I purchased insurance for tickets at the Met in NYC. I filed a claim. New York is locked down, no gatherings are allowed, etc. This is not an epidemic, it's a PANDEMIC. I trusted AAA. Not any more. The theater is closed. I'm so disappointed in AAA. I was surprised to find out that Allianz is part of AAA. I won't trust AAA any more and I will make everyone I know aware. If this is how AAA works during a horrible event in this world then I don't trust them with anything. What a serious let down. I will post this everywhere I can find.

I called to understand the process. When I had all of my documentations secured, I went on the web site and submitted it. The web site was easy to navigate and straightforward. The web site also made it easy to check on my claim. I received the check within 2 weeks. I will buy the insurance next time I travel and recommend it to friends.

My experience was great. Although it took longer than expected to get my paperwork from the company; I received great customer service and my full refund. We had a sick family member and could not travel so I completed all documents and within 2 weeks I received my refund.

I had to cancel a trip home due to my mother's illness. I was able to contact someone at the office who gave me good information. Then the covid-19 hit and it was impossible to get anyone on the phone. I did get reimbursed for changing my flight home due to mother's medical issue. For that I thank you. The covid-19 has screwed a lot of things up.

No one wants to have to cancel a trip due to a loved one's illness. I am thankful that I had Allianz travel insurance to make my cancellation easier. Not only was I able to find information I needed to make a claim, but representatives were also available to help me with the process.

We initially sent our claim to Allianz Canada as per the documentation we received when we purchased the travel insurance. After about 2.5 weeks we followed up with an email to inquire on the status of our claim; it was at that time, we received notification that our claim needed to be sent to the U.S. We then forwarded all documentation to the U.S. and our claim was resolved within a short period of time, which we were happy about. We would have selected Very Happy except for the initial delay. Cheque was received today, thank you.

Trip cancel due to illness. No answer when calling which was March 12th, filled out online and notified airline myself, online was a little challenging. Was not accepting my number. I know it may have been to unusual high volume. Got a case number and have had one email yesterday I think saying they are reviewing.

I had to cancel my flight due to my husband's medical condition. I had absolutely no problem obtaining a timely refund from Allianz. I will always obtain flight insurance from Allianz whenever my husband and I travel on Alaska Airlines.

We are very pleased with the timing of the dispensing of the check mailed to us after filing our claim. This was done in a very short turn around time. What was very frustrating was the initial online process for filing the claim as the web site for doing so was somewhat confusing and required connecting with a rep to lead us through the process. The required documents that were scanned in by us took initially; however, when we retrieved the form the doctor's excuse was not with the copy of the trip itinerary. Eventually, after several tries, we were able to scan in the required doctor's excuse. After working with the rep, Orlando, who was extremely helpful, although it was a little difficult to understand him because of his Spanish accent, was a Godsend. Without his assistance we could have never managed the confusing web site.
We followed up this phone call with two additional phone calls to two different reps who could not validate that the copies of the required documents had arrived and were acceptable. The last rep that I talked with said that there would be a return phone call in regard to this; however, it was never received. The end result with the full payment of the air fare was received in a very timely manner. This is the only time that we have ever purchased travel insurance and the only time that we needed it. In the future we will definitely do this.

I had to change a flight due to a medical condition my daughter was experiencing. I filed a claim and, in no time, I got notice that I would receive the $200 change fee charge from Allianz. I was thrilled with the ease of filing and the prompt response. The check arrived shortly thereafter. It was worth the investment to buy the insurance!

Flight refund via website. I found the website easy to navigate and understand, and was able to submit my paperwork online (including MD note). The only slight difficulty was in figuring out how to compress the paperwork to fit into the appropriate file size for submission. I was pleased to learn my claim was processed so quickly. I submitted on 3/10/20, I received word it was approved within 5 days and received a check 3/21. Very fast! Especially during these trying coronavirus times. Thank you!

It was a lot faster than I expected to receive my check. The fact that I can do everything online, made it easier. I would recommend everyone use this service if traveling. I had to cancel a trip 2 days before we were scheduled to leave. I contacted Allianz and they were extremely helpful. Filing the claim online was time consuming, but easy to do. A claims representative called me to explain the documents still needed and email with her was flawless. I would highly recommend Allianz.

Flight cost returned when we had to cancel due to Covid-19. I included a note from my doctor stating that I was not advised to fly because of respiratory illness. I did not know when I would be able to fly again so did not want to just postpone the flight.

Had made non-refundable air reservations for a May vacation and had to cancel due to medical treatment for a recently discovered illness. Cancelled reservations for my and my spouse, got a note from the doctor explaining my treatment, went online, filled out the claim, attached the doctor's explanation and submitted to Allianz. Hello. My husband and I both became ill three days apart on our trip during Feb. of 2010. I filed the claim for my husband, and then I tried to file a claim for myself. I was not able to. My husband's claim was processed and paid. I tried to talk to someone in customer service, after waiting 45 minutes, who admonished me for not filing the claims together, and then our call was disconnected. I have contacted CS twice with no response. So, yes, I am dissatisfied. Enclosing my paperwork. Help me out here, please.

I filed a claim for $125 non-refundable ticket change fee when I cancelled a flight with Alaska Air. The receipt email from Allianz when I purchased insurance had a link for refunds which was fairly easy to follow and navigate thru the website. I received a check within two weeks even in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis. I was very happy with the service.

While booking a flight on Delta I was prompted with the option to purchase trip insurance. I decided to go ahead and purchase it because my husband's job is unpredictable and we might have to cancel. Turns out the wedding we were traveling to got postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. And this insurance was more than happy not to reimburse me the price of our tickets. If the insurance covers nothing but illness, injury and death - CALL IT ILLNESS, INJURY & DEATH COVERAGE! Don't advertise as something that's actually useful when the requirements to get your money back are insane. Will NEVER buy this again. And screw you guys for taking my money.

When I filed my claim, I was not able to add a second event during the same trip. I tried to contact you by phone, but was unable to get through (understandably in view of the pandemic). So I added a second set of data and a note to the claim, but they appear to have not been read. My total claim was for $80.38 + $71.08 = $151.46. I received a check for the $80.38, but not for the $71.08.

I emailed the required paperwork about my medical claim, including my doctor's statement that I should not make the trip, and asked for direct deposit. I received an acknowledgement of the claim within 24 hours and the payment was received in my checking account in 3-4 days. I can only say I was really surprised at that excellent service! Our wedding was scheduled 03.20.2020 and our honeymoon was to follow. Because of COVID-19, we ultimately had to make the heart breaking call to cancel it all. Baggage claim. We had a piece of luggage that was damaged by the airline. The wheel fell off and was unusable. The airline would not cover because we didn't place the claim within 24 hours (who knew to even do that). I created a claim through this insurance on my return, uploaded my receipt for new luggage. Very Happy with Allianz Global as my husband purchased insurance on my airline travel round trip to see my grandkids. About 1 month after purchasing trip I had a unexpected medical condition that need to be handled in a timely manner. So immediately notified company and walked me through steps to take online in filling out claim and then attaching the proper information/documents they need from me and physician to complete my refund. I recently had to submit a claim for my parents, Ura and Clarence ** Sr. Once I submitted the claim, thinking I had to do each ticket separately, I realized I was suppose to do them at one time. I immediately emailed stating what happened and have never heard back from anyone. This all happened on March 8th, weeks before the National and New York State emergencies. I submitted another email a week later around 3/16, heard nothing and now just last night I submitted another email. My parents had to cancel their flight because my mother was going for a procedure the day before the flight. The medical condition came up after the tickets were booked. Documentation has been submitted and they did just receive the reimbursement for the original claim. I am unable to submit another claim or amend the original. Thank you.

My train was cancelled, causing me to miss my return flight home from a remote location in Montana. I booked a cheap flight home from the nearest airport and started filling out my claim form sitting on the plane. Within three days the claim was accepted and paid, reimbursing me for the emergency flight home.

When calling Allianz to get information about a claim, I was put on lengthly holds, then disconnected many times. Plus Allianz signed me up for AARP membership, according to AARP when I complained, and several other companies including Home Helper Project, using my credit card WITHOUT PERMISSION!

The entire experience of dealing with Allianz was quite easy and pleasant. We had to cancel our cruise and flight because of my cancer and weakened immune system. I was very impressed that the refund check arrived so quickly, came yesterday. Because of the Coronavirus I was expecting it to take much longer. We thank you so much for your prompt attention.

We have used this company several times. We have never filed a claim. They say they are a satisfaction guarantee but that’s not the case. We are in limbo as are thousands of others over COVID-19. Our trip is to leave for Europe in a couple of weeks but with the no entry the closed doors they have a clause they don’t cover for epidemics. We would go even with the epidemics but the entry to many of the places are closed. Tours are closed. Etc. Allianz we are not satisfied we are losing thousands. You should at least refund the cost of our policy.

I hated the thought of cancelling but thank God the insurance was there for me.. The thought of cancelling a trip to Hawaii was awful but you never know what situation comes in the future. But at least I had insurance.

I am satisfied that all 3 claims were paid; however, my two traveling colleagues were paid without hassle and I was asked to provide additional information when I am the one who is ill. The second concern is that I was sent another policyholder's information during one of the follow ups to me. I know these are crazy times with COVID-19, my issue occurred just before that. There must be inconsistencies with claims managers and the receipt of someone else's info could have been a HIPPA violation. Consistency and accuracy focus may be needed. I do appreciate that my claim was paid and resolved as I expected it would be based on my illness and my understanding of the policy. Thank you.

When calling, had difficulty getting a representative to ask questions about filing a claim. Got disconnected once. It would have been helpful if on the website under claims there was a form to print or email to a doctor for the medical documentation required. If there is no form, it would be helpful to list on the website what essential items needed to be included by a doctor when writing a letter for canceling travel due to medical reasons. After the claim was filed, the website feature of checking on the status of a claim did not work. The final result of getting a check for reimbursement of travel expense did only take 13 business days which was good. Just had no idea of the status of the claim until the check arrived.

Flight Chicago to London HR 11,21.20. In the very difficult circumstances I was experiencing- fractured pelvis and pulmonary embolism I was unable to make a claim for some time. In spite of this you made a refund so that I am able to reimburse my grandson who had paid for my flight. Sad not to be on that trip but will certainly go to Allianz for future insurance as will all my friends. The courtesy I received was so very welcome.

Air Travel Insurance. My friend and I were to travel to Morocco, unfortunately, 7 days prior to our departure date my friend became ill with acute bronchitis and sinus infections, therefore, we were forced to cancel our trip. After battling with the supplier of a private yacht charter all last week-I went into AgentMax to try to modify the dates of my client's trip the day before they were due to leave. This was on Saturday-March 21st. Previous to March 21st-I spent 2 or 3 days attempting to call in but kept getting disconnected after being on hold for 30(ish) minutes. The Agent Max online system did not allow me to modify but told me to call the Agent phone number. When I called-it said they were closed. I tried to call the regular customer service line but was directed to a voice mail system. I left a message. There was no email address provided as to where I should contact. I went ahead and sent an email to the general customer service email provided at the bottom of the Agent Max website.
On Monday morning-March 23rd-I called and was told I could not modify the policy because it was past the start date. I was then told that sales support could probably do this. They gave me an email address. I sent an email explaining everything I had gone through. As of this morning-March 24th-I have not even received an automated message stating this request to change has even been received. AT MINIMUM....Allianz should provide the correct email address to address concerns and issues when the "office is closed" and not require yet another attempt to call in.
While I understand we are all in unprecedented times-it is all the more reason to provide some kind of automated messaging. I still DON'T KNOW if my client request to modify the dates has been "accepted." I am APPALLED and will make certain that as many travel agents know as possible. As I mentioned on the phone-as a collective industry-we all run the risk of going out of business. Unfortunately-I will not be as fortunate for a government bail out as Allianz. The least Allianz could do is provide some kind of assistance.

My experience with this claim process was very straightforward. Your method of uploading the information was easy after scanning the needed documents. The one thing I didn't understand is you asked for a preference of how payment was to be made and this was never used. Just wanted you to know. The other thing I was impressed with was the response time. If you said you would respond in 10 days it happened. Thanks!

Airline cancellation. We had to cancel a Family spring break Disney cruise vacation due to my granddaughter having to emergency surgery. I went online and completed the cancellation insurance request and mailed the documentation. I received emails letting me know that my information had been received. I would never have paid for a non-refundable seat, but Delta is sneaky and won't tell you it's non-refundable when you book the flight. Not a cheap bargain-basement seat, either... Comfort+, booked months in advance. When COVID19 came to pass, I thought it prudent to not travel. Delta was completely uncooperative regarding refunding my ticket, but fortunately Allianz was able to process my claim. Many thanks.

I filed a claim for $300 for the loyalty program redeposit fee after our trip was cancelled, and initially my claim was denied. I appealed the decision and we were reimbursed. Had I been reimbursed when I first filed the claim I would have given 4 stars.

OneTrip Premier. I had to cancel my trip to Iceland, Sweden and Copenhagen because of a new medical problem that led to an ER visit and subsequent testing. My physicians strongly recommended that I cancel my trip. The Allianz website was easy to navigate, and I received a prompt refund of my travel expenses. I had no problems whatsoever with the site, and as a result, interaction with personnel was minimal. My expectations were exceeded. I fell on a cruise excursion and cut my leg. The guide did a great job cleaning and dressing the wound, but by the next day it was infected. I was treated on the ship – 5 days of twice-daily intravenous antibiotic and painkillers. The treatment was superb, successful, but costly. I claimed online on my Allianz insurance, received an immediate acknowledgment and was reimbursed in full very quickly. Perfect service! I didn't even have to make a phone call!

I had a long conversation with someone at Allianz and they informed me specifically what I would have to submit to get full reimbursement for an international trip purchased through Professional Travel Assoc that had to be cancelled because of the coronavirus infection. This was done promptly and the only reason for not making this five stars was the fact that I had to initiate the call and ask all the right questions -- my travel agents was of no help in this regard.

I had purchased tickets to South Korea along with insurance. Delta gave full refund to any tickets which I called and took care of myself. Your company refused to refund my money saying you filed a claim for $52. You stole $50 from me as I had already taken care of the refunds.

I spent nearly 2 hours on hold before being able to talk to a rep. When I finally received payment on my claim you shorted me by $106. I also received nearly a dozen requests for additional information for documents that I had already submitted. Customer service was the most disappointing I have ever experienced. Really?!?!

We suffered a loss and claim in Costa Rica. We paid for services with our American Express card in US dollars, and submitted invoices and proof of payment to Allianz. Allianz claimed we used an "incorrect" conversion formula and reduced the amount of our claim. There was NO conversion formula to use on US dollars to US dollars. To date, we have not received ANY reply to our appeal after the deduction was made. This is not only unacceptable, but it is fraudulent on behalf of Allianz and MUST be corrected immediately.

When the state in which you reside, California, issues a "stay at home" order, Allianz should support its insured. Insuring my $550+ airline ticket with Allianz was a waste of additional money. Shame on Allianz to deny coverage during the COVID-19 pandemic! In the past I've used several insurers, only having to submit a claim once in the 36 years I've been traveling and it was paid. I will never use, and advise others to check out other insurers on **.

Absolutely Horrible. My vacation was cancelled due to a coworker who contracted coronavirus during Mardi Gras. He was unable to cover my position at work so I had to cancel. The company spent 14 days trying to decide to reject my claim as 'work requirements' is not covered. This is a multi-layered issue. It's not simply that I have to work. The person who was covering my duties contracted coronavirus and we have been exposed. Our entire office is on self quarantine and if trip insurance doesn't help you when something like as unforeseeable as this occurs when does it actually help you? During the hardest of times the nature of this company is on full display.

This is the first time I have purchased travel insurance, and I'm fortunate I did. The process was a little stressful because it takes 2 weeks to determine if you are going to be covered, but I was. I feel confident that Allianz will be a good option in my future travels.

Our plane was delayed and because we missed our connection, we needed to stay in a hotel overnight, which the airline would not cover. A simple letter with documentation resulted in Insurance paid quickly and without issue. Prompt and Great service!

I had the worst experience with Allianz Global Assistance Travel Medical Insurance. I have been purchasing insurance with them for several years for at least three or four travels per year and one time when I really needed medical assistance they denied my claim. The decision they initially made never got into my mail and I almost missed the appeal. I was able to send the appeal in the end and they sent a denial letter that I received opened in the mail (it never happened before so I really don't think the deliverer was at fault). The reasons they stated in the denial had nothing to do with the what actually happened and what I described in the original claim and appeal. Don't purchase insurance with them - it's a waste of time and money and worst customer service if you really need medical assistance while on your trip and submit a claim.

This is full of **! 100% refund guaranteed is not so true! You take advantage of insurance premium coverage and don't refund you a Dime! I would never use you as a insurance ever again! Take advantage of and say will get a credit but have use it less than 8 months and not a year what a lame story! Sorry will never use you as a insurance again! And I called. They told me sorry only will refund me if I get the coronavirus 19 then refund me the money WTF!

At 1:03 p.m. (CST) on 3/17/2020, I spent 54 minutes on hold to get some information on a policy and possibly purchase coverage. The irresponsible customer service representative answered with "Hello my name is Jennifer, welcome to Allianz Global Assistance, who do I have the pleasure in speaking with?" I proceeded to give my name and was interrupted with the same repeating question, and then interrupted again before being hung up on. She was pretending to be an AI voice as a joke, but failed due to not being able to contain her giggle after I gave her my name. Also I could clearly hear her coworkers in back talking and laughing. She failed at doing her job and wanted to play a practical joke at my expense and time. I don't think your customer service representatives should be playing games during times like this. Try and do a better job managing your employees.

Purchased Allianz Travel Insurance back in July 2019 for our Boston-Madrid trip (Mar 13-Mar 20, 2020) not expecting that the world would be in a global pandemic due to the coronavirus. We decided to try to cancel the trip the Monday before we were supposed to go, due to Spain instituting a lockdown and anticipating that America would soon follow. We called Allianz, and was told basically that Coronavirus was not a reason to cancel the trip, but we could try to file the claim and expect an email in reply with the follow up instructions. We tried to file three claims to get the process going, and did not receive ANY emails with the follow up instructions. America soon instituted a travel ban that would have made it impossible for us to return home. Apparently none of this is good enough reason for Allianz to issue refunds, despite the fact that this is through no fault of our own.

Booked a flight to go skiing in Utah, I bought the travel insurance because coronavirus was just beginning to spread to the US. Six days before my flight, All Ski Resorts closed due to the coronavirus spreading so quickly. I spent hours calling Delta, they say I need to talk with Allianz, after hours more to get through they say this is an exception and it will not be covered. NEVER BUY THIS WORTHLESS INSURANCE. You think this insurance is to allow you peace of mind. You would think a World-wide Pandemic would be covered, but apparently it is just an excuse to take people who had the foresight to buy the insurance for a ride. NEVER BUY THIS INSURANCE.

I was to fly from LAX to SJC for the day for a video job I was shooting. The client cancelled 3 days before the shoot. Delta charged me $117 for the cancellation. Allianz said my claim for that wouldn't be paid as it was due to an 'epidemic' and that wasn't covered. (It was due to my clients cancelling, not the 'pandemic' that Allianz can't even get right.)

Our trip was cancelled because the trip leader developed cancer and has gone into treatment. We were disappointed that the trip had to be cancelled, but we hope the trip leader will have a full recovery. We were happy to have purchased the flight insurance. We would recommend that all travelers get flight insurance.

I called to ask questions and the customer service representative was very knowledgeable. Also applied for reimbursement for trip cancellation and it was very easy online. I received the money within 2 weeks! I will definitely stick to Allianz in my future trip insurance needs. I will highly recommend it to family and friends.

Refund on policy due to cancellation of flight. Had to cancel flight due to coronavirus and my health issues with COPD.. My doctor had suggested that I do not travel to the Philippines during this crisis with coronavirus, because of my age and COPD, which is very chronic.
