I just switched from the pharmacy I’ve been using for thirty years. Lately I’ve been experiencing problems with getting my prescription from my old pharmacy. Yet they claimed that it was due to demand that they couldn’t get my prescription. I called CVS and asked if I could get it filled through them, they got back to me within a half hour, and told me that they could get my prescription filled immediately. I am so happy for CVS helping me with this issue. Every month I had to wait about three weeks to get my prescription filled at my old pharmacy. And my copay is half at CVS.

I called CVS Caremark last month when the a non-CVS pharmacy denied coverage for a prescription. I escalated the call to a manager. Explained the situation (long story short): CVS NEVER has the prescription I need. It is consistently backordered. So I asked to switch it to a pharmacy that had it in stock. The manager kept insisting that I had to use CVS pharmacies. Finally she asked if I would prefer the 90 day mail order supply. I said that would be great, as long as I can actually get the prescription.

I am currently out of that prescription and used their website to see the status of that mail order she said she put in for me. Non-existent. She never did it. Now I don't have the prescription, and per usual, it's out of stock locally. When I look at how much money comes out of the paycheck to cover health and prescription benefits vs the non-existent service they provide, I am in disbelief that they are still in business. What am I paying for?

I have to join their company’s 9amHealth, provide a bunch of medical info, and have their doctors write the prescription, which they have yet to do. This should be a violation of my medical privacy as well as as a fraud from Anthem. I pay for the top tier policy solely so I can choose my own providers - ones I trust and know. I ordered a prescription refill from CVS Caremark and shortly after noticed that my space number was not correct, I tried to contact them to ask what I could do. They had me chat online and they stated that it would be no problem over and over again. I provided my correct space number. After the chat I checked to see if it had been changed and it was still incorrect so I went on to the site and was able to change it myself. And my medication was still delivered to the wrong space number, I called to talk to someone to get some help. That person was not able to do anything for me so another person got on the line and right away stated that it was my provider's fault that my space number was incorrect, I have had the same provider for years. They know my address, she stated that I would need to use another refill and pay for it.

Then they would give me a refund if after they investigated the claim and it was true that I did not receive my medication, no we are sorry or checking what was said on the chat conversation, after several messages I am still left without a 3-month supply of the medication. I am out the money that I paid and one less refill, this company's chat site, customer service and the attitude of the people I talked to is junk. I have ordered from Optum and my medication was always on time and never got lost, I will never order from this place and however many family and friends I can educate about how I was treated when I called by the two people and the zero outcome of my complaint so they do not make the mistake of ordering from this company.

I had insurance coverage, but CVS Caremark did not cover my medications as expected. Now they are telling me that I need to submit claims for all the medications that were previously not covered. This process has been extremely frustrating and exhausting. What’s even more concerning is that they **don’t even have records of the prescribed medications on their end**. This is alarming, because obtaining this information should be straightforward if they are properly connected to my insurance—especially since **CVS Caremark is my pharmacy through my insurance**. It’s disappointing to have insurance and still struggle to access necessary medications. The experience has made me question who was essentially taking the money that should have gone toward covering my prescriptions.

Based on my experience, I would give **0 stars** for:

    * Customer service
    * Speed of resolving issues
    * Careless and unhelpful phone representatives

    * Overall service quality

Unless this company significantly improves both their technical systems and customer service, I would be surprised if they continue operating the same way over the next five years. I also plan to ask coworkers about their experiences with this impractical and unreliable service.

If you have a choice don't use CVS Caremark. They control the doctors and customers and do not care about helping. I was forced to switch from Optum to CVS by my insurance. Optum was amazing. CVS so far has been a nightmare to deal with. They "lost" my prescription, after they had called me a month prior to my refill date to set everything up and make sure it would be refilled on time. They told me they would call back a week prior to needing the refill to get it sent. They never did, so I called them. They tried to tell me that they never had it, but I had the emails from them showing that they initiated setting up the account and refills. They claim they reached out to my doctor, twice, for a new prescription, even though the one that transferred had refills left, but that my doctor never replied. My doctor claims to have never received it. They finally "found" my prescription and agreed to fill it. I got an email saying the order was complete and would be shipped, but the next day they call me to go over the same things again that had already been gone over twice.

Apparently in all of the previous calls they didn't mention that they had to have a credit card on file before being able to ship anything. They finally agree to ship it, but neglected to tell me that a signature is required (Optum had the option not to). Had they mentioned that, I would have had it shipped to my work, but once it was shipped it could only be changed to have it held at a FedEx location on the same route as where I live--which is not close to my house and the opposite direction of work. The person at the counter of where it was held said that CVS was supposed to send me a QR code allowing for the package to be released to me, but they never did. They texted, called and emailed me saying I just needed an ID. The guy wasn't going to give it to me, but after a half-hour of trying to figure out a way to do so, he just agreed to let me have it.

Overall, it took over a week, 6 phone calls, and a fax from my doctor directly to them to get the prescription filled. It arrived 3 days after my last dose ran out, so I missed those days. They also shipped it in a giant cooler box, after telling me it required no refrigeration. Unlike Optum, they don't use recyclable materials for the cooler or ice packs. Optum uses frozen plant food and natural fiber insulation, while CVS ships in a non-recyclable foam cooler. I had asked if I could avoid all of the packaging by just picking it up in-person at a CVS near where I work and I was told it is packaged in a cooler regardless of where it is picked up. Expensive and wasteful! I would submit the receipt to prove that I'm a verified buyer, but that part of their useless web portal is down.

First, we are forced to use CVS Specialty Pharmacy for certain prescriptions. CVS claims this model is more cost-effective, but in reality it has resulted in higher costs for customers than using other pharmacies. Being required to use an in-house pharmacy while paying higher out-of-pocket costs feels unfair and misleading.

Second, customer service has been an ongoing issue. Each time we call for support, we encounter long hold times and representatives who seem unable to resolve even basic issues. We are frequently told that accounts cannot be located, systems are having problems, or that the representative has been dealing with the same issues all day. Calls often end without a clear resolution, requiring us to start over with another representative later. Between higher prescription costs and unreliable customer support, CVS Caremark has added unnecessary stress and expense to managing our healthcare. I have CVS Caremark coverage as part of an Anthem BCBS plan. Never in my life have I run into so many problems with prescription coverage in a single year. I'm on several very routine medications, and they have forced me to change three of them to products that are less convenient or don't work as well. They flat out rejected coverage for a prescription for an urgent medical problem that was even on their list of conditions to cover it. When I complained, they told me I could file an appeal that would be answered within 30 days - as if it is reasonable to wait that long when you need medication for an acute illness.

Either way, a script was filled but wasn't able to be picked up. While on the phone I asked for the script to be filled but transferred to a location near me to be picked up.

The rep insisted that I MUST fill the script and pick it up at the original pharmacy location. Then, further stated that, otherwise, a transfer would take 3-5 business days, which made less than ZERO sense. [This is for a maintenance med, mind you.] So I asked "what if I'd relocated to the another part of the country, would I need to fly back to pick it up? Proximity was not a part of the conversation, this person was just not thinking at all. The response? Crickets. Literally, dead silence. I felt like I was being trolled hard so I requested escalation to someone with the authority to think independently. At the end of the day, it's night. I got it done but the rabbit hole they forced me down was the definition of insanity. If I could opt out, I wouldn't patronize CVS for a pack of gum.

Their app, which they prefer you use over other means of contact, is buggy, unreliable, and constantly under maintenance or “connectivity issues” without explanation. My wife went to the ER with active vomiting symptoms, she got administered an IV to rehydrate and some anti-nausea meds were administered during the 4-hour visit. The doctor ordered anti-nausea prescriptions through CVS Caremark for Tamiflu and Promethazine. Her symptoms remained stable for the first 24 hours so we didn’t fill the prescriptions. Today her nausea returned and she tried to fill her Promethazine script (she opted to not use Tamiflu) only to discover that the ER staff sent the prescriptions to CVS Caremark for MAIL ORDER FULFILLMENT…and the eta for the anti-emetic medication to arrive is January 3-6!!!

Is it obvious to say that a person needing immediate relief from nausea and vomiting can’t wait 7-9 days for a mail-order prescription to arrive? CVS Caremark (844-443-4279) told me that with my wife’s consent, they’ll cancel the mail order and facilitate a transfer of the script to my retail pharmacy. I asked careful follow-up questions of the CVS phone agent to double check that we weren’t canceling the PRESCRIPTION ITSELF, merely the mail order delivery method. Once the agent reassured me that was the case, I got my sick wife on the phone to give verbal consent to cancelling the mail order.

About 15 minutes later, my local pharmacy called CVS Caremark to effectuate the script transfer. The agent told my pharmacist Sorry, THE PATIENT CANCELLED THE SCRIPT. Tell them to contact their doctor for NEW SCRIPT. FALSE! FALSE!! FALSE!!! 4 hours later, we are still slogging through multiple phone calls to weekend providers and pharmacy tech to generate a new script as the patient continues to battle vomiting/nausea without the aid of the PROMETHAZINE script that the ER doc wrote. Conversation with CVS Caremark occurred 12/27 11:15 am eastern time. Patient’s DOB is ** and their name is **.

It is extremely frustrating to deal with this vendor. My insurance requires me to use this vendor for cost savings, and the vendor requires 90-day mail-order prescriptions. Every time I refill, they ship via USPS. My most recent order was filled on December 5, but as of today, December 22, I still have not received the package. USPS tracking shows that it is currently in Alaska.

I have called CVS Caremark more than five times. Each time, they either tell me to contact USPS or suggest that I ask my doctor to send the prescription to a local pharmacy. I explained that I did this last time, and as a result, I had to pay extra out of pocket. I also mentioned that my previous mail-order delivery took more than three weeks, and I asked whether it would be possible to refill my prescription earlier to avoid running out. The answer was no. I do not understand why they cannot use a more reliable shipping service such as FedEx, or allow an early refill when delays are clearly recurring. Instead, I am expected to repeatedly contact my doctor and pay additional out-of-pocket costs. Meanwhile, they have no hesitation in collecting my monthly insurance premium.

It has been anything but that. CVS has left a gap in my medication for 2 prescriptions that are not negotiable for my health. The link provided to the CVS app is different from the one connected to my insurance company and hard to access, even though I’m computer savvy. And the customer support overall is abysmal. I have had to get my doctor to send a prescription to my local pharmacy to cover the gap between delivery times and pay for them out of pocket. This is a great way to save the companies money by eeking out medication with gaps. I’m sure it adds to their profits at the expense of their patients. But it shouldn’t have to be that hard.

I worry that those who don’t have the ability to navigate through the system or don’t have the good fortune to have an excellent doctor who is easy to reach and responsive. This has created extra work for me, my doctor, and the customer support team of my insurance company. CVS provides an AI generated messaging service if I can find their website. For starters, I only write reviews when an experience is exceptionally bad — and this one earned it. They get one star only because the system requires at least that, and I’m sure most people feel the same. This was hands down the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. While trying to register a new account, the website rejected my (standard-format) phone number, offered no guidance, and then locked me out after two attempts with a 30-minute timeout. Several fields were prefilled but still required manual clicking — as a software developer, I’ve never seen interns produce something this poorly designed.

Calling support didn’t help. First, I navigated a menu asking whether I was a member, doctor, or pharmacist, only to be dumped into an AI agent that made me re-enter everything. Then I was transferred to a “human” representative who sounded like a text-to-speech engine. They repeatedly mispronounced my name and needed me to spell every detail multiple times — I had to spell my name more than five times alone. I’m exhausted by this dystopian, low-effort future we ended up stuck to. If I had a choice of providers, this would be a hard no. At this point, CVS is firmly relegated to “meds only” in my book.

I have spent hours and hours which equate to days on the phone with them! I have Blue Cross Blue Shield for medical and Caremark for my prescription coverage. This is insurance through my employer, so that is what I have. For the last over a year and a half almost 2 years I have been fighting them. I’ve had some surgeries and health issues and maxed out my out-of-pocket both in 2024 and at the end of January 2025. Since that time I will go to pick up a prescription at Walgreens and when they submit it to Caremark, even though my prescriptions are supposed to be zero right now, I will get random charges on various prescriptions of mine. It is never the same prescription that has the charge. I may have a couple that are zero and then I will get a charge on another one at the same time.

Every time I call, I have to go through the story again. I have dealt with managers, upper escalation, multiple audits, and Blue Cross on the phone with me while we are trying to explain it to them that I met my out of pocket. They have received multiple letters from Blue Cross telling them I have met my out-of-pocket. At this point, I refuse to pay another cent. Some of the various stories I get from them are that Blue Cross reprocessed another claim and it left me in the hole. (Not true!!! Multiple representatives from Blue Cross have told them this on the phone.) I have had them also tell me that I haven’t met my out-of-pocket which I did at the beginning of the year.

Today I had someone tell me that they started my out-of-pocket over again in July! Absolutely not true! Today was my day off and I’ve spent 4 1/2 hours with various people on the phone to have nothing resolved. I had another manager, assure me they will take care of it. Again they escalated it and I can tell you nothing will happen. They have put multiple overrides on my account and they are supposed to be good for the entire year. They told me this as well last year however, they are only temporary even though they say they are permanent for the year or deny I have it on my account! Today they blamed Walgreens for overriding charges. (They absolutely don’t have the authority to do this!)

I had asked Walgreens at some point last year if someone could call and verify that I met my out-of-pocket. Walgreens says that they submit it to the insurance and they give them the amount so it’s all on the insurance! I am so done with them! Last week they told one of the Blue Cross representatives who was a rookie with this type of thing, that they farmed it out to a third-party agency which turned out to be another lie! Sorry for the long post, but they are an absolute nightmare!!! If you have any choice at all on who your prescription coverage is with you want to run as far away from these people as possible!

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I was prescribed a pill to be taken for 90 days (longer usage could lead to major health problems). CVS Caremark approved the initial 30 pills and then, when it was time to refill the prescription, they denied the request. I contacted my Costco pharmacist, who said that CVS would only allow me to get a refill for 90 pills (when I only needed 60 more since I had already taken 30). I tried to call my main insurance first (Blue Cross), but they said it was a CVS problem and transferred me. The CVS person I spoke with told me that I needed to get 90 pills. After I explained (again) that CVS had approved the initial 30 pill order and asked if they could override the rule that required me to buy 90 more pills, he talked with his supervisor and then said I had 2 options: change my plan so that they don't require a 90 day refill or pay out of pocket.

Since the drug would cost about $600 out of pocket (versus $30 with insurance), I opted for the first choice. He talked again with his supervisor, and then said that option 1 was no longer an option and that it was mandatory that I pay for the extra 30 pills. Nothing I could say would make them alter this asinine policy. I don't care about having to pay an extra $10 for 30 pills that I don't need, but I do care about having to accept a policy that is idiotic, and I care about the inflexibility of a company that approved the first part of my prescription and then denied the balance. I cannot recommend this company to anyone and will be dropping both CVS Caremark and Blue Cross (since the BC plan we have requires us to use CVS).

CVS Caremark, operating as both a medical insurance provider and a pharmacy, presents a conflict of interest that severely undermines patient care. My experience with them has been profoundly negative, marked by bureaucratic hurdles and a blatant disregard for medical professionals' expertise. Despite having employer-provided coverage, I encountered egregious delays in medication authorization, even in the immediate aftermath of surgery. CVS Caremark repeatedly denied prescribed non-opioid medications, initiating a frustrating cycle of requests for alternatives, only to deny those as well.

This two-month ordeal exemplifies a system prioritizing corporate profit over patient well-being. While I recognize the necessity of profitability in business, CVS's model, where they control both insurance authorization and medication dispensing, creates a monopolistic scenario ripe for abuse. It is akin to paying for a service, only to have it arbitrarily denied based on internal financial considerations. This erodes trust in the healthcare system and demands scrutiny regarding the ethical implications of such vertically integrated structures. I urge a reevaluation of CVS Caremark's practices to ensure patient care remains paramount, rather than being subordinated to corporate profit margins.

This company is absolutely AWFUL to do business with. CVS Caremark Mail Order Pharmacy has made every step of managing my prescriptions a nightmare. Prescription denial games: They routinely fail to acknowledge that I even have a prescription. I’ve had to fight just to prove I take a medication that’s been prescribed multiple times. Customer service black hole: Reaching a live person takes an eternity. When I finally get through, I’m met with incorrect, incomplete, or clueless responses. It’s like they’re reading from a script written by someone who’s never worked in healthcare. Inaccessible hours: Closed on Saturdays? For a pharmacy serving working people with chronic conditions? That’s not just inconvenient—it’s negligent.

Robo-call nonsense: I get vague automated messages telling me to “call my doctor.” No context. No drug name. No timeline. No explanation. And no way to speak to a human who can clarify. Just robotic garbage. Privacy violations: I’ve received calls and texts with OTHER PEOPLE’S prescription information. If I’m getting someone else’s data, who’s getting mine? They treat HIPAA like a suggestion, not a law. Provider confusion: CVS doesn’t offer cards or forms for providers, and they’re nearly impossible to locate in electronic systems. My doctors have sent prescriptions multiple times—three, four, even five attempts—and CVS still claims they “can’t find” them. It’s not just incompetence; it feels like obstruction.

No real outreach: Their reps refuse to contact providers directly. Instead, they “send a request” through some mysterious system that never works. It’s a performative gesture, not a solution. Specialty pharmacy delays: The specialty pharmacy NEVER fills prescriptions on time. My treatment is delayed again and again, and they don’t actually DO anything to resolve it. Just empty apologies and more waiting. Delays that harm: Every lost script, every vague call, every failed interaction delays my treatment. My health suffers while CVS plays bureaucratic hide-and-seek.

This is difficult because as many know, there is 30 days in a typical month. When asked if this is discrimination regarding me, the representative said it does seem like that. They don’t know me on a personal level and to deny meds I have taken for a year or longer, or know my whole history, prescribed by my doctor, who does know me on a personal level and tell me they are now denying meds all in the “we’re making sure there’s not a better alternative med for you” movement, and have no IDEA about me personally.., This is a sick way of denying medication to those who have gone the right route for years.

Have seen specialist for a condition and been to the SAME doctor for years, who knows me as a person, not an ID NUMBER, have done all the right things taken all the pre tests, blood tests, etc only to be told “We don’t think you need this medication anymore” is a slap in the face. A waste of my time and money and travel. What medical school did they go to? They can’t even tell me what I look like! Caremark is not my doctor, it’s all about money and political up rising and less about MY CARE.

It's disheartening and concerning that decisions about medication approvals are being made by physicians unfamiliar with my case, raising questions about the oversight and ethical standards—didn't they take an oath to prioritize patient well-being? This blanket denial undermines personalized care and leaves patients like me feeling abandoned and frustrated.

The only reason I changed insurance providers was for Zepbound prescription coverage. Caremark provided it for the first few months, then removed it from their approved medications list...UNLESS you have already have an existing prescription, or exhausted using similar medicines, like Wegovy (I previously was on Ozempic, then Wegovy and it was no longer effective so I switched). After my doctor's office had filled out and submitted the required paperwork several times, they have denied me because I haven't tried the alternative medications.

Caremark has also substituted other medications without contacting me or my Doctor. They are withholding approval unless I go to 90-day mail order or use CVS, when Walgreens is closer and always in stock with what I need. Hate is a strong word. I hate having Caremark forced on me. Come open season, I will happily pay more for insurance coverage that does NOT use Caremark. This organization does not care about the patient. I can't be rid of them fast enough.

Holy smokes is it a pain to get mail order set up, and it is required for my insurance to cover prescription costs. I have now had to set up 2 medications for mail order, and despite providing CVS all info they needed to contact my provider, I still had to reach out to my provider both times to get it set up. VERY little instruction is given for how to set up mail order. I basically got a letter that said "you need to set up mail order go online and do it". So I had my Dr. prescribe to a pharmacy with mail order service. Well apparently, that was wrong, so I paid full price for those meds. I tried again poking around the website and finally found where to request a mail order prescription. Filled out everything requested including my Dr. contact info. CVS "attempted" to contact my provider but was unsuccessful and eventually asked me to get a hold of them for them.

Again, basically no instructions on what I was supposed to tell my provider to do, so I just called her and said "IDK what you need to do but CVS says you need to do something to set up the prescription". My Dr. had to call a hotline to get the info on where to send the prescription. Why didn't CVS provide her or me with that address from the beginning? No idea. Now that I went through all that rigmarole TWICE I finally have my meds orders set up properly. They are cheap and arrive on time which is the only reason they are getting 2 star instead of 1, but WOW does the communication and customer service need some work.

Each time substitutions have been made (CVS brands for national), quantities have been incorrect twice (yet they keep the credit!), and good luck trying to use it in a store. I've gone to the website 3x at least to try to figure it out, and stopped at 3 stores - none of which knew how to make it work. OH and the number they publish to contact them - 888-628-2770 - is an auto attendant that no matter what you do, press, or say, you cannot talk to an individual. You can order, reorder, check your account balance....but apparently they want no complaints or feedback.

Lastly, and most importantly, I did reach CVS OTC, by calling the Aetna number and after being transferred wrong multiple time, disconnected, recalled, etc., etc, I finally reached an agent who literally said to me (I hope her boss listens to this recording!), 'Why do you keep using CVS then? If you are taking maintenance medications, like cholesterol, blood pressure or other cheap generic maintenance medications Caremark is okay. Pretty much any medicine that is newer or has a patent still associated with it, making it more expensive, they aren't going to cover it. Your physician can contact them for authorization or an exemption, it's going to be denied, even if your physician has tried medication for you on Caremark's approved formulary list and they didn't work or there was side effects.

So, in other words if it isn't a cheap, common medication Caremark can buy in bulk and resell to you for profit, think of the $4 Walmart prescriptions, you are going to be out of luck and they would rather you die, suffer side effects or anything else than cover it. In all honesty if the local animal hospital could provide medicine, I would go there and pay out of pocket than deal with these people.

If the label on the bottle says 450mg and the prescription only includes 300mg pills, wouldn't you as a "Dr. Of pharmacy" send a note to the provider saying "hey this doesn't add up"? Is there any accountability to this system? Aren't pharmacists suppose to communicate with prescribers when there is something that could be suspect? I realize there are probably millions of prescriptions flowing through this place, but that is not an excuse. CVS Caremark needs to take a little responsibility for the pharmacist's work, and hire more, or crack the whip on the delinquents!

I'm pretty sure that I could program a computer to do a better job and reject prescriptions that don't add up. For those that don’t know, my husband and I both rolled the unlucky dice and ended up with Crohn's Disease. Today, May 27, 2025, we learned the medication that has helped us both for almost nine years was denied by CVS Caremark insurance. We were denied Humira because someone at CVS has decided that to be approved for Humira, we must go off of it and try the two new drugs that they have deemed appropriate for our condition, not our trusted doctor, but some guy with no medical degree has decided to play God and pick and choose what the best route is for our care. Let me say that again: some guy we’ve never met is messing with our lives and wants us to be a part of their experiment to see if these new drugs work.

As it stands right now, CVS wants us to go out of remission to try something new with four little kids at home. This idea sounds insane. When I called CVS to ask why a company thinks it is okay to play God, I was met with silence and told I should pay the $4000 plus dollars out of pocket each month to stay on Humira. To which I asked why I would need to pay them then, and if they had heard their stupidity. The medical care system in our country is broken; it is no longer about serving the people; it's about nickel and diming the healthcare we receive. CVS does not care about me or my health, they care about the money lining their pockets and how much their next mansion will cost. In fact, CVS would probably be happier if I were willing to risk my life and play their games; however, I'm not.

My family is more important than some random guys' quests for clout in whose mansion is bigger competition. My children deserve to have two active parents in their lives, not two parents too sick to even get out of bed. Healthcare should be based on the needs of the individual, not the insurance company. The medication that works for one person may not work for another, and the access to medications should be broadened, not limited. Access to medications matters! People matter! When calling and getting human, they avoid questions, transfer calls, will not give you their names, will not give you instructions. They use foreign call centers and remote US workers with dogs barking in background. They are not knowledgeable, not helpful and obstruct any possible resolution to your problem. Because of my experience and the multitude of negative reviews, I called the department of insurance who advised me to file a complaint and send me a link. I’ve attached a snapshot of what I sent them and I suggest if you’re having problems you do the same let’s put an end to this together. Thank you.

I am truly disheartened and angry that CVS Caremark has decided to make a deal with Novo Nordisk to push their competitor out—seems very monopoly adjacent. I have been on Zepbound over a year with great success and now my insurance NOT MY DOCTOR is trying to enforce a change in my medication. Zepbound is proven to be better effective and with less side effects. To make a deal that does not serve their customers is exactly why people have grown to distrust and dislike insurance companies. My husband got a new job in March and we didn’t change insurance providers because I was supposed to be approved for Zepbound till Nov on my insurance.

It's almost as if they rather people stay sick than providing affordable medication to improve your health. Why discontinue covering weight loss medications??? Why isn't someone looking into this?

Absolutely awful. This is my FOURTH time calling for a simple generic Albuterol rescue inhaler. Now I am out of it and I do indeed enjoy breathing. They continue telling me that my doctor needs to call in the prescription. The doctor's office has FAXED in the prescription 3 times - one of those times I watched them FAX it in! I have been told that it was sent to a retail pharmacy, I called the pharmacy and they said that CVS did NOT send the prescription over to them (this was a medication error on CVS part). I have been told that Albuterol Sulfate is NOT the generic and it is. I have been told that my insurance doesn't cover it - it does. I still don't have my inhaler.

It is extremely concerning that so-called trained pharmacy staff doesn't know the difference between generic medication and name brand medication - completely wipes out any confidence in their abilities. The only reason I am with this group is because the medical insurance forces me to go through them. First opportunity I get, they will be dropped!!!

Representatives are all very friendly and concerned but this is useless as the problem doesn't get resolved and I as sick as I am, have to struggle talking to 3 different offices when it is difficult enough just to get air in. Well done all of you who voted twice for this useless National Healthcare System - Obamacare, and the training of staff under it, SUCKS!!!

I have been on Zepbound for the past 6 months. I have lost ~40 pounds, am sleeping better, and have had minimal side effects. I’m beyond displeased that I am forced into a new medication that has tested worse. Wegovvy doesn’t even have an equivalent dosage to the one I’m on. How am I supposed to continue my weight loss journey if I’m already “capped out”?

CVS Caremark are only interested in profit. I have been on Zepbound for 6 months and it has helped me lose 38lbs. Now they want to force me to change to a medication that is not equivalent as it has been clinical shown that Zepbound is better. Zepbound also has two active ingredients and not the one that the other medication they want me to take. Their decision is driven entirely by making money and is not related to the health of their customers. I wish I could leave CVS Caremark but unfortunately, I have no other choices through my employer-provided insurance.

These two medications work differently and ** has proven to be superior in managing obesity. I have filed complaints with several agencies as well as calling 20/20 and dateline tip lines. They are expecting us to roll over and give up. We must fight back!

Caremark is 100% profits over patients! I am disgusted by their decision to remove Zepbound from the formulary after striking a deal with Novo Nordisk to only have Wegovy as their preferred medication. Wegovy is clinically proven to not be as effective as Zepbound with symptoms that are well-documented to be intolerable. How dare this company say that Wegovy is an equivalent! Wegovy is semaglutide and Zepbound is **. How on earth can you same they are direct equivalents when they very much are not and studies prove it! Their decision to remove this medication that has helped so many is corrupt and shows how much they do not care about the well-being of people. They only care about saving a dime and lining their pockets. If people suffer, who cares? Their CEO is sitting pretty with more money in their coffers. Caremark should be ashamed and I'm disgusted by their nefarious greed! Do better by the people, Caremark!

CVS Caremark dropping Zepbound is the same as when they dropped Eliquis. They are doing it for profits only. Not honoring current prior authorizations. No option to pay higher co-pays to finish out the authorized time on the prior authorization. I believe when do this, they should be required to move users to another PBM. We should increase corporate taxes on PBMs and decrease taxes on manufacturers who go direct to the consumer…like Eli Lilly.

I'm surprised at the large number of complaints as I have received medications from CVS for my entire family for decades. I have used other pharmacies but I've grown to like CVS more as I've aged because they are conveniently located within 2 blocks of my home and they offer mail service with extra-discounted pricing from in-store pricing.

I currently am being prescribed 17 different medications for diabetes, neuropathy, arthritis, osteoporosis, vertigo, asthma, gastrointestinal irritability, GERD, heart disease, & kidney prevention. Lots going on so low med prices is most important. CVS prescription costs are slightly higher than other pharmacies but the real savings comes from Caremark, the mail-order side of CVS. At first, I found it quite difficult to start the ordering process but once it got going, it became easy to re-order. All prescriptions ordered via Caremark automatically receive a discount of -20% from the in-store's pricing. I've never had an issue with Caremark's delivery. Sure, it takes longer to receive medications but if I re-order before I'm out then it works for me, plus it is super convenient for someone like me who's unable to drive anymore.

If you run have a supply of life-critical medications 30 day beyond your renewal date, you may start to rely on the pharmacy refilling medications for you and reminding you if you run out of refills, especially if this is a mail pharmacy. This is true but not with Caremark. Caremark will occasionally let you run out of refills and medications without letting you know and you will end up in terrible situations because of this. The only reason I use it is it is the only 90 day mail order pharmacy covered by my caremark insurance. Avoid those losers if you can!

I’ve been using Mounjaro/Zepbound for 1.5 years under medical supervision to treat chronic obesity. In that time, I’ve lost 106 pounds, reduced inflammation and pain, improved my sleep, and regained my health. My BMI has dropped from 47.5 to 28, with a goal of reaching and maintaining a healthy 25. These changes have been life-saving.

Now, because CVS Caremark made a deal with Novo Nordisk to exclusively cover Wegovy, they’ve removed Zepbound from the formulary—a decision based purely on profit, not patient care. Wegovy is not clinically equivalent to the dose of Zepbound I’m currently on, and forcing this switch puts my progress and health at serious risk.

This is not a decision that should be made by a pharmacy benefits manager. It should be made by me and my doctor. CVS Caremark has no business interfering with medical decisions or denying patients access to the medications that are truly working for them. Their actions are shameful and dangerous. They are putting corporate deals ahead of real people’s lives and well-being. I trusted this system to support my health journey, and Caremark has proven they only care about money—not patients.

Like some of the other folks on here that are trying to get healthy and lose weight, I was prescribed ** for 90 days. I had a BMI of 35, sleep apnea, I have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, also known as NAFLD, which really messes with a person's metabolism and makes it very hard, if not impossible to lose weight. CVS Caremark took the prescription off their list which was to become effective close to when I would be in my last month of **. I was going to get a refill 5 days before the removal of ** became effective but CVS would not allow me to get the refill.

My doctor then prescribed me a different medication which was accepted by CVS Caremark. Lo and behold, one month before the 90-day supply would be finished, I get a letter that CVS Caremark will no longer cover that prescription either. So, unless my doctor can write a pre-authorization report that gets the meds approved - and I agree, their pre-authorization process is horrible and useless - then once again, I will not have any choice but to pay the high cost of a generic brand out-of-pocket.

CVS "Care" Mark doesn't care at all about their clients, they just care about the almighty dollar. Last week, I spoke with a CVS Caremark Representative who was very helpful in explaining the preauthorization process and that the doctor needs to provide as much information as possible in order to obtain the meds to help me lose weight and keep it off. Though he has sent the authorization in, I have not received anything in writing to indicate that CVS Caremark received it, is reviewing the request or anything. It's so ridiculous! We pay all this money to have medical insurance but the prescription service, namely CVS Caremark is so cheap that we're denied what we need to be healthy. I wish Anthem Blue would get rid of CVS Caremark!! The company is worthless, it doesn't help, it is hurting them in the long run!
