Problem#1. Since the first day we used the computer, we noticed that it took an unusually lon gamount of time to get into Windows Explorer and that is was impossible to click on MyComputer and get a response, even after 1-2hours just seeing if it was busy. Problem#2. After 4 or 5 months of using the modem that came pre-installed, it went haywire on us. Basically it will get dial tone, then as soon as it starts to dial, a screen pops-up and tells us that our US Robotics modem reports that there is no dial tone.

After solving this problem once with AOL, we figured it could be fixed again. However, after 3 calls to 3 different AOL tech's, it still doesn't work. I tried contacting Proteva but I've been getting the runaround from thier 800# for about 3 or 4 months now. I decided to purchase a new modem and will see if that fixes the problem tonight after I get out of school. If anyone knows how to contact Proteva for service,or of a place where I can take it to get serviced, please let me know!

I purchased a computer from Home Shopping Network advertised as having lifetime service and help from both the Proteva Co. and Home Shopping Network tech support. Cannot communicate with either one --tel.#s are automation only.

The computer is faulty with no recourse and no one to talk to. H.S.N. offers no help except to transfer your call into airspace on the phone. Noone seems responsible for this breach of contract. Purchased the computer in good faith, but have been very disappointed with Proteva and H.S.N. network. I believe H.S.N. should be made to own up to it's advertising on tv.

My computer keeps losing profile manager, and hanging up and when you try to back out it takes you back to the desk top. It will hang up on the internet and and when you try to get out you lose everything and back to the desktop you go. I have reinstalled windows 98 so many times that the cd may be worn out

I get very aggravated and my blood pressure go's up to think that I paided this much money for a piece of junk with no tech. support. you cannot get any help from these people. They just give you another number to call. and if you are lucky there may be someone on the other end. but for the most part there's not
