I have had the worst experience with Tesla solar. Since January of 2021 my solar panel has been shut off and been told that they have to change the inverter. Then they give me appointment of a month later and no one comes. I call customer service again, then placed on hold for an hour then they again give me appointment for a month later and same issue. Now it is September 2021 and my solar panel is still shut off. I have had Tesla since 2018. I am regretting getting it. I do not recommend anyone to get Tesla solar panel.

After 8 weeks of contacting Tesla about issues with the Powerwall system not charging during off peak I finally got a hold of a competent, patient powerwall specialist, Stacey **. Stacey stayed on the phone with me, identified and corrected the problem in about an hour. I am now happy with my Powerwalls as they finally work as they are supposed to. Thank you, Stacey.

We contracted with Tesla and they removed our old roof and mostly installed their new solar roof back in February 2021. At that point, they ran into a problem with our utility company (PG&E) with hooking it up, and were told by PG&E that they need to hook it up differently to get approved. They have since abandoned the project. It's now September and no one is returning our calls or emails. They also left a bunch of equipment (over 100 square feet of tools, wiring, etc.) in our garage and driveway. We've had multiple of our primary project contacts leave the company (we find out because their email bounces) so clearly they have an employee retention problem. We are stuck and we can't get anyone to talk to us. Avoid our mistake in working with them.

Finally decided to install solar so I contacted Tesla on Sept 2020. I first spoke to Steven ** and the documents were signed Oct 2020 and he also promised me that the project will be completed on or before Dec 31, 2020. Unfortunately, after they installed the panel on Nov 5, I have not heard from him or tesla for many months so in March 2021 I contacted him again and he told me that he no longer works for that dept and my account was transferred to a different person, Rena **. The project started to move again but it got stalled again. So I again called them to follow up and learn that the new project manager is Giovanni ** which he is not so responsive as well but finally in August 2021 the installation is completed and finally got the permission to operate last day of August 2021 but the system doesn't work - Not producing any POWER.
I contacted service and maintenance at 650.546.8515 and 8404 (almost 2 hour hold by the way) and I was told the only available schedule is Sept 14 of which I did argue to get a better schedule. As of this feedback, I DO NOT have a schedule yet. SOB. What aggravates me more is they keep blaming the city of Vallejo and PGE for the delay. My next-door neighbor who signed up solar from a different company in Feb/March 2021, they are fully operational in April 2021.
While Rena was my project manager, PGE showed up and waited for hours but their installer did not show up so I called Rena and I learned that it was rescheduled - without notifying me and PGE. Another issue is their installer showed up on my front door, with no schedule (sent to me) and we've waited for City Inspector for 4 hours just for us to learn that he is at a different address. I wished I use another solar company. I suggest you do as well. Find another one. I do not recommend Tesla Solar.

Have a 2.2k system which only max output of around 1.7k. I called during spring, rep say probably because of sun angle. Now mid summer still about same output. According to tech rep. It's ok because I'm in range of the system daily output. Only because I get a lot of sun. So they not going check it out even if I have dead panel or it's not hook up.

The technician came by my house to install the solar system and broke a few circuit breakers. I contacted customer service so many time and also the solar advisor, Jade ** about the issue but haven’t heard back since last month. I am very frustrated with the situation that no one is taking responsibility for this. Please have someone contact me and resolve the issue as soon as possible.

I submitted all the paperwork needed and pictures, and paid the order fee, but the installation only happened on March 8, 2021, a full 6 months later. The city inspector came the following week and inspection passed on March 16, 2021. The following day they sent me the invoice (I bought my system in cash). I paid it on the same day, on March 17, 2021.
Tesla took forever to send the final documentation to my utility to request permission to turn on the system and I had dead solar panels on my roof for the entire 2021 summer, despite me constantly calling and emailing them. At some point I got tired of it and contacted the Office of the Attorney General here in Massachusetts who started contacting Tesla on my behalf. Astonishingly, they continued with the delays, and only sent the paperwork to my utility two days ago, on August 26, 2021, ironically 1 full year exactly after I placed the order and paid the order fee. I had a dead, paid-in-full solar panel system on my roof all spring and summer this year. I missed out on the production and now I kick myself for ever having dealt with this company. Do yourself a favor and run from it!

Submitted deposit on 2/26 for solar roof. Was assigned an actual person as agent. Asked them questions such as time frame, expectant loading given our roof orientation, etc. Made repeated attempts via email and phone to contact my agent and get answers. After getting no response, I cancelled my reservation on 4/8. I did get an email confirming my order was cancelled. So, there's that.

The local Tesla PowerWall installation crew did a fast, thorough and painless install today of a single residential PowerWall at my home. They covered every detail including painting the conduit to match the house color per HOA requirements, and were kind and courteous throughout.

We had an issue with our Tesla Powerwalls. Stacey worked with us and was very knowledgeable about the product and our issue. I can not say enough of how wonderful she was and very patient with us. She explained everything to us so we understood. She is definitely an asset to Tesla and will always ask for her. Again, she is a great person, treated us with complete respect and helped us so much.

Tesla Solar team from Livermore came and installed the solar panels and batteries. It was 2 day project and it was the smoothest experience of a team working on a project. The main guy Saul was very friendly and helpful to answer all questions and help wherever needed. He made sure that his team was fast, effective, organized and clean.

Some people may have had a pleasant experience with Tesla. As far as the product goes, and the install team, it has been great. However, my project manager, Miguel **, has been non-responsive, and when finally reached (through another tesla employee) dishonest with me. He sent a rebate offer, which we took advantage of, then after the panels were installed, informed me I did not qualify because they (Tesla) were not able to get my job booked in quarter 1. When I pointed out the rebate offer stated it had to be installed by July 31, mine was installed in May, he simply stated he has worked there for many years and knows what he is talking about and I'm wrong. He wouldn't even allow me to send him my official tesla rebate offer email I had received.
When I asked to talk to a supervisor, he simply stated it's not possible. When I pushed, he said it would be a month before I heard back. Over one month later, no call. They also installed my system in May, it is not pushing September and they still haven't sent my power company the required form for them to come swap our meter so we can use our solar system. However, they were very efficient in sending my bill to the credit company, of which I am not paying monthly payments on a system I can't use. They also cut holes in my garage wall for install and said they would have someone come out to patch the holes. Three months later, still no word on someone coming to finish the job. Maybe it all falls on my project manager. Maybe I got the bad apple. But here I am stuck with an unfinished job of which I am making monthly payments on.

Being a Tesla auto customer, it was my first preference for solar. Their process is smooth. Installation was done on time, very neatly done and with utmost professionalism. They arrived on time, everyone was remarkable in their own area and tremendous expertise. I am really happy.

The company is poorly organized. They have come out 4 times and still not completed the job. My time is to be taken in consideration to take 4 days off to be home and still not complete. The guys came to work are good and sincere but the organization by those at the back end is terrible.

The Connecticut Tesla Energy solar system installation crew (Kyle - crew lead, Matt - electrician, Eric and Scott - crew team) did a great job! They arrived right on time, reviewed the installation plans and process with me. The installed system looks sharp and professional. Hats off to the crew working this job in 90+ degree weather.

4. Apparently Tesla sales have FAR outstripped Tesla's ability to service the installed systems.
Buyer beware--seems like good equipment but virtually nonexistent customer service.

Regardless of the quality of the product, the quality of the service is by far the worst I’ve experienced. Worse than peak (through?) Comcast in the early 2000s. Long wait times with no call back service, zero response from project managers, multiple project managers through the life of my project, none of whom ever seemed to know anything about my project. Tesla was so backwards that they sent an inspector out before the installation was even done. Cannot recommend them at all, even though I went into the process very excited and hopeful.

We had Tesla Energy install a whole solar roof and series of Powerwalls at our family home. It was a big leap of fate, but as soon as the install team arrived it was clear we were in capable hands. Donny and the guys were so diligent and polite, we had multiple neighbors make comments commending their hard work. I would do anything possible to retain a team like that if they were on my payroll.

The entire process and experience with Tesla Energy has been fabulous. The initial online submission for the Solar Roof was painless and there was ample voice and email communication to gather the required information for sizing the system. The turnaround time for the initial design and proposal took a few months and there was quick rework based on feedback from me, then the project manager.
The scheduling of the project was quick and within a couple weeks the crew was onsite with an estimated completion time of 2 weeks. The crew was amazing! They were a delight to work with and to have around as they crafted the intricate Solar Roof. They followed all safety protocols and were extremely careful around the property, keeping everything clean and neat every day. You couldn't ask for a more pleasant group of young men!
The Solar Roof itself is spectacular! It is a stunning look and it is a major attraction in the neighborhood. But more importantly we are already seeing significant offset to our energy utilization, which is easy to monitor with the Tesla app. The entire project was completed in the 2 weeks! We highly recommend the Tesla Solar Roof if you're looking to install a solar system - especially if you're contemplating or need a new roof.

Updated on 08/09/2021: Everyone knows Tesla solar panel and power walls - I agreed that they are fine product but the issue is always with people who are handling them. I am glad that I ordered solar panel and power wall (2ea) and they are working great but panel installation crew did fine job over all with panel installation except one panel’s screw (securing panel to roof) was loose that I was able to lift it with my finger (wow) and not so good with clean up and found two damaged roof tiles - even though they replaced some damaged roof tiles - they still left some damaged tiles as they were and did even bother to let me know. It was verrry shocking experience.
I am sure Tesla will fix that but why can they do better job (installation) by fixing it before customer found the messy and so upset with it and affects customer’s future buying decisions on their products. But I liked the electricians (3 gentlemen ) who did great job - installed power wall and electrical boxes.
Original Review: I really recommend this company for your solar panel and power walls. You must have power walls with solar panel. Crew came on time and completed job within time frame. You cannot go wrong with Tesla.

My wife and I had been considering Solar for some time. The day finally came and we were excited. We were VERY fortunate to have the Falcon Heavy and Dragon Heavy teams doing our installation. These two groups of individuals are as top notch as you can get. They were polite, respectful, and hard-working. Every last one of them! They showed up on time and knocked out our Large Solar installation in TWO days. They made sure to minimize any impact to me and my family and took special care to ensure we were without power for as little time as possible due to our 10 month old being at home at the time. I cannot recommend these two teams highly enough. They made sure that I was happy, that my input was heard, and that all my questions were answered. These two crews are part of what makes Tesla so amazing. I wish I had more experiences like these!

I signed the contract in October 2020 and got the panels installed in July 2021. I still haven't got them turned on. The initial installation date was in May. A crew came with small ladders and had to postpone it. Since then after 4 postponements, my panels got installed. It's been a month and no sign of turning it on. Town inspection failed and I don't see any action from Tesla to resolve it or they are being very slow on it. I recommend do not ever sign up with Tesla energy. I regret signing up with Tesla. They have no sense of customer satisfaction.

Our story of misery begins back in 2020 when we applied for and got our HELOC loan. About September. Straight after we applied for the solar roof. After the registration and house photos and other fairly straightforward steps we were told it would take a few months for approval. Fast forward to March 2021, we finally got approved. Seriously? Onto April, a random bunch of subcontractors turn up to rip off the old roof. They do a horrible job and leave leftover shingles. This is approved by the Tesla "inspector". The following week a load of solar roof tiles were dumped in our driveway and a few days afterwards the Tesla roofing crew shows up. It takes an hour before they inspect the roof and discover the awful job done by the subcontracted roofers. Everything grinds to a halt.
Yet another two months goes by. Glorious May sun we could've been turning to electricity bounces off our plastic temporary roof. A second crew of roofers turns up to fix the strip job which they actually do! Correctly! The roof installation actually took place the next week. Only took about 9 months... We are still waiting for Permission to Operate (PTO) about 3 months later with no date promised on final submission of paperwork.

By far Tesla offers the best value but at the cost of customer service. The process took months. Months with almost no communication. Once Tesla had the permits in place things moved very quickly. The actual installation was completed in one day but with very little attention to detail. Although the garage had a massive attic above it, all wiring was mounted in conduit on the exterior and interior walls. Multiple roof tiles were broken during the installation which will likely be fixed during the final inspection. The "concealed edge" was only applied to one edge, whereas the Tesla website shows the "concealed edge" applied to all side. We are contacting Tesla to have this rectified. The emergency shutoff was not installed straight and level. The system itself is fantastic and easy to use.

The Tesla team showed up to my home on July 23rd 2021 with a full crew of installers. The head electrician went over the entire Solar Panel and Powerwall installation process. He explained that the job would take most of the day to complete and that my power would be out for about four hours. The solar panel team completed installing the panels by 12:45pm, the electrical components including the Powerwalls were completed by 2:30pm. We were without power for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. The Tesla team did an outstanding job, the solar panels & Powerwalls look great, the wire runs with conduit are minimally visible and the system is generating enough power to allow us to be Grid neutral. We're very pleased with our Solar Panel & Powerwall system!

Better coordination needed between local inspectors, PGE, Tesla roof panel crews, and power wall. On site very expert installation, but time between roof installed, power wall installed was at least two months, all because hand off between agencies was not known to each party.

The installers were great. Customer service along the way was very inconsistent. Some gave wrong information and some were wonderful and very helpful. I was told it would be installed by mid May as they wanted to get my area done soon, yet it didn't get installed until July 30th. Many delays on the loan ops team sending documents to the lender which took about 6 weeks. The customer service is very inconsistent overall and needs a major overhaul. My project advisor was unreachable for the past 3 months and I worked with other people. The customer service for solar is not in alignment with my car experience with Tesla.

Tesla installed my 16.32 solar panel. From the point where I placed an order on web to installation it was well coordinated and the team answered all my questions. In have few doubts such as the conduit that run on the roof. Team called me and answer all my questions. They even match the color of the conduit to the roof and my siding. Overall it's great to work with Tesla team.

All members of the Tesla Energy crew were equally knowledgeable of both the products and system setup. The crew’s work ethic was above and beyond, as if it was their own house they were working on. I would highly recommend Tesla if all crews are the same as the one that arrived at my house.

We had installed Tesla Solar panels in 2018 in Nassau, NY which included a 25 year extended warranty coverage from Tesla to monitor and service the unit ensuring that it continues to work properly. But as of JULY 7th 2021, the system stopped working. The monitoring system sent us an email after 6 days of downtime. There is next to nothing in terms of customer service support after installation. The App directed us to initially self-triage the issue using online tutorial and when that failed and we finally got to speak with someone from support team after a week, we were assigned a Case # and were given an appointment for a technician to come by after MORE THAN 2 and half MONTHS LATER on SEP 21ST.
Service team said that there is only 1 technician available for the entire NY -Long island region in Bethpage and as per warranty they are giving the earliest possible appointment after 2 and half month later!!! This is so frustrating. We went with Tesla with understanding that we were going with a reliable company with warranty on the unit. But that has not been the case. The company is making us go in circles with no resolution. The Worst experience I have had ever for customer support, compelling enough to write my first review.

Tesla is a big name in the industry today and that's the only good thing about my experience (apart from the two day install process which was great).
Order Process: It is one of the worst workflow that anyone one can think of. Once you sign in you are taken through a series of questions and then you come to a screen wherein you have to upload a picture of the electricity meter, you go out to the meter, take a picture, upload and click next, the process then asks you for a close up, you go out take the picture, come back to your computer, upload and then it asks you another, this is painful to say the least (the list continues, I think you have to upload close to 10 pictures in total). Why can't you show one page with a small note on the top saying below are the list of picture that you will need, please take all of them when you go out of the house and then a link on each question to upload, simplify the process, makes a huge difference with customer experience. This one is a very easy fix and should not take more than an hour for the developers to make the change, Rating 1/5.
Tesla Service Advisor: If I had to give them a rating it would be way below the min. they have. The person assigned to me was the most unresponsive advisor any company could have, he did not respond to phone calls, text messages or emails. I did give him the benefit of doubt and only started to reach out after a few weeks but then it was like talking to a wall and was almost like Tesla didn't care. I managed to call their helpless desk and had the service advisor changed, the new one was better but the pace at which things move is a shame, you need to have a PLAID version for this process. No point if your car can cover 0-6 in seconds, the install process takes ages. Rating: negative/5.
Install Journey: Believe it or not it took Tesla more than 5 months from start to finish, I am still waiting for the energy company inspection and then get a meter and go live but at least Tesla's job is done. It would be good to have some updates but complete lack is amazing, 5+ months for a suburban home solar panel install, I think tesla probably broke the record for the most delayed solar installation in the world. Please use my example as case study to see what all can be improved. Rating: negative/5.
Silver lining: The only thing I liked was the actual install, those two days when the technicians came to put up the panels, do the electrical work, they were really good and professional, please give them a raise. Rating: 10/5.
It would be great if Tesla acknowledges this and uses my case as scope for improvement rather than a crib review.

When I purchased my home, I was forced to take over the previous owner's contract with Tesla Solar or I couldn't purchase the house. We lost our home in the Northern California wildfires. My family lost everything, including all of the solar panels, in the fire. I was in escrow to sell the land and found out there were four clouds on title from Tesla. After literal days and hours on the phone with Tesla, I found out they are going to charge me $48,000 for termination of contract...even though I had no feasible way to fulfill the contract. This means that My family will lose all the proceeds from the sale of our land. My recommendation would be no never ever deal with such a heartless company. Tesla is more interested in the all mighty dollar than people or helping the planet.

Researched many vendors for Solar panels for about a year and found Tesla solar panels were cheapest. I requested for a system design for 17 panels for my needs and they accepted and installed in a timely manner. Did proper communication on every step throughout the project duration. System was on today morning and still need to see how the panels work as per configuration. But, overall it's a good experience with installation.

Tesla's recommendation, our purchase, and the installation happened with step by step precision. The installers are specialized into powerwall/electrical guys and roof solar panel men. The job was done in 4 days. It was scheduled for 3, but there was rain. Good crew and a good looking job. Can't turn it on until it passes county inspection and then energy company inspection. Tesla is impressive and every employee that I have talked with loves the company.

I was completely amazed with the level of care the Tesla installation team showed when they came to my home to install my solar system. Armand and his Blackbear team out of Orlando were on time and very professional. Every single team member was friendly and very accommodating to my personal schedule and needs. I highly recommend Tesla not only for affordability and quality but for the level of professionalism their team showed.

We finally got our Powerwall batteries installed on Friday and we are stoked! Already we are seeing the benefit of being off the grid at night now that we are storing power during the day. Only downside is that we were on the waitlist for 10 months! Otherwise, 5 stars.

The Tesla products- solar panels and power wall storage are great. Order and install went smoothly and the system ran great during the testing period. However at this point the system was turned off. When I inquired as to timing for the permission to operate (PTO) I was told (for the very first time) that Tesla was way backed up and could not even provide a firm date for when the PTO request would be submitted to PG&E (after which there will be a further PG&E delay). When pressed Tesla will say 60-90 days but this is not a promise. All of this is AFTER full payment for the system and all required paperwork has been filed by me. Tesla indicated they are short handed and have a big backlog but none of this was disclosed at the time I put my order in. Consumers beware. It is shameful that during time of power shortages, blackouts and shut offs due the fire risk that it is Tesla paperwork delays that are preventing more solar power on the grid.

The sale process to the go live with Tesla Solar is horrible, pick another company. Tesla had to submit to the city 4 times to get the permits correct for the install, they took a month each time to correct and one month they did nothing. The install was done in a day which was good. Now they have not told me the truth about getting the utility company to accept the install, it took them almost two months to send the utility company the paperwork to get the install approved, I am still waiting for approval, they lied to me about what was taking so long, they blamed the utility however they did not submit to the utility until I started to hound them about going live. How do I know this, well the utility company sent me the info and date stamps from Tesla.

Before you buy keep this in mind. Your solar panels are producing little power in the summer time. The efficiency has dropped or the panels do not work. Who do you call? Well, nobody. There is no Tesla phone number. Look for yourself if you do not believe me. They have an app that does not work. There is a website for purchasing panels with an email contact. Except they apparently do not answer email questions about needing support. There are no humans working in Tesla. Not even a number with a computer or recorded message to call. There is no customer service or help desk to contact. Run if they ever approach you. Unfortunately, we bought when it was SolarCity and Tesla came and ruined everything. The only thing that remains is the monthly withdraw from our checking account.

Let me tell you how amazing the two teams were. They were always on time, funny, amazing customer service. Not to mention they came back out next day to replace tile they broke. But on other hand upper management and customer Service need a lot of help Dave who is head of one dept is the only manager that I feel is worth being a manager. He is funny, knows how to fix things to make it right and takes ownership of the issues I have been dealt. 5 stars to all of the installers and Dave the manager to making this install I will never forget.

Solar roof was installed about a month ago, but no words when the project will be inspected by the town, obviously I could use the solar energy either. They left the materials on my driveway and after a month, one package is still on my driveway. Message the project manager and support, seems like no one cares to clean up the mess. The Tesla subcontractor, Panda Exteriors, claimed a wider gutter (6") was required in order to pass the inspection and asked extra payments for the gutter, but never come back to finish the job.

I had my 4.08 kw system installed 12/30/2020, they used q.peak duo blk-g6+ 340w with m4-tl-us delta inverter which we later found is not compatible with their system. I was initially pleased with the techs who installed until I later realized the shoes they wore on my roof damaged the granular coating and wore down the tiles around the installation area. On top of that, the techs left holes from the anchors which they later repaired but have yet to repair the roof. In January I noticed that the system seemed to be turning on and off and within a short time the delta inverter started shutting down at 3:15 pm daily in full sun. Perplexed the calling to Tesla continued for months on end with no resolution.
We are now in July of 2021 and the system continues to reboot and shut down. The last tech called Delta and Delta let them know the inverter is not compatible with the system that is installed. Looking up further information the correct inverter would have been the M5 not the M4 which limits the system under 4kw. I have called and emailed more than a dozen times including to their legal department with no answer and no resolve.
I wrote and sent a letter to their board of directors 7/2 and 7/6. The 7/6 included pictures and previous emails. I am at the point I am now looking to get a different system installed where the service is actually upheld. I am in the process of looking at other companies since Tesla (much to my disappointment) is just not there yet. Looking back at Tesla system quotes I noticed that you can no longer buy a system that is without battery back up which increases the price point 10k taking it out of reach of average people like me. I knew at some point I would need a second system installed but hoped that the second would be Tesla which I was wrong. I am surprised by Tesla since I worked for them at one point and they always seemed a reputable company. I went from a Tesla lover to a very concerned consumer after this.
No matter who you decide to use, do yourself a favor and make sure what is being used is truly compatible by calling the inverter company and make sure that the shoes used on your roof are soft sole shoes only. Once the work is complete, do not let them go anywhere until you look for anchor points are sealed after installation (I found out this is a common item after installs). I really wish I could just get help on fixing mine but was told by the tech I would void the warranty if I ask for someone else to fix Tesla's mistake.

Tesla Energy keeps emailing me to schedule maintenance on the solar panels. I have tried to download the app. No success. I can't even download my account. They don't recognize me. I tried replying to their email and no one responds. So I called 877-798-3752, I spoke to a nice lady that had me call this number- ** for servicing. I was on hold over an hour and disconnected. I called at 7am pacific time when they opened. I was also on hold an hour when trying to call the first number as well. I also emailed site surveyscheduling@tesla.com. It should be easier to set this up. A phone call, text, email...

I assumed a Solar City PPA lease nearly 4 years ago. I wrote an earlier review complaining about how the electricity costs more than what we buy from the grid (PGE/MBCP). Over the 4 years I've tracked it, our power from Tesla costs 22% more than what we purchase from the grid and it goes up 3% every year. I started having problems with the panels back in December 2019 and were told they would be replaced under warranty as they were leaking and there was water intrusion into the panel. I heard nothing back for months - called them repeatedly and never got an update. Tesla showed up in June 2021 to the do the replacement without warning - just showed up on my doorstep to replace them one day. Good thing I was home and could accommodate the installation.
Now I would like to buy out the lease because I don't want to deal with the company anymore and their horrible service. The contract states I can buy them at the higher of fair market value or a buyout schedule listed in the contract. They offered me a buyout of $21K, the contract buyout is $14K, and the cost of new system is less than $8K.
I also found out when I refi'd my mortgage last year that they have a lien on the title despite the contract stating they would not place a lien on my property. They get around this by saying it's really a "UCC-1" which in their opinion is not a lien. But guess what? You can't refi without this obligation being addressed so that appears to be a lien, doesn't it? Finally, the system they installed for the previous owner is woefully undersized for the house and should be 3X the size. I am glad they didn't size it appropriately, though, as I'd be in an even worse position.
All of these issues are made much worse by the non-existing customer service you get from Tesla. You can't get anyone on the phone who can help and that is by design. Their website even references a chat support service that doesn't exist - they reference using the chat icon and it doesn't show up on the page. Just horrible. Bottom line: DO NOT ASSUME AN EXISTING SOLAR CITY PPA WHEN BUYING A HOUSE. Make the previous owner purchase the system or give you a credit for its cost. After all, you wouldn't take over the HELOC someone got to remodel a kitchen. This is the same thing. Don't let a realtor or Tesla tell you differently.

Few weeks after installation still waiting for the company to repair damages made to my house after installation. Project advisor is unresponsive. No updates on project status. Subcontractors that Tesla hired who ultimately should be responsible for the damages to the house during old roof tear-off declined responsibility and pointing finger at Tesla. Tesla does nothing. I would rate the roof installation as 3 of 5. Tiles are bulging. It has been reported to Tesla but again zero response aside from "we are working on it". Tesla Energy employees were asking me to open my garage while they were working on project.
I had to run some errands just to come back to my house and find my garage is open and all Tesla employees left home. Nobody even cared to give me heads up when they were leaving. All working site is covered with trash and nail after installation. I've been cleaning my property for a few days after installation completion. During installation Tesla blocked my driveway and garage with huge dumpster which they didn't care to remove a week after installation! Nobody let me know when they will remove the dumpster and leftovers - it was just sitting there for a week after everybody left.
Project scheduling was a circus - they moved installation date 5 or more times and even when it was finally scheduled they still missed it. System still can't be brought online as it needs a utility approval. Issue is - nobody from Tesla employees can say how long it will take and what stage it is at. It looks like they are saying "we are working on it" but actually didn't even start. Overall I like the product but company has a long way to go to streamline the process and leaving a lot to be improved in communication with customer. Giving it 3 stars only because I like the product and support their mission. Otherwise I would give it 2-.

I spent 44 grand with Tesla. They installed my solar panels but one was kind of gray looking and had a sagging center. It has thousands of hairline cracks in it. I documented it from the beginning. Now they want to charge me to come and replace it. I’ve sent letters with photos and documents dating back to recently after it was installed. The recent Tesla repair guy verified that it is a defective panel. Now they won’t even reply to my emails.

Updated on 07/08/2021: Just completed a review regarding troubleshooting a new Tesla Power Wall. By the time the review was submitted, the issue had been resolved by the Tesla engineers and my system is fully functional. To say I'm satisfied with the service is an understatement. Fantastic support.
Original Review: Just had a new Tesla solar roof installed with power walls. After activation, the Tesla app indicated the solar roof was functioning but the power wall was not charging. After an initial communication through the chat support line I connected with the Power Wall support team. Stacey was fantastic. She tried to reconfigure the system remotely but encounter certain error messages that needed to be escalated. She explained the specific error issue in detail as well as the escalation process and followed up with an email with her contact information. Perfect. Tesla will resolve this issue promptly and I remain a dedicated Tesla supporter of their leading edge and visionary products.

The Installation was fine. The back office process is HORRIBLE, after installation the final inspection from City, I was informed that they are not able to submit the application to local Power utility company as they have backlog for 90 days and then it will take up to 30 -90 days from the Power Utility Company to give permission to operate. Back Office does not have enough people to process application on time. They can come back and always say we are backlogged again and you will have to wait for another 90-180 days. So now they have my money paid in full and no Solar for next 6 or more months. Note: I had to submit the payment in full for more than $16,000 after final inspection.

Install went fine but that's where "fine" ended. We were told we could expect to operate in 6-8 weeks. Our panels were installed in early April. It is now JULY and Tesla still has not sent the application to operate to PGE. We were told by Tesla that pge is slow... Only to call pge and find out that the issue is with Tesla. We called Tesla and were told they are "backlogged" and it could take 60-90 days before they even SUBMIT the application to PGE. Specifically, even though our system was installed in April and passed inspection in early May, it could be mid September before PGE is even aware of our intent to operate. I asked on the phone to speak with a manager or even someone who could walk ME through the paperwork, and was told "they will just tell you the same thing".
Tesla's inability to hire enough employees to process paperwork is a huge issue. No one wants to wait FIVE months to operate their solar after paying 50k. Here we are in the dead of summer in California paying a huge electric bill with a perfectly functioning solar system we CAN'T use due to Tesla's "backlog". Their excuse of being backlogged is bad business and shows that they really don't care about their customers. In our case tesla was cheaper than the small companies in our area. If we were to do it again, we would have used a local company. My advice: even if you have to Pay more...use a smaller company that cares about customer service. I'm praying we don't have any issues with it once we finally can operate because I can only imagine the nightmare of dealing with their technical support "team". DONT USE TESLA.

Was SolarCity. Now Tesla in 2016 when my solar system was installed, we owned 14k financed at 5% for 30 years. 5 years later it is 14k minus 200$ principal, over 3800$ interest. The answer from Tesla is that interest is based on solar panel productions. That was news to me. What it means is that I will still own close to 14k after 30 years the way Tesla/Solarcity sees the finance agreement saying interest is based on production. What did I miss on the fine print?

We hired Tesla to put in solar and they have been out several times. They have done it wrong so many times we’re 4 1/2 months out and they still have a problem. Every time they come out they find a different problem that the previous crew did. We still have holes in the roof that they said they filled but didn’t. I’m worried about when winter comes. They’re communication is awful, the project manager they assigned won’t call back or respond to emails. Then they have workers come out and tell us they don’t know why they’re here. We’ve taken time out of our day for them to come out and fix what they did. We have not been offered any type of discount for their mismanagement. The worst management and customer service ever on such an expensive buy.

I have been working with Tesla for months on a solar project with 2 power walls. The design phase was extremely slow and unresponsive. Multiple project managers, sometimes taking over a week to respond to an email. However, the worst part has been the installation. I ordered 2 powerwalls. Contract and spec sheets provided were for powerwalls. Installation team showed up with Powerwall-Plus. Unfortunately this is a different product with different dimensions and won’t fit into the installation space. Now because Tesla switched my product, it has to go back to redesign. I can’t get anyone to prioritize my install. I feel like they abandoned me. Hoping they will step up and expedite providing me with the product I ordered and prioritize my installation.

My solar was installed 6/30/21 after purchasing the system 1/4/21. I had numerous project advisors over that time and was told various reasons why the process was taking so long which proved false. The various project advisors tried their best when you finally got ahold of one. It was difficult since the majority of them were located out west. I basically was on the verge of canceling the project from March until just a few short weeks ago. I literally told Tesla to schedule the installation at risk or I was canceling because I was tired of waiting. I hope the inspection and approval process is a bit more smoother cause I don't need any more headaches.

My overall experience with my solar system installation was excellent. From the site inspection to city inspection, Tesla Energy was professional and efficient. Tesla Energy managed all the permitting process and inspections including fulfilling specific requirements regarding my HOA rules. In addition, they were very price competitive based on the quotes I received from several other local vendors. The installation was done a week early, and Tesla showed up 30 or 40 minutes early for the city inspection to ensure everything went smoothly.

It's been almost 2 months since my initial review and now I want a refund of the whole system. It was wired incorrectly for about a month before they figured it out. During this time I called customer service numerous times to schedule appointments for technicians that either never showed up, showed up late, or just randomly showed up the next day. One day they came to fix an issue that had been resolved a month prior. My project advisor popped smoke as soon as the certificate of completion was done (which was also delayed). Now, after they rewired the whole system, it's underperforming (confirmed by Tesla) by 200%. This whole thing has not been worth it so now I am going to begin the refund process... if that's even an option.

I really should give it 4.5 stars: initial dealings with Tesla were strangely inconsistent. The first Tesla rep I dealt with seemed strangely unfamiliar with the product and unable to answer certain questions I had about Powerwall and the installation process in a convincing way. Then she disappeared and another dude took over--sort of, but not really. When the power company had issues about certain documents, I really needed to talk to someone at Tesla as it seemed the whole job might be jeopardized, but nobody ever got back to me even though I kept trying and trying to communicate with them. It was weird. Then (and I would normally actually appreciate this) nobody called/texted to confirm the installation date the day before, which cast the whole thing in even more doubt.
But the morning of the appointed day, the two guys did in fact show up, and they were absolutely fantastic in every way: super-knowledgeable, smart, resourceful, inventive, diligent, extremely good-natured etc. etc. I really can't say enough in their favor, and they did an absolutely amazing job--and got what was scheduled as a three-day job done in two. Sooo good!

My experience adding panels to my existing system was well below expectations. Outside of the onsite survey and the installation, my experience as a customer was horrible. My project advisor was supposed to be my POC, however, they were completely unresponsive. They because I was assigned to a Maria (unresponsive) and then to a Carolyn (unresponsive). All updates that I received occurred because I had to make it happen by calling and speaking with other reps. No proactive attempts to provide updates occurred after the survey was performed.
There was an issue with asbestos that the design team needed to sign off on. I learned this after calling in for an updated status when I noticed that the scheduling of my installation was delayed. I called twice and had two separate tickets opened both of which did not result in me getting an update. I had to keep calling. Once I did finally get my installation scheduled, an installation date was emailed/texted to me, however, I was not given the option to accept or decline the date. Attempts to change the schedule date for the install were a nightmare as it takes over an hour to reach your scheduling team which is unacceptable. I gave up on getting through to the scheduling team and asked a project advisor to send a request to reschedule the installation, however, no action was taken and the installers showed up on the original date anyway.
When I called to reschedule, I was forced to waiting on hold for over an hour to reschedule. My schedule time was 12-2:00, however, the installers were told that my install was scheduled for 7:00 am. I received four calls at 6:30 am from the installers who were trying to get the ok to arrive at 7:00 am which I declined. I was completely frustrated. I am extremely disappointed in Tesla's ability to implement me as a customer. When I received my original panels via Solar City, that implementation was extremely smooth. Not sure why service has declined to this level, but if I did not have Tesla panels already on my roof, I would have walked away. I hope for better times to come given that I am a customer for at least the next 20 years. Ugh!!

The product is great but the Project Manager pulled a bait and switch on me, I later learned that he did the same thing on 2 others that I know. 2 weeks after I signed the contract he sent another with a 50% in price. I fought this and got my original price back. 3 days before install he sent another “contract update” with an additional $5,000 on it for rotted facia board, rotted underlayment, and stated an extra charge due to 2 layers of roofing rather than 1. I asked when he visited the property and was told he didn’t but he had photos from the air. At install, only 1 layer of roofing, no rotted facia boards, only 2 sheets of plywood needed replacement.
Now for the good. The installation crew was GREAT. They were friendly, informative, professional and wonderful to work with. At the end of the day, I think I’ll be a happy customer just like I am with my Tesla Model S but buyer beware of the bait and switch. If you are assigned a project manager with the initials MH run, run very fast.

The installers were great but the scheduling it was horrendous, my first account rep got fired. Nobody told me they never reassigned my case to anybody else so I had to hunt down somebody about my order. They sent the poor installer to our house the first time with no knowledge that we had an existing solar system so they left. It took 2 1/2 months finally for Tesla to reassign my case and have the installer come out and install the power walls the installers were wonderful but the customer service from Tesla getting to the final product being installed was a nightmare.

I love Tesla products. My car, home charger, solar panels and Powerwalls all work wonderfully together and the app ties it all together beautifully. No complaints at all about the technology itself, which is fantastic. Installation was also a pleasant experience. Quick, clean, efficient, and great communication from the team that was on site. Mild frustration that they won't let me retain and sell my solar RECs, but that's part of their business model and a part of the total package price comparison to the competition. I get it and can accept that.
The biggest negative is customer service. We signed our contract in the first half of March 2021, and permitting and installation happened reasonably quickly--installation was complete by mid April. But from initial contact in January 2021 to now (June 2021), we've been passed off to new project advisors way too often--currently on our 4th advisor, and we're not done yet. And most frustrating of all is how quickly things slowed down after we paid. They sent the invoice for payment in full as soon as county inspection passed (May 21, 2021). I had no intention of paying until I had permission to operate, but re-reading the contract showed that I actually agreed to pay upon passing inspection. So I paid the full amount in late May. Three weeks later, my account still shows the full amount due, despite confirming that my credit card payments have cleared.
I finally was able to get a response from my latest project advisor, who explained that it can take up to NINETY DAYS after inspection to get the Certificate of Completion and Permission to Operate. Somehow, it seems the company has lost its sense of urgency once they got my money, and there doesn't seem to be any priority on letting me generate my own electricity and stop paying my local utility. Very disappointing. I look forward to eventually enjoying the new product, getting off the grid, and having my system pay for itself. Too bad Tesla is more focused on getting my money than on actually accelerating the world's shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

Install is not 100% complete yet, but so far the team did a great job with the install. Juan did a great job representing the team putting on the panels, and they did a fantastic job. Panels look great. Jon and Jose did fantastic job leading the electricians (Luis, Steve, and others) to get my in-wall in garage installation of the powerwalls installed. At first I was very concerned when initially Steve and Luis did not know about the difficulties in the install, but Jon and Jose came to help and did awesome. Jon and Jose from my first day install in particular were fantastic and I would pay extra to have them work on my projects in the future. Still waiting for them to come and finish the electrical wiring in and close up the drywall, but I am satisfied with the service so far.

I signed up for Tesla solar panels. I found that communicating with telephone customer service after each step ensured timely and accurate response. I received installation in less than six weeks. Updated on 07/10/2021: Now I found out they submitted incorrect documents by calling my utility company. I was quoted getting a solar edge inverter but when they came and did the install they installed Tesla inverters. Since it didn’t match the permit it needs to be resubmitted. It’s amazing that I had to do all the corrections and when I tried to notify them, nothing. It’s July 10, 2021 and I’m still in the beginning phase of getting a meter installed and who knows when they will figure out the problem. I would not recommend them at all. Go with a local company. Elon if you’re reading make things right. It’s wrong your company treats people like this during these harsh times. I’m backed up on bills and now my electric went from 220 to 448 a month because of loan payment. 40,000 dollar system and I can’t even use it.
Original Review: Tesla has some of the best prices when it comes to installing Solar and Powerwalls but it comes with a drawback. My Project Manager has a case load of 500 accounts. I literally had to be my own project manager. Making phone calls and following up every step of the way. I’ve had my system installed on March 10, it’s been 3 months and nothing. Now, I have a loan payment due and still have an electric bill. The whole purpose was not to have one. Imagine having 500 accounts, there is no way you can have good customer service. If you go this route be prepared to be a Karen seems like the only way to get things done.

- "Everyone has a rough experience."
- Lost power for day with 15 minutes warning (no communication).
- Last access to driveway and car charging, contrary to what we were assured beforehand.
- Fasteners and dangerous debris left all around house, in yard, over weekends as a hazard to small children.
- Every request was acknowledged, but then 50%-75% were flat out missed with no follow-up. E.g. "We'll move dumpster on Tuesday so you can charge your car...." Then it never happened and they didn't reach out.
- Our project manager -- Bill -- was a super nice guy, but he seemed totally powerless in the Tesla machine.
- To confirm, we've literally never had a worse home-install/contractor experience. I am a HUGE Tesla and clean energy supporter. This was awful.
- I have lots of issues with the final aesthetics of the install and interim OR final walkthrough was never even offered. I am 100% confident it's going to tremendously challenging to get their attention.
- I emailed our original Tesla PoC during the install and never heard anything.

WOW. I am shocked and at a loss for words. Worst company I have ever dealt with. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH TESLA SOLAR - YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED, FRUSTRATED, AND STRESSED BEYOND BELIEF! I should have looked at reviews before being a "Tesla Fan Boy" and just going with what I thought would be the best customer experience/product. I was about to purchase a Model Y and also waiting for the Cyber truck but after this, I can say without a doubt I will not be purchasing anything from TESLA. Why they suck:
- No customer service. Literally have been waiting to speak with a manager for days (almost two weeks now) and no response from anyone on the team.
- Solar was installed and they left holes in my ceiling. Waiting to see if they will fix it.
- The one person I was able to get in contact with even told me himself that Tesla will not be responding to any of my messages and that he's my best hope. Then begins to tell me how I should be appreciative that he is going out of his way to contact me even though he doesn't have to. LOL Are you kidding me? Is this really how tesla operates? I thought I was being pranked.. Haha I could keep going but this is a waste of time. I hope my warning saves at least one person time and money.

On June 2 the Comanche Team arrived from the Stockton Tesla office. A few minutes later the Powerwall team arrived. On June 3 all was installed and looked great and worked. This was not a small system. It had 12 solar panels on the front of the house and 24 on the west facing rear and they made them look great. The two Powerwall Plus units were on the north garage wall and the interface had to look nice.
Abraham the lead went over how they were going to proceed and before every change he recommended he would make sure that we understood the why and the benefits. At the end he made sure we understood how the system worked. The teams were very efficient and safety conscious. Each team member was friendly and professional. It was a pleasure watching them work. They clearly had done this before. The Powerwall pair had the two power walls placed in a very pleasing manner and they explained how it all worked with the panels, inverters and gateway. All team members answered our questions and we felt assured that we had a great system installed in professional manner. Thank you Tesla.

Very happy we went with Tesla for our solar roof project. Communications once the project started was excellent. Job site was cleaned daily. Even though our roof was likely more complex than originally anticipated they remained committed to finishing the project with amazing attention to detail. All our neighbors were impressed with the professionalism of the team and how they left the site every day. This is a technology company that happens to work on your roof, not a roofing company that is installing technology.

Original solar installation was by Solar City and they were bought out by Tesla. After having Tesla contracted a group to put screening around the solar panels a few years back for pest abatement, no one advised of tile roof damage. It is now 4 years later and I was just made aware of over 100 tiles that are cracked/broken and places where the cuts for conduit were poorly done. Tesla advised not their problem. I had repairs done and required over 100 tiles to just ensure the roof would not leak. Was advised I need a new roof...again Tesla advised "too bad" in so many words. To replace the roof, the panels have to come off and must go back on for a cost of $3900 in addition to the cost of the roof.
I asked about cancelling the contract..no can do. They are a terrible company and from what I can see take no responsibility for their workmanship or product. They simply want the money and don't care about the customers. Three other family members got their systems, due to how happy we were with our electric cost reduction...RUN FROM THIS GROUP and find a good company that has a good reputation and ask how they would handle issues such as noted in the reviews in this section.

The installation process was flawless. The installers showed up on time, were polite, finished their work efficiently, cleaned up afterward, and took time to explain the system to me. All good. The sales process was another matter. That was a frustrating shambles, with simple questions unresponded to for weeks if not months at a time. I almost gave up. Fortunately the guys they finally sent to put the thing in changed my perspective on Tesla Energy.

After ordering the system on Tesla’s website, communication was poor. Our project “manager” changed 3 times and none responded to queries in a timely manner. Aside from a series of redundant texts and emails confirming an install date, there was no collaboration on placement of breaker boxes or Powerwall placement until the day the crew showed up to install. The electrical plans submitted to the county were unworkable and only the ingenuity of the electrician, brainstorming with me for nearly an hour, produced a satisfactory alternative solution. Even so, the plans will have to be revised and resubmitted to the county for approval, causing several days of activation delay. I would give the installation team 5 stars and the pre-install process 1 star. Tesla’s current pre-installation process is ineffective and inefficient.

Ordered my Tesla solar and Powerwall in Feb-Mar time frame, got it installed by late May. Customer service and advisor side of Tesla energy still needs work, but both the Powerwall and the Solar install team were stellar. They had the work done in 2 days and made it look nice and clean. Dylan, Ryan and the whole team were professional, polite, timely, and transparent. They also cleaned up the job side very well when they were done and were very accommodating of questions. Tesla is building a great team of installers who take pride in their work!

We were able to work with them directly to come by to remove and reinstall the electrical boxes to get our replacement siding work done. My husband and I purchased a home in MA with Tesla Solar Panels on the roof. We were excited about this because it was better for the environment and my husband and I plan to purchase a Tesla or 2 in the near future. However, our experience with the company has been a nightmare from the get go on 3 separate occasions.
Scenario 1: This started when we needed to transfer the lease of the solar panels from the old homeowners to us. My husband tried calling but was very frustrated as it would always end up at a dead end with no answer/response from the appropriate party. My husband sent an email on 7/23/20 to Cali ** with no response, he followed up again on 7/29/20 and we did not get a copy of the Transfer agreement until 8/11/20.
Scenario 2: We tried to get in contact with someone on potential upgrades and getting the wireless monitoring working, but did not hear back. This was back in November of 2020, we tried to reach out to Cali (11/23/20) as we could not find a direct person to contact to see if this person could help up. Until this day, we never heard a response from a representative.
Scenario 3: We scheduled to replace the siding on our house on 6/7/2021 and in order for them to do a good job, we need Tesla to come remove 3 electrical boxes from the side of our house. We have been trying to contact Tesla since 5/17 and initially were told this service would cost $850.00 to remove and replace, but they could not confirm a date and in the "agreement" had an ambiguous timeline of within the next 3 months and the service in the agreement was not what was agreed upon in the conversation with my husband so again he has been trying to contact to update the contract and get confirmation on a specified date. Tesla will not provide a direct contact with the scheduling department and keeps telling us they will contact us but has been unresponsive to our requests/clarifications. We are not just working with Tesla as we are also working with another company and our contractor that is scheduled to replace the siding on our house on 6/7.
If these 3 instances are any inclination of what customer service is like for Tesla overall, no matter how good their products are, I cannot recommend or trust that this is not a reflection of the customer service experience of the entire company. My husband and I have decided against purchasing Tesla cars in the future. We are frustrated that we have not heard back from Tesla and are concerned we will need to push out replacing our scheduled siding due to the unresponsiveness and unprofessionalism of Tesla's customer service department.

I would actually give no stars if possible. Since the first minute of the system activation one of the inverters (new Tesla inverter) never worked, their so called inverter issue expert team, on-field technicians and the crew who installed the system had no clue what went wrong. Each one of them pointed different broken things. Every time they want replace some hardware it takes at least 15 business days to get that order delivered. Their customer service does not have any clue on how to diagnose the new Tesla inverters, each time when I call the customer service after several hours being on the call they either end up saying "I will get back to you" (which they never did) and end the conversation or they redirect the call to another department who also does not have any clue. Worst company to go for solar projects. Given an option I would like get rid of the system from my roof and do my business with other local competitors.

This is our second solar system we have purchased. Two years ago, Sun Run installed our system in Lincoln, CA. We had problems throughout the installation and hook up. Tesla has given us fabulous, professional service every step of the way. Unlike Sun Run, we will pay for our system when inspection has passed. With Sun Run, we were required to pay upfront. Our system failed inspection three times.... With Tesla, supervisors are inspected by different, qualified inspectors from the company before the county inspection. Installation from start to solar roof installed was four days. It was months with Sun Run...Should we buy another residence, we will install a Tesla Solar roof.

Called Tesla Customer Service after my failed attempt to reset my Tesla App on my smart phone for the purpose of assessing my Powerwall battery status following the video instructions online. Spoke with Carletta ** who was EXTREMELY patient, courteous, and helpful! She was able to assist me with reestablishing service. After failed first attempt, she did more troubleshooting and called back shortly after! Nothing was mentioned after 1st conversation that she would be doing so BUT she clearly went ABOVE and BEYOND to help a customer in need! We need more people like her in this world!

I hope to be able to change this review, but as of now I am very unhappy. When I spoke with Adam on the phone he said I could get a 19kwh system. All I had to do was give them a $100 deposit and they would start my project. I was given a project manager, Michael **, and he sent me a project quote for 16kwh. I immediately emailed and called him to explain I needed a 19 kwh system and he didn't respond so I called Adam, who took my money and explained the situation to him and he said he would fix it. Michael called me back and said he could fix it and he was sorry. I then got a quote for a 12kwh system. Really? So I again emailed and called. No response.
I called Adam and left a message since he didn't pick up, and no response. I waited 4 days and called and emailed again. This time I didn't get a call or email but my Tesla system changed to now a 14 kwh system. What is going on? So AGAIN... I tried emailing and calling. This time I added the emails for Tesla Feedback and NAsales and both came back "message blocked". What is going on with Tesla? We went with them because we have heard nothing but positive things about the company but maybe that is just the electric car part and the Solar is ran by someone else. I am still waiting for a response or my money back, but honestly I just want my solar done.

Calling service was pretty quick and they quickly and politely addressed my issues! They were eager to help and pleasant to talk to. 5-10 min wait to connect. My powerwall wasn’t charging from the solar. They identified an issue with sensors in the cables and scheduled it to be looked at.

Outstanding technology and great installation crew. We have been extremely impressed by the engineering of the roof tiles, and the integration with the Tesla PowerWall. The crew focused on a quality installation and didn't appear to be pressured to cut corners for the sake of a quicker install. We are very happy with the installation.
On another note, we were dismayed when Tesla unilaterally increased the price by 50% after we had signed the contract 8 months prior, and were ready to schedule the installation after the design work was completed and the permit approved. However, once we saw the quality of the product and the installation, and understood the large amount of labor required, we felt that the price was justified.

My inverter stopped working three months ago under warranty and I was initially told that it would be two weeks for Tesla to order a replacement. I was told the manufacturer had to approve the warranty replacement and it is now going on three months and I am still awaiting a replacement for a new inverter. During this timeframe, I have contacted Tesla and I was informed there are no inverters in stock with the manufacturer. How is Tesla installing new solar systems on homes if they don't have any inverters in stock for their new customers? Tesla is doing nothing more than avoiding their responsibility to cover the warranty. It does not take three months and counting to get an inverter from the factory nor does it take that long to build one.
Contacting Tesla service is impossible and no one from Tesla has never contacted me for updates as to what is an acceptable reason that is causing the delay. Tesla gives you all the bells and whistles to go with their product, yet is very negligent when something goes wrong. Tesla does not make it easy to contact them when needed. A basic staple to judge a company's quality is how good or bad their customer service is. Stay away from Tesla and go with another company.

Overall, the customer service was good. The lead was very knowledgeable and clear, and any questions were answered. However, my outside camera caught a number of the panels being hit against the gutters on my roof. I am concerned there may be damage to them.

I went to Tesla Solar for my home solar needs mostly because of its name and did not do much research. We ordered a 16.3 KW unit with 3 battery packs at the cost of almost $56,000.00. The project took almost 9 months from the start to the finish. From 8/1/2020 to 4/15/2021. The whole of Tesla's solar department is in turmoil with lots of internal shuffling. No one seems to stay on the job for more than a few weeks. Every time you call, you talk to a new person and or a new supervisor.
Getting PG&E approval was a nightmare. No one followed up with PG&E, files sit in black hole for months and months and no one had a clue as to the cause of delay. It took about 6 months to get clearance from PG&E which normally should have taken a month. I am a professional and I must have spent 30-40 hours of my precious time to get an handle of my project. I am truly baffled how they can survive in such a competitive environment. I would strongly recommend to stay away from Tesla. They are very happy to take your money and sit on it for months and months with no remorse.

Tesla installed a 4KWh solar array and battery at my home. The process took less than a day and the staff worked with me to minimize impact to my home and lawn. After the install I experienced some problems getting Permission to Operate from my utility provider. I called Tesla and a helpful technical support agent walked me through all the necessary steps, including troubleshooting activation at my home. Product is excellent. Great experience overall. Best yet I will no longer be paying any electricity bills!

I was having a problem accessing the Tesla app to monitor my solar and power wall due to an update of the app. I was trying to re-install my password with no luck. I called and spoke with Stacey ** and was given excellent service as she talked me through deleting the old version and adding the new Tesla app, which ended up taking about 2hrs, since I use an iPad to access the app, and don't use the device for any other purpose. My lack of knowledge about the iPad slowed the process to a crawl, but Stacey was very patient and kept advising me on what I should try next. We were finally able to get to a page she could work with, and am once again able to monitor my power wall. Thank you Stacey.

Tesla Sacramento installation office was great. They arrived early than they had estimated to begin installation, a day early. It took two full days. All the workers were polite, professional and friendly. They offered to paint the wiring poles to match our house color to make them less obvious. No complaints here. I would recommend to anyone.

Your mileage may vary, but from what I have personally experienced and read others reviews, they are accurate. The customer service started out great with the sales team, but once the project team got involved it was nothing but miscommunication after miscommunication. I literally had to follow up each day and call them each day for a month after no movement after I signed the contract.
2 inspections were done and they still did the work halfway and then left. They had to reapply for a new permit and did not come back to finish until 2 months later. After I escalated to a customer service manager and talked, things were not much better just playing a game of hot potato. I was verbally upset after talking to agents and not able to get through when calling them. After 4-5 months, the install was done and now waiting for inspections. Only upside is the panels and the product itself was a good price and look good.

From Signup to install was 10 days. The best automation for the process, no upsell, no conversations with anyone. I picked the system I want and that is exactly what I got and no changes in the price quoted when I signed up. Crew that came to do the install was amazing. They came ahead of time and was methodical, careful and efficient. They cleaned up the site after they finished. Explained what I needed to know for the next steps. Very Friendly crew, I was outside watching them work from time to time and they explained what they were doing also. Tesla is changing the industry for folks who want to harness the power of the sun.

While we're enthusiastic about our Tesla Solar Power and Power Wall potential capabilities; it has been a disappointment that after more than 7 Days since the start of the project our Power wall Unit is still in the driveway and there's no electric connectivity overall. A small part was missing and put on order. There's been no information about its status from either Titan Company Installers or the Tesla Project Engineer. After our second attempt to contact Tesla with a 1 hour wait time we were able to to speak to a Tier 3 Customer Service rep who was courteous and verified that the status of the part is unknown and put us on hold after we asked to speak to a Tier 2 i.e. project engineer. Ultimately the call was disconnected on their end.
We're still in limbo and our only prayer is to hope that this review will garner some much needed attention. We've attached a photo of the Powerwall and our contract to verify our situation. My recommendation to others, is to wait until Tesla has their installation service and customer service wrinkles ironed out. We have two Tesla vehicle and are loyal customers and are sadly perplexed by this whole experience.

I had solar panels installed in 2016 and believed everything was done correctly. September 2020 my gutter fell off and when it was attempted to be replaced it was discovered that my roof was rotting and now has black mold on the roof, attic and inside my house. I have been given the run around since October when Tesla came to inspect. I have pictures of the damage from the technician that came to my house to inspect. I can not get anyone on the phone beyond customer service. My family is now living with black mold and Tesla seems to not care. FOR ANYONE WHO READS THIS POST DO NOT GET TESLA ENERGY. I am now seeking legal options.

The Tesla Energy installation team that completed my 36 panel install was amazing. These guys really took pride in their work, and it showed. The team of Joe, William (Willy?), Angel, Tim, Ivan, and another tall gentleman from Melbourne, had great customer service, knowledge of the install, and were just a fun group to be with. For some reason, Tesla told them my install would be done in 1 day, so they were a bit stressed at first. I had been informed it was a 2 day install, and they took a full 2 days to complete the job. But the job was completed on time and accurately. Great work team!

No customer service whatsoever, they get stuck for months at any point of the process. Overall really slow process, they did not installed my solar panels correctly and I've contacted them several times through email and the app and still they won't send someone to fix it, the solar panels are not producing producing energy, Tesla is the cheapest out there but not the best option. I regret going with them just to save some money. Now it's just headache after headache. They really dont care about the consumer since everything is installed and payment arrangements have been made. They take their sweet time with any issue.

Installing solar and storage for my home was fast and easy with Tesla. I reached out on a Saturday evening and was under contract by Monday night. I was able to complete the site audit in about 20 minutes using my phone, and completed all the documentation online. Tesla has a simple online portal that shows the status of your project along with key milestones along the way. I received regular text and email updates, so I rarely wondered where we were at in the process, nor what would come next. On the day of installation, the crew showed up on time and worked diligently through the day. The work consisted of a 4kW rooftop solar system as well as one PowerWall. The whole installation took from 7:30am until 3pm the same day. The building department showed up on the following Friday to sign-off on the work. Now we're just waiting for the Utility to give us permission to operate, which take about 3-4 weeks.

Placed an order for solar. No response/progress for over a week. Called Tesla and was told that there was a problem in the system and therefore a proposed design was not visible to me. Now I can see it. Have tons of questions, called, texted, IM'ed Tesla 5 times. No call back for 2 weeks now. I'm about to give up on this order and go with Sunrun instead. I have a sales advisor attached and available at any time at Sunrun. As much as I would like to buy from Tesla, it made it all but impossible.

My experience with Tesla Energy was one of the best I have experienced over the years. A case involving Tesla Powerwall dysfunction had been opened on previous days and sent to a higher level. I called today to add some information to the case and the representative listened carefully. She also noted some other data that led her to a conclusion that the cause of the problem might be our solar inverters rather than a problem with one or more of our home circuits as was previously suggested. Shutting off the inverters and performing a power off test of the Powerwall strongly supported this hypothesis.
She added this to the case information with the hope that a remote adjustment of the inverters by a second level team will solve the problem or point to a different inverter issue. Clearly, this customer representative had the knowledge and skill to examine the problem history, sort out the important details, add additional observations and set a well defined course for resolving the issue. It doesn't get any better.

Updated on 06/05/2021: In January of 2021 Tesla finished installing a solar roof on my home. They damaged my rain gutters and now water is overflowing out of them. After the ground gets soaked water will begin to encroach into my basement and in some places could be getting inside the walls. Tesla has been effectively unresponsive. Tesla acknowledges the issue but say it’s under review. Moreover, because it's a glass roof I cannot anyone to work on my home, (there is also missing and damage siding and some other cosmetic issues).
Original: I had Tesla install a solar roof on my house. Actual work started October 2020 and ended in January 2021. There were problems from the start. However on particular issues is the rain gutters on my house were damage during installation because it was assumed the gutters would be replaced. After I complained about the damage Tesla increased my bill by $2,112.50. Tesla has been pestering me to agree to the increase for at least a month, and will not fix and of the other issues I have until I agree to pay. We’ve gone back and forth with this and no one I talk to can make a decision. Tesla’s local after-sales customer service is ineffective to say the least.
To add insult to injury in order to install galvanize drip edging of the roof slots had to be cut slots where the existing gutter hangers are. This created tabs that were then bent up you can actually see them from the ground. This looks hideous and will prematurely rust. I was told over the phone by Tesla customer support they can bend the tabs down and tuck them behind the gutter. This is not what drip edge is for. This will force the water behind the gutter and in the long term cause damage to my home. Another issue is my siding was cut and the j-channel was removed and never reinstalled—there a pieces of my siding missing. Also, during the installation process the roof leaked and damage was done to a closet door in the master bedroom. The final insult is my roof has never produced even 80%, at any instant, the amount of energy it was supposedly designed to produce.

First year with Tesla solar panels and I’m paying electric bill and solar panels loan, doesn’t work as I expected, Tesla engineer or team didn’t give me the right amount of panels to produce energy for my house minding I told the seller many times I wanted to buy the tesla car and I was avoiding to pay electric bill, now I still pay for electricity and I can’t buy the car because I’m over my sun production. I called customer service many times and no one give me a solution. Worse service ever!!!

We received an approval for installation from our electric provider so we could install. It was sent to both us and Tesla. Tesla said they hadn't received it and could not start the install. They had it all along. A couple of weeks delay. Then they told us they had not received their money’s from greenback and couldn’t start the install. Lied again. They did receive it. After all of this bull we just failed our inspection from the town. More delays. Elon should be ashamed of this!!!

I ordered Tesla solar panels for my home twice. First time everything seemed great until permitting. I waited 2 weeks and my documents that never came. Reached out to my project coordinator and he informed me that they were still sitting in the queue. So I canceled. Waited 2 weeks then reordered again. Second time nothing was right. My overlay was not to my liking, It’s like nobody there is paying attention to the customers. Emailed my project coordinator and I tried to call my project coordinator and no response within 48 hours so I canceled again. Personally I think Tesla is going through a huge growing pains. And they don’t have the right leadership to be successful at this time. They will have get better customer service before I ever become a Customer of theirs. I encourage Tesla to reach out to me so I can give them some constructive criticism. Maybe we can make a deal but at this time it doesn’t seem likely.

So I got the system installed a month ago and at sudden stopped generating power. We did the troubleshooting 3 days ago. When they sent me the bill I pulled money out of the credit card and I paid them in full. Now to fix the problem they give me an appointment in another 6 days. This the total of 9 days of loss of production.
When I called and asked them nicely to help me I laid ASAP but service to be provided at a later time. I’m not happy and they will never reimburse me. They said because the system was paid in full. Never pay them in full as no service will be provided. Try them first and if you don’t like it don’t pay until they fix your issue and make up the difference. Make sure you get this in writing before you make any additional payment

The worst experience in years. Put me on hold for over an hour. Called them about an error. Was told I was going to get a call in 24-48 hours. Never received any calls. So I called them back. And was put through hell. Still no resolution. Don't see the purpose of having the solar power if I'm still paying PSEG for electricity. They suck. Save your money and hopefully you won't be in the position I'm in.

Right from ordering to installation, every step was well informed. The installation team knew what they are doing. They even accommodated my last minute requests to place the batteries at a specific spot in the basement, cram maximum no. of panels on the south roof and to move the piping for better aesthetics. I don't think there would be any better Solar Systems installation team inside or outside Tesla.

The salesman gave inaccurate information to induce me to order, telling me that the federal tax credit is issued as a cash refund. That's false. After I placed the order and asked for confirmation of that and sources, since I couldn't find any... radio silence. After the order was placed I was assigned a rep, who responded to precisely zero of my many emails and phone calls. So I connected to other reps and requested that my order be reassigned. Never happened. They were unable to address my questions and concerns, putting them off for later, then never getting back to me. After three weeks of nothing. I finally cancelled the order. They really have no customer service whatsoever, and no interest in adjusting to the client's needs. I'm going with a different company that's working with me on design, was able to answer all my questions, and has good customer service. I love my Tesla cars, but their solar department is a total joke.

From the design and installation of my solar panels in 2015 to my operation since then by Solar City which was later acquired by Tesla, I have had nothing but the best service on my solar panels. I monitor my production daily with an excellent app on my Iphone. They likewise monitor production. Once two years ago they contacted me because my production was lower than it should have been and sent a crew out to make some adjustments. In my contact with Solar City/Tesla I am guaranteed a certain level of production. In two of those years they reimbursed me for the production that was below the guarantee. My investment in Solar City/Tesla solar panels has turned out to be one off my best investments in my home. The cost savings using solar panels has turned out to be much better than originally projected.

This is the 3rd time in 4 years that I’ve encountered repair issues and each time my experience has been horrendous. The last time I was without solar for service for a month and finally after going to the Better Business Bureau I got the problem fixed (after two visits) and got a refund on my monthly payment. Now? It’s been 10 days since my solar went completely out and after 4 phone calls I’m still “waiting” to find out when I can get someone to come out. Each day I’m losing solar production my true-up bill goes up. This is spring and I’m losing prime solar production. Luckily my so. Is an attorney so I guess I’ll be exploring my legal options. This is absurd!

Working with Tesla to install solar panels and power walls was straightforward with no surprises. The process is highly automated and the steps easy to follow. Due to high demand it took a while to get an install date. Tesla kept you apprised via text. We chose Tesla primarily because several neighbors had used them and they did the research, so I trusted their numbers and experience. The few hiccups in process were handled to our satisfaction and quickly. Install people were great, professional and even worked in the rain. Follow-up inspection was quickly and city permit was quick. As a total novice when it comes to solar and most things electric, I would have welcomed a bit more hand-holding and “solar-for-dummies” explanation from Tesla.

Tesla Martinez office crew installed my solar and powerwall quickly and with great attention to detail and quality of workmanship. The solar panels have nice looking trim and really sturdy mounting hardware, and all conduit was painted to blend in really well with house / trim / roofing. The powerwalls sit in the garage in quite a small space and actually look really nice. Their team was great, and the warranty for their product and install is comprehensive (moreso than other solar folks who bid).

I couldn’t not be happier with the system and install. Josh and his team were absolute professionals. They treated my home as if it were theirs. It was a 2 day install because the size of the system. (36 panels, 2 Powerwalls, 2 inverters, Gateway, etc.) They ran 1 conduit with the trim of my house from basement to attic. You can’t even tell if it was there! The plan was to put 33 panels on the back roof because that’s where all the sun was and 3 in front. They were able to fit the other 3 panels in the back which looks so much cleaner and there’s no solar panels in the front of my roof! Tesla also has different brackets so the panels are super low to the roof with a picture like frame to it. Also these panels are black so if you had to put them in the front they look awesome! They built a wall in my basement for the inverters, gateway, Powerwalls, and 2 electric panels. Everything was aligned and no wires showing at all!
After install they explained how the system works and answered all my questions. The peace of mind is priceless knowing that I will have power no matter what! Yes, when the power is out in your neighborhood you will still have power! No loud noises, refueling, or having to switch breakers. The switch to back up power is seamless. The only way you would know is if you check the app. I highly recommend them, I had 3 quotes and they were the cheapest and I think they price match too. The project was $39,100 but after tax credit and incentives I would 11,300. I live in Massachusetts and have National Grid as my electric company. Just go on their website and check it out. You can’t lose!

I contacted Tesla Energy for a cost estimate on a solar expansion project (additional solar panels and battery storage) for my home. The website estimator was easy to use and provided a basis for comparison with other estimates received. Ultimately, the decision was made to use Tesla for the project. Cost and quality of the products were the main influencers. Twenty-four panels and two Powerwalls were installed to supplement the small solar array provided by the home's original builder. The additional energy production will allow for at-home charging of an electric vehicle. During the process of order to installation, I was continually impressed at the speed at which the project moved forward. The Tesla Solar Advisor was very responsive to both telephone calls and emails, and the installation team completed the entire project in one day. Highly recommended!

I just switched on an 11KW installation with two Powerwalls. The installation took about 2 months from roof tear-off to switch on, but that was due to a lot of cold and snow. The system is beautiful, and performs perfectly. The control and monitoring app is simple and precise. We could not be happier with the entire experience.

We started the process with Tesla in June 2020. The online application was good but it went downhill from there. They did not assign a project manager so all of the project management fell on us. They delivered double the roof supplies vs what was needed because they could not keep the installation dates straight so we could not use our driveway for 8 weeks. They did not follow any COVID policies. They broke the glass tiles all over our property and did not tell us so we had car tires that had to be replaced and some really cut hands. They fell through our attic ceiling.
They failed the first County planning test due to shoddy work and now we are 3 months post production and the roof does not function. They can't figure out why but they did tell us many protocols were not followed. There is no escalation path for issues, so we paid a lot of money for a product that does not work at all. It is too new and they are in a hurry to get your money but they won't actually deliver a functioning product.

I assumed a lease when I purchased a home on Sept 5th, 2019 that was in year 4 of the 20 year lease. I was not aware there was a power output monitoring service at the time of the lease assumption but found out from another home owner in the area that had stopped by to ask me some questions. I initially inquired sometime around November 2019 with a phone call to Tesla's customer support and was told there should have been a gateway monitoring system left by the prior owners. By this time I had been through the house cleaning and moving my personal belongings in and never saw any gateway device.
I called back but got a different person after being on hold for about 20 minutes and had to explain everything again and was told the same thing again that there should be a gateway system left behind by the prior owners. This time I was told I would be sent a Tesla Gateway monitoring system that would work with the Tesla app that I was not even aware of. Nothing ever arrived. Due to Covid and helping some family members I put this issue on the back burner as I was able to see some power output information from APS (my power company) but it is confusing and lags behind real time data by quite a bit.
On Monday, March 1st, 2021 I initiated a chat support through the Tesla website and found out my web account was not set up properly and the support agent was able to fix the web account and promised to Fedex a Tesla Gateway to me. I waited about a week and nothing again has arrived. Oddly though now that my web account is setup properly I got a text and email indicating my monitoring was not working. I emailed again on March 9th, 2021 to inquire and have not heard anything. Can I just get my Tesla Gateway after 16 months of inquiring about it?

I was referred by a friend to Tesla Energy when shopping around for a solar system. After consulting with a few other local companies, I chose Tesla. No one could come near their price and for a much bigger system. I was hesitant because the purchase was completely online and concerned that they weren’t a local company that I could just pick up the phone and call if I had a quick question.
I was pleasantly surprised after committing to the purchase. The installation company was awesome! Very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. I had a couple questions before and after installation. No issues contacting Tesla by phone, text or email and my questions were answered promptly. The neighbors are telling me the panels look nicer than anyone else’s in the neighborhood. Absolutely no issues with the panels or installation. Honestly, I forget I’m solar until my electricity bill arrives. I went from $170 a month to $11! I’m so glad I used Tesla energy and highly recommend them.

From start to finish it’s an easy process. Completely automated and electronic. They guide you through the entire process. It’s worry free. They do the planning through execution. Attention to detail, courteous, prompt. Conscious of the customer at every step. The roof is more stunning in person than in the picture. We have people stop and stare at the house all the time. I was most impressed by their quality control. The final inspector from Tesla was apart from the crew who did the install. Their job was to nit pick. I feel completely confident and am completely satisfied.

My overall experience with Tesla Solar was very poor, with significant problems/delays every step of the process. Communication was bad across many different Tesla staff (with three positive exceptions). I placed my initial order August 28. It took almost 5 months to get permission to turn on my system. During those months, Tesla representatives made multiple and repeated errors, which I believe is largely because their business model appears to rely on departmental silos, making it difficult for customers (or anyone at Tesla) to communicate effectively regarding the whole job. I often received redundant and contradictory messages, including several emails after going operational asking if I still wished to pursue purchasing solar from Tesla.
If I had not asked many questions, my solar system would not have accomplished my goal (whole home back-up). It took months for me just to get a correct contract (which involved adding panels and another Power Wall, contrary to Tesla’s original recommendation). The panels were generally installed well, but the electricians failed to include grounding rods, did not seal mounting screws on the conduit on my roof, tore shingles under one of the mounting “pucks” for the panels, and left before identifying the circuits in the new panel box. If I had not inspected their work, I would not have known these things until my roof started leaking.
I submitted detailed constructive comments in response to Tesla’s requests for internal reviews, describing the litany of problems I had. I noted that—whereas I knew I had no legal grounds—it would seem to be good business practice to be provided some discount for all my trouble. Two Tesla reps eventually contacted me in turn and thanked me for my detailed documents. They both said that my documentation would be very helpful to Tesla’s efforts to improve, implying that they agreed such problems should not happen.
An investigation was even launched to assess my claims, but in the end, I was told that I had no legal rights (which I had already previously acknowledged). For all the problems (they admitted to 31 days of delays, but there were more), Tesla said I would receive a “Customer Satisfaction” payment of…drum roll please….$100! Does anyone think that this would *increase* customer satisfaction? In short, this $100 was equivalent to returning $4.00 to a person who had paid $1000.00.
In fairness, my solar is working well (two months so far), but I dread needing future customer service, although the local person (vs. corporate) has been responsive. I have always thought highly of the Tesla products, but I cannot think of a worse experience regarding customer service than what Tesla provided. Their $100 check is perhaps the most insulting gesture I have experienced in a business transaction. Someone at Tesla needs to consult a dictionary for the definition of “satisfaction.”

I decided to use Tesla for my solar panels after reading several positive reviews on the web. The process with Tesla has been easy and moves along steadily. I first submitted a $100 deposit over the web for the Tesla medium sized solar system. I then took some pictures of my breaker box and electrical meter along with my roof and uploaded them to Tesla all within a Tesla account. Tesla got the project approved with the city and utility company and scheduled the installation about 4 weeks after my deposit.
The installation of the panels took 6 hours. The crew came back two days later to install Tesla's new inverter box. The system did fail the city inspection process twice, once the city wanting a separate breaker for the meter, the second time the city wanting the meter completely outside the breaker box. Each time the Tesla crew came out the next day to make the upgrades. I paid in cash, also fairly easily by linking my bank account to my Tesla account. Presently I am waiting on the inspection by the utility company after which I may turn my system on. The entire process so far has taken eight weeks.
During this whole process I have had three door to door solar salesman from local companies come to my house. All of them seem to be spreading negative falsehoods about tesla service. The last salesman came after my panels were up and seemed to be in disbelief that I would choose Tesla for my solar system. When the Tesla crews come out I usually chit chat with them for a while. Locally here in El Paso, TX, Tesla energy has a crew of about ten employees. The recent disastrous Texas power outages did not affect El Paso. El Paso is on an energy grid with New Mexico, not with the rest of Texas. So El Paso Tesla sent five of its crew into Austin to install systems there.

Tesla did a great job with everything. Very professional installation! Two days and everything was done. A few hiccups, but great follow up and fixes. Great people and good to be off the grid. Very happy with the whole process. Thanks Tesla!

Applied online for Tesla Powerwall. Submitted my $100 non refundable down payment and all requested photos and information. Been 2 months and no word from them. No follow up. Nothing. A waste of $100 and my time. I’d never recommend such a business to anyone. Beware!

What a terrible experience dealing with Tesla solar panels and inverters. Solar panels have connector problems, inverters just stop working, and gateway wi-fi stops working as well. My various issues started in March 2020, and after numerous calls with customer care and technicians throughout the summer, they're still NOT resolved. Obviously their cars are better than their solar panels. I'd stay away from Tesla Solar if I were you!!

We bought a home with Solar City Solar panels. They were bought by Tesla. Tesla never came to our house to check on the equipment that was under producing. Many calls, emails and several years, yes years later we are still not getting any assistance. I call, get put on hold for almost an hour, with no resolution. they say they will call back and they Do Not. If I get an email and attempt to reply the "address not found" the person no longer exists. I have read reviews similar, be careful about what you get yourself into with this company!!! They also owe us monies from under production, my PSEG electric bills are out of control!! Buyer beware!!!

Alfonso and his team were amazing! They were professional and answered any questions I had during the whole process. His team took the time to paint match and blend the piping in with the house. I highly recommend them!

I ordered Tesla solar on 1/16/21, and completed all of the required task, pictures, and uploads within 3 hours. I was assigned Liz ** as my project manager. I also ordered a Model Y on 1/14/21. I received zero feedback from my project manager for weeks. I emailed, called, left voicemails, and text with NO response. I waited over 1 month for a simple solar design! I called the main Tesla solar number and a person said my project had not even been looked at by anyone within tesla and had been escalated to the highest level. I emailed Liz and told the rep they had 3 business days to get me a design or I would cancel.
That time goes by and no response to my email, no design, however my Model Y was ready to be picked up! Tesla built a custom order car faster than getting a solar design to me. Needless to say, I canceled the solar order, and wouldnt you know! Liz ** emailed me within 20 mins of the cancellation that I would be refunded! Absolutely horrible customer service. Oh and I canceled the Model Y order too, how can a large company like Tesla treat a paying customer soo poorly! And I STILL have NOT gotten my $100 back that Liar Liz ** promised. My case number is: **, which is probably a made up lie by Tesla too...

For all future Solar buyers, beware of Tesla. I am a current Tesla Solar customer and they absolutely don't have a customer service. You submit on online request; for which you'll receive a customized response in one week; if you are lucky. They have so much money but don't want to hire real people to deal with customers. Imagine able to contact a live person during emergencies!!! This is source of power to your home not an appliance that you can wait for 7-10 days.

Stacey was a pleasure to talk with. She took the time to explain what was happening with my power wall. If ever I need some more assistance, I want to talk with her. Only complaint/gripe was the hold music. It was very loud. I had to turn the volume up and down several times.

Top of the line product, easy process to order, and complete care during install through to subsequent completion. Tesla supplied continuous notifications yielding status updates along with anticipated installation dates. Once install time came, the professionals did as described. Excellent overall experience....Now comes the solar energy!

Called Super Bowl Sunday not expecting anything but a long hold. My call was answered under a minute by Stacey **, Powerwall Specialist. Having password reset issues she informed me that my iPhone app needed to be updated. She gave me instructions, I was able to access the app thereinafter. I had questions regarding Customized (Advanced) setting. She is knowledgeable and technical but she gave me simple examples of “Balanced vs. Cost Saving” settings that I could understand. She also discovered that my TOU Price Schedule needed to be adjusted. Elon not only makes the greatest car but his Powerwall CRM package is one of the best in the service business. Having a specialist like Stacey behind the wheel, service was easy drive. Overall Experience: 10 out of 10.

Solar City was purchased by Tesla. Since that purchase my "billing is approx $40-50 a month plus internet. I have written to Tesla asking for written explanation of charges monthly with a response by telephone only which I rejected. My internet was not affordable due to covid and money loss and notified Tesla of this. However, even without internet or electricity turned off I received monthly bills with no idea how I could be charged without any electricity or internet services. Total rip off. Is there a class action suit out there.
I was told that Solar City would purchase my electricity and I would have reduced bills. That was never true as I paid $20 month to Solar City plus my regular electric bill plus internet. No one at Solar City, Tesla or the electric company could explain this to me. There is a pandemic going on with people not able to pay bills. What the heck is going on when they keep billing you for what? This is last on my list. Am worried about keeping food and bills paid.
