My husband & I signed up for the service. My company offered us a better service so I cancelled the LifeLock service on 1/7 of this year. To date (July) I am STILL being charged every month for this service. When I call (of the six times, I have only gotten a real person twice) I am told the person I spoke to before didn't get the necessary information needed to properly cancel the account. I have gotten nothing but a run around for months & now need to dispute the charge on my credit card EVERY month!! I will NEVER use this company again. Please save yourself the aggravation, find another company to go with.

All was well when I joined LifeLock one year ago this month. However, they missed a few things that I caught myself: my bank put a hold on one of my credit cards because of a purchase we made "uncharacteristically" and that card was used to pay an important business account on recurring basis. I only found out because the account manager of this company called to tell me as a courtesy. I had to call my bank, and it was a mess! Got it all straightened out but nothing from LifeLock.
This was recent. When I received annual billing from LifeLock...all of a sudden, my husband was getting e-mails wanting $3329.89. He was under MY plan and my bill was $219.89...total of $549.78! I called and asked why? They said he was on premium plan. Now, he never even corresponded with LifeLock...he was on my plan and I paid $129.99 for my plan with my husband added. I paid for the yearly plan instead of monthly or I might have caught it. Who knows? But it's deceiving at the best! I cancelled! Am angry.

In the Summer of 2008 I was broke, and looking for a loan online. This LifeLock thing popped up on my screen and suggested that I fill it out before I could move forward with the process. I filled out the info and was asked for my banking info which was Woodforest National Bank at the time and the next day checked my account and was charged like $27-35. I tried to contact LifeLock and could NOT reach a live person and had like 3 conversations with some online, computer, that I realized was a computer as the responses were EXACTLY the same. I quickly went to the bank and LITERALLY had to close my account for this. Never once was I repaid nor did I receive a letter saying they took my money. It was outright ROBBERY! They took my money and left me NO RECOURSE! I am sooo glad I found this forum. Maybe someone will see my story and NOT do business with this crappy place that doesn't care about you.

I've had LifeLock for a few years with advertised assurances that my credit cards and bank accounts were protected. In 2014 my checking account was hacked for $14,800. I called LifeLock and the representative informed me that I didn't have this particular coverage. He said in order to get coverage that covered my credit from being hacked, I needed to sign up for the Premium Service. I was never told this in the years I was a member. I assumed that my monthly payment covered my credit watch... why else would I have signed up for the coverage? I believe they falsely advertise and are very untrustworthy. I highly recommend that any consumer looking for fraud protection find another company to monitor their credit. There are several legitimate companies to choose from these days. LifeLock failed me miserably!!

Signed up just last week for LifeLock. LifeLock requested multiple personal documents from me to verify my account. I faxed in all of these personal documents. Received emails the following week, they did not receive my faxed documents. I had a successful fax transmission over 4 times. Still they did not receive my documents. Yet I spoke to another woman in Membership Services that did have my documents, and apparently they needed even more. No one person at that company was honest with me or on the same page as the next! Their customer service skills are horrendous, dishonest, useless, COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!!! And now all of these IDIOTS at LIFELOCK have all of my pertinent information. If I experience ANY problems now with my personal credit or fraudulent activity, I am suing this company.

I bought LifeLock after having a number of transactions by someone, somehow who stole my credit card number. Shortly after becoming a member (they didn't even send me the junkie gift they promised on their TV ads). All of a sudden, again I had errors on my checking account where someone else was evidently using my credit card number. I called my bank and Chase, made a file and reimbursed me for the loss. I then called LifeLock to find out why they didn't catch the overseas charge(s) that were obviously not mine. When the CS agent heard my situation, he basically said, "the bank reimbursed you, why are you calling us?" I was so disgusted I hung up.
Then I decided to look at the whole file of things they had on my account. I saw they had recent sex offenders on one page and they both had the same first name as me, Joseph. I called back customer service and asked that this particular portion of the report be removed from my report because when I first saw it, I thought it was about me, although further review I saw it was not about me but it wasn't. I asked CS to removed the portion of the report on my file. They said they couldn't or wouldn't make the change. I told them to cancel my account immediately and refund me any over payments they took from my checking account… Still waiting for this. MY ENTIRE EXPERIENCES WITH LifeLock WERE HORRIBLE!

I signed up a year ago with a promo, didn't know it'd automatically renew and charge me for another whole year. Saw the charge on my bank statement so I immediately called LifeLock to process cancellation and refund. It seemed so easy, I should've known it wouldn't actually be done right. Was told 5 business days and I'd have my refund, prorated for the few days since renewal. 5 business days later (today) I call and am told my refund wasn't processed and that they process billing requests on the renewal date, therefore I have to wait until 2016 for my refund to process. WHAT?!
I've never heard of such a thing. I'm told she can process a refund request if I want my money back now. Um, hello? Isn't that what I called for in the first place? She asks if I let the previous rep I spoke to last week know that I wanted my refund right away. Of course I did, and I was told 5 business days, remember? Now my refund is supposedly being processed, and prorated not from the first time I called but from today (ridiculous) and when I asked for a confirmation number, the rep said she doesn't have a confirmation number to give me. If that's not fishy I don't know what is. This company is supposed to protect you but it seems like even they can't be trusted. Let's see if I'll even get a refund. Rep was Jessica, refuses to give me even a last initial. There's no transparency with this company. Don't trust them.

I subscribed to LifeLock for about a year. Then I learned that a lawsuit filed by Experian has prevented LifeLock (and other ID theft protection firms) from placing Fraud Alerts with the three credit reporting agencies on behalf of their subscribers. That's the most important preventive step in identity theft protection! Then I discovered an $8.95 guide that walks you through the steps of protecting your identity yourself. I've found the one-time price well worth it; it cuts through the confusion and hype about ID protection, and most importantly, it showed me how to do it myself.

I checked my RushCard bank statements and it indicated that LifeLock took $25.00 a month off of my card and my balance on my card suppose to be $54.23 and after that $1.00 transfer fee that I was charged after they made the transaction. I have been ripped off and I don't like this service and I would like to cancel my service. And the moment I tried to call the customer service department they will leave me on hold for two hours, and then the phone hangs up and then I check my mailbox and they mail me a letter to me saying that I need to update my credit card information before they will be forced to cancel my service and all I was doing is giving this service a try. And now I don't like it and I am a dissatisfied customer and I would like my money back on my card immediately. This is a rip off to me and something needs to be done about it.

With Lifelock, I received decent service. I got alerts as needed every time. When I moved, I couldn't afford the small fee Lifelock was. I called to cancel and the lady gave me a run around about why I should keep Lifelock as if to keep me and she did, she gave me a discount to keep the account. I recently had life changing surgery. Finances got too bad that I have been going days without a proper meal. I decided to cut corners where I needed to and Lifelock was one. I called once again to cancel. Again, got a lady, again trying to keep me. I told her, I really didn't need the service. She told me they only monitor inquiries but not all. Misleading ads and commercials then but ok. Prior to cancelling I googled a lot of reviews and seen bad ones stating that after cancelling, they got inquiries pulled (as known as identity theft) soon after they cancelled. It was the main reason I was afraid to cancel in the first place.
Today I bit my tongue and said screw it, I really need the little change in my pocket and cancelled. This was at 11:23pm. Not even 24 or 12 hours later did I receive a notification from another monitoring service stating that a hard inquiry was pulled. The notice came at 4am... Like I'd be applying for lines of credit at 4am... I can't help but feeling that a Lifelock rep is responsible for this as a way of scaring me into coming back to them to protect me when they claimed that they didn't. Please be cautious when applying for lines of Credit reviews. Lifelock has its pro's and con's but this inquiry made me angry. I just know it has to do with them... It's pretty obvious.

Two month ago, I was in Spain and my purse was stolen. When I called LifeLock to report the theft and possible identity theft, I was told that LifeLock couldn't contact my card companies. They could only tell me which cards I had and their telephone numbers. Ever since I started my account, LifeLock has been unable to log into my TD bank account. Then about 5 days ago I got a credit check alert. When I tried to go into their website, my browser kept timing out. I've tried every day since with the same results. I had no other problems with the internet, no matter which browser I used. Only with LifeLock. Today, I called to find out what was going on. The first Rep I spoke to told me to just call up instead of using the internet and that he would put a note on my account.
When I pointed out that his idea wasn't really a solution he said he couldn't help me further. I asked to speak to someone else and he put me on hold. Five minutes later I gave up and hung up. I called back. This rep told me that there was a known problem with their servers and they were working on it. Couldn't tell me how long the problem would last. Couldn't tell me why the entire member base wasn't notified of this problem. I asked to have my accounts cancelled. I was on hold for another 5 minutes. The women who helped me the third time kept pointing out how her colleagues had not been trained properly or how she could have saved me money. Told me they should have tried to contact my Credit card companies when my wallet was stolen. By the time she was done, I felt like I was getting a complete runaround from this company. I'm going back to Transunion. Much cheaper and better service.

I have been a member of LifeLock for years but since I rarely apply for credit I didn't think it unusual not to hear from them. BUT then I applied for two lines of significant credit within the last month with major companies and there was no notice from Lifelock at all! I became very concerned with the level of service I was receiving. Their excuse was they couldn't possibly monitor everything but you would think they could at least monitor major credit card companies and major creditors of Toyota. The lack of concern on their part was very disappointing, and this was supposedly a supervisor I spoke to. Based on my experience and lack of service I would not recommend Lifelock to anyone.

On May 26, 2105 I received emailed receipts from Best Buy Mobile in Papillion, Nebraska indicating that I had purchased four iPhone 6 cellphones. I live in Connecticut! I called the store and Verizon (the carrier) and learned that someone had used my personal information to obtain the cellphones fraudulently. I called LifeLock and was told they would investigate and I could expect to be contacted in "a week or ten days". When I checked my credit reports, I discovered that three credit cards had also been issued in my name and used. I had to call each bank and merchant myself as well as the three credit bureaus to put freezes on my credit reports and file fraud complaints.
LifeLock did NOTHING to assist me for the $29.99/month service fee. I subsequently cancelled the service after resolving everything myself with instructions provided by the identitytheft.gov website which was very helpful. Today... JUNE 15... I got a call from one of the LifeLock agents wanting to talk to me about my problem... 20 days after I called for help!!! She was oblivious to the fact that my account with LifeLock was now closed. In my opinion, LifeLock is a waste of money. The company uses scare tactics in order to get you to sign up. You can resolve an identity theft issue much faster yourself and at no cost.

I was considering signing up for LifeLock. I am a victim of identity theft. It's a constant battle I am going through so I thought maybe this company can save me the hassle of having to constantly monitor my own credit reports. But when I asked specific questions I was not getting the answer I was looking for. I asked if they stop the thief from getting my information on my credit report as suppose to them getting my credit file and then me having to file a dispute. He never answered me with a yes or no answer he just said they can file a dispute on my behalf and clear my report. That's not what I asked. I asked if they could prevent this from ever occurring. I'm finding addresses on my reports that I never even lived at. I want to stop that before it is added to my credit file. He pitched to me about their services, what they cover and so on. I didn't ask him that, I had specific questions he could not answer.
So I found your website ConsumerAffairs and after reading all the reviews posted I feel that LifeLock is not what they claim to be. Thank you everyone for your post. You saved me money and headaches by not recommending this company. The best solution is to put a freeze in all three credit bureau companies so that if anyone tries to open an account or inquire about your credit they can't get the information, you have to notify the credit bureau and tell them it's ok to unlock your file. Also sign up for credit monitoring with just one credit bureau and get the premium service. I have credit monitoring with Equifax and they notify me with alerts even if someone requested information from the other two credit bureaus. You still have to take care of any disputes on your own but what is good about credit monitoring is they notify you right away.

I signed up for and bought 1st year identity theft protection to help safeguard my finances, credit and more. I spent several hours entering all my accounts, credit cards etc. and was assured by their member services that everything was in order for they even showed me how to review my credit reports. A week afterwards I received a couple of emails saying that LifeLock was unable to connect to a few of my financial accounts. I called member services and spoke to 3 people in that dept., each time moving up the hierarchy ladder. They gave me what I call "tech speak" and that I had to go back to these institutions and clear something? So LifeLock would be able to connect to them.
I did not understand anything they said and was told by the 3rd person I spoke to that there was no one else I would be able to discuss this issue with. She, the supervisor, told me that the only option I had was to cancel my LifeLock membership. What was I to do, go with no protection? I guess I have to do it their way or no way. I do not consider this acceptable and would not recommend LifeLock to anyone.

I had a business that is no longer in business run a credit report on me that was not authorized. I consider this Fraud since the company no longer exists. I went to court with this business years after it was closed and the judge threw out or dismissed the case. As a matter of fact the judge was so angry that he wanted the lawyers bar number and more. I have all the documents from the hearing including the CD of the hearing.
LIFELOCK SAID IT IS OK FOR ANYONE TO OBTAIN MY CREDIT REPORT NO MATTER WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE. Sounds like fraud to me when the business is no longer in business and has not been in business since 2003. Me and my wife had LifeLock for 2 years and there were a few times that we didn't get notified for credit checks. After we had bought our home and my wife gave birth the $500 a year membership wasn't very economic for us so we ultimately decided to cancel our subscription. They were very pushy in keeping us on, but they are a business selling a service, so I can relate, but that's not why I gave them 1 star.
Our membership ended this past November, and within 6 weeks my wife's credit cards had been compromised, and then a few weeks after that mine were compromised as well having all our credit cards maxed and debit accounts cleaned. I had called LifeLock to question what was going on, they gave me a pre-written answer and immediately tried to get to sign back up telling me that if there wasn't a cancellation in the service this might of not of happened.
I kind of let it go until I spoke with a client of mine about what happened recently and explained in almost exact detail that his uncle in NY experienced the same thing. After that I was prompted to do some research online and found that this was a common "coincidence" with past LifeLock users. That's why I am giving them 1 star. I personally feel they have shady business practices with vengeful consequences for canceling their service to prompt one into signing back up with them. Some might say no, but realistically speaking, they do have all of your our pertinent information at their disposal. I find out it’s cheaper to just sign up yearly with the 3 major credit agencies, and get constant updates through them.

I gave him addresses that I used to live at, phone numbers that I used to have and I think he even asked about colleges. He could not verify me because all the information, he said was not correct. The solution was to send my social security number in with my driver’s license and they would try to verify me that way. If they don't have my correct information on file how were they supposed to protect me from identity thieves? Then over the last 4 months I've been harassed with phone calls and emails, which by the way, they do have correct, to find out why I'm not renewing my subscription. Really?

When it occurred to me that Lifelock didn't respond to these red flags, I called. I was on hold for at least 1/2 hour before I got a rep. When I asked why I didn't receive a notification that both our credits had been accessed and someone was trying to buy a car in our names, she couldn't give me an answer.
I then spoke to a supervisor who said they don't do that, they don't prevent, they step in after something goes wrong. HUH? Of course, I didn't agree with him and argued they were supposed to prevent identity theft BEFORE it happened. I asked to downgrade my protection since they're not protecting me anyway. This was a week ago and I still haven't seen a credit to my account, which means another 1/2 hour on hold waiting to talk to them again, but this time I'm canceling. And I'm still receiving masses of preapproved bank cards, which they used to stop for you. I've used Lifelock for years and it USED TO BE a good company. Not anymore.

They have plans for you and your money then -- read these other comments to learn what. This is all via their 5,808 word small print disclaimers (read it for once people!! ) which clearly nullify every single claim they advertise, then renders them "held harmless" for absolutely any and all fraud, malice, incompetence -- and worse, and holds you the consumer responsible for 100% everything. I had entered billing information, set up a profile, etc. Once I got to the screen to enter account information so my banking transactions could be monitored, the computer system would not accept the name, url, or any information regarding my bank. It is a small independent bank where all our business is done. I called to see what could be done so that I could enter my information. NO ONE could enter the information, nor did they even have a way to do so from their end. So obviously, unless you bank with one of the HUGE National banks, you don't matter! After reading all the information on this website, though, it is a blessing that I won't be giving them nearly $400.00 per year for nothing!
I have cancelled the membership. They are supposed to credit my Credit card that I used, minus the monitoring services for one night!!! Can you believe this??? No information entered for them to monitor, yet they are charging for a day's service! I think I am lucky to have found out the truth before I mistakenly thought my personal information was being monitored. They charge you for a false sense of security!

When I tried to log into my account, I could not. I have called Lifelock 3 times and no one can give me an answer why. This same thing happened to my wife who is an employee of UPMC. She is supposed to be covered free for 3 years. They can't answer why she was canceled. I appealed to a Lifelock Manager, who has not called me back. UPMC is also looking into this issue. I have tried calling Lifelock numerous times and have been informed I would have a wait time of 10 minutes. I finally left a message to have my call returned. I am sure what I will hear is that my plan didn't cover credit cards only credit bureau reports. I will be canceling my account asap regardless. The automated system said 19 minute wait time...it ended up being 28 minutes. I gave my information to the agent and was placed on hold. After another few minutes on hold, my call was mysteriously ended. Nobody called me back, so I called again. By the time I called back, the wait time was increased to 25 minutes which probably meant 35 minutes. There could be something very important to take care of, but I have another commitment and can't wait that long to find out! That kind of customer service is unacceptable!

Honestly, Lifelock is a decent company and you really do get what you pay for if you read into what your product is. Reading many others reviews on here I've noticed that many people believe that credit card fraud and identity theft are the same, but they're 2 different ideas. ID theft is looking after your name and Ssn to see if it's being used to open new wireless accounts, bank accounts, loans and inquiries (depending on your plan) and credit card fraud is just the fraudulent use of your card and most banks reimburse you back after your claim. If you actually read what you're buying or listen to the offers then you'd realize that Lifelock is doing its job and there are a lot of companies that don't comply with them so you won't always get a notification of something going on. I applied for a couple credit cards and only received an alert for one of them, but I'm not complaining. Identity theft is pretty preventable if you use your common sense anyways.

I signed up with Lifelock 5 years ago. I bought the lowest cost package as from what I could tell, it provided the proper coverage. A couple years ago, I changed from AT&T Wireless to Verizon. While I was in Verizon, as they were creating the account, I received an alert. I thought wow, this does work. 6 months ago, I was watching TV and this Lifelock commercial came on talking about how good they were and then it hit me, I had just taken out a $20,000 car loan and did not receive an alert.
So, at the end of the commercial, I called the number they used on the screen and explained why I was calling and got transferred to a mid-level person who explained to me that I had the lowest coverage and to receive coverage for that, would need the higher priced package that was about $50 more a year. I asked what was the difference between a new wireless account and a new car loan account. He was unable to provide a good answer. I told him to cancel my account, I was done. Immediately, he offered me 2 years of the more expensive package for the cost of the lower one. I accepted.
In a couple years before I renew this, I will have an extensive look at their pricing and whether they are being deceptive in advertising. They talk like the lowest cost package covers you. I guess I could have questioned why there is a higher cost package. In the end, I was satisfied with the way it was handled but will research other options including my bank for future coverage.

He called and waited for over 20 minutes before someone answered the phone. The representative was so rude asking for security code or pass code or something. She told him that in order for Lifelock to help him, he needs to call American Express to ask more information about the account. I just got on this website to counter the numerous negative Lifelock critics who do not appear to understand this service. I have no interest, financial or otherwise in Lifelock. I have been a Lifelock user for about 10 years. There is no doubt that the startup of Lifelock was filled with controversy and even perhaps fraud. After a partial refund I decided to stay and see what happened. Over the succeeding years the service has become more and more of use. For those who say they do not receive notifications, did you take the trouble to complete your profile and set alert levels? It takes at least 30 to 40 minutes to complete the profile. If you're unwilling to setup the profile then you are wasting your time and money.
Last time I leased a car I had an email from Lifelock asking me if this was my transaction before I ever left the dealership. I went online and bought my granddaughter an Apple computer opening a credit card account to take advantage of an interest free time payment. I decided a few months before my renewal date that I wasn't going to renew, it turns out there is no place on the website to terminate the auto renewal, you have to call. Before I called, I did some web searches for giggles about Lifelock's cancellation policy and read some disturbing experiences. It was then that I decided to get a new debit card from my bank, I updated all my auto bill pay accounts with the new card info and I cancelled the other credit card I had on file with Lifelock.
I started getting emails from Lifelock that they were going to auto renew about a month before the renew date. I called Lifelock to cancel, which it turns out I had to wait for about 15 mins. Before I got to talk to a representative. After I cancelled I requested a confirmation number or email and the representative said that I would receive one on the renew date. I knew right then and there that they were going to try and charge my card, it was a good thing I cancelled those cards. No legit company makes it a hassle to cancel a membership. The bank and credit card company took care of the charges but we thought it would be good to have additional protection. We went online and they asked us for ALL of our personal information. SS, Credit Card #'s, Bank Accounts all of them and pin numbers for each, investment accounts and even more personal information. Isn't this what Identity Thieves want? We spoke with them because we were concerned. They assured us that this was all protected and no one will ever get our information. WELL THEY will have our information and what if one of their employees gets ahold of the information and sells it on the open market.
Also, they allow you to sign up online. Couldn't all of the information on my computer be hacked??? This might be something that some people would be comfortable doing this but our bank said under no circumstances should we allow that information to get into the hands of any company. They then become you and can clean out all of your accounts and create new charge cards in your name! I hope that everyone reading this calls their bank to see if the bank has their own protection coverage. Mine did. We are in the process of trying to cancel the portion of the form that we filled out. Unfortunately we gave them our SS# and are panicked about doing that. Like so many people, my wife and I have been watching the numerous account breaches with Target, Home Depot and other credit cards and decided that a service such as Lifelock might be worth checking into immediately. I signed up and that process was relatively easy. The real challenge is entering all of your various accounts and information into the system so it can monitor your transaction activity. Within a day I received what seemed to be a multitude of "spam" email alerts for all kinds of things from Lifelock. Figuring that I either was in a Credit Card nightmare or that the service was overactive, I called Lifelock customer service (and was pretty ticked off because the wait time was about 15 minutes).
Once I got to a customer service rep, she was able to walk me through the various alerts and my blood pressure went down considerably. Like any application, if you don't make the settings right to fit your needs it will be useless or just very annoying. My two quick "take-a-ways" were to understand that you need to set your notifications for the right dollar level or they will trip all the time. The other thing I saw was that within all the notifications, there was some legitimate information that could be an issue. In my case, my hotmail account login was detected on a black market site. (not good) So I changed my password and defaulted it to reset every 72 days at minimum. When you have a lot of passwords, your natural tendency is not to go changing them all the time and that one was over a year old.
As for the waiting time, they need to hire more folks for their call center in Colorado. The person I had was fantastic and answered all my questions, but I was close to a meltdown waiting that long. Basically, there are no short calls with this type of stuff so they need to handle volume better and that is just a business issue.
Finally, is it worth the money. Hmmm. The short answer is it depends on how you operate your own personal finances and the complexity of your transactions and volume. It is true that the credit card companies and your bank will catch stuff first almost all the time if there is a breach. Having said that, they are a business too and it costs money blast, 100,000 new credit cards out when a breach occurs and they don't always do it unless you ask. So for me, just knowing one of my email passwords was possibly being shopped was a very good thing and once I got my settings right, I think it will work pretty well. They need to get a secure application for iPhone, but I definitely agree with their decision to wait until it passes the highest level of security standards before it gets put out there.

After spending a year with LifeLock I have found that the service is not what I hoped it would be. I was hoping for a way to actively lock my SSN, etc. to prevent fraudulent activity from occurring utilizing my personal information. The service cannot do this. It is merely an insurance plan giving you a million dollars of insurance, if something happens. It does nothing to "lock" your personal information. It will alert you if somebody opens an account under your name or SSN for example, but by that point, I would argue it is too late.
I cannot comment on the ease which someone can get claims paid. However, I can say that the few instances where I have called to inquire about billing issues, I have been left on hold for over 20 minutes just to deal with a simple question of billing. What the heck? While I never subscribed to its services, I thought that the app would be handy. Then, come to find out, they're not in compliance with security measures. LifeLock use other companies to sell their services and do not take the appropriate step to educate themselves on who they are doing business with. These third party businesses are collecting valuable information from hundreds of members of LifeLock, such as credit and debit card information, social security numbers and everything else linked to one's personal identifiable information. I choose to not disclose any direct companies they deal with but I've work for one of them and I am highly disturbed. One of the companies they use hire ex-cons, people who are gang affiliate and as well as member. This company is very, very, VERY unprofessional and their employees are far to be desired.
BUT The real reason I write this is because I've personally heard some remarks from employees plotting to not "get a sale and save the information on a document in their computer and not process the sale" and that mean once they collect information they are not signing them up for LifeLock but simply taking the information containing the social, card info and Using it for themselves basically stealing identities in which the members are calling in to protect. I feel this is absurd and everyone needs to know!!!!!

I had been a Lifelock member for several years. It seemed like I might not be getting much for my money, so I decided to end my membership when I got my renewal notice. I called before the renewal date to cancel. I spoke with an agent and was given a reference number and assured that my membership would not be renewed. A few days later, I got more emails saying that my credit card would be charged for the renewal. So I called again and was again assured that I was cancelled. When I got my credit card statement later, I noticed that I had been charged the $99 renewal on my usual renewal date, which was 3 days after my first phone call. I called again and after some time on the phone, was told that I had been refunded $97.37 to my credit card. The agent couldn't tell me why my full $99 was not refunded. I could not recommend them, based on my experience.

I'm born and raised from Sacramento, I'm very offended that they be allowed to continue business and scam anymore people. An apology from Rush Limbaugh himself would not mean a thing to me since the Darrell ** family stole everything from me. My whole family has been hurt by their dishonest, greediness-rich from their own criminal activities and offensively insulting ways of getting off lightly for what they do by accusing and ambushing innocent lives unfortunate as myself to come in their terroristic path.
I give the Company 0/5 on All Reviews. There is not enough room to give the full explanation. I've already told the authorities about what I've been through and I'm not going to bother them to do anything on my behalf any further. They've done enough. My circumstances have not changed. If you respond to this please do so in 3 different ways so that I can really learn about your correspondence and make a reply that is accurate and full. I would be glad to tell the detailed version. I was concerned when one of my credit cards was scammed on while living in Alaska so I purchased LifeLock subscription thinking it would give me the benefits of knowing when someone was using my credit cards outside of me, and to keep a closer eye on when credit card applications were being submitted. At least that is what I thought according to the Customer Service Representative I spoke to confirmed. Approximately 4 months after having the subscription, I received a credit card in the mail that I did not subscribe to neither did I shop at this particular store! I cancelled the card immediately and called LifeLock. I was shocked that they were NOT even CONCERNED with my issue, and told me that was not part of their responsibility.
I therefore CANCELLED my subscription out of concern that I would probably do a better job at protection my privacy by not giving them my information and my money! I'm starting to believe anything to do with Montel Williams is a sham! You do not need to pay for this service because anything over $50 is covered under the new government laws for consumer protection. However, always remain diligent by protecting your cards and your online actions. Respectfully Submitted.

I hope this one is critical in this site so please bear with me. It is quite ironic, since Lifelock is responsible for the people's satisfaction and information protection. They might be successful to what they do best; however, in my case they aren't so satisfying and were pretty much failures. To start off, I was surfing through the internet and thought of LifeLock's "great service," since my friend told me that it was great. Then I proceeded to get into the free membership that they had around and figured that it's a good time to take advantage of it. I did so, and carried on jotting down my information. Unfortunately, after couple of days, I had some things going through my life and decided that I wasn't ready for LifeLock due to certain situations I had, so I canceled the account membership, which was free, and "I am all set" as the lady said.
Now then for the climax, when she told me that I was done and nothing to worry about; after the 30-day span of time, LifeLock took funds on my account, which was very wrong since I canceled my account. Then I carried on, contacted LifeLock and told them why is this and why is that. After a couple of calls, and to be honest NOBODY, but one of them told me WHY it happened. I called my bank, told me to contact LifeLock because they can't do something about it. Now when I called LifeLock again, they once again told me to call the bank. And after 5 frustrating back and forth calls from my bank and Lifelock, one agent was successful for giving me information about what and why it happened (suprising since he was the only one who succeeded).
Again, bad news, the "server was in a maintenance," which I understood. After two calls, one after another, I asked to talk to the "supervisor" and she just talks and talks not even reviewing my "notes" as what they're supposed to do and what they have in my account information. After several minutes of stuttering and unproductive talk with a "supervisor" I gave up and all I have was "I apologize. "
Care for details? LifeLock just made me miss my DUE DATE of my Auto loan. Which was Ironic since they're supposed to be responsible the protection of identity, but now they're making mine a disaster. The agents wasn't really very thorough with what they're doing, perhaps unsuccessful agents?. All I got was an apology. Seriously, I just missed my due date of my auto loan and gave me an apology and didn't do anything about it (talk about very low customer service). Canceled 9/29 but insists that account was canceled 10/24 (didn't even read the notes that the other agents jotted down). Even my friend canceled his account and didn't get any transactions from LifeLock. It was their fault since the agent told me that the lady that I talked to about canceling my account placed me on the "Do not renew" instead of the "cancel".
I guess what I am trying to say is that, It was Lifelock's fault. Then they placed me in this hell hole and all this trouble and at the end they just said "I apologize." I think missing my DUE DATE costs more than their apology, don't you think? *I am not trying to be mean, but I noticed that the agents don't know what right "questions" to ask and I admit after long unfruitful talks with these people, I didn't know what else to explain.

Recently my Mother, who is not only elderly but disabled, was notified by her bank (not Lifelock) that suspicious activity had been noticed with her account. I logged onto her bank account and noticed seven withdrawals that she had not done herself. These were done in several different states for various services all on the same date - totaling just over $1300.00. We immediately contacted her bank’s fraud alert center and reported this. Thankfully they were able to stop these charges and return the money back to her account.
Knowing my mother was covered by LifeLock, I contacted them to inquire why they had not noticed this fraudulent activity on her account. To my shock, they informed me that LifeLock does not monitor current accounts, but only checks to see if new accounts are made in her name. While I appreciate the later, I was upset to discover they do not monitor current accounts. After all, when signing her up for LifeLock, they asked for all her accounts as well as account numbers. Why do they ask for current accounts if not to monitor them? We are cancelling LifeLock.

Service is inadequate if you have multiple credit cards. LifeLock only notifies and contacts bank accounts. Most people have only one bank account, while most people have multiple credit accounts which they do not contact. Instead they leave it to you by providing a list for you to do their work. After questioning LifeLock on this, I asked for a refund. I can handle the notifying process and placing restrictions with the credit agencies which is free. What you get from LifeLock is certainly not worth the coverage they offer.

We got Lifelock 3 months ago, thought we might need it. So we called and they told us all the good things that they do. And for $25 a month per person, we just couldn't believe it. In the last 3 months we have opened up a credit account and have been using it. They haven't texted or called us to let us know.
This week we bought a $10,000 ATV and there have been no texts to our phone or no emails. That could have been anyone doing that. We canceled our membership today. The guy at Lifelock, Jim, said that I was good 'til the 19th, which is right, and that there would be no more withdrawals from our account. It does not give you all the alerts. The $25 have everything but is a rip-off and you could find better service elsewhere. If there was an invalid alert, we do have the SSN pop up so we have access to all of your information. Scary, right? I tried Lifelock, being very skeptical since the company was sued and had to change its practice. The price is $10/month, and they say they monitor my identity through their "network". When I pried and did more research, their "network" is a list of businesses that agree to alert them if someone applies for credit. Problem is not all businesses are in the 'network" and want no part of a third party like Lifelock. They do not monitor your credit report unless you pay the outrageous sum of $25/month, and your credit reports are the best line of defense against ID theft. I switched to a company called Privacy Guard that Frank Abagnale works with. They monitor all 3 bureaus daily, and they caught me applying for credit the same day! I was impressed. So Lifelock makes money on something you can do yourself (unless you pay $25/month) and seems to be a big legal scam.

Just in situations where Lifelock doesn't get notified, we can protect you down the road. Huh? Great, so anyone can open a credit card under my SS# and it's going to be 50/50 that you will know about it! So in the meantime, my credit gets messed. They don't really protect your SS#. I understand this but the source of the problem is the alerts Lifelock sends out every 3 months make our financial dealings a pain..just today my wife tried to open 2 new eTrade savings accounts and eTrade will not do so until we send copies of our drivers licenses and S.S Card... last week we tried to set up an account with ING and ran into the same problem..
