Thank you much for the refund for the airline tickets. We have traveled a lot over the years and this our first time we had to use the insurance. On future trips, we will purchase your travel insurance again. We appreciate your quick response to our claim.

In August three members of my family were to come to Greensboro N.C. to celebrate my grandson's Bar Mitzvah. My son and my significant other were both hospitalized and could not attend. I notified Allianz and they were helpful detailing everything I had to do to received refunds for the cost of their flights. Unfortunately in October my significant other was hospitalized for a totally different problem. Therefore, we could not attend his granddaughter's wedding. Again Allianz was helpful in response to my claim and quickly mailed out the check. I have told others who I know to use this company for insurance purposes whenever they travel. After ten years of using them this is the first and second time I have needed their services. So happy they are sensitive to my needs and gave me quick service.

Payment: Allianz was very quick to get back to me when I filed a claim. I sent in the required paperwork the very next day. When they asked for more paperwork from the doctor I sent that in. Two months have went by and I have not yet received a check.

My wife and I had to cancel our cruise to the Panama Canal when she came down with a neck problem. Allianz was very professional in helping us recoup our money for the cruise. In dealing with the claims personnel they were very helpful.

Don't normally take out travel insurance, but did for our Hawaii trip as we booked months in advance. I ended up getting sick the night before and was unable to get on a plane. I submitted my claim along with supporting documentation and it was paid immediately for the airfare. I have also submitted the lodging but have not heard back yet.

My husband developed a serious back problem requiring surgery. He would be unable to fly on our scheduled date. I sent in the required information and documents and received a check for our flights. This was done in a timely fashion. The people we spoke to were very helpful!

We were scheduled to go to Panama City, Florida the same time Hurricane Michael hit the area. I canceled my hotel, car, and flights the Sunday before because of the storm warnings on the national news. I called Allianz and they sent me all the information I needed to submit a claim. It was really easy, it was all done online and my claim was paid in a couple weeks. Great company, always get flight insurance, it's worth it.

Resolving a claim from insurance purchased on a trip. I do not have the policy number. I submitted a claim for a doctor visit while on a cruise. Your company paid my bill fast, accurate and was very accommodating. I would not go on a trip without your insurance.

Two weeks before a highly anticipated trip, my husband became ill. I decided to cancel my trip. I got my policy numbers and proceeded to the process for refunds. I was so pleased that the information on the phone, and the information sent to me was pretty simple. In about three weeks I received my refunds. I am grateful for tip insurance, and the ease in handling the process.

My wife and I recently took a trip to Bali. My wife suffered a skin rash that had to be treated by a physician. My wife became extremely ill just 2 days before we were to leave for Boston, and remained in bed for 3 days, along with another 10 days of slow recovery. We were glad we had paid for the Allianz travel policy, which covered us completely for the $200 in travel cancellation penalties we had from JetBlue, and another $50 that AVIS charged us for canceling our rental car. After providing proof of the cancellation charges, it was about 10-14 days later that we were reimbursed for the losses.

Amtrak canceled my trip during hurricane. Allianz response was timely and I got a full refund. I made several calls to get questions answered. All customer reps were easy to deal with and all my questions. I will continue to elect Allianz for travel insurance. Thanks.

We had to cancel our vacation because I had fallen and ruptured my left quad tendon which required surgery and a long rehab which is still happening. We contacted Allianz through Interval International, made our claim and received 100% of the cost of our pre-paid trip. We expected to need a physicians report but it turns out it wasn't needed. It was nice to have the peace of mind that I hadn't flushed our money down the toilet. The claim was paid quickly with no fuss or hassle which we appreciated at this point because of all the things we were going through with my injury. Thank you.

I am grateful for the reimbursements for our expenses caused by flight cancelations by Delta due to Hurricane Florence. I am also concerned that requesting receipts/documentation of expenses be uploaded when filing online are lost since a claim number is not assigned until the claim is filed. This makes no sense to me and should be corrected in your process. I had to resubmit all documentation with claim number on each, a month or so later and after I contacted Allianz to ask about the status of our claim. The CSR said all initial supporting information goes into cyberspace without a claim number on each one. I didn’t get a claim number until after I submitted the claim with supporting documentation attached??

Another good experience with Allianz. My husband's passport was lost or stolen in Zagreb, Croatia, in September 2018. Got a replacement at the U.S. Embassy for $145. Filed a claim with Allianz when we returned to the U.S. and we very quickly received a check for $145. Two years ago I broke my leg just before a trip with nonrefundable prepayments in four figures. Allianz handled that reimbursement seamlessly, as well. Highly recommend this company for trip insurance.

I had to cancel a couple of flights when my husband's cancer grew in his leg causing him to be non-ambulatory. I am his only caretaker. Allianz reimbursed me expediently after I submitted the information. I might add that my other flight insurance did nothing and required a lot of hoop jumping including giving permission to dig into all my husband's medical records. Allianz asked for the essential info and sent the check. I would use you again.

It would be nice if the person actually paying for the airfare would have the option to have the claim check sent out in their name versus the name of the person on the ticket. I just feel like if I’m the one that pays for the ticket, the refund should come directly to me.

We always buy travel insurance for any larger trip, but have never had occasion to make a claim. The proof is in the pudding, as they say, and Allianz pleasantly surprised us. Our initial flight home to the US at the end of a river cruise in Germany did not take off, and we were routed with a different carrier and different schedule, with different airports here. None of our delays was over the policy limits (6 hours), but we missed a flight we had scheduled ourselves on Alaska airlines. We had to store those miles, but there is a $125 change fee per person to use them later. That is all we asked for from Allianz, and after about 11 business days, the $250 was deposited to our bank account, no further questions asked! (Of course, we had supplied all the documentation of the messy flight situation and Alaska fare rules). We were very happy and will not hesitate to use Allianz again in the future.

Insured cancellation of a Jetblue flight - My mom had to cancel because of medical reasons and Allianz refunded the cost promptly when I sent in the medical notes to them. It was easy working with Allianz. My mom is 85 years old and had a serious eye operation. I was refunded the money no more than 3 weeks after I submitted the proper forms requested by Allianz.

Unfortunately, due to a serious illness of my travel companion, we had to cancel a much anticipated trip to Antarctica. Because of the cancellation, the $500 deposit for the trip to the travel agent was lost. The Allianz person I contacted (Carlos) told me what I needed to submit when I filed a claim. He also told me since my travel companion was unable to file her claim, I could do it for her. Filing the claim was relatively easy. I did it online. Getting the verification from the doctor and travel agent took the most time. Once that was complete, I received the $500 from Allianz in a very timely manner. I would recommend this company for travel insurance.

Took longer than the advertised time to get our money. There was very little communication. I had to call in several times to figure out what was happening. The amount of money it paid out didn't even cover half of our new flight.

Allianz reimbursed the cost of my round-trip airfare to FL which I canceled because the return flight would of crossed paths with a hurricane. I was pleasantly surprised to receive full reimbursement about 2 or 3 weeks after requesting reimbursement. I recommend Allianz flight cost insurance to anyone who may think their trip may not occur due unforeseen events.

Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel our trip to Australia for medical reasons. Contacted Allianz, and they made it so easy for us to submit our claim. They went overboard to assist us. Within 2 weeks we had a check in hand for all of our expenses that we had paid. Does not replace the trip we were so looking forward to, however, getting a prompt reimbursement did ease the situation.

I was pleased with the timeliness of a reimbursement **. Both claims were filed together. I had to call about ** as that was missed. Once called, a check was received in a reasonable time. However, the full amount of the claim was not reimbursed and it is still under review. I would have rated 5 stars if full reimbursement for both claims were processed at once, without me having to follow up twice.

I purchased upgraded seats for our trip at an extra cost of approx $250.00. The flight insurance was purchased believing it covered all of the flight purchase, but we only received refund on the base price of the ticket. Seems pretty unfair. I'll look at other insurers for my next purchase.

After it took an extra 36 hours to get home... My cousin and I flew to Nevada from Connecticut for a family function. Getting home turned into a travel nightmare. Weather delays in both Dallas and Philadelphia forced us to spend an extra night in each city. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to fill out and submit my claim online for reimbursement of 2 additional nights of hotel and parking charges. It was very easy to converse with the Allianz customer service representative, who handled my case very professionally and provided all needed information and helped get refund quickly. Allianz service was helpful. When I called to inquire about getting travelers and also car rental insurance I had several questions about options. The person I spoke with was most helpful. Then, when we returned our car at end of trip to Scotland we were charged for some minor wheel rim damage that we hadn’t even noticed. I promptly sent off an email with request for refund along with car rental description and receipt. I was expecting I’d have to follow-up with phone call to Allianz upon return home. Nope. Instead, I received a check that fully covered cost of damages we’d been charged for, including admin fees. What a lovely surprise to have the claim so easily taken care of. I highly recommend Allianz for all your travel insurance needs!

I submitted all the paperwork and was approved Oct 19. Now it is Nov 10 still no refund check. I was told it was mailed and no response from Allianz. I would not recommend getting this insurance from Priceline. They are not very responsive.

I made my reimbursement claim almost a month and a half ago and still haven't received payment that was approved. The communication with Allianz has been lackluster at best. I never received any sort of email confirmation when the status of my claim was updated and was forced to actively seek reimbursement - which STILL hasn't come. My first check got lost in the mail, and Allianz was still unable to process a direct deposit to my checking account in spite of having been provided all the necessary information for such a transaction. Instead of rectifying the problem through a direct deposit, they were only able to send another check which would take yet another 10-14 business days to arrive. I don't see the point of purchasing this service if the claims cannot even be processed in an efficient manner.

This company just keeps sending paperwork for us to fill out. We fill it out, send it and more keep showing up, even the same papers we've already filled out. It's been over 6 months and they still haven't settled with the ambulance company or the hospital in Hawaii. Don't feel we can safely travel anywhere with their coverage, certainly not back to Hawaii. They'll just refuse service if we ever need it again...

I purchased a ticket for my girlfriend to travel. My name was on the billing but her name was on the ticket. Due to a death in the family, the flight was missed and I thought the claim would be rather clear cut. They wanted the death certificate, as expected, and I specified three separate times that the person who purchased the ticket was not the same as the person whose name was on the ticket, and that the refund should be made out to the one that purchased.
And about two weeks later, they send me notice that the check is coming to my address in the name of my girlfriend. I call their support and sit on hold for about a half an hour to have them tell me that they can't change who the check is made out to. OK, whatever. I ask if they can at least send it to the correct address, since she lives across the country, and they inform me that only the policyholder can change where the check goes.
The thing is, there is no piece of information she could give them that I didn't already give them in that phone call. I flat out told them "So, I could just go grab one of my female friends, tell her what to say and have her change the address and you'd never know the difference, but you can't let the person who PAID for the tickets do it?" "That's correct." A perfect example of allowing bureaucracy to override common sense. This had been a huge and completely avoidable headache and I will never do business with this company again.

Promptly handled my claims and settled one missed billing. Easy to file online and talk to on the telephone. Be prepared to scan your bills so that you can upload online. File all bills for your week under one claim, even if they are different dates and currencies.

I had purchased Allianz Travel Insurance through my travel agent and it is the worst experience as far as getting a claim done from start to finish. I had to cancel or change my travel plans due to my having surgery shortly before our travel dates but the doctor said she could not travel for like 8 weeks. I filled out the claim and provided a letter from the doctor stating she could not travel. It then took about 10 bus. days to tell me I needed more supportive documentation IE: when did she get diagnosed and payments, those kinds of things.
I felt it was too personal, so then I provide that and it takes another 7 bus. days to come to the conclusion that my claim is approved and I will get my deposit back. I or my travel agent had to keep asking when they should send you an update on your claim. Poor customer service in my book. I then requested that the money be direct deposited in my account because that was an option on the claim form and provided my routing number and account number, but Allianz strikes again, they sent me a check through the mail and I have yet to receive it. I chose the direct deposit because it was faster and easier on both ends but apparently not for them. I would not recommend this company to anyone due to the poor performance and handling of my claim that took way longer than what it needed to and their incompetence. Never again.

In my history flying connecting flights to get to Wenatchee, WA, I always find myself concern; hence taking out insurance all the time. This was one of those times, arriving in Seattle my connecting flight was cancelled and I was in a crunch to be at work my usual 5am the next day. I found alternative transportation and I am glad I took the insurance on my flight. My flight was cancelled and Allianz has been accommodating in refunding me quickly with my additional expenses accrued to get to my final destination.

I had a very detailed form to complete, including three pages for my doctor to fill out. I also had to include numerous forms, i.e., credit statements. I also included a letter from my oncologist. My sister also had to cancel her trip and did not have to do all of this. I was happy to receive my refund, but it was very time consuming.

Worst company ever, had claim for hospital in Ft. Myers, Florida January 2018 for $342.00. They still haven’t paid the hospital so they have put it to collections agency. I get 2-3 call month. After 9 months of not paying told by Allianz they are negotiating lower bill. They don’t care about insured credit ratings. Would not give a star but one to make comments.

On September 30, I received an email from Allianz: Claim number: ** asking me to "Please allow 10 business days for us to review this documentation." Twenty days have passed and this request for review of service is the first communication I've received from Allianz. I think my request was straightforward and very reasonable. I purchased 5 tickets from the Aer Lingus website for travel to Ireland. The night of travel, at the airport, my 15 year old did not want to fly. He had flown numerous times before no problems. He did not travel. I filed a claim which was denied. When I tried to discuss my point of view the representative could not engage in a response other than to say it was denied. My perspective is that airlines, in most cases will voucher or in some way rebook due to weather. They are responsible for mechanical failures so what is covered other than medical. Why get the insurance and no one reads the details in the rental car, airline and other agreements. They should have put it in bold what they cover, in simple plain to read coverage. I am contacting Aer Lingus now to see their opinion of the situation.

Was happy with the outcome. The insurance I purchased was very much worth every penny considered the amount of money I would have lost. Change flight plans due to illness. All of a sudden got terribly sick, I was in CA and I live in Florida. This was worse ever, scared of having to go to hospital, all I wanted was to get home to my Dr. so I had to change my flight earlier to get home. What I was having was a gallbladder attack, I did not realize how bad, but I am having surgery next week to get it removed. They were great to file my claim and they paid promptly. The reason I did not give a five star was because when I went to website to do a claim, I kept getting the message that I did not have a valid policy. When I called the first time I was not able to speak with a person. The second day I tried I was able to speak with someone. This person was very helpful regarding the forms and documents I needed. I submitted a claim and documentation for medical coverage, but after two weeks, my claim had not moved in the workflow to the review phase. I called the Allianz service line and the operator I spoke to was able to immediately escalate my claim. I found that it entered the review phase in the next two days and I received notice that the claim was settled within 7 days. The original wait was bad service (especially because it was unexplained), but I felt like the call center operator heard me, was authorized to act to resolve my issue and did so quickly.

We had a delayed suitcase, which contained all our clothes. We had to purchase an outfit each as the luggage did not get to our ship before we departed Copenhagen. I was lead to believe that I was getting full benefit of $1114.48 by Andy for my trip being delayed for 6 hours. We spoke for 19 mins and she said that both my daughter and myself would be covered in full. I called your company 5 times with the promise that a supervisor would pull the tape to see what was said, no one called me back. We were delayed by 8 hours and then our flight canceled. Had to stay in hotel and then drive back the next day. I was reimbursed for the hotel and the gas for the trip. I paid for two rooms but only one was covered. The firm was somewhat confusing as I wasn’t sure if it was a delayed trip or a missed flight. That would have helped to know how to choose. We couldn’t believe the coverage we got for $110!! I needed emergency brain surgery then had major internal bleeding from an ulcer. Three weeks in a Swiss hospital. Due to the hurricane on the east coast, we were not able to travel by car to our destination at the Waterside Resort in Roper, NC on September 16th thru the 23rd, 2018. We were not able to drive the route that would take us to our resort. We called and got confirmation that the resort was closed until further notice. We called Allianz Global Assistance and spoke with a representative and she gave us instruction on how to file our claim. We were pleasantly surprised to get our refund back within 7 days. A not immediate family member became suddenly sick and was hospitalized while I was in San Francisco, CA taking care of my sister's Estate. Paul had no friends or family in the Bay Area and was on his way home to AZ from China. His sister asked me to check in on him, and I willingly did so, knowing I would have to rebook my Alaska flight home to Portland, OR. Paul remained in the hospital for 4 days and then was driven home to AZ by a friend. I then rebooked my flight and paid the change fee, wondering if a non-immediate family emergency would meet Allianz's criteria for reimbursement. I submitted my information plus had documentation from Sutter Health Hospital for Paul's stay, and was pleased Allianz refunded the change fee charged by Alaska Air.

Long story short customer service is bad. They never call, email, text or send a letter stating they need additional documentation. They want you to automatically know what they need somehow. If you don’t check your claim daily you will never know. Why buy the insurance? If they can’t call you back put a letter in the mail. My event is Monday here it is Friday and still no response. Started claim on Sept 26. 12 days later no response. Had I not called yesterday I would have never known they needed another document. Come get your ** together!!! I will never opt for insurance ever again if they have anything to do with it. CEO Walter White I hope you review all of the bad reviews. It speaks volumes about your company!!!

I was booked to travel via American Express and got sudden chest pains and went for a stent in my heart. Emirates charged me and my wife and 2 children $800 each to postpone to the following week. My cardiologist letter and the actual hospitalization for 3 days receipts and other documents to prove why we all had to postpone the flights were submitted. To no avail. I was actually going to take care of my brother at the American Rehab Center in Dubai who was just recovering and I was held back due to my own heart ailment.
They declined to reimburse a single dime saying "oh well you had to have the Allianz insurance for at least 14 days" but it had been 12 days that I had to postpone my flight, waiting for my cardiologist to give me the go ahead to fly. I was in such a dilemma myself. The ruthless, merciless people working for Allianz declined my claim giving a stupid reason. I would not recommend them ever, they are thieves and don't come through for you. There are other companies that keep their word. Ask your travel agent. They know. Very inhumane and ruthless people.

This travel insurance policy covered everything it was supposed to. Our trip was interrupted due to inclement weather, and we had to spend an extra day in another city as a result. I submitted all necessary documentation, and received a check in the mail a few weeks later. I’m very satisfied and glad that I bought this policy!!

My experience with Allianz has been nothing short of a nightmare. I had to cancel a trip due to unexpected loss of employment. After months of jumping through hoops to provide them with more documentation than the U.S. Department of Labor required to collect unemployment insurance, they denied my $1,300 claim because I hadn't worked for my employer for 3 or more years. This wasn't noted anywhere in the fine print, nor is it reasonable to assume that losing a job after less than 3 years isn't a major life event. I will never use this company again and would urge everyone to avoid them at all costs.

My husband and I had insured our trip prior to leaving. Our trip was interrupted due to weather conditions, and consequently, we lost a day of travel and lost a day at our destination. During the delay, I contacted Allianz. They were specific regarding any documentation I would need to be reimbursed for my expenses. Following our return from our trip, I filed promptly, and Allianz reimbursed us fully for the expenses we had incurred. They were prompt and supportive. Purchased an insurance from Allianz. The trip got canceled. After a month a 5 phone calls they still "reviewing" the documents. It took them a second to charge my credit card and over a month to "review" the supporting docs.

Provided ALL requested information regarding trip cancellation due to family illness. Online claim form was completely filled out including doctor's name and phone number. Then a letter was requested to provide the following: "Proof of your visit or consult with a physician. Documents may include receipts, a visit summary or other documents related to the diagnosis and symptoms requiring treatment (reason for visit)." Other document was provided. Doctor's assistant, RN (nurse) ICU case manager who provided admission date, names and that family member's health was in decline.
They cannot give any other reason due to HIPAA laws. This was not good enough for Allianz. Then they requested letter from doctor as follows: "provide doctor’s letter that includes the diagnosis, date of the visit, the onset date and the doctor’s signature" Diagnosis in violation of HIPAA! Claim is solid and legitimate, in line with terms of contract. And they will not honor a $250 reimbursement for a $44 policy! Outrageous!

Purchased Allianz insurance through Alaska Air. Had to cancel trip due to admission of family member to ICU. Provided all requested and supporting documentation to Allianz, which included a letter from the ICU Case Manager as per hospital policy and at the direction of the patient’s physician. A second request by Allianz asked for a specific diagnosis and symptoms which required admission and physician signature. The letter from the ICU Case Manager contained all required information with the exception of diagnosis, which in violation of HIPAA law and physician signature. Allianz will not process claim without diagnosis or the doctor’s signature.

Long after our 14-day Carnival Cruise was booked and paid for, including Allianz Insurance, I was diagnosed with a serious illness and had to cancel the cruise. With help from our AAA Travel Agent, all of the paperwork was completed and submitted and we received a check for the balance of what we paid for the cruise and what the cruise company refunded shortly thereafter. Allianz is a first class company and we highly recommend insuring your trip with them every time you travel.

This claim was denied based on preexisting conditions. Based on your definition of preexisting conditions and my past surgeries, I will always have preexisting conditions and will therefore be uninsurable. Your definition of preexisting condition should be clearly stated BEFORE the customer takes out and PAYS for the policy since you REFUSE to refund the policy cost after denying the claim. I will never use Allianz again nor will I ever recommend Allianz to family, friends, or associates since I feels some deceptive business practices are utilized in the collection of premiums from unknowing, uninsurable individuals.

I was surprised by the depth of questions I was asked about my family emergency. Doctors names, hospitals, etc... That is really private information that should not be asked. And the amount of forms asked to submit. I was happy that the claim was paid though. My fault for not asking for complete reimbursement. I only asked for the fee of changing flights, but it was actually more than I submitted.

On our last trip, my husband had a problem and went to the medical facility on the ship. They took care of it, but the cost was about $270. My family and I were stuck for an extra 8 days in the Philippines due to a plane accident in MNL that canceled all flights including ours the night we were supposed to leave. I immediately called Allianz we were informed of the cancellation and I was assured that they would be there for us and reminded me of what our insurance covered. Upon returning, I submitted my claim with all the receipts and information that was asked and in about 2 weeks the money was in our bank account. What a relief! I was so worried about having to spend so much more money that we didn't budget for. It was stressful enough that we had to worry about missing work and the thought of my kids upcoming school year. I was exceptionally happy that I decided to use Allianz Global Assistance USA to insure mine and my husband's anniversary trip. We planned our trip back in early 2018 and I used Allianz to insure both our flight and our theater tickets. We thought the trip was all set, then along came Hurricane Florence and flights were being canceled and rerouted. We were advised by Delta to re-book or cancel our flights. No flights, no theater! Allianz took care of both the cancellation fee with Delta and reimbursed me for the theater tickets. Allianz is well worth the money!!!

My daughter flew to MN to escape the smoke and fires in Washington. I was going to go to WA to celebrate my 70th birthday with my daughter, 14 month granddaughter, her husband; my son, 18 month granddaughter and his wife. I had rented a house on Lake Chelan for three days for this celebration. Because of the smoke, my son and his family went to Hawaii and my daughter and her daughter came to MN on August 13. We would fly to WA together on August 24 for my birthday on August 28.
However, the smoke continued at a hazardous level of over 400 parts per million. There was a level 3 evacuation. We had no choice but to cancel the house and the flights. I had purchased insurance simply because my husband had been recently diagnosed with bladder cancer. He had two surgeries and was in a six week treatment. A lot going on for sure. Alaska canceled each of our flights for $125 each.
My daughter did not have insurance. We had purchased her ticket with miles. My circumstances did not fall under the usual reasons to cancel a flight, but I wrote a similar letter as I have written here. Allianz sent me a check for $125. I have a credit with Alaska to use within a year. All worked out. My daughter and granddaughter stayed safely with me here for five weeks. Thank you for responding and making it easy for the refund. I love Alaska Airlines and now will purchase insurance with Allianz because you never know what might happen.

I’ve bought travel insurance several times but never had to use it. We got struck by Hurricane Lane and had 3 policies and 5 travelers. Paperwork was a little tricky but Allianz covered up to policy limits and covered most of our costs. Had our money in a couple of weeks. Pleasant surprise. Easy to deal with.

I couldn’t believe I had my refund check within days of my claim submission, without strife or arguments, despite my making a technical blunder when ordering my airline tickets. It was actually a positive experience, albeit one I hope I don’t have to repeat!
