    Customer service is easy when when all goes well. A true test of customer service is when a customer has a question or problem. So here's the issue, I ordered a dishwasher in September and they show it in stock. I choose this unit due to it being in stock. So far so good. They charge my credit immediately and we are off the the races. The next day they let me know it will be 4-6 weeks, okay I can live with this timeline, but they didn't credit back my card. 9 weeks, yes I said NINE WEEKS goes by and I request a delivery date, they tell me it will be a bit longer. I request someone give me a call to discuss my options. It's been 2 weeks and 3 requests for a call and no call. We are at 12 weeks now and my order tracking is saying January 1st. They have my $$ and they have no desire to make a call to discuss. This is how you can determine if a company has quality customer...on not.

    Ordered a Cafe appliance package in July and then immediately learned that the items I was told were in stock were back-ordered. Was given false delivery dates every month and was given no warning when appliances did not show up. Sales rep was completely unresponsive and it was impossible to get management to address my concerns - customer service said they were too busy to return my calls. Was also charged for the full package which should not have happened until the items were in stock to ship. Took forever to get my money back. Don't waste your time.

    I ordered a Beko refrigerator from this company without any issues, after ordering it from 2 other companies and could not get it after months even though it said it was in stock. I ordered from A J Madison and it arrived within the shipping time they gave me and was not damaged in any way. The company they contracted with for delivery was very professional and came within the 2 hour timeframe that the promised. I was surprised at the reviews I read, I was impressed with this company especially during a pandemic. I will use them for future orders.

    AJ Madison does not know how to treat a customer. I ordered a dishwasher +delivery and installation. When the delivery men came late the first time they brought a dented appliance. When they arrived late for the second delivery attempt the installer informed me he could not install the appliance because they do not offer the kit required for my pipes. AJ Madison wants to charge me a 15% restocking fee to return the dishwasher. There was never any mention of an installation kit that would or would not fit in my kitchen. Had they bothered to ask we would have purchased from someone who did have the correct kit. I do not often write negative reviews, but it is obvious that true colors shine in a pandemic. Keep in mind the dishwasher never even came out of the box.

    I have tried to contact AJ Madison almost every day for a freezer that was delivered that never worked. After waiting over an hour on hold every time the system hangs up. One time they put a service request in and 3 weeks later still have heard nothing. Emailing goes the same way. After 2 weeks someone finally replied to an email and then said they were looking into it. No follow up since (besides mine of course). The worst company ever.

    This review isn’t so much on a product, because most of what they sell you can get anywhere. This review is based on their customer service. While they may have good prices their customer service is horrendous. I bought a Kucht 36 inch chef stove in February 2018 with a 3 year extended warranty at about $150. The simmer burners have gone bad and constantly click when the flame is too low and now the stove will not come on. I contacted AJ in August. Apparently the warranty is outsourced and the company New Leaf will not touch the product until the manufacturer's warranty expires. It took me over two months to get this information. Neither company was good about calling or emailing back.

    Why wasn’t this explained to me initially when they took the $150? Now I am stuck trying to get a hold of Kucht (with little success so far) to get my stove fixed before Thanksgiving. For me it's really not about the price of the warranty, it's about the lack of communication and initial honesty. A company should not take someone's money on a warranty knowing it cannot be used if the manufacturer's warranty supersedes it.

    NEVER use AJ Madison! they are terrible! Horrible wait times on the phone. My average was over 1 hour and I've had to make many calls. No knowledge of backorder items relayed to customer. Over half of my items arrived damaged. Appliance packaging very weak. Range arrived damaged and missing parts. No communication from AJ Madison regarding my damage refund request.

    Ordered downdraft since they have a stock. Shipping happened much later than expected. I try to call customer service and never answered. I finally talked with person 1h 48m wait. I think they are making money with restocking fee. Use well known store. Lesson learned.

    I chose to buy a washer and dryer from this unknown (to me) company. I live in Maryland and never saw or heard of AJ Madison. But because customer service is very important to me, I did several web searches and AJ Madison kept scoring very high. I really wonder about that now. My washer and dryer set with pedestals and hook up cables/cords and stainless steel water hoses, totaling $2,713.17 obviously matters to just about nobody except me. I simply wanted to ask that the delivery people hook up the dryer (not the washer) and haul away the old washer (not the dryer). Incidentally, this is not a free service. They don't deliver for free, hook up for free or haul for free. I am most willing to pay. But they can't handle that because my job does not allow me to call when their customer service department is open.

    So even though most companies can allow employees of any department to add such info to an order (remember this is $ for the company) AJ Madison can't handle it. BTW I called several days but never even got an individual who acted as though they gave a ** until one woman actually offered to put me in contact with a "manager." Unfortunately, he was exactly like the other 3 or4 except this one woman. Wish I knew her name but she was in Tyson, Va.

    So to sum up, highly overrated company... poor customer service. Will definitely not use them again. Obviously, I will be paying to have someone hook up and haul. I already had a hookup person scheduled, I just thought AJ Madison should get the chance to have the business. My plumber was the one who told me that these guys are totally used to hauling away and he'd be shocked if they said no. Well, I hope he's not too shocked when he finds out he's being paid for this part, too.

    I ordered a dishwasher from AJ Madison bc they were the only site that had the model I wanted in stock. After several calls and emails it turns out they never had it in stock and it was on back-order. Sadly they are still representing it as being in stock on their website which should be reason enough to never use this company. I ordered on 09/01, today is 10/14 and the website still says "processing". Their customer service apparently has no record of allocation order and is still unable to give me an ETA after 45 days. While I understand the 2020 supply chain is abnormal it's really messed up to not let customers know if things are on back-order, especially expensive home appliances. The only reason I used this company was b/c all the other big box stores were out of stock. I should've known better...

    To make a long story short, we needed to buy a whole set of appliances for our new house but needed to be able to cancel the order when we received notice from our builder that they found appliances and could install them in time for our closing date. After 30 or more mins on hold, I was finally able to talk to a human being. He took my phone number down in case we got disconnected. Well, we did and he never called me back. So a little bit later I called again and was on hold for another 30+ mins and finally got to speak to another sales rep. He was really nice and found me appliances that were available (curse COVID!!). I told him our circumstances, how we needed to be able to cancel the order by Friday, this was a Tuesday, if the builder was able to find appliances for us, and he assured that our appliances wouldn't be shipped until Friday so we had all day Wed and Thurs to cancel.

    Well, early Thursday morning I received an e-mail stating our appliances were shipped and the payment of over $7800 posted to our account. I immediately got on the phone to talk to a customer service rep to cancel the order. It took me 1 hour and 15 mins to talk to someone. I told the rep the situation, she asked me who I worked with, I told her, and then she tried transferring me to him but he wasn't there so I had to start all over again.

    Another 1 hour and 20 mins on hold, I told the next rep my situation, she even tried to transfer me to the sales rep, but I begged her not to so she stayed on the line. She seemed a little perturbed about cancelling but still was able to catch the shipment in time to not have to pay the restocking fee. Which, by the way, is at least 20% as quoted to me by the sales rep but if you look at the fine print, it states 30%. Which 20% for my order was over $1500. However, the customer service rep placed my order on hold...she didn't do what I asked.

    Thinking the "on-hold" status was just a step in the process, a couple days went by, I checked the status of the order and it was still on hold. So once again, I had to wait over 1 hour to speak to a customer service rep and had to explain my situation, once again. She finally cancelled my order. However, that was 5 days ago and we still have not been reimbursed our $7800. So, once again, I'll probably have to wait over an hour to talk to a rep to get my money reimbursed. I AM NEVER DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN!! TOO MUCH HASSLE, IT'S NOT WORTH IT.

    In the middle of the pandemic our 12-year old washer decided to fail, and we decided to purchase a new set. Unable to find the units we wanted locally, we turned to AJ Madison. The purchase transaction was convenient and went smoothly. They admitted they had the dryer in stock, but not the washer, saying it might take 2-3 weeks to receive our appliances. That was July 27th.

    On September 10th, we had heard nothing and I called AJ Madison's customer service line. After over an hour on the phone, the representative offered to replace the appliances with something similar they had in stock, but that didn't work for us, so we agreed to continue waiting. They were able to contact the manufacturer and give us an honest estimate of "late September to early October", and this proved accurate.

    Our appliances were delivered October 1st. We paid for installation and to have the old units carted away, and here's where the problems started. Unfortunately, the installer rushed out of the house without verifying that the new appliances he installed actually worked - turned out our new $1000 dryer did not get hot at all on any setting. He took away our functioning dryer and left us with a defective unit.

    In addition, even though we paid an upgrade charge for things like new steel braided hoses, the installer re-used the 12 year old ones from our old washer... even though the installation instructions he was working from clearly said, "Never reuse old hoses". Our new dryer is one of those requiring a water feed... Instead of installing the parts we paid for, the installer used a few feet of cheap rubber hose he had in his truck to make this last connection.

    About ten minutes after the driver left, it became clear the dryer was defective. We called AJ Madison - after another 90 minute phone call, they told us to go deal with the manufacturer. As you might imagine, paying top dollar for a quality product and getting a unit that's dead on arrival didn't sit well with me. I asked to have them swap the defective unit for a working one, and they refused unless I agreed to pay shipping both ways and a $300 restocking fee.

    We ended up calling our own appliance repair person, who found that the installer not only skimped on the hoses, he used the power cord from our old dryer, and in installing it, he damaged one of the connectors, causing there to be no power to the heating element in the dryer. Thankfully, with the proper power cord, the dryer works fine.

    Nine weeks from the day of our order, we finally have a working washer/dryer. I didn't get the installation parts and hoses I paid for, and it's completely clear to me that I could have done a better job installing the appliances than the service I paid for. Moreso, while I understand that stuff happens, I'm very disappointed in AJ Madison's complete lack of interest in resolving my issue. It's definitely a case of "we got your money - what are you going to do about it?". I've seen good customer service - this isn't it. Bottom line is that I'd rate AJ Madison as "fine" at the point of sale. They did try to substitute an available product when the delay was reported to them, so I don't necessarily blame them for the delay. But their installer is a disaster, and their ability to handle even simple problems like a defective appliance is terrible.

    I ordered a new fridge for my basement, needed to get in touch with customer service but was on hold for 90 minutes, after I had made previous attempts to contact them. It was like a second job to communicate. Emails were never answered and customer service people were rude and dismissive. The trucking company had me on a 8 + hour call back hold the day of delivery. Delivery guys refused to drive after dark even though the delivery window was 6pm-10pm. When they did arrive next morning 2 hours late, they refused to drop fridge on porch and left on driveway in rain. I will never purchase from them again.

    I bought a gas range. It's turned out to be defective. Leaks gas from the control knobs. I wish I'd read these reviews before purchasing from AJMadison. Criminals. Will not accept returns once attempted to install. WTF? How would I know the range was defective until it was installed?!! Bought the extended warranty for whatever good that did me. Was on hold for over an hour. Twice!! Never, never, never buy online from these crooks. I filed a complaint with the BBB and will follow up with our Attorney General's office. I'm also going to contest the charge on my card.

    This company is incompetent at best. Cannot get the order right, delivered damaged goods, and refuse to do anything to rectify the situation or return the items. Communication is non existent, had to make too many calls for service and was constantly placed on hold for long extended periods over 1 hour. You can purchase these products anywhere and AJ Madison is not a good option for consumers. Instead of a resolution they shut you down, refuse to provide any customer service, answer calls, and fix their screw ups. Instead I receive e mails about fees and restocking of stuff they did incorrectly, damaged, and or did not deliver at all.

    They are too busy to help you after the order is placed and you will be on your own. The delivery was way past the times promised, and there is no assistance, tracking showed it as cancelled, and no one has any answers. They will point the finger in every direction and take no responsibility. I would highly recommend using a reputable company to make any purchases over 10$.

    I have been waiting since August 25th for my delivery. It is now September 15th. You can not get anyone on the phone and their tracking service doesn't work. I was on hold for 2 hours. And then they lied. They said they would mark my delivery urgent and it would arrive by Wednesday. That is tomorrow and no one has contacted me. Once they have your money you're screwed. Don't use this company.

    Pleasantly surprised by their quick turn around in helping me procure my order. I ordered a Zephyr Range Hood on 14th of August 2020. Due to COVID-19 the delivery was delayed and scheduled on 8th September by the trucking company who delivers on behalf of AJ Madison (Originally planned for 1st Sep 2020). I called AJ Madison and explained the situation regarding my need to get the order delivered since my kitchen renovation was on the verge of completion. Michelle ** from AJ Madison went above and beyond to work with the trucking company and get my order on time. Really thankful to Michelle and her dedication. Keep up the great work! The 4 star instead 5 is because they overpromised on delivery of 2 weeks when they clearly knew that they cannot meet the deadline.

    I bought a 12v refrigerator/freezer over 2 weeks ago. They took my money right away; got a shipping confirmation. The last communication I received from them was Aug 21. On Sept 3 I called the. To find out we’re the fridge was. Was first told it was delayed because it had to be ordered from manufacturer; didn’t make sense because it was an open box item. Was then told that it had been damaged and that I could now purchase one at full price. I asked to speak with a manager. I was very upset, because had I not called they were not going to call me, but took my $800!!! The manager said they didn’t have any thing to replace it with.

    When I informed him his website said different he email the warehouse manager to make sure they still had it. He took my number and was suppose to get back to me. It is now 2 days later and still haven’t heard back!!! It also took me waiting an hour and 10 minutes just to speak to the first person I spoke with. Was on the phone for 2 hours total!! I tried calling yesterday and today put their offices are closed!! Will have to go through this all again on Tuesday because Monday is a holiday. I feel like I got the bait and switch. If not resolve by Tuesday will be calling the BBB and state attorney general!!! Scam company!

    Defective product and no customer service to remedy the situation. After a 47 minute hold time on 7/14/2020 and a promise to call me back and again a 52 minute hold time and a promise to call me back, and two separate emails on 7/16/2020 & again on 8/14/2020, I have not received a single call to resolve the defective Faber Maestrale 10 that I paid close $1000. The control switches for the fan and light are not wired properly: in other words, the fan switch controls the light and the light switch controls the fan. For the price of the product, this should be correct. Order #**.

    Do not waste your time on this company. I wasted over a month trying to make a purchase with this company. Customer service is non-existent. You can only get through to sales. I ended up canceling my entire order before I was charged. I don't even have the energy to explain the countless weeks I spent trying to get a hold of them & get things going. Every bad review for them is completely accurate. Do not trust them. I was sucked in by their great prices & financing option. If you like being stuck on hold for over an hour every single time you contact customer service, just to be transferred to a voicemail.. this company is it. It's so sad.

    I did hear from their sales team that they are so swamped with customer calls. They need to hire more employees if they ever want to be successful. I think this company either needs to shut down for their negligence OR only sell to people in New York. So the customers can actually go in physically. I am SO THANKFUL they didn't charge me yet after weeks. I canceled the credit card as soon as I got so fed up & also saw all the horrific reviews from people experiencing the same problems I was. There was only one super helpful person through this whole transaction & I sure hope she quits. This company is done.

    Neither installers nor salesperson understood the product. Received washer and dryer with opposite door swing (we were never asked which swing we wanted). Installers not qualified. Confusion about install incl. not knowing to plug one in to the other. We had to call mfr for help. 3 install attempts and were told door swing couldn’t be changed without possibility of leakage.

    I ordered a $2800 GE Advantium built in microwave and was told it would be delivered in a week. Still waiting for it to arrive. I never received a tracking number or email notification that it was shipping or anything. The first microwave I ordered was damaged and I had to send that one back. I will never order from them again. I should have ordered it straight from GE. A lesson learned!

    Tl;dr AJ Madison took my order and brushed their hands off of the affair, throwing me to an incompetent delivery company. I purchased a fridge on July 7. Since there's a pandemic going on, I was fine with it being shipped out on July 20. They said the delivery company, AM Trucking, will contact me via email/phone at least a day prior to delivery date to confirm. It seemed weird to have everything up in the air like that, but I figured it was because of the pandemic.

    By July 30, I heard nothing. I called AJ Madison, was put on hold for almost an hour, then was hung up on. I sent them an email asking about it instead. They told me to contact the trucking company since they couldn't do anything. On July 31, a Friday, an email miraculously appeared from AM Trucking, asking me to confirm the delivery date on the morning of August 4 or else it'd be canceled. I'd be working 4 hours away in another state at that time.

    I called AM Trucking, was on hold for more than an hour. The automated voice said, "Hang up and we'll call you back at the order your call was received." I did that when I was the 12th person in line, and called them again after 40 minutes of waiting. Put on hold, got in line, etc etc again, and still didn't get a call from them at all. I finally got to a lady who said she'd put in a request to change my delivery time to afternoon of August 4. She said AM Trucking would contact me on Monday August 3 to confirm.

    On Monday August 3, I called AM Trucking at 9:30 am to ask about a new delivery time. I had to wait an hour. The rep said they'd send me an email in the afternoon. I called them again at 5 pm after getting nothing. I had to wait 45 minutes, was a couple seconds late to answer the call when someone picked up, and got hung up on after they bothered to say hello once. Got back in line for another half hour, already sick of it.

    The rep said the manager did not response to my request. I'd have to accept the delivery for morning August 4, when I'd be out of town, or live without a fridge until August 10. After I explained to her that it'd be difficult for me to cut my business short and drive 4 hours in for an 8 am delivery, she said my slot would most likely be 10 am. I had no choice but accept.

    Two hours later, I got a call from the delivery guy telling me to be there at 7:30 am because I'd been bumped to their first stop in the morning. And again, I had no choice but to accept. I am sick of AJ Madison and their trucking company of choice. They are unresponsive and need to be pursued relentlessly to give answers that should have been clear in the first place.

    I ordered a complete Bosch appliance set on June 16th and I understand we have COVID induced supply disruptions/delays. At some point I was told items arrive mid July, which is fine. End of July I started calling and emailing them. Call queue was virtually infinite and once I made it I was pushed back into the queue effectively waiting for hours to gain in the end no information on order status. Chat option was particularly useless as they just provide a phone number to yet enter another queue.

    In view of not being able to get any status update and no email response I decided to cancel, at which point things seemed to gain traction. Effort was made to obtain information and prevent cancellation. I finally could cancel the order explicitly referring to consumer rights and simply insisting. It may be useful to note that this company did, in my particular case, not provide any customer service and is very difficult to reach. Furthermore care has to be taken in order to obtain a cancellation, they push and mislead to keep their sale.

    We ordered a Whirlpool microwave online from AJ Madison in late July 2020, and received the product within 5 business days. The product was delivered intact and appeared new, in the factory packaging. However, upon first inspection, the door latch was defective, and it would not open. Re-boxed the microwave and called AJ Madison to initiate the return process. After 22 minutes on hold, the CSR spoke with us for 3 minutes, and wanted us to unbox the microwave again to take a video of the door latch not functioning, to prove our claim that the microwave was defective.

    We simply refused and stated we wanted to return and replace this unit. After another 25 minute hold, the CSR indicated she issued a UPS call tag to pickup the defective unit, but could not ship a replacement unit until a month later, due to item out of stock. We wanted to talk with the sales department to find another microwave that is in stock, so the CSR transferred us and put us into another phone queue! An hour into this process, we could no longer hold on the phone, and decided to call back another day.

    Today we called back, and was on hold for 17 minutes, spoke with someone in Sales about purchasing a different unit shown in stock on their website. He then indicated that they would not ship the unit separate from the trim kit, and the trim kit is out of stock.     THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. After spending thousands of dollars buying appliances from AJ Madison in the past ten years I recently purchased a $4000 refrigerator from them. I don't know if this is true, but it seemed to me that once they got my money they didn't care about the needs of this customer anymore. They would not confirm a date for delivery. (They gave me two dates--I needed to know which date it would be.)

    I called and left messages asking for help from John ** who sold me the unit. He never called me back. I sent email messages to him asking for help and information regarding the delivery. He never replied to my email messages. I called and left messages asking for help from Customer Service. They never called me back. I also sent a half a dozen email messages to Customer service asking for help regarding the delivery. They never replied to my email messages.

    The day before the first delivery date I was given, I finally had to block my Amex payment because I didn't want them surprising me by delivering it when I was at work. Only three weeks later did Customer Service call me asking when I wanted the unit delivered. By then I would have preferred to build my own refrigerator rather than having any more to do with their company. Maybe new management has taken over, I don't know. It was a terrible, frustrating, time-wasting experience with them.

    I ordered a fridge from AJ Madison and was told it would be on a truck and on its way to me the following day. I had explained that I was in a pressing situation because my fridge was no longer working. I went with AJ Madison because I trusted the salesman's lie that it would get to me quickly. I am now 2 weeks out and the scam trucking company they use, (See AM Trucking reviews for reference) and my delivery has been cancelled on twice with really sketchy excuses. Both AJ Madison and AM Trucking have teamed up for the worst and most dishonest service I've ever received. Please do not use AJ Madison because you'll get burned twice by their horrible customer service and the incredibly inept and deceitful work of AM Trucking. I wish I had reviews before making this purchase! Oh, and they've had my money for several weeks too! I shouldn't have been charged until this fridge was delivered.

    I call AJ Madison to inquire about purchasing a dishwasher. I was told by the sales rep that the dishwasher was in stock and would ship that day. Three hours later I got an email saying the shipment would be delayed a week or more, and to call customer service to inquire about expedited delivery. I sent an email to the help desk and called customer service the next day. After waiting 45 minutes on hold I asked the customer service rep about expedited delivery. She said the item had been picked up and gave me AM Trucking's website and tracking number. The website said "awaiting pickup." I waited to the next day and the website still said awaiting pickup and the delivery window was 2 weeks from the order date!! This is from NJ to VA!! The sales rep LIED.     Run don't walk away from doing business with this company. Ordered washer/dryer. Dryer was refused at delivery since it was damaged in top over control panel- metal crushed and displaced yet came in a new box. Accepted washer with pedestal which fell apart on second day (front pedestal panel fell off and metal clip to attach to washer is crushed flat so can not replace front panel of pedestal). Washer with broken control panel, ding in side and vibrates out of place if used, very loud boom when changing gears during spin. Company refuses to credit my credit card, refuses to exchange washer for another- wants to fix here at house but control panel is not available with no date when it will be.

    I wait 1 1/2 hour in phone tree only to have customer service hang up and I have to start all over. Most times you will be 15 calls plus higher in phone tree waiting for customer service, they promise to email or call back with resolution of the problem but never do follow up. I am in limbo.... They refuse to pick up the machine and will not return money I spent. It is such a nightmare!!!!

    I was scheduled for a delivery of an oven yesterday between 2:30 and 6:30 pm. At 2:30 yesterday they called and the driver did not come in so it was rescheduled for the same time today. At 9:30 a message was left on my phone that they were on the way. At 10 am they stopped and not one home. After waiting on line for 45 minutes I was told they would get back to me. 5 hours later I called and they said they would not be back for a week. So now I have an oven pulled out and waiting for the new one and they cannot give me a date when I will get one. They said they would not be in the area for another week.     Purchase $30,000 plus in appliances and have no service. I have written and called customer service several times now. I even purchased a warranty on my appliances and spent 800 on that. AJ Madison sent me a wine cooler that I had ordered that had an incorrect door swing. I had asked them on the phone, can I exchange the unit if we find out the door swing just won’t work. He told me I could. AJ Madison did not believe me so they went back to listen to recordings and found out they DID indeed tell me that. They ended up exchanging the unit, which ended up not working and now will not honor the warranty that we paid for because they did not update the serial number so it is incorrect on the paperwork. Nobody will return a phone call or email and now we have a $3500 wine cooler that does not function. The only thing that is different is the door swing.

    We own 2 nyc apartment buildings. This is important to mention, since we buy lots of appliances, they need to be well built, dependable and we need to be able to access reliable companies if/when appliances go wrong. The rents are expensive and if the appliances let us down, it makes us look like disreputable landlords. Our business depends on these simple facts/ principles. We've bought from AJ before, had some issues, but never quite this bad...

    Everything seemed to go wrong. We see that many other reviewers had the same exact issues that we've had... We bought 2 pricey acs. Nowhere on the website did it mention that we'd have to take apart the units to remove parts before being able to use them. On opening them, it was clear that they'd been used. Seals were broken, etc. We struggled and struggled. We were terrified of damaging the units, as would affect our ability to return them. We went through the lunacy of calling customer services. We literally waited for 48 minutes for an agent. She was rude, unhelpful and lacking technical advice. She offered to extort more cash from us to arrange an installer. She added insult to injury.

    We phoned up the manufacturer, Frigidaire. We simply got through to a recorded message which referred us to Youtube!! Then we found out about the 30% restocking fee! What complete bs. No reason for it, except to prevent any returns and steal/ganev some extra profits. Ludicrous. Shameful. We got no phone call (as requested) to book delivery. Some loon simply showed up at our home at 7.30 am, pounding on our door. Yes, we were still in pjs as had no appt. We left an appropriate review on AJ's website reviews. Surprise, surprise, it's nowhere to be found. Absolutely shameless. Beware beware beware...

    Am completely shocked at what happened this morning with my delivery of my oven from AJ Madison. Yesterday, I received notice that my delivery was scheduled for today and that the driver would contact me about 60 minutes before arrival. I intentionally kept my gas oven hooked up to ensure we had some ability to heat up stuff on the top burners at least.

    I received a phone call this morning from the driver saying he was 5 minutes away from my home. I quickly disconnected the gas line and unplugged the oven from the wall, just as the driver pulled up to my home. I waved to him and he waved back, with the other delivery guy looking on. I went back into my kitchen and started to move the oven out into more of an open space to help the removal for them. Next thing, the guy opens my storm door (without a mask...during a time of a global pandemic!) and begins to ask if I had the oven...THAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DELIVER! WTF??!! So, it turned out that they DID NOT have my oven on their truck!

    I received a call from a woman from the trucking company telling me that they are not sure what happened and they are emailing somebody. They said that they can not deliver my oven until possibly Monday (it is now Saturday) and I am now unable to use my oven at all. I tried to contact AJ Madison, but guess what?? They are closed on Saturdays! This is my first time buying from AJ Madison and probably the last too. This is craziest experience I ever had with any purchase, by far!

    I called for assistance regarding a Miele combination steam oven. A customer service representative by the name of John said he'd e-mail me some recommendations and pricing. I never received it and called back the following day. I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes without any further information. I do not think I was given accurate information about the oven I was interested in, and I do not feel that I have received good customer care. I cannot recommend this company with the lack of communication and knowledge that some have shown during a product inquiry period. Some products are really expensive and understandably so; however, I would not feel confident using a company with this customer service ethic. Look elsewhere!

    I ordered an expensive dual fuel range, refrigerator, and ductless hood for over the range. After explaining to the salesman I knew little about ductless hoods, he directed me to the product he said would fit best. I ordered it based on his recommendation. My contractor started doing the work in the kitchen, which require cutting out some cabinets for the hood, and it turned out the ductless kit was not included. The salesman assured me the "charcoal kit" I purchased was the ductless kit. He was wrong. I have run into a stone wall at AJ Madison trying to correct this problem. At one point, they punted and told me to call the manufacturer of the hood to see if it had the kit. The manufacturer told me that I wasn't supposed to call it directly, and that they could not sell me the kit, and that I needed to have AJ Madison take care of the problem.

    I called AJ Madison back and they have done nothing. I was told that maybe the kit is no longer available (then why did they sell me that hood?) but they would find out immediately. Days later, I cannot get an answer from AJ Madison. This whole process has taken weeks since my contractor first started taking apart my kitchen, but AJ Madison will not help solve the problem it created. The hood cannot be returned as it was already installed when the missing kit was discovered. If the kit is not available, i will have to start over and buy an entirely new hood. However, since AJ Madison will not get back to me, I don't know what to do. I have had several prior good experiences with the company, but this is unforgivable and a deal breaker. I will never use them again for anything. Zero stars.

    Ordered accessories for sink per manufacturer's web site, but were wrong size when arrived. No packing slip in or on box, so called customer service to get return label. It was then I was informed about the 30% restocking fee. You have to go to bottom of their web page, click on return policy, and almost to bottom of that page does it state the 30% restock policy. Nowhere on invoice is it stated. Customer service then emails you, you have to state you agree to return policy and send photos of products your are returning to see, at their discretion, if they can be returned, then will process a return authorization number. What a crock. Told customer service AJ Madison would get a bad review. As an interior designer, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

    We ordered a Bosch Fridge/Freezer from AJ Madison. As the driver was attempting to pull into our drive, he backed into a light pole owned by the community. We followed the claims process with AJ Madison and trucking company, but after four weeks of non action, they denied the claim stating we did not let them fix the pole. The trucking company was AM Home Delivery, and they are crooks. No question about fault, but deny the claim! These lights were a safety issue for our neighborhood, and their lack of action is the reason the HOA moved forward with repairs. AJ Madison, who we purchased the appliance from, completely washed their hands of any responsibility as well. Will never do business with these companies, and will warn everyone I know to do the same.

While the employees are nice, they are hamstrung by company policy, which is AWFUL. I have a problem and they will not accept any responsibility for the mistake. I just spent $35,000 and they want, in order to swap for the correct appliance, a freezer, a 30% restocking fee. Bear in mind, they RECORD ALL PHONE CONVERSATIONS.     I phoned AJ Madison to get information regarding the possible purchase of a GE Cafe range. The salesperson looked up the product and gave me the price. I confirmed with him that the shipping was free and he also stated they are the largest appliance dealer in the country. He then asked me if I was interested in purchasing the appliance. Having never purchased an appliance over the internet, I asked him what the difference was between ordering from them on-line versus going to a local appliance dealer other than a $50 difference in the price. Hello, hello, hello. ironically the sales representative line had 'dropped' right after I asked this question. Clearly I'm going to the local retailer - especially for the small difference in price.

    I spent approximately $50K and purchased luxury appliances for my new home and an apartment at AJ Madison. They saved me a lot of money and I thought I was getting a great deal. The problems started with delivery and installation. AJ Madison sent unqualified crews to install my high-end appliances. They arrived in April and I have been fighting them ever since. The first crew did not speak English, shoved my Miele built-in refrigerator and freezer into the cabinet space without handles, cut a custom vent rendering it unusable, punctured my $15K American Range (AJ offered me $200.00 to compensate), installed the Wrong refrigerator in the apartment, and damaged every appliance they supposedly professionally installed.

    I have months of emails where I have been patiently trying to work with Gitty at Customer Service, but the only time she responds is when I email executives, Ilan ** and Joseph **. Michelle promised to refund my extended warranties, but refuses to send me my money and Gitty tried to trick me into registering these same warranties. When I ask about my refunds, or compensation for the damage they caused, they ignore the emails. Just about Every Appliance I purchased ***New*** has broken within the first three months. They do not stand behind their products. Honesty is not in their vocabulary (I have emails from them with outright lies). I've been struggling with AJ Madison for eight months; the stress put me in the hospital. I recommend spending a little more money and getting true value. This company is not worth the apparent savings.

    I contacted customer service because I felt $30.25 was too much to charge for shipping an item weighing less than 2 lbs to the lower 48 states. The customer service person offered me $10 as a shipping charge. I made sure that she knew that this was for an open box item. She said it would apply for that as well as she would get me to the correct sales person to take the order. The sales person said they would only do the lower shipping on a new item, and I would need to pay the $30.25 as I was getting a good discount already. Result for them (over $20.25) is lost sale, and damage to company's reputation. I have never heard of a company not backing an offer made by their own customer service department before. I felt very embarrassed for the young lady that gave me the offer, and I hope she finds a new job at a company that stands behind its commitments.

    Worst online shopping experience ever. I am a real estate developer and placed a small order for 2 refrigerators, 2 stoves, a microwave good, stove hood, and a dishwasher. They claimed my CC wasn't working and called me about it. During that call I was told the dishwasher was on back order. They wanted me to change to a cheaper model, and I did. They did not credit me. They also recommended I pay extra for White glove delivery since I wanted the products asap. I did as well. I was told that it would process and be ready for shop the next day. That was Sept. It is Nov now and I've each of the last three days on job site waiting.

    It never comes and after delivery window I call and they say the next day each time. I also receive a new email to confirm next day delivery. No help from worthless idiots at AJ Madison. Solomon is a liar and scumbag. Don't buy or believe a word they print or say. Now trying to cancel and order elsewhere after waiting on these jerks for months.

    The other poor reviews are correct - they deliver damaged products (intentionally?) and will cause weeks if not months of delays and excuses before you get what you ordered. Be ready to have your credit card charged for orders you did not place and deny acceptance when they appear at your front door. Your appliance will definitely be damaged in some way (our $5k 36" range had the glass door shattered) and the delivery company will assure you to install it and someone can easily repair it. DENY ANY DAMAGED UNIT FROM ENTERING YOUR HOUSE! The months of coordination to fix something will make you want you regret ever using them.

    I bought a range/hood set for 3200.00 and had it delivered to our current home in Conn. Planning to install it after we moved. When the stove was un-packaged for installation two years later we discovered the side was smashed in and the stovetop burner parts broken.     AJ Madison has proven themselves to be one of, if not the, least professional business I’ve ever worked with. On October 1st, my wife and I ordered a washer dryer from them for approximately $1700. She listed weekends and afternoons for potential delivery times. A few days later they said they were about to deliver the item. It was Monday at 10 am. We are both full time teachers and were (as most people are, at that time) at work.

    We’ve spent the last 3 weeks trying to reschedule a delivery. They will not deliver past noon. They would not deliver any time on a Wednesday when I had the entire day off from work. Worse still, this company is evasive and completely unreasonable to contact. We’ve emailed with them approximately 8 times. They’ve sent 3 responses. We’ve called upwards of 10 times, and only gotten through once. I’ve called at 4 pm on a Thursday “During regular business hours” and been told “to email or call back”. The only time I was able to speak with a human (after waiting 35 minutes on hold) the line immediately went blank after I expressed my complaint.

    When we requested a refund (we still don’t have the appliances, they were never delivered) they have charged us a “30% restocking fee.” We are out almost $500 for a product we literally never saw, or were offered any flexibility around receiving. Again, this has been an unbelievably frustrating and unjust interaction. I am completely disappointed with AJ Madison.

    We order a dishwasher, including the installation and the extended guaranty. The installation of the appliance was terrible, very unprofessional and the appliance is not well installed.     The product was boxed properly but nothing was secured inside the big truck. When they opened the door I noticed nothing inside the truck was secured. AJ's delivery partner, AM Home Delivery, delivered our product the first time and their calling system doesn't work at all, called me couple time but when I picked up the phone, no one speaking. And when I call them, their customer service attitude was the most terrible in the world. So they took our stuff away. They said it has to be rescheduled and there will be a $75 extra charge. Just feel like if we don't pay, we will never get our products.

    I claimed this issue to AJ Madison, they said they will try to contact AM see what's going on, and will call me back. Until the second deliver time, they never call me. And AM call me that they will deliver for the second time. However, when my contractor met them, they ask for the extra charge. When my contractor called me, they just took our product away again! This was the most terrible thing I have seen. And it highly hold off our construction process.

    And the third time, not to mention how bad I feel when I work with them to get them deliver again and I had to pay the extra money, when they arrive at our home, they don't even want to wait for us to come down and just left our products on the walk way. And I complained this issue to AJ again, not to mention how hard to get a real person to talk to me, they said they will deal with it and I didn't hear any feedback at all again! So please don't waste your time, money and energy on these guys. Just go buy products somewhere else!!!

    Purchased 8/28/19, received order confirmation email 8/29/19 with ship date of 8/29/19. 8/29/19 11:23 am received shipping confirmation email stating ship date of 8/29/19 with notes stating please allow 2-4 business days for product to be shipped. Credit card charged full amount on 8/30/19. Last date products should have shipped, including Labor Day holiday, would be 9/5/19. No tracking information given, ever. Checked order status online beginning 8/30/19 - says "shipped." Emailed AJ Madison 9/8/19 asking for shipping update - no response received. Called customer service 9/11/19, rep states "shipping from Friedrich" today, 9/11/19. Asked what this meant, she states "it's a Friedrich order so it's shipping today." I have no idea what this means, so asked to level up to someone else for more info. Remained on hold for 20+ min before AJ Madison dropped call.

    Immediately called back to sales department, asked rep to remain on line, rep hung up. Immediately called back, same reaction. Immediately called back, a different rep placed me into a separate "on hold" area. On hold for 35+ min, then rep states she's contacting Friedrich. Comes back to line and states Friedrich says it was backordered and it will drop ship 9/13/19 from NJ. No notification of this prior. I stated to keep me on hold, call Friedrich back and ask to expedite shipping. She said she would call and contact me back later. I ask again to remain on hold while she calls - she said yes ok, please hold, then hung up. I called back and got the billing hold queue even though I requested "prior orders."

    Woman in billing obviously cannot help, transfers the call elsewhere - random hold area? Yet another rep stated Friedrich does not offer expedited shipping, but items are shipping out 9/13/19. I ask for tracking info, she states once they get it from Friedrich it will be provided to me. I ask be placed on hold again while she calls Friedrich for tracking info. You guessed it - she hung up. Called back, more hold time, asked rep for tracking info, told none available. Asked for Friedrich's phone number, more hold time. She DID come back to the line and give me Friedrich's main line. Called Friedrich - Friedrich stated AJ Madison NEVER placed an order for my items - they have no record. This is deception and fraud. No service, no product, no shipping tracking information, rude customer "service" reps. Right now I'm just out the $4,400. Filed complaint with NY Attorney General. Will dispute credit card charge.

    I placed an order in mid July stating I needed the order delivered 8/16 as we close on a new house that morning which does not come with refrigerators. AJ Madison waited until 8/8 to ship the refrigerators. The trucking company AJ Madison uses was told we needed to have the delivery on 8/16. However, I received an automated phone call today stating that they would be delivering the refrigerators on 8/15 (we do not close until 8/16 so we cannot accept delivery). When I attempted to call the call-back number they gave (and listed in their email), I kept getting a voicemail and no one returned the phone call.

    By the time I reached a human at the delivery company (after Googling a different phone number), they could not deliver until Monday 8/18. We will have to go almost 4 days in our new house without refrigerators. AJ Madison basically said, too bad. I could have ordered one of the refrigerators this morning from Best Buy with a 8/16 delivery but AJ Madison insisted on charging us the 30% restocking fee... which would have been about $900... so we will just have to rough it for four days in the new house and throw out all the food that we currently have in our refrigerator. Very disappointed.

    Absolutely the worst shopping experience ever. Website promised "Quick Ship". Was told I would have the appliance in a few days. Then when I called, I was told the website was inaccurate. I was given 3 different delivery dates. The first time they cancelled stating that the drivers were out to long. The 2nd never happened. Then AFTER I canceled the order, they called to schedule the shipment and then cancelled because the truck broke down. 3 weeks after placing the order they STILL couldn't deliver!! I Ordered from Build.com and my order arrived within 4 days and for LESS $$. Still waiting for refund and hoping I don't have to sue them to receive it.

    I ordered GE slate appliances over Thanksgiving sale. I didn't open them until recently as we were renovating entire house and didn't want to install it and reinstall it. Microwave did not work. I contacted AJ Madison (which is VERY painful, as you spent at least 40 minutes waiting on hold) numerous times to fix the issue. After 7 (!) weeks, they finally submitted a ticket to Samsung to replace the door - however when the mechanic showed up, I had to pay for the panel ($390) or he wouldn't install it. I will never buy from them again - and if you consider doing so because they are cheaper - it will cost you more in the end.

    This is without a doubt the most frustrating customer service experience I’ve ever had. I ordered a washer and dryer on July 6th, checked every day to see when the order would ship only to see “verifying CC” every single time I checked. Finally, after giving them a week to verify my banking information (which was all correct-funds present in the account, shipping and billing information correct, etc.), I decided to call. And thus began the biggest headache EVER. I I left a voicemail with the billing department-never received a response. I called multiple times only to sit on hold forever on my lunch breaks before I was forced to hang up with no resolution.

    The 1 or 2 times I actually did get through to someone, they just transferred me to the billing department which placed me back on hold. I actually had to have a family member call for me after all of my attempts because I had already taken enough time out of my workday to try and get in contact with them, and they were miraculously able to reach the billing department. Here’s what I was told after I was forced to call back as the cardholder and wait on hold AGAIN: AJ Madison can’t verify banking information with Bank of America and I had to either make the purchase on another credit card or email them pictures of my debit card and license with a written statement authorizing the charge. Are you serious? Also, I’d like to add that not one person over the phone or on live chat apologized or acknowledged my many attempts or time wasted trying to resolve this issue.

    Well, until I called them out on it, and then they reminded me via email that “customer service is our top priority. We strive in customer satisfaction. We value every customer and appreciate their business.” I’ll let you decide if you think any of those above statements are true based on my experience. Needless to say, the order is cancelled and I’m taking my business elsewhere. I’m really not the kind of person that writes reviews or complains about bad customer service, but people need to know about the lack of professionalism displayed by this sorry excuse for a company. Don’t purchase from AJ Madison unless you enjoy migraines!

    I purchased gas cooktop online from the BOSCH. BOSCH transferred to their dealer AJ Madison. They sent me a contract, 30% restocking fee, and other draconian conditions. I called AJ Madison to protest this unsigned contract, and their Agent Mr. ** lied and told me that was the manufacturer, and not a dealer, and many other intentional misrepresentations. I refused delivery within 24 hours, but they charged me anyway. Also, the co. sent me e-mail on shipping back their goods not with the same shipper but with the most expensive way possible. I got a very good CAN JOB with a can company.

    Refer product is fine. Delivery was a week later than estimated (estimate was 10 days) and the delivery showed up at the address without any phone contact as promised. I gave them name and number to call prior to delivery. The day of delivery no call, just show up at rental property - surprise tenant - can't get refer to kitchen so they leave in a stair landing. What a mess! I control over 500 rental units in the NE and will NEVER order form AJ Madison again. What a waste of my time and harmful to tenant relationship. Also found the same refer at Lowe's - $100 cheaper - delivered in four days.

    If you make phone orders with AJ Madison Appliances, as I did in ordering a dishwasher, beware of an undisclosed "restocking fee" of 30% that the phone salesperson WILL NOT DISCLOSE ON THE PHONE. And then if something goes wrong (as they could not install the product) they will seek to charge you 30% of your purchase for a product that had to be returned, trying to justify that the fee was mentioned in the fine print of some email that they send you, despite that it was NOT DISCLOSED AT THE TIME OF PHONE ORDER. This is not a consumer-friendly practice, particularly for senior citizens! Consider shopping elsewhere.

    Caution! 1 Star is far too generous. Please do not order online from this company. This is one of the worst online company you can buy an appliance from. They use one of the worst delivery company a consumer can ever work with. AM Home Delivery. I ordered my Frigidaire Refrigerator on May 27, 2019, and it was delivered on June 17, 2019, an entire month later. I had to contact the company by email and received very ugly and distasteful responses. Why was it taking so long to get my merchandise? The website mentions very promising words making you believe you will get your product in a timely fashion, but don't be fooled like I was. After the 3rd week, I called the company to find out when will I finally receive my refrigerator.

    While on the phone with the (CS of AJ Madison) called the delivery company they use and no one picked up the phone to answer. How ridiculous is that? Then she said to me, "I will have to call you back when I get the delivery company." My overall online shopping experience with this company was awful and very bad. I will never use them again and recommend to no one. I do not want this experience to happen to anyone else.

    Please DO NOT purchase from this company! I bought an appliance through AJ Madison’s website that was time sensitive in terms of delivery. The website clearly states that delivery is 5-8 BUSINESS DAYS. When I had not heard anything about where my package was in almost 2 weeks I called AJ Madison, they gave me the number to their shipper stating they have no control over when I will receive my package. I called their shipper, who told me that it would be at least another week until they could manage to attempt my delivery. I called AJ Madison back to ask for an explanation why their website states a 5-8 business day delivery and my package at the soonest would be 15 days, their response to me was that they and their shipping company are Jewish businesses and that multiple Jewish holidays had occurred therefore these days “did not count”. Unprofessional and unacceptable, avoid this company.

    This company uses scam pricing as items that are purchased. LG fridge dropped 500.00 dollars within a day of ordering and not allowed to cancel order. Never received a shipping notification.     After being told it would take 8 to 10 days for delivery my refrigerator showed up a month later damaged. Was told that Samsung would send out technician it also took about a month. Repairman showed up only to take pictures and send Samsung evidence that the doors were damaged after A.J. Madison sent pictures to Samsung as well. It has been since March 25th of this year that I ordered this refrigerator. It is now June 3rd. After ignored emails and broken promises two months have gone by and I still have a damaged refrigerator. Stay away from this place and pay a little bit more at other suppliers. You only get what you paid for at this store. Do yourself a favor and go through Home Depot or Lowe's. At least they stand behind their product.

    Ordered a $7,000 range hood from them. It arrived damaged and it was very obvious that it had been previously installed elsewhere, as there were still remnants of two sided tape on the top of the hood. My S/O had to hound them on the phone for weeks. Finally, they said they would order a new hood, but it would take 12 weeks to make, and replace it. We call them 3.5 months later only to have them say they not only never ordered the hood, but we were now outside of our return window and we were stuck with it.

    Why did they string us along this long? Because they were waiting out the clock for the time frame for us to dispute the transaction with our credit card company, whom we're now having to deal with to try to get them to make an exception to their return window policy because AJ Madison's scam. Don't do business with these New Jersey crooks. Tony Soprano would be proud!

    Be very careful, their delivery is a big con. They told me I would receive the product within 1-2 weeks as it is outside of the New York area. 3 weeks after I purchased the product a delivery company called me and told me I need to come pick up the item from their location about 20 miles away. They refuse to deliver as I live on a cul-de-sac and they will not deliver to a cul-de-sac. Nowhere does it say this while you are purchasing the product and they told me if I cancel I will need to pay 30% of the purchase price and point me to some fine print on the 3rd page of their delivery guidelines on their webpage. I will never ever ever buy anything from this company again. Why can't they be like Wal-mart who acutely care about their customers and doing what they say. Wow. What a bad experience, I can only hope that by writing this I save other the frustration.

    I ordered a Ilve Nostalgie range (special order). I waited four months for it to be delivered. After calling many times I was told my sales rep at AJ Madison that a part was back-ordered and I could not cancel my order. Finally, it arrived and didn't work. A repairman came out to my house three times in the first week because the burners didn't work, the oven would not set at a steady temperature and finally, while the burners were on and gas was coming out, the flame died. It could have started a fire.

    The manufacturer agreed that it was not salvageable and authorized a full refund. That was over one month ago and despite numerous emails etc AJ Madison has only refunded the amount that was charged on the BrandSource card last week after threatening to sue them and has not yet refunded the additional $1498.00 that they owe me. Additionally, I found out later that this range was no longer in production by the maker yet AJ Madison still sold it on their website. It was just recently removed from it.

    I purchased a new LG refrigerator from AJ Madison in February. It took them 2 weeks to ship the new fridge since I am in California. From Day 1, after getting hook up the refrigerator doesn't get cold. AJ Madison refused to send me replacement, they sent 2 different teams of technicians to diagnosis the problem and both reports concluded the fridge has a major seal issue and would need major repair. Since I paid for a brand new fridge, I don't want to settle for a repair when I haven't used the fridge at all. I was so frustrated as they are not responsive and doesn't want to get me a replacement.

    Finally after 10 days back and forth, they agree to send me a new fridge. However, the same fridge is on back order for another 6 weeks. At this point, I can't take it anymore since we have no refrigerator for over 5 weeks. After numerous emails and phone calls, they finally agreed to refund me the full amount so I can buy a new refrigerator locally. As of this writing, I haven't seen a refund yet. AJ Madison customer service is horrible. I would never buy another appliance from this company. I should stick to Costco, Home Depot or Best Buy in the first place as they will provide me a a new fridge the next day if my unit is a defective one.

    We ordered a dishwasher from AJ Madison, what a mistake. We first ordered the wrong dishwasher, which was my mistake. We then ordered the correct dishwasher and were supposed to have it delivered Sat. Feb. 23 between 10-2p. AM Transportation is their shipper and they were awful. They went to a business address that wasn’t even close to our actual residence address and never called when they saw no one was there to receive the shipment even though they had my cell phone on the order. When I discovered their error with their tracking map quickly I called the dispatch number provided and spoke with an agent that sounded asleep or worse. I told him they never came to my house even though it stated “ Unable to complete delivery” on the tracking map.

    He put me on hold and came back a few minutes later and asked if I was a business and told me the address they went to and I told him no I’m not a business and that they went to a totally wrong address. I told him I could see they were still in the area and have them come to the proper address and complete the delivery. He put me on hold again and said a branch manager would be calling. I said just have them come now while they’re close by but he said he’d have the branch manager call. I waited hours and watched the delivery truck icon leave my area. No one ever called!!!

    I was furious. I called AJ Madison and they said I just had to call the shipper and they’d have to work out the delivery. After numerous calls to AM Trans I was first told I would just have to wait until they had another large shipment to my area. I was originally told the following Thursday or Friday then it was Friday or Saturday and finally next Monday or Tuesday, a week and a half after it was supposed to be dropped off and finally it arrived Tuesday. All the while I was expressing my frustration to AJ Madison and they could care less just deal with their shipper which was a joke. I asked for compensation and they offered a paltry discount on the restocking fee, which I thought was high to begin with, for the first dishwasher we ordered to be returned. AJ Madison totally lacks any sense of customer service. Never would I recommend them to anyone.

    When ordering a commercial dryer, we advised the salesperson that we only accept morning deliveries (6.00 a.m.-Noon) due to restricted access to the building. We repeated this to make it clear. The salesperson agreed. We received an email from the company giving us an "afternoon" appointment. I stayed on hold --- and again asked them for a "morning" delivery. Again --- they scheduled an AFTERNOON delivery... Tremendous time was invested in getting them to deliver as we specified and they agreed.

    FINALLY, they agreed to deliver the commercial dryer between 7.45 a.m.-11.45 a.m. We were stunned that they showed up early --- before the time-window they stated ---- and left because we were not there. I spent extended time on the phone with customer service who said, "At times, the drivers run early. It happens." Their solution was to charge re delivery fees (with no guaranty they would show up timely or a restocking fee --- and they said we were lucky they did not pay for storage fees for when they scheduled the delivery wrongly!

    I ordered 3 appliances from these clowns. I have never had a more frustrating experience in my life. In this day and age I don't know how a company like AJ I'm Madison can exist. If I had known how bad their customer service department was I would have spent my money elsewhere. Appliances were ordered, delivery date set up three weeks in advance. The day before that date arrived I was told via email that this date was only the day the appliances would "prepare to ship" FROM THE WEST COAST (I'm on the East coast). Long story short 2 weeks later I finally get the delivery of the three items one of which was DOA. I had to wait another 2-weeks for a replacement to arrive. Several calls to customer service resulted in long hold times and nothing resolved. Do yourself a favor. Don't buy from this shady operation. Don't believe it when the web page says "In Stock Ready To Ship!"

    You need to stop this "Band" to be on the market!!! They are selling used stuff! Customer care is horrible and they never reply to the email. It took almost 2 month to have a dishwasher, one fridge and one stove. The fridge paid $1550 is a model of 1970 and you need to switch on or off with your finger! The dishwasher was used and never worked! After 3 months they sent someone and we realize that was refurbished! Are they still on the market? They need to close as soon as possible. I had only called to inquire about the 5yr warranties and had all appliance info on my computer at home. He talked me through it, getting to the ones I had 'saved' at home. I ordered/paid.     Ordered new high end microwave and cooktop from AJ Madison. They gave me a ship date. Turned out the ship date wasn't to my home, it was to a distribution center. It was two or three weeks later that the center shipped it. My order status said both appliances had shipped. The paperwork that arrived with the microwave said both were being delivered. The cooktop was not on the truck. The microwave was damaged. The door and control panel and the outside microwave case were askew. Delivery problems noted and AJ Madison was called. The AJ Madison agent told me that they would send a new door and someone to put it on. I said no because it was likely the damage was also internal, having taken a hit hard enough to do what it did. I wanted it replaced.

    The agent said if it proved defective then they'd send someone to fix it.??! Now who wants to pay big money for a brand new damaged appliance and then hassle with repairs to it? Not I. So I cancelled my entire order. The damaged microwave was to be picked up, but only after I sent them a picture of the AJ Madison box. Really? So I sent the picture and then they sent me a return UPS label and told me to ship it myself, they weren't picking it up. Continued customer care, right? Not! Wish I'd read the reviews before ordering from them. Do yourself a favor. Find a better place to buy your items. I sure hope the $2600 refund isn't delayed. Will write another review if it is.

    When I ordered my appliance package I was told a date it would be sent. Well it was sent, to a distribution center and sat there until they had other orders going my way. Three weeks later they arrived, one damaged. Now dealing with the repair. Sales person will not call back or pick up my calls. “Customer Service” (ha) has called back once after a number of calls. Said they would send out a new door for the dishwasher ASAP. Then some parts arrive but they are handles for the refrigerator. Called back and no return call as of yet. Now the repair issue is going into its third week. This isn’t customer service or an ASAP response.

    I ordered an air conditioner for my apartment. It took nearly 2 months to arrive and my frequent phone calls to AJ Madison representatives were met with vague disinterest and lies to the point where I wondered if this was a legitimate business or an online scam. I thought once I finally received the air conditioner, I would be done with AJ Madison forever.

    But then I received a FedEx Freight bill for $60. I ignored it for several months, assuming it was a mistake - after all, I had paid for shipping to my home address as part of my purchase. After several more bills appeared, I called FedEx and was told that AJ Madison only covers the shipping freight, and that delivery was required to be paid by the customer. I would recommend ordering your appliances from anywhere but AJ Madison. Their marginally lower prices don't make up for their non-existent customer service, inflated delivery times, and hidden costs to the customer.

    I ordered a washer and dryer 34 days before I wanted it delivered. I was assured by the salesman that that was plenty enough lead time. It took them 18 days just to fill the order. They missed the delivery date by a week (41 days). Both boxes the appliances were shipped in were severely damaged and I insisted that they be opened in the street for inspection. Only the washing machine was undamaged, the dryer appeared to have been speared by a forklift. Once I refused delivery of the damaged appliance the shipping company began lobbying me with offers to rebate part of the purchase price if I would accept the damaged appliance. I held firm, got my money refunded, and bought the exact appliance from Best Buy for a $100 and had it delivered undamaged and ON TIME!

    I made countless phone calls, waiting in the answer queue every time... so many calls in fact I could recognize the voice of the person who had answered. It became evident to me that few people know what they are doing at AJ Madison. All serious questions and problem resolution requests are bottlenecked to the one person who has the authority to solve the problem one way or another... none of them in an expedient manner. The only good thing about doing business with AJ Madison is that they have a lousy “Irate Customer Management Department”. Heed these words and you will undoubtedly avoid a massively frustrating and time wasting experience!

    After several conversations with salespeople, we were assured that the model range hood we were interested in would fit and be perfect! We ordered the hood and installation components. Delivery was late and was missing the installation kit. We waited another week for the installation kit to arrive. The hood did not fit, and when we contacting them about returning the item - not taken out of the box - we were told we would have to put the original package inside another box and ship to them - incurring and additional charge. They charged us a 30% restocking fee - outrageous for this field! They didn't respond to our phone calls and took several days to respond to email. We had to ship within days of our phone call and ensure shipment was not delivered on a Saturday. I should have looked at the reviews prior to purchasing from this company. Go elsewhere.

    I purchased a Summit Wine Cooler, model SWC182ZADA, based on the dimensions mainly: I was not familiar with this brand nor the AJ Madison store in NYC. Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience, and I regret not having researched the store beforehand. The wine cooler arrived Nov. 14th, brand new out of the factory sealed box, but it does not work at all. My immediate call to the store resulted in offering me that a "service technician" will come out and inspect the wine cooler. Due to previous bad experiences with "appliance service technicians" I asked them to replace the wine cooler, because I did not want to start with a repaired, speak patched up, appliance. I promised to get back with me after talking to the manufacturer.

    Well, after 3 days they still did not communicate with me directly, but rather a "Summit representative" (anyone can pretend to claim that title) wanted to set up an appointment. I refused to go that route, and they told me that I have to then pursue an exchange with AJ Madison. As of today, Nov. 17, the non-working cooler awaits exchange; however, in the meantime my credit card was charged. AMEX will help me in this dispute. I have made several calls, wrote emails to customer service, and even tried to chat on the website to resolve the issue: NO contact, NO response! It seems to be a "take the money and run" company attitude. Terrible! Be alerted and warned!

    I recently ordered a range hood from AJ Madison, but several days later, late on a Friday, I received a package with a completely different product. They are closed on Saturday, so I called Customer Service on Sunday. The Customer Service rep, Rochel, was very pleasant and apologetic about the error. She asked that I send a picture of the incorrect item along with the box it came in and to call her back after sending it. When I spoke with her the second time she was again apologetic and resubmitted my original order. Within fifteen minutes she sent me a shipping label and had arranged for a pickup the following day. The correct item arrived several days later in what appears to be excellent shape. The customer service experience with AJ Madison was excellent and very easy. I'd give them five stars if it were not for the fact that they sent the incorrect item to begin with.

    Literally the worst customer experience of my life (I'm 40). We ordered a month in advance, and it finished two months late and took OVER 20 visits to our house where we had to take off work! We ordered over $10k of appliances on July 18th for delivery on August 24th. On August 24th, they didn't show up. They apologized and tried to reschedule a week later. After 8 (yes, 8) calls, they agreed to come August 27th. On August 27th they showed up with 3 of 10 appliances. They complained that they had to carry them up one flight even though WE PAID TO HAVE THEM CARRIED UP ONE FLIGHT!!!

    The delivery team was so angry they destroyed our refrigerator. When we complained, they would not replace the refrigerator, but had it fixed. That took 5-6 more visits and still has many dings and torn plastic parts. It looks so-so at best. Over the next months we planned 20 visits where often they didn't show up and more often they showed up with wrong or incomplete parts! It was extremely frustrating. We worked a lot with Stephanie ** and Giity **; both are very nice...but very unresponsive and apathetic to really getting the job done.

    Ordered kitchen appliances on October 1 and was expecting a wait in delivery which didn’t bother me as my other appliances work and I needed to paint the kitchen. Well November 3rd I get an email and a telephone call saying they would be delivered on the 5th. The delivery guys called me an hour before and were very careful and polite bringing items into my house. Well I unpackaged and installed today (7th) and I love them!!! I would buy again from AJ Madison.

My contractors were unable to continue the project because they didn't have the correct appliance. Spent half an hour on hold trying to get customer service on the phone.

    Stay away from this place. They are horrible. We're getting legal advice. We ordered six appliances. They started delivering them on the day (a Friday) we had scheduled and in the middle of the delivery... they left! They left the appliances in our living room. They wheeled the refrigerator in (plugged it in- didn't hook up the water), and put the stove in place. They brought up the washer, the dryer, and the dishwasher and put them in the kitchen/dining area. Then they were gone. They didn't speak to me, they didn't call, they just left! They didn't finish the job.

    Then a few hours later I received an email stating the deliver and installation was complete and they forged our signature saying it was all done! THEY FORGED OUR SIGNATURE!!! We called all afternoon, no one to help us. We called all day Saturday, no one to help us. We called on Sunday, they couldn't help us until Monday. They came on Tuesday (which was our moving in day). That's when we discovered that they delivered the wrong dishwasher! They had to come back.

    They told us they would take 15% off if we kept the wrong dishwasher. We said no. They came on Wednesday and installed the correct dishwasher. We've reached out, hoping they would offer an apology and some compensation for the stress and hassle this caused. They haven't replied. Stay away from them. Awful company. They took our money and we expected a service. They caused us so much stress because we were trying to get this done before we moved in. Horrible company. Stay away. Stay away. Pass it on.     On September 7, 2018, I order a stove from AJ Madison requesting delivery for mid October. On September 12, 2018, they e-mailed me that they needed me to confirm my order, which I did. I asked for verification that I would have my stove before October 31, 2018. They replied that the stove would be delivered by then but that if it couldn't, they would contact me and inform me. On September 28, 2018, they sent another e-mail requesting me to confirm my order, which I did after speaking to customer service again.

    On October 16, 2018, I called to set up a delivery time for my stove since I had not been contacted by email or telephone as of then. I was now told that my stove was still 4-6 weeks away from being delivered and that they could not even guarantee the 4-6 weeks. They blamed me for taking too long to respond and confirm. I learned that they did not even place my order to their distributor until October 3, 2018. I sent them the email where I replied 3 days after they asked me to confirm, which was September 15. I told them about my deadline of October 31 that was verified by their customer service employee. I requested to cancel the order. They refused. They blamed me.

    This new agent insinuated that I was a liar so I sent them the original email from the other customer service agent. The new response was too bad for me and that they were not cancelling the order. I called the company that manufactures my stove. they told me that after they receive an order, 4-6 weeks is possible but definitely they could not even guarantee that time period. So lies, lies, lies by them. They still refuse to cancel my order or refund my money. They will not take my calls. They will not have a supervisor call me. They will not return calls. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SHAM OF A COMPANY!!!

    The delivery from AJ Madison is a joke. The delivery personnel didn't read the instructions for each of the appliances they were tasked to install. Pieces left over and parts installed in the wrong location. The final appliance delivery left my newly wood floors damaged. I reach out to AJ Madison to have them repaired but got little to no response. When the delivery company contacted me I got no follow up. I eventually went to my credit card company help with the matter. AJ Madison at the last minute tried to make it look as though I was the issue and not responding to emails and phone calls. I have presented Phone logs and all communication to the credit card Company for additional review.

    I placed an order for a range in August, then received an email that said it was a special order despite being listed "in stock" and that I would have to wait 4 weeks for it to be made. After a few weeks, I called to check on the order status, and was told it would be arriving in their warehouse in early October and then shipping to me. The day before it was supposed to be shipped to me, I checked in and was told that I had not approved the special order, and that they had tried to contact me numerous times by email. This is despite the fact that I approved the special order in August and had checked in by phone three other times. They lied about sending emails, with all the emails they referenced predated my call in August. They are a terrible company, and you should avoid them at all costs.

    Brooklyn, NY - I never dreamed ordering an appliance could be such a huge hassle. There is a reason big box stores are so convenient. I chose AJ Madison because they had the best price on the refrigerator. I wanted only to find a better price elsewhere right away. AJM did price match than other retailer, but it took a week for me to get in touch with them since I am on the West Coast. They have very limited business hours, they are closed for EVERY imaginable holiday, and they do not respond to emails. Unfortunately, the way they did my price match zero-ed out my delivery fee.

    So when the third party delivery company left the packaging on my deck (which they were supposed to dispose of per the white glove delivery I selected), AJ Madison claimed they could not offer a refund as I hadn't "paid" for the delivery even though it was not completed as agreed. I waited 6 days for a response to my email, and finally called after several more holidays to wait on hold for 30 minutes only to be told "Frankly no, I don't have a solution for you." Don't waste your time on this company!

    If you think you want to save a few bucks, think again. The minor savings do not equal the aggravation, the lack of customer service. The repeated emails went unanswered. Ordered oven first of August, it shipped three weeks later and apparently it comes w/ attitude. New Jersey attitude. Drivers are offloading the appliance on the driveway and neighbor comes over to sign for it. They're all pissed at me bc THEY called the wrong contact number. The two Goombahs wanna give me a ration of crap bc they had to wait an additional 8 minutes. EIGHT. Took three weeks to ship and six days to get here. The broiler pan looked like it had made the trip with Lewis and Clark so after weeks of no return email, I got nasty. FINALLY a broiler pan shows up in as bad a condition as the first. I give up. The dishwasher and gas cooktop will be bought locally. Avoid the aggravation, get your appliances somewhere else.

    Delivery company deposited a 36" wide, 6' high LG refrigerator very nicely, to the second floor stairwell of a 30-unit apartment building. The handle of the refrigerator stuck out, which prevented them from immediately bringing it into the apartment. The delivery guys went to their truck 'to see if they had the tool to remove the handle', but decided to leave instead, without letting the super know. We had their cell phone number, which they ignored. NO ANSWER at AJ Madison, because they close early for Sabbath. NO ANSWER at the delivery company. This was also the weekend before the Jewish holiday, so no one would be there until Wednesday the following week.

    They left this massive refrigerator in the stairwell of the apartment building, on a Friday night, where it restricted passage for tenants of 30 apartments. Lucky for us, we had ordered a washer and dryer from PC Richards which was being delivered on Saturday morning. Their delivery service comes complete with tools, and is now my preferred appliance store. Their delivery 'concierge' did return my call when I called to leave a complaint. He said he was concerned and would try to find out what happened. He did not, however, ask me how or if we resolved the problem, so I take it as lip service only. Done.

    Each time they showed up, they came 2-3 hours earlier than the window they told me. I had to take time off work or work from home, or have a friend come over during their precious time. Each time there is a problem, I have to spend an hour on hold to talk to them about how they messed up. They have no concept of respect for others' time.

    Why did it take four times for them to show up? For the first time, the unit owner wrote they did not know if there was a need for a certificate of insurance. Rather than follow up, they just assumed that that meant it was not necessary. So the doorman did not let them in. They asked me to give them a template for certificate of insurance. I asked the building and the building told me they didn't have a template. So I asked them to copy a form used for another building, and they said that sounded reasonable and they would schedule it for Friday and take care of it.

    Friday came and they had forgotten to schedule it! I called them and they said it was impossible for them to create a certificate of insurance without a template from the building -- after they already told me they would do this! This is because they are cowards afraid to do anything wrong, so they do nothing at all. Either that, or they are too stupid to copy a form. Either way, they had told me not to worry about it and they would come on Friday, but Friday came and they had not scheduled it. And I was working from home just for them!

    So then they re-scheduled for Tuesday, with a window of 1:30-4:30. My friend was supposed to be there, but she could not come until 1:30. They showed up at 11, and furthermore told me right then that I must remove the dryer before the installation or they could not help me. I told them I don't know how to do that, and they said "Wowww" like I was very stupid. They would not do it for me even if I offered to pay them extra. Luckily, the building handyman was available to do it, but this was not arranged that day and so they had to come on Thursday.

    When they came on Thursday, of course they did not have the certificate of insurance. Luckily, the building had it from a previous conversation with them. These people suck at delivering. Never deliver with them. They cannot fill out a certificate of insurance without talking to the building, even if the building does not have particular requirements. Either they are lazy, cowardly or stupid. Similarly, they cannot remove a dryer if someone else installed it. It is their policy, because they are cowardly and would rather be mean than helpful. They don't tell you about their policies until the delivery person is already there, and when you have problems with it they lie that they will fix it and forget about you, or they insult you. They cannot change their practices even if they cause you lots of problems.

    By the way, saying you'd schedule me for Friday and then not doing it isn't "misinformation." It's called a "broken promise." Perhaps you should have insurance against me getting fired from my job because of how much I had to work from home, or losing my friends from how often I have to have them come over to wait for your delivery that will not come -- luckily that did not happen, but what if it had? Wish you hadn't made money from my landlord and instead lost all of it.

    Probably they will blame this issue on the person who reasonably thought maybe they could adapt the policies for me, and they will punish him, but that is wrong. Whoever made the policies so strict they cannot change, they are ultimately responsible for this. This is what happens when you make strict rules without consideration for the situation.

    I bought a Miele dishwasher from AJ Madison because I try to buy from local businesses when possible. Every aspect of the customer service has been abysmal. They failed to properly inform us of the plumbing requirements of installation. It took several weeks to get an installation appointment and then, when told they couldn't install it, took several more for a follow-up. The store manager refused responsibility for any of this, telling us that it was in the contract we signed. In fact, we never signed a contract and the order was made over the phone. After a short time, the dishwasher was backing up and the plumber who fixed it said that the drainage hose was installed incorrectly. Dishonest, disinterested service. Incompetent installation. I strongly recommend you avoid this store.

    I also wished I had looked up YELP before calling this company. I had done a google search on our Maytag Refrigerator as we were having an issue dispensing ice and water thru the door. When the google search came up it came up listing AJ Madison as "your appliance authority" with the 800# to call to order accessories. On 8/3, when I learned what part our repairman told us we needed they took the order at 800-570-3355 and we received it the next day but it in fact was not the part we needed. I did not realize that the part came from a secondary company called Distribution Services Express and on that invoice it shows that they were an authorized distributor for AJ Madison and the invoice showed it was from AJ Madison with their Brooklyn, NY address.

    So when I called to determine what I needed to do to return the part which I was told on 8/3 I could do if it was wrong the person who answered the same 800# that I called three days later and said there was no record of my order. I was on hold for 45 minutes before I got a body to check the order and then they said they did not order the part for me. When I e-mailed to them the invoice I had a representative named Sarah said, "We are not Distribution Services Express nor are we affiliated with any other sales sites or outlets. We ship with our own carriers. The email confirmation you sent us is also not how our email confirmation reads or looks." I asked her to please call me about the order, and she said again she could not help me. Their customer service is terrible and I will make sure that I let anyone or everyone that I know about this. They should not be in business!

    I've placed more than one order with AJ Madison and was surprised to learn that customer service is virtually nonexistent. I called with a very simple question that any employee could answer, but before even HEARING it, I was immediately put on hold or sent to voicemail by multiple salespeople. I tried calling back to make clear how quick and simple my inquiry was, but each salesperson IMMEDIATELY hit the hold button without listening to a word!! It was actually shocking. After TEN call backs, I was unable to reach anyone (operator, supervisor... Anyone) but these rude, untrained salespeople. They should be FIRED, just as I would be if I ever behaved that way toward customers. There is also, notably, no mechanism for complaints through the company website, so this incredible lack of support and oversight is a company-wide decision. BUYER BEWARE.

    I found myself in need of a washer/dryer and needed it quickly. I saw a reasonably priced one on AJ Madison's website, and it said it would "quick ship" within 1-2 days. I called the company to verify this before I placed the order, and after waiting on hold for about 25 minutes the person assured me that the item was in stock and would ship right away. I purchased it, and started tracking the delivery status. It initially showed arrival 2 days later, which is what I expected. The next day I logged in and it changed to delivery 3 days later. I called, sat on hold for another 30 minutes, then finally got someone who told me it turns out that some parts weren't in stock, but it would still be out shortly.

    I told him that was very deceptive on their part, as I only purchased it due to being to get it quickly and he just laughed and said "I'll be sure to make a note that we are deceptive". Well the delivery date shifted again, this time to a date 9 days later. I called to cancel, and after sitting on hold for 30 min was told that I could cancel, but would have to pay a 30% restocking fee. Paying over $500 for a product that I am returning, that couldn't be delivered on time is insane, and you be sure I will be fighting the charge. What an absolutely terrible experience from beginning to end with this company, do yourself a favor and buy from someone else.

    You may get a good deal but, you will lose money and your peace waiting for delivery and installation. Delivery was scheduled 3 times each with a minimum of a 4 hour window. I had Granite cut, carpentry work done and still no oven. The "truck broke down" once, the "last delivery took too long" the second time, just plain "no show" on the third scheduled time. My carpenter had removed the oven and left it outside for them to pick up. Finally on the fourth scheduled day the truck showed up but the driver refused to install the oven after looking at the location, saying that he had to call the store about the installation.

    This former Michigan Girl Scout lost it. I dropped the bomb, demanding he install it or at least leave it for me to have installed and take the old oven. He said he would take it. I told him he was taking a stove I now owned off my property but, that did not deter him. He left with the new stove I had paid for, dropped the installation kit on my floor and my old oven in the driveway.

    I then called AJ Madison and Abe reprimanded me for being "hostile". He told me the driver needed to cool down and was emotionally upset. He needed to send another. I suggested we might all have a "feel good" moment, a little therapy and I could even make Herb tea on my new stove for him once he DELIVERED AND INSTALLED it. SO, end of day and another no show. At what point do you send a bill for lost time to this company?! I can only do so much work at home and have an apartment renovation I cannot get to today once again. I am paid well and get 3 bills an hour. In conclusion, buy from the big box stores like Costco if you want professional service and delivery. This place is a joke and makes a joke of any customer dares venture to do business with them.

    I had been a long time supporter of AJ Madison until my most recent experience purchasing a high-end refrigerator. The salesperson was most helpful but as soon it came time for the delivery process he took no ownership. I tried to endure ridiculous wait times on the phone trying to get customer service to schedule delivery. Once delivery was finally scheduled: On the FIRST attempt the trucking company sent people who were not prepared to install the unit (clearly stated and paid for on the receipt) and took the unit back.

    On the SECOND attempt they showed up to take the old fridge away but did not have the new unit on the truck. On the THIRD attempt they did not have a simple hand-truck, nor the manpower to get the fridge into the house. I traveled 2-hours outside the city TWICE to meet these INANE attempts and finally gave up and canceled the order. The number of phone calls, wait time, and utter frustration with the process made this THE MOST INEPT purchase of a product I have ever experienced. STAY AWAY.

    AJ Madison works hard to sell you a warranty that covers "the item". They cover you after the manufacturer's warranty and will deny if they can find a way to put the issue on them. This is a made up way to get money from you. RUN FAST. The products are good but do not buy the extra WARRANTY.     My landlady ordered a fridge from them for our apartment on May 27th. They were given my address and contact for delivery. I have spent hours on hold - each day at least 1.5 to 2 hours on hold to be told they CANNOT deliver the fridge when it is convenient for you and cannot even tell you when your appliance will be delivered? I am not sure why they would then deliver if they can only deliver Mon to Fri, need a 4 hours window and can only come if the truck is in your neighborhood. I am being told a varying tell tale of nonsense as to how they cannot schedule a delivery. So after 4 attempts - when they told me they were delivering and never actually showed ups the final time being they came but did not bring the purchased appliance. So we're ready to install perhaps an invisible one.

    And 4 days later have not heard anything back, was told even though I have now missed 3 days off work waiting for fridge that never comes, but yet they cannot tell me when I will get it and will not make any amends to their in house mistakes and inability to arrange the shipping of the purchased item. Now it is June 8th and they have not responded to my calls or emails and the 2 customer service??? Reps who were so sorry and would call me back before the end of the 10 days ago still have to called back. Also the delivery did not include install - i.e. plugging in of fridge to check it works, that is an additional 450, and to removal of doors to deliver and remove the old fridge is another additional cost and requires a technical person. And the delivery is another cost and the removal of the fridge another cost. Yet they can't remember to actually deliver the fridge. But already banked the money.

    This company is joke with poor service and terrible irresponsible staff and apparently everyone is a manager but cannot do nothing. What appliance company doesn't not deliver on a Saturday? What delivery company cannot come when it is convenient for their customer? What delivery company cannot deliver before 10:30 and not after 6:30? And what delivery company forgets to load the fridge on the truck for delivery? And then will not take responsibility to redeliver for free or at a time when you are home. If this is the quality of their service then surely their refund and exchange policies will need to be serious looked at and their customer service which is apparently MIA as well as my fudged and a schedule for delivery. The worst nightmare company and totally suspicious with regards to your payments and additional fees for everything. I hope to never have to use them again.

    Purchased a gas range for $3,500 that weighed 380 lbs. Since it was so heavy and I wasn't sure if it would be possible to move it into position without damaging my floor or hurting myself, I ordered 4 casters for it for an additional $325. Nothing in their website provided any specific details about them and I assumed the range's existing legs would unscrew and the casters would screw into their place. Wrong! Installing the casters raised the height of the range up approximately 6 inches above my new countertops.

    Called and A.J. Madison stated they have a no-return policy on all accessories and I am out of luck. They also said that my invoice showed that the casters and range were sold as one unit and e-mailed me a copy of the invoice while I was on the phone. Didn't open it at the time but after I hung up the invoice she forwarded clearly identified it separately and as an accessory. Said A.J. Madison will contact me about my issue within 2 days and I never heard a word. Buyer beware!!! Very questionable sales practices and terrible customer service. I'd recommend shopping elsewhere if at all possible.

    I ordered a fridge freezer and trim kit from these guys in March. Product came reasonably quickly. When installed, fridge didn’t work. Multiple calls, multiple emails, multiple messages. All ignored. When I finally reached someone, they promised to get things rolling to get the fridge fixed in 48 hours. Days passed. More calls, more hour long waits on hold. Problem finally fixed weeks after it was discovered, and zero follow up from them. Now attempting to return a trim kit from them. Spent an hour and a half on hold only to be disconnected by them when I was next up. Don’t trust this company. They are really good in getting your money, and then will do or say anything to get you off the phone when there is a problem. They will outright lie to you. Believe nothing they say. Customer service so bad it gave me cancer.

    Bought a Bosch dryer thinking that buying local would be advantageous. I pay $50 for installation and $25 to take away old one. Big mistake. Gave me a 4 hour window. Said would give me half hour warning. No warning. Delivery man calls from street. I ask for 20 minutes to get to the building from work. Delivery man leaves before I get there. Rescheduled for next day. Given 9-1 pm window. I call at 1 pm. They tell me 3 pm. Delivery truck shows up at 3:15 pm. They say they will not install OR take away the old one.

    Played telephone between driver and AJ Madison for half an hour. Both contradicting the other. Completely helpless. They leave the new one. No installation, old one still here. They say they will come tomorrow with a person that knows how to install (yes this all actually happened). They give me another 4 hour window. Three full days completely disrupted because of this aggressively negligent company. We'll see if they: 1) show up, 2) install new one and it works, 3) take away old one. It's almost as if this company exists solely to make people miserable.

    I ordered 4 appliances from AJ Madison. 3 arrived in good shape, but the fridge was dented. The fridge was very poorly packaged and was inevitably going to be damaged during shipment. After several attempts at contacting customer support, new refrigerator doors were sent. When they arrived one door was crushed and the other had dents. These were only in light boxes with small bubble wrap around them. Again, they were doomed to be dented. Contacted customer service again. It took a while to get a response, but they said they would get back in touch with me after contacting the manufacturer. That was a month ago. An email inquiry during this month was never responded to. I placed the order for these appliances 2 months ago and I am still waiting for them to fix the dented fridge door.

    Expect no response via email, the only time I have had success getting the original door replacement done was when I contacted them on the phone. 1 out of 5 emails might be responded to. When calling in, expect at least a 20 min wait for service, often longer. When you finally get a hold of them, they are friendly, but they do not follow up on their commitments. One of the responses I was given in this process was that the person handling replacement requests was on vacation for a week. There was no one there to fill in for them! Very unorganized in my experience. AJ Madison has great prices, but if there is any issue with your order you may end up being very frustrated.

    I received a Maytag washer and inspected the packaging as the company’s email demanded. The packaging itself was highly unusual. The washer came with foam corners with the machine wrapped in plastic - no box. The packaging was undamaged so I accepted delivery. After installing it I noted the door didn’t seal because there was a dent in the corner causing the door to be misaligned.

    I immediately disputed the charge and checked Madison’s return policy. It basically says if an item is accepted but damaged it’s up to you to deal with the shipper. If the item does work it’s up to you to deal with the manufacturer. If you plugged it in we won’t take it back. If you don’t retain the original packaging we won’t take it back. If you return or refuse an item they charge you for shipping both ways (even the supposedly free shipping to you) plus a thirty percent restocking fee. I note that many other reviews mention getting damaged goods but no luck in getting a refund. I am now checking out the standard packaging of these washers. My guess is that they sent me a damaged item and simply repackaged it to fall back on what is basically a no return policy.

    After waiting THREE months on delivery of a kitchen unit, the delivery company did not deliver one of our cabinets, however we did not know that the cabinet was missing until our contractor arrived and started opening boxes and found that it was not there. AJ Madison is REFUSING to make this right because a delivery confirmation was signed. We were not aware that we had to open all the boxes and check for every single piece before the delivery company left. As far as I knew the cabinet was in one of the large boxes delivered.

    I have been given the runaround for a WEEK from this company, and finally got to speak with a supervisor today, who is basically calling me a liar and saying that the cabinet was delivered. IT WAS NOT!!! I am asking for a refund on the missing cabinet only, and they will not comply. This was a $4000.00 unit!!! I am now being forced to contact our company attorney, and will sue AJ Madison for EVERYTHING I can!! I am also contacting The BBB! Every time I call AJ Madison I am placed on hold for a minimum of 45 min. Today it was an hour!! This is the worst company I have EVER dealt with, very unprofessional and lame!!

    NEVER do business with AJ Madison. I ordered a Bosch dishwasher and arranged for installation of the new machine and removal of my old one through AJ Madison. They said it would be $175 for that, then they said $200. That should have been a warning! But since I have no help at home, I agreed. Today, 4 weeks later, the delivery guys from A1 Distribution show up with the Bosch, but say they won't do the installation. The invoice even said it was supposed to be installed, but A1 said they never do installation at all. (Did AJ Madison or A1 say so before? Nope.)

    Then they wouldn't take my old dishwasher because I hadn't disconnected and pulled it out already-- again, I didn't know I was supposed to. After a useless phone call with Julie at A1, it was clear there was nothing I could do but refuse the delivery. I am contacting my bank about the charge. If they try to charge me for restocking, I'll pursue this in small claims. AJ Madison is a total waste of time and money.

    I purchased a GE Double Oven from AJ Madison. Initially, the customer service sales representative was very courteous and accommodating. I was given a fair price, added the 5 year warranty at no charge along with inside delivery at no charge. I was told that the ovens would be installed when the unit was delivered. I found that to be a bit strange as I have never had anything delivered and installed by the delivery service on such an item that needs expertise and know-how. I called the salesman who previously placed the order to verify the installment scenario about a week prior to delivery. He never returned two phone calls and one email.

    I finally caught up with him the day before the unit was to be delivered, and he again stated that an installer will be there to install the ovens when the unit is delivered. Additionally, he confirmed that the installer would take the old oven out and dispose of it. He noted that it may cost me an additional $25 to have that done, which I would have no problem doing. The ovens were delivered around 6 PM. The one positive is that they called within the time window for delivery to tell me exactly when they would arrive.

    The driver was polite and excellent, and knew nothing about the installer. He was nice enough to check on the order, and stated to me that the order does show the ovens to be installed at no charge. I called AJ Madison and the offices were closed, but I was able to leave a message with my salesman. I called again the next day (which is today) and I have had no response. All I know is that I have this large crated double oven sitting in my kitchen and have no idea about who and when it will be installed. Terrible follow up on this order from the beginning. Terrible service.

    I purchased a Blomberg refrigerator from AJ Madison in New York, the refrigerator was delivered with a door ding and a faulty icemaker/water dispenser. I call and a service tech come over to repair the water dispenser, it was repaired, the service tech needed to order a new door. Three doors have been delivered to my home. Each door had damage. I have been working on having the door replaced for over 9 months to no avail. Trying to work with AJ Madison for nine months. I finally decided to call an attorney who deals in California Lemon Laws. Note to other buyers who even think about purchasing any product from AJ Madison or any company out of California. YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS IN CALIFORNIA UNDER THE LEMON LAW if purchased outside of California. AJ Madison and other companies know the law better than we do.     We purchased a VERY expensive Blomberg washer and dryer and thought we were saving money by getting a "warehouse deal". The machines they sent were totally used and broken beyond belief. So badly in fact that we were not even able to install them. After several calls to their customer service and sitting on hold for 30-60 min each time, they kept pushing us off trying to involve Blomberg in the return. After I finally threatened to decline the charge, they agreed to take back the machines (within 1 day of their 30 day return policy). It's now been almost 30 days and I still don't have my refund.     I had an unacceptable and horrible experience with AJ Madison. I initially ordered a refrigerator from them in early July. The salesperson I dealt with, Mendy ** charged my debit card an incorrect amount. Then he cancelled that transaction, but proceeded to try to charge my card 5 more times. Of course my bank put a block on my card, because they detected fraudulent activity. Instead of calling me, this salesperson, Mendy ** just continued to run my card, so my bank held my funds for 15 business days. I tried to contact AJ Madison on several occasions, but they never took any blame for their employee who should never have ran my card 5 times.

    It took over a month to receive my refrigerator, and yet the story doesn't end there. I finally received my refrigerator after over a month, and the company AM Home Delivery they use was supposed to change the hinges on the fridge. They did not do the job properly, and that very night, my refrigerator door kept popping open. Thank god for my son, who is handy. He came home from work the next morning and spent over an hour taking the door apart, and he fixed it properly. Not to mention they charged me to haul away my old fridge. This company is completely incompetent! I advise anyone who even thinks about ordering from them DON'T ORDER FROM AJ MADISON!!!

    We Ordered a Verona gas range and exhaust hood from A. J Madison of Boston, Mass. the last week in August 2015. The range finally arrived on Friday the 18th of September and I waited at the house for over an hour after I got the call telling me that the delivery guys would be there within 30 minutes. Had to take time off work to meet them. That evening when we had a chance to unbox the unit, it became apparent that there was shipping damage to the lower right panel. I emailed A.J. Madison immediately to be sure that we were within the allotted time to report damage. We received no reply from the email.

    On Monday morning the 21st of September, I called A.J. Madison and was connected to a customer service employee by the name of Rachell **. She was very sympathetic and indicated that in many cases, a new panel is sent to the customer for replacement. This sounded good to me. She said that she would file the necessary paperwork and get back to me. This she did with an email on the 21st, asking for photo documentation of the damage and the serial number of the unit. This information was sent to her on the 22nd. Days went by with no reply. I sent another email on the 24th asking if she got the photos. She replied that due to the holidays she was not able to respond but that she would get back to me by the end of the day. She did not. I emailed again on the 24th. Here is the Auto response I received:

    "Thank you for your email. I will be out of the office from 9/25 3 pm till Wednesday 10/1 9 am EST. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I will reply to your email when I return. Have a pleasant day." I did not have a pleasant day! And the date and day she quoted do not coincide on the calendar. Thursday was the first of October, not Wednesday. I was interested to know what holidays she had referenced and knowing that some Jewish holidays took place during the last part of September and the first part of October, I looked up a Jewish holiday calendar and compared the dates to the phone message that I got when I tried to call A.J. Madison to hopefully speak with someone directly.

    The dates were in fact the holidays she mentioned. OK, we are OK with that but we had gotten no definitive answer as we expected before their holiday started. We waited patiently until Wednesday, October 7th when they were scheduled to be back in the office. I called and after 17 minutes was able to speak with a representative. I related the basic facts and she put me on hold for five minutes while she looked up to see if there was an update. She told me that there was no update but that someone would get back to me before the end of the day via email. Well, guess what? That did not happen either. I called again on Friday, October 8th and was told that the side panel had been shipped to The Appliance Hospital in Portland, Oregon and they would contact us to schedule an appointment for its installation. I received an email from Rachell on October 12th telling us the same thing that I learned on the 8th.

    We received a phone call on the 9th of October from the Appliance Hospital letting us know that they were waiting for the part and would contact us when it was in. They emailed on the 12th indicating that the part was in and needed to set up the appointment for installation. I called them and the earliest opening that they had for service was on October 22nd and would call the day before with a three hour window of their arrival. I work for a living and this was not acceptable. I called Appliance Hospital and they were very accommodating. They indicated that they would call me 20 minutes before their expected ETA. The tech showed up after he called to let me know he was on the way. He was great and even helped me to align the oven doors that had gotten shifted during shipping. We finally got the range installed and we are really happy with it. We are not happy with the way A.J. Madison dealt with us and would not recommend them.

    I purchased a washer dryer set from AJ Madison. The salesman sold me on the extended warranty through New Leaf. First issue is that it was damaged when it was received. AJ Madison did a good job and had it replaced quickly. Then exactly one year later the dryer went out. No problem right, after all I purchased the extended warranty. Well that company can't find anyone to service the sorter so basically, AJ Madison is selling a product that does not work and then they washed their hands off the order and that my only option is to talk to New Leaf and AJ Madison will have nothing more to do with it even though they sold a service that does not exist to me. So my advice is NOT to go through AJ Madison unless they are a local company for you to deal with.

    Also, I would make sure that there is a local service provider to the equipment that they sell as they can have some "different" brand names that are not common in the US. I guess that this complaint is not necessarily about the product that I purchased but that they are selling a product that is non existent to many of their customers and they will not do anything about it. In the end, buy your large appliances locally. Do not get them online or you will suffer the same fate as I do with a large company that wants the large sales and add ons but then will not support a customer afterwards. Local companies rely on return customers and local word of mouth making them much more supportive.

I advised the salesman that I have a built in Monogram that needs to be removed, his response “no problem!” AJ Madison could not find a company to remove the old refrigerator, I took action and had it done. Paid out of pocket. After further and complaint they gave me a lousy $200 towards an expense of $750, claiming they did not tell me to hire the company! The new fridge came a day later than promised, dented and not properly installed. I spoke to customer service and will send them pics and we shall see how they resolve this saga??? Business is competitive and customer service should be priority!!!

    I purchased a wall mountable microwave oven last week from their store. I was charged for the oven plus $75 installation plus $25 for removal of existing oven plus tax, all on my credit card. When their installer arrived he immediately informed me that he will not be able to install the microwave because of a half inch discrepancy and that he would have to drill into my kitchen backsplash which he is unauthorized to do. He left immediately without even unpacking the new oven.

    When I called the store they told me that I will be charged a 25% restocking fee for cancelling my order. When I insisted to them that I did not cancel, that it was they who refused to do the work, they hung up on me. Other stores like PC Richard will first come out to your house to see if they can handle the installation job before taking any orders or charging your credit card. These crooks at AJ Madison are only interested in raking in profits with zero concern about customer service or relations. Never again!

    I purchased 3 GE kitchen appliances for my home from AJ Madison. During the purchase process a company representative phoned me to review the purchase and confirm the shipping address including final destination. One of the appliances, an oven range arrived dented and the owner's manual was missing. When I called AJ Madison to discuss the dent and missing owner's manual, I was informed that the warranty was null and void once it was shipped from the US to the Virgin Islands and that I should have uncrated it in Florida when it was delivered to the overseas shipping company to inspect it.

    Not sure why the company representative would seem to be so helpful about getting the shipping address correct yet not inform me that the warranty would not hold up until it got to the final destination. We clearly discussed that the appliances were to be sent to the shipping company in Florida then on to me in St Croix at my expense. This gives me pause to wonder if they deliberately sent damaged goods. I have never had this type of experience in purchasing goods and shipping them to St Croix before.

    Beware, they drop ship some items directly from the manufacturer. Because of this, they lose visibility of stock and you will be charged for something that never shipped. If knowing the delivery date is important to you, I would not use this site. Also, the customer service agents are not very helpful and are quick to blame the manufacturer. The word "assume" was used by them several times regarding shipping in my interaction with them. Too much undue stress for such big ticket items, look elsewhere.

    We ordered a $1500 replacement oven from AJ Madison when our oven died and the manufacturer would not replace it. Within 24 hours of purchase we received a call from the manufacturer saying that they changed their mind and would indeed place it. I called AJ Madison to cancel the order, and they said that they couldn't because it already shipped. I called the shipping company and they said that they haven't even picked up the oven from the warehouse of AJ Madison. I told the shipping company not to pick up the unit and called AJ Madison back. The representative a AJ Madison said they would look into what was happening and email me.

    I received an email a few hours later stating that as far as they are concerned the order has shipped, and we had 48 hours to inform them that we would either take the order, or incur all shipping costs plus a 30% restocking fee! What shipping costs? What restocking fee? It hadn't even left the warehouse! We emailed back and told them NOT to ship the oven to us. The next business day we checked the tracking number with the shipper and saw that they picked up the unit that day! So in essence what AJ Madison and their shipper did was refuse to allow us to cancel our order and we are now forced to pay all return/restock fees or accept the order and try to sell it on eBay. This is the definition of a scam. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH AJ MADISON.

After I placed the order online using their credit offer, I received a call from customer service that I could not use the installment plan on the particular item I ordered and had to provide my own payment method and pay in full. Then when I asked them to confirm the size of the shipping container, they lied about the size of the package.     I read all the reviews on AJ Madison & AM home delivery, & it made me want to cancel my order. The one negative on them is they charge a 30% restocking fee. That is really unfair. No other company does that. Just be aware of that. They said my fridge would be here in 3 to 10 days, and it came in 8, and AM kept me informed. The men that delivered it and installed it were great. Most reviews I read on AM home delivery were not very good. I can't stress enough how professional and helpful they were. The ONLY reason I would not recommend AJ Madison is that 30% restocking fee. Love my new LG refrigerator.

    We ordered a Samsung kitchen package about 3 weeks ago. Three beautiful, black stainless, top of the line appliances came through our door as expected. The fourth item, a microwave, was plain stainless, definitely not what we'd ordered. After several phone calls and emails and receiving condescending and brusque responses from customer service, we finally got to the bottom of the issue. The original black stainless microwave was out of stock and, according to customer service, the order was changed to reflect the microwave delivered and we would have HAD to give permission for that to take place. Um, NOPE, no notification was sent to us concerning changing our order and I would have never agreed to a mismatched appliance.

    After a full day of wrangling with this company, they finally reordered the correct microwave and waived the restocking fee. End of problem? Well, of COURSE not! The new invoice stated that the protection plan had been declined and another $99 delivery fee was tacked on. Now we're dealing with getting the original protection plan purchased for this appliance transferred or voided with repurchase of a new protection plan to cover the reordered microwave. Hopefully, we'll get the second $99 delivery charge refunded, as we had already paid to have the CORRECT appliances delivered and, as of yet, that hasn't occurred.

    I hope to be able to update this review with a good outcome. The appliances that arrived as ordered were gorgeous and undamaged and the delivery personnel were professional and polite. The inflexible response from customer service set an adversarial tone from the outset. It's taken a lot of time and effort to unearth the details as to how this situation arose to begin with. They have admitted no error on their part and offered no apology for the inconvenience. A simple "we screwed up, how can we make it right?" would go a very long way with me.

    First off you need to be aware this place is in New Jersey if you are across the country! Who could ever expect to receive an appliance in good working order being trucked all the way across the country! I placed an order not knowing how far they were and that it was going to take an excess of 2 weeks. Then I call AJ ** and start asking them questions as to when I would receive. They say "it's in transit."

    I also asked "if the item is scratched or damaged in any way can I return?" They say "Yes you can and we will charge you a 30% restocking fee!" Are you kidding me! They make money delivering defective items to never refund your money!!! I am now in the process of finding a small claims attorney to further take care of this matter because the end result I got tired of waiting and had to purchase from Sears which delivered a brand new unit the very next day.     I bought a Summit stove from AJ Madison. It was not the el cheapo model and I also paid for delivery, installation and removal of the old unit from a rental unit that is located in the house I live in. The stove showed up on time - actually before time - and the people who showed up also installed it. I was out of town and was not able to check out the installation personally.

    However, the installers: did not bother to remove the advertising tag from the front of the oven - 5 minutes with a razor blade is all it took me. Worse, the gas connection had a small leak and my tenants complained of a natural gas smell in the kitchen. I contacted AJ Madison by email and got no response over three days. Called a local plumber who just fixed the problem - the flex hose was not tightened where it connected to the gas supply. Half a turn loose. He reset the connection, checked the system for leaks - no more gas smell. I'm now stuck with a $150 bill that I will forward to AJ Madison but my guess is that they will never pay it. Conclusion: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. 'nuff said.

    I shop online - Amazon, Home Depot, Houzz - NO ONE has a return policy that charges a 30% restocking fee ($36) and insist that you send the item (cost $34) the same way you received it - a total of $68 dollars on a $129.00 item. So the total cost to me to return is $72.00 or over half what the item costs. In addition I do not give my email online but did so with them for the order and then received over 75 solicitations to my email. This is not a reputable company.     This is the third appliance we have purchased from AJ Madison, the first two purchased were great so we contacted AJ Madison on 6/26 and placed an order with David ** for a GE built in oven model PT7050DF4WW and 58 yr. service plan. In placing the order Mr. ** stated that there would not be any delivery charge and that installation would cost $30.00 dollars which we would have to pay the delivery company. He was unsure if there would be an additional $30.00 charge to remove the old oven.

    This is what we understood and placed the order. When we received the order confirmation, we noticed that the delivery street address was wrong and there were no additional delivery instructions. I called Mr. ** and left a message that the address was incorrect. I also called AM Trucking and was told I had to contact AJ Madison. Mr. ** returned our call and left the message we had to contact customer service, he could not help correct the problem.

    On 6/27 I called customer service and held from some number in line to next in line for approximately an hour, no one ever answered and was disconnected. The next day I again called and held for a considerable period never advancing in the queue. I then left a message as instructed. No one returned my call. A few days later, concerned, I again contacted AM Trucking, this time the person answering was helpful and contacted AJ Madison and someone from accounting did call and corrected the address.

    The delivery was prompt after notification, however AM Trucking delivery stated they were only to deliver and remove and install. To install they wanted $230.00 dollars and asked if we wanted the old oven removed but not telling us that this was not part of the delivery service. However, I had to do most of the disconnect of the electrical. Before leaving they demanded $30.00 for removal which we paid.

    The only thing I did right when I purchased an LG Double Oven (LWD3010ST) from AJ Madison (online) was to purchase the extended 5-year warranty (New Leaf Warranty company). This oven has been "repaired" so many times that I am about to run out of warranty and I still have over 2 years of time left on the warranty, but nearly no money. As soon as New Leaf hits the $2400 mark in repairs, then they have "fulfilled the terms of the warranty". This oven is a LEMON and AJ Madison will not do anything to replace it. New Leaf Warranty will not do anything except keep applying band-aids in the form of short term repairs. DO NOT BUY THIS OVEN and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AJ MADISON.

    I ordered a washer and dryer and told the sales person that I would let him know when I could take delivery since I am remodeling the house including the laundry room. Far before the rehab was done, I received an email stating that the set would be delivered that weekend. When I called and reminded them that the date was premature, they insisted that if I did not take delivery that weekend (I was taking my daughter to college), they would charge me 25 dollars per week until delivery. This was never stated during our transaction. I arranged to have the set delivered the next weekend. I was told to be at the house between 11 AM and 3 PM.

    I was at the house at 11 AM and found a text that they had been there at 10:45 and left. I tried to get the units delivered that day since I had already wasted a weekend day but they said the delivery service was too far from my house. Therefore, I must waste another weekend day next week waiting for this delivery. I asked whether I could have a narrower time frame considering that I had already wasted much of a weekend day but was refused. Whatever price you get from these guys is not worth it. I did not know that delivery was so inept and the company will not change that, claiming that the delivery service is a "separate company". I recommend you go to Home Depot, spend a few dollars more, and be entitled to your weekends. This is an example of a company that could care less about their customers.

    I ordered a gas wall oven from AJ Madison as they were one of the few that had one in the size I needed. My experience with the salesperson was good. Unfortunately, when the oven arrived it was the wrong model, an electric oven. I informed customer service of this and they placed the gas oven on order for me and had the electric oven picked up when the gas oven was delivered. I did have to pay for the gas oven on my credit card but when the electric oven arrived back at AJ Madison I received full credit for it. There was no charge for shipping the electric oven back and no restocking fees when it arrived. They made a mistake but they owned it and made it right.     Late last November, I purchased a high end dishwasher from AJ Madison. The purchase process went very smoothly, and the product was received in a very timely manner. I was thrilled. When I received the product, it came packaged with cardboard top and bottom with rigid foam supports at corners wrapped in heavy plastic. At time of receipt, I pulled back the plastic and did a cursory inspection of the unit and all looked fine. The product sat untouched for 2 to 3 weeks due to my travelling for the holidays. Upon returning, the unit was brought into the kitchen and completely unpacked in preparation for installation. Under the lighting in the kitchen which was much better than in the garage, it became apparent there was a, albeit minor in terms of depth, dent that was very visible on the front door.

    I was very concerned as everything I read about damage claims stated that it was my responsibility to inspect upon receipt and you only had 14 days to make any claims, etc. I nevertheless contacted AJ Madison and explained the circumstances, and as of this date, I have received a new door skin and a technician is supposed to be making a service call to install the new door skin. I could not be more relieved or satisfied. AJ Madison has proven to me that they stand behind their products and have definitely won me as a repeat customer.     I ordered a new fridge/freezer from this company last week. They said they would deliver today (Monday) or tomorrow (Tuesday). It's Christmas Friday and I'm struggling without functioning appliances. So they try to call me this morning and I miss the call. They leave me a voicemail to ask me to call them. They then send a ** email about how they've been trying to contact me and can't get hold of me. I called back about 5 minutes after they left me the voicemail and sent the email. I'm kept on hold repeatedly and it takes three calls to finally speak to someone.

    Guess what? They can't actually deliver now. They can't confirm when they can deliver. Maybe Wednesday, maybe Thursday (Xmas Eve - yeah, thanks!). I tell them to cancel the order unless they can deliver as agreed. They repeatedly try and get me to accept a 'maybe Weds or Thurs' delivery date. Erm - no! Finally they cancel the order. Idiots. Really, really bad customer service, agents who don't listen, couldn't care less that they've royally messed up our Xmas and I now have to source another unit from elsewhere and try and get it delivered by tomorrow. I feel like I should get compensation for the time they've wasted. Won't be shopping here again and will ensure that everyone I know knows just how shoddy they are.     I purchased a Viking electric cooktop and extended warranty plan through the AJ Madison website on October 17th, 2015 for the amount of $1,398.00. On October 20th I received my first email, stating that my item was not scheduled to be released by the manufacturer for 4 weeks. Ok, even though there was nothing on the site when I purchased it annotating this, it was not a big deal. I then get an email on October 22 stating that my item had shipped via AM Home Delivery, and that I would receive a call from the freight carrier to schedule a delivery time.

    Fast forward to November 4th. I receive a voicemail from the freight company stating they will be delivering the item on November 5th between the hours of 1100 to 1500. My husband calls the delivery company back and speaks to a representative. He provides them with his direct cell phone number because he was going to be the one at the house able to meet the driver. I also received an automated email with the date of November 5th and delivery window of 1100 to 1500. I coordinate with my 18 year old daughter to be at the house until 12:00 pm and my husband puts in for a half day off work so someone will be home to accept the delivery. My daughter got ready for her classes early and made sure she was in the living room from 11:00 am on to ensure she did not miss the doorbell.

    My husband arrived at the house at 11:45 am only to find a missed delivery notification on mailbox, stating the driver attempted to make the delivery at 11:38am. He then makes a furious attempt to contact AJ Madison to get in contact with the driver before he leaves the area. The customer service agent puts him on hold, and contacts the driver. The customer service agent then gets back on the line with my husband and tells him that the delivery driver is over 100 miles away from our home, and that he cannot turn back around to deliver the item. We then check our email and find an email from AM trucking and delivery time stamped for 9:47am stating the delivery driver was 40 minutes out from our location to deliver the item.

    We finally start putting together the pieces to the mystery and came to the realization that the delivery driver attempted to deliver the item at 10:38 am and not 11:38 am like he has written down. (The driver came out of an EASTERN Standard time zone and we live in a CENTRAL standard time zone). We contact AJ Madison, and they do not seem to believe that the driver did anything wrong. They said we would have to have the item re-delivered and at that time they were unsure of when that would happen. My husband asked for a refund, and they said they could not authorize that and he would have to speak to a manager. He was told a manager would contact him before the end of the day. There was no telephone call Thursday night. My husband called AJ Madison again on the morning of Friday the 6th, and was again told a manager would call him back before the end of the day.

    Again, no phone call, but we did receive an email from customer service saying they were still working on our issue and that we would be contacted within 24 to 48 hours. No telephone call over the weekend, no telephone call received on Monday Nov 9th, 10th, or 11th. Finally on November 12th, I contacted AJ Madison's customer service to request a refund and was told that the item was with the shipper and would be delivered tomorrow (November 13th) but she did not have a delivery window and the shipper would contact us. She offered to refund the price of the extended warranty ($169.00). I told them I did not want the item. I then put in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against AJ Madison. I spoke with my husband and he decided to contact American Express to see what they could do to assist in getting the charges reversed. American Express told us to refuse the delivery and they would take it from there.

    Not more than an hour later, my husband receives a telephone call from a MANAGER at AJ Madison. She attempts to apologize for all of the problems, and my husband stops her and tells her that we have contacted American Express and asked them to reverse the charges and that we do not want the item and if it shows up the next day we are to refuse delivery. The manager then says she was going to contact the shipper and have the item removed from the delivery route. We did not get a call back from either AJ Madison or the shipper attempting to set up a delivery time, nor did anyone attempt to deliver the item and we have yet to receive a response from AJ Madison to the Better Business Bureau complaint. We received a letter from American Express yesterday stating they reversed the charges, however AJ Madison has until January 15th to dispute the reversal, so it still seems as if this nightmare is not over.

    I have ordered from you before and have always been pleased with your service. I ordered two pedestals from you for a Whirlpool Compact Washer and a Compact Dryer that I purchased directly from Whirlpool. The Whirlpool Service Center where I purchased them did not offer pedestals, as they are NOT a Whirlpool product. All I was told was that they were pedestal compatible, but would have to order them from a dealer.

    So, having dealt with you before, I called you. I asked the salesperson at Madison for the pedestals that matched the Washer and Dryer. I was told: XHPW155DW. How else would I have known what to order? The washer and dryer are ready to be installed, but they are not the right pedestals. They are too big. The mistake was noticed immediately by our contractor. Only one of the pedestal boxes was opened. It was not installed nor used. The other box was never opened. The opened box is being closed with all of packaging materials, inserts and manuals, warranty cards (still blank) and all accessories.

    Ordinarily I would just reorder from you, but I do not respect your return policy. I would not mind paying a reasonable restocking fee. But a 30% restocking fee is excessive!! It certainly is not your actual cost for restocking it. I do not like being taken advantage of. That is very poor customer service. Therefore, I am returning the pedestals without reordering.     Bought the SUMMIT BIM45 Ice maker. Talked to them, read all the information on the description. Says it will produce up to 32 pounds of clear ice per day and store up to 25 pounds of that ice. Three days later the ice has melted and turned to a bin of water. Clearly something must be wrong right? I bought extended warranty, I have 1 yr mfg warranty so I am not worried. I called Summit. They told me that the BIM45 Ice maker will sure enough make 32 pounds of ice per day and it will store that ice for zero-time frame. The moment the ice hits the bucket it will begin to melt. "Why" I asked? "The machine does not have a 'thermostat'" the Summit Technician says. "It's made only for people who use the ice as fast as it makes it." I told him to ready through the brochure with me... He did, and agreed it is very misleading and that nowhere does it say the ice will melt or must be used right away.

    The owners manual even says, "that it will be fine for up to 3 weeks to leave town and just leave it alone. If you leave town for over 3 weeks you probably should shut it off!" LOL. It does have a pump that will pump the excess water drain away to the sink but not 25 gallons every 3 days of water. If the ice melts it would be just making ice water so why own it? Summit told me to return it to AJ if I was unhappy with it. I called AJ, and went through the brochure with them and they agreed, and told me they wanted to talk to SUMMIT before taking it back. Two weeks later I get no response from AJ. So I called them and they told me the time frame for returns is over. Well of course it is, because you guys told me you wanted to talk to Summit before me sending it back. I filed a claim with PAYPAL which got someone's attention there and eventually they decided to take it back.

    They agreed there is a problem with the advertising but they probably won't be changing it. I ordered this along with a beverage center, and when they were delivered by YRC freight carriers the boxes were crushed by a forklift or other freight pushing on them so when they unloaded them the Driver wanted them to be opened to ensure there was no damage. OK so we opened the boxes to find that both items were ok and not damaged. The freight carrier gathered up the two pallets, all boxes and told me it was his job to dispose of it and away he went. Back to AJ, they want me to ship the ice maker back in the same box, same pallet or they won't take it back. Ok this is ridiculous. So I explain that I have no way to send it back since the shipper took all the boxes and pallet for the ice maker... They don't care. "You have 7 days to get it back to us or we will consider this closed."

    PayPal did side with me and said I have 12 days to return it to them at my own expense for a full refund but that's not possible. I talked to a shipper who wants 190 to pack it back up, another who wants 250 to pack it back up then there would be the 150 shipping fee, which does not cover my lost time from work to make all this happen. So now the ice maker is in the scrap yard where it belongs. SUMMIT BIM45... BEWARE. DOES NOT STORE ICE, ONLY MAKES IT. AJ MADISON will sell you this product but save your packing and don't let the shipper haul it off because you will be sending it back. Spend a little more and buy a better quality product and make sure it does have a thermostat built in so it keeps the ice cold.

    11 Oct 15, I ordered a 4.3 cu. ft. GE washing machine. The order was processed and shipped on 15OCT15; the hold up being no one knew 'So.' ... Ave. was the abbreviation for 'South'. After 2 days of leg work, I located the washer where it sat for 5 days / 28 miles from me. It was delivered on Fri. 23 Oct 15. On 24 Oct 15, following AJ. Madison's 'Disclaimer Policy' Instructions for 'Defective Merchandise', "Though packaging appears intact, the product may have incurred damage due to improper handling. 'Plug in' appliance ASAP... It is important that you 'install' appliance as soon as you can to make sure it operates properly. If you receive item that is defective upon delivery that is not due to shipping damages, contact Customer Service Support within 24 hours of receipt." I found the washer did not function properly.

    The 6-day attempt to speak to customer service to get a Return Authorization then began. Phone calls, voice messages, emails and finally on 29 Oct 15 they responded. They invoked the 3d 'double standard/catch all' policy paragraph wherein states: "AJ. Madison does not accept returns for any item that has been 'installed', 'used', or 'plugged in'" as well as "reserving the right to refuse returns". Then told me to have a good day. They did offer to locate a local service repairman that I might call to make the repairs on my new washer. No offer to pay for repair was given. And no, they did not include warranty info/cards with the washer. I was offered 10% (of what was not specified) for cosmetic damages to washer cabinet. These are two dented corners that occurred prior to Madison shipping the washer. Almost $650. Wasted, not including interest as I took out a loan to buy the washer.

    I ordered a dishwasher for my daughter on 9/15/15 from AJ Madison. My credit card was charged on 9/17/15 and I got an e-mail stating that the dishwasher was shipped. No information was included on a delivery date. No dishwasher appeared, so I called at the end of September and after 30 minutes on hold, I was told the shipping company had passed off the delivery to a local (Utah) company. Again, the dishwasher did not appear. I called the local company and they said they had no record of having received the dishwasher. Another call to AJ Madison and more BS from their "customer service" representative. I gave up yesterday, and disputed the transaction with my credit card company. My daughter will still get her dishwasher, but not from this company!

    My elderly parents purchased a new refrigerator from AJ Madison in December of 2014. They called after a few days to tell them the model they wanted was not available, and suggested an LG brand instead of the one they wanted. They agreed and AJ Madison delivered the refrigerator, which was installed a few weeks later in their new place. From the moment the appliance was installed, it displayed an error code on the digital panel, and the ice maker would not dispense ice, nor would the water dispenser dispense water. They called AJ Madison, and LG, and they arranged for a service call from a manufacturer certified technician. The manufacturer certified technician has worked on the refrigerator 10 times (over a 9 month period), and the ice maker and water dispenser still do not dispense, and the error code still shows the same "E IS". It is now 10 months later, and the refrigerator is not working properly.

    I ordered appliances for a new kitchen from AJ Madison and I very much regret that decision. Their customer service is probably the worst on the planet. I had placed this order at the beginning of our renovation (back in June) but when it came to the delivery date (in Aug) I was told that the AC we had ordered was not available and they had to switch out the model. Plus, the refrigerator was shipped with a dented door. We were told that the issue would be resolved within 10 days and we are still trying to resolve the situation and it's already end of September... albeit after spending countless hours on the phone with them, emails, follow ups, etc. etc. which continues.

    They are absolutely incompetent. Don't be fooled by the prices they offer. These guys are the absolute worst. The sales rep stopped responding to my emails and phone calls after the order was placed and the customer service reps say something and don't follow through with their promises.

    Ordered cook-top 9/03/15. Credit card was charged 9/03/15. Unit left warehouse 9/08/15. No update on shippers tracking website (they own the shipping company) until 9/16/15. Truck arrived 9/17/15 with a box that looked like it had been run over. After inspection, the right rear corner was crushed beyond ANY hope of repair. Truck guy, who barely spoke enough English to make kindergarten sentences, tried to see if I was interested in a discount. I wouldn't want this unit in my garage if it was free. AJ Madison said it would be 7-10 business days before they could refund my purchase. In their time warp, that's 2 weeks. Was trying to do a quick/inexpensive kitchen remodel and now I have no cook-top for a month and they still have my money. I WOULDN'T BUY A TOASTER FROM THIS COMPANY BECAUSE IT WILL BE TOAST IF/WHEN IT FINALLY ARRIVES.

    Updated on 12/19/2015: After 3 months I wanted to update my experience with AJ Madison. First, after reading these reviews you still decide to order from this company (WHY?), use a PayPal account tied to an AmEx card. It took us till November but we got our refund. Second, ignore time frame given for delivery. Third, if/when your purchase arrives, inspect the shipping container before it's brought inside and take photos of any area of concern. Fourth, once inside, open and inspect all items for damage and take more photos. Try to leave container intact since there is a high probability it might be going back. Fifth,and most important, if there is ANY damage to your items YOU MUST REFUSE DELIVERY. Once that "shipping company" leaves and you have accepted delivery condition, well, good luck. We did all of the above and it still took over a month for resolution. This experience has given me a much higher appreciation for Lowe's and Home Depot.

    I am submitting a positive review of this company although I initially did not think things were going to work out. We ordered a Samsung Built In side by side refrigerator freezer. We primarily went with AJ Madison due to price and the sales experience on the phone was a good one. I hate to make a $5000 plus purchase with a company so far away but we were assured it would all work out. After about 2 weeks the unit arrived and was placed in the kitchen. Per our agreement I was to start the unit and final install it. Well bad news is the unit would not cool from the start. Being a technical person I found out how to read the trouble codes which revealed a defective condenser fan.

    Initially they wanted me to have repair tech come out and fix the new unit. With it not working from the start I did not agree to this. In the end we negotiated a credit to my charge card on said unit which I agreed to accept after the unit was properly repaired. The repair tech came out and did a good job. Unit has cooled for 3 straight days without incident. I contacted my Customer Service contact (Megan) at AJ Madison and she agreed to issue the credit. Overall a very good experience. Megan always replied to my emails same day and the end result was a credit that left me feeling like I was fairly treated.

    This is the absolute worst company to do business with. I had to call the Attorney General to report their lying and thieving ways. I warn you, they will overcharge you and charge you again to correct their mistakes. They will promise you things have been shipped and then tell you two weeks later it was on back order and then charge you a fee again to order something different.     Without getting in too boring detail, these knuckleheads namely ** were quick to take my money and then proceed to blow me off after at least 50 phone calls. The worst customer service on the planet. Don't let their slick showroom fool you. They try to wear you down until you give up calling. The installers are useless and I highly recommend NOT ordering anything from them. Disorganized, uncaring, horrible operation. I feel so incredibly ripped off and was. They still owe me money and parts which I will never get until I hire a lawyer. I have never had a worse experience in my life.     After posting a negative review to Yelp, AJ Madison (must have) contacted A&M Home Delivery and asked them to resolve this issue just prior to the court date. After several calls we were able to come to a fair resolution that covered the damages to my flooring.

    Though this was eventually resolved I would be very wary of dealing with a company that can so cavalierly dismiss a customers complaint when it is SO OBVIOUS that they had a hand in creating it. They approached this whole sort of thing as if it was a shakedown which could not be further from the truth.

    If a company has a problem with their customers taking advantage of them perhaps it's time to re-think how they find their customers or better insulate both the customer and said company from the situations that leave them both angry at each other. No one wins in those situations.

    In October of 2014 I purchased a fridge from this company after a house fire destroyed all my contents. Major mistake. Aside from taking over two months to get the unit delivered to my home they subcontracted one of the worst freighting companies on the planet to handle the delivery, A&M Home Delivery. A&M Home Delivery, who has terrible reviews on Yelp, moved in our fridge on New Year's Eve and they literally dragged it across our brand new wood flooring leaving a pair of gouges in it all the way from the entry into the kitchen that will cost me thousands to repair.

    At first the workers denied it and said the damage was pre-existing but eventually they invented some excuse that because "insurance won't pay for the damages and we signed the B.O.L., therefore they are not liable for the damages." Ok, never mind that fact that we had just moved in a few weeks previously and the movers "literally" floated all the furniture over Ramboard with booties to protect our flooring, and these guys ADMIT to dragging the fridge across the flooring. The law says nothing about an offended not being able to pursue a claim over property damage because you signed some random form accepting a product. When we did demand to see the alleged completed BOL we never got it. Certainly no language existed on the copy we had.

    After 2 months of back and forth trying to get them to take responsibility for their workers they flat out refused. Because I live out of state and cannot sue them I subsequently filed a lawsuit against A&M Home Delivery in Pico Rivera Ca, and fully expect to win the suit in court. Of course I'll lose half my award to collections trying to get the money to fix my new floor. As far as I am concerned this company is run by lowlifes and people with low moral fiber. I fully intend to report them to the BBB for the crime they committed against me and strongly suggest to others to avoid doing business with them.

    Hi! I am writing to voice my extreme displeasure with your company thus far and I have not even received my appliances yet. These appliances were ordered on 02/14/2015. Then several days later, I received a very unclear e-mail stating that an item was back ordered. I did not realize this would delay the entire order - delaying our construction process completely. I had to call myself to figure this out. I then did not receive a confirmation e-mail of shipping and had to call myself once I checked online to see that they had shipped LAST WEEK - after a 2/14 order - with no notification. I was sent a confirmation e-mail after calling myself to get it and was told they typically arrive in 7-10 days.

    Today is the 10th day and yet I have NO appliances, but a bill in the mail two days ago for goods I do not have. I am sitting eating dinner with my family at 7:00 on a Friday night (tonight) and receive a phone call from your contracted company, AM Trucking, that my appliances will be here Monday at 8am-12pm - when I am at work and have already planned things to do because I had not yet heard from your company or your contract company. I now must find emergency coverage for my work as a cardiac nurse to make this delivery happen.

    This is purely unacceptable. I was drawn to your company by your ease of online ordering, carrying of specialty appliances, prices, and free shipping; however, this order has cost me more in delays and time missed from work. I wish I would have ordered from my local company and paid the $300.00 shipping and taken a gamble on their special order process because in fact all I have done is gamble with your business. I now have a bill amounting to $3400 and some change and NO goods. I sure do hope these appliances arrive in pristine condition on Monday. I have serious doubts about your company and probably will not order again and would encourage others not to do so, if this is not rectified with appliances in perfect condition.

    AS AN UPDATE: Appliances did arrive without dents, problems; however, have not yet been installed, so I cannot comment to if they actually work or not, but I sure hope so. WARNING: The communication abilities of this company alone should make you pause before ordering. This just further confirms the utter lack of ability to communicate from AJ Madison and confirming my choice to no longer order products from the company. Lord forbid I have a problem once these having these appliances after installation, for I fear I will never hear from this company again. However, if a problem does arise without communication on their part, I will happily have my lawyer to contact them!

    I ordered a Maytag gas dryer from AJ Madison. When the dryer was delivered I did not notice that the front panel was dented from underneath, and the dent was not noticeable until the next day. I filed a claim with Specialized Transportation, the freight handler, and though they paid for the vinyl floor damage caused by moving the appliance, they denied payment to replace the dented front panel. The reason for the denial was that I had signed off on the shipment without exceptions.

    The dent was not noticeable when first delivered. AJ Madison's requirement to inspect the shipment upon delivery and note any damage, or otherwise if the damage is not specified on the delivery invoice, AJ Madison will not be held responsible for the damage. This puts a tremendous burden on the consumer to turn the shipment over on all its sides for close inspection and to install the shipment to inspect its operation - all while the delivery personnel stand in wait. AJ Madison should be run out of business.

    In this day of web technologies, I expect businesses to provide ample information to customers when items are back-ordered. This company showed that they had an LG microwave which I have been shopping for, at a lower price than elsewhere. Unfortunately, they didn't actually have the product in stock and do not have a timely supply chain to obtain it. The site does not let you know an item is back-ordered when you order, nor afterwards while you are waiting for the order to be filled. The only way I found out was when I noticed I never got a shipping notice, so I went back to the site to find out it was still "processing." I clicked a button which then caused a customer representative to send me an email with the status, which was that the item was on a "slight back order" and was "scheduled to be shipped within the next two to three weeks."

    As others have mentioned, their customer service was just rude when I called to cancel and complain. Don't order from these guys. I got the same unit from Best Buy for a couple bucks more and it shipped quickly AND they informed me upfront of the expected delivery time.

    I called to change my order BEFORE it was delivered - they charged me a 30% restocking fee of $750 even though I was going replace with the same exact product. The product was still on the truck at the warehouse!! And, instead of warning you of this charge, they hide it. They also won't tell you what they are charging you over the phone, only in email, and even then, they just say $30%, they don't tell you 30% of what, and refuse to give you an exact amount. They are complete rip-off artists.

    I am very displeased with this company. The first dishwasher they delivered had a huge dent in it. I called immediately the next morning to tell them. They did replace it, but the delivery person was surly like it was my fault the first one was dented and he had to come again! When we went to install the appliance, we found out that the door was only 28" high while most base cabinet doors are 30" high. After writing Bosch to find out what was going on, they informed me that this model was an ADA compliant model!

    I went back to the original order and it was not advertised that this was an ADA compliant model and, therefore, a different size. I felt that this should have been advertised on the product page to avoid confusion. I contacted the company to express my displeasure and they have not responded. This is a $900 dishwasher so I am going to have to figure out a way to make it work anyway, but I will not use this company ever again!

    We ordered a complete package and 3 out of 4 appliances arrived in working order. The gas range was completely busted across the top and customer service told us we could have a refund or keep it! It was a battle just to get them to acknowledge the level of damage. They kept telling us it was a cosmetic issue and to keep the stove. Finally after calling back to argue and explain more, we are informed the range is on backorder so we will have to wait two weeks. Fine.

    Two weeks no problem. It has been 2 MONTHS!!! And we were just informed again it will be another 2 weeks. All of this is communicated with an air of "we really don't care" attitude. After living without a stove for the last two months, I tried to compromise and offer to substitute a lesser stove, but customer service insists on insulting us further by offering a totally sub par stove. We ordered a 5.8 cu oven. They offer 4.2 cu in place. Unbelievable.

    This review won't even begin to expose the nightmare it's been dealing with this joke of a company. In the end we decided the $200 discount on the stove was not worth the aggravation of dealing with these imbeciles. We had an exceptional experience at Lowe’s instead.

After promising me up and down that they would not deliver till the first week of January, they shipped the order early (on December 30) which then caused major issues for me as I had to return one of the items (I would not have had to return anything had they delivered when they said they would). Then they insisted that I needed to pay for the return of the item as it was not their fault! They refused to acknowledge that they were at fault and tried to make it about "delivery" vs "shipment".
