    My claim was satisfactorily settled, but it took too long at over 6 weeks. There was also a lack of communication for the entire process. The lateness and lack of info were both frustrating and unnecessary! The website also failed for uploading the documents and I wasted hours trying and finally had to fax. When I tried to call, their system hung up on me multiple times. I'd say this all added up to a lack of professionalism.

    AON travel insurance has just hung us out to dry for 3 months now on what should have been an easy claim for refund on a cruise when my cabin-mate was taken ill with a serious UTI 2 weeks before the cruise (and is still under treatment). They claim, but cannot verify that they are lacking some paperwork responses from the attending doctor, that a medical code was missing (they could just call or look it up themselves). They have been evasive, unresponsive and totally unwilling to do what is necessary to resolve this claim. Just what we need while she is ill and being treated! I will never buy their insurance again while traveling. They have made no effort to help and major efforts not to pay as promised and required. I am considering a claim with the State insurance commissioner.

    I purchase a travel insurance policy whenever I travel overseas, which is usually a few times each year.     I used Allianz Global a couple times. They were amazing! I had a flight that got canceled while I was in layover in Chicago, and they reimbursed me for the night in a hotel after reasonable proof that the flight was canceled. They also reimbursed me for the rental car from an alternative airport to my final destination. They also covered a taxi ride for 2 hours to the main airport because the original charter flight canceled. All in all the only complaint I had is, they are a little slow at issuing payments so do keep that in mind. Fortunately I wasn’t on a “budget” so I could wait up to the 10 days. Other than that they are fair and good to deal with. I highly recommend them!

    This is my first time and last time I'm buying cancellation insurance. I will drag myself on the trip. Never again will I waste my money on cancellation insurance. I put in a claim because my husband got sick so he went to the hospital. Got a doctor's note and we filled out the medical claim form. Even if this quack did not state on the note that "the traveler shouldn't travel" in writing as stated in the policy which I read from cover to cover, according to Bianca on the phone at Allianz said it should be OK. It's been 2 weeks no emails no telephone nothing. I called and was told it's on the desk in the claim department. What would you make out of this? It probably or will fall into the crack and they don't care. I'm out $1,800.00 plus for my trip and this outfit don't care.

    Next time I will go with what visa gives me as far as medical insurance. If it's less than 4 or 5 days they don't charge you compare to what this outfit charged me and REGARDLESS I will drag myself onto the plane even with a virus which is what my husband had and according to this quack he was fine to travel on a place and contaminate everybody. Thank god we didn't have to use this insurance for medical purposes during our travel. Maybe we could have been stuck in FL in a hospital bed and racking up a bill by the same token because Allianz is 0.

    I was chosen to run the United Half Marathon in NYC and this company automatically charges you $10.00 for insurance... if you cannot participate in the race. As I never asked for this, I cancelled the insurance as soon as I got accepted into the race... which was January I believe. I received an e-mailed letter from the company cancelling the insurance.     We traveled as a family group of 5: Three siblings and two spouses. One member of our party became ill and we were forced to cancel a prepaid hotel stay. I filed a claim for the loss and included doctor's notes. The claim was rejected because the member who became ill did not reside in my household. Be advised: Do not purchase this insurance if you are traveling with a group. Your traveling companions' illness can leave you without coverage unless you are willing to abandon your companions in their hour of need. The Allianz rep explained they have no insurance which could have covered this loss. Very disappointing.

    I had a terrible customer service experience recently. I was trying to get the details of a change of flight impact on my trip. The person I was talking to was not clear and after I asked for clarity on what she said she actually sighed in exasperation. And then proceeded to berate me for arranging the trip the way I did and the subsequent policy coverage plan... I told her I was unhappy with her tone and rudeness. All I wanted was a clear outline of what this flight change would warrant and result in. Clearly if I don't get it then you are doing something wrong with the explanation.     I paid over a thousand dollars for insurance however all claims reported were denied on technicalities. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for any insurance. Also I don't see how the claims consultants can't get back to you quicker. I am aware it says it may take up to 10 business days to get back to you but that's no excuse to take 2 weeks to reply to every email.

    Run! I had a serious reaction to a medication I was given. I purchased the policy on American Airlines website. I will need another 90 days of treatment. I contacted the company and you will not get anyone that is willing to assist you. I will not be able to make the trip. The insurance was purchased in case of an emergency. The ticket like most was non-refundable. I never expected to use it. Unfortunately, I had to. I called and was put through the wringer. They sent a form that asked very specific questions regarding my medical condition. This is a violation of the HIPAA ACT. They could care less. I refused to furnish the information and have the doctor sign off on it. I was unsure if it would end up in some database or even the "Dark Web". If I could give them zero stars I would. All of us must be careful nowadays with personal information. Just do not purchase and save yourself all the hassle.

    I always figured this was a waste of money, but now I have no doubt. First, I am unable to cancel the policy, because I couldn't get the policy to come up on their website within the 10 days. Even the service agent said that sometimes the website just doesn't work. So I thought I would just keep it. Then I had to cancel my trip because all the airports shut down due to threat of war. Guess what, that's not included (but terrorist attacks are?!). Then I try to transfer this unused policy to a re-scheduled trip (exactly the same as the cancelled one), and they wouldn't do that.     Had an injury while travelling overseas in Cambodia. Went to the doctor and found out my ACL is mostly torn. I called Insurance and started the process of sending in all my documents and all that. After an MRI the doctors tells me I will need surgery. I tell Allianz this. They say, "Send in your documents with the Doctor's recommendation." I do. Now over a month later limping around on one leg they still haven't come to a decision...what? I must of phoned them a dozen times already, re-sent the documents, sent more emails, and now the senior case manager is looking at the case. Yet still here I am in a Foreign country with one good leg and no update on when I can get surgery or what I should do. To say I am disappointed with the service would be a huge understatement. Not sure what the point of getting travel insurance is.

    We used our State Farm Visa to cover the cost of our rental car. Unfortunately, we were hit by a motorist late November and so we had to file a claim. Immediately, we sent photos and the documents we had to eclaimsline@eclaims.com. No response whatsoever. We then called and spoke to a claims handler who retrieved the emails. Bottom line, we are still re-sending the documents needed and the rental car company needs to be paid for the deductible. This company has at least six copies of some of the very same documents. Our State Farm agent has sent several copies of the same documents they keep asking for. Even the rental car company sent their documents to Allianz.

    This has been going on for four months now. Today alone, this company asked for another copy of the same documents. It is unbelievable. When I called, I was told by a claims representative that it "takes forty-eight hours for an email to appear in their system" and she adamantly insisted I had to wait two days to call her again before she could even look at them. Meanwhile we have been assessed an additional $100 "Administration Fee" by the rental car company on top of the deductible. We are also barred from renting from three rental companies. Right now we have little choice but to pay the bill, and the administration fee and hope that Allianz will do their part. Don't be fooled by this so-called "benefit." We've had to learn the hard way. Sadly.

    Filed a claim after my mother in law could not fly and had to cancel flights. This was due to Anxiety attacks she was having at the age of 91. Nowhere in the policy did I see you could not claim Anxiety. Not sure what I paid for since according to Allianz nothing was covered. I think this is a scam if you have it for airline flights and need to cancel. I will never again get this insurance. It is a waste of money since they do not cover anything.     I took a trip to Ecuador and fell and broke my ankle. I had to be hospitalized. When I called Alliance I was told what forms to file. I did all this. It has been over 2 months since I first filed. I am finding out now that I have to file with my primary insurance company first, then they will pay. What is the purpose of taking this insurance out if you have to file with another insurance company first.

    My wife to a trip to go to her mom's funeral. I suggested getting travel insurance because it was winter and price seemed reasonable. Turns out departure trip was canceled due to snow storm on Sunday. Ok great, we have travel insurance, then next day Alaska confirms flight, so she returns rental car and shows up but airport is all but deserted, no cancellation email or phone message. Fortunately another person who sat next my wife on arrival had same experience and had car and home in kalispell let her stay with her. It was minus 12 degrees at airport.

    Then I arrange for different carrier delta to get her flight on Wednesday. She paid for hotel next to airport and food and car rental extra late fee. About 390 dollars total out of pocket for the delay. Documented everything, turned in claim with Allianz only to be told only $200 would be covered under policy. Its says 150 daily, so my advice is read and re read all the fine print. To me it is deceptively worded. Using the word daily gives people the impression that the policy is for more than one and a third days. It should be clearly stated in bold wording that max is 200 dollars, not buried in contract somewhere.

    They are the artful dodgers. We had a trip planned to Scotland. My husband fell ill and needed surgery. I cancelled immediately and filed a claim. And waited. And waited. Finally I got someone who said yes they had everything but somehow it fell between the cracks. They warned me not to send it again cause it would go to the bottom of their pile. Waited 8 more weeks after that. Nice agent, said the same thing "this is not how we do business I am very sorry somehow your claim got to the bottom of the pile".

    Now I am in month 6. They announced happily that my claim was approved! However I had sent dozens of sheets of documents and they plucked one out, and paid that amount. Ironically I had previously informed them that that amount had been refunded by the car rental. Customer Service Agent Anthony last night swore to me, gave me his word, that I would have it processed by 9 AM this morning. Today I got an auto reply from claims that they had received all my paperwork and it would take 10 business days (as though I had not experienced 5.5 months of delay already). Grrr... I have reported it to insurance commissioner in my state, but it is impossible to get a member of the Global management on the phone or email.

    I insured Ticketmaster tickets for an event in Lake Tahoe. 2 tickets totaling $133 dollars. Their email as proof of purchase even said the above total. A storm hit that weekend and the Weather Service even suggested not traveling the day of the event. I turned in my claim within 3 days after the event. I only received half of the claimed amount. No explanation for the decreased amount. Considering I paid $27 for the insurance, I basically only got paid for 1/4 of the amount insured. Not worth the investment. Is it worth my time calling to fight for the rest? I don't know. The reviews on this site make it less than worthwhile.

    I paid for travel insurance with Allianz and during the course of my trip, some items of mine were stolen. This fell under the terms of my coverage, so I filed a claim along with a police report that I had filed within 24 hours of the incident (note: this is required!), and expected that everything would proceed accordingly. Little did I know that I was embarking on a four month journey through customer service hell.

    These people are absolutely shameless with their ability to evade and obstruct any meaningful or timely processing of a claim. They would reference emails that weren't sent, calls that were never made, or notify me of requests for further documentation via mail that would arrive two weeks after the letter was dated. They very clearly intentionally drew out this process to make it as difficult as possible for me to receive my claim. I spent no less than ten hours on the phone with their hopelessly incompetent customer service representatives explaining the details of my claim, only to have it ultimately rejected due to erroneous information. In the end, they did cover my claim once I corrected this information, but only after an extremely protracted and painful four month process. I would definitely NOT recommend!

    We purchased travel insurance for a vacation booked through JetBlue to Aruba. A winter storm hit and all flights into the northeast were cancelled for 3 days. When I first called Allianz, I spoke to a representative that told me all our expenses would be covered and to save our receipts. It took us 4 days to get home with multiple flights and hotel changes, plus a rental car as we were unable to get a flight into our original airport. I submitted all the required documentation with all receipts and copies of cancelled flights. Allianz is now saying we didn't have coverage for "trip delay" even though 2 of their reps said we would be covered. $2800 later, they don't want to pay and now we are in an appeal. What a nightmare, they should be ashamed of themselves.

    Your service has been terrible this year. It took over a month to process the last part of my claim. Usually it takes 10 days. 2 different customer service reps said I would get communication within 48 hours twice and never did. I wasted so much valuable time calling in several times and the second rep said they had no claim documents when the first rep said they can see they were submitted on 1/3. You lost them??? The website doesn't work properly. It does not generate a claim number for me when I submit documents. The first part of my claim was processed on time but they did not make the payment for weeks even though I submitted deposit info with my claim. Again I had to call in several times wasting so much valuable time on my travels. Just horrible customer service. How will you compensate me for my time??

    It is interesting that I can read at least 2 complaints each week about not received cheques. I have filed a claim, approved and the cheque is not received. And that has happened twice for a file. Each time it takes 1-2 months to reissue the cheque and send it out agian. No direct deposit. It could be certainly a scam. They have provided cheque numbers. But isn't it possible for them to issue the cheque and torn it apart? They can keep the money 4-5 months more with this trick in their account. They are making money out of that. It is not fair.

    I am HIGHLY disappointed in your travel insurance policy. When I purchased the travel insurance via American Airlines website, all it allowed and stated was a check box to choose for insurance and you all GLADLY took my money. When it was time for my refund, you all made check out to the passenger of the flight and not myself who was purchasing the ticket with my credit card.

    There was NO OTHER option to change policyholder to myself. My father was in his final days in the hospital when I was attempting to refund and switch the name on the check. And your cold-hearted staff said I needed to get his signature to sign the check over or call you all. My father was unable to barely breathe on his own and was using a CPAP machine to assist his breathes in and out much less be able to sign or speak. He passed away very shortly after and you all said I needed to get his wife (the other passenger) to call. His wife and myself were not on speaking terms after his death so this was a very uncomfortable position you all put me in.

    I just asked for once in your life to have some common sense and make an exception. I was willing to provide my credit card number, bank statements and even get American Airlines to prove I used my own credit card. I am disgusted with Allianz and will spread the word to as many people as possible via social media to express my disgust with your company.

    I signed my children up to attend a track and field camp at a local college. I noticed that there was an option for cancellation coverage so I signed up for it. My daughter later decided not to attend so we cancelled and then discovered that we must have a doctor’s note. Nowhere in the initial sign up did it say we must have proof of anything. I believe that there was a message that I would receive, an email within ten business days, but I never received an email confirming that was claim was received and contained the necessary information/documentation. I started trying to determine the status of my claim around December 23. My claim number was not recognized, but my policy number was. There was no status available. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to determine the status of my claim, I finally took the attached screenshots. I received a check for my claim around January 23.     I bought a trip for my son as a gift, I bought cancellation insurance for the flight, because he’s been in the fire department hiring process, he was selected and was told he would have to be ready for a phone call to be ready for training, which means he can’t take any chances going away. When I called to cancel I was told this was not a covered reason, when I explained, he said “oh you knew this before booking”. I said yes. He then told me, they don’t cover training or assessments, and his training wasn’t on the days of travel. I told him due to the nature of the travel, it would put him in situations where he could be declined his spot, he then stated “well I can put in a claim but good luck”.

    I asked to speak to a supervisor, he then said, "Well we have six here so it will take 24 to 48 hours for them to respond." I said, "Well that's not fair, he can’t go and I bought this for these reasons." He said, "Well you didn’t read the reason not covered when you pressed confirm." I got angry, he laughed on the phone and said, "Well mama I’m going to hang up now." I asked what his name was. He said “Jackson, but that doesn’t matter. Do you want to put in a claim or wait 24 to 48 hours for a supervisor to call you. You won’t be getting your money back because he isn’t going to train until after his trip.”

    I told him that during his trip time he would be preparing for the training day, he said “Cancellation doesn’t refund being assessed or training.” I again explained that it’s not assessment, he’s already been hired and was told to be ready as he can get called in any time. I have no reason to put down any company, but I bought this insurance for a very good reason, I was not treated right at all on the phone, he put me down, laughed at me and told me, "Well good luck", then hung up on me. I truly feel this is not right, Why else would someone cancel a trip unless for good reason. I just don’t feel this was fair at all for our circumstances.

    I became very ill in Thailand and Allianz was there for me every step of the way. Per my insurance plan with them, they paid for my hospital bill in full and upfront with little to no interference from me. There was a qualified rep there every single time I called from my hospital bed and they were always friendly and willing to answer all of my questions. Allianz worked with a Thai insurance company to make sure all of my bills were paid to the hospitals I stayed in and made sure I was getting the best care possible in the city I was sick in. Also per my plan with them, they even offered to pay my return flight home if I needed it, but I ended up continuing my trip.

    Good morning. Allianz provided superior service when I became ill on a Holland America Cruise and required medical attention beginning Nov. 3 thru Nov. 14. Attention by the Allianz staff, on a daily basis, was comforting; payment for services rendered by the Madeira Clinic, reimbursement for interrupted cruise, and repatriation to the USA was "immediate."     My daughter pulls her hamstring 3 days before an event. I call them to ask them is there anything I need to do or if I need to put in the cancellation of the event in advance as she wouldn't be able to go to a college showcase tournament. She informs me that there is no problems. I can see how the hamstring is and if she goes, she goes if not I can put the claim in afterward (never tells me I would need a Dr note).

    My daughter decided she couldn't perform her best and if she is trying to get a scholarship, you have to be 100%. I go to put in the claim and they keep saying I need a Dr. note. I was never told that was needed when I called prior to the event and they WILL NOT review the tape done on Jan 10th with the agent that would prove this fact. That would have been nice to know. It wasn't a huge pull but it would have been a waste of time to go because she couldn't spring. I would spend more money going to a Dr to tell me she needs to rest to get a note to get back my 150.00. Just ridiculous.

    Then they send me scripted emails telling me to put in a claim or submit my needs. I have about 5 times and they will just find a way to not pay. That is all. They make their money taking these small policies and then they don't pay out on them. The camp coordinator felt so bad for this experience, he has already offered us admission to another camp because this insurance company is a joke!! DO NOT BUY, it is FALSE and never intended to be followed through yet. The agents all answer the same way and have no ability to problem solve. You just keep submitting on websites.

    I purchased tickets through Ticketmaster for a play. They recommended that I buy insurance in the event for any reason I would need to cancel and not be able to attend. I purchased the insurance but was never sent a policy which I later learned stated that I needed to be seen by a doctor if unable to attend due to illness. As it turns out, I developed food poisoning and was unable to attend the play. I did not seek medical attention because I didn't think I needed it. When I contacted Allianz I was told to file a claim form, but the person on the phone didn't think I would be reimbursed because I needed to be seen by a doctor.

    I explained that I never received the policy, and she stated that I should state so in my claim letter. I did submit a letter explaining why I had not seen a doctor, but to no avail. I was told that the policy stated I needed to see a doctor. It was as if they chose not comprehend that the fault was theirs for never sending me the policy. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

    When I booked Alaska Air I was given the option for 'cancellation insurance'. I never usually do this nor will I ever do it again! My course was canceled so I paid Alaska the $125 and applied to Allianz for my insurance to kick in. "Oh, I am sorry, you do not qualify as you don't have a medical emergency" was the heavy Mexican accent on their claims' line. In small print hidden somewhere they define 'cancellation' as a 'medical emergency'. I have appealed to them to pay up or, if it is medical insurance, to refund my initial insurance money as the flight has now been canceled. They are screwing me around so much I am now complaining to BBB and to Alaska Air. One thing I have discovered about customer service, if you get a really hot customer with a genuine complaint, DEAL WITH IT, and quickly!!! I hope I am the last traveler they con!
