Provides very generic information (e.g.- white pages) and lots of popups that offer additional information for an extra price. Of course, you need to spend a lot of time entering information and waiting for the info check before the upselling begins. The company hopes your invested time commitment will make you click on the upsell buttons that take up half the screen and are hard to avoid clicking. Too bad more online companies can't offer straightforward price for straightforward services rather than using sales gimmicks. Worthless service unless you think there is a legitimate criminal record out there for someone you know. Also does the recurring monthly bill forever thing instead of a lump sum price, another "vampire" sales tactic common to online companies these days.

I only found out 1 thing I didn't know. Almost all of the information is at least 3 yrs old, not current information at all. I was very disappointed and would not recommend your site. It was a total waste of money!!!

Not all of the information is for that person. Namely you can tell when the birthdays don't match, etc. Sometimes it is hard to find people. Expected it to include marriage and divorce licenses but doesn't.

I was actually looking for my cousin who disappeared several years ago but none of the names that came up match him. It would help if there were pictures on the first page or you could search by birth date. I ended up just downloading my own and there is a lot of info that I wish was not so available but also a lot of inaccurate info. I'm not sure if it's worth it or not. I'll try to look up some friends that I've lost contact with and see if I have any luck.

Was rudely awakened after subscribing by add on additional charge. Expected to get a report of some degree of substance and then was told there were additional charges of $19.95 to get the premium report. As of now I would probably terminate this service. Would like to receive some type of response.

After trying for an hour on an ipad pro and safari browser, I was told to use regular iBook and Chrome. The difference was that it didn't work but in different ways. Every time I try to save a report, it generates a new one. It worked LAST SPRING, but I have wasted 1 1/2 hours trying to find my old traffic tickets.

Silly extra fees that automatically renew WITHOUT ANY OTHER OPTION. Obviously a money maker for you. Then, some of the reports draw a blank. I paid an extra fee to look up phones but can't get a report linked to the phone.

We opened an Instant Checkmate account with a company business card under the controller's name. (The service itself was middling, by the way, but seemed to serve its purpose.) However, someone under the name "Penny **" opened another account at Instant Checkmate (curiously with a start date a week before our legitimate one was opened) with ANOTHER credit card belonging to the controller - which was very confusing at first since that card is never used for general business purposes.
When Instant Checkmate was consulted, their representative informed us they take no recourse in the event of consumer fraud - which is interesting considering it is supposedly a secure site. They "could not" provide a contact for their legal department, or even the representative's supervisor. Conveniently inaccessible. This looks to be a shill company, or at very least, highly inept. AVOID.

Even though they had his birthday correct, they posted pictures of other men much older than him, included information of other men with the same name in states that he has never been in. They have a lot of wrong information as it pertains to other people with the same first & last name even though they had his middle name and should only have used that name. The info they did have correct was very vague. I found the info to be useless at best and very detrimental as it included info on other people with same first and last name. It was a huge waste of money! It also included info on relatives but gave addresses that they never lived at. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SITE. I WOULD GIVE IT A -10 ON A SCALE OF 1-10. I did not receive a receipt for my payment and did not receive an order number!
I WANT MY MONEY BACK. THIS IS A SCANDAL!!! And without an order number and receipt, they cannot process it. I JUST NOTICED THAT THEY DEBITED MY ACCOUNT TWICE!! ONCE FOR $22.86 & ANOTHER FOR $19.99. I have the images of payments on the 2 payments they took but cannot download them to your "ADD IMAGES".

As a victim of identity theft I decided to pay you $1.00 to see what my report has on it. Most of the data you found was not accurate. My middle name is not F., I don't know any Patricia ** nor is that a nickname. I never have lived or worked in Roswell, New Mexico. Under relatives I don't know a Laurel. I reviewed other reports which also had inaccurate data. I am not about to pay you another $20.00 for more wrong info. I feel that if you are reviewing your own file, you should allow for corrections to be made and verified. The information shared was not up to date. It does not show any criminal history specifically a lot of the names are incorrect. Looking for myself it came up with numbers and addresses over ten years ago. The person I did want to know a little more about his recent criminal history. According to ICM he has none but he is currently incarcerated. The standard background check is nothing more than what a simple google search will tell you. Thank you but no thanks.

I did not find any greater info than I did with a regular and free search in the county of residence and actually found less info on your site in general than on county's website. No national data of which I have strong reason to believe there is more records outside of subjects current county of residence.

I checked one name with wrong birthdate, another with wrong address and telephone number, one with wrong criminal (She was only 11 years old when she supposedly got criminal traffic offense), mine with wrong addresses and family.

Although I did not get the complete information I was hoping for when I tried Instant Checkmate, I am updating my original review to say the customer service response at Instant Checkmate was very impressive. They quickly reached out to me and was truly concerned with my dissatisfaction with their service. Because I did not get what I was expecting, they quickly refunded my money. This should be a model for all businesses. It was not good for me (it may be for others) but the fact they want to improve their services and are willing to make amends for any shortcomings gives them an A+ in my book.
I would raise them to a 4 Star review based on the responsiveness of their support team.

When one is looking for information you don't know, it is difficult to determine whether the search gives accurate information. In most cases I believe the information to be up-to-date. I do believe that Checkmate is more accurate than some of their competitors. Checkmate received a four instead of a five because they say I'm doing too many searches in a short period of time.

Too many discrepancies. Not so much for me but for James. James had an arrest record a mile long that he had nothing to do with. Out of the list there were maybe 2 ticket citations for him. Char had the wrong birth date listed. Not at all happy with this program and I will definitely be stopping any further contact with Checkmate.

Very unhappy. Inaccurate results, misleading, gave addresses that I never lived at, gave no criminal records for family that I KNOW has records, requests to pay for premium very harassing. I couldn't find the people I was looking for. I paid extra for the PDF downloads and they wouldn't download on the 1 person I did find. There were constant pop-ups and ads that interfered w/ my search. The 1 person I did find had incomplete information. After paying for information on a specific person, you are to able a search on the entire group of people that may be relatives. Totally denied!!! RIP OFF!!! The ordering process was simple enough, although you would not let me use PayPal. Information is not accurate, though - I found that some of the data regarding myself and my daughter were actually about someone else with a similar name. And accurate information is very minimal. Not helpful.

I looked up information about a few people I know, including people, I know certain information about. The information returned was inaccurate, including no findings of arrest records for someone I know has been arrested several times. I looked up information about myself and much of it is very inaccurate, including aliases, phone numbers, places I've lived, my current occupation, etc. Your site was a complete waste of my time and money and I'd really like my money refunded.

I was disappointed with the advertising I suppose. Your ad to get one to sign up for your service did not indicate that in paying the initial fee, the only information you would receive would be the same that was accessed without enrolling in your program. Once enrolled, you find that to get any substantive information you must pay an additional $19.99 to get anything actually helpful. I really did not get any information that was helpful, even with the extra premium fee. Sorry, I was just disappointed with this site.

He has moved twice since the last address you have posted for him and that was over two years ago that he lived at the address that you have listed for him. I love your service. Out of all your competitors that I have tried, I have found yours to be the most accurate and user friendly. I think for the majority, about 90+ percent of the time your results come back correct. That makes a huge difference for me as a customer and will gladly refer anyone to you in the future.
The ONLY thing that I've found frustrating however is the automatic "Suspected SpamBot Protocol" you have in place when someone searches too many people or numbers in a certain amount of time even though the service we purchased specifically says it is unlimited. I understand your side and that you need some type of protocol to weed out the Bots but the fact that there is no warning, and that it happens without the option to first prove we are human or not BEFORE the account is suspended is VERY inconvenient.
What makes it more frustrating is that once the card is refunded and the account is canceled it is impossible to reopen the account or ever ever ever use that specific credit card again, nor can you review the search records you've already accessed... not even one last time. Can you imagine how FRUSTRATING it is to put all that time and effort into looking up a multitude of searches only to find you are suddenly unable to go back and look anything back up or write anything down?
If I could call customer service and prove whatever I needed to prove whatever I need to prove to reactivate the same account so I could access the searches I had already done AND not have to use a different card to create a new account...I would give your service a TEN out of TEN. I mean I only have 2 different credit cards as it is. I had to go buy a reloadable card to open a new account and it was inconvenient and I had to pay $5 bucks to load it.

I just didn't get enough information. He definitely has a criminal background but it shows no history of him ever being arrested. I KNOW FOR A FACT, he has a criminal background. I got him out of a few of his scrapes with the law and made him pay me back so I don't understand why you guys are asking for more money when it was stated that this info would be provided.

Did a self check to see what information is out "there". Kind of scary - I have never been arrested and yet there is a record of an arrest in California at a time when I was not there. I'm reentering the job market and I wanted to see what a company would see on my background check. I paid for the unlimited one month because you can't buy one check. The information was missing things that other sites found. It list random people who were arrested with your name or age and say how likely it is that this is the person is you. It has your horoscope and star sign which is completely irreverent.
If you want anything important you have to pay for the upgrade for that section of information, which may be blank. You don't know till you pay for it and in tiny words it say the information may be missing or inaccurate and that the company is not a substitution for your own diligence. Everything they found could have been found in an hour on Google for free. The photos they have of me are of a women from another state (I have never lived in), just because we have the same first name. They should be completely ashamed of themselves and anyone who say this company found anything of merit for them had to pay for all the upgrades or they've just never googled themselves and their relatives.
If they had mentioned how many upgrade you had to purchases before you got the full report or put the disclaimer about missing and inaccurate information where you could see it before they took your credit card information, no one would bother with them. Once I saw you had to sign up for at least a month I had hoped to use this service to check on future sitters, but considering how horrible they were at providing me with my own information I would never trust again. Save your money, save your time. They are not worth it at all.

I was associated with this female in 1988 and 1989 when we were both young and crazy. Most of your information was accurate but I feel that it needs to updated and more comprehensive. Several of her family members are not listed although I know them well and are alive. Brothers John ** and Scott ** are not listed. Both have been arrested at least twice so they should have arrest records. Her mother Gladys and one of her sisters have passed away. Mother's obit was in the San Antonio express news! Several of her addresses were also not listed yet older ones were. All in all I was pleased with this experience since it helped me connect with someone I had thought of down through the years.

I basically use this service to identify a person calling whose phone number is not recognizable. Many times it comes back that you are unable to provide information but I'm not sure if that is because the owner has a registered private number or some other reason.

For the most part, I found that my personal data were recorded correctly. However, my birth date shown on the basic information section was 5 days earlier than the actual date. The date was shown correctly on my "arrest record" (I once drove through the cuts in a speed hump and was charged with "violating a highway sign," for which I paid a fine.) I find it unusual that the database would not recognize the different DOB's and attempt to reconcile the difference.

I found almost nothing on a search for myself including records and social networks that should have been easily found. Was asked to purchase additional upgrades after every click. After paying for two upgrades I gave up. Maybe with one more upgrade I could have gotten more results. PDF download doesn't always work. I have to double-check the file after it is downloaded. Occasionally it comes up as invalid file type. Was able to get phone and address history for many people, but nothing I could find from most other free searches online. Mid-way through writing this review, I thought I would look up more people I know to see if the results were any better. As I was looking up more people, my account was "temporarily suspended", "for review due to concerns that you have not complied with our website's Terms of Use". I want my money back.

I did two assessments and then myself as a final test. Mind you, I paid for a six month unlimited membership. I was actually looking for something that I could demo for work-related purposes. This wasn't it. I got no more than I had already found on my own through internet searching. In the same day of purchase, I requested not a full refund but a partial refund. They gave me exactly half which is on the lower side of fair-ish.

A friend needed me to help him find someone, and to test all the sites, I put in my own name because I know more about myself than anyone else does. Some sites gave more information than others, but, most of the information I found on my own name, was consistent in all the sites. None of them, including Instant Checkmate, got my relatives correct. But, when I did a google search, I found that there is apparently another person named Susan **, who lives or lived in one of the cities I have lived in, and who apparently is related to the two people that I am supposed to be related to, and have never even heard of. Yes, the rates that these websites charge are somewhat reasonable but I cannot pay for a search, if none of the sites even get my relatives correct. They all got my age correct, and some of the cities I have lived in but even the correct information was about 3 years outdated.

I searched someone that I was familiar with a criminal background to check the accuracy of your site. And even though they have at least 6 arrests your site shows no arrest warrants or any criminal background for that matter. I am disappointed that I paid for this service.

I expected more info. Accuracy was only fair. Much, much better than nothing. Thank you for what I did get. I opted for premium on my deceased father, it clocked for 15 or 20 minutes and I had to leave, 4 hours later it was still clocking. I will call to make certain that I did not get charged.

The information provided can be easily accessed in a few minutes on any decent search engine. After you have already paid for your report, you get the option to pay for "extended results," which includes the information you think you paid for in the first place, from third party providers. It is also an automatic renewal service, and you have to actually call to cancel. I did just that, and have yet to receive the confirmation of cancellation that I was supposed to get hours ago. Given the business model of this company, I am assuming I will have to call multiple times. Would not recommend.

My first background check was on myself. Totally inaccurate information. The search generated an unapproved "special third party" data review for which I was informed that the $19.95 cost of that report would be automatically added to my credit card. I've called and cancelled my subscription and was told that the 5 day trial period was not available on the other subscriptions as I was led to believe, but was only available if you purchased a 5 day trial. This is exactly the scam I was afraid it was. I was told that no more charges would be made to my credit card. I'll be watching that closely. Do not fall for this.

After going over the arrest record section someone would think I was a complete monster and it would imply I owned a business which I never have and lived in multiple places which again I have never lived. You have my name as Theresa ** but I have no middle name. You have the info between my husband Gary ** (no middle name) & my son Gary ** all mixed up. On my son's info page is says Gary ** was born 02/11/93 & he's Aquarius. That should be all on my husband's page Gary ** (no middle name). You had my house assessed in 2003 at $125,080 then in 2014 you assessed it at $82,000. This house is assessed at $212,000. You had my son Jacob showing he was arrested for drugs in a few different ways in the state of Florida. That was a different Jacob Alexander **. On other pages you did say least likely person but you didn't for him. He hasn't been in trouble in his life. Looking at this had me believing that he WAS arrested for drugs but when I saw how wrong you were in SO many smaller things I realized I was wrong for believing you.
I know you charged me $40 more tonight while I thought I already paid for the site & it says there are no hidden costs & that you just have this site so people can know the truth. That is the farthest from "the truth". You even charge $1.98 for looking up phone info. All the things your site says it is & why it is isn't the truth. I'm going to post all of these wrongs because with all these unimportant wrongs how can ANYBODY trust the important things like who is a child molester or a thief or a liar?? This site was a good idea but you took my money & gave me nothing in return. I'm extremely disappointed!!! Hope your site gets better.

I feel like I wasted my money. Very little info is ever shown, and even then - the arrest info is "iffy" at best. The site doesn't know for sure if any arrest record belongs to any person. The only information that was correct in the background report was common knowledge. That could have been found through a simple Google search. The majority of the information was about someone other than the individual I was searching for. The individual whom I was searching has 3 arrest records and 1 social profile that were returned through regular Google searches that were not included in this advertised comprehensive report.

I signed up to check some background on a known felon. And it came up no record. On top of that you can get the same or more off google, or anywhere any who phone lookup. I reviewed Instant Checkmate in August. I was very disappointed with the service but they stood by their customer satisfaction promise and offered a full refund. If you are interested in having a look, you needn't worry about getting ripped off. Go ahead and give it a try. Perhaps you will have a different experience. In response to their response: Regardless of their disclaimers and reasons for additional costs or why info was incomplete or incorrect, their initial advertisement and purchase options say nothing about "Premium" info charges. If they really want to be upfront about the service and fees rather than risk customers feeling baited and disappointed - Why not reveal these Premium service options and additional charges right from the start?

I sat through a good twenty minutes of loading bars before the website asked me to pay to show me any information. I paid $1 for the 5 day trial and immediately had to go into my PayPal account to disable the automatic $30 payments this website sneakily added without my consent. They then tried to get another $2 out of me to view a PDF after I just paid to view everything already. I said no and I've been sitting here staring at the same loading bar for thirty minutes. I have clicked on each link for personal info, arrest records, etc. Everything I've just paid to see info on. Nothing is working and all I can see on the top bar is that it doesn't even have my date of birth or age correct. I paid for this service and I have been given absolutely no information at all. I am furious.

I just signed up for one month (recurring) to check this site out, and so far I have only looked up myself. I plan to use the site more, but this survey popped up on the second page I went to so I figured I would take it. In any case, some of the information is outdated and I am frustrated that I can't update it. First of all, it doesn't show my husband anywhere. Your site uses my maiden name which I haven't used in almost a decade and only shows my married name as an alias. Also, some of the photos are not of me. I know it says "possible photos" but what good does that do when the woman pictured in half of the photos isn't even me? Anyway, you guys only charged $10 so no big deal. I just wouldn't recommend the site to anyone at this point. Again, I have only looked up myself so I might find other people to have more accurate info. And I guess I'm glad that you guys only have my phone number from 10 years ago!

Now, about 30 minutes and website is still saying Loading Personal Data. Horrible website.

Your information is so beyond inaccurate. Have sent you nemourous info on website issue of wrong info on people. This needs to be the right info on the right person. As an example, a Cathy ** but linked to me and a Danny ** who does not exist, has my old address on Santa Clara Place, a photo of someone else, and criminal records in different states that I have never been in. I am canceling this today because your info is so beyond bad. I would have upgrade to premium if the info was accurate but it is not. You even have police report on a Virgina ** who had been dead since 2003 and their not hers.

while I did not find the background check to be useful I was very pleased with Instant Checkmates response to my review. They reached out and explained their point of view and authorized a total refund since I did not find the information useful, complete, or totally accurate.
I am impressed that they want to ensure that the customer is satisfied with the money he or she has paid for the service they have provided. Based on that I have increased my star rating from 1 to 4.

I was surprised at the many inaccuracies in the data. These included a name I have never used, several family members that were omitted, and a lot of irrelevant information for it to be a background check about me like the crime statistics for the community I live in for 2011 and 2012. My horoscope was included -- that is a ridiculous thing to include. I do not believe in horoscopes as a scientifically accurate measure of anything.
There were arrest records for people with my same name in states 1500-2000 miles from where I live -- Why include that kind of stuff -- I have never been arrested. Perhaps the most offensive thing was the constant plea for me to give them another $20 for a more complete report. There were easily 6 or 7 or 8 times when they made the pitch for more $$. They got my name spelled correctly, my age right, and the photo was actually me. The section on social networks was correct. I can't imagine that this is rated 4+ stars and is an award winning background check operation.

I have searched a couple of family members just to see how accurate your records are. Christina ** is my daughter. She is 25 not 28. And the address you have her living at she hasn't lived at for 2 years. I also did a search on myself. You have me linked to my father-in-law rather than my husband, and you still show my husband linked to his ex-wife even though they haven't been married in more than 10 years. Now I'm a little concerned about the information that I get when I am looking for someone for real. Information 2 years old doesn't help me.

First, they are not honest enough to tell you upfront that this is going to cost you too much money unlike their similar sites. Second, they advertise that you will be able to see criminal records when you sign up, you CAN'T. Third, the only way you can see the actual criminal records is to pay them $20 more after your original investment. I found nothing on this site that could not have been seen on Facebook if this is a person you are familiar with. I immediately cancelled and it was a complete waste of my money.

I was disappointed to see that there were several egregious errors in this report. First, I was born and had my Social Security number issued in 1976, not 1979, that would be my sister. Secondly, there were a few missing and inaccurate address reports, though these were minor. The most concerning are the Arrest records. All listed possible arrests were not even close to areas I lived in or frequented and to have possible arrests listed when I have never been arrested is disconcerting to say the least. I am disappointed in the lack of detail on some of the sections, and also, the cost on running reports on everyone in my close circle. While I know that there is a lot of work involved, if they are a spinoff of myself, there should be a package deal to see the reports of multiple people and make it easier to really do the check on people who matter the most.

Misinformation/ not accurate/ under criminal list. 2 drug charges and 2 DUI when there was 1 DUI which included possession of marijuana, etc. All was one charge and it was a deferred prosecution and dismissed. Also list many non valid e-mail addresses. I haven't finished searching site and it appears I am at the end. I have not seen a phone number to contact Checkmate.

I paid way too much on this site to find some lost data on lost relatives... mainly trying to find them by their last known ex-husband's names and last known addresses. But the site is missing so much information or has so much information that is incorrect that there is no way this was any help. Just a waste of money. The marriages weren't even listed for ANY of my relatives. That's public information that's not even listed. The addresses are WAY off base of where they should be. The "Sex Offender" information is based on a tiny amount of information that's WaY across town from the actual address, and doesn't even list the ones across the street. I was truly disappointed.
Then for the extended site information, it's an extra $19.99 PER person you look up... It reads like "You pay once and you get it for everyone you look up." NO, it's for EACH person you look up. And then you do not get ANY extra information except that the SSN is valid and what year it was issued. If I could get a refund I would. But of course that's not something that is offered. Find another site for looking up information.

Wrong address, and everything attached to me. I decided to look someone else thinking this might work, and decided to pay for the premium for it. They ended up charging me TWICE, and neither times loaded. I am furious and I want my money back.

The thing I cannot usually find is cell phones. Sometimes I know the person has moved, but the new address is unknown. Some people don't exist, even though I can find them on the local jail booking sheet. Batting 50-50 on finding information.

I fell for signing up for this service just to see how accurately they would report public records. They are way off. They reported inaccurate affiliated spellings of my name, wrong birth sign, phone numbers that did NOT belong to me, 3 criminal/traffic violations that had nothing to do with me, and no marriage or divorce records. I sure hope no one that ever truly needs to do a credible background check on me ever uses this service. What a waste of money!

I was referred to Pipl Search a free service by a feed I subscribe to. I'm not sure how I ended up at Instant... but I reluctantly agreed to an introductory offer costing $1.99, which became $19.99. This I did agree to - I'm not sure why but I did. However my account was charged $29 and then again $29. This was bad enough but the info provided is sparse. And guess what, it's not their fault they don't have any responsibility for what they provide. Only for what they charge you for what they aren't responsible for. Additionally they claim you can get the reports downloaded in pdf form but it doesn't work and you are prevented from using any other means such as Google Drive or Pocket or Evernote. This site is scam.

The initial charge of $20+ provides information that any Google search would reveal for free. Any additional information is an additional $20. I stopped there because there are too many scams out there that continue to charge you fees then more fees without providing any information. Beware and expect to pay $50 or more, any site that is not upfront with their fees I would not recommend and this is one of them.

Generally there is very little information unless you want to pay for premium services. Pretty much a big waste of money.

I was slightly upset that I could not get information for the price I paid. I felt that an additional $20.00 would be required was outrageous. Also, I already have PDF on my computer for reports and any other thing I have always looked up. Why do I have to pay you $1.99 for something I already have? Again, not satisfied. The information you did provide I could have gotten from another source for a one week trial of $4.95. Your information is not really current, nor did it contain many people I was trying to locate. People that are in their later years. There should at least be address records, they have land lines. I guess I just couldn't get that info that is unless I have to pay the additional fee to get current information. I ordered your service today and called to cancel it a few hours later. To make me happy you could refund my $29.85.

I can find most of whom I'm looking for, except for my biological parents... When I looked up my mother's name using the state and age, I still got a ton from everywhere else too. That is my only complaint besides not finding a lot of numbers.

I have checked several numbers including mine and my friends and every single one has errors. Mine didn't even have my name right! I have been getting calls from people I don't know and this site can't get one of those right. I have been looking up numbers tonight and you can't find them. I enjoy company sometimes these have numbers so I wanted to find out if they are real or is it a setup!! I paid for 6 months and am about to cancel, so far haven't gotten a penny's worth!

I found the link to Instant Checkmate via How-to Geek when looking for anti-virus information. It was recommended as an excellent website for checking for background information on people. It was easy to enter a name and request a report. When the report was completed - prior to getting the information you agree to terms, then select what membership package you will purchase before you can review the report. I had so much difficulty in completing the required information - that I had to open a live Chat. I was finally able to sign the agreement, enter my CC info and continue to try and get the report. I chose to view it via PDF file. That was an extra $1.99. I clicked and had technical difficulties, tried again - didn't work, so I cancelled that option and chose to read the report online.
After several attempts to try and read the report without a pop up dialogue box constantly appearing constantly - I closed the site and rebooted the computer. In the interim my CC fraud unit texted me asking if I made these several CC charges that appeared on my credit card. After getting that cleared up, I opened the website again and tried scrolling for the report information. The information was no more than you get from any people search: Name, address, telephone number etc. You then have an option to get Premier information for another $19.99. I tried that twice - more pop up dialog boxes with Continue. Constant looping without moving forward.
Another call from my CC fraud unit, as I was charged $1.99 twice in a row. This time they gave me the customer service number at Instant Checkmate and I called. The agent was extremely nice and very helpful. Bottom line: Never got any information beyond the type you get from people search and I cancelled my membership.

I utilized this service in an effort to verify my address history for the past 7 years. Unfortunately the public records this service searches did not contain the details I required; fortunately I had only utilized the 1 dollar 5 day trial (accessible by attempting to close the page after getting to the payment info/plan selection form) and the 1.99 pdf download add-on (offered after selecting a service plan, but before viewing the actual report). When I contacted the customer service to cancel the account to prevent the automatic billing of their monthly fee at the end of the trial period, I also requested that they cancel the PDF download administrative fee as I had not utilized that service at all.
Overall, although the service did not meet my needs, this could provide valuable information in the right circumstances, and the combination of the low-cost of the trial service and the customer service policies makes it a very low-no risk service to try to see if it will have what you need.

I went to instant checkmate because my 22 yr old male neighbor kicked in my door and beat me up. Local police are no help. I have filed or called 911 about 12 times since the first assault happened. His mom, dad, 2 sisters and grandma has harassed, threatened my life leaving messages on my daughter's phone and my dad's. Police will not give me the reports I need them. And the hidden price for more info and most is wrong. I PD for that on myself and is wrong and bull. I even called because I could not log on most of my month and was told too bad but she could tell that I was not on. I am poor with no locking doors. Need help and got none from this. I might go as far to say you scam money with false hope.

The only information I garnered about myself is 3 phone numbers that I haven't had in nine years, my work fax number, (yippie) as well as past addresses - that I have not had in years. Additionally I was given information on someone else with my same name, 10 years younger on the other side of the country.. Erm.. no.. That's not me.

I did not order the full report, but it would make me question any report. Yes, they do post a disclaimer, but once inaccurate information gets into an agency, it gets passed onto other agencies.

I only signed up for this website because it advertised itself on MSN.com as FREE. I got all the way through until it stated I would have to pay to receive information so I stopped and did not go any further, BUT the website already had my e-mail address and name. Since then I have received HUNDREDS of JUNK E-MAILS DAILY from various fake websites/people and there's no way to stop them unless I change my e-mail address. I would not recommend this website to ANYONE!

I ordered this to look up a particular person. I ordered the premium, which never downloaded on my computer. I called and they refunded me the money for the upgrade, but I still can't open the file or find it. Now when I put in the name lonnie ** (Ca) what comes up is a page that just keeps saying looking data for hourssssssssss. All I want is that one person. I've called again and they said it may be because he opted to have his information left out. But when I also did that no page opens and keeps saying downloading or checking for or looking for or anything. I am very upset.

It literally takes twenty minutes and like 10 screens to get to your "report". It doesn't reveal anything and only gets you to pay. Got charged the full $30, even though I only signed up for the $1 trial (they even charged me more than the $1 initially). Refund is nowhere in sight. Please, just avoid this scam.

I was disappointed in information for 24.95. Most was accurate. However, to get all information indicated initially, I had to spend another $19.99, which seemed deceptive. Charge one fee upfront, period. Don't string people along.

In general I like your program very much and it gives more information than other programs I have used for previous reunions. Not in order. I don't need much of the basic info but would really like to get email addresses - I am just collecting contact information for classmates but I do occasionally look at relatives to verify I have the correct person or to find a spouse' name. Your site wording led me to believe that for $19.95 my account would be upgraded to give me emails - not just for the current one. You tend to leave off some address data like apartment numbers and street directions like N Main vs S Main. Your desktop option is a nice idea but hard to use as the direction and order of the list changes every time you touch anything. Your selection list for states is not in alphabetical order. When I have to make several tries to find one person, I wish the input line didn't always clear.
Occasionally when I tried entering a new name, the first section would refuse new input and kept changing back to another first name out of the history list. I think the rest of my annoyance is due to information that is unavailable or wrong with whoever or whatever supplies it to you - not your fault. Thank you for a great utility that is new to me.

Do a search for "instantcheckmate scam" before you visit their website. I wish I had, it would have saved me time. The sign-up process takes a really long time and there is no option for you to keep your email private or to opt out of receiving SPAM from them and the affiliates they sell your email address to. You can also find many people who have had issues of being overcharged and recurring charges on their credit cards, so keep in mind giving this company your credit card information is just asking for a bunch of headaches and hassles. Maybe after calling customer service multiple times and much teeth gnashing they might decide to issue you a credit. But probably only if they think you could win if you brought a lawsuit to court. My advice is to do some research and stay away.

When I looked up my personal information it was so inaccurate I would not have recognized myself if I had not been the one to pull it up. Others, that I know, have criminal records, they do not show up. The address information does not make clear which is oldest to most current. Basically, it is useless information that I could have gotten free from Yahoo White Pages.

I am not getting any important Information! I paid $22.89 to get information as advertised but not getting it. There are inaccuracies all over the report and to make matters worse, I have to pay another $19.99 to get what I thought I was supposed to get with the $22!! I furnished basic information but this report cannot just copy that information accurately. No wonder it has missed some very important information because the report engine was not given the information I put in, but the garbage this product put in. I am very dissatisfied with this product.

It sounds so totally complete: $1 for a 5 day trial for tons of information. I wanted to view my own records so went along with the search for a 5 day trial. All was fine up until the point where you have to pay $1.99 for the pdf copy of your report. Okay, no choice so I agreed and looked at my report. But when you want the real meat and potatoes of it, you have to pay for a "premium" report. I did not and will not go for that. I just got ripped for $2.99 and almost an hour of time! Don't go for it folks...It's dishonest!

I have been unable to print out reports for over a month now. I submitted a complaint with no result. For such a large database I have had issues with located information on people who have known criminal backgrounds. The system really needs an update.

I chose to do a check on myself and once the lengthy 5 minute show was over I was then advised to pay the $20+ monthly membership premium. I then reviewed the information and halfway down the page was sported for another $19 fee to see the gritty information... and a while more down the page found it was necessary to pay an additional fee. I found the information on myself was outdated, inaccurate, and sketchy. I still have not received a receipt or confirmation of payment via email from this site. I am very disappointed that I wasted more than 30 minutes and $27 on this site and am considering calling my bank to prevent any additional charges and change my credit card numbers since this site clearly appears to be a fraud.
