I’d to say that on 2-10-20 I went to the local Mavis store in Carmel NY. The techs and administration were excellent. Service was great. The store manager was helpful. Bought 4 tires for my 2004 Honda Civic and price was great. I will look forward to returning. Thank you for the opportunity to give them the rating.

Found Mavis Tire online while checking prices for tires, they were the best priced! Made appointment online and about an hour later got a call to confirm my appointment, they took excellent care of my care and treated me as if I was the only customer there. Scott greeted me as I walked in and took great care of me and my car. I will definitely be back.

Yesterday I had my car inspected and a driver side tire plugged. The experience was not pleasant and I wrote a negative review today. At that point in time I was done with Mavis. Well your Manager Mike ** took the time to call me to get a sense of the problem I had and re-align Mavis with me the customer. Mike and I have been doing business at the rocky point Mavis since it was bought in 2008 and he was genuinely concerned as to what could have happened that would cause such a rift.
I explained in detail and he was understanding and supportive. I came away from the conversation with the firm belief that here is a Manager (Mike **) and a company that knows and understands the customer and is prepared to go the extra mile to keep them...this is a turn of 180 degrees from this morning's experience. Because of this follow up conversation with Mike I will remain a Mavis customer and if I need to have my car repaired or tires changed or bought I will ensure that Mike is on duty as he is the kind of "customer- centered" Manager that I expect and the kind of Manager that the Mavis organization should embrace..feel free to call me..Ron **.

I contacted Mavis Discount Tires for a quote on a set of 4 tires for my Honda Accord. In my research I found the same tires cheaper at another vendor and clicked on the link on Mavis' site explaining that a cheaper price was found elsewhere. I was called by the corporate office and told the new price was a few dollars cheaper than the competitor. I agreed to the price and made an appointment for the tires. I also needed an oil change. When I arrived at the store, I went in and gave the manager my order number. He said everything was ready. They had the tires in stock and would get it started.
I asked about an oil change and was told they do them. I did not see any prices posted nor was I told the price. My error was I assumed it would be close to other oil change shops. Nowhere were the prices posted in the lobby. The manager said he would put 2 guys on the car to get it done since I was on lunch from work. I said I appreciate that. He also said he strongly suggested a wheel balancing and an alignment. I knew with new tires it is a good idea, so I said yes.
The tire cost was about $400.00, the alignment was $90.00. When I got the bill, it was over $600.00. I did not think the oil change was $65.00. If I had known, I would have said no. According to the manager after several calls, voice messages and emails, I was told that, but I do not recall hearing that price being said. I was also told they record all business in the lobby, which is not posted anywhere. And the fees and taxes on the tires were never fully explained to me. I know the NJ state tax and disposal fees. But there was a miscellaneous tax on my bill and no one ever explained that. I ended up paying more than the less expensive quote I got from the other tire store. Yes, my car was done in about the time the manager said it would be done. But nowhere are prices posted for services.
Dear Bill, we apologize for this confusion on pricing! We were able to find a copy of your invoice and confirmed that the pricing for the tires and installation match your quote. The only other costs we found were for the full synthetic oil change you mentioned ($59.99 with $10 off coupon) and an alignment for $89.99. That's a difference of about $149.98 plus tax. We absolutely want to connect with you regarding this pricing so we can figure out a resolution that would make you happy! We have created a ticket in the system for you to the Regional Manager who will connect with you immediately!

Needed a few days to collect my financial resources together to take care of a slightly-larger-than-average repair. Any other mechanic would have felt the heat, and started with the threats after 2-3 days after the repair was made. Mike instead kept his cool, gave me some space to do what I had to do (all of which makes me work even harder to come thru in a timely manner), told me not to worry about it from the beginning, and, as always, treated me more like a guest in his home than like your typical manager at a garage. The work under his leadership is top-notch, and I know in the event of a problem, if it was do to anything related to a part, or the labor, Mike will stand by the work, parts, and the brand.
There are plenty of garages in town, but I come back to Mavis because Mike takes care of me. He's an asset to the town, for those of us looking for that level of service, and to the company as well, as he has a knowledgeable hand in just about everything going on in the shop, in order to stay informed and on top of things, so that he can be personally accountable to the customer. Of course, no one looks forward to "coming back," any more than one looks forward to his next dentist trip. But he can count himself fortunate who has a mechanic he can rely on.

As I was driving from Long Island to Mt. Vernon my tire pressure light came on. My cousin suggested that I visit this Mavis. On my way there I got lost and arrived at the store literally two minutes before closing. I had to pick up my children and was nervous to drive in the horrendous weather with it on. They could have turned me away, however they did not. They took my car and evaluated it. The outcome was that there wasn't a leak just low pressure. They put air in all of my tires. They made it safe for me to drive with our children back home. I cannot express my gratitude. If there were more than 5 stars this store would definitely have it.

Car still has the same problem, was told by the manager Ray" that if I have problems I "CAN'T BRING IT BACK." I paid my money for labor and parts and expected not to be treated that way. The car has been brought to the shop for suspicion that the strut was faulty. Ray went so far as to misdiagnose the problem on Jan 9th (I believe). He told me it was the axle and that I should replace, then if I still have the problem then bring it back and he would replace the strut.
I took the vehicle to Mavis in Fort Lee where Rich verified it was a leaking strut. He couldn't warranty it and said Ray would have to from his store. So we have Ray "LYING" about the problem. In doing so I have 2 days loss of use! Which equal 2 days loss of wages to the company. Ray just cost my company approximately $150 each day that the car sat in the shop. I was told I would receive a phone call regarding this issue from sum sort of supervisor or regional manager but I HAVE NOT! I'm very disappointed and if the strut was NOT REPLACED or is STILL LEAKING I WILL BE DISPUTING ALL CHARGES ASSOCIATED WITH THE REPAIRS. MY Phone number is **.
Dear Sean, we truly apologize for your experience at our location in Hackensack. Our records indicate that you did connect with the Regional manager, Tom, and that he had you scheduled to visit our Fort Lee location to diagnose the vehicle and have it looked over immediately. When searching to buy new tires in our new town, free rotation was important to our decision. Everywhere we have ever purchased tires or gotten a rotation included balancing with rotation. We didn’t realize any reputable place would rotate tires without balancing! We bought from Mavis. Went for first rotation before a road trip. The vehicle shook like crazy on the interstate for the entire trip. Returned to Mavis to be informed their free rotation doesn’t include balancing and that would be $10 per tire! Not to mention another hour+ in their waiting room less than 1 week later. Would not recommend purchasing tires from Mavis if free rotation and balance is important to you.

Wheel alignment 1-20-20. No printout from computer showing before and after alignment specs, service tech said I didn't ask for one. Third time alignment done at this shop never had to ask for printout before. Service tech said can't give me one as tech done with Alignment and working on another car on other side of shop. This is part of alignment service. Just like your bill should show what you're paying for. Now I will look for another tire shop. This is second problem with Mavis.
The first real problem I had with Mavis at a different shop in Wappingers Falls NY. Had my state inspection done. Took five hours. Kept asking why it's taking so long. Was told each time car almost ready. It'll be a few more minutes. Six months later changing oil I found out why. I had five hour inspection, the so called tech had somehow broken my right fog light body and they put it Back together with epoxy. It seems they hire none mechanics with no experience in auto repair. Will not ever go back to mavis.

I called to get a price which was a good price at the time. I specifically asked the salesperson Karl if the price was complete and included everything. He assured me the price ($201.96) was correct for 2 tires and an alignment. When I got to the store to check in, I again told them what I had been quoted over the phone. After a 2 hour wait (I had an appointment) plus another hour to install and align, I went to the counter to pay. I was told it would be $278.00 plus tax. Obviously I was perturbed and argued that I had been quoted $201.96 and that the price had been confirmed by the sales person Karl. The sales lady admonished me for being mad at her and said that I was talking to a corporate sales site, not the store. She said she couldn't honor the price I was quoted, but did discount the price to $261.00 plus tax.
I think anyone looking for tires in Savannah should be very wary of Mavis Discount Tires on Victory Drive. At the very least you should get a written estimate and have the manager sign it.

A few months ago I took my car into Mavis at 3280 Sheridan Dr, Amherst, NY 14226 to get a leaky tire fixed. The next day the tire was not just leaky but 100% flat. I used fix a flat instead of bringing back to Mavis and that fixed tire. A few weeks later my wife took her car in for an oil change. The next day we had huge puddle of oil in the driveway. When I took back to Mavis they said they did not tighten drain plug all the way then said the rain would clean my driveway. Then I bring my car in for an inspection on 1/18/20 and on the way home with my son in the car my alarm goes off that the hood is not latched. How can a technician give a car back and not latch the hood? I did not use my car on Sunday then on Monday morning my front left tire was 100% flat and I had to get a ride to work. Coincidence maybe but Mavis is 3 for 3 in the last 3 visits for very poor quality of service.

I had an issue with having tires installed on my new car at Mavis. They failed to tell me both times I had made an appointment for winter tires that they were not in stock. The last time I showed for my appointment was during a snow storm and I desperately needed tires. I ended up driving 20 miles in the snow to another Mavis location for tires. After they were installed, the price was $100 higher than I was quoted at the other location. When I inquired about the price difference I was told they use different coupons at every location (which doesn't make any sense).
I contacted customer service by email that day, and heard nothing for two weeks. I sent a second email two weeks later, and they closed my complaint without a response at all. I called the customer service line to figure out why it was closed. To my surprise, the location my tires were installed at was a franchise location. Apparently customer service cannot help you at all if your issue is with a franchise location. All they could do was send the manager another email to take care of my complaint. Here I am one month after my initial complaint and nothing has been done. I even tried to get their "price match guarantee" and that isn't happening either. All I can say is stay away from Mavis, they are not "the best" as they claim to be. Now I am out over $100 and there's nothing that can be done.
Dear Thomas, we truly apologize that this franchise location would not honor our pricing. They are unfortunately a separate entity from us and are not obligated to honor our price match policy. That being said, you are OUR customer and we want to do all we can to make this right for you! We will have a consumer solutions specialist reach out to you from our headquarters immediately to regain your confidence in our company!

Took my wife's car in to have 4 tires mounted on new wheels, and high speed balanced. Sales guy suggested an alignment which I agreed to, since it hadn't been done. Got the car back, shook terribly. They rebalanced the tires, claimed they hadn't been high speed balanced, was better but still a slight shake, went back again. Now they claimed my new wheels needed spacers on the front but took off spacers that were still on the hubs, seemed to help. Wife drive the car to work, now it pulls to the left. Made an appointment with another Mavis shop, they found the pitman and idler arm were bad and the balancing on the wheels was still incorrect. Now I have to go back to the original Mavis shop and try and get a refund on the $129.00 alignment that was not going to work with two bad parts in the front end. I'm done with Mavis.

He called the following day and was argumentative, hostile and extremely unhelpful telling me that a $90 oil change was what they charge and I'm basically SOL. I said I was told it was $81 (which I still think is high even for synthetic) but was charged $87. When I inquired how the cost (oil, labor, additional oil, etc) did not add up to the $87 he kept trying to hang up on me and tell me that this is what it costs. Nowhere is it listed on the website or on site how much a synthetic oil change costs. It ended with him telling me to have a nice day and hanging up on me. Then I said I don't know about your mechanic if he left or know I gave a van to Mavis discount tires not to your mechanic. He said, "I can't do that today," so I told him then why you took an appointment. I told him if you were overbooked then why you took my van and keep me waiting for 3 hours? Then we had an argument. And then he said, "Come back tomorrow, talk to ANTHONY, he will give you discount. He will take care of you." Today is Sunday. I had a plans with family but I came back pissed of on MAVIS DISCOUNT TIRES. Waste my 3 and half hours at Mavis discount tires for nothing. Really a bad day.
Dear Tayyab, we apologize that your time was wasted. On 12/3/19 my brakes were squealing and when trying to stop, my brake pedal went to the floor and the car kept going. So I went to the Sun Tire location we had always used and learned that Mavis Discount Tire had taken it over. When I walked in the waiting room was full, and people were milling around outside. I explained to the fellow at the front desk that I needed new brake pads and possibly might need new pads and my rotors turned. He gave my tires a cursory glance and said it could be done within the next two hours -- even though the four customers ahead of me had already been there 3-4 hours already.
Then he encouraged me to open a line of credit, for which I would have $1500 on a Mavis Discount Card, and also promised that I would get a $60 Visa Loyalty. The only fly in the ointment was that I had to have the initial repairs PAID COMPLETELY OFF within six months. I had no money, so I signed on the dotted line and thought I was getting a great deal. MIND YOU: The other front desk manager had been called in because that location was understaffed that day; he had to bring his toddler to work. She was quiet and well behaved for the entire 4-5 hours I was there. Only ONE MECHANIC was working on the four cars ahead of mine, so the fellow at the desk that I had initially talked to about financing said he was going to go out in the bays and start helping that one mechanic.
Long story short? I don't know whether the front desk guy was a certified or licensed mechanic; he may or may not have ever had any experience doing a brake job. Four hours later I was charged with $495.45 for parts, $207.99 for labor, $49.24 for sales tax, and the final bill was $752.68!! When my husband got home, he said they saw a sucker walk through the door and I fell for their shtick. That wasn't the end of it! Fast forward to 12/27/19. My brakes were gone again; mashing on the pedal did nothing and I was skidding through stop signs with my grandbaby in the car. It was scary. So I took the car back to them, and explained that something had not been done right. They said the previous repairs had been done correctly, but now my MASTER CYLINDER was gone, and the brake fluid couldn't get through to the system.
After an additional two hours of waiting I was presented with another service invoice: $139 for the master cylinder (you know; it is that small part behind your battery when you open you your hood) another $117.00 for the labor, $17.93 in sales tax (drum roll please) and the final amount: $274.09. Not only have I not yet received the Mavis Discount Tire revolving credit card or the $60 Visa Loyalty Card, I have not yet been sent an invoice or bill from this company which might place me in default on my line of credit. In addition, our family has the dubious distinction of driving around with an expensive $1000 brake job -- on a used 19 year old Ford Escape XLT that was manufactured in Japan and sent to the USA back in the year 2000. SUGGESTION: Call around to other tire service centers and get a number of estimates before settling with someone who took over your old mechanic's business. Now how much

I had a tire replaced a few weeks ago at the Marlboro NJ location. Dropped off my car in the morning and Was called that the job was done so I had a family member drop me off. Well the manager of the place told me that the tire had not actually arrived at the store yet. (Then why was I called saying the job was done..?) Okay, I hung out in the lobby until it was ready. Had to wait an additional 2 hours until it was finally done. Fast forward a few days later and my car is making a large grinding sound whenever I accelerate from stand still. Assuming that this is my break pad/rotor. I never had this problem until Mavis installed the new tire. Now I need to go back and have this checked.. Very disappointed with my service here.
Anthony, we apologize for your experience at our Marlboro location. I went to Mavis At Beacon, NY for an inspection. Been 12/31 they were near work and had the inspection ticket available. I decided to also have an oil change. Work was done. I pay the bill. Was handed my key. I drove to my house about an hour an engine light turned on. I got to my driveway. Smell of burn. I opened the hood. Wallah the Mavis mechanic did not put the cap back on. I was driving with no oil and my clean car had oil everywhere. It’s New Year’s Eve at 4:35pm. No response from Mavis the store and corporate will only take a message. I am not sure if my engine is damaged. I live up state can’t get an Uber and can’t get to work. Might loose my job and have no car. Just because of a careless mistake.
Dear Sandra, we are pleased to have learned that the Regional, Patrick, was able to pay to get your car repaired and we would be more than happy to take care of getting the car detailed for you at your convenience! Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist you!

Having lived within two miles from this location I have been a customer of this tire store for many years prior to Mavis's taking ownership. I have probably bought 12 sets of tires there with no major issues. Since Mavis has taken ownership these have been my experiences... The first was to purchase a new set of tires without issue.
The second was to have my wife's tires rotated and an oil change. We dropped off the vehicle at 8:00 am and the man said it would be ready in a couple of hours. This was no problem as my wife did not have to be at work until noon. So we went to do errands and have lunch at which point we returned at 11:30 and was told the car was not ready. I took my wife to work and around 3:30 that afternoon I got a call that the car was ready. So being home alone I set out and walked the 2 miles to retrieve the car unhappy about the situation.
The third time with my dealings with Mavis I had a blowout on my RV one morning on my way to Dauphin Island. I was able to change the tire and proceed to the campground where I called Mavis to get a quote for a new tire and received a reasonable quote and told they have the tire in stock. So I loaded the flat tire in the truck and proceeded to drive the 45 miles to Mavis thinking I could be back on the island before a scheduled fishing trip with my son that afternoon. when I arrived I was informed that they did not have the tire in stock but they did at their Saraland location (another 30 MILES AWAY!!). Needless to say we missed our trip that day.
The fourth experience I had to have my trucks oil changed and tires rotated. To summarize see experience number two. Again an all day wait even though the store was not very busy that day. The fifth experience. My wife got a nail in her tire. Luckily the car was home when the tire went flat. I changed the tire and discovered two of the lugs were cross threaded and I had to break them to get the flat off. I had to work the next day so I told my wife to bring the car and have the lugs replaced, repair the tire and place the spare in the trunk. When I came home from work the lugs were replaced the tire repaired but the spare was still on the vehicle (the repaired tire was in the trunk).
My sixth and final experience was recently I had to take a trip to North Carolina on short notice. I was apprehensive about Mavis at this point but they were very convenient from my proximity so I told my wife I would give them one last chance. So I called for a quote on a new set of Michelin Defender tires for my truck, received a reasonable quote and scheduled an appointment for the following Friday.
Upon my arrival at 8:00 am for my appointment I was informed the tires had arrived a few days prior but after three days the tires were returned to their warehouse so they did not have them. I had to leave the next day for North Carolina!! I in no uncertain terms expressed my disgust with Mavis and stormed out. I was able to find the tires (in stock) at a competing store where we discovered the key for my locking lugs was not in the glove box which it resided for 16 years. I am unaware if this particular store is representative of Mavis as a whole but this location should be avoided like the plague.

Well I ordered two tires for my 2002 Oldsmobile Spero..all good. Made appt for two days away. It was Christmas eve..took car in at 3 pm. All good..it took 1 hour 30 mins approx to finish installing two front tires. All good. Then on way home my dash board lit up like a Christmas tree. 4 warning lights came on..all well and good. Took it back the next day. They put it up on lift and show me part that's bad. Speed Sensor in drivers side wheel..ok..well car went in for two tires remember. No warning lights on dash..now they tell me the impact gun sometimes vibrates things and they break..ok well it a 17 year old car. They say it's expected.
Now let me tell you I have a son with leukemia that was with me when I originally got tires installed and he witnessed the lights on dash coming on..on the way home also. So all good. No resolution..do I call the corporate office of your shops. Well let me say I demanded my car to be fixed. And he said no way this was the Newton NJ store. So my only recourse is small claims court..for a car that went in for two tires..that drives around a kid with leukemia..shame on my Mavis tire in Newton and corporate offices.. In not a Adverage how I been doing work on my own cars since I was very young. And not fooled easily by shady mechanics..
Dear William, we truly apologize for your experience at the location. Your incident was initially investigated by the Regional Training Manager, Kevin, who watched the footage of your vehicle being serviced from 3:30pm - 4:20pm. It was confirmed that the tires were removed and re-installed according to procedure and without any incident. Your wheel speed sensor sits inside the hub located behind your brake rotor and it is unfortunately not possible for it to become damaged due to a tire removal or re installation. That being said, we never want to leave any of our customers feeling frustrated or ignored so your incident will be re-opened for review to see if there is something we can do to try and assist you with the wheel speed senor issue you are experiencing. Our priority is to treat others how we would want to be treated and it is our hope that we can regain your business as it is valued.

I brought my daughter's (new to her, first. car) 2009 Mazda 6 to Newburgh N.Y. Mavis in 4/18 after installing new parts in the front and rear steering and suspension, knowing it would need an alignment. I was an automobile mechanic in the 80's. The tires the car came with were practically brand new. Fast forward 6 mos. (6k mikes) later while checking the tire pressures for her I noticed steel belts protruding from the insides of rear tires. I took it to Poughkeepsie (South Rd.) Mavis in 10/18 and had them put on the alignment rack and got them to admit that the rear (4 wheel alignment car) was so far out it was probably never aligned. Had them put 4 new Coopers on it and align it. On 12/28/19 I brought the car back because one the rear tires had a bubble in the sidewall and was showing unusual wear because of it. I left the car with them.
I received a call from them saying the mechanic didn't understand the work order and mistakenly installed 4 new of the same tires. They worked out a deal with me on keeping the 4 tires and throwing in a "free" 4 wheel alignment. I don't believe these tires could have been sold by them as new. If I didn't want them they would have to be dismounted. While talking on the phone with them and car was still up on the lift, I asked the mechanic to take a look at the tie rod ends being it was getting an alignment. Also, I suspected they might need replacing, the mechanic said they were fine. So I picked up the car.
I noticed some light clunks on turns while driving over irregularities in the road. I don't drive this car usually at all. So when I got home I jacked the car up one side at a time. Pulling on the wheel at 3 & 9 o'clock position had clunking and about 5/8" play on both wheels. Tie rod ends shot ! Do not take your car to Mavis for anything other than tires and mounting. Leave the mechanical stuff to real mechanics at a good Independent shop. I and anybody I know are done with them. Incompetency rules at Mavis.
Glenn, we are so pleased to hear that you and the Regional Manager, Patrick, were able to come to an agreement that left you and your daughter satisfied Mavis customers! We, again, truly appreciate you allowing us the opportunity to make this right and regain your confidence in our company. I purchased four Michelin P235/60R18 Lat Tour HP tires from Kaufman tire in Peachtree Corners, GA for my Volvo XC90. I have had the tires rotated and aligned at Mavis tire (since they purchased Kaufman tire). I had only 18,650 miles on the tires (that were supposed to last until 55,000 miles) and they were nearly bald, and the tires had worn past their wear indicators. I inquired about a proration for the tires from the Mavis Peachtree Corners location. They said that they would have to ask Michelin about the proration, that there would not be a definite payment for a proration for the 36,000 unused miles that I did not receive on the tires. They also indicated that it also depended upon the rotation and alignment schedules in their computers to weather they would provide me with a money credit for a proration.
Since Mavis tire has taken over Kaufman, I find from my experience at the Peachtree Corners location, that they cannot find some alignment and tire rotation records for my car. Mavis has also several performed several alignments for this car and they have not completed it successfully, and I had to return it to be realigned. I decided to get new tires from another tire service center. I would not recommend Kaufman tire for any of your car tire or service needs. I recommend going to a more reliable and ethical tire store that provides professional alignment and credit for underperforming tires.
Richard, we truly apologize for your experience at our Peachtree Corners location. Our store locations are charged with the responsibility of treating customers how we would want to be treated and we are sorry that the store did not go above and beyond to try and work out a pro rated cost on replacement tires for you. This review is not about the brand of tires I purchased, but the terrible service I received both from the sales department as well as the service department at two different locations. I wrote an extensive letter about my experiences and after two months contacted the regional manager since I had not received a response. He looked into the matter saying he had never received my letter although I had spoken to someone who was substituting for him while he was on vacation who told me they were aware of my problems and the regional manager would call me after he returned from vacation.
After giving him a month to return my call, I called him and he offered a small credit in my name whenever I visited again. I did not receive an apology regarding my experience...which included four complaints...and this token certainly does not come close to covering the money, time and stress caused by their team. As has been my experience in working with businesses, company culture is established and passed down from the top as seems to be the case with Mavis. I am a marketing customer service consultant and hoped to provide a service by giving them an opportunity to improve customer experience, but I believe this was an opportunity missed. Unfortunate!

Needless to say, I did not have them work on the car. I made an appt to purchase and have installed, 4 new tires at the 1894 Central Ave Colonie, NY Mavis store. Appt was made for Sunday at 9:00 am when the store opened. Arrived at 8:50. Two other customers were already inside. When I got to the counter and stated I had an appt for 9:00 am and hoped I would be getting in at 9:00, I was told they don't do appts, that the appt wasn't made through the store, but through their call center. I replied I made an appt and I was called, by Mavis to confirm the appt. He again said they don't do appts. He said I would be next inline, but the two others were ahead of me. I asked how long of a wait. He couldn't say because he didn't know how long the other vehicles would take. I said I would wait 30 minutes.
I called the store number again and it did go to the call center. I asked why they made appts if the store didn't honor them. I was told they do honor them. She placed me on hold and called the store to find out why my appt wasn't being honored. I was able to hear his side of the conversation. He told the caller center that he had many appts schedule for 9:00 am and that I would be the next customer inline. It would probably be in 1/2 an hour or so (I'd already been there for 1/2 an hour). That meant I would be waiting at least an hour in the waiting area... and that was if the either of the other cars were done in 1/2 an hours time, if it took longer then I would be waiting longer. Again, why make an appt at Mavis if they don't honor them?
The customer rep came back on the phone and was telling me what the employee said. I informed her I was in the store and hear what was said. She apologized that this happened and would try to find another Mavis in the area that could do it sooner. That was ridiculous, because if I was willing to drive all over the place to get to another Mavis, I could just wait at this Mavis. I walked to the counter and the employee went to the service area, got my keys, walked over to me and handed me the keys. I walked out.
My time is valuable to me. It may not be to Mavis, but it certainly is to me. To expect customers who make an appt for a precise time to wait an hour or more to have work done, when they make an appt ahead of time is very, very poor customer service. The call center rep said that a Corp. Rep would be in touch with me. I doubt this will happen because I am just one customer out of thousands they have every day... why would anyone reach out to one dissatisfied when they don't care enough to honor appt times?

Their prices are reasonable. They’re always quick to look at my car and quick to make the repairs. Everything was good up to a point. We brought my son’s car to have work on and then when we got back the car, there were still problems. The steering was wobbling and turning all the way to the side and the whole car was shaking. So then they recommended an alignment and they recommended to do something with the steering. They said they would fix it, but it was additional money and additional kind of work. I told them I was fine with that. But after I paid them $500, the wheel was still loose. When we start going fast, the steering wheel was still shaking. They should correct it because they said they recommended all these replacements to be put into the car, and they said that would fix the problem. But the car is still doing the same thing and now they’re saying it’s a different problem. They’re gonna charge again instead of guaranteeing the work.

They had my cell# from on the online appointment and yes my number is in the Mavis computer as I have been long time customer. No more. Second time they have done wrong by me. They do not care about the customer.
I called for a status at about 3pm. They told me that the tires were on order and would not be there until the next day. STRANGE as the online order said IN STOCK!! Well the really smug guy on the phone PEPE (I think his name was) said "it's like when you order from Amazon and the item does not come on time". Wow really? He said, "We tried to call other shops and get tires on time but couldn't." He then asked, "How would you like me to make this better?" I said this is really bad customer service. He said, "Well I am sorry. I told your wife she could come and get the car." Ok now let's make matters worse.
There were 2 "original" worn tires on the rear and 2 newer tires on the front. So to boot, Mavis removed all 4 tires without having the new tires in stock. WHY? Who knows. My wife picked up the car at 5:30. I got home later and check the tires. They put the worn (older) tires on the front and rear driver side and the good tires on the passenger side. How do I know this you ask? The original tires were Yokohoma (reminder which I have 2) and the other 2 Hankook (yes by Mavis). Sad part is I have 2 other cars with Hankook tires. (Mavis can check their computers.) Anyway what a scam this company is pulling in today's online world.
If you ask me go somewhere else and use mavis quote to match. They were nasty and made it as if it was my fault! Again I let the first experience in Haverstraw NY slip. But now I am done. I bought tires from Mavis last year. I discovered that I had flat tire this afternoon and filled it so that I could make to Mavis safely. I arrived about 3:30. They told me that they couldn't help me because they were too busy with appointments. These appointments were all new tire purchases. That said, they were okay with me leaving, without addressing the flat tire and with an increased probability that something would happen as a result. I guess that they were too concerned about new sales, than honoring the road hazard protection promise (that I purchased).
To boot, this is the second time that this has happened. I had a flat tire this summer and Mavis was too busy then too. I had to take to the dealership and pay for the repair. You just lost a customer, Mavis! And you will likely provide the same poor service to the people who buy tires and road hazard protection because you're too busy to honor your promises once the sale has been made. Back to the dealership, I go, with the expectation that I will have to pay more money. Shameful.

My experience was the difference between $533 and $615. Online does adequately warn that tax is not included. But the overall Lawrenceville, Ga. Purchased 4 tires, made appt thru 800 # to have them installed. Arrived at appt time and told at garage it was strictly walk ins and the 800# was incorrect. So I waited a long time. I had it inspected Thinking it would not pass as my brakes did not feel right. It passed. Also a alignment was recommended since I had all new tires installed. So they performed it and when I asked to see the printout was told there was no paper in machine so don't know if it was done or even needed. I asked prior to tire Installation that they keep the best old tire for me to use as a spare. So after all was done I got in my car and no tire was there. Went back in and they put a tire in a bag and put it in car for me. Got home put tire in basement.
A week later I went to move it to shed and noticed it looked like a brand new tire. Checked it out, it was not my tire, the wrong size. Looked closer and it had a hole in it. They threw me a tire that was not mine and had a hole in it and did not even fit my vehicle. I returned it the next time I traveled to Glen's falls and told them about it. 6 weeks later I needed all new brakes. They were all shot. And I traveled only locally. Would not go to Mavis for any service again.

In November 2017 I brought my truck in for an inspection. Mavis Tire called me and said I needed to replace the two gas straps holding the gas tank up for it to pass inspection. I okayed it. I picked it up, and the employees were very adamant how bad the straps were and good thing I had them replaced. Fast forward to September 2019, I was under the truck replacing the Oxygen sensor when I noticed something hanging. It was a gas strap. The original strap. They replaced one strap and left the other old one on. It was completely rusted through and hanging.
I contacted Mavis customer service through email. The store manager called me, and asked to bring it in next week because he was going on vacation and he wanted to deal with me himself. I brought it in the next week, and they saw it was the old strap. I left it for the day. When I picked it up, I didn't receive an explanation, apology, refund, or even a coupon for a dollar off and oil change. So much for making things right. The scary part is, what if I wasn't the type to be under the vehicle. What would have happened? How do we know if the work is getting done? Trust is the issue. No trust now.

CEL (Check engine light) comes on, car had been running rough and jerky, I take it to Mavis and they said it was a cylinder 1 & 2 misfire code. They replace all four coils and spark plugs. I did not authorize any "preventative maintenance" to replace the good cylinders 3 & 4 plugs and coils. I test drive it and it ran worse than before. I bring it right back, Mavis says it could be things other than coils/plugs. So they spray the Mass Air Filter (or something like that) and start switching coils around, they tell me it is done. I test drive it and it ran just as poorly.
I bring it right back, Mavis says it could be that the some of the new coils might be bad. So they order another set of four coils. By now, they have tried 10 or 12 different coils, trying to find/fix the misfire. I ask for my original OEM coils, am told they have them, I get there and they cannot find, but says the counterman knows where they are, I come back next day and…they claimed the old OEM coils got sent back to their vendor when they sent back the four new coils they ordered. I don’t think a vendor would take 4 old, 66,000 miles used coils. They would not look new, nor would they match any of the 2 sets of new coils Mavis ordered from them and tried out. I test drive it and it ran just as poorly.
This time, I took the manager along. It clearly ran terribly and he said "that's your transmission, we fixed your misfire." I pressed him back at the shop and he again said, "tranny." So as far as Mavis was concerned at that point, I had a tranny problem and they fixed the problem, even though the car was running worse after they worked on it.
During the eight days they had it, I came to learn that they do not have the advanced diagnostic tools to do the job. The guy was using a hand-held scanner like the one I have. The counter guy was looking up my error codes up on Google. They even said they were not a full service shop. On day eight I suggest that they should offer me a refund. No luck.
I take it back, drive it a day or two hoping the CEL comes on. It does. I take it to Hyundai. They carefully document and photograph along the way and told me Mavis installed four improper plugs. So all that coil swapping and fiddling was for naught, given it would run poorly with the wrong plugs no matter what. I contact Mavis and suggest I also want Mavis to pay for Hyundai having to undo the work they did - makes sense. No luck.
Hyundai installs 4 proper plugs and informs me that the coils on the car are the old, original OEM coils and that one of them is bad. That explains why Mavis could not hand me my old coils. They were on the car. I was charged for 4 incorrect plugs and 4 new coils which I do not have in my possession. I have it in handwriting that the reason my 4 coils were zip tied together by Mavis is because they damaged the 2500.00 wiring harness while they were playing musical chairs with all the coils. The car runs like a charm now and cost me about 400 at Hyundai, most or all of which Mavis should pay for. Hyundai took HD photographs and documented their repair every step of the way, noting what they found.

I went to two different Mavis Tire locations. The first location is in Chadds Ford PA. I had them change the front tires and put on new Michelins. The mechanic at this location used an air gun to over-torque the lug nuts to well over 150+ foot-pounds of pressure. The required torque is probably around 45 foot-pounds, if I had a flat tire I would have never been able to get the tire off to put on a spare. I found out just how tight they were the next day, me and 2 other 200 pound men couldn't get any of the lug nuts they worked on to budge. I took the car back to the Chadds Ford PA location, explained the issue, they broke 5 of the 10 lug nuts, of which I had 4 replacements with me. They also put the car up in the air with a car lift that was in the wrong place and punctured the left front rocker panel. Because of the overtight condition on the lug nuts the brake rotors became warped. This was the situation at the Chadds Ford location.
The second location is in Newark DE. The manager of this store was the manager at Chadds Ford when I got the bad work done there. Fast forward two years later to 2019 and now that guy is running the Newark DE store. The bad manager sorta remembered me and began giving me the run-around. In the end, I ordered 4 tires, but they could only produce 3. Insult to injury: 3-hour wait before the ever disastrous manager announced that his people would be going on lunch, that's when he and I were back at it for the better part of 15 minutes. Just Dumb! I am beyond frustrated and insulted. As we speak my husband's vehicle is at this location. We received a diagnostic yesterday stating a cylinder 3 misfire. An associate who we usually work with (we have been loyal customers of this location since it was Kauffman Tire for the last 5+ years) quoted us the price of changing the one coil and spark plug. We received a call this morning from the manager JOSH (oh boy) saying that we replaced the 6th cylinder coil in March and all of the spark plugs and they recommended if any others went out that we change them all. He said that we signed a "contract" in March agreeing to this and that he absolutely would NOT replace the one cylinder. We were not reminded or informed of this yesterday when we dropped off the vehicle. JOSH proceeded to scream at me on the phone for 12 minutes.
As we went back and forth about what we were told/promised and what JOSH said had to be done, the conversation ended with JOSH saying to me "OH MY GOD MA'AM, WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO PICK UP YOUR TRUCK?" I then asked for his manager's information. I called into the customer service line and left a complaint that was escalated to the regional manager. I let them know that I did not have 700.00 to fix all 8 coils at this time and we were basically trying to patch the issue at least until Friday (payday) and that we would have come back to Mavis as we had always done for the last 5 years. It's my money. If I want to spend more in labor because I don't have 700.00 right now to fix everything then it's my prerogative.
Long story short, 20 minutes later, JOSH called me back, (NEVER APOLOGIZED) and said his regional told him they would replace the one coil. I also spoke to the regional manager on the phone about 10 minutes after that. In my opinion JOSH does not need to be a manager let alone deal with customers. We are allowing them to fix the vehicle since it is already at the shop and we don't want to drive it while it's basically convulsing. I do not think we will be doing business with them again, even though I appreciate the regional manager greatly for his time and HIS apology.

We’ve always gotten a discount on the tire rotations, which we didn’t know it’d be true, and that the $15 was the $15. We went back and spoke to a manager and he rectified it. I had three vehicles. I needed inspection, and I knew I needed the brakes on one, and I knew I needed tires on another. Mavis came new into the neighborhood and I tried them out. The service was very good but one of the three vehicles is still a problem. I have a 2013 Mazda and they did a great job but they messed up one of the hubs when they put on new rotors. So, I went back and they put on another set of brakes, and it still squealed like a pig. I'll probably go back there tomorrow and give them the car for a week, so they can fix it. Mavis had some turnover and so, I talked to the new manager who got a hold of the old manager. Now, it's a matter of when I have the time to drop it there and they're just gonna tear it apart and see what it is.
The first mechanic who did the original brake job is no longer there, which is probably a good idea. Otherwise, Mavis might end up buying me a whole new car because he really messed up the brakes. I don't know what he did since I wasn't there and it is what it is. I talked to the manager and had him go for a little ride with me. I said that it wasn't right and he said that they have to stand behind their work. I pulled the record and I saw everything that was done. He said they gotta make it right, which was all I was asking for. Now, all my other dealings with Mavis have been fine. They took care of the other two vehicles without any problems nor issues. Also, they're always friendly and courteous. The wait is usually too long, but that's with any place you go, even with an appointment, because they get busy and they get behind. I'm a reasonable guy and I can go for all that but there's one issue they have to take care of.
Anybody could make a mistake but when they're professional and they live up to it, then I'm okay. It might be an inconvenience, but that's all it is. Life's too short not to forgive and not to move forward, and that's what we’re doing. They get kudos for that. They're not making excuses. They tried to fix it although they didn't the last time, but they'll get it straightened up this time. Overall, the experience has been very good and their pricing is reasonable. Also, a big plus to me was that no matter what it was, they would listen to your point of view. If they didn't agree with something, they would come back and say not just a no but what they thought or what they were seeing. Plus, they were very good about explaining.

I've been going to Mavis Discount Tires for 15 years for about everything from oil changes to tires. I enjoy going there. They're always very cooperative and the sales rep is wonderful, patient and so calm in the face of stress. When I hit a rock and my wheel got dented, I went to Mavis and they helped me with that. I recommend them. In fact, I told my daughter, who lives in Rochester, to go to Mavis. I told her that they're always fair for an inspection but she came out crying her eyes out. It was gonna cost her over $2,000 there to get her car inspected. She ended up taking it to a local gas station that somebody else recommended and it was under $200. That was awful. So now, she will not go to Mavis even though I still go.

I have bought several sets of tires from Mavis. I blew a $150 no-flat out in the country. I brought just the tire rim back to Mavis 'cause they didn’t have the tire that fit my car. But they sold me a pair, telling me that if I had put miles on it, they’d take it back and give me my money back. That was a total lie. I went back in Monday to get my other tire but the rep said they couldn't get me the money back until the manager arrived. As soon as the manager got there, he said they don't take used tires back. So I got hit with a $100 bill on a tire that I put 70 miles in. If the rep had told me that he couldn't do that, I would have just gotten one of my snow tires on and got the car home. It was an incredible rip-off. I'm never going there again.

This time it took less than an hour.
I would like to have something done about this. They shouldn't run a business on labor from the receipt before. I also reached out to the regional training manager at Mavis Discount tire corporate headquarters in Millwood, Ny to resolve this problem and he stated that they have the right to charge the same as what the book says. I had brought my vehicle in for service and they told me that I needed a part and so I had the part put in. Then they called me and they said when they were bringing my car into the shop, the brake lines went. So, I needed two brake lines. I agreed to that. It was upward of $1,000. The car didn’t and never ran right after I picked it up. So, I brought it back and I said, “I thought I had bad gas. Can you take a look at it?” He said it needed $2,000 of work onto it. At that point, I said, “Forget it.”
I picked it up and I took it down to a mechanic that I knew and none of the brake lines had been replaced. I was so disappointed because I really like that Mavis Tire and I really thought that manager was really good. I liked him, and he was always upfront and fair. I was shocked. So, needless to say, I had to buy a new car and I ended up selling that as is. I've used Mavis for three years. Up until the last visit, I was always very satisfied and very confident. I drove directly to a BMW dealer only to find a damaged, leaking caliper courtesy of the Mavis Tire mechanics, who clearly don’t know how to make an otherwise simple repair on the car. I called what I thought was N Dekalb Tire Co in Dekalb County GA not realizing Mavis recently bought them out. There was no sign changes. Anyways I called to get a quote on a set of tires and a front brake job. The salesman quoted me Goodyear tires and brakes. I agreed to the quoted price and brought my 2017 Rav 4 in for the work. After a couple of hours I called the shop and the salesman said they could only find 3 of the Goodyear tires. I was surprised that such a popular tire size was unavailable in Metro Atlanta with a population of 6 plus million people. He said they did have Hankook tires, which the salesman said were rated higher than the Goodyear. I believed him since I have have shopped at this store for many years.
When I did further research I found out the Hankook tires are not even close to the same quality as the Goodyear tires. I also noticed the Mavis name on the Hankook tires. I now realized I was baited and switched. A common despicable practice that is unlawful. About the brakes: I was quoted $89 for a front brake job. When I called the store the salesman said Mavis removed the rotor turning machine and they don’t turn rotors. He then tried to sell me new rotors. What type of car repair shop that does brakes does not turn rotors? Unfortunately, I really needed the car so I agreed to the new rotors.
The most troubling aspect of this ordeal was the shop did not call me to say they didn’t have the tires I agreed to nor did they say they don’t turn rotors. Another bait and switch. I should have just went and picked up my car and taken it to another shop. I have never felt so “hood winked” in my entire life. Had I known that Mavis took over this shop I would have not gone there due to very low ratings in our area. There was absolutely no signage anywhere with the Mavis name on it. The only signage was for the former shop. It would be very easy to have temporary sign alerting the customer the store was under Mavis management.

Tires are one of the most common 'commodities' for sale through third parties - the only value the retailer can provide is service and professional installation. Since Mavis Tire purchased Kauffman Tire the service has dropped to such poor levels I'm amazed they are still in business. After two separate experiences at two different Mavis locations we will NEVER take any of our vehicles back to Mavis Tire. Why can't they just emulate the great service offered by Kauffman Tire - we valued their service standards for many years. In May 2019, I had to replace the tire at another facility closer to where I lived, because it was worn out already. Before I had it replaced, I called Mavis Tires to ask for a warranty tire (or prorated, since it was less than 6 months old). I was told, "Sorry Ma'am, no warranty on the tires you bought." Considering I was never told this when I purchased, and also spent close to 1k with my husband getting new tires on this Ram 3500, I consider this appalling. Are they saying that it's typical for a tire to last less than 5 months? They also never reset my low tire pressure light also. I will be bringing this to the attention of corporate. I have been a Mavis customer for over 20 years and have been generally happy with their service. This has now changed. My tale of woe: The TPMS light kept coming on every few weeks, and after filling up with air, it immediately went out. I brought my car (a 2013 Toyota Prius model 3) into the Lawrence, NY location (facility # 7098624) on 8 June 2019 to have the tire checked for a leak and repaired. I was told that my TPMS was leaking around the stem and I needed an entirely new unit because the washer could not be replaced. I have since found out this to be false. I confirmed with the manager that Mavis would re-program the TPMS. After having Mavis replace the TPMS, the TPMS light remained on and I was told that it could take a day for it to turn off. Experience has shown that when I have filled a tire up in the past the light extinguishes within a minute.
I bought the car back the next day with the light still on and was told it was never programmed. The TPMS system was re-programmed by Mavis, and the light went out, only to come back on within a week. I brought it back, it was reprogrammed, the light extinguished only to come back on within 2 days. I brought it back and was told it went back on because the tire pressure was low, Mavis filled the tire and the TPMS light stayed off for a day. Remember, I originally brought the car in because I suspected a leak in the tire.
On 25 June 2019, when I got to my car at 4 AM to go to work, the tire was completely flat. Fortunately, I have an electric air pump and re-inflated the tire, drove an hour and 40 miles to work. I checked on the tire around noon and it was totally flat again. I called roadside assistance to install the spare, only to find out that the lug nut lock I was given back by Mavis was not mine, did not fit my lug nut lock and so the wheel could not be removed. Roadside assistance was able to plug the tire while on the car, which cost $30. As he rotated the tire to find the leak, it was obvious that something was inside the tire, banging around.
I returned to Mavis on 29 June and was told by the manager on duty (Travis) that he was only there temporarily, there was nothing he could do, and I needed to get in touch with corporate. When he tried to pull up my customer record, he could not find it. The previous manager put in my plate as a dealer plate, without a number. He also misspelled my name and put in the incorrect model number of my car (it is a 3, not a 5). This is the information from the invoice: Work Order # **, Invoice # **, cash sale (even though it was a credit card sale), $124.90.
I have been in touch with the local Toyota dealer, who has a master key and can replace my wheel locks at a cost of around $120 for parts, labor and tax. I have called Mavis customer service to report this fiasco (ticket # 375934) and was told I would get a call back 2 July “at the latest”. Naturally, in keeping with Mavis’ fine customer service, I never got a call back.
This is what I expect from Mavis: Refund of $123.90 for an unnecessary part and programming. Payment of $120 for parts, labor and tax for Toyota to replace my wheel locks because you lost my key. Payment of $30 for the fixing of the leaking tire while on my car (which Mavis neglected to fix in the first place). No charge to me for removal of the tire from the wheel to remove whatever is inside, re-balance and replace on car. Total payment due me: $173.90.

They said they had none, so I bought all season radials. I returned to the shop in January because again the car was swerving (fishtailing). They said the tires needed to be replaced. They blamed the wear on the shocks and sold me two new tires.
In April they inspected my car and replaced 2 tires. On April 30th I realized the rear tires were completely bald. When I called the regional manager he offered me two tires to replace the rear tires (cheaper tires). They sent me to a different shop to have them installed. The mechanics said there was nothing wrong with the tires, it was my rear end. So, I made an appointment with a body shop. They found that the car needed to be aligned. The very tire that was blown out was still out of alignment. I got it aligned and there has been no uneven or damage to the tires. It has been 1 month and I am watching for excessive wear. I've purchased tires from Mavis in the past. But this last one wasn’t the best experience. My car was there for six days. I came to them with a noise on the right side of my car. The gentleman came out and looked at it. He said that the two side tires on my SUV were all worn. I asked him what would cause that. He said that it could be a couple of things and asked to get it inside so they could look at it. This was at 11:45 on a Wednesday. About an hour later, they figured it was the calipers. I asked them to replace both calipers on the front first and we would put tires on them. Then later on they said they were having trouble bleeding the break lines and they would have to keep it overnight. So, consequently, my wife came and got me. We only live in the next town over.
I called back the next day, Thursday, and they said that they still got problems. Then on Friday, the answer I got was that they thought that they should take it to a dealership and let them look at it because they couldn't bleed the brake lines. I told them to do that and they said that they would pay for it since they made a mistake, there was obviously a problem. The district manager even called me and said that they were gonna make this right for me and take care of it. Also, it was the Memorial Day Weekend and I didn't have a vehicle. They offered to lend me a car, but I told them that I could borrow a car from a friend or family member instead, which we did. Then Sunday comes and nothing, and Monday was the holiday and they weren’t in.
On Tuesday morning, I got a phone call from Mavis asking where we wanted us to tow. They couldn’t get it done. I thought they were gonna talk to the dealership, but the whole answer completely changed. I told them to tow it to the Gillespie Chevrolet. They’ve done work on it before. I also had to go in and pay the bill before they would tow it. The bill was roughly $1,000.
The car didn’t come into Mavis leaking, but they towed it out there leaking and with all the lights on. I called Gillespie and they said they said that they just brought it in and that it was a master cylinder problem. They could try to bleed the brakes but if I didn’t want to, they could blow the seal. The problem was that there was a seal blowing, which was a $400 fix that I paid for. The guy also said that the ABS lights and fog lights were on but it was okay to drive. I drove off for a couple days and I brought it back to Gillespie’s. They said that there was a modular unit, which was basically like a little computer box that would make everything communicate and make sure that all four brakes brake at the same time. The part was $1,000.
I called the 800 number and their rep said that they would look into the complaint. Two days later, the manager from the Albany store called me. I told him that my car left their garage with all the brake lights on, the seat belt and trunk lights on, the ABS lights on, and leaking. I paid Mavis money, paid Chevrolet roughly $1,500, and I had to rent a car when my car was there. The manager offered a $100 gift card and said that it was the best that he could do. They should've taken care of this bill from Gillespie. So I told him that I would see them in court because that was where this would be heading. I’ve sat with my attorney and gave him all this stuff.

I purchased a set of General HTS Grabber Tires on May 4, 2019. I was quoted three different prices by the location, their call center and online. When I went for the install the price was substantially higher than what I was quoted. They were able to chop down the price (conveniently....) I declined the extended warranty because I have never had an issue with tires in the past. I reported this to the BBB and was informed I would receive a response for their regional manager, I never did.
It has been a month since I purchased the tires and I have a bubble on the sidewall of my passenger side front. I contacted the location to inform them of the issue, and they immediately said that because I didn't purchase the warranty I would have to pay out of pocket. Regardless of that fact, the tires are a month old, I did not hit any severe bumps or potholes, so it has to be a factory defect.
Being unsatisfied with this response, I contacted the corporate office. They were very kind and informed me I should go during the week to have this taken care of (the warranty department only works M-F). The woman I spoke with contacted the location I chose to have this checked out, told me to go the next day to have the tire inspected for the cause of the damage, and to have the tire replaced. I contacted the location via the # listed on the website (a call center, not the actual store, apparently...) and they told me I was all set.
I drove 2 hours in rush hour traffic to get to this location for my appointment to find out 1) I wasn't in the system at all and 2) They did not have that tire in stock and it had to be special ordered. At this point I was ready to lose my mind, but it wasn't the store manager's fault because I never spoke to him directly. He’s in my neighborhood and he is fantastic. You don't have to wait long and if you arrive an hour late, one of the service people would call you and say that your car is ready. They’re very cordial and nice. The whole staff is excellent. Two weeks ago, I took my car there for inspection for a new tire because the air symbol came on. They put some air in it and the symbol went away.

I called on Friday afternoon and was told they had my size/brand of tires. I was only purchasing 2 tires for the back. I said I would be there on Monday and was told that would be great and I did not need an appointment. When I arrived I was told it would be about an hour because they were short handed. I said ok and I would wait since I had no way to go anywhere. My husband, who is legally blind, was with me. We went back in the waiting room and sit down to wait. I noticed about an hour later I had missed a call. I called it back and it was man out front asking where I was because he didn't know what brand. Why did he call when I said I would not be going anywhere? Where did he think I went? He said he was getting it shortly cause I was next in line.
We continued to wait. After another hour I went and asked how much longer because it has been 2 hours. After 3 hours of waiting I went back and my car was still sitting where I parked and had not been moved. I told him I wanted the keys and I was leaving. Three hours of my time was enough. There was another gentleman there at this time and he said he would go install them his self if I would give them another chance. I agreed and let him. He was very nice and seemed sincere and he got right on it. He was wearing a white shirt so I think maybe he was the manager.
Finally after 4 hours we left but Richard did give me a discount and popped the hood and TOPPED off the washer fluid, antifreeze, and oil at no charge. I don't know if I will go back again or not. Mavis had just bought out the previous owners. Don't know what happened to all their employees but I know one they need to do something with. If he wasn't answering the phone he had his note pad running outside like he was checking on something trying to look like he was so busy.

I have five cars and I am a long time customer of Mavis and STS in Ramsey New Jersey. I am shocked at what just happened to me today at the Route 17 Ramsey NJ Mavis. I brought my 2009 Acura MDX in for a wheel alignment and when I picked it up I asked for the spec print out to see where the car was adjusted. I was told that the shop doesn't have a printer. Then I asked if he applied the $10.00 promotion to the price. He rang up on the register. He told me that the $10.00 promotion was only good if I had purchased tires in addition to the wheel alignment service.
I called Mavis customer service when I got home and was told the promotion was for the wheel alignment service and had nothing to do with tires. The manager LIED to me and now I am not confident that the work was completed. I have never had a problem with this location however I would be suspect about ANYTHING this manager says. He clearly is not customer friendly! Good LUCK. I will never use this shop again!

At 9:35 the manager (?) spoke w/ the woman then came over to tell me they had only 2 of 4 tires and that there is a courier coming from Atlanta with the other 2. They should arrive around 10:30. I left with my vehicle and would come back when the other two arrived. At 11:45 I got a call that they did not come in. We arranged for Monday.
Monday at 10:30A I called to make sure what was going to play out. The woman called and had no clue what I was talking about. It was finally understood. Was called around lunch....no tires. I asked to be called on Tuesday and she reassured me she would. Today is Wednesday, May 15th, 11AM E. Still no call. I guess it is safe to say Mavis does not want to sell me tires. That's ok. When I returned to the store the manager did not apologize for my inconvenience of having to return to the store and wait while four tires were dismounted, had new stems installed, then remounted and balanced. Today while doing a brake job on my car I noticed there was something rolling around inside one of the tires. I called the store and a technician put me on hold while get got the service manager. My son got his car inspected there in March 2019. He needed to have his brakes repaired as well as a few other items. May 12, 2019, his wheel fell off while driving - found 1 lug nut on road, one was sheared off, others totally missing. Tow truck driver said, "This should not have happened" and indicated that if the lug nuts were properly on the tire, it would not have happened. On the bill from the inspection, at the bottom, in red - it indicates that you have to bring the car back within 25 miles to check the lug nuts. In our 30+years of driving, we have NEVER heard that after brake work or inspection, you have to take it back. If they would put it on properly, and do the work properly, you wouldn't have to cover your butt with this. Apparently, this must happen often. STAY away from Mavis. Went for brake services in Feb 2019 and after leaving my brakes continued to squeak. I went back and was told that my brakes needed more lubrication so I got that done. Even with the extra lubrication, my brakes continued to squeak and I went back and was told that the brake pads they installed were a cheaper quality and that could be the cause of them squeaking so I upgraded to better quality brake pads and my brakes squeaked more than before. So today I went back to Mavis Tires in Northport and before I was able to receive help there was a man before me that was upset because he had been waiting for 3 hours to get 4 tires on his Honda and the servicewoman was completely rude and nasty to him and when he was walking back to the waiting area she rolled her eyes at him.
I immediately asked for Scott the manager because he was the man who had helped me the two previous times before and based on the service woman's attitude she would be no help whatsoever. When I spoke to him I demanded a refund because clearly they do not know what they are doing and my brakes should not be squeaking whatsoever.
Scott the manager chuckled when I asked for a refund and said that he would not give me one and insisted that there must be something else wrong with my car if it is still squeaking. But there is nothing wrong with my car but the service they provided. He asked me to leave my car overnight or on Monday but I refused because they do not know how to work on a car and I refuse for them to do any more work on my car and mess it up more. Updated on 05/04/2019: Don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle or it will be gone when you return. I reported the theft of credit cards from my glove compartment to the police but all employees denied it. After a thorough investigation nothing was resolved. By the way, my glove box was locked when I brought the car in for service.
Original: I purchased two tires and had them mounted while I waited. I also got the standard sales pitch that my struts were leaking and needed to be replaced for around $800.00. Needless to say I did not fall for their pitch however while I was back in the waiting room, they went through my locked glove box and stole $1800.00 worth of gift cards that I was keeping here. My fault for thinking they would be safe in my locked glove box.
Unfortunately the key was with my ignition key on my key ring in the ignition. I did not know they were missing for over a week and when I went to get them, they were gone. Nobody else uses my car and I left it no place other than my garage over the next week. No use going back to the tire store where they were stolen because I have no proof. I have filed a police report with the police in the town where the store is located, Whitehall, PA and they will investigate. I'm hoping there may have been surveillance cameras working at the time my vehicle was being worked on.

I even put a copy of the order in the US POST OFFICE to ROB in Yonkers as well. The tires we ordered were not in the shop when my son arrived. Not only that but the alternative model tires were not available upon arrival despite the lead time we gave directly to the MANAGER.
The icing on the cake came when my son presented the $600 gift certificate I had purchased directly from Mavis it was REFUSED AS PAYMENT. Now we have installed tires and have to scramble to find alternative means to pay for this? At this moment, besides from the incredible disorganization of Mavis at this Yonkers location, I am out $600 for a Gift Card for Mavis I had purchased. I am extremely unsatisfied with the service I have received at Mavis discount tires in Jackson New Jersey. I took in my 2007 Subaru Impreza to Mavis because the location is very close to my residence and my heat was working on and off. It would blow cool and sometimes hot air and then when I was driving to work I noticed my thermostat went all the way up to the H so it was starting to overheat. I had basically no coolant left in my car so we added coolant to it. I drove it to Mavis and they told me that I needed a whole new radiator because they couldn’t get the cap back on so it must’ve been leaking from the cap so I paid $600 for a new radiator.
When they were finished with my car I picked it up and then later on that da. To my surprise while I was driving it my check engine light came on and this is the first time My check engine light has ever come on since I’ve owned the car for the past 10 years. I took the car back the following morning and they told me it could be either the head gasket or I might just need a tuneup and new coils because cylinder three was misfiring. The mechanic said well if it is the head gasket then I might as well just start looking for another car. I said, "Well check and make sure it’s not the head gasket because if it is the head gasket then there’s no point of me getting the tuneup and the coils replaced". So he tested it and advised me it was not the head gasket so I went ahead with the service which cost me another $540.
Well two of the three days later my check engine light comes back on again and on top of that my car is still running HOT on and off so I paid over $1100 and I still have the same exact issues I had before I brought the car in. So now he’s telling me it probably is the head gasket and I said, "Well then I need my money back because you told me wasn’t a head gasket" and they said they can’t give me my money back. They have to contact the regional manager first and then regional manager would get back to me. Well it’s been three days now and no one has gotten back to me. So now not only am I out $1100 but I have a car that doesn’t work!!!

I had my vehicle towed to the Basking Ridge, NJ location with a small puncture hole. Upon driving my car home about 5 miles away I noticed the tire pressure light illuminated. I wasn't overly alarmed I figured it would reset, fast forward to the next morning: The light is still illuminated and when I drive it on the highway the DSC light illuminates (dynamic stability control) and my vehicle starts to decelerate. I basically have no control. I call Mavis and tell them my issue and was told by Allan to bring my vehicle in.
After reading a bit more information I find out that the cause of the DSC light is because thinks I am in an off-road situation and it cuts off power to the engine and the car doesn't accelerate i.e.: unsafe to drive! I call the Mavis location express my concern they suggest that I have my car towed to a different location. I oblige only for them to tell me that they are getting a code for the rear left tire. That is the tire that they replaced! Might I add no lights were illuminated prior to me towing my car there yet they tell me they are not responsible.
I then refer back to a conversation and my receipt saying that my car was fine upon them getting it. I then say to the manager Derrick, "You guys are a professional business correct?" He assures me that they are so I then say well if these lights were illuminated at the time I brought my car to you wouldn't you have told me as a customer? We all know the answer to that question is yes because they would have wanted me to have it repaired there. Well that question stumped Derrick because the light were in fact not on before they worked on it. Derrick then told me he would speak to the district manager.
After 3 hours and me calling the district manager Shayne ** I hadn't received a call back. I then called Mr. ** again and he was well aware of my complaint but hadn't returned my call. Mavis and myself all agree that the rear left wheel is what's causing this issue but they refuse to take ownership of it, they would like me to believe that this is coincidence that the tire that they changed is also the same tire that's going the error message. Now, here we are one hour and 45 minutes before closing time and I still have not heard back from anyone at Mavis. Shame on Mavis Tire! I will be contacting the BBB and perhaps an attorney.

Our recent oil change experience was an awful with Mavis, Norristown Branch, PA. The oil change took 4 hours, in spite of appointment. After the oil change, when I took for a drive, we noticed the check engine light flashed in the dashboard. We took it back to Mavis Tires, the person in the desk connected some meter to diagnose. He said he couldn't identify the problem. He reset the dashboard setting to remove the check engine light, if it came again, to contact him. In a mile drive it came back, we called Mavis, Mavis was generous enough to run the diagnostic tool with a discount (because the issue was because of their oil change).
We already lost hope on these guys, we took to the Chevy certified service center with an appointment, and issue was resolved in 30 minutes with the cost of 60 dollars + tax. The reason for the check engine light was because of the not closing the engine oil cap properly and hence that created a vacuum. We went back to Mavis (this is the third time), now the person in the desk said he can't handle this, only his manager can. We should come on some other day as the manager was out of station. We asked him to call us once he is back. The Manager will be busy and he may not call was the answer we got from the gentlemen. I only go here for tires when I get a flat. I have a premium Ford warranty on my vehicle. I last minute stopped in for brakes in a Sunday when it was only day I’d have time. I drive away with a grinding howling feel and sound. I went back and was told it will adjust in a week or two. I’m 41 and have owned many cars and know this wasn’t normal. Finally I go back and they hear and feel it too. They replace the brake pads they just installed and said they were defective. The sound etc was still there. I went back next day and they replaced the new routers they had just out in and said they were also defective. So I was sent away the first time and had to go back two more times that month after driving my kids around with defective brakes.
Now I was also told I needed new bushings and tie rod and was quoted $800. When I got there I was then told I needed new struts too. All together over $1000-$1500 or so work. (Now I’ve notice other reviews here are also saying they were told they needed new struts or other work that wasn’t needed). So I take to my friend's shop to check out. He confirms I do NOT need new struts or bushings but I should have tie rod ends replaced looked at. So I take it to local Ford dealer as I have a premium extended warranty with $100 deductible. I asked them to check front suspension. Struts and bushing again just be sure. Ford also confirmed that I did NOT need struts or bushings. I did need tie rod ends. Then it was found a new steering rack and sway bar links were needed.
I send Mavis a FB message and called the number they gave me and reported it. Their regional manager tried to reach me but we played phone tag. During this time, the other I car I took for an oil change misfired (front two cylinders closest to oil). My usual mechanic said whoever did the last oil changed drop oil on oil valve and it seeped in and onto coils resulting into oil fouling, which In turn caused the car to misfire. I replaced the spark plugs and coils.
I then spoke with the regional jerk manager who right off the bat was more concerned with correcting a statement I made about not needing new struts than focusing on the fact that it was confirmed by not one but two other automotive garages that I didn’t need the work done that Mavis said did. One was the Ford dealer. I then moved onto the oil issue to which he told me is not true and oil fouling can’t happen to coils and if it’s true and I had friends who were mechanics ... Insult insult insult... I said, "Well since you’re being rude and ignorant I can see this isn’t going anywhere and you're of no help" and hung up.
I called the Customer service line and filed a third complaint now about the regional manager. I was told I can elevate my complaint to the Director but no restitutions would be for the sparks plugs and coils that needed replacing due to oil spilling. First of all I isn’t ask for anything free. I want them to take responsibility for false quotes and tells their branch to be more careful and to report the defective brake pads and routers I had installed and was told to go home and drive around with for a month.
I regret the original survey I replied to giving good feedback about the nice kid who worked there because that’s about they have going for them. I’m glad I trusted my instinct and wasn’t the scared blonde haired woman they thought I was and took my car for not only but two other opinions before dropping that kind of money with this company. Also, I just found out my parents' friends knew two people who quit this place because the changing of hands from STS tires to Mavis tires was dissatisfying and they didn’t want to work for the company Any longer. As well as a man who came to work at my department who had previously been employed for 20 years with STS. That says something in itself that locally three different people have quit working for this company for reasons like I’m reporting as well as their own.

I come in 3 days later to get it fixed and after an hour wait, they tell me after taking the tires off that they can't do the job tonight because they don't have the parts. Why the heck did they tell me to come in and waste my time. I talk to the manager Tom ** and he tells me sorry and come in next week anytime and he will have the parts and will get it done. I tell him I will come in next Tuesday, at 5.15 pm to get it done. He says sorry again.
I call on early on Tuesday and have to cancel due to an ice storm and reschedule for the next day on Wed at 5.15 pm. I come in and they said I never talked to anyone there but it was the call center. The person at the call center said I was talking to the staff located at the Geneseo store so I thought I was talking to the actual store. Very misleading and disconnect. Today on Wed when I came into Mavis at Geneseo for my appt. the staff Hanna was very inconsiderate and bothered by me that I came in and said I had an appt. today to get my car fixed for brakes and rotors. She said she couldn't do this and they did not have enough time to do it. Ridiculous!!! This place sucks. Poor customer service and they lied about how they can help.
The manager said it was no problem to get me in and I could get it fixed any time. Clearly a lie because his other staff clearly did not think they could do it. I even told the manager previously that I can go anywhere to get this done so I expect better service. Well, unfortunately I did not get better service but more excuses. No compensation or any good customer service to keep me as a customer. So I went to Monroe and they took good care of me. It would be great if they, Mavis, actually contacted me to earn my business but I know they do not care. When you think car maintenance do not think Mavis. Very disappointed. What a waste of time.

A few of the staff where I work recommended the Mavis shop in the town where we were ok rked, saying they were a nice shop to deal with. Since they were open on a Sunday, it made it convenient, plus it was a day I was able to have someone drive me to work and back for my car. I also figured a muffler is a basic repair or replacement, that I didn't not require the dealership to do the work, of which my quote of $460 was rebuffed by me.
TALK ABOUT PRICE GOUGING!! Mavis quoted me $550.00! Because I am female? I rebuffed them and a $125 discount was offered. Still know in I was being overcharged, I did it because my inspection is due this same month and had no foreseeable opportunity to get help with my transportation. Being highly annoyed by my transaction, I used my lunch to see if I could find an average price for the same work online. I found from multiple auto repair Q & A sites that I was being charged at least $100 over the high end price for my 2011 Honda Civic.
Isn't price gouging illegal? Isn't unfair practices like trying to overcharge a woman because they believe they don't know better? Were I not in a situation where I needed to take advantage of the convenience I presently had available, I would have picked up my car and left knowing I was being overcharged even with the discount. But to find they were overcharging me more than $200 with their original quote to start with is obscene. I am telling, or reporting this to every entity and person I find available to me. And people say the dealerships are crooks?! I stated all this at their shop. What a line of garbage the service representative tried to make me believe! And they claim I did get Honda certified parts. Somehow I doubt it. Nice to know I apparently have money to spare and didn't need to borrow some of it to get this work done. Never again.

2 trip to Mavis, several hours wasted that I will never get back. First trip they left off the oil filler cap. Blew oil all over the engine compartment. New truck. Nice stain on drive. Took it to a different Mavis. They made good on the cap and changed the oil and filter. Few days later I see a new oil stain in the drive way. Took it to another auto place for them to look over. The Gasket on the oil filter got crimped cross-threaded upon installation and was blowing oil. So, several hours of my life I'll never get back, 2 oil stains to clean and an engine compartment covered in oil. I'll have to pay to have all that cleaned from their lack of quality control. I'd be stupid to keep doing business with these guys.

Came in with a leaking break hose (poor breaks). After 5 hour wait I received the car back with a new break line that wasn't installed properly. It was hanging down. The mechanic informed me that I needed new rear brakes. When I pulled out of the lot the brake pedal went halfway to the floor. I went to another service station the next day. The mechanic showed me the improper installation. He had to bleed the air from the lines. Also the Mavis mechanic stripped all the studs on the right rear wheel. They had to be replaced. Needless to say I will never do business at Mavis.

I found that their "service advisor," a fellow named Steve, in the Rt. 211, Middletown, NY store, to be dishonest. Steve either lied or was misinformed about the warranty on the tires I had previously purchased at Mavis (STS), although he didn't investigate before telling me the issue was not covered. He knowingly lied in the presence of, and complicit with, a manager about the specifications of the tires I had installed and the brand of the shocks and struts they installed. My attempts to inform the corporate office of his deceptiveness were unsuccessful, as no one bothered to call me back. They took over 5 hours to install tires, struts, and shocks. The struts were not adequately tightened and I had to have that done after having driven to Florida. They are not trustworthy and customers should consider how much money and effort they want to expend trying to get truthful advice and accurate documentation.

I have used Tire Town now Mavis Tire, in Myrtle Beach, SC. 29588 for years at this location. The workers have always been very courteous to everyone who walks through the door of the establishment. They have the unusual QUALITY nowadays of BEING ETHICAL, and will not perform needless repairs on your vehicle unless it is actually needed. While there, I listened to the man behind the counter as he talked to other customers.
One man, He counseled to return to his dealership to have a certain repair done because it was still under warranty and it would cost him LESS. Another customer was treated just as valuable and respectfully. As for me, He told me that my brakes & tires were fine, just some brake dust making the noise and tires just needed some air. The mechanic who looked at my vehicle was also just as nice. This is a good shop!!! These are honest people who hold ethics in a high place. They have earned the respect of their customers.

After the auto shop I took my car to sold and became horrible and pushy, I needed to find a new mechanic. I passed by Advanced (now Mavis) while out doing errands and have them a try for an oil change and fluid inspection. They were wonderful, friendly and timely. I received a quote for tires, which I need, and the estimate was reasonable. I look forward to building a relationship with this group. Hoping it's a lasting one.

Dec 2018, had the wheels on my Toyota Sienna minivan balanced at Mavis Discount Tires in Pawling, NY. Next day, I'm cruising 75 mph down Rt 95 when I hear a sound, getting louder, seemingly from the front wheel well. I pull over to find 3 lug nuts on one wheel loose to the point of falling off, and 2 lug nuts on another wheel about to fall off. Tightened them and was on my way, but thankful that my wheel didn't fly off at highway speed. No one should have to tighten the lug nuts after the mechanic finishes the work.

Mavis Tires is a rip off company. They don't care about customers. They will rob you! I went in for brakes rotors & drums at Mavis in 500 Hillside Ave. New Hyde Park. I spoke to the service manager Nick. I told him what I wanted. He gave me a price of $300.00. I asked him again, “Is that for everything?” He said, “Yes I don't play games.” So I agreed to let him do the job. After the job was done hours later I went to pay the bill and now he gives me a bill for over $700.00. W.t.f. I told him, “You said it was $300.00 for the whole job.”
Now he changes his story and tells me its $300.00 for the front and $300.00 for the rear. This is not what I was told in the beginning. They lie just to get your business then they screw you. I spoke to Samantha who is the rep. I guess after making 6 phone calls she said she will check the recording and get back to me. Another liar! They are in cahoots and lie. Don't let them scam you go elsewhere. They are not ethical business people and only want to rip you off. Don't trust them!!!

Pretty bad when going to Mavis tire in Greenville NY, yesterday afternoon cause I heard a grinding noise coming from my front end of car. After taking all tires off I sat and waited. They called me in and told me I needed front pads, rotors and calipers. He said $600 to do all work. I said no way cant afford that. Then he's like owe you not gonna have it done, I said no. And then he said well I wouldn't drive it, not safe. Then walked me out to front counter trying to get me to fill out credit app for services. I said, "No won't do that." Then he said, "Ok I'll do it for $500." I laughed and said, "No thanks." Then when getting home found out and got that so called $600 needed job done in 20 mins for $100 parts and labor. Didn't need all they said I did. Something needs to be done about these scammers! Please spread the word.

Mavis did oil change on Subaru - was at dealer for another repair and they told me that the wrong oil filter was used and I was leaking oil and that they also did not replace gaskets. Had rotors and pads done front and back - exactly 20,000 miles later the dealer is saying they all need replacing. They cited low grade parts aftermarket parts used by Mavis. Had 4 tires replaced using their brand tire - the car has not Driven the same since. Terrible tires or they didn’t balance and align properly. Never will spend another dime at Mavis.

Our car was having a charging problem, and was making noises that suggested to me the alternator was failing. Since I couldn't be sure the car would make it all the way to our usual repair shop, I figured I should try the local Mavis since it was only a couple miles away. I had thought "hey, it's been almost three years since we last went there, they might have improved." How wrong I was. Dropped the car off first thing in the morning, waited for them to call back with a diagnosis and estimate. Towards the end of the day, I finally had to call *THEM* back, and they said "yes, it's the alternator, we can't fix it." Seriously? A repair shop, and they can't change an alternator? And they can't even be bothered to call us and tell us this? Limped the car to our regular shop, and it was done and ready in half a day.
We had actually stopped going to our local Mavis Tire because of multiple occasions that they showed just how incapable and/or corrupt the place is. For example, some three years back my brother had needed an alignment done on his truck. He had originally gone to the Mavis in Yorktown NY, and he asked for a before-and-after printout to see how much had to be fixed. They said "oh, the printer is broken." Shortly afterward, he found it still wasn't right, so we brought it to the Pawling NY shop.
When he asked for a before-and-after printout from them, wouldn't you know they gave the *exact same* excuse about the printer being broken! What are the chances? Mind you, my brother had been an automotive tech for longer than most of the tech working there, and the service managers *knew* this fact. If they think they can get away with such bald-faced lies with someone they *know* is experienced in the business, just how much more do you think they're scamming the general public?

I made an appointment, came in and was told it will be an hour, maybe more so I left and went to another Mavis and they got me right in only to have to wait over an hour once they got my wheels off my truck. Watched through the window, they mounted one tire then did nothing else until I complained about the wait, at that point they start to work on my truck again. Extremely displeased with Mavis. Will avoid returning in the future and will recommend to go somewhere else. Terrible service and they nickel and dime you with every little thing they can find to charge you more.

Phoned to purchase 4 tires on 11/21/18. Got price, which was good. Confirmed availability. In stock. Told could possibly have next day. Agent made call, confirmed he could have on Friday. Set up appointment for Monday at 10:30. Arrived on Monday on time. Paperwork ready to go. Told about 1 hour until installing. OK with that. Asked if tires were there. Told wouldn't know until up on rack. I insisted on a check, just to be sure, and not waste a 2 hour wait until up on rack.
Agent went back to check. Came back in to wait on other customer. Didn't say anything about my tires. Went back out. Came back in. Didn't say a word. I said "what about my tires?". Then told they are not there and not available. I went ballistic. Why was I told they were available? Why wasn't I informed Friday they didn't come in Friday? Why wasn't I told on Monday? To compound this the agent was definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, as they say. Interaction with other customers was ridiculous. I will never deal with these morons again.

I have been a loyal customer of Griffin Brothers Tire and Auto in Concord, NC for several years. Recently, I noticed that the name had changed and it is now Mavis Discount Tire. I was hoping that the same people would be working there so, I made an appointment for an oil change. I took my car in on Friday 11/13 for an oil change and tire rotation. About 30 minutes after dropping of my car they called and said that I needed new tires and to have my suspension completely replaced front and rear. This was all to the tune of only $1800 (because they were running a sale!).
Initially, I told them to go ahead with the work since the car has almost 100K on the odometer. I called back about 5 minutes later to ask about the warranty on the tires and the guy just says that he will knock another $100 of the price. This made me suspicious so, I told them to just change to oil as planned. Their whole attitude changed at this point and they became very abrupt. I took the car to a local car dealer that I know and trust and had them look at the car. They said that not only was there nothing wrong with my suspension, my tires were not as bad as Mavis said either. Needless to say I will never go back to Mavis Discount Tire again!

I have purchased several sets of tires at Mavis Discount Tires, in August 2017 I purchased two sets of tires for both of our cars. One set was Veerubber Vitrons. At 17,000 miles they are virtually bald, I went to the store located on Genesee Street in Utica, NY in which a technician initially measured and said let me talk to the manager as they are pretty worn. The manager came out and looked at the tires, he said they had a 40,000 mile warranty and that 17,000 miles is almost half life so there is nothing that can do about the wear and tear on the tires. The manager conclude by saying: "You get what you pay for." I can tell you I will not buy another set of tires from them.
