There was difficulty with contacting representatives from Allianz from the hospital in Germany. They had no landlines & email responses seemed to be slow. Overall we are satisfied with the way the claim was handled. Flights home were very complicated and long. It was impossible to use toll free overseas telephone number.

Flight was delayed one day due to Hurricane Irma, and had to spend an additional day in Dublin, Ireland. Miami International Airport was closed and unable to return from Dublin, Ireland. Was very pleased with the prompt response by your company in reimbursing expenses incurred. Will always travel with insurance. Thank you.

So glad I chose to insure my airline fare with Allianz. I injured my knee and was unable to go through with my vacation plans. Allianz's process made it easy to submit my claim and my airfare was refunded in a very reasonable period of time without any hassle. I highly recommend Allianz for travel protection.

On the day of our scheduled flight, I had to go to the emergency room and we were unable to make our flight. I contacted Allianz and the representative told us how to submit a claim online. We submitted the information requested including the medical verification from the emergency room. The Allianz representative contacted us via email in about a week and told us that we would be receiving a check for a full refund of our airline fare which arrived in a few days. The entire process was quickly and efficiently resolved. I would definitely recommend Allianz to my friends and fellow travelers.

I was so impressed by the man I talked with on the phone. He was to the point, focused on getting me through the process, and clear in describing how to navigate filing my claim online. The money was in my bank account less than 2 weeks after I filed. I will definitely use them again.

My wife and had a vacation planned to Peru for Sept 8th of 2017. Our flight was to go from Orlando to Miami and then to Peru. On Sept 3rd, we purchased insurance just in case one or both flights would be canceled. The company states you can get insurance up to 24 hrs before the day of flight. So we did due to the talks of hurricanes in the Caribbean at the time. The site never mentioned what they cover or do not cover. It led us to believe the 200 dollars we send for insurance would protect us from losing thousands in canceled flights. Of course on the 7th of Sept the flight was officially cancelled out of Miami. My wife calls to start a claim over the phone. 40 days later an email states they will not help at all. We call to get explanation and was received by rudeness and mocking. Stating that we knew there was a hurricane coming to Florida therefore we would not be covered.

Had to cancel my trip because of cancer and related treatments. Called, and was told what I needed to submit to file a claim. Filed the claim electronically, and in less than 10 days, I had my check. Outstanding service. Quick and without any hassle. Once I can travel again, I will never book a trip without Allianz travel insurance.

I called once a week to check on the progress and each time I was told 7 to 10 business days. This went on for not just 1 week or 2 weeks, even 3 weeks, but over a month. Don't say things you can't back up. Glad I did have the insurance and eventually got paid. I know that this was a very busy time for you, but get more help to process the claims quickly.

I had a trip interruption due to the hurricane. Per my policy I was required to provide documentation to support my claim and was reimbursed for my loss. Really professional and customer focused. I would definitely purchase a protection policy again.

When I originally called Allianz, the customer service representative mistakenly told me that I would hear from an adjuster within 10 days about my claim. When I went to the website, it said that an adjuster would review my claim within 10 days & email me if further information was needed. After about 12 business days, because of a large number of claims due to recent events, my claim was paid in full. I would recommend requesting direct deposit to a bank account, which is an option on the claim. When the claim was resolved, the money was immediately deposited into my bank account. I would recommend Allianz, but I would suggest reading the policy carefully about what is covered (I had cancel anytime travel insurance). The best source of information after a claim is filed is the website. Information from customer service tends to vary.

Allianz assistance with hospital charges and trip interruption was great! The entire process was smooth and easy. Reimbursement for airfare, transportation, lodging and meals was quick and I was kept informed on the status of the claim. We won't ever travel overseas without Allianz protection.

When Hurricane Irma forced the cancellation of multiple flights from Miami, my flight to Ecuador was included. Subsequently this flight was rescheduled from Houston. I filed a claim for the loss of the Miami flight, and was reimbursed. I am happy with the service of Allianz.

Awful and confused service on claims; needed to submit same claim more than once and amt paid impossible to understand. Form letters galore which failed to be responsive. Nice people but too much computerized gibberish in lieu of real responses. Does anyone there actually read what’s submitted?

The insurance coverage was a good value, and the automated web functions for uploading claims works very well. However, the customer service agents have minimal English-language skills, and seem to be poorly trained. I wasted hours of time on hold, then speaking to agents who barely understood my description of my medical emergency, who disconnected me twice. Skip the calls to customer service. It's a waste of time, and just use the website.

Hurricane Irma damaged our Interval International timeshare resort exchange to St Thomas so we couldn't stay there and there were no other places to exchange. The resort closed during our expected stay. So we had to cancel. The airline gave us credit for our flight, but it didn't give us credit for the exchange cost nor the points for the exchange. We filed a claim and it took 17 pages to show the proof we had and it was thorough enough not to require more input. The bank didn't charge for the fax because of the hurricane.

My 3 travel companions and I booked a trip to St Martin for Nov. 5-10, 2017. Our trip was cancelled by Cheap Caribbean due to hurricane and we were told we would get our money refunded only to find out that we would not get $91.32 for each of our trips because Allianz keeps it for ins fee. We will never use Allianz again. They kept $365. Of our trip money. Not right. We didn’t cancel. Resort and CC canceled.

Came down with Bronchitis while on a cruise. I saw ship's doctor. I filed a claim with Allianz and they paid my claim in a timely manner. A few years ago I missed my connection to a ship because of weather and they paid my claim. I always take their insurance when traveling.

Claim Type: Trip Cancellation. I requested my claim be refunded directly to my credit card account. This was not done. I never received the check. I live in Trinidad and Tobago. What bank will change my check if and when I do receive it.

I found the call line inaccessible. I found the website confusing. I found difficulty in accessing the forms, initially, then easy to print once found. I never spoke with a person. I found the medical forms too restrictive, for example, it seemed to imply in the wording that it must be a serious, urgent condition for a doctor to do or recommend something to me the patient and traveler to miss my flight. It turns out that I could have gone on my flight and it was not expensive and taken the procedure afterwards but I didn't know that and there was a risk that was unclear, so I acted with precaution, but very filled with apprehension while filing.

I was happy I bought the insurance but was not kept informed about payment processing. I went to check the 'check claim' site and found it at first but after you supposedly processed it, it came up as no information available. What is that about? Did you flush the claim? I called to be told by a human, “Yes it's been processed”. It will be paid by check! I asked when the check went out and conveniently it was the same day or the day before. That was two weeks ago, I still haven't received the check. I thought it would be charged/debited back to the charge card. I have not checked it yet but it's not there either, I suspect. Do we have to meet in small claims court? Why not, you must pay your attorneys well. Might as well use them right? You call me with a status update report now!

The response of your company was great, we went on a cruise then we were faced with a hurricane. Could not port so we had to catch flight home from different location. Did not get to go to the places we wanted but could not cancel cruise. Your service was great.

The claim took longer to process than stated and although the individuals that I spoke with was very helpful, it would have been nice to be able to speak with the person who was making the determination on my claim so that I could have known where I stood with regards to being paid back for the damage.

Allianz took my information and processed my check quickly. I always get travel insurance because of I have always been treated fairly by Allianz. I travel several times a year with and without my family and always get travel insurance. I wouldn't travel without it. It gives me peace of mind.

My trip had a flight from Philadelphia to Shannon Airport but also a second one trip from Dublin to Edinburgh. It was the Dublin to Edinburgh flight that was not refunded. I felt like I was misled by Allianz. I still did not get back that flight cost.

Purchased Allianz insurance with a recent hotel booking online. We were unable to make our reservation due to certain circumstances. Allianz made it very easy to process a claim and we were able to get refunded our expenses. Would definitely use Allianz Insurance for future trip reservations.

I paid for "100% Cancel Anytime" Trip Insurance when I booked through Cheap Caribbean. Hurricane Irma hit and I cancelled the trip. Before I cancelled I called Allianz several times to get details on what would happen and I was NEVER told I would only get the airfare back, not the hotel. I paid over $2k and got back less than $1k. Totally not worth it, and the customer service representative I spoke to today was nasty and condescending. His attitude was the equivalent of saying DUHHHH. I am furious - will never get insurance again. Not worth it. And Allianz made me resubmit the paperwork at least three times - each time never saying I wasn't getting a full reimbursement.

Excellent experience with a trip cancellation claim, with a complication for Allianz, & me. Processed & approved promptly, advised that check was on the way 9/11. After a week called, no sign of it. Waited another week, then until 9/29. CSR advised they would put a stop on it, initiate a direct bank transfer. That was credited 10/16. Two days prior, 10/14, the check arrived, postmarked 9/13, envelope in perfect condition with the correct first class postage. Perhaps a record for the USPS, a month to go perhaps 250 miles? The check was shredded, per instructions from the CSR. Throughout my series of calls the CSR's were consistently helpful, courteous, & well trained. Not sure if the medical community will clear me for future trips, but if they do & the fishing in the NW holds up, I plan to contact Allianz about trip coverage.

We're pleased to write that Allianz resolved a dispute of payment after many back and forth conversations and delays. We've used this company for years and will happily continue to do so long into the future. Hopefully American Airlines will be as professional. Recently while traveling an item was stolen from a gate checked bag. Although I've written to AA after unresolved conversations I've yet to hear back. Perhaps Allianz should give a tutorial on how to treat a customer.

I was very pleased that Allianz covered all of my expenses due to my travel problems in returning to Houston because of hurricane Harvey. Although I have purchased Allianz insurance in the past this was my first claim and it was also a test to see if it is worth buying the insurance. Because I was paid I will continue buying it in the future. The only problem that I had was when I called the assistance phone number to review my options when my flight was canceled. I got a woman in India who had no clue how to answer my questions.

I chose Allianz, certain that I would not need to use insurance, as we have never had to cancel a trip in our lives. This time, just prior to our trip, I was thrown from a horse and fractured my back in two places. I had covered our flights and transatlantic cruise. I had to, the evening before, cancel a trip I had scheduled and fortunately had an Allianz policy, and lo and behold the process for getting my claim entered, updated, and eventually paid-out was extremely simple, well communicated, and has assured my repeat business.

My 90 year old mother became ill and had to be hospitalized while visiting family in Ireland. Luckily I had taken out a policy with Allianz, which I never did before, just in case there were any problems. The claim submittal process was very easy, and we quickly received a check in the mail, far faster than I would have ever imagined. Thankfully my mother is well, and all of her medical expenses were covered by Allianz. I would not hesitate to purchase this insurance in the future, they were very helpful, and I'm extremely happy with the experience. Overall service and speed of handling the claim was very good; However, posting to the website acknowledging receipt of claimant submitted paperwork was slow. Sometimes 48 hours. Adjudication and payment were very timely. Telephone communications with Allianz Was consistently polite and helpful. The list of documentation and information required from the claimant was never completely accurate; But rather just a laundry list of documents that might be required depending on the type of claim and situation. This made determining what remaining requirements existed confusing.

I highly recommend Allianz for air travel protection. I bought a policy never dreaming I'd have to use it. However, Hurricane Irma proved me wrong. Unfortunately, a family trip that was planned had to be canceled due to an injury. The tickets were purchased in advance and the injury occurred two months prior to the departure date. We contacted the airlines, and then notified Allianz. However, only one person in the group (3 people) was reimbursed! This has been a disappointment and hardship.

I tried to create a claim online, but after several attempts realized that something was not working properly, so I called and I was able to get through and filed the claim. Afterwards it worked well. I was asked to provide proof from Airbnb that I had paid, and not received any reimbursement from them. I would have given a five star, if I had not experience the first step that I took with trying to file the claim online which was a very frustrating experience. Cancelled because the Keys were closed due to Hurricane. JetBlue puts money into an "account" for future use. I don't fly JetBlue because their routes are limited same with airport availability so having it in an account did not work for me. Called JetBlue and got the usual "sorry sir”. Stranded in Houston Texas during Hurricane Harvey - As soon as we landed at the airport all flights were cancelled. I was one of the lucky ones who was able to get a hotel. I expected to be stranded there for at least 4 days or so. Luckily, the airline made a one time rescue flight and I was able to get on it. Passengers were diverted to Chicago. My final destination is Orlando, Florida. Thank goodness I purchased Allianz insurance. They were awesome and refunded me my one day stay in Houston, Texas. I had to recently cancel a trip to San Juan, prior to the Hurricane, I purchased trip cancellation through American Airlines Website which directed me to Allianz Global. Max is $3,000 per person, My trip for 2 people cost $2538.00, said it exceeded the amount. Also hidden in another section not with Trip Cancellation is a line which states if you are laid off, you must have been employed for 3 years. This is NOT part of the Trip section, it is in the general section close to medical etc.

Medical Attention onboard Ms Amsterdam 8/9/2017 - My wife experienced pains around her rib cage radiating around to her back. Not sure the cause decided to seek Medical attention from the Ships Clinic. Several tests were made to rule out a heart attack and medicine given for the pain. Upon returning home we filled out your online claim form and submitted the supporting information for consideration. To our surprise the information was reviewed and settlement was completed within two weeks. We are very pleased with the ease of filing a claim and the rapid response. My husband and I were visiting Yellowstone national park when Hurricane Harvey hit Houston Texas. Our return flight from Bozeman, MT was through Houston. United Airlines canceled our flights 2 days before we were to return home. At that time there were no available flights from Bozeman to Memphis for at least 3 days so we had to drive to Salt Lake City, UT for a flight home. Unfortunately Hertz would not let us change our return airport for the car rental so we had to drive our initial rental car back to Bozeman and pick up another that could be dropped in Salt Lake City. I have used Allianz for a couple of trips and also will be using them for my upcoming cruise from Barcelona, Spain to Rome, Italy in March and have been completely satisfied with them. Tried to explain, gave my same address but unless she get something notarized in USA where is not possible, it could not be resolved. Tried to call the office abroad who said the USA branch should resolved, and in USA they point me abroad, loss of time and a useless check in my hand.

The policy was exactly what we needed, especially because we had to cancel a trip with non-refundable airline tickets. Even in the midst of hurricanes Harvey and Irma, our claim was processed extremely fast. My only problem was that the instructions as to what documents I needed to submit showed a huge number of documents, and I was not sure which ones applied to me. In other words, the list was not customized to me and I was confused.

It was very easy to make a claim on this travel insurance. Hurricane Harvey caused us a travel nightmare, we were kept whole with Allianz. I will use them in the future and recommend others to do so... Thank you!

This was the first time I used travel insurance; I fully expected not to have to use it, figuring it was just for my peace of mind since traveling has become a bit of a challenge on occasion for my family and friends. Well, I did need to use my insurance. My trip out to San Antonio was crazy. I ended up in Houston; driving to San Antonio, arriving there 18 hours after my original arrival time. Once, I determined that my travel insurance would cover the rental car I needed to complete my trip to San Antonio, I filed the paperwork and received my reimbursement in a timely fashion. It was great and I will be using Allianz again.

We bought travel insurance through Allianz Global for our trip to Ireland in August. Our connecting flight was cancelled in Houston due to Harvey and we had to stay at a hotel for 5 days. I filed a claim for flight interruption and Allianz processed and sent the check within 10 days. Excellent service with no questions asked. I would definitely recommend using this insurance for trips.

First time I used Allianz. Because of Irma, I had to cancel a flight to West Palm Beach. Filled out the forms online, attached documentation and within a couple of weeks was notified I would be receiving a check. Check came soon after. Very good experience.

I had an accident, went to urgent care. Cut short our trip so I could be home. I was reimbursed for the airfare, but the medical expenses were denied. This seemed strange to me. I assumed the insurance would pay for medical expenses as well as the cost of the interrupted trip's airfare.

My 8 years old son went to Brasil to spend summer with my mother. Purchasing a policy with Allianz was the best decision I made. It turns out that he had trouble breathing while away and had to be seen by a doctor. I contacted Allianz from the US and was given details, of what to do to have Thomas seen by a Doctor and how to file a claim afterwards. My son was very well taken care of. I even received a call from Allianz to check on his well being days later! Once they came back home, with all the receipts and medical report, I applied for a refund and in less than 10 days a check was in my mailbox. International health insurance coverage is that thing you pay hoping never to use. Not only because nobody wants to get sick on vacation but also because of the hassle the after service involves.
