I was diagnosed with covid-19 and Allianz helped me get a refund in a quick and timely manner. The process was easy and I appreciate their help in a tough time. We have used Allianz in the past and this is the second time we have needed to file a claim. Both times Allianz reimbursed us and helped us with our travel issues. We had to cancel our trip this month due to health issues and after we sent the requested information, our claim was filed and closed within a few days. Very impressive! Not only do we recommend Allianz, we encourage travelers to protect their travel through them!

I had to cancel my reservation because of a injury to my right ankle. Have a torn tendon that made it impossible to drive or enjoy a desert vacation. Everyone at Allianz treated me great, and I will always use Allianz when I travel in the future!! Thanks to all who worked with me.

We had to cancel our planned camp rental with another family after a close relative became ill. I'm especially grateful for the excellent assistance I received from McKenzie ** in completing the process and submitting the application. Very easy process to submit a claim, everything was done online. Allianz was quick to request supporting documents and process my claim. Would have liked a little more money for my lost camcorder. I received 300 for my handyman which I paid 525 for 12 months ago, but I understand depreciation. Very quick to respond, fast and easy process. Would definitely recommend, I know I will be using them again.

I was VERY pleased with the ease in filing a claim online and the PROMPT reply and payment, delivered directly to my bank account. I highly recommend Allianz for trip insurance! You never know when things will happen to change your travel plans at the last minute. With insurance, it’s better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!!

I was planned to go to Vegas with my BFF. Unfortunately she got sick, really sick. They refunded my trip. I have been an Interval international member for many years. I have always purchased the insurance. Interval has always been great. I knew that they would only partner with the best. My BFF just finished her last rad. treatment, came thru and now mending. This company was awesome during a very difficult time.

It did take a little while going back and forth with paperwork. However, they were great in the end. Very satisfied. I had to make the calls to follow up but they would respond and eventually the insurance came thru. First insurance company that actually paid out. Pleasantly surprised.

We had to leave lodging early because of an illness. The company would not refund payment for canceled night. The Claim was settled promptly and accurately. It is why I purchase travel insurance. I have been with Allianz for several years.

Allianz took my claim and resolved it within 4 days. Very happy that I took their insurance for my travel plans. Customer service personnel were very helpful as I had lost my insurance ID number. They emailed me all the information I needed right away.

Overall, Allianz came through for us but not without some hassle first with the website and online claim submission, then with phone calls and emails. There were some conflicting messages. I would recommend that Allianz should work on making the process more user friendly.

Allianz was very easy to work with. Our covered trip had 4 stops. With Covid-19, each of our vacation stops changed drastically. Our trip turned into a trip we had not planned or wanted. Our claim was honored easily and quickly.

I am very pleased w/ Allianz. Received my reimbursement within 7 days after my return from my trip. My flight into DFW was delayed. So I missed my connection. I had a 7 hour layover in DFW. Went to the American Airline club.

Each representative who I spoke to on the phone was very personal, professional, and knowledgeable. However, it does take a long time to get through all the prompts on the Allianz phone system. Your reps made up for the time I spent listening to prompts!!

The insurance paid us back quickly - with very good service! Our trip was cancelled due to an illness and the company reimbursed us quickly requiring no additional information - we were very impressed! The tickets were on Alaska airlines.

I have 0 complaints. Claim was processed fast and professionally from beginning to end. I have had several similar experiences with other carriers on similar claims (Ex--AIG--lost paperwork, numerous delays, etc)--they paled in comparison. I will attempt to purchase from your company in the future and have recommended you to others.

High risk Pregnancy and suffering from migraines we could no longer take our trip. We got refunded thanks to Allianz. The process was smooth and easy and the lady in the phone I dealt with was extremely helpful. I will be sure to use them again next trip.

Claim process relatively pain free. But my claim was legit and I legitimately had a medical and surgical reason for canceling my trip. Only gripe, I was sent 2 checks in my name and the other passenger even though I sent in proof of only me paying for the tickets. I will continue to purchase travel insurance every time I fly.

They had my money returned after I couldn’t attend military duty after my daughter tested positive for COVID-19. Very happy with the service. I just had to submit paperwork for my military commander and then I received my money back within a week's time. Could not be more happy with the service. Will definitely use again.

First time I have purchased travel insurance. I was having a terrible travel day and bought a one way ticket because the airline could not provide status of rebooking. My arriving flight was late and I missed the flight I purchased. Had to rent a car and drive home. So glad I had the insurance to cover the cost of the rental car.

I was told I would be given two choices, a cash amount and point amount. I never received a cash offer as a choice. I asked to have claims adjuster call me so I could discuss the claim but no one ever returned my call.

Purchased insurance in December 2019 for a trip in August/September 2020. Our trip was cancelled due to the pandemic. Allianz is denying all claims related to Covid 19. Don’t buy this insurance thinking it will protect you.

Bought airline ticket MONTHS in advance before the whole Covid fiasco. The conference I was supposed to attend had to be cancelled to accommodate government guidelines due to Covid. They denied my refund claim and my appeal. COVID SHOULD BE MEDICAL REASON ENOUGH. Stay far away from Allianz!

I bought a 1-year Allianz travel insurance in August 2019 for my wife and I. Since Covid-19 started in March 2020, we postponed all our plans to travel. In May, I emailed their Sales Support team asking whether they’re doing anything for insured people for the lack of travel (my car Insurance company did that, without even me asking). Instead they immediately refunded me some tiny partial amount (that doesn’t add up) and cancelled (without notification, but I had no idea till today) the rest of my insurance (6 months). I repeatedly emailed them (the only way to reach this lowly bunch) asking for a breakdown on their refund calculation & whether my policy was still active. NO REPLY whatsoever.
I finally called the main customer service number, explained that I never asked for a cancellation, and again asked for a breakdown. Well I guess the almighty Sales Support team refused to reinstate my policy or increase the refund to what would amount to 6 months out of a 1 year policy. I even asked to send them back that insulting refund and reinstate my policy. NADA!
This is the second incident with ALLIANZ that leaves me wondering what would really happen if, God forbid, something bad happened while actually traveling and you really needed them. They would leave you hanging because they’ve got your money already and they don’t really care anymore. If I were you, DO NOT PURCHASE ANY TRAVEL INSURANCE through them. Go to Travelex or John Hancock. If you did, you’d only be asking for lack of commitment, lack of support, tons of frustration & high blood pressure. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! This is a real warning. Recap: all I asked for was ‘what they were doing regarding the Covid-19 no-travel months!’ That’s it! Did not ask for a refund or cancellation. Thank you for your time!

You would think a travel insurance company would help its customers during this crisis, instead they refuse to issue refunds! BAD BUSINESS!!!! I bought travel insurance for a cruise I was to take in May. As all cruises were cancelled in March, I asked for a return of the premium amount. Email replies said they were busy and would get to me in 8-10 business days. After a month I sent another request for premium refund. I twice sent in paperwork showing that the cruise was cancelled by Celebrity. Now they just ignore all emails. Please do not do business with this company if you want to be treated fairly.

I called on May 18 and I was told that someone will reach back to me with my case but so far still nobody has call me, they sent me a check only for the first part of the claim and ignored that the passenger still in the USA.

After an insured cruise was cancelled by the cruise line, I requested, and Allianz agreed to provide an immediate refund of my trip insurance premium. After months and dozens of follow- ups, they are still holding it, despite assurances (lies) that the refund has been issued. DO NOT USE ALLIANZ FOR TRAVEL INSURANCE!

Allianz did come through and cancelled my other 2 insurance policies and refunded my premiums. I am not sure if it was my review or my concern was escalated internally. In either case, I am satisfied they did refund my premiums.

I purchased three Deluxe International Trip Protector II insurance policies for a family trip to Aruba on March 21, 2020. The trip was cancelled due to Covid-19 virus. I was able to file a claim online for one of my policies. When I went to file the second and third claim I was not able to as I received message noting claim had been filed. I was hopeful that Allianz would note based on documents I submitted that there were multiple policies purchased under my name on same day.
I did receive confirmation on May 19 that first policy was cancelled and premium would be refunded. I have reached out numerous times the past 6 weeks seeking cancellation of other two policies as well. I did get one response noting that I could not cancel as I was beyond Free Look period. I have tried to gain clarification and seek option to escalate request given my one claim was processed for one of the three policies purchased. My last inquiry on June 17 has gone unanswered even though email notes a response within 2 business days.

This entire process was very much a struggle. I had to file two different claims (since I had two flights) which is fine, but one was approved and the other declined. I had to keep calling back, speaking To several people to try to figure out what happened. I had a doctor's note attached to my claim which didn’t seem to matter at first. This was a lengthy and (honestly) quite frustrating experience. So much so, that I have decided to no longer use Delta and Allianz for my traveling needs.

I have been trying to get money from TSA for almost 6? months to replace the item they lost during a search of my bag. I gave four stars due to the fact that the insurance did not help with another trip that I needed to cancel due to COVID. Purchasers should be aware of that especially now.

i received full reimbursement for medical expenses incurred while on Norwegian Cruise (non-covid related) in a very quick turnaround from date that I submitted claim. Email updates were also helpful.. (unlike Norwegian that has yet to respond sine Mar 25th- and owes a 50% refund of cruise cost). Please read all reviews before considering this company. As you will see, they are denying ALL claims that they think they can somehow relate to COVID. We bought our policy in December 2019 BEFORE COVID. We started a claim to cancel the trip due to my husband's chronic medical issues but BEFORE we could see his doctor- the travel company, in April, cancelled the trip scheduled for December 2020. Nowhere did the travel company state they were cancelling due to COVID. Since the trip was CANCELLED, we asked for our premium to be returned, since we did not take the trip. We spent 10 weeks going back and forth with them...playing dumb, saying we didn't send the correct documents, waiting forever to speak with customer service etc. and in the end, we were denied for COVID. BAD, BAD PEOPLE< BAD, BAD COMPANY.

We purchased Allianz flight insurance through American Airlines for a flight for an Oceania cruise. After Oceania cancelled the cruise due to the coronavirus we tried to get reimbursed for the unusable airline tickets, but Allianz said they do not cover coronavirus-related cancellations.

We were unable to fly to a U. of Michigan law school graduation due to Covid 19. We had taken out insurance on the flight. United was gracious in offering us 2 years to re-use the tickets. However my husband is 91 with serious COPD. Your agency was understanding when I told them that the chance of us being able to fly again was very doubtful and they refunded our money for the flight. We were very grateful and had yet another reason to be pleased with Allianz.

Allianz was extremely helpful. I called and spoke to an agent who told me exactly what would be required when filing a claim because my travel companion was ill, so that there would be no need for any further discussion/delays after my claim was filed. I submitted all of my required documentation and clearly explained the reasons why we were unable to travel. Even in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, where it was clear that Allianz was receiving a much larger claim volume than usual, I received timely feedback on my claim and was refunded in full. I would recommend Allianz to anyone, and every time I travel I will use Allianz for insurance because of how reliable and timely your response was, and how easy it was to file a claim.

I purchased airfare in November of 2019 with insurance. In March of 2020 a Global Pandemic occurred. Course closed, stares quarantined. When I had to cancel my trip which was scheduled for July my claim with Allianz was Denied and my money was not returned. They claim it was not an Epidemic! If a Global Pandemic does not warrant the return of my airfare, the fact that my starter did not allow, Allow, me to work for four months and STILL not working, does not qualify for my insurance l travel insurance to kick in then this company and its services are a Complete Waste of Money and I will never purchase their travel insurance again! I am appalled by the lack of concern, care, and commitment to their customers and their service.

I will not travel without Allianz travel insurance. The reimbursement/insurance policy is straightforward and easy to comprehend. I do not feel that I am somehow still exposed after reading the contract. The reimbursement administration is easily completed online. The reimbursement itself is incredibly speedy. Incredibly. I have used one other travel insurer in recent years. While I did received reimbursement, it was much more time consuming and laborious and the reimbursement was very slow processing. With Allianz, I have made both small and large claims. No difference in results, process or timeliness. I have and continue to recommend Allianz.

The decision to prohibit coverage was based on an event that did not exist at the time the policy was purchased. "Your plan does not provide coverage for losses due to an event that was known and foreseeable, intended, or expected when your plan was purchased." This excuse for non-coverage alleges we knew of the pending pandemic, closure of countries and cancellation of airlines. We were in Europe for two day when the countries started to close their borders. The accusation that the insurance would not cover our losses because "It is designed to protect you when there is a sudden, unexpected problem or emergency." When all countries shut down their border and the U.S. President closed entry to all European travelers when we were in Austria, this was a sudden problem which was unforeseen and unexpected.
We purchased trip insurance in case problems arose and cancellations occurred. The excuse that "Your insurance program provided trip cancellation for specific reasons. Unfortunately, your destination being restricted or inaccessible due to the Coronavirus outbreak is not included among those reasons." With this reasoning, there is nothing that cannot be used to deny coverage under your policies. I will contact the State Attorney General in Colorado to report this violation of the contract with the intention of preventing you from operating in this state in the future.

My siblings and I planned an expensive trip to Cuba, so our mother could return to her homeland for the first (and last) time since she and our father were married there in 1959. We were going with a group of 12 of us, as our older children wanted to experience Cuba first-hand, as well. Luckily, we purchased insurance for each of us, as we had no idea what would happen between the time we booked the trip, and the actual trip date! We had no idea that a pandemic was imminent, flights would be cancelled, and countries would start banning tourists.
Our trip host refused to give us back our (large) deposit--hoping we would just postpone our trip. However, with our mother being 86, some of us becoming unemployed, and the grandkids headed in a million different directions, we had no idea when we would be able to reconvene for a trip like this. We agreed we should file an insurance claim, to get back our deposit money. Luckily, the process was smooth and painless, and Allianz refunded our entire deposit to us.

They continue to ask for the same documents despite having sent them everything several times( with confirmed reception via mail delivery services- fedex, ups, regular mail).
About 8 months ago they told me they had everything they needed and this morning I received a call form a collection agency telling me that Global Allianz hadn’t covered the fees claiming that they had not received all the documents ( when I actually have proof they did). I have spent endless hours being transferred to agents and completing paperwork. I have spent money on getting these letters sent with confirmed signature. And now I am left having to cover thousands of dollars for a medical bill that was supposed to be covered. I strongly discourage anyone from dealing with this company. Stay away. I am currently on hold with them and have been for 54 minutes and counting and haven’t spoken to anyone yet and this is the norm.

I could not go on my trip due to health problems and the Corona virus. I was able to get a refund. We were going to Hawaii. In Hawaii you had to remain in your room for 14 days in quarantine. So we could not enjoy our vacation as we would be coming back by then. So I was very grateful when I was able to get a refund from Allianz. We are over 70 so we don’t know if we will be able to arrange a trip on a different date. Thank you.

I am a retired disabled vet. I served in Beirut. This is a very untrustworthy company. Please be careful. Be aware that they do have all your credit card information and you will get billed without knowing it. They charged me $750 for a nail in a tire. Oh by the way I'm the one that changed the tire and put the spare tire on so they probably would have charged me more if they would have had to change the tire. The company does not respond to emails. When I called the young lady to try to talk to her she hung up on me.

Figuring out how to file a claim and what exactly was needed was quite painstaking. The link on the email from my initial confirmation of purchase did not work. However, once I learned what documents were needed (different information depending on to whom I spoke) and how to file a claim, everything went very smoothly. Also, I was quite pleased that Allianz covered my claim and reimbursed me quickly.

I always buy an annual policy from Allianz, and this time I needed it. I got a terminal disease diagnosis (ALS) after I had made down payments for 2 to Chile in December to see the total eclipse. The tour company refunded only $3000 of the $7000 I paid them. Allianz came up the rest, so I am totally happy. I do urge my family to get an Allianz policy.

My wife and I had travel insurance thru Allianz for our cruise last February, 2020. While on the ship, my wife needed to see the ship's doctor. Our bill was over $500.00. After arriving home, I initially did not think that our policy would cover those charges so I paid them on my own. Why purchase insurance when it gets denied when you put in a claim. They made me wait 2 1/2 months only to tell me my claim was going to be paid. They should at least given me airline credit. I will not recommend this to anyone I know.

My husband and I had to cancel a trip from Boston to Arizona booked on American Airlines, April 2, 2020 to April 5, 2020. Weeks before the trip, our physician advised us not to fly, especially my husband who is diabetic and has serious asthma. He gave us letters to that effect. We had purchased flight insurance from Allianz so first we tried calling- that was hours and we were told we would receive a call-back but we never did. Then I tried to file a claim online but the claim would not transmit due to "unexpected technical error". We tried to fax a claim but the fax number kept coming back "busy/no response". Finally, I wrote a letter (I wrote 2 in the end) and made copies of our doctor's letters, our flight information, our Allianz contract- everything- and mailed it to Richmond, Va. We did receive an e-mail acknowledging receipt of our letter and finally, another e-mail saying that we would receive a refund check.
We are very grateful to Allianz for the refund and recognize that during Covid, there must have been many claims and calls, but it was a very long process to receive a refund and had I not been so persistent, no refund would ever have been sent. We have always, and will always purchase trip and flight insurance. We never used it before and hope we won't need to in the future, but the process needs to be a bit easier. Thanks you, though, for our refund. We hope you all stay well.

Purchased very expensive seats for June 2020 Con Art in early February BEFORE Covid19. Concert was postponed until next year TBA! I got new job starting June. Could not attend event even if not postponed! I filed claim, uploaded all docs and continue to get message of cannot process claim bc docs have not been submitted. I emailed and uploaded direct, now I'm done! I paid over $1000 for event tickets and parking which was cancelled and still no refund! This company is using Pandemic to escape a contract that has NO clause in February for COVID19. Will be advertising a class action lawsuit.

DO NOT PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE WITH ALLIANZ. I purchased travel insurance with Allianz to have peace of mind when it comes to trip cancellation. After a few days my visa to Turkey was denied and was a valid claim to take my refund. Allianz took 4 months back and forth asking for all types of documents and upon providing all required documents, they finally rejected my claim saying I had credit in which my ticket explicitly says ticket is NONREFUNDABLE, NONTRANSFERABLE, AND NON-CHANGEABLE. I have no credit at the end, but I am taking it to court to get my valid claim. Unfortunately these kind of companies cheat their way out and rob people's money. I will make sure they will be held into account.

I changed my existing low interest credit card into an expensive 20% interest for the "benefit" of having travel insurance, car rental third party liability etc. Little that I know that the "insurer" was Allianz. We had history with this guys. Bottom line we got stranded over the border, Air Transat, literally dumped us there, and we had to buy tickets with another Air Carrier to get home. We thought we have travel insurance.
For the last 2 months, I am going back and forth with them, they keep on pretending that they didn't get that paper or the other one. I sent them 3 times, last time I spoke to them I was on the phone with someone there and he confirmed he got my documentation. Now, we are back to square one. They need them again. I am one the phone with them, on hold actually, more than half an hour, and nothing. Keep in mind. All insurance companies are crooks. Their first rule is to deny any initial claim. ALL CLAIMS ARE BEING DENIED. Because 90% of the so-called insured people give up. I would give them no stars ore minus if I could. Stay away from Allianz. Just another garbage company.

Bought travel insurance for my niece's wedding in July. Unfortunately, my niece and her fiancee are having difficulty getting out of China due to Covid-19 as their jobs have ended there. So, the wedding is rescheduled until July, 2021. Allianz will not cover anything to do with Covid-19. I completely regret buying their insurance and will never buy it again! My claim was due to reconstructive foot surgery and a claim submitted during pandemic. Allianz spent two months working the claim, which involved European travel and lodging for a party of four. Very deliberate process with strong communication. We received 100% of the claim amount. Worked with a claims agent by the name of Aly, wish I knew her last name. Aly made the difference and was able to unwrap an issue with our claim. This was our first policy with Allianz and we will be back for our next travel policy.

I purchased this insurance through Alaska Airlines on the recommendation of our outfitter in case there are weather delays and flight changes needed to be made. That is what happened and to change my flight it ended up costing $650. So I filed a claim and submitted all the documentation they requested and the sent me $150. To be fair to Allianz they were fast and responsive and the process wasn't too difficult. Unfortunately I still felt like the point of the insurance I paid for was to cover these costs not 1/4 of the costs so I reached out again and asked for clarification for why only $150 was paid when my receipts clearly showed $650 in change fees. They then sent another $250. I had planned to reached out again and attempt to get the remaining $250 to get to the full $650 but never did.
There should really be more guidance from Alaska Airlines about the Allianz travel insurance and what and how much it covers. Allianz was good to work with. I just don't understand why it's not a 100% reimbursement for change fees I incurred due to weather that was out of my control. I thought that was the whole reason for buying the insurance. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't buy the insurance and just take my chances.

Purchased 6 tickets for Hank Williams concert in Salem Va and purchased insurance because it was several months prior to concert. At time of purchase no one had ever heard of Covid 19. At first the concert was moved until Oct 24 and knowing we could not attend filed a claim. Their response was that there was a clause stating it did not cover things like a pandemic so claim was denied. Their website states that if you send an email they will respond in 24 hours. I have sent two in the last couple of months and have yet to receive a response. My question is....how would they know to put a clause like that in? Nobody knew this was going to happen! NEVER AGAIN. These kind of people have gotten the last of my money, but, if they can live with it we can live without it. That concert has now been cancelled and, thankfully, Ticketmaster is sending refund. I am thankful for that.

The website has been inoperative for the entire process of the claim, requiring long, unnecessary waits on the phone. The phone messaging has long preliminaries that should have a bypass option, especially if everyone has to be routed there and especially if there is no option to talk to a human at the end on weekends (and it hangs up on you). Although my claim was approved in a reasonable time, the check has apparently been lost in the mail, yet I cannot get a human to talk to in order to track the check. Instead, I have now received two surveys which are annoying since the process is not yet complete.

Do Not Purchase Travel Insurance with this company. They will do everything they can to get out of paying you for your claim. We purchased round trip tickets from Atlanta to NJ for a wedding back in February. Then the virus hit and the country was pretty much shut down and you could not travel anywhere. They claim they had a warning up on their website when I purchased my airline tickets but they did not until after my purchase was made.
My point is, if there was ever a reason for a company to make good on an insurance claim it would be now during this time of economic distress and uncertainty. They basically just blew me off and said, "We don't cover situations like this and our policy states so." That is the worst BS story I have ever heard and they made no effort to help us with a reimbursement for our trip. I personally will never use them again as they have a fine print statement to get out of anything that happens. You are better off taking your chances and roll the dice for everything being ok on your trip plans. Very Disappointed.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, Hawaii is requiring a 14-day hotel room quarantine, so we were forced to cancel our trip. Allianz will not give us back any money for the air insurance ($74.74) or the car insurance ($99) we purchased and will not use. So... we will never purchase insurance from them ever again, and they will lose a lot more money from their poor business policies.

I had purchased two flights separately. Going and a return flight. I purchased insurance for each flight. I was going to visit my sister who just had a baby. However my husband lost his job. We wouldn’t afford the money for me to be gone a week. I submitted all the paperwork proving of the job loss. The departure claim got approved and I got my money back. However the return claim for my flight did not. This makes NO sense at all. How can you approve one and not the other, stating it didn’t fall within the guidelines of a claim. Allianz approved my claim. Claim was approved after the pandemic shutdown. I was surprised it moved as quickly as it did given the shut down. I will keep Allianz in mind next time I travel. The claim process was pretty straightforward.

We had 2 claims—one for medical expenses on board and the other for missed ports. Allianz paid both claims promptly. The reason for 4 stars, instead of 5, is that there was some confusion on submission of documents. Your website did not let me file both claims at once. When I submitted documents electronically for claim 2, I got a message that you still needed documentation. So I copied and mailed them to you. A few glitches, it appears, but overall a very good and fair handling of the claims!

Had a road closure that prevented travel to my destination. Allianz covered the hotel and expenses for staying that night. Submitted the claim with documentation and had no trouble getting reimbursement. We are very pleased with our experience and will definitely use Allianz again.

I had to cancel my flight from Orlando, FL to Portland, OR due to the change in my plans because of COVID-19. It took a while (understandable probably due to the high volume of requests) but I received a full refund. Thank you Allianz!

I put in a claim for travel reimbursement when we had to leave a cruise early for medical reasons (not Covid). I have been asked to submit a lot of documentation, have not received acknowledgment of receipt, and have been unable to speak with anyone. When I check the claim online it says "in progress." This is the second time I have been asked to fill out a survey on your service. The other part of the claim, for medical services on the ship, was paid, but this part is not paid yet and I don't know what's holding it up.

I submitted a claim to get reimbursed for airline mileage reinstatement fees when I had to cancel a flight for medical reasons. I am pleased that my claim was paid for the full amount requested. It did take a little longer than expected but due to the Coronavirus, that is understandable.

I explained and attached a letter from Viking Cruises that stated I was cancelling our fall cruise because our daughter is in a high risk pregnancy due to deliver right before this trip embarked. I am unable to leave her at that time... We asked that we be refunded the $1220.00 that we paid to Allianz. We also recently filed a claim on another cruise we were on and interrupted and received only a portion of that back. So far Allianz has between these two trips over $2000 of our funds for service not provided and only reimbursed $200. I would be hard put to ever use this company again and will in fact notify my travel agency (which is a national organization) that they should also not recommend you.

I filed a claim, and was required to provide the documentation twice. In the end, I was only paid a portion of my claim amount. The notice I received did not provide the reason for the partial payment. I asked for the reason, but was not provided a response yet.

Final outcome was perfect. I feel the process could have been quicker. Bank account was missing one number (one zero in a sequence of four was dropped). I corrected the number, but check was issued instead of a direct deposit. To repeat, I was pleased with the final result.

I was extremely please with the cruise insurance I purchased from Allianz. While on our cruise to South America in February my travel agent was able to contact Allianz on my behalf and get me an emergency case number. I called several times and was given great service while trying to navigate the problems my wife had. The claims process was simple and given the circumstances with Covid the response time for reimbursement was relatively short. My thanks and Allianz is my travel insurance from now on.

I had a hard time getting accurate answers from each person I spoke with. Each person was rude. My mother Susan ** has still not received her full refund. Your company is giving her a hard time. My initial call was not helpful, however the followup call prompted correct information to move forward with my claim. After the initial call, the customer service representatives I spoke with were extremely helpful in advising me what I need to do to in order to file my claim for my refund. My wife and I had to cut our March vacation short by 16 days and needed to reschedule our flight plans. Although our original insurance plan did not cover trip interruption--they requested, rightfully so, documentation that this was a medical necessity in order to review the claim--we submitted such--and they honored our request for the change of flight dollar amount. They were professional and courteous and went beyond what they were legally required to do.

Usually, I'd say 5/6 of the claims I've submitted have been answered with an e-mail stating that I did not upload any documents. Like Allianz, I am German and we do not send out any correspondence unless it is perfect. When I call their claims department suddenly they've found the documents. I estimate that each claims adjusted is given 20"' to decide each claim -- there is no other possible explanation for the carelessness and indifference they show.
This last claim was for travel delay. I flew LAX-LON-PAR-DUS, first two legs on BA last on AF. The BA flight was 173" late into Paris and so I missed my connection to Duesseldorf. Their claims agent just skimmed the e-mail from BA about the 173" and decided that the delay didn't reach five hours and so she denied it. I uploaded six documents, one of which was the connection itinerary on AF that proved I missed the connection and was forced to overnight in Paris.
When I called to ask why my reply had been ignored for seven weeks and was told that they would not review the claim but now I have to go through an "appeals" process. I sent an angry appeal about this and past careless handling of my claims and advised AGI that if I do not receive my disbursement within seven days will go to small claims court. Perhaps if they have to hire a lawyer here in Riverside County to appear in Superior Court to hear a judge side with me, it will get their attention. Have already lodged complaints with the California Department of Insurance and my state senator. You may think I am investing too much energy in this, but some has to put a stop to them -- why not I?

Last month I had an experience with a damaged luggage while flying and my suitcase was insured through Allianz. I though thank god I have this insurance since the Alaska Airline decided not to take responsibility for the damages. When I filed the damaged equipment/suitcase claim I patiently waited and after awhile I decided to call back for confirmation. After speaking with a representative to my surprise they let me know that there is additional documentation needed. Have I known that I would have already submitted the additional documents but hey I was patient again blaming it on the pandemic and maybe people being overwhelmed.
Well today has been almost a month and I called again just to speak with a representative who gave me the generic response "Due to the high volume we are doing our best" and I can't tell you more. If this is indeed your best as a leading Fortune 500 company I'd say I would never use or recommend this insurance service to anyone.
I am utterly disappointed because Allianz states on their phone line recording that due to the pandemic they are not fulfilling claims within their usual process time window of 3-5 business days. On the website after I submitted all additional documentation a message was displayed saying to allow 7-10 business days. Even with a lot of padding this doesn't add up to a month waiting and no response, estimate or even an email back from this company letting you know that they are working on it and it might be taking them few extra days. If that was the case I'll put on my patience cape and wait again.
Definitely don't recommend doing business with the claims department of Allianz for damaged luggage, because if you need reimbursement and need to purchase new items and relying on getting your claim fulfilled this won't happen. Sorry Allianz. You lost one customer after first very disappointing experience who won't even consider your services when it comes to something bigger - insuring a property or else.

My return flight was cancelled and my checked baggage was badly damaged on my trip. It's been 6 weeks since I sent all documentation they requested for expensive return flight. Their website says 7 to 10 business is how long it takes. Yes, I know times are different, but this is beyond the limit. I've made 3 follow up calls, and after listening to slow speaking drone for 20 to 30 minutes, with ridiculous options, eventually I can bypass by pressing "0" and then the "agent" is always so "phony apologetic" and always say that the examiner will call me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

We bought the Allianz travel insurance for a 3 week trip to Eastern Europe and we needed to file a claim due to an injury that prevented us from traveling. We opened a claim and supplied the required documentation the same day. They have repeatedly asked for additional unnecessary documentation and each time have delayed payment. It is a clear policy to try to get us to go away. Their site says it will take 10 days. Well here we are 43 days later and they are again asking again for more stuff to delay paying us. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

This is a complete joke and scam. We filed a claim since my husband was laid off from his job, something that actually was covered under my policy. However, since his layoff was due to the business slowing down because of the COIVD-19 shelter in place, they used it as an excuse to deny us since epidemics are not covered. This is a horrible way to do business and customers will remember. When life gets back to normal and people start travelling again, this will be remembered. I hope your business gets sued and goes under for the horrible way you are treating people.

Claim was approved but haven't received it. Initially I would give 5 stars however since I haven't received my claim payment and my inquiry into it hasn't been answered. The only response I can give is 1 unhappy star. Otherwise my response would be different. They accepted my claim after my sister passed away suddenly but it's been a month and a half and I still haven't seen my money back.

I purchased 2 policies from this company for 2 different vacations. I filed a claim on one, because we had to cancel our trip for personal reasons. I get an email saying they rejected the claim because the trip was to New York, and they claimed it was due to COVID 19 which they are not insuring trips over. I am at a loss in what good the insurance is good for then. That was not the reason we canceled, but they do not care. So I contacted them to cancel that policy and was hoping to get a refund. I specifically said what trip I wanted to cancel the policy on, but they canceled the other policy instead. So I called them. I was told the only way that I could fix their mistake, was to pay the cost of that policy again. So what there explaining I have to do is pay for the policy again, but my refund from when they screwed up the first time will take 30 days. So I told them to cancel the other policy also.
I was told I had to request a cancellation and refund for the other policy, which is the one I wanted canceled originally anyway. I then get an email explains that I was within there refund policy, but since I filed a claim I used the policy. Therefore I can’t get a refund. So now I have paid for trip insurance to cover any loss for an unexpected cancellation. They won’t honor the policy because it’s to New York and apparently any cancellation to there is due to COVID. They won’t refund the cost of the insurance even though I am within their guidelines, but because I made a claim they rejected a refund.
And not only am I getting ripped off for the cost of insurance they won’t cover, but now my other trip insurance was cancelled by their mistake. And they are not doing anything for me because I am getting the typical corporate Bullcrap from every person I speak to. This company is clearly a joke for trip insurance, and their employees are clearly trained robots. Don’t spend your money on this insurance. Because all I did was waste money.

I purchased two tickets in February from Ticketmaster along with insurance from Allianz should the event be cancelled. I received an email from Ticketmaster indicating the event was cancelled due to COVID-19, so I filed a claim. I also sent in the required documentation showing purchase/cancellation. Allianz refused the claim as my plan does not cover “losses due to an epidemic.” Also, my plan “excludes coverage for any loss that results directly or indirectly from the event being cancelled or delayed by the venue or promoter for any reason,” and the plan I purchased “does not provide coverage for losses due to an event that was known, foreseeable, intended, or expected.”
I wasn’t aware at the time of purchase that COVID-19 was a foreseeable, intended or expected. However, COVID-19 is an unexpected problem. It appears filing a claim due to COVID-19 is the “catchall” to deny it and a referral back to where you bought your ticket. So far, I have been refunded $5 by Ticketmaster out of $160 plus the funds I spent on insurance to Allianz and pre-parking fees. I cannot recommend insurance coverage from Allianz.

I purchased ticket insurance on a pair of concert tickets, as Allianz's services are made readily available through Ticketmaster. Unfortunately Allianz is taking advantage of the COVID-19 situation. When the concert was rescheduled for a date that I cannot attend, I submitted a claim in the hopes of receiving help from the company with whom my tickets were supposed to be insured. I received a letter back with lists of reasons why they would not cover my claim - many of which I was able to disprove. For example, they claimed that they do not cover it if it was a "foreseeable event" and that COVID was foreseeable in January. I argued that if the major effects of COVID had been foreseeable in January, schools would not have brought back students from Winter break and venues would have postponed the concerts back in January rather than in the middle of March, mere days before the events were supposed to take place.
The man with whom I emailed was unable to disprove my points and ultimately said that they are not covering for COVID-19 because it is a pandemic, and my policy does not cover epidemics, and "there are no pandemics that are not also epidemics" (which is technically false; an epidemic is classified as an epidemic when it is local to one or few areas, and becomes a pandemic when it is worldwide). Ultimately I am disappointed in Allianz. During a time when the world should be coming together, Allianz is taking advantage.

It's the second time I've had to use trip insurance and the second time my request has not been honored. We should have saved our money and not purchased insurance. I completed a claim for an airline ticket that I purchased for my 84 year old mother (Joan **), which she could not use because she fell ill when she was due to travel. I requested that the funds be reimbursed to my debit card as I was told that Allianz cannot reimburse to credit cards which is what I used to purchase the ticket. The claim was later approved BUT I was told that a CHECK would be mailed to me!! I sent a complaint but have not heard back. The problem is that since the ticket was issued in my mother's name, I am guessing that the check will be written to her but sent to my address. Firstly, she lives in a different country to me and secondly, I cannot use a check that is written to her because the funds needed to be reimbursed to me. Thirdly, a check will take 6 weeks to clear as we live in the Caribbean. A check is therefore useless and not what I requested when I made the claim.

I purchased 4 concert tickets from Ticketmaster along with insurance from Allianz for 3 of the 4 tickets. 3 of us are FRONT LINE HEALTH CARE WORKERS, and our schedules are difficult enough to change during normal times, not to mention during a "pandemic". Two of these front line workers are Nurses in NY and I am in California working as a Physician Assistant also on the front line with COVID-19. The concert was cancelled due to COVID-19. Ticketmaster graciously gave a refund. Allianz on the other hand said they would not! They said that they do not give refunds for a "Pandemic"?! Interesting how they add that in their policy now when the last pandemic was 100 years ago! I find it hard to believe what I just heard from this representative.. Complete FRAUD Allianz!

I purchased a cancel anytime policy upon booking my trip in the fall of 2019 as I was traveling overseas and paying for three of us. When the trip was impacted by travel restrictions to the country, would have required me to quarantine upon return, and the country itself was on lockdown (with tourist sights closed), I requested a refund of my airfare investment which was granted to me with proper evidence of the impact. The claim process was very straightforward and I appreciate Allianz honoring my policy. I also hope to rebook in the future!

Sadly we had to cancel our annual Senior Trip to Florida, 11 of my brothers and sister always get a Five bedroom condo in the Orlando area, but this year we had 2 who were having cancer treatment so we rescheduled for April 30, then Corona happened and we can’t go. After we arrived on our US to Sydney flight in Nov 2019, our connecting flight to Cairns was cancelled approximately 2 hours before scheduled departure due to high winds at Sydney airport. Allianz Global Assistance text messaged us of the cancellation before it was even posted at the airport!! We arrived the following morning in Cairns missing our first night in Cairns and part of our prepaid tour package. Allianz reimbursed us for all of our claimed costs including our overnight stay in Sydney, for taxis to and from the hotel, and for our prepaid day tour to the Great Barrier Reef which we lost due to our late arrival in Cairns.
