I was very sick, couldn't even work for couple of days because of bad diarrhea. I found I ate one of cup with lots of white balls while I was watching movie and I have other cup with lots of white plastic looking balls not even opened. I called Costco first and they said manufacture people will call me. And I got a phone call day after. They ask "So, you are not sick anymore?" It was ok question... Also she want me to send it to them to find it out what it is. But I was smart enough ask my lawyer what should I do since they don't respond my email after all. I bet they will never concern my or your health after all. Now I'm going to let LAB find out what and how much it's in it made me sick for awhile. I hope people aware of this specially, it's known for good health. I'm sure many parent like me recommend this to kids as well. Kirkland - 'Grape Fruit' not recommend!

I recently was forcefully transitioned to using the Citibank Costco card. A day before the transition, I went in and paid my balance in full to avoid any charges/late payment fees and 29% interest charges. Then in my first payment cycle with Citi, I was presented a $7000 bill, with no statements to support it. When I called, I was "assured" that there was no way to get statements without a 7-14 day wait but I need not worry about paying it until I have statements as there would be no interest or late charges until I was assured of the transactions. Now I see a $80 interest charge and on inquiring, I was told that there was "no way" around interest charges I have incurred, as I did not pay on time. I "still" haven't received the transaction statements, but was forced to pay to the full amount including charges or else they would go after my credit and make my life miserable is what I was told. Really, this is Costco + Citi = Rape the customer!

I have been a regular Costco customer for years now and have been a platinum business customer few years ago and I was appalled by the treatment at the checkout by the cashier ** on Sunday July 17 between 12:30pm - 1:00pm at the store: 1570 Dundas ST E, Mississauga, ON L4X 1L4. When asked for my membership card I provided my card to her and when trying to pay she asked me if this is my picture on the back of the card so I said yes and she sarcastically replied "All you people look alike and shouldn't come to Costco since it's not halal." I couldn't believe what I heard. Another customer in line who heard it had a blank stare on his face as well. Tried to speak with the manager who was on duty (cannot recall her name) refused to listen to me or even give me a chance to speak. As soon as the manager came over, ** made up some bogus story and told the manager and the manager left with my account info and said ok.
I was in a rush and did not have time to speak to a higher manager who oversees the operation so decided to write to Costco. This prejudiced and racial treatment by a person employed at Costco speaks a great deal about the culture of the company and the store where employees are free to degrade customers in public. I have a witness present when it occurred and I will be taking this matter to BBB and Consumer Affairs and get some religious organizations like CAIR involved in this matter. I will make sure more public awareness is created and hopefully someone at the store made a recording. If that point comes, I will make sure it's distributed across the internet so employees such as ** can be exposed for their racist views and treatment of customers and Costco's role in hiring and retaining these disgusting employees.

I placed an order for a TV on 7/6 and received an email from CEVA that it would be delivered on 7/14. On 7/13, I received a call from CEVA that it was delayed and would be delivered between 4pm and 8pm on 7/15. I went home early to receive the delivery and it never came. CEVA did not contact me to let me know that it wasn't coming. I contacted CEVA on 7/16 and was told that the earliest that they could deliver now is 7/20. This is terrible customer service and COSTCO should not use a company that acts in this manner.

We have been COSTCO members over a decade in NC. In that time, we never had one problem with American Express and the company was on top of fraudulent purchases alerts. With COSTCO's new agreement with CITI, the headaches have begun. We were supposed to get our new statement Monday. It's now Saturday. In 15 or more years, we have had to pay interest on one account for one month on a Mastercard with CITI bank. The fault was with CITI bank due to their inefficiency with their accounts posting system, and due to a language barrier (India?) We just paid the interest and put the card in the shredder. One Amex and one Visa. That's all we needed until COSTCO changed that. We do all banking on-line and get all monthly statements electronically. CITI bank is yet to start billing electronically for COSTCO purchases - at least for us.
Now, we can't even get a statement and CITI bank charges loan-shark interest rates (27%) for late payments, which are dependent on the US Postal Service and whomever opens the mail and whomever posts at CITI bank -probably in India. If CITI bank does not get their stuff together PDQ, we will either drop COSTCO and go back to Sam's Club or start using our regular bank Visa card instead of the CITI bank card and get the generic COSTCO membership card ID. And option: return to Sam's Club and there's always Amazon for which Prime is paying off for us. I like the helpful people at COSTCO, but we did not marry the company or people. I, for one, can live without COSTCO. If more customers go toe-to-toe with local managers and write the corp in Washington state, the company might get the hint. If nothing else, let customers use whatever cards are accepted by other retailers.

I tried to buy a laptop from Costco website. Put the order and after a day they cancelled the order and claimed that they could not verify my address. After spending an hour talking to customer service they said they could not verify the billing address with my bank. Called my bank. They told me they have authorized the transaction!!! Anyway I tried again with another credit card. Same story. This time Costco said they canceled the order as they could not confirm shipping address. The irony part is that the shipping address was the same as billing address and also my membership address!!! Called them again. They told me they put a note on the order to make sure that the addresses are confirmed. Put the order again and guess what - cancelled again with the same story. I will not even bother to call them again. They have horrible online system. Never try buy anything online from Costco again.

TAX SCAM - Charging you more sales taxes than should. I was attempting to purchase a sale item - prices at 1,299 (discounted 400). I noticed that Costco Charges a tax on the prediscounted amount. Alabama tax code with dept of revenue does states that manufacturer coupons the amount of tax will be the prediscounted amount supposedly different from called "in store" coupon where tax is on the discounted amount. Yet nowhere on the advertisement is anything about manufacturer discount.
Having speaking to Alabama Dept of Revenue, waste of time, not worth their effort to audit costco about this. If sales shows $1699 - 400 off and your cost is 1299, then you should pay tax on 1299 instead paying tax on 1699. Huge scam. Beware of COSTCO. I bet the additional sales tax is never seen by the state of alabama. Just another way consumer getting screwed over by big company. I emailed that Costco Tax department several times and they could not show any justification for this SCAM. Other than it is a manufacturer coupon. Which should only apply if the consumer take the rebate, therefore sales price will be the pre discounted amount.

We still can't use our Citi credit cards even though they were issued to us a while back, except of course when it came to taking a refund and then it worked fine. Many calls to Citi with a different excuse each time after long wait times on calls as well as being disconnected. On several occasions, that have told us it was fixed and the cards should work, but did not. Now, they say they can't find us in their system even when we give them the number on their card. They now say they need our AMEX card number to locate our account! Seriously?
Costco has been zero help in resolving as well. The latest was when one Costco associate blamed us and said it was our fault since it said in their system that someone cancelled our AMEX card which we didn't. Now, the latest is they are pointing at AMEX. AMEX is saying that a few select accounts were not transferred to Citi and we were one of them. No reason as to why, and if it was cancelled, then why did they give the info to Citi to issue us cards. No answer there either. It has been a total CF with no resolution on the horizon. And remember that refund, no one can find it!

Costco made a huge mistake when they dumped amex and took on Citibank. Here is what happened to me: received card on deadline, went to use it... wrong member number. Ordered new one with Citibank blaming Costco. New card came but noticed it was not a business card like old one and no matching card for my wife. Faced the terrific waits and called again. Denied I ever had business account. Went up to local store and they could not find it and told me never had one. I pulled out my expired card and they magically found account. Local store called CITI and was told new card would be sent out by last Friday. Went across town to office to get cards. No cards. But got two letters from Citibank welcoming my wife and me to the new card. Was addressed properly to my office.
Called Citibank again and waited endlessly, whereupon they told me that they never sent me out business cards. Also asked my business address and they had something different address. They asked if I wanted to change it and I said no I am afraid to as they obviously don't know what they are doing. How and why did I receive two letter at my right address that day? No answer. Finally had them change it to the correct office address where their previous mail had been sent and I had used with Amex for 6 years plus. In one of my many calls I asked about Autopay. They said I could not sign up online, but they would send me forms... which I am still waiting for and afraid I am going to get dinged for late payment. Tried calling their number for 8 hours today and could not get through. Still trying. AWFUL experience. I have always loved Costco but cannot take much more of this.

I've been a member of Costco for a very, very long time. I reside in Blaine, WA and on Tue 28 June 2016, 10:15am, I had my annual eye exam scheduled. Due to the long distance I live from Bellingham, I had to depart home, early to arrive on time. The approach to Costco was blocked off and I was required to turn around and find another way to get there. In doing so I was late for my appointment, by 5 minutes or so. The women in the office informed me of my tardiness and told me to reschedule, that I couldn't see the doctor and she did not have any patients at this time. I was also told of a eye doctor in Walmart, across the street. I did my shopping and returned home, very unhappy and scheduled an eye exam with Walmart.

Very bad shopping experience at Costco wholesale, Frisco, TX. This is regarding a complaint about a person named ARTHUR who stand at entry in Costco. After I have finished my purchase, I had billed for the list of things I bought and came out of exit. Then I remembered the photo that I was planned to pickup at the place right next to entry way. Without giving any explanation, a guy named ARTHUR pulled the cart and placed in a corner in a rude manner and then he said "leave the cart here". I didn't understand the reason why someone would do that to me. Also why should I leave the cart to someone in Costco for the things that I have already paid for.

We've been Costco customers for over 10 years, today is being the first time I feel disappointed. We have 3 stores within 25 miles. Usually, I go to the Vacaville, CA store when I am visiting my Doctor nearby. I've noticed that prices in that store are slightly cheaper than the Fairfield store, which is 15 miles away, but it has never be a cause for concern. Today, I found a cedar raised bed for a herb garden. I took a picture of the item and text it to my husband. It was $99.97, and I thought it was a great price. It is a heavy item so I looked for someone to help me to carry the item to no avail. I was getting tired, and I told my husband for him to go to the Fairfield, CA store, which is closer to us. To our surprise the same item cost him $179.99. That is an $80.00 difference between two stores that are only 15 miles away!
He went back to the store and showed the picture of the item at the other store to claim the price difference; however, the Management at the Fairfield Store did not want to honor the same price though probably could only take a call to verify with the other store customer service. My husband questioned the Customer service, and the explained that stores don't have the same prices because they might buy the items at different time, and one store may want to get rid of an item faster than other, or may have had that item for longer period of time. Needless to say, he made someone from customer service get the item from the car and returned it.
He then drove 15 more miles to the Vacaville store to buy the item there. After the explanation of the $.97 vs $.99, we took notice on few other discrepancies on prices between the two stores. A new item, smartyard solar LED large pathway lights, had a $10.00 rebate on both stores but the Vacaville store had the item at $39.99 and the Fairfield store at $29.99 after the rebate. In another solar light item both stores had the same item with different rebate amount. The Fairfield had a $10.00 rebate; while the same item had only $6.00 rebate at the Vacaville store. This is the first time I feel ripped-off by Costco. I didn't know that I had to watch for price differences between Costco stores.

Last December 2015 there was a small COSTCO KIOSK inside the mall. I signed up for a Costco Gold Star membership at DEL AMO mall in Los Angeles, California. A girl name Tanya facilitated the application and collected 55USD as the membership fee, then on advised me to redeem the card at any Costco warehouse a day after. The kiosk looked legit as there were several people who applied and was assisted that day. Six months later - I decided to redeem my card at COSTCO BROOKLYN, NY. With me is my receipt which the girl told me to present in case I want to get my card at any Costco store. I lined up for at least an hour at their customer service aisle only to be told that my name is not popping up from the system. So many questionings happened.
Finally a girl named “Jansell” helped me by calling COSTCO WAREHOUSE 476 in LAX. A manager named “JOHN” was not very helpful at all. He gave so many unreasonable explanation that does not make sense at all. First he said the girl that we are referring to has long been gone from Costco employment for a year. That he cannot locate my info as well. He did confirm that they have set up a kiosk at DEL AMO mall but would not say if all the application went through?!?? That is bullcrap of a reason! He then said he cannot help us further because he is very busy that day and advised “Jansell” from Brooklyn customer service to leave my number to him and promised he will call - which he never did. I am very unhappy to find out that my new CitiBank Visa Credit Card carries the RFID symbol. What does this mean? It's an indicator that this card is capable of transmitting your card's data 24/7. All it takes is some creep, with the right equipment, to copy your card's data and cause you credit problems for years to come. I'm not fond of anything that is actively transmitting my info and I think it's unfair that I must buy or provide a protective sleeve or "special" wallet to prevent the capture of my data. Out of my many credit cards, this is the only one I have that has this "feature" which I don't want. Since this is the only method of payment by credit card that Costco accepts, I feel that Costco should offer other avenues of credit card payment.

I would like to bring attention to an encounter I was faced with while at the Bayers Lake Costco in Halifax, NS. I was sent a prepaid Costco general membership from a family member. The process of activating the card was unpleasant and very abnormal for Costco, as I usually have nothing but glowing things to say about the business. I have shopped at Costco many times while with family members with no problems. Yesterday, at the customer service desk, I was placed in a very uncomfortable situation. I am from Calgary, AB and that is the address on my license and all identification. While attending school this summer at a local university, I am residing in Halifax for the next two months. I suppose that is where my problem arises.
I was told that I required a Halifax address to setup my Costco account, not a problem (there would not be a spouse/family member on my account), however, as I am subletting from a friend (informal in the eye of the law), I do not have documentation of this Halifax address. The Costco customer service representative was very apprehensive to allow me to register my membership using my Calgary address. A lengthy time later, she agreed to set up the membership with my Calgary address (as I live there the majority of the year), however, she insisted I sign up for the Costco credit card.
I told her three times that I did not want the credit card. My voice was not heard until I put my hand down and told her I REALLY do not need the card. She then proceeded to bend up both the membership form and the credit card form. I was surprised, this is very unlike Costco employees and quite frankly immature and unprofessional. She proceeded to get her supervisor, in which he was very polite and understanding, however, the process was not complete there. To register my membership and proceed, took an additional 15 minutes, having already been waiting near a half hour.
I cannot believe the poor customer service and overall the satisfaction and respect I was greeted with. I am a university student with a very limited income. I do not have a car in the city and was presented with challenge to even get to the location. It is ridiculous how the challenge never stopped. This is an issue I would like reported to prevent other customers from facing this in the future. I would greatly appreciate a response on this matter. Thank you.

Hidden in a large multi-page letter is the fact that the new Citi Visa interest is compounded daily on any charges made. So, if you charge an item, there is no grace period. I think it's no accident that it is buried and they are counting on it not being noticeable. The only way it would be seen is if you only made only one purchase within a billing period. I sent an e-mail to Costco and received a reply that I needed to call the credit card company. Costco dropped Amex who allowed the customer to pay the bill in full by the due date and it is interest free, not so with the new card. I also questioned a particular dog medicine is priced higher than I can buy it online and gave the the sites. They replied that I needed to talk to the local manager of the pharmacy. I kept the mattress as they were going to pick that up when they delivered the new “set”. I did that on March 19th. A few weeks later I contacted the vendor to check on the status and they stated that as of April 4, Costco had not let them know the new order had been place. I contacted Costco and they worked it out.
April 13th I was told by the vendor that the “foundations” were going to be delivered to the delivery service that week and they would deliver to my home. On April 20th they delivered King Foundations. Puzzled, I contacted both Costco and the vendor. Apparently the vendor used the old order and did not see the new one so they just delivered the King foundation thinking I was going to keep the other mattress. I contact both Costco and the Vendor again and was told they were going to expedite the Cal King set and have delivered around the 27th. That never happened. Friday the 29 I got a call from the delivery company stating they would deliver between 11:30-1:30 on April 30th. I got a phone call around 2:45 that the driver was on his way. I told him I was not home because it was past the time. The delivery service was supposed to call me back for a time for delivery today and didn’t let me know until the day of.
I explained my frustrations with both Costco and the Spring Air. Costco did give me a 200 Cash card before the 27th, however with the amount of errors, time frame that this has exceeded and the amount of money I paid for a mattress set I do not feel that 200 is sufficient and was told I can return the product. I spend a lot of money at Costco for my family and I expected more customer service. It was error after error and I am just very disappointed.

This is the second time in about two years that Costco has terrorized me, a totally disabled Marine Corps veteran and my wife and our children with their outright organized crime tactics. This time it is about a homeowner's insurance claim we had to file after we got an email from police while we were on vacation in South America, about an intruder who had broken into our home and died there causing a huge toxic bacteria mess including deadly MRSA flesh-eating bacteria and other contaminations from his body that actually exploded after he laid there dead for several days with the heat turned on high and all windows closed which made the bacteria much worse.
Plus our home became essentially a free department store for all sorts of intruders, vandals, and thieves who stole many thousands of dollars worth of our possessions, and ALL of our remaining possessions were destroyed by vandalism and also the toxic contamination from the man who died there that went through our entire home spreading blood, feces, urine, body tissue apparently from the death process he went through for several days like some sort of zombie invasion nightmare.
The first time Costco pulled the denial game about their responsibility and/or coverage was a couple of years ago when we used their Auto Buying Program to buy a new car from a local car dealer who did bizarre and illegal things while cheating us out of over $3,000 that finally after many months ended by Costco Corporate headquarters apologizing for Costco Corporate leadership's corrupt acts against us that they did in criminal and civil law violating collusion with the car dealership (Ed Wittmeier Honda in Chico, California).
Costco ended up sending us a check for over $3,000 but only after putting my wife and I through absolute hell for months of their outright organized crime tactics that included the dealership literally stealing our trade-in vehicle which Costco was fully aware of was a tactic that that dealership uses. The dealership said we had to buy the car we were only looking at because they had made a mistake and had their "buyer/appraiser" drive our car away and it was already many miles away at some location and they could not get it back -- something like the mafia would pull, just insane!
Now we are month three or four of even worse organized crime and very dangerous acts and situations deliberately put in place by Costco Corporate headquarters including Vice-President John Conlon who should be called Joh 'Conman', a truly pathological criminal lying monster who is in charge of Costco's insurance vendor contracts which is with Ameriprise in this case who may in fact be owned by Costco though they would have that fact hidden in hopes it would help shield them from fraud charges, bad faith and breach of contract lawsuits along with criminal charges that WILL be filed against the very top leadership of Costco Corporation as they most certainly know right up to the President of Costco by now that Vice-President is not only running this scam on us but that he does it on a daily basis, as follows:
First, as soon as we got the shocking email from the county sheriff's office we contacted Costco Ameriprise insurance and spoke with --. I have her name in my notes but I think it was Cheryl, and she in clear bad faith told us we supposedly had 'No coverage', when she knew full well that we certainly did. After fighting that denial for several days with their tag team of con artists at Ameriprise along with the same type of criminal jerks at Costco Corporate headquarters doing the same thing they finally admitted we had coverage, but only after the Asst. Sheriff of the County personally wrote the crime report on the break-in and dead body found in our home.
On that, the county health department, Nancy is her name if we have that right (it is in our notes along with other names there), that she would never go into our home due to the deadly bacteria that most certainly still remains there. To add injury to insult, literally injury to me and my wife and others, these ** have refused to authorize clean up of the bacterial and virus and other deadly pathogens including mold and even deadly black 'kitchen' mold that developed heavily throughout our home from intruders who broke in along with the now dead guy and turned our kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and the rest of our home into a mold infested death trap, not to mention the 'dead body' stink that remains after light cleaning was done by Service Master - as in removing body tissue that was all throughout our home, wet vacuuming of blood, feces, etc., and it really looked like more than one person died there but that remains a mystery.
So, Costco blows us off by John Conlon telling Ameriprise CRIMINAL Brad ** to send us a denial letter that says they will not pay the needed $2,600 to do the "deep cleaning" on "the house that is for sale". Really? **! It is NOT for sale, it is not on the market at all, and Costco Corporate in fact has been repeatedly informed that a realtor, Mike **, has simply offered to try to intervene on our behalf with Costco and Ameriprise to get our home restored so we can either re-enter it someday safely or possibly sell it.
And at this point, since the house has been 'totalled' by the delay and denials, and the fact that I have become deadly ill following the most recent denial letter that they won't pay to get the deep cleaning that Service Master's experts say had to be done to salvage our home, well, I had no choice but to enter our home myself to retrieve sensitive documents like credit cards and other account information that identity thieves have already start to attack because Costco had been so pathetic from the first phone call I made to them and Ameriprise as soon as I got the email from the police.
Now I have been put on nerve control agents to try to stop seizures, antibiotics to try to stop MRSA from literally eating my body which it had done in part, and many other drugs prescribed in an effort to save my life. My wife was able to get an immunization injection from our doctors that have reduced the effects on her that she actually got from me as these bacterial pathogens literally pass from one person to the next.
I have told all this to people at Costco Corporate including John Conlon, and also to Mike who is the local Costco warehouse manager in Chico, California. Mike appeared to be helping us out of concern over what corporate is doing to us, and Ameriprise their insurance division, but yesterday Mike sided with Conlon's criminal approach by saying to my wife that "Your husband is the reason we can all only communicate by email, because he gets upset and it is hard to talk with him".
Sure, they tell one lie after another, literally nearly and still may get me killed and maybe my wife too and others, because they deliberately provoke me as the severely disabled war veteran that I am, head injury, ptsd case from hell, hearing damage, vision damage, ambulatory problems, etc., and the only reason I am still alive is because, as they have been informed as well, I received all sorts of immunizations and injections from the US Marines and also from the US Army and also US Intelligence Services, for everything from the Black Plague to "name your deadly disease', some of those shots that nearly killed me as in the case when I was deploying overseas for an Army spec ops rescue mission after doing that sort of work in the Marines prior to the Army, where you go into the most toxic environments to rescue living and even dead hostages or prisoners of war, some of it top secret so I cannot say any more on that.
But Costco knows the basics on that and my other military service which they say, 'Thank you for your service, now go to hell if you want to do anything more than pay your premiums but don't ever make a claim or ask Corporate to help you when our vendors and our own divisions come down on you like the criminals they are'.
Thanks to feet dragging and fraudulent bad faith denials by Costco Corporate's John Conlon's masterful criminal tactics. We are now permanently homeless and our home has been deemed unsalvageable by contractors who say tearing it down to the see-through frame might work but that would cost more than full demolition and hauling it off to a toxic burn or burial facility. All thanks to Costco's sick little business model much like the hell they put us through when they pulled the 'Steal the disabled Marine's car' tactic on us. He won't ever figure out we have cheated him and we are breaking the law, because he had that head injury and can't follow their tricky tactics.
Sick ** as we called these types in military lingo, but we were talking about enemy terrorists while doing house to house fighting in the worst battle zones the world has ever seen, saving lives of people who need to be saved, and taking lives from people who must die so others may live as one of the search and rescue combat units I served with has as a motto, not to mention "Who Cares Wins", and maybe Costco should think about that one, because they sure as ** do NOT care.
Semper ** Fi you worthless sack of ** John Conlon, and Mike at the Warehouse in Chico, that is my town, I was born there, and I am sorry if I 'made it back to the world' from one impossible mission after another from starting in Vietnam all the way to Afghanistan and beyond. I am real sorry I am putting your worthless con artists out, and Mike, maybe you were pressured by Conlon and the President of Costco to play the provoke the disabled war veteran game, but now is your chance to stop it.
Best Buy in Chico a few blocks from Costco where Mike runs the Costco Warehouse pulled similar crap on us and many other people in the region, and Costco does this at will to anyone in Chico and all across America, and now it seems they are trying to beat Best Buy's failure mode where that company is close to going extinct, including after they recently tried to burn down their own store while stealing our laptop in the process which they 'managed to remove and take to a remote location to do what with?'. Yes, Costco is the mafia, maybe literally.
Sick, evil ** who take crap after crap on disabled war veterans that without those vets, including my direct boss from the Marines, Allan ** who they also know about that won the Congression Medal of Honor for war heroics, they want to ** on all of us and benefit us and what we have done and what the Marines still do to protect the world and America from total destruction and chaos, but Costco sure as you are living only wants to be a sneaky ** little girl terrorist veteran and his family abusing mafioso corporation instead of backing the products and services that they endorse and sell.

I used Costco Online for the first time to make a purchase. I'm so dissatisfied with the experience! Costco needs to come up about three levels just to achieve the one star rating that I had to give them on this site. My purchase was delivered by UPS. The driver did a quick light knock at the door, and by the time I opened the door (literally seconds later) the truck was pulling away from the curb. If I had the opportunity to inspect the delivery with the driver, I would have been able to determine it was the wrong item and sent it back. Regardless, I lugged the 115 lb (approximate weight) wrongly delivered package off the front step and into the house to a spot where I could open it. Of course, it was not even close to what I had ordered in size and weight. The item I ordered is much smaller and weighs much less.
I called Costco customer service and explained what was going on. Their service representative stated that I was lucky that UPS even knocked at the door. I was then told that I would have to move the item to a location that was suitable for UPS to come and pick up the return. I explained that I was partially disabled, and that moving the item took a toll on my body, as it was. I needed UPS to pick up the item where it Sat, after all they were the ones that delivered the wrong item. The service representative said that this was not going to happen. I would need $5 million liability insurance on my house to satisfy Costco and UPS, if they were to enter my house. I asked to speak with a manager, but he felt that he was too important to speak with a customer that had a complaint.
This is what I was left with: A disabled person needs to satisfy UPS requirements; an arrogant Costco manager that felt his time is more valuable than mine; a mouthy Costco customer service representative; the wrong item; having to chase Costco around for the return information, because they didn't send it to me in a timely manner; and I'm still waiting for the item I ordered in the first place. I'm thoroughly disgusted with Costco Online!

So I just left this Costco with my blood pressure super high! I have been a Costco member since I first began my teaching career 18 years ago. I really haven't had any major problems there until today. Check this out. I just finished shopping with my son and as I was packing the car I realized just how badly I needed to use the ladies room. My son told me to just go and ask the guys at the door and they'll let you in, "It's Costco mom, after all." So I walk up to DON, the tall African-American guy, at the door and basically begged him to use the ladies room.
He says, "I'm sorry, but the store is closed, there is a restroom at In-n-Out Burger." I say okay and step back because I saw that I had interrupted him as he was talking to a ** man standing at the door with tan slacks in his hands with his receipt. I noticed Don was listening to him intently and then relented and let the ** man return his pants. This after he told me I could not use the restroom. I walked up to him and said, "If you are going to let him in, you are going to let me in to use the restroom!" He said, "Ok, then but I'm going to follow YOU!"
As you can imagine, I'm not very happy at this point. Don actually started following me to the restroom. As he was following me I was telling him how ridiculous this treatment was and I accidentally TOUCHED his nose with my index finger because I didn't now how closely he was following me. He in turn say "You don't have to put you HANDS on me!" What the Hell is going on in this man's head, I don't know but Don has some serious profiling issues and Costco needs to get rid of this racist employee!
I am very upset, not only because of the sexist and racist treatment I received, but because my 10 year-old son was watching. And yes, if he had turned the ** man away at the door as he did me, then Don could be commended for following and enforcing Costco's policies and procedures, but HE DID NOT DO THAT! And YES this has EVERYTHING to do with being a WOMAN and being **. DON needs a new job, maybe working with the people he respects the most, NOT Costco multicultural customers.

Which is apparently why we easily caught the attention of "Hal". When my boy was going to help me pump the gas Hal started yelling "That's not allowed!". Scared my son back into the car anyway. Next, I tried to find a way to resolve this via our account online -- no luck. Then it hit me -- customer service -- aren't they the guys who will fix anything -- the 'customer is always right' place? I emailed customer service. Now, the store employees all appeared to be competent, polite, and helpful, but this would not be the case with online customer service. The first bot (Medora **) who emailed me did not even acknowledge the problem, let alone apologize for it. She just listed all the ways a person could get help, as if I'd asked for contact methods, as though I hadn't mentioned my problem in great detail as well as my attempts to reconcile it.
My response to her got me a return email and an overview of their unwavering (at least online) policy to never discuss such important things with anyone but the primary member (my husband). Since I am just a lowly secondary member, I'm not worthy of their attention. I should just be thankful I'm allowed to shop there without my husband present.
My response to that brought out the second bot (Stacy **) who never failed, in every email, to first, thank me for contacting Costco then offer up the obligatory "I am sorry you..." just like she learned at corporate charm school. The rest of her email just threw up roadblocks via company policy statements. I guess the Costco employees at the stores have different company policies because I was never once informed that my membership position made it impossible for them to talk to me while they were busy talking to me, trying to correct the check problem.
So... my husband gets involved (his favorite thing) and emails bot #2, telling her we have played enough games -- change our membership back to the lowest tier and refund the difference since we can't seem to get the perks for the executive level. Bot #2 refused to do that, explaining that she would do nothing he asked as long as his emails came from the same email address as mine. So, I'm guessing writing a letter is out because we both share the same residence? Let's see, we've tried in person, email, our account on Costco.com. Hmmmm.... what could be left?
The phone! The phone! Bot #2 directed my husband to call their 800 number for assistance. He did, and reached their automated phone system: "operators are all busy for a LONG time... if you like, we can call you back when hell freezes over, please give us your number and we will call you back, we promise..." My husband entered his cell number at the prompt and the automated system responded that it was not a valid number. Thinking he'd entered it wrong, he called back and tried again. Same story: "this is not a valid number..." Valid for what? Valid to reach anyone who gives a **? I don't think anyone has a valid number for that. Not the worst customer service dept. I have encountered in my 60 years on this planet, but definitely the most intellectually challenged, without a doubt.

I saw a sign above a Nikon DSLR, which said it was on sale for $1099.99. I asked the box boy working in electronics if he could verify this since I had been looking at it the week before and it was selling for $1449.99. The box boy went away and when he came back said that it was mistagged and it WAS still $1449.99. So I asked him if I should get it for the price I saw since the product price was misrepresented. He scoffed at that and said I could try, but that it's very dishonest of me since I saw the price last week was higher. He was very rude, dismissive, and disrespectful, so I walked away.
Approximately 10 minutes later I noticed he was talking to another employee and could tell they were talking about the camera. I went over and asked if the other person was the manager. They both said "no" and the second guy proceeded to put him finger in my face telling me that I should've known it was a mistake and that the price tag was misplaced. I told him I didn't like how rude and aggressive he was being towards me and that he needs to stop putting his finger in my face.
At that point the manager walked over and asked what was going on. The employee told the manager I called him a "loser" and was being aggressive. That's when the manager asked me if I called the employee a "loser", and I said "no". The employee called me a liar, and the manager said, "Okay, I just walked over here, so you need to leave", pointed at me, and threatened to call the police if I didn't. All this without hearing my side of the story. Disgusted with the whole situation I left and won't be returning to Costco again. I also took a picture of the display they refused to honor and were so rude about.

And "COINCIDENTALLY", the price of the tv was more expensive than my last 4 orders. I found out that customer service had allowed him to steal my membership after he lied to them. I went online and contacted customer service with my complaint. They claimed someone would call but no one ever did and when I asked for an update, they gave me a short response that basically said they would do nothing. I will not buy a membership again if it is so easy for someone to steal it.

Costco.com's order confirmation email states: "The estimated delivery time will be approximately 2 to 3 weeks from the time of order." The two key words in this sentence are "estimated" and "approximately", which should read "optimistically". A brief history of my sad experience with purchasing a large kitchen appliance from Costco.com is as follows:
On 12/12/2015, I ordered a Whirlpool Model WRX988SIBH refrigerator from Costco.com. On the same day, I received an email confirmation of this order, and on the same day my American Express account was charged for the full purchase price of the refrigerator. On 01/07/2016, I received delivery of a damaged Whirlpool refrigerator with a dent on one side, which I rejected. I then requested that this refrigerator be reordered, which turned out to be a mistake. I should have cancelled the order instead. According to Costco.com's Customer Service, the refrigerator was reordered on the following day (01/08/2016). I received an email from Costco.com on 01/12/2016 confirming the reorder.
Two weeks later, I called Costco.com's Customer Service to find out the status of my reorder. I was told that the reorder would still take two to three weeks, and that there was no assurance that the reordered refrigerator would be delivered at the end of three weeks. The Costco.com Customer Service representative further stated that this particular Whirlpool model was not on back order, even though it was on back-order for Home Depot until sometime in February 2016. I wonder if, in fact, it was also on back-order for Costco?
On 01/20/1016, I ran out of patience with Costco.com, and cancelled the reorder. On the same day I ordered an equivalent LG refrigerator (Model LFX28968ST) from Lowe's, which was delivered a few days later (01/22/2016). Lowe's price matched the Whirlpool refrigerator that I had ordered from Costco.com since they do not carry this particular Whirlpool model. Costco.com's cancellation acknowledgement email states that my credit card was not charged, when, in fact, it was charged the full purchase price when I placed the original order over a month earlier rather than when the damaged item was shipped on 01/07/2016.
Needless to say, I will never attempt to purchase any large appliance from Costco.com again. Their delivery times are far too long and uncertain. Furthermore, Costco.com was unwilling to extend any effort to find out the status of my order. Furthermore, Costco.com charged my credit card when I placed the order, rather than when the item was shipped, which is typical of most online retailer (e.g. Amazon), and contrary to the statement in its order cancellation email. Why shop at Costco.com for a major appliance when you can purchase the same or an equivalent item at the same price from Lowe's or Home Depot, and get delivery in a few days? As of 1/27/2016, I have not received my refund, after many calls to Costco.com's Customer Service who kept telling me that it would be three days. It is like pushing on string when dealing with Costco.com.

This happened on Sunday Jan. 24 at Costco in Concord, CA. I came to get refund for a defective product I bought a week or so ago (I had spoken about that product on the phone with their dept manager Marci). I had a busy day and made it to the store about 30 min before they close at 6 pm. Customer returns counter is close to the exit, and people with loaded carts move right past it. There were also empty carts near the exit blocking customers' way to the counter. When one of the Costco customer reps called "Next," I maneuvered between those empty carts, came to his window and started talking to him.
At this moment I heard a woman on my right side loudly telling me to move out of her way. At first I didn't realize she was yelling at me. When she repeated her demand, I looked around - there were empty carts to my left, moving people with carts behind me, she was to my right with yet another cart between her and me, and I was in the middle of a transaction. I just shook my head and said that I'm busy now (and I was NOT loud like her). She started loudly complaining to someone that I refused to move and then told me, "Don't you see I'm a Costco employee?" I actually didn't see.
I turned to her again and asked if she could move around me. So she did move around me with her cart, but stopped on my left side and started even louder yelling at me that I didn't give her respect and that Costco employees work V E R Y H A R D. She repeated these 2 words several times while blocking the people on their way out, everyone stopped and looked at me. This was extremely embarrassing to me. I said sorry to her, but she was not listening. She rolled her eyes, her head was turned up and those words "V E R Y H A R D" sounded like a wolf howling at the moon. Then she dumped her cart next to the other carts blocking the way to the counter and slowly walked away.
So what is this employee doing in the customer business with her attitude of "my way of the highway?" Or, is it a sign of a secret Costco policy to harass customers returning defective products? Or, was she enjoying a chance to humiliate someone ethnically different from her (she's white, I'm not). Either way, I will file my complaint with Costco headquarters. She rudely interrupted my conversation with the Costco person behind the counter, she demanded that I move, but where to? Doesn't matter, as long as she will have HER convenience, and then she brought everyone's attention to her sorrow over her hard work and made it sound like I picked on her, not the other way around. I'm sorry I said sorry to her. I have nothing to be sorry for. We're not even talking basic customer respect here. I now want a meaningful Costco apology and I want this employee fired. If anyone can recommend a good lawyer, I'd very much appreciate that.

It was their mistake yet they would not honor it. He said to take it up with corporate office. He was so rude and unprofessional, he was eating on the sales floor while speaking to us. Today 1/15/16 I decided to pick up a few items at the Costco location in Foster City, Ca. I finished my shopping and checked out at the register and headed out the store. An employee at the exit door checked my receipt and then asked me to open my computer bag to see if I had stolen anything. I said, "No, and why ask me and not anyone else in the line?" She said she needed to check my computer bag. I said no again and this is so rude and embarrassing and it's harassment. I said, "I'm not a thief and you're treating me like one and I'm the only black guy in the line. Why aren't you asking any other men or women with purses to check their bags or the people who have backpacks?" I also stated that I have been a member for over twenty plus years, I shop at Costco once a week and I pay $120.00 per year for my membership to be treated like a criminal.
I have bring my computer bag with me all the time and I'm not leaving my computer in my car and no one has ever asked me to check my bag before. I said no again and another employee told me that my membership would be canceled if I did not open my bag. Meanwhile people are staring at me like I stole something and making rude comments about my reaction to what is happening to me. It was dehumanizing, degrading, and disrespectful. I said, "No" again, "Unless you ask everyone to open his or her bags that are leaving Costco", and the employee again said no. I stated, that I didn't have a problem opening my bag to check, if they were going to check all the other customers leaving, to open their bags.
Many passed by me with backpacks, big purses and various bags and were not requested to have their bags checked. I was singled out to open my computer bag and no one else that was leaving Costco were asked to open their bags. That would be called racial profiling. I have the right to be treated with the same amount of respect Costco give all the other members of Costco. A manager named Chris kept trying to rationalize the profiling, which made things worse, as people are walking out the store, not understanding what's going on. So now people walking out the store are making mean comments to me, as I am yelling back at them to mind their business, because they weren't being treated like a common criminal. I can't put into words how awful this experience was. I had to leave the store to return back to work, because I own my own business, as Chris, the manager was trying to detain me there.
I told Chris to "Call the police and let them search my bag or you search it and when you do I will get legal counsel for discrimination and racial profiling, because I don't deserve to be treated this way." I told him, "This is so outrageous and that I would be contacting Costco corporate office about this incident." I feel like such an idiot for supporting Costco for so many years of my business to be racially profiled and treated like a criminal. I'm going to ask everyone I know and friends of friends not to open their bags, purses or backpacks at any Costco location unless they ask everyone that shops in their store to open their bags when they're leaving Costco. Your Costco employees made it very clear to me that they had every right to profile me and they would cancel my membership if I did not comply with this outrageous prejudice treatment.

After talking with the Concierge people, they sent me a box and packing material to send my unit in. Per the Concierge people, the box arrived without a mark or dent. The Costco rep, Austin, called me to assure me that my unit arrived and was going through initial diagnostics. I thought wow, Costco's a class act outfit.
About a week goes by and I hear nothing so I give them a call. Then I find out that my desktop computer will not be repaired because the LCD display was cracked and that is not covered under their warranty. The display was perfect when it left my house. Somebody obviously dropped my PC at their facility. Of course there is no manager to talk to and no way to reason with them. I wonder how many other people have been given the same story? After I parked my car, I went inside. There were two employees at the front door- a young nice woman and an older blonde woman. The younger woman - let's just call her Cassy - asked me if I had a membership. I said "No, but my mother has it and she already walked in when I went to find a parking spot". This true phrase works every time and lets me get in like that. Cassy smiled and said "Okay" and I walked inside. The older rude blonde, being the ** that she is (sorry for my language), calls out to me "Hello Hello Hello" and tries to make a big scene. I ignored her because she was pissing me off, and just kept on walking.
After this blonde learns that I ignored her, she follows me and calls for help on her walkie-talkie. I kept walking towards where I knew my mother would be, in the pharmacy waiting to get my hearing batteries. I couldn't find her so I pulled out my cell to call her. While calling, I slow down and find this blonde ** following me and was like: "You can't just go and give us attitude..." Like how was I giving attitude especially when I got an okay from Cassy? Blonde ** piss me off man. Then a few seconds later I see this other employee who is a nice tall man. He came and the blonde ** thankfully peaced it. I didn't want to deal with her rude ass. Anywho so he waited for me until I found my mom standing in the line and acknowledged my mother to let the entrance people know that her daughter will be coming in.
This blonde ** just made a big scene out of nothing. I am going to find out her name and report her there. I thought she was just rude when it was unnecessary. I really think that she had a fight with someone else and pulled her anger out on me. Or I really think that she is a racist blonde **. Again, excuse me language. Good day, and God bless.

What I found out thru Costco and what they are allowing that American Standard Company has sold their name to be used on a box that is sold thru Costco. The box has a faucet and sink combo. What started this mess is there was no manual or instructions inside box for the install of either pieces. No template paper for sink opening to be cut. No info on what lines go to what pipe fitting for faucet. I called Costco and they gave me the standard BS line to call other company on box. I did this and this, company told me to call another company because this was not their product. They sold their name to another company to be printed just on box.
In the legal terminology this is called bait and switch. At minimum, to say the least unethical for a business like Costco to allow this to happen. I called this other company and no one will answer the phone and after several rings it goes into a busy signal. To make matters worst, to my better judgement I should have realized that this combination thru Costco was a hoax. The sink alone should have been more than the combination. If it brakes again you spare side arm. 9 members of my family buy glasses from Costco for last 10 years. Never had such material. So bought on good faith. $219.98 gone down the drain for good faith.

Customer Service does not exist in this store. I have purchased soured milk from them, they refused the return. I did not have the receipt and it was their store brand, Kirkland. The cashiers at the register are not friendly or helpful to the customer. There is no way that they say that they appreciate their customers. I have purchased tea that has been in the bottles way too long, it tasted like plastic. I purchased a wall safe without the key and I could not get it from the maker of the wall safe as the manager promised. They used to receive $300 from me twice a month, now I purchase as little as possible.

Very frustrating, I thought Costco would stand behind their guarantee, but I guess not. I am now an EX Costco customer. PASS THE WORD ON AND MAYBE THEY WILL SMARTEN UP.

Arrived 45 minutes before store opened as directed. Didn't see anyone handing out numbers as we were told there would be. Turns out he was way at the front by the door and we were waiting in line. It would have been helpful to know he was there. So we were at the back without a number once the doors opened. So we can pick up truck in about 7 hours. Glad we took 2 vehicles.

It would have been faster and easier to go to a local tire store. We ordered them online a week ago. Should have been delivered to Costco Friday but they turned down the delivery. They only accept one UPS delivery per day. They were delivered today - 4 hours ago - they say they will contact me when they get tired but they haven't. So I call them. The next appointment available isn't for a week and a half. Or I can go sit and wait in line any day. I ask when the appointment would be in 1.5 weeks and am transferred without having a chance to ask further questions. I hung up. We will go sit in line when we have many hours to spare. Lesson learned. Future tires purchased won't be at Costco. Would have been done a week ago at a tire store.

Hello. Being that I own a successful and rather large business in Cumming Georgia, I have always shopped at BJ's in Cumming with their business membership. We decided to try out the new Costco that opened just last year and it sits up on a hill just a stone throw away from the BJ's we have shopped at for many years. We were totally committed to joining Costco as well as still maintain our BJ's membership. Until we toured the Cumming store for two hours just yesterday (Sunday).
First, the 5 of us tried to enter the warehouse and very politely told the man at the entrance we are going to join so we wanted to look at the store prior to joining. He rudely and sternly stated, "No, memberships are through that entrance over there." We were not allowed to enter. He was a just the beginning of what we thought would be a pleasant, normal experience. When we entered through the exit as the man stated we all managed to navigate through the locked down shopping carts preventing any entry in the store. It was an obvious attempt to stop shoplifting. We understood that. These days it's just the reality of business.
When we asked an employee in the store where the cleaners were (since we purchase such a high quantity) he extremely rudely stated, "They are over there," and he simply scampered off. That was the 3rd rude person in this store. We went over to the seafood dept and one of our employees asked a woman who was in front of the department if they had fresh lobsters. It's a very simply request because we are always having fancy parties for our employees. It's a logical question and inquiry since we are trying to see what Costco can offer us prior to actually committing to $110.00 in a business membership. Please remember we always spend between $13-15 thousand dollars per year at BJ's up to that point.
Again, the 3rd Rude person looked at my very nice and classy associate and said, "No, we only have frozen ones." She looked at all of us and walked off!! She didn't even bother showing us where in that huge store are the frozen lobsters. We were so shocked at this stores Horrible customer service. We all had the Extreme feeling that Costco was simply too big to care about their customers anymore. Costco treated all five us us very poorly. Maybe one customer being rude is understandable since everyone has a bad day. That is fine. We really get having a bad day here and there.
So far, it was 3 Rude Costco employees at Cumming and we were not done yet. All 5 of us were tired of being treated so poorly so we started heading for the door. On our way out, I decided to ask the desk at the membership counter if I can see what their coupon book looks like so my associates (that do a lot of the shopping) can look at it. The 4th Rude Costco Employee exactly replied, "What?" I said again, "the coupon book? Can we see one please?" Her exact reply following my second attempt at an answer was, " We don't do coupons!!" We all looked at each other in disbelief!!
We were in complete shock at a 4th Rude Costco Cumming Employee!! My group was upset and amazed. We only came away with the Strong feeling that Costco got so big they could care less about anyone in their store. Personally, I would have been forced to fire people if they worked for me. I could not permit my employees to engage customers/clients in the manner we were spoken to yesterday. It was horrible. Naturally, we did not join, nor want to associate with any company with the name of Costco. I have never seen anything like it. The employees were simply: Mean. They were Rude. They were extremely condescending. I had four other people with me yesterday to verify our experiences.
I found out, after leaving Cumming Costco, that Costco did actually do away with their coupon books and came up with what is actually a dishonest claim. They still have them called MFG discounts and/or rebates on the shelves. Let me tell you something, their prices were very high when compared to what we have been paying at BJ's for the exact same product. I can verify this to be true. I am not a BJ's spokesman but must mention them as they are the only two warehouse clubs in the N. GA area of Forsyth County. Bj's has Costco beat in all areas of product pricing, real coupons, and CUSTOMER/CLIENT CARE.
All five of us will not be going back to Costco. We will stay and renew at BJ's. COSTCO to us, in our opinion, is a perfect example of a company that has lost touch with the customer that feeds them. Running a very successful business in Cumming gives me the credibility to tell all of you beware of the Costco warehouse club. It has Gotten Much Much Worse. High prices, extremely rude employees, and in conclusion: All 5 of us agree: Our experience at Costco was ice cold. In fact, it was a brutally cold atmosphere. We just wanted to get out of there. If it was free, we still would not shop there. To the new Costco customer service and their new higher prices (no coupons whatsoever) good luck. The customer will eventually catch on to what you are doing. They know you are ripping them off. What goes around usually comes around.

I went to Costco on Renassaince Blvd. in ABQ, NM on Halloween and was horrified when I walked in the door and found a female greeter in blackface. I love shopping at Costco and agree with so many of their practices concerning workers, even admire them for letting them dress up for Halloween but this was over the line. The line at customer service was very long it being a Saturday, so I approached a floor manager who seemed as upset at the idea as I was. I asked her if she knew what black face was and she said yes. She assured me it would be handled and she left right away to deal with the matter. On my way out of the building, there was the greeter now at the exit checking receipts. I do not condone this behavior and really feel she should have been taken off the floor. Her outfit seemed to represent that of the Tyler Perry character Madea.

I just had a very poor experience with Costco Customer Service. I'm very SAD! I shop Costco quite a bit and well I have never returned anything so this is the first time. I ordered two "prep" backpacks. They came yesterday and they STINK! Moldy, mildewy, really, really strong. I thought the smell was just the box they came in but no. The smell woke me up in the middle of the night and I took them outside. The dining room still smells~ ICK!
So today I called and got rather rude treatment from two different customer service representatives. They insisted that the backpacks could not be returned without being boxed (I would now have to buy boxes). I really don't want to put them in my car and drive 40 minutes to the store. I wanted to reorder but wanted some assurance that the problem might me addressed. The reps (2) I talked to said "NO promise that the situation could be addressed." I got a vendor phone number from the reps that was NOT correct. So I checked the invoice and found a number and called it and very, very nice people answered and promised to run down the problem and fix it.
The two women from Costco Customer Service kept insisting that no other complaints had been made so I guess I'm just wrong??? Maybe some training for the reps might be in order, problem solving, seems basic but needed! We will soon have a new Sam's and I'm not a fan of the evil Walmart World but after this I going to have to check them out...

I usually shop the same COSTCO store in Matthews, a Charlotte, NC suburb, considered by most (and the tax man) to be a part of Mecklenburg County, as is Charlotte. This past weekend, I had occasion to go to another Charlotte COSTCO located on Tyvola Rd., approx 13 miles from one store to the other. I specifically stopped to buy gas, thinking that the price would be the same. I was shocked to see the price in the Tyvola store... less than 10 miles away -- was 11 cents higher - $1.90/gal - than the Matthews COSTCO. The next day I called the Matthews store and found that their price had dropped even further to $1.71/gallon. Another call told me the Tyvola store price was STILL $1.90/gallon.
Now, while $1.90/gal is a good deal compared to gas station prices of $2.02 - $2.18/gal., $1.71 is a much BETTER deal -- and a $.9/ a gallon difference in price between two locations of a corporate store that calls itself a wholesale "club" is a substantial deviation! To me, and maybe some of you, the term "club" implies that all club members at least in the same city get the same treatment and prices, but apparently NOT at COSTCO.
Phone inquiries gave me two different answers. First I was told that "corporate" set gas prices. Period. Then, the higher-priced store told a different story, that they "regionalize" their pricing based on a 50 mile radius. That means, unfortunately, that, Costco members in the same city, -- Charlotte for example-- can wind up paying a lot more for their gas than members located elsewhere in the same city. Even worse, I was told that pricing deviations by location can apply to a lot of their products. So what's REALLY the story, COSTCO? I paid the same membership fee as Jane Doe across town, so why am I paying more than she is for your products? Yes, transportation costs are a factor in pricing, but going 13 miles down the road jacks the price up that much??? RIDICULOUS.
Lastly, when I call to ask about this situation, I don't enjoy being treated as if I was less than a valued customer. One girl halfway through my inquiry tried to cut me off with, "I don't want to be RUDE, but..." and the other tried to make my complaint into a "Suggestion" and I objected to that and then asked for the name of her dept manager. She got a little nicer after that. lol. Customer service is taking a nose-dive.
I also noticed that the "review" page on Costco's website is no longer accepting reviews. They seem to cut off in 2012 and go back to 2008. Nothing more recent. So, what happened in 2012? A simple Google answered my question there: A new CEO took over: SHAME on you, W. Craig Jelinek. When you can't take honest opinions and work with them, you are failing at your job. Well and good the employees are getting higher wages, but now I begin to see that as just another PR trick to keep member from "looking behind the curtain" at the real issues that affect our pocketbooks.

I am a repeating customer of Costco for the past 25 over years, and I respect your business model. I recently went to one of your branches in Seoul, Korea, and I purchased a packaged fresh raw beef (chuck eye roll) along with other items. I came home that evening and prepared steak dinner. As I was searing the steak on the pan, I saw white small worms or maggots crawling out of the steak. I doubted that I was seeing the moving creatures at first. But as I looked close, I confirmed that 8-10 worms were wriggling on top of the steak. I guess they couldn't resist the heat!
To make the story short, I called the branch and a person from the meat department came and took the item. He told us that it will be sent to the suppliers to be tested/analyzed so they can determine what they are. One of the manager from the meat department said that they will contact me again once the results come back from the outsourced supplier. It's been a whole week since, and they are still in the process of finding out what kind of worms they are. For god sake, would a person who saw worms wiggling on the fresh steak while cooking be interested in finding out if those are about to become butterflies or mosquitoes?
Costco should have taken this to their regional corporate level for an official apology. I am very irritated with the fact that they were busy explaining the overall process of outsourced meat supply channel. My first line of thought is 'shouldn't Costco be responsible for all the goods they put into the store, whether it's a fresh food or a finished products?' The fact they outsourced the beef channel doesn't give Costco an excuse for this matter nor a lot of time to fix things while they have me hanging.
Costco is a well established global firm. The same batch of meat should have been recalled to other customers who purchased the same item. For all the world-wide customers healthy and pleasant experience with Costco, the firm should re-evaluate hygienic condition of raw food supply and distribution channel and its customer care, especially in the international branch sites. As much as I will try to forget that moment, it really is traumatizing seeing worms wriggling on the fresh steaks. I am afraid this experience will last with me for the rest of my life deterring the way I consumed meat. The photos of the particular item bought is attached for your information.

After I swiped my credit card to pay for my items she held onto my membership card. Below are the dialogue between the cashier and I.
Cashier: "Is this your card?" Me: "Yes." Cashier: (She pointed to the picture on the back of the card) "Give me your ID. I need to check!" Me: "Why? Do you check every customer?" Cashier: "Yes." Me: "You did not check the ID of the customer in front of me." (Then I passed my ID to her. She compared the membership card and my ID and then returned my ID back to me. After checking my ID the receipt came out but she held my receipt in her hand and my membership card and turned to face another side. She then proceeded to help the next customer while I waited for her to return my membership card and receipt. This lasted about a few minutes.)
Me: "Please give me back my membership card and my receipt." (There was a packing boy helping and standing next to her. He asked her, "Have you returned her receipt?" She did not answer.) Cashier: "Sir! Sir! Sir!." (A man was talking on the phone not far away from the cashier counter and responded, "Yes, yes, hold on.") Me: "What is your name? (Her employee card was facing herself and she refused to tell me her name.) Me: "What's your name? I have already paid for my stuff. You cannot hold onto my receipt."
Cashier: "Sir! Sir! Sir!" Man: "Yes, yes, wait!" A few minutes later the man came over. The cashier gave him my membership card and receipt and told him to explain why she had to check my ID. He ushered me to the side. Man:"Did she check your credit card and match it to your membership card?" Me: "No." Man: "You should have checked your credit card instead of your ID. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. I will talk with her privately later."
The man had not even given me a reason for why the cashier had to check my ID. I was in a hurry so I left. I am very disappointed with the services that SF Costco has provided! We have been told we will have to make an appointment, soonest being a month from now, or drop the aid off & make another trip later to retrieve it after they have a chance to check it out! After spending $2000+, this is NOT what I expected from the product or from the provider. If this is how Baxter Costco handles their hearing aid business, I recommend here & also personally to all my acquaintances to NOT use them for hearing aid needs!

We needed to renew window shades and blinds and given our good experience with Costco retail over the years we decided we would give them a shot in this area. The vendor was fine and prompt and polite. He quoted us and we thought we should get a second quote as well. Because of Costco's great pricing in retail we were confident, so we grew impatient awaiting the second quote and went ahead writing a check to Costco for the first. Subsequently the second vendor quoted what was well over $1500 less for the same installed. Okay, our bad, not waiting. Still, I thought a good explanation from Costco should be sought. After a wait, I did get a phone call response to a written communication - a response that was unsatisfying and a little combative. I then wrote and rewrote asking for a written response. I still wait.

This has been escalated to the Costco Resolutions department and still nothing has been done. I have made over 50 phone calls and been on hold for 30+ hours. No lie. The only thing this inept company has done is cash my check. Just awful! Truly a horrific experience. Never again.

I called capital one on Aug 4 to let them know I had misplaced/lost my Costco capital one credit card. They said they would send a new one, it would take 10 to 14 days. On august 18th I called them to let them know it had been 14 days and I had not received my new card. They said they had made an error and the new card was not processed, but they would do it right away and put a rush on it and I should receive it within 3 to 5 days. I called on august 24th to let them know I had not received my new card. They were very apologetic again and I was a bit miffed with their service in replacing my card. He then told me it was 3 to 5 business days which meant day 5 was Aug 25, he gave me a $20.00 credit to my account for the inconvenience and said I should have it tomorrow.
August 25th is today and my replacement card has still not arrived. Apparently rush is not 3 to 5 business days. I called Capital One and this customer rep was very unhelpful, told me that day 5 was aug 26 and to wait until tomorrow for it to arrive. She also said that the card had not been returned to them and they do not send them out by courier. Needless to say I am very disappointed with their service, the irony is my bill arrived today Aug 25th.
Now I know Costco is not responsible for Capital One's service, however they do have a contract with them and they need to know that there is a problem with their service levels. I never had this problem with any other credit card company. Costco please take note, most people get frustrated and leave and they don't tell you why. I had no idea what would look good in my new home so I asked for a professional to help me chose and I got a person who gave me the worst and most expensive product they offered in order to make a commission. Unfortunately, I did not realize Costco was not involved at all about checking the quality/price ratio, and Furr charged me with a price that was ridiculously out of proportion of the quality and worth of the equipment/installation. I could get another HVAC company to do the same equipment/installation with 20% less of the price I paid. Even worse, I paid for the 10% rebate which motivated me to do this in the first place. Costco did finally agree and sent a technician who correctly installed the dryer to the venting tube and repaired the inside of the wall. YAY! No more water in the light switch and no additional paint bubbling. Glad that Costco stepped up and did the right thing.

Costco had people install our washer/dryer but the dryer vent was hooked up improperly. The vent from the dryer was taped to our wall that also is the bathroom wall. The dryer is venting into our bathroom wall and the light switch plate fills with water and the paint on the bathroom wall is starting to bubble. My husband suffered a massive stroke and is being cared for at home. The wall most likely now has mold and mildew that needs to be corrected but Costco is doing nothing to resolve. They told me I have to hire someone to come out and determine the problem. They did send an LG tech who also reported that the vent was improperly installed but Costco still won't resolve.

When the final paperwork arrived it was at 4% and close to $1,000 in points to receive a lower mortgage interest rate. Nothing was ever said about the interest rate going up and the new buy down fees. This is classic "Bait and Switch". Here the mortgage lender has breached its fiduciary obligation to me. This complaint/review is for the customer service that I had received in this location of Costco (Sunnyvale, CA). I have been a customer for over 20 years and in that time, I can definitely tell you that I've never had any complaints or issues with their customer service. However, things have changed in the decade or so. This time my experience is with the same cashier. Her name is ** (or so it says on my receipt), she's an elder woman (ages of 50s-60s) and is Asian or some sort of Asian ethnicity. I've come into contact with her a few times while she was ringing me up and has always had a rude tone. I have seen her being this way with other customers in the times that I came to shop here, but luckily did not have her as a cashier. She would give people an attitude and give a snotty tone. It's such a disrespect!
In my last encounter with her, I was shopping with my daughters, she would ask me certain things like: "Is this transaction together or separate", before I had a chance to answer her, she asked again but raised her voice at me. On top of that while she was ringing up an item she asked: "How much is this?" I told her, "I didn't know", and then she went and said "well, you should know the price of it!" That was very uncalled for with her voice raised again and snobbish tone. Why not just call or have a price check, why give me an attitude?
I have had this types of issues with her before where she seems to hate her job and on top of that possibly even hate the people that she is servicing. This is the only Costco and the only cashier/employee that I have had any type of issues within my 20 years of being a member. I urge anyone that shops there to beware of this bitter elder cashier as she does not even try to be nice to her customers and even adds insult to injury. I will avoid this Costco location for good! I have never experienced such a disrespect from any other of the 3 Costcos I have shopped at: San Jose, Santa Clara (this being the newest), and Mountain View. I hope that management will do something about this lady and at least give her a pep talk of some sort. Thank you for reading!

Customer Service (CS) people are rude and/or not helpful. Most of the time, when I ask for help they have an 'attitude' that makes me feel like I am wasting their time. And I had previously thought Walmart had bad customer service.
Just yesterday I went looking for a freezer and after 15 minutes of walking around unsuccessfully when I couldn't find it, I approached a CS who promptly stated that Costco does not sell freezers. I knew I had seen it, just could not remember where. So, I checked with her again, if she's sure. Her voice froze and she bit out, "YES MA'AM". After that I walked around and after about 10 minutes later, found the freezer near the TV section. I went back to the same CS person and reported that Costco does sell freezer and it is located near the TV area, her response was "Oh really". Are these folks underpaid or ill-treated in some manner that they should be so rude?
I went to the Customer Service and reported the incident, his prompt response was, "Are we supposed to know everything in this store? That's not possible". He then proceeded to walk away without waiting for a response which would have been - "maybe you can offer to check if you don't know what's in the store."This is not the first time as there have been previous problems with the customer service folks. I do not like being ill-treated or being treated like a 3rd class citizen. After the fact I asked him if there was anywhere I can write a review (I was happy with the employee before) he automatically thought I meant a complaint about him. So he tells me this whole story of what to do but turns out none of it was true. Remind you this process was about 5 mins or less. And this employee was not only disrespectful and rude but the worst customer service experience I have ever received. The employee would have been better off not speaking to me at all. I love Costco but if I ever have 1 little more experience like this I will cancel my membership.

Waiting weeks for the "resource specialist" to authorize replacement of a lost shipment. I (not my job) have had to follow up numerous times with their third party provider (Awning company) and the specialist as no one seems to know what they are doing. The resource specialist consistently has proved misleading information. When asked to speak to Costco manager, I was placed on hold for 10 minutes. Then in speaking to manager the explanation provided is an "incorrect order number was entered" (really).
In total I have waited 7 weeks for a missing item, had to reschedule work, will have pay for installation of 2 separate items. The only person that is attempting to move this forward is the Awning company, but they are handcuffed by Costco. Did I mention that you have to repeat the same information several times. I am now assured that this will be addressed, which means what exactly... I will be waiting for an order that should have been delivered April 26.

My husband and I visited the Chico, California Costco on 5-26-15. Stopped at the food court for a quick snack. A few minutes later, in walks a family with three dogs into the food court!! I move to another table so I'm not right next to the three dogs. We saw the family then get up after eating to split up in three different directions but kept in contact by phone. I ran into one of the women with one of the pit bull puppies (which of course peed on the floor) back by the paper towels.
The woman promptly walked off for some unknown person to slip in the pee or an employee to find it and clean it up for her. I watched the woman and she never told an employee her dog had peed on the floor. They had two puppies and one full-sized black Lab. Then we also saw another woman, not with the first group, walking in the bakery area with her full-sized poodle! Four dogs within a matter of minutes (!!) walking among the food people buy.
Now does Costco really think these darling doggies aren't going to hike their leg and pee on something that we as consumers may purchase? Why does Costco allow dogs in the store that clearly are not service dogs?!!! Service dogs have papers proving they are service dogs which are to be with them at all times. I was told by management all someone has to say is 'my dog is a service dog' and bam, they're in! I wonder what the health department has to say about that.
I saw a large dog in the Redding store poop right next to a food vendor cooking and serving food!!! So many complaints from customers!! I heard many complaints from customers about the dogs all over the store in Chico too. I talked to a few of them and told them fill out the complaints cards in the food court section of the store. My husband and I filled them out. I also sent a letter to Costco regarding the issue. Got a short statement saying my email was sent to another area for review. Haven't heard a thing since.
In the last couple of years I have been taking my shopping to other stores. Now after the dog situation, I'm going to be taking a lot more of my shopping to other stores. It's awful to charge a huge amount for the privilege to shop at Costco then don't give a flip about customer service. You care more about the inconsiderate people who insist on bringing their obviously not-potty-trained dogs into the store and tell an outright lie about them being service dogs to drag the poor animal through the store because they can!! It's allowed by Costco because they don't have the backbone to stand up to the morons and say NO animals allowed unless you have papers for the dog proving it's a true service dog!! I saw a woman take her pony into a pet store a month ago!! I'm going to tell her she can take her pony into Costco too!!! Just say "it's a service pony"!!

About a year and a half after purchasing a Samsung television from Costco, the TV stopped turning on. I called Costco, they had me go through troubleshooting steps, none of those worked, so they ordered parts and scheduled a technician to come to my house. It took him over two weeks to schedule, he was late when he did come and made me late for work, he didn't have the correct part, so I had to wait for them to re-order the correct parts, reschedule with him, etc. It took over one month for everything to be resolved and the TV to be fixed.
Second experience (still ongoing). Almost two years ago I bought an HP laptop from Costco. The sound started cutting in and out a while back. I called Costco yesterday, and they had me go through troubleshooting steps which took almost one hour -- even though I had informed them I had already gone through those steps (re-installing the sound drivers, etc). They then informed me that I would have to factory reset my computer. The issue with the sound is a hardware malfunction -- I was 100% sure because the sound cuts in and out, but if I keep jiggling the computer I can get it to work and then if I don't touch it the sound plays fine.
So, even though a factory reset would only help if it is a software issue, not a hardware issue, and I informed them that it was definitely a hardware issue, they made me reset everything on my computer. It took the computer 8 hours to complete the factory reset (during which time I obviously couldn't use it), and then it took me an additional 3 hours to re-install everything onto it. And of course it fixed nothing. Now I will have to wait again, hopefully not a full month, for them to actually fix it.
Very, very disappointed that they made me factory reset my computer even though it was clearly a hardware issue and that the entire process is so time consuming and onerous. They should either not offer this "service" at all or offer much better service. As it is, I have had incredible experiences with Costco but these two experiences have been horrible. It would be better for their brand to not offer this service than to dramatically disappoint.

I went to one Costco and after getting home discovered that I didn't get my hot dogs so I checked my receipt to make sure I was charged for them. I was and after reviewing my receipt also discovered that I had been charged twice for something. So a week or so later when I was visiting a different Costco I tried to get them to reimburse me only to be told that I had to go back to the same Costco. I was perplexed thinking that this couldn't be right. I mean, what if I had purchased this while on the road in my RV, would they expect me to drive all the way back to get a refund?
Knowing that they must be going against company policy I called Costco customer care number and explained the situation. They said that "That was correct," I had to go back to the same store! Wow, even Von's or Albertson's treats their customers better than that. The total amount came to about $25, and if they had checked my account they would have seen that I never take anything back or have complained about being overcharged before. To upset a customer over $25 is just bad form.

Called the warehouse located in Miami Lakes. Was told they would have the Gazebos May 14 in the morning. Warehouse opens at 9:45. They 12 available at a first come basis. I was there at 9 and was literally first in line. Store opened at ten and was told they were all gone. People in line at 4 am.
I find that to be absurd that they would open 6 hours early, and even if that was through, why wasn't I told. When it opened at ten, there were about a dozen people there for the same reason. When we complained, and asked to speak to a manager, we were told they did not care and could take our complaint and shove it. This was an inside job as I ever seen, only a few special guests were told as to when to be there, if at all. Not renewing my membership is not going to mean much to such a big corporation. I am sure that there are more complaints about this particular incident, and I hope they also drop their membership to a corporation that does so poorly train their employees to be honest and respectful.

When I opened the refrigerator door, the milk had leaked out all over the refrigerator. I then at midnight had to wash the refrigerator and the floor. I will never buy milk from them again. My wife's brand new car got hit by runaway shopping carts during very high winds and has dents/scratches as a result of that. Thank God none of my family was injured. First of all Costco should have been making sure all shopping carts were secure. They used the excuse that their staff was operating at normal procedure. I am not sure why you would be following normal procedure when the weather conditions were not normal. They made us file an incident report in March. It is half way through May, it is still not resolved.
They have a third party company Gallagher Bassett in Illinois handling this claim who are horrible at customer service and turnaround time. They said that they will not pay for all the damages to the car. I would have to go through my insurance and maybe they will consider paying for my deductible. I am considering legal action against Costco and Gallagher Bassett. Both companies have horrible customer and inept staff at handling incidents on Costco premises and any claims as a result of the incidents. I am also going to cancel my membership with Costco if they are going to treat their customers like this.

I went to your store only to find that you had no mixed frozen vegetables in Adelaide. I'm not interested in why they were not there. I blame your managers who have done poor risk assessments on when things go wrong and they always do. Most managers I know do not even know what a risk assessment is let alone do one. The issue is that no one has even attempted to find another supplier in the interim. From my point of view that's pathetic. A large store like yours should be able to source what ever product they need.
I drove a long way to do my shopping at your store only to find that you can not supply the basic shopping needs of your customers. If a store like Cole's and Woolworth can why is it that an American company is unable to do so as well? Is this the American way or should be looking at the Australian way innovation and solutions not problems? P.S. I went and did my shopping at Cole's at least they all have the products I wanted including the frozen vegetables at a competitive price.

Paid the local market rate ($4.00/lb) for 91% lean Kirkland Signature brand ground beef (5 1 lb packs for just under $20). It is labeled 91% lean, but is rendering about 19% fat (by weight) when it is cooked (after cooking 2 lbs of beef, I poured off 6 ounces of melted fat). Furthermore, it is really tough for ground beef. It has a very course grain and has lots of little chewy bits, indicating a high amount of gristle as well. If I wanted that low of quality of meat, I would have paid $3.00/lb at the local grocery store for 81% lean (and it would likely have been more meat and less gristle). I will never buy meat from Costco again. At least one of their suppliers is violating US law by mislabeling their "meat."

I know that when something bad happens at a store people are quick to complain. But when you have a good experience you don't bother to tell anyone (so I would like to go on record that I think Costco is great). I know that Costco is a big company and there are real people who work there so there are bound to be bad things happening sometimes. However, in my experience the good outweighs any negatives I might have experienced. I would like to recommend Costco and would rate it highly.
I feel that Costco tries to get good quality items, and they have good return policies. (I know they have had to change their return policies on computers because people were taking advantage of the policy and using it to update their computers for free each year!). My only complaint is that I get to liking something really well and think I can get it all the time and sometimes it just disappears! I found this site because I was looking for It Se Bit Se women's underwear and was wanting to request that they bring them back. But all in all keep doing quality marketing and I'll keep coming back. A Costco rude employee moving stuff on a dolly yelling like a ** at customer to move out of the way, while customers are looking around deciding what to buy! Management definitely need to find people with better manners and class to work there (Location: 14501 Hindry ave., Hawthorne, CA). Quality and price of the products are not worth the membership fee. Taking into account that they don't accept most credit cards, that ppl must buy large quantities, and that ppl are paying for a membership, the prices should be lower or the quality of products should be considerably higher.
Whenever you get a chance (reader) compare the unit price at other stores and you will realize that you are not saving any significant amount, or that you are actually paying more, even though you are paying a membership. Best example, avocados and other produce. Low quality and more expensive than in other places... and you are forced to buy large quantities at Costco.

However, recently I purchased 18-piece assorted glass lock bowls and instead received three separate small boxes with 6 each of the glass baby food containers -- these two products cannot be described as the same (one item is a very large box versus three small ones; different brands). Clearly not the same. However, somehow Costco vendor (apparently not all items come out of a Costco Warehouse).
Now it has been four days since I reported this to Costco and still no return label which was promised to be sent by email. It's now going on 4 weeks trying to get my Sony 65 inch LED TV fixed. Major run around! First you spend two hours trying to get to someone who then makes you perform a number of drills, like turning in and of, resetting, etc. All things that most consumers would do, and having nothing to do with what is obviously my problem..... Half the screen goes dark with mainly orange hues. Clearly outsourced somewhere, and following a set of instructions. To me it looked like a major issue like probable major motherboard problem.
Then they refer me to a technical person who then goes through another series of questions and then has me take a series of pictures of the TV and email the instructions. Outsourced somewhere else! He first said it would be a few days for another group of technicians to analyze and get back to me. However, a week later and no response. I then called the number the gave me and they said someone would call back. A week later someone called to say that it was the motherboard and that they were calling to let me know they were ordering the part, but not to set up service. They called a couple more times to basically say the same thing.
Now going on a month and no service for quite an expensive TV. Could have had this fixed within a week anywhere else. Gone twice to our local Costco Store in Pembroke Pines and approached managers who took my information and promised to intervene but never called me back. Moral of the story: DON'T BUY COSTCO MAJOR ELECTRONICS. They don't stand behind their warranty.
