    Should get zero stars. I got to two Cooper cs3 tires installed and asked about getting an alignment at the same time. Quoted 157 ish. After it was done now 240 ish. Ok wow so they go "oh well alignment is 80." I wouldn't have gotten it done if I knew that since it wasn't off at all. To my knowledge it was a check and fix if needed. "So hey we can do it for 200 ish", they say. I'm not happy but nothing I can do. I leave and my car is pulling to the left. Bad never did before. I call of course they are closed. I email them get told to bring it back or take it to a different place. I tell them I'm busy for a few days. End up taking to a different Mavis/sts. I don't tell them who did the alignment before them and oh boy do they say it's off and it must be pulling bad. We basically agree it probably was fine before Mavis touched it.

    I get a hold of Tony the regional Manager about the problem. He saying I'm lying the alignment can't be off. I say I got it fixed and want a refund because it's ridiculous and he said I was lying I didn't have it fixed. I explained I did and he tells me, "Fine we fixed it. You got what you paid for and I'm going to fire the employee who told you we messed up and fixed your car." And that all I wanted was a free alignment. I paid 40 dollars for them to mess my car up and fix it so I'm at square one and they get money that's fai. Plus somehow they ordered the wrong tires for my price quote but that's also me lying. Watch out for Tony in PA regional manager he will blame you and tell you his employees can't make mistakes and you should be happy they didn't charge you more to mess your car up. It's a clown show in PA.

    I had a coupon for Mavis and they got my brakes done. The parts are good quality even though they're cheap, but I watched the guy cool off for 20 minutes before he got started on my car when I was just sitting on the bench waiting. It took three and a half hours for a 15-minute service, so I wouldn’t go back in that branch. But in the other place, they went out of their way to get a part for my convertible that they didn’t have and to get it overnighted. Then I also brought my truck there to get a shackle replaced. I needed the truck for the next day and they put me in front of a bunch of other people and did it in only an hour. They’re good people.

    While the price was not cheap, all the work done by Mavis (STS Metuchen) was fair, reasonable, and necessary. This was a 14 year old car with 90,000 miles. It needed some work on suspension, tires, and hoses. I am glad I took it to STS because they found the problems, explained everything in good detail, and did the work in a day. I went back the next day for a fix engine light and they fixed that right away no charge, it was a side effect of the other work they had done. Highly recommended.

    I've always been going to Mavis for anything to do with tires, tread, or alignment. Any tires that I buy, I only buy from them. I've been going to them for about 30 years. I've only had one negative experience in the last year or two. The rest have all been very positive. When they moved to South Road, Poughkeepsie, I've been going there since. However, I now favor going to Parker Avenue because I had a flawless experience with them. The people at Parker Avenue look out for me, and if I need something done, they always find a way to get it done even when they don't have a lot of people there.     Mavis Tire has a stable staff there. Whenever I go, they’re always nice to me and they try to do their best to take care of me. However, I was a little disappointed this last time but it wasn’t the fault of the folks behind the counter. I didn’t have the number with me, I needed an oil change, so I called and I found later I’ve been attached to the corporate number. They quoted me a price but it wasn’t correct. So when I got there and my car was up on the lift, then they looked at what they actually had to put in there, it’s been doubled what I’ve been quoted. They quoted me 24 bucks and it was 45 bucks by the time I left. It was a bad error on the corporate side but my experience with the local guys has been positive.

    I mostly go to them for oil changes. I own a Honda so they don’t really break down, but I got brakes done there and a muffler pipe that had rotted out. The muffler pipe and the catalytic converter rusted together because in Buffalo there’s a lot of chemicals on the road, so everything rots on the underbelly of the car. They knew I had to get on the road quickly and they quoted me to replace just the muffler pipe. They didn’t promise me about the catalytic converter but they said they’d do their best to try and preserve it, which they ultimately did. I had gotten one quote before I got there, and they wanted to charge me for the catalytic converter, which added several hundred dollars to the bill. I thought it was darn nice in that they tried to save me a buck, and it just got me coming back to them. In general, it’s been a very good experience with them. One bad experience doesn’t turn off all the good ones.

    My first two initial visits for really great mechanics are wonderful period. Came back in after 2000 miles on my truck after it was aligned due to my tires wearing extremely badly on the outer edge. Manager at the times that I need to speak to add about the tires and see what they're going to do. Week went by no word from Ed. No call. Call the shop and if it go and asked what they were going to be doing they said they will not be doing anything as I have a lift on my truck. This was not stated when I first signed up to have my truck aligned with them.

    I asked them when I did bring the truck down the first time if they could align a truck with a 6 & a half inch lift and 20 inch rims with off-road tires. They said "yes bring it on down." So with them stating this I thought they could actually do an alignment for my truck without ruining $400 piece tires which I have to replace now. I would like to be contacted by the general manager to rectify this issue as I'm not getting anywhere with the Ithaca store management. Thank you.

    On July 6th I took my 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis in for a front end alignment. I arrived approx 10:45 am. I was advised the car needed an idler arm and a shock was leaking. I gave them the ok to make the repairs. I sat at Mavis until approx 6:45 pm after closing time. First I had to wait for them to get the parts, which was fine, then the afternoon slowly slipped away. At approx 3:00 pm, the manager, Mary, came over to me and told me a bolt had stripped when they tried to remove it. She had sent someone for a new bolt and car would be ready shortly. Approx 4:30 pm I went up and asked what the hold-up was. I was told they were still looking for a bolt, but may have found one. At approx 5:30 pm, I observed them moving car to bay for alignment. At approx 6:30 am Mary, the manager came over and told me they couldn't do alignment. The case needed a inner tie rod and sleeve and she would call me in am with price.

    It was almost 7:00 when I left shop. Car was steering funny but thought it was because of alignment. The next morning on my way in from Henrietta NY, on the expressway, the tie rod passenger side fell off. I had to have the car towed to the garage. The mechanic there said that the tie rods were loose and never tightened up. Mavis is still giving me the runaround regarding covering my out of pocket expenses for their negligence. Aside from being almost killed they are now forcing me to take legal action and a complaint to Better Business Bureau. I thought this was just human error but now I'm not sure if it was deliberate as they expected me to have the work done. Also I took my car to Monro Muffler on Saturday the 9th and alignment was performed without a problem. Do not take your car to Mavis tire. Spencerport NY 14606 Mavis at this point has a copy of my repair bill from Todd's Automotive for towing and tightening up front end parts.

    On July 12, we brought our car into Mavis. Mavis of East meadow at 2139 Hempstead Turnpike. They did an oil change, checked brakes, tires, front end, alignment. They then changed out 2 shocks and did the wheel alignment. He told us he checked all the wheels, axles, everything. So, I guess you don't take responsibility for a misdiagnosis? We were advised the tires may need to be replaced but all else looked ok. I had advised them we heard noises, like rumblings. They said that was because of the alignment being off and there was some oil on the tires but nothing of concern. Also, when doing an oil change you need to make sure you change out the screws.

    Boy oh boy, aren't these all signs of an axle being worn out? And I was told the axle looked fine. But then, I was told you never looked at that stuff. Lies, lies and more lies. Then lies in emails from your company. When a child makes up stories, it changes over and over. In emails I was told we never advised them of driving issues, again lie. We told them of noises which is why he checked all tires and even stated the tires were wearing and that's why we had the noises. NO. YOUR company misdiagnosed things. And my wife was not shown the shocks, she did not pick up the van, I did. Another lie. LIES and lies. I was told of grease, told of tire wearing, etc. What a bunch of nonsense. I was also told in an email that the axle was not leaking and had no tears or markings on it. BUT, wait, Ray, regional manager, told me they didn't look at the axles and would have no knowledge if they were worn. AGAIN, LIES!!!

    Fast forward to July 14, my wife is driving the car, the axle snaps, pops tire and puts my family in danger of a real serious situation. Thankfully my family was able to get out of car safely and was able to get a tow. YOU'RE telling me that only 2 days later after this you have zero fault? I know I am not crazy, are you? Why, if were told everything was ok, did this happen 2 days later. Your mechanics messed up and they know it.

    I decided to reach out to your customer service and voiced my frustration. Later on, Michael from Mavis called my wife. My wife said I'd call back, which I did and I asked for a manager, they sent me through to a guy I believe named Frank. To no avail, he was not helpful, just said they were right and I was wrong. I then kept emailing customer service and they advised me that a regional manager would contact me. His name was Ray. Well, I am not sure of your hiring but I'd be embarrassed of a manager that has zero empathy, right or wrong, for any customer. I've been in customer service for over 20 years, and that was really gross. The tone of his voice was not helpful. I became more frustrated and irate. He then hung up on me. Go listen to that call, please do, and you decide on that if you'd like. I was told in an email that I was treating him inappropriately. What a joke and a cop out.

    I was really irate but a manager should be able to listen and understand, not take the easy way out and folding to a little pressure from a customer. That's weak and that also shows how uncomfortable he was with the information he was giving me. He said they had nothing to do with the axle breaking. Such nonsense. The next mechanic that looked at the car and I had to spend another good amount of money said they should've seen this with all the work and inspection they did. The oil, the sounds the car made. I was going back and forth with customer service a few times and then the lies starting flying in. Michael stated that my wife said she hit a curb, this was written in an email to me. My wife never said this to him, and when questioned about that, I got a very informatively incompetent email without ever answering that question. Just shows the incompetence of what your company stands for.

    I went to Mavis for a brake work. I liked it at first. I had the back brakes done and then, two months later, I decided to go and have my front brakes done. I was then told that I need all new brakes. I told them that I just had them do the brakes two months ago in the back. So then, the mechanic goes and looks at it again, "Oh, they're good." I go, "Yeah. They're good now because you found out they're new." I'm very dissatisfied with my experience with them.

The techs are always neat and the place is clean except for the landscaping which needs a lot of work.     I went to get two tires for my Grand Cherokee. Spent $459.00 for the tires and wheel alignment and total horror show from there. Firstly, told car was ready and paid and went outside to leave and noticed both rims (20" alloy) had deep gouges in them from tire machine. Brought it to attention of manager, Chris who said, "No problem. We will send them out and make it right." OK, so I drive home and notice the steering wheel is off center, so to drive straight the wheel had to be turned 10 degrees to the left. Brought the car back the next day and they had the car back and the wheels were fixed and they said they rechecked the alignment and all was fixed. Sure enough the steering wheel was still off center. After the mechanic on two attempts finally got the steering wheel to center.

    OK, I thought all was good. Boy was I wrong. I drove about two miles and the service tire monitoring light came on and the vehicle is able to show each wheel's tire pressure. The left front had no reading and was red in color where the other three were green with readings. Also when I checked the after the first visit all the pressures were different on all four tires.

    There was no way I was going to let these incompetent mechanics touch my vehicle now, so I took it to my regular mechanic who said they probably broke the sensor when they mounted the new tires. He tried with an air gun to loosen the lugs nuts to get the tire off and it wouldn't budge. He finally had to use a regular lug wrench with a pry bar to break the seal. He said they were super overtightened. He replaced the wheel sensor for an additional cost to me of $ 76.00. Now two days later I get another service tire pressure system and wouldn't you know it, it was the front passenger tire they replaced. At this point I wouldn't take a go-cart to the place to fix. Total incompetence of employees.

    I had purchased a set of 4 tires 2 weeks ago. I was told they were good for Hybrids, and will help my gas mileage. Not true. My gas mileage dropped 5.5 MPG. I went to the store and spoke to Marek (Mark) about the problem. He told me to call the main office, which I did. Within an hour of that call Mark and told me they would switch the tires. We discussed which ones would be good. I chose Michelin Energy Saver A/S Green X. So far, and we are speaking about 200 miles in 2 days, the ride feels better. The mileage seems good, but I will not know for sure until I fill up my tank 2 or 3 times. I wish I hadn't taken the Warranty on the original tires, which I had to get with the Michelin. But that is the only negative.

    I have been trying to contact this company for the past week now in regards to possibly purchasing some critical tires following an unfortunate circumstance. Last week alone, I called at least 6 times a day for 3 days. Consequently, I kept getting hung up on while speaking to an individual or getting transferred around like a hot potato. Nobody wants to take responsibility and help.

    During one of the interactions, I asked if I could speak to someone from the sales dept. One of the receptionist refused to get me to the right department only to keep me on the phone arguing with me that since his computer was not displaying "SSR" alongside Continental ContiProContact runflat which are the tires that I have been looking for and have been using for the past 8 years that they are completely different tires. Continental ContiProContact only have one runflat featured tire. Smart guy. And I'm pretty sure that he saw the SSR listed on the title on his end but since I was calling for a price match it was in his best interest to tell me that continental CONTI-PROCONTACT SSR and Continental ContiProContact runflat were different from another.

    Following day, I was contacted by a store rep due to a price match form I filed online. He knew nothing of why he was calling me so I literally had to explain to him the reason why I believed he may have been calling me since I had never gave anyone from that company my number except for the time that I was filing that particular form. Given of everything I had previously encountered with the company I told him that I appreciated his attempt to call me and that I would rather call the corporate office for effective assistance.

    Yesterday on the 19th of May 2016 I then reached out to the company and was referred to ** from the mail and order dept to help with my order and price match and after multiple attempt to contact him he was not answering his phone. I called one last time that very same day and the receptionist from that point checked to see if ** was available and ** then advised him that he was busy. The receptionist took my information and informed me that ** would call me once he became available and I have yet to hear from him. If it is possible, I really would like to speak to a manager within this company. Thank you kindly.

    I love Mavis Tire. We actually go to Cole, but it's the same brand, and based on the people who work there, we really like them. They are accommodating, responsive, and reasonably priced. We trust them so we go there all the time. Most recently, we had one car in for an oil change and general check up. Another car had an oil hose that needed to be replaced because it had leaked. They found the issue promptly, explained it to us and showed me the part that needed to be fixed. They ordered it while I was there and thought the soonest that they could have the part and the car done would be Wednesday or they'd get the part in on but they had the car done early on Wednesday.     Went to Mavis for a flat tire and was conned into buying 4 new tires with the lure of a Goodyear credit card that I was told was interest free for 12 months. Stupidly I didn't read the brochure I filled out and believed what Mavis told me. AS it turned out it was only 6 months. I am on SS and don't have 14,000 hanging around to spend on tires so accepted the "supposed" 12 month no interest credit card. I faithfully paid $100 per month for 6 months. When I got my next bill, it showed $200 in interest that they were charging me because I didn't have it paid off in 6 months. I was shocked. I called Goodyear and explained that I thought it was a 12 month deal.

    They said, "go to Mavis and have THEM call us to get you a 12 month interest free deal." I went to Mavis and in front of me, they called and asked for the 12 months interest free. When they hung up, the Mavis guy told me they said ok to the 12 months and it would show up in my 2nd following bill. After my 3rd bill came with no changes I called Goodyear and talked to a rude woman who told me they were still "thinking" about whether to give the 12 months to me or not. The 4th bill came and still nothing. So I had to borrow money from a friend to pay off the rest of the bill before I ended up paying double for the tires. I am cancelling my Goodyear crapola credit card and will NEVER do business with Mavis or Goodyear again.

    All in one week. No matter what I say or what I do to make sure my service is anything but a fiasco, never seems to help. Took my 06 Malibu to the Fishkill store on 3/23. As soon as the store opens with little customer volume it takes about 2 hours to install new Conti pro contacts. Tires were in stock. I get home and not one tire had the same pressure. I noticed immediately that they did not replace two valve stems. Called up and they said, "Let us look at it."

    After quick inspection you could see that the ten year old stems were still on the car. When I drove the car home it did not shake or shimmy. The tech at least got that right. After they replaced the valve stems I took the car on the highway and it shook from 65 to 75. I had to take it back again to get rebalanced. (Three trips and over 50 mile of driving back and forth.)

    My next episode was on Saturday 3/26 with Mavis, took from 8:30 am - 3:30 PM. Almost my entire day just dealing with total stupidity. That Saturday. I called same store to order Conti Pro Eco Plus 245 45 17 for my 02 mustang. Mike took the call. I gave him my cell to let me know when they get there. I waited and waited and then I had called. Oh yes, we got them in about hour ago. No call.

    I get there and I am speaking to Mike. I say to Mike, "Please make sure you use the stick on weights inside the rim because that's what this car requires and that last few times you guys tapped on weights you scored my wheels and they fall off most of the time before I even get home." His reply was strange as he tried to tell me that I don't want symmetrical weights because they suck. After coming up with some story about weights that I never heard of nor made any sense whatsoever. I asked if he had my cell number. Yes we have your number. Oh because you did not call me to let me know my tires arrived I wanted to make sure you had it. Conversation started to get very weird and the stare down made me uncomfortable. I left all 4 wheels there.

    I went home. Waited till 1 then called. I was told they are working on them now but they are ready when they are ready. I get there and the last wheel is being balanced. So I look through the window and see what? I see all 4 tires balanced with stick on weights on the outside of the rim exactly how I asked them not to be done. So I asked Mike. Why were they done that way when he and I had that exact conversation to specifically request inside stick on weights? His reply, "I am just the peon in the front that is not allowed to talk to people inside the shop so I tell Jose what happened and he says, 'No problem - we will do it that way.'"

    The next phase is incredible. The tech, some older guy that looked like he was not really interested in what he was doing at all. I see him balance one tire, add the new stick on weights then after he did that take off the old hammered on weights. OMG. The next tire he takes off the hammer on weights and replaces them with inside stick on weights without ever spinning the machine and actually balancing the tire.

    I at this point I think I am going to have nervous breakdown. I run in the work area asking Jose and Josh, "Why is your tech adding and removing weights without actually running the machine." I demanded that they all be rebalanced and that the machine be run as I watch through the glass. So slow, so delayed, Looked like this guy was talking all the time he wanted to just make it that much more painful. I bought my tires there at 830 AM and they were not completed till 330.

    Mavis is the only shop that has the volume and hours where you can get tires you need and on a weekend when you have to. Other than that, I have almost never gotten proper service and you have to beg them not to damage your car and do things right. My 02 Mustang still shows the damage from the Brewster store over years ago when the tech lifted the car up and deformed my lower body molding. My 2013 Fusion same thing but not as bad. Not replacing my valve stems on 600 dollars worth of new rubber. Having to rebalance twice.

    Then last rub of my holiday weekend watching them right in front of the customer not running the balancing machine as they are putting on weights by eye. I don't get how they can do business this way or stay in business. It seems like no one runs the shops. There is no authority or the feeling that someone is in charge at all. I have to go there most of the time but I dread my experience also most of the time.

    I have never been treated so well. The manager and staff went out of their way and also did a great job and fast too. Great company to work with. They are a 10 in my book.
