    Don't buy Pulsar Menards lawn mower!!! Back wheel drive doesn't work for turning a lot of corners. No adjustable speed. Low quality blade attachment, hard to reach handle. Generally very poor engineering. And once you put gas in you can't return it.

    I used to go to Menards all the time. Their friendly return handling is very good. But recently, the quality of their products has greatly declined. Wood trim has numerous flaws, vinyl flooring is poor quality and poorly constructed. You will struggle with it. If all you want is standard stuff like nails, screws, hardware (some of it), etc. it's probably ok. For me, I am sticking to local hardware stores, HD, and Lowe's from now on. Doubt I will ever return to Menards. It's just not worth the minor savings to struggle so much with quality.

      We just bought 51pcs of deck boards, 4-8ft posts and few other lumber total of $1108. When we got the order we found 85% of woods were totally worse quality. Too many knots, brown edges, warp pieces. Really disappointed. Buying the stuff from this store for 25 years. My shower doors supposed to be soft close, 2 out of 4 went bad in 1 month.

      Wood in the center of the door breaks quickly. Screen blew out of one door. Bought 2 screen doors from Menard in October for new screened in porch. (36" W x 81" H Unfinished Wood T-Bar Screen Door, Model #: 4191187_tbar Menards ® SKU: 4191187) One door was removed for the winter (so it was only in use for 1-2 months before placing it on its side on the porch, braced with heavy objects so it wouldn't move much in the wind). It was put back on sometime in May. Now, in June, the wood in the center of the door (t-bar) has separated and broken. The other door was left up all winter and used occasionally. In March, the wind blew the screen out of it. Then, the wood in the center (not the outer edges) came apart. These doors are not worth the price we paid for them! I will look at another home improvement store to purchase doors that hopefully will last a bit longer than these.

      I ordered a new stove from Middaugh’s Oven May 5, 2016. I was told my stove should be in by May 30 as of June 18. I’m still waiting for my stove. I will never buy anything from nerves again that’s not already in stock. It is ridiculous to have to wait that long but they got my money!!!

      We bought premium siding from them about 11 years ago. The siding peeled more and more each year. We went back and forth for a long, long time. They never admitted it was an inferior product. Sent pictures. They continued to pass the buck. They first blamed the contractor for poor installation. Then we were transferred from department to department. They finally stopped all correspondence. Never honored the guarantee/warranty.

      I ordered a 6-foot-tall metal shelving unit from their online store. This week I was notified via email that it had been delivered. Only one problem. It HADN’T been delivered at least not to me. Apparently it seems they delivered it to an address that doesn’t even exist in my town rather than the one they had been given in the order form.

      Menards online will only communicate via email. When I contacted them by email I received back a terse “the status of your order is delivered”. They have not responded despite repeated attempts to contact them further via email. I even tried calling and left two phone messages with no reply. It seems the only choice I have is to contact my credit card company and tell them not to pay. Is a darn shame. I really liked that unit. I was looking forward to it. I don’t feel that I could safely re-order if this is the way they handle things.

      HORRIBLE experience, ordered a vanity on line, and it listed 167 in stock, cancelled the order the next morning prior to shipping due to needing a larger one at the advise of our contractor. Ordered the new one online. Could not speak with a human to cancel was instructed had to send an email, received an email back that stated there was a 25% ($168) restocking fee, even though it NEVER shipped!! Called and spoke to a manager Chelsea who was not very pleasant nor helpful. She said their system showed in transit and she had to make room for it so hence the $168 fee. I even sent her the email showing it was cancelled, her reply was "sorry but not what our system shows". Will NEVER shop at Menards again!!!. NOTE: 4 others were in line to pick up online purchases and NONE of them were aware of the online purchase restocking fee...BUYER BEWARE!

      Menards sold me a damaged bathtub and replaced it with one that didn't appear damaged but discovered cracked after installed when wiped out wet and the fracture appeared. I have submitted documents to them twice and have heard nothing. It appears they don't care about customer service after the sale. They regularly have sold me damaged goods and items that simply don't work. I would recommend that anyone looking for quality materials not shop at Menards.

      Very upset. We bought a criterion fridge less than a year ago and Menards did not back it up!! The compressor is out. It has been 5 days of back in forth with criterion trying to get a report man to replace it. No one wants to work on them because parts are hard to find!! I was asked to even after sending the receipt from the warranty place to take pictures of sounds it was making and photos of the inside a few times. As well as the model number not once but a few times. Today 5 days later no one has yet to replace or fix the unit!! I was told by someone at Menards named Jennifer to only expect 2 or 3 years out of that brand!!! That's ridiculous. I have also explained to Menards my issues and was hoping they could help but got nowhere!!

      Recently went to Ft Dodge Menards for small piece of indoor/outdoor carpet for garage steps leading into utility room. Asked staff for a marine grade on sell at $0.55/ sq ft.! Roll was 6 foot long. I asked for a piece 3.5 ft (42 inches) x 6 ft. Staff prepared carpet using machine and cut carpet. Gave me ticket for 24 sq ft. 48" x (72")6ft. When enrolled at home it was 44" x 6ft. I was overcharged 2 sq ft for $1.10 and $1.65 over what I asked for. It isn't the money, it's wondering how often this happens every day throughout all their stores! Are they that incompetent?

      Tired of the poor quality in the yard. Today it 4x4 cedar posts. You go in the store, get a ticket, drive to the back, they have 30 boards, 3 are good, the rest are cracked, damaged, or broken. Drive back around and return everything. Over an hour wasted. Do better, please!!!

      I am trying to find a receipt for purchase a few years ago. Unable to get into website, says error message, freezes up to change password. Tried calling customer service, she was unhelpful and kept referring me to the website. Claimed they don't have a "real person" to talk to. Spent a lot of money at Menards and BEYOND frustrated!!! Make it better and easier to do business with.

      Was in Menards store on Morse Rd in Columbus Ohio. Tried taking a water heater back that was under warranty. Manager said I couldn't return it for my customers. Because I didn't have a receipt. I call Rheem water heaters. They gave me the ok to return it and get a new one. But the Manager still wouldn't let me return it. I have to drive all 25 more minutes away to another Menards store. In Lewis Center Ohio. I had no problem returning the tank there. It's just horrible, I had to go to 2 different store to get the problem fixed.

      I had a very disappointing experience with Menards. I was repeatedly told that I had read my order incorrectly and that I would be charged a restocking fee. This was simply not true. My order clearly stated that it was ready for pickup and even said to “hurry in.” Despite this, customer service continued to insist I was wrong. After unnecessary back-and-forth, they finally refunded my money. I ended up purchasing the same item from Lowe’s with no issues at all. Poor communication and an unwillingness to admit a mistake cost them a customer. I will not shop at Menards again.

      They don't state that you have only a week to pick up online orders. If your ordered has been cancelled you have to physically go to the store within 90 days for it to be put back on your card or it's an automatic store credit. Their online policy suck, I would not recommend doing online services through them ever.

      I am a contractor and unfortunately some of my customers buy their products from Menards. It seems every time my customers buy from there the product is always a piece of garbage. I recently was putting a shelf up for customer and he went and got toggle anchors from Menards. In the picture you can see the broken heads from the screws and broken anchors. These broke as I was screwing them in. How can Menards feel good about selling products that break instantly. I’ve had a lot of other things break in seconds from them also. I had a paddle but from them I had to buy because they were the only store available to me at the time and it bent a minute later. Their products are absolutely horrible. Employees have no idea what things are and don’t even offer assistance.

      My customer and I went to buy 64 10’ pieces of PVC pipe. 2 employees were standing 10 feet away talking and didn't even offer assistance. When we asked where the 90 degrees elbows were the employee's response was, "What’s that?" They put employees in areas that have no clue about anything. They don’t respect veterans either like Home Depot. I dread every time my customers want to get product from Menards, because a job that might take a week will end up taking much longer because once again, Menards products and service is horrible. If there was a zero star rating I would put that.

      I was in Menards today. I had to pick up 4 more boxes of flooring. I was greeted by an employee named Brad. Brad helped me locate the SKU I needed to find. I left the flooring dept. Then returned to get prices for flooring paper. Brad again showed me where it was located and recommended a brand, too.

      I purchased a 36” French door refrigerator. The brand said it was a criterion. Worked fine for six months. Then started freezing or icing up. Had to unplug and let it defrost! Worked for about two months no issue then iced up again. Had repair service look at it. Had defective evaporator fan. Unable to get parts. No help from the store. Don’t buy Criterion from Menards!!!

      We have been going to the Olathe, KS location since they opened. We had made it our new home improvement store, over HD which is only 1.4mi from our house. Menards is 7mi. Everything was going fine, until we were charged for 2 bags of $14 grout. Brough my receipt in, and he said a manager would have to check the camera for this day and make sure I am NOT LYING! Yes because two gray haired seniors over 65, need to steal a $14 bag of grout! We have spent approx $10k at Menards in the last 2 years remodeling a house. Yet they can't take our word for a $14 bag of grout.

      The rebate deal has always been a hassle. I am willing to pay a little more and go back to HD, and not be hassled of situations like this! My time left on this planet is short, and I don't need to be hassled, speaked to rudely, and have to wait nearly 30 minutes to look us up on the register for the date and time of the sale, to prove positive that I am telling the truth. This is beyond anything I am willing to accept from a retailer. GOOD BYE MENARDS!

      Went to the store in Burlington Wisconsin for the first time after living in Lake Geneva for 7 years. After the 40 min drive one way, I pulled into the parking by the garden center since I'm a disabled combat vet and can't walk far without pain. I get to the door and it's closed, have to walk all the way back to the front of the store then all the way back to pick up 200lbs of fertilizer then I have to push it all the way back to a check out then all the way back to my car. When I get almost to my car someone says hey we can help you with that, yeah never mind I already manhandled it this far. I ask if they give a veterans discount like Lowes, nope they don't care about vets. Then there were signs everywhere touting an 11% rebate, once I get to the checkout I see on the receipt it's not a rebate it's an instore credit which I have to go to the other side of the store to get a form.

      First time and LAST TIME ever going there. Not worth the hassle nor do I like being baited and switched with their rebate. I know what they were doing with locking the doors and forcing you to go through half the store simply to try and unhinge more money out of your pocket. When I asked why the doors in Garden were locked and there was no checkout I was told they weren't open yet...It was 12:45pm when I was there the store had already been open for at least 4 to 5 hours except for the garden section. Not sure who managing that store but it seems like a DEI hire. Last time ever going there.

      I purchased a set of whirlpool washer/dryer 2/24/26, dryer barrel doesn’t spin. Things happen. Called M. They said 7 day return. Call whirlpool. I also bought an Allstate 3 year warranty. I spoke to 6 people at Menards total and 3 from whirlpool. Their repair vendor is 3.5 hours from here and I’m not sure if they will show up. The right thing to do is exchange it. It was 30 ish some days. I won’t buy big ticket items from Menards. A similar event happened last summer. I ordered a vanity online and it wasn’t the right size. It never left their store and they wouldn’t refund me or even charge to restock no store credit. They have their policies in both cases. I’m not pleased. Tracey ** real estate broker Duluth MN

      Worst order cancellation process! No phone #, must go through email. Less than 6 hours after this expensive order was placed, I tried to cancel using their process. I received an answer the next morning. ‘I’m sorry order is on the truck that hasn’t left. You’re stuck with product.” They deliberately make it difficult to cancel orders so you’ll have to pay a 25% restock fee. I’ve been a long time customer. Won’t buy from them again.
