You have not honored your obligations. We booked a trip through VBRO to Florida, and you failed to pay the claim for specious reasons when we were not able to go. We have written, called, written, called many times. We are now seeking legal action.

When I purchased the travel insurance it happen to be right before the Covid-19 outbreak and therefore I can't give a true statement of the company because I was unable to speak to anyone due to many businesses being closed. I was unable to reach anyone to talk about my claim, however I did receive a payment without any questions asked. I sent in a copy of my receipts and that was it.

My husband had a small medical issue in Australia -- As soon as we returned looked on line --completed the form -- sent in the receipts not only with the claim - but then was told to send it via email. I waited... waited... waited.. Finally we were paid for medical - -but not for our trip interruption expenses -- so I called again -- was told by the representative that it was overlooked by the adjuster-- and they would put it in again -- I waited... waited... waited -- another 2 or so weeks.. Nothing --- so I called again -- got a nice lady who said I needed to AGAIN send the receipts but this time with the claim number on the receipts... So I have done this -- and I will continue to wait!!! Thanks for listening!

I had an unexpected serious health issue develop. Allianz insurance stepped up to the plate and promptly reimbursed me for my airline coverage. It is a relief to work with an honest and responsible insurance company. You can be sure I will use Allianz on future trips.

Allianz processed my claim in a very timely manner. Once I filed my claim they informed me of required supporting documentation and emailed downloadable forms within a few days. After I submitted the required documentation they processed the claim and issued my refund check within 5 days.

My experience with this company was good. They accepted my claim and mailed me a check in a timely matter. I sent them my supporting information. So purchasing their insurance was a positive thing for me. I always purchase Allianz travel insurance and fortunately, I have not had to file a claim with them until now. We were very pleased with how our claim was handled. It was worth it in the end to submit our necessary paperwork and needed documentation. For a while we thought our claim was not going to be processed, but it was!!

After having to cancel my flight due to military obligations I submitted my claim with the required documents to Allianz. I received an email the same day confirming my claim was received. Even with this new outbreak I received a refund for my canceled tickets in about six business days.

Satisfactory service. Allianz cover car damage and also refunded last minute ticket cancellation on time. Now I make sure take Allianz coverage for bag insurance/tickets cancellation and of course rental car. I would be glad if I can get Tesla car insurance at reasonable price.

My claim for three people in the household (annual policy) for air travel cancellation for medical reasons was denied. Another person traveling with us cancelled as well, submitted the same documentation and the claim was paid very quickly. Seems arbitrary, Working on an appeal.

I was thrilled to receive $ for my damaged suitcase. Alaska Airlines did not cover any of the damage. Allianz coverage was just perfect after I made the application and submitted the documents required. They texted that they received the paperwork and then send out a check. I was so very pleased.

I buy travel insurance often. I have never made a claim so didn't know what to expect when I had all my non refundable flights canceled and forced to buy a new one and come back to the US. Made a claim and got paid. I'm amazed and a loyal customer for life. I'm grateful it wasn't a medical evacuation or worse case situation but it was a claim and that's something.

I bought my policy way before Covid 19 was even discovered. I called twice before my trip to make sure that my trip was covered due to covid 19 issue and was assured that yes indeed it was covered because my policy was purchased long before covid 19. My trip was interrupted due to mandatory testing of 2 crew members and the CDC issued a no sail order from March 8th to March 11th ending our cruise early. My claim has been denied and I have sent several emails and have had NO responses. When I call no one answers. I will not use Allianz again if this is how they treat clients when they have a claim. I buy insurance so that my trip is insured. It is not my fault that my trip was cut short. Please review my claim since I cannot get anyone else to.

Each time I travel, I have covered the trip through an extra travel insurance. I think all travelers would be wise to use Allianz. We called to inform Allianz about our damaged luggage. The representative was very helpful guiding us through steps to take for repair and submitting claim. We were reimbursed by check in a short time after claim was submitted. We are very pleased and would recommend Allianz to others.

The people that I spoke with were courteous and understanding and answered all of my questions and helped me to complete the paperwork for the claim. Allianz travel insurance purchased at the time of purchase of non-refundable tickets for my wife and I. Our illness (both) about 5 days before departure, and our doctor's advice, required cancellation of travel with non-refundable tickets. Allianz provided provided refund, a little slow, but understandable, due to COVID-19 impacts. Delayed refund did not pose any hardships as we're hunkered down and not going anywhere.

Unable to travel due to recent medical complications, I had to cancel a cruise, leaving from Florida. My plane trip to the cruise ship also had to be canceled. There was no need to fly to Florida if I was no longer able to attend the cruise. Thank you for making a stressful situation bearable.

Needed to cancel our plane trip as the Multiple Sclerosis Society cancelled our cruise to Alaska. My daughter and I were very disappointed as we were looking forward to this trip. I am grateful that our air fare was refunded as I am on social security and my daughter on disability. Thank you so much for considering her health status and refunding our money.

We bought our policy last summer. Paid for 108 days. We did not get to finish our cruise. We were told we had to return to the USA. There was no sickness on our ship. We only wanted reimbursement for the taxi ride to our home city and reimbursement for the visas that we could not use. We paid for 108 days and still had 33 days left. There was no reimbursement for the unused days. We paid over $5000 for this policy. I find this unacceptable.

After years of purchasing my travel insurance with this company, this is the first time I had to cancel a trip and file a claim due to an auto accident, my daughter was hurt, it had nothing to do with COVID-19. The company has been giving me the runaround, very un-professional and nonethical, no responses to emails, I have called and talked to supervisors who promise they will do something about it and nothing happens. First they asked for 7-10 business days, then I called, they said 15 business days, then they said 5 more days, it has been over one month now and they refuse to let me speak to a manager, again, no response to email at all. Very frustrating! Never again I will purchase insurance from Allianz and I don't think anybody should there are many other companies out there that would like our business and they will be more professional and not just take our money. TERRIBLE!

I know that there is a high demand because of COVID-19, but I submitted to claims; one through Allianz and one through American Airlines. I’ve already received the refund through AA 2 weeks ago with continual communications. I have yet to receive any refund from Allianz, and only one communication. And that communication happened after I had to call in to get a status. Very poor service!!! My case is cut and dry. My wife needed cancer surgery. I should not be kept waiting like this for a refund.

I had to cancel a work related trip and Allianz promptly refunded me for the cost of my tickets. Would highly recommend them in the future. The refund was processed promptly and showed up in my bank account without having to do anything more than submit my claim.

I have submitted and submitted and submitted the paper work. NOTHING HAPPENS EXCEPT, YOU REQUEST ANOTHER SET OF THE SAME PAPERWORK. I canceled this trip on March 9, 2020 due to my RA condition. I cannot believe how bad your service is. I bought this policy because it covers preconditions. It is now April 24th and I had to try and send another set of paperwork yesteday. Did you get it??

We had a medical emergency in which my husband was stricken Ed with blood clots and doctor could not recommend his travel on an airplane for at least one year. Cancellation of cruise. Carolyn developed a serious increase in symptom of lung condition and the doctor told her no travel for at least 6 months. Allianz handled the claim for travel insurance benefits with courtesy, prompt responsiveness while under sudden increase in their own paperwork caused by the virus problem which caused lots of other cancellations.

I booked a ticket for my girlfriend. We are both in the military and she had to cancel my travel due to orders even before Coronavirus took off and despite having my claim accepted and being told a check had been sent, it's been 20 days and I've yet to receive the check nor any response from customer service asking if it could be deposited into my account as I've done in the past.

I purchased this insurance for concert tickets I planned to attend while on a work trip. My work trip was cancelled and the concert postponed all due to Covid-19. I would keep the tickets, but my work travel to this particular location is limited. I submitted images from work communication showing our travel was cancelled, I submitted my cancelled itinerary (hotel and airline ticket), proof of concert ticket purchase, proof the concert didn't happen, and that I still had my ticket. A month after submitting the claim I was asked for proof of purchase and letter on work letterhead.
I provided an exported email instead, and the proof of purchase for the 2nd time. I called and was told I'd need to get a notarized letter which would result in risking my health (I'm not going out in COVID-19 and breaking stay at home orders), and extra funds. I spoke to a manager who said I would get the funds and an email confirming in 24 to 48 hours. Instead I received an email stating my coverage does not include an epidemic. I hope their policy changes in the near future since I've heard this isn't the last time we'll see Covid-19. This whole situation was extremely disappointing, and very bad business practice.

I purchased a travel insurance on December 15 for trip in South of Africa. This insurance I purchased was offered to me when I bought my airline ticket online. One would think this would be to cover your travel from any cancellation, regardless of the cancellation. Delta airline cancel the flight, flight within South of Africa get also cancel and booked activity get cancelled. Then what do you do; you're thinking "Oh god I am so happy I bought the insurance" for $120.77 for the travel date between March 27, 2020 and April 13, 2020.
Then you file your claim and you receive an email saying that "Your plan excluded coverage for losses due to an epidemic". So when I purchased the insurance on December 15, there was no epidemic. Theirs website clearly states that "Covid 19 became a know event on January 22nd, 2020". So, before that date, it was they will not reimbursed you, and after that date it is a known event, they won' t reimburse you either....even now you purchased the insurance over a month prior. What a great business model...

We spent nearly 800 dollars for three Opera tickets for my mother's 80th birthday. We spent over 100 dollars to Allianz Global for insurance for this event, not knowing if her health would change. As it turns out, COVID-19 became a pandemic, and the theater closed, and the performance was cancelled. We submitted the claim and after 2 weeks were notified that even though the performance was cancelled, that they were not obligated to honor the agreement since the insurance did not "Cover an epidemic"? They kept the payment of over 100 for insurance on a performance that is canceled. And they refused to pay the claim. Crooks and liars taking people's money when so many of us have lost income with this disaster. As if I can sue....anyone up for a class action lawsuit?

Bought concert tickets through Ticketmaster along with a insurance policy from Allianz. The concert was cancelled due to Covid19. Ticketmaster refunded money without any request. Allianz on the other hand felt they were entitled to keep the insurance policy money, even though there was no event to insure. When I asked for a refund they kept saying they couldn’t find my policy, even though I presented all relevant information. Complete frauds, apparently they can just steal money right from you, without any return of service. Despicable.

I purchased travel insurance to Iceland in October '20. In February it became obvious we were in a pandemic. I refused to take the trip to Iceland on March 10, 2020. By that time a pandemic had been declared and the US wanted all nationals back by Friday Evening, March 13, 2020. Guess what! I was not covered, nor did I receive any insurance back. I used my common sense to refuse to leave during a pandemic! And, incidentally, when I took out the coverage a covered reason is "Unable to receive Immunization." Is there any immunization for COVID 19? Of course not! This company should not be selling insurance.

Allianz approved my claim ** and mailed a check on 3/17/2020. I have not received the check as of 4/15/2020. I’m very unhappy with Allianz as I followed the claim procedure exactly as required. Allianz should have followed through in a timely manner. It is extremely difficult to talk to anyone at Allianz. Please contact me ASAP to resolve this issue.

I have never in my life been treated so bad by a company customer service department. I usually do not leave reviews but with what is going on with Covid-19 I had to. My husband has been deployed for 9 months and I bought tickets for him for a game when he came home and I included this insurance, his boat cannot pull in now till June possibly July if this virus does not get better. I contacted Allianz sat on hold for almost 2 hours. Explained this situation to the customer service rep when I was told on March 15. She advised to send a copy of my tickets and proof of payment. She advised they usually process claims within 5-7 business days but with Covid-19 to expect a week delay. I have not heard anything back from this company.
I called today and held for almost an hour to check the status of the claim and they advised I my claim was denied and will not be approved until I get a detailed document from my husband’s commander stating he was not home the date of the game. With Covid-19 I have lost my job and now possibly will go without seeing husband for a year, I explained this to the rep Alexa ID #** and she stated there is nothing she can do and hung up on me. I write this review to express with what is going on you really need to work on how you speak to people.

My husband had a re-occurrence of Lymphoma after I had scheduled my vacation. I called to speak to a representative because I had some questions about what to include in the claim. She was very helpful and understanding. She initiated my claim for me. I then went into the website and attached the appropriate documents once I had gathered them. The claim was approved quickly. I opted for a check, which I knew would take longer, but it arrived sooner than expected. This is a tough time for me and my husband. I was not sure what problems I may have when we were experiencing these issues at the same time a global pandemic was ramping up. I thought for sure there would be lengthy delays. But, the process went very well and I am happy that I made the decision to purchase this policy!

Due to our return flight having been cancelled, we had to book an overnight hotel. After our return to Buffalo, I filed a claim using the very user friendly tools on the Allianz website. In just a bit over two weeks, the check arrived in the mail. Everything about the process was as good as one could hope. (I have had experiences with other companies that were dismal at best.) My fiancé became very sick and we had to cancel a 3/07/20 trip to Washington, DC. Allianz promptly reimbursed us for air fare, which otherwise would have been lost. Their procedure was simple, accurate, fair, and much appreciated! I would highly recommend Allianz to all travelers, especially since airlines will generally not reimburse air fares.

AAA Travel agent took care of it all when we had to cancel due to Covid concerns. Response was efficient and we got our check from you in a timely manner. We recently took a Norwegian cruise of the western Caribbean from February 15-22, 2020. One of the ports for the cruise was Costa Maya. Due to a transportation strike, the cruise line deemed it unsafe for us to disembark. We then continued on to Cozumel. When we returned home, our travel agent reached out to see how we enjoyed the cruise. During the course of our conversation, we discussed the the port that we missed. She informed me that I should file a claim with Allianz. I reached out to Norwegian asking for documentation confirming the missing port which I then emailed to our travel agent. Yes, I purchased a flight to dfw from Atlanta for Christopher Missling w trip insurance however it’s extremely difficult to get a refund/reimbursement/successful claim submission to Allianz. I was reimbursed my cab fair. Which was quite substantial. Worth every penny for the Travel Interruption Insurance. I had travel delay in NY due to a connecting flight. I was not able to get my rental car by 12:30 a.m. It was -5 degrees when I got to Maine. My family was an hour away. My son's wife was in hospital from birthing daughter and had a C-section. My son was at home with their twin daughters who are two. I could not see bringing those girls out to rescue Grandma. I had no idea the insurance would come in handy, but it did. We traveled to Puerto Vallarta. We were planning on staying for 4 weeks, but two days after we arrived I became sick. Because of the Corona Pandemic I didn't want to be quarantined in Mexico so we booked to fly home after 4 days of being their. We had rebooking airline fees and lost some money by canceling our reservations at last minute. We were reimbursed by Allianz $25. Travel insurance is basically a rip off. I'm not sure if I would have died in Mexico they would have reimbursed anything.

I have not received anything on claims I made on 2 policies after experiencing mobility problems on a cruise in February. Neither of these claims were related to the coronavirus and should have been handled immediately upon receipt. Right now I have 2 policies that I am making claims for. We had a trip planned for April 1, 2020 but my wife hurt her back and needed Physical Therapy and possible surgery; therefore, we cancelled our trip and Allianz followed through on reimbursing us the monies we lost. The process was relatively easy because we had all the necessary documents from the doctor.

The process to submit documentation for receiving my insurance payment was very seamless and easy. Allianz very promptly paid my claim for airfare for a trip that I had to cancel due to my risk from the coronavirus. I am immunocompromised & was advised not to travel by my doctor. They accepted my doctor’s letter & did not try to make it difficult by requiring onerous documentation.

I rarely got travel insurance in the past, I’m so thankful I did for my recent trip which was the first ever I had to cancel due to illness and the covid19 virus. I have purchased this product several times in the past for domestic and foreign travel. March our trip to Mexico was delayed due to a mechanical problem with the plane which caused us to miss our connecting flight to Mexico. The airline made accommodations during our delay but there was no way to recover the costs of lodging and car rental in Mexico. I submitted a claim via the website and provided the supporting documentation of our reissued boarding passes showing the delay. The claim was reviewed and processed well ahead of my expectations. I will be purchasing this service again in the future. It was money well spent.

We were delayed on our initial flight from Bellingham to Seattle due to a mechanical issue. Alaska Air ended up shuttling us from Seattle to Portland and flying us out to Kona the next morning. Due to the time we had to arrange our own taxi from Portland International to the hotel, and no restaurants were available at that time. The next morning we purchased breakfast at the airport before our flights. This also meant our first night rental cost for the Kona townhouse we were booked into was forfeited.
Based on our discussions with the Allianz rep I talked to we were under the impression we didn't need to submit receipts and could claim the max $150/person for this delay. This would have covered our costs for this delay. We've received $75/person for the claim which results in our still being out of pocket approx. $225. We've emailed on this twice now and received no reply, so it appears we'll be eating the difference.

We got sick during our trip to Ecuador. The Allianz operators were fantastic about finding us a doctor right away and checking back in with us to make sure we were doing better. We had to miss several days of our trip and rebook lodging. We submitted all of the required paperwork, got a receipt that it was all there and then waited. When we did finally hear back they sent reimbursement for the doctor's visit and medication but nothing for the trip interruption. When we inquire about this we got a response several days later that they didn't have any of our documentation. I have redirected them to the documentation and am still waiting for a response! The trip ended March 8th. It is now April 3rd. The documents were submitted around February 16th!

I wanted to cancel my trip in the Philippines due to the outbreak of Covid but your insurance co. did not want to cover my change fees under I actually get sick before the trip. Wife became very ill and we could not travel. Allianz paid. My wife was bedridden with a serious virus and was bedridden with fever and malaise for about a month before our trip. We asked for reimbursement and it was granted with the filing of her medical records which clearly indicated the problem.

This company is a complete scam. Wife and I planned a trip to Florida for 10 year anniversary for the end of April. Scheduled it on Feb. 20. Covid was not a pandemic in the United States yet! Thought I was doing the right thing in getting insurance because I have three young kids and you never know what could happen. Well.... Hotel room got canceled in Florida and I call Allianz about refund because of the quarantine (it does say quarantine in bylaws) with Covid. I hear some BS claim that because the WHO called Covid a pandemic on Feb 3rd, Allianz was not liable to refund!!!! America wasn't shut down until Mid March!!!! Don't worry, I am sure this small working class American didn't read everything. I am the dumb middle class guy. Thanks for working me over Allianz!!!! I'm sure you will get bailout money and make money out of this. Thanks for working tirelessly (as your website message says), more like found a loophole to screw over people!!

First of our travel plans were cancelled to see our son graduate from basic training due to the epidemic that’s going on and my claims were denied although this site stated there would make an exception in this instance. I had to call 4 times before I could get the proper information to file a claim. My appeal was denied by the claims escalation examiner John **. They showed no care. Customers purchase insurance to be protected and taken care of not to feel like you left out in the cold and that’s what we felt like happened. We were very disappointed by the actions of this company.

I purchased my ticket with Delta prior to the Covid-19 Pandemic, back in December 2019. I also purchased my travel insurance with Allianz at that time. When the Pandemic hit late January and February, I cancelled my trip. I filed a claim with Allianz due to the Pandemic and the travel restrictions imposed by my state. The customer service representative said Covid-19 restrictions are not covered under the insurance and that I should have read the fine print prior to purchase. I am so angry and frustrated. I did not want to endanger my health or the health of the elderly family members I come in contact with and they would not honor my flight cancellation.

Japanese Cruise Trip March 26-April 13. My wife and I have taken out Allianz insurance for every overseas trip for years. We never made a claim but trusted that if the time ever came to make one we would be covered. At the end of January 2020 my wife was diagnosed with bladder cancer. The trip was cancelled for surgery and treatment. MD Anderson, world renown cancer center, wrote a letter in her behalf to state that she could not travel. No mention of a 'pandemic' was ever stated. The claim was refused due to the pandemic. After much anxiety, stress and frustration we submitted an additional letter from our urologist. When appealed the claim was finally approved. Even the amount of the check was incorrect. What a hardship this was for us during a difficult time. We were very disappointed with Allianz.

Had a medical emergency the night before our scheduled flight, had to spend night in hospital. The insurance company never questioned our documentation and paid us without any difficulty. Items covered need to be very specifically spelled out. Since Coronavirus was not spelled out our trip was not covered by our insurance. They were very sorry we could not travel but oh well. Thanks a lot. What a waste of money. I definitely would not recommend unless you can specifically list every possible item that can occur. If it is not listed you're not covered. Very much black and white. I have worked with much better organizations during this pandemic that are understanding and going the extra mile for customers. This is not one of those types of organizations. They got your money. That is all they care about.

My husband had to have his ear cleaned out by a physician when we were in Aruba. When we got home he called to make the claim and get reimbursed by Allianz. On the phone, the person said it probably would not go through. However, about 2 weeks later a check for the amount of the doctor's bill arrived. We were very pleased that Allianz covered this and appreciate their working with us. Will continue to purchase!

When I booked my first international trip, the travel agent strongly suggested I take the travel insurance. I'm so glad I did! I injured my knee bad enough that I sought medical attention. But, my credit card was required for payment of those services. The policy I purchased covered my medical expenses. A few forms were filled out, medical records sent. Just got off the phone with Allianz after learning that a college graduation in Boston scheduled for May 10th has been cancelled. Called to make a claim regarding 2 roundtrip tickets from San Diego to Boston. Was told in no uncertain terms that any cancellations attributed to Covid-19 are not recognized for reimbursement. Cruel response in light of the challenges everyone is facing in this uncertain time. All other businesses are exhibiting compassion toward their customers and Allianz has specifically designed a policy to deny anyone affected by the events surrounding this National Emergency. Too late for me, but for future customers, run!
