When you first look at it, it doesn't seem too bad. It advertises that it has information you can look up. Great! You pick what package option you want and submit your payment. You run the scan and realize all the information that you were given show. Is the same information that you were given for free to begin with. You can pay more to get what information is advertised. All I'm saying is if you're going to nickel and dime, and least advertise it that way. Very very disappointed. I canceled within five minutes, ran one report and it cost me 24 bucks to get the phone number and address that I already was given when I ran the sample search for free.

Overall satisfied. One suggestion, it should be easy & simple to cancel. It should be allowed to cancel via an online email. You should not require a phone call, all other services like yours allow online cancellation. It's quicker, easier and more customer focused.

When using my iPhone and or iPad your system shuts down when attempting to add the state where person lives. I have sent feedback once before. Unless I hear back from you before Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, I will have to cancel my account.

I recently signed up on Instant Checkmate to review my records because I have been having issues with mistaken identity. When I registered for the month long unlimited access subscription, all I got was some very old and non-related information. This information was nowhere near accurate on me. I tried to access another report that was to give me more information but they wanted to charge me another 20 bucks. I called to cancel and to discuss a possible refund for being dissatisfied. DON'T USE THIS SITE. IMHO it's just a waste.

I felt this service was a bait and switch. Initially charged $19.99 for a month and was provided with info I already had, address, etc. Charged an extra $1.99 for a printable download. They wanted an extra $19.99 for information beyond address and relatives. Plan on paying $50 if you want more information than you already have.

I tried to use this service to find some people I was looking for. At first they make you think the service is free when it actually costs a lot of money. After leaving the site because I refused to pay $22 for a month of service, they offered me a $1 for 5 days. So I took that bite. Once in they provide you with very old information, most of it is from at least 2-4 years ago. But they keep offering you premium information for an additional $19.99. I'm assuming that would be old information as well. Not worth the $1 I spent. I will be cancelling this service.

I subscribed to a trial 30-day membership for $22+. The ad listed all the information that would be provided such as criminal background records, etc. with no hidden fees. I have tried looking up several people with very little information unless I want to sign up for the premium package!! I call that a hidden fee because you can't access the information advertised unless you pay more. And you don't find out that info until you have already wasted $22+! Much of the information listed is incorrect like phone #s and you can't tell what address is current and what is old info.
Using fillers like horoscopes! Come on, that's not useful info, just fluff. Get your facts out in the open and tell what your fees include and what you will have to pay $20 or $32 more for, instead of pretending that you get all the information listed in the 30-day trial for $22. False advertising! I not only am a dissatisfied customer, but I will not continue my membership as I had planned. I feel like Checkmate is a fraud and a scam and I will highly not recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to be ripped off of $22. I was really looking forward to using this site. Should have done more investigating to find a legitimate site.

The site gives only information that we can obtain anywhere on the web. It is very limited and gives nothing extra for the money that we can't get on an online free search.

The company got in touch with me today because after I was promised a total refund and got it, they accidentally charged me again, for the amount which was refunded........in this followup they apologized and reversed the 2nd unauthorized charge as well.

I signed up for Instant Checkmate on what I believed was a monthly trial basis. Read the small print! If you do not formally cancel this "service" within that first month you will be automatically billed on a monthly basis. Frankly, after using it once, for 10 minutes, I realized I'd never use it again and it was a total waste of my initial payment. The information supplied is little more than one could get by simply doing a Google search on someone. Additional information is only offered if you are willing to pay MORE for access to that information, which I never did.

This was a scam, in my view. I paid for an account, then fell for the upgrade to premium scam, but got no information that could not be found from a simple Google search. A registered sex offender in my area, whose name I searched, was not even listed as a sex offender - even though their profile and picture pops up first in a Google search. Perhaps funniest of all, a friend of mine is listed in marriage records as being married to his father. Instant Checkmate is a ridiculous scam, and you are bad at what you do anyways. Waste of money!

You promise a long list of information. But once you pay for the service, you find the majority of it is available only if you pay for the PREMIUM SERVICE. And just so you remember you were a sucker, an ad for the PREMIUM SERVICE pops up every 5 seconds so you can't use the service you DID pay for.

I have seen where it has my spouse as my mom and a good friend of mine has her spouse as her daughter. You can't tell which address is current. The arrest records showed no hits on several that I know that have them.

I used their services one time back in March of 2014. I was careful not to sign up for anything that was for more than one month. The report I obtained did prove helpful, but recently I found out that they had been billing my credit card for each and every month since. When I called them today, the best they would agree to do was to rebate 1/2 of the Nov. monthly charge of $24.00. When I asked to be provided any email or evidence that I had agree to bound to a monthly subscription, they stated they could not do that. I guess some of the blame is on me for not being more vigilant in viewing my credit card statements, but I nevertheless it is not right to bind someone to a monthly service they did not need or request.

I paid the standard fee for unlimited searches for 1 month. All the service returned were dates of birth, astrological sign, address and phone number. All things I knew. When I asked for criminal records I was prompted to pay an additional $19.95. Ditto for marriage records. This service is a waste of time and money. I put my own name in and it gave an outdated phone number, said it was "unlikely" there were any criminal matches (I have been convicted of a crime). Don't waste your money, this service is a scam.

It was very shady to charge a fee for only half of the information. Then I had to pay even to get the rest? What really disappointed me was the information that I had to pay a second time to see was not even good information. Really disappointed in your company's poor service and unhanded charging.

I looked up a man I wanted to go out on a date and signed up for one month use. I usually don't use PayPal but went to the site and logged in and found that I had been paying $22 for 6 months. They said they would rectify the problem but I'm not so sure they may do this on purpose instead of their explanation that this rarely happens. They will reimburse me...I hope there is no problems with that promise.

I signed up to look up some background information. To test the accuracy of the info, I first looked up my own information. The current and previous addresses were correct, but that was it. Phone # was 20 years old, arrest information was incorrect (offense not even listed). Marriage info was incorrect as it listed my divorce date as my marriage date and showed nothing under divorce info. No email information was listed. Social media listings weren't even close.
I got the same result for every person that I searched for. The most I was able to get were addresses where they don't even list which one is current. Erroneous arrest records, phone numbers that are over a decade old, no email, erroneous social media links, and generally nothing of use if you're trying to actually run a background check.
Save your money and search the county auditor website for real estate info or the local court website for arrest info. The information you'll get there is much more accurate... and free. If you want more than that, don't use this service at all.

I had been a member for a long time. I use to work on reunions. They will not let me join again if I use the same email address as before. I don't change my email nor do I want to. Why in the world won't they allow you to renew with the same email address? Money is money!

Very accurate review, horrible company. Everything you find for the first set of money you can find out who their parents are, again that’s it then they want 20 more bucks and then they say “Is this who you’re looking for?” with 5 people’s facebooks that aren’t them.. Then they want more money for accurate info. If anyone needs help finding out all that is promised just contact me. It’s so much easier and free and you actually get info off of google and police records online. THIS IS a rip off. Then I call, I get a white male named Horhay. Are you serious? A fake name? They are liars and only refund half of the money. I called exactly 8 minutes after I went through all of this.
I am calling the police or if there are any looking at this please contact me. This is not right. It would be like me saying "We have ice cream cones for a 1 dollar" then charging to make the ice cream cone another dollar. Then charging a dollar for the cone then a dollar for the ice cream then charging to hand it over to you then at the very end saying "Sorry we’re all out of ice cream actually" then saying you want your money back then they only give you a dollar back and hang up. That is exactly what happened....... we need lawyers. Bottom line I’m coming for you Horhay...

On Oct.28 I purchased a premium upgrade for the profile on Joyce ** because I know she has a recent conviction and the pop-up said there was additional information, but there was none. Her arrest and conviction from earlier this year is not included in your information at all.

Pretty disappointing actually. I did a search on myself to see how accurate it was (2 out of 3 maybe) and what came back. Very disappointed to see that everything beyond the basic age, address, phone required an additional fee, which of course was not disclosed before I popped for the one month free. So since I was stuck with paying the $20+ even tho I called within an hour to cancel, I've spent the evening looking people up. At least half of the info has been wrong--disconnected phone numbers, wrong numbers, people have moved, and on and on and on. You're getting good publicity but I honestly don't know why and am VERY unhappy.

I am so disappointed. I paid for 1 month unlimited and wish I hadn't wasted my money. The person I looked up is currently serving jail time and it showed no criminal record?? So I looked up another person who I know has a criminal background and got zero results. Why did I pay for inaccurate information? No, I don't want to "upgrade" for an additional $19.99 to throw away more of my money when no results are found. Classic bait and switch scam.

I registered for the trial to see what information it could acquire, if it was correct and worth a membership? In my opinion it is not worth it. It barely give you any information and then... it wants you to pay more to access the important information you really want to know. I along with others I know do not like hidden fees.

I signed up for the service back in April of 2013 after a contractor had ripped me off. I used their service, which was not very comprehensive, for less than month and they have been billing my credit card ever since. In fact, I had to go to government agencies to get more accurate reports, as hardly any of the arrest and criminal records for my initial search were not in the Premium report that I paid extra for. I apparently checked the button to allow them to bill me $22.86 monthly. There is no information in the account confirmation email stating a monthly amount nor are there any instructions in that email on how to cancel the service.
When I discovered the issue, I could not easily find information on the website when I was signed in on how to cancel. When I called, I was initially told about the little box I selected (shame on me), and that it was my problem. When I asked for a supervisor, they hung up on me. I called back, had to start over, was told I could cancel, but no refund. Then I was told they would refund me 1 month out of 1.5 years of billing. I asked for a supervisor and he told me it was like a Gym membership. You did not have to use it to be billed. He agreed to 4 months of refunds, but would not put that in writing.
These annuity stream businesses really need clear instructions with terms in the account confirmation email. They have no problems sending you substandard reports in email, but cannot seem to state terms of service in email, so you have a record of it. They have been taking my money for over a year and a half for a service I that used less than 1 month, and still had to go elsewhere to get the information that I needed. Instant Checkmate is laughing all the way to the bank. It is ironic that a business providing substandard background checks cannot be more forthcoming with their business practices and is not focused on the customer, just counting the money for their "gym membership".

Horrible experience. Missing, inaccurate information on people I was trying to find, so as an experiment, I looked for family members. Wow, as an example, my Navy Son in California for three years, with family, child in school, cars registered in California - He does not exist. I was given a similar name in the State of Washington even though a slightly different name and way off on both date ranges. Me, pilot's license for 40 years, did not show up even though other free search engines do show it. Lots more examples of really bad data for their source or their search logarithm sucks.

VERY disappointed! Was led to believe the monthly cost that gives access to an unlimited amount of searches would be all I needed to pay.... which I almost didn't even do. I would have preferred a trial but I guess if they offer trials they won't be able to make any money off of people like me because I quickly realized I was deceived by the site's claims and wordings. You really don't get any information unless you want to pay an extra $20... and then who knows what other hidden fees come after that, probably resulting in additional information that is not useful. Also, couldn't find someone who had an arrest record as a "least likely match" but then was unable to actually find or access this person's information. He had a mugshot and everything but was still unable to find him anywhere other than a blip on someone else report. That just doesn't make ANY sense.
I'm frustrated and annoyed because NONE of my searches had information I was looking for without paying those hidden fees. And the constant pop-ups after trying to access a report for "premium services" just enraged me more, because clearly, that's the only way one could possibly get any of the information other than what I could easily find for FREE on other sites. In many cases of my searches the information was completely inaccurate. Spent about 30mins trying to get ANY information since I had already paid for a month of service, and continued to be disappointed and annoyed by those pesky pop-ups for "premium service."
This site is deceiving and not worth spending money on unless you have extra cash to just burn through. Used for 30minutes, and called and cancelled services. I wish I could get a refund. I feel like instantcheckmate should have their own record under false advertisements. Would not recommend this site for anyone. I deserve a refund.

Had difficulty getting to Quick Links - it came up. Then "ACTIVATE your account/Upgrade" screen covered it and I couldn't get it back. Looking for "Home" tab or something. Or save them to a folder.

This is definitely a rip off.... the initial membership fee gives you only the information you most likely already know or can find very easy through the search engines for free... The real information comes with an additional 20.00 charge plus various other fees to get even more info. And then that info isn't always correct... I find purchasing an airline ticket with the additional fees much more rewarding than this experience... that should be a wake up call right there. However if you are trying to run up your credit cards this certainly is the site for you...

I believe your site is sneaky. The costs, and EXTRA costs are not outlined before you purchase/get all info in. Half tempted to turn you in to BBB. In one month I will cancel, just wish I could cancel and get money back. A lot of the info on site is wrong, I knew more going in to this than I got from it. Sorry. I was just looking forward to getting answers that you guys said I would get with the monthly charge but then found out 19.99 MORE for that info and 1.95 MORE for phone numbers...... When I called your 800 number to verify an address, I was connected with Ari, who was so helpful and also guided me through how to cancel my subscription when I had all the information I needed. Some web sites will continue your membership for many months and can be overlooked on the monthly statement from the credit card company

The information I received was useless and generic. I forgot all about this 'service' until I was charged the monthly fee again. I had tried to call them previously and been put on hold for prolonged amounts of time, then got distracted and forgot to cancel this useless service. I called just now and was able to cancel the account; I asked for a refund of the fee but they would only give back 50%.

What a waste of money!! The information you get is not more than what you can get from Google. They trick you somehow to get the premium record, which it cost you $19.99 for every time you press get premium. Luckily for me, my credit card company contact me the 3rd time they charge me. I tried to call. The lady said that I should've read the fine lines?!! Tried to search a person I know that was convicted of felony a year ago, it said no criminal record??!!!! I learned my lesson, please read the bad review before you get stuck wasting your money.

Unable to find complete records... Whether marriage or death. One deceased cousin spent time in prison, was released, later died. No mention found of his crime or time/place spent in jail - thought it would be there. Also, would like to find death certificates or even the obit... So this site hasn't given me more than I already knew. I'll keep searching - I'm sure each state is just different.

On Tuesday October 22nd, I attempted to start a so called '7 day trial' account with this 'Checkmate' company and was blocked online with the prompt advising me to call their customer service #......I did, and they told me that I would need to use a different E- addy. I don't have one so I said, "No, forget it, I don't want to continue with this." They told me to call back if I obtain a different e-addy....."have a nice day, Good bye." The next couple of days my very small checking account is charged $1.00 three separate times which brought me within .23 cents of $35.00 overdraft charge. But if that wasn't enough for these greedy people, the next week, which is today (10/28/14) they hammer my account with the full $29.63 charge for an account that was not even started and/or opened.
I called them today to complain and they pretend to "talk to a supervisor" multiple times just to come back on the phone to tell me they have "been authorized to reverse HALF of the $29.63." I yelled some more and she goes on hold to "talk to her supervisor", she comes back in literally 7 seconds and says she has been authorized to reverse the entire amount this time. "OK," I say, "what about the 1 dollar that was removed from my account on 3 separate charges? And who is going to pay my $35.00 Wells Fargo overdraft charge?" Their reply was, "I am sorry, there is nothing we can do about that, is there anything else we can do for you today?" These crooked companies get away with these very unethical business strategies to hammer down on poor people who can't afford to defend themselves let alone their miniature bank account.

Your information is incomplete. Relatives names are missing, as well as criminal records. I can find the info that I got cheaper on other sites. I even got some of it for free prior to visiting your site. Why is my speeding ticket from 2009 still on display? After three years, it's not supposed to count any longer. I'm not a criminal. You could hamper my ability to get as a driver. It's funny how a person with a REALLY bad criminal record doesn't show up & I do.

After using this service - one time only - at the introductory rate of $1.00 for five days, I was charged for the next 20 months at the rate of $29 a month. Unfortunately, I did not audit my credit card statement and never noticed the ongoing charges. When I called to inquire what the monthly charge was, I was told I had signed up for continuous, monthly charges until cancelled. Apparently, this company claims such information is on the website....Clearly not highlighted by the Company that by agreeing to the initial $1 offer you risk being charged endlessly going forward. I never agreed to such a term affirmatively. I was initially offered a half month refund. Then after speaking to the supervisor, I was offered 7 months refund. I asked them to confirm that I never used the service after the first day - but they refused to investigate. So, it seems these folks in Las Vegas feel comfortable with their unsavory practices - and my $1 search has now cost over $200.

I have contacted the company via e-mail regarding their practices and have stayed cordial with them, I'm not personally attacking any of their members or their company. I solely want a refund, fair and square, but have not been given one. Their information provided is not as advertised and their rates for "advanced information" are criminal - at $20 a head for information the consumer (myself) was lead to believe would be in the initial report. Along with this, the $2 report-to-pdf makes absolutely zero sense, similar to "electronics fee" for movie theaters, or ticket gougers. I asked for a refund for a service I used for a grand total of 5 minutes and 1 very basic check, but they will not give me more than half price.

This site will make you feel they are going to perform more than they actually do. Despite providing the person's name and details, you then need to choose from a variety of other people that are completely unrelated to the person you were looking for. Also once you have paid, "then", you learn that there is a premium level and must pay more. This is deceiving.

It's a good start to finding someone, but the monthly fee is too much and it's ridiculous to be asked to upgrade every time you use the service. Upgrading is an additional cost with no additional information.

I was unhappy with the service provided by instant checkmate. I originally wanted to sign up to find out if someone I was seeing had a criminal history before bringing them around my daughter. In addition to the 23 something that you are charged for one month, all of the 'premium info' is an additional charge. On top of that, I searched myself afterwards, and while some of the information about me was correct, the majority of it was false. Being as my own information was incorrect, it makes me wonder the accuracy of the persons that I originally search for. After that, I purposely searched for people I know for a fact have criminal history, and instant checkmate did not show their criminal records. I am not satisfied with the service at all.

I ran one credit check in June on from a little used bank account. I just made a deposit into my bank account and checked my account online. This company ripped me off for $276.18. They told me it was my fault that I did not read the agreement. They did however refund $42 and change. How does this happen in this country??

In the report section about "Possible Related Persons" - the relationship is not provided. It is difficult in some cases to determine a relationship. In the report section "Telephone Numbers". Phone numbers and other information provided is not correct in some cases. I was also disappointed there was not more depth to the reports, especially regards to prior marriages, prior divorces, and children if any.

I paid the $23 one month fee. I then searched several people I needed information on. Each report and up with accurate addresses (note: publicly available and easy to retrieve via Google search) but failed to provide any more detail. So I searched people I knew had definite criminal histories to check accuracy (note: arrest records available on state websites, mugshot websites, again read publicly available via Google search) and Instant Checkmate FAILED to recover any criminal history on known criminals who have been arrested and convicted. (Note: Criminal convictions are public records)
Within an hour of creating my account I contacted customer service requesting my account be cancelled and a refund. The gal first informed me that their website clearly indicates the information may not be accurate. Seriously?? Then I was offered half my money as a refund. Ok, so one hour of use. Let's do the math.... 1 hour of use is approximately equivalent to 3 cents of my fee and the best they can do is give me half? In sum: huge rip off. The information it provide is easily accessible and free via any internet search. Even if you search for known convict they still don't have information so really they can't tell you anything about the unknown.

The information found on your site is not up to date and downright wrong. I pulled up many family member married to their sons and daughters. Some deceased in the last 2 years not showing. No arrest records when I know they have them. I get better information going to the public record sites where it is free. Really a disappointment. I hope I can get my money back.

I am truly disappointed with this site. I looked up myself and many others close to me, people I have intimate knowledge of and the information you have is so inaccurate. I was fine spending the 23 dollars - what is 23 dollars in the grand scheme of everything. What got me is the fact I was billed again two days ago and they will not refund anything even though my last login was a month ago. Just got off the phone with customer service. Save your money.

The basic service worked pretty good for me, although it took a few minutes for me to get used to the interface. Pretty good information, with addresses and phone numbers. The phone number for service actually works, with a real live help and the customer service was excellent and very helpful. I received a good deal at a reasonable price for what I was looking for!

However after I had wasted about 20 minutes of time viewing crappy animations and waiting for fictitious reports to be "generated" I was prompted with exactly what I expected. We have some information, now give us money. No free viewing of anything, total scam. Why would I pay money to a company that would mislead me in such a way?

The information provided about my husband on this website was literally useless. His current address information isn't even available, which I find ridiculous since it's a matter of public record. None of his criminal history was found either. I am extremely dissatisfied with this service. I tried the 5 day trial for $1 to see what information they provided and the resulting report was unimpressive at best. If you're looking for someone's address, phone number and birth date then I guess $1 isn't bad, but don't expect anything more.
Of course, if you want to get information about police records and court cases like their advertisements boast, be prepared to spend another $19 for "premium data" and pray they actually deliver something. In my case, I wasted $19 for nothing. Oh, and if you want to save any of that information to a document be prepared for another $2 fee for a PDF. Seems like a ripoff to me, but I'm sure there will be some people who don't know how to use a search engine and will appreciate the meager information provided in these reports.
At this point it was no surprise to find out they make you call in to cancel your subscription. I build websites for a living and can tell you there is NO reason for a company to make you call other than making it inconvenient and hoping you'll just keep paying the subscription.
One positive note I can add is that the representative was very pleasant and did not hassle me about my desire to cancel.

The service is great except it isn't up to date. I've used the search engine a LOT but I've learned the information is not the most dependable. When searching for a specific phone number, for example, it shows up as Range Disposal. I KNOW for a fact this is not a number Range Disposal has under contract any longer, if ever. It belongs to a friend of mine who doesn't even live remotely by and has never been associated with or even used Range Disposal for trash pickup. I love the "idea" of the service and it works great for those people who've had longstanding land lines without moving. The people search works good! I haven't run into anything invalid there but I use it MUCH less frequently. In both search options why is there such a steep fee for everything? The information is public, you're making it easier to get it and in one place, which is great! But the price is unfair for the records provided.

The first person I searched, that I was really interested in, was Dahlia **. That was the main reason I joined Checkmate. You do not list her current address (she moved two months ago). It also doesn't have her birthdate, employment or arrest record, which she does have. You also link her name to the wrong Facebook account. I even purchased an advance search and I got no additional information I was looking for.

Instant checkmate gives minimal information. When they started the company all information was made available. They trick you into subscribing and when you find the right information they charge an additional fee.

Not a lot of information. Then you keep popping up with the ad for Premium inform. Information that I was led to believe was already included in my package. The information you supplied I already had for Free! Would not recommend to anyone!

This site claims it will give you a full background check for 21.95 30 days but it then charges $19.99 for anything more than an address, aliases, tel# and zodiac. Don't use this site. I will be cancelling and try another site. In addition, even if I had wanted to pay more, there is NO way to add a credit card - probably for the best. I used Paypal. I hope they don't start adding extra charges at my paypal account.

Given hardly information on the person I was looking for, just a date of birth that I already knew. The search engine is horrible, I input information and gives me information on another names besides the one I was searching for meaning I have to go thru a long list of names not pertaining to my search. I was better off searching on free websites. I would not recommend this site to no one.

In my previous review of Instant Checkmate, I expressed dissatisfaction over the service they provided and stated that I believe I did not get what I paid for. I was contacted the next day by a representative of Instant Checkmate who did everything in his power to resolve the situation.
I was very pleased to know that they take customer satisfaction so seriously and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure customers feel they are getting their money's worth and are happy with their product! I am so pleased that I recant my original review and recommend them. Rarely do you encounter a company who stands by its customers and its product so strongly! In looking up some of the people I know, the birthdates are incorrect and for some of them, you show a parent as a spouse. I had hoped that marriage dates would be shown but they aren't. I have been able to find some friends and have been saddened to find that some have passed away. I wish I could trust that the information was correct.

Promises, promises! I just wasted $22.86 to confirm nothing but my name, age and last three addresses. That's it and that's all. Expecting a tell-all of my life on the internet, the report had nothing! No mention of my marriage, husband, education, degrees, licenses, employment history, credit - nothing. However, for a PREMIUM REPORT, and an additional fee, I could have access to more information? The very same information I should have received for the $22.86! I demand a refund!

I had been seeing a lot of advertising for Instant Checkmate and so, when a need arose, I went with them despite reviews saying I should go with PeopleSmart.com instead. I was happy to pay such a low fee for all the information they promised! However, after I signed up for the one month service, I was asked if I wanted to pay an additional $1.99 for PDFs... They had mentioned the PDF capability in their ad but failed to mention that it was additional. Then the real kicker... the report I received only had an outdated address and outdated phone number. I would have to pay another $20 for the premium report!! Before you sign up, they make it appear that all of this is included in the base price... completely dishonest.
To top it all off, after I cancelled my membership (took over ten minutes and the customer service representative never asked why I was cancelling even though I was obviously disappointed) I went over to PeopleSmart and got a current address and phone number for free... never even had to enter a credit card number. I have half a mind to go after Instant Checkmate for false advertising, especially since they say they "don't believe in secret trial periods" and then the representative tells me they do have trial periods but on a case-by-case basis!!!

Before subscribing and paying it was showing that I will get all sort of information and received so many warning to what I could possibly find, so I went ahead and paid for the report to receive nothing, not even a contact number, or email or anything!!!!! And they had the audacity to direct to order the premium report and pay additional 19.99 on top of the initial 22.95 I paid. What is this if not total misleading and a rip off!! I am out of the country, and there seem to be no way to contact them by email, only by calling.

Be very cautious with this company. I signed up for the 30 day trial period for $1.00. I called to cancel about 1 week after I signed up and was told it was cancelled. They charged my card even though I cancelled in the stated time frame. You also cannot email to cancel, therefore you have no record of the request. I've emailed a couple of times about getting the charge removed with no response.

Wanting to cancel my account, I called 866-4905980. I was given the cancellation number ** and was told to expect an email confirmation. Shortly thereafter I did receive the email, but was astonished to read that I did not complete payment. For what, the cancellation?? To review: I made one inquiry and found the info to be outdated and, for the most part, available free through other means. I've been charged 2 monthly payments (July and August) and after having called and receiving a cancellation number, I'm still liable for a cancellation charge?

I even searched for someone I know has a felony and misdemeanor charges against them and is very easy to find on Judici.com. Yet Instant Checkmate apparently couldn't locate this information. THIS IS NOT THE SITE FOR ACCURATE INFORMATION. This outfit provides a sloppy product with co-mingled information from people with similar names. Search your own name and find information reported as "possible?" This outfit purports to report valuable information when, in fact, they begin their reports with the caveat, "possible" because they know full well their search engine is sloppy and indiscriminate.

I've used many websites over the years to conduct free searches for information on individuals, but decided to finally throw in the towel and pay for a search site. I used Instant Checkmate as I had heard it was a reputable site. My experience was exactly the opposite! It simply sucks you into their system once you provide payment and then requires you to pay for creating a PDF version of your report (????) and then withholds more data than it provides by offering to search "Premium Data Sources" for everything from Personal Data, Criminal Data, Business Data, Asset Data, Driving Record Data, Bankruptcy Data, and Licensing Data!!
To top it all off, the data that they did provide was mostly inaccurate: they listed a single criminal data listing for someone of a completely different ethnicity; failed to include my adult children in Family/Known Associates; they did list an ex-wife of my father from 20 years ago which was surprising; someone with an FAA Pilot's license who's name did not even match mine; inaccurate LinkedIn Profile, failed to list any other social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Classmates, etc.. This service provides nothing that you can't find with a couple of Google searches and is an absolute waste of money. This experience simply reminded me why I've fought the urge to pay for personal search information in the past!

I used this search one time - completely inaccurate and they add charges for pdf files. Also if you open up a premium file in very light letters they tell you they are charging you another $20 for the file. I wonder how many people accidentally click on it? How dishonest. What a waste of $24 dollars and my time. When I called to cancel the employee was rude and did not even acknowledge my complaint, he just ignored me and said I would not receive anymore charges. What a scam.

I did not know that, if you want to re up, you have to use a different e-mail add. My account kept reverting back to the old e-mail account, but I've straightened it out. The woman I spoke to today and the lady on Sunday were magnificent, but I made at least seven or eight calls and it was very frustrating. For what you people charge, this OUGHT NOT BE! I went on their website and believed I was getting information for $1.00. I immediately contacted their company when I realized after 5 days, they were going to start billing me monthly $29.00. When I talked to their representative, I was informed that my information never went through and I didn't have to worry; I wouldn't be billed. I never gave it another thought. This was in March. Today I was checking recent transactions with my credit card company and discovered that my account has been charged this entire time, totally over two hundred dollars for a service I never used or had knowledge I was a member of. When I contacted the company, I was informed that there was no notations made in my account, and they would refund half of this months bill which is $15.00.... So basically they took over $200.00 from me without my knowledge and no one in this company cares because their representative never properly notated my account when I called in March. This is robbery and I'm deeply disgusted.

The first review I read stated "I could get as much information from a phone book." That is completely accurate. You sign up thinking you will get a decent amount of information on people, but you get basic outdated information (if you're lucky) and if you want more information (assuming instant checkmate even has it), you have to pay more money. I declined and found out more information trolling Facebook. Furthermore and I guess this is my fault for not reading the fine print and not knowing better, if you pay for a month (which seems obvious to me that you want ONE month of service), naturally, you continue to be billed unless you call them and cancel. I paid about 45.00 to find out nothing.

Also, he is married and has been for the last 25 years and you made no mention of this. Got his divorce of 33 years ago wrong also and as of this frustration turned into anger when I paid an additional $19.99 to find out that he was a registered Republican. Are you kidding me??? P.S. The basic service must draw from the most incomplete set of data files in existence on arrest records. Basically it is useless as multiple test cases do not meet the reality of fact, consequently as a person locator it isn't bad but as a arrest record report it is just not worth a cent.

I agree that the information they provide is not satisfactory at all. I paid $23 to get an old phone number and they tell you if you need more information you should sign up for the premium membership which means more money and mostly no valuable information. What really got to me is the recurring payment they charge you every month. They have the agreement for it hidden somewhere in the payment process. I am glad I used PayPal so I was able to cancel it. What really makes someone make the payment every month for one time horrible service. For me it looks like a scam and they should be reported to the BBB. The only good thing is when I called they did not give me hard time to cancel but I was not offered any refunds.

I found too much of the information to be inaccurate and completely wrong. I did a couple of test searches that I am sure of and they were somewhat or completely inaccurate. I still have some time left on my searches of thirty days/1 month, but on average, the information is skimpy or wrong. I would not recommend this site to anyone else, based on my experiences, up to now.

Save yourself the expense and steer clear of this site. After paying a fee it will give you the name and number of the people you are researching. Want more, oh, it's another $19.99, but you've already paid your enrollment fee so that money is gone. How is this site allowed to continue operating? Any good reviews are obviously insiders.

I did a one time check online to see what this service was all about and did not authorize monthly withdrawals from my checking account via debit card. They have been taking $29.63 out of my checking account for many months before I figured out what was going on. Their listing in my monthly statement looks like it is my bank charging me for services so I let it go. I will get every dollar back via lawyers or etc. if I have to. I am absolutely furious and plan on writing to the Attorney General and etc.. Do not give this company your credit card number for any reason.

They gather all your information and then inform you of the costs after making bogus claims about criminal records found about the name you entered, which I tried first with my own name. There were no criminal records except for those with the same name but no connection with me or my location. They scare you into buying the report and steal your money. They are a scam and feed on people's fear of identity thief and having incorrect information. They need to be sued.

I feel that they trick you by stating they have found someone but once you sign up and pay, they do not have any information on that person and they cannot locate this person.

And the rest of the information was just 100% inaccurate. It was so completely stupid I had to laugh... expensive chuckle for nothing. AND I MEAN NOTHING! DON'T DO IT! I like to find out about people I have to deal with who is coming in my home. I have 3 young children and it does feel better about knowing who they are. I do believe giving people chances. Not all people are bad arrested for having unpaid parking ticket, things like that. Everyone deserves a chance, some people do change their lives for the greater good and I don't mind doing that if they are not a sex offender or unpaid parking ticket. This is a scam. It shows you addresses only (I can get those off the internet for free). It pretends you can get info on marriage records, arrests etc for a month membership but when you click that info it says you need to upgrade and so I did but still not results! If the persons I searched hadn't blatantly told me they had criminal pasts I believe in the reports. Don't do it, it's a waste of money.

I saw this web site in an online ad and decided to check it out. I looked up myself so that I could see how accurate the search is. Here are the inaccuracies I found:
They did not find my up to date DEA license
They did not find my up to date Linkedin account - they found someone else
They missed my speeding tickets
Under Location History, they missed 2 locations I lived in. They also stated I lived in Phoenix AZ (but I never did)
So it is horribly inaccurate. They do provide you with your horoscope! But this is just the beginning: If you want your report in a pdf (downloadable format), you pay $1.99 per report!!! If you want more specific information (which is actually more informative) about the person, such as Civil Judgments, Corporate Affiliations, Water Craft Owned, UCC Filings, Phone Numbers, Properties Owned, Voter Registration, Old Phone Numbers, Email Addresses, Tax Liens, Florida Accidents, Professional Licenses, Hunting/Fishing Permits, Weapons Permits, Foreclosures, Issued SSN, Aircraft Owned, Sexual Offenses, Neighbors, Business Associates, And Much More! Then you have to pay an additional $19.99 per person!!!
So let's do the math: You want to use the service for 1 month and search for 10 people (for all their information) and print reports for all 10 searches: $22.86 + ($19.99 x 10) + ($1.99 x 10) = $242.75. And this business uses the usual pay/cancel technique I hate: You pay for a month with your credit card and if you don't cancel before the next month (usually because you forget) then your credit card is billed automatically. And the only way to cancel is by talking to them on the phone rather than be able to cancel via your online account page that you are forced to create when you begin the service.
Why create an account when you can't alter your payment information? And then when you call them on the phone you get a automated phone system in which "cancel your account" is NOT an option, so you have to guess which of the choices is most likely to reach a person who can cancel your account. Hate it! Anyway, I am canceling my account after 2 hours. I regret wasting 2 hours of my life on this business. This review is to prevent other people from wasting their time on this business. Honestly, I don't know how this business has gotten such good reviews on this website.

The website hides the fact that it will charge you after 5 days. I put in one dollar for my trial only being told in small text that I would be charged more later. And was charged 25 dollars 5 days later. I contacted support once in the morning, however their support was not open. I ended up calling the next day, I was told I could not get my money back and all I could do was cancel. TL;DR They don't make it obvious you will be charged again.
