I was very pleased with the process for reporting my trip cancellation because of illness with my travelling companion. The turn around time from when I sent the information and required data to receiving my insurance payment was approximately two weeks which I think is very good!

It was a real pleasure working with Allianz. I took out the travel insurance for a scheduled vacation with my daughter this spring. The main concern was my husband's multiple health issues and how they might cause me to cancel my trip. Little did I know, that 1 week before leaving I would tear a ligament in my knee that requires surgery. I contacted Allianz immediately. Your representative was courteous, knowledgeable and spoke American English. He told me that he would Email me a Packet of forms, Explained what was needed to fill them out and how to submit them. I did. I then received my insured airline ticket price in a Short 2 weeks. Good job. Thank You Will definitely use you again.

I am very satisfied with my experience with Allianz Global Assistance. Firstly, the cost for the travel insurance was very reasonable. When I arrived at the airport, Spirit airlines notified me that my luggage would be delayed. I placed my claim with Allianz about a week after returning from my trip and received a claim refund in less than a month.

I ended up in the emergency room with a herniated disc on our Italy vacation. Insurance reimbursed all expenses incurred. This insurance also covered cancelled flight expenses trying to get home from Toronto. I would very much recommend this insurance to everyone!!!

After a quite stressful vacation situation that included cancelled flights, lost luggage, and finding last minute hotel accommodations, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to file my claim & supporting documents. The claim process was simple and prompt. We were sorry that we were not able to travel but the claim process for reimbursement of airfare expense was so simple and prompt that made an unpleasant experience tolerable and not so bad.

My flight was delayed one day due to a storm. The online claims process was very easy. The claim was approved within a week and I received a check for the full amount of our claim shortly after. The only minor issue was the status of the claim did not make it clear that I had provided all necessary documentation. It turns out I did. Very happy that we purchased the policy.

I spent more than 500.00 for my delay, so I was not 100% happy. Although I am suppose to receive 300.00. Still waiting, but that is better than nothing. I guess my bank wouldn't accept direct deposit. They said they will mail me a check.

Allianz is a great service and I use it when I buy all of my airplane tickets. Out of some 20 flights I have purchased and taken in the last 7 years, I have had to use insurance 3 times. All of these cancellations and/or changes and trade ins were done because of medical emergencies on the part of people in my family or those I was going to visit. My friend and I bought cruise insurance for a plane trip to the Bahamas. About a month before our trip, I became ill with an upper respiratory infection, which developed into bronchitis, which became pneumonia, and in to the hospital I was sent. I was released before my cruise was to leave, but my doctor didn't feel I was physically up for this trip and recommended I not leave. It's a good thing I stayed home, because I had an allergic reaction to the meds and am still not well enough to travel. Allianz refunded all our money and wrote a lovely letter in response to our disappointment at having to cancel our trip.

I am very satisfied with the online claim process. I followed the instructions and within two weeks I received reimbursement for the expenses I incurred when my flight home was cancelled for mechanical difficulties and the next fight wasn’t for 24 hours.

Allianz policy we purchased when we booked our travel with American Airlines came in handy when I had a mishap while vacationing in the Bahamas on a medical emergency and a flight cancellation. Carnival lost our bag and when it did finally turn up items were missing. Carnival does not cover their own issues. However, I do like to back up my plans and my rentals with Allianz. Everything is online and as long as you follow the fine print (police reports, claims with original travel company-Carnival) no issues and they take about 10 minutes to file after you collect everything. 30 days later they send payment for what's covered. No muss no fuss. I use them directly over all other insurance companies (Hotwire, Travelocity, Sam's Club).

My wife and I purchased trip cancellation insurance from Allianz for our scheduled trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Due to complications from surgery, the trip had to be cancelled. Around 4/12/2018, My husband had tingling of arm and numbness. He is 66 years old... He went to primary Dr. Dr. told him he had heart skipping and palpitation and they did not like it; "Schedule yourself for an cardiology." Appoint was 4/17, Prior to 4/17. He had a accident and hammered a nail into his hand on 4/16/2018 whereas a nail was logged into hand and he had to go to emergency ward to have it pulled out, and he called cardiology for his appointment on the 17, and was told to cancel appointment for 4/17 and wait till it heal. I, the wife, heard his heart skipping and rushing while I laid on his chest. Immediately cancelled the trip, because he has to reschedule for another cardiology. I submitted all Emergency ward paperwork for his hands and cardiology paper... and you refunded my money. Thank you. I was so worried that I was going to lose my monies. I am glad I purchased the insurance.

Very easy to upload documents, claim covered in a timely manner. We purchase Allianz anytime we travel you never know what is going to happen. We had no issues with the website it is very user friendly. I’m not the best on computers and was able to walk myself through the entire process.

When my luggage was delayed after a drawn-out flight in which my family was rerouted & my son was sick, I called the Allianz phone number. The representative was so supportive. His upbeat attitude of commiserating with me & sympathizing with my difficult situation, but then flipping it around and talking about how in 10 years' time our family would be joking about it, really calmed me down. Broke my ankle several days before trip to Peru with $2000 in tickets. Cost $140 to insure the airline tickets. Received the $2000 without any problem and within a couple of weeks. Only out the $140 and another trip fee that was not refundable and uninsured.

We have bought Allianz policies on numerous occasions and had to cancel insured travel plans twice: one knee replacement and on stress fractures. Both claims had easily supported medical documentation and there were no complications from Allianz. Do the paperwork; get the refund. Our only complaint is about the forms on the Allianz site: we had to write and request forms; the online forms won't download. Allianz can do a better job on their website. As far as the insurance aspects goes: Allianz is a top rate company- excellent.

Airports were closed mid March 13 Nor'easter storm. I had to rebook two days later (and pay extra $156.00). Allianz reimbursed me after I sent documentation. It was a smooth and pleasant transaction. Therefore, I shall continue to insure with Allianz when I fly with JetBlue.

I have had to file a few claims over the past few years and every time the process is super easy and I have my refund in 1-2 weeks. I get my notifications and then it appears in my bank account. I can upload everything electronically and never have an issue. I highly recommend people to get the insurance because you never when something is going to happen to change your plans. I've had so much hassle with other travel insurances, because they made it sound, upon purchase, like I was paying for the option to change or cancel my flight, but were only providing the opportunity for a refund if I died or was injured. Allianz provided my refund when a work change made me cancel without significant hassle. I would give 5 stars, but the website wouldn't let me submit after I uploaded my documents, so I had to call and email my documents in. Also, the whole claims process for travel insurance is just tedious.

Allianz continues to delay reimbursement for travel interruption. My wife had an emergency appendectomy in Egypt end of January. All documents were filed in Feb. and final confirmation that all documentation has been received was March 3, 2018. Called every week and each time am told that the claim is in "Management Review" and it will be another 6-10 weeks. Here it is May 7, 8 weeks after the claim documentation was submitted and complete, and they still are not able to address or explain the continued delays. I will not be using them again!!!

A planned trip with husband was cancelled/changed because of husband's recent diagnosis of Parkinson's. AGA was accommodating in refunding my seat upgrade after American Airlines refunded all other costs related to the original travel plans. I was still able to travel but had to make changes to coordinate my travel with others.

I recently had a medical issue in Honduras during a cruise. Allianz had left a message for me on my phone so that as soon as I returned I was asked to update them on my condition. I called and they immediately forwarded me the paperwork to fill out to file a claim for my medical expenses and advised me to submit the cost of my entire family's excursion for the day I experienced the medical problem. I had the checks from Allianz within 10 days of submitting the paperwork that covered all of my expenses and cost of excursions. I always use Allianz when traveling but have not had to use them. I bought this travel insurance for my Europe cruise. While on my cruise ship, I fell ill and saw the onboard doctor. When I returned, I asked my travel agent to file a claim. I don't know who dropped the ball, him or you, but it took over 8 months to be reimbursed. Totally unacceptable.

We always buy insurance when we travel for peace of mind. Allianz is not expensive. When we got stranded at the Atlanta Airport for bad weather, the airline could not help us, so we got to stay overnight. When we got home, it was very easy to file the claim and got our reimbursement.

I have returned mail payment since I have received a voucher for a future flight from the airlines. I think it's important to know the protocol before telling the client, especially when it comes to insurance. Other than that, my experience with Allianz was good. We were on vacation and received an email for American Airlines that Chicago was having severe weather impacting our return flight the next day. We couldn’t find a return flight the same day and had to fly out the following day. I submitted a claim due to the expenses of having to stay an extra night. When I submitted the documents required I found them Allianz to be a reputable company to deal with, and they delivered when they stated in the time frame specified. I would take the insurance again without question. This insurance is a must when you have a medical condition.

Allianz paid my claim for the room we didn't use due to illness promptly. However, I got a credit for the unused flights from JetBlue, which must be used within a year. Allianz refuses to pay for the flight if I can't use the credit within the year. I obviously should have refused JetBlue's offer of a credit & claimed that amount from Allianz. I thought I was saving money for Allianz. I'll refuse a credit if something like this happens again.

I had an intestinal flu and was unable to travel. Typically this illness does not require a visit to the dr. Your policy required me to see a dr for a 48 hour stomach bug. Not only did I have to visit and pay for the dr, I had to ask her to write a letter stating my illness. That is completely ridiculous and uncalled for. I will not purchase another policy with you. This is too much trouble.

I started having heart palpitations while visiting China. I called Allianz and they gave me the name of an American Hospital. They asked if we would like a return call to ensure we had been served well - we declined. When we returned home we submitted our bill to Allianz (which we had paid while there). We received a check reimbursing us for the full amount we paid for services. It was easy and really reduced the stress. The hospital we were referred to had personnel fluent in English and was very efficient.

SCAM. A waste of money. My fiance and I had to cancel our honeymoon due to terrorism in the country we were going to. Bought travel insurance to protect the pricy international trip. Filed a claim and received a letter saying war, civil unrest, and terrorism is not covered in the policy. Basically all that is covered is if you are hospitalized. Big waste of money and incredibly disappointed.

I have purchased trip insurance before and never had to use it wondering if it would be like most insurance companies trying not to pay, but my plans had changed and the airline charged me $ 200.00 to change flights. The check was in the mail when I got home. I will definitely get this insurance every time I travel!

I booked 3 trips this year for travel. The first from May 6-9 2018, my husband was not able to fly due to a back injury happening 6 days before the fight. He went to a PT for relief and still planned to fly until the following day when he re-injured his back, eliminating the possibility of travel. I called after the first injury to ask if a PT would qualify for a medical person to determine if he could travel and was told yes. When I needed to cancel his flight, I was advised to gather all necessary documents and submit them which I did. I was given excellent advice and compassion for him not being able to join me for this family event. We have 2 more trips planned soon, so hope we will be traveling together and if for some reason he cannot, I am assured we will be given the best service possible.

Air France called a 1 day strike on the day I was flying home from Cairo Egypt to San Francisco. When I submitted my claim for hotel and meals due to the strike, it was handled promptly and in its entirety. I was very pleased with the service.

A snow storm affected our travels from Fargo to San Francisco. With the Allianz travel insurance we were able to get reimbursement for extra travel expenses we incurred due to cancelled flight and delays. The claim process online, was very user friendly and we received a reimbursement within 10 days. A very quick process. We submitted the needed documents and no questions were asked. Definitely would use Allianz when flying in the future.

I can not say enough good things about Allianz and the way the handled your canceled flight claims. Last year I had a job cancel on me and with just a letter from my employer within 10 days I had my claim completed and money in the bank. This year emergency surgery caused me to cancel 2 flights and Allianz claims department handled them very quickly, again with just a letter from my surgeon. I had an additional flight I had to cancel because of the surgery insured by a different company and I am still waiting for the money. They required a 3-page form filled out by the surgeon and also asked for proof that I didn't know that I was having the surgery before I purchased the ticket. I will never use them again and think twice before using the airline that supports them. Thank you again Allianz for the great service!

My husband and I always purchase Allianz insurance when we fly. One is never sure when something could disrupt a trip or force us to cancel altogether. A minor mishap with a car in Ireland clouded our trip as I was skeptical of the insurance I bought from Aer Lingus website. Allianz travel insurance come through. When I called, the representative couldn't have been more helpful. After sending in the paperwork, the claim was paid without any fuss or bother. We returned from our vacation late Christmas Eve with a forecast for a snowstorm the next morning. Bought trip insurance in Dec when I bought my flight tix for family trip. In March 3 of 4 were sick, 1 in ER, and could not fly. Allianz claim was easy. I uploaded requested items and claim was processed in timely manner. Did not make me jump through hoops. Very impressed. Would use again. Trip insurance with Allianz is definitely worth it!

Claim was processed very quickly with minimal info needed. We had our check within one week of uploaded submission. We could do entire process online at our leisure and had to speak to no one nor answer tons of questions.

The young lady (I wish I had her name) whom I called to double check that I was not eligible for bag being lost and another damaged was just great--friendly and patience. On the negative: I have to say I found your website extremely difficult (the form to fill-out that is), but was glad I finally "muddled" thru it and were able to receive $100 for our travel delay. I am not sure why my husband was not covered on my policy too and why $100 was chosen (the limits were up to $500)? I also would like to have known how much more I would have had to pay (or if even if this was available to have covered for my lost and the other damaged bag? I have tried to add attachments, but it would not let me: I was to attached my picture, so you can see whom you are speaking to (I live on a farm). I would have also attached my information on the one damaged bag, and then the lost bag.

I was very happy with the ease of filing a claim and the prompt credit that was issued to me, due to having a medical issue that caused me to have to cancel my flight. By having this travel insurance, it allowed me to be refunded and rebook at a later date after my recovery from my surgery.

I am very disappointed to see that you have only sent me a check for $300. For this disruption, I lost $1500 and I have sent you details of all the expenses. Furthermore and apart from this $1500 I had to visit Canada again (because I missed my previous appointment) and the expenses were more than $3000. So in total, I lost $4500 and I got only $300 as claim back. This is very disheartening to see this from a very reputed company like yours and I request you to please reconsider my claims.

I never fly without adding Allianz Trip Protection to my airlines reservation. I have had to change dates several times in the past year, after I have made my reservations. I purchased insurance that clearly states for cancellation of flight and it didn’t specify how it was cancelled so I wasted my money on insurance with false information on refunds. Then you can’t even call Neisse. The automated system forces you to go to their website and if you try to speak to a person you’re on infinite hold and no one ever picks up the phone. Everything is done so you’re forced to email them only.

Our plane was cancelled due to storms in the Northeast. We couldn't get home for two days. Thankfully we had taken out trip insurance. The two extra days of expenses were fully covered by Allianz- hotels and rental cars in two different places. Allianz was easy to contact by phone and the process was explained to me, as well as the policy number, which I had lost. I submitted my story and receipts for all my expenses and 10 days later I received a check for the amount of all my receipts. It was also easy to look up the claim online and see where we were in the process. Considering that it was spring break in Florida and we had to book a hotel on one day's notice, we didn't get a cheap room, but it was covered. Thank you Allianz! When a snow storm shut down NYC on our arrival from a vacation in Ireland, we had to spend a night and a day in the City until Delta could get flights back in the air. Submitting the request to have our additional expenses reimbursed was very straightforward and we were refunded for those expenses for which we managed to save receipts. We will use Allianz again to protect us against such unforeseen events.

My Travel Interruption claim was denied. Travel delay claim was paid at $300 at $150pp. On 3/20/2018 we spoke with Allianz by phone & was told that trip delay paid $150/day/pp. Check the recording from the call on that date. We spoke with the rep as soon as our first cancellation occurred. As well our travel interruption was claim was declined after being told by Henry by phone on April 5 that we qualified. There was a flight leaving on 3/21 but we were unable to book the flight after a late cancellation of our flight on 3/21. This insurance is deceptive. I am an Interval International member and my goal is to ensure Interval no longer uses Allianz to ensure their members' travel.

We really appreciate having this option when we plan to fly. You never know what can or will happen unexpectedly❗️ Had to get refunded once, all went smoothly. Some paperwork to get it all coordinated But was very satisfied.

I had never used trip insurance before. I bought it for a trip to California that my wife and I were taking after she had a knee replaced just in case she had something happen after surgery. When we got back from traveling in Thailand I went down to AAA and the agent that set us up with your company took my info on my hospital stay in Thailand and faxed it to your office. We received our refund at around three weeks.

Went to Mayo for medical care but because I was on antibiotics for another condition, they shortened my trip and asked me to come back in one month. So I had to go home early. Initially, Allianz was not going to cover it, but because it was an early cancellation or trip interruption for a different medical reason, they covered my ticket change. Was happy they changed their mind. Had used them before going to Europe and they were good when I needed emergency care.

I have had positive experiences with Allianz. Unexpected injuries forced me to cancel my travel plans. They were efficient and professional in helping to obtain the return my tour deposit and the cost of airline fares. If you travel several times a year I feel that this annual insurance fee is well worth the expense.

I rarely buy insurance for travel but I did for some reason and when my husband and I both got a horrible flu the day we were to leave, we filed a claim with doctor's note, etc. I expected a to have to fight for it, but we got recompensed without trouble - at least to the extent of the policy. Some things were not covered. So, yes, I recommend them!

I had a minor health issue while traveling in New Zealand and found the representatives at Allianz to be very informative and helpful. Submitting online documentation was straightforward and lengthy, yet fairly easy to follow. Response time and resolution were reasonable.

Flight was cancelled due to illness. Working with customer service was very easy. I would highly recommend. I will buy each time I book a trip. If you are going to take to major trip where the weather could be a issue the insurance is a must.

We had to cancel our trip due to medical problem. Received a refund check almost immediately after claim was filed. Great response. Given the minimal extra charge for the insurance, it was definitely worth buying the coverage. The claims process was easy.

Claim was paid quickly. The adjudication process categorized the claim as travel delay, not travel interruption, resulting in a smaller claim payout than we expected. Otherwise, the claims process was easy. Submittal process online made everything go smoothly. Status checking also went well.

I was in the hospital for 3 days a few days before my trip and my husband was unable to go either as he cannot go alone. Allianz treated us fairly and refunded the flight money. Not only that but luckily the car rental credited as well when I said Allianz had done so.

We had a 3 day delay caused in part by a snowstorm that involved a cancellation and rerouted booking to an alternate destination that was also subsequently cancelled. (We were very dissatisfied with American Airlines.) Allianz initially underpaid our claim, understandable since it was a fairly complicated series of events, but after we questioned their decision they corrected it to our complete satisfaction. The only glitch was we tried to get Allianz to re-book us on an alternate airline after the first cancellation, but could not get a human on the phone. This may have been because we did not call the correct one of several phone numbers, I'm not sure.

I never anticipated not attending the concert that I purchased tickets to attend so I thought twice about buying the Allianz Global insurance. I thought, "Oh well just in case," and sure enough we could not make it to the event due to a car breakdown. Allianz Global was great: easy to work with, clear explanations and directions, easy to get paperwork to via online services that WORKED, and fast service. Thank you Allianz Global for your help.

It took some time to complete the process but my outcome was positive. That we were already dealing with an illness, it was nice to have a honest response. I had been afraid that all the forms were going to have to go back and forth across the states but it was settled with just a doctor's note.

I've never til the last couple of years been a fan of trip insurance. I try to plan and work our details to avoid close calls or glitches. We planned a European trip with a top provider on a major airline with a nonstop flight. We're both in good physical health, but on Medicare (no coverage outside U.S.). My wife was involved in a freak car accident at home before and we decided to cancel the trip and lay low. Allianz couldn't have been more kind, professional, and understanding. I'm not real computer savvy but they had phone and mail options available. Kept me in the loop via e-mail almost daily. Followed up with a disposition of the claim via e-mail, snail mail and a check within 14 days. I was very pleased with outstanding claim adjudication and correspondence.
