I've had limited experience with Instant Checkmate but found them very easy to work with. To add, I was (unintentionally) signed up for an annual use with a monthly fee. When I called to inquire they assisted in changing this status for me and issued a refund. This was very helpful to me as I don't need this service often; however, when I do, I will definitely use them again.

Called the 800 number and my call was answered immediately. Nora asked questions to find out what I was after as not to waste our time. I really appreciated Nora’s thoughtful answers. She told me what the right answers were, NOT just what I wanted to hear. So refreshing considering the difficult situation that I’m trying to get answers to and a resolution for.

Use the program to get address info on long lost members of our organization. Very easy to use. Very friendly and useful when I had to ask for help. (once in over 18 months of daily usage). All steps are defined and easily read.

I was in need of getting several addresses for the family of a deceased relative. Service was good but I needed to go through another company to get results. This one was very expensive to use. I cancelled with both companies. Will not use again.

seems like an OK site, but there's a lot of misinformation on it. I imagine it's great for finding people, or a quick way to find stuff that's in public records. Just wasn't what I needed. It was very interesting though.

I found that the information wasn’t always accurate. Apparently names get mixed up when they are close to the same. To be honest I am too old for this stuff. If I had a business it would make a difference.

My representative name was Marco. Marco was very helpful in getting me reinstated with Instant Checkmate again, and he was very patient and understanding. Made sure I was happy with the services he rendered. This young man is an asset to your company, in other words he's a keeper.

I only used this company’s service for a short time but I was very pleased with what they offered and the ease in which I was able to find information I was looking for... Their customer service is excellent cancelling my account my was a breeze. In the future if I need services like this again Instant Checkmate will be the company I use.

I can't speak of the company yet, because I'm just getting started. I can speak of the girl who helped me and signed me up. She was "sensational". She was knowledgeable, caring, patient and kind. Definitely an asset to your company.

The reports were sometimes spotty on information and my cancellation didn’t go through around May 28 and I was billed for for June however I call and talked to your service rep. Within 5 mins she had the refunded the money and cancelled the subscription. I’d definitely use your service again with this nice and efficient quality support!

I found Instant Checkmate to be quick and easy to use. It does contain information that I did not find useful (e.g. neighbor information) and did not have information that I would of liked to see (e.g. marital status). In several instances the relative information was not complete and some was just incorrect.

Checkmate is very easy to cancel if you decide you don't need anymore. Rep was friendly, helpful and not pushy to keep subscription. I may return.. lol. I did find out all I was looking for, thank goodness it was all good.

I called to question a charge (to a credit card I don't use anymore (but is still activated)) from Instant Checkmate (IC). I need to say upfront the the person I talked to (Lindsey (sp?)) was very courteous and helpful. That being said, although it was my responsibility to notice, I guess, I would've appreciated it if IC had a program in place to help with these "double accounts" (again, I take responsibility).

I wish my total experience with Instant Checkmate had been as positive as this final contract with your telephone representative. But, due to illness, I have been paying for this account unknowingly since its inception, but not using it, which is very distressing.

Agent followed by instructions and cancelled automatic billing. Competent and pleasant to work during the call. He worked with supervisor to review and correct the account and billing and was knowledgeable and efficient. This review is from a verified customer.

On 4-22-21 I was very fortunate to receive one if not the finest examples of assistance from a gifted professional customer service representative named Marisa. She combines her natural instincts with subject matter knowledge to quickly adjust her tempo of verbal exchange. Without patronizing me as a sick 73 year old customer exhibiting a need for slower, easy to understand and patient dialogue, she soon satisfied all of my questions. Additionally, she also educated me about, who, what, where and why explanations for my own further problem solving. Having that very important self confidence is extra work for so very kind of her to empower me.

I looked into finding my husband's children. I was surprised when this site came up. After looking into it I found it very easy and informative. The download PDF was giving me some problems but I was able to get the reports I needed.

I searched myself! Despite being offered the opportunity to choose the correct people to whom I am related the others listed were included. It was stated at the end that I had 14 criminal cases against me which totals 14 lies. I am ex military and have worked as a government contractor with a secret clearance. I've also been cleared by SLED numerous times, including in the last month, due to working with mental health patients. I've had a total of maybe 5 or 6 traffic violations in my entire life and they stated I had "many".

You get your information but it is too pricey. I also think that for the cost then you should not have to pay another fee for certain reports. And you should be able to go month to month without a subscription.

Yesterday I called in to cancel my subscription. A woman answered the call after a 5 minute wait. She was kind, pleasant and knowledgeable. I even received an email confirmation, which gave me reassurance. I’d use this website in the future if the need arose.

I needed to find out the date of death of a person so I could request an informational death certificate from the County of Los Angeles for a property transaction where the title never got changed to the buyer. Checkmate had a special deal and it was very convenient and easy to use. I was suppose to cancel before the 30-day trial and totally forgot, but when I got the notice from PayPal I made a phone call and they not only canceled without a hassle, they refunded my money (I called the same day and hadn't used the service in the new month). The customer service rep was very helpful and understanding. I will definitely use this service next year when I start the search for classmates for my 50-year high school reunion!!

I couldn’t believe that you listed the purchase of a property in the timeline. The purchase had occurred less than 6 months prior to my search. You truly have the most current information. That was the only way I was able to find the address I needed.

This website was for my own purpose. Checking my own background had a lot of info missing & wrong info also. Other ones I checked some were right on, others not so much. I saw info that was shocking. I do not know if this is a reliable website but it is a start. Also had checked out criminals in our area, was good to see and was surprised to know that so many are in our areas. I wanted to check this website out because I had a person that came back into our life after a very long time & was not sure where or if we or I wanted this. After checking this person out I felt safe & happy that I feel comfortable with my decision. And want to thank you for the info you had on this person which was accurate. Well it seems there are a lot of discrepancies.. One report will have my right age, then if I go to a relative's report it will show me as one of their relatives and have my age wrong? But like my criminal history has 2 traffic things that never show up anywhere and a dwi that normally never shows up but things that show up like ai or pi don't show up. Not that I want some things showing up but there's no consistency. My report shows me owning only 1 vehicle and it's not even a vehicle I have owned.. It shows me not having a ccw in Ky, I do have one lol.. Just saying it's kinda hit and miss. If I was looking up someone else's I would never know if it was accurate or not based on what mine shows me.. I know certain things on mine if true or not so I can fact check it. But I could never use this service to know for sure about someone else..

Your customer service agent was most helpful and was able to get to the bottom of the problem. It was that I was being double charged for an account that wasn’t even using. So at the end of it and they will give me a refund for that account that I wasn’t using and to straighten out and move forward to secure a promotional rate for my monthly subscription so I’m very pleased. The report received was accurate and thorough. There was a lot of detail that was included that I was unaware of, and was unexpected. It wasn't negative, but very eye opening as to what type of information is really out there.

It gives you all public record information that is 100% accurate. They really do a great job by having information that confirms that the subject is who you are interested in. It gives great detail until you’re wanting to go beyond the provided information which at that point requires additional funding but is even more useful because it expands on further into the subject to provide a great service!

Customer support was terrific and solved the issue. Only issue I could not resolve was a credit card address. Card mailing address is a PO Box and is different than physical address. IC would not allow yet all companies we deal with have the same as us. Why not allow this for businesses?

Was looking for a few different things that weren’t showing up. I was also looking for social media accounts under a different alias that didn’t show up. Already knew what was showed, was just looking for something different.

My old email address was used to open an account and investigate myself in 2017. I am disabled and do not work, why would I investigate myself. My husband realized this charge on my card and I did not recognize it. We called and were told what is was, that it was never used since activated but being charged monthly. They closed the account but said they would only return 12 months. Asked why only 12 months and the answer was, that is how far our system allows. How can a legitimate company acknowledging what has happened cannot return the full amount. Taking $$ from someone on SSDI, does not make a company trustworthy.

I called to cancel my trial subscription but it had already charged my account this morning. Lindsay was very friendly and helpful and not only canceled my subscription but also offered my a refund for the monthly charge! She also offered a reduced monthly rate but I chose to pass at this time. No pressure at all from her - just friendly service!

I was doing a phone check and all the info I got back was the phone companies information and it was out of date which is fine. I just see no reason to pay for a service that is going to charge me any time I want to get a report.

I was sent an email saying for 13 dollars I can get 30 days free. After one search I was cut off. Now they want 39 dollars and you have to pay for email check and extra for phone check and you will get charged 39 dollars a few times a month and also a dollar about ten time out of billing cycle. And after you call and tell them cancel you will still get charged. Do not get sucked into their scam and half of info is not correct so you can’t get a positive reading. All Bad. If you want a good site go to People Whiz. It very accurate. You pay one time a month. It’s free phone, emails. I tried everyone of these sites and they all suck except people whiz. Robert

I have never felt so unsafe in my life with scammers who claim to be one and they are not. Instant Checkmate helped me tremendously to remove those who are not legitimate and are only scammers. Thank you guys. I feel much safer this way with your verifications.

Checkmate does what it advertises - reveals otherwise difficult to obtain information about individuals. We found it useful recently when a home inspector gave misleading information about a home we were selling - checkmate revealed numerous problems with the individual, including tax evasion and other unhappy clients.

My call assistant Jake was very helpful in refunding me my money after confusing small print lead to me purchasing a plan I didn’t need or use. I appreciate the help and that there was only about a minute wait time.

I've had good results with the service and customer service. A little pricey compared to others but it is worth trying to see if it meets your needs. When it comes to cost one has to balance a recurring monthly charge vs. only paying for it when you need it.

I wanted to try out this service. I wanted to see how it works, so I did a background search on myself. It is a bait and switch. It came up saying criminal record found. I have no criminal record. I continued to work through it to see what else it says. Then it said possible criminal record found, key word "possible". In the end it took 15 mins to run through everything and then came up to a credit card screen. It makes up stuff in order to get you to purchase the report....

I discovered that Instant Checkmate has billing our credit card since 2018. An account was created using my husband’s email and they claim we only did background checks on ourselves. Why a person would open up an account and do background checks on themselves is suspect to me. I’ve called customer service and they assure me my account is closed. I’ve canceled my credit card so they can’t have any more money. They have promised to issue me a 12 month refund despite the fact that they scammed me for longer than that. They say 12 month refund is their max. I only got that after being told that 3 and 6 months is the max.

I found what I needed with no problems. Helpful in what I needed to find. Information was mostly useful, but some was not... Overall the product is good, but someone should only have to pay for a report and not do a subscription service!!

I was asked to complete this survey after my last call to IC. I’ve had to call several times with various questions. Each time I’ve been greeted with very courteous and professional people. They always answer my questions to my satisfaction. Although the last time I called I was unable to get a conclusive answer, we came to the mutual conclusion that the subject of the search must have been removed from public records for some reason. The subject’s name did not appear under a people, phone, or email search. His name did not appear as a relative to his brother, father, or wife. I found his name as relative to his mother, but got an error message (attached) when I tried to view report.

Everything is like right on & Perfect like 99.99998% of the time! I HAVE recommended it to like at least 8 different people! I AM SOOO HAPPY WITH IT! I JUST CAN'T EVEN SAY HOW HAPPY I AM ABOUT IT'S EXISTENCE & WILL CONTINUE TO USE IT IN THE FUTURE!

I signed up to use it once a few years ago. It wasn't particularly helpful but better than nothing. I signed up recently to use it again, and again it found very little information on who I was looking up, despite having all pertinent information and consent from who I was checking... Cut to a few months later and I realized they have been autobilling me every month as well. Simply avoid. I don't know how it has such high reviews.

The website was easy to use and accurate. I'd recommend it to anyone. Whether for dating, or checking out a potential tradesman, it's a great tool to have at your disposal. It could save you money, as well as a lot of heartache later.

I used this process to determine the person and length of time that my husband cheated on me. I was successful in finding out the year it started bu not so sure about the ending date. If I have more things that needs to be checked I'll use this service.

BEWARE! Very deceptive on their cancellation procedure. I cancelled my subscription in January. Thinking it all good I did not give the site a second thought. Today I just got billed for a service I do not want, use or need. I went back to the site to find my account that had previously stated "inactive", active. I cancelled it again. It takes 3 fen times to confirm you want out then still offers you a chance to save and offers to take 10 dollars off the subscription price. I again went through all the steps and the 3 times of clicking cancel my account and again got a confirmation email stating my account was cancelled.

I canceled my account because I only needed a report on one person. The customer service rep. was so nice which is such a pleasure. She made the cancellation without trying to talk me into keeping it. I would definitely recommend this to others.

The representative that I spoke with was courteous, attentive and patient and excellent in trying to resolve my concerns. The rep showed professional excellence and commitment to ensure my problem was intricately looked into. I am impressed at the competence and swift call to action without subjecting me to unnecessary long hold. I am encouraged.

This was so easy for me to find an old friend. I could go back to where I left off on your site. Customer service was 5 stars. I will be using service again. I would recommend this site to anyone looking for old friends.

I used Instant Checkmate for help finding address for classmates when we had our 45th class reunion this past year. I thought that a one time use was a flat rate and turned out to be a subscription that I had no intentions of using and then never did. My fault for not reading the service plan. The gal who helped me was terrific. She researched the history of the start date and refunded me the appropriate monthly fees. I used this service twice without recalling. Thought all was lost trying to find real owner of RV I purchased in early Nov. 2019. Was given a old non valid title and no other info from guy I bought it from disappeared and person he had gotten invalid title wouldn't cooperate either. Was able to obtain name of valid title holder. Then with the help of Instant Checkmate I got more information than friends at a large police dept. could even come close to. While the report failed to give me the information I was looking for regarding an aged open status on a dismissed court case the support from customer service was excellent. I called to cancel the subscription and Albert was very understanding and accommodating. He not only cancelled the subscription but also refunded my initial fee as the service did not give me the one item that I was using it to find. If I have the need for a background service again I would choose this one.

I found it to be very helpful in locating people from the past. I did find some of the phone number were not accurate. I tried to locate a niece who was missing since 2000. It seems that either someone is using her name because the person that answered phone didn't know her.
