We took our PC to BB to have a repair and they never called or (e)mailed and when we would call they’d say one thing or another, never that they had sold or destroyed it that is until I sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Now they are only offering $300 for my pretty new $800 computer. They are now saying we abandoned it which is not true. We called numerous times and even went to store only to be given the runaround. Even corporate lied to us and the BBB. They gave us 6 days to accept $300 and we aren't even in town. This is UNACCEPTABLE!

I ordered Samsung washer and dryer. On November 23, I got my confirmation #. I called customer service to check on my order and was told they were experiencing technical problems so my order was canceled and they cannot honor the original sale price. I am very upset because I went to the store several times and no one offered help. I decided to order online.

On a Black Friday "deal" I ordered an iPad air 2 4GB gold, but later received an iPad air 1 16GB silver worth about half of what I paid for. Not a big deal, I can just call and have it fixed. Boy, was I wrong. After a 20 minute wait on hold, I spent the next 10 minutes arguing with the "customer care" rep and trying to convince him that I didn't receive what I ordered. He kept insisting there was no issue. Once I thought I finally got him to understand this, he tried to tell me that it is not a Best Buy issue, but Apple's problem. I told him that I ordered from Best Buy and expected them to ship me what I paid for.
Very frustrated, I asked for a supervisor. He then immediately told me he would take care of it and send me a new one. I said, "wow that was fast, and that is great... why didn't we do this 15 minutes ago?" I asked for a new order number. He said there would be no new number. I asked if I would get a confirmation email. He said that I would not get one but he expedited the shipping and I would receive in 3 days.
Sounded fishy, so I called back the next day to confirm. I learned that it was, of course, never shipped nor did he take care of anything. It was apparent that he lied just to get me off the phone. Eventually, I did get this resolved at our local store. But, I have never had such an appalling customer service experience and will, as a result, regretfully never shop at Best Buy again.

My wife ordered a pair of Klipsch R-28f speakers on November 27, 2014. On November 30, per Best Buy Order Number ** details, each speaker was assigned a tracking number. On December 6, I called Best Buy and asked why only one speaker was delivered. Despite providing all the information that were in the body of Best Buy's message to my wife, and the confirmation from UPS that they do not have the item, Best Buy Customer Service Representative Jacquelyn was not able to track the item. Why did Best Buy mark the item "shipped" and yet cannot provide information of its whereabouts. The operator did not take further action after the call and advised me to wait.

I first made my order on the bestbuy.com website on Nov 29, 2014 using my best buy credit card. There were 3 items (camera, lens + flash) that came with 2 free items (bag + SD card). The total for the order was $4483.77. My Best buy credit card however did not authorize the purchase and denied the purchase (because of security reasons). After I called best buy credit card and verified the purchase, best buy credit card connected me with best buy sales and confirmed and secured the order.
Initially, the order went through just like how it does for every other online order I had ever made. I received notification that some items were being shipped (lens), and updates about the status. In fact, the lens + bag arrived at the store and was ready for pickup very quickly. I then received an email on Tuesday 12/2/14: Action required, billing problem encountered..
I proceeded to call best buy back that evening, and basically spent at least 3-4 hours on the phone. I called best buy, best buy elite, best buy credit card, and finally figured out the problem. When the entire order was sent through on Saturday nov 29, 2014, a hold was placed on my best buy credit card for the full value of the purchase, $4483.77. However, since the order was being shipped separately, when the lens arrived at the store ($1059.99), and the other parts of the order was being processed, bestbuy sales/post purchasing tried to charge my credit card again for the balance ($3423.78) on Tuesday 12/2/14. Best buy credit card rightfully rejected the additional $3423.78 since the authorization for $4483.77 had already gone through the first time round.
Anyway, I ended up calling best buy/best buy elite etc and encountered SEVERAL problems. I understand the role of hierarchy, but I ended up having to repeat myself at least 6-8 times that evening because my phone calls were getting dropped and I was getting disconnected each time one best buy personnel was transferring me to another personnel in a different department. It was extremely frustrating, and by the time I spoke to a supervisor, she understood my frustration and actually just gave me points worth $20. She was very helpful in eventually getting me in touch with a supervisor from post purchasing who then completed my order and fixed everything. She actually made a small mistake and had to resubmit my entire order. For the inconvenience, she took $50 off the order for the camera and promised everything was going to get shipped in a timely fashion now.
I received notice that the lens + bag had arrived again on Thursday (12/5/14). However, later in the evening, I received another familiar email from best buy stating there was a problem with payment on my account YET AGAIN! Action required, billing problem encountered. SO I called again, and after 30+mins on the phone, was told to just call back again in the morning, or they will have someone call me back. I elected to have someone call me back, but that did not happen.
I re-called bestbuy myself again later in the morning, and again encountered similar problems. I had to repeat myself 2-3 times on 2-3 separate calls, because the bestbuy personnel that picked up my call kept dropping my call. It is not a problem with my phone because I wasn't even holding it and had the whole conversation on speakerphone the entire time. One of the bestbuy personnel also acknowledged that they were having problems with the phone system and dropped calls.
Anyway, eventually, after another 30-40 mins of conversation/recalling/reconnections etc., I was eventually able to speak to another supervisor, who made some calls, checked on things and got back to me saying that my order is finally okay. However, she was supposed to send me an email confirmation that my order is okay. She also suggested going to the Nottingham branch in MD to pick up the order, but would get back to me. I did not hear back after 3-4 hrs and therefore called bestbuy again.
This time (right now as I am typing this), I have called bestbuy twice now, and on both episodes, I kept insisting on just getting transferred to speak to the supervisor again, and each time, after a 10-15 min wait, I get disconnected YET AGAIN. I really do not understand what is the problem with the phones/ connections etc.
However, there are other issues that need to be addressed. For one, there is a problem in which the way post purchasing deals with the orders in terms of how it submits to the best buy credit department, because best buy credit card should not be receiving all those charges on separate occasions, resulting in some of those subsequent transactions getting denied. If I am supposed to be a best buy elite plus customer, I dread to imagine what the regular customers face in terms of customer service/support.
This has truly been the worst online buying experience I have ever encountered. I did not choose to buy best buy because of any price advantage. The same deal could have been sought from amazon, B&H photo, Adorama, etc even my local camera store. I chose to buy it from best buy because of the loyalty program that I was a part of, but that has quickly changed my opinion of Best Buy.

I ordered a TV, Sound Bar and Geek Squad installation. The hardware came. A week later the Geek Squad came. Installed the hardware. Checked the TV and it did not work properly. Will need to get a part and install it. Not too bad so far. Checked TV screen in detail. One or more pixels does not work - implication defective screen. When Geek Squad comes with replacement part I will be sending back the entire TV. Customer experience - terrible due to defective product. But there is more. I have a 10% off coupon. I tried to call Best Buy to use it on this order. I was on hold for over 40 minutes, transferred to 4 different people and never got any help. My wife went to a store and visited customer service. They said they could not help because the coupon was expired. Why was the coupon expired? Because Best Buy's customer service was so bad I could not use the coupon.

I explain to the employee I ordered my item online. Showed my information that my item was paid for. Told me to sit down. Someone would be helping me. Another employee started helping me. In the end he asked me how would I be paying. I told him I had already paid. Well they wanted me to pay again for a phone I had already paid so I told him if they charge me again I will be coming back to pick up the first phone I paid for. Well OMG. What a headache. Till now I am still fighting to get the phone. I spoke with the managers, no help. I spoke with corporate, no help. Now I am trying to get regional and district manager name and number and they state they don't know their names or have their number. The store on Harlem and Irving is the worst. The only negative I have regarding my transaction with Best Buy has nothing to do with the associate. 2 years ago when I purchased my Zagg smudge screen, the associate put the screen saver on my iPad for no charge. Went in today to purchase a Zagg Invisible Shield for my husband’s iPad Air. We were told there would be a $14.00 charge to provide this service. I am very disappointed that Best Buy is now charging to provide this service. I paid $50.00 for the Invisible Shield and I would like to believe that there would be no charge for the 5 minutes it took the associate to put the screen saver on the iPad Air. I could understand if we had purchased the Screen Saver at some other location and brought it in to have it put on, but the screen saver was purchased at the store.

Customer satisfaction. What is it and where has it gone? Oh that’s right. It went online. As a diehard techie I am finding myself spending money on gadgets more than I should, but where do I shop? I don't mind paying a little more just to receive excellent customer service, lately its Amazon and Google Play that has given me the best service. When I have a question, they listen and answer and some times check up on you after the conversation. That is service! Recently I decided to give my old favorite store another chance (mainly because they were the only ones selling my item). So I happily went into the Best Buy store here in Austin Texas and asked someone for assistance. I already knew what I wanted and knew everything about the device, so I only needed information regarding next shipment and availability. Never did I expect what was coming.
I asked the LP (guys in yellow by the front) to check the system for me. He was nice and checked it and even gave me the direct line to the podium and when to call back, customer service at its finest. So I called back when instructed to, only to have some angry person pick up and argue with me that he did not give me the number. So naturally the most important thing here is to get to the bottom of who gave me the number and info. I was like what ever, he may have been under the influence, I will let it slide. So I decided to avoid another uncomfortable call and go into the store. I tried to find a salesperson (not hard to find as they all have blue shirts), but it seems that they were all busy running in a circle or something as they could not help me. I asked the LP guy to find me a salesperson to help me out. He said, "No problem just wait over there, and I'll have someone here shortly." He did not ask what I wanted or anything, but in his defense he was in an interesting conversation with his friend and did not want to be bothered.
10 minutes later someone arrives, and I ask him to see if there are any items in the back, and if I can get a better view of the item on display. He had to leave to find out, as I stood there no one asked me if I needed help as they passed by and trust me I looked like I needed help. Already disappointed by the service, I continued to wait. Finally he returns with a NO and NO, “we can’t do that” and “we don't know when more will be here” and walks off. I did not leave very happy, instead they wasted over an hour of my day. So another day I vowed to ONLY call and not show up at the store as I didn't leave very happy last time. I called and was on hold for about 20 minutes before the phone was transferred to someone who just ended the call without saying a word. As a techie I was thinking their phone system has a glitch, but I called again and again and same result. Maybe they wanted to leave early, who knows but I would never return to the store unless it’s unavoidable.
Then one night I found they had it online (for a brief 15 minutes), so I purchased it and upgraded for expedited shipping. Needless to say I still haven't received the device... 2nd day air, I don't think so. My Amazon order that was placed the following day has already arrived... I wonder where I’m going to purchase my gadgets from next, here is a hint it will never be Best Buy.

I recently purchased an R-S201 receiver and a pair Yamaha speakers from Best Buy in Lafayette, LA. I asked the salesperson if these speakers would work with this receiver - of course he swore they would! Well guess what - according to Yamaha they WILL NOT! Best Buy - you should know better! Read the damning series of events below. You just lost a customer.
Yamaha, you guys need to contact Best Buy and set them straight. Their online chat help service (whatever) swears up & down that the 6 ohm speakers will work. I already took it upon myself to return the two Yamaha speakers and purchased two JBL 8 ohm speakers and when I did the folks at Best Buy gave me grief about the swap - again swearing that the 6 ohms would work. This is not the first time I have had trouble with BB and I am definitely an ex-BB-customer.
ALSO, if the impedance is that important why not put the number of ohms for the speakers on the damn box? I mean how stupid! You put the ohms on the box for the receiver but not the box for the speaker? In BB defense how-the-hell is the consumer supposed to know without opening the box in the store and reading the instructions packed inside the box! Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid... Also, if you read the blogs regarding the performance of the Yamaha speakers the major complaint is that they lack bass which is exactly what happens when you attach 6 ohm speakers to an 8 ohm minimum receiver. Again, Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid...

So I wanted to buy a 50 inch tv on sale from the store around 9pm, but there was a problem with my bank card so I had to contact my bank to fix it. By the time I was done they were closed, so I had to come back the following morning which I did and the tv was back at the original price. I called 1800 Best Buy and kept talking to them for 2 hours. They finally found me an open box 55" Samsung tv for the same price, so I paid for it and when I went to the store they told me that they don't have the tv after the lady on the phone confirmed that the tv is ready for the pick up. When I called 1800 Best Buy again to complain they gave me a case number and nobody called me back as they promised.

On Dec 1, 2014, I ordered a Sony headphone and a micro SD card at BestBuy.com. It was a Cyber Monday deal and the headphone was on sale at BestBuy.com for $99.99 - Sony Extra Bass OvertheEar Bluetooth Headphones, MODEL: MDRXB950BT, SKU: 8618136. The order was processed and I received confirmation email from BestBuy.com. However, 2 days later on Dec 3rd, I received an email from BestBuy.com to tell me that the item (Sony headphone) was cancelled. My initial reaction was it must be out of stock. If that is the case, it could be normal.
As I was curious, I went to BestBuy.com to view this headphone. To my surprise, this Sony Extra Bass OvertheEar Bluetooth Headphones (MODEL: MDRXB950BT, SKU: 8618136) is still available at BestBuy.com for $199.99. In other words, my order on Dec 1st for $99.99 was cancelled on Dec 3rd, while the same item is still being sold as in stock item for $199.99 on Dec 3rd. I did call BestBuy.com to make an inquiry. First call took 20 min wait time before I got disconnected. Second call took the 15 min wait time until someone explained the headphone “is” not available in my region. Then I asked how could a customer knows if an item sold by Best Buy is restricted by region. The answer from Best Buy was it is a discontinued item and they followed that practice.
Still, a customer would not know if an item is being discontinued and region specific. Besides, Best Buy does not disclose those information. Best Buy did suggest me to make the purchase again (for $199.99 instead of $99.99). Yet Best Buy said there is no guarantee the order won't be cancelled again. I said "No, Thank you!"

On September 30, 2014 I went to best buy looking for a good deal on a television. I did research online so I knew that Samsung 55 inch television was on sale. I was only going to look around when the sales representative at the Scarborough Town Centre location convinced me to buy the television that same day and put it on a best buy card. The sales rep lied and told me that the credit card had a interest rate of 19.99 percent. When I received the card in the mail after I applied for it I realized the card was really 29.90 percent. I was so upset because I would have never applied for it if I was aware that it. So because I just moved and was planning to paint my walls in the condo I didn't take the television out of the box until November 22, 2014. When I did I realized that the television was damaged. Now when I bought the tv the best buy rep convinced me to get the Geek squad service. Which I paid 209.99 for 4 years extended warranty.
When I called them they said I was not registered with their service and told me to bring my 55 inch tv back to the store. I had to pay someone to come bring the tv from my condo back to the Scarborough Town Centre location where I spoke to the store manager and the manager of sales - both of them told me there is absolutely nothing they can do for me. l feel like Best Buy has robbed me for my money. About 2:30 p.m. central time, my husband and I visited the Best Buy in Jackson, TN. We chose to make this visit due to a commercial ad that we saw on television the previous night (Saturday). The items that we were interested in (3 as a matter of fact) was a Samsung Galaxy S5. The ad that we saw on television aired was $0 down and $1.00 price per phone with a new 2-year activation or upgrade.
When we entered the store we visited the display area where the Samsung Galaxy S5 was located. The signs on the product still had the "sale price" as was advertised. The associate was very friendly and asked to help us. I stated that I was interested in the Galaxy S5. This associate had to program another customer’s phone and sent another associate to assist us. We went back to the display to look at the phone, stating that we had seen the ad on television the night before. The associate then told us that the phones were $99.00, I then showed her the pricing was still the same as advertised on the display and there was no end date on the signs. Then she stated that the "sale" had gone "off" the previous day. She stated that she had to speak to a manager about the advertise signs that were still on the product.
At that time the manager came over and pulled ALL of the pricing signs off of that display. He stood there punching on his hand scanner, having to restart it. I asked him if he was the manager on duty and he responded, yes. When he got the scanner back on he said that the sale had gone off on Saturday. I explained that we had seen the ad on the previous night (Saturday) and the signs on the displays were the same as the advertisement. I asked him if he was going to honor the prices that were clearly on the display and that there was no expiration date on them. He rudely told me that he would NOT honor that pricing.
At that point I was furious and told him that he just lost my business and walked out of the store. There was absolutely no effort on his part to even try to accommodate me as a customer. I understand that sales expire but with no expiration date on the display and the way that the manager handled himself was about the rudest that I have ever been treated in my life!

I have been purchasing through Bestbuy.com (online) ever since online shopping existed. Most of my online purchases had been small items (DVDs, small appliance etc.) until this point, and I had never noticed their online billing procedure of "authorization hold" and "actual charge" to credit/debit cards (double charge). This year, I purchased a laptop computer during their Black Friday sale from their website, and I immediately noticed my debit card was charged twice ($1500 x 2 times = total of $3000). At this point, I already had picked up my laptop at my local Best Buy store and the purchase has been completed.
I contacted Best Buy consumer service regarding the double charges. They explained to me that the first $1500 was for "authorization hold" and the second $1500 was for "actual charge for my purchase". As I ask the customer service agent to release my authorization hold amount of $1500, she told me that it will be EVENTUALLY refunded to my debit card account; however, she won't be able to tell when the refund will happen but typically the authorization hold will be lifted after 48 hours for the specific department to receive the case then 4 to 5 business days for them to investigate and issue the refund (6 to 7 business day plus). We spoke to 6 different customer service agents from BestBuy.com after they transferred us to one after another multiple times trying to resolve issue regarding double charged amount.
As Christmas approaching less than a month, plus we had just returned from Thanksgiving trip out of state put us out of money for grocery for holiday gifts, it was nightmare of holiday shopping experience. I will NEVER EVER shop anything online from Best Buy for their unethical charging policy. I can't imagine how they can get away with double charging the purchases and not have to release the fund for unspecified period legally. I would rather spend my money elsewhere for holiday shopping once or if we get our $1500 back from Best Buy before Christmas.

On Black Friday there was a DSLR camera price listed for $599.99 in store. When I asked the sales rep and his manager they both checked and said they have it in stock and started billing the product. They suddenly realized something and went to the General Manager of the store and few minutes later GM came to us and told that it is not in stock. His body language and tone was not professional at all and started talking to us as if he is so much frustrated. He said, "Go online and order yourself. Online price was different." So I told him that "you match the price that you have in store or ask store to order and I will wait for few days while the new stock will come in." He denied and started behaving rudely.
We told him that "there are customers around listening to our conversation and that affects your reputation and Best Buy's reputation." He said, "I don't care". Also, we told him that he should not behave like that with us. He said, "So now you will teach me how to behave?" We simply told that "We don't want to teach you but obviously as a customer we don't like to be treated like this." My friend who also wanted to buy the same camera asked him then why is online price different than store? Is it a different store? He replied, "Yes, online is a different store". His body language, gestures and tone were like 16 year old school boy. Obviously, neither professional nor mature. He literally started shouting at us at the end.
He not only embarrassed us in front of other customers but also did not honor the price that was advertised in their own store. If he could have told us that there was typo error and "I apologize I can't give you this price" or something of similar nature with politeness, I could have accepted it as things like that happens. Or could have offered the same product at a cost price, if cost price is higher than what they advertised in store or $25-$50 store credit. Honestly, I don't know whether he was really a manager or just someone walking in the store who stole the manager's badge and came in front of us. Super disappointed with Best Buy. I don't normally write reviews but I want people to know what I probably been experiencing for the last 4 weeks. I bought an LG range 5 years ago along with its 5 year extended warranty. I come home to this stove with the burners on high and they wouldn't shut off. Someone had to be looking over us that day because we didn't leave anything on our range to catch fire where normally we do. After mentally calming myself down thinking of what could have happened, I contacted Future Shop where I have bought it and explained my story and they said my warranty ran out a few months prior and there was nothing they could do and that was completely understandable; however, I just wanted an answer to if this has happened to anyone else and they said I was the first case. I called the manufacturer of my range after this conversation and they informed me that the stove has had a recall on it and that the part was no longer available.
I was never contacted about any recall and now I feel that this mistake could have been disastrous or even deadly. LG did replace my unit with a FULL CREDIT that they were refunding Future Shop and to be passed upon me probably just to satisfy me from calling a lawyer; however, I did need a range and this was going to save me 1700 dollars. I called Future Shop everyday for weeks in regards to this credit and they kept informing me "nothing here yet." Again I would call LG and they assured me that the RA was issued and sent to corporate office of Future Shop in Burnaby. Not getting anywhere with the Future Shop store I decided to call the corporate office and after explaining my story for the 800th time the lady would not let me speak to anyone in the office and that someone will be in contact with me the same day.
IT'S BEEN 5 DAYS and countless calls to them and still no one has called me. As I learned, any credits that manufacturer has sent to Future Shop goes through their corporate office and then is issued to their retail locations. As their customer, do they think it's fine to not have a range for over a month? If this was a problem regarding a sale in store it would have been handled within minutes and with that being said I feel furious. Yesterday I called the retail manager once again and to my surprise she told me that she will bypass corporate and she will exchange my stove for another model of the same value or less.
This confused me because I know I don't have to exchange nothing according to the manufacturer because Future Shop's policy with them is to issue full in-store credits. After I said this to her she went silent for 20-30 seconds and promptly told me to come in and she will issue a gift card for the full amount. Yes very fishy indeed and still no phone call from their head office. I will never do business with this company again nor will I ever buy LG.

Totally useless customer service. I've had a BB credit card since forever, and they make it seem like it's something I should be punished for. Account online only shows last 4 digits of the account... Haven't had an actual plastic card for a while, so I went to request one. They want the security code on the back of the card, to change my address, so they can send me a card. So I guess I'll never be getting an actual card again. Calling their customer service sends you straight to a script-reading rep from India. I can't imagine this company lasting much longer. Their competitors wipe the floor with them.

Two weeks ago, I went to Best Buy in Norwalk, CT to buy some computers I needed for a small business. They did not have the computers in stock so the employee placed an order online for me. I received an Email from Best Buy to come and pick up the computers that I paid for. However when I got to the store I came to a really rude employee Mike. He started yelling at me and waving his arms threateningly. Before me he was also yelling at other people in the store. I understand everybody may have some problems at home, but coming to work you have to leave them behind and you cannot be rude to the customers. I approached him and explained that I have to pick up my online order. He started yelling at me and acting belligerently, and refused to give me my order.
I informed him calmly that I have an important business purchase and I need to pick up an order that I paid almost 3,000 dollars for. I tried to explain that I am an elite plus customer and spend over 40,000 a year at Best Buy. The employee Mike impersonated a store manager when I asked to see his supervisor. I later checked online and discovered that the store manager for this location is James **, not Mike "Pugnacious". I asked to see the store manager and was told that he was in fact the store manager. I informed him once again that this is a very important, time sensitive business purchase. At this point he told me to leave the store, and that he did not have time to deal with me. This sounded very racist, and this sort of treatment might work on illegal immigrants but I am an American citizen and I know my rights.
I believe this was in part because of my accent. I have a noticeable eastern European accent and there are many examples in history of people who hate eastern Europeans, like the **. The service I received that day was horrendous and I was unable to pick up the computers which were very important to my business. I am a very good customer of Best buy and I have never had issues like this before so I was understandably surprised that it happened. Once I left the store, I found other customers who were also treated badly and I asked for their names and phone numbers and I will follow up to get an affidavit from them.

Received an email about a Crock-Pot 4-Quart Slow Cooker for $19.99 today only from Best Buy. My wife was at the Westfield, IN 30 minutes after they opened. No one knew anything about the deal of the day. My wife showed them the email and they looked it up SKU (9999238000050005). The store did not have any in stock and had not sold any for weeks. My wife asked for a rain check or a similar product for the same price, Best Buy would not. I clicked on the product to purchase via online and was out of stock. This is the first time we have taken advantage of these deal but for this incident. Best Buy had no intention of selling this deal and was a "crock" from the beginning. Going with Amazon! I came over to Best Buy on my latest mobile phone purchase because they had the best return/phone coverage program. Best Buy made me choose between two insurance plans one that covered just phone damage plus a deductible at roughly $9 a month or one with ANY manufacturer's defects for $11 a month. Of course I deleted my Sprint insurance because it was ridiculous to pay for two separate insurance programs. A year ago (maybe longer) best buy stopped the free screen replacement and raised their prices, including the deductible price to $150. Being able to go into any Best Buy and have the Geek Squad look at my phone, "professional technicians" who could prevent me from wasting $150 on a cracked phone or something was an easy sell.
My first LG G3 had manufacturer errors within the first month. Man I'm glad I am paying $11 a month! They realized the problems and ordered me another one pronto, got it within a few days. A few weeks ago I noticed other problems with the phone, all manufacturer problems, obviously LG got a little premature on their release, but easy things the company should take back in a heartbeat. Went into the store and they have disbanded any in store relationships. You have any problems, go online, report your problem and send your phone to... LG? Okay. How about my temp. phone? NOPE. Got rid of that too. Guy told me about an alternative, let them place a $250 + tax hold on my card and they will send me another phone in which I will then send my old one back. OKAY!
Considering Sprint charges nothing for MANUFACTURE PROBLEMS because they stand by their product and were offering to replace mine (as an uninsured and not buying through them) for $50, I want to go that way but as a working class citizen and coming out of school with more debt that I should, I don't use credit cards. And I'm not about to call up mom and ask for help here. Best Buy has destroyed any respect I have left for them. Called to cancel my membership and the guy in the Philippines refused to send me to talk to somewhere in America because they don't have anyone in America for the financial department! You want me to give my credit card, personal information (which I gave to ALL 4 of the reps I talked to on the phone) and trust them? YOU'RE kidding. Do what's right, refund all my insurance money, replace my phone and give me back my insurance through Sprint. GFY Best Buy.

After placing the order I receive my confirmation email informing me that it was out of stock and would not be shipped until December 17th. This was unacceptable so I followed the instruction of how to cancel. First I tried online to cancel but that would not work. Then I called customer service right away only to be informed that it was too early to cancel the order and to call back in three hours. I called early after only two hours and was informed that it was too late to cancel the order. The service guys here thoroughly botched the install of my remote start on my brand new car, and totally gave me the runaround when it came to repairs and reimbursement.
Specifically:
(1) They killed my battery with faulty wiring that caused a short and a parasitic drain. IT'S A BRAND NEW HONDA. Batteries don't just go completely dead on these cars without warning -- that is, unless an incompetent at Best Buy has touched it. When my trusted technician checked the battery, he confirmed that this was a direct cause of the improperly installed remote start. Best Buy said "OK just bring documentation to prove that and we'll reimburse you for the battery" -- apparently assuming I didn't have that documentation, because they were visibly surprised when I showed it to them. Suddenly the reimbursement rules changed. I've got to file a claim and wait who knows how long now.
(2) Also due to faulty installation, the remote start wouldn't even start half the time, and the other half it would run for a few minutes, shut off, restart, run for a few minutes, shut off, restart... You get the idea. When they told me they'd corrected this issue at Best Buy, I'm glad I second-guessed them and stuck around for a bit because the issue immediately replicated itself. And it happened 6 or 7 more times while they were looking at it, dumbfounded, when one of the guys even said "I've never done one of these before so I don't know how it works" (he's the one who promised it was fixed, by the way). So they re-set my tachometer in order to fix that issue (which screwed up my mpg tracking and trip odometer) and I'm really hoping it's really fixed.
So anyway, I have no clue if this thing is actually going to work the next time I use it, if my car will even start at all, if the battery will be completely ruined again, or if any other problems will present themselves. I wouldn't be surprised. I'm sick at the thought of losing tons of money at my eventual trade-in for all the wiring and electrical problems, not to mention the fact that the starter itself may very well be fried by then too.
**But it's not the money so much as the principle, and I'm going to win this stupid battle against incompetence and horrible customer service!** I am clearly still entitled to at least a $121.70 reimbursement for the battery. And I will be requesting $267.84 more (and a free un-installation) for the remote start itself if it can't be repaired. I hope they didn't break anything else on my car, but I'll be entitled to and requesting more if they did obviously.

We set up installation for the products to be stacked and hooked up, we purchased a vent as well if we decided to have the dryer vent from the other side. These ** hooked up our dyer with the old vent and said it was actually better and to return the old one and hooked up all our water lines and everything necessary for our washer machine and stated everything was ready for proper use all we needed to do was get an outlet. Awesome right? So in my nesting phase I've been cleaning like a nut and decided to clean all the baby blankets and clothes....didn't get that far... I turned it on walked upstairs for maybe 20 mins and came downstairs to a ** lake throughout my laundry room, bathroom, and closet! They NEVER PUT THE DRAINAGE INTO THE PIPE IN THE WALL! THESE ** HATS LEFT IT BEHIND THE WASHER TO JUST DISCHARGE WATER!!!
Now my extremely pissed off pregnant ** has to grab a bunch of towels since my husband wasn't home at the time to attempt to dry my ** floor and OF COURSE I took pics beforehand I'm not stupid. Anyways I call best buy who puts me to three other people before giving me to claims. Mind you they ALSO hauled away my washer and dryer that we were still using and brought it back dented, broken, scratched, and with a busted panel when we specifically put in the paperwork drop off only. Continuing with the claims department I get tim ** who is as rude as they come. I've been hung up on, screamed at, treated as a child, talked down to, talked over, left out of the loop, and told varies different things about how this claims works. Now I'm being told that Abraham the "manager" (WHO IS EVEN WORSE OF A PERSON) at best buy who has been lying continuously back and forth in emails about how they never hooked it up my father did. Who isn't even a ** plumber!!! That man is also a disgusting excuse of a human being as well screaming at me for his workers' fault who also claim now that they never even hooked up the machine, they just dropped it off, stacked it and left.
I am currently working on a stress lawsuit against Abraham, best buy and best buy claims being this pregnant with a back and forth of lies, disrespect, and drawn out process so they don't have to pay for their wrongdoing and water damage to my house. FUNNY how we have been told that best buy gets claims to look at for this exact same thing twice a week for fridges and washer machines. They're all a bunch of ** and morons who can't do a simple task and won't take responsibility for it. I've been getting pains and sick over this! It's so simple to me you ** up you pay for it there no "tell them we didn't hook it up" ** . DONT LIE! OWN UP TO YOUR MISTAKE! Also tim ** just told me they are for best buy so they will be taking their statements and this has to get resolved in 30 days or I have the option of going through my insurance for my house... is this a ** joke? So you're telling me you'll all drag your feet for another three weeks and be like "Oops sorry were at our mark?" This is unacceptable! Caught the sale for stoves this weekend. Bought a great stove, good deal. Delivery is free and they will haul away the old for free. Delivery happens on time, driver comes to unhook stove and says the slight rusting on the connectors does not allow him to disconnect it. He will have to leave old stove connected and can leave new stove with me or take it back. Installers they are supposed to be, but he says he's not allowed to touch gas line as it might be dangerous. Says he can come back later to pick up old stove another time (sure).
I go outside and notice the truck says UHAUL.... Is this for real? Rented truck for company as big as Best Buy? Look as they unload stove in rain... and then he yells out to me.... "Stove damaged, two big dents in sides... You want it or take it back?" I say "no, I cannot accept it." They load it back into truck that's filled with items that are not delivery items. Turns out Best Buy hires independent company, who in turn hires random guys who rent trucks to deliver our stuff. They get paid by the load, so it's double for them when you say no delivery and they have to come back.
Funny how those two dents were right where you would kick the machine if you were making it fit into an already stuffed truck. After they leave, I get a call from the delivery company they outsource to, and they offer me a gift card to accept the damaged item. WTF????? Called manager, he offered me 100 credit and will order new item...not sure I want to take the chance, miss another day from work waiting only to have movers from hell as my delivery guys. Can't cook for my family at Thanksgiving now because I needed the stove to do it. :(

Despite what your eyes tell you and if you get in store service, what the sales staff tell you, Best Buy is just a warehouse. When you walk out with a product you bought from Best Buy you are on your own. I bought an appliance at Best Buy that needed service. Naturally we called Best Buy. Their repair staff, and I use that term loosely, literally made 6 trips to my house and all that time no use of the appliance. Finally their 800# told us they would send someone out who would help us contact the manufacturer and work out an exchange. Best Buy didn't show up for that appointment, nor did they call to reschedule or explain. They couldn't fix the unit and left us out to dry. In fact, out right lied and apparently think nothing of that type of behavior, even at the top management.
Despite several sites like this one where Best Buy has terrible feedback they manage a A rating with the BBB which now shows me even the BBB can't be trusted. For more evidence I filed a complaint with the BBB in which Best Buy did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. The first time I've ever had a company just give me the middle finger on a BBB complaint. One of the occasions while waiting for a repair we received 3 boxes of parts for the unit, the day comes the repair guy shows up, he looks at the machine, says "try using baking soda", turns on the machine and leaves before making sure it will work. He says call him if it don't, and it didn't. So we call the next day, he says he needs to order a part. Really? He leaves with 3 boxes of parts, he replaced nothing and he still needs to order a part? So I had to deal directly with the manufacturer. They sent someone out to fix the unit. This was recent so I'm not sure if the story end here or not.
I also filed a complaint with my state's attorney as I told "customer care" I would after their rejection via the BBB. Some complaints here speak of the sales staff and management treating them badly. It's like this because they have nothing to fear. The mentality and behavior is straight from corporate as you will see if you bother contacting them. Best Buy is nationwide and simply does not care how they treat their customers. Apparently they have the "too big to fail" mentality.

My son and daughter had their phones and battery replaced under this plan so I know it was valid. 2 weeks ago an accident required an almost new LG G3 to need replacing. When we went to BB we were told 2-3 weeks ago the plan changed. We now have to wait 5-7 business days for advanced replacement, pay $150 deductible, and $268 advanced replacement refundable fee. I argued with every powerless person at the store. They could not help me, because corporate took all control for overrides out of their hands. Fraud! You can not change the terms of a contract without notice. So we paid and waited. Today the new (refurbished) phone arrives only to not charge. Went back to exchange, Customer service person name mike said, There is one here to help you. Everyone at store extremely busy. Take your refund and that's best we can do at this time." My wife told him this is very rude. He told her he tries to help but he didn't sale this Ipad so don't blame me for this. We came back, we felt very much insulted at the store. I will never go to buy anything from that store.

Last Thursday (Oct. 30th) the screen on my Samsung Galaxy S5 turned black and would not turn back on. Everything on the phone worked perfectly fine besides the screen. I took my phone up to Best Buy that day and I was given a paper and was told that Best Buy no longer fixes phones through the store and to log onto the Geek Squad website so I could send it off. I thought it would be an easy fix. That night I got online to send the phone off and the Geek Squad website told me to check my email for a verification code. Instead of a code I was sent an email that told me "I was too cool for this phone" and to contact a number they posted. I contacted that number and the operator told me that I was NOT added under the insurance that I had most definitely got when I had bought the phone not even a full 3 months ago.
The operator told me to go back to the store and they would fix the problem then call them back. I went back to the store and they supposedly fixed the miscommunication for me. So last night I called the Geek Squad number back so I could finally get some kind of phone. The operator told me that there were two phones under the protection plan (which I was already aware of) but only one of them got added to the protection plan when I clearly asked for BOTH of them to be added. Then I was told that I will have to go back to the Wilson Best Buy store and make them yet AGAIN fix what they messed up. I am HIGHLY DISSATISFIED with what has happened and do NOT recommend going to buy your phone through Best Buy. I find it ridiculous that tomorrow makes a week since this has happened and not a thing has been done about it.

CAUTION: Under no circumstances attempt to purchase Apple products on Bestbuy.com and DO NOT use Best Buy gift cards to complete the transaction. Your Gift Cards will be debited and order will not go thru. As per Best Buy Gift Card Rep, this is a "known issue" (mind it, customers are not aware), this is ongoing for longest time and apparently Best Buy has done nothing to fix it. I tried to purchase Apple iPad Air 2. My GCs were debited and order never went thru. Called the Toll free # and was advised to wait for 24 hours and the GCs will be credited. 24+ hours later my GCs have 0 value and I can't buy the iPad.
Spoke to several reps and got different responses, stating "wait for 24 hours. If that doesn't work out, we will take care of you." 2nd Rep, "it never takes 24 hours," "we can reissue the GCs but that will take 7-9 business days". Imagine your bank wipes your account and tells you you have to wait 7-9 days for them to correct their mistake. Now reverse the position. You owe them $300 and you are late by 7 days. They will slam you with late fee and finance charges to the tune of 20-30% of actual amount. 3rd Rep wanted to know how I got the Gift Card and what is the proof of purchase? Gift Cards are often given as gift and the recipient in almost all cases won't have the BBY order # and that's their way of slamming the door on you so you can go away and forget about that money.
To my amazement, 3rd rep could read the comments from previous 2 reps and could see under my member ID that I tried to make the purchase with those GCs. I gave her my order # to that she was quick to respond to reach out to the vendor and find out what is the BBY#. How is it fair that they have a flaw in check out process, they are totally aware of this for longest time and don't have fix or solution to quickly refund the card? Best Buy eCommerce team should insert the logic: If Product Make + Apple Hide or grey out GC option and/or add a Warning advising Best Buy Online customer of the flaw, so they don't proceed in the first place. I know I would have stopped in my tracks and would have made an in-store purchase instead.
Bottom Line: If you have BBY Gift Cards make your LAST in-store purchase and never ever give BBY GCs to your loved ones. BestBuy GCs make a perfect gift for someone you dislike and want them to go thru agony and frustration. There ought to be a law to protect consumers from such flawed, fraudulent process. 2 days and counting and I am still waiting for my refund for the order that never materialized.

We purchased a LG fridge three years ago. Been having problems with the door chime keep coming on. Was told to clean the seal. Next wax the seals. Same thing they made an appointment to have some one here on Wednesday 11-5-2014. Shop called, said ok, between 11:00am and 1:00pm got a call on Monday from the repair people saying they can't make it till next Monday. Checked the company out on the web, very bad yelp reports. They also have major problems with their state license and numerous consumer complaints. They were canceled by Best Buy because I told BB I don't want them. Still waiting for BB to get back to me with another appoint we a better repair company.
It has been 4 days and no call. Called a few times, was told they are working on it. Their geek customer service is none. And to think this past September we spent another $1700 on a new range and microwave from them with their extended warranty. Trying to cancel those warranties but was told they have to see what they can do. Will not buy anything more from Best Buy. Am sorry we bought from them for we also had problems when purchasing.

I went to return a collectors edition of the PlayStation 3 video game "Destiny" in the same condition I had bought it in at the Northridge, CA. store #1180 and was treated like a crook! Even though I am a My Best Buy Elite Plus member, which apparently means nothing to the store manager! The game comes in a big cardboard paper box with a lid that is only secured by a paper sleeve with a clear round sticker on the bottom. I had pre-ordered an extra copy for a friend at another Best Buy location (Sherman Oak's, CA.) as to they were only available via pre-order. When I picked up the extra copy at the Sherman Oaks, CA. Best Buy, the corner of the box's lid was torn and there was ONLY ONE clear seal sticker on the bottom attached to the sleeve cover. I asked the associate about this but, they said that a lot of them came this way and since it's is the last one they have, there is nothing they can do about it. I asked if they could discount it but they said the manager had already told other customers there would be no discount!
The CSR (**) I dealt with was very adamant about it. I asked ** to write her name down so I had her as a witness's to the state the box is in when I call corporate to let them know but, she became belligerent and said she would NOT write her name on anything and that I would have to write it down myself! At that point I asked to speak to a Manager and the Geek Squad manager came over. His name was (**) and he was more professional but he said that there's nothing he can do. He gave me a store Business card and wrote his name at the bottom. So, I wrote down ** name also for reference. Then when I was ready to pay she kept giving me attitude and asked if I wanted someone else to help me and I said "Actually I would since you're not being very helpful".
So, she said to the CSR to her right to finish helping me and snarled off giving me a dirty look to go do some other things. The other CSR (**) was more friendly and finished ringing up my $150+tax purchase. So, after all this my friend later decides he rather have the PS4 version. So, I end up going to the closer Best Buy to me in Northridge to do the return. Well this is where the nightmare occurs!
When I put the game on the customer service counter to be returned, the CSR (**) decides to slide the sleeve off and opens up the game! I am thinking why is she opening this collectors edition of the game? Now they can't resell it! So, she opens the lid then decides to hand off my return to another CSR. He looks through everything and I tell him it's never been open. He looks over at her and asked her "was it open" and she nods and says "yes" then she hides in the back of customer service. So, he tells me that they can't return an open game. I told him it was sealed when I brought it in and she opened it! So, he says he has to call a manager now. So, after waiting for a while he says Manager ** is coming. At this point the store had been closed for like 15 mins. Finally Best Buy Northridge, CA store #1180 Operations Manager ** shows up. He takes one look at the open box with the slight tear in the lids corner and says with an attitude, "I'm not taking this back"! I told him that's the way it was sold to me! He says, "we can't take back this game in that condition plus it's opened!" I told him that it was sealed when I brought it in and his representative had opened it.
He looked at the seal and said, "it is suppose to have two seals, one on each side!" I told him that's the way they sold it to me at the Sherman Oaks store. Then he said, "do you have the receipt?" I said yes then he said, "take it back there!" I said, "how am I supposed to return it to another store now that your store open it?" He then goes on to say "I don't believe it was not open!" basically accusing me of lying about it being unopened and trying to return an open game. He says "it should have two seals and this one looks Scussy!" I said, "Look at your security recording, you can see that your employee opened it." At that point he says I am not going to take it back and I'm done talking about it. He drops his card on the counter and says "call 1(800) Best Buy if you have a problem! I have a store to close" and starts to walk away back towards the front door. I said this is fraud! Then he starts to mock me in a Childish schoolyard voice "Oh, it's Fraud! Haha!" Then I said I will never shop at this store again! And he said, "Oh good! Please do me a favor and don't ever shop at My store again!"
Then he goes on to say, "You always hassles us anyway!" I was so appalled I just packed up my stuff and left insulted and upset as ** and his coworkers mocked me standing by the front door as I left with my now opened game! I had dealt with Operations Manager ** months ago when a game I had preordered never came in and his only option was to cancel my preorder and lose my Preorder Bonus! How on earth does he have the gall to accuse me of hassling him when all he has done is Hassle me! I guess if you ask for a Manager when there is a problem at his store you are a "Hassling Customer"?
Needless to say I will be contacting Best Buy corporate about this incident and I suggest anybody else who shops at the Northridge, CA. Best Buy avoid Manager ** as he is very unprofessional!

I wanted to pay off my new laptop quickly so I've been paying ahead. During a short period that I couldn't pay exactly on time because of waiting for financial aid (university student), I acquired a $25 late fee. Shortly afterwards I sent $400 to pay the late fee and (thinking) I would pay a large chunk of the laptop balance. But instead, rather it’s the bank or BB, or both, they would not take the $25 late fee out of the $400 making me pay an additional $25. Yet on the billing statement outline of where my $400 went it clearly shows that they (whether the bank BB deals with or BB itself) took $25 out of the $400 for the late payment. Nevertheless, I paid the $25 late fee over the phone which my newest billing statement shows. So, with the $500 that I have paid into the balance plus the $25 late fee, out of a $1000 initial balance, I'm still stuck with $525.
I just sent a $35 check today for the monthly payment. I have all my payment receipts and statements. I'm watching BB. In addition, BB has failed to put the monthly minimum amount on my first three pay statements. With each payment period I was expecting a 'minimum payment' on the payment statement. Only this month (November) has BB put the minimum payment on the statement after I had a lengthy conversation with them about both of these matters. In all, I believe that I am/was being penalized just for the fact that I wanted to pay my laptop off quickly when all that BB and/or their bank wants me to only pay by the month. Simply for the fact that they can't take $25 out of $400 or even take that $400 for each month and make me continue to pay each month, like I had never even paid the $400. If paying in advance isn't the real option, don't tell your customers that they can and everything will be fine.

I was looking to buy a tv from Best Buy that was open box. After numerous calls and being told by workers at Best Buy when asking to speak with a manager I was told they are closing in 30 minutes and to call back the next day! A few days later my fiance and I went into the store and was told the tv was not for sale, that they never had one, that online was wrong. So we ended up buying one brand new. We did not have a truck so we had it delivered. They delivered it a few days later. We unboxed it, set it up and went out of town for a couple days. When we got back we were finally able to use it only to find the screen had white pixels on the bottom left. I immediately called and told them which was on a Thursday. I was told they could not bring one till next Wednesday, which I agreed to. I was also asked to please rebox the 70" tv.
Later that night we found out the upgraded model was only $100 more so we decided to ask to change it to the upgraded model. We were told we would have to pay another $2000 if we wanted the tv since we would not get the refund until they picked it up between 7am and 7pm on Wednesday. We asked if they would still honor the price the next week since the sale ended that Sunday, which of course they said no. On that Monday we called and cancelled our order. We just wanted to return the tv and get our credit back on our credit card. They assured us that it was cancelled and they would still be picking it up. Wednesday was our day off. We waited there all day until 7pm and no one showed up! I immediately called the BB location we bought the tv and spoke with a manager who was very nice and apologized up and down and assured he would figure out what happened and was upset that he lost our business because Best Buy online would not "play ball" on the price. He said he would call back.
He returned with a phone call 15 minutes later saying he apologized again and said "I know this is a dumb question. But, do you even have a tv of ours because we don't show we have even delivered it...." Seriously!?!? Again, he said he would get to the bottom of it and have someone come pick it up... He said he would call the next day... I waited for his call... No call. I called Best Buy, he already left. I called the next 5 days and he was either off that day or already left. Every time leaving a message with no return call. I finally spoke with another manager who had someone out the next day to pick it up... It's been 4 days since then and my card still shows the charges... Let's see if they actually return it. Best Buy... Seriously we got a credit card with you just for this tv. And now we want to destroy this card to never have to think about getting anything with you again.... So disappointing.

Best buy #369 sold me a $50 gift card to pre-order a 64gb iPhone 6 plus from at&t. When my receipt printed out I noticed that the pre-order was for an iPhone 6, not the plus. The sales associate Alex got his manager Maria who said she can't refund a gift card even though they admitted it was their fault and the best she can do is call me as soon as a 6 plus comes in. I wait 2 weeks and no call so I go in and see that she doesn't even have my phone number. I give her my number and go on my way.
A month later (today) I go in and don't see Maria but ask if they have 6 plus anyway. The sales associate tells me yes they have the exact model I wanted. I was furious I asked why Maria or someone else didn't call me and they informed me that Maria no longer works at store number 369 and she has been promoted. Now I am stuck with a $50 best buy gift card that is worthless to me and the Maria who lies to customers gets a promotion when she has absolutely zero customer service expertise.

Best buy store located in 3209 E Central Texas Expy, Killeen, TX 76543, phone number: (254) 680-4040 is my most shopping place and many times I enter the store to ask one of the salespeople for help and I find they have no knowledge of what they sale which leads me to go to the internet to study my question and some time I start purchase my items through Amazon and other web pages, which I do not like for the fact I prefer to have service within my reach even if I pay more.
For the last 6 years I start to find that the service department in Best buy become more unknowledgeable in what they fix, or they tell us to send the item to the manufacture which defeat the purpose of having service department to what we buy from best buy, which let me to start purchase more and more through the internet if I feel they have not much knowledge of the item. Also many items we were informed wrongly and made us return the items to best buy, don't forget it's more lose to best buy. Today was different I could not believe my ear to what happened and this is what happened:
I walked to purchase a Canon professional camera. I asked for help in the camera section and they told me someone will be with me shortly. It took 10 minute while I am reading and educating myself in cameras before a lady passed by holding paper and said, "I will be with you once I finish the customer in my hand." "Ok," I responded. Another 10 minute passed by before a gentleman from the phone department I think came and said, "Can I help you?" "Yes I need to ask few question regarding canon cameras, and be sure all what I need before paying this high dollar in a camera." "Sure," he responded. I said, "I need to understand the different between EF lenses and IS lenses, and well EF lenses fits to IS cameras (and I pointed to the one I am interested in worth a $999.99 camera which is not cheap!!)." He looks and said, "Not sure as the one is in this department (referring to camera Department) off today, but I am sure it does not." I said, "look here but this one has an EF lens and hooked to an IS camera, anyhow what IS camera stand for." He said, "I do not know but it will fit." I said, "Sir you just said it will not fit! It will fit or not?" Out of blue he got mad and start to walk away as he is saying, "You pissing me off, I will get you someone." "Excuse me please come back," I said. And he walked away mad.
I went to the manager and the manager all what did is sorry and came to help me, as the manager trying to wrap the situation, answering my question I asked in the middle: "So which cannon best in connectivity?" "No Cannon from these has connectivity," Manager responded. So I pointed to two piece and said, "What about this read the specification," As the manager read, "Oh I did not know that," manager responded. So even the manager had no knowledge much, of course by then no apology, nor any action was taken or given to me, so I said, "Well, I will go do my homework, but I need an apology."
If best buy reached this level of customer service I am sure people across the nation will be happy to read such reviews and stories about this bad service and no apology, or not good training to their people. I send an email to customer service at best buy headquarters which they apologized and said that: "I have also forwarded your email to the store leadership for further assistance. They will get in contact with you via email or phone shortly." This was more than 5 days ago on October 25th, and so far no phone nor apology from the individual was made.

After 'best buy" charged my credit card they sent me an e-mail stating they cannot deliver on the 28th and to call to reschedule. Wife called "best buy" stated they did not have 50% of our order in stock. We asked when will it be delivered and they told us they had no idea and to call the warehouse the next day.
Next day I called customer service and was put on hold 3 times and after 23 min was hung up on. Called corporate office expressing my displeasure/dismay regarding "best buy’s" customer service. I got a call from my credit card Co. next day after I placed my order saying that somebody approached from future shop as my address is not matching with billing details.
MY ACTION, I immediately updated it and it is there as well on my credit card co.'s system. YOUR ACTION, False promises since last FOUR days saying that somebody will contact me from your side. Is this some kind of joke? I paid to get things online, why? Because I live in a small town, the nearest future shop is 150 kms away. I work almost 7 days a week. That reflects how much less time I do have for leisure and on top of that, I have been occupied with follow-up on my order.
I paid, my credit card co. is ready to process the order, then what is holding you? I am sure again I will get another 24-hour story and what choice do I have? Not posted anywhere is that if you make a purchase with a best buy gift card, YOU DO NOT GET ANY MEMBER POINTS. The trick is if you buy let's say a video game for the Xbox. But when you take it back unopened bought online, to get it exchanged for the PlayStation version, here is where the game starts. The store puts the refund on a Best Buy gift card. Guess what? They take the points away, they already gave you for the original purchase and because they put your refund on a gift card. Like I said at the start, they don't give any points or any bonus rewards for the purchase with the gift card they just gave you.
Keep in mind I am an elite plus member and I paid 100 a year to get those gamers point Rewards/discounts. See with the gamers unlocked you're supposed to get 10$ on most game and hardware preorders, plus close to another $5 for the 20% game or hardware discount then you add the 20% for being an elite plus member. But it appears in my opinion that Best Buy does whatever they can to not pay out all those points because they're losing money. Then when you complain too much, they assign you to a supposed exec support tech whose job is to argue and beat you down. No one else will talk to you. This is just the tip of the iceberg; I am handicapped, I can't get in the store with it, let alone maneuver around and no consideration at all for handicap. The list goes on and on.
Honestly you're better off going to Amazon, Newegg, GameStop, get the prime with Amazon and even tax and the lower price you get the same deal less hassle or better yet Micro Center blows Best Buy away. I won't buy a pencil from Best Buy again. I am a 35 year computer IT and some of the things I heard from the computer sales and Geek squad to some of the novice and beginners is just sickening. Let's put it this way. If you buy the manufacturer warranty you're much better off. You can get the manufacturer's warranty on just about everything sold at Best just by calling the manufacturer. It's cheaper in most cases and much better. With Microsoft hardware, I always get a minimum 3 day turnaround, Dell is next day in home 3 yrs for the same price as Best Buy. Don't let them talk you into anything. It was a sorry day when we lost COMP USA AND ENDED UP WITH BEST BUY IN MY OPINION.

Had the worst experience at this store today, my son bought a cell phone 5 days ago and noticed today that the camera lens looked broken, we bought the protection plan so I called customer service and they said to take it in, we did. As soon as we got there I noticed two people sitting. A female sitting eating on the floor, later found out her name is Sherry, she refused to look at the receipt, repeated over and over that the phone was dropped and we needed to pay $150 deductible even though customer service said that I was and still am less than 14 day return policy. This woman would not listen to anything I had to say, continued to eat saying “I am the manager, your son dropped the phone”, she must of repeated that several times (even though my 21 year old son did not drop the phone, it’s been in a case since the day he bought it) so I said fine, asked her name and walked out.
I returned to get the phone number and name of the district manager and by then Sherry was another heavier set man and she told me rudely after I asked for the district manager’s name and number and she said to me in a rude tone “I was going to give you the phone number to LG but you can get it yourself.” My response to Sherry was “first of all I do not appreciate lack of professionalism and I will never shop at this location again” and she said “good, get out”. I became upset and by then the REAL manager Jonathan ** spoke up and said “get out of my store and don't come back”. I called customer service, made the report and told them I would be going to the closest Best Buy in Burbank. As soon as I got to the front door, the greeter saw the phone and responded "Oh yeah we got a call you were coming." I thought perhaps customer service called but was I dead wrong.
I went straight to the mobile department and asked to speak with the manager they called, a man named Frank. He was very nice at first and even said he was shocked at the attitude I received at Chicago Ridge Mall. He said he personally knew Jonathan ** the manager and worked with him and trained him at the Tinley Park location, he said he is a good friend. Frank then said “don’t worry I’ll take care of you” and walked me over to the Geek Squad location. He took a while so I peeked to see if he was in the back and noticed him on the phone. After a few minutes his demeanor changed, he told me that my son dropped the phone, although he didn’t and he would not honor an exchange or returns then walked away.
I called customer service, spoke with Kimberly (Very nice & polite representative of Best Buy). She docketed everything I said and wanted to speak with Frank, after having to wait for him for more than 5 minutes he came back and said he didn’t want to speak to anyone and was not going to allow the return/exchange. I placed Kimberly on speaker phone and he snapped at her literally screaming at her saying “I WILL NOT RETURN OR EXCHANGE THE PHONE. THEY DROPPED THE DAMN PHONE”, he would not give Kimberly his last name even though she asked for it, he was very rude to her too and handed the phone back to me as if he had enough! I told him “my son and I never said he dropped the phone, why are you lying?” He told me very loudly “LISTEN I WILL NOT RETURN OR EXCHANGE THE PHONE SO EITHER PAY $150 OR I WILL HAVE YOU THROWN OUT LIKE THEY THREW YOU OUT AT RIDGE, QUIT BEING BELLIGERENT!”
I turned around and noticed customers looking in total horror as if “really this is coming from a worker?” I told him “listen I was never thrown out of Ridge, what is your problem? Do you know what belligerent means?” He screamed at me, “listen lady I do not need an education class from you, you swore earlier”. Then my son told him nicely “she’s not being belligerent, you are being ignorant and belligerent to her”, my son raised his voice because Frank raised his louder so I told my son "do not stoop to his level, let him scream and make a fool out of himself" and as I turned around I noticed a crowd of people staring at him, not me. I still had Kimberly on the phone and told her that this was a living nightmare, she witnessed over the phone the unprofessionalism this man caused me and her. She spoke to her manager and found out that Frank was not even the manager; Shawn ** was and told me to ask around for him, no one could locate him and kept calling Frank, but once Frank would notice me he would walk to the employee door.
Kimberly then told me to go to another store and return it there, she would call and explain what these 3 so called managers put me through and would receive a full return or exchange and was very apologetic. I then went to Ford City Mall and the Assistant Manager Edwin very friendly came up to me as soon as I walked in the store, I explained the situation and he apologized for the managers in Chicago Ridge and told me Sherry wasn’t even a manager. Didn’t know who Frank was and would be more than happy to help me out. He told me that customer service hadn’t called him yet. So we waited for a while and his associate said to call them and have them ok it, by this time I was connected to another person and she read the notes and said that ultimately I had to return the phone to the Chicago Ridge location, it’s really up the manager.
They spoke with the associate and he informed me that if Corporate okays the exchange he would gladly do it. Very nice man, very informative and more than happy to help me. Unlike the two buddies Jonathan ** and Franklin ** who Franklin admitted to me they are good friends (yes after using my legal resources, I found out his real name) the Chicago Ridge manager called Franklin ** and told him not to take the phone back.
I have spent so much money, purchased all my phones through them not from my cell phone company Sprint because in all honesty Best Buy does have better deals and the customer service is outstanding at the Tinley Park and Countryside locations and have taken my elderly parents, grandmother for computers. My brothers have spent money at these locations, because I tell them what a wonderful experience I have had. I am a platinum member and not once was anyone ever rude to me; in fact they have been so nice and very informative if I had a question on a product.
I am in the process of replacing my old laptop and formally purchased at Best Buy of course and now I’m having second thoughts after the horrific attitude and belligerent managers at the Burbank location Store #311 and Chicago Ridge Mall Store #2741. I would like to see that some form of action be taken with these managers and associate Sherry, either have them take an ethics class or retrain them in customer edict. Customer service has detailed accounts of these incidents and I asked to file a complaint, they caused me severe anxiety and embarrassed me not only in front of my 13 year old and 21 year old but other customers. I will be contacting corporate tomorrow as well.

I made an online purchase of 3 items through Best Buy and used the Best Buy Credit Card. I was billed the first day and then two days later one item was delivered to the store and ready for pick up. I picked it up and Best Buy charged my card again, which apparently is common known practice to everyone except the Best Buy Credit people.
I awoke the next morning to fraud warnings and called in and was told to cancel my card with the promise that it wouldn't affect my order. It did and my order was canceled and couldn't be reordered until a new card was physically mailed to me which would take 48 hours before mailing. I was told though I could still make in store purchases with the card without having a physical one.
I found the two items I still needed in a nearby town and drove to purchase them. Upon checkout I was told there was a balance on my card and called the Best Buy Credit Card company and they said I would have to wait 24 hours before making any purchases. So I drove back home empty handed.
I called the next to confirm I could use the card now and was told I couldn't due to Best Buy not refunding my money from the original online purchase. Also due to fraud protection I can't make any purchases for 72 hours. Both all I have gotten from both parties is just “I'm sorry” and a $25 credit. I much rather have my stuff on-time than an extra $25. I was a loyal Best Buy Customer and was excited to use the Best Buy Credit Card and their 12 month financing. This experience has given me serious doubts on how professionally this company is run along with its partners.

Bought my iPhone 4S over 2 years ago. I did not want the Best Buy insurance, but the sales guy convinced me it was the best...and when the battery inevitably gets shoddy: I could get a brand new phone for free. No brainer, right? Wrong. Of course the day before I was going to do the swap, I cracked the screen. No worries, the battery was done...new phone anyways. Wrong. Apparently, even if the phone is being swapped because the battery sucks they will not cover physical damage. This is extortion. They want me to pay to repair a phone that is going straight into the trash bin. You cannot buy an iPhone 4S anymore, even if you want to. Furious, I left the store and bought a new phone out of pocket.
Now they will not cancel my useless insurance for another year. I used to spend a ton of money at Best Buy. They will never see another penny from me or my household. I would like to sue them. I do not have a copy of my original contract...and they refused to provide me with one. Now I have to waste the remainder of my living days telling anyone with ears not to shop at Best Buy. Ripoff!!!!! A stupid consumer mistake I will kick myself for every time I look at my credit card bill for the next year.

The screen start having lines in the beginning and later the screen got all whiteout and I hear clicks even if the TV is turn off. The screen looks fine from outside. I was sold a faulty TV and now they do not replace it.

My Phone screen broke in my pocket and I of course have a protection plan with Best Buy but that did not matter to the geek squad. Really Best Buy, that's how you treat customers. They told me I will have to pay $150.00 to replace my phone. I did not agree and as I was leaving the supervisor at Best Buy told me to ** Off under his breath. I never had this problem before and I have had a phone service plan for years with best buy. What is the protection plan for then!
The S4 costs only 150.00 to replace new. Why would I pay the same price for a phone that I can buy off the shelf for the same price. Especially when I pay 20 a month in phone protection for the last 4 years! I spend thousands of dollars every year for my business to best buy but I will never again. I am in internet marketing and the last thing you want to do is ruin your rep by screwing over good customers. They won't do anything, as they have a 15-day return policy. We spent a lot of money with them - for the last time.

We purchased it with the imperfection already on it but we didn't realize the consequences. A company of this size should stand by their product for at least 30 days. They said that we can't prove that it came like that. Are we supposed to open the box of a product in the store to assure we are not getting a damaged product? I could not believe that a store who sold my grandson a worthless computer would not stand by their product. He had it approximately 3-4 weeks and it went dead. They sent it in to have a new battery put in. Picked up the computer - the screen was cracked. Some young girl blamed it on the way he opened the laptop and said we did it. She said it would cost about $150 to send it in and replace it. When she discovered I wouldn't spend the money for a new computer, she informed me there was nothing wrong with the computer. She was able to get it working. All we needed was to get a cable and he could use the TV. So I bought the recommended cable and went to his home, hooked up the computer to the TV and the message, no signal was all we could get. It was two weeks before I was back in the Waterloo area and could take it back.
Now they tell me that the cable connection doesn't work and that could possibly cost the kid $150 to maybe fix the problem. What happen to "a great connection" and "computer works just fine"? Now the store manager thinks that for another possible $150 they could possibly get it fixed. This is under the manufacturer's warranty and this was not damaged by us in any way shape or form. Now they are trying to blame a 15 yr old kid for all of their blunders.

We had a private installer come to convert the stove to LP. He found that several parts, including two flame spreaders, the griddle, and the wok holder, were missing. The stove had food residue, several dents, and poorly applied paint to cover some damage. The sticker on the door indicated that this "open box" item had no damage and did have all the accessories. This was not the floor model, and appeared as if it been installed for several weeks at someone else's house. We spoke at length with a manager at the store. The second Best Buy representative arranged to have the defective stove returned, and a new one delivered and installed. As a result, we paid an additional $259.98, plus the $150 charge from our private installer. We are extremely dissatisfied with the sale.

Where to start... on a Friday my husband and I decided to take a look at Future Shop for gifts, we thought they were convenient since we had purchased from them before with no problems and they accept PayPal. Ended up ordering three items for about 60 bucks. Got order confirmation in our email, everything seemed fine. Come the Monday, our PayPal still pays pending yet we received multiple emails saying our payment didn't go through. Called Future Shop to see if they knew why. They said the issue was with PayPal. I should mention that it took at least three separate phone calls to get anyone to tell us this. We just kept getting "I don't know".
So contact PayPal. They had a glitch on their site and it tried to put the payment through an expired credit card. Said they've removed the card and things are working fine, re-send our order. So, go on Future Shop’s site, cancel the order on our account, re-shop for everything and place the order. So first, the order seems to be going through normally, but the confirmation page only has the order details and a button to confirm we are ordering with PayPal - nowhere can I see a shipping address. So I assume everything is fine and confirm.
Now the fun starts. I go back to look at the order, and lo and behold it is saying the order is being shipped to an old address in another city located hours away that I haven't lived at in years. Our best guess is that for some strange reason rather than using our shipping address on both the Future Shop and PayPal websites, it switched to the address linked to our bank account on PayPal. Which it has never done before on any site, including Future Shop in the past. So I try clicking change shipping address, says I can't do this at this time. Seems strange, I think to myself that maybe it's a new order so it takes a bit to be able to change things. So I go and check my bank balance to make sure that our previous order didn't come out of our account. And what do I see? Our freshly placed order has come out of our account instantly, not the three to five days later that it normally takes for PayPal to take money out.
So I call Future Shop and relay the problem to them. They say they can't give refunds or change the shipping address of orders that have already been processed. I inform them that the address that it is shipping to is a three hour drive away so I can't just go get it. They say I need to wait for the packages to be returned and then I can get a refund. This could take several weeks, no guarantee that whoever receives the package will ever return it, and in the meantime the gifts that I ordered were for birthdays coming up in a matter of weeks and I didn't have the extra money to go and buy more. So through multiple phone calls, throughout an entire day, we finally got to speak to a manager who "promised" that the one item had been shipped already. So we would have to wait for it to be returned or report a lost item in two to three weeks, but he would call the vendor who has the other two items, and have them cancel the delivery and return our funds to us in our PayPal account within the next few hours.
Fast forward to the next day - still no funds returned to our PayPal. Thought maybe it was taking longer than expected. Figured we would wait until the afternoon before calling them about it. Couple of hours later we get an email that one of our other items shipped! What the heck?? So on the phones with Future Shop again - many, many calls later, talking to supervisors, and repeatedly asking to speak to a manager, we are still waiting. Last call we were told all the managers are out to a business lunch and said they promised they would call back. Don't trust that they will though since yesterday we were told a manager would call us back in an hour and 4-5 hours later we still hadn't gotten a call and had to call them. Who knows what will happen at this point. I can't trust a word Future Shop says. I have been lied to and jerked around for days. All I know is I will never be buying from Future Shop again - worst customer service I have ever seen.

Last year I purchased a new computer and wifi printer. I installed Webroot through their website. When I had to renew the virus protection this year I chose to renew online. It said 4 days left. I renewed and printed the order summary. They charged my card and it said - You are now protected until 5/18/2015. A few days later, I turn on the PC and I keep getting the message IE failed. Also it couldn't communicate with the printer. It said, "Your subscription has expired!" I called GS and she said the computer has a virus!
I said, "How can that be, I got the confirm for another year." She said it didn't activate yet. She said because even though I don't have the GS plan she will help because it happened while installing Webroot. She and the next 6 reps. over the course of about a month tried but couldn't fix it. Each of them said they will help because it happened when I installed Webroot. Then I got the unprofessional, rude Jasmine. She said she will not help me, I had to bring the tower to the store and pay for the Geek Squad plan! I said, "Why do I have to pay? Every other agent said I didn't have to, it happened because your product failed and I have a virus in the computer and unable to use it for over a month."
She said I had to have the plan for them to look at it. I was in the middle of my next question when she just hung up on me! I took the tower to the store. I was told again I had to buy the plan. I asked to speak to the manager. I said, "I want to be sure you understand what happened. I got the confirm the computer was protected but it wasn't, got the virus and now you want me to pay for a plan before you can look at the computer?" He said yes and he was adamant and not going to do this as a courtesy. I got help from Netgear. They got me back online but I still can't use the printer. I am a senior on a fixed income, can't afford a lawyer. But I can never set foot in their store again. Their loss. Hello PC Richard and Staples.

My thinking was that since it took so long for me to get my iPhone 5 when I was the first person in line on the first day to pre-order and it still took 3 weeks to get my phone that it would be the same this time. I was eligible for renewal Oct. 5th. So I was quite surprised when the day before they went on sale I received an email stating that my phone was in and I could pick it up the next day.
I called the next day and explained I was not eligible until Oct 5th but the person on the other line told me I was eligible for a new phone. I asked if they were sure because if I went up there and I wasn't eligible, I was going to be very upset. The following day I received a voicemail saying they were mistaken and I was not eligible for the update just yet. I was however eligible for the AT&T Next upgrade. This is what I think they really wanted to sell me and why they lied to me.
The following day I called the store and was told they could not help me over the phone. So I went up there and waited for well over an hour while they tried to work things out to no avail. Jonathan, the manager on duty at the time wrote down on a piece of paper that they would hold the phone for me until Oct. 5th. So today (Oct. 4th), I called Jonathan and he said the manager, Nick ** had said more would come in and he went ahead and sold the phone.
I accused them of not caring and lying to a long time customer and ** was just silent. Then all he could say is talk to the manager who would be in tomorrow morning. No apology or anything. All this could have been avoided if Best Buy had said from the get go that they could not hold the phone for me. But then again, as I am starting to learn honesty is not Best Buy's policy.

When I gave the cashier my phone number so the sales could be credited to my rewards account, he must have keyed it in wrongly. Another person's name came up. I called 888-237-8289 to verify there was no problem with the name on the account. After verifying my phone number and e-mail address (both current and correct), Robert told me that the account had been closed for inactivity a couple of years ago--a period during which I have made numerous purchases totaling hundreds of dollars.
He said that the cashiers, when they assured me that a purchase would be credited, would have no way of knowing the exact opposite was true--they got no alert. Similarly, I would not have gotten an e-mail to warn me that the account was inactive. The only way for me to know this would be to log onto to the account--even though there would be no other reason to do this. Tyrus, to whom I was referred, confirmed this and said there was no way to recover the lost purchases and, in fact, a new account would have to be created to which I could add the purchases I had just made. I strongly suggested that Best Buy let their cashiers know if an account was inactive or send an e-mail to the account holders. How long does it take BEST BUY to repair something? My ice maker quit (for good) after being on again and off again. Now dead for about 5 weeks. The last report was that I needed a new compressor. Every phone call I have made to BEST BUY Geek Squad has been a different answer. So when does this rodeo stop?
I called BEST BUY Geek Squad Aug. 6th Geek Squad. They could have a local service company here the next day. ABSCO people came on Aug. 7th and said it needs an ice maker and would take a week to get the part. I waited a week and called BEST BUY Geek Squad again and they called ABSCO and said the part was on back order, it will be another week. Then I waited another 9 days and called BEST BUY Geek Squad again and Geek Squad put me on the line with an ABSCO dispatcher who said they will be here the following Tuesday.
On Tuesday no one showed up and no one called here. I do have caller ID and I can receive recorded messages. I waited Wednesday and called BEST BUY Geek Squad again and asked to talk to a supervisor about them not showing up or calling. BEST BUY Geek Squad could not get in touch with ABSCO. I said, if this is the way they do business I do not want them back. Could another repair shop that could come out and service my refrigerator?
So BEST BUY Geek Squad said Abe's appliances will call me and set up an appointment. Abe's appliance called me and talks to me the same day. Jeff from Abe's asks for the refrigerator model number and he will order the ice maker. Abe's tech. came out the next week and check out the whole refrigerator checking air flow and other stuff (the first group ABSCO did not do) and then installed the ice maker. The problem, it made less ice than the old one did and now nothing. Abe's called me this morning and ask if the ice maker was working and I told him not at all!
So Jeff from Abe's is now saying that has to be the compressor. That the temperature on door (now -06) is not what the temperature is inside of refrigerator. Jeff at Abe's also said their policy does not allow them to expose gas inside of the house, which I will need to call Geek Squad back and set another appointment. I had purchased an Asus Intel Notebook a few months back from Best Buy. I always purchase the warranty as I do with all of my purchases as to come to find out they cannot locate this purchase. (Is that not strange)? I brought the merchandise home, it worked for 3 days ONLY!! After spending over 500.00 now I am stuck with a P.C in which does NOT work. This should still be covered under manufacturer's warranty and I am hoping something will be done about this situation. Or I will no longer purchase products from your company and or Best Buy!! I feel as though I was scammed, I believe that this was a returned merchandise (damaged) and best buy went a head and sold it any way!!! Not looking good for your company whatsoever!!!
I had a friend in which worked for the company and they did it all the time. She therefore quit. They are more do it at Christmas. Please I am not asking for money to be exchanged but it would be nice to have my merchandise replaced, I did pay for it! I have a daughter in college and money is limited for me. I am willing to send back the damage goods. There is NOT one mark on it anywhere. You will see that the system was NEVER even set up, we never had a chance to get that far. My email was submitted with and when I had signed up for account. If I were you I would remove any and all products from Best Best... They are doing more harm than good for your company. Selling damaged goods to hard working people. They should be ashamed of themselves!!

I purchased the Refrigerator from ISELIN, NJ store on Aug 27. Scheduled delivery was on September 3rd, and guess what, they come with the wrong fridge. I refused the delivery and they rescheduled it for Sep 5 and guess what, they did not even arrive on that day. As per different multiple calls, BEST BUY rep mentioned that they are unable to find the item in warehouse. What they think, do they know any customer ethics, without informing the customer they just cancelled the scheduled delivery and wasted my one another day.
Again the 3rd delivery was scheduled, and guess what again, the delivery didn't arrive and as per them, now there is a problem with my order, and they are specifying this after 2 weeks and after 3 failed attempt. I will not place any order from BESTBUY now, for my order they seems to be highly unprofessional and failed to fulfill promise 3 times. I may going to cancel my order now since they are unable to deliver the items even in 3 attempts.

I went to Best Buy and purchased another phone in the meantime, being assured I could return the phone once it was delivered. I still to this day haven't seen my refund AND I am told 300 different reasons why. Best Buy customer service is horrible. Save yourself a headache and shop elsewhere!

I financed a new computer for $1000 on a Best Buy card. After nine months and paying $900, I still owed $1000. Here's how it happened: On the 25th of each month, I sent $100 through my bank's auto pay. My payment was due on the 7th. Apparently, my auto pay was not getting there until the 9th. I was getting late fees ($45), debt protection (which I never ordered at $10.35), and then interest ($65.76). I called many many times. They reversed two late fees. After several more calls, they reversed one more. That is roughly $100. That means I paid $800 in fees. They were unflinchingly unsympathetic. No one should need to pay twice the amount of the item they purchased.

BestBuy sales fraud - On September 2011 I went to BestBuy Cerritos to buy an Apple laptop for my wife. We found the laptop we needed, and the salesman asked me if I had kids. Because if I had kids, I said yes. He told me that I needed to purchase a protection plan, in case my kids spilled water on the computer or dropped it. It will be covered completely, all I have to do is bring it into the store and they will fix it, and if they can't fix it they will replace my computer with a brand new one. I bought the protection plan for 2 years, and he told me it will cost me an extra $200. Two years later in 2013, I received an email from Geek Squad reminding me that my protection plan will expire soon and if I wanted to renew my protection plan. So I renewed the protection plan online, and I paid $100 for one more year.
August 2014, my daughter dropped the laptop and it damaged the corner of the laptop and the screen. The laptop still functions, but it got very slow and gets hot quickly. I took the computer to BestBuy to fix it, and they told me that my protection plan doesn't cover physical damage. They said that they can fix the speed and temperature of the laptop. I told him I had a protection plan, he pulled out the protection plan info, and told me that I had the Standard protection plan, and it doesn't cover physical damage. I told him that I never bought a standard protection plan, but he told me that when I purchased the laptop I bought the standard protection plan with it. Even though I was not told that I had purchased the standard protection plan when I bought the laptop.
I understood that it was the same as a manufacturer's warranty. And the salesman told me that they never offer the customer a standard plan, they always offer the customer the ADH plan. And when I renewed the protection plan after 2 years, I thought that I will be purchasing the same protection plan (ADH). The email that was sent to me only said that if I wanted to renew it I could go online and do it; however, it did not say that the protection plan would be changed. I talked to the manager of the store and he told me that he can't do anything for me, and that my protection plan didn't cover the physical damage. When I told him that no one offered me a standard protection plan, he said he didn't know.
I told the manager that I went to a different store and I checked the computers, and I asked one of the salesman at the other store about their warranties, and he told me that they offer only the ADH protection plan and they don't offer the Standard protection plan. I told him I wanted to speak with a higher power manager, so he gave me the corporate number. They kept transferring me and putting me on hold. I explained over and over what had happened. At the end, a lady told me that they will send me a refund for the renewal because I was right that no one told me about the policy of the renewal. And no one said it was a standard protection plan. She told me she was going to refund my $100.
I told her that I didn't want a refund, that I wanted my computer to be fixed. But when I was talking to her I was disconnected. I don't know her name and she never called me back. But when I tried to call them back they told me it wasn't their problem, that it was Geek Squad's problem. So I called Geek Squad and the told me that it wasn't their problem, it was BestBuy's problem. So now I was stuck in the middle and I don't know who to talk to, or who is responsible for my warranty. I'm trying to speak up and find someone that can help me in BestBuy.
What I'm trying to get at here is that I want the physical damages on my computer to be fixed, because I purchased a plan that supposedly covered it according to the salesman. They told me to purchase a protection plan that will cover physical damages and then sold me a different plan without my consent. And if nothing would have happened to my device I would have never known what was done to me. I'm sure this has happened to many customers. We have been cheated of our money to buy something we weren't told we were buying.

I ordered a FITBIT over 2 weeks ago and they cannot seem to figure out how to ship it correctly. It will be a total month before I even receive it. Their customer service is HORRENDOUS! They continuously lie thinking you will give up. They put you on hold when you ask for a supervisor and after 15 minutes the call automatically hangs up. Unacceptable business practices and I hope they go out of business if we all stop shopping there. I know I will never step foot in there again and this is how they treat their Elite customers... My wife and I are now needing to contact our phone company for our phone records, BB claims we never called in 2013. We did NUMEROUS times. Aug '13 received email for automatic renewal of antivirus for computer no longer owned, returned to local GeekSquad after it was tried. We called to cancel. Sept'13 we received statement with charge, IMMEDIATELY called BB 800 # and they stated they put it in a 'state of dispute' and NOT to act on anything until rectified. Meantime, purchases through December (paid off ALL those purchases) but did not pay the amount on the virus scanner (called 800 number that again said to ignore charge and fees and the dispute, etc. "would eventually go away."
Feb '14 noted a $20 credit, thought it was taking care of service charges... We LATER found out from our local GeekSquad it took until JANUARY to have it cancelled. The 800 GEEKsquad will not take off the initial charge (nor any FEES) they referred to citibank, etc. without looking into our calls to BB 800. CitiBank's billing dept. said have BB remove initial charge, they are not, they say it is GeekSquad, they will not. It has escalated to a ridiculous level. Need advice from anyone, pursue legal action? Have been told to do so. Keep getting numbers and going into circles. Asking for call records to prove we have called. Any other advice. I realize this is a part of Best Buy, needing advice. Can go outside of BB for legal advice, and maybe should?

Not the best experience at the Hoover, Alabama Best Buy Store when I recently went in with a Galaxy s3 phone that I spill some liquids on over the labor day weekend. I was thinking, I pay the $9.99 per month - surely they will give me a new phone. I received an email that my phone was received by GEEK and it was being worked on to repair the phone!
If this is the case, disappointed with GEEK smartphone protection! It's all a gimmick and money maker for GEEK. I hope the phone is operable when I get it back. I find it ironic that this asks me to be "fair and accurate" with regards to my comments. Good thing that only applies to customers and not specifically BEST BUY or any of its employees. What a joke. Anyway, to make a long story short, for the sake of the character count and my health..... bought 2 cellphones in December '13, got some girl making minimum wage - took her 4 hours, I'm not exaggerating (we walked into Best Buy at 7:15pm and didn't leave until 11:30pm - Christmas hours), for her to get us "checked out". She needed the manager's assistance 3 plus times because she couldn't operate her computer.....anyway I said it was going to be a short story, they (miss minimum wage, and Mr. manager) sold us the "bomb proof" protection. "If you drop this in the pool, it gets stolen, you crack the screen, it falls in a puddle, out of your purse etc....this plan will cover it." So 2 months later the Samsung gets stolen - what do you think happens. Nope, no coverage, your product protection plan doesn't cover, drum roll.........ANYTHING!! ha ha you lose.
So we replace the phone on our own, and try to cancel the plan for the phone that is sitting crushed in a landfill somewhere....guess what, you're locked into the plan for 2 years. To say we are slightly mind-blown and disgusted is a gross understatement. We offered the police report to cancel our plan on at least the one phone that was stolen - still no dice. It's basically robbery. To sum it up, Best Buy will do nothing, they can afford to lose 1,000 customers a day and not care, so why would they. I for one will never shop there again, here's hoping none of you will either. We were lied to and intentionally deceived into buying false safety. That's pretty low Best Buy, I hope your retail days are numbered.

For instance I was told a tv could be returned for any reason within 14 days. This is a lie. Damaged equipment cannot be returned. I was told that a phone which had an extended warranty could be returned for any reason except loss. In fact the phone cannot be returned if it's damaged without paying a 150.00 fee and you get a rebuilt replacement, not a new one. The box that it came in was in perfect condition so I suggested that she keep it in there until she moved to college - about 6 weeks out. After gathering all her things for the big move she decided to check that she would be able to set up the TV and when she removed it from the box found that there was severe damage to the TV and that the screen had a hole in it. She immediately repacked it without removing any stickers and returned to the store. The supervisor was anything but sympathetic and after admitting that the box was still in perfect condition actually accused her of causing the damage even though he had also said that it would take a lot of force to do that amount of damage to the TV. He was not interested in helping her at all.
I have sent an email to ** (name purposely blanked out for this forum) who, according to their website is the store manager and states that our "feedback is important and feel free to contact me at...", but have so far been ignored. I had a balance of $435 in July and make no purchases, nothing. I have been paying this card off for years, month by month a little more than the minimum so it would simmer down from its original $2900 balance. I accidentally skipped a payment so I was a little concerned when I logged on today August 13, and discovered a balance of $930!!!. So after poking around a while you can actually get the facts- but they don't make it easy. There it was. Interest charge of $469 for this month. I could not believe it!!! Think about that. My balance is $435 and they just sneak the $469 random charge. What's up with that? Are people so busy with their lives they don't notice things like that.
So I call them..blood boiling. The lady says she can't talk to me until I give it to her.... and that when I do I will have to receive phone calls, texts and promotions, but that if I don't give her my cell she can't talk to me. (They were me hostage and the resolution of this matter all for my cell phone number) Then I gave her my home phone number, which no one ever answers, no ringer on that. So then she started suggesting that the interest charge they applied must have been a promotion or something. I'm like WHAAAT? Then she puts me on hold to talk to her supervisor. She comes back about 5 minutes later saying that the only way she can help me is if I pay $25 now, and the entire balance on September 5, and arrange to have that taken automatically that day. So go figure?? I may end up with problems again in September, but once this is over I will never use Best Buy again.

Yesterday, my wife spilt water on the phone, so we happily went to Best Buy in disbelief that the warranty would actually have been worth it (by the end of our contract we'll basically have bought a new cell phone). But upon presenting our case to the manager at Best Buy, the manager rudely told us there's nothing she could do since the water damage sensor was tripped and we must have submerged the phone.
After I asked if we can speak to someone senior to her, she told us there is no one in the store that we could speak to. She also said if we called the corporate office she would just tell them that we submerged the phone and they would not honor the warranty. The phone in both store's technical departments continued to ring unanswered. I was forced to drive to Moncton 3 1/ 2 hours away in December and drop off the Acer computer for repair.
Third problem: on December 31st, the other Sony laptop hard drive failed. I tried calling both Future Shops again but as was before, there was no answer. In order to have a functioning computer to run our hotel reservation system, I went to the local computer repair shop and purchased a new hard drive, which he installed, including loading up the software. I was able to at least function until Future Shop decided to answer their phones and deal with honoring their warranty and while I was waiting for the Acer to be repaired.
I was notified in early January that the Acer laptop was ready for pick-up. So again, I drove to Moncton and picked up the laptop. I spoke directly to the Computer Department Sales Manager, informing him of the 2nd computer’s hard drive failure and the overall poor customer service, and that I could not reach either store by phone. He apologized and said that there were phone problems nationwide at all Future Shop Stores and that it would be best to speak directly to the store manager in Charlottetown. Between January and February, we continued to call the Charlottetown store, still no answer. My niece (who lives in Charlottetown) went into the store and explained the situation at the computer desk and asked them to call me, explaining the problem and telling them it was urgent. Still, there was no call.
Fourth Problem: After we picked up the Acer and returned to back to our hotel, we discovered the hard drive replacement in the Acer was actually replaced with a used one... 120 days used to be exact (with who knows what data on it - factory resets do not necessarily remove data) and the 'C' key was repaired with an 'L' key, so now the keyboard has 2 L keys and no C key!
Now March, we still are not able to reach the Charlottetown store. I angrily drove 4 1/4 hours to Charlottetown. The General Manager handled my complaint very poorly. Rather than take me aside to a private place, he asked me to explain the situation in the store with an audience of on-lookers and interested shoppers. As I began to explain the series of failures in servicing and the many problems with the laptops, I became angrier and he became defensive - handling me as if I was some kind of inconvenience in his daily routine. I asked for a complete refund for all the problems. He would only agree to repair under the warranty. He assured me Sony was worth keeping and repairing and he did agree to replace the Acer.
I did not agree to accept that and I said my computer technician would have to review the repairs (I did not want more used hard drives and substandard repairs). I suggested he would call him to discuss the repairs first. He took my laptop anyway and sent it away for repair, but failed to call me to tell me he had done this and also failed to call me when it had been returned and repaired. I had to call him. That was April 2014.
On May 16th, I wrote him a letter summarizing my complaints, requesting compensation for the laptops and out of pocket costs. He promised to respond. We are now July 31th, 2014, I still do not have my computer back from Future shop, I am still working on a poorly repaired substandard Acer laptop and the Manager has not responded. I would never recommend that anyone buy from Future Shop. This has negatively affected my business; I have suffered a loss of income from not being able to send or receive reservations; it has cost me a great deal of business interruption - for over 9 months! I have incurred many out of pocket costs: repairs, gas, and mileage, loss of time away from my business, all of which could have been prevented, if Future Shop would only provide even a minimum level of customer service, answering their phones and honoring their warranties. I am now waiting to hear back from their head office.
I was promised a 4 hour turn around, and they have already failed that. Future Shop: shame on you. You are full of promises you do not keep. You are focused only on sales and the cheapest price in town. You sell warranties that you refuse to honor. You are a fraud. But you are a real disgrace to the retail business in Canada. You do not deserve to be in business. You deserve to go bankrupt. I predict you will. CBC Go Public, and all the other Canadians you have also failed will appreciate hearing about this. I have joined the surmounting ranks of the many customers you have completely failed.

I wrote a check today for a computer at Best Buy in Columbia, SC. The check was denied by Telecheck despite my excellent credit, never having written a bad check, and having plenty of money in my account. The manager at Best Buy treated me like a criminal. I do not keep credit cards with high available credit for security purposes so I had to write a check. In this day and age, I cannot believe that this happened today, and oh, BTW my son's girlfriend who I just met today witnessed this shameful and embarrassing incident that nearly made me break down in tears in the store. I will never, ever, ever shop Best Buy ever again, nor will I ever spend my money at any business that uses Telecheck. Oh, I was also rudely told by the manager that he was not required to tell me why the check was denied. I am having my bank start investigating first thing Monday morning and will be taking appropriate legal action if it is determined that I do have any rights in this insane situation where I was treated like some kind of thug when all I was trying to do was spend my hard-earned money to buy my son a computer for college.

On Feb 15, 2014, my wife and myself went to Best Buy and while browsing phones she decided she wanted to upgrade. We bought a Motorola Maxx, an iPhone 5 and 2 Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phones. Along with these, we were told that the insurance through BestBuy is much better than Verizon's plan so we went with it. After Verizon's update, my Note3 started to act up a bit... dropping calls, not showing missed calls not telling me I have a message, stuff like that. I went to the Best Buy store in Worcester, MA on three different times in the last week. They reset some stuff on the first trip, replaced the SIM card on the second and today told me I could replace it for $149.00. They could not duplicate a dropped call so they said it was my fault. The Geek I was dealing with did call the phone three times and all the calls went through.
When I looked at recent calls, it only showed them calling once so two of the calls which did happen didn't show up at all. To me that duplicates part of the issue I was having. Still $149.00 or beat feet. I explained to them that the phone is under a factory warranty and therefore should absolutely not have to pay for a replacement and his answer... "Maybe you should call Samsung and see if they will help you." Now at this point I am ready to go off so I grabbed my phone and left. I drove directly to the Verizon store in Shrewsbury, MA and dealt with Manteja. I explained the above and she said, "Oh, I will just replace the phone. Because you don't have insurance through us it will be mailed to you and should only take a couple days. Still under factory warranty. If you had insurance through us it would be overnighted to you."
I asked if I could get the insurance plan and she said, "We actually have open enrollment so you absolutely can." Spoke with the corporate at Best Buy and was told they could refund me last month's insurance payment but could not give me all the money back but told me if I go to the store where I bought the phones, they could do it. I have not done that yet but needless to say Best Buy insurance is a joke, they are a joke and because of this, they have lost any future business from me and anyone else I can get to stop shopping there.

I switched from Sprint to ATT at Best Buy and purchased a Galaxy S5. The salesman talked me out of using ATT Mobile Insurance and instead going with Geek Squad Insurance. He failed to inform me that I basically was giving up replacement insurance for lost or stolen phone for just a simple repair plan. I lost the phone 2 months later off the back of my motorcycle going to work and found out that the so called insurance they sold me at Best Buy did not cover lost or stolen phones: no deductible, not anything, nada, zip. You absorb the full cost of replacement.
ATT Mobile Insurance that they talked me out of buying at Best Buy has a 3 tiered deductible plan that helps protect their customers in the event that their phone should become lost or stolen. ATT also has the added feature included with their basic protection of being able to 'wipe the data' off of a lost or stolen phone (which protects the consumer from personal data falling into the hands of the bad guys.)
Best Buy told me that they did not support that type of service either. So I was essentially told that I was buying an insurance plan that was comparable if not better than ATT when in fact I was buying was a repair insurance and left on my own as far as theft or loss. They did not tell me that in the store. I calmly talked to the manager of Best Buy and told him how disappointed I was in finding out too late the very limited value I was actually getting and that I was furious, I was conned into not using ATT Mobile Insurance.

I was told initially that the phone would be replace not fixed. ATT always replace phone with 50 deductible. Then the phone was stolen and so tried to go through the plan again and was told that it does not cover lost/stolen phones.

They service a lot of brands and can't carry all the parts they need. Both times I had my microwave go out, it took a week to a week and a half to get it fixed. They had to order parts both times (had to order twice the first time around) and it took the better part of a week to get them in. To make matters worse, both times were close to holidays and I was told both times that technicians were off for the holidays and that had backed up service times. I understand the issue, but I am now wondering if I might get better service times if I take the warranty through the manufacturer instead. Perhaps then the needed parts would be better stocked. Being without appliances for long periods is a big problem. I am going to have to buy a cheap microwave to use this weekend for a party I'm having. I waited a few weeks to scratch off the area to get the product key code. After scratching, only 23 of the 25 digits in the code were visible. I took it back to Best Buy to get a new card or the code, but they said, "Sorry, not our problem, you have to contact Microsoft directly". I asked for the phone number, and eventually they gave me an 800 number which I called from their store and spent about an hour on hold and being transferred to different departments.
Eventually Microsoft said, nothing they can do because the product was never activated and registered with them. They actually told me that it was the way it was supposed to work when it jumped to a new line after each character was entered - it's really hard to read vertically. The manufacturer fixed it in one try. I wasted nearly six hours waiting in lines to drop it off and pick it up and talking to their "Geeks", who didn't have a clue.

My experience with Best Buy is the worst shopping experience I have ever had in 55 years of life. It began with a sweet but incompetent representative on the phone who knew NOTHING about the merchandise and took 45 minutes to take the order, getting information wrong repeatedly. I purchased two air conditioners and asked if there was a delivery charge if you opted for delivery and installation rather than shipping. She said no. I asked if they would take away the old air conditioners for free. She said yes. THEN I went through the length process of scheduling delivery and installation, which was to be next Thursday.
Yesterday I received an email saying the air conditioners had SHIPPED. I figured this was an error. I would never have agreed to receive the air conditioners via UPS as I have no doorman or lobby and would be unable to carry the air conditioners up four flights of stairs. I spent two hours on the phone today with UNhelpful customer service reps who insisted there was nothing they could do despite the fact that it was BB's error. They NEVER told me the air conditioners would be shipped. Quite the opposite. I would NEVER have agreed!
They said they couldn't change the delivery or stop it or cancel the order. NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Finally had to call American express to stop payment, and refuse the order from UPS and demand the rep send me an email promising to refund both the cost of the air conditioners and of the installation. Then I called my old friend P.C Richards. They deliver and install, at the same time, remove the old a/cs and do not charge extra for walk-ups. It will cost me $100 more, but no headaches. Done and done. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER buy from BEST BUY again.

After an experience I recently had at Best Buy, I will probably not shop there again. On 7/30/13 I purchased a Samsung Wireless LAN Adapter for my HDTV from the Albuquerque #223 store. It stopped working in less than three months so I put the adapter in its original box along with the purchase receipt, drove across town, and stood in a long line to get a refund only to be told that Best Buy would not give me one because this was a Samsung product! I've never encountered any policy like that in any store. Surely Best Buy should make good on the products it sells off its shelves and deal with the manufacturers about defects itself. But no, in this case the Best Buy customer service rep insisted I must go to Samsung myself. So I spent literally months hassling with Samsung to get the refund only to be told in the end that they would NOT give me one and that I had no further recourse. Basically I'm out what I paid for the adapter + a whole lot of time & trouble. Grrr.

I purchased this tv (Samsung 40" LED TV model:UN40ES6500F) from Best Buy and they were very helpful. My first tv was defective so I returned it and they gave me no problems. All I had to do was show the receipt, explain what was wrong, and they checked it out. They did see the problem for themselves and getting a replacement was not an issue. Keep in mind, I did this within one week. If I was to wait over 30 days then I would have to go through Samsung for warranty issues. In the past, I've bought various electronics from BB and haven't had any problems.

When I purchased a Samsung Note 3 back in October 2013, it was recommended that I purchase the cell phone insurance through Best Buy. The salesman without question stated that Best Buy's insurance plan was by far much better than Verizon's plan (my cell phone carrier). A couple of days ago, my cell phone was stolen and lo and behold, Best Buy's insurance plan does not cover "lost or stolen phones". This was a complete surprise to me. At least if I had purchased Verizon's plan, I would pay the deductible for a new phone instead of having to pay the total retail price for a new phone. This was a very deceptive practice by Best Buy and there was a lack of full disclosure.

Eight months ago, I went with my 16-year-old to get a phone. We got a $9.99 a month protection plan. A plan they no longer offer because they were losing money on. He never damaged or put in a replacement request. I had questionable activity on my debit card and the bank had issued me a new card. So when Best Buy went to withdraw, it was denied. You better believe if it was for their benefit, I would have received an email. They wanted it to lapse so it would be one more contract they did not have to honor. NO ONE notified me! So when we put the claim in, response, "Sorry, we can't help you." Dirty, dirty, business practice. I am a single mom working a full-time job and 2 part-time jobs. On May 18th Sunday, I went into our local Best Buy store to find out why my withdrawals stopped out of my account for service protection? The store manager ended up giving me the 888 number. The manager said they should be able to strengthen things out NO PROBLEM! So I went out to my car, called the 888 number, got a receptionist. She then transferred me to service. The first girl I got spoke broken English really. I told her that I was wondering why our 2 $10.00 service protection for my 2 phone was not being taken out of checking anymore? I need service on both my phones so they work properly. She said it is past 60 days. Those two contracts have been removed. I asked why. I did not receive any notification so I can do something so I would still have service.
She said they are under David (my husband). I said but my two accounts had 1st of all my phone number to call and let me know you are doing this (that is called good customer service.) I did not get a phone call on either phones. They also had my email address that was under both of my phones. They have no excuse why they could not get a hold of me to explain why they were canceling my service. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. She kept saying there is nothing she could do. I asked to speak to a manager. She transferred me. I was on hold forever then I got hung up on. I was mad at this point. I called back. I got a lady by the name of Sara. I asked to speak to a manager. She asked why, I explained again what happened and that this is very, very important.
I have working phones. She asked why I explained. I have KIDNEY DISEASE, I CAN ONLY LIVE SO LONG WITHOUT A KIDNEY THEN I DIE! I am waiting for a call to get a transplant. This is why I need my phone fixed (2 phones). This is my life or death. I need the phones NOW! She said, "Oh my gosh, yes you need a phone. I will transfer you to a manager." I sat on hold again for 10 mins. Sara came back. She asked to take my info. He is in a meeting and would call me back asap. Time now 11:20 pm, no phone call. They lied to me. I have ran my own business for 20 yrs now and I would not be in business if I treated a customer like this. I am going to take this to the top. This is very important for me and my health. And terminating my 2 accounts for no reason and NO NOTICE is horrible. I purchased a Yamaha AV receiver in August of 2013 with an extended warranty that was presented by the sales person as a replacement warranty if a problem occurred during the warranty period. In January 2014, I discovered the left front channel quit working and I returned the unit to Future Shop in Nanaimo on February 7th and was informed that a warranty replacement would only happen if the unit could not be repaired. The receiver was sent away and came back after 3 weeks with a note stating that their technicians did not find anything wrong with the unit. I returned home and reconnected the unit and found the problem was still present and returned the unit to the store.
A staff member at Future Shop connected the receiver to speakers in store and verified the problem was still present and subsequently sent away again for repair. I checked on the status of the unit again after about 3 weeks and was told it was on its way back. After another week went by, I checked again and was told someone gave me the wrong message and was informed that they were waiting for parts. I was informed near the end of March that the repair was being expedited and I should receive the unit by March 28th.
My Wife checked the status on April 14th and was advised it had not come back. I had been away for a couple of weeks and returned home on the same day she had called. I called Future Shop on April 15th early Saturday morning and was advised that they found the unit in the back of the store and it must have just came in. The repair indicated that some connectors were re-soldered (no parts installed as per previously implied). I took the unit home and found the problem still persisted. At this time, I complained to the store manager stating their warranty wasn't worth the paper it was printed on and their customer service sucks.
He went on to inform me again that a replacement of the unit would only occur after 3 repair attempts or three months whichever occurs first. He the suggested I call a Yamaha representative and gave me a number to call. The Yamaha representative has now had the unit shipped from Future Sops repair Depot to a Yamaha approved repair shop in Vancouver and I have been informed that a new circuit board has been shipped to the same shop. At the same time, I made a call to Future Shop and was told their customer service manager would give me a call.
It now has been over 3 months since the unit was first shipped away and while I have been informed by Yamaha they will make it right, I have yet to hear back from the Future Shop Customer Service Department and after a review of the fine print of the extended warranty sold by Future Shop, the warranty does state a replacement after 3 repair attempts or 60 days not the 3 months as stated by the store manager, and also states that the replacement can be a refurbished unit and not necessarily the same make.
Future shop pushes the sale of their warranty programs but fail to inform the customers of the warranty limitations and fail to provide customer service and provide satisfactory warranty service in a timely fashion or as per the implied warranty. I have purchased a considerable number of items from Future Shop over the last 15 years or more but no more, and will let everyone I know about my experience with Future Shop.

Average consumers, like me, do our homework before purchasing expensive items like computers. We know what we want before we go into a store. Take for example, my recent trek to a local Best Buy store to purchase a computer on March 6, 2014. I had a print-out of a computer in my hand that was supposed to be in stock at that particular store. I'm looking at the display units for the all-in-one's, and no one bothers to approach me. As I am walking to another area of the store I pass in front of a desk which acts as a checkout station, and I notice two associates standing there chatting. One asks me if there is something that they can help me find. The two Best Buy employees saw me looking at computers, and neither one bothered to acknowledge me, let alone approach me.
When I asked about the computer from the print-out, he took the paper and looked up the information on his cash register/computer. He told me that he didn't have that particular unit on display. I said I would like to see one that is similar, and on display. He walked me over to a $399 computer and said "here is one". I said no, I was looking for one similar to the one in the print-out. At this point he started asking what I was going to use it for. I was about to say it was none of his business, but I was trying to think of something polite to say when the sales person asked me again what I was going to use the computer for. I must say he was persistent. I said just a couple of business applications. He then showed me a $1,100 computer, almost twice the price of the one I was looking for. I said I wanted the one I was looking for. He said it had an AMD processor, and the AMD processors are made for gaming. He then tried to sell me on a computer equipped with an Intel processor. I finally said, "forget it, I would order the computer on-line from HP", and started walking towards the store exit. At that point I overheard him say good luck or something like that, and in a snarky tone.
Go figure, that's three times I have gone to Best Buy to buy a computer since the company blew into town a few years back. Each time I get some aggressive sales person trying to sell me a higher priced computer. I wrote software for Window's computers. I develop software for business as my day job, and I have built computers. All I ever get when I go into a Best Buy store is aggravation, someone trying to sell me a more expensive computer. If you go to Best Buy for a computer, they will try and sell you a more expensive one. If they try and sell you a more expensive computer, you'll get upset. If you get upset they'll make you feel like an idiot. Don't be an idiot, shop somewhere else.

About ten years ago I bought a desktop from Best Buy and they must have put something on it to screw it up because I had to exchange the original one for yet another desktop unit and that one cost me $200.00 to exchange since they told me that I couldn't exchange a bad desktop for a good one since I was out of the return period. The only way they would help me was if I bought their service plan that they hype up on almost everything in the store so I had to charge $200.00 to my card and the next desktop worked okay but the whole experience was a bad joke (I still have this desktop, a Sony Vaio unit which still works but is showing its age).
About two years later I took the Vaio in for 'maintenance' that supposedly came with the $200.00 plan that I paid back in 2004 and I realized after I got the unit back that all the techs did was probably blow compressed air inside the unit, if they even opened it at all. I'm not sure if they even looked at it at all! Fast forward to 2012 and I decided to maybe give BB a second chance and bought a Toshiba Laptop from them for about $700. The sound card didn't work right and really bogged down quite a bit, so I took it in to exchange it for a new unit out on the floor. After their goofy return procedure (BB will NOT take returns or exchanges without an ID) I took the unit home, turned the laptop on, and I get a login screen for someone else's used computer! I immediately went back to BB and just returned the unit and was able to get my money back.
Moral of the story: Best Buy is a bad place to deal with and it shows in their decline. Best Buy and the other retailers that are failing aren't failing because of Amazon/Ebay/Etsy/etc, it's because people are sick of dealing with companies that jerk people around. My family members have bought other electronics at BB and most of them have either failed in a relatively short time or don't work as well as they really should. I know that BB has a big problem with selling used stuff as new. Best Buy has been declining ever since the late 90s from what I've seen and I personally probably won't shop their again, at least for anything major!

Per tracking information, the order was shipped out the next day via UPS and I received 2 boxes 4/7/14. I signed for the delivery and that was the end of that, so I thought. We discover a couple days ago Microsoft Office is not installed on the computer, so we call BB. They tell us they show 3 packages were delivered, signed, and received at the home and there is nothing they can do to help me any further. Someone did, however, tell me to call UPS, which I did, but no luck there.
I have been back and forth between BB, UPS, and Microsoft asking for any help with this situation. I spent over $700 with BB. I have the receipt, but no product key. BB stands by their 15-day policy firmly and a few of them were pretty nasty about telling me this. I understand customer service very well as I have worked in this department for over 10 years. The policy is in black and white. There's no disputing that, however, customer service has the ability to read the store policies and assist beyond this to rectify the situation. At least, this is how I have operated and succeeded thus far in business.
I am so frustrated with this whole thing. MO is not cheap, $119.99 plus tax, to be exact. Everyone wants to refer me to others, but the bottom line is I paid my money to Best Buy and I did not receive the product, therefore, it is their responsibility to resolve this matter. That's my story. I won't give up on calling them because I don't have extra money lying around. A very good friend referred me to BB because she and her husband purchase from BB all the time. I was thinking about upgrading with Sprint through them, but after this whole situation, I don't think they will get anymore of my business. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about my situation in hopes the same misfortune won't happen to them.

I renewed my ATT contract and purchased 4 new phones in Dec 2013 at Best Buy in Tallahassee, FL. One of the smartphones was for my disabled son. The sales persons ( Lucas & several) recommended the Geek Squad protection plan for us BECAUSE IT WAS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ONE ATT HAD EXCEPT THAT THE DEDUCTIBLE WAS LOWER WITH BEST BUY. I agreed to purchase the plan for my disabled son as he would be the most likely to lose/damage his phone. On March 7, 2014, my son put his phone down at a restaurant and walked to the table. Then ran back to get the phone. It was gone. No one at the restaurant had seen it.
We immediately followed the directions to locate and lock the phone. We were told (by Lucas and other sales persons) that if someone tried to use the phone, it would take a picture and send it to us. It never happened. We called Geek Squad the next morning (March 8, 2014) when they opened. I spent 2 hours on hold. Finally, I spoke to a gentleman who told me that the phone is not replaceable under Geek Squad for lost or stolen! He did confirm that the phone was locked. He could not confirm if it was wiped, nor why it did not take a picture, nor why the phone didn't call them when the thief tried to place a call. He said that he couldn't figure it out but that someone would call me back within 36 hours.
I told him that the longer the wait time, the less likely to find the phone. He said he couldn't do anything else as there was no one available to help him. No one ever called back. I left several message throughout Saturday and Sunday with no return calls. I called again Monday morning, again, spending 2 1/2 hours on hold. I left a message for a supervisor. No return call. I had my son's phone number changed to an old phone on Monday because he needed to have a phone for school. I called again in the afternoon. I made contact with a supervisor who said he couldn't speak about the plan without someone from tech support. He said he would call back in 15 minutes. 2 hours later, he called back with a three-way conversation and tech support.
WHAT HAPPENED: Tech support said that my son registered a tablet, not a phone! He also told me that there was nothing he could do because we had put the phone number on another phone... I also went to speak with the store manager who was very nice and apologetic. But in questioning their employees in the cell phone department, he asked if Geek Squad covers lost or stolen phones. Of course, he was told no. He offered to sell me a new phone for his cost of $500.00 as a consolation. And Geek Squad is still charging my son's account for a plan that didn't do what was expected.
Had I received proper help from the first tech support person or a return call within a reasonable time, much trouble might have been avoided. And had I NOT been LIED to by Best Buy sales people eager to make a sale, I would have purchased the ATT plan and my son would have had his Samsung S4 replaced. I FEEL THAT GEEK SQUAD SHOULD REPLACE HIS PHONE AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE THEY GET AWAY WITH LIES. I feel that this was taking advantage of a disabled person by not telling the truth and his stressed-out mother.

Best Buy position: Corporate Executive Office stated Best Buy not responsible for cost of Geek Squad or HP diagnostic due to length of time after work order date. It was also mentioned they do not have the time, at time of pick-up, to go through this checklist with consumer. Consumer position: Checklist should be discussed and performed with customer at time of pick-up plus the 30-day limit on repairs. - product can be returned within 14 days at ANY FUTURE SHOP LOCATION in CANADA
Last night I tried to return this laptop to a another store (located in Etobicoke - 1563 The Queensway). The laptop was in the original purchase condition and was returned within the 14 day window. The Assistant Manager serving me refused to process my return. He first told me I needed to return the laptop at the original store of purchase (i.e. Burlington). I stated this policy was never mentioned nor is it stated on the receipt or website.
He then told me he didn't want to accept an open box floor model product because it is "difficult to sell". He is clearly concerned from a store inventory and bottom line perspective and has no regard for what the Future Shop return policy is nor is focused on customer service. I then called the Burlington Future Shop Store Manager on speaker phone and advised the Etobicoke store to accept the product and courier it to his Burlington store where he would cover all expenses and hold the inventory. Shams and Scott both agreed to these terms and Shams agreed to accept the return.
After spending 20 mins in the back room, the Etobicoke Assistant Manager returned to me and refused the return. He told me he wasn't comfortable accepting the product due to the minor scratches on the laptop (which were present when I purchased the machine). We once again called Burlington and sent him pictures of the scratches and he was comfortable accepting the product. Once again, the Assistant Manager refused and deliberately lied to both the Burlington store and myself and claimed the hinge was strained and opening and closing the laptop was difficult (which was far from reality). This sort of blatant lie is unprofessional and completely unacceptable!
At this point there was nothing the Burlington store could do and he himself said he was unable to force the Etobicoke store to accept the return. As such, he provided me with an extension to return the product back to his Burlington store by June 16th. I don't consider this a fair solution as this would require me to drive 90 kms out of my way to return this product to the Burlington store. The Future Shop Return policy clearly states customers can return product at ANY store. I asked him if he was going to compensate me for lost time and fuel. He said no.
I left the Etobicoke store without an acceptable resolution and a very angry customer. I spent over 2 hours (7:30 pm - 9:30 pm) in store with this incompetent Assistant Manager who kept going back and forth on his word of accepting the return and then finally refusing the return. This Assistant Manager needs to be reprimanded for his breach in adhering to the Future Shop policy! He is not competent enough to serve as a Sales Associate let alone be given the authority to serve as an Assistant Manager. He has caused me much grief and wasted precious hours of my time during a critical period in which I needed to prepare for an important business trip. I will never purchase another product for my business as well as personal from Future Shop!

I brought in my surround sound receiver for repairs on Boxing Day 2013. I had bought it as a TV package and I paid an extra $300 for a 5 year warranty. Well after two months of hearing nothing from them, I called to see what was taking so long. I waited the 4 to 6 weeks they said it would take. They said they tried to call me which I never received a call. I can tell with my missed calls feature. They never left a message either. They said the warranty only covers the TV, not the surround sound system, even though everything is on the same bill. So anyways, they offered to fix it for $100 and I agreed so they had to send it back for repairs (because it had been sitting in their office for three weeks). Well now we are another two months later and nothing! They don't know what's going on or why is it taking so long. They told me they have no direct contact with the manufacturer. They can't call anyone to ask for an update. They can only email them which could take days before they get a reply, if they get a reply. So my receiver is basically in Lalaland. It's frustrating. 4 months for a receiver and counting because I am still waiting. You can build one from scratch in less time. Anyways, I wanted to share my frustration with Future Shop and never again will I buy anything over $100 from them. I am wondering if I will ever see my receiver again.

They told us that our daughters, who live elsewhere, could purchase their phones at any other retailer, after we simply contact Verizon to sign them up as authorized users. Not so! We have spent hours on the phone with Verizon trying to get the authorization. Best Buy and Costco sales people are either deceptive or ignorant of the cell phone companies’ procedures.

Purchased an LG dishwasher on 3/31/14 with delivery and pick up and was to be installed by them. They kept changing the install date. They finally came to install and the unit was damaged. They took my old unit and set a new date which was changed two more times. They called and set the date for yesterday and guess what they changed to today. Again they called this morning and canceled again. Today is 4/15 and still no unit and our old one that worked is gone. I called and canceled the order.

I bought an Asus computer from them as I have done for last 30 yrs and it acted crazy from beginning. It kept popping up with ads, could not stay connected to internet, and was useless. Had to use my old computer which connected fine. When I went to return at the Best Buy in Metairie, LA , I was told, "sorry, it is full of viruses and we cannot exchange it." I tried to explain that this was a problem from the beginning but they just did not care. I will never buy from them again.

My husband decided to purchase me a Toshiba Satellite laptop for Valentines day this year (2/14/2014) as a gift. I had only had it for 3 days when I noticed it was running a little funny, brought it in and the Geek Squad guy said there was nothing wrong with it and I went back home a little over 1 month later (March 8,2014). I noticed the same issue and then my screen went black. Even on the charger the power would not come on.
I brought it back up to the store and told them what was happening. The Geek Squad associate, then looking at me like I was stupid, plugged it into his computer and said, "yep there is something wrong.." (yea like I didn't already tell you that ). They said, "you need to get it fixed." They sent it out said it would be a few weeks and then said it needs a new component since mine was fried. So I said, "hey no big deal I just need to know when to pick it up." They said on the 23 of this month (March 23, 2014). I CALLED UP to the Port Arthur location and asked if my computer was ready, they said no. It needs more parts and they had to get it repaired still. So I said, "ok can you tell me when it will be ready?" He said in about 2 weeks.
Well 2 weeks came and went, and finally my father in law (whose number I never gave them) got a phone call saying that my computer was ready for pick up. I went in the Sunday after they called him and said I was here to pick it up and they said they didn't have it. Officially 4 weeks later, I finally got it back. NO ONE AT THIS LOCATION HAS BEEN IN TROUBLE FOR THEIR NEGLIGENCE AND LACK OF COMMON SENSE.

So on the 31 of March I went into the port Arthur TX location and bought a 60" Samsung plasma TV. The store said, "ok you can buy it here." I check out and then ended up having to go to another location to pick TV up. Get there and all their associates are standing around talking. I give the lady at pick up location (Beaumont TX) my receipt. Finally after 7 times calling someone through the walkie talkie she was able to get someone to get the TV from the back. I didn't even walk out the door and tell the guy, "hey that's not the TV I purchased," in front of all the other employees. The guy said, "this is the only TV we have so you can have this one." (I might want to say that this one isn't a plasma at all it's a led smart TV that's a $2000 TV instead of the 800 TV I bought) Now after saying it was wrong they call yesterday 4/11/2014 to tell me they need to come pick up the TV since they gave me the wrong TV...
Long story short I called their headquarters to ask what the hell was going on. They decided yesterday to comp out the TV they gave me and do a full refund of the TV I purchased (meaning they gave me the 2000 TV for free and gave me back the full amount of 865). Then today they changed their minds and call me saying they are just going to let me keep the TV I have had for over 2 1/2 weeks in my home for 865 and no refund. I'd say they do ** business anyways but this is over the top. Not only am I having anxiety issues now since I don't know if they will change their minds and say, "NO WE WERE WRONG. WE ARE JUST COMING TO TAKE THE TV ANYWAYS" ...and to top it off they said they needed to print out a new receipt for this TV when they don't even have the original receipt from the one I purchased.
I seriously think someone needs to go back in and retrain these ** since they apparently don't know the difference between right and wrong. Once they gave me this TV after I came out and said, "no that isn't the TV I purchased," the day I picked up and I left best buys property the TV legally became my property and to top it off when I received the voicemail from the store the inventory specialist said, "hi Mrs. **, this is Scott. um we have a problem with the TV you purchase on the 31st and need you to um call us back at the um number um I um dialed from... " Now tell me if I didn't have caller id how in the hell do they expect someone to get in touch with them?????? They are very unprofessional and sounds to me like they are uneducated, not trained at all in phone etiquette or customer service.

I bought a floor model tv in November. It had some problems turning on ever since I got it. But since it was so big I assumed it needed to warm up a minute because it would turn on after hitting the power button a second or third time. It would not turn on about April 1st. I called the technical support on Saturday and got someone to look at it on Tuesday.
The guy basically laughed at me and said "you know whats wrong." He showed me a tiny chip and explained it overloaded the screen. So if it didn't need to warm up, the experts that sold me then knew exactly what was wrong with the TV when they sold it to me... And that's why they nearly "forced" me to get the extended warranty before I left... Now they're telling me it's physical damage not covered in the warranty.
I waited an hour on hold when I called the warranty phone number and they dropped my call, ya thanks for wasting my airtime. So I went to the store I bought it from. They told me I need to come back on Thursday to talk to a manager... So why isn't there a manager there today?? So, I am sitting outside the store Thursday morning waiting for it to open and speak to a manager....Long story short. I have been sold a damaged tv, and getting screwed around on my warranty.

For issues with your electronic item, contact the manufacturer. It should have a one year manufacturer's warranty. If you paid with Visa or AMEX, then contact them. Your credit card company offers additional warranty to your item by doubling the term. Also, if anything happens to your item (theft, damage, etc.) within the first three months, contact the credit card company and they will replace the item. The additional service plan that Best Buy pushes you to purchase is unnecessary.

Bought Asus laptop bundle $279 at Best Buy in Conshohocken, PA. At home I could not get Wifi to connect, plus sound was poor quality. Returned to Best Buy and exchanged for $329 HP laptop bundle, HP15-d035dx. Worked fine at home for a few hours, then when online the screen froze, no mouse or keyboard response, unable to click, unable to select shut down or restart, unable to view task manager. Still frozen after plugging in power, turning off Wifi and plugging in ethernet. With no other options, I pressed and held power button to restart. Worked fine then same problem again. Restarted, did a factory reset. Worked fine, then same problem again. Checked event log and found no problem at time of freeze.
Returned to Best Buy for another, same model. At home, same problem. Contacted HP support. Spent several hours on phone doing diagnostics and finally a factory reset (via power button and F11). After factory reset, the desktop had a different screen saver with "ASUS" logo in lower right corner. That's like seeing a Chevy logo on a Ford. Same problem happened again. This makes at least six freezes total between the two HP laptops.
Contacted Best Buy Geek Squad. Technician suggested my 6-year-old router could be out of date, suggested I buy new one. I don't think I should have to pay for new equipment based on someone's guess. Contacted HP support. Call was escalated to Karthik who said they'd look into the matter and call back. They agree since both laptops are new, the problem should not be happening.
Call from Jose, HP Corporate case manager. Phone 877-917-4380 x **. Case # **. Jose gave options: 1) return laptop for repair, 2) wait 21 days and they'll build me a custom model to same specs with some upgrades. He thinks my old modem is unlikely to blame. No one knows why the ASUS logo is on the HP desktop. I told him I'd see what Best Buy will do for me. Since problem happened with two HP15-d035dx laptops, it seems probable it will happen with any this model; I am not going to try a third HP15-d035dx. Since no one can explain it and since problem has cost me 12 hours I'd like Best Buy to upgrade me to a better laptop at no extra charge.
Just returned from Best Buy. Supervisor refused to upgrade me to better laptop unless I paid the difference. I reminded him of the inconvenience caused by his 3 defective products and he said I was lucky to have the option to exchange it. Imagine that: Best Buy thinks it's doing me a favor by letting me exchange 3 faulty products within a week of purchase. Another salesman tried to upsell me by saying how cheap these laptops are. Since they would not give me what I wanted, I caved in and paid an extra $20 for a Asus laptop X550CA (that makes $349) without the bundled mouse, thumb drive, or virus software like with the HP bundle for $329. I am angry that Best Buy would not absorb even $20 for my troubles. Oh, also this laptop has Windows 8, not 8.1 like the HP. Oh, this laptop has only 2 USB ports on left side, plus they're crowded next to the headphone jack.
Computers are complex machines, I get it. It's easier and more practical to just get a new one rather than spend hours trying to diagnose. But I am on my FOURTH Best Buy laptop in 2 weeks. The minute anything goes wrong with this thing, I'm returning it to Best Buy and will not shop there again. I think 4 tries is enough, don't you?

On 2/5/2012, I purchased a refrigerator and stove with a protection plan. The stove legs were broken and replacement was arranged yet not delivered until 2/28/2012. Within the first year, the refrigerator stopped working for more than a week. We waited for repair and was finally replaced which resulted in additional costs to me. Just this year, my stove required repair. The repairman that visited our home was not very knowledgeable and had to make several trips to finally complete the repair, and it is still not working correctly. During this recent lengthy repair of my stove I received a renewal for my protection plan.
Knowing I had these issues so far, it only made sense that I renew this plan. I had phoned the Geek Squad to renew the plan, provided my payment information and expected this was handled. When I called back a month later to schedule a repeat service call for the stove, I was told my protection plan was canceled. When asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told there was documentation of my call and a new access code would be issued to correct the situation. After three days, I phoned again to follow-up only to be told again my plan was canceled and could not be renewed because I did not act within the time frame.
I spent 5 hours trying to reach a supervisor or manager in an attempt to resolve the issue. Each time, I was told I was being transferred to a supervisor and was placed on hold for 15 to 20 minutes and then the phone began to ring. After 40 minutes of ringing the phone just disconnected. This was done 4 times. I went to the store where I purchased the items - they could do nothing to assist. I finally called Best Buy directly and was told I would need to contact the Consumer Relations Department to begin a more in-depth investigation and there would be no guarantee the matter would end differently. We will see.
They did not deliver a working stove for over a month and yet they are denying me the ability to renew my protection plan because one of their employees did not complete the transaction on the day I called to renew and are now claiming I was too late in following up. As others have mentioned, Best Buy could be the only store on the planet that sells a product I need. I will go without before I buy from them again.

Best Buy in Aberdeen, NC has the worst customer service in the world. From the Geek Squad up to the store manager, they spoke very rudely to my wife in which I take great offense!! If I spoke to anyone in that manner I would be fired! Whatever happened to true customer service? The store manager Bobby told my wife “he was going to escort her out of the store". To me any time you escort someone that involves physical contact! The upper management classes at Best Buy may need to cover self control and customer appreciation. This store is a disgrace to our community of Aberdeen and Southern Pines. The US Open will be held here soon and I will do my best to inform all welcome visitors to stay clear of this money hungry, poorly trained establishment.
Best Buy's reply: "This is certainly disappointing to read and I am sorry that the service provided by the Aberdeen store has not been what we expect from members of our team. I can certainly understand how frustrating it would be to hear something like this and we will definitely be passing this along to the regional management team so hopefully these issues will be addressed soon. Thank you very much for taking some time to share this experience with us today and hopefully you can give us a chance to make this right sometime in the future."

Made the mistake of purchasing my wife a new SPRINT phone at Best Buy in March 2013. The salesperson convinced me to switch "protection" from the Sprint Total Equipment Protection that we'd had for years to the Best Buy "Performance Service Plan," since it was "better" and, according to him, they typically simply replaced phones rather than waste time with complicated repairs. He failed to mention that the Best Buy coverage, which was actually more expensive, did not cover "Loss or Theft," the main issues we were concerned about.
Was not given a copy of the agreement at purchase, but simply told it would be emailed to me. What was emailed was just a copy of the receipt. The phone is now stolen, not covered, and am told that there is no "refund" on the $10.00/month paid from my credit card even though we no longer have the phone. Yes, BUYER BEWARE... but having purchase many computers, appliances, TVs, and electronics at Best Buy over the years, I let my guard down. I do feel systematically scammed.

Have had the insurance policy with Best Buy Mobile for several years now. My debit card gets cancelled by my bank (because of the whole Target cc mess), I miss 3 automated payments because I got a new debit card, and then my insurance gets cancelled. I take some responsibility with not updating my new cc info, but with the automated monthly payments, I don’t get bills or invoices of any form. So it's one of those things that is out of sight, out of mind. My biggest issue however was they only send 1 email stating I missed these payments. I NEVER got this email. And that's that... my insurance plan got cancelled and they won't renew it unless I go buy a new plan through them (more $$$). The worst part was talking to the customer service reps/supervisors/managers. They are like robots with their responses. I'm done with Best Buy for my cell phone services.
