I'm surprised I received an email to rate my experience with my claim as I have yet to hear from anybody either by email or phone as to the status of my claim. I submitted over 2 weeks ago and have heard absolutely nothing so I am as of now 'very unhappy'. That could change if my claim is resolved here soon, but since there has been no contact attempted on your part I'm guessing nothing will change.

Allianz did what they said, they insured my flight. I was able to process a claim and receive a refund. I needed to collect the relevant documentation from doctors and the airline, but once that was done it was an easy process online to fill out a form and upload forms. The agents were super nice and helpful. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone who travels. I recommend airline insurance as it gives peace of mind in the event of an emergency.

My last flight of the day was canceled due to an airport closure; I had to stay the night at the stop-over city. Since it was not an airline problem (it was an airport problem), Delta did not pay for the hotel stay. Allianz covered my hotel bill. I created a claim online, submitted the report from Delta, the claim was approved, and I was refunded the money. Easy.

I thank God for you. When I made out my own AA airline tickets this time, your insurance icon popped up. This alerted me to take out travel insurance at your very reasonable price. I let BB&T Rewards make out a trip to San Diego last year through their travel agency. They didn't let me know about the travel insurance. I had to cancel the AA flight because of health reasons. In spite of Medical letters from my doctors, AA wouldn't refund the cancellation fee of $400. I have never in my surgical career charged a patient if his surgery had been canceled. Not ethical. I always take out Medical and Evacuation insurance when I travel to Africa. I deposited your very surprising and generous refund in my 501c self funded charitable account DR GORDON ** SURGICAL VOLUNTEERS IN WORLD MEDICAL MISSIONS which is for the poor people in Africa. I must admit, in the past I purchased Allianz insurance for a vacation, which I had to cancel to care for my mother, but they did not reimburse me for the trip. I was therefore reluctant to use them again, but as they are affiliated with Alaska Air, I thought I'd give them another try. Although my mother's failing health caused us to cancel our trip again, this time Allianz provided reimbursement for the trip. Thank you, Allianz!

I purchase flight insurance in order to allow for necessary cancellations. I had to cancel a flight due to what I consider a family member's medical condition. My claim was denied. Apparently your 'fine print' does not consider hospitalization for substance abuse a medical condition. Really?? I will NEVER purchase this worthless insurance again! I don't know how much money I have wasted over the years. I sincerely doubt I will get a response but be assured anywhere that a rating can me made for your company, I will make my feelings known.

My husband and I take our anniversary in Las Vegas every year. This year I am unable to travel because of my doctor’s orders. I am still unable to travel but luckily we purchased Allianz Global Insurance. All we had to do was file a claim and in a short time we were compensated for our airfare with no hassle. Don’t buy travel insurance from this company -- you are wasting your money. We spent over $900 on travel insurance for two people but weren’t covered for anything when our travel agency went bankrupt halfway through our trip. If you read the fine print (which I will explain more of below), Allianz travel insurance ends up being useless and essentially a scam. After you “choose” a plan and spend time providing detailed information about yourself and trip, you receive an intentionally misleading email and policy card.
Both show a list of various coverages, such as “Trip Interruption”, “Lost/Stolen Baggage”, etc., which fool you into believing you are protected from common travel mishaps. Wrong. In reality, you aren’t protected against the vast majority of things that are likely to be problems on a trip. With so many pages of exclusions and conditions in their policy fine print, you are more likely to get hit by lightning than meet their requirements to make a claim.
Here is some of the fine print explained and why their travel insurance is a joke: 1) Lost or stolen baggage: The following personal items are NOT covered by Allianz: sunglasses, eyeglasses, cosmetics, medicines, tickets, passports, money, credit cards, and keys. For jewelry, laptops, and electronic items, you MUST have original receipts for these items or you get NOTHING. Even with receipts, there is a maximum of $500 coverage in total (does your laptop cost less than $500? ). For any other items (which are essentially just clothes now), you will receive only 75% of current market value (which is probably around $5 for a typical pair of pants or shirt).
2) Travel agency goes broke: You get NOTHING unless the travel agency is specifically named on their “supplier list.” However, you won’t see the list of their suppliers until after you purchase the travel insurance. More importantly, Allianz won’t notify you if your travel agent isn’t on the list, as one would expect. As far as they’re concerned, you not noticing this is your problem. Keep your fingers crossed that you are using one of their identified suppliers -- there is a strong chance you aren’t. Even if your travel agent was on the supplier list when you bought the insurance, they could be removed from the list by the date your trip begins. If they’ve fallen off the list, there’s nothing you can do, and you won’t be covered or reimbursed.
You get NOTHING unless you purchase the insurance at the same time you make your initial trip payment (i.e., within 14 days). For example, if you reserve your trip a year in advance and then buy your travel insurance a few months later, you aren’t covered. You get NOTHING if your travel agency goes broke before the seventh day of your trip. They have to remain financially solvent until you're on your eighth day of traveling.
As you can see, it is next to impossible to meet all the travel insurance claim requirements if you experience a problem. In my opinion, before you hand over your hard-earned money to Allianz, talk to your credit card provider, your airline, and your health insurance company. You will more likely be covered by them if there is a problem than by Allianz.

Very fair and true to their compensation policy. Compensation was very quick and easy. Document upload was very easy to perform. However, I kept all my receipts and had records of what to submit. I would recommend that a statement be sent to each policy user reminding this should they need to submit a claim later.

I purchased a travel insurance policy from Allianz Global for a recent trip to Haiti. The length of our trip was cut short due to possible violence as a result of political unrest. The airline charged me over $400 to change my return flight. I submitted the charge to Allianz Global when I got home. They processed the claim promptly and without hesitation. I will definitely purchase another policy from Allianz Global for future travels.

I got reimbursed for a taxi I was forced to take when American missed my connection in Miami and I had to go to Santiago instead of Puerto Plata. From Santiago I had to take a taxi to Puerto Plata since I got in so late.

I submitted 6 claims for my traveling party of 11 people for reimbursement of airline tickets. Only 2 have been processed and 1 of these was for the incorrect amount. I talked to a representative of Allianz about this on December 10, 2018, and was told that Allianz would notify me of the status of the other claims within 48 hours; I have not heard anything as of today, December 15. I sent in my claims in a single package with appropriate documentation for each claim and a cover letter describing the situation, including that all correspondence and claim checks were to be sent to me since I had paid for the vacation of all 11 people. Apparently, the Claims Department did not understand my cover letter or they were supposed to process all 6 claims. I definitely would like to hear from an Allianz agent to both understand the situation and correct all issues.

When I filled out the online claim form, it noted that I would be contacted in 7 to 10 days. 14 days went by and then I called. After an hour of being placed on hold on and off, the person seemed to be surprised that I was still on the line. She finally told me what I needed to do. After all that, I only received half of the amount I requested. Will probably not purchase travel insurance from your company in the future.

JetBlue did some sort of weird autofill on my ticket when I put in my mother as an alternate contact - as a result, my travel insurance policy was sent to her email address, under her name. Taylor was very helpful in assuring me that the policy was indeed mine, and re-sent it to my email. Your agents are very accessible, unlike those of AIG or other trip insurance carriers!

My issue was resolved within two weeks. I am so glad that I bought this insurance, especially with this company, and that the issue was able to be resolved so quickly. Would definitely purchase insurance with this company again. I used the telephone service first, which directed me to submitting my claim online. That was great advice as the claim went through much faster submitting evidence online than it would have over the phone. Phone service was also quick. I cancelled our trip including our American Airline Tickets due to my illness. American Airlines would not refund our money, they would only reschedule. I will be filing a complaint with the Montana Insurance Commissioner and Attorney General. I purchased your product in good faith and on the recommendation of Alaska Airlines. Somehow I was only refunded for 1 ticket that was a part of my files claim. When I called to ask about the other ticket, they said I needed military orders. I told them several times I did not have any sort of military orders because there was simply no change in orders! I simply had to stay longer at work because of requirements with the navy. In this case, there’s no such thing as military orders. How did I get only a partial refund back, then I needed orders for the next ticket That doesn’t make sense. I will not use this insurance again. This was after talking to two separate people.

Collision Insurance/Payment to Hertz - Claim was filed on 11/20/18 and there is still no decision. I have received two additional emails requesting information that I already provided. When I check status on the website it continues to state that the claim is still being processed and is missing documents that have already been provided twice. I never received an incident report from Hertz regarding the accident but I did forward everything else that was required. Not very happy right now. Would really appreciate a resolution. Thank you.

I wanted to give less than 1 star to them but option is not available. This is one of the worst insurance company and customer care is pathetic. They don't know anything except transferring the calls from one person to another. I submitted my claim for Trip interruption in the month of August and have been told that claim will be processed with 10 business days if everything looks good. Now more than 4 months passed and I called them almost 10 times in between and getting the status as claim pending with verification team they will process within 3 days. They wasted my 4 months and still no payment. Today when I called as asked for the time frame, I got the answer that there is no time frame for the verification team to close the claim. THIS IS SCAM! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY BY BUYING INSURANCE FROM THEM.

I purchased travel insurance from Allianz through Expedia when booking my flight. My car broke down on route to the airport and I missed my flight. 'Section 8' of their policy stated that I was covered for up to £500 under Missed Departure due to car break down. They refused my claim on the basis of their 'Section 9' Delayed Departure caused by me not checking in! This is a nasty cynical company that cherry-pick their terms and conditions to avoid honoring their financial commitments. AVOID BUYING THIS INSURANCE AT ALL COSTS!

Do not, I repeat, do not buy flight insurance from Delta. It is a complete scam. We bought first class tickets from Minneapolis to Cancun. Oddly, they were nonrefundable, so we decided to take out insurance as the flight was 9 months out. Between then and now, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. That was bad enough. When I called Delta, they referred me to Allianz Global Assistance. The name is super deceiving as there has been no assistance. Only one ask after another. I have provided them flight information, purchase information, doctors information and still they want more. Now they want proof that Delta didn't provide a refund. How do I prove that? I bought the insurance from Delta and they are the ones who referred me to them.
You would think they have some type of relationship. I guess it is a financial one only, where both make money and we get screwed. Additionally, they want all receipts from our providers that prove she has breast cancer. This after our doctor confirmed via letter that she was under his care for breast cancer and could not travel. So now I have to make a number of other calls and inquiries. Something they could easily do on their own as we have provided them the contract information for our medical team and I assume, big assumption, that they have some type of relationship with Delta. Anyway, don't waste your money! It is becoming very clear we wasted ours. Not to mention the $1000+ that we lost on the tickets.

I originally chose Allianz because the coverage offered and price were better than that offered by other companies. Then when my baggage was damaged in travel, Allianz's response to my claim was prompt and positive. In all, I am pleased.

Flight went to a different town because of hurricane. This is the second time in two years that we have had to use insurance. It has been very easy for the requirments that your company request. The only issue I had was that your fax number didn't work either time. It wasn't really bad. I had to mail them in so it only took a couple of more days to get an approval.

I filed a claim with Allianz to see if a refund would be possible due to medical concern. I did not hold out much hope that a refund would be made. After submitting all the necessary paperwork and waiting a few days I received confirmation that the refund had been approved and that a check was being sent to our house. I had heard some negative feedback concerning these type of policies. This was the first time that I had to use a trip cancellation policy. Very happy with the results and very satisfied with the way that Allianz handled my claim for me. Will use again for future travels.

Due to illness involving temperature we had to cancel a trip to the UK to see a dear friend get married. No redo possible! Since I cancelled a week before the event, my hotel, private car, and flight reservations were cancelled with no penalty. To get the 160K miles added back to my frequent flyer account cost $175, which I paid. For some reason I had purchased travel insurance months ago for this trip, first time ever after many overseas trips. It covered up to 200 for frequent flyer costs. I entered my claim online, uploaded my airline itinerary. I snipped the charge to my credit card and uploaded. Then I got a note from my doctor, scanned it, and uploaded it. Within 10 days my claim was processed and I was issued a check. Easy peasy!!

My issues with Allianz Global insurance: 1. Customer Service is not familiar with insurance practices or their own policies. They are certainly not certified to handle insurance policies. I could not have an intelligent conversation with customer service because I knew more than they did. I read the policy, they did not. 2. They allowed the company I went through to cancel my policy without my permission or knowledge. They did not verify who cancelled the policy and had no record or who cancelled it. 3. They cancelled my policy the day after I incurred my loss. They would not cover the loss.

I started to complete my policy claim for four lost items on my European trip. I had put in the two things in Greece and then it did not allow me to go any further. I called and was advised to write in to your company with the full details of all four items and the cost plus to show receipts. Which I did. I received a check for the original $91 I think it was but have never received a check for the difference between the complete amount and the amount paid.

Once Panama City was hit by Hurricane Michael, the place we were staying at was totally demolished. Their response and assistance with my care in a third world hospital was tremendous. It was a great relief to know someone was following my care and listening to my concerns. I had a little trouble with the claims process because I didn't understand that I needed to coordinate with Allianz's office in the U.S. and tried sending my medical bills to the office in Canada, which was the office from which I received help while in the hospital. The office in Canada could never find my claim information so I thought it wasn't getting there and I was very frustrated. Once I contacted the U.S. office things went much smoother.

One of our travelers could not make the trip due to an urgent surgery, so we filed a claim to be compensated for his flight expenses. Since I was buying a no frills, no cancellation budget ticket I bought the travel insurance from Allianz. The price was low and at the time of purchase the risk was low I would need it but boy am I so happy I did. Missed my return flight due to a canceled connecting flight. The Allianz website was fairly easy to use to file my claim. However, I did not get a response or approval/denial within the 7-10 business days. I had to call the company three times to check on my claim after the 7-10 business days. My claims representative was never available and never contacted me even though I was told twice that they would be contacting me. Finally after 14 business days my claim was approved but their specialist never contacted me. I was dissatisfied with the claim representative never being available, being outside their promised approval time, and never contacting me. I wouldn’t recommend this company to others based on their customer service.

Due to family medical problems with the person I was traveling with, our trip had to be canceled. My son and I purchased airline tickets to Boston to attend Game 6 of the World Series. We realized there was a chance the game would not take place if the series didn't go 6 games. The Red Sox won in 5 games, so we processed a request with Allianz for a claim. They denied our claim stating this was not a valid reason. The NUMBER ONE item on the list of what the policy includes is "Trip Cancellation... Your Trip is cancelled or Interrupted". Very Disappointing Experience. Don't waste your money on this policy!

Disgusting company. Disgusting practice. Intrepid Travel recommends them, and I'm thinking maybe I'll never use Intrepid Travel again, because they set their clients up to be scammed. I went through the long version of a plan search, reading through all the plan documents, comparing websites, checking prices and coverage. I settled on a plan with this crooked company that cost $140. I'd already entered all my basic information. Then I had to fill in all the details - specific credit numbers, zip codes, whatever. My trip details were exactly the same. At the end of it, I hit submit on my $140 payment, and the page reloaded: "YOUR PRICE HAS CHANGED. PLEASE HIT SUBMIT TO PAY THE NEW PRICE." Or some message to that effect.
$452. They lied to me to get me to waste 45 minutes reading through plan documents and making sure I had all the coverages I needed. After I committed, they more than tripled the price. Someone needs to bring a class action lawsuit against a company like this. Hopefully by sharing experiences like these we can help deny business to companies with dishonorable and unethical practices.

11/20/2018 I am very upset with myself that I did not check BBB before purchasing a trip interruption policy with Allianz. Shame on me. I called in today to check the status of a claim and was rudely treated and disrespected by an Allianz associate. While on vacation with my family of 6 my son was injured and could not fly home for two weeks due to an eye injury. I called the Global Assistance hotline the day of the injury and was told we were covered and my wife and son would get a daily allowance to cover accommodations, food, rental car, and gas. As instructed I submitted all receipts. Now I'm told that those expenses are not covered however, I could appeal. We were also told that the flights that were interrupted may be considered for reimbursement but there are no guarantees. This company has misrepresented themselves and in my opinion, maybe conducting fraud and taking advantage of consumers. Unacceptable Allianz.

The first phone I made I was told about the HOOPS I needed to follow to get the price of my ticket back. She was hard to understand and told me I needed to submit a copy of how I paid for the ticket. I told her that I didn't keep my VISA receipts for 9 months and she said that's what I needed to do. I WAS SO UPSET. I waited a couple of days and called back and this kind lady told me I could just show the check that I paid the VISA company. THAT I COULD DO... I gathered all the information needed and faxed it to you and in less than 6 weeks I got my check for the full amount of my plane ticket. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I am totally disgusted by the discovery this morning that we are unable to utilize our comprehensive policy with Allianz. It is appalling that if the death was in Australia a claim would not be an issue, but because my father’s death was in the US this changes the circumstances and ability to claim travel change costs etc. This is not only unethical but morally unacceptable.
I hope that you, or those in your business are never placed in the same position that you have placed us in. Not only are we dealing with the death of our patriarch (who served his country for 40+ years), planning his cremation and memorial and also supporting his wife of 61 years (who’s 80th birthday is also today by the way), now we need to deal with this additional disruption to getting us back to Australia. This will be the last ever premium Allianz will receive from us both here and in the US, and we will be revisiting our house, contents and car policies on our return.

It's a scam. Had a triple bypass surgery. Filed claim. Submitted paperwork and followed up with physician who submitted all the required paperwork. Was terribly sick and forgot all about it. Sent an email that I was too sick to keep up with what was going on. They replied that they understood and would take care of it. Went back through spam and trash in my emails and never found out why claim was denied. Received a survey request (found in spam folder six months later) but that was it. If a triple bypass is not good enough for a refund I cannot imagine what would qualify.

We claimed losses caused entirely by the 6.5 hr. delay in departing from Charlotte, which delay was caused by mechanical malfunction of our American Airlines plane. The collision insurance premium was reasonable, and the online claim filing process was done without any difficulties. My rental car was vandalized, and next day I called and reported the incident since "If you incur a loss, you must contact us immediately so that we can arrange for an insurance adjuster to assess the damage," the certificate of insurance said.
When I talked to a telephone rep, he asked me the estimate of the damage and said he could not process without the estimate. I returned the damaged car to the rental car company on the day the car was vandalized. No way to get an estimate that soon. The rental car company send me a bill 6 weeks later and I paid the bill, and finally I could file a claim. The rep did not mention anything about an adjuster. I don't think that an adjuster had been sent to assess the damage.

I was impressed with how quickly the claim was processed. In addition, impressed that you honored the contract! My only dissatisfaction I had changed address for check to be sent but that did not get processed correctly, therefore took about 1 week longer to receive the check.

I had second thoughts about buying insurance for my trip to Colombia. However, when my host fell ill and was unable to receive me, the plans where scratched. Allianz came through without any hesitation. I supplied them with the medical proof certifying my host was ill and that was it. Will always use Allianz.

I was satisfied when I recently received a check for my claim. In fact, I was a bit surprised. The person I talked with on the phone at the time I made the claim was hard to understand and I had the strong impression that she only wanted me to talk about my cancellation discussion with Delta. I told how that went and, repeatedly and firmly had to ask her, "What does the money I paid for insurance cover?" She did not want to answer or process my claim but finally told me what I had to do. That part was difficult and I think she just wanted me to go away. Anyway, I did get a coverage check and was glad about that. Your submission process needs to be much easier.

We took insurance for a trip to Europe for my family if and I. Unfortunately our flight out of Charlotte, NC was delayed one day due to a hurricane. We contacted Allianz and were instructed about the paperwork that would be required to file the claim. The paperwork was filed when we returned home from our trip. A check was received at a fair reimbursement about 3 to 4 weeks later for the one day delay. My wife and I are happy with the service received and the reimbursement. This was our first experience with seeking a refund from trip insurance and I would recommend in the future to others. Reasonable rates.

I live in the panhandle of Florida and when Hurricane Michael was coming I went to Mississippi because my area had a mandatory evacuation. I was supposed to fly to Philadelphia on the Friday after the hurricane, upon calling American Airlines to cancel my flight (I couldn't get out of Mississippi so I didn't want to take up a seat on a flight for someone who could leave the area) they were not helpful at all and weren't kind. I, thankfully had gotten insurance through Allianz and they were very helpful and sent me a refund check for my flight very quickly. I highly, highly recommend getting insurance through them and am extremely pleased with my experience. Thank you!

I am appreciative of the online submission option. In my opinion, the process would be a little less tedious if one were able to submit all documents at once as opposed to having to upload each document separately. Otherwise, the process was relatively simple and the response time was great!

This was the first time I have ever taken out insurance. Why this time I don't know. These people are wonderful. I fell and hurt my kneecap. It was swollen all the way to my ankle. (Still is after 2 months). I filed with this company and I believe it was a week or less after they received the paperwork I received my check. Full amount. I was going to call and thank them, but never got it done. This was an answer to a prayer, because I am on a limited income. Highly recommend.

I purchased travel cancellation insurance for my wife and I for a domestic Australian flight 2 months prior to departure. My wife's mother had a stroke a few weeks before we were due to leave. My wife stayed behind as a result. I submitted a claim for a reimbursement of my wife's ticket but it was refused because my wife's mother was not born in Australia. I again put in a claim for the cost of my wife's ticket and it was reviewed. It was again refused. I once again placed my claim in the disputes process. My claim was refused for a third time. The reason for the rejection of the claim was because my mother-in-law was not born in Australia. Absolutely ridiculous. This company has no goodwill and is parasitic in its nature. I will not be dealing with them in the future.

Allianz did an excellent job providing travel reimbursement for a trip that we had to cancel at the last minute due to an illness. We called the company and they gave us specific directions to follow and we received our refund in a timely manner. We will use this company again in the future!

The website was fairly easy to use and I was able to upload all the required documents easily. The claim was paid promptly, no questions asked. It probably was useful that I had included a spreadsheet detailing what I had paid, what was credited and when, what was non-refundable and the total of the claim.

My sister and brother in law invited me on a trip to New England to see the fall foliage, but because my brother in law needed to have open heart surgery we had to cancel the trip. I needed to change the dates on my flight to be there for his surgery and help out, but the airline charged a change fee. My sister had purchased the insurance for the trip which in turn is why I was refunded for the change fee. The whole process went very smoothly and I appreciate your taking care of everything in a timely manner. Yes, I would recommend your company to my friends for their travels. Thank you.

Did not receive the outcome intended but somewhat satisfied with the final outcome. AA delayed my trip by more than 14 hours and I only was compensated for the four hour hotel room fee I incurred. I feel they are liable for 1/2 my flight due to their error.

In June of 2018 I purchased travel insurance from Allianz Travel Insurance Company. I used them for several of my trips. About a month before my departure date in November my wife suffered a nervous breakdown and required hospitalization. I canceled my trip and submitted a claim for reimbursement. My claim was denied because mental health was an exclusion. I immediately sent an appeal and was turned down again. I admit it was my fault for not reading the policy before purchasing it but my wife did not have pre-existing conditions at the time of purchase.
I also had called their customer service department and was greeted with what I call a disinterested tone of voice. Certainly not friendly or cheerful. I'm writing this to let people know if they suffer from any mental health disorders they should be careful before purchasing a travel insurance plan from this company or any travel insurance company. After reading their list of exclusions I'm not sure what they cover. So as they say let the buyer beware.

The customer service for Allianz was outstanding and they are a company of integrity. We had delayed luggage and a travel delay and they were very efficient with processing our requests. Whenever we travel in future, we will use Allianz. They help take the worry out of travel.

I called to check status of refund. Found out the check was being sent to my FL address. Agent said it would not be forwarded (it was) and cancelled the check. I called 3 more times. Was given incorrect info until I spoke to Pedro last Wednesday. He took my bank info and said I should have the money in my account on Friday. It is still not there!

I had to submit a claim. I used customer assistance and on-line. The individuals I spoke to were courtesy and informative. They answered all my questions accurately. I then use on-line and it also was very easy to navigate. Most importantly, everything said and emailed were precisely what I had to do to be reimbursed for my loss. I will recommend Allianz and I did inform AAA, who directed me to Allianz, to continue to use and recommend Allianz to their members.

I have suggested Allianz to my family members and a few traveling friends, even though I have never had to use it in the past. This past summer, I arranged a flight to Slovenia for my husband and as usual added Allianz to his travel plans. When I was diagnosed with cancer in August, he cancelled the trip. Putting in a claim to Allianz was the farthest thing from our minds, but when things got a little less hectic, I did do just that. The process of filing a claim was painless and the receipt of the total airfare amount very prompt. I usually don't buy airline insurance but due to an injury I was not sure I would be well enough to travel to a family wedding. It turns out I was able to go but the first flight segment was very late and I missed a connection. Allianz was easy to work with and prompt to evaluate the claim for a hotel I needed at the last minute. I will consider using flight insurance in the future as a result. Many people wonder if these extra airline insurance plans are really worth it. I'd say "yes!" after this recent experience. Planes are often delayed these days.

From the moment I called to alert Allianz of my situation, I was treated with compassion and respect. The agent told me to focus on my family first, and I could file a claim after I'd returned from my sister's funeral. I really did not expect the claim process to be easy but I was pleasantly surprised. The online instructions were helpful, filing was simple, and I received a check in about 10 or 15 days. We were surprised at how quickly we received a check for the flight cancellation fees! I was able to provide Allianz with a PDF of a doctor's statement, and there were no questions asked. We simply got a check within a week of making the claim. That was so impressive! We always get flight insurance, but never before had to make a claim. We were just delighted with the "authenticity" of Allianz's coverage.

I took out trip insurance just in case I had to cancel. I never expected to be snow bound on a tour bus for 16 hours, missing out on my hotel accommodations. Allianz reimbursed me for the hotel charge. I will always take out trip insurance in the future.

The intake process was user-friendly and quick. Once submitted it is quite a long wait until a decision is arrived to. I would have really appreciated more specific status reports along the way of where the review was at and perhaps even an approximate days/weeks countdown of how much longer a decision would take.

I was injured while in France and 10 days after surgery was flown home with a nurse and assistant. If I had not been proactive in ALWAYS calling Allianz (no one from Allianz would ever call me) I fear I would still be in the hospital in France. Unprofessional, non-caring, inept is being kind. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ALLIANZ TO ANYONE. I have insured with Allianz over the years, but never imagined that the supposed $1million evacuation insurance is a hoax. I was flown home on commercial aircraft having to lie flat on my back for 25 hours, which included two flights and two ambulance transports. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.

During my trip to Italy and Greece, my wife and I had to delay or flight back to Los Angeles, CA, due to weather that prevented us from traveling for two days. My wife and I planned for months to visit friends and family so purchased airline tickets and flight insurance several months in advance. Unfortunately a health condition surfaced that required immediate attention forcing us to cancel our plans. Putting the required insurance paperwork together takes some effort but once done we shortly received a full refund less the cost of the insurance. This was the easiest insurance claim I have ever experienced! Bar none. The website is easy to use and provides the information and instructions necessary to complete your claim. Service reps are friendly patient and knowledgeable. All in all, I would highly recommend buying this travel insurance. You'll have peace of mind and good service. My policy number was not created timely. I spent several weeks back and forth with Cheap Carribean and Allianz. I did not know if I had coverage. No one contacted me from either company. Finally payment was resolved. Not sure I would get insurance again from this company.

This was the first time I had put in a claim and wasn't sure how the process would be and how long it would take. Overall the process was smooth but reading several pages of disclaimers is a somewhat daunting and not knowing if your claim qualifies for your issue. I did get a doctors which you accepted and very happy for that. The refund came back after a few weeks, I thought I would be getting an email telling me that the claim was approved. I found out when the check came in the mail. I know you can go online and check but I was waiting for an email. I would recommend this insurance for people who travel and not knowing what can happen in this crazy world we live in.
