The work was originally scheduled to begin on September 7, 2024, but did not commence until January 2025. I was informed that the installation would take approximately three weeks; however, the project was not completed until the end of March 2025, and only after repeated complaints regarding unfinished and defective work. The system was inspected in early April 2025, at which time I was advised that it was operational and usable. Both my contract and ESP’s representative, Geo, stated that the system would make my home self-sufficient and eliminate my electric bill. Despite these representations, I have continued to receive an electric bill every month since the system was approved.

When I raised this issue with ESP, I was repeatedly told that everything appeared normal on their end. I contacted PG&E directly to determine how much electricity I was drawing from the grid and was informed that I have been drawing power from the grid every month since the final solar inspection. After I relayed this information to ESP, they sent a third-party technician to evaluate the system. The technician determined that the system wiring had been crossed. As a result, ESP’s monitoring showed the system functioning properly, while the battery was unable to deliver power to my home.

The technician also found that four to five solar panels were not producing or registering the expected energy output. He contacted Tesla, the manufacturer of the system components, and was advised that the most likely cause was improper wiring of the panels. The technician reported these findings to ESP. Instead of correcting the wiring defects, ESP closed my service ticket. I was not contacted again for approximately two months, and only after I indicated that I would retain legal counsel. ESP has since claimed that a report from Tesla shows the system is functioning properly and has refused to correct the improperly wired panels or complete the installation as contracted.

Terrible customer service. Had some issues come up after install and they take months to get to you. Seems like they are drastically under staffed. The NEW aggregation paperwork got mixed up and now I have a massive true-up bill coming. I notified them of this issue in January 2024 and 8 months later, they have done nothing to remedy the issue. Warranty issues take several weeks for a response. Very difficult to actually speak to someone that knows how to answer a question.
