I have four 90 day prescriptions that have been shown as delivered across two tracking numbers (DHL/USPS) and neither have been delivered. Contacted customer service and their solution is to research where the packages are myself are and/or have my doctor call in another prescription and pay out of pocket. What is the point of have a prescriptions benefits if you have to deal with such a lazy, incompetent, shady organization.

If waiting for someone to help with correctly adhering to your physician's medication directions then having them ignored, and purposely sending the incorrect quantity, this is the right place to get you meds. I waited for over an hour to be told that my meds will need to be reauthorized AGAIN due to the failure of Express Scripts to follow my doctor's directions to treat my condition. Horrible, horrible service.

I have been with Express Scripts for six years. For the most part, I was happy with them, they had fulfilled my blood thinners. I usually call about 10 days ahead so I would have them on time. But they did have their scruples, like calling and writing a letter because I had filled a prescription at a local pharmacy. And my husband had done that as well, but my blood thinners had always came from Express Scripts. They told us that if we continue at the local pharmacy they would discontinue us at Express Scripts. So we transferred everything to them. Recently, my husband exchanged jobs, which required us to enroll into the new job insurance program. So it came to time for me to order my prescription and my blood thinners. I go to sign in online and find out all my history is gone and my last refill. I called them up, they said, "Oh you’re a new member?"
I said, "No, I’ve been with this company for six years and that’s what I’m calling about. I need my last refill to be ordered. I’m calling to update my insurance." There was nothing that they could do to retrieve my refill. I had to go visit my doctor and get a new order but I told my doctor I am no longer using an Express Scripts to send my order to Amazon pharmacy. We’ll see how that goes but I will never return to Express Scripts. I think they just went over the line and can compromise one’s health. I don’t know, maybe for their own personal benefit? Seems like maybe somebody’s making sales commissions and if you’re not a good candidate, then they delete you. One more thing, Express Scripts please do not reply with…I’m sorry this happened to you. I am no longer interested and nothing you can say can change that. I hope you learn as a company how to treat customers and act like a pharmacy.

Express Scripts is unfortunately the only mail order pharmacy I can use through my employer. I have had to call corporate several times because of the incompetence of their supervisors. It literally puts butterflies in the pit of my stomach every 3 months I have to renew my medication. Now I am out of medication because of a past due balance that I was trying to pay today but now they have gone up on my medication 50 dollars???? I hate this company with a passion.

I have a required medication that needs to be refilled 1x a month. I started with 2 weeks left on my medication before I ran out thinking things would go quickly. There was some delay because my doctor took a few days to approve my refill. From that point on, it took Express Scripts another two weeks before finally processing my medication. Now they are sending it to me another week late. So now I am 3 weeks without my required medication. To top it off, they are sending it to me when I am on vacation and away from home. This is refrigerated medication. They send me the email today that it was going to be another week. I tried to call them to delay it a few days until I am back from vacation, but they said it is out of their hands. They told me that once I receive the medication, to call their pharmacist to discuss the issue.
I am not sure what the point of that is as the refrigerated medication will be sitting for several days until I return from vacation. I risk losing the effectiveness of a very expensive medication. If you try to order earlier than allowed because of their slowness, you are denied until you are allowed to refill the prescription per their requirements. Having said that, I have used them for another medication that was shipped last week and arrived this week, which took 3 ways from ordering to arrival, but that doesn't need medication and it was in my mailbox waiting for me.
I would say to avoid Express Scripts if you have either medications that need to be refrigerated or need refills 1x/month as it will be cutting it too close. I am very unsatisfied with Express Scripts and will stick to using my local pharmacy which is only took days vs weeks. One other thing to note. I have been paying $0 out of pocket with Costco for the same medication but Express Scripts is charging me a small out-of-pocket price. I am not sure why as it is all through my same medical insurance provider.

If you require anything other than formulary generic medications, be prepared for a stressful, red-tape, bureaucratic nightmare trying to get it filled through Express Scripts. Have been dealing with ES for years and it has gotten progressively worse, year-over-year. It is to the point that dealing with them is as stressful as some of the health conditions we require medications for. Part of it is the design of medical/drug plans to eventually get everyone on generic medications.
Another problem is trying to speak with a human in ES customer service. If you get through the extremely long hold time, more times than not, I am then connected to a noisy, foreign call center. The agents can only deal with standard 'cue-card' type questions and are not knowledgeable on complicated issue you might have. And there is no way to call and get a USA based agent that speaks your language and can help on complicated issues. The ES patient portal messaging email functions is worse. You get a cryptic answer that parrots your questions with some pablum added on, not addressing your issue. All this goes away if you simply take only the meds they say you can take, i.e., formulary generics.

I am a police officer who was shot in 2021 on duty and will probably have to be on pain meds the rest of my life. Workers comp moved my prescriptions to Express Scripts for a more permanent long term pharmacy. I take two medications and have been since 2021. My Doctor has now sent the prescription three different times (Nov 28th, Dec 7th, and Dec 14th) and every time it has been a different excuse by the pharmacy as to why they can't fill it. I am now out of the medication as of December 1st, was forced to withdraw cold turkey, and now have been in immense pain for 15 days with no end in sight.
Nov 28th my Dr sent in a 30 day script since I was running out on December 1st. Showed processing online and I was told by Express Scripts since it was mail delivery it would be at my house on December 4th. I called December 5th because it never showed up and I was told they needed to speak with my Dr office before they could sent it.
I called my Dr and he was told by Express Scripts to send a new prescription. Dec 7th my Dr resent the prescription and it showed processing. It was authorized by work comp and "Ready for shipping" on December 8th when all the sudden it showed "Cancelled" with a message saying my Dr called and cancelled the prescription. I called Express Scripts and they said sorry your Dr called and cancelled it call them. I called my Dr office and they had no record of anything being cancelled and set me up with an appointment on December 14th to see him again.
December 14th my Dr sent the script a third time and agreed to speak with the pharmacist with me in the office to make sure there was no issues. After 15 minutes of talking to the Express Scripts pharmacist, my Dr was so frustrated he gave me the phone and said "I don't know what they want I don't have time for these people." The pharmacist was asking questions about my diagnosis, medical plan, history, asking the Dr if he tried different treatments for the pain. My Dr even told the pharmacist during the call "That is none of your business you are a pharmacist not a Dr." After leaving the office I called Express Scripts and they said everything looked good and the script would be shipped within 24 hours.
Well here we are the end of day on the 15th (Friday) and it is still processing. Express Scripts now wants to ask my Dr questions again and claiming they don't have a prior authorization for the medication! Funny the script from the 28th and 7th was authorized all the sudden this one isn't? They are now saying to call back Monday the 18th since they are closed on the weekend.
The bottomline is this pharmacy does not care about their customers and they will waste your time. I half think they aren't even a pharmacy and scam people. I have contacted an attorney after reading all the reviews on this website and hoping to get some sort of class action against them. This is wrong the amount of suffering they are causing me with no explanation. They will lie and blame everyone else for why your medication hasn't shipped.

Express Scripts is the "preferred" pharmacy for our health coverage, but I have found that they don't accept medication company cards to reduce our cost as a consumer as the local pharmacies do or are they and just double dipping by charging us the consumer 3x to 5x the amount for a medication. Calling and escalating calls to a supervisor don't help because we can't get a copy of what they write in the system, and I have come to find that is very different from the conversation and information we are provided as consumers. I am an able adult and even though it is tiresome and frustrating to have to research such theft our elderly do not do this, and they are being taken advantage of. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and our benefits team for our employer. Our government and healthcare system needs to be audited because our costs for healthcare as well as copays are outrageous.

My mediation order that I place every month hasn't arrived, so I check the status to find out that it's been lost in transit. I called in to get them to reorder it. The best she said they could do was to refund the order. Then I could get my doctor to submit a new script, and reorder the medication. I asked them to comp overnight shipping, and she said they don't do that. Their ground shipping takes a week+ to arrive, or I could out of pocket for their issue. I'm disabled, and rely on their medication shipping to me accurately and on time. Do not use this company.

Call to customer service on 12/10, agent and supervisor advised no connection between customer service and fulfillment. “They ran out”, and I should find a smaller pharmacy, and the supervisor “has to go through the same thing”. 3 months of phone calls to be promised meds, finally, and then told, “sorry, we ran out” via email… How is this even possible? I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the recent transition of our prescription management services to Express Scripts within our company. Since this change, I have encountered a myriad of issues that were nonexistent with our previous provider. Express Scripts has consistently denied prescriptions that were previously approved without any complications by our prior service provider. Furthermore, they have inundated my doctor’s office with a ceaseless barrage of preauthorization requests, stipulating specific language requiring home delivery for medications that are essential for everyday use, such as blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetic medications—none of which are narcotics.
Despite obtaining approval for certain prescriptions, Express Scripts has continually bombarded me with subsequent approval requests, claiming they have reached out to my doctor for additional information. However, they then assert that the prescription cannot be filled due to the lack of response from the doctor. Adding to this frustration, the call center utilized by Express Scripts employs customer service representatives who struggle with English, making effective communication and resolution nearly impossible. Despite investing extensive time on the phone, I have been unable to resolve these issues and obtain the necessary prescriptions. Given the endless hours spent conversing with incomprehensible representatives and the ultimate failure to obtain required medications, I strongly advise against using Express Scripts unless one desires to endure an exorbitant amount of time and frustration.

Updated on 12/20/2023: Well, as a follow-up to my previous two entries, I have still had no resolution. Express Scripts continues to be a totally useless company. Now I am out of blood pressure medicine. They did nothing to try to fill out. Hence I canceled all my home delivery orders with them. I would rather pay for time him out per prescription so I don’t have to deal with these people. Incompetent, no knowledge of anything. Terrible customer service and probably should be out of business. I am filing a formal complaint with the Veterans Administration and TRICARE as these people have no idea how to treat a service member.
Original Review: I’m a retired 20 year Navy veteran. TRICARE and ExpressScripts have gotta be the worst ever. I was taking ** for my psoriasis and had been doing so for six years with no side effects and totally clear. How did the TRICARE decide I don’t need to take it anymore. I need to take ** for two months instead and if that doesn’t work I can go back to **. Where do they get off being my doctor? All they wanna do is inject me with drugs that I don’t need with terrible side effects. And now I can’t get any of my other prescriptions through Express Scripts because they keep putting a stop on it and make me call. I’m to the point where I’m not gonna take anything and just die. It doesn’t matter because these people don’t care. So glad I gave you 20 years of my life.

I ordered 4 routine medications on Nov 11th that still have not been processed over a month later. I am guessing their computer system is glitched because a week after my order my doctor sent in my refills for the next year. One of those they did fill (while still trying to fill the old one) and the others say it's too soon to fill and won't let me order. The remaining 3 scripts of the order from Nov 11th just say delayed. Every time I ask what delayed means I get a different excuse. I've called multiple times now where I've been left on hold for up to 30 minutes or hung up on only to get nowhere.
I was forced to get emergency scripts which are almost gone now. Finally today I told them to just cancel my order. I will have to get my doctor to send new scripts to a retail pharmacy and fight with my insurance on price because they insist that I use Express Scripts. The fact that this company doesn't have a method of filing customer complaints should tell you all you need to know.

Don't have to wait in line behind grandma with her 10 medications or getting their flu/Covid shots. That hurts so much because I needed my medicine by the 7th and now I won’t have it. They stated that there is processing time and they do not like to give a date. I called over 5 times and each time a customer service said something different. Now I will be out of pain medicine, and might end up paying a hospital bill. Updated on 05/30/2024: Here I am again. Still trying to get reimbursed for meds that I had to pay for out of my pocket in 2023. I paid premiums for this insurance starting August 1, 2023 through current. I have tried to file electronically to get reimbursed for prescriptions from October 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023. It is telling the people that are trying to file that my ins was terminated. Not by me. They kept my premium and I got no coverage. Last fall I called both Billing Services and Express Scripts once or twice a week. I thought this was solved but I was mistaken just more lip service. Would love to hear from you again to finally get this solved.
Original Review: I chose to use our company’s COBRA plan when retiring. The medical side has been great but Express Scripts has absolutely provided no coverage that I have been paying for since August 1, 2023. I have had to pay for roughly $700 worth of meds out of my own pocket and the premium I pay Express Scripts. Many, many hours on the phone and hold (would estimate close to if not over 40 hours) I was finally told I had coverage starting November 15, 2023.
I received an email that I would be receiving my prescriptions in the mail on December 1, 2023. It is now December 4, 2023 and no prescriptions. Again was on the phone this am for another 3 hours with a call center that was so loud you couldn’t understand the person. That person again told me I didn’t have coverage… Oh I had coverage but it ended November 30, 2023 but lo and behold they took money out of my account for December. I question this whole company. Accounting - if I don’t have coverage where’s my money you took? You should be sending it back. I think the government should take an internal look at this company and their business practices. Our company conducted audits every year. I couldn’t image being an older person trying to deal with this and the loud call center. Think of all the people that aren’t posting.

I cannot believe how much time I wasted with Express Scripts and I wish I had read these reviews before directing my Dr. to send over my medication. The people who pick up the phones are not well trained in the coordination of benefits with various insurance providers (or at least understand how to navigate to the right person to assist when things get complicated), and the supervisors are incompetent and insensitive, I had one keep me on hold for an hour and then lob the call to an underling who got me right back at the beginning of the problem. The issue and prescription I was calling about never got completed, or filled.
I canceled with them and am moving on. Never again Express Scripts, you've made the process for refilling prescriptions so much more complicated. It appears to be a tone at the top issue and Management probably needs to be replaced with a more effective management team that understands the workflow processes of the key value proposition--which is filling prescriptions in the most expedient manner--one that Express Scripts failed miserably at best--they should change their name!

Once again, they said, SWITCH TO MAIL ORDER - and I sent them my RX and they said it would be here in a week (still not express, but hey, I will try them yet again) - and now, today, I attached the email I received. NO ETA, NO DRUGS, NO EXCUSE for a company.
They ROUTINELY deny diabetes medication, cancel orders, or ask you for more authorizations. They said there's a worldwide shortage of this medication in the reply I received - yet I filed the order SAME DAY at the local WALMART. No problems. (They do not mediate complaints - do not believe any of the reviews that say they do). If you have ANY other options to get your medicines you need, PLEASE try elsewhere. I have finally figured out what it is that they do wrong, and should be illegal. I want to see if there is any legal organization that can help me fight them. I take insulin for diabetes. I use a pen injector. My prescription insurance company requires me to fill prescriptions for 90 day supplies. For me that equals 18 pens. FYI. A box of insulin pens = 5 pens. My doctor, trying to be helpful, writes the script for 3 boxes. But that is 72 days.
So when the pharmacy tries to run the prescription through, the Express Scripts denies the claim with a message says they will only cover a 30 day supply (according to the Express Scripts they can only choose one limited message for the response and for some reason..I think because it misleads everyone and they make money on the penalty fees, they choose this one.) So then my pharmacy runs it at 30 days (which is really 26 days) and it comes back as a $409 copay. But that's REALLY $200 for the 26 day supply and $210 as a penalty fee for not filling it for 90 days (but I should ONLY be liable for $68 as a copay). But since it is called a copay, my pharmacy can use my HSA to pay for it. And also, it does not count towards my deductible or out of pocket max because it's a penalty fee, not a copay from the insurance side.
So If the message said 90 days, then the pharmacy would do the right thing, and I would pay the right amount. But I have to then argue with the Pharmacy that Express Scripts' message is a lie. This seems to me to be a nefarious, maybe fraudulent policy here? Definitely predatory the consumers. And if you have not spent enough time talking to everyone involved and hearing the words that are used, you miss where the fraud is. Because MY HSA should not legally be able to pay for non-refundable penalty fees that are fraudulently presented as a copay for medications that are covered by their policies AND are life threatening to not have access to. I spent HOURS and days on the phone fighting to get my money back last time, and I got the $200 med fee but not the penalty fee. (I was out of my insulin and had no choice but to pay or die.)So now I want to fight the policy. This is wrong, and I know I am not the only one they are doing this to.

Not even the correct medication. Customer service is horrible, standard is to say doctor is incorrect, and call your doctor's office. Unbelievable they can do business in the US sending incorrect medications and no accountability. Will also deny doctors scripts without submitting to insurance company for authorization. Same problem for years, only stuck doing business with them because employer must love their costing over accurate and dependable healthcare.

I have a chronic illness that not only requires daily medications, but specialty infusions every 8 weeks, as well. Countless times over the last 3+ years I’ve been working with Express Scripts through my employer, I have spent hours on the phone trying to get a medication shipment expedited because of a delay (often times, more than a week since placing the order) at the fault of Express Scripts, leading to days without my medication that is essential to my wellbeing.
To me, this is unacceptable and should be taken seriously, as it has not only impacted the condition of my chronic illness, but has caused many sleepless nights and days filled with anxiety due to Express Scripts’ incompetency. These are scenarios that could easily be avoided by using a more trustworthy local pharmacy option. There is no reason people who rely on daily medications should run the risk of missing dosages due to a pharmacy issue when there was more than enough time between ordering and running out of medication.
As seen on their ConsumerAffairs review, Express Scripts has been rated a 1.2 among 3,575 customer reviews due to poor service, indicating that this is a widespread issue for thousands of customers. As recently as this past Thanksgiving weekend, I had ordered a medication the week prior, allowing for 10 days before I was due to run out, and after multiple progress check-in calls on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, I was finally told on Saturday that my attempts to get the order expedited never went through and my only hope was to get a short-term supply (which required a new prescription, something that was not possible to acquire from a doctor over Thanksgiving weekend) or to transfer my prescription entirely to a local pharmacy since I had 1 day of medication left, and that they could put me on with one of their pharmacists so I knew the risks in going without my medication.
Thankfully, there was a local pharmacy that had my medication in stock, but Express Scripts blocked coverage so I had to pay out of pocket for it. Additionally, the lack of communication at Express Scripts is just as harmful as their shipment delays. There have been several times where I was not notified that I needed a prior authorization or that a previous PA had expired until the day before my infusion was scheduled to get delivered, resulting in me missing/delaying dosages that was imperative to my health. Each time this happens, I raise the issue to Express Scripts and request that I am notified of any potential shipment delays prior to the week of delivery, all to no avail. I have done everything in my power to try and raise my concerns, filing complaints to both Express Scripts directly, as well as to the Better Business Bureau to open an investigation. So far nothing has changed and, unfortunately, I doubt it ever will.

I went a week without a very important medication. Then I just got notice that they sent me a prescription that I did not even order. I told them I will refuse the mailed package as I am not paying $125 for something I did not want from them. They said they wouldn’t accept it and if I didn’t pay, my acct would go to collections. This is the absolute worst customer support I have ever received. They are the plague of all pharmacies.
Original Review: Express Scripts is the plague of all pharmacies. I have dropped them before for late deliveries, usually a week after they’re due. Was forced to use them again due to my employer’s contract with them. Again, same issue. I was due a very important medication yesterday, and it won’t be here for another 3-5 days, so I’ll be almost a week without it, despite my doc calling in this script weeks ago. Ridiculous.

Prior Covid I hadn’t had any issues with Express Scripts. However, for the past year there has been an ongoing hassle in ordering my specialty prescription. First, they wouldn’t archive a doctor that was no longer in practice (died) and kept processing the old prescription from that doctor instead of acknowledging a prescription submitted by a new doctor. Multiple phone calls later of my prescription being canceled because they need authorization from a doctor who has died, I had to request that they archive that prescription to notice the new prescription submitted. Of course this delayed my order on a time sensitive medication.
Currently despite changing my shipping address under my account and getting confirmation of that shipping address over the phone, Express Scripts sends my time sensitive syringe medication that needs refrigeration to my former address. They wouldn’t refund or replace my order until management was requested. They told me because it’s a holiday week they probably wouldn’t be able to ship my specialty medication until I miss a dosage. I have continuously ordered my prescription more and more in advance trying to prevent these sorts of mismanaged delays but there’s even a limitation on how soon I can order. I’m fortunate that my life isn’t dependent on my medication however Express Scripts practices can be dangerous for those who do depend on their life saving medications.

Either they get stopped because they need something from my doctor to answer and it seems to get held up for two weeks or more every time. Doesn’t matter whether you really need the medicine or not. They have somehow switched my account from a payment plan to make it more affordable to having to pay for my prescriptions upfront.
Needing 9+ prescriptions it gets overwhelming expensive to have to get 90 day supplies. I miss being able to go to my regular pharmacy and getting my prescriptions. I can’t do that anymore because Express Scripts will make me pay more. I have all my insulin held up now because of who knows why this time. I’m out of insulin but they don’t help just want to transfer me to a pharmacist to talk about what happens when you miss a dose. They don’t help at all. Very frustrating and hard to work with! Express Scripts is by far the most incompetent and dishonest company I've ever dealt with. The manager, Kara, blatantly lied about shipping dates, claiming none existed while the floor workers revealed a different story. Medication shortages are frequent, and they coerce customers into self-incrimination by demanding details about remaining supplies.
Two orders were mysteriously on hold due to issues with my credit card company, of which I was never informed. After resolving the payment problem, promises of next-day shipping proved false. Daily calls resulted in inconsistent stories, with supervisors resorting to verbal gymnastics to avoid accountability. Express Scripts seems to play a dangerous game of never accepting responsibility. When questioned about their obligation to ship, the supervisor had no answer. Despite guaranteeing shipment within 7 days, the reality was a farce. The manager's evasive tactics, word games, and lack of accountability reveal a horrifying truth—Express Scripts is a company that thrives on deception.

It sounds like my experience has been pretty similar to a lot of other patients. Due to the “processing” message that showed up on my account for seven days (and that a very kind customer service rep assured me meant my order would be sent out soon) I am now going through withdrawal from my medication. I had been taking half doses to try to avoid this (my local pharmacy could not get authorization from my insurance to fill a partial prescription because ExpressScripts reported that it was in process, and despite hours on email and the phone with local pharmacies, my psychiatrist, and their godawful phone trees, a pharmacist told me that I should “be cautious” about taking partial doses because I “might still experience some symptoms of withdrawal”. No kidding!
Says my order has been shipped, but I’ll believe it when I see it (and even then it’ll take a while to readjust to my medication after running out completely). I wish I wasn’t required by my insurance to use this pharmacy - its systems are real garbage. I miss my old pharmacist who actually bothered to communicate with his patients, and who would notice and care if we were having any trouble.

Express Scripts appears to me to be the lowest quality pharmacy I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. How is this company still in business? Do they simply run the cheapest lowest quality possible prescription mail order pharmacy (that appears to run on foreign call centers and robocalls) and win the 'lowest bid' for companies that wish to spend as little as possible on employee prescription benefits?
They call you via robocall, provide no information, pass you to a offshore call centers with non-native English speakers who then ask you for your PII (Personally Identifying Information), again without context. At this point, I am thinking, "is this an identity theft scam?". After providing your information to someone who knows nothing about your account or medications, you get transferred to another department where someone (again) asks you for the same personally identifying information (full name and date of birth).
This person is at least able to pull up your account and tell you (sometimes) what the call is about (e.g. counseling with a pharmacist for a new medication). This 2nd person you speak with (3rd if you count the robocall) cannot do anything either except verify who you are (why didn't they get that info from the 1st person you spoke to?) and pass you to the pharmacist. Once you get to a pharmacist (after 2-3 other people plus an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) automated phone system) they may actually be able to help you, if you are lucky.

Express Scripts has been on time for the past half year. It also seems a bit simpler on the refill protocol. Perhaps they are trying to resolve the issues in that process.
Original Review: Nov. 6, 2023
I have had issues with Express Scripts on more than one occasion. Years ago when I first attempted to use them one of my heart medications was incorrectly bottled (I cannot remember what was in the bottle now, but I confirmed with another pharmacy). When I had first called ES to inquire they told me to take it; it was the correct pill just a different look. So imagine my surprise when I was told I was lucky I did not. This was years and years ago, I might add, and I decided not to use them again. Several years pass and they tell me I have no choice with certain meds but to use them. So I switched those meds. I receive one from them that is normally individual pills in a solidified clump at the bottom of the pill container. I call and they advise me to try and break them apart. I said there is no beginning or end. They advised me to cut them into equal pieces and take them. I say no, send me a new one. They did not want to do that.
I reverted back to my local pharmacy after finding out at that time I did not have to switch after all. More years go by (I receive some cold calls from ES trying to get me to switch). I end up on a drug that is a specialty and only ES covers. No problem, but it is. They do not send it on time after starting (this is crucial to taking this medication). There is no perfect timing. You cannot call early to refill because they cannot process it until a certain time. If you call on time then they put it into a process queue. Where it appears to stay for several days (perhaps a week - even if this is a weekly med).
Now after the processing queue is up they have to call you with a delivery date. Here is the weird part. They call you probably 2-4 times, but I have found out that until you get the call for the actual date none of the other calls matter. Then if you call to ask about your meds and let them know you are waiting for the delivery or you are out because of this timing issue. They want to give you to the pharmacist to see if there are over-the-counter things you can do (at least that is what three of the reps have done so far). I have refused the counseling by the pharmacist so I cannot say for sure what they would advise. I do not trust Express Script's remote work-from-home office model to replace my walk-in pharmacy where I see smiling faces and am greeted genuinely not to mention the pharmacist is nearby, if there is a problem it can be addressed immediately and my medication is being filled THAT day.

Prior to the pandemic, my doctor would send my prescription to Express Scripts, and I had it within a couple of days, and I never had to think about it again, because they automatically set me up for auto refill. Fast Forward to now, it took almost two weeks to get my prescription after the doctor sent it, and I was not made aware that I needed to order my prescription to be set up on auto refill, so now I'm out of medication, and I have to wait another two weeks before I'll have more. I am paying over 300.00 for a name brand drug when a 30.00 generic would work just as well. The other part is if I went thru the whole process where my doctor had to justify to them that the name brand drug was needed they still cover very little and so there is no need to even bother. But the automated system just sends out the mail without any thought. Additionally the drug is in short supply so since there is now a generic no one has it in stock. If your HR has foisted Express Scripts onto you, know that you are in for a serious headache. Express-Scripts does one thing - complicate the Doctor-Patient-Pharmacy even worse than it was before they got involved. If your doctor prescribes a drug and calls it into the pharmacy, the pharmacy MAY be allowed to fill that under your coverage. If it is what E-S deems a "maintenance drug" they will NOT fill it at all at a non-CVS or Walgreens pharmacy. You MUST use one of these high-cost pharmacies.
Then, if it is a maintenance drug, if you get it in the prescribed quantity (usually 30 pills), you will be assessed a punitive fee by E-S for not getting it in a quantity of 90 pills. Unless you check this against their online formulary, you will need to return to your doctor and ask them to rewrite the script for 90 pills. The language they'll use is "preferred." This is the "preferred" quantity. This is the "preferred" pharmacy. What they mean is "required." Also, they "prefer" that you order your drugs through the mail, and use these punitive fees to cut out the other pharmacies.
My wife spent half a working day trying to get my son's scripts filled. What they did is they tried to charge my wife $75 for a month's supply of a drug, that would cost $20 for a 90-day supply. There was no explanation at the register -- she needed to know this -- that her drug insurer was assessing her a fee GREATER than the cost of the drug. And how do you know you are buying a "maintenance drug?" That's what I asked when I called on 10/10/2023. The first agent hung up on me. The second agent said I needed to check their online formula OR download their app. DON'T let Express-Scripts rip you off. Demand that your HR contract with another provider. Express-Scripts doesn't want to make you healthy. They want your money -- it's plain and simple.

My wife is going on 6 weeks without medication she needs because ES claims it needs prior authorization for a medication my wife has taken for more than a year, and that it can’t move the authorization forward without information from my wife’s doctor. The same information the doctor has provided every week for the past month (never mind the fact that we were never contacted about the prior authorization issue and only noticed it after checking our account when my wife’s scheduled refill had not arrived). ES’s response was to cancel the order and restart the entire process, claiming they still needed information from the doctor.
Customer service is rude and condescending and won’t do anything to help resolve the issue. They just keep repeating that the doctor needs to provide information and ignoring us when we tell them that it has already been provided multiple times. If any other pharmacy is an option for you, then avoid ES like the plague. This company needs to go out of business and I for one will be contacting Cigna and my employer’s benefits department to encourage them to find another pharmacy partner.

My doctor sent over 2 prescriptions THREE WEEKS AGO. I have called Express Scripts multiple times and they haven’t given me an answer for where my prescription is and why it keeps getting cancelled. My doctor then proceeded to have it sent over twice more, called express scripts and then FINALLY weeks later I only received one of the prescriptions and the second was cancelled again. This company is trash and clearly doesn’t care about people at all. I feel helpless as I don’t know how else to get my medication and have made so many phone calls with no solution provided.

Today, I received a text message from Express Scripts advising me to complete my infilled order for Lantus insulin injection pens. The pens are sold in boxes of 5 pens. One box of 5 pens will last me 90 days, however the Express Scripts order that could not be edited online specified sending me 3 boxes (i.e., 15 pens), for the 90-day period. I phoned Express Scripts hoping to edit the order and reduce it to only 1 box for the 90 day supply. It took many repeated attempts via the phone to finally reach a human. When I explained my needs, I was told that I could get either 3 boxes for $105 or 1 box for $92. The agent said that Express Scripts could do nothing else and that I would be better off going to my local pharmacy for a single box of Lantus injector pens.
The agent was unable to explain why Express Scripts was unable to modify my order for a 90 day supply equal to 1 box of pens. After making several unsuccessful attempts to obtain understanding from the Express Scripts agent, I finally gave up. The agent asked if there was anything else she could do for me. I said, “Yes. Please remove all of my open prescriptions from your system. I’ll do business with someone else.”

Clearly their policy and guideline is to repeatedly deny prescriptions with the hope that people get so fed up that they give up. Either that or by delaying again and their number crunchers have calculated that they get some saving. Probably both. This is all about money and all at the cost of the consumer. They clearly do not take into account the medical history. I’ve had them deny a medication for prior authorization again and again - even one month since the last time the dr sent in their required authorization. They claim they reach out to my dr to no avail but he refutes that as a bold-faced lie. My dr is beyond frustrated with when - which I think is their idea again to save money by getting people to give up - when the dr can finally chase them down and get them what is “required”, they then deny it for a completely different reason. Delay and deny. Policy and money over people.
They are terrible to work with- they have all the power- and there is no reasoning or logic. If I had any choice I would never use them. I’ve never dealt with a company that is either this incompetent or corrupt in their policies. I believe it’s the latter. They know what they are doing to screw the consumer and save a buck and it’s simply wrong.

I tracked the package - it said delivered. However, my Ring cam confirms that no delivery was made to my address at all on the day that it says it was delivered.
I contacted Express Scripts and let them know that I was waiting on my medication as I am leaving town tomorrow and need it filled. They let me know that as far as they are concerned, I received my medication and am not eligible for any kind of replacement. So, I paid for a month of medication and have nothing and they do not have a solution for me. Due to no fault of my own, and despite the fact that I paid for this medication AND pay for insurance coverage, I will be suffering through migraines for a month. Never again. I was told it was canceled and my doctor needed to call in a new prescription. My doctor contacted ES on the 15th to fill prescription. I contacted ES again because I was concerned the prescription would arrive while I was away. I scheduled script to be filled and shipped immediately. I then received notification the prescription would fill and ship on 10/2. Right when I am away. I called and questioned the plan and received a horrible response from customer service. It is now 2 weeks later and still no prescription, even after calling several times and being promised that they put a rush on it and that it is being filled and sent for next day delivery. Updated on 09/20/2023: Tried to respond on this app, but it says WAITING FOR RESPONSE - but won't let me type more. So now that I posted a bad review, Express Scripts reached out THE SAME DAY while I've been waiting for help on their app for a week. I sent the email they requested - still only received an email saying they're researching. Well, they sent the RX once already, so how do I need prior authorization when my insurance covered it the first time? Also, they just delay and say they're waiting for additional information so they can cancel the order. I scrolled down on my order history -- RX from doctor, they say they're investigating coverage or waiting for doctor reply -- then they say they never hear back and they STOP or CANCEL the order. They have done this 3 times for this rx for Dexcom 7 sensors for my diabetes -- 3 times my doctor sends the RX, 3 times they have stopped or canceled the order.
Original Review: I have Type 2 Diabetes. Express Scripts KNOWS this as they've been charging me for my medicine for years. Yet, when I got the Dexcom Sensors prescribed, they asked for PRIOR AUTHORIZATION to see if my plan pays (yet, they have already filled the RX 90 days prior). NOW, they're doing it again, dragging on the approval that my doctor has sent in to them THREE TIMES NOW and I'm out of sensors and unable to check my blood sugar. SO, all the progress I made in the past 90 days (when they sent the sensors that NOW they want to authorize YET AGAIN) is gone, and I have no idea what my sugar levels are.
They do not care about the customer, and they routinely "can't reach my doctor" so they can cancel prescriptions. Yet, my doctor sends them and they get into the system somehow....But then get cancelled or delayed. Then when I use the local WALMART (cheaper and faster, but not 90 days supply) they routinely send me emails saying they'd save me money if I'd switch to mail delivery -- and then when I try, this is what happens. FAIL.

I'd like to start by saying Express Scripts is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They do not keep notes of past conversations, so it's like starting over again, and they bounce you from department to department having to go through the whole scenario over and over. They have a rule that they will only stay on the line with a doctor's office for 8 minutes, even if you are going to run out of a very critical medication. The doctor's office will turn in a prescription, and then they want a follow up call or email from the Doctor stating that they did indeed want the patient to get the medication. Now why would they need the Doctor to do this on every medication, even when Express Scripts has been providing this medication for several years! They owe me hundreds of dollars due to their mistakes, and they deny all correspondence by mail. Check with your insurance carrier to make sure they don't use Express Scripts before choosing your insurance policy.

Received my rx 2 weeks after it was sent to Express Scripts. The only way Tricare will pay for my specific medication is to fill through express scripts. No, there wasn’t a shortage or supply chain issue. The delay in filling required me to restart a 30 day cycle of the medication before I can increase the dose of my DIABETES medication. After speaking with the pharmacist I was able to get a one time waiver to be able to fill an interim rx at my local pharmacy. But in order for me to get said interim rx, I had to pay for another drs visit. Miraculously my local Rite Aid was capable of filling my interim rx in one day, like any other pharmacy in the US. Thank you Tricare and express scripts for making the simple process of filling prescriptions inefficient. This lapse cost me $82 for another doc visit, and Tricare $940 for an additional month of medication.

I was prompted to set up a delivery for medication, and I informed Express Scripts, known to me as Accredo, that I needed to know how much it was going to cost before I consented to the shipment. I was told an estimate of $1,908 and that it could be adjusted once my insurance, Regence, was contacted, and the copay amount confirmed. We set up a tentative shipment date of March 8, 2023, reassured that I could cancel. The medication arrived at my doctor's office, The Portland Clinic, on February 28, 2023, unknown to me until they called to set up an appointment for injection.
I refused as I was never told how much I would owe if I went forward with the injection. I attempted to call Regence myself for an estimate but they were not able to give me one without a Diagnosis Code, Procedure Code, Provider Name, an A J Code, and whether it was considered a therapeutic injection. No one was able to provide me with this information. Sometime after June 6, 2023, I received a bill from Express Scripts for $1,563.32.
After countless communication between myself and Express Scripts, The Portland Clinic, and Regence, Express Scripts found me not at fault for the amount owed on July 31, 2023: saying that the employee I spoke with should not have said that the amount due could be adjusted after it was shipped, because once it is shipped, an invoice is created, the claim was sent to the insurance company, so the amount quoted to me would be my copay and I would be responsible, but failed to let me know, only continued to send me bills and ask for payment every time I called. As of September 8, 2023 I cannot get a turnaround time for when the amount will be charged off, and I keep receiving bills in the mail.

Every new prescription is a nightmare to get approval for and to get it shipped. Typical trick: "there is a conflict with the way the doctor prescribed the medication." When the fabricated conflict is resolved, then "this medication is not approved." There are many other excuses by this pharmacy. I'm beginning to think that CIGNA, the parent company, reimburses a portion of the price of the medication if Express-Scripts succeeds in finding an excuse not to dispense the medication. Why else would a pharmacy refuse to fill a prescription? The question is: how far are CIGNA and Express-Scripts going to be allowed to continue their abuse? How far?

Express Scripts, owned by publicly-traded Cigna, is one of the three largest pharmacy benefit managers in the U.S. In theory, their mail-order fulfillment business should run just like Amazon.com—medications are automatically delivered to patients timely. The reality is half this. If you have a basic run-of-the-mill prescription that doesn’t require refrigeration or is some sort of medical supplies, you may find success with Express Scripts. However, if you have more complicated medications, such as a diabetic supplies or insulin, you would be better off avoiding Express Scripts. The support agents are always cheerful, but the moment an issue comes up they turn into agents demonstrating a Comcast-esk level of incompetence.
I used Express Scripts for multiple years until I realized that like clockwork, every time there was a complication it would be incumbent on me to act as the middleman between the doctor’s office and Express Scripts to resolve very basic things. My doctor’s office noted that Express Scripts puts up inane bureaucratic hurdles for them, often devolving into faxes (FAXES?!?) having to be signed and sent, and then daily calls by me to make sure Express Scripts processed them so I wouldn’t die. Other issues involved them inappropriately sending medications costing over $1,000 via methods such as UPS’s SurePost which explicitly states it is not for use for “non-urgent” and “low-value” shipping needs. It took over five calls and two escalations for them to stop shipping expensive medications using this method to me.
Additionally, Express Scripts prices are no longer the most competitively priced after the acquisition. It’s worth shopping around using your health plans Rx pricer or GoodRx.com. Bottom line is that unless you have non-urgent, basic pill-based medications, you and your life will be far better off working with a local pharmacy, and ideally one that your doctor’s office regularly works with.

I've spent the last several months and many hours lost from work dealing with both Aetna and Express Scripts. I've lost income as a result of having to call Aetna and Express Scripts over and over again. Aetna's website, as well as its Customer Service agents, have informed me many times that my annual deductible had been met as of several months ago. Express Scripts, on the other hand, informed me that my deductible had not been met and thus it would cost me $884 for one prescription.
Express Scripts does not provide an email address or provide a secure member portal to contact them. Members have to call Express Scripts but the customer service representatives are never able to understand the issue. Thus, I have been UNABLE TO REFILL ANY PRESCRIPTIONS for months due to the exorbitant costs that Express Scripts would have charged me. I’ve made NUMEROUS calls and emails, including a 3-way call that I set up with Aetna and Express Scripts.
Aetna finally called me back yesterday and informed me that because Express Scripts had not updated my records, my deductible has not been met and "since the medical providers have already been paid, you will need to keep going to medical appointments for the rest of the year and pay out of pocket." Always the same response, "I don't know what the other agent told you." I actually believe stupidity is rewarded at this company, there is no other way to explain why they are the epitome of ineptitude. This company could actually make a weatherman look good, and we all know how wrong they are.

Express Scripts time and time again refuses the prescriptions that my doctors order. They force the doctors to prescribe alternative meds and make them write justifications. Then they finally approve the alternative and it turns out nobody has the meds and Express Scripts tells me to ask my doctor for another alternative. Hey how about not getting between me and my doctor and just give be the meds he prescribed in the first place. On top of that incompetence they shut off doing business with all the independent pharmacies in the country. This means my mother has to travel 20 miles now to get her meds when she used to just go a couple miles to her local pharmacy. This company is literally killing people with their incompetence and greed. Anyone that says gov't healthcare is great never had private insurance. I understand their model is to move people to mail order and make things a nightmare. What blows my mind is that if you attempt to move to mail order and it fails and you don't receive your prescriptions, it's on you. The first time I tried, it sat in pending status for over a week and never provided a reason for the failure. I still had a few refills left thankfully. So I tried again a month later, this time they claimed they tried to reach my doctor and they never responded, but when I asked for the method of contact, the story kept changing, because I've never had my doctor fail to respond. So was skeptical of the story.
Ultimately, despite never having asked for an exception, they refused to give me one and basically told me my only option with them was to wait. So Express Scripts considers going off your meds an acceptable option. Ultimately, thank God there is GoodRX, and I will say that the recent ads showing why people with coverage still use it hit the nail on the head. Express Scripts is a garbage carrier, and if you don't want to just go off your meds, you best not be relying on Express Scripts.
I think when they talk about Medical Crisis, this kind of stuff needs to be folded in there, Express Scripts doesn't care whether you remain medicated and healthy, or if you have to skip meds for weeks. They are just concerned that you strictly adhere to their boneheaded processes and don't expect small accommodations, and basically their bottom line.

The amount of times my family and I have had to go without our medication because ExpressScripts insists on mailing it, so that's going take a few weeks, and I can't get them locally because Eff me, right? I can just die. Thanks ExpressScripts. Then they have the audacity to show me how much money I'm saving. That's how much I was paying before ExpressScripts got involved. I'm not saving any money, they just charge me more if I don't buy through them. The worst part is, you call them and you speak with people who have absolutely no experience in the medical field, they're not pharmacists or pharmacy techs, they're just random call center workers.
At least when I go to the local pharmacy I deal with pharmacy techs who know what they're talking about. Typically an issue that would take 5 minutes to resolve at my local pharmacy requires that I spend 2 hours on the phone with ExpressScripts, getting put on hold, transferred, hung up on, over and over. The billions of dollars this company is making from regular hard working Americans' suffering is ostentatious! The fact that I can't switch to an insurance that doesn't use ExpressScripts, is a violation of anti trust laws. I'm appalled that they have not been taken to court over this yet.

I have had the sorrow of being forced to use Express Scrips as a result of being a military dependant. I am a type 2 diabetic with the condition having worsened over the last several years. About 6 weeks ago, my doctor prescribed “**” in addition to insulin and metformin to treat my diabetes. Express Scripts declined this medication but suggested ** instead. This was agreeable to me and my doctor and we requested this prescription.
Express Scripts has filled one month of Trulicity for me. My doctor informed me that she gave to Express scripts specific and standard instructions for titration of ** dosage for monthly renewal prescriptions. This order is in accordance with best medical practices and as suggested by the manufacturer for best patient results. Express Scripts refused to do this and is currently requiring a new prescription each month - a complete waste for all parties.
I am utterly appalled that Express Scripts denied a prescription for **, but suggested ** instead and then caused a 5 week delay in filling this prescription all the while harassing me with e-mails and my doctor with requests for unnecessary requests for information and clarification on a standard prescription. This is typical behavior from the PBM giant that serves only them to increase profits while leaving patients hanging without necessary medication for their health issues.
This is not the first time I have encountered negative and irresponsible behavior from Express Scripts. Several years ago, Express Scripts refused a pill for diabetes, prescribed by my doctor in Colorado. Instead, Express Scripts insisted that I be prescribed “**” from which I had a serious reaction causing a ROARING UTI which required antibiotics to clear up.
All PBM's have special deals with Pharma companies for special pricing and reimbursements. Further the PBM is encouraged by financial compensation to favor one drug over another as demonstrated in the above paragraph. I recommend that all patients avoid Express Scripts Pharmacy entirely even if your prescriptions cost a bit more.

How many fake reviews are there for the rating to be over 3? The expression "Misery loves company" comes to mind when looking through these reviews. I hate that everyone else is dealing with this joke of a company, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one. I had some major health issues beginning in November 2019. Since then, I have been prescribed the same medication. Somehow, every time I had to order a refill on one particular drug was difficult. The others were nice and easy, but they are also cheap, so that makes sense. The one medication is expensive, so of course there are difficulties. Strange that the expensive drug is the one you have to jump through hoops for.
This year has been on another level. I had been out of this medication for 3 months. Express Scripts blamed my doctor, as they always had, so I went out and found a new primary to remedy the situation. That doctor's office also sent in the prescription, then 2 weeks later, the order was cancelled because they had no response from the doctor. I had them send it again, nothing. I finally had a specialist send in the order and it was finally completed. Two doctors in a row have issues with communication with this company, the problem is the company.
Now I've been dealing with the side effects of missing my medication for that length of time. It's time I'll never get back and it has without questions shortened my life, but at least they saved a few bucks. If having this insurance was up to me, I'd have quit it in a week. They get away with this because employers pay for it and they don't care either. I'm researching legal action, however I know how the track record of suing insurance companies looks. I am not hopeful.

After the third call I finally found out it was ONE ingredient they were refusing to pay for--the base material for the dissolving sublingual. Not only is it a 3rd as expensive, but I can accomplish it without having to argue, appeal, pre-authorize, or have either my Dr. or pharmacy make numerous phone calls or fill out written justifications to this 3rd party bureaucracy. Purposeful or not, what Express Scripts seems best at is to find ways to deny or overcharge for medications so that insured individuals will simply pay for their medications themselves, as I have chosen to do. If I could rate them a -10...I would!

My company switched insurance providers, and ES was the "recommended" on-line partner. I created an account online. No matter what medication I requested, it was refused. Told me it wasn't covered. Not true. Spent a couple of hours being passed about on the phone. Finally found someone who told me that the refusals were either because the insurance said it was too soon to reorder, or because I didn't have a prescription on record. Turns out the only way to get one is to have the doctor fax it in. Pills arrived a week later than they promised. Website has no record of my order, so I can't refill or check next due date. Worst online prescription site ever. Full of lies (they do *not* contact your doctor) and misinformation. Half of customer services is clueless.

The insulin order was placed on May 28, 2005. They told me I had to wait until June 5. It is now June 12 and my insulin order is still "processing." The reps showed me no concern for my dire situation, just an update that proved that nobody did anything to expedite my order. At this point, it would appear that a trip to the E/R will get me some insulin. I would advise anyone who needs life-sustaining medicine to avoid Express Scripts completely.

They don’t really want you to talk to anybody. If your medications get too low and you don’t notice tough luck because it could be two weeks before you get a refill.
Recently I ordered a refill one week before I ran out. At the end of seven days I had to travel to another city. I was out of this medication and couldn’t sleep the first night. I called my doctor and ask if he would approve an emergency Prescription for five days until I got back home to get my mail. He did, but Walgreens wouldn’t fill it saying that the insurance company wouldn’t approve it because Express Scripts had already billed them for the same prescription. When I spoke to someone there, they made sure to hang up on me so that I couldn’t leave a review of their service. These people are playing with our health and our lives. But you know what? Spent 2 weeks without medication that time. This time, I decided to have them delivered and paid for 1 day shipping. We are now over 24 hours since I placed my order and it hasn't even gone to processing yet. I cancelled the order and leave town in 5 days. Unlike a regular retail pharmacy, you cannot refuse the shipment. Express Scripts just fills the Rx & do not request confirmation from the Patient. If a Provider prescribes a medication & then changes the dose or directions, you are stuck paying for something you don't need. Also, a 30 day supply cost the same as a 90 day supply but they state there re no shipping costs!
Meds are sent through the mail with absolutely no regard to the temperatures during the shipping process or at the receiving end. We received a cream that was supposed to be below 85 degrees F. The day it arrived was a very hot day & the temp in the mailbox was closer to 95 degrees F. Since the mail arrives around 10am & we don't return from work till 4pm it is going to get hot. If meds are going to be shipped in extreme weather, they need to have some kind of packaging that will offer some kind of insulation. What if it was Insulin? Of course, you call & no-one can do anything you have to accept that the med is now non-effective or not as effective & it cannot be returned. This is a disgraceful system & extremely disappointing to the consumer.

I have used Express Scripts Mail Order Pharmacy for many years. It is also the chosen Mail order Pharmacy for Those with Tricare and various other insurance companies. I reached out to Express Scripts last Thursday because of a medication I have been on for years that had not made it to me via UPS 2nd day air (all my meds come UPS 2nd Day air). I always get notifications of when I need my meds filled (I forget sometimes). Express Scripts every time they fill and ship, I always get a notification about it and can track if need be. This medication happens to be a controlled substance (currently I am prescribed 3 medications that are Controlled).
There has also been a medication shortage over the past year, but this is not the issue at hand. My provider has not changed for many many years also. I’ve never gotten early fills and just recently received my first emergency fill of this controlled medication for a week’s supply to hopefully hold me over until my medication comes via UPS 2nd day air. (Much less any emergency supplies at all.)
Express Scripts states that they shipped my medication in question on April 27th. I had another medication filled the same day and it looks like it shipped around the same time and that one made it to me no issues. Now this second one has not made it, no tracking information besides “Label has been created.” No scans no Nothing. It is now 5/9 and it still hasn’t been scanned or made to me. I contacted Express last Thursday because usually my medication especially controlled get here within a day or two of me needing them which is perfect and has been great. When I first called about this inquiry, I was told it was potentially lost. They started to contact my doctor to contact them so they could get the medication filled out to me, because it should of made it by now and hasn’t. So I contacted my provider and they proceeded to tell her it is not lost but taking longer than expected.
I had spoken to another representative from Express Scripts on 5/7. She was kind, understanding and polite. It did not make any sense it hadn’t arrived either or had not been scanned besides it saying “Label was created at xx time”. I was asked to contact UPS and contact them on that status the next day. I called UPS and they stated they don’t have it in their possession and that only a label was created, no nothing. No scans. Nada. I called back on 5/8 like I was advised to do and I was put on with a Express Scripts rep who was rude, nasty and flat out said, "No. I won’t read the notes, this medication is controlled" and told me I’d have to wait it out until it comes. She made me feel like it was an inconvenience to call about this issue because this medication is a controlled substance.
Now while I did receive an emergency supply for 7 days … I will be in the same boat again at the end of this week. This isn’t a new medication for me, I’ve been on it for some years now. I felt uncomfortable calling to address this issue to begin with because of the stigma behind certain medications especially. She kept telling me UPS had to have it because it was scanned. No lady, it had NOT been scanned at all and hasn’t moved at all since the label was created. She offered to provide me with a tracking number because it seemed like I was getting the run around and she kept saying that she was correct and what I was saying was not the case.
I asked to speak with someone else because the rep on the phone just kept deflecting saying there was nothing she could say or do. I did speak with a gentlemen after that diabolical, none of this had made sense to him either as to why it has been at a stand still for 12 days now, has not been scanned or nothing. Obviously this is not my fault, but it is a problem.
There are some people who seek out certain medications, but obviously this is not the case here. I am just trying to get what the next steps are so I can get my medication and receive it. Because right now I am waiting for a rep to hopefully call me back but hasn’t happened yet. I’m upset at how these reps treat people like addicts. It is their job to make sure I receive my medication, and right now no one knows what’s going on, and it’s uncanny. Ups says they don’t have it. I don’t have it and Express Scripts is saying UPS has it but cannot prove it was scanned in or at all much less.
I switched to mail order because it is convenient due to the number of medications we pick up from the pharmacy and my doctor can also fill 90 day supplies for most of my medication. It keeps me out of the pharmacy a dozen plus times a month also. It is also a cost savings for my family. Plus it is also a struggle talking to people in general, much less something of this matter.

As an Aetna member I have had no choice but to use Express Scripts. I have had nothing but problems trying to get prescriptions filled. When my MD prescribes a medication that should be enough. They make the patient and provider jump through multiple hoops only to deny the patient. This results in frustration, time wasted and emotional hardship. This company lacks integrity and transparency. This company is a clear representation of the failure of the healthcare system.

Updated on 05/24/2023: "YES, it is lost. " That is what I was told is the resolution to my case. Fedex picked up my schedule 2 narcotic medication from Express Scripts mail service. The package disappeared pretty much right as fedex took custody of it. Obviously these meds are under high security and must be signed for by each employee. Fedex knows who had it last. So, my meds along with ALL of my PERSONAL information is in someone's hands. Obviously, this is an extremely upsetting situation. My security is at RISK. Fedex has done nothing in regards to this theft. I am filing a police report to start with. Calling the DEA next. Be very wary when trusting fedex with scheduled narcotics.
Original Review: Every single month I go through a huge hassle to get my meds on time. Today was especially shocking. The representative had me on SPEAKER PHONE and was asking for my personal info including birth date, address and names of meds!!! I could hear other people and her TV was on!!! Can you say HIPAA VIOLATION! Naturally my issue was not resolved and I will again be out of meds tomorrow. I spoke TO FIVE supervisors and got FIVE different stories. This company is pathetic and should be shut down. People are suing EXPRESS SCRIPTS for inability to obtain meds, therefore having to cancel business trips etc. Total mess. Go elsewhere. I'm contacting someone today. I'm so outraged.
