We've been going to Mavis for about two years now. The representatives were friendly and they work with my husband with getting him a good price. My husband was going to the one by our house which wasn’t too far. He liked the guys that worked there and then the whole crew moved, and he goes to where they are now. They did muffler, brakes and rotors.

I I came in upon store opening hours and I got to say it got me in and out of there was in an hour's time even though they were swamped from yesterday's work. I was in Western Lights Syracuse New York and Tim was very very helpful to me. He worked the best deal he can possibly work within his legal limits. I appreciate it even though the cost was a little higher than I need it for my pocket what was well needed and I appreciate everything that they were able to do for me. Satisfied customer. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to the store in time. Getting there it seems as if the Manager was doing many things at the same time (Multitasking). He assured that I would have his attention very soon. He was true to his word and welcome me to Mavis. I explained that I am a seasoned customer. I explained that I needed my battery to be changed based on what was going on.
When he told me the price of replacing the battery, I was at first surprised at the cost. I haven't change my battery almost 5 years (brand new with the car). He assured me that he will test the battery and if the battery is not the problem, then he would not put in the new battery. I believed his professionalism and the confidence in which he spoke propelled me to go forward and I was trusting in the God of the heavens to lead me in the right path. Many thanks again for your service to the community. I believe the Manager that attended to me is an asset to your outstanding Organization.

I found Mavis Tire on the Internet while searching for tires. There was a local store in Valdosta, Georgia, which I contacted by telephone. I had already chosen a set of tires and was looking for a good price point. A "Bernie" quoted me a price of $ 781.51 for the total price of a set of four BF Goodrich G-Force Comp2 A/S P245/40ZR19 94W tires. When I arrived at the Valdosta location @ noon on 02/23/20, I found that this particular tire \]= was neither in stock or at their local warehouse. The "sales associate" did not honor the quoted price, attempted to upsell me to an entirely different tire (with half the tread life of the tire I specified).
I expressed my displeasure at this "bait and switch" technique politely and attempted to use the facility air hose as to not totally waste a trip of an hour from home to dealership. Adding insult to injury, the air hose did not work and the "sales associate" made it clear that my failure to purchase the wrong tire at an inflated price made me of no interest to him. Unless this matter is satisfactorily adjusted by Mavis Tire, I will take my business elsewhere and relate this anecdote to anyone I know who is thinking of buying tires from Mavis Tire Company. APPALLED AT THE ENTIRE EPISODE!
Dear Dr. Garrison, we are so pleased to have heard that this incident has been resolved and based on the correction made by the Regional Manager you have decided to remain a Mavis customer and continue to recommend us! Thank you again for allowing us the opportunity to make this right!

I'm a old shipyard mechanic but I've done many brake jobs, bearing replacements, etc. on my own cars. I came in for rear brakes and an inspection of the two tires I hadn't had replaced by Mavis in New York the month earlier. There was a brake special for $99 for two wheels. Perfect. After inspecting the vehicle, they called me to say that I needed 1 new rotor because of metal to metal scarring, 1 new set of calipers because the unit had seized, new pads and a "break line flush." The price was just a few dollars short of $800.00!
A garage buys its parts from the same people you can, and they add a percentage of mark-up. Reputable garages will buy parts at a discount to save you money, even though it costs them some profit on their markup. A rear rotor for a Honda Odyssey is $25.00 to you and me, calipers are about $50.00 and brake pads are $25.00. The numbers I was quoted for these items were 3 to 5 times higher than those prices. There was also an extra hour of labor added to what was included in the $99.00 brake special. This is Middleburg, Florida. Our local guy who just retired would have charged maybe $300 at the most. Certainly not $800! And before he would charge you almost $200 for a new rotor, he would have just turned the old one... or just charged you $40 for a new one. They also told me that one of the suspect tires had a nail in it. I asked them to fix that, but skip the brake job.
When I came to pick up the car, they had me sign some paper that detailed how they had told me of all the defects on my car and that I had refused service. They also didn't charge me anything because they didn't even fix the tire that I had asked them to fix. I did the brake job myself. The "bad caliper" was fine, no leaks and it returned easily to it's home position. The rotor was within spec thickness, so I left it but it did have some shallow scarring. Total cost to me: $34.00 and 20 minutes. (I would have replaced the back rotor if I were a business, for aesthetics, but as an option to the consumer since it's just the rear brakes which don't see the kind of wear the front brakes do. But not for an extra $300.) Then I inspected the tires. No patches and no nails. They are mounted on Aluminum rims so on cold days, they lose air. Then they will hold pressure for a week at a time.
If they had just remounted the tires, and done a rear brake job and charged me $200 or less, I'd have been happy. Now I'm never going back again. And if YOU don't know anything about cars, YOU should avoid them too. Go find Orby.
Dear Mr. Peterson, we truly apologize for your experience getting quoted for your brake job at our location. We appreciate your feedback and are always looking to improve however we can. We are absolutely not in the business of upselling or price gauging and we would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you as these practices are not tolerated by Mavis. About a month ago, I called the Hopewell Mavis and spoke with Edward regarding needing two new tires on my vehicle as well as an inspection and oil change. Edwards was extremely kind and helpful in finding me the best price tires. He also suggested to me that I call the call center as they can get possibly work with me more on the price range and I was looking to staying in and he also informed me that the brand tires I was wanting would be able to be in their store in 2 days. I was very appreciative for his honestly and that he suggested this as I would have had no idea that was an option if he hadn’t.
I called the call center and spoke with Sean I believe was his name. I gave him the size tire I was looking for, the brand and the type of my vehicle and Informed him I got two tires last year from them, as I have been a long time customer. He offered me two different kinds of tires that were in the price range for my vehicle. I questioned whether the tires he was quoting me were going to be compatible to my vehicle and match the other two tires I just got from you last year. He assured me yes. I asked why I couldn’t get the same brand tire as last time so they all match. He informed me that they either don’t make them anymore or he has no idea when they would be in stock again.
I said, "When I spoke to Edward at the Hopewell Mavis, he said they did have them and could get them in 2 days." Sean advised me again that’s not at all possible because they don’t have them anymore. He kept rushing me off the phone and I couldn’t make a decision on the two quotes he gave me. I had a hard time because I wasn’t sure if they would be compatible to my vehicle and kept questioning it. Sean kept telling me they were compatible. So I did, and he booked the tire sale.
About 5 minutes later, I received a phone call from Frankie at the Hopewell Mavis. He was very concerned about the order I just placed and immediately wanted me to know what happened. He told me he called the call center himself and told them that the tires they sold me were not at all compatible with my vehicle and they should have never of sold them to me. They were the wrong size tire completely and the tire they sold me was a summer tire. I drive a Grand Jeep Cherokee. Frankie made sure I was informed of the wrong information I was given from the call center and told me exactly what I needed on my vehicle.
I was so thankful to him for his expertise. Because of this incident, Frankie went above and beyond to make up for the trouble and misinformation I was given from the call center. He helped me to get the tires I originally wanted and requested, got me the earliest appointment and took me in immediately for my appointment when I arrived and made sure I didn't have to wait which I was extremely grateful for. His costumer service was professional, courteous, extremely helpful, very knowledgeable and exceeded my expectations. The Hopewell Mavis is a pleasure to go to and I will definitely be using them again.

I brought my vehicle in on Sunday 2/9/2020 for a noise that was heard on the front left driver side. After being inspected they told us first the noise was a heat shield hitting the car at the back end. We were there just about a month prior for new tires ($900) and were told we should replace the axle and struts. Well having heard the noise they said my axle was leaking grease and that should be replaced. So after agreeing to have the driver side axle replaced, 2 front struts and 2 control arms replaced. Told us it would be done that evening. Got a call saying they had to wait for a part that would be in Monday morning. Called several times and was told it would be done that evening. When I got out of work at 4. I was told they had to order another part and it would be in in the morning. I had to arrange for transportation to and from work. Called on my break and was told it would be done that afternoon.
My friend picked me up from work and drove me to Mavis where my vehicle was still on the lift not done. I was then told they were waiting on another part. At this point I had to have my friend get me a rental car so I can get around as needed. So Wednesday I get a call saying the vehicle is ready to be picked up. Yay! Finally! ($1500). I go after work and pick up my car and it wont even drive out of the lot. Check engine light is now on, and the car will barely move. I was beyond upset! They call me this morning saying that my vehicle had a preexisting problem and my differential was bad and blew my axle (which was just replaced). They can get a differential with over 1k miles on it for $750. Are you ** kidding me??? My car had no issues with the differential! They screwed up my car big time!!
If they can't do the job right they shouldn't be doing it at all. So my car, which ran perfectly fine when it was brought in there now has major issues. This is not ok! I transport my kids in this car and they tried sending the car home with me worse than it was when I brought it in. I feel so manipulated by these guys who work in that building. And the one guy was very rude whenever I spoke to him. I am out lots of money and still no vehicle.
Dear Amy, we truly apologize for your incident. Our records indicate that you were able to connect with the Regional Manager for this location, Patrick. He authorized a rental vehicle back on 2/11/2020 for you so that our location can do all the necessary repairs free of charge. In late January my 19 yr old daughter took her car to the Mavis Tire located in Concord NC to have a nail removed. They gave her a huge grocery list of things that were wrong with this car. They also told her that the oil cooler and radiator needed to be flushed. So the next day to the tune of $400.00 they were supposed to replace the oil cooler and flush the radiator. She got the car back and the oil pressure light was coming on after being driven for a few miles. The next day the car was taken back and the technician had broken the oil sending unit, and they were trying to say that the car had a blown head gasket. I paid them to replace the oil sending unit. I left with the car and I drove it to a qualified Volkswagen technician.
After many diagnostic tests, the qualified technician doesn't get a positive test for a blown head gasket. So I began to call customer service, I am told several times that Paul who apparently is the district manager will call me by the end of the day. A week later, I have not heard from Paul. So I call back again, I am told that Lee who is apparently the regional manager will be calling me back. Lee calls and he is very pleasant to talk to, and I am thinking that hey now I am going to get somewhere with this. So I tell Lee what's going on, and he wants to speak with my qualified technician. I arrange this.
The next phone call I get is from my qualified technician telling me that Lee was very rude to him, and states that pretty much there are conflicting stories, and that my daughter asked them to check the oil residue in the coolant, and that she asked for the repairs. But the grocery list that she was given when they were supposed to remove a nail from her tire reflects differently, and that ALL calls and conversations in the store are monitored. Well I call Lee back and I ask him to hear those audio recordings and I am told no that those recordings are for the use of Mavis Tire only. He was very rude to me and pretty much called me a liar in not some many words, but I have the grocery list of problems they found while they were supposed to be removing a nail from the tire.
Dear Tisha, we apologize for your experience. Our records indicate that Lee has authorized a reimbursement to you as a courtesy in the amount of $384.61. Your check is being requested and will be mailed out to once it is printed.

I contacted Mavis Discount Tires for a quote on a set of 4 tires for my Honda Accord. In my research I found the same tires cheaper at another vendor and clicked on the link on Mavis' site explaining that a cheaper price was found elsewhere. I was called by the corporate office and told the new price was a few dollars cheaper than the competitor. I agreed to the price and made an appointment for the tires. I also needed an oil change. When I arrived at the store, I went in and gave the manager my order number. He said everything was ready. They had the tires in stock and would get it started.
I asked about an oil change and was told they do them. I did not see any prices posted nor was I told the price. My error was I assumed it would be close to other oil change shops. Nowhere were the prices posted in the lobby. The manager said he would put 2 guys on the car to get it done since I was on lunch from work. I said I appreciate that. He also said he strongly suggested a wheel balancing and an alignment. I knew with new tires it is a good idea, so I said yes.
The tire cost was about $400.00, the alignment was $90.00. When I got the bill, it was over $600.00. I did not think the oil change was $65.00. If I had known, I would have said no. According to the manager after several calls, voice messages and emails, I was told that, but I do not recall hearing that price being said. I was also told they record all business in the lobby, which is not posted anywhere. And the fees and taxes on the tires were never fully explained to me. I know the NJ state tax and disposal fees. But there was a miscellaneous tax on my bill and no one ever explained that. I ended up paying more than the less expensive quote I got from the other tire store. Yes, my car was done in about the time the manager said it would be done. But nowhere are prices posted for services.
Dear Bill, we apologize for this confusion on pricing! We were able to find a copy of your invoice and confirmed that the pricing for the tires and installation match your quote. The only other costs we found were for the full synthetic oil change you mentioned ($59.99 with $10 off coupon) and an alignment for $89.99. That's a difference of about $149.98 plus tax. We absolutely want to connect with you regarding this pricing so we can figure out a resolution that would make you happy! We have created a ticket in the system for you to the Regional Manager who will connect with you immediately!

Needed a few days to collect my financial resources together to take care of a slightly-larger-than-average repair. Any other mechanic would have felt the heat, and started with the threats after 2-3 days after the repair was made. Mike instead kept his cool, gave me some space to do what I had to do (all of which makes me work even harder to come thru in a timely manner), told me not to worry about it from the beginning, and, as always, treated me more like a guest in his home than like your typical manager at a garage. The work under his leadership is top-notch, and I know in the event of a problem, if it was do to anything related to a part, or the labor, Mike will stand by the work, parts, and the brand.
There are plenty of garages in town, but I come back to Mavis because Mike takes care of me. He's an asset to the town, for those of us looking for that level of service, and to the company as well, as he has a knowledgeable hand in just about everything going on in the shop, in order to stay informed and on top of things, so that he can be personally accountable to the customer. Of course, no one looks forward to "coming back," any more than one looks forward to his next dentist trip. But he can count himself fortunate who has a mechanic he can rely on.

Car still has the same problem, was told by the manager Ray" that if I have problems I "CAN'T BRING IT BACK." I paid my money for labor and parts and expected not to be treated that way. The car has been brought to the shop for suspicion that the strut was faulty. Ray went so far as to misdiagnose the problem on Jan 9th (I believe). He told me it was the axle and that I should replace, then if I still have the problem then bring it back and he would replace the strut.
I took the vehicle to Mavis in Fort Lee where Rich verified it was a leaking strut. He couldn't warranty it and said Ray would have to from his store. So we have Ray "LYING" about the problem. In doing so I have 2 days loss of use! Which equal 2 days loss of wages to the company. Ray just cost my company approximately $150 each day that the car sat in the shop. I was told I would receive a phone call regarding this issue from sum sort of supervisor or regional manager but I HAVE NOT! I'm very disappointed and if the strut was NOT REPLACED or is STILL LEAKING I WILL BE DISPUTING ALL CHARGES ASSOCIATED WITH THE REPAIRS. MY Phone number is **.
Dear Sean, we truly apologize for your experience at our location in Hackensack. Our records indicate that you did connect with the Regional manager, Tom, and that he had you scheduled to visit our Fort Lee location to diagnose the vehicle and have it looked over immediately. When searching to buy new tires in our new town, free rotation was important to our decision. Everywhere we have ever purchased tires or gotten a rotation included balancing with rotation. We didn’t realize any reputable place would rotate tires without balancing! We bought from Mavis. Went for first rotation before a road trip. The vehicle shook like crazy on the interstate for the entire trip. Returned to Mavis to be informed their free rotation doesn’t include balancing and that would be $10 per tire! Not to mention another hour+ in their waiting room less than 1 week later. Would not recommend purchasing tires from Mavis if free rotation and balance is important to you.

This is part of alignment service. Just like your bill should show what you're paying for. Now I will look for another tire shop. This is second problem with Mavis.
The first real problem I had with Mavis at a different shop in Wappingers Falls NY. Had my state inspection done. Took five hours. Kept asking why it's taking so long. Was told each time car almost ready. It'll be a few more minutes. Six months later changing oil I found out why. I had five hour inspection, the so called tech had somehow broken my right fog light body and they put it Back together with epoxy. It seems they hire none mechanics with no experience in auto repair. Will not ever go back to mavis.

I called to get a price which was a good price at the time. I specifically asked the salesperson Karl if the price was complete and included everything. He assured me the price ($201.96) was correct for 2 tires and an alignment. When I got to the store to check in, I again told them what I had been quoted over the phone. After a 2 hour wait (I had an appointment) plus another hour to install and align, I went to the counter to pay. I was told it would be $278.00 plus tax. Obviously I was perturbed and argued that I had been quoted $201.96 and that the price had been confirmed by the sales person Karl. The sales lady admonished me for being mad at her and said that I was talking to a corporate sales site, not the store. She said she couldn't honor the price I was quoted, but did discount the price to $261.00 plus tax.
I think anyone looking for tires in Savannah should be very wary of Mavis Discount Tires on Victory Drive. At the very least you should get a written estimate and have the manager sign it.

A few months ago I took my car into Mavis at 3280 Sheridan Dr, Amherst, NY 14226 to get a leaky tire fixed. The next day the tire was not just leaky but 100% flat. I used fix a flat instead of bringing back to Mavis and that fixed tire. A few weeks later my wife took her car in for an oil change. The next day we had huge puddle of oil in the driveway. When I took back to Mavis they said they did not tighten drain plug all the way then said the rain would clean my driveway. Then I bring my car in for an inspection on 1/18/20 and on the way home with my son in the car my alarm goes off that the hood is not latched. How can a technician give a car back and not latch the hood? I did not use my car on Sunday then on Monday morning my front left tire was 100% flat and I had to get a ride to work. Coincidence maybe but Mavis is 3 for 3 in the last 3 visits for very poor quality of service.

I had an issue with having tires installed on my new car at Mavis. They failed to tell me both times I had made an appointment for winter tires that they were not in stock. The last time I showed for my appointment was during a snow storm and I desperately needed tires. I ended up driving 20 miles in the snow to another Mavis location for tires. After they were installed, the price was $100 higher than I was quoted at the other location. When I inquired about the price difference I was told they use different coupons at every location (which doesn't make any sense).
I contacted customer service by email that day, and heard nothing for two weeks. I sent a second email two weeks later, and they closed my complaint without a response at all. I called the customer service line to figure out why it was closed. To my surprise, the location my tires were installed at was a franchise location. Apparently customer service cannot help you at all if your issue is with a franchise location. All they could do was send the manager another email to take care of my complaint. Here I am one month after my initial complaint and nothing has been done. I even tried to get their "price match guarantee" and that isn't happening either. All I can say is stay away from Mavis, they are not "the best" as they claim to be. Now I am out over $100 and there's nothing that can be done.
Dear Thomas, we truly apologize that this franchise location would not honor our pricing. They are unfortunately a separate entity from us and are not obligated to honor our price match policy. Took my wife's car in to have 4 tires mounted on new wheels, and high speed balanced. Sales guy suggested an alignment which I agreed to, since it hadn't been done. Got the car back, shook terribly. They rebalanced the tires, claimed they hadn't been high speed balanced, was better but still a slight shake, went back again. Now they claimed my new wheels needed spacers on the front but took off spacers that were still on the hubs, seemed to help. Wife drive the car to work, now it pulls to the left. Made an appointment with another Mavis shop, they found the pitman and idler arm were bad and the balancing on the wheels was still incorrect. Now I have to go back to the original Mavis shop and try and get a refund on the $129.00 alignment that was not going to work with two bad parts in the front end. I'm done with Mavis.

He called the following day and was argumentative, hostile and extremely unhelpful telling me that a $90 oil change was what they charge and I'm basically SOL. I said I was told it was $81 (which I still think is high even for synthetic) but was charged $87. When I inquired how the cost (oil, labor, additional oil, etc) did not add up to the $87 he kept trying to hang up on me and tell me that this is what it costs. Nowhere is it listed on the website or on site how much a synthetic oil change costs. It ended with him telling me to have a nice day and hanging up on me. He was rude and kept telling me he was trying to help (which he certainly wasn't).

On 12/3/19 my brakes were squealing and when trying to stop, my brake pedal went to the floor and the car kept going. So I went to the Sun Tire location we had always used and learned that Mavis Discount Tire had taken it over. When I walked in the waiting room was full, and people were milling around outside. I explained to the fellow at the front desk that I needed new brake pads and possibly might need new pads and my rotors turned. He gave my tires a cursory glance and said it could be done within the next two hours -- even though the four customers ahead of me had already been there 3-4 hours already.
Then he encouraged me to open a line of credit, for which I would have $1500 on a Mavis Discount Card, and also promised that I would get a $60 Visa Loyalty. The only fly in the ointment was that I had to have the initial repairs PAID COMPLETELY OFF within six months. I had no money, so I signed on the dotted line and thought I was getting a great deal. MIND YOU: The other front desk manager had been called in because that location was understaffed that day; he had to bring his toddler to work. She was quiet and well behaved for the entire 4-5 hours I was there. Only ONE MECHANIC was working on the four cars ahead of mine, so the fellow at the desk that I had initially talked to about financing said he was going to go out in the bays and start helping that one mechanic.
Long story short? I don't know whether the front desk guy was a certified or licensed mechanic; he may or may not have ever had any experience doing a brake job. Four hours later I was charged with $495.45 for parts, $207.99 for labor, $49.24 for sales tax, and the final bill was $752.68!! When my husband got home, he said they saw a sucker walk through the door and I fell for their shtick. That wasn't the end of it! Fast forward to 12/27/19. My brakes were gone again; mashing on the pedal did nothing and I was skidding through stop signs with my grandbaby in the car. It was scary. So I took the car back to them, and explained that something had not been done right. They said the previous repairs had been done correctly, but now my MASTER CYLINDER was gone, and the brake fluid couldn't get through to the system.
After an additional two hours of waiting I was presented with another service invoice: $139 for the master cylinder (you know; it is that small part behind your battery when you open you your hood) another $117.00 for the labor, $17.93 in sales tax (drum roll please) and the final amount: $274.09. Not only have I not yet received the Mavis Discount Tire revolving credit card or the $60 Visa Loyalty Card, I have not yet been sent an invoice or bill from this company which might place me in default on my line of credit. In addition, our family has the dubious distinction of driving around with an expensive $1000 brake job -- on a used 19 year old Ford Escape XLT that was manufactured in Japan and sent to the USA back in the year 2000. SUGGESTION: Call around to other tire service centers and get a number of estimates before settling with someone who took over your old mechanic's business. Now how much

Having lived within two miles from this location I have been a customer of this tire store for many years prior to Mavis's taking ownership. I have probably bought 12 sets of tires there with no major issues. Since Mavis has taken ownership these have been my experiences... The first was to purchase a new set of tires without issue.
The second was to have my wife's tires rotated and an oil change. We dropped off the vehicle at 8:00 am and the man said it would be ready in a couple of hours. This was no problem as my wife did not have to be at work until noon. So we went to do errands and have lunch at which point we returned at 11:30 and was told the car was not ready. I took my wife to work and around 3:30 that afternoon I got a call that the car was ready. So being home alone I set out and walked the 2 miles to retrieve the car unhappy about the situation.
The third time with my dealings with Mavis I had a blowout on my RV one morning on my way to Dauphin Island. I was able to change the tire and proceed to the campground where I called Mavis to get a quote for a new tire and received a reasonable quote and told they have the tire in stock. So I loaded the flat tire in the truck and proceeded to drive the 45 miles to Mavis thinking I could be back on the island before a scheduled fishing trip with my son that afternoon. when I arrived I was informed that they did not have the tire in stock but they did at their Saraland location (another 30 MILES AWAY!!). Needless to say we missed our trip that day.
The fourth experience I had to have my trucks oil changed and tires rotated. To summarize see experience number two. Again an all day wait even though the store was not very busy that day. The fifth experience. My wife got a nail in her tire. Luckily the car was home when the tire went flat. I changed the tire and discovered two of the lugs were cross threaded and I had to break them to get the flat off. I had to work the next day so I told my wife to bring the car and have the lugs replaced, repair the tire and place the spare in the trunk. When I came home from work the lugs were replaced the tire repaired but the spare was still on the vehicle (the repaired tire was in the trunk).
My sixth and final experience was recently I had to take a trip to North Carolina on short notice. I was apprehensive about Mavis at this point but they were very convenient from my proximity so I told my wife I would give them one last chance. So I called for a quote on a new set of Michelin Defender tires for my truck, received a reasonable quote and scheduled an appointment for the following Friday.
Upon my arrival at 8:00 am for my appointment I was informed the tires had arrived a few days prior but after three days the tires were returned to their warehouse so they did not have them. I had to leave the next day for North Carolina!! I in no uncertain terms expressed my disgust with Mavis and stormed out. I was able to find the tires (in stock) at a competing store where we discovered the key for my locking lugs was not in the glove box which it resided for 16 years. I am unaware if this particular store is representative of Mavis as a whole but this location should be avoided like the plague.

Well I ordered two tires for my 2002 Oldsmobile Spero..all good. Made appt for two days away. It was Christmas eve..took car in at 3 pm. All good..it took 1 hour 30 mins approx to finish installing two front tires. All good. Then on way home my dash board lit up like a Christmas tree. 4 warning lights came on..all well and good. Took it back the next day. They put it up on lift and show me part that's bad. Speed Sensor in drivers side wheel..ok..well car went in for two tires remember. No warning lights on dash..now they tell me the impact gun sometimes vibrates things and they break..ok well it a 17 year old car. They say it's expected.
Now let me tell you I have a son with leukemia that was with me when I originally got tires installed and he witnessed the lights on dash coming on..on the way home also. So all good. No resolution..do I call the corporate office of your shops. Well let me say I demanded my car to be fixed. And he said no way this was the Newton NJ store. So my only recourse is small claims court..for a car that went in for two tires..that drives around a kid with leukemia..shame on my Mavis tire in Newton and corporate offices.. In not a Adverage how I been doing work on my own cars since I was very young. And not fooled easily by shady mechanics..
Dear William, we truly apologize for your experience at the location. Your incident was initially investigated by the Regional Training Manager, Kevin, who watched the footage of your vehicle being serviced from 3:30pm - 4:20pm. It was confirmed that the tires were removed and re-installed according to procedure and without any incident. Your wheel speed sensor sits inside the hub located behind your brake rotor and it is unfortunately not possible for it to become damaged due to a tire removal or re installation. That being said, we never want to leave any of our customers feeling frustrated or ignored so your incident will be re-opened for review to see if there is something we can do to try and assist you with the wheel speed senor issue you are experiencing. Our priority is to treat others how we would want to be treated and it is our hope that we can regain your business as it is valued.

I brought my daughter's (new to her, first. car) 2009 Mazda 6 to Newburgh N.Y. Mavis in 4/18 after installing new parts in the front and rear steering and suspension, knowing it would need an alignment. I was an automobile mechanic in the 80's. The tires the car came with were practically brand new. Fast forward 6 mos. (6k mikes) later while checking the tire pressures for her I noticed steel belts protruding from the insides of rear tires. I took it to Poughkeepsie (South Rd.) Mavis in 10/18 and had them put on the alignment rack and got them to admit that the rear (4 wheel alignment car) was so far out it was probably never aligned. Had them put 4 new Coopers on it and align it. On 12/28/19 I brought the car back because one the rear tires had a bubble in the sidewall and was showing unusual wear because of it. I left the car with them.
I received a call from them saying the mechanic didn't understand the work order and mistakenly installed 4 new of the same tires. They worked out a deal with me on keeping the 4 tires and throwing in a "free" 4 wheel alignment. I don't believe these tires could have been sold by them as new. If I didn't want them they would have to be dismounted. While talking on the phone with them and car was still up on the lift, I asked the mechanic to take a look at the tie rod ends being it was getting an alignment. Also, I suspected they might need replacing, the mechanic said they were fine. So I picked up the car.
I noticed some light clunks on turns while driving over irregularities in the road. I don't drive this car usually at all. So when I got home I jacked the car up one side at a time. Pulling on the wheel at 3 & 9 o'clock position had clunking and about 5/8" play on both wheels. Tie rod ends shot ! Do not take your car to Mavis for anything other than tires and mounting. Leave the mechanical stuff to real mechanics at a good Independent shop. I and anybody I know are done with them. Incompetency rules at Mavis.
Glenn, we are so pleased to hear that you and the Regional Manager, Patrick, were able to come to an agreement that left you and your daughter satisfied Mavis customers! We, again, truly appreciate you allowing us the opportunity to make this right and regain your confidence in our company. We look forward to doing all we can to providing you both with gold standard service moving forward. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any future inquiries!

I purchased four Michelin P235/60R18 Lat Tour HP tires from Kaufman tire in Peachtree Corners, GA for my Volvo XC90. I have had the tires rotated and aligned at Mavis tire (since they purchased Kaufman tire). I had only 18,650 miles on the tires (that were supposed to last until 55,000 miles) and they were nearly bald, and the tires had worn past their wear indicators. I inquired about a proration for the tires from the Mavis Peachtree Corners location. They said that they would have to ask Michelin about the proration, that there would not be a definite payment for a proration for the 36,000 unused miles that I did not receive on the tires. They also indicated that it also depended upon the rotation and alignment schedules in their computers to weather they would provide me with a money credit for a proration.
Since Mavis tire has taken over Kaufman, I find from my experience at the Peachtree Corners location, that they cannot find some alignment and tire rotation records for my car. Mavis has also several performed several alignments for this car and they have not completed it successfully, and I had to return it to be realigned. I decided to get new tires from another tire service center. I would not recommend Kaufman tire for any of your car tire or service needs. I recommend going to a more reliable and ethical tire store that provides professional alignment and credit for underperforming tires.
Richard, we truly apologize for your experience at our Peachtree Corners location. Our store locations are charged with the responsibility of treating customers how we would want to be treated and we are sorry that the store did not go above and beyond to try and work out a pro rated cost on replacement tires for you. This review is not about the brand of tires I purchased, but the terrible service I received both from the sales department as well as the service department at two different locations. I wrote an extensive letter about my experiences and after two months contacted the regional manager since I had not received a response. He looked into the matter saying he had never received my letter although I had spoken to someone who was substituting for him while he was on vacation who told me they were aware of my problems and the regional manager would call me after he returned from vacation.
After giving him a month to return my call, I called him and he offered a small credit in my name whenever I visited again. I did not receive an apology regarding my experience...which included four complaints...and this token certainly does not come close to covering the money, time and stress caused by their team. As has been my experience in working with businesses, company culture is established and passed down from the top as seems to be the case with Mavis. I am a marketing customer service consultant and hoped to provide a service by giving them an opportunity to improve customer experience, but I believe this was an opportunity missed. Unfortunate!

I took my daughter's 2010 mustang in to Mavis Discount Tires to have one faulty brake caliper replaced. Was told that I needed a complete brake job on both rear wheels, to include new calipers, rotors, brake fluid lines, brake pad linings, etc. For this work, they wanted to charge me $970.00!!! Needless to say, I did not have them work on the car. I took the car to another mechanic and after a thorough examination, we found that the rotors & brakes lines were in good shape, the brake pads were like new and the one caliper was damaged by the previous mechanic who installed the new brake pads! Mavis Discount Tires tried to rip me off for unnecessary work at an exorbitant price of $970.00!! I had a $75.00 brake caliper replaced with no further problems.

I made an appt to purchase and have installed, 4 new tires at the 1894 Central Ave Colonie, NY Mavis store. Appt was made for Sunday at 9:00 am when the store opened. Arrived at 8:50. Two other customers were already inside. When I got to the counter and stated I had an appt for 9:00 am and hoped I would be getting in at 9:00, I was told they don't do appts, that the appt wasn't made through the store, but through their call center. I replied I made an appt and I was called, by Mavis to confirm the appt. He again said they don't do appts. He said I would be next inline, but the two others were ahead of me. I asked how long of a wait. He couldn't say because he didn't know how long the other vehicles would take. I said I would wait 30 minutes.
I called the store number again and it did go to the call center. I asked why they made appts if the store didn't honor them. I was told they do honor them. She placed me on hold and called the store to find out why my appt wasn't being honored. I was able to hear his side of the conversation. He told the caller center that he had many appts schedule for 9:00 am and that I would be the next customer inline. It would probably be in 1/2 an hour or so (I'd already been there for 1/2 an hour). That meant I would be waiting at least an hour in the waiting area... and that was if the either of the other cars were done in 1/2 an hours time, if it took longer then I would be waiting longer. Again, why make an appt at Mavis if they don't honor them?
The customer rep came back on the phone and was telling me what the employee said. I informed her I was in the store and hear what was said. She apologized that this happened and would try to find another Mavis in the area that could do it sooner. That was ridiculous, because if I was willing to drive all over the place to get to another Mavis, I could just wait at this Mavis. I walked to the counter and the employee went to the service area, got my keys, walked over to me and handed me the keys. I walked out.
My time is valuable to me. It may not be to Mavis, but it certainly is to me. To expect customers who make an appt for a precise time to wait an hour or more to have work done, when they make an appt ahead of time is very, very poor customer service. The call center rep said that a Corp. Rep would be in touch with me. I doubt this will happen because I am just one customer out of thousands they have every day... why would anyone reach out to one dissatisfied when they don't care enough to honor appt times?

Their prices are reasonable. They’re always quick to look at my car and quick to make the repairs. Everything was good up to a point. We brought my son’s car to have work on and then when we got back the car, there were still problems. The steering was wobbling and turning all the way to the side and the whole car was shaking. So then they recommended an alignment and they recommended to do something with the steering. They said they would fix it, but it was additional money and additional kind of work. I told them I was fine with that. But after I paid them $500, the wheel was still loose. When we start going fast, the steering wheel was still shaking. They should correct it because they said they recommended all these replacements to be put into the car, and they said that would fix the problem. But the car is still doing the same thing and now they’re saying it’s a different problem. They’re gonna charge again instead of guaranteeing the work.

Ordered tires online. Compared to Costco, tire rack, etc. Found a great price but terrible service. Ordered tires online. In stock 4 tires. Made the appointment for the next day 9:30 am. Next day bring car there and drop it off. They told me they would call when done. Never received a call. Told me they tried to call all day. They had my cell# from on the online appointment and yes my number is in the Mavis computer as I have been long time customer. No more. Second time they have done wrong by me. They do not care about the customer.
I called for a status at about 3pm. They told me that the tires were on order and would not be there until the next day. STRANGE as the online order said IN STOCK!! Well the really smug guy on the phone PEPE (I think his name was) said "it's like when you order from Amazon and the item does not come on time". Wow really? He said, "We tried to call other shops and get tires on time but couldn't." He then asked, "How would you like me to make this better?" I said this is really bad customer service. He said, "Well I am sorry. I told your wife she could come and get the car." Ok now let's make matters worse.
There were 2 "original" worn tires on the rear and 2 newer tires on the front. So to boot, Mavis removed all 4 tires without having the new tires in stock. WHY? Who knows. My wife picked up the car at 5:30. I got home later and check the tires. They put the worn (older) tires on the front and rear driver side and the good tires on the passenger side. How do I know this you ask? The original tires were Yokohoma (reminder which I have 2) and the other 2 Hankook (yes by Mavis). Sad part is I have 2 other cars with Hankook tires. (Mavis can check their computers.) Anyway what a scam this company is pulling in today's online world.
If you ask me go somewhere else and use mavis quote to match. They were nasty and made it as if it was my fault! Again I let the first experience in Haverstraw NY slip. But now I am done. Mavis check your computer. I have done business in Haverstraw NY, Nanuet NY (2 locations) and Riverside CT over the years. No more. I bought tires from Mavis last year. I discovered that I had flat tire this afternoon and filled it so that I could make to Mavis safely. I arrived about 3:30. They told me that they couldn't help me because they were too busy with appointments. These appointments were all new tire purchases. That said, they were okay with me leaving, without addressing the flat tire and with an increased probability that something would happen as a result. I guess that they were too concerned about new sales, than honoring the road hazard protection promise (that I purchased).
To boot, this is the second time that this has happened. I had a flat tire this summer and Mavis was too busy then too. I had to take to the dealership and pay for the repair. You just lost a customer, Mavis! And you will likely provide the same poor service to the people who buy tires and road hazard protection because you're too busy to honor your promises once the sale has been made. Purchased 4 tires, made appt thru 800 # to have them installed. Arrived at appt time and told at garage it was strictly walk ins and the 800# was incorrect. So I waited a long time. I had it inspected Thinking it would not pass as my brakes did not feel right. It passed. Also a alignment was recommended since I had all new tires installed. So they performed it and when I asked to see the printout was told there was no paper in machine so don't know if it was done or even needed. I asked prior to tire Installation that they keep the best old tire for me to use as a spare. So after all was done I got in my car and no tire was there. Went back in and they put a tire in a bag and put it in car for me. Got home put tire in basement.
A week later I went to move it to shed and noticed it looked like a brand new tire. Checked it out, it was not my tire, the wrong size. Looked closer and it had a hole in it. They threw me a tire that was not mine and had a hole in it and did not even fit my vehicle. Fast forward to September 2019, I was under the truck replacing the Oxygen sensor when I noticed something hanging. It was a gas strap. The original strap. They replaced one strap and left the other old one on. It was completely rusted through and hanging.
I contacted Mavis customer service through email. The store manager called me, and asked to bring it in next week because he was going on vacation and he wanted to deal with me himself. I brought it in the next week, and they saw it was the old strap. I left it for the day. When I picked it up, I didn't receive an explanation, apology, refund, or even a coupon for a dollar off and oil change. So much for making things right. The scary part is, what if I wasn't the type to be under the vehicle. What would have happened? How do we know if the work is getting done? Trust is the issue. No trust now.

CEL (Check engine light) comes on, car had been running rough and jerky, I take it to Mavis and they said it was a cylinder 1 & 2 misfire code. They replace all four coils and spark plugs. I did not authorize any "preventative maintenance" to replace the good cylinders 3 & 4 plugs and coils. I test drive it and it ran worse than before. I bring it right back, Mavis says it could be things other than coils/plugs. So they spray the Mass Air Filter (or something like that) and start switching coils around, they tell me it is done. I test drive it and it ran just as poorly.
I bring it right back, Mavis says it could be that the some of the new coils might be bad. So they order another set of four coils. By now, they have tried 10 or 12 different coils, trying to find/fix the misfire. I ask for my original OEM coils, am told they have them, I get there and they cannot find, but says the counterman knows where they are, I come back next day and…they claimed the old OEM coils got sent back to their vendor when they sent back the four new coils they ordered. I don’t think a vendor would take 4 old, 66,000 miles used coils. They would not look new, nor would they match any of the 2 sets of new coils Mavis ordered from them and tried out. I test drive it and it ran just as poorly.
This time, I took the manager along. It clearly ran terribly and he said "that's your transmission, we fixed your misfire." I pressed him back at the shop and he again said, "tranny." So as far as Mavis was concerned at that point, I had a tranny problem and they fixed the problem, even though the car was running worse after they worked on it.
During the eight days they had it, I came to learn that they do not have the advanced diagnostic tools to do the job. The guy was using a hand-held scanner like the one I have. The counter guy was looking up my error codes up on Google. They even said they were not a full service shop. On day eight I suggest that they should offer me a refund. No luck.
I take it back, drive it a day or two hoping the CEL comes on. It does. I take it to Hyundai. They carefully document and photograph along the way and told me Mavis installed four improper plugs. So all that coil swapping and fiddling was for naught, given it would run poorly with the wrong plugs no matter what. I contact Mavis and suggest I also want Mavis to pay for Hyundai having to undo the work they did - makes sense. No luck.
Hyundai installs 4 proper plugs and informs me that the coils on the car are the old, original OEM coils and that one of them is bad. That explains why Mavis could not hand me my old coils. They were on the car. I was charged for 4 incorrect plugs and 4 new coils which I do not have in my possession. I have it in handwriting that the reason my 4 coils were zip tied together by Mavis is because they damaged the 2500.00 wiring harness while they were playing musical chairs with all the coils. The car runs like a charm now and cost me about 400 at Hyundai, most or all of which Mavis should pay for. Hyundai took HD photographs and documented their repair every step of the way, noting what they found.

I went to two different Mavis Tire locations. The first location is in Chadds Ford PA. I had them change the front tires and put on new Michelins. The mechanic at this location used an air gun to over-torque the lug nuts to well over 150+ foot-pounds of pressure. The required torque is probably around 45 foot-pounds, if I had a flat tire I would have never been able to get the tire off to put on a spare. I found out just how tight they were the next day, me and 2 other 200 pound men couldn't get any of the lug nuts they worked on to budge. I took the car back to the Chadds Ford PA location, explained the issue, they broke 5 of the 10 lug nuts, of which I had 4 replacements with me. They also put the car up in the air with a car lift that was in the wrong place and punctured the left front rocker panel. Because of the overtight condition on the lug nuts the brake rotors became warped. This was the situation at the Chadds Ford location.
The second location is in Newark DE. The manager of this store was the manager at Chadds Ford when I got the bad work done there. Fast forward two years later to 2019 and now that guy is running the Newark DE store. The bad manager sorta remembered me and began giving me the run-around. In the end, I ordered 4 tires, but they could only produce 3. Insult to injury: 3-hour wait before the ever disastrous manager announced that his people would be going on lunch, that's when he and I were back at it for the better part of 15 minutes. Just Dumb! WARNING! I have been doing business with Kaufman tire and Mavis in Dawsonville Ga for years... No issues. Great people. With that said, I brought my teenage daughter's BMW to the Johns Creek location for new tires which I made an appointment for. They Took my $600 and gave me the run around for 4 days never doing my tires. I called corporate to get resolution which apparently made them angry. Upon arriving to get her car, which we were told was ready, We were told by the manager, Jake **, that his area manager Angel instructed him to put The old tires back on the car. That I would receive a refund within five days on my credit card which I paid cash.
To add insult to injury I get in her car and every light on the dash is on... suspension, coolant low... So naturally I go back in the store. They denied it all. A bunch of juvenile delinquents. I Go back to the car and it won’t start. I leave the car there until the following afternoon around 5 pm only to drive behind the store to find Angel and a mechanic sitting in the parking lot behind smoking weed. I have corporate in New York to no avail. It is apparent they don’t care who works for them or what they do. Johns Creek deserves better and I will fight tooth and nail to get what’s right for my community. Police report was made and I have contacted an attorney.

I love that they ask you about things before just doing it and charging you. They give you options and don’t push sales which builds a good rapport. Would recommend this place a million times over again! Best experience.

The most recent pair I purchased from Mavis was Cooper Evolutions. I already got new tires, but I had bad strut in it so I chew through the Vee Rubber which are absolute garbage. I went through three sets of those and I just upgraded from that. And then, I bought a set of four Starfires, and then I went with the Cooper Evolutions. I bought the all seasons and the snows, which I’m very, very happy with. The Starfires were good. It’s just that it’s a heavy car, the compound is too soft, so it eats through them. Since I work there, I get an employee discount. We only pay 10% of the cost. I’ve also purchased other sets for my ex-girlfriend’s car. I’ve used them prior to me working for them but not as much. I used to buy online. But then I started working for them and I get them for a better price. Plus, I can mount and balance my own stuff, so I know it’s done right.

I am beyond frustrated and insulted. As we speak my husband's vehicle is at this location. We received a diagnostic yesterday stating a cylinder 3 misfire. An associate who we usually work with (we have been loyal customers of this location since it was Kauffman Tire for the last 5+ years) quoted us the price of changing the one coil and spark plug. We received a call this morning from the manager JOSH (oh boy) saying that we replaced the 6th cylinder coil in March and all of the spark plugs and they recommended if any others went out that we change them all. He said that we signed a "contract" in March agreeing to this and that he absolutely would NOT replace the one cylinder. We were not reminded or informed of this yesterday when we dropped off the vehicle. JOSH proceeded to scream at me on the phone for 12 minutes.
As we went back and forth about what we were told/promised and what JOSH said had to be done, the conversation ended with JOSH saying to me "OH MY GOD MA'AM, WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO PICK UP YOUR TRUCK?" I then asked for his manager's information. I called into the customer service line and left a complaint that was escalated to the regional manager. I let them know that I did not have 700.00 to fix all 8 coils at this time and we were basically trying to patch the issue at least until Friday (payday) and that we would have come back to Mavis as we had always done for the last 5 years. It's my money. If I want to spend more in labor because I don't have 700.00 right now to fix everything then it's my prerogative.
Long story short, 20 minutes later, JOSH called me back, (NEVER APOLOGIZED) and said his regional told him they would replace the one coil. I also spoke to the regional manager on the phone about 10 minutes after that. In my opinion JOSH does not need to be a manager let alone deal with customers. We are allowing them to fix the vehicle since it is already at the shop and we don't want to drive it while it's basically convulsing. I do not think we will be doing business with them again, even though I appreciate the regional manager greatly for his time and HIS apology.

Mavis basically took a perfectly good tire off my car and replaced it with a new one. After I returned with low tire pressure on the new tire they said the tire is fine the low tire pressure is because I have a cracked rim and air is escaping. When I told them to give me my money back and put back my old tire they said they won't because they are not responsible to check cracked rims.

AKA Dekalb Tire, 1105 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta GA. Bought 4 new tires, alignment, balancing, etc. guaranteed I'd get best price. Worst experience ever. Tires were low quality, front end began to shake, vibrate and pull to the side, not a problem I had before. After 6 return visits they still couldn't get it right. I called their New York home office and demanded a refund. They put me in contact with the Atlanta area rep, after many hours, many calls and much frustration, they agreed on a full refund.
I returned Dekalb/Mavis Tires after immediately going elsewhere, saved $150, got much better tires and my car is back to riding smooth. 5 weeks later, many more phone calls I still have not received the refund check promised. Been told constantly "check has been mailed". Finally disputed the charge through my credit card company. Be sure to keep all documentation because Mavis will not honor their refund. I also had brakes done and during the tire episode realized they overcharged significantly for the brakes, couldn't tell at 1st because they are sure to run itemized summary off invoice page. Again, went through the hassle of demanding a refund. Stay away from Mavis/Dekalb.

There was no apology or anything, just complaining about how terrible their call center is and what a horrible backlog of work they have. I had to get a NYS vehicle inspection and it did not pass because the left front tire was so damaged. The tire are only 10 months old with 12k miles. I took the tire back and Mavis stated it was because of a bad wheel alignment and lack of rotations. When I confronted them with my receipts they said the wheel alignment was only good for 60 days. I called the tire manufacture and they said the tires had a 30k warranty. Mavis did not do anything or offer any kind of compensation. And the shop doing the inspection stated that it was most likely a tire defect, which Mavis said they didn't know what they were talking about. Well I won't be going back to Mavis or do I recommend them.

If you need brakes, they take you in, show you the brakes before they do anything, and give courtesy to you. They're showing you the parts that you need and try to get you the discount. I know that they're not a complete motor place, but they're good for oil changes, brakes, inspections, and little stuff. They're convenient and they're nice people. I purchased 4 tires a Sunday before Labor Day. They held my car 6 hours "11 to 5" thinking they are working on it and as long they are doing a good job I didn't care or mind. When I drove the car I noticed 4 issues. The TPMS were on, uncomfortable driving and rumbling, the car leans to my right side, and finally it shook at 45 mph. I got so frustrated since it was labor day, so I decided to take half a day off from work and get my car fixed. The next day I got there around 12, they told me they are booked for the day and I have to come back tomorrow!!! What!?! I explained to them that I have work and it's not an option for me.
Then he said you can leave the car and he'll see what to do. I called the customer service and they sound like they want to help. They expedited the service by calling the regional manager and make my car the first priority. Yeah right!!!! I got my car back 45 mins after closing at 6:45. He told me that I must have hit something and the weights were dropped!! Hahaha. He then added some weights and I needed to press reset button for the TPMS. Ok! The car doesn't rumble anymore which was a good sign and it didn't lean this time. And the light was off!! Ok. That's a relief.
The next day the light came back on and the car shook badly after 60 mph this time!!! Honestly I wish I had my old tires back!! And I wish I didn't go there the first place. It sucks when you trust the company and leave the car to them to change goddamn tires and you find out that they messed up your sensors and they deny it!! I would never step one more step at Mavis again!! And I will do my research next time before doing anything

I bought 4 new Pirelli tires from Mavis Discount Tire to replace the 4 on my wife’s Lexus. After a few weeks someone at a car wash noticed one of the tires was defective. My wife took the car back and was told 2 different times to come back and they would replace it. When it came in on the third trip, we spoke with the manager who informed us that he would not replace it. He agreed with his personnel that it was a defective tire but said he would lose his job if he replaced it. He was very rude to us. At that time we called Pirelli direct and found out Mavis Tire had lost their authorized Pirelli dealer status and would have to send it back to Pirelli. I was told this would take a couple of weeks and Mavis did not want to make the effort.
I took the tire to an authorized Pirelli Tire Dealership who sent the tire off. I was also told that it had to be noticeable when they mounted the tire. I believe not only did Mavis Tire cheat me but also could of committed fraud by selling me a known defective tire and putting my wife’s life in danger. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER BUYING TIRES FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!

Mavis Tire is very close to me, which was one of the first reasons why I went with them. Also, they’ve been around for over 50 years, and they have nice advertisements. Their service has all been very timely and professional. We have been doing inspections work, and I’ve had them change the oil 7 to 10 times on my cars. We've done tire rotations as well.
Overall, everything has been good but there was one incident where my wife got the tires rotated on her car and was charged $15 instead of $10 per tire. We’ve always gotten a discount on the tire rotations, which we didn’t know it’d be true, and that the $15 was the $15. We went back and spoke to a manager and he rectified it. He gave us three oil changes which made up for the difference in what we were charged. Our experience with Mavis has been convenient, fast and friendly. When there was an issue, they made it right. They went the extra mile to make sure your experience was satisfactory and that you’ll come back again.

I had three vehicles. I needed inspection, and I knew I needed the brakes on one, and I knew I needed tires on another. Mavis came new into the neighborhood and I tried them out. The service was very good but one of the three vehicles is still a problem. I have a 2013 Mazda and they did a great job but they messed up one of the hubs when they put on new rotors. So, I went back and they put on another set of brakes, and it still squealed like a pig. I'll probably go back there tomorrow and give them the car for a week, so they can fix it. Mavis had some turnover and so, I talked to the new manager who got a hold of the old manager. Now, it's a matter of when I have the time to drop it there and they're just gonna tear it apart and see what it is.
The first mechanic who did the original brake job is no longer there, which is probably a good idea. Otherwise, Mavis might end up buying me a whole new car because he really messed up the brakes. I don't know what he did since I wasn't there and it is what it is. I talked to the manager and had him go for a little ride with me. I said that it wasn't right and he said that they have to stand behind their work. I pulled the record and I saw everything that was done. He said they gotta make it right, which was all I was asking for. Now, all my other dealings with Mavis have been fine. They took care of the other two vehicles without any problems nor issues. Also, they're always friendly and courteous. The wait is usually too long, but that's with any place you go, even with an appointment, because they get busy and they get behind. I'm a reasonable guy and I can go for all that but there's one issue they have to take care of.
Anybody could make a mistake but when they're professional and they live up to it, then I'm okay. It might be an inconvenience, but that's all it is. Life's too short not to forgive and not to move forward, and that's what we’re doing. They get kudos for that. They're not making excuses. They tried to fix it although they didn't the last time, but they'll get it straightened up this time. Overall, the experience has been very good and their pricing is reasonable. Also, a big plus to me was that no matter what it was, they would listen to your point of view. If they didn't agree with something, they would come back and say not just a no but what they thought or what they were seeing. Plus, they were very good about explaining.
