    I bought two ionic breese quanza units I think it was in 1999 and stopped using them after finding out about the ozone complaints. I was unaware of the law suit until recently. I contacted them but was given the run around and told they had no way of searching for me in there data base. I suppose if I request a bank acct. search I may beable to find proof of purchase. I havent been able to find my receipt yet. Sharper image claims to no longer have data. I understand that they did refund money to some. But I was never made awair of this at the time. I also read that they now have an ozone guard for there units. They filed for bankrupsy in 2008 and the remaining stores and company assets were acquired by Hilco Merchant Resources and Gordon Brothers Group. I would like to know if theres anything I can still do for my refund or to acquire protective ozone guards for my two units or am out just out of approx. $700.00?

    I have bought 2 Ionic Breeze GP air purifiers in the past 5 years. The red light (cleaning overdue) continues to flash despite doing the internal cleaning as recommended in the product manual. While this light is flashing, it does not operate. All I want is someone who can troubleshoot the problem and fix them, but it is impossible to reach anyone who will talk to you. This company owes it to all of us consumers who trusted in them, to at least help make these units operational again.

    I have just packed up my Ionic Breeze that has two years left on its warranty and thought I should double check the internet to see if the return address for warranty service has changed. Now, I find they are out of biz and I have this $200 paperweight? I bought this brand instead of a cheaper one in part because of the 5 year warranty that came with it. I'm not going to make up a crazy story like I've been reading here about illness or damage caused by the thing. I liked it and just want my warranty honored!

    I purchased an Ionic Breeze with the extended warranty due to expire in 2011. It was replaced two times due to malfunction. The last replacement was in 2008. It has totally stopped working now and I can't locate anyone or any place to have it repaired or replaced. Please help me, it was a very expensive investment. It cost about $600.00.

    My husband purchased 2 Sharper Image Breeze Air Purifiers (GP Ionic Breeze and Professional Plus Quadra). He did not purchase the extended warranty. However, the unit stopped working before the 1-year warranty expired but due to Sharper Image filing bankruptcy, we were unable to contact them to return the unit. What can we do to have the unit replaced or if possible return both units since we have not seen any type of improvements with allergies? What a disappointment and waste of $630 of hard-earned money. They should be ashamed for ripping off consumers.

    When I called, I was told that you no longer were in business and I was not going to get anything done for my Ionic Breeze. I bought four of them some 4.5 years ago for the sum of $700 plus. And now, to be told I was out of luck is not good from my standpoint. I work with the public myself, and there is a lot of bad stuff going in and out of this world of ours. But this got me really mad. Well, enough of that. I hope to hear from you soon.

    I purchased two Quadra machines back in May 2006. I have had to return them to the stores to get refurbished ones after they started making a hissing sound. There was no trouble doing that, but now they are making the same noise and I was told I have no recourse since I did not purchase the extended warranty. I am also being told that many people have suffered breathing problems. Then, it hit me. Back in November 2006, I developed what they call Cardiomyopathy, an enlargement of the heart caused by a virus. My doctors could not tell me just how I caught this virus, but now it is all making sense. Since I do not have any family history for this condition, I can only assume that these machines caused this problem. If there is any attorney out there who would like to speak to me about this, I would be glad to speak to you as this condition has now caused me to take 4 different medications daily and I have lost much of my stamina to do even the simplest of things like walking.

    I was unaware that this company filed for bankruptcy and I'm now stuck with an air purifier that needs a part. I can't find anyone that carries them. This unit cost $500 and is now useless to me without the bulb.

    I purchased two Ionic Breezes for our home as my husband has bad allergy and asthma. Since we have been using these products, I have been developing trouble breathing as well as my husband. There is no need to take two additional medications for his allergies and asthma. My cats have troubles breathing as well as one now removes most of the hair on his underside. Help!

    We purchased 4 Ionic Breeze units and seemed to have problems since. Not only with headaches, allergies, but also with the odor it emits. I have always cleaned them when necessary and recently, I noticed an even stranger smell! I clean the entire unit again from top to bottom but the odor continued. I took out the main unit to check it out for a third time and I noticed at the base that a piece of the plastic had started to burn!

    Thankfully, I was smart enough to then realize it was the plastic burning that I was smelling. So, I looked at one of the other units and found it had begun to burn as well. I am really angry. I only found out about how many problems people were having when I went to search for options on what I could do with these units. At approximately $700 each, I am looking at a loss of $2,800! I will not continue, obviously, to use any of the other units because I am concerned that they might catch fire in addition to the unhealthy emissions they are putting out. If there is a class action suit out there, please contact me!

    My system was great for reducing dog dander and animal allergens, as well as other allergens in my home. My allergies improved vastly. Plus, it was not the noisy problem that other air filters had been. I bought two and I eventually had a problem with them, but the company then replaced them with reconditioned ones.

    While doing some research for a client, I happened to come across the information about the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze that I have been using for several years. My allergies have gotten progressively worse over the years, but it never occurred to me that this machine may have something to do with it. I made darn sure I filled out all the paperwork that came with the machine. So my name and address (which has not changed during this time) are on record with Sharper Image. They had a moral obligation to notify everyone who had taken the time to register this machine. Had I had any idea this machine made the air worse, I'd have personally brought them down. The executives of that company should have to reimburse everyone out of pocket.

    I purchased four Ionic Breeze air purifiers due to my asthma, thinking it would improve the quality of air in my home. Not only did it not improve my asthma, but I continued to have more attacks than before I had purchased them. Now that I know it wasn't my imagination, I have turned them all off and haven't had an attack since.

    I have purchased 8 of these Sharper Image units and as I purchased them (2002-2007), I always bought the upgraded units, as recommended by Sharper Image. I have been near death due to the use of these highly advertised machines. In fact, now that I have read these articles, I am convinced these machines have been the cause of my diagnosed asthma (2007) and my continual gasping for air to breathe!

    These machines were very expensive. But because I believed they would help clean the interior air in my home, I bought them through payments plans. Is there any legal action that I can take because of consumer reports settlement from Sharper Image? This product is the cause of my probable demise. I wonder how those profiteers would feel if they had to literally wake up in the night gasping for air? Consequences: I am continually gasping for air and need to use 5 different medications.

    I purchased Sharper Image Quadra Ionic Breeze a few years ago. I was using it mainly in my bedroom. I have developed asthma due to this product since February 2008 and have been suffering since then, not to mention sick days, medications, doctor visits and just feeling sick all the time!     I purchased an Ionic Breeze Pro online about a couple years ago. Recently, I have been having chest pain as a result of using it. As well, my son in January had been fine until I put it in his room. Now, he has had a runny nose and a cough. He has never been sick before this. My daughter as well has been having asthma problems. This is a very bad product. I never knew until recently that there was a problem with this product. Now I know why my family and I have been sick so much this year.     I purchased an ionic breeze about 2-3 years ago and concurrent with others, my 5 year old son has asthma. His asthma hadn’t improved, so we heard about the problems people experienced and consumer reports report on this Ionic Breeze. We shut ours off and my son has shown dramatic improvement since. My son would periodically wake up coughing and or wheezing at night. We wrote it off until hearing about Ionic Breeze problems. I’m concerned that ozone in our home may have caused permanent damage to my son and our family.

    I bought two Sharper Image Hybrid GP air Cleaners and before the year was up, one started to malfunction. Since most all the stores have closed, I have no recourse for getting the one machine repaired. The first machine cost $500. The second one was $248 because I bought it within 30 days of the first one. I have been very disappointed with these.

    I received a "Merchandise Certificate" for a defective product that I has bought. This item was never replaced and the reason I was given this certificate dated 08/31/07 in the amount of $86.55. I was told that this certificate had no exiration and when I tried to purchase something else the store had closed. I tried the Houston, Texas and the San Francisco, CA office and to no avail.

    I saw the story describing the woes with Sharper Image and their Ionic breeze air purifiers and was taken aback with the claims by "Victoria, of Cambria California'. I don't buy it...she claims that her problems got worse over the years as she had one and only got better after she shut them down. I have an Ionic breeze that my wife and I bought 2 years ago and the only time it gets shut down is when I clean the collection grids. There has been a couple times that I have forgetten to turn it back on after cleaning it and I noticed I would get very congested and the room is very dusty. Once I realize the Ionic breeze is off I turn in on and in a matter of less then an hour we are all able to breath easier and the air in the room we have the ionic breeze in is dramaticly clearere....I realize this article is a little old but, I gotta call BS on the claims that are negative about this product.

    We used the ionic breeze in my son's room. He had allergies and would have chronic nose bleeds. We took him to an ears, nose, throat doctor who took out his tonsils and adenoids. The nose bleeds continued until we took the machine out of his room. After that he did not have nose bleeds and did not cough continuously.

    I would wake up every morning with a stopped up nose and couldn't breathe. So one day I saw the commercial for the ionic breeze and I called and bought it. Since that time, I have had a good nights rest. If I woke up with a stopped up nose, I knew the machine needed cleaning. This morning my light was not working so I was looking up where I could repurchase a new light. Then I saw the law suit information. I am pissed off. It makes me so mad that I found something that works for me, but yet I can't have it because it doesn't work for someone else.

    Purchased 2 Ionic Breeze Air Purifiers @ the Galeria store (+ - 2005)& a mans wrist watch @ the other Westheimer location (+ - 2007).

    we purchased 3 ionic air cleaner units at cost of over 700.00. we ordered them through mail from tv commercial. one quit working and i returned it and they gave new one. i purchased a 5 year warranty on them to insure having for the 5 years. i think the warranty was 150 each. two other ones quit and
    that is when i found out the company had gone out of business. both just stopped working. is there any recourse with the makers of the ionic cleaners.

    We purchased 2 Ionic Breezes in 2005 to help with my husband's asthma and allergies. It turns out my husband's asthma and allergies have gotten worse and I needed sinus surgery in March 2009. My 4-year-old is now showing signs of allergies. We were looking to replace the bulb of one of the units when we came across the information about the Ionic Breeze and the dangerous levels of ozone released in the air. We could not understand why we keep getting sick and this might be the reason.     I have been having increasing breathing problems. I have used the Ionic Breeze for about 10 years. I now have inflammation in my lungs confirmed by CT. I am currently seeing a US long distance program who is running tests to try to diagnose what is the cause of this unusual inflammation in my lungs. I have had a significant drop in my PFTs, sob and coughing on awakening. I have asthma and when I read about the problems everyone is having, it made me mad that they are still on the market.I currently have a unit in my bedroom; I turned it off today.

    I bought an Ionic Breeze table top from the Sharper Image store at Oakbrook Center Mall about 2 years ago. Just this morning, I noticed that it is no longer working. Just stopped! The economical damage is that it was a lot of money to spend on a product that has only lasted a few years, and I don't have the money to purchase another one - if I even want another one.

    In 2005 I purchased 2 Ionic Breeze GP Professional Series, model # S1861, for my family. Everyone in my family has severe allergies and I myself am chronically ill. After a year, both units started falling apart. I took them in once and Sharper Image replaced one of the units. Now, a year later, this one is falling apart also. Now Sharper Image is out of business. The units are junk and I hear they actually are bad for your health by adding ozone to the air! I had a baby at the beginning of this year. Did I jeopardize his health by using these purifiers? My other kid’s allergies are worse since using these filters. Is there any recourse on this? Can I please have an attorney contact me? Can we get refunds for these 2 piles of junk that I was blatantly lied to about their performance?

    I just learned about the Sharper Image Ion Air Cleaners’ problem with output of ozone. I was not aware of the problem. I currently own 2 of these. They were quite expensive at the time of purchase. Is there anything I need to do or anyone I need to contact about the units?     I purchased Ionic Breeze Air Purifier model #S1861 on 2/6/06 which included a full 5-year warranty. It stopped working on 2/10/09 and I sent it to TSI Return Department, 2901-A West 60th St. in Little Rock, AR only to have it returned to me as there was no one at that address. My shipping charges were $74.55 out of my pocket.

    I purchased two of these units at that time with the understanding from Paul that they would be of tremendous benefit to my health because I had lung cancer. How dare the company sell these units when they were aware of the hazards to one's health at the time of my purchases? I am extremely angry that no one contacted me about stopping the use of these machines and subsequently I had lung cancer again in June 2006 and September 2007. Now I believe these occurrences were from the use of the Sharper Images machines. Please have an attorney contact me.

    The $299 air purifier did not clean the air as I expected. When I would clean the metal Ionic Strip, there was dirt, but only fine layers after 2 to 4 days of operation, and I am a smoker. My wife also claimed that it did not really remove all smoke particulates and oders as claimed.

    nothing but problems with this air cleaner.....red light indicating system needs to be cleaned wont go off. In searching for a solution or repair center I now find out there is a class action law suit, the company filed bankruptcy and went out of business. What does a comsumer do in this case? Am I out the money I paid for this thing in good faith that it would in fact purify the air and help with my family's allergy and asthma problems?

    I am not complaining. I have used the Ionic Breeze air cleaners in condo and home for a number of years and I have found them to be helpful in trapping particulate materials from the air. I'm not sure how much ultimate difference it makes, but they certainly work and though my husband has asthma, he thinks it has been helpful for him as well. I clean them routinely and there is always stuff on the grids.

    Purchased two Sharper Image Quadro Pro Ionic Beeze Nov. 2007 After cleaning product (as directed in instructions) one stopped working about 3 months of use. Now the other one has stopped working. Tried contacting company after first one stopped working, only to find they went out of business before my warranty expired.     Three years ago i purchased the Sharper Image ionic breeze quadra, alone with two other ionic breeze purifiers I cleaned the quadra the other day like I do twice a month I plugged it back in and it would'nt work.I tried to call the 1-800 number, and all I get is abusy signal.     I purchased a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Quadra Silent Air Purifier from Linens 'N' Things (they've gone out of business) in June of '07.I have the receipt...it just stopped working about six months ago. Today I went on line to contact them and noticed there was a class action suit ...and comments that others became ill over the faulty and dangerous levels of polutents it emitted.

    I was unaware of the lawsuit regarding the ionic breeze cleaners. Though I have a low income, both my children and I have asthma. I had previously had a bout with respiratory failure (at age 36) and was concerned for my health and that of my children. I bought into assurance that these were approved for use by severe asthmatics, and in fact, though I cannot recall the name, a very reputable medical organization recommended this, so I bought one quadra, and two of non-quadras for use in our bedrooms in the hope they would help. Since I experienced shortness of breath, I moved them into the into the living room, but used them for years. I later read that adapters could be obtained that converted the ozone into oxygen, but by then was completely disabled and unable to afford them. There has been no information sent to me by e-mail or by mail notifying me that there was any problem with these. I can't believe that something that could be potentially harmful to my children or myself was not called to my attention.

    I was given a merchandise certificate for $79.46 because the floor fan I purchased was out of warranty. When I tried to redeem it I was told that I would have to purchase something twice as much as my certificate to use it, which would mean I would have to spend more than my original purchase. Since they still have their merchandise for sale, shouldn't I be able to redeem this certificate?

    The product ionic breezeseries gp and the quadra breeze with ozzone are making hissing sound and putting off an oder that you would not believe.

    The store staff at the Sharper Image store guaranteed that the Sharper Image Wireless 2.4ghz outdoor speakers would work with my new iMac. I now find out that they are not meant for an iMac. I feel like the store staff lied to push merchandise out of the store. The 2.4ghz wireless speakers do not work as intended.

    I am writing this after just finding out The Sharper Image had gone out of business from the Tulsa newspaper and I am just a little more than P.O. of what I have found about the IONIC BREEZE Products they sold me. On 08/13/2005, I purchase two (2) SNX IBGP PS at the price of $549.95 with the second one at half price $274.98 + three (3) year guarantees and two ten (10) year guarantees. Now I find out that there could be health issues among various other things. What really make me mad is that I always received The Sharper Image sale book since I did purchase from them so The Sharper Image did have my address and phone number, but didn't send me anything about possible health issues or even they were going down the tubes.

    Isn't that nice that after I took two (2) Ionic Breeze 3.0 SNX back that I had already paid for at the nice little price of $499 because I didn't like them and being told that he would apply all the money already paid and sell me two (2) SI830SNX SNX IBGP PS, supposedly better, plus throw in two (2) bathroom models and two (2) car models plus sell me a BBQ set for half price for a total $529.82 + the money I had already paid for the two (2) others I returned for a grand total of $1029.72. Now that's a lot of money for something three (3) years later is nothing really plus warranties that are not worth the paper they are written on it seems. I want to know if these ** ever did anything to satisfy their customers or just said hasta la vista, baby we ** you again. I still have my lovely receipt to prove all of this.     I explained my photo key chain that was give to me as a Christmas gift no longer works. The person who purchased it no longer has the receipt. It was purchased in early December 2008. I have the original box and instructions. All I want is it to be fixed or replaced. I was transferred to several representatives, who were rude and told me there is nothing they could do without a receipt. The last rep, took my name and number. Somehow I feel she will do nothing with it. I really enjoy sharing my pictures with family and friends. It's always there and handy. When I'm having a bad day, All I have to do is look at my chidrens pictures on the photo frame and my day is lifted.
    We're only talking less than $25 to replace the photo frame. What happened to coustomer service? Regards,

    I bought two sharper image in 2006 (Ionic breeze) since the advertising clame was that is good for allergies and i have allergies and asthma and me and my two kids been using it since then. and was getting sick and also my dughter was getting sick.
    as It was only recently I read some information that the ozone emitted from these air 'purifiers' could worsen asthma symptoms and I decided to shut mine down. My asthma had been getting progressively worse for years, and now, after only one month of this thing being off, I have noticed a dramatic reduction is my symptoms, and also by removing it from my dughter room she is good.

    Purchased Ionic Breeze for Allergies, but is seems my allergies have gotten progressively worse to where I have severe headaches and I've just started back with allergist, had sleep study done, will need CPAP and possible skin testing to get me back to pre-Ionic Breeze condition if possible. This has really taken a toll on my physical being by making me very fatigued and making my other medical problems more enhanced causing to feel bad most of the time.

    Nothing but a positive. I love the smell like a fresh air after thunderstorm. Tar, dust and who knows what but black, removed from filters could be in my lung instead. Company when I bought them on eBay and failed me short after replaced them at no cost. I do not understand kicking the dead horse here and now. I think that perhaps price was on the high end but concept and results great and I am not complaining at all even if can't fix them any more. Bathroom unit is superb each time making stay there nothing but nice experience. I feel bad that company is out and can't help any more open-minded people. I guess we have much more serious problems engulfing us now but nobody sees them. Thanks Sharper Image for your great presence and customer care. Thomas

I just thought that it was that I was doing something wrong. I have taken them back to Sharper Image twice. Neither one is in use now. They make a funny noise or draw alot of static.

    We bought 3 of the Ionic Breeze Air Purifiers. My husband has emphazema, and thought they would help. Every time we would leave the house and come back into our house, his breathing got worse and he would start to cough and joke. His condition has worsened over the last two years and we now are convinced that they machines were the culprit of intoducing a serious bacteria into his lung, it's called psuedamonas. He'll be on nebulizers for the rest of his life, not to mention hospital stays at least 6 times a year. We thought it was supposed his breathing, but it's just about killed him. We're so upset over this whole situation. We returned the machines to the Manufacture and were issued a credit slip of $ 550. We used half of the credit, and had a remaining $ 269, which we're out the money now, since they filed for bankruptcy. Is there no protection for the consumer? I'm sickened by this whole thing.

    I had bought a Sharper Image Ionic Quadra Breeze which came with the bathroom unit. The bathroom unit stopped working a year into having it but I never really had problems with the unit execpt for static electrcity noises, especiallly when it needed to be cleaned. Yesterday I cleand the grids and but it back in the unti and turned ito n and heard those noises again. A few minutes later I smelled plastic buring and saw just the red clean light on the unit flickering. I unplugged it and had a hard time removing the grids. I finally get them out and see that the bottom is all melted. the damn thing almost caught fire. My house still smelt like burning plastic this morning. What recourse do I have since it hasa liftime warranty? Is this unit going to have to go out with this weeks trash?

    I had very good experiences with the ionic quadra. my family owns four units and we all love them. My mother has heart problems and sometimes had trouble breathing- the ionic breeze helps her a lot. She also has a small travel unit she carries with her ev erywhere.

    We purchased 2 ionic breeze Quatra in April 2004 . They were purchased because my 4 year old at the time was diagnosed with asthma and allergies. One of them began having troubles within 3 years after purchase and I had made (2)seperate phone calls to the customer service # to let them know it was making unusual sounds and they suggested vaccuming it and using the hairdryer to blow any dust out. I was faithful each week (and still do) to clean both of the units. A few weeks ago the troubled unit discontinued working and will not turn on at this point. I've tried to email the Sharper Image and they suggest looking online for answers. I feel cheated because I now have one working unit. My husband was told when we bought them they were guarenteed for as long as we owned them. We spend over $550.00 for the two of the units and we're out of one completely now. I'm very angry and just want a new unit to replace the broken one.

It worked fine until about two month ago when the red cleaning alert light came on and stayed on even though the unit was clean.     I had purchased $200 worth of Sharper Image gift cards and gave as Christmas gift in 2007. Then a month later when my son wanted to use them, he was told they weren't honored. I called Victorias Secret Home program and was told you would honor them if sent to you. I sent the $200 in gift cards to you by certified mail on October 20, 2008 and have heard nothing yet. I'd included the credit card they were to be reimbursed to and as of last week it was not credited to card yet. How long does the process take as you now have had the gift cards for 2 months?     hi, i got a very disturbing email from my mother the other day, in which she told me to unplug my breezes because her larger one started to melt and smelled like burning rubber she said. i found it very ironic because i have the larger one which seems to be ok, but i unplugged and wont use anymore due to moms experience, and i have the small wall unit which is in my bathroom. well, about 2 weeks ago i walked in the bathroom and the ionic breeze was working so hard that you could actually see the electricity in it. when i went to unplug it i got a terrible shock and have not put that one back in either. i called your company to see what was wrong anf thet said it was my problem with bad electrical wiring. i felt like i was really being ripped off. i didnt even know there was a problem with the company and filing bankruptcy until my mom sennt me the website. why dont you tell people about something like this, in our case as well as my mothers there could have been a very serious fire. what i dont get is why the recall on these were not made public, we had to go on the internet only to find out there were others with the same problems.

    I purchased 2 Pro Plus IB Quadras on line from Sharper Image in 8/2007. Both were returned within one year and fixed (covered by warranty). But now one of the Quadras is not working and I am unable to contact the company. I guess I will have to look for another air purifier.     I've got two Sharper Image Hybrid GP air purifiers and they both have the same problem. Is there any way to repair the electric grids so it doesn't crackle and go to the dry mode all the time?     I purchased a small portable excercise pedal bike. The kind you sit on a chair or the floor and pedal the bike at Sharper Image as a gift to my Brother about a year or so ago.
    The bike was shipped directly to my brother by the Sharper Image store in San Mateo, Ca. The bike is now falling apart and is about to no longer pedal. The bike came with a guarantee and warrenty I believe it may have been a lifetime warrenty for defects. This bike is definately defective. My brother loved it and used it often after a knee surgery to help recover his knee after surgery. My brother had another surgery and was doing the same after this one. But the bike started acting up and seemed as though the inside parts were becoming worn out or loose and the bike became wabbly and just wasn't working properly any longer. I told him no problem, he had kept the box and all the paperwork the bike came from and I "thought" being Sharper Image Guaranteed their products I would simply contact them and ask for a replacement. I was obviously unaware that Shaper Image had closed all it stores and all these problems the company was having and had. Obviously my complaint is that now I seem to be out a very expensive item bought with a, "I thought great warrenty so I had no worries if the item were to be defective they would replace it without a problem. My question, if anyone can advice me is, can this $150.00 bike still be replaced by Sharper Image, that I'm reading is still doing business online? If the company is not "out of business" being they are still doing online business, is this a recoverable thing? Can the bike be replaced? If so, how? How & who would I contact to have it replaced and the warranty made good? If anyone has the answer to this problem with Sharper Image I would really appreciate the advice, answers to have a way to have this item purchase from a Sharper Image store.     3 years ago I bought a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Germicidal Protection Silent Air Pufifier, model S1830. I kept it on 24-7 in my bedroom due to allergies with my cat...and thinking this was supposed to be good for me. I also purchased one for my sister who suffers with Epstein Bar and many bronchial issues. Mine just died and I was upset that the company is out of business as I have a 5 year warranty on it. I looked online for help and this is where I learned of the lawsuit about the effects of damaging ozone. I began suffering over the last year with asthma like symptoms, shortness of breath and inability to catch my breath. Not only did I sleep in my bedroom, but I did my daily Yoga and Qigong practices in there which require deep breathing. It has become increasingly harder to catch my breath and I have been fearful that I am developing ashma. I could not figure out why as I live in the desert and am in great physical shape, use treadmill and weight, etc. But this breathing thing has really concerned me. I am shocked to read about the lawsuits regarding the effects of this product. I need to let my sister know as soon as I complete this letter to you. Is there any civil lawsuit for comsumers that I can join? First I was upset that Sharper Image was out of business and would not be able to honor the 5 year warranty I have...but now I am even more angry to learn of this but happy that this machine could be the cause of my breathing issues!!!!!!

    When I found out about the ozone problem. I learned they rectified it but wouldnt replace it . I'm a respiratory therapist and and understand the damaging effects of ozone my son and family and animals were surrounded by it. They put a unit on it that suppose to convert back to o2 but they wouldnt reimberst me for the health threating unit or give me the upgrade.

    Approximately 4-5 years ago I purchased 2 Ionic Breezes. I am a certified massage therapist and take into effect the air quality in my offices. Over the years I have slowly been having more problems with my sinuses, a symptom I have never had problems with before. My Dr. has put me on Nasonex for the past couple of years to live with this problem. In the past year I placed an Ionic Breeze in both of my massage offices. I noticed my sinus problems have really flared up in the past year, even using my sinus spray.

    As a massage therapist working on clients, it is placing me in a unhealthy position around my clients when my sinuses start to drain and I have to excuse myself to blow my nose. Since removing the Ionic Breezes from my offices my sinus condition has improved. I have never considered that a product marketed to clean air would be the cause of my sinus problems in the past years. If possible I would like to be reimbursed for these products and some reimbursement for the money I have spent for medical supplies in the past years.

    Consequence: The main physical damage I have experienced is my chronic sinus problems since using the Ionic Breeze.

    I have sinus problems and I bought an Ionic Breeze. The thing works so great. I bought seven more of them, and my sinus problems are nil while I'm in my home. I have purchased: floor lamps [4], desk lamp, throws and all kinds of other things from The Sharper Image, and I have had NO problems with anything. I have highly recommended The Sharper Image to LOTS of people.

    I even recommended the Ionic Breeze to my doctor. I am very sorry that some people are having problems with the Ionic Breeze and causing so much problems with The Sharper Image company. I LOVE THEIR PRODUCTS! For your information, I do not have a high income. Actually, I am disabled and living on a disability income. I know some of The Sharper Image products are pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for. And, with The Sharper Image products, you get GREAT QUALITY! Thank you!

    Purchased 2 lg. floor models Air Professional Plus Ionic Breeze Quadra. Replacement guaranteed at store if Quadra not functional within two years. We now have no store to get the promised replacement of the item that broke down within 8 mo. We are out the money that we paid this expensive item.     We LOVE our Ionic Breeze units. My wife bought two of them over six years ago and we have been VERY pleased with them. Properly reading the instructions and using the units according to the manufacturer's directions has resulted in NO untoward health or other effects. They have shown themselves to be very effective in reducing particulate matter in our home environment: Less dust and pet dander, fewer breathing problems. A couple of years ago in response to news reports (and just to be safe) we added the catalytic O3 to O2 converters to our units, and added a THIRD Ionic Breeze to our home collection, as well as two more units for use in our business. They are quite effective in removing offensive odors (tobacco & pot smoke, etc.) from hotel rooms and other public areas.

    In our multiple-unit, multiple-year experience with the Ionic Breeze units we have been nothing short of pleased with them. It would be a shame to see such a great product no longer be available to the intelligent and informed buyers in large part due to inappropriate use by a few who fail to use a product according to the manufacturers explicit set of instructions.     I recently discovered Sharper Image closed its stores and filed for bankruptcy. My unit went on the blink and it is still under warranty. Who do I go to now to get it replaced/repaired?     I bought 3 Ionic Breezes from the Sharper Image. We have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS with the units so I shut them off...it makes my asthma and allergies a lot worse then they were. My neice cannot even be in a room with the Ionic Breezes since she also has the same issues. I also paid for a 5 year warranty on these things that by the way one is not in working condition, and now I have no way of getting the money back. We are not made of money and couldn't afford these to begin with, however the company promised so much and in the end it was nothing but false advertisement. I just want my money back at least for the broken breeze and my warranty since I got nothing out of it. They just took our money and pretty much ran when they filed bankruptcy. There money problems should not be anyone else's money problems.

    I purchased a HP800 Laser Stars projector from you in 04/16/08 and returned it for an exchange due to a malfunctioning product #1 Defective.
    I called for a Return Auth and received a prepaid label # 0013013208. This was HP800 was paid for on a credit card of $ 154.03 and I returned it for exchange on 5/22/08. I would like to know how they intend to resolve this matter? Especially if they went bankrupt and closed the physical stores but I'm reading that they are going to continue as a on-line catalog.     I bought three units. Two of the newer quadras and one was the older model. They all collected dust and what ever it is on the metal collection areas. The air smelled great coming out of it. I assumed it was working great. I don't have any health problems, I am sensitive to chemicals so I though it would be a good thing to have. I have not noticed any bad side effects.

    I had purchased two sharper image silent air purifiers. (Quadra)I had nothing but problems with them returning them for replacement. They seemed to send me old (used) but cleaned up units.

    I purchased 2 pro plus IB quadra for $349. 95 and get the 2nd one 1/2 off. And I purchased the replacement guarantee for both of them at $39.95. Had to return one because of the noise and he told me it was just a lemon. so I got another one free. OK. So later I bought a mini one for the bedroom and the same thing buy one at regular price and get one for 1/2 price. Plus the replacement guarantee for $39.95.     I bought an ionic breeze last spring and used it constantly until it died a few months later. I was cleaning out my room and was about to throw it out, but decided to look up the sharper image on google first. That was when I came across an article about The Sharper image going bankrupt because of this product and saw a story about a lady who said her asthma had improved since she stopped using her ionic breeze and that she didn't know how much damage had been done to her lungs. This got me thinking. I realized that I started having lung problems shortly after I started using this product. I don't know if it is related, but thought I would let you know just in case it was. I was hospitalized twice in two months. Once at the start of summer (just after I bout it), and the second time at the end of summer (shortly after it died). I haven't had any problems since then. I was hospitalized for spontaneous pneumomediasteinum (basically a hole in my lung). Just wondering if their may be a connection. Thanks!!!

    I purchased 2 Ionic Breeze Quadra. 8-2004.
    I'm a nurse and had no season allergies. but had alot of dust in the house. Since I purchased the Quadra I have experienced upper respiratory problems. This year has been the worst. All year I have had sinus and upper airway swelling and constant pressure . sinus infections and it hasnot gone away.     I personally love my ionic breeze. We have a son that was taken to the hospital because of breathing problems onset by a cold. We discovered that he is susceptible to an asthmatic reaction when he gets an upper respiratory infections. I immediately went out a purchased two ionic breezed. I can't say that the ionic breezes alone is the reason our son has not had an asthma episode in three years but each time I clean my ionic breeze I am shocked at the sediment and lint it picks up from the air in just a week....     I bought 2 ionic breezes a few years ago at over 600.00 for both. They didn't seem like they did much so I called the company before the 30 day trial period was up and they said I had to send back and they needed to recieve them before the trial period. That doesn't seem like a 30 day trial period does it? I just cleaned them and noticed a glowing coming from one of them. It is shorting out I guess.     I purchased Ionic Breeze air purifier several years ago.     I was in Little Rock for multiple myeloma treatment at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. I had double stem cell transplant. Because of the chemotherapy, my immune level was very low so I bought two air filters for my home. I have used them for several years.     Sometime in (I believe) 2003 I purchase 2 ionic breeze Quadras (the second one was 1/2 price) for my son who is handicapped and lives in a cerebral palsy facility. After a month or two I realized it produced no change in his breathing and decided to return it.     I bought my Ionic Breeze Quadra Silent Air Purifier from Sharper Image online in 2006 and paid approximately $300 for it. Before the one-year warranty was up -- it completely died.     In 2004 I purchased an Ionic Breeze Quadra Air Purifier at a cost of $399.95. It had a 5 year warranty. I thought it would help with my breathing as I have COPD. In late 2007, I began having problems with the machine rusting and not working properly. I returned it and they sent me another machine which arrived in Jan. 2008. It was the wrong model and I had to return the second machine. We finally got the correct model. Now this new machine has quit working altogether. It hasn't performed as stated and I have not noticed any difference in the air quality in my home. I contacted the company several times at the same numbers I used previously but all I get is a recording stating that your call did not go through. I understand that there is a class action suit at this time concerning these air purifiers. I was not informed of this so don't know if it is too late to get involved or not. Please advise if I have any other recourse as I am most unhappy with this purchase. It has been nothing but a problem and hasn't helped me at all.

    On 10 May 2007, I purchased two (2) "Professional Plus" Ionic Breeze GP
    Silent Air Purifiers with Ultraviolet Germicidal Protection for over $400. each. By 04 Feb 2008,both units were not operating because of a faulty sensor switch that shut the unit off because a sensor light displayed that the unit needed cleaning. The units were cleaned weekly and were spotless, but they still would not function. The Sharper Image replaced them on 04 Feb 08, and sold me "Replacement and Service Guarantees" for both units. Now the two replacement units are not functioning with the same problem...sensor light says they need to be cleaned, but they are clean. Went to take them back today (28 Nov 08) and the Sharper Image store is gone. The place is vacant, with no other info.

    I purchased 2 ionic breeze GP professional series from Sharper Image in February of 2006 for $905. They came with a 5 year warranty. A couple months ago both units quit working completely as if they are not even plugged in; no lights, no action, nothing. I have attempted to contact Sharper Image as they say they will repair or replace the unit if I will ship them to them so long as they are under the 5 year warranty.     After a very few days after cleaning the dust, dirt and lint attracted to the machine create a noise that requires you to clean it again or put up with the noise. The ozone odor emitted from this machine can be overwhelming and quite unpleasant. It has been off more often than on due to the ozone odor. The last time I cleaned the bars and restarted the machine there was an unmistakable odor of electrical burning coming from the unit. I unplugged it and put it outside and have tried to call the company with no success. This was not an inexpensive purchase and I am unhappy with the performance.

    My Ionic Breeze started making noise and then just quit on me. I was looking to replace it (I had the extended warrenty)and found out that they had filed bankruptcy. Now I don't know what to do.

    My son purchased an Ionic Breeze for me from Sharpner Image and it was suppose to have a life warranty. The unit has stop working. I cannot return it since Sharper Image has gone out of business. Also who is responsible for the unit

    I bought two Ionic Breezes on May 25th, 2007 for a total cost of $539.32. By June 20th, 2007 one of my ionic breezes had already broken so Sharper Image replaced it under warranty and sold me an extended warranty for $39.95 more. By 11/30/07, the ionic breeze broke once more and I got it replaced with the extended warranty. To date, 11/2008 I now have two broken ionic breezes and a company I can no longer return them to with 3 1/2 years left on a warranty I can't use. Please note that I followed instructions to the tee on how to clean it carefully and felt I was not rough on these devices in any way. I feel as though it was due to poor manufacturing.

    We purchased two ionic breeze air purifiers - one for our bedroom and one for our basement. They have been replaced once and I cannot get in touch with Sharper Image and just read they have filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Are we able to get a refund. My husband and I get headaches and head congestion and thought it was our air ducts. They make noise even after I clean them. How do we go about getting a refund? Purchased both in July 2004 from their website. had a 5 year warranty.

    I purchased a One Touch Deluxe Can Opener from The Sharper Image Corporation. When I received the product it was delivered as promised. The trouble began shortly after using it. I did not install brand new batteries at first, but used what I had on hand. These batteries did not last very long, one or two cans. I then tried a set of rechargeable, and still had about the same results. Even with brand new batteries I was only able to get through 5-6 cans on one set. They were advertised at doing almost 100 cans before needing replacement. The last time it was used the batteries died, and the remedy to remove the opener from the can almost destroyed the device, as it was not turning the motor as it should have.

    I purchased a professional plus midi and the red light kept coming on saying it needed to be cleaned. I cleaned it just as the instruction said and the light would never shut off keeping the ionic breeze from working. I also purchased the extended warranty for $34.95. The store employee said that it could be returned anytime during the 5 yrs guarantee. The store I purchased this from closed (Memorial City Mall in Houston, TX). I would like for The Sharper Image to make good on the guarantee or reimburse me for the ionic breeze.

    I purchased a product from this store along with an extended warranty on the product. The product was defective and I returned it to the store for a replacement. I was told by a sales associate that the store was out of stock on the item, but a replacement was ordered to be shipped directly to my residence. Months passed with no product, despite my communications. Eventually I received a check for the amount of the product with a letter stating the item was no longer available. No reimbursement for the extended warranty. I deposited the check into a personal account at a local bank. Two weeks later, a photocopy of the check was sent to me, along with a letter from my bank stating the account the check was drawn on had been closed and no funds were available. I now am unable to contact Sharper Image. I would like my money. Any advice or recourse?

    Given bankruptcy, can't get product warranty honored. Satisfied with the air cleaner, but broken now and the 5 year warranty ends December. Phone numbers not working. Will the new owners honor the warranty? If so, how may I get in contact with them?

    Purchased 2 GP silent air purifer germacidal protection units. Less than one year we had trouble with one and had it replaced.....they said it would take abouit a week to replace. Took over a month to receive a new/rebuilt unit. Now the seconed one does not work and cant get a replacement unit as the phone numbers no longer work. Very very discusted with the sharper image service and the life of the units. They say the bulbs last about a year with continued service, but the unit should last for years....not about one year or less. So we bouth two units and they averaged one year between both units. Very expensive to buy with poor service life. Is there anything I/we can do?

    I too had the Ionic Breeze air purifiers, and found that they didn't improve by asthma. In fact Jan 2006, I had such a severe asthma attack, I spent 6 days in the hospital. We bought 2 of these so I couls braeth easier. We used one in the bedroom and one in the living room.

    We purchased 3 ionic breeze units for our home to clean the air. One unit sort of 'blew up' and created an electical problem on a circuit in the kitchen. The unit no longer works and is now housed in the garage. (We have been unsuccessful at locating a way to recycle any part of the unit.)
