Emailed about our train trip not going to work because Cub game was moved. So glad I had insurance as you were able to refund us. But then I found out I was supposed to alert Amtrak that we were not going to go so they refunded our money. I will use you guys again when traveling.

We had to cancel our trip due to an accident. I am disabled and fell getting out, of the car. My husband had to pick me up off the ground and injured his back. We both had to see the doctor for our injuries. We are both elderly and I am unsteady on my feet so I am so thankful for the insurance since we had to cancel our flight to see family. Thank you.

The customer service representative that helped me was very courteous and professional. He gave me the information I needed to file my claim without any issues and offered to assist in filing the claim. The online claims submission system was so easy to use I didn't need any assistance and my claim was reviewed and adjudicated in a few days.

Having used Allianz on previous trips and having had to file claims occasionally, I have found Allianz customer service and claims service to be exceptional. The claims representatives I have spoken with were very helpful in working with me to get the necessary documentation to get my claims processed. The documentation requirements are not onerous.
For this trip, I had a flight cancel and I had to rebook the following day. This, of course, required an extra night on our itinerary. I called the customer service line and asked if I could go ahead and submit a claim, the representative was very helpful and encouraged me to go ahead and file the claim. She went over the documents needed and walked me through the process. I had a check within 2 weeks. I have recommended Allianz to friends and family as a superior provider of travel insurance, and I would recommend it again.

My first telephone interaction with an agent was very unpleasant; he did not seem to understand what I was saying at all and was resistant to acknowledging that I had a valid claim. I finally had to speak very firmly and insist that he send me a claim form. After that, the claims process moved fairly smoothly, and I was satisfied with the outcome. Bottom line: train your agents better who are first line of contact with clients.

I started purchasing travel insurance years ago when I went on my first cruise. I didn't have to use it until a health issue derailed me and I was not able to make a trip. After providing all the necessary documentation, Allianz paid the claim within days and I was so relieved not to have lost the money and could put it towards my mounting doctor bills. Buying a policy is low cost compared to what you could lose out on so buy it and buy it from Allianz!

I had to cancel a trip. The JetBlue fee to cancel my reservation and reinstate my points was $200. I filled out the claim form with a simple explanation and within days there was a check for the as promised $200. Simple, secure and worth the price!

Due an unfortunate accident I had to cancel my trip. The only portion of me cost that was not refunded by American Airlines was the to reinstate my frequent flyer miles. Allianz handled the refund with speed and professionalism. I submitted all the information requested via fax and the refund was sent directly to my bank within two days.

Definitely appreciate what you did for us. We left our passport behind and had to have express delivered to us for our flight back to the U.S. the next morning. The cost was about $150 U.S. for the same day delivery and we were able to leave as planned. Allianz reimbursed us for the delivery, which was a great help.

I was happy with the insurance. My father was very sick and I couldn't travel, so Allianz Global refunded me. I was happy with my refund, but the process was a slow and could been a little more faster. I had to send in too much documentation that was a little frustrating. I don't oppose to the documentation. I will say this is the first time we have bought insurance and after I was hospitalized for 10 days it was well worth the money. They got a letter from my hospital doctor and approved my claim in a couple of days while I was still in hospital, then just a few days after I was home they mailed a check. So I say thanks and we will be getting insurance again definitely.

I was told I would receive up to $125 US returned for my hotel cancellation. I booked my hotel for $125 US which was about $160 CDN. When I received the refund cheque I only received $125 CDN. Now I’m out $35 for a hotel I never stayed in.

I used Allianz rental car damage protection for my last trip. Considerably cheaper than buying CDW from the rental agency. Purchasing the policy was fairly straightforward, as was filing the claim when I ended up with a cracked windshield. Simple hassle free process and would definitely recommend as the preferred option for CDW when renting.

I called the customer service line late on a Saturday night to see if I would be eligible for a trip refund and the woman on the phone was kind and helpful. She recommended since it was the weekend I submit my policy request online, which I did, and within 10 business days my claim was resolved and the repayment was in my account! I booked a trip to Florida months in advance. The red tide outbreak was at its peak levels in the area where I had booked travel and I had legitimate health concerns preventing me from going. Allianz denied the claim saying it was a foreseen event - which is obviously inaccurate given the advance with which I booked it. I would not rely on Allianz to pay out claims in most legitimate circumstances.

I purchased insurance, didn't make trip. Filed a claim and it has been over 3 weeks with no resolve. I have called 3 times and been told three different things. If you ask to speak to your claim examiner they aren't available. They wanted proof of why I didn't travel. They wanted the original policy, they wanted my original receipt of purchase of the flight. I got all of this to them for them to do nothing. I don't think they ever intend on paying this claim. DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY.

The process was okay, it just took a long time. Although they said I could complete my claim online, I was unable to because for whatever reason when doing it online it required me to provide every single one of the documents that they have listed - many of which didn't apply to my situation or I didn't even have. Thus, I needed to complete the form they gave me in hard copy and mail that in. Because I mailed it in it took longer to process. It is very deceiving when they state that you can submit online for a quicker turnaround when in fact you can't. That was frustrating. Aside from that, everyone I spoke with was helpful and I did get my claim processed and approved.

Purchased travel insurance back in May for my Business travel for the year at $295. Through my company as I fly 3-4 times per month I needed coverage for delays and any lost luggage. Every time you purchase a flight this option comes up so I finally decided to purchase. Finally when I had 2 bags stolen back in June I needed to file a claim. The first time in 8 years of flying AA. That a bag had been stolen. The process of filing a claim was an absolute nightmare. The app didn't work so I went to the website then I moved to calling and tried many times to get through but was on hold constantly. Eventually I got through and filed the claim.
Over 4 weeks gone and I received a message more information required but didn't state what information. Again I tried calling, on hold many times. I gave up. Eventually I got through and was told the claim had been closed as they do not cover business expenses or items within the luggage and it's in the terms and conditions which I have reviewed and cannot find. In addition they deduct anything you get from the airline in the claim, well the airline is legally obliged to pay more than what they offer in the majority of cases so the insurance is again not worth the paper it is written on and is an incredible scam. I would advise anyone looking for travel insurance to look carefully and really consider not using this company as it's a waste of money in 99% off all cases.

I purchased the insurance for my honeymoon. Employment changed and they will not cover it with at least 2 months in advance so now I'm out 1100$. Their website that says the definitions on what they cover doesn't work. They don't value you as a customer and don't listen to what you say. I asked for a callback between 4-5. They called at 10. I was on hold for them over 45 minutes the day before and the operator volume was pretty much off on their end so I couldn't understand them. Long story short I submitted all the paperwork, a letter from my employer and they still denied.

I had to interrupt a hiking trip to the Walker's Haute route because of heat exhaustion, which led to an inability to hike with my hiking group. I traveled home, met with a physician, and submitted all the required paperwork for extra expenses related to early departure, lodging, and cancellation of lodging. I received my reimbursement within a month, with absolutely no issue. The only costs not covered were those that I did not have a receipt for... taxi and small food items. I am very happy with their response and will continue to use Allianz Global Assistance for all my trips.

When our flight was cancelled, due to weather problems, I called Allianz from the airport to determine what our options were. I was told that we would be fully covered for up to $1500 per person (travelling as a couple) for cancelled flight. Fast forward three months later, after hours of phone calls, preparing paperwork, following up on correspondence, etc. only to be told that our claim is ineligible for ridiculous reasons that make no sense whatsoever. This company will go to great lengths to avoid paying legitimate claims. Find another travel insurance provider or be prepared for lots of frustration and extreme disappointment.

I submitted a claim because I broke my leg. Once I submitted a claim, I uploaded all the information required. After my submission of information, it took a while but I later received a check in the mail and that was that. Totally worth it.

It was an excellent value for the premium cost. Direct deposit of the claim payment meant that I could cover expenses that had to be delayed due to my flight interruption.

There was nothing in the policy requiring US residence but when it came to a claim, I had to use a US address and bank account. Fortunately I was able to do this, otherwise I am not sure if a claim would have been feasible. You need to clarify terms and conditions and make it clear how non-US customers’ claims are processed.

I had no suitcase for three days which was very inconvenient. I was with a group and had to sleep naked next to a woman. I purchased small items for Euro 55.--. After my return I was told to fill out and submit the lost baggage report plus expenses which I did. I submitted the original receipts and made a copy for myself. The woman on the phone told me they would reimburse me for $300.-- for the suitcase and Euro 55.-- for the items I needed. I got a check for $100.-- which I think was not enough! I had purchased insurance from Allianz before, was lucky and never needed it but this time! Anyhow I'm very disappointed in Allianz for getting $100.-- for such an inconvenience!

I purchased this insurance because my daughter in law was due to give birth 2 weeks after my trip. I ended up being hospitalized 1 week before our trip and my doctor wouldn't let me travel. Trips have glitches and unfortunately storms caused me to miss my late transfer to Paris (through Atlanta) grounding me there at about midnight. I booked into a hotel and the next day went on my way. When I returned from my trip my travel agent encouraged me to file a claim to recoup the cost of the hotel. I did and honestly hoped for the best but expected the worst. We experienced a one day travel delay in our trip due to weather and flight cancellations. As a result we lost but were charged for a hotel night at our destination. In addition, the rental car price almost doubled due to picking up the car a day late. We filed a claim for these expenses and received a refund within 10 days. I had an issue with delayed luggage. Allianz reimbursed me $200 for payment towards items I had to go out to buy. This helped me to always get travel insurance because this was the first time in 25 years of traveling that something like this happened to me. I always think it will not happen but it did and I was not too upset because I knew I had purchased insurance.

When my trip from Boston to South Dakota was delayed 7 times I had to stay in a strange city but I knew Allianz Global Assistance could help me meet my needs. I didn't have to worry about trying to find the cheapest hotel in Minneapolis while stranded at midnight, instead I was able to get one with a shuttle to and from the airport. It made a distressing night much less distressing.

Our JetBlue flight was unexpectedly cancelled and we had to stay two extra night with transportation fees, hotel fees, extended valet parking fees and unexpected tips for the longer stay. When we submitted our expense claim there was no pushback from Allianz!!! They reimbursed us for all out of pocket expenses. What a wonderful company. We have insured our travel with Allianz for many years and we never want to have to use it but when we have had to they always come through. We also really like the health insurance coverage. We never had to use this thank God but we know it is there and they will honor any documented issues.

Came back from a trip and filed a claim with Allianz within 48 hours. Our outboard flight was delayed by 24 hours due to weather; therefore, we missed some activities we had booked for supposedly our first day. Filing the claim was easy. Using all necessary documentation, the claim was instantly acknowledged, and settlement in full was with about 12 days. Fantastic service!!! My year-long travel policy is still in effect for 9 more months. Whereas I HOPE I won't have to file another claim, I'm glad Allianz can be counted on with such efficiency and excellent service.

We purchased trip insurance for a group-led tour of Glacier-Waterton Parks that the operator cancelled due to the forest fires in Glacier; three days before the trip was to begin. We contacted Allianz, the rep told us what to submit and we started a claim online ($12,000 trip cost) and uploaded all required documents and it takes 10 business days for review. It is now 20 business days since we filed the claim. There have been over a dozen conversations with their representatives and each one made false promises about the claim being settled and we will "get an email" that never comes.
After delaying review repeatedly, they finally requested two more documents and we submitted them within 24 hours, called in and told them they were uploaded and once again they said that it would reset the clock to another 10 business day wait period "for review." We escalated and finally got someone to "expedite" the claim but now it is "48 hours" until we receive... wait for it, not the check, but yet another email. Our friends purchased insurance from another company and they have already received their full reimbursement. The only way to get a straight answer is to escalate the call to a supervisor from the onset. And then call back every day.

My only problem with your claims process is that if you have more than one claim for the same trip, your website only lets you enter one. My first claim was paid in a timely manner (extra hotel) but verifying the extra airfare for a medical emergency was very complex.

This company has then says "This doesn't qualify as a delayed trip." Wtf. I would never do business with company again. I typically never buy insurance but this time I figured I would just in case. I bought concert tickets and the next day found out one of my family members back home was recently booked in for surgery. I called the next day after I bought the tickets to cancel and get my refund since I bought the insurance in case something like this happens.
Not only did they send me on this whole journey to submit a number of documents. They required that I get a note from the doctor of my family member who lives in a different province to state exactly why they had to get surgery. Due to confidential reasons (OBVIOUSLY) the doctor would not write this note. After calling Allianz for the 3rd time and getting a different answer each time, no one on the other end knew what to do but just kept repeating "We need these documents. I don't know what you should do but without this document, we can not send this claim into processing." I asked to speak with someone who could help and their answer was, "I'm the only person you can speak with. There is no one higher up that can tell you what's going on."
Finally I asked the family member of mine to request a doctor's note from her doctor so then I could scan it and send in this document. After weeks of this chase for all the "required documents," I had submitted all documents requested. 3 more weeks go by and I still hear nothing from Allianz. I check online and it finally says my claim is "complete." A few more weeks go by, I still don't receive my refund. I call in again get put on hold for 40 min (AGAIN) and when I finally speak with a representative, this guy could barely speak English and he told me that my claim has been completed and approved and double checked my mailing address then told me my check would be in the mail by the end of the day and that I should receive it in mail in 5-10 business days. Great!
3 more weeks go by. Nothing in my mailbox. I finally call in today go through the whole process of explaining my case. Get put on hold for another 20 min. Then the representative comes back on the line telling me that my claim has now been put BACK to "processing" and has been sent to an auditor. They then requested I give one more business day and I should receive an e-mail tomorrow and a letter from the auditor to let me know their final decision on whether they will refund my money or not. I asked why it was sent to an auditor when weeks ago my status online said complete and the representative told me my check would be on the way. He replies "I got to be honest with you, I have no idea why your claim was just sitting on the desk not being dealt with. But they should e-mail you by tomorrow." WHAT?
So it's been close to 4 months since I've started dealing with Allianz with these concert tickets I didn't even own for more than 24 hours and their answer every time is "I don't know. Is there anything else I can help you with?" NO! There is nothing else you can help me with... You couldn't even help me with my original question! I will NEVER buy insurance from Allianz again. They just scam people for their money and don't ACTUALLY insure what you buy.

For many years I've been using travel / medical insurance administered by Allianz every time I take a trip. I Submitted my a travel / medical claim at the beginning of April 2018. As of September 4th, (4 months later), the travel portion of the claim has still not been processed. Called Allianz service desk every 2 weeks for the last couple of months, probably 12 calls, and each time was assured that the claim would be processed within 5 to 10 business days, and that I would get a call back from the service desk supervisor in the same time frame. I never did get a call back and the claim has still not been processed. Unable to contact the Toronto office, message is always "all our operators are busy - please call back later".
Allianz is unwilling to communicate by email and the answers from the service desk are different each time, e.g. "the claim is with the examiner", "someone will call back", "we are very busy" etc. On none of these calls was there any indication that I was missing any documentation or that there was a problem with the claim submission. 4 months, (and counting), wait time for a small claim to get processed is far too long and I would recommend that if you are considering travel / medical insurance that you don't choose Allianz.

I've supplied all the documentation that they require and every single time they come back and ask for something different. Each time they ask you for more documents, they add another 10 business days to the possible settlement date. The policy with Allianz is delay, delay, deny. They make their money by investing your money so the more time they keep your money, the more they make. They are incredible thieves and not to be trusted at all.

I bought Allianz Travel Insurance while booking tickets from Chicago to NYC, from Delta airlines website. The flight, however, got canceled due to a flash flood warning. I, therefore, contacted the Allianz customer care for a claim. I was very clearly directed about my next steps by a friendly representative. Delta Airlines rebooked my flight to a flight that departs next day. All my expenses related to living, transportation and food that I had to bear for spending one more day in Chicago, were refunded by Allianz within a week of my flight.

I purchased tickets through Ticketmaster and it gave me the option to purchase ticket insurance. I went ahead and made the additional purchase because the concert was going to be in Nashville (6 hours from me) and a couple of months in the future. A week before we were to leave, my father got sick and had to be admitted to the hospital. I wasn't going to be able to attend because this was going to be a family trip and he couldn't travel and he was close to dying so we needed to be close at hand until his health was better. I was concerned about losing almost $150 on tickets but couldn't see a way to make the concert. I went online and tried to file a claim with Allianz, but received an error message when I tried to complete the application. I then tried on my home computer and it also didn't work.
I contacted Allianz customer service and the lady emailed me the claim forms. By this time, I was more concerned because the concert was in a few days and I wasn't sure if it was too late. I filled out the forms and scanned and emailed them in. Another concern I had was the only real proof that I had concerning his hospital stay was the top copy of his hospital discharge papers which described his problems and it had his doctor's phone numbers and it was just a JPEG picture that I took. The weekend went by after I sent everything in and I hadn't heard from Allianz (I was expecting the worse and at least a response that I required further proof). Then a few more days went by and then I received a check in the mail for the full amount on my tickets.
When dealing with insurance issues such as this (I recently used insurance on an online purchase on an item that didn't work as expected and I received the "run around") I expected the worse. I was more so apprehensive when I hadn't heard from Allianz for a few days but I was more than pleasantly surprised at how easy this process was (albeit except the online claim process). I plan to use Allianz again for all my ticket purchases in the future. I didn't rate "5 stars" simply because the online claim didn't work and it didn't indicate there was a problem. This part needs to be reviewed and fixed as required.

I am so disappointed. Purchased flight insurance from Allianz through JetBlue. Immediate family member passed away, had to change flight. Sent all the documentation I was asked for. Still no repayment, +30 days. What is the point of insurance? Not only are we grieving our loved one but are now fighting to get insurance to pay for LITERALLY what we insured for. My VISA card carried their travel insurance. When Green Motion screwed me over in Iceland (demanding cdn $3600+ for a minor paint chip) I was assured VISA insurance would settle it. I have dealt with Allianz (who cover VISA) for 2 months now and they demand a piece of paper that Green Motion won't issue. Corporate criminals: Allianz, VISA, Green Motion Car rental. Needless to say that all documentation was provided: rental agreement, (ridiculous) cost estimate by a body shop, final bill from Green Motion. Allianz wants a CLOSED Rental Agreement. We filed a claim for stolen luggage the first week in June 2018. We are still waiting. Our rental car was broken into and luggage stolen while in Europe. I check every few days and am told to be patient. We filed the police report and list of items day we got back. Every time I call I feel as I am getting the runaround. We were even questioned on if the incident really occurred. We have picture documentation of the broken car window and an official police report filled in Italian. What could possibly be the issue? We were violated when our stuff was stolen and now by this company. We just want what we paid for and some closure to this situation. Feeling like I may never get it. The rental car company had a new car for us in an hour, I know it can be done better than this.

Will never use again - do NOT TRUST - could not use the online portal despite weeks of attempts. My fear is - what if this was a real emergency (not a medical claim)? What if I needed to be taken to a hospital and have the insurance operate straight away? I do not trust them. My experience in more detail: I paid for the policy through Teachers Health. I then got my certificate of insurance from Allianz Global. After some emergency dental treatment in Thailand, tried the ALLIANZ online claim portal. It didn't work on any of my devices, Thought it might be my iPad, so I tried my laptop (still no luck). Registered my policy and let me proceed through stages: 1: Your details 2: Trip Details 3: WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SELECT IN THE DROPDOWN MENU.
Sent about 10 emails, only 2 replied to. Got home and have been trying on my desktop (with different browsers etc) many, many times. Called them, in the morning and was advised by Merinda (who was very nice and apologetic) that her superior, John ** - told her the 'system was down' and they had only been alerted to this at that point (even though I have been trying for weeks). This is when I really realized that they were giving me the runaround. A huge company like this has only been alerted to the portal not working that day? B.S. I was sent a 9 page claim form to fill out. That's all well and good - I understand insurance companies need to prove the legitimacy of claims. I just want to know why my policy number would not work online. I was told to try again later that afternoon. Which I did, and it still didn't let me pass stage 3 on the portal.
I called up and once again explained my situation. (I wish I had got the rep's name - I think it was Sean? He was very confident and well versed in the content of my claim but could not actually give me reasons why the portal was not working for me.) I was told by the representative that he wasn't in I.T. so he didn't know why it was working. I asked if there were many policies that couldn't get past the third question and he stated that there are just some numbers that the 'system doesn't like'. He explained more about the policy claim - which was good but then - get this - he told me the IT guy was listening and came to whisper in his ear that the portal was now fixed, and that I should try, I did - and it didn't work. Tried again this morning - and decided that I will let other people know about this dubious practice of not allowing some claims to work on the portal.

I had a bag of new clothing stolen from my home and I made a claim on my Visa insurance because it was less than 90 days. Allianz has asked me to jump through unreasonable hoops to make this claim. First insisting I get a sworn affidavit saying that I do not have homeowners or rental insurance (cost: $35) and then insisting that I get paper copy of the police report sent to them (two trips to the police station and a cost of $55). Quite unreasonable for a $350 claim. This company is getting more and more corrupt, creating many barriers so that consumers aren’t actually protected by their supposed policy.

I bought the airline ticket and the insurance for my sister. Her name was on the ticket. When I filed the claim I requested that the check be made payable to me. However, it was made payable to sister. I mailed the check to her so she could cash it and then send me a check from her account. I would have preferred payment directly to me. But it's okay I guess.
I will never fly without your insurance again. The claim process was very friendly, very fast and excellent. As for my sister her doctor is investigating a possible cardiac event may have cause her problem. She is better but still has some spasms in her back. We purchased travel insurance for a recent trip to Scotland. The airlines cancelled our outgoing flight, delaying our arrival by more than 24 hours, thus missing our first night's stay at the hotel. The entire trip was pre-paid. When I filed a claim with all the documentation, Allianz said they don't cover pre-paid items. There is nothing in the booklet that stated this. The Customer Service rep was double talking me. And tried to twist the words of what the coverage was...again, there is nothing that states pre-paid items are not covered. Why would I have purchased trip insurance on a pre-paid trip? Nothing stated they did not cover such items. I will never purchase from this group again. Frustrating and I feel that we were hoodwinked.

In early May, we booked a trip on American Airlines to Arizona to meet family and friends from Chicago for a week in Sedona at the end of July. From there we were going to Chicago with them and flying back to Florida in August. The trip was booked as 3 separate one-way flights, fortunately all insured with Allianz. In late May, my husband went to the emergency room with what has turned out to be the start of a summer filled with doctor and hospital visits while they diagnose his ongoing kidney problems and decide what needs to be done. As a result, his doctor told us he should not travel and we canceled all 3 flights. I filed claims online, scanned and submitted the e-tickets online, called Allianz to find out what additional documentation would be needed, and got a letter from the doctor, which I also scanned and submitted online.
All the claims were reviewed and have now been paid. The insurance saved us close to $1000 in canceled airfares and everything was handled in a timely fashion. The list of necessary documentation on the website is very extensive, so I suggest calling the very helpful customer service people to find out what they need for a given situation. My only negative comment is that on all three submissions, I asked for direct deposit of the refunds, but for two, I was sent checks instead. The third actually was made via direct deposit. I have no idea why and decided since we received the refunds, it wasn't worth calling about. We're seniors and things happen, so we have been using trip insurance from Allianz for several years when booking flights and will definitely be using it in the future.

I've tried multiple times to submit a claim for this policy, both immediately after the event and today. I also sent an email concerning the error message I receive each time I attempt to submit: "An unexpected error occurred." What do I need to do?

I needed a doctor while traveling abroad. When I returned to the states, I filled out the required forms for the claim, attached the receipts. Filing was fast and easy. And I received payment within 2 weeks. I am very pleased and will purchase again when I travel.

The processing of this request was on the slow side. And on a previous land more complex request they at first denied some items without telling me which items they denied or why and which they approved or how much for each item. They should provide details and interim feedback.

As of mid August still no resolution. They do not assign one agent to one case as I have been referred to at least a dozen agents in at least 2 offices and given the runaround even though they committed to pay back in February.

I bought the insurance for a trip I had planned to London and Dublin. Everything went fine in Europe, but when I returned to the USA, the Philadelphia airport shut down for weather leaving me unable to complete the last leg of my trip back to my home in Nashville. Because the airport was completely shut down, there were very few hotel rooms available. The only room I could find was $400. The airline was not responsible since weather was the cause. Because I had been traveling for 21 hours and didn't want to spend the night in the airport I booked the hotel. After finally arriving home the next evening I looked at my policy and saw that it covered the expense of the hotel. I made a claim online on Monday and had my reimbursement by Saturday. It was so easy! Just make sure you keep your receipts.

I was stranded in London due to a hotel canceling on me within 24 hours of my arrival and in the middle of high season. I had to pay much more than my original booking in order to stay in the same area I was supposed to be in. When I returned to the USA, I filed a claim with Allianz. They paid me the difference within 10 days of me filling out the information. I used Allianz again on a trip to Bermuda and I'll use them for my next trip as well.

I purchased insurance for this trip as I am traveling with a 73-year-old and thought she may get injured before our trip to Glacier National. Well, joke is on me. I fractured my pelvis riding my bike. The Allianz paperwork was fairly easy and I received a reimbursement right away. I did not purchase insurance on my other two trips and I was charged $100 per flight to get a credit that I probably won't use as I won't be able to travel before it expires. I am trying to go through my visa card to see if I am protected that way. The paperwork was more difficult. My sister purchased her flight with her Southwest card and is out of luck for any reimbursement on West Jet and Delta (purchased through West Jet). Thank you Allianz. From now on, I will always purchased insurance.

It took about 45 minutes to scan 8 documents and put them in the correct sections. I would have been much easier to scan them all in only 1 document. Also, it would have been nice to get an email when the claim was approved as opposed to looking it up on the claim website.

After a significant flight delay of 20 hours, we needed to get a hotel room. I was hospitalized following a fractured back and was admitted to the hospital on July 5th. I was diagnosed with bone cancer and started chemotherapy on the 20th, therefore could not travel on the 17th - 20th. I sent documentation of my hospital admission... the actual billing info. The claim was held up because I needed a Note from a doctor. Since I had a fractured back and was getting chemo I did not want to have to do that, because I cannot drive and was so sick. When I called the first gentleman was nice but insisted that I had to have a doctors note. The oncologist knew nothing about my trip anyway.
I asked to speak to the supervisor and was transferred to a very nice man who listened to my story and talked with his manager. When he came back on the phone he said they would accept the current documentation and would send me the refund. Right now my I cannot remember the supervisors name but he was a very kind man and wished me luck in my course of treatment. I hope he is rewarded in some way and knows how greatly I appreciate him taking the burden away from me and easing my stress levels.

Have been treated for BP problems at home. We Live in Florida and we were out west at 6,000 to a little over 7,000 feet. I had talked with my doctor in Florida one afternoon to see if it would be alright to take an extra BP pill. A night or 2 later I had a very restless night with BP getting up into the 200 area. Decided to check it out. Bill was paid in a timely fashion by Allianz.

Had a great experience with Allianz, before during and after the unfortunate event. I had to call to get a copy of the policy and the customer service agent was prompt and courteous. When we got stranded, the concierge was ably assisting us at 2-3AM, and when I sent in the claim, the online form was very easy. The check was received very quickly as well.

I made plans to visit my grandchildren in Virginia in May/June by purchasing my flight in February and also included Travel Insurance. Two days before my flight my granddaughter was injured. She required surgery and extended care at home which her parents did not have enough days off to be able to do so I extended by visit by 2 weeks to provide care for my granddaughter. The flight change fee was $200 which is a lot for me since I am retired on a fixed income. Both Delta and Allianz were gracious and helpful in getting me a reimbursement for that cost. I provided the required documentation and within less than a month I received the check. Thank you so much for helping make a difficult time not quite as bad as it could have been!

In these days of overcrowded skies, travel insurance is a must. My husband and myself missed our connecting flight home due to airline delays. The airline rebooked us for another flight the following day and seemed amused by our request for food and lodging for the night. “Not their responsibility” was the party line. We ended up trying to find our way to a halfway decent hotel in a city unknown to us. We did succeed, though at a cost that practically exceeded the cost of our airline tickets. Happily, we were reimbursed for all our out-of-pocket costs and in a very timely manner. I would never travel without insurance now!

My flight from Jacksonville was delayed more than 8 hours because United did not have a crew. This caused our connections to be missed and delayed our flight to Australia for 24 hours. While United covered most expenses, we rebooked flights within Australia to make up for the delay. Total expenses were just over $800 but Allianz paid under flight delay and limited us to a $400 payment, $200 each for one day. The full circumstances were explained in the claim and if we should have filed under missed connections they should have told us.

My bag was delayed, and I had to purchase clothing and other incidental items. I called to open a claim while still at the destination. I submitted my receipts through email immediately. I called and emailed for follow up plenty of times, but in the end, it took more than 6 months for me to receive the money back from my claim. I did not receive a response through email or call, and only received a letter 6 months later.

Avoid this scam outfit of an insurance company. They avoid paying out at any costs by deluging you with paperwork and repeated requested for months with the same requests. After providing the requested documents several times, they then claim they only cover lost or delayed luggage and not stolen items, even though Mastercard claims they do. Mastercard should be ashamed to be associated with this scam of an insurance company. Do NOT trust Mastercard to provide you with the correct information as well. For your peace of mind AVOID these guys and find another insurance company that covers what you need and is reputable.

I am in the process if appealing a denied claim. Not honoring my claim was very discriminatory. My husband is firefighter and a veteran of the United States army, he suffers from PTSD and bipolar disorder. He had no way of knowing that he would be hospitalized during our travel dates. We saved our hard earned money to take a trip and now we cannot go because of your discriminatory practices. I feel as if your company has stolen from me and also made a mockery of my husband's illness. I DID NOT cancel the trip simply because my husband has/had a mental illness. The claim was filed due to him being HOSPITALIZED. A person cannot travel if they are hospitalized and not released for travel. After reading the reviews of other people, it seems like this company is having consumers purchase policies that will do us no good if we ever attempted to use them. It only looks good on paper and if no emergency occurs. Very disappointed!

Attn: Customer Relations Department, Allanz CEO's, etc. Re: Additional Feedback for Allianz. I purchased this travel insurance to cover emergency situations and potential changes in travel. I was coming home from my husband's surgery before I purchased my plane ticket. I was exhausted and overlooked the date on the ticket, quickly realizing my error. I felt relief that I'd bought travel insurance through Allianz, because there was no way I could fly less than a week after my husband's surgery. He would be bedridden for 2 weeks! I quickly reassured myself that there would be no problem, because the travel insurance covers situations like this --- especially individuals in medically complex situations.
However, this was not the case. Allianz denied my claim almost a month later, due to a "preexisting" clause. Because my husband was sick BEFORE I purchased the ticket, I would receive no benefits. I cannot imagine how many people are being taken advantage by your company - especially elderly individuals too tired and overwhelmed to complain. It is unethical and sickening that insurance companies, like Allianz, make money by playing between the fine lines of policymaking, instead of helping normal, average people recover their expenses in medically complex situations.
To say the least, I will never buy travel insurance through Allianz in the future, and if there are any means to voice my complaints to the public (which I am the type of person to RARELY complain -- have been known to eat an alternate meal, due to waitress' error, without complaint - kind of person). I will complain about Allianz and this situation. So sad.
