When hurricane Harvey hit, I needed to cancel my flight. United Airlines would only offer to change my flight date. This didn't work, due to unsafe travel in Texas. Unlike the airlines, Allianz made the refund process easy and painless. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who plans to purchase an airline ticket.

Allianz was great. I submitted my claim after a small accident in a rental car and the full reimbursement was put into my bank account within a couple of weeks. I will always use Allianz for my rental car insurance! :)

My travel plans were cancelled due to an illness. I filed a claim with Allianz to be reimbursed for my airline ticket. The claim process was very easy with a short turnaround for approval. I would recommend using Allianz to insure your travel plans.

A business meeting was planned for Austin, TX for over a year but the hurricane won out over $20,000 attendees. I travel extensively but this is the first time to file a claim and I was very apprehensive. I should never have worried as everyone I dealt with could not have been nicer or more professional. Very happy with service. Our flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Harvey which resulted in some nonrefundable hotel costs. Allianz settled it within the 10 business days promised. Happy with the outcome. Would use again if future travel plans dictate to.

Incredibly amazing! I submitted the claim and all necessary documentation online and Allianz did the rest. In about two weeks I had a settlement. I have always purchased the travel insurance, and will continue to do so. It is well worth it.

My family was planning on a trip to Florida and we wanted a halfway stop on the drive down so we found a hotel and used Priceline to book the hotel rooms. I decided to opt for the trip insurance and I am glad that I did! Hurricane Irma came through and changed our plans and we had to cancel. I went online submitted a claim, and in a day or so (maybe less) I revived a claim package. Most of the forms were pre-printed and I just had to provide a couple receipts and then I faxed it to the Allianz 800 number they provided and within a day I got another email saying they received my forms and were reviewing my claim. Shortly thereafter got another email saying my claim was approved and my refund was already deposited. Very easy process.

First of all, I highly recommend Allianz for everyone. I first used them for clients when I was a Travel Agent. I've used them for myself at least 20 times. Their prices are very fair. What's even better is their customer service and the speed at which they settle claims. I've had claims a couple of times, and the process was incredibly easy. Well worth it!

Allianz promptly refunded my hotel cost for a trip cancelled due to the hurricane. I appreciate the smooth and quick response. Online form submission was also fairly easy, though it could be streamlined and the choices could be clarified a bit.

Filed claim. I didn't get the money back that I lost, so it covered just a little bit... Thought it would help me out, but it didn't. I was on the tarmac for 6 hours! And didn't get compensated for EU laws. It's just disappointing when you pay extra for insurance and it doesn't come through.

I recently had to rely on this policy, on account of my travel being prevented by Hurricane "Irma". After filing my claim online and submitting my information with it (which was guided by clear and succinct instructions provided on the website), I received return contact within hours and further contact within days. Without further "hoops to jump through", as so often is the case in such matters, I was notified of my claim being accepted and payment, in accordance with policy terms, was being processed to me. I have spent my working career in the insurance field and I find this level of claim handling to be SUPERB; this level of customer service and contact to be UNSURPASSED!

I purchased travel insurance for a trip my husband and I had planned to Barbados. On the day prior to our departure, my brother had to have surgery. I called Allianz and explained to them that I could not take the trip. They clearly explained to me what I needed to do. I did everything from their website, sent in a document signed by my brother’s doctor, and within about 10 days we had a full refund for both flights. Luckily, I was able to cancel the hotel without penalty. I would definitely use their services again.

I had great service on the phone when I called to ask a question. The service representative also allowed me to start my claim over the phone instead of having to do it online. The cost of the policy was affordable and it was easy to understand when I read it. There was very timely communication via email. Thanks for all of the help! I always purchase travel insurance from Allianz when I fly just in case something unforeseen happens. Before our most recent trip my wife became terribly ill and couldn't leave home so I travelled alone and cancelled her reservation with airline incurring a $200 fee. After returning home I have tried to contact Allianz numerous times to file a claim. Their phone message directs you to the claims website which doesn't work or accept your submittal. You can't get a message in or a live person on the line so how can you conduct business with them. They ARE quick to accept your money when you want their insurance. They will never get another nickel out of me again and I WILL be sure to spread the word. And I don't believe those other 5 star ratings. They come across as fake.

We always insure our trips with Allianz. In a recent trip, my companion became ill. A doctor was called, & medication was prescribed. Upon our return home, I contacted Allianz. I spoke to one of your reps, George, who was very helpful. I explained what happened. He immediately emailed the forms we would need to complete in order to get reimbursement. We were informed what steps would be taken. We received reimbursement very quickly. We are very pleased with the service we received, & will continue to insure our trips with Allianz.

We unfortunately had a missed connection due to mechanical problems with our aircraft. This was very disappointing on our first day of vacation. Lucky for us, we had purchased travel insurance with Allianz, really more to insure our trip if we had to cancel. Never really thinking we could miss a connection. We are so glad we did and the online process to file a claim is user friendly. We received our reimbursement for our expenses relates to our missed connection with 10 days after filing our claim using the direct deposit option. I will certainly use Allianz again, especially if we have another overseas vacation. Thank you!

I purchased this form of insurance to travel abroad. However, I was laid off the week of my trip and then became displaced by Hurricane Irma. My original claim was denied, even though I provided the appropriate paperwork from my ex-employer. Then I explained couldn't travel due to Hurricane Irma, they ** laughed at me. They insisted that you could of had extended stay then catch a flight when hurricane goes away, lmao. I wouldn't recommend this POS company to anyone, if you check their reviews they screw everyone over, even those who follow the rules. Use someone else, this company sucks **. I had to get a lawyer and file a claim with the State Attorney of Florida! THEY ARE DENYING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE, STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!

I bought my travel insurance from Allianz Global Insurance here in USA but I was able to use it in Manila, Philippines. On June 29, 2017, while in Manila I was diagnosed of Pulmonary infection in a local hospital and was confined until July 2, 2017. When I got back here in USA, I filed a medical claim with Allianz Global Assistance Insurance and it took only two (2) weeks for them to refund my claim.

Two days after I purchased my non-refundable airline tickets & travel insurance, I stepped in a 6 foot hole and ended up in hospital with 15 breaks in my right leg. Totally unable to travel. I filed the claim when I got out of the hospital which made it pending. When my next Dr. appt, I had Dr. complete the Physician form. Came home and uploaded to my claim. Within a few days my claim was paid and money auto deposited to my bank account.

I had rented a car for the holiday weekend, while out of town I received a flat tire. I asked the rental company did I need to file a claim with insurance and was told NO. Two months later there was a charge on my account for the tire. I contacted Allianz and they took care of it immediately and refunded my account the charge for the tire. I've never gotten such a fast response from any other insurance company before and I'm thankful they was there even two months after the incident.

I had to make a claim on my flight policy after I had medical issues and could not go as planned. I work in IT and sometimes equipment goes down and I have come in on the weekend for emergencies. Unfortunately, this happen on the weekend that I purchased tickets on. I purchased insurance for situations like this and this is my first ever having to file a claim on "Event Tickets". All the documents required was submitted and they stated it'll take 10 businesses days. I have not heard anything via email on status but have checked on the website and shown that docs were being reviewed so on the 17th "Business" day, I decided to call and "Jeff" put me on hold and then stated that they need more documents.
I stated to him that, "You have all the documents stated on site that was needed." If I knew that this was going to a disaster I would have given the tickets away but I thought by having insurance I would be covered. Note to self - Never purchase insurance on Event tickets and never use Allianz "Scam" Global (When it come to Event ticket insurance at least).

I give them 0!!! Purchased insurance for two sports events tickets in which said, "If you can't make it, you get a refund." The next day my grandfather passed and because I'm Jewish we mourn for seven days. I called to say I couldn't go and they wouldn't consider any type of refund unless I had a death certificate. The game was in 3 days and a death certificate won't be received from 7-10 business days. Even with that they can't promise my refund. I cannot just ask my grandmother for his death certificate to get a refund for two tickets. It's disgusting days after he's passed. While they still may not give me money back if I don't go to the event. Disgusting.

I was pleased, when I became unexpectedly sick, that my flight insurance actually reimbursed me. The timeline was reasonable, and it took a lot of pressure off during a highly stressful time. My daughter went to Cusco, Peru for a month this summer and became ill. She went to a medical clinic there and I filed a claim for the $360 it cost. They sent me a check right away no questions asked, I did give them a lot of documentation paperwork. I had to file with our primary insurance company Blue Cross first and was denied by them. Our child of 10 years old suffers from extreme anxiety and depression. She had a major event and we were not able to travel and leave her with grandparents. We had medical forms filled out by physicians and the claims were denied. I will be contacting local radio and TV station as well as contacting the better business bureau. If I do not receive a resolution I will contact a lawyer and solve this in small claims courts.

I'm so glad I paid for the Insurance when I purchased my Airline tickets, in the past I had never done this, but I'm very grateful I did. I had a freak accident and broke my fibula bone a week before my flight and my Dr. wouldn't let me fly, due to the fact that I could possible have a blood clot during the flight. I was heartbroken. I called Allianz immediately and they were very kind, and told me what I needed to provide to get my flight refunded. I couldn't ask for better customer service. Have incurred medical expenses abroad. Have filed a claim since May of 2017 and no decision has been made. I have submitted all the requested documents 5 times and a decision still not being made. This company will not pay for your medical expenses even if your trip was covered. I would warn anybody to stay away from this company because they will not honor their policy. I have called and emails millions times and nothing is being done. Please do not buy any insurance from this company.

Claim process was fairly easy. Claim form indicated clearly what was required to file the claim. Once I sent the claims in, I was notified that it was being reviewed about a week after I sent it in. Once the claim was accepted, I had my money via direct deposit in about 5 days.

I purchased a travel insurance coverage and when I have problems Global Alliance denied my claim or assistance. They told me I'm not cover under their policy. Typically I have delay with my airline twice and I called them once that's what I got. I always purchase the insurance with any ticket I bought either domestic or international but I never call them until last time I have an issue. Please for anyone who willing to purchase insurance from this company, let them put everything on writing otherwise you will be stranded or regret of getting insurance. This scam by trick.

After I went through all the forms and collected all the evidence and bills. I received a decision of approval. I was told to wait 5-10 days for the check, but it never came. Allianz came through with flying colors! Our return flight, as well as many flights, from Boston was canceled due to weather. Allianz reimbursed us for meals and hotel expenses while we were rebooked for 2 days later. Their online claim form was easy, and their staff were always responsive within 24 hours of submitting an email. I've always used Allianz and will continue to use them. My wife and I had booked an early August cruise to Norway out of Amsterdam including airfare with Holland American Lines in March. In late May I experienced a herniated disc. None of the traditional remedies seemed to work and I was scheduled for back surgery in early August. Our travel agent had recommended Allianz over other alternatives and we are certainly glad we listened to her.
Once the surgery was scheduled, our agent canceled the cruise and requested the claim forms from Allianz. We carefully reviewed the insurance policy, filled out the easy-to-understand forms, received and provided letters from our medical providers, and provided the other documentation requested. In a few weeks – well within their stated timeline – Allianz sent a check for the full fare less the partial refund we had already received from Holland America upon cancellation. The only thing left was the fee paid for the insurance.
We were very impressed and appreciated the prompt assistance at a difficult time. As a side note, Hotels.Com was most helpful in canceling non-refundable hotel reservations in Amsterdam and Chicago. Delta Airlines, also allowed us to cancel our flights to and from Chicago and returned all of our frequent flyer miles to our account. Many thanks to all.

Due to unexpected illness on my husband's part we were unable to travel. Luckily I had taken out travel insurance and called Allianz. They could not have been more helpful. I was able to download all the documents - was given some good advice i.e. make sure to put the claim number on each page for instance. Sent off the claim and within a week a check was posted to my account. First class service all the way. I could not say better! Thank you Allianz!

Due to a medical issue we had to cancel a cruise and flights. Both were insured with Allianz. I've never had to use trip insurance before and was prepared for a lot of red tape and negotiating. It was a snap. The phone representatives were extremely helpful in guiding me through the process. I was able to handle everything via email by scanning required documentation. Checking the website informed me of the status of the claim. In a very short period of time I received my refunds. I highly recommend Allianz and will be using them for all future travel.

Received excellent instructions on how to file when I phoned and talked to the representative. The filing packet was emailed immediately as a PDF. As a result I could fill out the forms and drop the medical portion off at the doctor's office in a timely manner. The forms were emailed and I had the trip cancellation check within 2 weeks. I appreciated the quick accurate response to my dilemma, then I received a check, I deposited it and 3 days later I got a letter from Allianz saying, "Don't deposit the check because it will bounce; we will send a 2nd check EARLY next week to cover the 1st check and any charges your bank charged you for a returned check if you already deposited it." Although this was appreciated it's already Friday and still no check. Life is too short to have to spend time and energy on this kind of thing, just do the right thing by people.

I purchased an insurance policy before I traveled overseas. I was concerned after hearing stories of lost luggage, items stolen from hotel rooms and pick pockets and decided to get a policy a few days before we were to travel. Little did I know that my best friend whom I was traveling with would have a major cardiac event the day before our trip was to begin. It took several weeks and a few emails to clarify that it was a medical emergency but I received a full reimbursement of our plane fare. Since we were staying with friends I didn't need to submit hotel expenses so I have no comment on luggage coverage. Just be sure to read the policy and know exactly what is covered and how to properly submit a claim. They are strict in their claim department and rightfully so. I would definitely recommend Allianz and will use them for future travel peace of mind.

I purchased insurance for my trip to Atlanta GA, from Detroit on July 23rd and I had to file a claim against my policy due to a illness that was emergency and could not travel to Atlanta on the date I was suppose to. We were delayed for several hours in Paris, France when trying to return home. The terminal was shut down because of a suspicious package, and everything was pushed back for hours. We had to purchase a lot of extra food, snacks, and almost had to purchase lodging. When we finally got home we contacted Allianz about our delay and sent over our documentation, and they took care of everything right away. I would definitely recommend for a friend!

So we had a trip planned to Jost Van Dyke at the end of October. We had booked our flight through Delta and destination was landing in St. Thomas and then ferry to the BVI. Of course with Hurricane Irma, our resort suffered damage which left us without a place to stay. With there being approximately 41 million sq. miles of ocean on the Atlantic side and the Caribbean Islands making up only about 1 million sq. miles AND the eye of a hurricane completely destroys the majority of our destination, we felt compelled to just cancel our plans and seek out other options.
I filed my reimbursement form and was quickly sent an email requesting 'additional documentation'. I quickly responded with 'turn on the news media'. At that point I figured it would be best to call. After speaking with 'Pueblo'... I was informed that on line item 14 of your policy that natural disasters including hurricanes, floods, fires or earthquakes are excluded from reimbursement. Boy, what an amazing travel insurance policy!! They've insured me that I won't be purchasing it again!!

My husband and I had booked a trip a year in advance to the Grand Canyon. A month before we were to leave I broke my shoulder. My Doctor told me I should not go. I have always insured our trips with Allianz but never had to use them. When I called them and told them what happened they were very helpful. Submitted claim online and overall experience was good. Received an additional supporting document request the next day. The list of documents was generic and too general and requires the customer to select what additional documents are being submitted. The list itself was very confusing as some items appeared to apply, but others did not. Had to call to get specifics. Why not define specifics during initial claim submission process and not waste both our time. Excellent customer service though. Very responsive and friendly.

Nice people on the phone and seemingly competent but our first claim was denied due to lack of documentation even though everything was included. On appeal was paid the maximum for one claimant $350. (I did not realize there was such a low maximum when I bought the coverage. Will be more careful next time.) That amount was more than the trip cost for one of us but less than the two of us paid.
Phoned and were told we needed to make it clear two people were claiming. We emailed (try number three) and finally got the rest of our claim. Summary - our claim was paid but we are struggling with a cancer diagnosis (the reason for the claim) and having to deal with this three times was not what we needed. Would not recommend Allianz.

My wife injured her knee so was unable to travel as scheduled. We appreciated the response of Allianz - they gave clear instructions for filing a claim and processed it within a few weeks, delivering a check within 6 weeks of the missed flight. We had considered not getting trip insurance, but this certainly was a real benefit to us. We had non-refundable ticket that could have rescheduled (for a fee), but as she is still recovering, there is a possibility that we would not have been able to fly again before the opportunity to reschedule had passed.

Claim for hotel and food from cancelled flight. There were no instructions on filing a claim. What showed was Canada company that did not handle USA claims. After several states attempts finally went to address in USA. Claim was approved finally but when your check was issued it bounced at my bank incurring myself additional fees besides what was debited from the account. To date you have not made good on the check or the extra bank fees...

In general, very pleased with my experience. However, this policy runs through my Auto Club membership and it was very difficult to secure the proper information to actually file a claim. Took a lot of effort on my part, including making a visit to an Auto Club office, in Arizona, to figure out how to go about make a trip interruption claim. This needs to be easier. Was very frustrating and time consuming.

Repeated emails have not addressed my issues; instead I get copies of the original letter, requests for documentation that has already been sent, etc. We are talking about a small sum here; most of the claim was paid after only one follow-up. What this company has done to my family is CRIMINAL. Rene ** (the "policy holder") has AIDS. He has been in asleep ever since we went to get that document notarized to have the funds in my account, Unable to fly our mother for his funeral. Still waiting for funds. We also have a BBB case, because we've done everything you've told us to do. And yet we still do not have any funds not even a phone call. Absolutely the worst company I've ever dealt with.
When I purchased this they said the money would go back to ME, Filippe **, and now it's this huge confusion. You guys mailed out a check and said it will be ten days until it is VOIDED??? It's been over 2 weeks, and you guys mailed a check for Rene it to the wrong address, and we stated WE DIDNT WANT A CHECK. Instead of just sending a check you should give us a courtesy call to let us know what's going on. I am also sending this the BBB. I do have a case against this company, need our money LAST WEEK. My daughter broke her finger, which required surgery, 2 days before our scheduled trip to New Jersey. The representatives at Allianz helped me tremendously through the whole process, while I took care of my disappointed 10-year-old in a her cast. I was completely satisfied with the resolution of my claim. We were reimbursed almost all (less $0.02) of our claim. We supplied all of the receipts for our additional expenses for trip interruption and delay, and supplied an explanation of the reason for the additional cost (followed the rules of making the claim). A few days later I could not get a claim status online and the lady was very helpful to give me the status and said we should be hearing something soon on the final resolution. A few more days later I got an email that said I would be getting checks in the mail and a couple of days later got an explanation of the resolution.

Your online site is a good concept but it's missing a couple of things. I'm an experienced programmer so I could figure out your flaws and get around them. For example your site does not accept our zip code as being valid which is a basic need and nothing but 'error' and no messages otherwise. Error on file types etc. again no message to help someone understand. After all is uploaded, your progress is extremely slow and the status is just useless but it does leave you without commitment to customers for your actions and decisions. Good luck in the future. I am extremely unhappy with the way I have been dealt with by Allianz. I had to cancel my trip due to medical reasons. I had booked two, one way fares for myself and my wife. I have been reimbursed for the return part of the trip, but for reasons I do not understand, my claim for the first part of the trip has been denied. I have been told it is because of the "existing medical conditions". I have produced 2 letters from my physician which proved that her medical condition changed completely (from a simple sprain to fractured bone). I have spent hours of my time on the phone and emails with you guys and I still have not succeeded. Again, I would like to appeal for review of my claim. Appreciate any help I can get at this point.

Once submitted, the claim was paid quickly, only 4 stars because of the amount of information required. I had a bad accident and was in the hospital 4 days, they wanted all of the records which takes forever to get from a hospital which made it take longer than it could have for such a small claim.

Just wanted to say the experience with Allianz has been a very positive one. From getting the travel insurance before the trip and then the claim process was easy. I wish we didn't have to file a claim but it's peace of mind to know if we have to, the process is not too bad. My wife and I will be more inclined to get Travel Insurance from Allianz on our future trips.

At the time purchase I believed the insurance was unconditional. As it turned out, I had to prove a temporary disability via a doctor's note which resulted in a loss of time. I consider this a significant misrepresentation. The two stars represents the fact that the premium was returned. I expected less.

I purchased the insurance thinking possibly the two older travelers could have an issue and instead the 22 year old got sick and had to cut her part of the trip short. The person who applied is the person you were directing everything to even though I was the person who had the claim. The check came to my address in her name. I ended up having to call a few times. I had a very out-of-the-ordinary claim that occurred in a very remote area in Greenland. Even though the conditions of the claim vaguely fit into the definitions, Allianz paid the claim with no questions asked. Easy communication line with what needed to be returned, had some troubles with them saying I did not have a policy number when they checked multiple times and then realized I did have a policy number. Unable to get reimbursed for the entire flight that we had purchased, which is the whole reason we purchased travelers insurance for if a situation like this had occurred, paid additional on top of the initial cost of what it was for the flight in the first place.

Paid for my ticket b/c in hospital but did not pay parents air. I am very disappointed in Allianz because the purpose of the air on United was to see me graduate from Marine Base Camp. My parents and brother also booked and was told that if I did not graduate - their fare would be covered. It was not. Allianz did refund my ticket but denied my parents claim because it was not on the same booking which would have been impossible because I was already at Paris Island. Their claim # is **.

My boyfriend and I were going to travel from CA to ME at the end of May 2017 to visit my family he had never met. At the beginning of April 2017, I purchased two round trip tickets through Priceline: CA to ME was on JetBlue and ME to CA was on American Airlines. When I reached the end of the Priceline scheduling process I decided to purchase travel insurance for the tickets. By purchasing the travel insurance I mean I got to the area on the Priceline screen and selected the option/box to purchase the travel insurance; the tickets and the insurance were purchased during the same transaction. At the beginning of May 2017 my mother had an emergency surgery that resulted in the cancellation of the trip.
I contacted Priceline and Allianz Travel Insurance right away regarding the change in travel plans. Priceline was helpful from the start and provided excellent customer service. Allianz Travel Insurance on the other hand has been TERRIBLE. To this day (9/5/17) I am still attempting to get a full refund of my tickets. From the beginning, Allianz claimed the travel insurance that was purchased did not cover both legs of the trip (due to the cost being too low); instead they claimed the insurance package that was purchased was for a one way ticket therefore the insurance package only covered the flight going to ME. In May and June 2017 I spoke to several Allianz Travel Insurance customer service agents as well as followed up with management (after being told I would receive return calls and didn't).
I requested/conducted a 3 way call between Priceline and Allianz management in which Priceline confirmed I purchased round trip tickets and explained to the Allianz Travel Insurance staff member that they should uphold their full refund agreement. In addition, Priceline noted at the time of the call other Priceline customers have had problem with Allianz Travel Insurance properly reimbursing travel claims. However, appropriate action has not been taken on the part of Allianz Travel Insurance. Since June 2017 I have submitted a claim for reimbursement and attached several documents through the Allianz Travel Insurance portal to substantiate my claim. My mother's surgeon completed the medical portion of their claim process as well that supported the medical necessity/lack of previous medical hx.
Yet, on August 24, 2017, I received a notice that I would be reimbursed only part of the money I paid for the trip. Of the $1,375.76 we received a check for $791.16. Allianz Travel Insurance DID NOT includes additional information related to why the rest of the money has not been reimbursed. I will continue to fight this, as I believe Allianz Travel Insurance is taking advantage of me/its customers. I have submitted all the documentation they requested and then some to substantiate the claim. I expect a full refund. Until then, buyer beware!!!

When my American Airlines flight was cancelled due to weather conditions, I was forced to stay in NYC for two nights. I'm on my fourth or fifth round with this scam company. They make it sound nice and easy. I paid something like $15 to secure my $250 Delta Airlines ticket and seemingly a 102.7 degree fever due to cancer recovery from chemo and radiation doesn't seem qualifying for a reimbursement to them. Apparently I was supposed to get on the plane and die. That would be better for their bottom line... that's how insurance really works. I believe this final round will definitely have cost me more in bills with my oncologists than these ** owe me. INCREDIBLY DISSATISFIED!

It was a resolved partially. Since I purchased a layaway plan, the insurance provided to cover my tickets apparently covered only the first payment of my tickets. And when my layaway plan finished, my insurance didn't cover the remainder of my tickets. Doesn't make much sense but it happened. Wish I would have ready policy to policy and called in to make changes. Such a mistake on 2 companies this large should not occured. But it did. And didn't get a full claim for all my tickets. Thousands upon thousands of tickets sold on this site and insurance purchased on many of them and a mistake like this. I own my part due to my lack of reading my policy in detail. And Allianz took care of their part only after I complained about my initial claim payment being wrong. Fix these website problems. This shouldn't have happened in the first place. I will be doing business elsewhere, I should have sold my tickets and made the other 225 back that my insurance didn't "cover".

I purchased 2 2-day passes for hard summer music festival 2017 through Ticketmaster. I selected the option for insurance by Allianz Global Assistance to cover in case something happens. This was all done in one purchase. I picked 2 2 day tickets, and selected the only option for insurance in case of emergencies. At the bottom of my receipt it says my event is covered by Allianz. We were all set, or so we thought. So my fiance became pregnant, which was great news, but the nightmare arrived after our claim was submitted. The process was long, but we got it done. We got the paperwork proving she is pregnant and finished filing our claim. I sent in proof of my purchase of 2 x 2 day tickets, which totals out to 2 Saturday tickets and 2 Sunday tickets. That's a total of 4 tickets!
My claim comes back approved but it is apparent that they completely ignored my form and what I was claiming. I was approved for 136.36 for my total claim. I spent 391.35 for 2 x 2-day passes. I was told the policy covers each ticket up to 83.01. So if we did basic math, 2 Saturday and 2 Sunday tickets claimed up to the proper maximum amount of 83.01, totals out to 334.04. That is understandable due to the service fees from Ticketmaster not being refundable and I am ok with that. So I called to ask where my actual claim money was (because even after 2 weeks I still did not receive my "check") why I was only getting 136.36. I am supposed to be getting directly debited my claim. And that wasn't even done right. I called to ask where my check was, and they said it should have arrived. I told them since I didn't use it, to cancel the check and directly debit me. Which after 2 weeks still has not happened.
One thing to mention that is very ill important: they are claiming the policy I purchased through Ticketmaster only covers 2 tickets. I have purchased 2 2 day tickets, which totals out to 4 tickets. I would not have wasted my money on the insurance if I know I wouldn't be fully covered. Today is August 28th, I am still in frustratingly long wait times to get a hold of someone who can do something. After the rep who helped me got a hold of one of the claims adjusters (after 45 minute wait), my claim was finally reopened. And the rep basically said I will get a call tomorrow by the claims adjuster to talk about my claim. I told them the total claim doesn't add up at all, I could have easily sold my tickets through Ticketmaster and received more than what my claim would actually be.
I will continue to update this review as I get more info, but with my experience so far, Allianz will continue to receive a 1 star only because I could not give less than that. I want my full claim, I mailed in all 4 of my tickets instead of selling them. I wish I would have just sold them. I will not purchase from Allianz until they come to their senses and properly handle my claim and cover both 2 day passes for each ticket day.

My daughter caught a bad cold which forced me to cancel my business trip. Because she had a cold & cough she just needed rest and liquids; not a doctor's visit. When I informed Allianz of the problem - after waiting through a myriad of voice prompts, they let me know there was nothing they could do to help me because I hadn't taken her to the doctor. If I had taken to the doctor, or since it was sudden, the emergency room and incurred a $100 co-pay, I would have gotten my money back - which is why I bought the travel insurance. In the future, Priceline is great, but don't buy Allianz insurance. Unless you have a major life-threatening event - which you can document - the service is nothing more than a scam.

My wife and I planned a once in a lifetime trip to Hawaii in August and purchased main leg of our trip from Mainland to Oahu on 4/20/2017. We then decided in July that we wanted to see Maui as well so purchased tickets from Oahu to Maui and back including Allianz insurance around July 8. Our daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer in May, had a mastectomy in late May and started "red devil" chemo at the end of June. At the time of purchase of the Allianz insurance we knew about the cancer diagnosis, but thought that we would still be able to go on the once in a lifetime trip. The strength and commutative effects of the chemo made her very sick and unable to care for herself and 3 young children so we decided to completely cancel the trip.
I submitted a claim to Allianz that was rejected because they say that this was a pre existing condition that we knew about already. All this is true however we were not sure to the extent to which the chemo would affect her and felt we couldn't leave her and grandkids at this point. If I would have known all of their policies, I would have never purchased the insurance. Also if I would have known their policies that once you file a claim whether it is paid or not, there is no refunds for the insurance premium, I would have just cancelled the insurance to at least claim a bit of our hard earned money back. We will never be able to reschedule this trip due to finances and daughter's illness. I will never purchase insurance from this company again and recommend that anyone else never does either as they will find a way to not pay the claim you are entitled to.

For a trip to Paris, my wife decided to buy the optional airline trip insurance on the airline website since we were booking the flights several months in advance. The premium was around 5% or so of the cost of the three airline tickets. The flight to Paris went as planned but the last leg of the return flight was cancelled and the subsequent efforts to get us on another flight at another airport were botched by the airline leaving us stranded for the night with no financial assistance from the airline. We incurred additional expenses of nearly $400 to complete our return home. Our initial effort to file a claim on the Allianz website left my wife frustrated as it was a bit confusing to we inexperienced travelers. My wife, in frustration, was willing to eat the additional expense. We let the claim sit for a couple of weeks before I decided to follow through with submitting the claim.
Once I got into it, filing the claim was fairly simple - with advice from an Allianz customer service rep. Still, both my wife and I were a bit skeptical about the chances of getting reimbursement for the additional expenses but I thought it was worth trying. Allianz kept us informed on the claim's progress and, within a couple of weeks, we received noticed that our claim had been approved for payment. Every penny of the submitted claim was reimbursed to us by direct deposit shortly afterward. Needless to say, Allianz made believers out of a couple of skeptical novice travels.

I purchased an Amtrak ticket on March 5, 2017. The policy covers trip cancellation due to inclement weather, and while my Amtrak ticket was cancelled in entirety, with no offered substitute ticket or schedule, the insurance claim I submitted to Allianz was not honored. Either wrongfully or willfully I was denied monetary compensation that, according to Allianz' own written policy, I am owed. I am angry. I will never buy Allianz trip insurance again, and will make a point of telling my many friends who travel to avoid doing business with Allianz at all costs.

This was a clean airline ticket cancellation due to illness. I purchased the insurance on the Aer Lingus website at the time of booking. The Allianz policy requires documentation of payment of ticket either a receipt from airline or credit card statement. I promptly forward the airline emailed that stated on the first line: "This is your passenger itinerary and receipt email" which included the line "Payment VISA." They refused to accept it despite the clear language of their partner's (Aer Lingus) email. They stubbornly refused to accept that companies do not issue receipts for payment when they are not paid. Because of personal information security, I need to redact private information from credit card information before forwarding. Why do this when the requested documentation is obvious.
The issue of communication is also a problem. Although reaching a person by phone is good, they will not identify themselves other than their first name. I get not giving last names, but they would not give an employee ID. This makes it difficult when referencing prior conversations. When pressed, they will give a phone extension. Interesting, the person is not an examiner but a screener. Nice, but often hard to understand. After receiving a request for information that I had already provided, I contacted customer service. That person told me to ignore the email and that my claim was fine and that I should expect something the next Tuesday.
Three weeks later I get another email requesting information. When I called to point out the prior conversation, they asked who I talked to. I could only provide a first name (but I did have notes!). I later learned that the screener had all that information in front of them. A little disingenuous, eh? I booked a call back from an examiner at 10 AM the following day but received no call. Someone had called earlier, but I was not aware. This should not absolve them of their 10AM obligation. The claim is still open. I would not consider Allianz again and certainly not for a more complex trip.

Whenever I travel, I always purchase the optional insurance. However, until a recent incident it has always gone unused. Upon our return from vacation, I contacted Allianz to see if the emergency medical attention I received was covered under the policy we purchased. The agent I spoke to said that indeed it was and explained the process of submitting a claim. I was able to submit the claim and track its progress online. Within approximately 3 weeks, I received reimbursement for the entire amount of the bill we paid for the medical services I received. Travel without insurance is never an option.

I had to cancel a trip due to a badly infected burn. I promptly submitted all of the required documentation to Allianz. Despite their guarantee of a 10-day turn-around on claims, they are now, more than 3 weeks later, telling me that some of the submitted documents aren't in the correct format. Instead of emails from the vendors, they want old fashioned letters on company letterhead. (Never mind that all of the company information was prominently displayed on the emails I submitted. Never mind that nothing in the claim instructions specified a particular format. And never mind that Allianz conducts all of its own business by email rather than letter.) Finally, after hours on the phone with various Allianz personnel, I was routed to a supervisor named Melissa, who straightened things out and approved the claim within 5 minutes. Hooray for Melissa, but boo for everyone else I interacted with.
