Shouldn't be allowed to be in business. They took my money to cover tickets to a Broadway show through Ticketmaster. My poor daughter was looking forward to this for weeks, especially since we lost my son and husband. She woke up with the flu. :( I called ticketmaster to exchange the ticket date since I bought this insurance, but they said illness isn't covered and refused to help!!

Never again. Never ever never. I purchased Allianz insurance that included trip interruption and cancellation due to severe weather events. I'd say Hurricane Melissa should qualify. Our destination couldn't be reached due to the severity of the storm and Allianz is saying that since we were on a cruise, it was a change of Port and isn't covered. I have a letter from the cruise line stating that the main port couldn't be traveled to safely, and to use their letter to file with insurance due to trip interruption. Allianz just keeps saying that they only cover for very specific reasons. I highlighted the wording on my paperwork from them showing that severe weather events covered included hurricanes or for travel to areas unsafe due to severe weather/hurricanes. They didn't respond to that and said they were attaching information to support their decision, and didn't attach it. I'd say because they don't have anything to support what they are trying to do. Infuriating.

Please read this prior to obtaining any form of insurance through this company. I purchased global travel insurance plans for my outbound and inbound trip. Due to a family crises I had to cancel the trip, I started a claim to which they came back saying they would not refund the return portion which was the most expensive portion paid. Struggling to understand heavy heavy accented personnel they referred me to the airline as the problem and not them even though I bought the insurance in full. I do not recommend using them for any reason as trying to get any refunds for legit reasons is an uphill battle. Extremely frustrating and a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY. Switch and bait.

I have been using this for personal trips for 10 years or more. I have paid for all those trips likely with a trip I took to Australia with my family and work event (was able to get reimbursement for a hotel and flight changes, etc for my daughters and I. Also, my dog needed emergency surgery and was able to get flights for another 2 trips out of it as I had to rebook on another car. Although customer service was troubling a little, not that bad, and reimbursements was quick.

Purchased this on the Delta App with our tickets to Germany. Flight was delayed 24 hours because a pilot failed to show up on time. The cascading effect was a hotel in Europe that we could not cancel because it was within 24 hours and our rental car (booked through delta app) also was not available. It cost us an extra $1000 for hotels and rental cars. I requested numerous times from delta for a "statement of delay" I never received one. Allianz processes the claim, but says since we don't have a statement of delay, they did not honor any of our expenses.... that I even had receipts for.... They could have easily checked, but would not.
I literally had all the paperwork and all of the receipts and so Allianz sent a check for $20..... that's right $20.... $20 does not even cover the premium I paid them... NEVER AGAIN. I will never ever ever buy trip insurance again. It is a scam. I am contacting the insurance commissioner in the state of VA for fraud. Because that is what this is...

I have purchased trip protection at least 3 times but didn't have to use it until the last event. The price is great and it includes a lot of coverage. Purchased tickets for a concert and two of my family members were not able to attend due to school and work. This is one of the coverage that it specifies that you are covered under. But once you start the process, you are required to provide documentation from the school/job stating you had to attend. What kind of BS is this. I shouldn't have to ask my employer for a letter to provide in order to get a refund. That is the point of paying for insurance protection. So I lost the money on two tickets. To be honest, this is not worth it unless you are willing to provide all documentations.

Allianz denied the claim because the death wasn't recent. The customer service was horrible. Kept getting the runaround by these people who don't listen. Had to call three times to get the information i needed. One threatened to hang up on me and cancel my insurance without helping me. They take forever to decide, was lied to by the claims people and told it would go through and we would get a refund but i looked and it was denied. I had been purchasing these trip insurance policies for a few years now. I finally had to use one. Hurricane Melissa wiped out Montego Bay Jamaica so we had to cancel our flights. Sandals moved us, no problems. But AGA refused to refund the flights saying they don't cover venues' decisions to not host us. REALLY? Totally wrong! The policy covers hurricanes, etc. but even my appeal was denied. My son recently became a professional travel advisor. He tells me that these policies are completely worthless, because the airlines actually guarantee the exact same things. Then the airlines told me the exact same thing that my son told me: "Never buy any of these policies because we cover the same things for free!"
After AGA denied my claim, I contacted Delta and they gave me a full refund! I never had to buy this policy in the first place! Never buy one of these policies ever in your life, because the airlines and venues guarantee the same thing that these people do. And, the airlines and venues actually take care of you! All these people do is collect your money and laugh. If I wasn't covered under a historically catastrophic Cat5 hurricane that wiped out the airport and the property I was traveling to, then good luck with your claim!

I had an issue with my policy purchase. When I first spoke to an agent, they directed me to the website and guided me on which policy to buy. I was specifically told that the policy would allow me to cancel anytime for any reason. However, months later, I was informed that this is not actually a cancel-for-any-reason policy. If I had known this from the start, I would have purchased insurance directly through the cruise company instead. I only chose this policy because I was assured by the agent that it offered cancel-for-any-reason coverage. I’ve since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I believe this situation is unfair and misleading. While I don’t expect much to be done, I want to make others aware of my experience so they can avoid being misled in the same way.

Allianz Travel Insurance: A Disappointing and Frustrating Experience. I purchased a travel insurance policy from Allianz with the expectation of reliable coverage, but my experience with their claims process was nothing short of a nightmare. They were quick to take my money for the policy, but when I needed to file a claim, their entire approach changed. The most shocking part of the process was when they informed me that my policy was "secondary insurance." This was never made clear during the purchase, and it immediately complicated the entire situation. They refused to even look into my claim until I had exhausted all options with my primary insurer, a requirement that was both unreasonable and a clear roadblock to getting the help I paid for.
The claims department made the process unnecessarily difficult. I was met with unreasonable requests for an excessive amount of documents, many of which were difficult or impossible to obtain. It felt like they were deliberately trying to deter me from continuing the claim, and it worked. To make matters worse, all of my attempts to get clarification or a status update were met with silence. They simply did not answer my communications, leaving me completely in the dark and feeling abandoned.
In the end, I paid for a policy that provided no real protection or peace of mind. The company's refusal to process my claim, combined with their lack of communication, has made me regret ever doing business with them. I strongly advise anyone considering Allianz travel insurance to be extremely cautious and to read the fine print very carefully.

I unfortunately will be out of the state when the new rescheduled event takes place. I was unable to review the insurance coverage before purchasing, come to find out rescheduled events are not covered and neither are previously scheduled plans. As a paying customer I am now forced to choose between missing in-law's birthday and losing hotel and travel fares, or miss out on the expensive concert tickets. To top it off, the event is in a month but because the original date has passed, I cannot even cancel and get a refund on the worthless insurance policy. This experience has shown me that no insurance is way more value than paying for this company's insurance policy.

My family and I were stranded on Maui due to a tsunami warning and canceled flight. We were forced to evacuate and couldn't get a flight home for days. When the danger passed, we were fortunate enough to find a hotel. I called Allianz from Maui the next day and asked what our coverage was and was told that we had $1500/person per day for Trip Interruption coverage, so not to worry! The day our flight was canceled was a Tuesday. I left with 2 of our children on Friday, and my husband left with 2 of our children on Saturday. Upon our return, I filed a claim for our hotel expenses, food, and transportation (which was pretty minor considering how expensive things are in Hawaii). Allianz only paid out 2/3 of my claim, stating a $250/day limit on hotels. This is laughable as you can't find a hotel in Hawaii for that cheap.
We weren't even at a nice place on the beach... We found a room at a Residence Inn... It was the best we could do under the circumstances. Also, this wasn't mentioned under Trip interruption coverage on my policy, but it was under trip delay. I asked for a review, it was denied. Long story short, Allianz's coverage didn't even cover the cost of our hotel for the days we were stranded there. What is the purpose of purchasing insurance when they won't even pay your claim? I will never buy from Allianz again, and I'll tell everyone I know to avoid them as well.

My company has several devices that are experiencing issues covered by the manufacturer warranty, but because of the one-year limitation imposed by the manufacturer, I submitted a claim through Allianz for the extended warranty recently. I paid for these devices in full with my MasterCard, making them eligible for the coverage.
However, after numerous months of following up with emails and phone calls, my claims have been unjustly denied. Initially, I was told that the devices weren't paid for in full or not covered by the original warranty. Despite providing valid documents from Samsung and Apple multiple times, my claims continue to be rejected. This is unacceptable, and I expect resolution. I will be filing a formal complaint to BBB.

Good choices of plans, user-friendly, very professional, very efficient, 24/7 service available wherever you are in the world and most importantly, they will be there to support you when you need them. Then I had to dig for the fine print and upon reading this huge document, I found out I'd only get half the ticket price! In addition, it's not just a "cancel for any reason" type of deal like they boldly imply. You can only cancel for very, very specific reasons of which they will ask for a pile of documentation to prove it, and even then they can weasel their way out of it with the ambiguous exceptions. Such is the case for me, apparently the list of valid reasons to make a claim have heaps of vague exceptions they can deny a return on.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with Allianz. Though I paid to insure my daughter and I for a cruise to Alaska including airfare, our red-eye flight home from Vancouver was delayed by 9 hours, forcing us to stay in a hotel overnight. I kept all receipts and documents related to the delay, which I submitted. Even though the policy explicitly says there is a $200 limit per person per day, and I insured us both (so $400), Allianz only paid us $200. We had to stay near the airport to catch our flight and we did not have a car.
Our room cost $299. So this expensive insurance I bought did not even cover the cost of one night in a hotel after a 9-hour flight delay. In my opinion, this insurance just isn't worth it. I filed an appeal, but have not heard back, and when I try to check on it, Allianz says they've already paid the claim and it's closed. I will absolutely get this money back one way or another. I just resent that this company is so cheap that I have to fight to get them to cover a one-night hotel stay.

We didn't need to cancel the insurance until Silver Airways cancelled our flights. I was then told I could send proof that Silver Airways cancelled the flight and I could use the insurance for another trip.
I then sent them the email that was sent to me from Silver Airways that the flights were cancelled. That wasn't good enough. They then wanted me to have Silver Airways provide proof that the trip was cancelled and I was refunded the money for the flights. I purchased 3 wheelchair-accessible seats for Billy Joel/Stevie Nicks concert for August 8th 2025 as a surprise birthday gift. I purchased the insurance also, based on the fact the venue suggested it since the Tickets are nonrefundable and will be difficult for me to resell due to the fact they are wheelchair seats. Unfortunately, the person who is handicapped is unable to attend. I am unable to change them to regular seats and no one fits the wheelchair requirements so unable to resell. The Venue suggested I reach out to Allianz and start a claim. Which I did.
I also called them and explained the circumstances. The representative said they would note the extenuating circumstances. Also, send in a copy of the Tickets and proof of payment. That representative was helpful. I got an email from them today denying the refund. The extenuating circumstances do not fit their limited list of approved reasons. I called and spoke with Daniel. I explained the situation. He looked over my claim and said sorry. Nothing can be done.
I explained, "The venue said it should be no problem getting a refund." Allianz should make an exception since the seats are restricted to wheelchair patrons. He said, "No, they're wrong. We stand by our decision." I told him, "You are discriminating against a disabled person. He can not meet your limited list of reasons. All venues make accommodations for disabled people so should you." I was told no. "We are not discriminating against a disabled person by making them do exactly like anyone else."
I tried reasoning with him again. I was told if he gets admitted to the hospital, get a letter from the doctor stating he is there and WHY he can't go or if a death occurs then send in a certified copy of the death certificate. If he has to work, send in a copy of his pay stub. If his car breaks down, a copy of the bill. I laughed and said so I should hope and pray he gets sick enough to be hospitalized, or someone dies. He doesn't work and is unable to drive. Think outside the box and have some compassion for a disabled person. Somehow the call got disconnected.

My flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles was delayed for almost 2 hours due to airline issue that resulted from my next flight to be missed as this flight departed already when I arrived. I ended up missing the flight and stayed overnight as the next possible available flight is the next day 09:00AM. This also caused me to missed my work as I am expected to be home already the night before. I can understand if this is my fault then that is fine.
I filed for a claim. I even call before submitting the claim, in their website I am not sure which category this will fall in so I sent e-mail twice to their two separate e-mail address with no answer. I provided all the documents on my part (receipts, re-booking ticket and even testimony on my part) and submitted this under "travel delay" and "travel interruption" since there is no guidance and unsure where to put this under. And now, they just close my claim without any explanation. I called their hotline to ask why and the customer service even cannot give an assurance or clear explanation. Per him (customer service representative), he said that a testimony from the airline is needed.
I called the airline but the airline is unsure about this as well. What the? I thought the insurance company will be the one to investigate/validate this as I never heard (so far) any instances that if a person missed his/her flight due to his/her not fault, the airline will give the person a proof that he/she missed the flight? I thought insurance agency will be the one to verify this. And yes, if this is my fault and a false claim, I can understand for Allianz to deny this claim. As luck would have it, I developed a back condition that is requiring surgery. They denied coverage based upon 14 day policy. This was due to the fact they actually never emailed me the necessary policy information. Got the hotel, some food, etc. and put in my claim a week or two later. The claim was processed by Mondial Assistance Mexico, not in the US for some reason where I purchased the policy. Process was ridiculous for $125 dollars. E-mail upon E-mail.
Finally they processed my claim and were ready to send me the money. Gave them my credit union information. They said they only deposit in bank accounts. After some back and forth they noted they would direct deposit to my account. After waiting for the deposit I checked back in several times to see when the money would be deposited. I was then notified that they sent my claim into further review and were no longer going to pay. It appears that they attempted to manipulate the policy wording. Allianz Trip Insurance has been the most frustrating and unprofessional experience I’ve ever dealt with. When my family needed them, they failed miserably. It took them forever to process our claim, leaving us stressed and uncertain during an already difficult time. But the nightmare didn’t end there. After finally approving the claim, they managed to send the payment to the wrong address, despite being provided with the correct information multiple times. How can a company that claims to provide peace of mind be so careless and incompetent?
Their customer service was no better. We were given the runaround, had to deal with unhelpful and rude representatives, and supervisors who seemed indifferent to the urgency of our situation. The entire process was a mess from start to finish. Allianz Trip Insurance is a waste of time and money. They might eventually pay out, but the stress and hassle are not worth it. If you’re considering Allianz, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Don’t make the same mistake we did!

This company is utterly unreliable and does not live up to its promises. I purchased travel insurance through Marriott Bonvoy, expecting a high level of reliability given Marriott's reputation. Unfortunately, I discovered that the service was disorganized and provided inconsistent answers to the same questions. The claims process was difficult from the start, and despite having all necessary documentation, they refused to cover my expenses from a Delta flight cancellation on July 22. They mistakenly attributed the cancellation to an unrelated Microsoft outage on July 19. My repeated attempts to escalate the issue to a supervisor were met with excuses that they were too busy. Overall, their customer service is unprofessional and unhelpful. I strongly recommend avoiding this travel insurance.

Allianz Global Assistance Review. I purchased the AllTrips Premier Plan from Allianz Global Assistance in July 2023, believing it would provide peace of mind during my travels. Unfortunately, my experience with Allianz has been nothing short of a nightmare. In April 2024, my rental car was stolen and vandalized during a trip to Atlanta. I promptly filed a claim, providing all necessary documentation, including proof that the car was not personally owned. Despite this, Allianz repeatedly denied my claim, citing various unsubstantiated reasons. Their customer service representatives were unhelpful and even disrespectful.
The claims process has been agonizingly slow, with constant delays and shifting explanations for the denial. This has caused me significant financial hardship, as I've had to cover expenses out of pocket and postpone my return home. Allianz's actions demonstrate a clear lack of transparency, integrity, and respect for their customers. I strongly advise against purchasing any insurance products from this company. Their claims process is convoluted, their customer service is appalling, and their commitment to honoring their policies is questionable at best. Just getting sick isn't really covered, you have to go to the doctor and get a doctor's note and file a claim with that note, and the company may reject the claim. The representative I spoke with, Marta, did not demonstrate the level of empathy or assistance I had hoped for in such circumstances. She was cold, dismissive, not compassionate, and very unhelpful.
The denial was particularly frustrating given the unexpected nature of the situation. Just days before our planned trip, my daughter and granddaughters, who were meant to accompany us, received legal notice preventing her from traveling due to pending issues. Despite providing documentation from her attorney outlining this restriction, the claim was rejected on the grounds that she was not scheduled to appear in court during the travel dates.
This decision seemed contradictory to the policy's coverage for sudden canceled trip reasons and odd for the sole situation where travelers are legally obligated to attend court proceedings during their trip; but not a direct order from a judge stating no travel? Despite the court's order prohibiting travel, Allianz deemed this insufficient grounds for reimbursement. This interpretation left me questioning the purpose of insurance if such circumstances aren't covered. This also means that for no other legal reason, other than a person having a court date, would this policy apply; which seems quite ridiculous to me. This seems to be the same type of situation as if a doctor wrote a note and stated a travel could not travel.
When I expressed my frustrations and concerns to Marta and inquired about speaking to a claims adjuster or manager, her response lacked the professionalism and sensitivity I had hoped for. (Basically, rude, talked over me, and continued to just say the same thing over and over giving no solutions other than to appeal the claim.) While she did mention the option to appeal the decision, her dismissive attitude and discouragement of doing so left me feeling disheartened. She basically told me the claim would be denied again.
Then she told me the only way to get my claim approved was to submit new documentation for a different reason that might fit in line with their coverage guidelines, which left me feeling even more frustrated and quite uncomfortable. It seemed to imply that I should just fabricate or manipulate information to meet their criteria, which seems basically fraudulent and goes against my principles of honesty and integrity.
While I acknowledge that insurance policies have their limitations and criteria for claims, I can't help but feel that Allianz's approach to this situation reflects a broader issue. It seems that the company is adept at finding ways to avoid fair payouts to customers, operating in a manner that feels unjust and unfair. This experience has left me questioning the integrity of their practices and their commitment to treating customers fairly and transparently. In summary, Allianz has left me feeling VERY dissatisfied and questioning the honesty of the company and adequacy of their coverage and customer service. Actually, the customer service is just poor. If it was possible I would give this company a zero star rating.

We have been asked to review our experience: Our Holy Land Trip scheduled for January 2024 was cancelled secondary to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict which broke out in October 2023. When I tried to cancel my trip insurance, I was informed that the rates were not reimbursable and I had 770 days to use it (by September 16, 2025) or it would be lost! Not a good way to build a business following. We already have a trip to Greece in June 2024 insured by them… Will consider other options next time!

I will NEVER use this service again. I feel sorry for the people who will mistakenly select on it when booking flights because it's the default travel insurance for Alaska Airlines. DO NOT use them. It has been over a month. My flight was cancelled by the airline, and I was under the impression the claim would be easy to receive, yet it has been a nightmare. From having to provide extra documentation by calling the airlines to create a note, having my check void, to the trouble of choosing a payment method, I have yet to receive my money, and at this point I just have to give up. Over 700 hundred dollars, GONE. The customer service agents put you through hoops just to get you to someone who could "maybe" help just for you to end up in the same place when you started. I am too upset to even write more, but if it is not clear, I DO NOT recommend this service one bit.

I have used this company for years, for travel and for expensive purchases such as reservations. When it came to filing my first claim I sorely found out that they would not be able to help me with my claim. What happened was I purchased tickets from a ticketsales.com and picked a specific date. While scrolling through seats I found the ones I wanted and purchased the tickets. What I didn't see was that as I was reviewing available seats the date changed and I was unaware. I figured it would be okay since I purchased insurance and immediately contacted ticketsales.com about the glitch in their system. They admitted to the glitch but since I purchased insurance I would have to go through them for the claim.
It's been a horrible experience as I have been back and forth with service agents who will not help me. I have asked to speak to a manager and it's now been over 2 weeks and still haven't been contacted. It's not about the money, but about the principle as when you purchase insurance and they say they will help you in case of an emergency, but then don't do so is frustrating. I am willing to share all email correspondences with anyone interested to share how they handled it, the hidden things in their terms and conditions, and timeline for all points of communication.

Planning a cruise for summer of 2024, and booked airfare on American Airlines. Thought we would splurge, and went with Business Class Air at a cost of $4200 per person. We also purchased Allianz insurance for the flight, as anything could happen, right? Azamara cancelled the cruise as the ship was scheduled for dry dock and would take longer than expected so our cruise was cancelled. American Airlines refunded $3800 per person, so I filed a claim with Allianz. It was denied, as they said they do not cover for mechanical issues. The appeal was also denied.
If you have ever purchased airfare from American Airlines, at the bottom before purchasing they have a note that says please insure, or don't but face the risk of getting no money back in the case of cancellation. Well, we fell for it, and since we paid over $1,000 for the insurance, plus the $900 that wouldn't be honored by Allianz, I feel like we got totally ripped off. Our trip to Costa Rica was aborted. Even though our flight from Sacramento was delayed 39 minutes, we got to the Delta counter in time to check bags and board... But the plane apparently was preparing to leave. Our tickets booked in July read 12:55 am. The departure time on display indicated 11:55pm. (I suspect the booking agent did not adjust for daylight saving time.) The airline could offer a direct flight in 48hrs for $300 more per passenger. I had the Allianz phone number with my travel papers. A recording of multiple prompts directs the customer to the website. How convenient is that? Connecting with a live rep., I was told a delay had to be a minimum of 5 hours. The evidence provided to Allianz has been rejected, claim denied.
This company has as many loopholes as the dollars one invests in their insurance. It seems the purchase of their "product" simply applies toward their fraudulent business model. I was injured halfway through an overseas trip and we were flown home early. I filed my claim and was informed I did not have all the necessary documentation. We refiled our claim via email as instructed. I called Allianz several times, received conflicting information on what I needed to file for my claim and where to send it. We sent documents with all receipts, credit card statements and bank statements. They could see that on their side. Still, that wasn't enough.
We scheduled call backs that never happened. They finally paid our medical claim for costs of my ER visit. Then they closed our claim for trip interruption. We refiled our documents on the website 3 times in September and they needed more information. I finally went to AAA to talk to them. AAA called Allianz and found out they had attached my claim for trip interruption for and overseas trip to a trip I had insured with Allianz to Hawaii 6 months prior to the trip I fell on. I received a call from Allianz 15 hours after AAA called on my behalf.
I spoke with someone who I believe was a manager. We talked about the documents I had uploaded, she agreed I had everything needed and Allianz cut a check the NEXT DAY. I received full payment one week later. I can see how lucky I am to have received payment on my claim. I know that having AAA call Allianz is the only reason our claim was paid. I am writing to formally register a complaint against Allianz Travel Insurance, which has been our trusted provider for many years. My wife and I have consistently purchased their travel insurance policies whenever we embark on a trip to ensure peace of mind and protection against unforeseen circumstances. However, our recent experience with Allianz has left us deeply dissatisfied and concerned about the quality of their service.
On June 4, 2023, we embarked on a journey from LAX to London with a connection in Dallas. Unfortunately, our flight was canceled, causing a significant disruption to our travel plans. This unexpected cancellation resulted in us being stranded in Dallas on June 4th. We finally arrived in London on June 6th, only to discover that our seat reservations for the train from London to Brussels had been canceled, further prolonging our travel delay. Consequently, we were forced to stay an extra night in London on June 6th.
The chain of events that unfolded during this trip had a domino effect on our accommodations in Brussels and Amsterdam, which were non-refundable and subsequently canceled due to our no-show. This situation added to our financial burden, as we had to cover additional hotel expenses in London and the cost of alternative transportation to Brussels and Amsterdam.
The total expenses incurred, including hotel stays, missed connections, taxi fares, and meals, exceeded $2,000. Given our trust in Allianz and our belief that our travel insurance policy covered trip interruption and related expenses, we submitted a claim for reimbursement. However, to our utter disappointment, Allianz compensated us a mere $300 without providing any explanation or itemization of how this amount was calculated. This inadequate compensation has not only left us facing a significant financial setback but has also eroded our faith in Allianz's commitment to their policyholders. Despite our attempts to seek clarification and resolution through Allianz's customer service, our inquiries have remained unanswered.

Allianz no longer offers long term care insurance, but they liked the premiums that people were paying of $4,000 annually so they retained a small skeleton crew to service the existing customer base and just not enroll any new customers. Their skeleton crew that services the long term care insurance must be the most stupid group of people I've ever dealt with. It's like they hope that if they feed you bits and pieces of information about what forms are needed to file a claim that eventually you'll just get tired of it and give up on it and pay $6,000 a month for a care facility for your loved one.
Unfortunately for them that's too much money to become frustrated with paperwork and give up on, so eventually you can get them to pay it out but only after 30 phone calls, 75 form submissions, and 100 emails that they claim they don't receive over and over again until you refuse to get off the phone until they have the email in front of them. Unfortunately, they don't give a ** about their reputation (hence the reviews already listed) or their customers and they'll continue to bend their customers over until their reputation is so bad that no one uses them and they go out of business (pray that's sooner than later).

There is something deeply wrong with Allianz insurance. I filed a claim to get a refund on my $37 concert tickets after I totalled my car. The accident left me without a rental, a burned hand and no future vehicle. This put me in a horrible position for attending a concert a week later. Because the accident did not happen 24 hours before the show, I was denied the claim. It didn't matter that I was emotionally unstable after the accident, lost my vehicle entirely. They said to send in an appeal and when I tried no one would guide me in filing the appeal. I wrote to customer service and they responded asking for my information but never wrote back.
I decided that it was not worth it to get the claim filed because clearly totalling my car was not enough for them. I asked for them to at least refund me for future policies purchased, but even a supervisor said to me that because they are legal documents they cannot be cancelled. $35 of insurance paid for 3 future concerts and they would not refund me after my bad experience with the first claim. Andres said to me: “there is not an option if you see it with my eyes, it's more than the 15 business days, if this is not useful for you, then I respect it, but I do not see a reason for continuing this call”.
Andres said he understood empathy but assumed that because I was upset I did not want to listen to him. But really it makes no sense to me how difficult it would be to get a refund for a $37 concert ticket and a refund for useless policies for $35. I know this is NOTHING for them but it is a big deal to me after I lost my car. Allianz is a rip off. Finally, on June 30th, the online update showed a check had been mailed. I waited 10 business days before calling again because I did not receive the check and was told I needed to give it another week.
I gave it a total of 16 business days and called again. I was told they needed to stop payment on the check immediately, and I would receive a link within the hour to allow me to have the reimbursement put into my checking account (they never gave me this option before today). I waited four hours and never received the link. I called back to customer service and was "disconnected three times". The fourth time I was told it would actually take 72 business hours before they could cancel the check and then I would be receiving a link to get the money. We purchased the Alltrips Premier Plan travel insurance for our trip to Iceland. Read the policy very clearly before purchasing. It was complete waste of money, they covered nothing and the policy cost us over $1,000.00. Our first flight was delayed by 4 hours which resulted in us missing our next flight. We called the 800 number and they were no help finding us new flights. We had left 3.5 hours between our flights, plenty of time however the plan only covers delays if they are over 6 hours. 6+ hour layovers are not common and nowhere in the policy does it require connection flights to be that long. We lost an entire day of our vacation and spent a significant sum rebooking 2 flights to get there.
So we submitted for travel delay coverage thinking this should cover something... We were required to get a letter for cause from Jet Blue.. It was delayed officially due to late arrival of equipment. They denied our claim because that isn't a valid reason. However our policy states, a travel carrier delay. The agent on the phone could not tell me where it states late arrival of equipment was excluded, they do not allow you to have your claim reexamined, it is just closed.
From my policy: "The delay must be for at least the Minimum Required Delay listed on your Declarations and due to one of the following covered reasons:1. A travel carrier delay".

I had to call them twice a week for several weeks until I finally spoke to a manager. When I did provide the letter it took another couple weeks for them to review and pay the claim. I made a refund request on April 6th and received an auto-template response 2.5 months later on June 23rd saying that they had no record of my claim. (Mind you, this is after the event had already passed.) Do not buy ticket insurance through Allianz.

I took out Allianz travel insurance for myself and my family for a 7-day cruise. Unfortunately on the cruise I broke my wrist which required surgery. Since the cruise medical staff deemed the surgery non-emergency, it was scheduled for when I returned from the cruise. Due to the injury and subsequent surgery I incurred significant out of pocket medical costs. I submitted a claim with Allianz travel insurance since the injury occurred during my covered period. However they denied my claim since the medical expenses I incurred were not incurred during the cruise or "covered period." Allianz will ONLY cover your out of pocket expenses incurred during the covered period, which is the time period of the cruise. This is despite the fact that the injury clearly occurred during the covered period.
I had no way of having my surgery during the cruise. Logically, the surgery took place shortly after returning from my cruise. Allianz denied the claim. Most travel agents are not aware of this policy exclusion from Allianz Travel Insurance. We will never take out another insurance policy from Allianz. Allianz was happy to take our insurance premium and deny our legitimate claim that occurred during the covered period.

Allianz insurance is the worst. They don’t do their best to help you at all. It’s such a scam. Never, never buy insurance plans from them. You will regret it. I know I do. Worst experience of my life…. Please don’t buy
