While you’ve since approved the charge on your end, our system still reflects multiple declined attempts—all of which were rejected by the bank. Please note, Instant Checkmate is not actively rejecting the charge. Sometimes it can take a few hours for the bank to eventually allow you to make the purchase.

We can confirm that the email address referenced in your review was used to create an Instant Checkmate account on October 23, 2017. The account had a one month paid subscription associated with it but has been cancelled since November 24, 2017.

Instant Checkmate does not sell email addresses to spammers or to any parties who engage in phishing activity. According to our Privacy Policy, users who submit their email address on our site may receive messages from Instant Checkmate, our affiliates, or selected promotional partners.

However, in 2023, Instant Checkmate became aware of a security incident. As we publicly posted on our security incident notice webpage at the time, customer data that that may have been exposed included email addresses of customer accounts created between 2011 and 2019.

Once we became aware of the matter, Instant Checkmate took immediate steps to address the issue. This included, but was not limited to, conducting a comprehensive security review, enhancing our cybersecurity defenses, and notifying affected users about the incident. Instant Checkmate also recommended that users change their passwords and remain vigilant for any suspicious activity that may indicate misuse of their personal information.

If you wish to delete your free Instant Checkmate account, please check the inbox associated with your account for an email containing detailed instructions on how to complete the deletion process.

For security purposes, you may be required to log into your Instant Checkmate account to confirm the deletion request. This additional step helps ensure your privacy. Once confirmed, the deletion will be processed, permanently removing any remaining user data associated with the account.
