    I like the fact that you let me know each month when nothing was out of line. However, one time recently there was a breach of privacy encountered.     I am not always by my computer, so when I receive a text message that I have an alert on my account, I can instantly call LifeLock and they will explain the reason for the alert to me.     I recently received notice from Medical Informatics Engineering that my personal information had been hacked among millions of others. My investment accounts had already been protected under my basic LifeLock plan. However, my bank accounts were not protected... I immediately signed up for the Ultimate Plan to protect those accounts. When I later viewed my account, I found that only two of my bank accounts were listed under Protected. The others were still listed under Bank Accounts, including two of them that were also listed under Protected.

    I spent a solid week on the phone trying to get the other 3 moved to Protected with all kinds of promises that I would be taken care of. I was finally told that I would have to spend a lot of time with my banks to accomplish what I wanted. In this age of computers, I thought that the 5 bank accounts would automatically be moved from Bank Accounts to Protected by LifeLock. One of my problems is that I have been paying for Bank Protection that I have not been receiving. The other problem is strictly administrative!

    Though I appreciate the added peace of mind with having LifeLock's most costly membership, it's annoying to regularly get duplicate alerts for the same transaction. For example, this morning I received an alert that $560.00 was withdrawn from my BofA checking account two days ago. I logged in to my account and responded that this was me. Ten minutes later, a duplicate alert arrive to my phone and email, thus requiring me to repeat the same effort that was clearly superfluous. This happens often. Also, recently, a $450 alert was sent for Four Peaks Brewery when in fact it was Four Peak Towing. Really? How could you get that wrong? Finally, two suggestions: 1) Enable iPhone touch ID for access to the app and my account, and 2) speed up the transaction alerts from 2-3 days to one day. If something is indeed fraudulent, three days is too late to find out!

    I have subscribed to LifeLock for a few years - a good insurance policy I thought. I got a text message from them in August which revealed that someone had my personal information and charged $1500 and opened an account at a phone store. In order to prevent the bastards from doing more damage, I enlisted the help of LifeLock and put several preventive measures in place that would prevent this from happening again or ruining my credit.     I'm confident that my identity is properly policed, i.e.: when I bought a new car last week, I got a notice of the transaction for me to approve or not. One problem keeps coming up, though. I get notices that LifeLock is unable to communicate with my financial institution, and need to simultaneously log onto my bank long with LifeLock so they have the ability to monitor my transactions. Fair enough. I went through the process - three times. Kept losing contact with my bank. Finally spoke to a LifeLock rep, and apparently what happens, is my bank, as a security measure closes that connection, hence the repeated emails. She acknowledged that it was a problem with no apparent answer. Now when I get these messages, I just delete them.

    I am sorry to hear that you experienced credit card fraud. Unfortunately, there is little that can be done to completely prevent fraudulent activity on your credit or debit cards.
    Please keep in mind that LifeLock does not monitor charges on your existing accounts. Your bank accounts and credit cards are protected by the financial institution that issued the account/card. Due to privacy laws in the banking industry only the bank or credit card company that issued the account can monitor it for possible unauthorized charges.
    If your bank account or credit/debit cards are ever used fraudulently, you will need to contact your financial institutions immediately. They should cancel the account number and issue you a new card. Then they will do their own fraud investigation and, in most cases, refund you any fraudulent charge that was made.

    The LifeLock Service Terms and Conditions also require that you notify LifeLock within ninety (90) days of the date you know, or reasonably should have known, that someone has improperly used your credit or debit card.

    I hope I helped explain the difference between credit card fraud and Identity Theft.

    I want to be fair and honest. LifeLock came out of the gate running and really helped me get a handle on the Identity Theft in front of me. Every phone call was directed to a live person... and a live person who could actually do something. They helped me lock down my credit reports, sat on the phone while I mediated with creditor, credit bureaus, etc. I was so happy to actually be getting valuable service for my dollars.

    It was not until the end that turned my perception. See I know who stole my identity and made that clear. All I needed was confirmation of an IP address linking the suspect's computer to the credit card applications. Well when the Investigation unit got involved all they wanted to do was close the case. Which is exactly what they did... no concern for catching a thief. They just wanted another feather in their cap... another case solved.     LifeLock sells itself as a must have, promising excellent customer service in the event of identity theft. That may be the case, I don't know as I have not been the victim of identity theft, but I doubt it. They have been absolutely awful in providing customer service to me, a person whose identity hasn't been stolen. They refuse to accept my cancellation notice by email. They send unsigned emails. They insist that I telephone them. They refuse to contact me by phone or mail. I don't recommend anyone use them.

    I decided to terminate service on Sept 2. Despite receiving an email confirmation, you renewed my service on Sept 12 and continued the 9.99 monthly charge to my credit card. I had to waste time on the phone getting this straightened out and I won't know for sure if you have really cancelled my account and credited me for the 9.99 until I get my next credit card statement. The reason I terminated is that you did not notify me of a credit inquiry in July or August by Wells Fargo, with whom I was refinancing my mortgage. Two other services like you did give me this notification. (I have two other services free because I was the victim of fraud last winter-spring.) This oversight weakened my confidence in LifeLock, I am sorry to say.

    A week and a half ago I received an alert from LifeLock concerning an inquiry about me. I did not recognize the name that appeared on the report and replied that it was not due to any activity on my part. LifeLock immediately began an investigation while keeping me informed as to the status. With no reconciliation through emails, one of their representatives called me; she was able to further identify the name of the company and I was able to say that I had opened an account with the company.

    The problem in this situation was that the name (initials only) appearing on the activity is not the name of the company and actually did not relate to the company name. If LifeLock would include the actual company name along with the name/initials on the transaction, this situation would have been quickly and easily solved; please change your practice to do this in the future. The personnel I communicated with were extremely helpful, kind to humor an old lady with a shady memory, and are to be commended.

    I called LifeLock to cancel my account renewal scheduled for 10/9/15. I placed my original call somewhere around the month of June. I never received any confirmation of my cancellation whatsoever, neither by regular mail or email. Today, 9/24/15, I received a letter in the mail stating my account was scheduled to auto-renew to the credit card on file on 10/9/15. I called LifeLock again today inquiring about this letter. The person (Jeffrey) that spoke to me verbally confirmed that my account was cancelled and would not renew. However, he could give me a good reason as to why I received the renewal notice in the mail.

    He refused to send me a written confirmation that my account was cancelled and that my credit card would not be charged on 10/9/15. I asked to speak to his supervisor (Allen) and this person was just an unhelpful as Jeffrey was. I feel I am entitled to more than a verbal confirmation that my account will not be re-billed! This company has my credit card information on file and there is no way for me to remove it via their website. Shame on this company, considering what they are in business to do - Not allowing you to remove your own credit card information from their system.
