unable to make. The airline refunded me $1526 for upgrades but not for the initial ticket price of $1962. I filed a claim for the $1962 not realizing I should have put a claim in for the entire cost of $3488, that the refund for $1526 would be seen by Allianz and the balance of $1962 would then be given back to me. I receive an email stating that a refund was already given so they were only able to send me approx. $436 which then added up to the $1962 I was claiming. It still left me short $1526.
I called a representative and explained this to her. She was extremely helpful, told me to resubmit the claim with a note explaining my mistake. I did so but the claim for the $1526 was still denied. In the end I got in touch with the airline, explained the reason for cancelation, sent them requested documentation and they were able to refund me all of my money back. As for the check from Allianz (Jefferson Ins Company check number **) It was never cashed and will be mailed back to the address on the check. I paid a good amount of money for that vacation insurance policy and am disappointed that I was unable to get all my money back. I will think twice about using Allianz for any future travel insurance.

My wife got sick and couldn't make a flight. Filed a claim for redeeming my cancellation fee. Made several calls, all of which were very uninformative. Finally got someone to explain the system for filing online. Was promted to send four affidavits and wait 10 days for settlement. This could have been so much easier because they already have accees to the information they wanted. All they should have needed from me was a doctor's note.

Total scam. There was no pilot or crew, therefore, lost a night at a hotel I paid $300/ night. Insurance was $25, and I only received $75. $50 covered my cab from the airport to the hotel. I had to stay near the airport because the new flight didn’t leave till the next morning. The flight was suppose to leave on Thursday, but didn't leave till the next day and I had to buy another night at the hotel. What’s the point of insurance if it only reimbursed me $50???

The initial response to my claim was outstanding. My wife had an issue while traveling abroad and the Allianz team was very helpful in describing all policy coverage, suggesting alternatives, and following up on our situation several times. When we returned, they sent claim forms to begin that process. I was able to file online fairly easily and upload all medical and billing documents requested. As advertised, it took about ten days to process the claim with no additional information needed or requested.
My concern started when the reimbursement check arrived which covered only about 60% of the charges incurred with no explanation or accounting for what was not covered or why. I placed a follow up call to the company and was unable to reach the agent handling my account. However I was assured by the person to whom I spoke that such a reconciliation would arrive electronically or by mail in a few days. No such explanation has been forthcoming three weeks later. A less than satisfactory conclusion to a very responsive start.

I purchased ticket insurance for an event I was planning on taking my 4 and 2-year-old to. I purchased insurance because we live in upstate New York and I was concerned if the weather was poor I wouldn't be able or feel safe driving them. Well, I ended up having a work trip that I couldn't avoid that ended up being the same time as the show. I filed my claim in a timely manner. Provided my flight information and was told by an automated system I would hear back in 10 days. It's been over that time and I've heard NOTHING. The event is 2/28 and today is a week before. I just can't believe what a waste this was - I didn't even realize what I would have to provide in order to file a claim.
I just don't fully understand the logic of this insurance 'policy'. I wouldn't have purchased this insurance if I didn't think I would have a very valid reason why I wouldn't be able to go. And the simple fact that no one has contacted me is just ridiculous. I'm insurance myself and this is just completely unacceptable. I want to be refunded. I am and so are my children that I will not be able to take them but I want my money back for this.

During our cruise, my partner incurred an injury that required her to seek the ship doctor. Upon returning home I filed a claim for this expense in just a few minutes and downloaded a copy of the bill and filed the claim online. Very easy. So Ozzy cancelled his North American tour due to health reasons???? So I called Ticketmaster, refund, no issue. I call Allianz Insurance this scam of an insurance provider, I tell them Ozzy cancelled the tour, the policy should be voided and we should get a refund just like Ticketmaster, they tell me they give refunds but there are some exceptions, 1 the venue changes the date, 2 the artist changes plans, 3 the consumer changes plans. So I ask this Supervisor, "What other reasons could there be to get a refund?" Not one!!! We didn't use the service. We should get our money back. Typical insurance scammers. Ticketmaster will hear about this.

At first only partial compensation was given, but after speaking with customer service, and emailing an appeal with more facts and information, a full compensation for my trip interruption and travel fees were reimbursed. I provided a letter from my doctor verifying my injury and the recommendation. It was sad enough that I couldn't make the trip because I couldn't manage my luggage and was in a lot of pain, but if I also lost the cost of my ticket, it would have been worse.

Our flight from Hilton Head to Charlotte was delayed 7.5 hours. We were rebooked to leave from Savannah Airport, 50 minutes away. Allianz covered the cost of our shuttle to Savannah very promptly. After I called to see if we had a claim, we submitted all required claim documents online easily and received a check in the mail.

We had to cancel our trip because of illness. The agent was very helpful: she generated the paperwork, told us what we needed, and gave us a number to call with questions. After we mailed in our supporting information we had our refund within days.

Unexpected illness. The online questionnaire was clear about the expected amount of information needed to move forward with my claim. I submitted the needed information online. Best thing I ever did was to add insurance for my flight! Won't fly without it. Was snowed in and could not get to the airport. Thought I was covered through the airline with my first-class ticket but surprise surprise they called it a discounted ticket and didn't cover the change. So thankful I added the Allianz insurance. They handled my claim so fast it was all taken care of in just a couple weeks. Worth it!

My first claim and could not have been more impressed with the process from start to finish. I filed my claim online and the instructions were easy. I was very prepared which made the process easier but still impressed with how quickly my claim was processed and my check was approved and received.

My husband fell and was hospitalized so he could not go on a planned plane trip. It was just a few days before our departure date. I called the airlines who referred me to Allianz. I spoke with a representative who clearly explained what I needed to do to submit my claim. I received a check within two weeks.

I had airline tickets to fly to Sioux Falls Sd because my sister was very close to death. She died before my flight so because of that and complications at home, I cancelled the flight. I am also my wife’s caregiver as she is recovering from serious back surgery and leg and foot surgery. Allianz was quick to honor our contract and paid us off once we showed them my sister’s death certificate. Thank you.

Due to a medical issue trip needed to be canceled. We received our refunds in a timely manner. Our travel agent was able to handle the entire process. All credit card charges were credited appropriately and received a check for the balance that the cruise line would not refund. Holand America.

I took out rental car insurance on our recent trip to Hawaii. I do not have the Allianz Order Number. I was not sure my damaged Key Fob would be covered. Allianz approved my claim and prompt payment was made. Great Service!

We recently traveled to Mexico and suffered the misfortune of an illness that cost more than $1,300 in hospital, doctor, ambulance and medicine charges. When the manager of our hotel saw that we were insured by Allianz, he said that we had good travel insurance. And he was right. Always satisfied, thankfully I haven't had to file a claim on every trip, but when needed, all my issues were resolved with ease. Each claim was timely processed. Traveling with Allianz makes traveling less worrisome because I know Allianz will be there if something happens.

I had to reschedule my flight after my brother in law got into a car accident. Once I got home I got a hold of Allianz and had a wonderful experience. They told me the exact paperwork I needed and how to send it in. I got reimbursed for my flight being rescheduled and everything. Highly recommend them for travel insurance.

My claim was for the expense of travel to and from airport after flight was delayed 10 hours and I was unable to attend the funeral to which I was going. Allianz covered full cost with the receipt for my transportation.

Thought I was almost dead from the sickness in Vienna and I contacted Allianz twice to help find me a local hospital that is covered, no response although it said they would respond to me in a couple of days. Very irresponsible. I would never put my life in danger under such poor service. Stay away from this scam insurance.

My husband and I were looking forward to a trip to Hawaii when I fell and broke my shoulder. We had to cancel the trip. Luckily we had purchased travel insurance from Allianz Global Assistance. Once we submitted the claim, including the hospital information about the accident, the claim was promptly paid. I am very pleased with the prompt efficient service. We will definitely use Allianz Global Assistance in the future.

I was very sick at sea the last two days of my cruise which led me to the infirmary and ultimately quarantined to my cabin for 2 days. I was hit with a large medical bill. Thankfully I had purchased insurance and Allianz paid the bill! From the time I filed the claim form until the money was wired to my account was only 4 days. Yes, wired to my account! I did not have to wait to receive a check then go to the bank to cash it. You get the picture! What a pleasure to work with Allianz! It truly was made easy to file the form. Everything about my travel policy with Allianz has been very impressive. Selecting the policy was easy, purchasing it was simple, and filing a claim was straightforward. Allianz people are knowledgeable and professional. Great process and consummate professionals. I was familiar with the company due to its relationship with Delta but a stand-alone travel policy is a better option.

My trip was delayed into the next day on my flight to New York and again coming home and I was only paid $75 and told I never sent in my receipts. I called support and the rep wouldn’t let me talk and told me a trip delay is only if you have to spend money and then you're paid back for that. Every time I spoke he cut me off and was very rude and hung up on me in the middle of my explanation. I still have not received the $75 to this day.

We booked a cruise through AAA. We added the insurance and missed 2 ports. We were thrilled that we received a check for those important parts of our trip that we missed. The processing of our request was very quick. We will use your insurance whenever we travel.

Alamo Car Rental gave me a hard time when the damage was noted on return of my rental. They asked for a $300 deposit. I refused and paid half. Alamo said they would not work with any Ins. company from a third party such as Hotwire. Once I received the quote from Alamo I dolled the directions from the email Allianz had sent me before our trip. The form was straightforward. I had taken pictures of the damage at the time and had those available as well. I emailed the form and within less than a week I was notified Allianz accepted the claim. Around 10 days later a check arrived. I had the option of Alamo being paid direct or a check sent to me. As I had already paid half I had the check sent to me, paying the balance to Alamo Car Rental. I was pleased with the ease of filing a claim once I received the invoice from Alamo Rent a Car.

I purchased insurance but didn't get the $49 I paid for business upgrade. Plus, I was not aware I had to submit all the paperwork and proof of purchase. Also, paid by credit card. Didn't get that credited, I received a check in the mail. Is this 1970's?

I filed a claim based on Alaska airlines changing my flight dates and missing my hotel stay. No problem with the claim for the hotel. But one of my bag were completely destroyed and I still have not received any compensation for it.

I insured my trip (airline tickets) to Hawaii through Allianz. Trip was canceled due to health issues. After submitting the requested information, Allianz refunded the full airline ticket price quickly and with none of the hassles that I expected to encounter. They were great and I recommend them.

After claim had been established, it was impossible to download more evidence. It was impossible to send an email with the evidence. With all my attempts, all emails came back as undeliverable. The additional evidence was required for the second delay. I had no idea in advance that all my trouble will be consolidated in one case. The process was very confusing. But representatives were very friendly.

I broke wrist while on vacation, & notified Allianz right away, & several times over next week. Easy to pull up my case & they knew my status from previous call. They called the Sunday, we got home to set up claim. I received reimbursement within days of verifying bills.
