This is the second time I have called to cancel/unsubscribe. I do not need the service and do not need to be charged for something I do not need. I have been charged this past month again for something I unsubscribed for. This time it better be unsubscribed or I will need to take other actions.

Members of Instant Checkmate can cancel their membership anytime by accessing their account online or by contacting our phone support team. After reviewing your account, we were unable to locate any previous cancellation requests made by phone or email. However, as a courtesy, we have processed a refund for your most recent charge. Please allow 3–5 business days for the refund to reflect in your account.

Rolando was a big help today. I thought I had signed up for a one time use subscription to your services. I was notified by my credit card that I would be charged monthly until I cancelled it. He helped me cancel it and got a refund for today's charge. Thanks Rolando!

Instant Checkmate is just like any other garbage website. Don't waste 10 - 15 minutes (yes, it says it takes THAT long to run a single report...) because once you get to the end, you will have to pay at minimum, $30 for a single report. Waste of time and money!

At first I called and used the automated service to cancel the subscription and it didn’t recognize my number as the one that is on file. Once I got a human they recognize it. When I got the customer service that I needed then I was able to cancel my subscription.

Everything seemed to work good and found out some valuable information. The only thing I didn't understand or like was the person of interest part and it didn't say anything else but a name. I appreciate the good deal offer, and j paid for the extras. Sad that if I renew those extras don't come with it since I already paid for the one time payment on those.

The report I received from Checkmate has the person's phone and address information. Yet most of the 39 page report was filled with random information about people - sex offenders - who live near the person. I'm disappointed that Checkmate appears to pad their reports. It is my opinion that they pad their reports to justify the massive expense. $39 is not worth the pages upon pages of useless information. Not worth at all!

The information provided in multiple searches was empty or inaccurate. The site hides the unsubscribe in a place that is difficult to find. Once I found it and unsubscribed, my credit card was still being charged.

Plain and simple, did not provide information I was trying to get to make sure my deceased sister's identity had not been stolen. The advertising is false and completely not true. The information it did provide was something I could get online for free from public websites. Once I entered my credit card number, I was also charged for an additional service I did not want nor need. It also provided nothing of use.

I signed up to do just one search. Why I was charged twice, $3.99 plus $27.49 I have no idea, as I only signed up for one inquiry, one service. Very difficult to get hold of customer service. The AI did not recognize my member ID. Nor my phone #. I was hung up on when I entered my zip code. I was never notified that I would be charged again until the charges suddenly popped up as pending today. I finally got hold of a live person after being on hold for a long time. Hopefully they will reverse this charge for this month. Very very expensive to pay that much each month for 1 inquiry. Not easy to get hold of anyone.

My daughter was arrested in August of '24 and has been on the Missing Persons national register since October of '24. Checkmate should have had something (public record, even) but nothing showed up. We cancelled service within a week of signing up but found we have paid for 10 months @ $40 each month. Customer "service" refunded one payment and cancelled our 3 subscriptions, but back history is our problem. Don't get pulled in by the promises on the first 12 pages of personal information you input that brings you absolutely NOTHING in return.

Not worth it. Too many upsell charges. Data not all accurate. Better results with Google. Most unfavorable is the inducement ad to see what watchlist I was on. I had no idea I was on any watchlist but the misleading ad indicated I was? Well, no watchlist in my $28 report or some $4 charge for I don't know what. I cancelled subscription straight away and regret being duped into spending $32 for nothing. Usually check reviews b4 buying on the internet but this Checkmate had many good reviews, caveat emptor.

I looked up a person's name because I wanted to know what all his criminal charges were and they know he has strong driving charges in the past. Under his criminal charges it was listed that he had none. It also listed that he had no nothing of any kind under his name. So I decided that you must not have all the information on everyone. So I cannot afford this service as I am on social security disability and if you're not able to give me what I want when I ask for information I cannot afford it. Thank you very much. I just thought I would try and see if I could get what I wanted but I couldn't.

HORRIBLE! They make you buy a $$$ membership to even run one report and the report is missing data it advertises as available and information is outdated and incorrect! I simply wanted my divorce date from 2004 and would not return any marriage or divorce dates on myself or my ex. Even when you buy a membership for $35 a month, they still charge you for each additional check-even when it clearly states unlimited access. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. THEY WON'T REFUND EITHER.

What an absolute SCAM. I did not know I was signing up for a monthly subscription as the only option I had said: Unlimited Person Report Membership - 1 month. Did not get any email receipts except for my initial purchase. Ran ONE report over the course of 10 months. Finally realized I was being charged monthly and requested a refund for the 9 months that I did not use services. I was given a refund for one. This company is relying on people to sign up for a monthly subscription unknowingly and be charged each month and forget. So slimy. Why would I as an average citizen need to run monthly background checks? 0 stars. Give me a full refund and I'd be happy to delete my review and at least give credit for making things right.

My brother passed away and I'm the exec. of the trust. Was trying to get more information on his assets to help with the administration of his estate. Also, I cancelled the account right after and was charged for another month anyway. It didn't state very well that the cancellation was only for a PDF. If I didn't think this was a scam e-mail, and didn't call to cancel the subscription, I would be paying continuously. Not good!

Talked to Bruno today and he assured me that I would get a refund of 27.49. He said he would send me an email indicating the refund. He said it would take about 15 minutes. He assured me. Please follow up. Further, I had to stop him because I could not understand him. He also spoke so fast I had to ask him to repeat. He assured me that my refund would come through an email but would not be on my statement right away.

The guy I am researching has been married twice, divorced once and owns a BAR. Yet NONE of these facts-(found online at GOV websites) were discovered by CheckMate. The report was not accurate and does not reflect very well for Instant Checkmate. My info was mixed up with my son, IC had me mixed up with similar names in Georgia. Someone did not do a good job and IC needs to do check out all the discrepancies in this report and update the records.

I called because I found out my data was leaked. The person helping me made me feel stupid because I didn't know what it was called on your system. He acted like my data being leaked was no big deal and I was out of my mind. He seemed like helping a customer was not his job and he wasn't happy to be working. For a Background check. They sent me emails saying it was ready for review but the site will not let me access the report and continues to log me out expecting me to log back in and verify through email that it is me and keeps telling me I’m on a new device when I am not on a new device. Something so simple they are making so difficult. There are many other companies that will do this. Do not waste your time or your money on this company. It is 2025. There is no reason for it to be so difficult to get a report on somebody after you pay for it. There is nothing for me to download. Nothing for me to review after they said it was ready. I would rate them zero stars if it were possible.

The rep was very courteous and helpful in cancelling my paid account. Often customer service reps aggressively resist a customer's cancellation request to the point of harassment. Fortunately that was not the case here and I'm deeply appreciative of the rep's conduct and help. I will consider renewing my paid membership if future events so warrant.

I've never been able to connect with the website to check on a person. Spent over $70.00 in 2 months that I was never able to connect on. Plus, the website would never remember me, which made it even worse! I tried many times and then my banker told me I should Google your website to disconnect service with you.

I actually never used the service! In a moment of panic when we were out of town, we needed to see if we could get a document for my husband, but he was able to find it another way. I called to cancel when I got home and the Customer Service representative took care of everything right away, no questions asked. I do have to say that the automated system was not helpful as it didn't recognize my assigned customer number.

I did not receive anything on the 3 persons I entered for back ground search, that I did not already know. TOO much pushing more and more fees. Was very frustrating and a waste of my time to receive no useful information on any one of the people I ASKED ABOUT. Stop the overselling on useless products before I could access one single useless report. It's all a scam in best view, You should not be charging for anything you can provide any information on back ground needed and paid to get ZERO INFORMATION ON.

Tried to get a report. Bank stopped the payment due to fraud. I contacted the bank to say it was me using the card. They told me to then go ahead and use the Credit card. However, Checkmate still rejects the card, but has my information. It is unfortunate that his event occurred. Now they are rejecting my review!!

Most of the information looked up there was no data available! I also believe that the payment for the service was a bit steep!!! Almost $36.00 for what. A subscription was purchased 6/2023. Used 1 times during that month. Since I have been charges $29 a month for 2 years with ZERO activity on the account. Only a 1 month credit was issued - no monitoring of the account at all - just happy to take my money every month.

I wasn't able to log in to my account using my password. When I asked to reset it by email, the page I was sent to through email could not be accessed so I couldn't reset my password. I had to call for assistance. The person I spoke with was very difficult to understand and this simple action took way longer than it should have, in order to resolve the issue. Too many problems to go into detail. I do not know why, why, why you need me to go into detail. I only asked for one report and I changed my mind within 10 minutes so I requested to cancel and not have the trial period. No one canceled and I was charged $27.49 twice and I have never seen a report of any kind and it took me making contact and requesting to be canceled 6 times before I found any respect or help. A great person that works for your chat department named Nicole was as friendly and professional as they come and I am grateful for her helping me today but I think it is a shame you say customer service is important to you and I went through 5 other employees with no results whatsoever.
She helped me in less than two minutes. I had confirmation of the cancellation and a refund for one of the two charges. Which was what I asked for even though I never received the one report I had signed up and paid for and I feel the company as a whole should have refunded the entire amount. Data available is no better than less expensive databases. I do not care for the extra charge to search a phone number. Automated cancellation system does not work right. I cancelled my service and then was offered a lower monthly rate which I declined. Why would I want to keep subscribing to a not-so-good database?

No info on marriages or divorces and wildly inaccurate information about associates and residences. Ran one on myself to check. I don't even know some of the relatives and associates. Also missing convictions on someone I know. Was useless for me. Customer service was helpful and refunded my month payment (smallest increment you can buy). Don't use unless you want inaccurate info.

I have been with Instant Checkmate for a long time, I think over 15 years, and I am cancelling my subscription effective July 2, 2025 because you will not correct inaccurate information on my account. There is no excuse for not being accurate. Nicholas was helpful but couldn't make it work. Didn't you all get sued by the FTC for this very thing and ordered to pay 5.8 million dollars in fines. **.

Instant Checkmate claims to be available 24 hrs a day, (just type control + F into their report, and it's listed over 1,000 times) yet there is NO afterhours phone number past 4 pm. Federal law states that Data Privacy Laws need to be upheld immediately upon request, yet Instant Checkmate violates that law, on top of fraudulent consumer protections laws by claiming you are able to get in contact with them 24 hrs a day. If you exercise your right to your data privacy, the incorrect info they have on your report makes you choose an email or phone number you have never had. I am going to start the process of a Class Action lawsuit. If anyone else has received similar violations of civil rights, please explain and I will include you in the process. This company has no right to go against federal law, and as such are responsible for any compensations under the law.

If I could I would give this a zero star review. First of all understand you don't get nothing for free, so I went with the membership of $35.00 a month, so now I have this membership so I go into their system to find the person I needed look up. The person I looked up, that I know very well the site did not have any information on the person. The site that was inaccurate and was limited to almost no information. If wanted extra information in different Categories then you would need to pay extra money for each category. This BS what I'm paying $35.00 a month for? This site is a SCAM!!!! Do not waste your money!! I have found sites that give you more information for free. You just just need to find them!

I only needed the service for one reason and I was able to accomplish that. I attempted to cancel the next day as I thought I was buying one month and got an email that it would be a recurring payment. Since that’s not what you wanted, I called. I was directed to Luis after the automated system was having problems and he took care of me right away and was very professional and efficient. He corrected the error and stopped the service after this month. Very good CS from Luis.

If you look somebody up without a subscription, they will waste 15 minutes of your life, pretending they’re getting you information. Over and over “gathering social media” with a ticking clock. “Examining court records“ with another ticking clock. You literally waste 15 minutes of your life before they say you can access the records if you get a subscription. Completely manipulative and unethical.

They have my deceased grandfather's information from my mother's maiden name to his birth location and his address. That's very dangerous and creepy and I cannot access the information without paying for a subscription. This site needs to be shut down.

SOLD MY EMAIL ADDRESS TO SPAMMERS! I use Gmail with the plus sign, (+Instantcheckmate) and I get a bunch of spam at that specific address from phishing scams. I know for a fact that Instantcheckmate database was either leaked or they sold my email address to spammers.

We can confirm that the email address referenced in your review was used to create an Instant Checkmate account on October 23, 2017. The account had a one month paid subscription associated with it but has been cancelled since November 24, 2017.
Instant Checkmate does not sell email addresses to spammers or to any parties who engage in phishing activity. According to our Privacy Policy, users who submit their email address on our site may receive messages from Instant Checkmate, our affiliates, or selected promotional partners.
However, in 2023, Instant Checkmate became aware of a security incident. As we publicly posted on our security incident notice webpage at the time, customer data that that may have been exposed included email addresses of customer accounts created between 2011 and 2019.
Once we became aware of the matter, Instant Checkmate took immediate steps to address the issue. This included, but was not limited to, conducting a comprehensive security review, enhancing our cybersecurity defenses, and notifying affected users about the incident. Instant Checkmate also recommended that users change their passwords and remain vigilant for any suspicious activity that may indicate misuse of their personal information.
If you wish to delete your free Instant Checkmate account, please check the inbox associated with your account for an email containing detailed instructions on how to complete the deletion process.

The company is great, the site is great, the customer service is great, I have no complaints with this company as far as performance, but sadly, none of the information in the reports was correct. For anyone. I can't see using this service in the future as it is expensive and nothing is correct. Bummed me out. I was so hopeful by spending that much for a month it would have viable info. On 05/25 I subscribed to Checkmate for former classmate search. Within the same hour I called to Cancel the service. Spoke to Checkmate. Explained that search resulted in a NO RECORDS FOUND response when I tried to obtain Report. Agent stated that she would Cancel my original subscription placed an hour ago.

I canceled Trial subscription because when I searched for information re public records about a relative, nothing I was looking for was provided. "Report" said InstantCheckmate couldn't retrieve court records, traffic records, criminal records, work history, etc. All it gave me was name, address, phone numbers, and current employer. This was the very basic information I already knew. Disappointed.

I wouldn't chose Instant Checkmate again. I gained nothing I couldn't find on my own without wasting money. Checkmate couldn't even produce documents I know exist and have found myself in the past. In fact, while my account was active, I looked up myself and was told there were NO records on me! I'm pretty sure I exist.

For starters after I made my purchase of $3.99 the whole screen grayed out. So, I purchased again due to the fact they were telling me there was explicit content. No bad content and charged on 3 different items I did not order! I was refunded but will not use them again.

Today I find out that Instant Checkmate has charged me 13 times totaling $381.03. I used the service 1 time and canceled it that day. They never canceled it. Rep today was not helpful so if they don’t refund my $381.03 asap I’ll be filing a complaint and lawsuit. I see that there’s already been a class action lawsuit against them. I hope that they decide to do the right thing and refund me asap.

Although much of the information pertaining to my search was correct, the person's listed last name was not the most recent and it indicated she was still alive. She has been deceased for 13 years and had her correct last name visible throughout the report but not listed as the most recent. So what I needed was not provided. Sadly. I requested a report for basic information on an individual to help my research on the type of business he owned and when it operated in Alpha, NJ. The report I got back had no information about this individual. This is impossible to believe. This gentleman lived 100 years. I gave Checkmate his home address. She was great- changed my information to make it correct. Customer service person yesterday not helpful. The actual service I am not pleased with. There is not any updated information. The person moved to a new city and state, new jobs, and none of this information is in the report. No new address either.

Tried to sign into Insta Checkmate and message popped up there was an error. Called checkmate and was told it was on my bank's end, called bank and was told it wasn’t on bank's end, called back checkmate 2nd time and was told they didn’t know why error was showing up and to “wait a couple of hours and maybe it would fix itself”. I have been using checkmate for years and have had a couple of issues in the past but have always been able to get addressed and fixed with one phone call. To be told to wait and see if it fixes itself and have to call back a third time is very unprofessional. There are many other background check services available and unless this is fixed today I will be looking into other services.

I received a bill for $ 35.47 for a subscription that I never signed up for. I used the service for a single background check and was billed for a subscription for two months - I called and the person that helped me was very good and canceled my subscription and gave me a full refund. This was not a good experience. First of all couldn't find anything I was looking for and then I canceled in December and they've been charging me $9.99 and $14.99 every month since. Starting to think that this is a scam but I am going to turn them over to Better Business Bureau because I think that this is a scam. So if you are thinking of using this app I would not recommended. They take your money and give you nothing.

Highly disappointed with our experience. My father is an older gentleman and somehow signed up for a subscription for this without meaning to. He was simply looking for photos of one of his cousins who had recently passed away. He never received any reports but has been charged for 3 months of reports and another fee for a subscription for downloads. Another example of a company trying to slip in monthly subscription costs and in this case two of them!
We called and pleaded for them to refund the charges and the agent stated this was their company policy and that they did not make allowances, they would only refund the charges from this last cycle. We asked to speak with a manager and she said again we would get the same answer. Not making it very clear that someone is signing up for a subscription is a sad and deceitful practice that has become way too common in today's world. Not making allowances or showing compassion for those who are no longer in the workforce and trying to enjoy their retirement on their set incomes really just speaks volumes. Maybe Instant Checkmate provides a good service for some people, I can't speak to that but their lack of compassion and lack of desire to do the right thing (or maybe they just don't know that is)....I certaintly would not want anything to do with them and will not support their business in any way.

Unless someone has a felony it is not going to give you anything. Don't waste your time or money... Big tell, they won't give you a free look at even a partial report. Via a Google search, your company came up as a source for military record history. Your site also listed military records as one of the available reports. I joined but was unable to obtain military records and spent much time looking throughout the site and reports. I was unable to get chat, email or telephone help until I cancelled the account. The agent explained that you are no longer able to access military records. I requested a refund and he gave it to me. Only that part was satisfying.

If I could give negative stars I would. Let's just start with DECEPTIVE MARKETING practices. I signed up for one month of unlimited reports. Three months later I realize they've charged me for two more months. After calling customer service to complain, they kept telling me they wouldn't offer a refund. All "receipts" in my account say "Unlimited reports- 1 month".... every single month. No other detail, no emails confirming anything else even though they said they emailed me. I asked them to forward me the emails they supposedly sent and they just kept repeating "we will offer no refunds at this time." Asked to speak with a supervisor and kept being told the same thing and that no one was available. THIS IS A SCAM. I highly advise staying away from this company.

After many years of use, I find more people with no information and phone numbers that do not identify than when I first started. Or people who have information removed. Don't understand the change. Even people with only a few years of records. The service is less reliable now. Why this lack of important records failure growing?

I had a working account, but I have been trying to use your service since last week. All 5 transactions denied. I called you up and you said to check my bank. I called my bank and they said the transaction never reached them. I called you back and you gave me advice that didn't work. I asked you to stay on the line while I tried again, but you hung up on me, in such a hurry to get out the door. Now I cannot reach you after hours. One of my cards said that they block ALL Instant Checkmate transactions because they are so dishonest. But the other charge cards and PayPal said that they never saw the transaction. So the problem is with the Instant Checkmate website, and the customer service is useless.

I accidentally opened a membership with you. I had gone to your service to find the date in 1979 when my divorce was final because my son was filling out forms for a background check. I put in the information, including my billing information, however I did not think I finished joining. Instant checkmate was charging me for over a year. I didn’t realize I had a subscription with them. When I tried to look up myself they wanted me to pay for another subscription, I realized they had my email address (Yahoo) written with 3 os (as in yahooo.com). That’s When I knew they weren’t serious, they can’t be legit cause ain’t no way. And they wouldn’t give me a refund. People save yourselves from this website, they are fake. Their information given is literally gathered from your own social media and your home address.

Everything was fine till I looked at the file. I did not find much that will help me from my past. I guess I learned a lesson. Your support people on the phone was very helpful canceling the account. I tried for a refund. To no avail. Will possibly look back at this site in the future. Next time I will check out plans and cost before I make the commitment to join. While trying to seek help there are several sites that try and overstep your site. I don't like that at all.

This company engages in deceptive business practices and takes advantage of unsuspecting customers. When I purchased what was advertised as an ‘unlimited one-month’ background check service, I assumed it was a one-time purchase. There was no indication during checkout that this would turn into a subscription. In fact, my purchase confirmation email clearly stated ‘unlimited one month.’ Only in the fine print, buried where most customers wouldn’t think to look, do they reveal that this is actually a ‘membership’.
To make matters worse, they never send any emails alerting you about the upcoming renewal or notifying you once it has been processed. This lack of transparency seems intentional, allowing them to continue charging customers without their knowledge or consent. No one needs a subscription for a background check service, and it’s disappointing to see a company preying on people in this way. When I reached out to customer service to address these unauthorized charges, they refused to issue a refund, even though their practices are clearly misleading. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company if you value honesty and ethical business practices.

The data I received from them contained inaccurate information and included data for people other than the ones I searched for. I could find more accurate information using Google searches. They charge ~$30 for 1 month, but if I wanted to download any report I would be charged more. As I was canceling the membership they offered free reports and only $16.95 a month. I read the FTC report from 2014 about their practices and the fine they had to pay. They are still using the same predatory practices in 2024. Why are they able to continue? Is there any hope of a refund? NO.

I just use it, took my money and blocked me 2 days later, I emailed them to cancel everything, after a long time they agreed, two days later they processed a payment out of my account, I am currently talking to my bank about the issue to take legal actions against them. And I read about how they sell your information to other parties outside the US. Also very bad service and wrong information. Simply it's a scam.

They keep charging you monthly and then you have to cancel...the information in the "background check is far from complete." I paid for a background check on someone liking for specific information that this site stated would be supplied. When I received the report almost every category was unable to locate. I knew more about the person than the site could find, even simple things such as being married, if they had a Facebook account. It was a complete waste of money.

Initial search indicated person was on a Government Watch List. That's just to make you concerned enough to pay for the subscription to find out. It turns out that they have no information whatsoever about the person being on a watch list. Potentially very damaging to the person being searched and a total SCAM to the person paying money for a report. Really a CRIMINAL representation. They know they are baiting people with a lie. They really should be prosecuted.

Don't waste your money. I found all of the information I could before I decided to try this company. Everything they come up with was stuff I already knew, with the exception of people why MIGHT be associated with the person I was researching. When I dig a little deeper, I found those people were acquaintances from previous employment or previous owners of the house they live in. What a waste of my time and money!

Used this company for one month. Didn’t provide any information that’s not readily available with a google search. I canceled in February 2024 and was charged for months after. I called to cancel and asked for a refund and was denied for over $144 in charges and was told they will just now cancel the subscription. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told a supervisor wouldn’t be able to help me and after I insisted on speaking to someone I was told no one was available and that someone would call me back. I stayed on the line anyway until someone was able to speak with me and they said it was nothing they could do because they only refund for 3 months however they could not refund me because the current month doesn’t count and I wasn’t charge for two months which is a lie. Please do it use this company.

I recently received a notice informing me of what was leaked onto the Dark Web regarding my personal data. Most came from the AT&T breach of 2021. This included my social security number, phone number, an old credit card number and other data. I utilized a couple of free options to remedy these problems but I wanted to be sure what was available about me. I paid Instant Checkmate $35.47 to run a background check on me. The results were underwhelming to say the least. There was no more data in this search than I could find doing a few free searches online.
To add more aggravation, in order to print my results which I had just paid for, it required paying another monthly membership. If you wanted them to monitor your Dark Web data, also free from other sources, they wanted another membership. They offered some other membership service to give you information on your phone which I can imagine is also freely available online. From all of my data breaches to date it has cost me $0. By being foolish enough to use Instant Checkmate, I am out $35.47.

I decided to pay the one month fee $27 to test this site with someone very close to me and I know almost everything about them. Yet this site failed to give any basic public information which is a joke. All the information that I got is very simple and doesn't really anyone to look it up plus tones more available without paying for it. When they were running the search, they were flashing that major things were found but when they generated a report there was literary nothing... Wow complete waste of my time and $27.

I would give “0” if I could. I have been a paying customer for 16 plus years. Within the last two months every time I look up data I would be required to log in and when I put my KNOWN PASSWORD IT WOULD redirect me saying INVALID PASSWORD and VERIFY ACCOUNT, RESET PASSWORD. When I called KD I spoke with Christina. I explained what was going on and told her I am a widow of 74 years and AFRAID to allow people in my home without checking on their identity. Christina said “you are using this as a business.” and CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY!

Beware of this thieving company and be careful not to trust anything from this site. The customer service never answer your inquiries and close your ticket without action. They have fake points of contacts for cancelling your account. Notice how this site is the top search for what you're looking for, other sites have better information that you are looking for and doesn't scare you into getting an account saying that someone is on the national watch list. So very deceptive in multiple levels

I used this company because I needed information on someone for a small claims suit. I didn’t receive the information I was hoping for so anyway I paid the monthly payment and canceled my account the same day. I thought everything was good until today I received an email stating more money was taken out of my account. I looked at my bank account and noticed last month there was money taken out also. People you can not put your trust in this company. You don’t know what information you will receive and canceling means nothing to them. This time I am keeping the cancellation email and made a call to my bank. If they do this to all their customers look at all the extra money they have for nothing. Just to compare I must say I used two other companies like this. Paid for information and canceled same day and didn’t have any problems and I still get to use the site for 30 days.

The best people finder website hands down! Customer service is A+ and their searches are phenomenal! I will never use another search app! Best prices without a doubt. I've used almost every one of these sites and every one of them has horrible customer service, they will take your money and not stop doing it, and getting ahold of them is impossible. Save your money! This website is a scam. After finding really interesting information for free on familysearch.com I was curious about my grandfathers' military records and Instant Checkmate advertised having them. The site spends about 10 minutes pretending to download information which is silly given the internet speed in 2024. Not only did they not have them, they did not have 25% of the information that was available for free on the other site. Only had one grandfather's last address and death date, the other one only his death date.

It is impossible to unsubscribe. For over a year I have only been met with automated emails from bots that tell me my account is not found and therefore they cannot cancel it. So every month I get a new charge, each time I reach out to the customer service desk I get the same message from a bot saying they are going to solve my issue. I wish I had never signed up.

It was great at first and I loved it. Then I started only getting part of the reports saying error loading. That seemed to have gotten better for a day. Then I was suddenly locked out of my account in the middle of something. It says to call customer service to get back in. I called and couldn't get anyone. I have sent 2 emails requesting to cancel and requesting a refund since I couldn't even use it a full week when I paid for a month. I have got no response. I am very disappointed in my whole experience.

I researched Background Check information on their website & what they indicated they could provide and/or uncover, the price and the reviews. I thought it to be a little pricey, but considering the information they promise to provide & the numerous sources they indicated they use to locate the information, decided to pay the price they quoted of $35.12 for a month of unlimited reports, which they also stated would be updated as new information is located. I paid for a background check on a person very close to me at their quoted price of $35.12. Upon filling out their requested information necessary to provide the report, before letting me access the report they then came back and said there would be an additional charge of $3.99. Since I’d gone this far I paid the additional fee. Upon receiving the report I was shocked to see most of the categories say “no information was found on this category.”
The only pertinent information that was provided other than the persons name & address (which I already knew) was registered sex offenders who live in the vicinity of the persons house I was doing the search on. I knew the school this person attended, which the report again stated “no information found” and I also knew the county, state and city this person was married in and the person's name they married and again the report found “no information.” I am 100% sure this information is on record with the county the marriage took place in, so it seems unrealistic the “numerous sources” they use to locate this information couldn’t find any records at all. And as I stated earlier, almost all the categories they checked records on (supposedly) came back “no information found.”
The pitch they gave on finding “secret/hidden” websites used by the person your searching and that you’ll be surprised at what they can find and what you’ll read when they provide the report, in my opinion, was blown out of proportion and used to lure you into buying their services. The report provided the searched persons Facebook & My Space addresses, but when you clicked on those links to see what & who they were talking with, you needed to use the searched persons sign in information to log into their account & pages they may have been on or who they talked to.
Providing the searched persons account website addresses and then saying “no further information found” is not the same as being surprised at what they were looking at & who & what they said to each other. I feel I wasted $39.11 and would have found more information spending the time searching records myself on free Internet sites. I would not recommend their services! Very unsatisfied with what they promised vs. what the report stated.

They indicate that they will provide a free list of your military time but upon giving them all the information requested and 20 minutes later they indicate that the record is ready but you have a high cost that will be charged. Do not use this service for your military time!

The gentleman on the phone provided superb service. I was not able to access my account on my new device because it was not sending the email for verification. He escalated to his supervisor who said we needed to submit a ticket which would take 24-48 hours but he was determined to help me today and we tried one more option and it worked. I am grateful for his determination and superb service. You should give him a raise or promotion!

The site was easier than navigate around found information that I didn’t know. Very helpful and the bonus of the registered sex offender‘s in the area was also a big help. If you try this out look at the sex offender page and know your surrounding area. Keep your kids and grandchildren safe. I will definitely be back when I can utilize it more otherwise I would definitely keep it. This is an awesome site.

Will never use this service again. Does not give enough info. Everything provided can be found thru public records. Just a scam to take people's money. Horrible product, I hope the truth gets out about this bad product. Word will get around and anyone associated with this should be ashamed. This is a shame.

I signed up hoping to be able to do some quick background checks on our employees but after signing up, I noticed it wasn't for use by employers. That's fine - I should have been aware of that but didn't do my homework. However, to start with I did do a background check on myself and was amazed at how many people it associated me with. People that purchased my house 20+years ago. Why would they be in my background check? I do not even know them. Then I downloaded the file as a PDF and was charged 3.99. Nowhere did I agree to pay for a PDF download. I called and canceled. I guess we will see how hard it is to get out of the monthly fee. I won't be back for sure.

When I set this up to check on some things that I needed to check on. I had no problem getting what I needed. Then I used it for 2 months and then when I went to cancel the lady that helped me did an awesome job. No hassles at all. She cleared me and I was done. It was that easy and I was very impressed and she or them were very cooperative. Thank you. Oh, I would recommend it to a friend but it is kind of expensive.

I have been billed twice so I called and spoke to a a very nice young lady who took care of giving me a refund for 2 months. Refunds showed up in less than an hour. I was auto billed for a long time w/o realizing it. I believe I only used the service once, around 18 months ago. So I’ve essentially been paying for something I did not use but your service department was easy to cancel with and was very helpful.

Identity theft has become a huge problem in this decade and it is hard to find out about it until too late.
