They have no email support and despite informing customers on their website FAQ and terms of use that you are able to cancel your subscription online you are not able to. You have to call to cancel and no one answers your call. It's a total scam.

I have sent requests 12/2017, 11/2018 and 1/2019 to this company to cancel my subscription. I recently noticed it is still charging me and they responded in 12/17 and requested my email for my PayPal account to cancel it. I responded with the requested information, however the charges continued. At this point they've taken over $450 after being asked to cancel the subscription. Be very wary of using this service. I want my money back!

Have been charged far more than what I agreed to. Agreed to a 3$ Trial. was charged over 30$. Have been left on hold “waiting for an agent” for hours. The site spent 15 minutes pretending to find records on me only to pop up nothing correct besides using my old Facebook photo. They even made up a middle name for me. I’ll be contacting Better Business Bureau and possibly taking further steps if this is not resolved.

Great Program for what it can do. Could use better info gathering but it is what it is. I would like to see it do better on the info it gathers since I have seen a lot in there that was not the person who it gathered on.

Refuses to remove my information. I have made multiple attempts to opt out and after a couple weeks of checking, my information appears again. I have followed all of the instructions. I was actually considering membership until this has come to light. Unreal.

Bad. They stole my money. They do not give good info. They my money and I cannot get any info. They do not answer the and do not answer email or text messages. They offer 5 days trial for $3.99. Took the money but gave me nothing. The company is a ripoff.

I have been trying to find the crook who embezzled me out of my money in France and the crook made it look like he was in Hong Kong (very well done). But he made one mistake. He used a Florida Bank to transfer my money to. Having filed my complaint to the Sheriff and waiting for five months no news from the Sheriff. I contacted the Sheriff. To my surprise he was still waiting for a reply from the Bank 5 months waiting and lost time. Of my insistence he had obtained a meeting date and after his visit with the bank manager he was convinced by the banker that my money had left the states and (were international crooks) who are using PX boxes, etc and decided to close the investigation and return the findings to the French where I live.

I cannot reach a customer service representative. No one answers the phone. I have called numerous times to have them help me. I can't reach anyone. The phone shuts off after so many taped sayings. There is silence. I would say that aren't even operating? I feel like this company is not in compliance with being in business.

I was horrified to find under my own name a listing of old traffic citations from 2006 to 2008 with Instant Checkmate's libelous comment about "possible criminal records" making it look as if I am a criminal. I have repeatedly asked by phone and by email that this company to remove my listing, to no avail. This is vicious marketing at its worst. Clearly this is done to entice someone into paying them a fee to find out the "lurid details" when in fact there are none. Where is the consumer protection from libel?

I was happy with the results Instant Checkmate provided, but after not needing the service again I tried to cancel my account and although the call goes through to customer service, it is NEVER answered. Even a good product loses its appeal if customer service is bad!

Do you understand cancel. You gave me a cancelation number, yet you kept billing me month after month. I have all sorts of purchases on my credit card, had to cancel that to end this nightmare! Yes you're a crooked company. Why else all the different names you bill customers with. Want something to report? Try the truth about your firm.

This company has me living in Florida, Georgia, and getting in some legal trouble in Arizona. I've never lived in Florida nor Georgia, and the legal trouble in Arizona wasn't possibly as at the time of the incident, I was at work in Colorado. Then when I went to use the opt out feature, it conveniently doesn't send the opt out confirmation link. The process won't let you opt out even though it has lies posted about you. I'm so mad I'm going to go see my Senator and my Congressman when their offices open back up.

I have contacted my attorney and sent them a link to my search results on their platform which falsely claims I have criminal records, which I do not. I have found the same false claims in searches for other people I know. I demand that they immediately remove any and all information about me from their fraudulent site(s) and I will be seeking damages for the damaging and false search results attributed to me.

They are fake. They promote fake. Do not subscribe to this agency. This agency is only asking questions about an individual instead of giving you information about an individual. Never give information to an agency that questions you about information that you're looking for about individual let alone you subscribe and paid for the information. You will be given them more recommendation instead of you getting a recommendation from them.

I signed up for 1 report. (Okay bits of information - not really impressed) and they ended up charging my card for three months (before I caught it). Don't Sign up for this!!! Under my Subscription - it said I signed up for: "1 Report." Ended up billing for months!

Has been 95% accurate on finding the people I was looking for. I would recommend your service to anyone trying to find accurate information on people. I used it to find old Army buddies. Very useful and well organized. Merry Christmas!

I was trying to find my criminal background - when I searched it said it had all kinds of information. Then after I paid it said I did not have a criminal record. I have an extensive criminal background. I could have found more on Google. When I ask for a refund they said they could not do it because they did not guarantee the results or the information.

I am the only person with my first name, and on your site you have me listed with my first and last name, age, birth month and year, and where I have lived. This is not the case of multiple people having the same name. However, you gave me a fake middle initial. I don't have a middle name. This is a scam. Don't tell me how sorry you are that I am having a problem; the problem is with you. Remove my information, please. This is the second time I have gone through the opt-out.

I have tried in vain to Opt Out of Instant Checkmate for the past week. My background check is filled with untruths and inconsistencies. According to Instant Checkmate the Opt Out procedure is as easy as falling off a bicycle; "We understand why someone might want their name removed from the Instant Checkmate database. That’s why we make opting out of Instant Checkmate easy. Simply search for your report and select the report you'd like to have removed. You will then receive a confirmation email which will require you to confirm the record you wish to remove. That's it!"

Thought I was paying for one month. But I have been paying for over a year. I am very dissapointed in in that. I only get about $100 a month and taking almost $30 and sometimes taking it twice a month, is just so unfair. I have learned that it is better not to use a c.c number to buy anything on line.

This service has been very helpful. It has helped me keep in touch with people I lost contact with for a few years. It's also helped me reconnect with relatives. The platform is easy to maneuver. Keep up the good work!

Their Opt out is fake! I have Opt'd out twice, and my information somehow reappears within a few weeks. Their support sucks. They claimed they were going to purge all my info from Google, another lie! When I search my phone number on Google, it comes up with their website info, and my name. My next step will be legal action, to resolve this fraud!

I would recommend this search site. Checkmate is not ordinary. They research very carefully to give you the right information. Other sites don't do their research. In one site the information for one seeking to find me. Was not only incorrect information but had me working as a nurse instead of SAG performer. The girl that they showed to others never, ever looked like me. How they got some kind of information and a picture is a puzzle to me.

IC has me listed on their open, public website as potentially having 24 criminal records, including sex offender status in AZ. My name is not common, my age is accurate, my current zip code is as well. They confirmed that I do not in fact have a criminal record, but their public interface suggests otherwise. Their data collection techniques are problematic to say the least. I have no idea how long this false and libelous information has been on their website.

Overall I have had a good experience with Instant Checkmate. It has often helped me to locate people from my distant past whom I never thought I would be able to find again. Unfortunately I occasionally find that there is very little information on some people I look up.

Tried the "trial version" for a small fee and found that everything accessed was an attempt to get more money for "premium" access (or whatever it was called). So, I made sure I cancelled in time and via instructions. Never heard another word from Instant Checkmate until...six months later. Instant Checkmate ran a nearly $200 "fee" through my credit card. I called them up, and they told me it was for "six monthly service charges". Also, the rep claimed that the business had been billing each month (six charges), so "it has to be the credit card company not debiting your account each month, so it's just now showing up" (of course the transaction was for a single lump sum -- I wasn't that stupid).

I was tired of searching the internet for a high school reunion and needed to find old schoolmates. The application finds about 75% of my searches but the information is not vetted and often mixes correct and incorrect data. It does provide related contacts of the target but the system does not distinguish between current and former marriages. It searches every time for sexual predators and there is no way to exclude that metric. Every month I look up 2 to 5 people for various reasons. I wish it were more accurate but from their ads it seems you get what you pay for. They always solicit more in depth searches circa fee.

Your customer service line kept me on hold for 10 mins, so I chose to leave my number for you to call back. You never did. So, why did you triple my membership fee? I was paying $9/month, now you want a whopping $21??!

This service has allowed me to get an idea of the person I am calling as well as providing contact information. I also do checks on kid's friend's parents for safety. We have used CHECKMATE for over a year. This service offers us the opportunity to locate people that are often hiding. It provides friends and relatives and phone numbers of contacts. It also provides email and other social media contact info. We are satisfied with the service and would recommend that anyone interested in locating "lost" people should try this service.

For the most part I am satisfied with the information provided by Instant Checkmate but I wish it would go further before having to pay for premium information and even when you pay the premium add on it just doesn't go far enough. I'm sure there are probably some legal reasons but it would be nice to have more for less!

I am having the most horrible time trying to opt my information, a lot of it erroneous at that, out of this site. The directions are to search for your name and once you find your profile, simply click remove. Easy enough, right? Not for me! Even though my profile is completely out there for anyone doing a Google search to see on their site, as soon as I type my name to opt it, I get a message that I cannot be found...though my profile still openly shows on their site. I have called their customer service and had to hang up after an hour on hold. An email response never happens either. I am at my wit's end; I need my profile removed from their site. With all of their inaccuracies and personal information, this places me in a dangerous position. I wish someone would help. Someone needs to follow up on this immediately!

The opt-out feature on this website is fake. They never send a confirmation email. Other reviewers have said the same and they've done nothing to fix it. I guess the next step is to write my hyper-libertarian representative in Congress and have him deal with it the hard way.

I subscribed to Instant Checkmate in 2014 to a buy a report for one use. I immediately unsubscribed and recently found out that they have been charging my Paypal account $22.80 every month since then. It was actually my wife's account and she thought it was something else until we recently figured it out. Did not even know what it was. I called them and knowing they were wrong, I was immediately credited back for one-year. I demanded the entire amount and I was told system limitations prevented that. I was directed to write to them at a support email address which I know would get me nowhere. I am very angry and feel completely deceived by this company. I tried to resolve it peacefully with them, but am not satisfied, so I feel others should know about their practices.

Would not let me log in. Kept saying to create a new address. I don’t like things that take up my time when there should be a problem after first phone call but problem was never resolved. Had excellent service first time though.

Ease of use of such a large amount of not just complete but accurate information makes the service fee completely worth every penny. I also appreciate the convenience of features that are stable and built into the user interface efficiently for you to use. Thanks to the ICM team and everybody behind its efficiency.

Save your money. Very little information. Constantly wanting you to upgrade to a more expensive package. Canceling as we speak... We need to run a background check for new employees and Checkmate provides us with almost no help. We have gone to a different source.

I found it to be very useful in finding old friends and also researching who was spam calling me or missed calls. My only complaint is that to do stronger searches I needed to pay more, the service is great but too expensive to include emails and phone number lookup, they should all be included in the lower price.

Instant Checkmate provided the information I needed about a man I was dating. It is great to be able to confirm someone is who they say they are. It also allowed me to see what information was available for me and my family. I highly recommend!

I ordered the monthly reverse phone number look up. It took to long getting past the constant up sales to the needed information and less then half the time the information was accurate. I switched to a different service where its quicker since l don't have to constantly say no to the intrusive advertising checkmate does asking if l want to add more services. If l want more services I'll let you know. I shouldn't be forced to click out of the intrusive pop up every few seconds that won't let me continue unless l answer them.

Instant Checkmate makes it look like they offer you a chance to opt out, but they require you to reply to a "confirmation email." They never send this email, so no opt out is possible. Need to fix this Kafkaesque nightmare.

While I do enjoy using the product, I stopped using your service because you do not accept American Express. If you just pass the cost of the transaction fees to the consumer, we would still use the service.

I don't care for the endless, useless information regarding the neighbors of related people to the person I'm researching. Not enough current info. It's mostly relatively old data. Some helpful information, a lot of info re: associated persons was inaccurate and based on past addresses. Also, the report is way too long to print not printer friendly at all.

Truthfinder is good but Instant Checkmate is way better. More information and the timelines are really needed to put it all together. Not to mention that if using Truthfinder there's no way you would receive this much info in your report without paying more and more money.

I went online searching for myself and it said that I had a criminal record on my name. Since I don't have charges or a criminal record I was scared that someone stole my identity so to investigate I paid $26 for nothing. You all are thieves and liars. I don't have a criminal record or tickets in my name and you made it look like I did which is why I paid as I was afraid someone stole my identity! I want a refund ASAP!

This company did a good job with my need for a report but then they would not accept my cancellation and went into my bank account and took more money than was authorized. I have tried to reach by phone and email and get cut off or cannot reach anyone.

Love this tool! I do a lot of genealogy research using Ancestry.com and use Instant Checkmate as my research tool to fill the gaps in ancestries. Would highly recommend it to anyone researching genealogies. I have used this tool for over 3 years and it has got me over some big hurdles in family history.

Pretty easy to find people. You sometimes need to tweak the results to exclude similar results with other people who share the name. Knowing someone's birth date and/or relatives helps tweak the results. Pretty in depth finds once you have the right person.

InstantCheckMate.com FALSELY posted that I have a criminal record. I absolutely DO NOT have any kind of criminal or arrest record. They removed my information upon request, but how many people have seen this and how many jobs/contracts did I NOT get because of this? Obviously, they do NOT have accurate information and are still posting it. Their tiny (!) disclaimer that the information cannot be used for employment purposes is ridiculous - who controls that? I am now self-employed - how many people don't use my services because of this false and damaging information? Also, as soon as my information got removed from one of these horrible websites, it appeared on another. My guess is that they either sell the information or that MyLife.com / Truthfinder.com / PublicDataDigger.com are all connected. Please, somebody NEEDS to stop them from hurting people!

A year ago I signed up for Instant Checkmate for a 30 day trial period. Since then Been Verified has been deducting my PayPal account and so has People Finders. I only signed up for Instant Checkmate and now I am being charged $75 a month for all 3. I have cancelled them numerous times and they are still fraudulently charging me. I have only used the Instant Checkmate service once and have never heard of the other two companies. It’s a scam and I believe they are selling my information to other companies! I want my money back from all 3 of these scammers for the entire year or I will retain an attorney. These sites are garbage!!

Despite offering people the ability to opt-out by selecting their information and requesting a confirmation email to be sent to confirm the opt-out process -- no confirmation email is ever sent. I have tried several times to complete the process, tried several emails, and always checked spam folders and yet they refuse to send an email which would allow me to opt out.

The number to this business called my personal cell phone. I have never heard of this business and have never been called before. The person (a male) said "aw, hi grandma". I told him this wasn't grandma and then he proceeded to use every expletive on me possible. What? Is this normal for a company? Because it seems right up the alley of the scammers that call me regularly. I called the number back and the computer said to be ready with the email address you use for their business. I don't use their service so I'd love to know why I am being called and attacked on the phone by one of your representatives.

Have used many background services in the past but this is the best. Easy to manage your account, great search engine for finding people, and comprehensive reports that can be easily downloaded. I will never use another service. Highly recommended!

You can find more info yourself on Google. Don’t waste your money. All they gave me was the name and birthdate of the person, which happens to be a convicted criminal, drug dealer, has a DUI, and bankruptcies. Yet none of that information was provided by your site. Why take peoples’ money without providing the service? If no information on a person is given, then don’t charge for giving them nothing! Waste of time! Now I have to try and cancel my recurring subscription.

I use Checkmate on a regular basis. Compared to Google, US Search, and a couple of other places I have tried, I would give Checkmate a score of 11 out of 10. Easy to use, extremely fast, and very accurate. We had been looking for a lost relative for five YEARS using other methods. Checkmate found her in five MINUTES. Thank you Checkmate!

I do a lot of mail-outs and often the county information is hopelessly out of date. Instant Checkmate is easy to use and has fairly accurate data and saves a lot of time going to other databases for information. Once, I hired a retired detective to find a person, spent a lot of money and time on fuel and effort without finding the person I was looking for.

It is easy and I found things about me I had forgotten. It is a great service. I recommend it. It was easy to get, easy to navigate, detailed and accurate. I am so glad I have it. I feel informed and more secure. Also, very affordable.

Though they were forced to provide the option of opting out, Instant Checkmate is hoping it isn't reported for making the online opt out option worthless. It simply doesn't work. Even if you have a Gmail account it won't send the link to confirm opt out. So far five coworkers of mine have tried, looked in their spam folders and nothing... Not a single link sent. I guess they need further pressure from the government.

So far after only an hour or so, I was able to locate my niece and nephews. I had lost track of them when my brother passed away. I probably know their addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. I think my sister-in-law is still living and with one of my nephews. They are college grads and established in careers. I'm still disseminating. I'm sure I'll learn more.

Overall I am satisfied with Checkmate, I was able to find most relatives and was satisfied with my friend search also. Some people just do not want to be found, however, I am still satisfied with how fast and easy is to locate important people in my life. Recommend to a friend.

I tried to log into my premium Checkmate account last night. Without success. I was on hold after calling for 1/2hr, then told I would receive callback. NOT. I tried again this morning and got basically the same results as before. I called and spoke to rep. I was told that all the past information on persons I searched and had them store for my immediate or future use WAS GONE. Information on the information hwy or stored on a computer does not just vanish. It was hacked my suspicions. I have the feeling their computers were hacked and the many dozens of searches I did are in other's hand other than mine or the main system of Instant Checkmate. P.S. My acct was the premium and had data beyond just the basic searches.

I could not access the program. Amir helped me find out why I was having difficulty. He was able to guide me through what was needed to get into the program. Amir was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. Amir was very positive and very polite. I REALLY appreciate his patience since I am a senior citizen and have difficulty understanding technology. I have been using this service for years and I think it is better than anything else out there. I have memory problems and when people contact me saying they know me, I can check. This saves me considerable embarrassment AND keeps me secure from online predators.

I'm happy with the application. No doubt about it and it has been very helpful. It would be nice to perhaps have an "Advanced Search" capability. As suspected, you will populate a number of results and it can be limited because you don't entirely know the age or location of the person. One would then have to go through each based on a rough idea of the parameters, "This person would probably be mid 30s is my guess and I think they may have lived in GA before but so have several others, etc., hmmm". If there was a way to have an Advanced Search to where you could put keywords about the person you are seeking that could narrow it down even further.

I spoke with Kris today employee # **. He was so helpful finding all my options and very patient with my questions! I'm very happy with the conversation and experience over the years and will recommend Instant Checkmate to other people when they need these type of services.

Finding current contact info for folks I've not seen in 40 yrs - 95% of folks searched for I was able to discover at least one working number/email/address for. Considering I have had almost no luck through white pages or Google prior to this system, I am damned thrilled with it! Your timeline section is an enormous help for determining if I have the correct person. It is odd how many folks have no information re spouses/previous spouses--especially when I was at their wedding. In most cases, the only mention of a marriage is on property purchases under whom buyer/seller is.

I signed up for Instant Checkmate as I was mislead thinking this was a one time fee for a search. It turned out to be a monthly billing, and I never received a report that I searched for. I have not accessed this again as I thought it was a one time charge per their misleading ad. Billed multiple times, no information was ever provided for the one search and I have not even accessed the account since and this vendor will not refund any of the money they have billed for over a year.

I found everything I was looking for and more! This is a great site!!! You will get information that you were not expecting! You will be able to find information about the neighborhood you live in or are going to live in. It will let you know people that are relatives that you may not know about.

I have tried several times, using multiple email addresses, to have my information removed by using Instant Checkmate's "Expedited Opt Out" service. They are refusing to send the confirmation email necessary to complete the opt out service required by law in my state. A business cannot advertise a service it does not actually provide. This is North Carolina Law, and they are breaking it.

I've not had any issues on this site. I have had instances where I could find more info on criminal just from Google than here, and on the occasion that I've ordered more, I've found it mostly similar to the original with little additional info. Those time have not been worth the extra money.

This site is very concise and accurate making that search to find lost friends, family, etc very easy. The report provides sufficient previous information that helps determine you have likely found the right person and where they can be reach currently. I have found many of my high school classmates using this service.

Ran personal report on myself. Report has only my birthdate and address correct. It contains my son's work and educational history and not mine. The report has my middle name as LEWIS when it is actually **. After calling Instant Checkmate I was told that there was nothing they would do to correct the report. I consider the report, as no doubt others would as well, to be a total waste of both time and money.

Very vague in the information. I feel like I went to a bad psychic who walked away with my money. Does not have dates of marriage or divorces. Doesn't state if person was in the military. Many inaccurate information. Did not have complete and accurate information of related family members. Was not helpful at all. I did a better job finding information on my own.

As an Australian I engaged the services of Instant Checkmate to search for a cousin I believed to be in the United States. Whilst I only used the service once, I was unaware due to my own personal oversight, that I had actually agreed to a monthly subscription with Instant Checkmate. It wasn't until some years down the track that I realized that monthly deductions had been taken from my bank account for a service I only used once.

Tamera was very good and patient. She took a lot of time to help me when there were many problems. I recommend her highly. There was trouble with my account in that it automatically or without my desire cancelled my account. She straightened it all out.

I find this website very effective, and I feel it is the best quality search service. I am very satisfied, and I will recommend this website to all my educational friends. All my background information that is known, and retrievable is at my fingertips to explore.

In the beginning it "appears" to be somehow "free" information. Then after 10 minutes of waiting for the slide bars to finish, you are "hit" with a ridiculous charge. You can go to a state judiciary site and get information faster and free!!!

I really enjoy having this service because I take care of mentally ill and elderly people, but it can get pricey when I pay for the service every month and pay for every premium finding that I need. When owning a facility we need to do thorough background searches on clients, helpers, family members, etc... Couldn't there be a price that is set for everything instead of nickel and dime pricing ($20.00 extra dollars is pricey for us working facilities). Please let me know. This information is so out of date it is unbelievable. This was very expensive and the information for current address was 14 years out of date. I ran this on my husband of twelve years and I wasn't even listed as one of the people he knew. Don't waste your time or money! It's not real and don't even pay for the added fees because you don't get anything from that either.

My experience with Instant Checkmate has always been great. They have helped me out a lot and when I do not need to use the site for months at a time it is easy to cancel membership if needed. Other than that, overall, great help and great information is provided.

I do enjoy the site and get a lot of information. I just wish I could see a bit more detail without having to pay more money. I already pay a monthly fee. Other than that I do not have any real issues with this site.

I ran a check on myself and was both shocked and amused by what I found. Fully a quarter of the info. is wrong. You had me living in Oregon and West Virginia. Never have. The funny thing is that you have me living at three different addresses simultaneously. Many of the relatives and acquaintances you have me down for are total mysteries to me. The only thing I can think of is that some of these people lived at addresses I once lived at, in some cases over thirty years ago. Or perhaps they are using a recycled phone number of mine.

My initial thoughts about the site were good... I looked everywhere to see if this was going to be another one of those sites that charge you a monthly fee then start tacking on additional fees for other features. From what I could see, they seemed legitimate and gave no indication that there would be additional fees to see additional content so I signed up and right off the bat it's $34.78 and once you're inside the site... It's an exact replica of TruthFinders, MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT then sure enough the additional fees started coming. $2.99 if you want the ability to save the report you just spent $34.78 on, an extra $23.40 for phone number search, extra $7.99 a month for email reports.

Data page too difficult to manage on my machine. Too sensitive to placement... data was good. I find your service useful, but the previous system for communication and feedback was more stable and faster and easier to understand. Used this service to self-check and compare with background check from work. This service lists multiple people with same name from multiple states with multiple addresses, crime and arrest information. When I saw my report and saw I lived in states I've never been to, arrested for crimes I have NEVER committed as well as being on a states sex registry. Called the people and of course, morons at a call center saying there is nothing that can be done. This is a dangerous site. The misinformation could lead to wrongful terminations, police inquiries and a multitude of negative life altering treatment from job opportunities to the communities you live in. Stay away and use government approved background software. This is **. Dangerous, incompetent **.

I use this site often to locate old friends and coworkers. I have been successful in almost every search in finding the right person. It is reasonably priced per month and the reports are comprehensive. I recommend this site to anyone for locating persons.

You have me listed as living in Michigan City IN and Portage IN. That information is totally inaccurate. I only live in Michigan City. I have never lived in Portage a day in my life. I have been through Portage a few times but I never actually lived there. I see a fingerprint posted by name right side of court records. What you're say is that I have a criminal history. I most certainly did not. I am a Christian man and a law abiding citizen. I have never been arrested or convicted in a court of law a day in my life. Nor do I intend to either. You need to start retracting that information from your records effective immediately.

My husband has recently (in the last year) run repeated background checks on me, for his own reasons. This particular site has most of the information correct, as it is clear it is pulled from LinkedIn and other such sites I have been a part of, which is why it appears to be accurate. The problem is that some of what is there is DATED. It does not differentiate what is current, or how old the information is. Additionally, the dates of many items are NOT accurate, such as WHEN I lived certain places, off up to a decade. But the primary issue is this: it lists "possible relationships." It has listed a person that I DO NOT KNOW. I finally discovered that I went to school with this person, for EIGHT WEEKS, ten years ago.

Every time I try to remove my information, they say this: "Your email has been sent! If you don't see it, please be sure to check in your "bulk email" or "spam" folder." I have checked everywhere, tried different accounts, with the same results. They will NOT send you the confirmation e-mail, thus preventing you from opting out. Very frustrating.

As unhappy and annoyed as I am by the fact that I have better things to do; I feel compelled to write this, in hopes that individuals considering subscribing to this site will understand that "Instant Checkmate" isn't exactly the amazing service it purports to be. I entered my name in the search bar this evening, because when I did so several years ago, lots of photos, my phone number, address, etc., all popped up, and I was hoping I had been successful in removing it all (I was). Instant Checkmate was one of the few search results with my name, so I randomly clicked on the site, and discovered that apparently, unbeknownst to me, I am a felon! (Actually, I'm not).

I bought a three month plan, needing to run a check on a few people whom I KNEW had felony convictions in the past. I ran the reports on those individuals, and surprisingly, those convictions were not on the reports. I ran a report on myself. I saw a few traffic violations from twenty years ago, and the option to remove them. Hmmm, what good does running a background check with this company when people are allowed to go in and eliminate negative info about themselves? I also saw errors on mine in the assets section, which did not list any of my vehicles. Ran a report for an ex-coworker who owns a home yet no home was listed for him. Marriage info is not in the reports. Educational info is not in the reports. Essentially, little of use was in the reports. A waste of time and money.

I already know most of what you have. You want more money to find phone numbers and I am not getting any e-mail reports, I paid for. Need more updates. I am about to commit myself to a man. My credit card information was stolen and used to sign up for this shady website. When I called to cancel, they needed all of my information to access the account. I shouldn't have to give my credit card number to a complete stranger to cancel a membership I didn't even want. I could understand giving the last four digits, but this is insane. Thank God the card has been cancelled and no one can use that number. If I could give their customer service zero stars, I would.

Good depth of information available. Gives an opportunity to correct inaccurate data. Criminal records need to rely more on birth dates where possible. Many criminal records do not apply since names and locations are similar. It does tell you that many may not apply.

It seems to be gone now when I search. Thank you very much for resolving this Instant Checkmate member services. I hope this opt out bug can also passed along to your engineering to fix.

Service is good. I found more than I expected over and over again. As long as I'm doing computer dating, I will continue to use this service. Before I go out on that first date, I email myself the profile (having read it myself) in case something happens to me. My family knows to check.

Checking records. At times it's easy but as you go down the list the information is for others with same name, or you have a standard for license for Controlled substances. At first I got anxious over the report, had to realized the person would not have an EPA number. I think I got excited to see someone I knew was under that domain. Other than that I think so far you are fairly accurate.

I am still waiting on payment back to my credit cards for something I cancelled within the time frame allotted. The company took it upon themselves to keep charging. I cancelled again. But, when I went on to check, I was still being charged.

I was unable to get into my account and had to make another under my secondary e-mail address. I don't know why this happened, I keep all my account logins in RoboForm and it has never failed me. One account is all I need, but now I have two. Thanks.

It looks like the data can be several years old. Location addresses and social profiles like Indeed and LinkedIN do not match those that I can find myself. Same with phone numbers and email addresses. The numbers given to me are almost never in the contact list. This means that current info is not in your reports. Can you date stamp your reports?

I have tried to opt out of having my data on their website multiple times. I never receive the confirmation e-mail they say has been sent. I check all my folders, including spam, but it is not to be found in any of them. I want to opt out and would appreciate having this e-mail sent to me so I can.

For the most part I like it but sometimes the searches need a little workaround to find what I'm looking for. The phone numbers very rarely are accurate though. Though they sometimes are and that's good. The emails seems to be accurate a lot of the times.

I utilize it so often I can't say that I don't find it helpful. My biggest thing is obvious inaccuracies, like how my name ha(d)/(s) photos of someone much older than I am. And my husband's info is nothing more recent than 10 years ago, the house we purchased together, email addresses, and phone numbers. I did a search for myself to see what was contained in my online information. Instant Checkmate was one of the links that came up from a Google search. I pursued it, and some information appeared to be accurate, but then it stated that there was a hit on a criminal conviction. I haven't even had a speeding ticket for over 20 years. It takes forever and I never did get verification of my record.

Checkmate took over my phone. All I did was enter my name on a Checkmate.com page that popped up on my screen. I had recently received a trail week from PeopleFinders and cancelled the day before Checkmates came after me. Now I hear notifications and it's THEM making me complete pages that will take me to point of payment which I don't want. I've tried going back. All I did was search my name and now they took over my phone. I can't turn off its notifications and I can't unsubscribe! They suggest that there are bad records about me but there can't be. This morning I awake to "Stea **. Been arrested recently?" WHAT ON EARTH? HOW DO I GET THESE PEOPLE TO LEAVE ME ALONE?

I been on this site many times. Always found myself. I paid one time then cancelled subscription. Came back just to check on my "stats" and I do not show up at all. Some lady that is 50 does {I am only 29}. Then when I put in my age it came up with 2 30 year olds with different middle initial and one was from NY. I lived in NJ for 22 years and most of the rest of my years in pa! So what’s going on? I am on SSI, I went to college, have signed up for many things on many sites, have Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites including my own blog. Plus was arrested once. Had 8 days in jail and community service a misdemeanor! I obviously am on several different types of public, private exact places... So not finding me now makes no sense. I like because I cancelled my subscription. After a few days they deleted me. Just erased me from their site! Also could not find my mother or father either!

I’m trying long time to remove my name from that site but they don’t give me that option. They are violating my privacy by publishing some bunch of lies regarding my background. They are located in San Diego, CA.

Sometimes other programs pass me over to Checkmate and there's no way to log in when it goes through what seems like hours of searching. It would be nice if when it got to the screen to pay for the item, you'd also have an option to log in if you have an account. I've also noticed the information is not that accurate. I searched on someone I knew and it was saying they were born with their married name vs maiden name. One would think with all the information out there that Checkmate could pull up accurate info about who a person married and what HS they attended, etc.

Received a refund from this business so case is resolved. While I remain unimpressed with their data, I appreciated their willingness to resolve the issue.

After doing a checkmate on three individuals I found the information provided was incomplete and omitted know court judgments. Even when indicating a criminal or court record no information on the record is provided without paying another $19.99 which is not identified as additional cost when you first join. Don't waste your money on this website!

Good so far. Worth the price. Pictures are not actual. I found my cousin on here. Interesting facts about others. My picture was not right but facts were, I enjoy looking other people up. I look forward to looking more people up.

Undoubtedly the most dishonest, unhelpful, worthless support I've ever experienced. I was repeatedly lied to (the card will be charged tomorrow, the card will be charged in 8 days, the information is correct, the information is incorrect, the supervisor said they will definitely take care of this, I'll talk to the supervisor... the lies go on and on). Just letting you know Gail and Nadine and both of their supervisors are either the laziest, dishonest, nefarious people I've ever talked to on the phone or the company itself is or both. In case you can't tell I don't like to be being lied to and to have something as simple as update billing information become such a major ordeal. Great Service and very big help to make sure you're doing business with ethical and honest professionals. We were also able to Check our OWN records and remove some large inaccuracies. I have been also able to locate former Army and Work associates with whom I have lost touch.

For this search and for Instant Checkmate in general, I rate the service highly for accuracy, and completeness of data including location, phone, email, social media and date of birth, as well as some history of work and such.

Incorrect home addresses, emails, phone numbers, employment and education. Due to hacking and ID theft, information on this site, and others like it, will not be updated for accuracy. My advice to others looking for TRUE info is to go directly to the source (ex: state websites for court records). Sites such as this are clearly misidentifying people.
