Good service - easy to use. I found the people I was looking for very easily and was able to get in touch with friends from many years ago. All of the information I wanted on these people was available and they were happy to hear from me. This company is a total scam. They will get you in with a one off report search for $2.99, and then even though you do not sign up for a monthly installment they will go ahead and charge you $34.78 USD per month. This works out to nearly $55 AUD per month!! they are sneaky. You don't notice until you go searching where this extra debit came from. It took me a whole 3 months to figure this scam out. So total cost of this lesson $155. I have emailed the email listed as well as the phone number listed, only to NOT get a reply in over 4 weeks as well as the phone number does not pick up. This company is a scam and everyone who has been scammed should get together to sue them for our money back. I hate companies that take advantage of consumers this way.

If you have questions and are curious about someone. Checkmate can answer them. Police records, education, where they have lived and are living now. Employment and social or professional organizations. We can no longer say we live in an isolated world. You just have to know where to look and whom to ask.

Offer free reverse phone lookup and then you have to pay. Should be shut down for falsely getting consumers to pay, if it is it is free but you get nothing free. FTC should shut them down before I file and sue

I only checked 2 people and I was satisfied with what I found. It is simple even for a computer illiterate like me. Just don't be surprised at what you might find in someone's background and if you check yourself you might find something you had forgotten.

My go to source if I am wondering what has happened to someone. This service finds it quickly without having to sort through hundreds of names!! Would recommend it first. You won't be disappointed. Try it and see!! Yeah!! Yeah!!

My experience was good. I got the information I needed and the price was very reasonable. You could make downloading the reports a little easier. I wasn’t sure when the report was ready how to access it.

Too much money for the information and a re-occurring charge every month unless cancelled. I feel it would be nice with a one time charge. Use and return if needed. I would use again if I needed to run a new renter.

Your "timeline" has overlaying images when trying to print out a section or portion of it... very frustrating. When scrolling down the screen towards a more recent history event your timeline doesn't hold that position to make a printout... it rolls back up to the top again and shows an overlapping image which is unreadable.

I needed help getting into my account for the first time as I had typed my e-mail address wrong. The gentleman that helped me went above and beyond to get me into my account. He was very personable and extremely helpful.

Dear Checkmate, Thank you for the recent phone conversation I had with one of your reps; Mary Ann. I used your service in May and I just got a notification in my email that $34.78 had been charged to my Pay Pal account. Mary Ann explained that the original agreement was to call within 30 days to cancel my May registration. I had not remembered to do that. So, she canceled my checkmate account and made a refund to Paypal. I am not use to seeing this type of service. No hassle, no accusing remarks, insults, time delay. Wow! You are a great organisation in my mind. Regardless that I am canceling my membership. We need more honest, reputable companies like you to actually put the customer first in the world. He was friendly and professional 5 star rating and if I ever need this type of service again I would gladly use this company based on this experience, many times companies make it difficult to cancel but this was a pleasant experience!

You gave some good information, but it was very frustrating why you asked for an email address, because I tried to look up my own information and I wasn't able to because you said that my email address was already in use. Of course it was, because I was using it as I purchased a one month subscription for your services. I still think you should allow me to view my own report.

Nice to use to get an idea about the people you are in a relationship with. Found some things that I did not believe were accurate, especially in my report. It seems these websites like to confuse me with my sister because we are close in age.

From start to finish my experience was one very large headache. This company took payment for nothing. Then accused me of trying to conduct fraudulent affairs with my account. Although I have paid them I still have no up to date information about where my son is or how to get a hold of him. Checkmate is not a very honest or helpful company and are guilty of taking payment without providing the service they are being paid for.

I’ve had this for over a month now and really like being able to know a little more about neighbors and acquaintances. One neighbor is a convicted felon with a long rap sheet. Definitely recommend this to parents, folks who are dating and anyone concerned about who their neighbors are!

If you say something is going to cost so much that's how much it's the cost. Instead you charge one price so that you can charge another price so that you can charge another price and before you know it you spend more money than you would have if you would have used a different app they cost slightly more. First of all I didn't get any extra information that I couldn't have already got off the internet for free for myself. It's a scam and a total rip-off and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I found the information to be very helpful to me. Now I really know the person my son married. She has numerous aliases and many husbands she meet in the penitentiary. I would recommend this site to my friends, family and associates. It is very thorough and informative.

I found the area where we had to put in the date of immunizations manually but then get sent an email because they didn’t match to be frustrating and counterproductive. If there is a system in place to check our records, why would we have to in put manually? It seems counterproductive. Not to mention, much more time consuming. If it is already being checked, the manual input is redundant.

Next time just make it clear you will be charging more than 4.99. I will not pay more than what your site said. It would be thanks for nothing. A+ for the search Options The Advance Search feature with age which it eliminates time, and narrows down your search with best chances of finding that family member. Great Customer service. It's a trial and error finding someone. Do not give up. Continue to search for your loved one.

It was very informative and thank you, it came in very handy searching out my past schoolmates for our 50 year reunion. Found people I haven't seen in years. Also helped me find an old roommate from 40 yrs. ago. and now will be rejoined with him and my best friend who were dating at the time.

They draw your interest by taking forever to "collect info" on someone, showing you the slow ticking progress bar, which gives you the illusion that's it's actually gathering in depth info. Which is only a ploy. You can find all the same info on Google. However, that's not my issue. My issue is they steal money from you by disguising what you're paying for. You have to actually scroll to find it and click on their terms of service to see that they actually will continue to bill you every month until you cancel.

Information found on myself and others was inaccurate, not up to date. Paid thirty plus dollars for information that can easily be found for free on Google. A waste of time and money. I'd like my money back.

I ran 1 search on someone back in November. I never signed up for a subscription to the website. A few months later I noticed a charge from Instant Checkmate. I thought it must be a payment service that is processing a water bill or something like that because I didn't remember what the website was called that I ran the search at. Today, I called the number and found out that this website had been charging me monthly. They offered me a partial refund. Then they tried to short the amount I was being refunded by $6/mo. This website is a scam. Stay away.

Many items are way too general making the reports difficult to search. If you pay for the service you should be able to add more precise detailed data to retain a more thorough report. The dates are overextended and a lot of one's criminal history is as well.

IMO, this is one of the best websites I have found, designed to help lawyers and other people find out more about adversaries and their lawyers, as well as trace the whereabouts of missing heirs, deadbeats and people using aliases.

Most information appears accurate. A lot of additional content is inaccurate and not related to the subject search. This could be to throw off searchers who have bad intent, but offensive to the neutral party. When you know what you looking for, all is good,

Could not delete inaccurate data in my report. Categories did not advance, so could not delete. Tried, but no luck. Otherwise, info was good. Was easy to navigate. Could try condensing the printed data. 98 pages to print is way too much. Don't need maps, or info on neighbors from 20 years ago. Same with sex offenders in the area. Not necessary. Good information but lots of mix ups. My stepdad John ** (71 ** Texas) his BC information (relatives, school, jobs, addresses, everything) is mixed together with another John ** (idk age AA California). Their information is all combined. Same with me. Most of the relatives listed for me are incorrect "**" and it doesn't even show my mom at all.

Had a great experience. I don’t need to use it anymore and need to end my membership. My information was very accurate. I highly recommend Checkmate to other friends as it is very sufficient and accurate, however, as I stated earlier I will be no longer needing my account and I will to terminate my account at the point. I really appreciated the reports that Instant Checkmate generated. I found the information that I was looking for. I found out that my unruly neighbor had a past criminal history. I can now use the records in court against him.

I looked up a ton of people and got nothing. People I know have extensive criminal records because I can go to my county website and see it. Yet you show nothing! Plus you charged a hidden fee for accessing the info after I’ve already paid for the service. So much WRONG information it’s laughable. Bunch of rip off artists is what you are! Up yours!

It followed through with everything they said they'd deliver on. Customer service was easy to deal with and helpful. I recommend using this app if you are in the market for one like it. I wasn't disappointed and you won't be either.

Reading through these reviews, I see that I am not alone with my experience with not being able to get my personal information off of this website. I followed the opt out instructions exactly but my information still shows up as a result on this website when I google my name. Yet when I go directly to the website and search my name no results show up. I have even emailed their customer support at least 4 times with the link to my information and a screenshot asking them to remove it and I’ve gotten no response whatsoever. This company is clearly not following the laws for letting people opt their information off of their website. I was easily able to get my information off of every other website I found it on, except for Instant Checkmate. Their opt out process is completely fraudulent! This is causing me a lot of stress. There are so many of us who have tried unsuccessfully to get our information off with no success, maybe a class action lawsuit is in order.

I signed up for a month of access and reviewed the record of a previous domestic abuser. I was alarmed because it listed two arrests and 10+ criminal records. Considering the individual had made violent threats towards my loved ones, I saw this as an important expense. I am thoroughly disappointed with the results. They were a mix of records from the individual's father and their own information. For instance, it reported that they bought a house in 2012. I know that is a lie, but their father did. There were no arrest records. There were only 3 criminal records listed. I would like a refund, and I feel it is justified. I'd be more than happy to provide the screenshots of the "supposed records." - Blie

After I found that we did not need a background check on ourselves after all, I tried to stop all the push notifications I've gotten numerous times EVERY DAY FOR MONTHS. I'm told they'll send me a confirmation email to finish the opt out process, but I've never gotten it, even after multiple attempts. We didn't even subscribe to the service and we DO NOT NEED IT. This is driving us both crazy, to the point that if we ever did have a need for it, this would be the last company I'd contact.

I just paid $40 to do a background check and I know way more than what is listed on here. This is a complete rip off. And immense amount of information is missing and I am very disappointed that I wasted my money. I’m going to call tomorrow and ask for a refund which I doubt I will get.

I knew my deceased father was in prison, but did not know why. He was in prison when I was young, and died before I was out of grammar school. No one ever told me why. This terrible site exploited my curiosity and charged me $35 to tell me my father passed away ten years ago, when he really died over 20 years ago, and it gave me a report for criminal activity up until eight years ago. The BBB needs to shut them down.

I did one search providing name and location of the person. I know the date of birth, and other locations the person lived. This report came back with nothing about the person I searched. Wrong age, dob, locations he never lived at, etc. Rather the report came back with a few DUIs of a person with a different middle name and pages of child molesters at addresses he never lived. What a farce. Trust me. I have done background investigations for years and this one sucks!

I have noticed few days ago that I have strange transaction for around $34. I did not recognize it and did not recognize the name of company. I called my bank and informed them about this. They told me that it is subscription. So in panic I tried to check how many payments have been already made. And discovered that this company have been charging me every month for over half a year. I did not even know what this is for... Checked my email and could not find anything apart from confirmation that I have purchased on Instant Checkmate 'Unlimited PDF Downloads', Quantity 1 for total of $3.99. I could not remember buying this but many months ago I was doing research on company I was supposed to go to business with and maybe found something on their website which was helpful and wanted to see more and print it.

I used this service once and have just noticed that money is going out of my account. This needs to stop. I paid for a one time report so why is money still going out of my account 3 months later? I await a response!

This website has a lot of false information on my background in which my used to be husband used it to background check on me in which I supposedly lived in another state and I lived with several sex offenders and to where I was using dating website while being with him and for some reason that because Instant Checkmate has no school records on me am all of a sudden an immigrant!!!! As of now am receiving mental health. My husband is now on drugs because he DEMANDS I tell him the truth when there is no truth to tell. Thank you Instant Checkmate. A complete runaround. Trying to obtain background information about myself and received information about some other person. The website was frustrating with always wanting more money. I called for a refund, the girl was rude and unprofessional. She said my refund would be processed in 4-5 days. I’m so upset of the amount of time the process took to have my money taken with no service in return.

One of those sites that tells you that you can do what you want, and they have all the info that you're looking for only to get you through the entire process and then try to get you to pay and also they lied. Their business model is literally lying, and wasting people's time in order to try to trick them into paying for their service. They want you to think "oh, well, I've already wasted 30 minutes of my life waiting for this website to get to the point where it tells me that they charge, I might as well just pay them so I don't waste more of my time." I'm not going to spend 30 dollars to find out if they have the info they say they have (they don't), so like any sensible person I'm simply writing this one off as a scam.

I keep getting a popup whenever I go online with Chrome from this company stating they found two criminal records on me in my state and they offer to send me the records if I'll purchase a subscription from them. I have never been arrested or had charges filed or gone to court. This is a scam company but as they seem to have an email address I believe I will contact a consumer advocate attorney to see what my options are for this harassment.

I was very surprised to receive an email from InstantCheckmate.com today. I had been unhappy with the information available on their site and they refunded all of the money I had paid them. I would call that excellent customer service.

I have been on hold forever. This is a joke. Do not give any credit card information to them. You will not be able to delete it either. I'm pretty sure they may have been hacked because they allowed an unauthorized user onto my account and reactivate the account and do a ton of searches and premium searchs. Somehow, this hacker is also getting others to 'signup' for Instant Checkmate because they get free premium searches.

I googled my entire name and I saw my name associated with ex husband and other people and places that I don't know. I have also received and reported receiving a call saying that they were from the Social Security office saying that my car was found in Allen Texas when I have never been there. My car was with me. I was just getting back to work from having an accident.

Initially wanted to locate an old friend, now keep getting all sorts of pop-ups trying to encourage me to "dig into her life"... not interested in that. I have tried to find where I can remove my information from this site and "OPT OUT" of any future emails.

I have been trying for several days to remove my info, but have not received the opt out email. Read numerous reviews and seems like this company is known its non existent customer service and does not complete these removals upon request. Terrible site!

This site is showing that I have an arrest record from 2007, which is not only completely untrue but nowhere on my background. I worked in education until 2013 and had FBI and DOJ fingerprint clearance. Also,I have seen my background report from my employer, and there is zero on my report. Responses from them to other reviews claims that they have 3rd party info but that is untrue as I have seen my background reports from all my employers and never has there been anything. I have a very uncommon name so a "mixup" is highly unlikely. This site is just trying to bait you into paying for information on people with no results. Sad that they have to benefit monetarily by posting complete lies publicly.

I canceled my subscription 2/18 and unknown to me they continued to charge me at a higher rate 34.78 a month! I asked for my money back 12 mos, but they only agreed to 3. The person on the phone told me to watch for an email and keep checking my spam. I look every day and no email. I am going to take it further if my subscription is somehow not canceled...again.

Should be sued for inaccurate and misleading report! Says I am related to people never heard of, phone number never had and addresses I never lived at. Put on hold for over 45 min and no one answered.

Imagine my surprise when I searched my phone number online and found Instant Checkmate selling not just my name and number, but my full address, the names and addresses of my family members, and previous cities where I'd lived. This is an identity thief's dream come true! I instantly took every possible step to have my personal information scrubbed from this website. Instant Checkmate claims that they allow anyone to opt-out of having their data sold (interesting, as I never remember opting in)... but when I made the request from their website, I was instructed to click a link in their confirmation email to finalize the process. Well, I made multiple attempts and never received an email. What a shocker! What they're doing isn't just sleazy and violating — if they're intentionally stalling/sabotaging the opt-out process, that is ILLEGAL.

After trying to call the number provided to cancel a subscription I did not want, and going online to cancel, a customer support person from Instant Checkmate verified my cancellation and refunded my money. Thank you for your quick response. I appreciate it.

Your company is providing others with my private address and information. I have used the "remove my info" link numerous times to no avail. I have not received a single email to my inbox or spam folder. I have called but no one answered as well as emailed without a response. I cannot believe your company puts people's safety at risk by providing private physical address and phone numbers. If my information is not removed and I don't get a response to this I will be filing a formal complaint as well as listing a complaint with the BBB.

I have been trying to call customer service for two days as I've been unable to log into my account. NO ONE answers their customer service line. Are you kidding me? This is how you lose subscribers. That's IF they can get you on the phone to cancel their membership.

They have no email support and despite informing customers on their website FAQ and terms of use that you are able to cancel your subscription online you are not able to. You have to call to cancel and no one answers your call. It's a total scam.

I have sent requests 12/2017, 11/2018 and 1/2019 to this company to cancel my subscription. I recently noticed it is still charging me and they responded in 12/17 and requested my email for my PayPal account to cancel it. I responded with the requested information, however the charges continued. At this point they've taken over $450 after being asked to cancel the subscription. Be very wary of using this service. I want my money back!

Have been charged far more than what I agreed to. Agreed to a 3$ Trial. was charged over 30$. Have been left on hold “waiting for an agent” for hours. The site spent 15 minutes pretending to find records on me only to pop up nothing correct besides using my old Facebook photo. They even made up a middle name for me. I’ll be contacting Better Business Bureau and possibly taking further steps if this is not resolved.

Great Program for what it can do. Could use better info gathering but it is what it is. I would like to see it do better on the info it gathers since I have seen a lot in there that was not the person who it gathered on.

I have been trying to find the crook who embezzled me out of my money in France and the crook made it look like he was in Hong Kong (very well done). But he made one mistake. He used a Florida Bank to transfer my money to. Having filed my complaint to the Sheriff and waiting for five months no news from the Sheriff. I contacted the Sheriff. To my surprise he was still waiting for a reply from the Bank 5 months waiting and lost time. Of my insistence he had obtained a meeting date and after his visit with the bank manager he was convinced by the banker that my money had left the states and (were international crooks) who are using PX boxes, etc and decided to close the investigation and return the findings to the French where I live.

I cannot reach a customer service representative. No one answers the phone. I have called numerous times to have them help me. I can't reach anyone. The phone shuts off after so many taped sayings. There is silence. I would say that aren't even operating? I feel like this company is not in compliance with being in business.

I was horrified to find under my own name a listing of old traffic citations from 2006 to 2008 with Instant Checkmate's libelous comment about "possible criminal records" making it look as if I am a criminal. I have repeatedly asked by phone and by email that this company to remove my listing, to no avail. This is vicious marketing at its worst. Clearly this is done to entice someone into paying them a fee to find out the "lurid details" when in fact there are none. Where is the consumer protection from libel?

I was happy with the results Instant Checkmate provided, but after not needing the service again I tried to cancel my account and although the call goes through to customer service, it is NEVER answered. Even a good product loses its appeal if customer service is bad!

Do you understand cancel. You gave me a cancelation number, yet you kept billing me month after month. I have all sorts of purchases on my credit card, had to cancel that to end this nightmare! Yes you're a crooked company. Why else all the different names you bill customers with. Want something to report? Try the truth about your firm.

This company has me living in Florida, Georgia, and getting in some legal trouble in Arizona. I've never lived in Florida nor Georgia, and the legal trouble in Arizona wasn't possibly as at the time of the incident, I was at work in Colorado. Then when I went to use the opt out feature, it conveniently doesn't send the opt out confirmation link. The process won't let you opt out even though it has lies posted about you. I'm so mad I'm going to go see my Senator and my Congressman when their offices open back up.

I have contacted my attorney and sent them a link to my search results on their platform which falsely claims I have criminal records, which I do not. I have found the same false claims in searches for other people I know. I demand that they immediately remove any and all information about me from their fraudulent site(s) and I will be seeking damages for the damaging and false search results attributed to me.

They are fake. They promote fake. Do not subscribe to this agency. This agency is only asking questions about an individual instead of giving you information about an individual. Never give information to an agency that questions you about information that you're looking for about individual let alone you subscribe and paid for the information. I was trying to find my criminal background - when I searched it said it had all kinds of information. Then after I paid it said I did not have a criminal record. I have an extensive criminal background. I could have found more on Google. When I ask for a refund they said they could not do it because they did not guarantee the results or the information.

I am the only person with my first name, and on your site you have me listed with my first and last name, age, birth month and year, and where I have lived. This is not the case of multiple people having the same name. However, you gave me a fake middle initial. I don't have a middle name. This is a scam. Don't tell me how sorry you are that I am having a problem; the problem is with you. Remove my information, please. This is the second time I have gone through the opt-out.

I have tried in vain to Opt Out of Instant Checkmate for the past week. My background check is filled with untruths and inconsistencies. According to Instant Checkmate the Opt Out procedure is as easy as falling off a bicycle; "We understand why someone might want their name removed from the Instant Checkmate database. That’s why we make opting out of Instant Checkmate easy. Simply search for your report and select the report you'd like to have removed. You will then receive a confirmation email which will require you to confirm the record you wish to remove. That's it!"

Thought I was paying for one month. But I have been paying for over a year. I am very dissapointed in in that. I only get about $100 a month and taking almost $30 and sometimes taking it twice a month, is just so unfair. I have learned that it is better not to use a c.c number to buy anything on line.

Their Opt out is fake! I have Opt'd out twice, and my information somehow reappears within a few weeks. Their support sucks. They claimed they were going to purge all my info from Google, another lie! When I search my phone number on Google, it comes up with their website info, and my name. My next step will be legal action, to resolve this fraud!

The girl that they showed to others never, ever looked like me. How they got some kind of information and a picture is a puzzle to me.

IC has me listed on their open, public website as potentially having 24 criminal records, including sex offender status in AZ. My name is not common, my age is accurate, my current zip code is as well. They confirmed that I do not in fact have a criminal record, but their public interface suggests otherwise. Their data collection techniques are problematic to say the least. I have no idea how long this false and libelous information has been on their website.

Overall I have had a good experience with Instant Checkmate. It has often helped me to locate people from my distant past whom I never thought I would be able to find again. Unfortunately I occasionally find that there is very little information on some people I look up.

Tried the "trial version" for a small fee and found that everything accessed was an attempt to get more money for "premium" access (or whatever it was called). So, I made sure I cancelled in time and via instructions. Never heard another word from Instant Checkmate until...six months later. Instant Checkmate ran a nearly $200 "fee" through my credit card. I called them up, and they told me it was for "six monthly service charges". Also, the rep claimed that the business had been billing each month (six charges), so "it has to be the credit card company not debiting your account each month, so it's just now showing up" (of course the transaction was for a single lump sum -- I wasn't that stupid).

I was tired of searching the internet for a high school reunion and needed to find old schoolmates. The application finds about 75% of my searches but the information is not vetted and often mixes correct and incorrect data. It does provide related contacts of the target but the system does not distinguish between current and former marriages. It searches every time for sexual predators and there is no way to exclude that metric. Every month I look up 2 to 5 people for various reasons. I wish it were more accurate but from their ads it seems you get what you pay for. They always solicit more in depth searches circa fee.

We have used CHECKMATE for over a year. This service offers us the opportunity to locate people that are often hiding. It provides friends and relatives and phone numbers of contacts. It also provides email and other social media contact info. We are satisfied with the service and would recommend that anyone interested in locating "lost" people should try this service.

I am having the most horrible time trying to opt my information, a lot of it erroneous at that, out of this site. The directions are to search for your name and once you find your profile, simply click remove. Easy enough, right? Not for me! Even though my profile is completely out there for anyone doing a Google search to see on their site, as soon as I type my name to opt it, I get a message that I cannot be found...though my profile still openly shows on their site. I have called their customer service and had to hang up after an hour on hold. An email response never happens either. I am at my wit's end; I need my profile removed from their site. With all of their inaccuracies and personal information, this places me in a dangerous position. I wish someone would help. Someone needs to follow up on this immediately!

The opt-out feature on this website is fake. They never send a confirmation email. Other reviewers have said the same and they've done nothing to fix it. I guess the next step is to write my hyper-libertarian representative in Congress and have him deal with it the hard way.

I subscribed to Instant Checkmate in 2014 to a buy a report for one use. I immediately unsubscribed and recently found out that they have been charging my Paypal account $22.80 every month since then. It was actually my wife's account and she thought it was something else until we recently figured it out. Did not even know what it was. I called them and knowing they were wrong, I was immediately credited back for one-year. I demanded the entire amount and I was told system limitations prevented that. I was directed to write to them at a support email address which I know would get me nowhere. I am very angry and feel completely deceived by this company. I tried to resolve it peacefully with them, but am not satisfied, so I feel others should know about their practices.

Would not let me log in. Kept saying to create a new address. I don’t like things that take up my time when there should be a problem after first phone call but problem was never resolved. Had excellent service first time though.

Instant Checkmate provided the information I needed about a man I was dating. It is great to be able to confirm someone is who they say they are. It also allowed me to see what information was available for me and my family. I highly recommend!

I ordered the monthly reverse phone number look up. It took to long getting past the constant up sales to the needed information and less then half the time the information was accurate. I switched to a different service where its quicker since l don't have to constantly say no to the intrusive advertising checkmate does asking if l want to add more services. If l want more services I'll let you know. I shouldn't be forced to click out of the intrusive pop up every few seconds that won't let me continue unless l answer them.

Instant Checkmate makes it look like they offer you a chance to opt out, but they require you to reply to a "confirmation email." They never send this email, so no opt out is possible. Need to fix this Kafkaesque nightmare.

While I do enjoy using the product, I stopped using your service because you do not accept American Express. If you just pass the cost of the transaction fees to the consumer, we would still use the service.

I don't care for the endless, useless information regarding the neighbors of related people to the person I'm researching. Not enough current info. It's mostly relatively old data. Some helpful information, a lot of info re: associated persons was inaccurate and based on past addresses. Also, the report is way too long to print not printer friendly at all.

Truthfinder is good but Instant Checkmate is way better. More information and the timelines are really needed to put it all together. Not to mention that if using Truthfinder there's no way you would receive this much info in your report without paying more and more money.

I went online searching for myself and it said that I had a criminal record on my name. Since I don't have charges or a criminal record I was scared that someone stole my identity so to investigate I paid $26 for nothing. You all are thieves and liars. I don't have a criminal record or tickets in my name and you made it look like I did which is why I paid as I was afraid someone stole my identity! I want a refund ASAP!

This company did a good job with my need for a report but then they would not accept my cancellation and went into my bank account and took more money than was authorized. I have tried to reach by phone and email and get cut off or cannot reach anyone.

Love this tool! I do a lot of genealogy research using Ancestry.com and use Instant Checkmate as my research tool to fill the gaps in ancestries. Would highly recommend it to anyone researching genealogies. I have used this tool for over 3 years and it has got me over some big hurdles in family history.

Pretty easy to find people. You sometimes need to tweak the results to exclude similar results with other people who share the name. Knowing someone's birth date and/or relatives helps tweak the results. Pretty in depth finds once you have the right person.

InstantCheckMate.com FALSELY posted that I have a criminal record. I absolutely DO NOT have any kind of criminal or arrest record. They removed my information upon request, but how many people have seen this and how many jobs/contracts did I NOT get because of this? Obviously, they do NOT have accurate information and are still posting it. Their tiny (!) disclaimer that the information cannot be used for employment purposes is ridiculous - who controls that? I am now self-employed - how many people don't use my services because of this false and damaging information? Also, as soon as my information got removed from one of these horrible websites, it appeared on another. My guess is that they either sell the information or that MyLife.com / Truthfinder.com / PublicDataDigger.com are all connected. Please, somebody NEEDS to stop them from hurting people!

A year ago I signed up for Instant Checkmate for a 30 day trial period. Since then Been Verified has been deducting my PayPal account and so has People Finders. I only signed up for Instant Checkmate and now I am being charged $75 a month for all 3. I have cancelled them numerous times and they are still fraudulently charging me. I have only used the Instant Checkmate service once and have never heard of the other two companies. It’s a scam and I believe they are selling my information to other companies! I want my money back from all 3 of these scammers for the entire year or I will retain an attorney. These sites are garbage!!

Despite offering people the ability to opt-out by selecting their information and requesting a confirmation email to be sent to confirm the opt-out process -- no confirmation email is ever sent. I have tried several times to complete the process, tried several emails, and always checked spam folders and yet they refuse to send an email which would allow me to opt out.

The number to this business called my personal cell phone. I have never heard of this business and have never been called before. The person (a male) said "aw, hi grandma". I told him this wasn't grandma and then he proceeded to use every expletive on me possible. What? Is this normal for a company? Because it seems right up the alley of the scammers that call me regularly. I called the number back and the computer said to be ready with the email address you use for their business. I don't use their service so I'd love to know why I am being called and attacked on the phone by one of your representatives.

Have used many background services in the past but this is the best. Easy to manage your account, great search engine for finding people, and comprehensive reports that can be easily downloaded. I will never use another service. Highly recommended!

All they gave me was the name and birthdate of the person, which happens to be a convicted criminal, drug dealer, has a DUI, and bankruptcies. Yet none of that information was provided by your site. Why take peoples’ money without providing the service? If no information on a person is given, then don’t charge for giving them nothing! Waste of time! Now I have to try and cancel my recurring subscription.

I do a lot of mail-outs and often the county information is hopelessly out of date. Instant Checkmate is easy to use and has fairly accurate data and saves a lot of time going to other databases for information. Once, I hired a retired detective to find a person, spent a lot of money and time on fuel and effort without finding the person I was looking for.

It is easy and I found things about me I had forgotten. It is a great service. I recommend it. It was easy to get, easy to navigate, detailed and accurate. I am so glad I have it. I feel informed and more secure. Also, very affordable.

Though they were forced to provide the option of opting out, Instant Checkmate is hoping it isn't reported for making the online opt out option worthless. It simply doesn't work. Even if you have a Gmail account it won't send the link to confirm opt out. So far five coworkers of mine have tried, looked in their spam folders and nothing... Not a single link sent. I guess they need further pressure from the government.

So far after only an hour or so, I was able to locate my niece and nephews. I had lost track of them when my brother passed away. I probably know their addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. I tried to log into my premium Checkmate account last night. Without success. I was on hold after calling for 1/2hr, then told I would receive callback. NOT. I tried again this morning and got basically the same results as before. I called and spoke to rep. I was told that all the past information on persons I searched and had them store for my immediate or future use WAS GONE. Information on the information hwy or stored on a computer does not just vanish. It was hacked my suspicions. I have the feeling their computers were hacked and the many dozens of searches I did are in other's hand other than mine or the main system of Instant Checkmate. P.S. My acct was the premium and had data beyond just the basic searches.

I have been using this service for years and I think it is better than anything else out there. I have memory problems and when people contact me saying they know me, I can check. This saves me considerable embarrassment AND keeps me secure from online predators.

I'm happy with the application. No doubt about it and it has been very helpful. It would be nice to perhaps have an "Advanced Search" capability. As suspected, you will populate a number of results and it can be limited because you don't entirely know the age or location of the person. One would then have to go through each based on a rough idea of the parameters, "This person would probably be mid 30s is my guess and I think they may have lived in GA before but so have several others, etc., hmmm". If there was a way to have an Advanced Search to where you could put keywords about the person you are seeking that could narrow it down even further.

Finding current contact info for folks I've not seen in 40 yrs - 95% of folks searched for I was able to discover at least one working number/email/address for. Considering I have had almost no luck through white pages or Google prior to this system, I am damned thrilled with it! Your timeline section is an enormous help for determining if I have the correct person. It is odd how many folks have no information re spouses/previous spouses--especially when I was at their wedding. In most cases, the only mention of a marriage is on property purchases under whom buyer/seller is.

I signed up for Instant Checkmate as I was mislead thinking this was a one time fee for a search. It turned out to be a monthly billing, and I never received a report that I searched for. I have not accessed this again as I thought it was a one time charge per their misleading ad. Billed multiple times, no information was ever provided for the one search and I have not even accessed the account since and this vendor will not refund any of the money they have billed for over a year.

I found everything I was looking for and more! This is a great site!!! You will get information that you were not expecting! You will be able to find information about the neighborhood you live in or are going to live in. It will let you know people that are relatives that you may not know about.

I have tried several times, using multiple email addresses, to have my information removed by using Instant Checkmate's "Expedited Opt Out" service. They are refusing to send the confirmation email necessary to complete the opt out service required by law in my state. A business cannot advertise a service it does not actually provide. This is North Carolina Law, and they are breaking it.

I've not had any issues on this site. I have had instances where I could find more info on criminal just from Google than here, and on the occasion that I've ordered more, I've found it mostly similar to the original with little additional info. Those time have not been worth the extra money.

This site is very concise and accurate making that search to find lost friends, family, etc very easy. The report provides sufficient previous information that helps determine you have likely found the right person and where they can be reach currently. I have found many of my high school classmates using this service.

Ran personal report on myself. Report has only my birthdate and address correct. It contains my son's work and educational history and not mine. The report has my middle name as LEWIS when it is actually **. After calling Instant Checkmate I was told that there was nothing they would do to correct the report. I consider the report, as no doubt others would as well, to be a total waste of both time and money.

Very vague in the information. I feel like I went to a bad psychic who walked away with my money. Does not have dates of marriage or divorces. Doesn't state if person was in the military. Many inaccurate information. Did not have complete and accurate information of related family members. Was not helpful at all. I did a better job finding information on my own.

As an Australian I engaged the services of Instant Checkmate to search for a cousin I believed to be in the United States. Whilst I only used the service once, I was unaware due to my own personal oversight, that I had actually agreed to a monthly subscription with Instant Checkmate. It wasn't until some years down the track that I realized that monthly deductions had been taken from my bank account for a service I only used once.
