Not sure what I paid for. Looked myself up and feel like a sucker for thinking this would have any accurate info that I'd like to see.

When becoming a member please beware that "unlimited" is not unlimited. I was unaware of this. My account was flagged and "archived," meaning it was cancelled. Had I known this, I would not have tested the accuracy of this site, given the limited access. However, Checkmate was professional in refunding any money due and explaining what occurred.

I felt the access was very limited. Maybe if you got the premium report you would get some of the information that you expected but in the initial report MANY times it would say that the information wasn't updated and it would be at some point in the future.

I have a long rap sheet including several counts of attempted murder, forgery, vagrancy, armed robbery, drug dealing and manufacture, and more! But when I looked up my name, none of this showed up! This website promises that you can get information on your criminal background and other information, but provides nothing. They took my money and gave me no information.

I see that a mistake exists on your report for me. I never lived in Missouri. The entry showed up in a credit report a few years back, and I asked the credit agency to correct it.

I went to Instant Checkmate because of the reviews on this website. The only thing I wanted was my driving record, more specifically my speeding tickets because a job application required it. I didn't get one, even though on the "Arrest Record" section of my report it lists "speeding tickets." I know that I've received speeding tickets. I was there when I got them, and I remember paying the fines. What I don't remember is the exact dates, which is why I paid the premium fee for this report. Moreover, the marriage report doesn't even list my marriage, but it provided me with 20 other marriages involving someone with my name. I called the number to complain, and the representative said, they don't provide driving records. All he did was ensure I wouldn't be automatically continued after a month, which this company will take their fee from your credit if you don't call them to cancel. Bottom line, I want a portion of my money back.

I signed up for one month only and realized months later they were still drawing from my account. The information I was able to obtain from my "membership" was nothing more than I would have found from an internet search. Most information was incomplete and some was inaccurate.

I wanted to do something simple. I wanted to see if there were marriage records for a certain individual in a certain city. After paying $22 and change and having already waited for the theatrics of all the various searches this site ostensibly does, Instant Checkmate came up with an address and phone number (I already knew both so this was useless to me). I then received a message saying I was viewing 18% of the available information on my subject and I would have to pay more to get more information. Classic bait and switch. I refused to pay more and in the end all I got was useless information. I am not sure what the order number is. When I went to check my email I realized they didn't send me any confirmation in email, but they certainly charged my account. I am attaching a copy paste from my online banking. The order number I am using is a number from the banking transaction. I am not sure if it is specific to Instant Checkmate.

A new feature. When I try to activate, it says it can't. Nothing further. Just, try again. Not sure what is going on here. Tried this with getting UPDATES, and also to add on unlimited phone number searches. The same problem.

First the site was good other than the fact it said I was married to my sister. Criminal reports came up good at first but now not showing them and asking for more money. Some of the information was not true.

Total waste of money. I did a search on myself just out of curiosity. There was nothing to be found. I have a professional license...It wasn't there. My address was not there. My Facebook profile wasn't even shown. It was 2 other people with my name. Even my silly astrological sign was wrong. I guess my stalkers are out of luck. Maybe that's a good thing.

The day I purchased 3 months subscription with you you all knocked me off the site and it said you may have cancelled me. I was quite upset about this as I am a returning customer. I called to find out what the problem was and you told me after taking my money I had to wait for your detectives to review my account. Horrible business ethics. Then you never contacted me if the account was active or not and I had to call to get it activated again. Your auto-computer signaled me as suspicious. I suggest you get a new method since obviously you blame the customer for false actions when they have not done anything. BAD BUSINESS. I will think about the next time I join after this experience. It was rude too!

I found quite a bit of bad information: possible relatives contain 2 people one that I know the other was possibly a fraud situation where the person was portraying themselves as my wife to abuse my credit card. How can this information be removed from your service?

Well I did not get the info that I wanted, to be exact I needed something different. Later realizing that Instant Checkmate is not the site I needed, I called them canceled so they wouldn't charge me in a future. They were very helpful and pointed me in the direction I need to further my search for free. And then (I really didn't expect that) they refunded everything just because they want satisfied costumers. I was very impressed the way they handled it. I didn't even ask for it. Now if in future I would need services they provide, I would definitely go with Instant Checkmate because of this experience! So thank you!!!

The only objection I have with Checkmate is the automatic renewal. I am unable to know so far in advance as to whether or not I can afford another six month period. I am on a fixed income. Everything else was fine.

I ran a special member report on myself that included false information, did not include my married name. I proceeded to do a search of the person I initially signed up for and to get the information I signed up for (what they advertise) background check. I was quickly prompted to pay an additional charge of $19.99 for the premium information. I called customer support only to be told they do not offer the 3-day trial and that I would be charge for 3 months and an additional 1.99 for a pdf. BEWARE!!!!! The information I accessed through this site, I had already found for free on the internet. Basic basic information. Very disappointed I even fell for this SCAM. Oh and when you cancel, they tell you they will send you an email within 24 hours, and if you don't receive it you need to call back..... So now I have to spend my time making sure they do their job.

When you look at their terms and conditions they state they have a $1 fee for 5 days service. When you try to pick up your information, the $1 fee for 5 days is not in the offering and you must sign up for more money!!! Their answer was that's a random sale. Well, that doesn't say that in its terms and conditions!

I am trying to put together my 60th high school class reunion. There were 99 in the class. Of the all of the ones, I inputted about (50) I found results on (3). Imputing my own name produced no results. Please let me know, what if anything I was doing, resulted in such poor results.

DO NOT use this service. They charged $40 and provided me with less information than I found searching on the internet myself. Don't be fooled by the extensive "loading pages"; it's truly running a basic google search. In addition, you have to call some hotline in order for your account to be canceled. To add to the unprofessional nature of this service, they even claim to provide you with horoscope information! That is definitely promoting stalker behavior!!! This site is not for anyone who is doing a serious background check. DO NOT use this service.

I have always wanted to try out your site. I did and was so totally disappointed in your information on me. First I paid 20 something dollars for what I thought was going to be a criminal records search as well as a background search. It takes you so long to get the information. I could not believe that I had to pay extra for the pdf. Then to get the information I thought I was getting cost me another 19.99. Altogether I paid about $42.00 and Most of the information was not correct. Very disappointed. Can't believe I paid so much money for wrong information.

Ugh. Seems like they want your money without giving you the service. I have an account with them, that I am paying monthly. I was in the middle of using it and I received an error message that my account had been suspended, and to call customer service. I called and spoke to ** in customer service, and she couldn't help me. She would have to have written some kind of report and send it off. Ridiculous! If you are going to suspend me for no good reason while I am still paying for the service, then you better have someone who answers the phone who can resolve it!!

I was looking for birth, death, marriage, divorce, etc. for relatives not close to me. Did get some information which thrilled me but you only limited me to very few searches before you cut me off. In what I read, it said unlimited research. I have been able to only check every other day and some of that time I was traveling and will be in the future. I was very disappointed in that. The information I received was very good and I appreciate it. Can this problem be corrected for me? Please advise.

Thank goodness I only spent $1.00 (about $20 less than everyone else, apparently - and the only reason I'm not giving 1 star) for a 5 day trial. As noticed by other people, the information pulled was actually LESS complete than what I pull up simply googling myself, and about half the information was for completely wrong people anyway. Do I want to pay an additional $20 for MORE information that's probably just as wrong and incomplete? Hahaha NO. Fooled me once, shame on you... won't fool me twice.
Thank goodness I had the foresight to call and cancel my trial, because as I was informed during the call, I would have been automatically charged to continue membership without my explicit consent. The gentleman was certainly courteous and helpful, at least. Even as I write this, I've received the cancellation email, so that's great. I suppose if you're going to be running a business in a slightly shameful manner, your customer service needs to be up to snuff, so they've got that in check at least. Avoid this site. Invest the 5 minutes to call your internet-savvy nephew, he'll be able to pull up anything this report can. Buy him ice cream and save a few bucks.

He happens to have same initials but different date of birth. I offered to send them my current photo and they declined. Happen to have my own website with my photo -- but again their systems do not seem to get that either despite its top living on Google!

I signed up to locate a date of marriage and divorce. When I went on, the information I was looking for, was not there even though it told me it had located the information for the specific person I was looking for (the information located was different people with the same name but different ages and different states). Frustrating, but oh well. I went to cancel my account as I didn't find what I needed, and the only way to cancel the account is to call customer service. Signing up was online, yet canceling I had to call someone. When I finally got someone on the phone, they told me they would cancel the account, but I would still be able to access my account for the full 30 days that I paid for. This was wrong. I can no longer access my account. I paid for 30 days, and only received one day.

I paid for this report and received all the same info as I have with a Google search! I wanted to know whether or not the person was married and it sent me info on other people with the same name. Then I wanted to use the phone look-up feature and in order to do so, I would have to pay another $23. So in all I wasted $23 and have no info that I didn't already have.

I believe that the promises made about being able to obtain information and cost is untrue. In doing a report I was asked for more money to obtain "detailed" information. Just wanting more and more money for everything. I think that false advertisement was used. I want my money refunded. The information I got was the same information listed on google for FREE... I signed up to try their service out and paid the 22.95 cost for the first month and was led to believe that this would provide a complete background check. (I used myself as the test to see how accurate it was). I was surprised to discover that it only provided very basic information at that price. Name, address, relatives, phone, horoscope. If I wanted more detailed information like criminal records I would need to pay an additional fee. That information wasn't disclosed upfront so I immediately canceled my service... though I still have to pay the original fee.

Kept coming up against more money needed. If I had gone for the original 23$, I'd be up to 43$ just for my report! So this was not helpful in any way. This site said that my report would cover all the info that then became covered in the "premium" report. Glad I only lost $3.

Report basically included name, DOB, address, marital status, informed whether or not there was a criminal record but no details, sex offenders in the area, and best of all ZODIAC sign! Really?! So basically information you can get for free on Facebook. If you want the details, which is why I paid for the membership, you have to pay yet another fee. Not worth it! Don't waste your money. Just Facebook stalk for free!

I performed a few searches only to find out that every time that I did NOT get the results that this business said was available, it was always available at ADDITIONAL COSTS... $$$... that is their search yielded NO results available; however, "Oh, you want to know that? Very disappointed... Checkmate promised a complete Report with Social Media accounts, personal Info, online activity, hidden profiles, "also reveals known aliases and nicknames", NOT! Proclaiming for "this price" you will have access to "all this" information... First, I had to pay $29.95 for a One Month membership and somehow I was prompted to pay an extra $19.95 to get again "FULL ACCESS" to a "premium report", got nothing on the social media accounts and online activity! Paying for this was a waste on money! BTW, No Receipt or Order Number given... just an e mail.

I wanted to find a site to do background checks on. I started with Instant Checkmate. First I wanted to verify their accuracy so I searched myself, 2 late spouses, 1 ex-spouse, and my son. All the reports were so inaccurate. At best maybe 25% was accurate, AT BEST! I also did not like all the additional charges. When it is said and done you have spent a small fortune and have really not gotten anything for the additional charges. I like to know upfront what something is going to cost me. I don't like paying one fee just to be asked for many more fees to get what they say I will get when I got started. I find this deceptive and dishonest. I will never use them again. I can't see paying for inaccurate information.

They advertise as 'You Get Access to Tons of Public Data' and once you pay the membership fee (1 months) for 22 bucks you get very basic info that you can easily search via Google. If you want more detailed info you have to pay 19 bucks extra. Not only that, they will charge you 1.99 bucks for a .pdf format. This is just a pure scam. You think you would get all the information that they can find for one single fee, but no... “Just pay us more and we give you a tiny more info.” Will never trust these kind of services again. They have the same access to the information that you have. I guess they pretty much just do a Google search and provide that to you for a fee. I cancelled the membership the same day as I signed up... useless service. Angry customer.

I have had numerous problems with this website. I am trying to locate people who were in a boy's organization with me for a reunion and my account has been suspended 4 times in a month. I have called to complain each time. It has taken over 24 hours for the account to be restored even though I was told my account would be marked "priority" and no one has yet given me an answer as to why I was flagged! I was also told that I would receive an email when my account was restored and I never received a single email notice!

They start off saying they don't believe in hidden or extra charges so I got the one month plan for 22.86. Did a report on myself and when it was ready almost all the information was only available for another 19.99. Thinking this 19.99 would cover the month of searches I did it only to see that the things they claim to have they don't have at all. Down to my email addresses and phone numbers. My traffic tickets were not found. My marriage license not found. A phone number. The list goes on. Then another 1.99 to be able to download a copy.
This is the biggest rip off. Almost all the info in their premium report can be found for free online. I called and asked then if they would just refund my money and cancel my account now. But the guy said no he will cancel my account so I do not get billed again next month but that's it even though I called within an hour of signing up.

I pass my fee to catch up with some siblings and an old friend or two. After being told it was .99 for a day on my first inquiry they hit me for some bogus charge at $ 1.99. I was given a face for my Stepdaughter alright but it was my old address from 10 years ago with my phone numbers that I cancelled in 1998. They said they have more information that was "classified" but it would cost twenty bucks to "declassify". Let me close by saying that their information is at best ancient and discarded or boarding on the edge of fraudulent.

I paid over $22 for a month's worth of unlimited access and after I do, just as I go to open my report, lo and behold there are hidden fees. $1.99 to be able to download your reports which is no big deal, but then they want $19.99 each time you try to access more detailed information, the important stuff. So I paid over $22 for info I could have found through Google for free and it wasn't even correct. I'd love to get my money back. This wasn't helpful at all and I wonder about some of these reviews because I don't consider this unlimited if I'm paying $19.99 each time I unlock portions of the report.

Checkmate had a special for $10 for a limited search. I agreed to that, checked what I wanted, found the information out of date and then assumed that my $10 was wasted. Then the charges started on my checking account. I considered cancelling my credit card, but do need it daily, so my next step is contacting Checkmate. They have removed $29.63 from my checking account for the last three months. I did not agree to this nor do I need the service. My bank said I would have to file papers against Checkmate, and I am willing to do that if I have to. I am a senior living on social security, and sometimes that is the difference between having food and not having food. I tried checking their website and couldn't find a recourse, and then saw this site. I also considered contacting the FCC to see if they could help. What recourse do I have? Can you help? The report is generic, all of the info is available online, and I knew this but the data they gave can be had for free via Google. It was completely misrepresented as a complete report, however it simply aggregated any name even close for the marriage listings (said I was married 12 times or so). Sex offenders' info (also free from NYS) was incomplete or incorrect. Printing requires a fee, deeper detail report required a fee, not worth the $22.86 I was charged, would love to know how to get a refund (yeah right). The shared review are managed, allowing only the positive review, so I'll be sure to share this review in multiple spots to insure it remains visible. This company seems to be far more worried about image than about substance. Please Google for the info before you drop $22 on this "service."

I needed to find my lost relatives and by remembering the smallest amount of information through first and last names, and being specific of which state they might be in, I located my long lost brother who moved down here to the United States years after we have lost contact in our country after I moved away first. Con was that from such define, articulate, search program. I had to go through almost 100+ of list but defining the pro of having to choose what State specifically, it made it 100 times better and 100 times a smaller amount of a list to go through. Traveling and decided to try out this site for kicks. Paid the initial charge, had to pay another $20 for additional "sensitive" info. Did a background check on a known criminal with a long arrest record. Couldn't even tell me the guy's age. A few addresses and relatives matched. Don't waste your time.

It is simple. More than 95% of the time, it comes back no records found. Duh, those are the records I signed up to get. I get bogus calls all the time and can't find out who's calling. What's the point? The others, that pesky 5%... were either ones I knew to use as a test to see if your service is totally useless... or ones I could have figured out anyways. Especially pinger numbers. Disguised callers that harass us, and still can't be found by your service. Yup. Dissatisfied so far. I only stay with you for now in hopes you might actually find a caller I'm looking for. But not for much longer.

After I posted my review of Instant Checkmate, I pretty much wrote off the money I had paid them. Much to my surprise, they contacted me on their own initiative and offered a full refund. This is the type of customer service I would like to see more companies offer. I have changed my rating to 3-star (satisfied) because of their actions.

The information the site presented was very little and essentially useless, basically my name, current address and the one before that, my age and an old telephone number. The site continually asked me to purchase a special report containing "sensitive” information for $20, but given nature of the data it had already provided me, I elected not to waste the money. Buyer beware.

You think you're signing up for the one-month, one-time only service, but there's a tiny asterisk that's associated to the fine print on the left that states that you are going to be charged every month unless you call and cancel. When you see the next month's charge, they tell you that they are charging you for the next month anyway, but will cancel future payments. I did a background check on myself using Instant Checkmate and they didn't come up with all that much and even got some of the phone numbers wrong. You have to wonder how thorough a job they do when they resort to those kinds of tactics. There's other businesses that do background checks, I recommend using them.

The recommendations say to try using "ALL" states if I can't find a person, but when I do this it says I have to pick a state. Please fix this. Most of the other parts work well. The criminal reports are way off - most of the people listed have the same name, but are very different people.

My own personal research without your website yielded better or the same info as I already had so I felt like I have been charged for nothing new. Also, I could not order the upgraded report as my credit card put a hold on my activity, since I never do this they thought it was fraudulent use of my card.

I paid for one month membership. When I was finally able to view the findings... the information I received was old. Any criminal records were unavailable..... OH, but if paid another $19.99, that information could be accessible to me. When talking with their customer service agent, I was told refunds would be made on a case by case basis. I'm hoping to get the refund, which I'm told will take 3-5 business days to be back in my bank account.

Paid for the one month membership then you get access to information that you could have gotten by Google searching. Then I had to pay 20 bucks to view arrest records which did not even work. I searched myself knowing I had a record from past being a young trouble maker. It showed me nothing about the few arrest I've had. The information is all mixed up, had my address, phone number but someone else birth date and just had a terrible experience with this background check search. I have learned my lesson about these searches. I just now hope I don't get crazy charges on my credit card.

When I ordered the report only wanted it for one month, then saw on PayPal it was a recurring charge. I called that night, and was told the charge took a day to show up there. Called again a few days later and it was resolved and confirmed with an email. The operators were very nice though.

Initial claims are vague and misleading. You are led to believe that with your selected plan/payment you will access the reports that are mentioned in the "lure you in process". The initial reports of every search is simplistic and you can get it for free with a little search here and there... To get more "in depth" reports you have to pay extra ($19.99) per report. You can end up paying hundreds of dollars if you do multiple searches. At the end, you are not guaranteed that the information is truly for the person you are looking for or that it is congruous. Total waste of money in my opinion.

I was the victim of a credit card fraud where someone used my credit card number to sign up for the subscription service. Once I was able to track down the company via my credit card company, I called their customer service. They were unable to tell me how someone without the correct billing name or address of the credit card or the 3 digit security code was able to successfully open an account. They took no responsibility for the fraud and told me it was up to me to track down the person responsible. Horrible customer service. Negligent online security. No satisfaction.

I find the advertising for Instant Checkmate misleading. I expected to get traffic records, criminal, and financial data - however for the $22 fee, all you get is a Google search. Seriously...Facebook and LinkedIn profiles? For $22??? Oh...IF you want to save as a pdf...that's another $1.99. Then, the bait and switch occurs: want all the data we promised before...that will be another $19. Seriously - be upfront about the BASIC service and I would not have purchased it. Misleading.

I'll begin with a positive. When I called in to cancel my account, it was done without too much trouble. As for the website and Instant Checkmate services, it follows a predictable trend in internet services today and that is to bait and switch. They promote the ease in which it will be to obtain information and then when you join and pay their asking price for a membership, all the information you actually wanted to obtain or that is of any substance can only be obtained if you UPGRADE to the STANDARD membership that you JUST PAID FOR to the PREMIUM membership. Then if that wasn't enough, what I really needed as well was to be able to look up someone by their phone number. So I had to pay these people ANOTHER $23 just to do that.
I instantly became sick to my stomach and contacted them the next day and asked them to cancel my account and not to bill me any further. I kept the standard account open since I had just paid for it and because there was some very simple basic information that I was able to use. However, in all honesty, I could have obtained that same basic information on most free public information websites as well as I had in the past. Keeping the membership until it ran out was simply a matter of convenience at that point but I would never join it again.
In summary, I believe most people are like me in that they don't go to the trouble of asking for a refund on their purchase. Thus, websites like InstantCheckmate.com are growing ever richer every day. Sure, they didn't get any more monthly payments from me, but they still got my initial $47 bucks. Multiply that by 100 or maybe even a 1,000 people a day and we can all retire early to our own private island.

I ran a background check on a person that I've personally been investigating. Checkmate promised a complete national criminal records report. Proclaiming for "this price" you will have access to "all this" information and have these intricate graphics showing how they are currently looking into all these areas. Once you pay the price, they show you minimal amounts of insignificant information. Ex. Zodiac sign! No criminal records to be found. I, personally, have found for FREE going to public databases 6 arrest on this person already! Checkmate says they only have access to public records and if it's not in the public records, they can't access it. FREE dirtsearch.com did a better job than this ridiculous site.

I should have known better but I took a chance and went with it. It is a case of FALSE ADVERTISING to me. I tried to look at the names I had already pulled up in the DASH BOARD and nothing but the name of the person showed up. I know of a few people I tried to pull up had criminal records and nothing showed up. I am going to ask for my money back but I already know the answer. I am going to inform them that if they do not refund me my money, I will pursue legal avenues, probably Small Claims. Now if the owner of this company wants to drive from San Diego to the Central Valley, that's fine with me.
I see by the other posts on here that they monitor all complaints, and response to most. I, like others, do not mind paying for services, but not dishonest or misleading services. I do believe a class action Law Suit is in order for Checkmate.

I started out by doing a report on myself. After all.. who do I know better? I expected some things to be off but there were so many things wrong that I demanded my money back. For example, they didn't get my LinkedIn correct. They showed a LinkedIn for someone else. They completely missed my Facebook and Twitter even though I use my name on those socials services. They also got my relatives wrong. Do not recommend spending any money with Instant Checkmate. I will say however they were very good about giving me a refund so I give two stars. But the information is next to useless.

This application seems far from completely user-friendly. A simple side-trip from a screen means you have to go back to the dashboard to continue. Viewing the report is a chore which I have not yet been able to complete after a half hour or more. I might have some compliments or more complaints if I had accomplished more before I was offered this survey.

At times, when I have looked up information for particular individuals, they have not had any criminal background. With these same people, I have found information regarding arrests and news reports denoting criminal activity on Google for free. I only use this as a last resort at this time, and am considering cancelling the service altogether.

Instant Checkmate's site goes along pretending to gather information for your report on all sorts of things including criminal records and arrests, etc. ONLY after you give them your credit card number and agree to a membership do you find out that what you get for that money is a bunch of ** like the person's zodiac sign. I got NOTHING of any value. Even I know that the person I checked on has at least one D.U.I. But I didn't even get that. Ooooohhh... you need a PREMIUM membership to get THAT information! Three words... BAIT AND SWITCH! Doesn't anyone have ANY morals anymore???!!!

Signed up/paid for 6 months of the Instant Checkmate People Search service about a month ago. (I'd give it a C+ in overall value. They want you to spend more money for Premier Search after you've subscribed.) I'm searching for classmates for a high school reunion. Used it briefly and it worked OK. Last Friday night I got on a roll and spent about 4 hours getting down to the S's in the alphabet. Yesterday I got an email that they had refunded my money and cancelled my account. I called and asked why and the lady read me a legal statement that indicated to me I had been red-flagged and cancelled for "overuse".
I asked to talk to a supervisor or manager but none would talk to me, and no matter how I asked why or if there was a usage-limit or whatever, all she would do is read from the legal statement. I asked if she thought this was a little goofy, and after a long pause she said "No Comment". I'll take my business elsewhere, but I find Instant Checkmate usage policies a little bizarre and unexplained.

Was refunded my money when service was not as expected. The information provided was basically correct, albeit old information. Everything (information) on the site can be found for free, but takes time. If busy, this site might he right for you. If a person does not know how to access public information, this site is for you. Was impressed with my refund.

I am not as displeased with Checkmate as I am with the reviews read on CNN. There is nothing earth-shattering to be found. The total data set I received on myself (my test case) was no more than I have retrieved from the Internet using free public access sites. I will suggest phone numbers were 5 years outdated, as was my current address. Just like Experian Credit Reporting, Checkmate does provide a service, but the data is totally accessible for free on the net to those willing to spend the time. Joined and quit in 15 minutes. Not mad, just learned a lesson I should have known already.

I'm very disappointed in your site. I have searched many records and find that they are not very clear or accurate. All of the marriage & divorce records are wrong for every single person that I looked up. Many of the addresses and even the relatives of people are wrong. Some others that I know for a fact have information and social network accounts online are showing absolutely no information at all. It's as if they don't even exist.

The navigation of your site was simple. The downloading process was somewhat difficult. The script stopped running at times and the page needed to be refreshed a few times. I think you may need to fix more bugs in the system. I did an advanced search for more accuracy and simply was disappointed. I used the middle initial for the person I was searching and almost every other letter in the alphabet popped up. I searched for a woman 70 yrs old and I got information for people with that name in their 50's. To be fair, some of the information was accurate and I believe that I noted the accuracy. Overall I am dissatisfied. I requested information on two others, one being myself but have not looked at those reports yet. I sincerely hope that I don't have to pay an additional premium price for every person I inquire about.

Saw the ad and thought would see what information would show for myself. Prior to purchasing the background check, the sites states "WE FOUND 2 CRIMINAL RECORDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE NAME ** IN OH" I have absolutely NO Criminal Record and have never had more than a traffic violation. When you call the company to ask questions, it's a call center in who knows what country. This is absolutely ILLEGAL and the company should be held LIBEL for false information. If I had a potential employer searching this site for me, I would never get called for the job. I also volunteer with children and have been finger printed to prove myself, this is an outrage and appalling that this allowed to stand.

Being a single mom and the torture I had undergone to get this refund of 10 weeks made me feel so depressed and sick!! I am shocked!!

I read several reviews about the service before trying it - many were favorable. A few were not. But, the ones that were not were older. I received my report - with outdated and incomplete information. Facts I knew to be true and accurate did not appear on the background check. I was married to, and later divorced from my research subject - neither our marriage nor our divorce appeared on the report. He was charged with a misdemeanor crime several YEARS ago, and that did not appear. One of the phone numbers listed for him was OUR HOME number from back when we divorced -- in 2009! When I tried to call their toll-free line, all I got was a "fast busy," indicating the number was invalid. With all this being the case, I do feel this was more of a scam than a way to receive accurate information.

I inquired about a person who I knew had at least 3 felony convictions. NONE showed up in their "report". No information re marriages and divorces. I had more info using public court records. Their teaser is to ask for even more money for more info. I expected a full report for the price I paid.

I bought a month and tried it. The service is missing records and any in-depth info I thought I could expect. It was mostly able to find Facebooks and LinkedIn for people. Asked to close it within 1 hour; money wasted really. Save your money and just Google people.

IT IS A RIP OFF! The beginning information on their site sounds like the report will be free, but I knew that was not the case. After filling all of their information about the person you are searching for, they tell you they have completed the search and the report is ready. Now they show you what the fees are, I paid $23.00 for a one month subscription and can search anyone during that time. Once you are into the report which has provided only the most basic of information, if you want to see more of the report it costs you more. The second portion of the report costs another $19.99.
So now I have $43.00 invested. After reviewing the second part the report the window that charged me the $19.99 came on the screen again and I was not going to throw good money after bad so I closed the report believing that the charges I had to pay were severely out of line for what I got. For the money I paid I got mailing addresses and marriage and divorce report. I have access to a phone book and the marriage and divorce is a matter of public record, you can get the info free at the court house. I emphatically advise you to save your money.

I just wanted to take a moment to recommend the services of Instant Checkmate (instantcheckmate.com). I joined the service in April 2015. I was unable to find the information I needed. I contacted the business and simply complained about my problem. Within a month this business contacted me to offer a full refund. When I accidentally overlooked this email and disregarded it, the company sent a follow-up email the next month to check in with me.
I had no idea at the time that my debit card was being recharged for services every month. I didn't even have to look into the issue; Instant Checkmate did it for me. On their own accord, they offered me a full refund for the three months I was paying for their services. This is the most professional online service I have ever done business with and I appreciate it greatly. I definitely recommend you try them out. If the service doesn't work for you, no problem. I gave three stars for my experience. I was able to get the quick info I needed. However, I tested the system by searching for people I know for certain have criminal backgrounds. All of them showed up in your system, but most of their arrest backgrounds did not show up. That made me concerned that maybe I did not have all the info I needed on the person I originally paid to search for. So, overall, I doubt that I would pay for this service again or refer anyone to this website.

I realized my daughter had used my credit card to get on this site. I called to cancel and of course want a refund; now this was in February and I was told I would get refunded my money, not knowing that I was charged two separate charges. And the person I spoke to quoted me the refund price not saying anything about the other charge. Now mind you, I was at work during this conversation; I said OK, thinking everything was good. So why I check my account for another charge and realize I had not been refund.
So I call and the person I spoke with got on the phone and lied, saying the person I spoke with didn't mention a refund. So you know I went there, she put me on hold. So then come back to the phone to say I will get partial monies back as a courtesy and I am like "what about the other money?" "It wasn't mentioned in the conversation y'all had." But I thought he said there was no mention of a refund? So beware of Checkmate - a scam come in all forms.

In short, this site is one step from a scam. The information is incorrect. At each step, there is in-application purchase options to 'unlock data' for an additional $20, which I believed my $23 would provide. Also it set up an automatic payment, without notifying me. PayPal notified me. It pulled available data from LinkedIn which anyone can see.

Phone searches are not very good. Too many "have no records" when I find it for free somewhere else. Cannot find how to review my subscription and its inclusions and exclusions. Can't give you an order number because when I agreed to do this survey, it would not let me finish what I was doing.

This is the best people search I have found. Only thing is that it could be updated better but the main thing I like is I have found information on people and located one's I have not seen or heard from in years. Located missing family members. All I can say is keep up the good work.

The process was a veritable PAIN. My former email kept getting rejected for unexplained reasons. I ended up calling the switchboard and had to establish an account using a phony email address pirated from my original address. All the hoopla was almost not worth the trouble, except that I got a month's usage for my money.

My half brother died recently and I had to find relatives in the states where he lived 1957. Different search engines gave me a name of his unknown father and I succeeded to find his half brother on his father's side. Combination of names and addresses + ancestry.com + Newspapaers.com helped me.

Be careful - the "one-month membership" is actually going to be auto-renewed EVERY MONTH! Also, the information I was able to find was not very enlightening. I didn't realize I was being charged $22 every month for a year! To cancel you have to call in and it's not easy to get a live person. Why can't you just cancel from your account online - because it's a scam! I'm hoping my credit card provider can sort this out for me.

Please do not be fooled by this website. It will only take your money. Read EVERYTHING including the fine print. I feel like a moron as to have fallen victim to the suspenseful trail it takes you on, 'pay more $$, receive zilch!' The info I was given on 4 people was so basic (info I knew myself or could verify easily on my own) even after paying for the upgrade TWICE. Buyer beware!

This website is a joke. I paid $20 for "unlimited access" for one month. The reports provided give info like old (maybe current who really knows) addresses, social sites, and their horoscope?!?!? Wow I can find all of this info (and actually have it be correct) on my own by searching Google. You also have to pay $1.99 to get the PDF report, what kind of company charges you for a PDF? If you want more "premium" information like arrest reports you have to pay an additional $19.99 to get that info PER report. Most of the people I looked up did not have the correct marriage information or even the right Facebook page. I'm fine to pay money for services but expect to get my money's worth, this site is not honest or upfront about what information you will be getting. It's a scam in my opinion. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

I purchased a membership from Instant Checkmate on Dec 4, 2014 to do a background check on the person I was dating. Nothing came up, I was relieved and said yes when he proposed. After a few months of marriage when things were just not adding up, I went to Harris County clerk and typed in his birthday and his last name and I found out I was married to a multi offense Felon. 10 Arrests. How could they claim they are number one for background checks when they miss something this big? I have filed for divorce, had Instant Checkmate given me an accurate report when I purchased it, I would have not even gone on a 4th date with him, let alone marry the guy.

I'm an adult and have been married, so I know for a fact I'm on legal documents. I put in my first name, middle initial, last name, city, state, and even my current age, and nothing even remotely close popped up as a result.

If you don't know your subject's current last name (as when someone marries), this site is useless. Misleading advertising: ads suggest you will find out everything about your subject, but you always have to pay an extra $19.99 to search. Some of the data was inaccurate.

When I search myself it is showing most of all my correct info but shows I'm living in Durham NC. Never in my life have I even visited there. The address in Wesley Chapel Florida I have been for over two years isn't even showing up. I have asked for this to get corrected via email and it's still showing up. No idea what I need to do to get false info deleted.

I use your site occasionally. It usually points me in the right direction. It would be great if there was an easier way to connect the person you are searching for to other family members and locations. This search criteria would be great, especially if it listed approximate ages readily so that you could tell if someone might be a grandma or a sister. It would also be rad if you could get some limited vehicle information. The phone numbers posted are usually wrong. Social media profiles are frequently off. Sex offenders and ** dumbass horoscope signs are beyond useless.

When the site asks if you want to get the full background check and it goes through the process it tells me, "Sorry for the inconvenience but you can't go any further." I called my credit card company and they said that they have nothing to do with it. They are not stopping it from going through so I think that your system needs to be reset, refund the entire purchase price or let me use a different credit card. I went through your company bc it stood out but I could have easily went with a cheaper company and got the full information. Very disappointed in the service with this.

This site gave me her age, her address and a phone number that I already had and does not work -- no divorce records, no arrest records, no bankruptcy records, no employment records -- nothing that he indicated that would be in the report. And I really don't care what her astrological sign is. Ridiculous! A waste of my money. Don't fall for this ripoff!

I signed up for a 5 day trial and the information I received was not accurate and years old (ex. wrong person and address was many years old). I initially signed up on my phone and noticed my email was wrong. I called the tech support and was told they could do nothing about the email and could not terminate that account even though I had verified with my own credit card who I was. So I went ahead and asked for the "wrong" email which so happens to be my account's username hoping to close the account after I had done my checking.
A day later I checked my credit card balance and my account had been charged for the promotional price and a full month. I tried closing the account but there is no option for customers to do that on their site. After talking to **, in customer service, they only offer me half the monthly charge in return (and made it seem like such a burden) even though I wanted to close my account right then (still within the promotional period).
During the session, I brought up the issue of my email being wrong and how I wouldn't get any confirmation from them regarding all this and miraculously **, in customer service could make the correct change in the system so in order to do so; something their TECH SUPPORT couldn't do. I didn't want to go down the road of how that didn't make any sense or how dishonest that made the company now look.
So in essence, I got hit twice for sub-par information. Instant Checkmate isn't honest enough to refund people for service they did not render. I came here and checked out their responses and thought this was a proactive company with customer satisfaction as it's main goal. This is a scam. They obviously only care about making a quick buck instead of providing quality service so people will come back again and stay on as long time customers. Save your money and go with someone more reputable that will give you accurate information and better service.

Your info is old and outdated. There was not enough info to reach ANY of the people that I PAID to find on your website! You lead people on with tidbits of info and then say you have to PAY MORE to get the most basic of info!

I signed up with Instant Checkmate for a one month trial subscription. I used a previously little used email address when I signed up. Within hours of cancelling my subscription I started receiving 10 to 15 spam messages on that account. Prior to signing up with Checkmate, I received virtually no email, spam or otherwise, on that account. "We report, you decide."

Beware of this Company. Got on 1 time to check reference with a $1.00 one-time trial fee if can cancel in certain amount of time. I did this and also cancelled online only to have $29.95 taken out of my credit card without my permission or signature. Don't let them fool you. There is NO $1.00 one-time trial. Called customer service and the girl over the phone pretty much did everything but call me a liar about cancelling my subscription before the trial ended. I will have this investigated. No business should be allowed to steal from someone else's credit card and this is exactly what they are doing. Not to mention the false advertisement. Last I checked that was against the Law also.

I feel like a got total ripped off. You did not list three of my sisters. Two of them are not married, so the last names would be ** , like my maiden name. You did not list my parents. You did not list my arrest record. The most information you gave me, was addresses I lived. Which I know where I lived. For a job application, I will tell them where I lived. You gave me a list of names and addresses that are not even me. You associated me with a lady I never even heard of. You gave me a list of sex offenders, that I could give a crap less about, as long as they don't associate themselves with me and my cats. I was looking for my information that an employer might find on me and your information was UNLESS. I would like a refund, but I am guessing that is not going to happen.

I registered for the $22.86/mo. service for unlimited searches. I gave up on searches after about the 8th search. All the information provided to me was already found sometime ago for free on google search. There is false advertisement in this site. It promised a list of information that I didn't have at hand and after I paid, it withheld the other information it promised and instead, asked for more money to disclose more information. I find this to be a scam, a fraud site and should be investigated. It is luring people promising lots of information and after you pay, the information provided is limited. Then, if you don't pay more, you have wasted your money on information that could be found free online which is not much. I called them to reimburse my money back and they refused. I am now going to proceed with filing a dispute with my bank for that charge.
I highly recommend everyone to stay away from this site. They will give you the same information you can find for free on google search. They promise you more interesting and critical information but only if you pay more.

I got a 5 day membership with downloads.... I have been amazed with the results I've been able to find in such a short time. There is so much available online it's fantastic. I do wish I had more details to help me though. I noticed that there were some connections made that shouldn't have been, but as a research tool, every lead I had took me farther in my search for the family I've never met. Thank you.

Signed up paid for a month and ran report. Access to all significant data was tagged as premium data. The rates are too high for data scraps gleaned from national databases. If the presentation of offered data was stated as mostly incomplete cursory information with up-charges for anything meaningful then consumers would have an honest purchase in hand. I consider my money well spent to get the word out that all data services are premium dumpster divers and should be honestly avoided.

I am looking for accurate information to identify every place that I have lived. I am willing to pay for the information; but, I am not willing to pay $20 here and another $20 at several other sites trying to find all of the locations of my residence. There is no guarantee for any of the information. The information that I saw was too vague to even confirm the minimal amount of data that I need. I will keep looking. I do not need an ongoing service. I need a complete and detailed report on my history for legitimate reasons. If you can recommend a resource that will perform the investigation and guarantee discovery of my residences all the way back to 1972 that is the report that I will buy.

I checked out this service and was disappointed with it on several levels. First off, it took a long time to "complete" its search. The information that returned was all general public record that could have been obtained by a google search. The "criminal record" section was inaccurate and cited a "criminal record" base upon a single traffic ticket from 10 years prior. For $22 a month this is not what one should expect. Then it requires a call to cancel after you wait through a phone tree. No issue taking your money online but god forbid you are able to cancel the same way. Save your money. Just do a search for the person. You will end up with the same results.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Not only was there absolutely nothing of interest whatsoever, but it couldn't even produce a basic report of my marriage and subsequent divorce. I feel I have been conned. Save your money.

This program does not give me all the information that I thought it would. i.e. Doesn't show my marriage of 3 years ago or my current married name as an alias.

After explaining the restrictions of their reports, Instant Checkmate generously offered to refund all fees and cancel the account I created to prevent any further billing to my credit card. I commend them for their courteous and prompt customer service. That said, I think an improvement to their product would be to include maiden names in their document search somehow so that results are more accurate and less broad for searches on women. Please note that my new star rating is based on the customer service of the company and NOT their product.

After paying for a monthly membership and a premium report ($40+), I finally saw the 'complete' report on myself. It was so full of inaccuracies, that there was no way I would be able to trust a report on anyone else. This site wouldn't be worth it even if it was free.

Information not up to date. Tried to upgrade 3 times. Please do not charge my account 3 times for something I did not receive. Very disappointed with results.

The person I was looking up is married and a contractor but none of that info came up. I also know there are more arrest records for him and you did not show them. I did all the upgrades too. I searched myself and the info was not all correct. Have to say disappointed.
