Profiled during checkout. Made my kids cry. Triggered my ptsd and began yelling at me when I began to cry. I should’ve known because the woman in front of me was told she looked like a thief. They went through all her bags, made her take everything out of her bags, checked the receipt, then told her, "Everything is on here but you look suspicious, next time I’m checking your purse too." This woman literally had a wallet purse btw. Then this self-checkout lady named Alice did the same thing to me! She told me, "You ** people always sneaky and try to take stuff so I go through all your stuff just like last lady."

I spoke to a manager and she did nothing. I called corporate and they did nothing. I gave corporate a description of the woman in front of me who was treated inappropriately too. That store doesn’t care about anybody. I’d rather go to Walmart after today’s experience. Alice is by far the most audacious and cold-hearted individual I’ve come across. I expected a quick lunch hour small and less than twenty minutes grocery trip. Instead, this is how not only myself but that poor woman and her kids are treated? How is this ok?

I applied for the Red Card and found it is not a debit card. It is only a card linked to your checking account. It is not FDIC insured and is another avenue for your information to be stolen. Target has had a long history of personal data breaches. They added this potential breach to "provide" better piece of mind. Additionally, Target says it can take 5-7 business days to process payments using Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT). This is not the case. Target has taken up to two to three weeks to process these payments.

This is year 2023, not 1923. Electronic is supposedly instantaneous. Like Amazon movies, you can pay and access movies instantly. Target waits until you forget about the payment, then hits you with fees to ensure you think twice about shopping with them. Walmart is still cheaper. Whole Foods has better quality foods. Sprouts produce is locally sourced keeping small businesses going. What does Target do? Plant a community garden then abandons it. Yay Target...

Target.com is a terrible place to shop. I did not receive my child Mario Game that I purchased for Christmas. We contacted them two days before the holiday to check and the call was answered by a guy from India who did not understand English and wrote all the info incorrectly. We complained about Mario games but he had it down as Mario games and Nintendo Switch. They did not contact us with any updates for over 45 days and when we reached out, they said, "Then and now you’re telling us the story doesn’t match" and they did not acknowledge it was the ** person’s fault. Then we were told "the item's return period ended on January 25, 2023 and the order is no longer eligible to be researched”. Which is 2 days afterward. That’s a Monkey Business and I do not recommend it to anyone.

I have had a Target debit card for years and have spent thousands of dollars there. I noticed in December there were multiple charges on my target debit card that I had not made. I reported these charges and never heard anything back. These charges were not significant so I wasn’t concerned with reimbursement just wanted my card blocked. I received a letter in the mail about a month later stating I owe overdraft charges for a charge that was returned. This was one of the charges I disputed.

I called the number on the letter and the lady was extremely rude: she could care less about the unauthorized charges. She told me that I had 2 other overdraft charges over 6 months ago. I informed her that there was never any notification from my bank or target about overdraft charges and to send me a letter detailing all this and I will pay this after I validate the charges. She was upset threatening me with collections because I wouldn’t pay for these charges I was unaware of at that time. Target never stopped my card from being used either. She transferred me to another agent about the unauthorized charges and he kept me on the phone for a substantial amount of time and basically told me I was lying about the charges because they were made in the same town I live in.

I didn’t make these charges somehow someone got ahold of my info and it doesn’t matter which town it’s in. Maybe a work or social event regardless they were not authorized: I still have not heard anything and it’s upsetting to be treated like this. Like I said I didn’t even ask for reimbursement since the charges were not substantial just block the card and take off the overdraft fee. Target is too greedy to do even that! I am not hard up for money and have a well paying job. But they treated me like I was a liar and a thief. Unacceptable Target. Do better for your customers who spend their hard earned money at your store!

Target is an unethical company participating in privacy invasion and harassment of Americans. The employees of this store in the Wilton and the Albany area have participated in organized harassment of their own neighbor. So have some "shoppers" at these stores. And there is vehicle harassment going on in the parking lots.

In the Wilton area, there is also a "rogue" driver of an 18-wheeler Target truck who spends his evenings cruising up and down the Northway harassing individuals in an aggressive manner, cutting off, etc. His vehicle has a "Maine" license plate (if that is even his real plate). This guy has literally been on the road driving at my car, around my car, cutting off my car, in a harassing, obnoxious manner repeatedly. This happened at least a half dozen times I have recently been driving on I-87 at night after work. He is abusing his role, driving a Target truck in order to intimidate people in his own community. I will not shop at Target again (after spending over $1000 or so in delivery orders in the recent past).

I bought four Target gift cards as Christmas presents in December. Two of the cards had no money on them when my daughters tried to use them. I called the phone number given on their website, and was told it would need to be investigated. I was told to send pictures of the cards and the receipt and it could take up to 14 days to hear what the resolution will be. Not very good gifts, sadly. I strongly suggest that you avoid buying Target gift cards.

Be careful when doing business with the NE side store in Cedar Rapids IA. They make their own rules in regards to the contracts when you go in to pick up. IDC if it was a PS5 or something else. They said in the email there would be no problems with me picking up the order my mom placed for my son. Got there & they refused to let me pick it up. My 78 year old mother had to drive in 30 miles on crappy roads so they could get her id. It clearly stated on the email that she would be notified when it was picked up & I was authorized to pick it up. The manager was so rude actually rolled her eyes at me. My son has autism. They got him so upset he started tearing up. Yes horrible customer service & no regards for the customer is always right. How pathetic - Target you have really disappointed us. :/

If you have Target gift card or you are planning to gift them, be aware I think their gift card system might have been compromised. I bought a gift card on Dec 04 in a physical store, and I have it with me all this time. When I try to redeem it on the Target app it was invalid. I call them and Target say it was redeemed online on the 6th, which is impossible as it was in my desk drawer. Someone was able to redeem the gift card without physical access to the card or someone was able to reproduce the security sticker that looks the same as the original one.

Today I visited the Target Store located at 4037 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd, Durham, NC 27705 for about 10 minutes. I went to the jewelry dept. for a pair of inexpensive earrings and a necklace for my recently deceased mother to wear for her funeral service and burial at the end of the week. While browsing the jewelry section, I noticed a Target employee standing approximately 10 feet away filming me with her mobile phone. She kept the phone trained on me at all times, regardless of where I moved around the jewelry rack. Note that this was not expensive or fine jewelry behind a case, this was cheap jewelry on a rack.

I looked directly at her, she kept recording. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, perhaps she was recording the rack itself and it had nothing to do with me? I even asked at one point "am I ruining your shot?" She ignored me and kept filming a few seconds longer. Finally, she lowered her phone and walked to the front of the store where the registers are located. The incident felt extremely targeted. The employee was a ** female with shoulder length blonde hair and I am a middle-aged ** woman professionally dressed with long dreadlocks. Instead of the typical red Target shirt, she was dressed in a white blouse and dark pants. Perhaps a manager? Either way, I was absolutely stunned. I will definitely contact the store manager, corporate office and possibly an attorney concerning this. I will NOT shop at this Target location again and will share this experience with as many people as I can reach.

A package was delivered to me that was addressed to a different person at a different address, but that point took over a 30 min. to get across to customer service due to a language barrier. The customer service person was polite, but could not get the information that I gave him correct. My call was then transferred to the next level of customer service and all the info. had to be repeat yet again and again. Was told that Target does not have a system to pick up packages that have been delivered to the wrong person. Was asked if I could drop off the package myself to their customer. Said "No" to that. Was then asked to drop off to a Target store. I shop online too. Defeats the purpose if I am to deliver packages back to the store when they made a delivery mistake when I don't shop in store myself. Target needs to correct this delivery weakest in their system.

Horrible online order support! I ordered an instapot, online, for pickup in the store. It was thru a wedding registry. Online stated it was in stock at my local store. I got there to pick it up & it was NOT in stock. Clerk told me I needed to go online & choose the mailing option. When I looked, the item is listed "online only" on the registry. Obviously not true, since I was able to place the order for pick up. Then, when I wanted to choose to have it sent to me, it said "shipping not available"! I called 2 stores, to the pickup dept & got no answer. Phone just rang & rang. I tried online chat, several times & it kept disconnecting!

Finally got thru to chat & they said the item should cancel soon. It was already 24 hrs since I placed the order. Should have cancelled long before that! Chat person said they would transfer me to another person who could help me. Got disconnected again! Tried to find a customer service phone number, for Target, with no luck. Finally went to my Paypal account & that listed a phone number. Called, & finally got a gal who told me the item wasn't in stock at any store near me. I said "cancel the order". I'm taking my business elsewhere. I hate Target to begin with, but was trying to get this item, because of the wedding registry. I will now not have it in time, & will tell my daughter-in-law-to-be, that if she wants an instapot, I will buy here one elsewhere. Way too much hassle to purchase at Target!

After a really terrible recent experience with a target online order and horrendous customer service I will no longer shop at any target store. I placed an order online for 2 nightstands. When the shipment arrived I quickly realized target had sent the wrong items- the pieces were not what I ordered, they were tall storage cabinets and not even close to the look of the nightstands I had paid for. I contacted their customer service and they advised they would place a new order, they did not want the items back because they were too heavy.

A few days later 2 new boxes arrived and again, I realized that they had once again Shipped something completely different than the items I ordered. I contacted customer service again and after another hour plus dealing with Bangalore reps who barely understand the situation I was told I had to return the items to the store to get my money back and if I wanted the right items I had to place a second order and pay again because they can't do a 2nd reorder. Absolutely nuts.

After pushing for a supervisor in the US who could communicate clearly, I was then told they would do a FedEx pickup of the wrong items and issue refund and I would have to pay again and place a second order. Fast forward - FedEx pickup up the items. I've paid for them now a second time and target has still not refunded my money or offered any sort of attempt to make the situation right or less inconvenient.

The company should take a hard look at their customer service in addition to their shipping /fulfillment issues. They should do a better job to try to take care of their customers especially when they mess up and cause so much inconvenience. But they have done none of the above. I will never again support this company and that makes me sad because I've enjoyed in store shopping for years.

My horrible experience was exasperating enough that I'm taking time to write this review. I purchased several Target gift cards at Christmas time. I am very sorry I did because I tried using one myself. I could never obtain the 5 items I wanted to pick up at the same store location. Then a fee was added. After hours spent trying to make one stop at ONE location, I tired of the entire experience and decided to take the cash and spend it at one store (not a target). Well Target would not redeem the card for cash NOR refund my money. Target is off my list of places to shop.

The staff was rude on my last visit. I’ve started shopping regularly at Walmart for the first time in my life and I’ve found the employees to be friendly, the deliveries are lightning fast and the quality of their merchandise is far better. If I’m ordering online I know immediately if they don’t have something. They usually have everything I’m looking for at my neighborhood store. It’s sad. I received a $50 gift card for my birthday and tried to use it for an order online purchase. When I went to checkout and scratch the back of the card for the access number the sticker wouldn’t peel off properly to see the number. The sticker started to break off into pieces and the number wasn’t visible enough to use. I called customer service to see if they would give me a replacement and they told me to download the app to scan the bar code on the back only for an error to show up after several attempts. They then asked for me to provide an email to send a picture of the back of the card so they could verify there was still a balance. After sending it, they then tell me that they don’t have record of the card in the system probably because it was purchased in the store.

They then asked for me to ask the person who gave it to me for the purchase receipt. They asked for her phone number and email to see if she had an account. They were going to call her to see if she had a purchase receipt. This is not efficient way to handle this. What are the chances she still has the receipt after purchasing a month ago. I understand they need to verify the purchase of the gift card but if the long bar code and event # on the back can’t prove that there is money on the card, then what’s the point of the bar code. Why can’t they just cancel the card I have, and issue a new one. Giving out someone’s information and then asking for a purchase receipt (given they still have it), after taking a picture of the card seems a bit much to do to receive a placement card which takes 5-7 business days to receive in the mail when all the while neither party is at fault for a damaged card. It’s a hassle and inconvenient to say the least.

Target is not a new company and this process seems a bit intentional in the hopes that maybe people won’t go through the trouble to fix the problem that they didn’t even cause. It’s just not realistic that there isn’t a better way to trace gift cards if in the event it is damage. What then is the purpose of both of the bar codes then.

Target has recently increased their prices, some only 5%, while the majority of prices went up 25% or more. Meanwhile, they provide their employees with decent starting salaries, but give raises at anywhere from .5% to 3%. Maybe they should take some of their 13 billion in profits and take care of their employees. The COO makes over 12 million a year in salary and the CFO makes more than 20 million a year salary. It is pathetic in any business that these people think they deserve such a salary (if you break down the 12 million to 40 hours per week, it is 5,769 per hour), but yet they are so proud of the fact that they start their people at $15 per hour. Maybe if the top tiers gave up some of their salary, they could pay their people an actual living wage and maybe give them decent raises. Who needs or deserves to make over $5,000 per hour. NO ONE deserves that type of salary.
