I left a bad review but I'm amending it. DSW was very helpful. My shoes went to my old address. In Ohio, I'm in SC but they didn't give me a hassle. In minutes they sent out an order & 2 day free shipping for the inconvenience. You do have to wait a bit but I'm very satisfied.

I've been a VIP customer for a long time but I always went to the store. Now I can't get there so I order online. It takes them over a week to process the order. I've had good shoes but I won't order again. It just takes too long to get the shoes. At least 2 weeks & that is just too long. I've bought from other stores and I can have the shoes in 2 days. Some 4 but never this long. So long DSW.

I love the shoes that they have which have fair prices but unfortunately, they only have very few choices in my size. I am tall so have to wear a size 11 or 11 1/2.

I have shopped with this company for a long time, but, I will never do so again. Orders place online take close to two weeks to receive. They ship via FedEx, but, in the final week, the order is transferred to USPS which adds another delay. I tried the chat service, but, it ALWAYS says it is too busy. I really don't think the chat service even exists! I phoned and waited on hold for 45 minutes and the line went dead. Using this company is an incredible hassle. There are many other shoes available to have to deal with this.

DSW has great selection online. But they definitely need more narrow shoes for people like me with skinny feet. But they ship super quickly and if your shoes do not fit or you just don’t like them, they will pick them up and return them at no cost to you.

I am a gold member with DSW so I shop online as well as in store regularly. I often find the specific shoes I want online and order. They always come very timely and have an easy return/ exchange police both online and in the store.

Ordered a pair of shoes online to be picked up in the store nearest me. DSW.com took my coupons and credits, then charged my card for the balance. Showed up at the store more than 4 hours later, only to find the shoes had been SOLD to another customer. Manager claimed I wasn't charged and if I see a charge on my card to call Customer Service. Well there IS a charge on my card and I no longer have the $15 in VIP points. To date I have not gotten a response from Customer Service at all - it's like they don't exist! I have tried calling, emailing and Live Chat but never get ANYONE to respond. Total rip off - they sold my shoes and charged two customers!

Ordered online 1st and 2nd day free weekender started, used the code, was accepted both times. No bags were ever sent. A friend did same, DSW response was "we're out of them". This is an unacceptable response. This is also false advertising! I am returning the 2 pair of shoes I ordered due to this. I am very unhappy with DSW over this. Not sure if I will shop here anymore. There are many more shoe stores. They are always too busy to live chat, wait time for phone calls to customer service is too long and they will respond to emails maybe 4 days after. Either the company is going down or they are too cheap to hire more help.

I placed an order online and entered the promo code for the free weekender bag. When my shoes arrived no weekender bag in the box, so I called customer service. I waited on hold for an hour only to be told that the code was not entered when I placed the order and they were now out of bags. I have ordered numerous times online from DSW but this will be my last time. I am very unhappy with their customer service, it's horrible.

The site is easy to navigate, there always seems to be a discount offered, if you have received a discount through the mail or want to you use your points you just add them or the discount code and shipping is mostly free. Oh yes, I always receive my order in 3 days and if you plug in what brand you like and what size you wear in that brand, when you browse for shoes and click to see a style you like, they tell you if you can stay with your size or if you need to size up or down. They really make it easy.

On several occasions DSW sent email forecasting a free bag with purchase and they never have any on the first day even if the purchase I made is early online or at store. On May 20th I purchased $100 shoes, my 20 dollars DSW money was not awarded per Ad: spend $75 get $20. No one answered phones. Wait time stated up to 175 minutes. At 27 min, line was disconnected by DSW. No one could help at the local store. I even sent numerous emails, no one responded. The shoes didn’t arrive. I couldn’t get my refund of 117 dollars. This a shame!

DSW is very reasonable and can always find the shoes you looking for. They have so many choices to select from. They have special offers and also if you are club member they send you money towards next pair of shoes.

Very disappointed. I waited until May 10th to order two pairs of shoes to receive the free bag. Obviously this was false advertised or they only had a total of 5 bags to give out... I know multiple people who ordered the same day as me, mind I say the first day this promotion was going on, and NONE of them received this bag. After realizing I didn't receive my free bag I quickly called DSW. Nonetheless had to wait over 200 minutes per day so I finally got in touch today after 35 minutes.
Customer service was VERY contradicting; first saying sorry but we can only give you 10% off later saying 20% off after I declined the 10%. 20% is what I regularly get off as a VIP member, so I was not impressed. Asking for a bag of the same value or just a coupon for how much the free bag would of been I was told no. Not wasting my breath any longer for this unreliable company I hung up the phone. I usually don't report such negativity but DSW will never get a dime from me again. The customer service is truly unacceptable and all I got was a "sorry".

I placed an order online and noticed a problem right away. The free gift was not added to the order even though I added the code at the checkout and it did not indicate the gift was unavailable. When I tried to call I was told the wait time is 4 hours and the chat isn't working. I sent an email but received a reply several days later when the item was already mailed and I was told that they ran out of the free gift bag. Another time I ordered shoes online they came with anti-theft thing still attached to it. I had to go to the store to take it off. My main problem is that they do not have phone customer support. I'm not going to wait 4 hours to see if someone is actually going to pick up.

I sure wish I would've seen this webpage and the review related to DSW before I placed an online order. I placed an order online 11 days ago & received an email the same day stating my order had shipped. I have been trying to track it via the DSW website as well as the FedEx website with no results. I am told the shipping label has been created, but FedEx is waiting to receive the package. I have attempted to start a live chat several times only to be told that they're too busy & to check back later (I have never gotten that with any other company's live chat feature).
I have tried calling the Customer Service phone # only to be told that the wait time is over 120 minutes!!! What? Based on what I have read here, it sounds like I will be lucky to ever get my shoes or get a refund. I guess I won't be seeing that weekender bag free promo either. I am so disappointed...I have always had such good experiences at DSW shoe stores. I had no idea that their online ordering operations were such a joke. If I can't get a hold of someone through what they provide on the website, I'm finding an Ohio number for DSW's headquarters and calling it.

Bad experience and I will never order from them online again. I tried calling them today and was giving an estimated 3hr wait time. I tried their live chat only to be told the live chat service is too busy. I emailed them and got a response email that they are experiencing high volume and an email response could take up to 4 business days! I ordered shoes on April 3rd they told me my shoes would ship in 3 days. They didn’t ship for 9 days. One pair never shipped and today 46 days later there is a pending charge on my credit card. No email, no phone call. I’m sure sometimes they get it right but if you want your shoes on time and customer service that’s there to help you then order from somewhere else.

Ordered a pair of sandals. They were delivered a week later in a grey bag. The box inside was crushed in places. Opened the box and found the sandals which looked worn, had dirt smudges on them and instead of being wrapped in the traditional shoe box paper, they included the plastic wrapper of a cigarette pack. I took pictures thinking that customer service will be appalled! I also ordered a “free bag” as per a coupon THEY sent to me which was not included either.
I have now been waiting for their customer service to pick up my call for over an hour. There was a message that interrupted the hold music saying that the wait time is over 700 minutes. I laughed thinking it must be an error. Perhaps not! Now I am reading reviews online and discovering how horrid this company is to deal with! Not only will I return the beat up shoes to the store instead of trusting this company with my mail return, but I will NEVER walk into one of their stores again. Back to Zappos where customer service is impeccable. I only ordered from DSW to get the free weekender bag, which is apparently a scam too! I never write reviews but this is the worst.

I ordered almost $300 worth of merchandise from DSW. I never received an email or notification about when my items would be sent. All of a sudden I received a package on my doorstep. Good thing I was home to receive it. I checked my DSW account under my orders and the item I received still said in process. I checked the other items and they also said in process. I then received an email a day or so later and it said that the items were shipped. I double checked to see which ones and all but one had a shipped status (the item I received still said “in process”). I tried to inquire over live chat about missing item, does not work. Tried calling, over 250 min wait time. Tried emailing, was told to contact FedEx.
How can I contact a carrier about a package that was or wasn't sent without a tracking number. I emailed them again regarding my concerns, no response as of yet. Now I am attempting to call customer service again and I have been on hold for 46:40 min (and counting) and the recording in the beginning said the longest wait time was 45 min. DSW needs to get their act together and provide better customer service for their customers. This is beyond ridiculous.

I have attempted to get in contact with DSW customer service multiple times today and each time, I am told by an automated system that the “maximum” wait time is 160 minutes, 180 minutes or even 260 minutes!! WTH, that’s bizarre! So, I haven’t been able to contact them and the problem is that they sent me two pairs of sandals that I ordered (one is sooo small it makes no sense) and failed to put my complimentary weekender in my package. This really upsets me because the weekender is what really caught my attention, thus I made the order yet it’s not even included!
And I’m sure they have run out because my order was placed over a week ago (which indicated that the weekender was in my cart) and these accessories go very quickly. They will either give me a pair of sandals or find another bag because I was promised that bag! Lastly, this makes no sense that I’m still on the phone waiting to speak with someone. So far, the time has been 40 minutes.

I placed an order at DSW on 4/21 for 3 pairs of shoes. I received 4 pairs total but 2 were wrong and I'm still missing 1 pair. I contacted customer service and was promised them by 5/1. They were more interested about getting the 2 pairs I did not buy back as opposed to getting me my missing pair that I've already paid for. Still no shoes! I called customer service and was advised the wait was an hour and 31 minutes long. I hung up. I have now been on hold for an hour and fifty minutes. This is horrible customer service.

I recently purchased a pair of shoes on the DSW site and they were sent to an old address in IL. I called to see if it could be changed and they said all they could do for me is to have me contact USPS to see if they could divert to the correct address. Well DSW sent them through FedEx SmartPost and they cannot change the address, in fact USPS could not even find the tracking number. All this after I waited on hold for almost an hour. Customer Service at DSW is horrible. I have never had this happen before. Anytime I did not receive a package from Amazon, Nordstrom, QVC they resent no questions asked. I will no longer be a DSW customer and will not recommend to anyone I know. In fact I will tell them never to order anything. If you want something from DSW you need to go into the store because you may not ever get the package or a refund. Just an all over horrible experience.

No one will answer the phone!!! There is no customer service. I even tried the option where you have them call you back because their wait time was over 110 minutes! And when DSW called me back they hung up on me when I said hello! I'm trying to give you business. You clearly have more business than you know how to handle. I'm trying to place an order with you over the phone not online because I have a discount code that will not work online and it should because it's new and not expired. It's apparent you have problems or you wouldn't ask people to do a survey after the call. How can I do a survey about your customer service if I cannot even get a hold of a live person to take my order? You are losing business. Your corporate headquarters CFO and CEO should be concerned about this! Hire more people. There are a ton of people that need jobs in the USA. Delivery - would be no stars if possible. Sorry but this review has nothing to do with the shoe and everything to do with DSW's customer service. I ordered $350 worth of shoes (4 pair). I received two pair - I was here for the delivery. My entire order was marked as delivered. DSW refers me to FedEx, who refers me to USPS. I can't get ANYONE at DSW on the phone, live chat, etc. and they don't answer email. They have ALL of my money and I don't have the product. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM YOU AGAIN AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW ABOUT THIS RIDICULOUS PROCESS. Do yourself a favor and find shoes elsewhere. They can't even communicate with their customers and they pawn delivery issues off on a lame delivery service that doesn't require proof of delivery. They have "an arrangement" with USPS, says the FedEx customer service line.

I needed to cancel an order I placed so I immediately emailed DSW to cancel it within minutes of placing and asked them to cancel it since it was outside of business hours. No response. So I called customer service the next day and asked them to please cancel it. The representative informed me that she went ahead and cancelled it. Later that day I log into my account and see that it’s processing, and that the charge was made on my PayPal account. So, I call again and speak to another agent who informs me, again, she went ahead and cancelled the order. I finally get a response from the DSW email team saying it looks like your issue was taken care of, etc. I come to find out, NO ONE cancelled my order.
I had to call about 10-12 times after that to finally reach a representative because they are SO understaffed and each time I called it was a 130-170 minute wait. Sometimes it will give you the option of getting a callback, but most times did not. DSW, do you really expect people to sit and wait for 2+ hours on the phone to reach someone for help? I’ve never seen anything more ludicrous. So I shot them an email and asked someone to call me back because my issue is still not resolved and it is impossible to reach anyone. You guessed, no response and no call or email back for days.
I then had to wait (only) for DSW usual 170 minute wait time, about 45-50 minutes and finally someone answered. She said to me, “they’ve cancelled your order, you’ve only been charged once for it.” I was charged twice. I had PayPal in front of me. She kept insisting I was charged only once. My theory is they just do and say what is pleasing to the customer and what will make them happy even if it’s a lie, because that was the third time that someone told me false information, and they knew I chose to do a survey after the call ended. Finally, she realized I WAS in fact charged twice and I asked to speak to the supervisor who finally, after several days, calls, and emails, and at least 3-4 hours+ waiting on the phone total, finally fixed it.
However, I will not support them anymore. Their customer service is horrible. They are extremely understaffed and incompetent in my opinion. The representative I spoke to was standing up for the two reps who lied to me saying they’re cancelled and says “they’re new, they’re learning.” Excuse me...if you don’t know how to cancel an order, ask your supervisor for help. DSW, just lost a loyal customer of years who will not be spending any more money with you and will be taking their business to another PROFESSIONAL company.

I ordered online and received scuffed, used shoes. It’s even more evident that they are used from where they were sent from - “Returns Processing.” They sent me returned shoes that someone obviously wore before returning them. I called to exchange them (I waited 19 minutes on hold) and they will not be here in time for the event I needed them for so now I must return for a refund. Which means, I must take time out of my day to drive to a DSW and return the shoes AND try to find new shoes for my event. I also emailed customer service and was first told the shoes were sent from an "alternate location" then I was told in a second email that they were "possibly" a return. The box I received reads "Returns Processing," it was a return despite how they want to spin it.

Literally IMPOSSIBLE to reach their customer service department. I have tried calling FOUR different times--each time waiting OVER an hour to try and speak to someone. I eventually have to live my life and hang up. The "LIVE CHAT" option says "sorry--too busy". And I emailed TWICE including my issue, order #, name, etc...only to NEVER being responded back to. When calling, I even pressed the option for "get a call back when you're next instead of waiting 88 minutes"--I tried that twice actually, and neither time did I get a call back. What a joke. I will never shop here again. And though that mostly sucks for me, and they'll be fine, it's the principle. I'm screwed out of $48 and they're dead to me. Get your shoes somewhere, ANYWHERE, else.

This is really lousy service. I have been a customer for many years, but this experience makes me not want to shop here. In addition, the automated phone system doesn't work. It couldn't find either my phone number or order number by voice. It needs to allow manually entry. I have also just tried to get a contact via Facebook Messenger. So far, no luck.

I bought a pair of shoes from DSW that ended up tearing after a few months because of bad stitching. I wanted to see if they'd replace the shoes so I tried to find a rep to live chat with on their website. It said "waiting" every time I tried to connect and then disconnected shortly after. After a few tries I decided to write them an email instead. They responded the next day and told me I could order a pair online, have them shipped to store, and then have the shoes swapped out when I go to pick them up. Awesome. I found the shoes, went through the ordering process, and placed my order. I didn't realize until I received the order confirmation email that the store locator placed my store for pick up in NYC. I don't live near NYC. My own fault, I should've paid more attention.
I tried to see if there was any way to cancel my order through my account–– no luck. I tried the online live chat again–– still said waiting and kept disconnecting. Tried calling the customer service number–– after being redirected from menu to menu and being asked to complete a survey (which honestly made me want to start banging my head against the wall), it finally put me in a queue to talk to someone. The problem: it takes a long time to get a hold of anyone. My reason for the one star rating isn't the people who work for DSW or the stores themselves, they're great. It's the dreadful online ordering process and inability to get a hold of someone to help you within a reasonable amount of time. Like so many other stores that have this same issue, I wish they would work harder on fixing it.

I went into the store today (04/14/18) looking for a pair of shoes because I don’t like shopping at places that sell for retail. I found a pair I liked, unhelped, and made my way to the register. I take full blame in purchasing these shoes without looking at retail price, but when I check out I ask if there’s a military discount, and I am told no, not at this store. I understand each store has its policies but 10 dollars off a shoe because I risked my life so you could sell this shoe? I digress, but when I get home I actually look at the box and notice the deal I get from them, I have pictures as well! I paid $99.99 for a shoe that retailed at $100.00.
I’ll let you do the math, and I couldn’t even get a Military/Veteran discount of 10 dollars?! I guess the DSW in Buckhead Ga is really hurting for money! I then got another email stating another one of my items have been removed from my order. This order only showed 2 item but was still the same price as the 3 shoes I ordered then I got another email saying that my order was cancelled because all items I had ordered were not in stock. Their customer service is the worst. I spoke with an admittedly new employee, who I don't necessarily fault for being poorly trained, and she not only could not help me, she hung up on me after an hour and never attempted to reconnect with me. I've been on hold twice -- once for 20 minutes and the other for almost an hour before I just hung up. They cannot keep their shipping guarantee/promises nor do they know how to handle any lost items in the shipping process. They leave it up to the customer to rectify the situation rather than take ownership over their mistakes. NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY! Go with a different company as we will and maybe, with lowered stock prices/overall sales, someone with status within the company will make changes to how they treat their customers.

I am in the process of exchanging a pair of shoes. I paid via Paypal, so once they received the pair of shoes back, my Paypal account was refunded. According to their procedures, this is what they do, but the site doesn't indicate what happens if you DO use a Paypal account to pay and what to do in an exchange situation. Since they are not authorized to debit my Paypal account, I have tried to contact customer service to inquire how I need to pay for this new exchange and when to expect my shoes. Multiple calls - on hold forever and no one ever comes to answer the call. As I speak, I have my speaker phone on and it's been 50 minutes. Still... No one answers. On-line chat has NEVER been available. I enjoy their products and stores, but I will NEVER shop online again. This customer service is an absolute joke.

I placed an order on Sunday night using a coupon code that was expiring that day. Received an email at email late that night stating that the order had been cancelled as the item was not available and my credit card would not be charged. The next morning, when I saw the email, I looked online and the item still showed available AND my credit card had been charged. I phoned DSW that afternoon and held for over 40 minutes before reaching a rep. She confirmed that the shoe was available and could place the order for me. When I mentioned that my coupon expired, she did offer a comparable discount. Order placed, should arrive in 5-7 business days, credit card auth should fall off... Now four days later, my order shows in process online and credit card charge for the order they cancelled still has not fallen off.
I phoned DSW again, after holding for 50+ minutes, was told that the order shipped and would be delivered in a week and a half. Rep didn't know why their website didn't reflect the item had shipped and didn't know why the order that DSW cancelled hadn't been refunded. I am not a DSW Shoe Lover anymore. I bought these for a birthday gift and they won't arrive in time, so I will be returning. Quite frequently I see the same shoes they carry for much less at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

When attempting to phone or live chat with DSW the time frame begins in excess of one hour, unacceptable! I wrote to them when an item was not included in my shipment. The response was days later with a too bad sentiment. Customers, or "Shoe Lovers" mean nothing to DSW. This company has the worst continual customer service of any retailer in the USA!

Last week I bought a pair of shoes at the store in Round Rock TX. The original price was 59.99. Today I saw the exact same shoes, even the same color at Marshalls for 29.99. I am very disappointed since it is almost half the price I paid. I tried the DSW chat and it never worked. It is a just a waste of time, I tried to call and was on waiting for 29 minutes before hanging up. I don't believe high prices and nonexistent customer service is a good formula. I tried to immediately use their "Live Chat" several times after placing my order, but every time it would end the session before it even started. I then sent an email to their customer service. But knew that I only had a window of time to cancel the order, so I then called (on hold for almost 30 mins), by the time I got through to a CSR, one item (the one I wanted to cancel) could not be canceled because it was coming from a vendor and they had already placed it in the "Release" status. So now I have to wait until my order is delivered and take it back to the store!!! The CSR said she would add rewards to my account for my "inconvenience" and I told her not to bother because this would be the last time I shopped with them.

The next day I receive an email not available! I look online and my size no longer available. So I call again, and explain and tell her I will take a half size smaller because website showed that available. She then tells me limited amount left so no guarantee. I’m then told if I order them and they don’t fit, I can’t return them without calling them first because they are placing some sort of hold on my credit card! OMG I told them forget it. I've been a customer for years now, and I've never had an issue with DSW. But lately, they've been terrible! I got a really good coupon in the mail the other day, and when I went to go use it in store, there was nothing there that I really liked. So, I figured "maybe their selection in store just sucks." So, I shopped online, and was told I couldn't use my rewards because my account has been suspended. Why?! I emailed them, and got no response. Then I tried live chatting them multiple times, maybe even 20 times at different times of the day, and got no response. They wouldn't connect me to anyone.
Finally, I called them and waited on the phone for 30 minutes. NOT ONE PERSON PICKED UP. So I chose the option they give you, which is to reserve your spot in line and have customer service call you back. Well, they never did. I didn't get any callbacks at all, and I therefore, couldn't use my rewards or make my purchase. When I went to the store to see if I could get it fixed there, they told me my account has been suspended and the only way to get it back was to talk to customer service. So I can't even use this in store! How am I supposed to fix a problem, when no one at customer service wants to pick up, or attend to their customers in any way? Do these people not want my money?

Some rewards this was! If I had placed two separate orders for my shoes instead of one, I'd be getting an additional 20 dollars back for my refund. Also, their "return fee" now includes taxes on it, which is 9.03 instead of the 8.50. Then get put on the usual hold for 6-10 minutes, with music, and the ever few seconds a customer service agent will be with you soon. Then after being on hold for that long, again the robot finally asking if I wanted to be called back, or wait. Then finally, was told wait time was about 40 minutes! I went to physical store location on Wed 11/15, and ordered a pair of shoes at 9:00 pm online that were not available in the store in my size, and an employee at the store ordered them for me. I became a "premier shoe lover" back in Feb of 2016, and I didn't even know what it was until I ordered a bunch of shoes online. Part of the rewards of becoming a premier member is that you are supposed to get overnight shipping if order is in system by 3 pm. Under this assumption, I assumed it would ship on Thurs 11/16, and arrive on Fri 11/17.
AT NO TIME did anyone inform me that this pair of shoes I was ordering fell into the category of "Oops, sorry the shoes you ordered fall into the 5-7 BUSINESS day delivery category - in other words 7-10 days until I receive them." NOT when I ordered them in the store, nor when I did their online chat shortly before 3 pm on Thurs to make sure they were shipping that day and I believe in my online chat I had even tried to confirm it was going to be next day delivery, and the issue was "skirted" now that I think about it, and I had a transcript of our online chat sent to my email. She did give me the FedEx tracking, but it was NOT overnight, and on top of it said the expected delivery date was WED 11/22 when I looked at the FedEx tracking!
I called customer service and explained my dissatisfaction with this, and that no one at any point in time had informed me of the delivery window. Finally, after repeating my dissatisfaction several times, she agreed to give me a $10 certificate. NOW, I go into the tracking for today, and it says expected delivery is not until FRI 11/24 on BLACK FRIDAY... to make matters worse, they used the cheap route, and started delivery with FedEx, but are finishing delivery through USPS. WOW, from next business day delivery to 9 days expected delivery after order? Their explanation was very convoluted as far as this particular pair of shoes I ordered "did not fall into the next business day delivery category?"
HUH? I have never ordered a pair of shoes from them that I did not receive the next business day, let alone take a week and a half to be delivered? C'MON DSW, isn't this one of the main perks of being a PREMIER rewards member that you reneged on? I am absolutely befuddled why the heck if these shoes shipped out on Thurs, why they weren't shipped FedEx from start to finish overnight so that I would receive them on Fri 11/17, and they were shipped through FedEx crappy SmartPost. I personally am usually pretty satisfied with them, but this is something that really irked me. What if it was a pair of shoes I was planning on wearing for Thanksgiving holiday, and now they are coming after Thanksgiving?

I reached out to them in FB and they were quick to respond and make it right! I got my boots yesterday and I love them! Thank you DSW! I gave them 3 stars because it seems they need help on the customer service line and chat boxes but overall I'm very happy.

I placed an order for a pair of boots with 2 day delivery. When I realized that it was after 3pm my time (central) that meant it was after the 4pm deadline for 2 day delivery, so I tried to cancel my order... but couldn’t. It hadn’t even been an hour when I decided to cancel so I thought for sure it would be no problem. I clicked open a chat box which said I had a 30 minute wait... Ok, no problem! After 30 minutes I had 4 chat boxes pop up that showed me I had a 0 minute wait and then a box that said 44 minutes??? After some more boxes came up and quite a while later someone finally came on and said “sorry I can’t help you... No one can but I’ll put in a request to cancel your order.”
A couple days later I receive an email showing that my shipment is delayed along with the product... showing that it costs $52.50... but I paid $129.00. So overpaid for the product and overpaid for shipping. I think DSW is a very dishonest and shady company. DO NOT order online from them unless you’re sure you want the item and that you don’t mind paying more. My item will arrive a week and a half after ordering with 2 day shipment... and I’m still being charged for 2 day. SMH.

I was trying to match the colors of the shoes to a dress, and ordered multiple sizes. The website said that all of the shoes were available for overnight shipping. Long story short, the shoes were not available for overnight shipping, got lost in the mail thanks to FedEx, ended up getting returned to sender.
I have spoken to three different customer service representatives two of which were no help at all. The first time was to inquire about why the shoes had not shipped yet even though they were supposed to be sent overnight. The representative informed me that those shoes were not eligible for overnight shipping. This did not make sense to me because the website advertised them as eligible and I had been charged for overnight shipping. When I asked her to cancel the order, she told me the order cannot be cancelled. Even though I had called the next day, she said it was too late to cancel, but she did reversed the overnight shipping charge.
I missed the delivery attempts, and the shoes ended up getting sent back to DSW. When I spoke to the second customer service representative, he said to call back in seven to ten days and that the company would credit my account for the shoes once FedEx shipped them back. He also said that I would not be liable for the shoes because I never received them.
The third time I called, the customer service rep was extremely rude. She said that it DID appear on the account that the shoes were sent back to shipper, but had not arrived yet. She told me to call back in a couple of days to see if they had received the shoes back. I asked why they would not refund me now considering they know the shoes are on route back to them. She claimed that it is policy to not refund money on lost or stolen packaged for ten business days.
I reluctantly agreed to call back, said goodbye, and waited on the phone for the post call survey. I had muted my phone, and all of a sudden I heard two ladies (the customer rep I talked to and I am guessing another who was listening in) proceed to TRASH TALK ABOUT ME. They went on to talk about how "unreal" I was being. They also mentioned that there was a storm that hit Miami last week, (I assume IRMA) and that I should realize there would be a delay in the process. As a customer who purchased shoes online, I have no idea where my shoes are shipping from, therefore, I am not being "unreal." I have still not gotten a refund, and I plan to contact management of customer service to sort out this situation.
If DSW had not falsely advertised overnight shipping on these four pairs of shoes, this situation would have never happened. I simply would have gone elsewhere. I realize mistakes happen, but as a paying customer, I expect the company to politely manage the situation without insulting the customer, refund my money, and potentially throw a credit or coupon my way. Instead, I am still out the $180.00, have had my character insulted, and have to call DSW yet again to try and get my money back. DSW does not care about their customers, and I can honestly say I will NEVER shop there again.

I received a gift card to DSW. I called the to find out how much was on the card - $50. I went to DSW store a month later, no money on the card. I was given a # to call. I was told my gift card had been used in NY at the 90th & Broadway store. I live in LA, CA. The employee asked if I had the PIN #, I said hold on while I scratch off the cover & I supplied him the PIN #. He told me DSW can't help me but he can give me the phone # to the NY store. I'm supposed to call and find out who used my gift card so I can track them down, other than that too bad for me. So someone was able to make a phony card, PIN was not checked, my gift was used and too bad for me, DSW unwilling to help. They do not consider security of gift cards important and are unwilling to help. Consider that if you are making a gift from this merchant - you will spend good money and if it's stolen - DSW says, "Sucks to be you."

Took X-Rays, I was given medicine, told 6-7-17 I have a Stress Fracture on my left foot, and a Bone Spur on my right toe. I had none of this before I purchased these shoes. I wrote to the CEO who never contacted me, though James did from OH and said it was not the shoes I should contact the makers or possibly it could be workman's comp? It was not job related! I have missed work lots of fuel. I am now pursuing a personal Injury Lawyer. Buyers BEWARE!! This Co. is false and does not care about the customers or what the products do to their Feet. I purchased 5 pairs of shoes online for special occasion. One pair that they had shipped me included 2 different sized shoes. I went into a store and returned 3 pairs. Since they sent me the wrong sized shoes, they said that they would send me the correct order and express ship it. Expressing shipping was supposed to take 4 days. Instead it's been more than 2 weeks and I never received the shoes. When I called DSW a week and a half later they send they couldn't cancel the order because the shoes may be in transit. They said that I had to wait until a May 30 to call back and cancel the order and get a refund.
Meanwhile I've called them 3 times and waited a total of 1 hour. I finally went into a store after May 30th, which was the day they said I could cancel the order. At the store they waited on the phone for 27 minutes. When they finally got a hold of someone at Shoephoria they said it looked as if I never returned the shoes. They also said they aren't sure where my shipment is. It's two and half weeks later and they still have yet to refund me the money and never got the shoes. I needed the shoes for a special event and they didn't get here in time. I will never order from DSW online again. The shoe choices online are way better than in the stores; depending on the store also. Like the Queens Stores don't have the same choices as the one in NYC, Manhattan. I have bought shoes for some time from this Company and up til now satisfied. Recently, and from same brand as previously bought from, the shoes are coming way too big/long; even for my size of only 5.5. Because of this issue I have had to deal with customer service. Wow. Horrendous service this company provides. They are always rushing through information like they just want to be done w/ you, seem agitated to speak with you if you want to ask more questions for info. or clarity and also, are vague in their information.
Note to self & others: be weary and skeptical about those promotions ex. $10 of off $49 or $20 of 99, which was my case today. I was buying 4 pairs of shoes and it came out to a subtotal of $134. Clearly the $20 of off 99 applied here, right? Incorrect my friends. There is apparently a fine print where it only applies to certain brands; therefore I only received $10 off. What a rip off and false advertisement. Someone should really look into this company and what they are really doing and presenting to the public.

April 8 arrived but the shoes did not. I checked the tracking number again and this time it showed that they use FedEx SmartPost and it was in the hands of the US Postal service, with a new tracking number. The new tracking number doesn't work but the DSW page showed that my shoes would be delivered today on April 10.
I went online again and now the date has been changed to April 12. According to the tracking number details, the shoes have been in California since April 7, but they won't be delivered for at least five days? UPS only takes five days to ship things across the entire country! This will be the last pair of shoes I order from them either through their store or online.

I will no longer be a customer of DSW, although I have shopped there for YEARS. I have removed my name from their email and reward member list. The reason is the progressive signs meant to show their attitudes towards everything. Throughout the store they have hung signs with hashtags about hitting on their dentist when sedated, giving someone the middle finger, and other things that my kids asked me about. If you want to have to explain what this all means to your kids and grandkids, go ahead and shop there. But not me, there are plenty of other places to find shoes without listening to teenage, millennial attitudes. They need to study what age women spend the most at their stores.

I've bought many pairs of shoes at DSW and I've also returned a lot of pairs with no hassle at all. Customer service has always bent over backwards to please me and make sure that I'm happy, no matter how messy things manage to get. Including recently. I had bought a few pairs of shoes but needed a 1/2 size larger. No problem returning. One pair was amazing and the other pair started to fall apart after about an hour of wear, mostly sitting. I called and explained what had happened and they said to bring them back. They didn't have the ones I wanted in store so the associate ordered them for me online. The only complaint I have is that, while I was refunded, the money didn't immediately go back into my account, but the new total was taken out. I'm still patiently waiting for it to be returned but that's not the associate's fault.
I've gotten so many coupons and certificates, that they allow you to stack, that I've pretty much gotten free shoes. I'm seeing so many negative comments but so many of them seem so unmerited to me. They have a really great return policy and almost all of their shoes can be returned within 90 days unworn. It's really not their fault if the shoes you picked weren't as comfortable as you thought they were.

At the register, the clerk processed the return but instead of crediting my credit card, she issued me a store credit for the entire amount of $52.95. Rather than make an issue of it, I found a pair of shoes online on 3/3/17 and ordered them using the credit and again, my personal charge card for the difference. These shoes totaled $63.55, so my personal credit card was charged $10.60. I then found the same shoes at Macys for $30 less so I took these shoes back to DSW on 3/10/17 to return them. The clerk at the register told me the full refund would be credited to my charge card. Assuming this to be my personal charge card, I took my receipt and left.
I received an email stating that my store credit would be mailed to me soon. This is no way to do business. If I purchased anything on a personal credit card, the return should be processed exactly the same way unless I don't have receipts, which I do have. Automatically issuing store credits is shady, unethical and low. I would like to have the amount I paid out of pocket ($41.52) returned as it was paid.

Hello, this is my first time ordering from DSW and my experience has been horrible. Last Sunday January 8 I placed an order (or so I thought) using the DSW App. I also used $150 worth of gift cards that was given to me for my birthday. I used the PayPal to pay for my order which came to the amount of $108.87. PayPal took funds from my account the same day. A few days later I noticed that I had not received an email from DSW saying my order was being processed. I called customer service and the agent pulled up my order and read me everything in my shopping cart including my gift cards I used as well as a promotional code that was sent to my email that I used. The Agent told me my order was never placed and that sometimes with using the DSW app versus the desktop it happens. She also told me that PayPal jumps the gun and takes money from the account right away versus waiting until an order is complete.
The agent offered to finish my order over the phone but I would have to pay for the items again and then contact PayPal for a return on my funds. I said, "Okay let's complete my order." When she went to the next page she began to apologize saying one of the items in my cart was now showing zero items available. So I told her I would look for another item and finish my order on the desktop. The next day I found another item I was interested in and added it to my cart. I proceeded to checkout. I changed my shipping from standard to two day business shipping because it was a pair of shoes I ordered I needed them for an event on this coming Saturday Jan 21. I continued on to check out and I noticed my gift cards were not showing on my checkout screen anymore.
I no longer have my actual gift cards anymore because I trashed them after I typed them into my order the week before when I thought my order was complete. I called Customer service again to explain to them what happened. The Agent informed me that there was nothing she could do because I did not have the gift cards anymore. Even after I read to her the last four digits of the gift cards I had on the screen shots. She told me to go ask the people who gave me the gift cards and see if they had an account with DSW so they could use their information and use their rewards to give me credit from them. I've never heard of that before. I asked to speak with supervisor and the supervisor said the same thing and then offered me $10 for the mishap. I asked if a credit of $150 could be given to me since that's how much my gift cards totaled out to be. She said she could not give me back that money because it was too much.
I am very disappointed and hurt. I've lost $150 worth of gift cards that I can't use trying to shop on the online store using DSW app that was faulty and I don't understand why I can not receive a credit for what I've lost besides $10 worth of rewards points when it's not my fault! I refuse to give DSW any of my hard working money after this incident. The sad part is that they got $150 worth of free money! HORRIBLE!

Today when I went to Knollwood Mall it turned out at the cash register that only one of the cards can be accepted. When I told the lady that my information of ten days was on the contrary the answer was that it is according to instructions received this morning. Considered to leave the boots there but I promised them to my daughter so I did not really had options. First of all I think it is not fair to change the rules after releasing those cards. Secondly, if it happens, then the company could warn the customers about it in the daily mails they send about making sure I don't forget to use my gift cards before they expire. I bought a pair of boots on 11/26/2016. I had been looking off & on for some time. I needed a pair with good padding as 95% of boots don't have that. I found a pair but you did not have my size so since I shop DSW very often I knew that they would send them free. That day they were offering a free tote but the store ran out. I was told that a tote would be sent with the boots. When my boots arrived there was not a tote in the box so I called shoephoria. The customer service rep. who answered told me the cashier did not scan my card & that's why I didn't get the tote. Then she told me after I told her the date that I bought the shoes that they ran out that day. I wasn't sure whether to believe her or not. She said “Sorry I'll make sure you get 5% off.” To me she did not seem sincere.
I went back to buy a can of repellant for my boots. I told Leighanne my story. She apologized a few times. She is very customer service oriented. She offered another tote similar to the one offered. She also told me to bring in my receipt & she would take an additional amount off my receipt. I went back a couple of days later as I work a couple of blocks away from your store. She refunded back half my bill. I was very surprised & did not expect that. I very much appreciate the service that turned this bad situation around. I am a customer for LIFE.

Normally I do not give negative online reviews. I ordered $180 worth of shoes from DSW. I filled out the shipping information correctly, however their system read my address wrong (it was "too long" for the address field) so my order was undeliverable and auto shipped back to sender. When I called, the CS rep was not helpful. I then called right back to try my luck with a different CS rep. Slightly better, but still very unsure of how to handle the situation. The pair of shoes I had ordered turned out to be the last available pair. They were being returned to sender and I was to be refunded for the shoes once they received them. If I wanted those shoes (which I did), I would have to quote, "check to see once they were restocked online and order them again." Remember this is the last pair available, so I also would have to compete with potential other buyers to get them! This seems like a very very terrible policy.
Why couldn't they simply receive them, update the address and resend them? That would make too much sense. In DSW's defense, they offered to send my other pair with a $10 discount on next day shipping. However, by this point I was pretty upset and decided to buy shoes elsewhere. DSW, business starts with Customer Service. The CS reps I spoke with were borderline clueless. Even the floor manager I spoke with, not helpful, slightly rude and not understanding (Tina). Your policy is terrible and needs to be more customer centered. ESPECIALLY when I am not at fault. The root of this starts with the address, which was entered correctly (I can show my original order confirmation). Somehow your system passed the address incorrectly to FedEx. Disgruntled (no longer) customer.

I haven't had much luck in buying online so EVERY time I return my purchase, I personally pay the return shipping myself yet DSW continually deducts $8.50 from my return instead of taking the time to see I did NOT use their return shipping label. Happens EVERY time. I have to call for the credit as I'm not paying 2x in shipping returns. Getting the credit has never been a problem but I shouldn't have to continually call about this recurring issue. I'm done w/ DSW!

I do order a substantial amount online from this company because they never seem to have the sizes in stock at the store. This time I realized after I hit "submit" for my latest order that I ordered the wrong size. Within minutes I was on the phone to try and correct this. I was previously told that an order can be cancelled within the first hour. After 20 minutes waiting for someone to answer, I hung up and sent an email. Several hours later, I received an email response. I was also able to reach someone on the phone. Both of their responses said that "the order is too far along the process" to do anything. They can try and put a cancel on the order, but there is no guarantee this will happen. I feel taken advantage of, and will be looking to take my business elsewhere.

Was placing my order for my daughter's items for the first day of school. Decided to do in store pick up since they had been advertising quite a bit. Little did I know that they treat those orders as if you placed them on hold. They will send you emails to say, "Pick up ready with the date in which you need to pick it up by and the next things you know in a day or two" - send you a, "Oops we no longer have your item!" I have never experienced anything like this! I purchased the items online assuming they were mine, never thinking if I don't get there as soon as they send me that email they will sell my order off. I highly recommend to everyone to NEVER use this as you will not get your things. Now my HS daughter will not have your shoes and other items to start the first day of school off right. DSW, I have no idea what you were thinking but this is not how you keep a customer!

I purchased a pair of Bjorndal clogs during a previous season. That particular brand of clog is one that until now I had always considered to be top quality merchandise, because of their durability. Some other Bjorndal shoes that I own I have had for YEARS and they still have good tread on the soles and fine leather uppers.
However, for whatever reason, the clogs that I called DSW about are defective. The clog is designed with a one-piece molded sole that has narrow fissures across the bottom for non-slip traction. With the equivalent of just a few months wear, the soles split all the way down through one of the fissures to the depth of the arch of the shoe itself! Given the good experiences I have had in the past with Bjorndal brand shoes, I tried to locate contact information for the company to report the issue. I no longer have the original shoebox they came in, so I called DSW customer service ONLY TO FIND INFORMATION ON THE MANUFACTURER.
I knew full well when I called that I have had those shoes longer than for the term of DSW's return policy (2 months) and WAS NOT in any manner, way, shape or form looking for a refund or adjustment from DSW. I called asking for help to locate the manufacturer. The customer service representative was cordial in taking the information found on the shoe itself to try to locate manufacturer information. She was unable to find any manufacturer information when looking by brand or style number. She informed me that since it was past 2 months, there was no way that she could find any information on the manufacturer! Say what??? She said that I could bring the shoes back to the store, but unless they still had the same exact shoe still for sale (highly unlikely), that they probably couldn't help either.
Huh??? They still sell product by this manufacturer and they can't locate contact information for them? I mentioned to the customer service rep that most people keep their shoes for longer than 2 months, so how do you handle a problem when it occurs after that time? I really take no issue with the fact that DSW and companies like them set limits on returns. What I take issue with is the fact that it sounds like they just don't give a rat's carcass about whether they are selling trash merchandise or not.
My impression of the merchandise offered at DSW has been that it is generally the same good merchandise available at other major retailers, except that it can include overstock. I did not think that maybe they would be selling inferior stock, like manufacturers' seconds or irregulars. But perhaps they are? Based on the conversation I had today with their customer service rep, it doesn't seem like they are much interested in upholding the integrity of their brand or the merchandise they sell. I haven't decided whether I want to buy the same brand of clog again. Given prior good experiences, maybe that company deserves a second chance. But, if I do decide to buy that brand again, it would be interesting to buy it a different store to increase the chance that I would not be buying an inferior product.

Shoes were purchased and business sent wrong shoes in the right box. DSW did not accept responsibility for the error, though did accept the return. The service person indicated that DSW receives shoes from outside vendors and does not, at any level, verify that the shoes sent match the box. They were unwilling to obtain the shoes purchased, stating the shoe was out of stock. Links were sent to the company for which the shoes were available and DSW refused to pursue these options. They were poorly responsive to emails and did not accommodate a request to talk with a more senior customer service representative or manager.
To make matters worse, the day after I received confirmation that the shoe return was received and being processed, DSW re-posted the shoe to their website. Though someone else ordered and I was unable to confirm the size, it is curious to see this and raises concern that the identical error was made and the wrong shoe was restocked (as that shoe was not in stock at any point during the prior week).

The reason for this review is due to customer service. I have ordered with them over the past three years and have always given away the shoes or boots after I buy them. The website needs to be updated to specifically note their policies. I have spoken to rude Customer Service Reps who when I asked for a supervisor, they put me on hold for an extended period and then, they offer you rewards and this affects the shipping costs. If you get free shipping, and then try to use your rewards, the shipping charges apply. Then the "processing" and "shipping" window dates are a joke.
One thing is posted on the website, and then another thing is explained when you call. I guess it depends on which shift is working in the Customer Service Unit... but after three years... I have had it. I was doing Live Chat on the computer at the same time I was on the phone with Customer Service and really thought this was the show "Punk'd". The "new" pair arrived and it was very apparent that they had been worn and returned. Soles were dirty on both along with dark spots (these were Taupe color). Returned them to the local store and local store agreed they looked used. While there they ordered another pair which arrived in two days which was suspicious since the other two pairs took 7-10 days to arrive. The pair that arrived in two days were the same exact pair that we returned to the local store.
Contacted DSW customer service, informed them of the situation. They agreed to send a "hand picked" pair and once we received them and were satisfied we could take the used pair back to the store. Two days later order was cancelled, "no longer available." Called DSW customer service again, they searched and said they have 36 pairs available. Once again promised we will receive new pair sent to our house. Once again two days later order is cancelled "no longer available." Over two months ago, my wife and I entered the DSW store in Tyler, Texas. There was a faulty lock corner plate on the front entry door, and my wife's thumb was caught by a corner. The door was being opened, and, with her thumb caught, she was thrown backward and landed on the back of her head on the concrete outside the store. The skin on her thumb was also torn off. We went inside the store, and employees provided initial first aid. My wife was then taken to a local emergency medical facility, where she received attention for her head and hand injuries. A claim form, as provided by DSW, was filled out. Although a claim form was filled out, in the two months since the incident, DSW has not once contacted us to determine my wife's condition or to make any attempts to settle the claim. They have demonstrated an extreme disregard for the well-being of their customers.
UPDATED ON 01/22/2016: A short time later, we received a telephone call from a representative of CorVel In Baltimore, Maryland. He said that he would be handling our claim. His manner was condescending. We explained to him the events as described above. He stated that he had not yet seen the surveillance video of the incident. He was not present at the time of the incident. Baltimore is about 1400 miles away from Tyler, Texas, where the event occurred. Nonetheless, he stated that "you probably just slipped and fell." In other words, he took the position that we lied about how the injuries occurred.
After we spoke with the CorVel person, and provided medical release forms, we expected that we would be contacted by either CorVel or DSW within a reasonable time. That was not the case. Two months passed, and we had no further contact from either company. We can only assume that DSW and its claim partner, CorVel, simply let our claim sit idle because, after all, we were only two older people who would probably forget about the incident.
I finally had a telephone call from DSW, after waiting two months. I had written to various people at DSW, and that apparently prompted the call. The DSW manager told me to talk to CorVel. I told him that, because of the fact that CorVel had called us liars about the manner in which the accident occurred, we needed a DVD of the surveillance video to prove our description of the events surrounding the accident. To date, we have not received that DVD. DSW has not, at any time, inquired as to the health and recovery of my wife. They don't care. Neither DSW nor CorVel is a member of the Better Business Bureau. To learn more about DSW, google "EEOC DSW". For more on DSW's claim partner, google "CorVel Maze of Pain", and a video is found at "CorVel Red Tape".

I always had good experiences with DSW. Within the last two years, I purchased at least 8 pairs of shoes from them online and never had a problem. But when I do have one problem... it's the worst problem I could think of. I ordered a pair of black heels two weeks early since I need them for a party. I did not get free shipping, I paid for shipping. The heels arrived by the Thursday of the first week and I was excited as it only took them two days. Unfortunately, these people don't even check the shoes twice before shipping. The box and everything else says 6M, but the heels themselves were 7. I was really aggravated at that point.
I called a store closest to me and was told the heels were not here. I attempted to call another close store in Manhattan, and the call kept repeating the menu in a loop no matter what button I pressed. I finally decided to call CSR on DSW website and the wait was too long; I hung up. Finally, after 40 minutes in one call, I finally got to speak to someone who told me I have two options, do an exchange online, in-store, or return to a store. The location she suggested to exchange didn't have the shoes available after I wasted my time going there. I decided to just return it to the store since I don't want to deal with their online exchange as I was told it's a nightmare.
Of course, even with their mistake, a return to the store means you lose the shipping cost. They did not refund me the money for the mistake they made. On top of that, ordering a brand new pair from their website cost me shipping again, which means I am paying extra for something I shouldn't even have to. Great shoes and options, but poor customer service. It is now week two, and the replacement heels still haven't shipped. I'm never ordering from their website ever again... I rather go to the store now.

I put in the initial order for my Sorel Tivoli High II Snow Boots (item 306582) on 10/29/2015, over a month ago. I have yet to receive these shoes. The initial order email said that the shoes would ship between 4-7 business days, and that I would receive a email once shipped. After two weeks not having received an email, I called the customer service line and the automated service line confirmed that the order would ship in a matter of days. A week later, I called the customer service line again on 11/23 and the automated service said that my order was scheduled to ship on 11/21, a date which had already passed. I asked to speak with a customer service representative and was connected with Donna.
Donna was an excellent customer service representative, she was polite and friendly and offered to help with this issue from start to finish. Donna determined that for some unknown reason, because I had purchased the shoes using two gift cards, the order was in a "pending" status and had never officially processed. She said that she would need to speak with someone in their back office, which was closed at the time I had called, and give me a callback the following day on 11/24. Donna called me back 5 times the next day and left 2 messages while I was at work. I tried reconnecting with her during my lunch break but she was not available. The customer service representative I spoke to said that Donna did not leave detailed notes on my account but would ask her too once she finished the call she was currently on.
My second voicemail from Donna stated that my initial order needed to be cancelled, and then reprocessed, and that she would re-credit my gift cards so that I could rerun the transaction, or call and provide permission to do so. She also said that she would go ahead and overnight the shoes to me. I called the customer service line back on 11/24 and spoke with a different representative, Danielle.
Danielle looked into the transaction and came to the same conclusion as Donna - it needed to be reprocessed. She checked the notes on the account and saw that Donna has recredited my gift cards. However, this was only partially true. Donna did recredit 1 out of my 2 gift cards in full, however the second one's balance had been zeroed out, and had not been recredited whatsoever. After another long hold time, Danielle was able to recredit that gift card as well - and eventually did reprocess the transaction as initially requested. I was never offered any sort of explanation as far as what occurred or caused the issue. Danielle assured me that the shoes would be overnighted, and that I would see the shoes by Friday since Thursday was a holiday and delivery would not be available.
It is Monday, November 30th, and I have now waited over a month for these snow boots! It has since snowed twice in Denver, Colorado - which is the reason I bought the snow boots in the first place! Having worked in customer service for years, and retail as well, I tend to have a greater appreciation of patience for situations in which delays occur, etc. However, I can't believe that I paid close to $150 for snow boots that I have yet to see a full 32 days later.

The boots I bought are HORRIBLE the material is peeling off, the straps are breaking and hadn't even had them for a month! The quality of the boot is just pitiful! I mean the boots are literally falling apart!
I have contacted customer service via email and phone a few times and they were completely and utterly RUDE! All they wanted to do is give me a gift card for crying out loud! They offered to do an exchange but wanted me to bring the boots in for inspection after I told them I live over 50 miles away! I work seven days a week, I don't have time to drive all the way there nor do I have the money to just buy another pair and wait for a refund of the others. I emailed them and asked if they'd be able to let me order another pair and then I will return these ones after I received the new ones and of course I never got a reply!
I have never dealt with a company so careless of their customers! If something isn't done about this I am seriously thinking about not doing here anymore and will advise my family and friends of the situation and refer them elsewhere as well.

DSW claims that it was another customer who created their account using MY address. Before they throw the customer under the bus, they should review their website and customer management systems. DSW has gone so far downhill, recovery may not be possible. Their customer service is atrocious. Agents can't even be bothered to speak clearly or in complete sentences. In store service isn't much better, unfortunately. When I called because my boots had no insoles (apparently removed before shipping), the agent was slurring her words so badly I couldn't make out what she was saying. I asked her to repeat her name, but she continued to slur. I asked her again and she sarcastically enunciated each syllable. Perhaps she was drunk. Long story short, they indicated they would send FedEx to my house to pick up the boots, but I'd need to be home all day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
When I protested the unreasonable window for pick-up, they said to leave the boots on my porch if I left home. How completely ridiculous and unsafe. I would return the boots to a store, but an injury prevents me from the long walk through the mall and parking lot. It certainly seems by their actions that DSW is discriminating against a person with a disability, or at minimum, making a return as difficult as possible for a person with a disability! I will NEVER purchase anything from DSW again. It is the worst retail establishment bar none.

I ordered a pair of shoes on the DSW Website, and the old billing information was still in the system. I had since changed my billing information, yet DSW still authorized my card with the wrong address, zip, everything. Their system is obviously not secure or this wouldn't have occurred. Also, I had accidentally pushed the order through to ship to the old address, and after calling them they told me they'd "try to change it" but if it couldn't be changed before they shipped it, they would give me a phone call. I NEVER received a call and the item was shipped to the old address.
I then called them back again (waited 20 minutes for them to answer) and was given an apology for the card transaction working although the billing address was incorrect. I asked them about why this would happen and they deflected the question by telling me that is a question for the billing department and that they are not the billing department. I ended up having to call the old apartments that the shoes were shipped to in order for them to intercept the package from the apartment that it was to be shipped to --- I am hoping the person is honest and doesn't keep my package or I am going to be even more pissed. After all the drama, DSW said they'd take $10 off my order and give me free 2 day shipping (which is what I had in the first place, so really didn't make a difference). I really hope I get my shoes.

On Sunday 10/19/14 I shopped at DSW Waters Creek store in Allen, TX. I have shopped with DSW for years and never had a problem but on Sunday I was very upset. I have been told for years to keep my expired coupons because your store would always take them. So I would keep my coupons until I was ready to go shoe shopping and never had a problem. I have never received a notice or been told of any policy change to that rule.
When I went to purchase on Sunday I had about $300 dollars of merchandise and coupons that totaled up to $110. I was told at the counter that there had been a policy change and they would not accept any coupons and then they asked if I wanted the worthless coupons back. They did not say or try to help me further in any way. I have worked in customer service for years as an Account Manager and I would not have treated my customer like that. I have asked DSW to make the situation right and have not heard back to date, 10/23/14.

I felt humiliated in the way she was speaking. Never have I been refused this question nor talked to that way in other stores. My family shares one account. Needless to say I left everything I was going to buy and exited the store. Never again will I visit that DSW and neither will my friends.

Bought two items online from DSW. 3 business days later, I discovered when I checked my bank account online that DSW had deducted pretty much double the amount of my order - they took out the amount of the actual order, and then another, separate amount. I contacted them and the representative said that they take out the amount of the order, and then they also charge you separate amounts for each item, and those amounts drop off as the items ship. So basically they were taking not only the entire amount of the order, but also separate amounts for each item. Could take a week after the items are delivered to me before they gave me back all of that extra money - MY money. And of course it was too late to cancel at that point when I called them - now I have to send the items back on my dime, because there is no way I want them to have it.

Very poor customer service. My issue started more than a month ago. I ordered pair of shoes online, was really happy that they delivered within 2 days. But when I opened a box, my horror began - completely wrong pair of shoes. I did file for an exchange. In 1 month I did NOT get any answers (NOT even an e-mail). When I finally contacted them it took me forever to get a response. They did give me a $15 off via e-mail and send back my money back. Although I REQUESTED an EXCHANGE. After a bad experience of shopping online I decided to go to the store and another hassle began. First store didn't had my shoes and sales rep. wouldn't even listen me. Had to beg him to call corp. to give me my $15. I am done w/ DSW online or store!!

It's amazing how much DSW does not think of its customers. Bought a purse online. Noticed that the color described was different than product photo. Went to cancel online, but was unable to. Called but it was after business hours. Sent an email right away saying I want to cancel shipment. 7 hours later received an email saying item was shipped. Called customer service. All I heard was that they couldn't do anything. I could always return it. Yes, that's a great option. Except that I am overseas. Cost of return would be more than what the purse's price. Well... nothing could be done.
As soon as I was done on the phone. I received a reply to my request to cancellation email. This is what it said (please remember that I was on the phone for 40 minutes talking to them): Thanks for contacting DSW shoephoria and for being a Rewards member with us. It looks like you have already spoken to one of our Shoe Lovers on the phone earlier today. We apologize that your order was unable to be cancelled. If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know.
You didn't do anything for me in first place. Great sense of humor. Wait... it took you 2 minutes to write this email after you said no to me on the phone. Yet, you couldn't cancel the order within 7 hours????

Grrrrrr. No star would be too many for these thieves. This is the LAST time I ever try to do business with these hostage taking thieves. ALL my mail order stuff and I do mean ALL of it is sent to my post office box. Always has been, always will be. If a company refuses to do business with the United States Post Office, I will not order from them. PERIOD. A few weeks ago, I ordered a pair of shoes to be sent to my P.O. Box. These idiots sent it FED EX ground - another company with poor ethics - to the Post Office. FEDEX then called and tried to order me to give them a street address. Not with that attitude. I refused.
After several days, I checked the website to see if they had refunded my money - they had not. I called. I ended up talking to a really snarky jerk who said my refund would take another week as they only got the order back three days ago?!?!? I waited a few days and confirmed the refund. I called and spoke to another person there. They said some "alternate shipping locations" cannot ship to P.O. Boxes and apologized. So... I gave them another chance. I ordered another pair of shoes. In the comment section I wrote a note stating the obvious -- this order is going to a POST OFFICE BOX, Please make sure it is shipped appropriately for delivery to a POST OFFICE BOX address.
To make sure they got it, I called the next day. Spoke to customer Service. The fellow told me he added a Customer service Note to the order instructing them to make sure the items were shipped properly for a POST OFFICE BOX. Guess what? Uh - huh, they sent the shoes out to the post office via FEDEX Ground. GRRRRRRRRRR. I called, had to talk to a SUPERVISOR, Brittany (she wasn't as smart as Spears) and she finally agreed to a refund. I hate hostage taking corporations and I refuse to do business with crooks. Boo Hiss DSW.

I ordered an Anne Klein leather pump. The item page says "embossed leather upper". When I got the shoes in the mail, the box was beat up because they sent it in a plastic bag rather than their typical shipping boxes. Oh well - it's just the box, right? I opened the shoebox and the tissue paper was ripped apart. I figured, ok maybe they sent these shoes to another customer who returned them. Whatever. Then the shoes... they looked a little off. The bottom and inside logo for Anne Klein was different than the pictures on the website, but the shoe itself looked very, very similar. The stitching along the heel wasn't straight but I thought maybe Anne Klein isn't as quality as I thought? But then I checked the inside stamp where it's supposed to say what materials the shoe is made of. To my disbelief it said "MAN MADE UPPER". No. NO WAY.
DSW had sent me a knock off Anne Klein shoe that was made of fake, synthetic materials instead of the genuine leather pump I ordered! I've been a DSW customer for YEARS and now I'm questioning whether any other shoe I got from them wasn't exactly what I ordered. I called customer service and they were very nice but did not believe I got the wrong shoe. They insisted that I had received the right one since the "item number" I was giving them was correct. Shocking. They offered me an exchange and a "hand pack", which means they'll have someone actually look at the new shoes as they package them for shipping (sooo .... that means no one is doing quality control the FIRST time around???). Anyway, I took the offer and sent the fake shoes back to DSW and am still waiting for them to send the genuine leather shoe.
I can't say whether this was an honest mistake or if DSW is really trying to cheat their customers somehow. I've read many other reviews by DSW employees and most of them say that the people in management are horrible. These reviews weren't isolated to just one location - they came from all over the US. I'm hoping the new shoes they send me are actually the shoes I ordered but even so I can't trust DSW to send me quality shoes anymore. I don't want to go through the month long process of receiving the shoe, returning the shoe, and getting shipping another one. I'd rather pay full retail price than risk going through the problem again. My advice to any DSW customer - Make sure your shoes are what is advertised. Check your shoes thoroughly! You might have gotten a synthetic shoe when you had ordered a genuine one. I wonder how many other women who have ordered this shoe online actually got the real deal.

On Tuesday 1/21 I had the pleasure of visiting the 34th Street store. I normally don't go into big shoe stores because I find that I have a very hard time getting help. Either way I decided to check out DSW. I walked around the store for a while and I got greeted by a few associates which made me feel good because it changed my view about large shoe stores. After walking around for a little I went upstairs to look for boots. I had the pleasure to meet with a young lady who greeted me with a smile and offered me assistance. I told her the type of boots I wanted, not only was she able to show me exactly what I wanted, but she actually told me to have a seat and brought all the shoes and the sizes over so that I could try it. As a visitor from out of state and one that was a bit cautious of large shoe stores she did a great job in changing my perception. I felt like I was in a luxury store which is more than I could ask for. I will definitely be back at DSW on my next trip.

Never, ever again will I place an online order with DSW. I cannot believe they are still in business. I placed a large order of 3 pairs of boots and a pocketbook order totaling over $200.00. The shipment was sent timely but when I opened up the box, the first item I pulled out was a pair of the ugliest shoes I had every seen quite literally in my life that I never ordered. The rest of my order was there. I ordered two pairs of boots, one in black and one in brown because I loved them. The black pair said there were only 3 left in stock so I rushed to put that order in. I never received the black boots but instead I received a pair of shoes I never ordered.
I called the Customer Service Number that is written all over the billing statement and there is virtually no one there. How that can be in this day and age? I am beside myself. There is an email address Service@DSW.com which I emailed, asking them to contact me to take the steps to rectify and there has been no reply. My concern is that these shoes cost less than the boots and they are going to give me the runaround with any refund. I am prepared to dispute this with the assistance of the credit card company I used. I am one frustrated customer and beyond dissatisfied. Mistakes happen right? So, they sent the wrong shoe that I did not order and I did not receive the boots I ordered. However, to not have a customer service operation escapes me. I intend on complaining to the fullest extent and coming to a resolution with the credit company I used to place the order. I will NEVER AGAIN order from DSW. I don't even think I will ever shop in one of their stores after this terrible experience.

It has dirty soles and it seems like someone wore it outside. Anyways I called their customer service and explain the situation and she was very friendly and she said someone will get back to you in few days. So finally I got the response back and I am very much disappointed because their response was: "We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. Unfortunately, we were unable to place your hand-inspected order in reference to order **as requested. Item #267234 (G by GUESS Lanzy Sandal) is sold out in 8.0M/gold. I mean if it is hand-inspected, then how come you were not able to see the dirty sole and a broken buckle. Either you were not paying attention at your work, or you really want to get rid of the used pair to someone like me. I am a regular DSW customer and unfortunately I completely lost the trust and I am not gonna order anything from DSW. She said they would not do an adjustment because it's company policy. I also found a pair of shoes that I was looking for online on their website in the Westbury store with a different price.
